A family visit
Alfred has been granted (Force) by the bats a week off, and whatever way would he do in a week?, visit his Father of course!
Alfred didn't really have a word into this, he only just been given (forced) a week off, he reason with the family ( it always works) but to his surprised! None of it came through there heads! ( Somehow they got lucky from Alfred's reasonable scolding)
What about the manor? Who would care of it? Who would assist? What will happen if-
How many times he reason and tried to budge it in there minds, none of it work?
Alfred is in horror, so the only thing he can only do is accept, remind them what's not do and do, (every single details) or atleast the common things to do, which he thinks they can handle it- if not, if he sees the house in shambles or in the news, he can now have a reason to not always take a weeks off.
In Alfred's room, he was packing some pairs of clothes, a coat, a medical kit, pairs of shoes, a book, his dark shawl that is covered with a lots of constellation's from his papa's gifts, (he always take good care of it when he left on his own, he couldn't leave his shawl even in the time of his work,) and whatever he needs.
He decided to visit and have his week's off to his papa's, it's been quite a long time ( maybe 60 years or so-)
It's not like he was an absent son, he was just busy, he would occasionally send letters or his baked cookie's ( he's own recipe but still came from papa's original treats).
The Batfam does know Alfred had a dad who's still alive?( Which the kids would joke about how his dad is immortal) outside his life here in Gotham as the only staff in the Wayne manor.
While they were chilling in the living room, they could see Alfred heading towards the door, before he stop and took out a letter, and as he did a ring in the bell could be heard, Alfred open the door, and greeted..
The mailman? ( A very hardworking ghost mailman, just saying “Jolly ho!- how may I help send! Deliver, or even package international!” which Alfred replying “International please, for in this ### #### ## address, I need it quickly delivered through his doorsteps” then the Mailman just nodded, Alfred payed him and he just disappeared)
And Alfred sighs in relief and went to get his luggage, and bid the Batfam goodbye without even explaining what was happening (Bruce dropped his newspaper)
They might had ideas Alfred wasn't human or normal, but after that bombshell, they just can't stop the urge to find out ( like the usual thing the Batfam does, but only minimal like just knowing where he went and they wanted to have Alfred privacy)
Alfred was on his way to his papa's home very much missing the feeling of home in Britain now it's been quite a long time almost but he's getting second thoughts, what would his papa think?
( and yes, hes dad was wealthy, and through family too, He lived in a manor too,
which was a very old money manor, cause Danny? he's literally the ghost king)
Alfred decided he got this, so he took a step and took a deep breath In the front door of the home he loved and cared for in his childhood, knocking three times and the only thing he imagined is that his papa would give him a big warm hug like old times when Alfred would visit once a while before he truly left home.
The bats were in disguise, well partially disguise, the british neighbors nearby can see them looking at them like there were weird (stalking is not a healthy way...sometimes) And how can they even see them?! There literally in a camouflage!!
They saw how Alfred took a step, and knock three times...the door open and there they saw- a kid? Wait what? The black haired and blue teenager might be 16 who looks like could be adoption bait look surprised and happy and he give Alfred a hug, and Alfie just return the gesture, they were having a conversation, they couldn't here it because they were out of range and no hearing gadgets ( damn it Bruce)
Then Alfred and the teen went back to the house, and the door could only shut blocking there view of Alfred and the teen.

A fic-lit about Danny working at the watchtower, not as a superhero but as an engineer.
This is based on an prompt I read months ago but cant find where Danny put that he was a halfa on his resume but the hiring manager didn’t pay attention to it and hired him anyway. Rather than that its just Danny working at the watchtower and vibing on break when a tiny Robin finds him in the viewing deck.
Danny had been working for the justice league watchtower for a couple of months. He has seen hero’s come and go, paying him no mind and he was absolutely living for it! Unlike at 14, he was just a simple, normal worker—despite being half dead and the next in line for the crown in the infinite realms—he is just a simple mechanical engineer, Danny Nightingale. No one to fight, no one to save, just a big space station that needed someone to help keep it up in space.
And that's another bonus to this job; Space!
He gets to spend his shift up in the stars, looking out at the cold expanse of their solar system. Admiring the earth from a whole new angle, and he is getting paid to do it! Sure he could go into space any time, but being able to spend a good portion of his time here really made his core sing in joy. When he was on break he would wander around the areas he had clearance to go into, looking out every window at every star. Cataloging the ships movement through space with sharp eyes. His favorite place to go is the viewing deck, it was exactly what it sounded like, a place to just go and view that space outside.
It was there that Danny decided to take his break today, the Watchtower was at just the right angle to be able to see the earth from the viewing deck. Danny smiled watching the planet he lived on from afar, this really was the best job he could have ended up with!
A few months back he was having a hard time finding work after college, sure he had all the proper qualifications for the positions he applied for. But due to his medical condition—being half dead with a slow almost nonexistent heartbeat—they all refused him, afraid that his heart wouldn't keep up if he left the atmosphere to board any of the space stations orbiting the earth. To be fair it wouldn't have, he tested it by flying up to the moon and back the old fashioned way. But he couldn't just tell them that; being an ecto entity was still a crime that he was just barely able to get away from at age eighteen.
He came out to his parents once he graduated high school, they reacted poorly. Danny’s mom saw red and tried to kill him the rest of the way, claiming that Danny was just a ghost “piloting” his corpse around. Danny’s dad just stayed silent and watched, but before maddie could really do anything he acted. Jack knocked Maddie out with a strong blow to the back of her head. Danny remembered the hope that he had when Jack did that, but after he looked up at the man that hope died in his chest. The man looked torn, both angry and sad and in a voice lacking any of the familiar warmth said, “leave before she wakes up.” And he turned to pick up Maddie and made his way up the stairs. It was because of his dad that he was able to get away because after that Danny Fenton was declared dead. With the help of Sam and Tucker he was able to make a new identity for himself and go to school. From that day on Danny decided to move on and never look back.
After putting his name out there time and time again he was rejected. It wasn't until he got a letter in the mail saying he had been scheduled for an interview at Wayne tech of all places. He didn’t remember applying there but decided to go anyway, needing some sort of job to get him through. But when he got there he was greeted by Lucius Fox and Batman of all people! Danny nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw the dark knight, Danny couldn't help but think the worst. But before he could bolt, Lucius explained that Batman was looking for workers with the help of Wayne Industries for the base of operations for the Justice League—The Watchtower. Turns out all his applications to several different space programs caught the man’s attention. He even explained that Danny wouldn't even need to have a physical or get on a spaceship because The Watchtower utilized teleportation technology. Danny was so excited that he agreed on the spot without even knowing the benefits he would get from working with them. Which—surprising to no one—were a lot of benefits.
Danny was drawn from his thoughts when he heard the soft, almost nearly nonexistent footsteps coming from behind him. Danny turned and saw a child—no older than twelve—wearing a hero’s costume that looked like he was mimicking a traffic light. The kid froze in his tracks when Danny turned to face him, the two staring at each other for a few moments before the kid smiled and waved at him.
“Hi,” the kid beamed at Danny, “I’m D—Robin!”
Danny lifted a brow, “you a part of the justice league?” He asked, not remembering a kid being a part of their team.
The kid shook his head, “No, my guardian is though!” He explained.
“Ah, neat,” Danny said nonshalontly as he turned back to look at the window, “you come to see the view?” He asked.
The kid walked farther into the room and gasped when he got a better look at said view. “Woah—”, he exclaimed, now standing next to Danny.
Danny looked beside him to see the stars reflecting off of the kids' eyes, “cool isn't it? I come here on my lunch breaks," Danny says.
The kid looked at him and then squinted suspiciously, “if you're at lunch where is your food?” He asked.
Danny smiled, “I forgot my lunch at home today,” Danny lied, seeing the stars gave him enough energy to continue going. He usually eats when he gets home.
“Really?” The kid asked with a raised brow.
Danny smiled and looked around to see if anyone else was there, when he saw no one he asked, “do you wanna hear a secret?” He asked. Robin looked around himself as well before he leaned down a bit so Danny could whisper into his ear, “I actually just absorb the energy from the stars to sustain myself.” He explained.
“Really?” Robin asked, looking at him again, trying to gauge if Danny was lying or not.
Danny smiled, “yep,” he said, popping the p, “that's why I got a job here, that way I won’t starve to death.” Danny grins.
“But cant you just look at the stars from earth?” Robin asked, tilting his head.
“I mean, sure,” Danny says with a shrug, looking back out the window, “but this is so much better, isn't it?”
Robin looked out the window, “yeah!” The boy exclaimed, “it's so much clearer up here than in Gotham.” He commented.
Danny smiled and looked back at the boy, “I live in Gotham, too.”
“Really?” Robin asked, “No wonder you come up here,” the boy commented, causing Danny to snort in laughter and it wasn't long before Robin joined him.
“You got that right,” Danny says with a smirk before something dawns on him, “Wait, hero from gotham? I didn't know Batman had a kid?” Robin looked away, Danny could feel his nerves and sadness pass through him.
Danny was about to tell him that he didn't have to talk about it but before he could get his words out Robin spoke up, “My parents died about a year ago… he took me in only recently, he decided to train me when I found out he was Batman,” the kid says looking down at his feet, a glare etched on his face, “i never got to avenge my parents, the murderer had a heart attack before I could even get to him….”
Danny reached out to the kid and placed his hand on Robin’s shoulder, Robin looked up at him—as if remembering that Danny was there with him.
“I’m sorry for your loss,” Danny says softly, Robin looks away from him. “But I can tell you wholeheartedly, your parents are proud of you and what you are doing,” robin began rubbing at his mask, preventing him from wiping the tears away from his eyes underneath. “Here,” Danny says as he goes to pick up the 12 year old, “let's get you back to the Big Black Bat, I bet he is looking for you.”
Danny sits Robin on his hip and walks out of the room, rubbing circles into the child’s back. They walk together in silence, Robin resting his head in the crook of Danny's neck. “…Thank you,” Robin mumbles.
“Don't mention it kid,” Danny says as he looks around the corridor trying to spot anyone who could help him get this kid to the upper levels, “I know what it's like to lose your parents….”
“Really?” Robin asked, his head lifting off of Danny’s shoulder.
“Yeah,” Danny says, “they didn't die, but they basically said they never wanted to see me again.”
