Dear Bloomfield Hills Schools Officials,
On October 25, for 40 minutes, a group of your students stood outside the main entrance of Bloomfield Hills High School and chanted “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,” and other genocidal death threats towards Jews within a school district that is home to the largest Jewish population in Michigan.
The school was warned by the community that this walkout was about to take place as one slice of a global, organized walkout that was occurring in every city and on every campus. These walkouts and demonstrations are conducted with the intent not solve the plight of the Palestinians, but to incite more acts of hate and violence against diaspora Jews at the bidding of Hamas. Since that day, the FBI chief has testified that antisemitism has risen to unprecedented levels in the United States.
I hope that’s specific enough for you.
But in true school administrative fashion, the high school principal in recent days released an email vaguely describing the “challenging week” the community has experienced and welcomes phone calls and meetings with individuals. While these phone calls and meetings are going on, the principal wants families to “encourage our students to only participate in school action or activities that are inclusive of the entire school community.”
That’s very nice.
But has this school district learned anything since March?
Let’s refresh your memory.
Last March, a known supporter and probable connection with Hamas terrorism disguised as a human rights lawyer was invited to speak and without permission or proper vetting by any school official, spewed anti-Israel propaganda at a school-wide diversity assembly.

"Dozens of law students at Dalhousie University walked out of class on Thursday in an act of solidarity with peers who have voiced experiences of ongoing racist comments from a classmate.
“It’s our duty as the future lawmakers of our society to step out and speak out,” said first-year Schulich Law student Lorenze Cromwell.
After a nearly two-hour discussion between students and law faculty members, Cromwell addressed the crowd of future lawyers.
“We need to hold our heads high and be proud of the fact that we aren’t going to take this sitting down today,” Cromwell said. “We’re not going to take this sitting down tomorrow, the week after that. But this is the ongoing battle against systemic injustice.”
Dalhousie Indigenous Law Student Association member Danielle Hargreaves says she and her colleagues have been dealing with microaggressions since starting the law program in September.
“The students are standing in solidarity, the faculty is standing in solidarity, now the school itself needs to stand with us as well and make real, lasting change,” said Hargreaves.
While discrimination is mentioned in the Dalhousie code of student conduct, Hargreaves calls the university’s lack of swift response to the comments “disturbing.”
“Frankly, (the code of conduct) needs to be updated to reflect the values of the Weldon tradition, and Dalhousie as a whole. That racism will not stand,” Hargreaves said. “It will not stand in the legal profession, it will not stand in the law school, and it will not stand in the university.”"

American trans people. We. Need. To. Fight. Back. No more peaceful protest. No more walk outs. No more marches. No more sitting back and hoping someone else is going to step up. We need to riot. We need to be loud! We need to be hear and seen! We Cannot be silenced anymore. We need to do something and obviously nothing else is working!
All you Cis people within the LGBTQ+ community who are against trans people, Shut the FUCK up about the "LGB WITHOUT THE T" bullshit. Their going to go after you next, which they already are. We're all fucked!
All you people who don't think this isn't happening. It is. Over 400 bills targeting trans people in America. Half which are not even on the news. In MONTANA they silenced a democratic representative, zooey zephyr (who a trans woman by the way) because she called the republican party out and they didn't like that.
We're all in this together and if we don't do something now, we're going to fucking die and we already are!
For the love of whatever you believe in or not believe in, we need to do something! They cannot win!
We have the right to over rule the government! It's in our constitution! If Trump supports can, why can't we?
Religion cannot interfere with government and their doing exactly that!

For anyone interested here’s a story about a pride walk-out I attended in front of a high school in my area, due to the pride flags being taken down from said high school due to one parent complaint.
There were over 100 kids and alumni out with pride stuff and shouting “you are loved” to anyone who drove by and flipped the bird or did a thumbs down or shouted their disapproval. (Most people driving by honked and showed their love by attaching pride flags to their cars or just making hearts with their hands.)
There were 4 people across from us holding an American flag and trump 2024 flag and quoting bible verses. They ended up giving up and shaking our hands out of respect since we didn’t lash back and showed love and kindness instead.
Point here is, the main goal of the protest that was organized was to show everyone is loved and should feel represented, even if you don’t agree with another person’s opinion, identity, or life style. I sat for 20 minutes talking to this kid who was trying to explain how the Bible teaches homosexuality is a “sin” and trying to get us to believe some higher authority was damning us or whatever.
But I listend to him. I listened because if I can be heard, so can he. No, I don’t agree with him, and neither do most people, but at least he had a chance to talk and express his opinion without being cut off or cussed out. He did the same to me, listened to what I had to say, didn’t interrupt, didn’t get violent. And hopefully that exchange will show him, and everyone else, that our goal as a community is to spread love and respect and understanding.
You can’t just change someone’s opinion on something they are so dead set on. You can’t just convince them. The only thing you can do is listen and let them use their freedom of opinion and expression as you do.
