Some Business Bozo puts a hit out on Vlad. It's one of Vlad's earliest victims, back before he knew how to properly cover his tracks but there were so few metas no one knew exactly what the hell happened. BB had his entire fortune and company stolen and has spent the rest of his life building up enough fortune to hire the best assassin to murder this bastard.

Enter Slade Wilson.

Slade has recently accepted the job to kill Vlad Masters. During preliminary research, Slade discovers Daniel Masters, formerly Fenton, the godchild Vlad adopted after his family died in an accident. The godchild who despises Masters for murdering his friends and family. The godchild who is willing to sell Masters out in a heartbeat if it means being free.

The Terminator and the Ghost Boy strike a deal. Slade even grows fond of the little maniac.

It was a stupid idea to take a job like this. He'd waited and waited for his eye to heal and finally got fed up with waiting. He'd taken the first offer that had come his way.

And here he was, trapped on all fours, unable to speak, and with far more problems than a mere lack of depth perception.

He tried to shout and it came out a roar.

Fuck this. Fuck Gotham. He'd only come here because he needed something to get out of his own head, to stop seeing Joey's wide, terrified eyes every time he slept. He needed to run, to flee far and fast enough that he could outrun his greatest mistake.

He shouldn't have waited. He shouldn't have convinced himself that he was invincible, he was unstoppable, he was the best killer on the planet. He shouldn't have hesitated when he saw the man holding his son prisoner.

And here he was, trapped after all.

Slade grunted and forced himself forward, awkwardly crawling on his new limbs. No one had mentioned that there was fucking magic involved and now he was seeing shit in colors that didn't exist and trying to get used to moving four legs instead of two. The eye was still gone, though.

He couldn't even get the magician to undo it, because the man was dead.

When will you get it through your thick fucking skull that murder cannot solve everything, Adeline had screamed at him. Of course, she'd then done her level best to murder him, so Slade felt justified in ignoring her opinion.

Slade continued to drag himself to the warehouse door--and then paused. Where was he planning to go? His gear had been blown up by magic and his safehouse was blocks away. He couldn't unlock his security without opposable thumbs, or pick up a phone to call Wintergreen, or communicate with anyone. There wasn't a convenient sign hanging over his head that said 'actually a human!'.

He had, he realized chillingly, no idea if it could even be undone.

The sound of footsteps broke his horrified reverie and Slade immediately searched for a place to hide. He was a large animal, a predator judging by the sharp teeth and claws, and he did not want to meet whatever passed for Animal Control in this fucked-up city.

Unfortunately, he ended up cornered by animals of a different kind.

"Holy zoo jailbreak, Batman, is that a tiger?" a brightly colored kid exclaimed, peering from between a dark, forbidding shadow. Slade cast a glance at himself--he could only see white fur but he supposed it was possible. "How did it get here?"

Slade made a threatening growl as the vigilantes sidled forward and they froze. Well, Batman froze and Robin ducked around him.

"Robin!" Batman said sharply, but the kid ignored his orders. Of course he did, he was a kid, and Slade felt his ire grow--he had never meant to put Joey in danger and now his son was mute. What the fuck was Batman thinking, dressing his son as a brightly colored target and taking him out crimefighting.

"He's hurt, B," Robin said, still creeping forward. Slade snarled as loudly as he got, sending Batman rocking forward, but Robin ignored it. "See, he's bleeding!"

There was something wet and irritating in the crook of Slade's neck, and he kept having to fight the insane urge to lick it, but he held his ground, roaring furiously as Robin got closer.

"Robin!" Batman called out, now sounding distinctly worried, but the kid was barely a yard away from Slade now.

"It's okay," Robin murmured to Slade, holding out his empty hands. "I'm just trying to help you."

Jesus fucking Christ. Did this kid have no self-preservation or what? He was close enough to touch now, and while Slade wanted to lash out and test the sharpness of his claws, he also wasn't a monster. No matter what Adeline said.

He wasn't going to maul some kid barely older than Joey. Not when he kept seeing skin split open by a sharp knife, blood welling up almost as fast as the panic.

"It's okay," Robin soothed, gently placing a hand on Slade's head. Slade's ears flicked irritably. "I'm going to check if you're okay." Slade was not happy, but he let Robin examine the wound area on his blind side, keeping his eye fixed on Batman.

He growled low and deep when he caught the man creeping forward.

"Robin," Batman said tightly, "leave it. They can check on it when they take it to the zoo."

Slade snarled, loud and furious. He wasn't going to go meekly into some cage.

"But what about the evidence of magic?" Robin pointed out sensibly. He was a smart kid. "I don't think Gotham Zoo's equipped to take care of a magical tiger."

Very smart kid. Slade managed to figure out how to fold his legs and leaned heavily on the kid, half-pinning him in place as he glared down Batman.

Batman sighed, loud and put-upon. "Robin," he said, somewhere between firm and exasperated. "That's a tiger, not a pet. We're not putting it in the Batcave."

"He needs help," Robin said, voice wavering. "You said our job was to help whoever needed it."