Robin gasped, “that's not nice!” Robin declared making Danny laugh again.
“Your right,” Danny agrees as he turns down another hall towards where the zeta tubes were, maybe someone in there could help. “But, now I'm here, having the time of my life with the job of my dreams.”
Robin smiled again, “you could say you're living the HIGH life.”
Danny paused in the hall and started snickering, “that was a good one, Birdy.”
“Birdy?” Robin asked.
“Yeah, your name is Robin, that's a bird, so Birdy,” Danny explained, “its a nickname
“Does that make us friends?” Robin asked.
“Sure, as long as your guardian is ok with it.”
The boy smiled happily, excited at the idea of having made a new friend. The calm was interrupted but Danny’s supervisor yelled from across the room, “Nightingale!” He shouts, causing Danny to jump.
Danny turns to look at the man, “hey boss—” he starts, blocking Robin from the man, not wanting to scare the kid.
“You are late to clock back in! You're not getting paid to sit around with your head in the clouds!” The man shouts.
“Sorry sir, I was—”
“No! You need to get back to work, NOW!” He demanded, “this is a multibillion dollar space station, everything needs to be on a strict schedule!”
Danny sighed, his supervisor hasn't liked Danny from day one. Something about him being “young and nïeve” or something like that; “head higher up into space than we were right now.” At least that's what Danny heard him say about him once or twice.
Danny was about to talk back when something just past his manager caught his eye. It was Batman, walking fast with a look that told everyone to get out of the way. But Danny could feel the worry bleed off the man in waves. Must be looking for Robin, Danny’s mind supplied. Danny sidesteps his supervisor and shouts, “Hey Batman!” To catch the dark knight’s attention. Danny had to restrain his laughter when he saw the look of horror pass on his supervisor's face.
Now with the vigilanties cold glare focused on him, Danny smiled and adjusted his stance to show Robbin to him. “Looking for you kid?” Danny asked.
Robin smiled nervously and waved at Batman, guess he wasn’t supposed to wander off like he did. “Hey B!” He shouts.
Batman’s glare softens so slightly, a regular person would have missed it. However, Danny could feel the man’s previous anxieties melt away into a strong relief. Batman strutted forward and glared down at Danny—despite Danny being taller than him. Danny just smiled and adjusted Robin on him so he could hand him over to the dark knight.
Now in Batman’s arms, Robin tapped his pointer fingers together nervously. “Sorry for wandering off,” he mumbled before his smile came back full force, “but,” he exclaimed, “I made a friend! His name is Danny and he liked my puns! And we both have bird names!” He exclaimed all while pointing at Danny.
Batman looked from the kid in his arms to Danny, “hmm,” he grumbled. A man of few words, Batman nods at Danny.
Danny nodded back, “He’s a good kid, glad I was able to help.” Danny replied. Feeling gratitude from that small gesture alone. Batman isn't the most expressive but being able to read emotions like Danny really helps when talking to people.
Batman turns his head to look over at Danny’s superior, “hmm.” After that Batman turned and walked away.
Robin climbed to sit up on Batman’s shoulder and waved back at Danny, “Bye bird buddy! Have a good day!” He shouts as Batman enters the elevator. The doors closing behind them and leaving the zeta tube control center in near silence.
Danny looked back to his supervisor who looked as pale as a sheet ghost, Danny gave him a shit eating grin and shrugged at him. “I tried to tell ya—”
“Get back to work Nightingale!” He shouts.
“Ok, ok, I'm going.” Danny says, turning on his heels and walking away from the man with his hands held up in surrender.
I have so many ideas for this au and if I write more I might post it on my AO3 feel free to read other things I posted on there!

Danny Phantom is immortal. His best friends, not quite
Danny absolutely loves the people closest to him. His mom and dad, his sister, Sam, Tucker, Val, even Wes.
His accident permanently stunted him as a preteen. He can’t age or move past the awkward begining of puberty. His best friends age, grow up, live…
Danny stays the same. Well, he slowly takes on more responsibility in the realms as the ghost king. He trains with Pandora, he fights any ghost that wants to battle, he grows more powerful.
The biggest change in Danny happens when his parents die.
Of course they did. It’s been years, they both grew rather old, and passed away peacefully in their sleep. Danny prevented any major ghost attacks on the earth, so things were very relaxed for his mom and dad. They switched their focus from hunting and fighting ghosts to studying them.
Danny waited for their ghosts to form in the zone. Surely they had been around enough ectoplasm?
Well, no. They didn’t end up forming as ghosts. It didn’t work well for Danny’s plans. He had a whole wing of the castle for them!
Clockwork comforts Danny, tells him that Danny will see his parents again, just not in the way he expected.
Time continued to move on. Jazz became a therapist, with a specialty in occult based cases. Sam worked in phantasmobotany, some weird ghost plant science. Tucker worked in tech, and even created a few cool video games. Val jumped jobs all the time- fashion design, bodyguard, technology- she kept changing and growing. Wes went into investigative journalism.
His friends grew up, became successful, became happy. They never forgot about Danny. They still spent time together every week.
His friends were still mortal, though. Eventually, they each passed on. None of them ended up as ghosts. Clockwork continued to promise that he’d see them again.
Danny mourned the loss of a world that moved on without him. His time in Amity ended with a flicker. He left his home dimension for good, returning to the Ghost Zone for years.
He wasn’t alone. Vlad and Dani halfas too. Even if it was Vlad, Danny was still happy to have a familiar face. And Dani was always a pleasure.
Danny’s fellow half ghosts helped him through his loss. Despite Clockwork telling Danny he’d see his family again, Danny couldn’t help but worry about the worst case scenario.
Eventually, clockwork announced that the time was right. He explained why exactly his friends and family hadn’t become ghosts. Where they had been this whole time.
They had been reincarnated
Danny’s closest friends and family members were all alive, in different bodies, in a different dimension. Their souls were the same.
Clockwork explains that spending enough time with the right people will let their memories return slowly.
So now Danny just has to find people who act like his best friends and family, spend two weeks with them, and hope he found one of his family members.
Danny wasn’t excited for the quest. But seeing his family again? That was worth it.
Danny arrives in the DC universe, ready to reunite with his loved ones.
If he can figure out who they are.

Vlad had a redemption arc that led to him having a daughter who is Dani, wanting to retire from being a villain and just settle by being a rich dad then few months came and another kid comes barging into his home and it was Dan who looks exactly like Danny except for the color of their eyes.
Turns out, Clockwork gave Dan a chance and Danny had to begrudgingly agree since he may have some doubts, Danny still didn't want to be a complete menace in the future and wouldn't want Dan to escape somehow and wreck havoc.
And if anyone in Amity Park or someone who knew Vlad questions of the eerily similar features of the Dannies, they'd just shrug it off and be blind about it cuz they all just knew that they're all just some big weirdos in their own good way.
But anyway, Vlad had been invited to a gala in Gotham so the three went.... with Danny's supervision flying above invisibly. And as Danny goes, he felt a cold puff coming out of his mouth and the same happened to the other halfas below him so they all stopped and looked around and managed to get themselves in Crime Alley.
Turns out, a kid got kidnapped and a man who seemed to be a ghost but also not a ghost... thinking it was other halfa, the four got excited to know who might they be so in turn, they helped man who was trying to save a kid from some kidnappers.
And when they saved the kid, the three: Dani, Dan and Vlad, realized that they were not in their ghosts forms and had been using their powers in human forms so now they got exposed meanwhile Danny was just hovering in his ghost form chuckling at the sheer mistake of the other halfas.
......im not sure where to continue this but in the end of it all, Bruce found Dan (they're in the gala now) seemingly similar to Danny Fenton in Amity Park so Bruce questioned Vlad and Vlad had to lie.... next to Clark Kent who found a lie in his answer.
And so, something something blah blah and the JL went to Amity Park to discover ghosts and the like and Jason was there too, freaking out at the fact that he could sense the lazarus pit everywhere

Doctor Danny Fenton: On The Run
Danny knew he was on borrowed time.
Sure, he was harder for Clockwork to find than most- something about it being harder to look for an acausal nexus than a causal one, and the medallion fused into his core severing him from standard causal flow, Dan had explained it to him once, before he... no! Focus Danny! You don't know how long you have until he finds you!
Dragging himself out of his dissociation, Danny took stock. He still had the Infinimap in one hand; it was still green and dripping from something he couldn't afford to think about right now. Where and when had the Infinimap interpreted his shout of "a way to run away" as asking to travel to?
"Dann'O! You're just in time to see our newest upgrades to the speeder!"
"Uhhh... You made it look like a Volkswagen beetle?”
"Oh, Sweetie, no. See!" his mom said, opening up a control panel and poking around, then stepping away from what was now a cargo van.
"Your father and I finally figured out how to fuse ectoplasm with metals to make ecto-alloy! We rebuilt the speeder from it and added a camouflage circuit. Now it can change shape into whatever will blend into the surrounding environment for any ghost hunting scenario."
"And the best part is, it even gives off an ecto-signature! Those spooks won't know what hit 'em when you ambush 'em from this one Mads!"
A transforming vehicle with its own ecto-signature to hide inside? Yeah, that might work, even though Danny remembered the camouflage feature had been a short-lived modification because of how often it would get stuck and have to be put through a hard-reset to get it changing again. And judging by the way the Infinimap was subtly tugging towards the improved speeder that's exactly what it brought him here for.
"Mom, Dad, whatever happens next, I love you, and I'm sorry."
"Danny, sweetie, is something wrong?"
"More than I have time to explain, mom. Look, if you see Jazz... If this timeline... Just, tell Jazz I love her too, ok?"
"Dann'o, you're scaring us."
"I know. I'm sorry. Hopefully you'll have the chance to be able to forgive me for this. Going Ghost!"
Ok. He had made it into the speeder. The new metal wasn't phase-proof, there were pros and cons to that, ones he would consider later if he made it that far. At least the interior was pretty much unchanged, so he'd been able to get the speeder started before he'd heard the sound of a clock tolling and his parents' banging on the door had suddenly stopped.
He'd gunned it into the portal quickly enough to get into the relative safety of the zone before its stop sign frame and hazard pattern doors dissolved into obliterated nothingness along with everything else he had been able to see, or sense, of his home dimension...
