A list of underrated Christmas movies for everyone who is getting tired of watching the same things every year:
This year, I wanted to make a list of a few Christmas movies that I feel are a bit underrated and under-appreciated, because I’m tired of seeing the same things all the time. If anyone has any suggestions for their own lesser known holiday movies, please feel free to include them!
Arthur Christmas: An animated movie that should be a classic, but it was unfortunately lost to time because it had a horrible marketing campaign that made it look like complete shit. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s not complete shit. It’s actually fucking amazing.
Arthur, the clumsy son of the current Santa Claus is known for being a lovable idiot who tends to ruin everything he touches, but when a little girl’s present is accidentally left behind one Christmas, Arthur, an elf named Bryony, and his grandfather (a previous Santa…so grandsanta) embark on a chaotic mission around the world to deliver the missing present. Every character in this movie is so fucking funny and empathetic at the same time. Arthur embodies the true meaning of Christmas in everything he does. Bryony is just…on another level entirely. Arthur’s brother Steve (a strategic genius who wants to use his new technology to ensure his place as the next Santa) is a perfect antagonist that the audience still feels sympathy for. They all just have such a fun dynamic, and it’s a crime that more people haven’t seen this.
Tumblr media
Spirited: A fairly new addition to the Christmas movie ranks, since it came out in 2022 (but it was on AppleTV+ so no one watched it). Spirited is a modern, musical version of A Christmas Carol like you’ve never seen before (starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds, who are an amazing combination in anything). If you’re tired of seeing endless retellings of Dickens' story, just watch this. It’s hilarious, heartfelt, and it brings a whole new perspective to the story in a way that I’m not going to spoil. And the songs go so hard it’s insane.
Tumblr media
Happiest Season: A rom-com in which a woman named Abby desperately wants to propose to her girlfriend Harper over the holidays during Harper’s family Christmas party…only to realize that Harper’s extremely rich and conservative family doesn’t know she’s gay. Fun rom-com shenanigans ensue. Did I mention Abby is played by Kristen Stewart, and Harper is played by Mackenzie Davis? Also Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, and that guy from Schitt’s Creek everyone loves are in it.
This could easily have been a completely different movie if the cast wasn't so funny and didn’t have such good chemistry. It starts out as a standard holiday rom-com, but I was tearing up by the end of this the first time I watched it. If you’ve ever felt like you’ve been hiding your true self from your family or if you’ve felt like you’ve never been good enough for them, I think you’ll see a lot to relate to in this.
Tumblr media
Violent Night: Another new addition to the ever-expanding list of Christmas movies, this aptly named action thriller also came out in 2022, and I feel like no one has spoken about it since, which is a crime because IT WAS SO MUCH FUCKING FUN!
When a grizzled, down on the world Santa (played by David Harbour) gets stuck in a rich family’s house while it’s being overrun by mercenaries, he has to Die Hard his way out and save the hostages (or at least the ones who are worth saving) before it’s too late. This was such a fun surprise, because violent action thrillers are so hit and miss for me personally. David Harbour is great. It’s just under 2 hours of watching shitty people get their comeuppance in unique ways. I’m so offended that it only has a 6.7/10 on IMDB, because this is a great movie to watch with a group of friends and some age appropriate beverages. Yeah, it’s not a masterpiece, and maybe my standards are low, but I had a great time with this.
Tumblr media
Tokyo Godfathers: An anime Christmas classic directed by Satoshi Kon in which 3 homeless people (a former drag queen, a runaway teen, and a grumpy alcoholic) find a baby in a dumpster and try to reunite it with its family. This was the movie that tricked me into thinking Satoshi Kon’s other works would be just as comedic and wholesome as this one. It’s got humor. It’s got heart. It’s got twists and turns that will keep you guessing in the classic Satoshi Kon fashion. And the English dub is just as good as the sub, so you can’t go wrong either way.
Tumblr media
Neo Yokio- Pink Christmas: Speaking of anime…I’ve talked about this one before, but I have to mention it again because it’s a staple for me every year. Pink Christmas is the Christmas special for the…anime (and I use that word in the loosest way possible) Neo Yokio…aka the one starring (and possibly made by?) Jaden Smith.