Slade got to watch Batman, Dark Knight of Gotham, dreaded terror of criminals and vagabonds, fold like a bad hand.

"You're telling Alfred," Batman growled as Robin cheered in victory.

Slade decided to go along with the nudging. Batman and Robin were the only ones who knew about the magic, which meant they were his best chance at getting a solution.

It had absolutely nothing to do with the ear scritches. Nothing at all.

They can't stand each other. Damian's inferiority complex towards Cass and Cass' lack of patience for the sheer arrogance that brat's projecting.

Despite all that professional assassin co duct requires politeness. As much as two obviously traumatised kids can manage without it sounding at times like very pompous words shoved into a tiny kid and a silent teen who can actually kill you but even then manages to hold an aura of edginess.

Awww these two certainly rub off each other like that.

And still, both work somehow together, to get against the League and not alert Batman (another point in their life that brought them together cause who need more stress from a phantom that may cross their own murder plans).

And along the merry way came Slade.

(now we have an actual adult supervising two kids and fuck now he's starting to miss his own even if dysfunctional family, is this purgatory and where's the actual functional adult oh batman-- shit did you just stab me? ah fuck.)

Dick froze halfway across a rooftop, the lights and gunshots of Bludhaven disappearing in an instant. A scowl flashed across his face, teeth clenched and bared, before he forced it back. His face smoothed back out and his voice took on a pleasant, amused tone. "Slade. How did you get this frequency?"

"Nevermind that," Slade scolded. "We have more important things that need discussing, and information to be revealed."

"Is this about Constantinople?" He asked with a lilt, propping one hand on his hip. "Because I thought I told you, those geese totally counted as villains and deserved arrest--"

"I found a child vigilante. What do I do with it?"

"Ex-cuse me?" His fist clenched. "Is this a trick question?"

"No."

"What do you mean, 'what do I do with it?' You know what to do with it; you become its nemisis when their 15 and haunted them for the next decade." His voice was thinly-veiled rage. He couldn't stop himself from shaking. That poor kid, Slade has his sights set on them. He's going to torture that kid, or worse, and now I have to track Slade's trail back to wherever he found this kid--

"I can't do that! He's only eight years old!"

"What?"

"There's this eight year old meta brat running around a Mid-West town in his pajamas while adults shoot at him. There isn't a mentor in sight, and one of the kid's rogues has threatened to skin him. What. Do. I. Do?"

Biography:

Cynthia was born to Mara Al Ghul, the granddaughter of Ra's Al Ghul, and Grant Wilson, the current Deathstroke. Grant was absent around the time Mara carried the unborn child of his, having left to complete his mission in eliminating Lex Luthor, following his failure among the Light.

After Grant returned to Star City following the haunting events, Mara revealed to have given birth to their daughter, and have to present to her father in order to convince him to help her eliminate Talia Al Ghul for Mara to take lead in the League of Shadows.

Mara nicknames her daughter Sin, to which Grant responded that it was rather inappropriate to call her that. Following the Fall of the League of Shadows, Talia had been defeated at the hands of Lian Harper, and only let her live for her failure, only for Mara to sacrifice her and assumed leadership in the Shadows.

Till this day, Grant and Mara ruled the League of Shadows together. But being haunted by the previous events that ended in blood. Grant thought Cynthia will end up like her paternal grandfather, Slade as a murderous killer. And afraid to be a bad influence. Thus with her mother influencing her to become a shadow.

Grant devises a plan to find Cynthia a home and family where she can grow up a normal child, and to not let anyone else find her. Using the blood of a servant he killed and spill it on the empty crib. Tricking Mara into thinking their daughter was killed and her body was stolen.

After the trick proceeded successfully, Grant took the infant Cynthia back to Star City. After hearing that his younger brother, Joseph and Lian Harper had dated and ended up living together.

Later after arriving to Star City. Grant makes one last goodbye to his daughter and left her to his brother's apartment. Vanish without a trace, knowing that Mara would take revenge him for not protecting Cynthia. Grant knocks the door on Joseph and Lian's apartment and left quietly.

Joseph and Lian found Cynthia left on the doorstep. And took her in. After failing to figure out whose child Cynthia was. Lian and Joseph decided to adopt her, renaming her Rose, after Joseph and Grant's half-sister.

As they raised her, Cynthia, now renamed Rose, had lived joyfully living with Joseph and Lian. And as a result, Rose views them as her real parents. But whenever they're on missions, Adeline Kane (Grant and Joseph's mother) does not seem to mind babysitting Rose. But then suspicion arises when Adeline notice the similarities between Rose and Grant.

Wanting to confirm her suspicions, Adeline took the three-year-old Rose to a genetics lab for a DNA test. Suspecting that Grant might be the father of the child. To her shock, her suspicion of her granddaughter is never wrong as the test reveals Grant to be the father.

After completing the mission, Joseph and Lian arrived home to be greeted by Rose and Adeline. Then Adeline told her youngest son and Lian about somewhat she found out about Rose, whose real name was Cynthia. The three agreed that Cynthia should not know about her biological father and keep her living in a healthy environment.