Something else to be stuffed in the trauma box to be unpacked never if he was ever able to stop running 'later,' something to unpack 'later.'
The tugging in his hand was getting stronger, so at least he was probably heading in roughly the right direction.
He tried veering a little to the right to see if he could get a better sense for the direction the map was tugging, only for its pull to remain unchanged.
Confused, Danny glanced down to see it was actually tugging towards the dashboard.
Or rather, the ectoplasm- all that remained of Dani... 'LATER!'- which coated it was tugging towards the dashboard.
Desperately hoping this meant there might be something of his favorite halfa left to save, Danny pressed the coated map to the dashboard, and prayed.
Within seconds, the map was gone, absorbed into the speeder. Then things got even weirder.
Weirder than the group of ancients putting aside their many feuds to team up on him had been.
Stranger than those ancients somehow getting the Observants on their side.
More out of the blue than the Observants using their binding vow with Clockwork to force him to try to eliminate any timelines with Danny in them, as well as anyone who was even part Danny.
It had been a hell of a day.
And now the speeder had apparently grown absolutely gigantic after absorbing the Infinimap if the anachrofuturistic room Danny suddenly found himself in was anything to go by.
And according to the view screens it was generating a relativistic time, space, and dimensional tunnel?
Oh Lord. Danny was going to have quite the time explaining this one to his parents if he managed to undo enough of this to have a timeline to return to.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The tunnel let out in a universe with low-to-minimal ambient ectoplasm according to the external sensor arrays.
That phrasing! That was Exactly how Clockwork had phrased it the last time Danny had talked with him as 'Clockwork'; after the Observants took control of him with their vow he had called himself Chrona, which was the first thing which clued Danny in that something was wrong.
What was it Clockwork had told him?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Local ambient ectoplasm levels are an important consideration for stronger ghosts, Danny. Your perception is skewed by the limits of your experiences, as well as your unique biology, but Amity park and the Infinite Realms as a whole are essentially the top of the scale for ambient ectoplasm levels.
Normally, ectoplasm is a renewable, but much more finite resource. A sufficiently powerful ghost can easily consume all that is available in an area with a normal level before they are able to accomplish anything worth the effort if they aren't extremely frugal with their use of power. Normally, it makes any plans which would involve other realms simply not worth the effort and energy expenditure involved, especially with the additional up-front cost of breaching the veil.
There are even locations with low-to-minimal ambient ectoplasm, which makes them practically immune to ghostly influence. Only the very weakest of shades, ones who require next to no ectoplasm to maintain their current state of existence, can naturally persist in such places. Well, them, and extremely rare exceptions such as Halfa's, whose unique state of existence allows them to generate nearly all of the ectoplasm required to sustain their ghostly half. Any other ghosts would have to gather all of the ectoplasm they would need before going to any such spot, like how the astronauts you love so much need to bring everything for survival with them into deep space.
Actually, the deep space metaphor is particularly apt, as there are whole dimensions with far lower levels of ectoplasm than the one you call home.
Should you ever find yourself able to indulge that space obsession of yours, that would be a good place to do it. Most ghosts would be unable to follow you there, and even those who technically could would have great difficulty sustaining themselves once they arived."
"Geez, Gramps, you're feeling talkative today. Usually I can't get anything nearly this direct out of you."
"It will be important for you to understand your options, my young halfa. Speaking of which, keep in mind that your specific nature is vital to your ability to so easily sustain yourself in such environments. Even other halfas will have much more difficulty surviving in the lowest ecto-level locations as a result of their less balanced compositions. I know your young mirror's obsession also involves exploration, but she would require near constant fulfillment of her obsessions to have a hope of generating enough to get by without supplementation for you or another living being with a similar drive to seek new experiences. Mr. Masters would be better off due to his greater degree of human biology, but would also be hindered by the less complete connection to his ghost side. He would likely find transformation essentially impossible outside of survival scenarios- though you yourself probably would as well- and even his human form would experience side-effects like pounding headaches, or the constant sound of his heart pounding in his ears like a drum as it was pushed to maintain his starving ghostly side."
"I'm sure Dani and I could manage. And if we couldn't, we could always call you to pick us up."
"Untrue, actually. Any location with low enough levels to cause young Danielle to suffer would also be extremely difficult for me to reach. Such low levels could require anywhere from days to centuries in order to push enough ectoplasm through the veil to form a link, possibly more if an entity- such as an injured halfa- or anomaly- such as a rift of any kind- on the other side is draining whatever bleeds through. Your own presence may act to shorten that time somewhat if you can generate enough ectoplasm on site, but even then I would have to find you first. My abilities as an ectoplasmic entity rely wholly on manipulation of ectoplasm, and that includes my near omniscience. Should you ever find yourself in a location with sufficiently low ectoplasm, I would have a great deal of difficulty locating you; the link between our cores would mean that I would always be able to locate you eventually, but you would need to stay in one place for quite a while, which would rather defeat the purpose of emergency rescue."
"So if I ever need to hide from you because I actually manage to pull a prank on you which you don't see coming, all I have to do is find and then literally flee to one of a very select subset of alternate dimensions?"
"Pretty much. Although if you're hiding from me you would want to actively muddy the waters as well."
"Setting aside that I don't think I'd ever want to hide from you, Gramps, muddy the waters?"
"I'm a conceptual entity, Danny. I anchor to that concept in every single reality in which it exists. If the concept of time is sufficiently redirected to something or someone else to any degree, whatever portion has been redirected is therefore unavailable for me to latch onto. The same idea applies to Nocturn not being able to enter the DC Dimension because of their Dream of the Endless. Meanwhile, Pandora could enter almost at a whim if not for her guard duties, because that universe associates hope with her almost directly. In my case, anything strongly associated with the flow and concept of time could hinder me, while spreading my own name would allow me a greater share of any ectoplasm generated by the dimension.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok.
Danny could work with this.
He would have to keep traveling so that Clockwork- no, it was Chrona now- couldn't lock onto him or Dani-fused-to-the-dimensionally-traveling-speeder (He would have to workshop that).
If possible, he would also have to find a way to make a myth associated with time in an abnormal manner; the question was how to do that?
And he would need to do all of this while expending as little of his ectoplasm as possible, and probably supplementing Dani's whenever he could if she was ever going to have any chance of reconstituting.
He could definitely work with this; he refused to accept otherwise.
Maybe his parents had left some things he could use in the speeder before they were- 'Later!'
Hmm... No tools lying around... There was the weapons locker, but he should probably use whatever was in those ecto-batteries immediately so they wouldn't act as some kind of concentrated-ecto-homing-beacon. Maybe they could help Dani heal?
As he brought the disconnected batteries to the console in the center of the room, he saw it. There, sticking out of one of the panels which would probably have originally been the cup-holder in the center console before everything was transformed, was his dad's favorite 'screwdriver.' Not that it was even remotely recognizable as a screwdriver anymore; his dad had modified it so many times that it looked more like a futuristic laser pointer now. It had become his favorite hobby project before he was- 'LATER!'
He recognized this one as the version which required next to no ectoplasm to work, but as a trade-off had been completely unable to interact with wood for some reason. Something about still partially living matter and destructive interference with foreign emotional resonance as a naturally evolving survival mechanism in- Ramble 'later', focus on surviving now.
And Danny was actually starting to feel like he could find a way to survive with what he had. It was like his dad had always said about the screwdriver.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"See how many things it can do now, Dann'O! If I had tried to turn it into this version from the start it never would have worked; I would have gotten frustrated and had to move onto some other project for the sake of my sanity, and our house's walls. But since I took it one small change at a time, look at what I've been able to turn it into.
Incremental change, son! It's how any real change happens. If you want to accomplish something big, you try to choose the things which you think will lead towards wherever you want to end up, especially when they won't get you all the way there, big easy changes like that almost never stick for one reason or another. Over time those small steps add up, and you end up somewhere a lot better than where you started. So, what do you think you can do to apply that to working on your grades?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yeah, Danny could start to do something with what he had. He was still half alive, and could keep himself that way as long as he never stopped running long enough for Chrona to find and catch up to him. He had a Time and Dimensional and Relativistic Space ship (still not quite right, but better) with Dani fused into it to help him do just that. And he had his dad's screwdriver and advice.
So where should he start?
Well, if he wanted to build a myth, and to fulfill his obsessions wherever possible, protecting people while exploring all of time and space was probably as good a way as any. A time-traveling madman with an ever-changing camouflaged space-ship and a 'screwdriver', just passing through, helping out, was sure to get some attention.
It just needed a name to really give people something to latch onto.
He had just gotten his doctorate in engineering before everything went to hell, but as much as he'd like to use Dr. Fenton, that was just laying down a trail and begging Chrona to follow. His real name would probably have to be a closely guarded secret; the title was good though, so instead, he would just call himself
The Doctor.
Now, where should he run to next?
I HAVE RECENTLY DISCOVERED THE GREATEST CROSSOVER I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS IN THIS FANDOM AND CAN'T BELIEVE I NEVER EVEN CONSIDERED IT!!!!!!
Like imagine them being lost distant relatives that stumble across each other. Maybe the Addamses stumble across Danny first. Maybe Danny's out and about and ends up being drawn to their spooky, hella haunted mansion. Maybe he's in the Zone and he finds an ancestor who points him in the direction of the Addams' abode - or even better - maybe all the smaller ghosts he comes across turn around and run the moment they realise he's a Fenton - AKA the most notorious ghost hunters in the Zone - but one ghost takes one good look at him in all his freaky halfa glory and goes, "you're an Addams, aren't ya?", and Danny is confused AF.
-----------BUT COULD YALL IMAGINE!
The Addamses would be overjoyed to have a liminal spirit in the family!!!!!
Morticia would offer Danny a plot in the family cemetery and triple check that the house and surrounding areas were free of blood blossom - not that there were any there to begin with.
Gomez would throw an arm around his shoulder and teach him how to throw knives and cheat at poker. He'd find out that Danny has to walk to school in the mornings now that Jazz isn't there to drive him anymore and he'd insist that Lurch would be able to drop him and pick him up, anytime, anyplace, anywhere. Gomez insists that Lurch would even be able to find his way around the Ghost Zone so Danny wouldn't have to fly home after another one of Skulker's traps.
