kept thinking about my fic “A Ship Could Never Love An Anchor” and how the title phrase applies nearly every dynamic within the Soot family in it.
Sally and Wilbur both feel as if they are the anchor to the others ship, keeping them from being truly happy. Sally knows she is not built for a life of domesticity and stasis and feels awful for this need because she knows the idea of a happy family, being attentive parents with stability is something Wilbur values very much. She feels as if she is the anchoring Wilbur from his happy domestic romance he wants so badly by virtue of being his wife and being unable to be happy with that.
For all the same reasons Sally feels that Fundy is a lot like Wilbur, he needs stability and domesticity that Wilbur wants for him. Sally loves Fundy but feelings as if she is anchoring him by not being able to wholly be the parent he needs, not being the careful attentive parent Wilbur is because she is naturally adventurous.
Equally Wilbur feels guilty for keeping Sally in one place so long. He has a deep rooted need for the idea of a home, a place to stay and be, and he feels as if he is anchoring Sally with this need because it keeps her from her instinctive wanderlust.
All the same, Wilbur incidentally imparts these feelings to Fundy when Sally leaves. He doesn’t understand his mothers need for adventure and through attempts to explain ends up feeling much like Wilbur does, as if he is anchoring his mother  when she wants to be wandering, sailing. Hell, she doesn’t even want to be a fox anymore! She is a shapeshifter who has always preferred her aquatic salmon form! She took on the form of a fox hybrid when she ran away with Wilbur to be less cumbersome when so far from the water. She kept this form throughout Fundy’s childhood and its why he has taken after her as a fox, its why he doesn't know how to change his shape like she does. She kept that from to raise him, but it is not who she wants to be.
Later, Wilbur and Fundy may represent the term to one another. Wilbur anchors Fundy from growing up, exploring his individuality. Forever seeing Fundy as his baby boy, his little champion. A child who he must care for an hover over. He doesn't give Fundy the room to grow and in doing so pushes him away.
None of these intentions are inherently wrong, they all just had different needs that didn’t line up. Sally and Wilbur were young. They ran away together with a whirlwind romance. They love each other, they are best friends. But Sally has a natural wanderlust and lively youth to her that makes her incapable of being happy in the domestic stasis and familiarity that Wilbur craves. Wilbur ran away from home, feeling neglected and at odd with his fathers own constant adventuring. He wants for a home, and he wants that for his son, to the lengths of building it with his own two hands. Fundy wants a place to call home, to belong, but he just as well needed room to grow and be his own person and Wilbur's hovering and babying stopped him from doing that without drastic measures.
This is all to say the soot family lives rent free in my head constantly that family tree is so fucking interesting to me

ch 5 is so good in showing crimeboys' opinions of each other through how that changes in this chapter
wilbur judges tommy with the standards he and niki with q, the throne candidates, were held up too and its frustrating to him that tommy can act more childish and still be considered at the heir
and its not that wilbur doesnt know, that tommy is unaware of the reason of his stay in pandorinne, to me it seems like hes almost looking for a reason to be critical of tommy (not that tommy makes that hard) bc niki (and he) and even quackity have been working hard to be good candidates for the throne and now tommy gets to just join in
also tommy insulting wilbur and phil forcing wil to spend more time with him isnt helping that
what wilbur fails to realise, that while tommy is still royalty, the manners standards arent the only different thing about tommys upbringing
as could be seen at the market, but even before, with tubbo, jack and even puffy, tommy is much less detached from servants and other people in the kingdom, where the people in the castle, while not necessarily evil, are very secluded in the castle and detached from the common people, even tho many make important decisions about their lives
and we get to see tommy disprove this prejudice in wilbur
and wilbur also learns that tommy isnt completely stupid in terms of strategy
now what is more interesting to me is how tommy sees wilbur
taking it from the start, while tommy recognises that wilbur doesnt like him all too much, for tommy hes the first new person he talks with in a less formal setting, wilbur doesnt scold him for cursing and generally they managed to have a chill pretty casual conversation before wilbur got pissy about tommy insulting him
and even after that wilbur will slip into banter with tommy (I love their urge to keep insulting each other lol), tommy doesnt know wilbur is kinda being forced to hang out with him on all the occasions they do so he quickly becomes a familiar person
theres never any punishment for what he says to wilbur, apart from wilbur himself and even niki encourages his making fun of wilbur
also I dont think tommy really realises the status imbalance between them
they did have the talk about wilbur not official having any status, but tommy doesnt see himself as anything more than wilbur
so to tommy wilbur is a stuck up guy who acts like the adults in criticising basically everything tommy does, but also he will go and insult tommy back and he keeps spending time with him (unknowingly to tommy very unwillingly) so I dont think tommy actually hates wilbur, he just enjoys making fun of him and knows he can afford it
as someone who spends a lot of time with boys rose!tommys age (scouting, also its not like im that much older) i adore how accurately he acts
any touristic tips if I want to visit pandorinne?
I love the city so much, the canals system sounds super sick and I absolutely adore markets they just have such a cool atmosphere
yeah the thing is wilbur understands that it's not exactly tommy's fault he's acting the way he is, because he isn't even aware of the position he's in. but it's still frustrating to witness. it's frustrating to listen to sam and phil both consider tommy a viable heir when tommy isn't even trying to get their approval, unlike what quackity and niki have gone through their entire childhoods.
but yes what's more interesting is the difference in upbringing between the pandorinne trio (quackity niki wilbur) and tommy. although valbroek is a fairly wealthy city and tommy still lived a very lavish noble lifestyle, he had a lot more freedom there than he has in pandorinne. he was able to go out on his own and interact with the people of his city. he's seen their struggles firsthand. his people aren't just theoreticals to him, they all have faces. which contrasts with quackity, niki, and wilbur who were rarely allowed to leave the palace without armed escorts growing up. and along with that, while tommy goofs off, he's not completely stupid when it comes to strategy. he's just untrained.
meanwhile, yes, tommy can definitely recognize that wilbur doesn't like him all that much but he thinks it's more of a game than it actually is. he thinks that the bickering is something they both enjoy. while he obviously knows his relationship with wilbur is nothing like his relationship with tubbo, there's the familiarity of a friendship where the two of you just insult each other all the time and pretend you can't stand each other when you're actually close. and the fact that wilbur keeps playing into the bickering, and there's never any punishment for what he says to wilbur like you pointed out, only affirms this belief.
not only does tommy not see himself as better than wilbur, he actually looks up to wilbur. it's not obvious and he's not even that aware of it himself, but wilbur is the son of the Consil. he's older than tommy and seems to know so much about what's going on in the palace, but he's less intimidating than niki and quackity since they're the potential heirs. tommy would rather die than admit it, but yknow when you have a 12-13 year old who interacts with a 17-18 year old and they think the older teen is so cool? yeah, that's tommy with wilbur.
lol I'm glad tommy is an accurate 13 year old boy. I did no research for how to write 13 year old boys I'm just going off of how tommy acted in the early days of dsmp along with my own distant memories of being in middle school
I'm glad you like the city!! Hmm tourist tips for Pandorinne... well the Lavender Market is one of the best parts of the city, as Wilbur told Tommy in that chapter. Canals are mainly used for the transport of goods and supplies, but later in the evenings you might find a man with a small boat willing to give you a scenic ride, if you have the right coin of course. There's also a few temples dedicated to the different gods littered throughout the city, which are always worth visiting to get a blessing or two. And make sure to go down to the docks directly to get fish so fresh it's practically still blinking! Of course, you can't miss the cookshops. If you bring your own meat or fish, they'll cook it up for you for a fraction of the cost you'd pay if you didn't provide they ingredients. They can even bake it in some pastry dough for a savory pie if you request it! Wealthier nobles tend to avoid cookshops though, since there's not a lot of heavy regulation on food distribution in the city...

