Alright, go-go gadget Circle of Progress!

Sort of a companion piece of the Technology Cleric, the Progress Druid is a little bit inspired by solar punk themes, along with Horizon Zero Dawn and other post-apocalypse sci-fi stuff. I thought it would be fun to have a druid who's whole thing was basically just weaponised recycling.

Also another pet subclass! I know! But I really like pet subclasses is the thing, and nobody can stop me from making them. I am running a game in my own setting with a hobgoblin druid played by my current DM so we're going to rebalance this one on the fly, where necessary.

Not much more to say about this one. I hope you like the themes and powers, I hope you find it interesting. I had a lot of fun working on it.

Been feeling kinda stuck and discouraged about art for some reason- nothing has been enjoyable or easy to draw for a week or so. Maybe burnout from unrelated things? But I’m still trying to do my daily sketches and figure out what is worth refining and working on more. This one felt better today. Maybe because I let myself rest a little yesterday. My druid has "fuckboy" written all over her

#speculation nation #shes a druid but she does Not look it. nor does she act like it really. #druid stuff exists to beef myself up as a front liner (spores druid ftw) #and to act as an excuse like 'whaaaat why r u so suspicious of me im a druid 🥺🥺🥺 i just want what's best for nature 🥺🥺🥺' #meanwhile here i am hogging ALL the worms we manage to find (or. well. most of them.) #bc im going full ham into my powers lol theyre so useful #this is a game of pressing Every button and seeing what happens. yet still going along the lines of good? approximately? #it very much does feel like the kind of thing a druid drow would do. willing to consort with the darkness #but still ultimately striving for peace and order. #i am just perhaps a little bug-brained to accomplish this :3 #ive been playing a Lot of bg3. progressing well through act 2. everything is so very scary and i am just 1 druid 🥺 #(i say as if i havent killed literally every single enemy ive come across. im so fucking good at this game.) #the house of healing was by far my least favorite part (so far). that boss battle was TERRIBLE but i managed to get through it. #according to my friends they just talked their way out of it. not me tho. i saw that guy strapped to the table and i was just like #'GET FUCKED BRO' *casts moonbeam* *proceeds to get the shit stabbed outta me* #holy shit he did so much damage. and he was focused ONLY ON ME....... #took me and shadowheart both healing to keep up with the damage he was doing (while astarion and karlach did most of the attacking) #but i did it! hes gone! but holy shit poking around his stuff has been so. eugh. #im in the towers now. so scary. just barely started them tho. gonna look for the prisoners and then proceed from there. #that ketheric dude is fucking terrifying. so big scared about him. but All Men Die The Same 😈 #.....well maybe not exactly the same given his 'immortality' thing 😂 but i'll figure it out. #anyways yea check out taltana im going for a mixed feminine and masculine kinda vibes with her. and enjoying it very much. #bg3 spoilers/

ive got so many thoughts about origin character playthroughs in bg3 as i go into act 3 of my wyll origin run, and while a majority of them are "wyll and lae'zel co protagonists of the game by a large margin" there's also some moments where im like "ooh id have done that differently if i were writing the game"

#ive tried to do an astarion origin playthrough but honestly i found it hard to progress the plot as him? #because we're supposed to be playing AS the origin character and i just don't think astarion would make the specific decisions needed #to progress the plot in the beginning of the game #like my read on him is more that he'd be trying to figure out the tadpole but also how to get as far away from cazador as possible #and that would require not getting involved in tiefling and druid conflicts #or offering to chase down a grand duke #which is great for his growth as a character through the narrative as he regains more agency and finds that spark of empathy that #cazador tried to beat out of him #but overall it makes him... idk #it makes him work better in the narrative of the game as it stands now as a supporting role/love interest #and this isn't me saying astarion couldn't be a protagonist in a specific version of this story but it isn't necessarily this version #whereas characters like wyll and lae'zel have such strong motivations to drive the plot forward because of their connections #to the larger story of the game itself #anyways i love astarion so much but his story is both the most well written and the least protagonist-y of them

Anyone else have beef with random historical figures for no good reason. Had to make a presentation about Augustine of Hippo once for a shitty college class but I hated the book we were learning from (see tags) so I associated the two together and now everytime I see his name I furrow my eyebrows and say "Augustine..." like he's my nemesis

#see tags: i hated the book because it wasnt actually a history it was like. a motivational book? but by an author that clearly assumed #that the reader would both 1) be christian and 2) trying to stand out and be an exceptional leader individual #i and my friends were neither of these things tbh and we drew the line at when the author started talking about 'pagans' as a single group #and like. im talking about like. the author seemed to think all pagans were fantasy druids? and was UNCITED just talking about like #'pagans had no sense of time as a progression and only thought of time as cyclical' was the main thesis. which. what??? #it didn't matter what kind of pagan either as long as it fit the authors intention. im talking greek. celtic. native american. and more! #sometimes the author didnt even specify! he just would start talking about pagans like they all were homogenous and shared all beliefs #and because i had to present on THIS GUYS conception of Augustine i kindve just associate that author with augustine now lmao #sorrrrry augustine i know it wasnt you who did this but tbh what little i know about you you probably would've agreed #BY THE WAY #a happy ending! we talked to our professor about our issues with the book and he took it off the list for upcoming years #i wish i could remember the title but oh well #it was literally called like 'expreasing individuality' or some shit #leadership major future politician CEO nothingburger ass book #the whole class was also structured around that nonsense leadership and entrepenuer and ceo grindset type shit #(i took this class cause it was required for a good scholarship i had lmao) #... now that im thinking about it #this was also the class i attended while on the afterglow of LSD. #so uh. yeah. lmao
