[Edit] Hi guys! It came to my attention that the previous post was not following ethical research guidelines, so I am fixing that. I wanted to keep it short so that people would actually read the post but that meant I bypassed the ethics – yay me for not seeing that. A big thanks to the person who let me know! I apologize to everyone and the people who have already answered the previous version of the have been contacted, but yeah essentially if you’ve answered under the previous, I still need to obtain your informed consent and you do need to know that you can withdraw from the study at any time simply by contacting me. You will remain anonymous and confidential (the post will be taken down on the 15th of July latest and your usernames will not be registered nor published in the research). None of this data can be used for marketing or financial gain, and yeah I can’t use the data to harm you either so :/

Essentially, the research you would be agreeing to participate in by commenting under this post is about the „Collective memory“ of punk. It’s a social science concept that deals with what groups of people remember, how they remember certain events over others, and why. It’s studied because collective memory is political, and it affects the identity of the group (It’s actually a fascinating concept imo but anyways if you want to learn more I can redirect u we’re not here for that). The whole point of asking you the following questions about punk is to find out whether the Czech punk scene has the same collective memory (I’ll compare your answers with theirs locally, anyways that’s because the Eastern block’s punk evolved under communism so I expect it to be a lil different – the question is how?). It would really help if you could consider sharing this post, reacting to each others‘ comments is encouraged too! Do have fun with it, write me an essay if you’d like lol I’m desperate for answers. And if you’re a punk yourself, let us know too, as it’s possible that people who aren’t in the subculture may remember different things differently. But answers from everyone who knows at least a little about it is really welcome:)

Anyways, here are the questions that shall guide you:D

- What are the most iconic or important elements (events/people/phrases,...) for the punk movement? (Pictures/links would be appreciated!) and what do they represent? Why would you say that they are so iconic? 

- Are there contexts in which these elements/images are exploited? (even outside of punk?)