For anyone who’s never heard of it, Neo Yokio is a series on Netflix that is the closest thing to a professionally made Abridged Series we’ll ever have. The “plot” of the series revolves around Kaz, a pink haired guy who fights demons and does increasingly absurd rich people things with his robot mecha butler named Charles. The Christmas special involves Charles telling Kaz a Christmas story about the city’s Secret Santa competition for all the ultra rich people.
Look, there’s no good way to describe this one, but trust me when I say you don’t have to watch Neo Yokio to understand it, since even people who do watch Neo Yokio don’t understand it. In fact, I think it will be even funnier if you don’t watch Neo Yokio at all before watching Pink Christmas (but I encourage everyone to watch the series too, just because it’s more of the same insanity.)
Every line in it is pure comedic gold, not because it’s truly funny, but because it’s absurd and ridiculous in a way only Jaden Smith can be. I quote it incessantly while eating a Toblerone every year.
Tumblr media
Cabin Pressure at Christmas: Molokai: Okay, it’s not a movie or even a TV special, but I love Cabin Pressure so much that I had to include this too. Cabin Pressure is a comedy radio show (not a podcast, an actual radio show) that aired on BBC Radio 4 in the early 2000s about an airline crew for the world’s shittiest airplane.
For anyone who watched season 2 of Good Omens, you might recognize the name John Finnemore as one of the writers. Well, Cabin Pressure is made by (and stars) the same person. The Christmas episode is one of my favorites of the series, and you 100% don’t need to listen to the entire series to enjoy it. It captures the humor and despair of being stuck with your co-workers on Christmas eve, but it keeps up the spirit regardless. This is another one I quote incessantly, and the whole show has become hardwired into my personality. PLEASE FIND A WAY TO LISTEN TO CABIN PRESSURE! I’m pretty sure the whole series is available on iTunes as an audiobook.
Tumblr media
As honorable mentions, I want to include Rise of the Guardians and Klaus, because even though they have a fair amount of popularity, I still feel like people could appreciate them more. And sure, Rise of the Guardians might be more of an Easter movie, but it still includes Santa as a character, and he’s amazing.
That's all for now. Sorry these are all specifically Christmas themed, but if anyone has movie suggestions for other winter holidays, please throw them in!

Me or the Ring
Requested by @diavolosbaby! Thanks for the amazing idea and my first Hal req!!
Pairing: Hal Jordan x fem!reader
Summary: When the Guardians suspect you, a woman from earth, of working with the Star Sapphires to commit mass murder, Hal Jordan volunteers to find evidence. He accidentally falls for you in the process, but you find out why he let you get so close and pull away.
Warnings: some fluff, and then a bunch of angst! Ignore the fact that Hal, Kyle, and Guy are Green Lanterns at the same time in this, I needed more drama
Word Count: 3.5k+ words
A/N: This is my first attempt writing for Hal, so I apologize if he's OOC! I don't specify which Hal this is about, but I imagined Ryan Reynolds' and GLTAS characterizations while creating this! I hope you enjoy and please feel free to let me know what you think!!💚

“Ow!” Hal yells, looking over at Kilowog as he holds his side. Lowering his voice, he asks, “What is your problem, man?”
Kilowog points toward the Guardians, and Hal reluctantly begins paying attention to the meeting. The Guardians of the Universe are known for many things, but brevity is not one of them.
“… in Sector 2814. The woman is believed to be working with the Star Sapphires, responsible for the deaths of several Lanterns, and Green Lantern Hal Jordan’s kind alike,” Sayd announces.
“We’re called men, humans, homo sapiens. We’ll even answer to ‘bro’ if you catch us at the right time,” Hal replies.
“Green Lantern Jordan, if you’d allow us to finish,” Ganthet grumbles. “We have allowed the Star Sapphires to remain peacefully, provided they did not return to their old ways. Based on the evidence we have, that is no longer the case. The Guardians and I have elected to send someone to Earth in Sector 2814 to investigate the woman, get to know her, and gather any proof you can find. The Intergalactic Court, operating under Tribune of the High Court of Rimbor, needs proof or this woman and the Star Sapphires will be allowed to continue their murderous tirade across the sectors.”