If I counted correctly, that is 98 roses! Holy jalapeños!
Okay. Y’know what. This is what I think I’ll do.
I probably have at least 100 WIPs, so I’ll see if I can find a line from each of them to share :D I’ve lost inspiration for most of them aksgaksgajsg but still!!
Edit: I gave up XD You get 42 snippets lol
~~~
1
Wilbur blinks, lifting his head—away from the bottom of the bridge, that's good, that's what Tommy wanted—to blink at his brother. "Hey."
~~~
2
Wilbur scowls. He wishes that he hadn't cried. Now all the doctors and nurses remember him as the crying kid. So embarrassing.
~~~
3
Crawling close to his brother, Wilbur gently places his hands on the baby's side, rolling Tommy over until he's flat on his back. Tommy squints up at him, arms sprawled out so he looks like a capital T. Wilbur stifles back a giggle.
~~~
4
Wilbur smiles really, really big. "Now we're a family."
~~~
5
Wilbur watches him evenly. "I just want you to know that I'll like you forever. Even when you stop being a baby and everything. Even when you get big. I'll always be bigger than you, so that means... that means my love will get bigger, too!"
~~~
6
Mum doesn't seem to hear him. She always has trouble hearing him when she has the bottles.
~~~
7
The train continues to barrel towards him, and Wilbur doesn't blink.
~~~
8
"Hm?" Tommy looks up, staring at Tubbo for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, yeah, of course. Obviously. They don't call me Tommy 'The Listener' for nothing."
"No one calls you that."
"They do! They talk about me in the streets, Tubbo!"
"The streets?"
"Yeah." Tommy flicks his spoon with a finger, watching it slide around the bowl. A few drops splatter onto the table. "You're just not listening hard enough."
"Alright then; what was I talking about just now?"
"Uhh... a game- mods! You mentioned mods!"
Tubbo nods slowly. "Alright. I stand corrected."
"Get corrected, idiot." Tommy smirks.
~~~
9
Softly said by an old friend as they sat together on the front porch, chatting amiably as crows flew overhead.
~~~
10
He'd give anything to hear that laugh, even just once more.
~~~
11
Phil doesn't swoop in to save him.
~~~
12
Ghostbur stares at the notebook in front of him, feeling his heart begin to quicken. It's empty. Pages and pages of blank paper. Senseless, meaningless.
Is that how my brain looks inside? Miles and miles of nothingness?
~~~
13
The last word comes out in a sob, and then Tommy's arms are wrapped around him, and Tubbo's face is buried into Tommy's chest, and they're both holding on for dear life.
~~~
14
Storm. Wilbur feels his heart skip a beat. His first storm in thirteen years.
~~~
15
But in the off-chance you don't throw this letter in the bin, hello! I thought I should update you on what's been going on recently, so you don't freak out (because we all know that you tend to freak out from time to time. You're quite clingy).
~~~
16
Wilbur squeals, excitedly kicking out with his legs. Phil grins down at him, making sure his grip is secure. It's not hard to hang onto a five year old, but he doesn't want to risk dropping him.
~~~
17
Wilbur slides his jacket off his shoulder, exposing his dirt streaked bandage, already soaked with blood. Tommy doesn't hesitate.
~~~
18
"Hello, Phil." A soft voice rang out, cutting through the lazy chatter of bugs and the gentle swishing of leaves. It was a voice Phil knew by heart, one that he could pinpoint in the middle of a raging battle, the fiercest storm, at the end of the world, even.
~~~
19
“Not, um, nothing! Nothing, Wilbur, really! Come to think of it, do I hear Eret? Oh yes, I almost forgot; I need to go see him, so bye-"
~~~
20
The first time Tommy says it, Wilbur is picking berries.
~~~
21
The silence is uncomfortable. Wilbur’s skin crawls, and the air seems to crackle with tension.
At least for him. The ghost seems perfectly happy, walking strangely in order to stomp on fallen leaves. He bends down at multiple points, admiring a caterpillar or picking up a rock.
Wilbur doesn’t stop to wait for him, but Ghostbur doesn’t seem to mind. It’s annoyingly infuriating.
~~~
22
And then Quackity had stopped by, smirking behind the glass walls. Wilbur had glared at him, failing to notice the smoking grill in the kitchen. Quackity noticed though, and his already large grin grew even wider, especially when Wilbur began smelling smoke and had cursed loudly, racing into the back room.
When he'd returned to the counter, he'd found a lovely message spray-painted onto the glass walls:
Your burgers suck.
~~~
23
There's a man that plays music on the surface.
~~~
24
"Phil." Techno clapped his hands together, speaking in the same tone that a parent would use as they're trying to explain something to a child. "These people know who we are. They know who we are, and they want to get rid of us."
"'Get rid of' is a pretty strong choice of-"
"The posters literally say 'wanted dead or alive', Philza!"
~~~
25
He'll then grab a baked potato and a cup of water, gazing at himself in the reflection and swirling it around, distorting his features. He has bags under his eyes now. Streaks of dirt across his cheeks. A crack in his lip.
~~~
26
"Wha- but I am a grown, I'm a big man, I'm the biggest man there ever was!" Tommy stutters, puffing out his chest. "See? I'm asserting dominance!"
~~~
27
The shower handle rests towards the ceiling, the long, attached cord snaking down and burrowing itself into the wall. It's intimidating. He remembers being scared of shower handles as a kid; he thought they looked like water monsters.
~~~
28
Phil has fallen into a routine. Or perhaps fallen is the wrong word for it; it's more like settling. The routine has always been there, it's just taken him a while to discover it.
That's poetic as crap. Isn't it.
~~~
29
Wil smiles a bit wider. The skin around his eyes crinkles, just like his father's. "Yes. But now- now we can do it, right? And it's not even illegal!"
~~~
30
"I mean that it won't pacify them. Chat's crazy, Wilbur. They don't listen to anything I have to say. They just say E."
Phil laughs louder, and a little bit of tea spills out the side of his mug.
ANGRYBLADE
NOOOOOOO
E
BAD TECHNO
That Wilbur dude is funny he should do lore
PHIL IS LUAGHING HE'S GONNA CHOKE AND DIE HELP
E
BOREDDDDD
E
E
silly little wilblur he will undertsadn soon
E
~~~
31
"I mean," Tubbo tilts his head, squinting into the sunset. "Tommy... he's a little startling, I admit. And loud."
"Very loud."
"And definitely a bit much, at times. I agree that he can be a little intimidating. But trust me, he wouldn't hurt a fly."
"Oh. That's- that's reassuring."
"I mean, he'd definitely hurt Dream."
"O- oh."
"And Sapnap. And Bad. And a couple other people, now that I think about it."
"Oh."
"He'd break their knees."
Ranboo pulls his legs to his chest, wrapping his tail around them. "Oh."
~~~
32
"Alright." Tubbo shifts, clapping his hands together. Ranboo jumps. "Alright Michael. We'll tell you, uh... we'll tell you a story."
"We will?"
Tubbo forces himself to take a deep breath, turning to Ranboo with wide eyes. "Yes, Ranboo. We will. It will make him happy, won't it?"
"Uh..." Ranboo's eyes lighten with realization. "Oh, yeah. Defin- yeah, totally. Looks like we're, uh, doing a story. Story-time. Time for a story. Yep."
~~~
33
Wil claps his hands together, making her jump. "Then that's what we'll do! Teach me to cook, Niki Nihachu!"
"Well to start, we are baking, not cooking."
"Oh." Wilbur tilts his head. "I thought they were the same thing?"
"Um... no."
"Oh." Wilbur furrows his brow, as if struggling to comprehend this.
~~~
34
Wilbur's eyes flutter open, and he turns his head to the side as Sally climbs into the van. She's holding a bag of onion rings, along with a can of soda. "I got your snacks."
~~~
35
"Phil, please, just-!" Wilbur turns, slamming his fist onto the table and making himself jump with the loudness of it. "I don't- I don't really need... I don't-"
~~~
36
Wilbur shuts his eyes tight. "I don't want to be broken. I really don't want to be broken, but I am, and I don't... want to, Phil."
~~~
37
Phil sits at the dining room table, sipping tea that Techno had made earlier. It's hot, but Phil doesn't mind. He's content to blow the steam from the top, putting a little into his mouth before swallowing and setting down the mug. His favorite mug too, the one he'd bought from a far-away village in a far-away land in a far-away time. Or perhaps he'd stolen it.
~~~
38
Wilbur is all curled up like a wood louse.
~~~
39
Tubbo tries to get his shower. He really does! But he doesn't quite know how to work it; it's set up differently, and the water goes from boiling hot to ice cold with the slightest adjustment. He also can't figure out how to change it from pouring out of the faucet to spraying out of the shower head, and after several minutes of trying, he resorts to taking a bath instead.
~~~
40
"I know, Tommy. I'm getting a plaster for you, okay? That'll make it better."
~~~
41
"I am yours," Wilbur says, never once taking his eyes off her.
~~~
42
He likes chamomile, though. It's a good tea. It makes him feel sort of like a marshmallow is burning inside him, or like a tiny little campfire; like the big fireplace Techno has, but smaller. A small fire.

Ah I'm in the mood to talk about Doomsday again.
Starting with the set up for Doomsday we got from L'Manberg itself. After c!Tommy exile it was getting more and more clear that New L'Manberg was basically falling apart. On one hand we have c!Quackity building new country he could rule over and on the other we have c!Niki and c!Fundy who no longer felt happy in that country and decided to leave and this without even mentioning c!Jack Manifold who didn't even feel like he belonged to New L'Manberg in the first place. We saw the original members of the L'Manberg deciding to no longer be part of it and in case of c!Fundy and c!Niki they even got to the point where they went against it. Even if you look at c!Tubbo during that time, he was a president without a house who have to steal supplies from others It was so clear that New L'Manberg was not what L'Manberg really was. Additionally both c!Technoblade execution and exile were very reminiscent of Manberg. It was basically history repeating itself so it made sense for it to end in the same way as well.
Another important thing about Doomsday is that it changed the focus of the story and made it more focused on characters rather then on the countries. It was truly the end of cc!Wilbur original way of leading the story and it allowed for other creators to really develop their characters. Doomsday also worked great as a set up for characters lowest point. For characters like c!Fundy and c!Niki it was the moment when they realised they don't want to fight for a stupid country, that it's just a circle that repeated itself over and over again, it didn't feel like it was worth to fight anymore. Then we have c!Ranboo questioning himself and his morals and completely breaking and c!Hbomb who started question the general idea of what is good and what is bad on that server. We see characters question why should they be loyal to one side. On the other hand we have c!Technoblade who was almost executed by a government he was leaving alone and who felt betrayed by c!Tommy and c!Phil who witnessed how L'Manberg corrupt people and who connected it with what happened to his son, who he killed. They were also on a very low point and that's without even mentioning characters like c!Tubbo who was feeling as if he failed the country and c!Jack Manifold who, well, died. From there we see many new stories being, we see each person dealing with what happened in different way, we also see things like Eggpire or Las Nevadas being allowed to take the main stage now that L'Manberg is gone.
Doomsday was a cruel and terrible event, a true lowest of the server at that moment but it was the thing that had to happen. It was a brutal force that ended L'Manberg arc and allowed for new things. It work great a a season final for characters that were not c!Tommy or c!Dream, it gave them something they could build up from that was connected truly to their characters emotions.

LET”S DO THIS
🗡 😈 🪓🌟 💏
Was Phil killing Wilbur justified?
I think the use of "justified" here is a funny thing 'cause like... idk a lot of these "justified" questions make me think "that's already making some assumptions about the situation" but I don't know how more clearly to phrase that thought. I don't think any of the intentional deaths on the server were "justified", really, but I think some of them were understandable and possibly even the right thing to do? Or at least not an unforgivable thing to do? So let's go with that for "justified".
So Phil killing Wilbur... is a really complicated situation to me. Regardless of what their actual relationship was or wasn't, this is Wilbur's dad who's just shown up, witnessed his son commit an act of terrorism that frankly I think he expected to die carrying out considering how close the TNT was to the button, and then who begged and goaded Phil to kill him while they were watched from a distance by a group of victims who absolutely would see Phil standing up in the button room with Wilbur and assume he was involved.
So, Wilbur wanted to die. Wilbur had done something horrible that would probably get him executed anyway, by people who might want to drag it out. Phil was in danger of the same treatment by being assumed to be working with Wilbur. And, even if he knew about the three canon lives thing, there's no reason to MY knowledge to assume Phil knew Wilbur was on his last canon life and wouldn't be able to respawn and escape to safety afterwards.
I think all that makes it "justified" in the sense of "understandable and forgivable", for Phil to kill him.
Is Quackity a villainous character?
Absolutely not. An antagonist? absolutely sometimes. An asshole? definitely sometimes. But not a villain.
Was the Butcher Army justified in hunting down Technoblade?
No, but I can understand why they thought it was a good idea.
Like, yes, Techno had turned on them, but he also hadn't been responsible for the worst of what happened (that was Wilbur, even WITH the withers. Subscribe to Technoblade. ✌) and they had no indication he was going to cause more trouble for them.
BUT they were pretty fuckin young, and I can see why they'd think both "We need to take out the threats we can get to before they can hurt us" AND "if we take out Technoblade we'll solidify our power on the server".
So no, not justified, but understandable. Sadly, I think they pretty much signed the eventual death warrant of New L'Manburg with that, bc as much as he hated government I think Techno (and by extension Philza) would've been less likely to work with Dream to ultimately raze it to the fuckin ground.
Was Technoblade justified in executing Tubbo?
I mean no, because he absolutely could've booked it alive, considering most folks weren't actively armed at that point, but it could've been a near thing, and Tubbo definitely would've died anyway, possibly by someone who didn't want to make it as quick and painless as possible.
If the kid was gonna die anyway, might as well be at the hand of someone sympathetic and not inclined to cause undue suffering, right? Plus, y'know, trying to not get absolutely jumped for refusing? Yeah.
Like the Butcher Army, I think it's not justified, but understandable. And possibly the right thing to do as far as he could tell, so.
Is TNTduo /r?