At first Danny would be a little creeped out by Fester - mostly due to Fester's subpar social skills and tendency to linger in the darker corners of the room. But then Fester offers him the room next to his own and teaches him new card games and shows him how to fish using sticks of dynamite. His lack of social awareness and giddy attitude reminds him of his dad.
Wednesday reminds him of Sam. She's fiercely protective and has a morbid, dry sense of humour. She comes up with a scarily efficient 13 step plan to eradicate the A listers. She has a never ending list of questions for him but never pushes the sensitive topics - mostly she just wants to know if he's come across any of their ancestors yet. He's surprised by how well they get along.
Pugsly never fails to try and involve him in whatever lethal games he and Wednesday often play. Danny introduces him to Cujo and the two of them spend an entire evening running through the cemetery digging up bones and coming up with ways to use his size-changing abilities in pranks. Danny's just glad there's finally someone else Cujo will listen to when he's not around.
Grandmama Frump seems slightly insane but it's not anything he isn't used to. She keeps giving him strange smelling stews and teas that he's only a little hesitant to drink. She reassures him that the stew has all the necessary nutrients for the recently deceased. He has no idea what that means but judging by the colour it's got a healthy dose of ectoplasm added in and he isn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth - even if he's yet to ask where exactly she managed to get that much ecto in the first place. The tea - he later finds out - is nothing but a mixture of dried herbs and flowers. A family recipe that never fails to put him to sleep.
He's a little apprehensive when he finds out that the Addamses have a butler - his mind immediately jumps to Vlad and how most insanely rich weirdos must treat their employed help. He soon witnesses the way they treat Lurch with as much love and respect as they treat each other and all his doubts fade away like smoke. One day after a surprisingly brutal attack by the box ghost - which leaves his pride more than a little bruised - he finds Lurch parked outside the alleyway he used to transform back into Fenton. He already knows that trying to make conversation with the guy is useless and that he'll only reply in half mumbled grunts and moans. He's sore and dripping in foul smelling puddle water and doesn't have the energy to even try turning away, so he just sighs and slides his way into the back seat. He thinks he's being taken back home to Fentonworks or even back to the Manor to be patched up, but he drifts off and when he wakes up they're already in line at the Nasty Burger drive through with Lurch handing a wad of cash to the wide-eyed worker in the payment window. He ends up with enough food to crowd the backseat along with a mountain of napkins to dry himself off and a dozen frosty milkshakes to soothe his busted lip and two black eyes. He offers Lurch a handful of fries and is given a crooked half-stiff smile in return. When he does eventually get dropped off - after about an hour or two of driving around in circles so he could finish his meal undisturbed, only stopping to pick up a harried looking Sam and Tucker off the side of the road, who had apparently been looking for him since school ended more than half an hour ago - he's given a firm pat on the head and a slip of paper with a barley legable phone number scrawled in red ink. The next time he stops by the Manor he makes sure to pick up an extra large strawberry fudge shake and discovers that Lurch has a rather large sweet tooth and an equally large grin.
But I bet that the moment they find out that Maddie and Jack have threatened their son with genuine bodily harm they would 100% be willing to donate their personal guillotine for the good of the family. Cause ya know, torture and dismemberment is only fun if everyone involved is having a good time. And honestly, the manor has so many rooms that are collecting perfectly good dust with no one to put it to good use. The Addamses look out for each other, regardless of how distantly related or how seemingly dead you are.
Danny can't wait to introduce Jazz.
----------------------------------------------
I actually wrote this as a reblog of the first DP x Addams post that I came across (@limbless-ghosts). It was like an epiphany and I literally keyboard smashed this out while I was meant to be watering my plants. So I'm chucking what I wrote into its own post cause I recently also found out that reblogs don't pop up when you use the search bar and I need more people to be aware of this.
Also cause I'm kinda surprised but how little Addams content there is - not in relation to the new Wednesday series - like, there is still a lot but I honestly thought there would be more. I also thought the Addams fandom on ao3 would be better but it is criminally lacking.
Anyways,,,,,,, welcome to my new fixation - there will be more 🙃
✨Rewriting the Daniel Masters AU ✨
(a little less sleep deprived this time, here's the og sleep deprived post )
So the whole premise of this AU is that Vlad's main obsession was getting revenge on jack (in the og post I said it was family but I'm changing it a bit here) and a ghost's main job is to fulfill their obsession right? That's how they grow stronger, that's how they survive and even half ghosts are no different.
But let's just say that being half ghost does make your obsession have a little less control over you, which is why Vlad isn't straight up trying to kill Jack from the get go.
So Vlad just kidnaps toddler Danny
His whole plan was to kidnap Danny, turn hik into a halfa too and then raise him as his son and bask in Jack's sorrow– the only problem is that his portal isn't complete yet.
It takes exactly one year to complete the portal. By the end of it, Vlad and Danny have bonded a lot, with a lot of tired dad and chaos badger shenanigans to show for it. (And unbeknownst to him, his obsession slowly shifts from revenge to family)
And Vlad finds he can't go through with his plan anymore. Maybe it's because he genuinely cares for Danny. Maybe because he's learned to love Danny like a son. Maybe it's because he remembers what it was like when he was slowly inching towards death in a hospital ward.
Whatever the reason, he can't do it.
And so he doesn't.
Life moves on, Vlad and Danny grow together until Daniel's 14th birthday, when he finds a secret room in his basement and it all comes crashing down.
Turns out, Vlad never fully disabled the portal.
You know, Jazz thought she knew everything about Danny's situation. She saw him transform and knew he was Phantom, she knew it was from when the portal was opened, she knew he was really powerful for a ghost. And as she stood by his side while he explained to their parents who he was, she was certain she knew exactly what he was going to say.
Ghosts were people, just made of different stuff.
Halfa was a new word, but having a name for what Danny was compared to other ghosts was good.
Vlad was also a halfa, of course, that made sense.
Danny defeated the Ghost King? DAnny was the NEW GHOST KING?
Danny time traveled and fought an evil future version of himself?
Vlad tried to clone him? DANNY HAS A CLONE?
"Surprise! You have two daughters! - andtechnicallytwosonsbuthe'sinprisonsohe'snothere"
A little girl appeared out of nowhere. She looked just like Danny but shorter and with longer hair.
Her parents, of course, accepted Dani with an I with open arms. It was already crazy enough that their son was half ghost, might as well throw in another kid. Though they did offer her a new name, one that would have been Danny's if he'd been born a girl, and she would eventually accept it, but right now...
"Why didn't you tell me you had a clone?"
He looked at Jazz and shrugged, "You never asked?"
"Why would I ask if you had a clone? That's not something people have! And I've never seen this girl in my life!"
"I wasn't hiding her from you," Danny shrugged again, "We just weren't ready for introductions yet."
"Where's she been all this time?"
"Exploring, she hasn't existed for a particularly long time."
"Just? Out in the world?"
"Yeah"
"Did she have money? Food? Where did she sleep?"
"That's her business. She came back whenever she needed stuff."
"Are you insane? I could have helped!" Jazz was on ther verge of tears. She took a deep breath, "I can't believe this. I've had a little sister this whole time?"
She looked at Dani, still stuck in her father's bear hug, "I can't breathe!"
"Technically, you don't have to," Danny responded, walking up to them and convincing their dad to put Dani down.
"Yeah, okay. That's not what's important right now." Jazz glared at Danny that warned, "We're talking later." Then she turned back to her dad and little sister, laughed and lunged at the girl to give her another bear hug the moment their dad put her down, "Welcome to the family, Little Dani!"
The Halfa King and His Court
So this is a fic that I started at the beginning of the pandemic that I kinda just hit a block with. I really like it as a starting point, but I’m not sure what else to do with it. I had a sort of bullet point outline but it seemed more like I was just tossing in every different DP fic plot line all together so it wasn’t going to make much sense. I was going to have there be a field trip into the GZ where the Trio judge whether the a-listers and Val have changed enough to have them join in with Team Phantom, there was going to be a reveal to his parents of him and then later on after Plasmius had been helping out then Vlad as well. It was gonna be this whole thing, but anyway. I’m not sure if I will continue this, so feel free to add your own spin on it or take it for adoption, I’m not sure how to do that exactly.
*****
“No.” Danny said, in a tone that rang with finality and a general sense of “I am so done with this whole situation.”
“Danny, I know this is hard to believe, but technically by the laws of the Ghost Zone Frostbite gave to you-” Sam started, only to get cut off by Danny's glare. She sighed. “Seriously Danny, it says right here in the text he gave you.” Sam shoved the scroll at Danny who scoffed and passed it off to Tucker.
“Oh man Danny, do you know what we could do with this? The new laws you could put in place?” Tucker laughed as he read what was written.
“The protections you could put in place for Amity and the Earth?” Sam hinted at poking Danny in the shoulder. Danny sighed.
“Guys, I get it, I could use this to my advantage, but there's so much more responsibility to go with it. I'd have to take over the general affairs from the Observants and Walker, though I guess Walker would have to do what I say wouldn't he.” Danny seemed to think about it.
“Let's say I did do this, what would I do? I don't have time to take care of the whole Ghost Zone! I'd need to pick advisers and establish some sort of method for figuring out small disputes, some way of checks and balances. Guys, you know I'm failing History and Government, and this is basically saying that I'd get complete control over the Ghost Zone and have to set-up an entirely new system!” He gripped his hair in frustration and panic. And it caused his friends to sit and think some solutions through.
“Well,” Sam began, “you could start with getting a few people you know that do know about this kind of stuff together and getting their opinion about it. Frostbite, Dora, Clockwork, Pandora, maybe Ghostwriter from what we know of his library and... maybe... Vlad?” she added the last person hesitantly. Danny shot a look at her of surprise and confusion, dropping his hands from his hair to his lap.
“Vlad? Why the hell would I ask him for anything?” He was honestly baffled as to why she would bring him up.
“Besides the fact that he has more knowledge of modern government compared to the others I listed, I think he would relish the idea of being able to mentor you at something.”She paused to consider something. “He seems to have calmed down a bit after his last scheme almost got your mom killed instead of your dad. He almost seems to realize now that your mom is completely dedicated to your dad and finds him a bit creepy. I mean, last time he was over, he actually asked Jazz some stuff right? Doesn't he usually ignore her completely?”
“Crazy-man acting less crazy?” Tucker snorted. “I'll believe it when I see it.”