“Did he take a breath or was that all in one go?” Hal mutters.
“This is the target,” Sayd calls.
A holographic picture appears behind him, your face smiling over the Green Lantern Corps.
“Uh, Ganthet!” Hal calls. “Since it’s my sector, and I am, well, my kind. Wouldn’t it make the most sense for me to go home and get to know this beautiful woman?”
“We no longer trust you when the Star Sapphires are involved,” Sayd answers. “I’m sure you recall the incident with Carol Ferris?”
“That was one time! C’mon, guys, I’m quite literally the only man for the job. I can get to know her, and if there’s anything to find, I’ll find it.”
“You could say that again,” Kilowog adds with a chuckle.
“Not like that,” Hal replies, sending a pleading look to Kilowog. “This won’t be like last time. If she’s working with the Sapphires to murder my kind, I want to know, too. Whoever this is needs to pay for their crimes.”
Ganthet and Sayd turn toward the other Guardians, arguing quietly as the rest of the Green Lantern Corp watches. Hal looks around, but he can’t find another Lantern who has any chance of blending in on Earth. Even with the willpower of the rings, creating a disguise for extended amounts of time is unreliable and dangerous.
Ganthet sighs as he turns around. “Hal Jordan, Green Lantern of Sector 2814, the Guardians have chosen you to complete this mission.”
Hal pumps a fist in victory, lowering it quickly when Sayd adds, “At the first sign of error, or your usual activities, we will pull you from your own sector and send another Lantern to gather the information we require.”
“Usual activities? I’m afraid I don’t know what you mean,” Hal answers, an easy, innocent smile on his face.
“You do. May I be the first to remind you that your duty is to the ring, to Oa, and to the people you protect.”
“Aye, aye, Captain. Now, if you don’t mind, I’ve got a date- mission! A mission to prepare for.”
Hal flies over the crowd of Lanterns, leaving Oa behind.
“Good luck, kid,” Kilowog whispers after him. “Don’t make anybody regret it… poozer.”
✯✯✯✯✯
Hal has been following you around town for two days. Just as he begins feeling too much like a stalker, you finally give him a chance. When you walk into a coffee shop, Hal waits a few minutes before entering after you. He orders the first thing he sees on the menu, grateful for a busy day. There’s an open seat beside you, and he puts on his best Hal Jordan-charm as he approaches you.
“Hi. Sorry to interrupt, but d’ya mind if I sit here?” Hal asks, pointing to the seat across from you.
You lean to the side, noticing most of the seats are taken. Nodding, you return your attention to the newspaper sitting before you.
“Any idea who leaked the information about this one? It’s impossible to find a quiet coffee shop here and it seems we’ve lost another one,” Hal adds.
Furrowing your brows, you glance over the top of the paper. “Well, it’s a city of caffeine addicts and people who don’t want to stay home alone.”
“Do you fit into that demographic?”
“I’ll answer your question if you answer one of mine,” you offer, laying the paper on the table and smoothing your hand over the cover.
“Shoot,” Hal answers, smiling.
“Do you flirt with every girl you run into in coffee shops? I only ask because you seem to be a bit of an expert.”
“On coffee shops or flirting with pretty girls?”
You roll your eyes, smiling as you lean back in your seat. “The latter.”
“Okay,” Hal relents, chuckling. “I only flirt with the really, very pretty ones.”
“Lots of those in Coast City.”
“Not as many as you’d think.” Hal takes a drink of his overpriced coffee before noticing the disinterested look on your face. “I didn’t mean it like that. Not that there aren’t beautiful women here, just that you’re one of the prettiest, and I- I should probably just stop talking now.”
“Might be wise.” Your smile returns as you muse, “You’re still no Bruce Wayne.”
Hal’s brows furrow at the mention of Bruce, and you tap your finger on the copy of Gotham Gazette. He reads the headline about Bruce appearing with an unknown woman, the seventh date in as many weeks, and rolls his eyes.
“Can’t believe people think that guy is Batman.”
“You seem like a Batman fan,” you reply, tilting your head to the side. “No, wait, Wonder Woman, right?”
