Just got a rejection from an agent that said they really liked my 'line by line' writing but not the plot of the book. I am both happy (I can write characters!!!) and sad (but I can't pull off an engaging plot) and I am going to treat both my sadness and my ongoing migraine to a very nice bath after work 👍

Day 31: Melting Rocks, and Crab Island

I head back into the darkness of ancient Gorondia at dawn, to find what lies beneath that marbled rock.

The Marbled Gohma hatches from the ceiling where the Princess was sealed in. It's like a giant Talus crab.

Yunobo and I do battle, and defeat it. For something so huge, it's an enjoyable combat. 

It explodes into Gloom, and is replaced by the golden light of a secret stone. This must be meant for Yunobo. 

We're back in that dream space I visited with Tulin. Yunobo's ancestor, the Sage of Fire, tells us the same story of the Demon King as the Sage of Wind.

He calls Zelda the Sage of Time and tells of her visit to him, to recruit him and his people in the fight against the Demon King. 

I've missed her smile. 

Yunobo swears to fight with me, and grants me his avatar. A privilege. 

The marbled rock roast melts away, even down in Goron City. 

Yunobo says it looked like Zelda was going towards that monster by choice. I have to agree. But I don't have to believe that was truly Zelda. Even one of the Goron kids thinks it's more likely that a giant crab was masquerading as Zelda than that she actually did those things.

Yunobo says he'll look out for information about the Princess. He says she warned him not to go near Lizard Lakes - which means it's exactly where I want to go. Bludo thinks there's treasure there, on the north side of the mountain. 

It's twelve days since I left Rito Village. I've been without Zelda for a month. I need to find more geoglyphs. I need clues. 

There's a Gerudo in Goron City - Ramella, a jeweller. She wants to buy amber - but I sold all mine to pay for my heat-resistant gear. I'm sure I'll find more. 

I head out of Goron City to what used to be the lava fields to the north, trying to ignore the sense that I don't have an obvious direction. Yunobo's avatar joins me. I'm heading for the closest geoglyph, I think. I grab a mine cart to what used to be Crab Island - but just before it there's a Hylian camp. Only Budder is here - they're cooking for Captain Toren's monster control crew. I'd be inclined to help them, but they're in the opposite direction. I need geoglyphs more than Captain Toren needs my help.

It occurs to me that I could do with being stealthier - maybe I should visit Kakariko Village and see if the clothing shop is still open. Purah mentioned I should go there anyway to look at their ruins. 

This cave is a tunnel, immense. How far does it go?

So, my loss of voice has turned into a full blown head cold...boo! But I'm doing well and not being very good at staying clothed or in bed 🤣

I had figured that at some point this summer I would catch a bug 🐞🪲on my adventures and my immune system would need to flex it's muscles in this post lockdown era. It's not COVID, but this cold has been worse for me than my COVID experience! Go figure.

Buuuttttt.....SOOOOOOOOO worth it for the amazing summer I've had! Building back my immunity for future adventures! Grateful hubby and work have been amazing and I've mainly just been a cat companion the last few days 🤣🤣

Thinking about the time I lost a game of Overwatch and I was so mad about it that I genuinely considered getting into shit with the other team in chat and then realized that it was a colossal waste of my living breathing Human Time and uninstalled Overwatch instead because it was only making me angry.

And then thought about the OTHER time when I was on TikTok and realized I was Not Enjoying Myself and was, in fact, seeing so many sad videos and fake influencer ads that I felt Truly Despondent and then just…Deleted it.

Imo I want my social media /general media experience to be a pleasant break from real world and I get to decide what I get to cull to make that a reality for myself. I highly reccomended it! Life has improved considerably!