Danny thought about it for a second and realized that Sam was right, he hadn't needed to fight the Fruit-loop since his last scheme put his mom in the hospital. She was fine, just had a concussion and a fractured leg, but it still had shaken him. In fact, Danny hadn't seen any sign of Vlad as either Masters or Plasmius since the incident except for when he visited when Mom first got out of the hospital.
“Yeah, maybe you're right, I should go and pay Uncle Vladdie a visit.” Danny stood and paused. “Should I bring the scroll with me to show him as proof? I doubt he'd believe me if I just told him.”
“Yeah, probably should. It's not anything that he can modify to fit his own needs anyway, just a list of laws.” Sam rolled it up and handed it to him. “Want either of us to come with?” She offered.
“Nah, I should be good to visit the cheese-head on my own. You guys mind covering for me until I get back?” They were supposed to be having a study-sleepover at Sam's.
“Sure thing, we’ll just cover our electives while you’re gone and tell my parents you went to get pizza.” Sam fished out some cash and handed it to Danny. “Actually, while you’re out can you grab some?”
“Sure, the usual?” Danny put the scroll and the money in his pocket.
“Yup, a large all veggie vegan cheese for me.”
“And a large extra meaty supreme for me!”
Danny laughed, “and a large extra cheese for me. I’ll place the order as I’m leaving Vlad’s. I’ll be back as soon as I can.” With that he transformed and took off through the ceiling.
Tucker turned to Sam. “Do you really think going to Mayor wack-job is a good idea?”
Sam sighed. “Tucker, you weren’t there that day, the look on his face when he saw Mrs. Fenton take the hit instead of Mr. Fenton…” Sam looked away thinking. “He looked devastated, and not just in the ‘the love of my life will never love me’ way but more in the ‘my actions are hurting those I love’ way. He looked like he realized that if he continued the way he was going that he might just accidentally kill either Mrs. Fenton or Danny and I think that would hurt him more than anything.”
“We have a ghost problem in Gotham” Terry says
“I don’t think so.. I’ve seen everything, Zombies, vampires, only one ghost though..”
“A real ghost?” Terry asks while sitting on the desk, Bruce was repairing the Suit sitting down in a chair.
“She was a half ghost but yes. She was once the ward of Vlad masters, she came to Gotham when she was 17, the two of them weren’t on good terms.”
“Woah, rich kid huh?”
“Didn’t act like it, but she was dangerous, vindictive too. She didn’t love that i wasn’t willing to go the extra mile in stopping bad guys” Bruce continues working on the suit not looking up
“Freaky.. Wait, wouldn’t she be like 40 by now?”
Bruce looks up at Terry and sighs. He stands walking over to the bat computer “Computer bring up file on Clover Morte.”
“Clover Morte, previous identities unknown, alias: Reaper, Age:17, metahuman powers: increased strength, intangibility, invisibility, increased sight, flight, overshadowing, ghostly fire, immortality, other powers unknown.”
“Do you know where she is? or how to find her?”
“I have a few ideas, you worry about the bad guys, i’ll worry about finding the ghost who haunts Gotham.”
“Right.” Terry puts on his suit and heads out in the batmobile.
Bruce steps into the middle of the small graveyard in Park Row, his cane hitting an inground plaque he side steps to not stand on the grave.
“My eyes must be deceiving me! Is that the one and only Bruce Wayne? The living ghost?” A voice asks from the shadows
“I could say the same about you Reaper.” Bruce turns to where he heard the voice
“Ain’t nobody called me that, not in a long time..” Clover says landing silently in front of Bruce
“You still look good for 37..” He smirks down at the young ghost, her body still looking 17
“You look good too, for a dead guy.” A burst of fire lights from her hand as she passes Bruce patting him on the shoulder with her non burning hand “So, whatcha need? There’s no way you’d see me just to visit.”
“You ever talked to your Dad before he passed?” Bruce follows her and Clover slows her pace so they can walk side by side
“Vlad? Oh no he’s alive and well, he’s also a halfa, naturally created halfas age slower than humans, but they age.” She pauses and opens up a decently sized mausoleum to have a dry place for the two to talk.
“Ah.. That’s good to know that Mr. Masters is alive, still, that bastard’s probably going to live longer than Mcginnis.”
“You’re the one who's going to outlive us all Bruce..” She steps further in motioning for him to follow “So that’s your new ward? Or maybe the new Batman that I've been hearing whispers about?” Clover pulls up a chair for Bruce to sit, clearly she had made this some sort of home. A cot bed in the corner, a couple empty takeout containers sit in a trash bag, looking around Bruce is seriously considering offering Clover a room
“Perceptive as ever. You know you should really talk to Vlad before it’s too late.”
“I mean we’ve talked, he knows I'm alive.. well half alive, but still. He understands that my place is here. Though I haven’t seen him in about 3 or 4 years now, I'm really thinking about it..” She pauses and looks at Bruce, his eyes darting around inspecting the room
“I don’t need a room Bruce. This is my haunt, take me away from it and I won’t hesitate to bring your spirit here myself.” She glares at him and he can’t tell if she’s being serious or not.
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” He sighs, eyes focusing back on the ghost girl. She lights a couple of small torches on the walls with the fire from her hand. A bright green ring glows around her waist; it splits and starts to change her body, her hair falling from its fiery ponytail, to equally fiery red hair that reaches her shoulders, her bangs black and eyes a bright green. She now looks to be 17 or 18 but her face looks just as aged as someone in their late twenties. Her eyes suckin in, mouth positioned in a frown, she looks troubled. Bruce can tell she isn’t hiding it either.
“Ok, spit it out.. you didn’t just come here to pass along fatherly advice, and exchange pleasantries.”
“Mcginnis says we have a ghost problem. But i’m not so sure. It seems to..” Bruce pauses searching for the right words “high school to be a real ghost.”
“What do you want me to do? Play high school?” She crosses her arms and leans against one of the walls
“That might be a good idea.. Mcginnis does need someone out there who I trust helping him learn the ropes.”
Clover sighs “My guy.. I was joking, I'm not going back to school. Last time it was kinda a hellhole.”
“I’m sure it gets lonely here..” Bruce says
“One; that was out of pocket, two; Jason visits quite often ok?” she pauses “I know what you're doing.. I quite enjoy my simple life I've carved for myself so why don’t you stop trying to carve your dick into it.” She glares her green eyes turning a bright blue for a moment
“It would be good to get to know your peers.” He continues to push her buttons
“Oh yeah, like I'll be able to connect with a bunch of teens who were just sperm when I started my haunt.” She rolls her eyes
“It would be nice to have an inside man. Dont adult actors play teens all the time?” He questions.
She sighs, “If you stop nagging I’ll give you one week. When we get this figured out and I'm back in this graveyard. If you make me stay any longer I swear I will make good on my threat.”
Bruce just nods then sticks out his hand for a handshake, clover grasps it tightly “Death.. I can’t believe that worked..” She balls up her fist and hits it to her forehead.
Our Empty Graves I
Fandom: Danny Phantom / Batman: Under the Red Hood
Pairings: Danny Fenton/Jason Todd (Dead on Main)
Rating: Mature
Tags: batfamily, hazmat AU, Nobody Knows AU, Mute!Phantom, potential ghost king danny, slow burn?, DC means Disregard Canon, AU means AU nothing is exactly the same, Angst with a Happy Ending, Hurt/Comfort, more than canon typical violence, danny is a Halfa and also a Fetch, no beta we die like basically everyone
Summary: They say that Red Hood has a loyal mutt. The man rules his territory in Crime Alley with an iron fist and a guard dog at his side. They say that Hood calls him Fetch, sometimes Fetcher. No one's ever heard him speak. Anyone who's ever seen him says he looks like an experiment gone wrong, that Hood picked him up somewhere unspeakable. They say he'll do anything Red Hood asks of him and he'll do it well. That he's strong and fast and probably inhuman. The girls say he's sweet; quiet but charming in his own way. Rival gangs say he's vicious; that he'd sooner rip your throat out than let you go.
Jason just wants to help him.
Chapter 1: im sorry mom ive got to go (I dug this grave I call my home)
Chapter Notes: title from Lonely by Palaye Royale Links: AO3 // Chapter 2
Danny stared down the barrel of his mother’s gun.
“How dare you,” she said, voice hoarse and barely there. Her hands were shaking. He knew, though, as he looked into the toxic green of the blaster, that her aim would hold true regardless.
He said nothing. Even if he was physically capable of speech in this form he would have nothing to say. He was exhausted, on all levels. He couldn’t do this anymore. His parents were the last of the stubborn Amity Parkers that refused to leave and there was no avoiding them when he was trying to defend what was left of his haunt, trying to defend the portal so that any ghosts causing mischief would steer clear. For their sake and his. The GIW had been in rare form lately and he wasn’t ready to find more ghosts strapped to a table.
He didn’t know how long it had been since the town was pulled into the Realms, stuck after he’d defeated Pariah with no way of sending everyone back to the material plane. But it felt like a long time now. He’d lost track of the exact date since he’d given up on being human.
“Where is he,” she snarled, shoving the gun closer, feet away from his face. “What did you do with my son?”
He could give nothing but a rattling echoey sigh, distorted and piercing. A smaller version of his ghostly wail and about the only sound he could make without mass destruction.
He was tired. Exhausted from his latest fight with Skulker. The hunter would not rest until he’d gained the rarest pelt of them all. Phantom’s. The child ghost. The Halfa. The Fetch. The ultimate prize. He didn’t have anything left in him after getting Skulker to leave, fighting for what was left of his life and winning by a hair. He couldn’t just dump the ghosts in the Ghost Zone anymore, not when he also lived there. They were either put in time out in the thermos or fought off. Everything within his body ached. Everything within his soul ached. He didn’t think he could survive this confrontation with his mother and he almost felt like… he didn’t want to.
He lay limp where he’d fallen after battle, resting against his own empty grave. His dad and Jazz had insisted on having the funeral after his first full year of being missing. His mom had gone off the deep end and refused to believe he was dead. She was only half right.
“You’re sitting on his grave,” she yelled, voice cracking with tears. “Where is he?”
He shook his head. He’d long since given up on returning to his family. On ever being human again. He died in that accident and pretending otherwise, no matter that he somehow wasn’t a full ghost, would only hurt everyone in the long run. He’d already hurt them so, so much.