“Well, she is the definition of girl power, but I’m more of a Flash fan myself.”
“Central City,” you murmur, raising your cup to your lips. “Interesting.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Answer for an answer?” Hal wastes no time nodding, so you ask, “Why are you really flirting with me?”
“Because I want to.”
You purse your lips before shrugging. “It just means I thought you’d be Coast City or bust. Didn’t expect you to make a choice that wasn’t…”
“Misogynistic?” Hal provides.
“Obvious,” you determine.
“Well, I’m full of surprises.”
“And lies,” you accuse.
Hal’s chin drops, his eyes wide as he asks, “What?”
Fiddling with his ring under the table, he begins to fear the worst. If he can’t get to know you, find what he hopes is a complete absence of proof, and take the information back to Oa, they’ll send a Lantern trained in getting answers rather than creating relationships.
“There’s an empty table right behind you. I’ve known since you asked to sit that you had an ulterior motive.”
Hal sighs, and you stand.
“I’d recommend the story on page four,” you whisper, picking up your cup and walking past Hal.
He turns to watch you exit, and when you wink at him, he pulls the paper toward him quickly, nearly ripping it in half as he opens to page four. Your name and number are scribbled at the bottom, and Hal sits back in relief.
He almost misses the story about Green Lantern on the next page and murmurs, “I’m in trouble.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Hal?” you ask.
“Hey,” he answers, sitting across from you. “You didn’t answer my text.”
“You didn’t send me a text,” you reply, pulling your phone from your pocket. There is an unread text received less than two minutes ago. “'Did you get prettier?'” you read.
“No, but I think you did.”
Hal’s smile is contagious, and as you try to hide yours from him, you wonder how he did it, how he's consumed your every thought. He’s been on your mind nonstop since your first meeting, and even when he’s sitting in front of you, you want more.
“That’s all I get?” you ask. “More flirting, no invitation to dinner or private jet flight?”
“Private jet?”
You point to the plane pin on Hal’s leather jacket, and he nods to himself.
“I was a pilot in the Air Force, then I started doing test flights,” he explains.
“Didn’t answer my question, though, flyboy.”
“Flyboy?” Hal repeats, unable to decide if he’s amused or offended.
“No answers ‘til I get one.”
“Would you like to go to dinner with me?”
“Nope,” you answer quickly. “And you’re a boy who flies, so… flyboy.”
Hal looks at you, and you sigh.
“I don’t know you, Hal. Sure, you can flirt, but that’s not a reason to go out with you.”
“Then go with me as new acquaintances. If you meet me, not the me that flirts in coffee shops, and want to go on a date with me, then that’s great. If not, I’ll leave you alone.”
You lean over the table to ask, “Are you going to make it worth it?”
Hal copies your position, nearly bumping his nose into yours as he answers, “More than worth it. Because you are.”
“You’re the cheesiest man I’ve ever met, flyboy.”
“You don’t know the half of it.”
✯✯✯✯✯
When you enter the restaurant, Hal forgets why he’s back in his hometown. You smile as you join him, and for once in his life, Hal Jordan is speechless.
Kilowog will never believe me about this, he thinks.
“You alright, flyboy?” you ask kindly. “Is the outfit too much? Because I couldn’t-“
“No, no,” he blurts out. “You look amazing, beautiful, all the good words.”
Biting your bottom lip, you nod your thanks before lifting the menu. With each moment spent with Hal, the actual Hal, you fall a little more for him. Sure, you thought he was attractive and kind when he approached you in the coffee shop, but this side of him is different. He tells you about his past as a pilot and his hobbies but asks about you, too, hanging onto your every word.
After dinner and dessert have been cleared from your table, someone tells you that the restaurant is closing, and you need to leave. Hal chuckles, apologizing to the waiter as he stands, offering his hand to you, clutching it as you exit.
Once you’re outside, you shiver against the night air, and Hal removes his jacket.
“Hal, no,” you begin, quieting when he drapes it over your shoulders.
“Hal, yes,” he replies as he takes your hand again. “Thank you for giving me a chance.”
“I- I don’t want it to be over,” you admit quietly.
“It doesn’t have to.”
