I've shipped the VVV polycule for awhile, it's always been in at least my top ten since the pilot.

I 100% ship Velvette with Carmilla AND Carmilla with Zestial which has resulted in me shipping a very chaotic hateship threesome of Velvette x Carmilla x Zestial

Then I adore Chaggie but also love the idea of Velvette officially inserting themselves into their relationship by exploiting the fact they're both disaster gay in one form or another

Now I'm thinking of Velvette being part of not one, not two but THREE throuples without the others knowing so one day someone yells out "You two! Come get your bitchy girlfriend!"

Holly Poly is, as the name implies, an exchange for polyamorous relationships. OT3s, OT4s, OT6s, orgies, open relationships, sedoretus, whatever strikes your fancy, as long as it involves three or more entities.

Participants are able to offer and request fanart, fanfiction, fanvids, podfic, fanmixes, gifsets and/or aesthetics/moodboards.

Dates: All times are 11:00am UTC, save for golive which will depend on when final pinch hits are posted. Apologies if the change of time causes any confusion; this change was necessary since the previous time used for deadlines did not work well for the mods' mix of timezones last year. Talk about a good OT3, how do we all feel about chronance? Chrissy x Robin x Nancy? I don’t think we’re prepared for how powerful it is.

Steddilly and Chronance, this is amazing. There’s so much going on there, and so much love as well when the 6 of them hang out. Is this the real Spicy Six?

I kind of like Ronanssy as well, not sure how to feel about Buckinghamler, but I think Chronance is the way to go.

That does mean if we have two OT3s that Chronance and Steddilly can be each others beards, and that’s magical. They spend a lot of time together, they carpool in Eddie’s van, and protect each other when they go out partying.

The way that Jack, Rose, and Nine feel far more like a poly trio in late Season 1 rather than any sort of love triangle is INSANE. The vibes are FERAL and IMMACULATE. The kisses in Parting of the Ways. The sharing-story banter in Boom Town. The flirting. "Buy me a drink." "Continue on with whatever you were doing." The dancing. Jack dancing with Rose. Rose dancing with Nine. Nine offering Jack a dance. Everything Ninerose related. "Before you, I was a coward." The fact that Jack only makes sure that Rose is safe before dying for them, Rose brings him back to life, Nine's every interaction with either of them in the finale...honestly the way that Ten interacts with Jack in Utopia (ESPECIALLY the scene in the radiation room/Jack's reaction to hearing Rose is alive) makes even more sense if you realize that he and Jack are exes and that they once loved each other and Rose equally and then the Tenth Doctor WRECKED that by leaving Jack behind

Some thoughts on OT3s.

So I only have what I consider maybe three OT3s I’m fairly serious about… and I’ve only seriously written for one of them. (One of the others I’m messing around with now and the other I haven’t read or written any actual fic, just kinda musings and headcanon.)

I’m starting to remember one of the most fun things about writing an OT3 is figuring out which POV each scene is going to be from. For whatever reason, even though I know I don’t HAVE to, when I have two characters I tend to feel like I either have to do everything from one character’s POV or alternate chapters without exception. With three I feel like there’s more freedom? I don’t feel as restricted to A-B-C-A-B-C, it could be A-B-A-C-B-C-A?

HOWEVER, one of the biggest issues for me with at least the OT3 I used to write and the one I’m messing with now is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE one of each of those sets of three characters many, many times more than the others, and so I like writing the other two’s POVs more so I can observe the beauty of my favorite through their eyes. Not sure if that’s a bad thing. Also not sure it would be as much as a problem if I ever wrote than third OT3, because while I also definitely have a clear favorite among those characters, I think the DEGREE of favoritism isn’t quite as strong? I love them MORE equally? LOL

It’s both a fun and a hard thing to figure out how the different relationship dynamics work… not only how they all are together, but also how A and B are when C isn’t around, how B and C are when A isn’t around, and how A and C are when B isn’t around.

The balance of fun vs. hard probably depends on how much canon gives us to work with???