actually. more destiny au because im feeling silly and also i just found the google doc i wrote on this and im feeling shrimp emotions.
i made tommy a human hunter who was just a city kid who wilbur basically adopted and constantly snuck into the tower to annoy wilbur n hang out in the hanger. and then he fuckfgn DIES during the red war and is resurrected shortly before the events of forsaken augfhu. HIS GHOST'S NAME IS CLEMENTINE IM ENDING IT ALL
oh bench trio. two hunters and a warlock what will they do? (the answer is commit so many crimes). i also think tommy makes fun of ranboo and tubbo for using void since he is an arcstrider hunter lol. tubbo uses the stag btw. purely for aesthetic reasons btw im a warlock main i know the stag sucks ass LMAO. also i made ranboo interested and knowledgeable in hive magic bc we stay sillay. and tubbo met ranboo through this way because he was trying to research hive magic to see if he could revive tommy augh. AND TUBBO GOT HIS BURN SCARS TRYING TO SAVE TOMMY WHILE HIS GHOST WAS DISCONNECTED FROM THE LIGHT AND SPENT THE REST OF THE RED WAR AT THE FARM TRYING TO HEAL SHFJASDHBJ OWOWOW
philzer and techno <33 two old geezers who have been around forever and don't care for the politics of the city but work to protect it anyways. they work as a duo and try to fight the darkness head on as they both have a distaste for the prospect of cowering behind walls. but phil fell in love with a human mechanic/pilot (kristin <3) in the tower and now techno bullies him for being old and in love <3 they are each others best friends in the whole universe and they fight very well together, very synchronized and always watching each others back. i like to think they have a move where they are able to swap each other's super weapons, i mean how terrifying would it be to see a hunter with burning maul and a titan with a golden gun lol
ert ert ert ert my baby my darling my awoken warlock who doesn't remember being apart of awoken court but feels a draw to the reef and the dreaming city anyways. she is always lead by her intuition and while she tries to stay logical her pull towards awoken inhabited lands is something she just can't ignore. being a well known guardian though everyone sees her leave and go on these longer and longer missions to the reef and after forsaken, the dreaming city and they feel as though she is abandoning the city in it's time in need. including her best friend who feels she is personally abandoning him in his time of need after the death of tommy. wilbur is also manipulated by the witness into believing he can bring tommy back because he disappears for a while and doesn't see tommy resurrected as a guardian (but tommy has no memories anyways and it would hurt worse to see him like that)
anyways stick your hand through the bars of my cage please i want to add more characters and flesh out this au more (maybe even tweak/chnage a couple things)

my favorite dsmp character head cannons :)
(this is ALL /rp and does not reflect anything about the content creators)
charlie stuck the popsicle stick in his head as a joke but now it won't come out. so instead of being called his old name of just 'slime' he got nicknamed 'slimecicle'
endermen don't reproduce like humans do and because of this they didn't develop societal gender norms. c!ranboo ends up identifying as nonbinary after learning what even a pronoun is.
Phil's wings got ruined protecting Wilbur in the explosion, so now they hang limp behind him and resemble a cape.
tubbo is a goat hybrid and he headbutts people to show affection.
Tommy is obsessed with the discs because they play music, much like Wilbur used to before he was consumed with power.
Michael is fascinated by Tubbo's firework scar because it looks similar to the part on his own face where the skin rotted away.
Tubbo grows out his hair because it hides his horns and makes him look less like Schlatt.
George has extreme narcolepsy and doesn't like to go out on the public because sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference between dreams and real life.
Sapnap has a high body heat and is the designated server-wide hug machine. Karl and Quackity enjoyed cuddling with him when they were first engaged.
Young techno was fascinated with Tommy's hair because it looks like gold.
Fundy still acts childish sometimes because he never got the praise and affection he wanted from Wilbur, so he seeks attention wherever he can find it.
Tommy never fully tells anyone the scale of the psychological abuse that he endured from c!dream during both exile and the prison. No one else was there to witness it, so he hides it to seem like a stronger person.
Ducks are a weird server-wide symbol of peace. Bad and skeppy's duck suits, Quackity's duck theme, puffy and her ducklings, the duck statue, etc.
Every time the train comes by, Ghostbur still hopes that one of his friends will come to pick him up.

Which person do you think cdream would have the worst reaction to if cq brought them in as an audience/to participate?
/dsmp /rp
Oh geeeeez.
This makes me think of a post I made awhile back (that I can’t find at the moment but maybe I’ll look more later) about how Dream would react to Sam informing him that the whole server knows about his torture. And basically I said that I thought Dream would divide everyone he knows into categories, based on how much they liked or hated him, and based on his perception of their tolerance of torture.
More or less the same principles apply here, but with the significant additional elements that a) witnessing torture in person is far different than just knowing about it and b) Dream has to factor in the abject humiliation of having someone else see him like this.
So on one side of the scale we have George and Sapnap. On the one hand, Dream would hate hate hate George or Sapnap seeing him like this. But on the other, those two would likely express some shock/sympathy/try to intervene. Both George and Sapnap still care about Dream to some extent. I don’t think Sapnap’s markedly lukewarm reaction to Dream telling him about his torture post-escape would extend to actually witnessing it, in bloody technicolor, while Dream is still “behaving” like Sapnap told him to and remaining a prisoner.
So neither would be particularly happy about witnessing a) Dream being tortured and b) Quackity committing torture. They’d constitute a friendly face, and boy oh boy does Dream crave one of those. Plus, because both George and especially Sapnap are close to Quackity, that could quickly become an extremely messy and emotional blowup. It’s entirely likely that there would be hardly any torture, and that the situation would simply devolve into shouting and crying etc. All told, it’s a really bad idea for Q to invite either of them. In fact, it’s SUCH a nakedly bad idea that I think Dream would start fearing for their safety—which is a whole different flavor of bad reaction.
Then on a completely other side of the scale, we have known bitter enemies, like Tubbo and Tommy. (And I have another ask about Tommy so I’ll hold my tongue here, but suffice to say that Dream Would Not Like It.)
Then there are Dream’s secret allies who would have to hold their tongues: that would be its own flavor of fear and pain.
And then there are Dream’s conditional or erstwhile allies, people like Phil and perhaps like Eret, people who don’t particularly like him but at least used to respect him. I think this is the category of people whose pity Dream would loathe the most. Wilbur might even belong here too. Techno, while he likes Dream, would also be an extremely humiliating witness.
Anyway, I guess I don’t have a firm final answer. Maybe Tommy. But Dream would hate plenty of these witnesses for plenty of wildly different reasons. He’d hate his enemies seeing and enjoying his humiliation; he’d hate his friends and allies being put at risk. And he’d hate the enforced HONESTY of having his mask (literal and metaphorical) stripped away.