His mom and dad were the last ones left in Amity and they needed to let go. They were already reduced to staying at a hotel for a good majority of the time, unable to stay within the Realms with their puny human bodies for long. They needed to move out, permanently. He couldn’t bare to see them waste away here. One Fenton haunting the Zone was enough.
After a few good beats of silence she drew closer- her gun drew closer. Her steps crunched in the dead grass around them, cast a sickly green from the glow of the neon sky.
“You wear the same HazMat my husband and I designed,” she said quietly. “You showed up the same time Danny had his accident.” The barrel of the gun made contact with the tinted shield that hid his face. “I need answers!” she screamed.
He knew his mother wasn’t dumb, however willfully ignorant his parents seemed at times. She was so close to connecting the impossible dots, but knew she would never make them. She didn’t want to. She wanted her son back and all that was left was a monster.
He could see his reflection in her goggles. The bright green pin-pricks that counted as eyes. The inhuman shape of the suit swallowing him. The face shield blocking any recognizable features and the entire ghostly glow that surrounded him. Maddie’s own face was hidden behind the face shield of her suit, but if he looked close enough he could see the fear and denial within her once familiar lilac eyes.
He pulled the gun closer and held it to his head. He was so, so tired.
“I watched your fight with Pariah, you know,” she whispered. “I saw how you Ended him.”
A jolt of surprise and fear flooded down his spine, his grip on the gun tightening. He hated being reminded of what he’d had to do to Pariah. Hated the blood on his hands and the feeling of the core he’d crushed within them. But this was another level. She saw him End another. His mother had witnessed him become a murderer.
“I could End you too, you know,” she said, a deep sadness in her tone. The fear within him spiked. She reached out a gentle hand and cradled his head. “End my little boy’s pain.”
Breath he didn’t need caught in his throat, a strangled sound erupting from his core. Inhuman and full of terror. He’d already been willing to let his mother shoot him, to let her take out her pain on his aching body. But she could actually End him here. She could End him knowing he was her son.
Pain like nothing else ripped through him, his emotions growing erratic and effecting his form. Everything warped and he dropped the gun like it burned as he scrambled back against his headstone, trying in vain to gather enough energy to fly. To get away.
“Hold still for me, won’t you, dear?”
Panic built within his chest, his core (his fragile, tiny core) rattling against his ribs. His arms and legs felt impossibly heavy as he clawed at the dirt to move away, digging and digging as he tried to hoist himself up over the headstone.
Here Lies Daniel J. Fenton Beloved Son and Brother Gone Before His Time June 13th 19XX – August 16th 20XX
And wasn’t it funny, somehow? That he’d be dying, forever and fully, over his own empty grave?
He could feel the heat of the blaster warming up for the killing blow. Sense the necrotic scent of rancid ectoplasm building behind him. It would take more than one shot to End him, to cleave him open enough for her to snatch his core. To crush it.
“It won’t hurt too bad, baby,” his mom cooed. An edge to her voice he couldn’t identify. “Just like getting a shot at the pediatrician’s all over again.”
He couldn’t let this happen. He couldn’t, he couldn’t, he couldn’t. He was tired but he didn’t want to End. Not here, not now. Not at the hands of his mother. He couldn’t do that to her. Couldn’t let her shoulder that awful, awful guilt. He needed to get away. He needed so, so desperately to leave. Amity had long since emptied. There was no one left to protect within his Haunt. He needed to leave.
Something gave way beneath his leg, dirt folding into empty space with a horrific lurch. His face smashed into the ground as he unbalanced.
She shot him in the leg first. The one not buried in the dirt and hanging into nothingness.
A shattered wail was building in his core, as close to a scream as he could get. He was trying to gasp in as much air as he could through the clumps of dirt and fetid rot that surrounded all graves. He could feel the leak of warm ectoplasm leaving his burning limb. The more he lost the more it would take to recover. And the more it would take to get away.
She caught an arm next. It felt like she was toying with him. Pinning him down like yet another specimen to examine on the table. He could feel bone crack with the point blank range shot, his skin partially melting with the heat and bleeding even more toxic green ooze. He used his other arm to claw further into the depths. He didn’t know what was beyond this, but if he dug in enough maybe he could fall through. His hand hit something solid and he cried, desperate to break through and escape. It was his only option. He kicked at it with his leg, steel toe of his boot just barely scratching its surface. His hands were closer to whatever shape it made under the dirt. He punched instead.
She shot the base of his spine and he could feel his nerves twitch and writhe uselessly. She shot him again in the same spot and they fell still. He couldn’t feel them anymore. His digging and punching grew more frantic. He used his broken arm despite the pain, just needing to get away, away, away.
Cuts and bruises from his fight with Skulker were making themselves known in the frenzy, screaming and burning with his hurried movements. The knock to the head he’d gotten wasn’t helping things either. Everything was going blurry with panic and it hurt, hurt, hurt. He was sobbing without sound and the shaking of his core was constricting his lungs and making his chest heave. He was an animal caught in a trap, eating away at its own flesh in order to flee. To live.
Bright green broke through the ground in jagged lines, crackling with power as he felt his bleeding knuckles shatter whatever barrier had lain under the empty space. Everything gave way and the last thing he could hear was his mother’s screaming as he plummeted. Sweet relief overcame the dread as black filled his vision.
═════ ◈ ═════
He woke, sometime later, on another man’s grave.
Okay, so I'm not exactly in the Phandom but hear me out:
An AU where Danny hasn't been revealed as a halfa (does the phandom still use that word?) and in which Maddie dies in an unforseen accident while on a trip out of state. Vlad at first tries to take advantage of Jack but ends up not having the heart for it after seeing how distraught Jack is and is like "you know what?! this does suck! and he's the only who can understand my pain." The two then rekindle their friendship over the loss of Maddie and Vlad tries to be a better friend to Jack but struggles with his past.
It turns out Maddie became a ghost but she's so weak in her new state, she's stuck at the location of her death and can't figure out how to get in touch with her loved ones. She has conflicting feelings of becoming a ghost and works through this new state of being. Befriending a local spirit, Maddie figures out how to leave her location but becomes lost in the Ghost Zone.
Danny, who had been away with Sam overseas for a college semester, finally gets back to Amity Park. He wasn't aware of how close his dad and long term enemy had been getting. Now Vlad and Danny have to work through their complicated relationship with this new situation.
Together the two of them with Jack find out what happened with Maddie. Upon discovering she's lost in the Ghost Zone, Danny reluctantly teams up with Vlad to track her down and bring her back home.
Haven't worked out what Jazz and Tucker have been doing in tandem with all this and I'm not quite happy with Danny's angle either but that's what I've got so far... Not sure if Danny and Vald would reveal themselves as half ghosts to Jack and Maddie but I do think that them being half ghosts could be used as a reassurance for Maddie as a full ghost.
Lots of angst and tons of healing and growth. Just putting this out there because I've been thinking about it all week and I'm trying to get more into the Phandom.
So how OP are you making AFO in this? Because of how little we know about AFO I've seen fics make him about where he is in canon where he can only steal quirks no idea what they are until he takes them (excluding observation obviously) to he knows exactly what your quirk is the moment he see's you.
If he's the second type imagine his suprise at this boy who's clearly using a quirk registering with no quirk at all. If it's the first imagine him finally touching Izuku (through a bait and switch probably like how Overhaul hit Mirio with a quirk erasing bullet) only for it to come up empty.
SO ABOUT THAT
Personally I vibe with yeah he doesn't know your Quirk outside of what it appears to be. So he has to study someone in advance and/or ask questions about the Quirk to learn things about it. I think /at most/ it could share the ability with Copy where it will transfer basic 'how to activate the Quirk' knowledge when he steals it, but he wouldn't know everything or about any side effects or all that nonsense and again it only pops up once he takes it. So no 'looking at you and knows everything'.
WHICH LIKE
Y'all know I'm on the 'Dad for One' train. And while I haven't solidified how that reveal gets kickstarted in my main AU(I have narrowed it down to two thoughts). I do have plans for 'everyone is sus as hell so they ask Inko how much she remembers about Izuku's bio dad'
One of the things Inko comments on is how the man had been very interested in her Quirk. Asking her all sorts of questions about its functionality. She just laughs it off with 'I guess you must have inherited his love of analysis!' while everyone else listening is giving the hardest side eye.
Back to the Halfa!Izuku thing though!
Yeah can you fucking imagine this bitch. Tries to grab Izuku to steal his Quirk only to get absolutely fucking nothing? The level of what the fuckery? Beautiful.
Phic Phight - This Son Of Mine
For: @nocturna-starr @idiot-cheesehead-archenemy
Immortality was an interesting way to live, and maybe it was also hereditary? Either way, Jack’s son is a unique one!
Danny side-eyes the writing intern Vlad had, who gags and passes out, then side-eyeing his dad, “uhhhhhh”. Vlad also gives both Daniel and Jack cautious looks; while also subtly helping hold Daniel’s recently chopped-off arm to the arm stump. You know, just in case the very much distracted boy forgets to keep holding it there while also holding his torso together.
The blood splattered all across Danny’s side and the floor is very noticeable, and the blood dripping sounds seemingly echo around the now silent room. No one actually moving, beyond the guy who passed out, so much as a muscle. But after a bit… Jack gives his son a sympathetic look, holding his hands up slightly and moving to walk over as if Danny might be an easily startled cat, “here, let me help you with that”; not noticing the way Vlad tenses and watches him like a hawk ready to protect its chick.
Danny stepping back a bit before screwing up his face, “dad… why do you sound so calm about this”. Seriously what the fuck? His dad just… looked concerned… and maybe a bit apologetic.
Jack swallows a little, unsure what exactly to say. How do you tell your son that he’s probably immortal and you likely gave that to him?! Even if his own way of dealing with it was a near-perpetual cheer, that didn’t make it a really good thing! Glancing to Vlad, now noticing that his old friend doesn’t seem surprised himself. Did Vlad know? Oh of course he must! They were buddies after all! And Danny-boy did visit him a lot. Maybe this wasn’t a first time thing? He almost physically smacks his own forehead, of course it wasn’t! His Danny wasn’t freaking out. If anything he just seemed freaked out by what his own father's reaction might be! Such a caring kid! Caring and probably scared. Clearing his throat, “V-man, you think you could get a chair for him?”. Vladdie gives him a strange unreadable look, but does get Danny a chair like the awesome uncle he is!