One night, Grant was visited by his mother when she confronted him about Cynthia. Scolding her son for abandoning her when he had a chance of redemption. To which Grant responded that he did not have a choice if the Light organization was going to hunt down children of villains and assassins. Once the confrontation ended. Grant warned his mother that his father, Slade is alive, and to watch her back. And gives a request to watch over Cynthia for him.

In 2053, Lian taught Cynthia/Rose on how to do archery and swordsmanship. Leading her to become her partner, Speedy after Lian became Red Arrow.

In 2056, Rose was among the younger generations alongside Bart Allen/Impulse to fight against the Reach and its armies in a dystopian timeline.

In 2063, Rose, now as Red Arrow joined the Justice Warriors of Tomorrow, led by Aquawoman (Myra).

September 30th - Ravanger

Rose Wilson-Worth is the daughter of Slade Wilson, the super villain mercenary known as Deathstroke. Slade attempted to keep Rose’s parentage a secret, fearing that she might become a target of his many enemies. This effort failed in that Slade’s bother, the villain called Ravager, discovered Rose’s existence and attempted to kill her. 

Desperate to save his daughter, Slade manipulated The Teen Titans into protecting Rose. Later, Slade revealed himself as Rose’s father. Rose had already become an accomplished combatant and Slade agreed to teach her as his protégé. He additionally injected her with the same serum that heightened his speed, strength and reflexes, bestowing her the same augmented abilities. Unfortunately, a side-effect of this serum resulted in Rose becoming emotionally unstable and violent. 

Rose sought out her uncle and murdered him, taking the name ‘Ravager’ as her own. She participated on other missions with her father yet earned her father’s displeasure when she neglected to kill the hero Beast Boy. In a desperate effort to earn back her father’s favor, Rose gauged out her left eye to show her dedication to being more like him. 

After Rose was defeated by the hero Batgirl, Slade coerced Nightwing into taking Rose on as a student (at the time Nightwing was posing as the villain Renegade) . Nightwing accepted the challenge, hoping that he could save Rose from becoming a true villain. Although it didn’t proceed as smoothly as hoped, Nightwing did end up having a positive effect on Rose and she ultimately turned away from super villainy to act as a hero, eventually becoming a member of The Teen Titans.  

A version of the character appears in the Titans television series portrayed by actress Chelsea Zhang. Rose first appeared in the pages of Deathstroke #15 (1992).

My Comments: I have never loved a fic as much as I love this one and as a total Slade Wilson stan I can tell you right now this is one of the best (and in my humble opinion THE absolute best) Slade Wilson and BatFam fic out there. Things that made this fic my All-Time Favorite fic: the characterizations, the hurt and comfort, the finding of family, the humor, the angst, the love the characters have for each other and how Damian is introduced to the family (this is later in the series I believe). I cannot stress how epic and beautiful this fic is.

An Invincible Summer by WithTheKeyIsKing

Summary: What Slade didn't expect upon opening his front door: a nine-year-old with a handful of crumpled bills, wanting to hire him to avenge the murder of his parents.

My Comments: An AU where Slade basically adopts Dick? Yes, please! This was such an original and wonderfully done fic. Honestly, off the charts with wholesomeness and left me craving more! I couldn't get over the amazing dynamic between Dick and Slade. Trust me, you will fall in love with this fic and be begging the author for more.  

The Jingle Jangle Morning by @audreycritter

Summary: Dick’s first overnight field trip without Bruce doesn’t go as well as planned.

My Comments: THIS IS THE BATDAD WE DESERVE!!! The relationship between Dick and Bruce is beautifully captured in this fic, it honestly brought tears to my eyes. This fic is so heartwarming and if you love yourself some good dad Bruce Wayne and adorable Dick Grayson then this is the fic for you. A million kudos to this fic.

Looking for Home by Team_Alpha_Wolf_Squadron

Summary: Bruce and Jason are lost in the woods, not knowing how they got there, or even where they are. A little road trip even when there is no road is always good for bonding though.

My Comments: Everything I have ever read by Team_Alpha_Wolf_Squadron (i.e., one of my fav authors) has blown me away and Looking for Home is no exception. This fic is one of the most intriguing and beautifully done fics I have ever read. This story has everything I love; a mystery, a bit of an eerie vibe, familial love, and plenty of twists and turns. I love a fic that can bring be to tears and this one did that multiple times. An All-Time Favorite for sure.

Summary:  "You're fucking with me." Tim blinks up at his uncle – and he's never seen his uncle in full armor before, not in person. It's kind of daunting. "Please tell me you're fucking with me, spawn."

My Comments: BEST FIC EVER!!!! Honestly, this fic has the coolest and most original fracking premise ever. Slade as Tim's uncle??? Can it get any cooler than that?! Such a well written fic with amazing characterizations. It's hilarious, it's heartwarming, and so so so good. I promise you will LOVE this fic.