You failed me
multiple x gn!reader
word count: 2,524
warnings: cursing, yelling, arguing, death, angst, blood, explosion, the egg (it deserves its own warning)
synopis: you guys failed me(us)
(the lyrics go with each person, might not get everyone, and also xd’s part is kinda wonky)
song: rät by penelope scott
I come from scientists and atheists and white men who kill God They make technology, high quality, complex physiological Experiments and sacrilege in the name of public good They taught me everything, just like a daddy should
Quackity, Karl, George, and Sapnap left you. Your mentors, your friends. The ones who taught you everything you knew. They went to build their little “Kinoko Kingdom” while you stayed in the ruins, the dust. “They’ll regret that.” you swore. You built something better, something greater.
It was called “Las Nevadas”. A place where everyone was allowed. They would remember not to fuck with you. They would soon realize that they should watch their back for the rest of their short, stupid lives.
“Watch out, you guys, I'm watching your every move.”
And you were beautiful and vulnerable and power and success God damn, I fell for you, your flamethrowers, your tunnels, and your tech I studied code because I wanted to do something great like you And the real tragеdy is half of it was true
Wilbur majorly fucked up. He was supposed to be with you to the end, your guys’ country, right? No. He left you behind. He went to find peace, find his heaven, while you stayed on earth, wallowing away until your flesh seeped off your rattling bones, rotting away by yourself, with no one to bare witness.
“Why didn’t you bring me with you Wilbur?” you asked his stupid grave on top of the once L’Manburg. “Why did you get the ecstasy, why do I get the remains?”
“I’m coming for you Wilbur, and when I do, we are going to wreck upon justice on everyone who wronged us, wronged you, they will feel our wrath.”
But we've been fuckin' mеan, we're elitist, we're as flawed as any church And this faux-rad West coast dogma has a higher fuckin' net worth I bit the apple 'cause I trusted you, it tastes like Thomas Malthus Your proposal is immodest and insane And I hope someday Selmers rides her fuckin' train
"Y/n!" Technoblade yelled. "I TRUSTED YOU, AND YOU BETRAYED ME, FOR WHAT, TO BLOW UP A STUPID COUNTRY, A COUNTRY THAT WAS DOOMED TO FAIL FROM THE START." He started to battle you, missing every single swing, blinded by fury.
“YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ON MY SIDE.”
"LOOK AT ME GODDAMN IT."
You looked up at him in the eyes and boldly said, "No, Techno, don’t you see, you’re in the wrong here, you’re the one who betrayed me." You were blinded by friendship, you couldn’t see that Tommy had betrayed Techno, and that what the Butcher Army did to Techno was terrible.
"What do you mean Y/n, you know what they did, they wronged me, they used me, they tortured me, they gave me hell, so I gave it back to them, I destroyed the things they loved, the people they loved, you see Y/n, those who have treated me with kindness I will repay that kindness tenfold, and those who treat me with injustice, that use me, that hunt me down, that hurt my friends, I shall repay that injustice a thousand times over, do you understand?"
"No I don't, Techno, you can't do this.” you begged. He pushed you out of the way, "Get out of my way Y/n." “No, I won’t, I won’t let you destroy everything we worked for.”
“Well, then I have to fight you.”
And thus the battle began, Swords clashing against each other, blood spilling from open wounds, friends digging each other into a whole both of them couldn’t get out of. Techno was letting you off easy, he knew his strength, he knew that he could’ve beaten you in one swipe, but he didn’t want to kill you.
So when you had the opportunity, you swept from under his feet, and knocked him down. You placed your blade onto his neck, pressing down until a little drop of blood appeared, “Stay down Technoblade, or I’ll do something worse than try to put you on trial.”
He watched as you walked away from him, trying to save L’Manberg from a worst fate than death itself.
“One day Y/n, you’ll see, I’m on your side.”
I loved you, I loved you, I loved you, it's true I wanted to be you and do what you do I lived here, I loved here, I bought it, it's true I feel so stupid, and so used I feel so used
"Why would you do that Dream? You didn't have to do that." you interrogated. Dream had stupidly blew up the community house. You both didn't plan that, he had gone behind your back. "I had to Y/n, you wouldn't understand."
"What do you mean I don't understand, you went against my back, we were supposed to-" you cut off yourself, "Dream, don't you understand, you did something stupid, and what did you get, you got stupid jail." "The reason I did that is because I needed to isolate myself from humanity." he said, proudness lacing his words.
"What do you mean?" you questioned. "If anyone knows I can revive people, I'm screwed, so that's why I need to be by myself, yeah it sucks major ass, but at least no one else will know, well, besides you anyways." "I have a task for you Y/n/n, I need you to find a way to bring Tommy and Ghostbur in here."
"Why Dream?"
"I'm going to revive Wilbur."
I was your baby, your firstborn, the hot girl in your comp-sci class And I was Darwin's prep school dream, bred, born and raised to kick your ass I fell for circuit boards, rocket ships, pictures of the stars If you could only be what you pretend you are
"PHILZA MINECRAFT COME BACK HERE." you were chasing Phil, through the woody forest, covered by oak trees. He had information on Technoblade's whereabouts and you needed it. You chased him with your enchanted netherite armor, netherite sword and axe, and a few op potions. Your goal was to capture Philza and interrogate him on where Techno's place was. The thing was, you were his child. His own child trying to kill his own son.
He felt betrayed, his own child turned against him and their brother, their family. "The Butcher Army must've gotten to you somehow." he thought in his head. Surely, his darling Y/n didn't do it on their own will, right?
He was incorrect, you did it because you believed that Techno needed to be brought to justice, by punishment. You believed that your own sibling needed to die, because he was a "liability" to L'Manberg's growth and future. He needed to die because as long as he would live his long life with his little enderman Edward, retired, he would still cause trouble to everything you, Quackity, Tubbo, Fundy, and Ranboo had built.
He pleaded, "Stop Y/n, you don't have to do this." You argued, "I do Philza, as long as he lives, my plans for L'Manberg will forever cease to exist."
He felt like shit, you called him Philza, not Dadza, or Dad, or anything besides his normal name. "Did I screw something up?" he asked himself quietly under his breath. "Yes you did Phil, you took the traitor's side." you had heard Phil mumble.
"HE'S NOT A TRAITOR." Phil yelled at you. "Yes he is, he deserves what he is about to get, I will say it again, where is his base?"
"I'm not saying, Y/n, why are you doing this, Techno is your own sibling." "He's not my sibling anymore, that stopped when he destroyed L'Manberg, you're lucky I forgived you." you declared.
"Y/n/n, please don't do this."
"I have to Dadza, I can't let him roam free."
When I said take me to the moon, I never meant take me alone I thought if mankind toured the sky, it meant that all of us could go But I don't want to see the stars if they're just one more piece of land For us to colonize, for us to turn to sand
Bad had tried to convice you to join the Eggpire. You had no effect while being next to the egg, and he had to take you out. People who had no effect towards the egg had to be eliminated.
He was creepily following you, waiting until you stopped to get a chance to capture you. He had hope that you did have an effect, that you would join the Egg with him. He didn't want to kill you, you were his best friend, besides Skeppy of course.
"Come back here Y/n." he said. "No chance in hell Bad, get the fuck away from me." "HEY, LANGUAGE!" he exclaimed. "No language, get away from me, you're creeping me out."
He threw his trident, spinning in the air, trying to catch up to your frantic steps. You were trying to get to Church Prime, where no one could kill anyone, hopefully Bad would abide to that rule. You were just about to step on Church Prime when you bumped into a hard, armored chest.
You looked up shyly, and saw Punz, with his red eyes reflecting anger. "Where are you going Y/n?" he questioned. "Somewhere." you blankly stated. You were desperate, you didn't want to die, or anything else that Bad was going to do to you. You tried to dodge Punz, but he placed a hand on your shoulder, "Stay right here Y/n."
"No, get away from me, I don't know what's wrong with all of you, but go away, I don't want anything to do with your stupid Eggpire." He raged, and grabbed your wrist heavily, "DON'T TALK ABOUT THE EGG LIKE THAT, IT WILL TAKE CONTROL OF THE SERVER, AND YOU ALL WILL BE ITS SERVANTS." "LET ME THE FUCK GO PUNZ." you screamed. You were wiggling in his grip, trying to escape his lunatic self.
While he was holding you, you saw two other shadows behind you. It was Antfrost and Bad. "What do you guys want from me, I didn't do anything wrong."
"You are against the Egg Y/n, people who are like you and Tommy have to die."
"Well, I'm not dying today." you murmured under your breath. "What was that you said?" Antfrost asked you.
You smirked, "I'm not dying today, I'll tell you one more time, let go of me."
Bad and Antfrost walked closer to you, Punz right behind you, all of them cornering you into a tight spot. "What you going to do about it Y/n, you're cornered."
"You'll know when they get here, but for now, you better run boys."
'Cause we're so fuckin' mean, we're so elitist, we're as fucked as any church And this bullshit West coast dogma has a higher fuckin' net worth I bit the apple 'cause I loved you, and why would you lie? And then I realized that you're just as naïve as I am Oh, you're so traumatized it makes me want to cry
"Tubbo, don't do this." Schlatt had unfortunately found out that you were a spy, that you were on Pogtopia's side. He had ordered Tubbo to kill you with fireworks, to light you on fire, give you blisters all over your body. "Please Tubbs, you're my friend." you pleaded.
"I can't Y/n/n, or something worse will happen." he whispered to you. "What do you mean?" you asked. "He can-" he trailed off, looking somewhere else besides your eyes. "Tubbo, you don't have to do what that stupid bastard tells you to do, you're your own person, with your own thoughts and actions."
"I'm sorry Y/n, I hope you can forgive me."
"TUBBO N-" you was cut off by firewords hitting your skin, making blisters and burn marks all over your body. You lost your second canon life, feeling betrayed by Tubbo. He killed you for what, a stupid father who never cared about him in his entire life, a father who exiled his friends that actually treated him like a person, and not like some random piece of trash.
You respawned in your bed, feeling bruises and bumps mostly on your forearms and your back.
"I'll help you Tubbo, I’ll get rid of him.”
You dumb bitch I loved you, I loved you, I loved you, it's true I wanted to be you and do what you do I lived here, I loved here, I bought it, it's true I'm so embarrassed, I feel abused
“Come on Y/n/n, come with me.” Punz begged of you. He wanted you to visit the Egg. You didn’t want to be controlled by a stupid omelette. "I'm not Punzo, why are you so obsessed with that stupid thing."
"DON'T SPEAK OF THE EGG LIKE THAT."
You put your hands in front of you, accidentally touching Punz's chest, "Ok calm down buddy." He didn't calm down and instead yelled at you on why you had to join the Eggpire.
"If you join, you will be forever happy."
"If you join you'll get whatever you want."
You were tired of the members of the Eggpire to convince you to join them, you didn't like eggs anyway. "Punz, for the last time, I'm not joining you, stop telling me."
“Then you have to die.”
So fuck your tunnels, fuck your cars, fuck your rockets, fuck your cars again You promised you'd be Tesla, but you're just another Edison 'Cause Tesla broke a patent, all you ever broke were hearts I can't believe you tore humanity apart
“XD!” You were pissed at him, he had destroyed your house, made your friends pissed at you, just everything you liked. All because he wanted you for himself.
He wanted you to be dependent on his every word, and he was being a manipulative psychopath. And you didn’t tolerate that, it was like he was his human counterpart, Dream.
He walked to you with confidence, waiting for to get a hug from you, well, he didn’t get that. You slapped him so hard his head swung to the left.
“WHAT THE FUCK.”
“That’s what you get you stupid son of a bitch. You fucking ruined everything.” “Calm down Y/n/n, what is wrong?” He acted concerned, but you knew that he was faking. He would do anything to get someone’s approval.
“DO YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT’S WRONG, IT’S YOU, YOUR STUPID PRESENCE IN MY LIFE. YOU KEEP ON WALKING AROUND LIKE YOU FUCKING OWN THE PLACE.”
“Calm down darling, just take some netheri-” you interrupted him by slapping the ore out of his hands. “I don’t need jack shit from you XD, you know what, take back the necklace, I don’t want it.” You pulled the shiny, green emerald necklace off your neck, and pulled XD’s palm out.
You placed the necklace filled with memories, and put it on his hand. You closed up his palm, and walked away, leaving XD to his own accord.
“We could’ve had evertything X.”

"i will keep silent bc people dont like it when i dislike these two" i mean. who cares, its ur blog. do what u want! also theyre shit characters so 💖 speak ur mind
sajdd... they infuriate me. more than any other character.
uh, below! (this took extra long because lmao i was in call brr brr barking w/ a friend who missed the stream and we were both just, so mad at phil & techno)
they've never once lost, in so many definitions of that word. the closest techno has ever gotten to losing anything of value was ranboo, and the way that was treated pisses me off, but i digress for now.
i've watched almost every single dsmp lore stream since august of 2020. i've especially watched every single one for SBI. i want to note rq that this is nothing against c!phil or techno, because they're lovely people.
their characters just infuriate me.
i have gone on about c!phil before- about how you can trace almost every single problematic behavior that c!wilbur has back to his upbringing with phil we know about. the way phil has spoken about wilbur as a child is reminescent of a neglectful or misunderstanding parent. the fact that it was HIM who drove the sword through wilbur's chest, no one else, but he blames everyone else- and to this day hasnt apologized for it or even said he did it. he blames anything else.
we know they have a rocky relationship, its brought up constantly. wilbur put phil with schlatt when he talked about liars. he lied to him about his success- and yet he always goes back to him. he wants that validation from a father, and he never gets it.
c!phil gives out advice that is surface level decent advice to give people, but it ends there. i dont know if it's because he's incapable of reading the room, or if he's really that dense, or just doesnt care about anything but his own morals, or all of the above, but thus far he's given advice to c!tommy and c!wilbur, both times when they looked to exclusively him for advice, and in return they were both told they need to either change fundamentally, or accept it as entirely their fault something happened and apologize to everyone else. for tommy it was his fault that he got exiled and thats because he puts items above people, despite the fact that as a viewer we know thats false, but EVEN from phil's perspective he's never ONCE seen tommy do such a thing. actually, phil has witnessed tommy on multiple occasions have absolutely NOTHING and still defend people. but no, things like being exiled was because of the discs, not because of dream.
phil even has the forsight to admit that dream is creepy, that he's off, that he's no good. he said so! he said so after doomsday, that it was 'just business'. phil was one of the very few people to see tommy during exile, shortly before his party, he gave tommy boots. he saw the state tommy was in, ripped clothing, missing shoes, he saw the holes everywhere. the tent. the fact that dream was there.
so when he heard dream was in prison??? no bells went off? and he broke techno out because techno is a friend and that was a favor- EVEN THOUGH we also know their bond isnt completely solid because phil keeps secrets from techno! such as michael! phil has known about michael for over a year, he met him! he even knew that ranboo was at the very least, hanging out with tubbo. but he didnt tell techno because he feared how techno would react. thats not good. THAT IS NOT A GOOD THING.
but no he listened to techno to break dream out despite feeling 'off' about it. the syndicate makes me mad. for something that is supposed to be a community where they make decisions together, no members wanted to speak up that they didnt want to do the prison break out? feels off.
but THEN. right after the prison break out, when tommy came running to him he has the audacity to be mad at dream for going after tommy right away, calling him a wrongun or whatever the fuck. NO SHIT? ever think maybe there was a reason he was in prison???
but god even when tommy was under his "protection" phil like, made it painfully obvious that he's just tolerating tommy, going along. he had to point out that the walls wouldnt work. mind you, he did this WITH ghostboo, meaning he absolutely KNOWS ranboo is dead. he kept brushing tommy's concerns off, even when he SAW the fall pit.
this isnt even onto wilbur yet. ive made posts before, phil has been and has always been a shit father and grandfather. the way he treat fundy too was just, utterly inexcusable and awful, even despite the whole butcher army thing. he forgave tubbo, but wouldnt even give fundy the time of day to step on the property. and when they finally DID speak, he accused fundy of misremembering or lying about l'manburg and manburg, despite fundy having LIVED THROUGH IT, just because it didnt match his own perception of believed events.
just, oh my god i'd go into more detail if i could think coherently but i am just tired and enraged at an old man.
it hurts so much with wilbur you know. just. he has his son, someone he killed before, in front of him. there should be red flags and alarm bells ringing about the way wilbur spoke of himself. it should be familiar, you'd think, of wilbur's final moments with him. the way he speaks and thinks of himself. and all phil can offer is cookies and 'maybe you should distance yourself from everyone you think you've wronged'
and oh my god the way he treated tommy. "the child". hitting him away. not giving him snacks until wilbur insisted
and i've not even SPOKEN about c!techno man.
c!techno genuinely- im sorry pogtopia? he wasn't used as a weapon. he was an ally. i utterly hate the whole 'the blade' thing, thats his nickname, hell, its his last name he signed legal papers that way!
in pogtopia they all had fun moments. maybe in the end, he was a good ally because of power, but NO one ever asked him to make the armor and weapons. never. he was only ever asked to make a potato farm. no one asked him to gear everyone up.
would they have lost the battle? maybe! though in the end it was everyone against only a few.
i just... techno has never given an apology to someone that mattered, not a full apology, and his apology the tubbo was never full.
but he expects apologies from everyone else. he for some reason, cant be viewed as an antagonist, even though he is literally the antagonist for over half the server and has been since november 16th.
people have apologized to him time and time again but he doesn't care. he wants more.
and today when wilbur apologized his first thoughts weren't anything about wilbur, it was once again about himself. was anyone else against him? wilbur said he didnt know and techno would bring it up again. wilbur apoogized again and told him to ask them.
and techno just went 'yeah okay' and forgave him, but wilbur never needed forgiveness from techno, that's one of the last people he needed it from.
it beyond pisses me off that c!techno and c!phil can over and over again hurt people, and cause pain, but then avoid the blame. sure it was sam who drove a sword through ranboo's chest, but that would've never happened if techno and phil didn't break dream out of prison.
and dream never needed broken out. phil didnt even want to, but he did for techno. which. mind you, hot take? the c!emerald duo friendship is lowkey toxic.
phil cant trust techno enough to tell him about michael. he feared he'd 'do something' and so he lied to him about tubbo and ranboo for months.
phil also can't seem to say no to techno, ever? he cant ever say 'this isnt a good idea.', even if he thinks its not. because in his minds eye techno is either always right, or the ends justify the means just because its techno.
and there's the 'for you the world phil' thing, but have we ever been shown that? and has techno EVER asked phil his opinion about things because i cant recall a time.
but no, phil will criticize tommy for his friendship with tubbo, because he put 'discs over his friend', even though that isn't true, and phil wasnt even there to witness the disc confrontation, and has never seen any evidence of tommy doing that, but can make a basis to claim 'maybe tubbo wasnt much of a friend'.
the difference is tubbo and tommy both have the gall to say 'this is a shit idea' and either go along with each other, or stop one another from doing something. they had their ups and downs but they chose each other and would ask each other their thoughts. they have their faults but emerald duo is NO better, and maybe even, in my opnion, a little worse. but clearly im a bit biased.
this is literally just me ranting & rambling, because i have no uh, time rn to do an analysis and point out every thing that they've done, even though i could. i have done quite a bit with phil and his treatment towards wilbur, its somewhere on my blog.
they're at the very least antagonists and it just, upsets me greatly that they're framed as the good guys, that everyone needs to forgive or ignore their wrong doing, even though they've hurt so many, even those they consider 'friends' (niki & ranboo).
c!phil is a neglectful father and grandfather who is so stuck in thinking he's right that he cant see red flags and alarms of his son being suicidal again.
c!techno is so full of himself that even when he loses someone he cares dearly about, he cant bring him up more than once and is 'done' with it once he's 'completed' a task of saving his son, leaving a widowed husband and his son to be on their own.
whatever, i dont like them, ive not liked them for a very long time and every time i think 'maybe ill give them a chance' it always disappoints.