You stop, pulling Hal with you as you look at him, feeling like you are the only people in the world. His free hand raises to your shoulder, his fingers wrapping around the back of your neck as his thumb brushes behind your ear.
“One more chance?” he murmurs.
“Take as many as you want, flyboy.”
Hal smiles, stepping to you as he closes the distance, pressing his lips to yours. Your skin surges with emotions and what can only be described as sparks, shivering for a whole new reason as Hal releases your hand, sliding his arm between your back and his jacket to pull you closer. You raise your hands to his sides, sliding them around his back to rest between his shoulder blades. Something buzzes, and Hal pulls back quickly.
“I’m so sorry, it’s a work thing,” he apologizes, rubbing his thumb under your bottom lip to fix your lip gloss. “I will call you tomorrow. Take you up on those other chances?”
“You better, flyboy.”
“Text me when you get home, okay?”
You nod, watching Hal jog down the sidewalk. You turn away, tugging his jacket closer to your chest and smiling. He left it, giving him a reason to call again. Despite your initial thoughts about Hal Jordan, you’re falling for the flyboy, Flash fan, world-class flirter, and his softer side.
✯✯✯✯✯
“What?” Hal asks, raising his hand to expose the hologram playing from his ring.
“Have you made any progress with the suspect?” Ganthet asks.
Hal bristles at the term ‘suspect,’ but hides it as he replies, “Yes. I’ve gotten close but there’s no evidence so far. I will keep you updated, Ganthet. Got that? I will keep you updated, not the other way around, or you will blow my cover!”
“Touchy,” Ganthet mumbles as he ends the call.
Sirens echo in the distance, and Hal sighs as his Green Lantern suit forms around him. He wants to find you and feel you rather than sheer willpower, but he has a mission, a job to complete.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Hello?” you greet tiredly.
“Now, don’t get too excited,” Hal chides playfully. “What’s going on, pretty girl?”
Glad he can’t see your smile, you reply, “I thought you moved on, flyboy.”
“Sorry; work got crazy, but I couldn’t forget about you if I had amnesia.”
“That’s literally the definition of amnesia, Hal.”
“Stop giving me dictionary lessons and get dressed.”
“For what?”
“Care to go for a private flight?”
“That better not be a double entendre,” you answer, standing to get dressed.
“It’s not,” Hal answers with a loud laugh. “Just get dressed and come outside.”
“Are you here?”
“Babe, listen carefully: get dressed and come outside.”
“Fine, fine. Someone’s bossy today,” you say as you end the call.
Five minutes later, you walk onto the sidewalk and are pulled into a hug.
“I thought I told you to stop getting prettier,” Hal says against your shoulder.
You shrug, returning his hug before settling against his side as he leads you to his car. The drive to Ferris Air is filled with easy conversation as Hal becomes more convinced that you are not the killer the Guardians think you are. Unfortunately, he has no evidence to prove that you did or did not. If you’re working with the Star Sapphires, they’d cover for you, but Hal can't see you doing anything with people like them.
“Alright, let’s go,” Hal says, opening your door and offering his hand.
He leads you into a building and up several flights of stairs before entering an office.
“Are we breaking and entering?” you whisper as he opens the door to a balcony.
“Not strictly speaking,” he answers.
Once you’re on the balcony, the view takes your breath away. There’s nothing in sight, just the beauty of Coast City. Hal moves behind you, letting you lean against his chest as his arms circle your waist.
“Thanks, flyboy,” you say, turning toward him.
“It’s almost as pretty as you,” he flirts.
Hal moves one hand away from you as his ring buzzes.
“Enjoy the view for a minute, I’ll be right back.”
As you nod, Hal kisses your neck before walking inside. A streak of green light moves across the sky, and you shake your head.
“Flash is better,” you murmur, leaning against the rail to watch the sunset.
✯✯✯✯✯
When Hal hasn’t returned in nearly ten minutes, you wander inside, looking around the office. You hear Hal’s voice, a harsh whisper, and tiptoe toward the door. Cracking it open, you see Coast City’s Green Lantern whisper-yelling at his hand.
“She didn’t do it!” he insists.
“Hal?” you ask, stepping into the hallway, your hand gripping the doorknob tightly.
