Yet another reason to not be a teacher in the state of Idaho...
The House passed a bill 58-11 that prohibits teachers from using transgender or nonbinary students' preferred pronouns or preferred name without parental consent. The bill also prevents retribution for state employees for not using the preferred name and pronouns.
Which clears the way for transphobic teachers to mistreat students. If a cis student wanted to be called by a nickname they would have no problems doing that.
They're using the excuse of preventing teachers from getting bullied for accidentally misgendering students. Accidents happen. Politely correct them and if they care they'll make the change.
Rep Wendy Horman said it was important for parents to be notified if their child wants to be called something other than their legal name and pronouns.
PARENTS: IF YOUR CHILD DIDN'T TELL YOU, THERE'S A REASON YOU DON'T KNOW. I'm not sorry to say this, but you actually aren't entitled to know this information if your child doesn't want you to know.
To all Idaho teachers, if you care about your students, don't inform the parents. Ask your student if their parents know and if the student is comfortable sharing with you, they'll tell you that they don't want their parents finding out. Not every child has a loving and accepting family and telling parents could put them in danger. You may be the only trusted adult they have. Your classroom may be their only safe place. If I was a teacher in the state of Idaho, I'd rather go to jail than out a student to their parents
Lori McCann says she believes in Constitutional Rights but that it goes both ways. Lori, you have a degree in education and based on the things you said in this article, I would hate to have you as a teacher. "A vote for Lori McCann is a vote for Stronger Education..." No, a vote for Lori is a vote to endanger children and make them feel unsafe at schools which will prevent them from getting an education.
Ted Hill who says he'll recognize their genders and pronouns "Just don't shove it down my throat and make me do it" Translation don't make me respect people I don't want to exist. Fine. Whatever Ted, but then I better not see you trying to get religion into schools or passing bills because it doesn't follow the Bible's teachings. Please don't shove that in my face and make me do it. Also I found your website. In big bold letters you have "I've seen firsthand the consequences of those unable to protect themselves. It will be my duty to defend and protect your 2nd amendment rights"
I get that that statement was about guns, but the first sentence says "those unable to protect themselves". Those kids you're trying to forcibly get outed to their parents can't defend themselves if their parents don't accept them. These students' that all of you are hurting with these bills will one day be old enough to vote and if you think they'll vote for you, you are about to be disappointed.
We are living in a terrifying world and it keeps getting worse and worse. Please protect your kids and students from these people, in Idaho and the rest of the country.

Imagine if MIT or Cambridge University or Science-Po or Harvard were surrounded by the police and the students brutalized and shot at. Would the western media stay silent??? Would the world stay silent? Would university students and professors in the west stay silent or would they stage protests and strikes???
What else needs to happen until the world wakes up. They are killing Iranian students in front of our eyes.

If we are regressing back to when people’s rights are not something the government cares about, will the so called “inclusive future” be what the world was before “woke.” When people weren’t aware of how present racism is, on how often women get assaulted, and how poorly native people are treated.
Are we just going back in time to fall back to the world built on ignorance?
Are we going to a world of genocide of trans people?
Are we living in a world of the norm of young children being shot in their classrooms before they even know what a variable is?
We shouldn’t have to fight for the lives we were promised when the Declaration of Independence was written. Yet here we are, living is a pre-apocalyptic world filled with a government of monsters. Save American youth, please.

This entire thread is horrifying. I was so lucky that my ochem professor let me take the final the next day after I missed it (and in that case it was my own fault, read the time wrong and thought it was later than it actually was)

Idaho Representative Ted Hill who voted for a bill that requires teachers to use the legal name of trans and nonbinary students doesn't even go by his legal name. His name is Edward and he PREFERS to go by Ted. If you're gonna force students to be called their legal name, then you should be using Edward and not Ted.

Thinking about Card-dealer Trey in the Nightfall Au….
Mafia operative Trey, who’s always a familiar face in the Heartsabyul Casino. Always dressed in his best, a vest stretched over his torso, showing a well-muscled chest. A dark green clover pin resting right above his heart, trembling with every breath.
Trey Clover, whose sleeves are always rolled up. Just stopping right after the elbow, revealing toned forearm, lined with some faint scars. Remains of stitching, old wounds from his days as a more active member of the Heartsabyul group.
Now? He takes care of the headquarters, and of the Rose-Red Tyrant himself. You could consider him a… guard dog, of sorts. Oh, don’t get him wrong. Trey isn’t left here to quietly whittle away his time… before you could even blink, the ice-cold muzzle of a gun is jutted into your side.
Glancing up, you could see Trey’s eyes narrow ever so slightly behind his glasses, lips slipping into a crooked smirk. A spark of sadistic amusement flaring to life in those emerald eyes of his.
He isn’t just some old retiree left behind to rot, darling.
So do take care not to underestimate him, hm?
The gun is soon tucked away as quick as it was drawn, the ghost of the smirk still flickering across his lips. Gently slipping his hand through your arm, Trey tugs you forward. Since you’ve come all this way, why not have a game or two with the regulars?
The Heartsabyul headquarters also doubles as a grand Casino. Draped in scarlet and gold, the empire of cards, backed with elaborate designs. Yet everything in the place was centred around one subject.
Roses, dripping with the dark crimson of freshly spilled blood.
His thumb rubs soft, gentle circles into your arm. A gesture meant to reassure, perhaps. Yet all you could feel were the callouses on that finger, scrapping against your skin. You could only feel the weight of his arm, and how easily he could crush you, if Trey chose so.
He’s a gentle, familiar smiling face at the poker tables of the Casino. However, you shudder to think about what goes on, behind that placid smile.
Trey guides you through the room, his very footsteps muffled by a fine red carpet. Everywhere you looked, you see people hunched over slot machines, throwing cards down on velveted tables. Poor souls, throwing everything they owed just for another chance at the game. A weight presses itself into your shoulders. Trey’s arm, as he gently escorts you through the crowds.
Intimidated? Don’t worry too much. Desperation is a powerful force, but Trey would never allow you to go too far. As much as despair would be interesting to see on your face, Trey’s much too fond of you to ever see you lose.
You can trust him, at least on the poker table.
Trey is very much a skilled card dealer, after all.
You’ll never have a losing hand, if he’s the one dealing the cards.

There's something to be said about THE AFO being successfully snuck up on and taking hits from background characters because he couldn't sense them. Like being "weak" actually somewhat gives them an advantage here

What do you mean by twins?
Star and Stephanie are twins. They were raised quite normally, until their father was revealed on the news to be a villain and not just a normal prisoner. Although their mother was aware of it, the rest of the city was not, and suddenly her daughters were in danger.
The families of those Cluemaster had attacked became enraged and sought revenge on those closest to him: his family. Unfortunately, their mother could not take care of both of them and when the press revealed the identity of one of the twins, she made a risky decision.
She asked her brother to take care of Star, to hide her, and she stayed with Stephanie. They were both too young to remember, and over the years they lost touch. The twins' mother did not want to risk her brother who was now living in Amity Park. So she didn't call frequently.
On one occasion where a football match between Amity and Gotham was held, Star participated as a cheerleader. Not noticing Stephanie's frightened look from the stands. Had someone cloned her? Why?
The bat family got paranoid and tried to initiate contact with "the clone" to get a sample, but the Amity Parkers were too cautious. And the bats swore they felt eyes on the back of their necks every time they tried to get close.
Of course, the Amity Parkers wouldn't let them get close, which made the vigilantes even more frustrated. The worst part is that it was all a misunderstanding, but that didn't stop the battle between the two sides.