Remembrance AU: Little Brother Knows Everything
I lied. Here's a bonus chapter.
Warnings: Mention of Death ; Unrequited[?] Love ; Mention of bombs ; Jealousy
Words: 3.1k
Tommy may have been an idiot, but he wasn’t stupid. He noticed the little things more often than he didn’t. But there were four things he knew about you better than anyone else.
Tommy knew that you liked tea.
Siblings, and people in general, seem to have this habitual kind of indicator of their mood. Some people bounced their leg when they were nervous, others liked to twiddle their thumbs or pop joints; It’s different for everyone.
But he could always tell how [y/n] felt by the tea they were drinking.
When they were nervous, they made tea brewed from lavender buds collected from a flower field they often visited with Technoblade or Phil. They brought Tommy once. He had run around the whole area with infinite energy before the blond climbed the tree. He had climbed higher and higher until he could feel the warmth of the setting sun shine on his face. The branch broke, but when he plummeted, he wasn’t scared. They were at the bottom, waiting to catch him. They were always waiting to inevitably catch him no matter if it was from his own stupid decisions or from someone else’s. They got nervous a lot, but when he was by their side, he could never be.
When [y/n] was stressed, they made tea out of the peppermint leaves in their garden. The scent filled their house while it brewed and the act of harvesting the herb was “soothing”. Tommy wasn’t sure how weeding was supposed to be relaxing, but he happily did it when their newest sibling figure asked him to. He remembered pulling out a whole mint plant the first time he had worked beside them, unknowing that that was the plant he was supposed to be protecting. They had laughed, gently scolding him, before setting it aside. Even if they were stressed out, they never took it out on him.
When he was sad or upset, they made chamomile tea with honey. Chamomile is a calming flower, he remembered them saying once. And the honey helped you remember that golden days were ahead. They made it for him every morning after he would wake up in the bed he seemed to sleep in more than his own. Sometimes the honey came from Technoblade, sometimes they had retrieved it themselves from wild hives, but they always seemed to get the best stuff. Even when he cried or started to -what was the word they had used? Disassociate? That sounded correct-, he could expect the mug to be pushed into his hands, a sugary but not cloying aroma wafting off it. He always felt much better when he left. He could never remember seeing them drink the tea, despite having such an abundance of it. Did they even get sad? He had never witnessed it.
When they were happy, they made black tea of various kinds and drank sweet iced tea that reminded him of what diabetes would taste like if it were liquid. They drank this with him almost daily. It was always a new blend they wanted to try and perfect or one they wanted him to taste. He loved smelling this tea the most. When its fragrance filled the air, somehow, everything felt right in the world. He couldn’t recall a single time when he didn’t see them on the porch, drinking the amber liquid out of a glass when they knew he’d be coming over for dinner.
It was the days when you didn’t drink tea at all, he was afraid.
Tommy knew that no matter what someone did to them, [y/n] wasn’t afraid to make enemies or insert themselves between their friends and any sort of danger to protect them.
Dream was surprised to see [y/n] at the meeting between the Greater Dream SMP and L’Manburg. It was only supposed to be him and George convening with Tubbo and Tommy. They held no real power in the country. They didn’t belong in this meeting, just like they didn’t belong in this timeline.
He watched the way they, during George and Tubbo’s discussion, rested a hand on Tommy’s arm when his hands clenched hard enough to turn his knuckles white. He saw how they would murmur quietly to him and the child would relax ever so slightly. He noticed the nods they gave the blond when he looked to the adult for confirmation after he made a questionable statement. He observed your true role here.
“Nice to see you replace Wilbur so quickly, Tommy. That’s good. He was a horrible role model for you.” His lips curled behind his mask at the shocked expression on everyone else’s face aside from the vice president before him. His eyes were sharp, angry. “Maybe without his influence, you’ll actually be a competent leader for something.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Considering L’Manburg was supposed to be totally destroyed and returned back to the Greater Dream SMP, I’m glad you found someone a bit less self-destructive to help keep you under control. We all know Wilbur did a horrible job at it.” Watching the child soldier stand quickly gave him a certain satisfaction.
“Fuck you, bitch! I don’t need to be told what to do.” Dream watched [y/n] give Tommy a warning look and the way he ignored it.
“And yet you followed someone who lost his own presidential race and blew up his own country before seeking out validation from someone else.”
“I don’t-”
“Tommy.” He watched the blond flinch at the edge to your voice and look down at you.
“He’s saying I-”
“I’m aware. He’s just trying to rile you up. It’s what he does. Ignore him.” The glare they sent him made a sharp jolt go down his spine, but he couldn’t help the chuckle that spilled from his covered mouth.
“Listen to your sibling, Tomathy. At least this one is sane. And if they kill themself, they’ll come back.” Tommy opened his mouth once more to say something before it snapped closed and he released a breath through his nose.
“I don’t need this.” The slam of the door echoed through the now quiet room.
Dream’s attention was immediately back on [y/n]. He watched them square their shoulders and lower their head to look him dead-on. Their glare met him with a hidden fury threatening to break forth and raise the hell that seemed to be just as deeply rooted in them as it was the company they kept. Their lips were pursed in a way that made his own grin grow larger. "Wilbur may not have been the best man. He may have hurt me and put the rest of L’Manburg in this situation. But that is our business alone, and you have no right to say anything bad about him or about Tommy, for that matter."
There was a pregnant pause and he heard George start laughing awkwardly to dispel the tension before being hushed hurriedly by Tubbo.
“And what is it you’ll do to me if I do?” Dream kept his voice level.
“You know why I’m here and who’s behind me. You can use your imagination..” They stood, chair scraping against the floor loudly. “I’m going to check on Tommy.” “But we’re not done!” They stopped at the door, hand resting on the handle.
“I’m sure you can handle the rest by yourself, Tubbo. You know what to do.” They looked at him over their shoulder, before glancing over George and then settling on the man in green. “Don’t you ever speak his name ever again. Or we just might have to build that prison you mentioned. Am I understood?” Sullen nods came from the monarch and the president as they stormed out.
“Well, that was something.”
Tommy had been sitting in the hallway, curled in on himself the same way he had been after the Pit incident.
“Toms?”
“Why is he even here?”
You sat next to him, back resting against the wall.
“Because he cares about George. Kinda like why I was in there for you.” You felt the taller lean against you and relax when you wrapped your arm around him. “I’ll always be here for you, Kiddo.”
You felt him nod and you pressed a kiss to his hair.
“You know I’m not trying to replace Wilbur, right?”
“Of course not. We were like brothers.” His lips quirked a little when he heard your laugh.
“If he were here, I’m sure he’d tell you not to say that or he’d cry.”
“Good. Fucking bitch.”
He didn’t know what he’d do if you never came back.
Tommy knew that the only other person who loved you as much as he did was Technoblade.
Techno had never felt jealous of Tommy before. Or really anyone. He was pretty secure in his position as your best friend, and the vast amounts of platonic affection you showered him with kept him content. Even during the Pogtopia rebellion, watching the looks and touches Wilbur gave you or seeing the child sneak into your bed for another night in a row didn’t make him jealous. So why did he suddenly have the very real impulse to shove the blond off the side off a cliff just to retake some of your attention?
The hybrid watched you talk with your hands as you recounted the night before and your surprise at finding Tommy already there when you came home from Phil’s. He was happy he had been right. You and Philza were similar in many ways and got along well. You would constantly joke with Techno that you were trying to get yourself adopted by the older blond and he would just respond with an amused “don’t tempt him, he might.”. You would always laugh in response.
That was always the best sound.
He listened to your words as he topped off the teacup in front of you with more of the red-tinted liquid. The warm scent of earl grey and roses wafted off of the cup tinged with the subtle tang of the orange peel he had added on a whim. You were right in your suggestion. Citrus always makes deeper teas better.
“If it’s really that bad, the offer to move in still stands. I have more than enough room and you can escape that raccoon.” He snickered at the pout that rested on your lips.
“I never said that I didn’t like it! And don’t call Tommy a raccoon.” He sipped his own tea.
“It’s true. Gets into trash, beady little eyes, a nuisance. He even breaks into your house.”
“He has a key, Tech. It’s different.” You had rolled your eyes at him, but the smile on your face spoke of your fondness for them both. He felt the small well of jealousy in his chest flare. Did Tommy know how privileged he was? He hoped the child knew.
“I’m just sayin’. Whenever you want to leave that place, my door will always be open for you.” He watched your smile soften and the firm squeeze when you reached across the table for his forearm.
“I appreciate it, but Tommy needs me still. Maybe one day, okay?” He grunted at you and you giggled. “Who knows, maybe Phil will come with! He could build his own little cabin and everything.”
“I’ve already extended the offer to him as well. He said he’ll think about it.” You shook your head.
“He’s probably trying to figure out how close to the meadow he’d be in comparison.”
“Man loves the flowers, what can he say?”
“Sure, it’s definitely the flowers.” You sipped your tea with a knowing grin.
“What else would it be?” He watched the glint in your eyes, seeing exactly what Tommy had always said about you. They had seemed a lot deeper lately, more knowledgeable. The child had always claimed that you spoke like you knew more than you let on and he saw it in your smile sometimes, but the look you were giving him right at that moment confirmed it.
“Maybe it’s all the memories.”
He couldn't imagine you not returning the feelings they both held for you, despite the vast difference.
Tommy knew that you wouldn’t hide anything from him unless it was absolutely imperative.
He found you sitting in the living room, curled into an old recliner that you would never tell him where it came from. You felt Tommy haphazardly throw his arms around your shoulders from behind, releasing a small sigh of contentment as he pressed his face further into your neck.
"Hey, Kiddo, what’re you up to?" His grip on you slackened, and you could almost feel his face draw up to a small pout. He absolutely hated that nickname but couldn’t deny the small warmth that flared in his stomach whenever you called him it.
"[Y/n], how many times have I asked you to stop calling me that?" He removed himself from you when you shrugged your shoulders.
"Sorry, Toms, the nickname stays. You're too much of a brat for it to leave." He groaned, eyebrows drawing together. You knew he wasn’t entirely mad at the name. He wouldn’t have whined the way he did if he truly wanted you to stop. You and Tommy seemed to share a wavelength. It wasn’t the same one you shared with Techno, but it was just as perfect. You wished you could tell him why it was.
The realization set a rock that started in your throat and slowly started to sink to your stomach. It spread through you, causing a wet hot sensation to form behind your eyes. You’d never be able to tell your little brother your deepest secret. What if he hated you? What if he told everyone else and they cast you out? What if he felt he couldn’t trust you anymore?
Carefully pulling yourself out of your own thoughts, you looked up at the child. “I’m sorry, what was it you wanted?”
"Can I talk to you?" Your eyes flicked to the book you were reading before back to him. You knew what he wanted. A bookmark was wedged between pages and the room was silent before you stood. "Sure, kiddo. Is it going to be a long chat?" You set off to the kitchen, soon pouring some water into an old kettle that Phil had given you the day that you had awoken. You had been “gone” for over a full day. Aside from Phil, no one else knew what had happened and where you went.
An opaque jar was pulled from the cupboard, carefully opened, and he watched as purple buds, green leaves, and yellow-white flowers were deposited gently onto the mesh cloth that you would tie into a sachet. He had never seen them combine those teas. He didn’t even realize you had such a large jar of it stored.
“What happened at Phil’s?” You hesitated before steadying your hand and pouring the steaming water into a teapot before setting the sachet in. It floated for a moment before you used the string to dunk the bag a few times to soak it before it sank midway.
You only pulled one mug down.
You gestured for him to sit at the table and he took it. You could see the way his anxiety rose even higher when you didn’t sit across from him.
“What day? I’ve been at Phil’s a lot lately.”
“Oh fuck off. You know what day I’m talking about.” You shrugged, trying to keep your expression even.
“I really don’t, Tommy. You’re going to have to narrow it down for me.” Your fight or flight instincts were dialed to high when he gave you a knowing look.
“You don’t have to lie to me, [y/n]. I’m not a child.”
“Yes, you are, and I’m not lying.” You flinched when he slammed his hands on the table, chair screeching as it was slid back with too much force before it fell backwards.
“Then why have you changed?” You froze. “You used to love spending time with me before-”
You wanted to reach out, to comfort him, when you saw his lips quiver, but he turned his head away from you. He couldn’t look you in the eye.
“Before you were gone for almost two days and came back wrong. You don’t talk like how you used to either. It’s like you know things, but like, more than you used to. And come to find out from Ranboob, you had gone to Philza’s house. What did he tell you?”
You just shook your head, wanting to tell him you remembered him. You remembered every timeline he was in. Every moment he had fought for what he believed in and won. Every time he had died. Every timeline he could have died.
“Did I do something? Is it because of Ghostbur? Do you-” He looked back up at you, looking exactly like the sixteen year old he was supposed to be. “Do you hate me?”
“Of course not, Tommy. Why in the world would you ever think that?”
“Then why won’t you tell me what’s going on? Siblings don’t keep secrets.”
“They do when they’re trying to protect the ones they love, Tommy.” You watched his face grow red in frustration.
“You’re not always gonna be there for me, [y/n]!”
“You don’t know that.”
“Why won’t you just tell me?” His voice broke, and so did your heart.
“Because you’re still just a kid, Tommy. And I think sometimes you forget that. And everyone else too. And I can’t tell anyone what happened.”
“But why? I stopped being a child when we won our first war. I should be able to hear about this!”
“Because the things I saw, the things I heard, no one else should have to bear this weight.” You swallowed back your tears. This was no time to cry. “You can be mad at me all you want, Tommy. But I’m still the same [y/n] who tucks you into bed and links pinkies with you on the Prime Path and who will always be there for you.”
The hurt look he gave you would haunt you for the rest of your lifetimes.
“Then why won’t you let me be there for you?” You could only shake your head.
“Because that’s not how it works, Kiddo.” Tommy’s eyes hardened and he sucked in a quivering breath.
“Fine.” He started walking back towards the door.
“Toms, where are you going?” He didn’t answer you.
His tea was bitter and cold by now, and for a moment, he couldn’t help but feel the same.
Tommy knew all those things about you. So why did it feel like maybe he didn’t know you at all?