As he turns toward you, his green mask disappears, and you see a small, round creature above his ring briefly, but it is gone before you can get a better look.
“You’re the Green Lantern?” you ask, stepping back to keep room between yourself and Hal.
His suit disappears, wearing his clothes from earlier again as he raises his hands, an apologetic look on his face.
Another creature appears on Hal’s ring (green ring, you notice). It says, “If you are unable to find any evidence, regardless of your position on the case, then we will send someone else who will do their job rather than court a suspect of an intergalactic murder spree!”
Pressing your lips together, you wait for Hal to speak.
“I can explain,” he begins.
He doesn’t continue, so you ask, “That is why you started dating me? Because you think I’m guilty of an ‘intergalactic’ crime?”
“No,” he answers firmly. “That’s why I approached you the first time, but my intentions were never-“
“No, Hal, you made your intentions perfectly clear,” you interrupt, ignoring the tear rolling over your cheek. “I’m glad that ring means so much to you because it is the only thing you will ever manage to keep close.”
“Please, just let me tell you why I did it,” Hal begs.
“Let me guess,” you snap. “It’s your job or your duty, and you never believed that I was capable of it, but you had to be sure. I don’t know what is going on or who you really are, but I’m done, Hal. Stay away from me.”
You storm out of the building, beginning the long walk back home. Wrapping your arms around yourself, memories of the last few weeks play in your mind. The questions that seemed like Hal was trying to get to know you were a ploy to get information, and finding you wasn’t serendipitous; it was an assignment from space creatures.
Hal lands before you, once again dressed as the Green Lantern. “Don’t do this, please. I get that you’re mad, but- at least let me take you home.”
“I think you’ve done more than enough, Green Lantern.”
“Please,” Hal whispers.
“Did you even consider how this would affect me? Or were you just too busy doing your job to think about anyone other than yourself?”
“That’s not fair.”
“You used me, Hal. Find someone else to increase your arrest record or whatever it is you do.”
You walk around Hal, and he sighs before calling, “You still have my jacket.”
“I’ll leave it at the coffee shop,” you yell. “Wear it the next time you pretend to care about someone for your own gain!”
Hal clenches his jaw, exhaling as he rips his ring off his finger. As he prepares to throw it, he remembers what the Guardians said.
Hal failed, so they’ll send someone else. Following you in the shadows, Hal becomes your protector rather than your friend or your flyboy. He tries to ignore how hard you’re crying as you leave him behind, but he wants nothing more than to wrap you in his arms and tell you everything.
✯✯✯✯✯
“Green Lantern Kilowog, your recruit failed his mission,” Ganthet announces.
“Sorry, kid,” Kilowog mutters to his ring.
“Would you like to pick up where he left off?”
“I don’t think any earthen homo sapien is gonna wanna talk to me.”
“I see. Well then, we have Green Lantern Guy Gardner and Green Lantern Kyle Rayner. The goal of this mission, as I hope you remember, is to find evidence that this woman is working with the Star Sapphires.”
“Ganthet, are you sure this is a good idea?” Kilowog interjects. “Hal said there was no evidence. She’s going to get suspicious.”
“I can distract her, Kilowog,” Kyle promises. “She won’t even know what hit her.”
“Then it’s decided. Green Lantern Kyle Rayner will take the lead on this mission, and Guy Gardner will provide backup as needed,” Ganthet declares.
Kilowog leaves the meeting early, calling Hal and begging him to answer.
“What do you want?” Hal greets.
“They’re sendin’ Rayner and Gardner to get intel on your girl,” Kilowog explains quickly.
“When?”
“Now.”
“Kilowog, this woman is innocent. I’m gonna need some help proving it.”
“I’ll be there, kid,” Kilowog assures. “But for now, you need to keep her safe from them.”
“She doesn’t trust me.”
“What happened?”
Hal gives him a condensed version of the story and Kilowog sighs before saying, “You messed up, poozer.”
“You think I don’t know that?”
“But you can fix it.”
“How? She doesn’t need a hero, Kilowog.”
“Then don’t be a hero, be whatever she needs you to be. That includes being honest, kid.”