Danny sits down slowly and very awkwardly, sharing a ‘what the actual fuck’ glance with Vlad, Vlad’s own glance conveying that the man had no fucking clue either. Both halfas just sort of… watching Jack also sit down close by, pulling up to be nearly touching Danny’s knees and motioning for Danny to move his hand a little. Danny does so purely because he has no goddamn clue what else to do! His dad, and Vlad’s new hire, just saw him get nearly chopped in half diagonally from left arm to waist; his arm coming off entirely! And his dad was just… not fucking reacting! Staring at his dad while he pulls out a little stitch kit from somewhere in his suit, “dad… what the fuck”.
And his dad doesn’t even chastise the swearing! Sure Vlad doesn’t either but! He was likely as freaked out as Danny was! His dad's smile is very awkwardly, “yeah I guess I should probably explain myself, huh, Danno?”.
Danny practically squeaks, “yeah”. Feeling vaguely terrified of the response he’s gonna get.
Jack winces a little, he should have probably explained this to his kids, current kids, sooner. But explaining to his current wife before they got married had been awkward and stressful enough, and! none of his kids had ever inherited this before! So maybe he usually saved the conversation for when they were in their late twenties… or not at all if they wound up not getting along with him very well as adults. That always hurt. But! He should explain things. Clearing his throat, quickly apologising for just… not saying anything for a hot minute there, “sorry”, shrugging a little but keeping his hands steady, “I’ve just never had to actively explain this before!”, and chuckling awkwardly, “usually it’s more of a late-twenties conversation”.
“Dad, what is a late-twenties conversation???”.
Oh he is just confusing him more, oh he is not good at this at all! Glancing at Vladdie, it would be really nice if his bud would help him out here, but well Danny was his son and Jack had never actually explained things to Vlad to his knowledge. Looking back to his son, “well, ah, you see, I’m actually immortal”, chuckling slightly while the other two stare at him, “I’ve, uh, actually been around for some five hundred years”, his chuckling getting extremely awkward when they just keep staring, “Jack Fenton’s not even my real name! But John Fentonightingale sounds real dated in this era!”. Oh he wants them to say something!
Vlad answers his prayer by wheezing a little and turning away to the side, pinching the bridge of his nose, “this explains an awful lot”. Making Jack wonder if his friend didn’t actually know about his immortality but maybe just Danny-boy’s? Wonder how that happened! Vladdie also looks just slightly miffed though so maybe he’s a little mad and Jack should really not ask for deets right now.
Danny rounds on Vlad, keeping his body still enough for Jack to keep working on him though. Jack’s not super happy that that hints at this being very much not the first time. Danny asking very accusatory, “does it?!?!?”.
Vlad sighs looking back at Danny, “boy, just think for once. He’s almost more accident-prone than you”. Danny sticks out his tongue at Vlad. Leaving Jack, not for the first time, wondering just how close the two were.
But… Jack speaks back up, trying for gentle, “so you’ve been injured like this before then? How often? And Danny, why didn’t you tell us?”. His son sputtering at him, “why didn’t you tell me and Jazz you were immortal?!?!”. Making Jack wince which results in Danny look apologetic and quickly adding on in a smaller tone, “sorry, guess you did already say you were going to… eventually”.
Jack finishes up his last stitch, belatedly realising his son hadn’t so much as flinched the entire time which was extremely worrying. Him sitting back in his chair, “no, you have every right to be upset. I mean! It must have been really startling the first few times! And with no one explaining anything to you!”, rubbing his neck, “if I had been around at the time then I really would have”.
Danny just blinks, “uhhhhh”. Making Jack come to the conclusion that Danny just didn’t really want to talk about it. Understandable! Going through something that should kill you and then not was pretty upsetting! Or traumatising as Jazzy-pants would say!
Jack readjusts, “soooooo”, and not really knowing what else to say at the moment. Watching Vlad rub circles into his temples, sighing exasperatedly, “Jack, the reason the boy didn’t tell you is that you are too excitable and, frankly, if you were more observant he wouldn’t have had to”, glaring a little and dropping his hands, “not to mention the simple fact that teenagers seldom tell adults things they think might upset the household”, sighing again, “add in how much Daniel here is opposed to making others worry about him”, glaring at Danny, who rolls his eyes, “it is very much a bad habit of yours, Daniel”.
Now that comment genuinely worries Jack. If that was a habit of Danny’s then he’d probably gotten hurt like this a lot. Eyeing his son with worry, “well in the future could you please tell me, or your mom she knows about me, when you get hurt like this?”. Vlad actually snorts at that, “get him to work on his writing skills by doing up weekly reports”.
Danny looks scandalised, “Vlad!”. While Jack just looks at his son in worry.
“‘Weekly’ Danny?”.
Danny blushes a bit and rubs his neck, completely unhindered by the healing injury, “ummmm. I’m really accident prone?”. Vlad huffs a laugh at that.
Jack sighs, glancing at the ground quickly then back up, “well I’m sorry to hear that”, rubbing his neck, “getting hurt is a whole lot of not fun!”. Actually getting a chuckle out of his son, “heh, yeah”. Vladdie just shakes his head disbelievingly.
Jack speaking back up again, “so do you have any, you know, questions? I imagine you do!”.
“Uh, I mean I guess? How are you even immortal?”.
Jack shrugs, “cursed by a witch. Yeah that’s a real thing. Not fun!”. Barely not hear Vlad muttering, “likely did something to deserve it”; so Jack has no clue why his son just randomly glared at Vlad. Though what Jack does notice that Danny’s wound is almost entirely healed up! Leaning forward to touch at the stitch work, which Danny goes a bit still for, “wow you heal fast!”. His son glancing down and touching the mark, “yeah, yeah I do”, chuckling awkwardly, “really glad for that honestly”.
“Yeah I heal a bit faster than normal myself! Definitely useful!”.
Everyone turning their heads as the intern on the ground groans. Danny jumping up, nearly startling Jack into falling backwards out of his chair, and going to grab up his destroyed shit, “uhhhhh”. Vlad saves his butt by tossing a dress shirt from somewhere at his face. Jack chuckling a little at Danny glaring before putting on the dress shirt -that weirdly fits him perfectly- in a rushed panic. Jack could understand, he was pretty quick to cover up his own mortal wounds too! His sweet Maddie seeing that was one thing, though he did try to avoid that! She always got a little nervous about it, would worry that the next injury would be finally fatal to him; but at this point, he thinks he’s had nearly every injury under the sun! So he doesn’t sweat it.
The intern sitting up, rubbing his head and glancing back to the three. Him swallowing, “um. So uh, did the kid just die?”. And makes a little squeak when Vlad narrows his eyes at the man, “you. You say nothing”. Jack has never heard such a level of threat from Vladdie before. It’s a little startling actually! Danny glaring at Vlad a little, and sounding warning himself, “Vlad”.
Vlad stick his nose up in the air, “my boy, I will protect you in my own way whether you like it or not”, huffing, “same as you do to me”. Danny rolls his eyes and Jack just beams, glad he’s sharing a friend with his son… or more so that his son and his son's uncle are fiercely protective of each other anyway!
The intern puts up his hands, “okay I knew working for one of the richest men alive in a shady haunted town was maybe not the best idea, but Jesus”. Vlad glaring again, “nothing”.
Jerking his hands up in surrender even more, “yup! Nothing! You got it boss man!”, pointing one raised hand at the door, “can… can I go now. Please”. Vlad scowls but shoos him off dismissively, “very well, but if I hear so much as a peep from you, your entire lineage will wish they had never been born”. The intern gulps, nods, and flees; (and if the man later notices a slight bump in his pay he says nothing. Well aware that you DO NOT talk about hush money).
Jack chuckles a little awkwardly, rubbing his neck, “I wouldn’t worry. No one ever believes it anyway”. Immortality was just impossible to most people like that.
“Yes well, I’m not interested in such unnecessary risks”.
Jack grins, “at least now I know I can count on you to really look out for my Danno!”. Vlad rolls his eyes though smiles a little, “that is one thing you can absolutely count on me for”.
“Vlad! Oh my Ancients!”. Danny then pouting when Vlad messes with his hair. Jack shaking his head at the two‘s antics, giving Vlad an amused smile, “you’ll look after him for me right? So I can go let Maddie dear know not to worry about us being so late”, and rubs his neck. She might be worrying sick a little! “And maybe take out the stitches in a bit since he’s such a fast healer”.
“Oh of course, Jack”.
Danny just rolls his eyes.
Jack looking to his son, “you okay with me telling your mom for you? About this? You getting my immortality quirk?”. Danny shrugs awkwardly, “I mean, I guess? Definitely better than trying to awkwardly explain myself”. Jack can’t help but laugh at that and give his son a silly little thumbs-up, getting a laugh out of him back. Jack waving a bit erratically as he takes his leave; Danny waving a little back and Vlad simply watching with his hands behind his back.
Vlad blinks after a while, “Daniel”.
“Yeah Vlad?”.
“I want you to know, that your luck genuinely terrifies me”.
“Honestly? Same”, Danny blinking and speaking up again after a bit, “I feel a little bad that he’s got the totally wrong idea though”.
“Oh let the oaf be misled”.
“Ancients, you’re such a dick”, Danny shaking his head, “so-”, smirking, “-Should I tell him you’re also immortal”.
“Don’t you dare, Daniel. I do not want that man trying to ‘bond’ with me over such a thing”.
Danny just snickers meanly, wandering off. Making Vlad follow after him, “Daniel, seriously, don’t. I will buy you a multi-billion dollar car if that’s what it takes”. Danny says nothing and Vlad keeps making offers while they wander around his mansion.
---
Jack bursts on through the FentonWorks front door, also busting down into the lab, “Mads! You’ll never guess what!”.
His dear Maddie looking to him, “what is it, Jack dear?”.
And then, with absolutely no tact, Jack blurts out, “Danny inherited my immortality!”.
Maddie choking and coughing a little. Spinning around in her chair towards him, “what?!?”, swallowing and frowning, “how… how do you know? And I thought that wasn’t possible”.