Sure, we could say that Tommy is physically normal after revival,
But that's no fun.
So, how about this:
People weren't made to been revived. Bringing the dead back has consequences.
When Tommy came back, he wasn't the same, and I'm not just talking about trauma.
His body is much more fragile, and is more zombie-like than human. He has phantom pains now, and any recent wounds rot really fast. Healing potions hurt him and potions of harming heal him. He's truly undead in every way except mentally. Being revived has more or less shoved his spirit back into a corpse.
This is another reason why he's afraid of pain, because witnessing his body rot away adds onto the trauma.
Scars litter his body, both old and new.
Even with Ranboo, Tubbo, and Puffy's support, he retreats into his head and dirt shack. He refuses to leave the space, terrified of everything.
But... when he meets Michael, something protective takes hold. Here is a child free of the traumas he and others have faced. Not only that, but Michael looks at Tommy and doesn't run and hide. He loves his big brother Tommy.
Tubbo and Ranboo watched the progress that Tommy has made since meeting their son. They've watched Tommy hide away from everything, afraid of even being touched, to going on walks with Michael and running around with the kid. With Michael, Tommy allows physical contact. He gives the kid piggy back rides, he reads out loud while Michael sits in his lap, and they've even napped together, with Michael curled into Tommy's body.
Sometimes, even if he doesn't get hurt, his scars rot away when not taken care of for a period of time. Tubbo has taken to treating Tommy when this happens, and even makes the boy do check-ups. Michael loves to help, playing doctor with Tommy. He's not disgusted by the rot like others are, and maybe that has something to do with them both being zombies of sort.
Even if Tommy is still scared of the world, he makes progress everyday. His support system are there for him.
And then something bad happens.
It was just a picnic with the four of them, and Michael had wondered off. Tommy left to look while Tubbo and Ranboo relax. None of them were particularly worried. Next thing they know, there's an explosion and loud squeals of fear. The two of them race towards the distressed sounds, only to find a creeper hole and a curled up figure at the bottom. Tommy was unconscious, injured, and curled around Michael. Luckily Michael didn't have a scratch on him, but thats because Tommy took the hit.
Tubbo, who always caries potions of harming for both his undead son and best friend, is quick to tend to Tommy while Ranboo calms their distressed child. While most of the burns and rot heals, Tommy took a lot of damage to his head— more specifically, his right eye. Tubbo would've gagged if he wasn't already used to gruesome injuries. He's learned to numb himself as a child soldier.
Tommy remains unconscious for a few days, and he stays at Tubbo's home in Snowchester. Michael sits by his bed, worried for his uncle. Tubbo assures the piglin child that Tommy was strong and would be up in no time.
The first thing Tommy sees when he wakes up is Tubbo, as Michael was long asleep after he'd been promised that Tommy would be looked after.
"Tubso...?"
Happy that his best friend was awake, Tubbo had pulled Tommy into a hug, though it was gentler than the normal bone-crushing embraces. "You scared us! What were you thinking!?"
Returning the hug as best as he could, Tommy answered: "I saw the creeper and acted, Big Man. What kind of big brother would I be if Michael got hurt?"
Apparantly, they weren't quiet enough, because both are alerted to the sound of small hoof-steps. Smiling, Tommy invites the kid into the bed, who immediately snorts happily and curls up into his side. And in that moment, Tubbo wants to cry tears of joy— he saw the way Tommy looked down at his son, and was reminded of how Wilbur used to look at Tommy and Fundy. Just the sheer amount of love... and Tommy wasn't even aware of his own expression.
When Tommy catches Tubbo's staring, he rolls his eyes and scoots himself and Michael over. "Get in here already, Big Man. Its late and I'm exhausted." With no further invitation needed, Tubbo climbs in and presses against Tommy's other side. That's how Ranboo found them in the morning (he took pictures so that none of them would ever forget.)
A few days after that, they take the bandages off Tommy's head and reveal his eye— just a socket now. Trying to make the best of the situation, Tommy cracks a smile and looks at Michael: "Looks like we're matching, Big M,"
Surprisingly, the creeper explosion didn't set Tommy back in progress. In fact, a little bit of the old Tommy was coming back to him after the experience. He started venturing out more, though not without armor anymore. He also finally moved out of that cruddy dirt shack and moved into Snowchester.
Tommy wore an eyepatch most of the time nowadays, not wanting people to stare at his socket. He only took it off around people he felt safe around. Those being Puffy, Tubbo, Ranboo, and Michael. He still got the odd looks at the eyepatch from people who didn't know, but those that did never commented on it.
With the mansion nearly complete, Ranboo decided that he wanted to move some of his stuff in. While he still lived in his cabin by Techno, he also wanted to stay with Tubbo and Michael. So the compromise was that he'd live in both homes. With that settled, Tommy promised to help Ranboo move some of his things over.
Now, this was the first time since right before the "final confrontation" with Dream that he's seen Techno and Phil. Of course, they'd heard he was locked in the prison, and there was a rumor going around that he died, but neither realy knew what he went through.
So of course Techno starts a fight with Tommy about being on his property.
Of course Tommy's stubbornness gets the best of him and he immediately starts arguing back. Ranboo watches the train wreck that is Techno and Tommy's relationship. Phil stands behind Techno, only jumping in to agree with his friend.
"And whats even with the eyepatch? It looks so stupid!"
Snarling, Tommy clenches his fists. "You wanna know whats with the eyepatch? Fine." He rips it off to reveal the rotting socket. It was about time for the weekly checkup anyways, but he wanted to help Ranboo first.
Shocked silence falls over the two anarchists, and Tommy feels a sense of satisfaction.
"...I– Tommy?" Phil was at a loss for words.
"It turns out being revived from the dead isn't all sunshine and flowers. But, I guess neither is being beat to death by your abuser either, innit."
They were already carrying everything that Ranboo wanted to take with him, do with that, Tommy starts to head back for the nether portal.
Suddenly pulled from his shock, Techno reaches for Tommy, wanting– no, needing an explanation. The voices in his head were all confused on how to feel, and he felt much the same. "Theseus–"
Ranboo grabs Techno's wrist before he could touch Tommy. Ranboo, who had talked about having the backbone of a chocolate eclair, had a look in his eyes. Something dangerous and protective that made Techno back off. "Do not touch him." Ranboo had hissed before realizing what he did and getting flustered. "He, uh– he doesn't like being touch..." Ranboo mumbles before hurrying after Tommy.
Techno and Phil are left to wonder what happened to a boy once so full of life. The thought that they were partially of fault for this weighed heavy on them.
---
I didn't really go back and proof read this, it was mostly just a single stream of consciousness over the past couple hours of writing.

Hey guys! Did you know that in one version of Peter Pan, he was the only one who didn’t grow up and when the other Lost Boys grew close to adulthood, he would kill him? And did you know that Hook was one of the Lost Boys and his entire crew was most likely escaped Lost Boys? Isn’t that Fucked Up or what?
We can make an au out of this.
So F-ed up Peter Pan au everybody! It’s called that because it is Fucked Up!
Basically, in this au, Dream is the Peter Pan of this story and like always, he’s immortal and if anyone even gets close to adulthood, he would fucking stab them and just tell the other Lost Kids that they simply, uh...disappeared. Went off to the true Neverland or something like that.
Now then, Phil here is basically the Captain Hook of the story. He realized that something fucked up is happening around. Neverland and after he secretly witnesses a murder of one of his close friends by Dream, he skedaddles out of there and just goes and just hides.
He’s going to live out the rest of his life in hiding, with his fish, and his weird crows that always seem to follow him. And then he’s going to die on his own terms and not by Dream.
Then he goes and meets these two brothers called Wilbur and Techno. Apparently they were just exploring and were the newest additions to Dream’s merry little band of Lost Boys.
He was sort of going to just hide away again but those two are persistent and they keep meeting them and they talk and oh no. He’s gotten attached to them.
Eventually he tells them the truth about Neverland and about Dream and tells them to leave now.
Wilbur leaves, Techno stays. Not even Phil or Wilbur’s begging can get him to leave. So the brothers bare a farewell and they both go there separate ways.
Phil and Techno then make the Antarctic Syndicate and start rescuing Lost Kids who are at the age where they’re about to be offed by Dream. And soon, they make an entire crew out of them.
Dream of course spins the tale of the Antarctic Syndicate being evil and the bad guys here, saying that they would kidnap kids and would kill them afterwards. It doesn’t help that like 90% of them are actually kids. So they believe him and are hostile towards the Antarctic Empire despite Phil and Techno trying to save them.
Fast Forward some years and Wilbur now has a son named Fundy and has pretty much adopted Tommy as his younger brother. Life is good. Yeah he misses his twin and yeah he sort of had that traumatic revelation of Neverland when he was younger but he’s satisfied. He’s okay and he’s happy.
Then Dream catches whiff of this and decides that as punishment for Wilbur leaving Wonderland, he’ll manipulate Fundy, Tommy, and their friends, Ranboo, Tubbo, and Purpled to come with him to Neverland.
Cue Wilbur panicking and finding a way to get back to Neverland to save them.
We’re going to get sword fights, existential crisis about growing up, found family, pirate ships, manipulative bastard Dream, and Wilbur being a good brother and father. Let’s go.

the difference between static and dynamic characters on the dream smp
Hi, hello, it's Ruby, back with another PSA because this fandom (specifically the people on Twitter) keeps getting worse.
/dsmp /rp
Recently, people started claiming c!Techno was boring because he never had any character development.
Now, this may come as a surprise to some of you, but if you in any capacity decide to study the ins and outs of creative writing, you'd learn that characters don't need to have character development to be compelling, loved by the audience, and have a complex personality.
This is what is called a static character. Not to be confused with flat characters. What's the difference?
Most articles seem to agree on this;
"Static characters should not be confused or mixed up with flat, one-dimensional characters. Though neither changes as the story progresses, if a character remains unchanged, it does not mean that he is one-dimensional like a flat character. A static character can be perfectly interesting, like Sherlock Holmes, who is completely ingenious, eccentric, and sometimes jerky. He never changes, but the audience still loves him. Thus, a static character could be the protagonist too, and a flat character, on the other hand, only plays a side role in the story." - ( link to definition )
Static characters are ones that don't experience any personal growth during the span of the story. They're often used in writing, because they're realistic and can be interesting if well-written. This article provides examples such as the aforementioned Sherlock Holmes, Captain America from The Avengers, and TommyInnit from the Drea- [gunshots]
But in all seriousness, c!Tommy is very easily a static character; a lot of the criticism of his character is about the fact that he doesn't change. He does gain experience and new relationships, he does suffer and becomes more and more traumatized, he does make choices out of impulse or emotion, but none of that is character development - he never overcomes his character flaws, including selfishness, stubbornness, and a lack of compassion or empathy for others. And I do not blame him for it as a person, and I do not consider him a badly-written character, even if he's a little frustrating to watch sometimes.
c!Tommy has two main reasons why he remains a static character.
a) he doesn't live in a constructive environment
It is normal for boys Tommy's age to be low on empathy. It's completely normal for them to be chaotic, immature pricks, because that is part of their growth. All of this would be just fine if c!Tommy was growing up in a highschool; however, he in actuality grew up on a land ruled by politics, wars and conflict.
I do not like using the age excuse, because I do not believe it makes his bad choices any more justified, but it's easy to realize why him being in such a position could stunt his personal growth.
At that age, you need guidance, whether it be from teachers, parents, or whatever other figures you're able to find around you. Usually, it is not difficult to find good people to look up to in today's world, but for c!Tommy, that isn't true.
In the pre-L'Manberg, post-Tommy era, there was moderate peace. Yes, there were conflicts, but none of them were damaging in the long term for anyone involved, and they were chaotic scuffles more than fights of ideals.
Once c!Wilbur came along, c!Tommy latched onto him. We all know how that went.
None of the adults Tommy had looked up to were in any capacity helpful to him growing or becoming a better person. He helped lead a revolution to help Wilbur gain power, he was lead to help Wilbur lead and unfair election, and witnessed the breakdown of the man he trusted shortly after. He was subjected to emotional manipulation by Dream, and then came to the wrong person for help. None of these things are reasons for positive change.
b) it's his major character flaw
Even in the few chances he had at genuine change, at forgiveness, at letting go, all provided by the environment or people around him, he didn't take them. Tommy doesn't like change, he fights it, and that is why he always loses. He doesn't want to change for the better, and he despises himself when he changes for the worse.
He looks for peace in a lack of activity, growth, or development. He searches for happiness in not letting go of the past, but hanging onto it for dear life, terrified that the people around him might change because he doesn't want to. And that is why, as long as he keeps this mindset, he'll never find it.
While other characters, such as Tubbo, Dream, Wilbur or Quackity seek to change the world around them, for the better or the worse, to rewind or to progress, and are willing to change themselves accordingly, Tommy does the opposite, because his biggest fear is people drifting apart and leaving him behind.
Let's get back to the point, then; what makes Technoblade a static character, and a good one at that?
His motivation is simple; he is a lawful character who sticks to his morals through thick and thin, follows a strict inner code, and is loyal to people above all.
On top of that, he is given no reason to change his morals.
No one's arguments against c!Techno have ever made much sense, let's be honest, and ever since he'd entered the server, Techno's been proven right over and over and over again.
He saw Wilbur face the consequences of having power over other people and then losing it, seeing the influence of corruption on the man he worked with. He was forced by the government to kill another person, to kill an ally, to kill an innocent. He was betrayed and used by the Pogtopian revolution, which knowingly kept things from Techno and fought to seize power, rather than destroy it. He was unfairly executed without a trial by corrupt politicians just absolutely demolishing the Geneva convention, holy crap people call Techno a war criminal, just in that one stream New L'Manberg commited so many war crimes-
Point stands that people say one thing and then do the other. Talk of freedom and then force people to do things (and no, forcing people not to force other people to do things doesn't count nor does it make Techno a hypocrite, get a better argument). Techno was never manipulated or swayed to someone's side against his ideals because he's not a man of words; he believes in what he sees, not what people tell him, especially since he's been repeatedly lied to.
That is the first thing a good static character needs; a strong motivation. Through everything that's happened, I'd say without a doubt that Technoblade has the strongest motivation out of everyone, which is to emancipate people from the tyranny of their rulers - not just sing about it and then establish a dictatorship - but to in fact do it, no matter the cost.
He's a very Paragon-type character, which is a common type of static; his moral code is too strong to allow emotional change.
Another thing a static character needs is personality. And Techno - if you watch his streams, not just others' perspectives - has a lot of that. From his bond with Phil and Ranboo to fondness of animals to sense of humour, the character is entertaining to watch and follow. You know what to expect of him, you know he won't betray, and that despite the flaws he has he will not let personal issues hold him back. He wins because he trains, and he puts hours into pulling crazy stunts, and he's persistent - it's satisfying for the people watching his perspective to see his efforts pay off.
His interactions with others are characterized by an attempt at kindness, no matter how many times he might fail at separating his personal life from the ideals he's pursuing.
And that is compelling! To draw parallels to Tommy again, the kid has so much personality that other characters could borrow from him and he'd still be fun to watch!
Neither Tommy nor Techno are flat characters, and I think that is the mistake a lot of people make when misinterpreting both the characters; Tommy and Techno are amazing examples of great static characters in fiction, and I'd like to applaud cc!Tommy and cc!Techno for being brilliant writers.