“Ha! So did I actually!”, shrugging and grabbing a chair to sit down next to her, frowning, “he honestly really scared me”, she frowns at him while he continues, “he tripped over a bit of some project Vladdie had out, he was nearly cut in half”.
Maddie sucking in a breath, “oh my baby. Is… is he okay now?”.
Jack nodding with a smile, “seems so, he heals insanely fast! He was basically completely healed up after we talked! I did stitch him up though”. She nods, “good”, smiling a little forced, “he probably freaked out when you explained things huh?”.
He chuckles awkwardly, “by my immortality? Oh yeah. But Mads-”, frowning, “-he seems used to how, um, durable immortality makes a person. He didn’t even flinch when I was stitching him!”, shaking his head, “you know how we joke about how clumsy he is? Well apparently we underestimated just how accident-prone he is!”.
Maddie sighs, fiddling with her hands and glancing down to them, “I’m definitely not happy to hear that”, looking back up, “just how accident-prone is he?”.
“Vlad heavily implied it’s a weekly thing”.
Maddie looks a little shocked before sighing, “oh Danny”, pausing and quirking an eyebrow at Jack, “wait… Vlad?”.
Jack nods eagerly, “yup! I don’t know how long he’s known about Danny but he wasn’t phased at all by everything! Even got defensive of him!”, rubbing his neck, “one of Vlad’s employees kinda saw everything”.
Maddie sighs, “of course someone saw”, muttering a bit, “I guess I’m glad Vlad’s protective of him. Their relationship is a bit strange though”.
“Oh tell me about it!”, nudging Maddie a bit and smirking playfully, “but guess Danny-boy can help me with the more dangerous stuff now, huh!?!”.
“Absolutely not! If he actually wants to then maybe but don’t you dare make him”.
Jack laughs loudly, “I kid! I kid!”.
“You better be! Jack!”.
Jack just grins at her playfully, which she at least returns after a while. And Danny would be okay, he was definitely a tough kid! And maybe if he really was so accident-prone Jack should actually be really happy Danny-boy got his immortality. He might have died by now otherwise!
-
Needless to say, Maddie immediately made Danny sit down and let her look at him as soon as he got back from Vlad’s. And her very first thought had been about how right Jack was about Danny’s healing. She was honestly very thankful for that. Her having asked him how long his healing usually took and having been a little disturbed and worried by how detailed and exact his awkward answers had been.
And three days later he does actually admit to a recent… decapitation incident. Resulting in both Maddie and Jack subjecting him to a throat, neck, and spine exam for their own peace of mind.
End.
Prompts: Jack Fenton (or rather John Fenton Nightingale) is Immortal, and has been immortal for more than five hundred years. He's had many children share his traits, but only Danny seemed to inherit immortality. and One of Vlad's employees sees something they definitely weren't supposed to see.
Ooh, the halfa siblings AU sounds really cool! Out of curiosity, how would something like the Ultimate Enemy work in that AU? Given that Dan here is the older half brother or Danny and Elle. Actually, would Vlad be trying to get Danny and Elle as his kids too? Or is he content with just having Dan as a son and apprentice?
to start with the Vlad thing, I feel like he's still obsessed with Maddie, he still wants Danny and Elle as a part of his family when he finds out who they are, but he's slightly less insane about it because Dan does everything in his power to make Vlad focus on him, he doesn't want his siblings, who already have a happy family, to muscle in on his relationship with his own dad, who is finally paying attention to him
which is why he's so susceptible to Vlad's absolutely heinous influence
as for TUE, it would hit really different because the dynamic of the series would be so different due to Dan's presence
this au would be a whole lot more focused on the dynamic and infighting between the siblings than the fighting of other ghosts, though there would be that too
the premise is essentially that they all have different styles of dealing with ghost attacks, Danielle can't rely on fighting so she tries to amicably convince ghosts to leave as best she can, she gets pretty good at sneakily manipulating them, but if that doesn't work Danny comes in and fights them to send them back
but when Dan comes in and gets involved, the motherfucker straight up tries to destroy them
he doesn't care who they are or what they want, they're on his turf and they're fucking with his family and he wants them gone, permanently
he expressed a lot more of the ghostly obsessiveness and territorial behaviour than the other two since he already had ghost dna before the portal incident, he's far closer to his ghost half than any of the other halfas, including Vlad
so the ghost attacks on Amity Park are just, different, a lot of lower level ghosts will not fuck with Amity because they are terrified of Dan, the few that do are probably on way better terms with Danny and Elle because picking fights is a great way of catching Dan's attention
if Danny's fighting another ghost and Dan shows up, they will legit just suck themselves up in the thermos, they will absolutely let Danny YEET them back into the ghost zone if it means not getting their core ripped out by his crazy older brother
this au's version of the TUE episode would probably be about Dan just snapping and going feral, maybe the event that kills Danny's parents also kills Danny and Elle, and maybe Vlad blames Dan for it, maybe Dan even is responsible
this would really fuck him up because, for one he actually loves his mother, he loves Jazz, he even gets along with Jack better than he does Vlad (and probably rubs that in his face when he's got the shits with him), and Danny and Elle might be a pain in the ass but he still cares about them
like he's probably saved their lives and ruthlessly protected them so many times, they just butt heads about how to go about it, and as much as he thinks Danny is a total pain in the ass, he lowkey respects that the kid sticks up to him
so being responsible for their deaths would make him fucking snap, and now he doesn't have his younger siblings to pull him in line and hold him accountable
Vlad would probably realise that holy fuck he does not have any control over his kid and he is legitimately in danger, maybe that's why he decides to remove his ghost half
obviously, this goes violently awry, and we all know what happens next
the episode would be a big slap in the face for current day Dan, showing him exactly what path he could go down if he keeps acting so aggressive and violent, and makes him appreciate his siblings for always keeping him from going too far over the line
OKAY SO
i didnt expect to go digging through all my old 14 year old art tonight but here we are, thanks @omegasmileyface for reminding me of it, i had fun revisiting this AU.
At first i was only gonna show a couple pictures but i forgot the LORE i made for this Astro Boy X Danny Phantom crossover LMAO
FULL RANT UNDER THE CUT TO SAVE Y'ALL'S TIMELINES IF YOU WANNA SKIP THIS LOL
Okay so.
2012.
Originally the crossover was (and remains to be) with the Astro Boy 2009 movie. Astro's dad builds a ghost portal i think, but when Astro goes through it his blue core got kind of infected with Ectoplasm allowing his robotic body to retain a ghostly nature. Essentially i made Astro a halfa without thinking of what on earth the implications of a half robot half GHOST could even be but yk i was 14 i didnt think that far ahead. More on the Ectoplasm/Blue Core stuff later, though.
((Side note: I don't recall how exactly Astro ended up from the future to Danny's time, knowing my 14 year old self it was probably something super convoluted involving natural time portals i think?? BUT basically i think Astro gets stuck in the past so that's how. uh he and danny meet and Danny helps him with his new ghost powers))
ANYWAY
I did a few conceptual ideas of what his 'ghost half' could look like, and for some reason i really liked the idea of his outfit being purple and green, like 2 opposite colors (though one sketch i did explore was basically a DP ripoff).
Also i gave him a white stripe on his hair for his ghost half.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anywho this was what i decided to go with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You may notice he's got one green eye and one purple eye. That was me trying to show he's got 2 halves, the blue core and the ecto-nature. ((why is it purple, tho??)
WELL LET ME TELL U SOME LORE I MADE UP THEN
I came up with this concept/ghostly element called Black Fire. Basically, when the blue core energy and ectoplasm mixed together, it created a very powerful element called Black Fire ((also i think i made up that ectoplasm had small amounts of red core in it?? it doesn't matter really tho lol))
ESSENTIALLY Black Fire is a very chaotic element that only wants to consume things, which Astro has a very hard time controlling.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah and it can take over his mind at some points - again, due to the chaotic nature of the black fire, all it wants is to consume. And this is POWERFUL stuff.
Tumblr media
This unfortunately gathers the attention of some elder ghost dudes, ((and i don't... exactly recall if i made them up or if they actually WERE from the Pariah Dark episode its been too long since ive seen that, but if I didn't make them up they're the ones that sealed Pariah Dark in that coffin thing)) but essentially they're like:
"Oh shit this well meaning kid is wielding one of the most deadly elements in the ghost zone, we have to seal him away just like we did Pariah Dark, otherwise the Black Fire will literally take over his mind".
Which i literally made a comic about but i won't be posting all of that in here LOLOL, it is wayyyyyy too cringy, but I'll post a few highlights.
I ALSO found a SYNOPSIS for the little comic i wrote which I will now transcribe:
Astro has been constantly possessed by an evil power- Black Fire - and it is slowly taking over his mind and body like it did Pariah Dark. The Keepers are now placing Astro in a sleeping prison like they did for Pariah, but as it turned out it was the greatest mistake they ever made... for sleep makes the body unprotected, and Black Fire can fully consume the person or ghost it resides in [uninhibited.]
In this first picture, you see how he has one red eye? CUZ MY 14 YEAR EDGY SELF WAS LIKE "OH WHAT IF HE DIES CUZ VLAD KILLS HIM AND THATS LIKE LITERALLY WHERE THE DEATHBLOW STRUCK HIM"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANYWAY
So i'm not sure what happens next between this instance and the next part of the au, or if I scrapped this part and then changed things around BUT -
this Au can be promptly divided into 2 parts, the first part where Astro is a Halfa, and the second part where he becomes a full on Ghost.
Tumblr media
O look costume change, now he has a full on cloak instead of a hoodie
And you see how he has one red eye? YEAH THAT'S CUZ MY 14 YEAR EDGY SELF WAS LIKE "OH WHAT IF HE DIES CUZ VLAD KILLS HIM AND THATS LIKE LITERALLY WHERE THE DEATHBLOW STRUCK HIM"
Essentially the idea that as he becomes a full on 'ghost', the black fire energy is now tamed/more controllable because it is a part of his being as he was reborn, and not something that affected him.
however he is now the first ghost to ever be born with "Black Fire" (something that before always grew inside and consumed ghosts or people) so he is put into the care of Clockwork to help figure out and be properly taught how to control such a powerful ability.
Tumblr media
14 year old me was WILD man
ok im at my picture limit so im gonna follow up with another reblog i think or maybe another post idk cuz i got a few more things i wanna show