Hi! Welcome to our new segment called "The SMP has morally gray storyline so stop treating it like everything is black or white: Rant Edition"
The reason why Tubbo was compared to Schlatt in the first place was because he didn't inform his cabinet of his decision of exiling Tommy. This is a valid reason for his cabinet to be upset but unfortunately, they took the situation as an opportunity to manipulate Tubbo to do their bidding.
Knowing the full story, Tommy had no right to call Tubbo "a monster" but looking at purely Tommy's perspective, he was pretty valid in saying so (allegedly kicking Wilbur out of NLM, putting Phil in house arrest, planning to execute Techno, and of course, his entire exile). Same goes to the times Tubbo called Tommy "selfish and a liability." Both are unfair portrayals of each character's actions but are completely understandable since their relationship has been tainted by miscommunication and "hear-says" from biased/unrealiable sources.
During the El Rapids storyline, Dream had the right to call Quackity a terrorist although we know it wasn't purely because of the fake strike and the siege of the throne but as a political tactic for his own benefit. However, Karl also had the right to call Dream a tyrant because why else would you get yourself involved in an affair of two nations of which you aren't even a part of and go as far as to speak over the king and use your godly powers as a threat. Like :D
Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo are the only ones who actually care about maintaning peace and justice in the server. I could not stress this enough: "The fate of the entire server rests on their hands." Quackity? On a power high. Fundy and Niki? Running away from their problems and building a new country to sastify their own desires. Phil? Protecting Techno is his #1 priority, anything else nada. Techno? On a revenge arc and owes a favor to a person who goes against the very core of his anarchic (?) ideals. These three are the only ones willing to call out bullshit eveb if it means a loss in power or comfort but, currently, they're all facing difficulties to do so. Tommy is literally overloaded with trauma and is questioning the world as he knows it. Tubbo is being manipulated by Dream and his cabinet. Ranboo has memory issues, is easily peer-pressured and is isn't really taken seriously by the wide majority. The SMP is fucked if they don't pull their shit together.
Tommy has the right to say that nobody cared about him during his exile because he has said multiple times in passing how depressed and tired he has been since living in Logstedshire. He even has mentioned Dream's manipulative tendencies multiple tomes. But even after all that, Ranboo was the only to actually recognize and do something about it (Sapnap as well but he's too pre-occupied with El Rapids). Not even his own father did.
Canonically, Phil is a terrible father and grandfather. He calls out bullshit but never makes an effort to fix them. Old man disowned his furry grandson for wanting to kill Techno but doesn't explain to him Techno's reasoning with the war crimes in the first place. Old man also did nothing to save Tommy from exile even after witnessing the shit his son is going through. (I know its not in the script and I respect that but we gotta call out bs. Hope they give Phil redemption other than being a good pal to only Techno :D)
Both Pogtopia and Techno are at fault for the government clash incident. Pogtopia has expressed multiple times of how they want to reclaim L'manberg. It was Techno's mistake to not infer that it included the government especially since the heads of the operation were the ex-president and vice president of the nation. Additionally, Techno kept saying stuff like "We'll burn the bridge when we get there," whenever he gets asked on his opinion about the revolution. And that is called miscommunication at its finest. However, this does not discredit the fact that Pogtopia did use Techno as a literal weapon without further inspecting his stance whatsoever.
On the topic of Pogtopia and Techno, in the moment where its revealed that Techno is going to betray Tommy, don't say its karma. They were both used as weapons during that era, Tommy far beyond that. He wasn't even the one to institute the government when they won, it was Wilbur. Think of it as Tommy as the handle and Techno was the blade. It fits perfectly to their dynamic during that era. Also, don't try to reason out manipulation wth.
Last point, to the people who were disappointed that Tommy never got to "learn his lesson" after he escaped from Dream, do not become parents. Just don't. You really expect a literal teenager who just escaped from an abusive relationship to think about that? Bitch, Tommy never had time to even think about his trauma and you expect him to be like "ye, i was irresponsible," in a snap? If anything, the exile just showed him that he and his discs are being used a political leverage (he even said that he's the only one Dream is scared of) so of course, Tommy is going to try to take his discs back as a way to end the bullshit he and everyone he holds dear has gone through. We don't even know if he's going to put it in an e-chest or burn it (probably the latter). Guys. Please. The child literally went through hell and back. Give him therapy before lecturing him about being "selfish." (Again, you have no right to call him that in the first place.)
Appreaciate the storyline for what it is and stop trying to fight each other over who was right and who's in the wrong like please. The only redeemable (by redeemable i mean saints amongst men y'know maybe should not have used that word to begin with but ahhhhhh) characters here is Ranboo (Edit: Also Niki haha woops, thank you for reminding me) if I'm completely honest. (I am going against everything I stand for to not include Tommy and Tubno in that sentence but I said what I said.)

The First Two Weeks of Dream SMP Season 2: In Review
So two weeks of Dream SMP Season 2 have passed, and so far it’s been unlike any post-war period before. Far from being a peaceful lull, Season 2 has been perhaps the most chaotic, tension-filled, dramatic “peacetime” the SMP has ever had.
Let’s summarize!
---
Overall, the tone of Season 2 has been both similar to Season 1 while taking on some new changes. For one thing, there’s a far greater emphasis placed on lore, backstories and family dynamics.
Questions from the ridiculousness of Season 1 are being answered in Season 2, sometimes with some strange or cursed-sounding results. For example, the circumstances of Fundy’s birth were mostly a joke in Season 1 (I’m pretty sure they went literal months without even mentioning Sally’s name once), but now that there’s effort being made to explain it, as well as the birth of certain other Sleepy Bois, we’ve gained some...interesting...developments...*cough* Phridge *cough*
Since Season 1, Tommy’s become a Sleepy Boi and is therefore incorporated into the SBI family dynamic, especially now that Philza’s joined the server. Ranboo may or may not be Niki’s brother? Fundy and Dream are getting married soon, and Puffy and Niki have a romance as well.
New Members:
In one of the largest waves of new members in SMP history, several new people have been added to the server in a very short amount of time.
Philza
Captain Puffy
Connoreatspants
Vikkstar
Lazarbeam
Ranboo
---
Schlatt’s Funeral
Schlatt’s funeral, overseen by Badboyhalo, was held at the edge of New L’manberg. His organs were looted by the citizens. Everyone keeps hinting at possibly reviving Schlatt somehow. Currently, Schlatt’s remaining organs are kept on sale in Puffy’s L’Targay, a new structure on the server replacing Purpled’s Walmart.
Ongoing/New Building Projects
Some important ongoing building projects / new builds include: Karl’s Party Park, HBomb’s L’Cast, Vikkstar and Lazarbeam’s Boomerville, the Prime Path Shops, Purpled’s Skull Base, Awesamdude’s Place of Business, Punz’s house and Eret’s Museum
Important Plotlines/Character Updates:
Tommy’s done his best to make everyone on the server angry with him, which has currently led to the border skirmish plotline going on right now. He’s destroyed Puffy’s house, George’s house, griefed Fundy’s house and moved Ponk’s tower, leading to some animosity with all of them. His griefing of George’s house especially has  led to Tommy being on probation. Will Tommy be exiled? Or will this lead to another war? L’manburg is looking awfully flammable right now.
One of the other main plotlines that’s been going on has been Fundy’s character arc with Wilbur. Now that Philza’s on the server, and Wilbur’s perma-dead and ghosty, Fundy’s family drama can finally come to a head and break some hearts. Fundy reprises his role as the “main character” of the story for this particular plot, something that hasn’t really happened since the Pet War. This arc started at the very beginning of Season 2 when everyone was rebuilding L’manburg.
Related is the arc of Ghostbur in particular. Wilbur’s stuck around after death, seemingly for some “unfinished business.” He doesn’t remember any negative memories, and continually forgets them whenever somebody tries to hold him accountable for his past crimes. Will Ghostbur ever settle his issues and gain a peaceful rest?
There’s been some talk of the Disc War Continuation in the future, especially concerning the Badlands. Skeppy still has one of Tommy’s discs, but who knows when that drama will sort itself out. Dream brought up the discs when talking with Tubbo about exiling Tommy. While Skeppy has one of the discs, Dream wants to put Tubbo in a tough enough position that Tubbo has to give Dream the other disc, which would put both discs functionally in his hands.
The Dream Team has been a lot more active on the SMP recently, which is interesting. George, the new king, is actually on the server! So far he’s mainly participated in multiple dress-up roleplay sessions, cosplaying Simpsons characters, Professor Snape, and Dream himself. Sapnap has streamed recently as well, continuing his ongoing relationship drama with fiancés Karl and Quackity. Dream has gotten himself into some shenanigans, including vandalism and muggings, and is currently reprising his role as the main Big Bad of the server. It’s almost strange seeing them so active on the server again, but a welcome change! Even Callahan’s dropped by to join in - the SMP’s funniest reindeer, everyone!
Quackity may or may not be possessed? Puffy’s mentioned that Quackity wants to bring back Schlatt, but Puffy is currently in possession of all of Schlatt’s body parts. She’s also mentioned that Connor is looking to revive Schlatt as well. Connor hasn’t gotten super involved in the storyline yet, mostly just vibing on his own, but perhaps he will eventually. Quackity has also taken the role of honorary vice president in Tommy’s absence.
Tubbo’s been acting a little strangely as well too, recently. While he’s been the most responsible president of L’manberg by far, he’s shown that he’s not immune to corruption, to the point where even Philza’s started questioning loyalties to L’manberg. Tubbo’s handling of the situation with Tommy shows maturity, but when he’s put between a rock and a hard place, what will come first? Tommy or L’manburg? And is Tubbo prone to the same corruption that Wilbur and Schlatt went through?
Meanwhile, Techno’s almost nowhere to be seen. He terrorized Fundy a bit at the beginning, and he’s logged on to say his own name of course, but besides that the Blade has been remaining as mysterious as ever. Wanted posters bearing his image have sprouted up all over New L’manburg.
One side effect of Fundy’s adoption plot is the plotline’s relation to Eret, who has been dethroned. Will Eret try to take power back from Dream? What will their relationship be as father-in-law and son-in-law, if the adoption goes through?
The newest members - Phil, Puffy, Connor, Vikk, Lazar and Ranboo, have all gotten started settling into the server. Who knows what their relations will be to the plots? Will they get involved, or stick to the sidelines where there’s peace?
So far, besides Phil of course, Puffy and Ranboo have been the most involved in the main plot. Dream seems to like getting into chaos on Puffy’s streams in particular, having her as a “witness” to his actions. Puffy is an agent of chaos herself and has unofficially “adopted” Dream as a sort of pet, driving her loyalties towards the Dream Team. Despite this, she has also been on a date and promised herself to Niki, who is of course loyal to L’manburg. If Puffy ends up siding with Dream, will Niki be able to keep her loyalty to L’manburg, or will she switch sides to be with Puffy?
Meanwhile, Ranboo has been suggested to be Niki’s brother and was an accomplice to Tommy’s crimes against George. Tommy defended Ranboo from consequence, but considering how short of a time it took Ranboo to get wrapped up in the plot, who knows what will happen in the future?
Vikkstar and Lazarbeam have also joined the SMP as a pair, and similar to Connor, they’re currently just vibing doing their own thing in a new town called Boomerville.
The Elytra Challenge should be happening soon? Maybe? Whoever gets the elytra will have a huge bargaining chip on the server, an item as valuable as the discs or Spirit’s leather. What that also means is, there’s the possibility of them also having a target on their back...
In Summary:
We really need that beach episode.