“I’ll try. Get here as soon as you can, and don’t tell the Guardians that I’m on earth for her. They think it’s for the wildfires.”
“I’m on your team,” Kilowog reminds Hal before ending the call. “Even if you are a poozer.”
✯✯✯✯✯
Hal and Kilowog are watching from a roof as Kyle Rayner approaches you. You’re more standoffish than you were with Hal, and that’s enough to remind him of what you said the last time you spoke to him. He broke your heart, destroyed your trust, and ensured he’d never have another chance with you, but he’s still here for you.
“He’s trying to get her to talk about her past,” Kilowog says.
Hal only watches you, so Kilowog has taken to keeping an eye on Kyle. Neither Hal nor Kilowog trusts Kyle completely, but now they’re on opposite sides of this case.
“Hal,” Kilowog grunts. “He’s taking her somewhere.”
Kyle has a hand around your arm, and you’re pulling back against him.
“C’mon, you’re my girl,” Hal murmurs. “You know what to do. Don’t trust him.”
Kilowog glances over at Hal, and when Hal’s eyes widen suddenly, he turns quickly. You, Kyle, Hal, and Kilowog are all staring at the sapphire circle opening in the air.
“Hal,” you whisper, pressing a button on your phone a moment before his phone rings.

FIC IDEA!!!!
Tumblr media
it's like that one pic of Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield kissing in 2017 or when Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson kissed in 2011
Eddie is nominated for a Grammy Award for the like album of the year or smth
He takes Steve and ofc they are both pining hard as fuck but both are oblivious.
Eddie wins the award and goes up to the stage and gives his little speech
"I want to thank my friends. All of them helped me get to where I am today."
And the team is watching at home, Dustin is yelling. will and Robin are crying. max, Lucas, and Mike are just sitting there in shock.
Eddie ends his speech with "there is one person I'd like to thank more than anything. He helped me in so many ways that he doesn't know and I hope that this will show him how thankful I am."
Que Eddie running off stage and up to Steve and giving him a fat smooch to the lips. Everyone around them screams and cheers.
While the rest of the team have joined max, Lucas, and Mike. Just sitting there with their mouths open. Robin however is laughing her ass off.
Feel free to use this but please give credit. ♥︎

Just watched Free Guy. As is the case with all Ryan Reynolds vehicles, I thought it was reasonably good. Corny at points. But one thing I found genuinely charming was the level of verisimilitude baked into the plot and premise; the writing and art people were both clearly familiar with both the mechanics of MMOS like Free City and the game industry more broadly.
Taika Waititi’s character- a craven “whiz kid” who uses his power over his subordinates to make an ass of himself playing at being hip, is a Kind Of Guy. The Joe Keery vessel and Millie- Bright Young Developers Eaten By The Machine- are kinds of guys, in Game-Dev. (Hi, ZA/UM!) The kind of off-the-beaten-path player that Guy becomes- and the stark light it throws the actual intended gameplay loop into- is a thing you see constantly in big MMOs where players try to see what the actual affordances of the framework are.  (You saw this a lot with Fallout 76, and the sinking playerbase discovery that it was all violence all the way down.)
The plot point that the stolen content was inadequately dummied out and just left out of bounds for the heroes to discover is something that would look like shitty, overly convenient writing until you remember the ubiquity of lazy dummy-outs and weird legacy code in real life game-dev (and how pointedly lazy the villain who did it was established to be.) The early plot point about the developers going in with cheat-mode enabled to try and root Guy out manually feels like a “NCIS hacking” moment until you remember those old-school MMO stories about developers having to try and go in and manually kill hackers because the only other way to get rid of them would be to scrub the server. EVE online and World Of Warcraft are a mill for stories about emergent systems and dynamics that spiral out of player and developer control. Guy is able to win the end-game fight against Dude because despite being massively overpowered Dude was thrown together in Crunch Time and Guy had years to emerge organically in conversation with the rest of his system.
And-this is crucial- this is the first “video game movie” to successfully bridge what I think of as the “granularity gap” in fictional depictions of video games. The granularity gap is when the in-game worlds are shown with an absurd level of fidelity- avatars having the ability to interact with the environment with the same fluidity and articulation as a human in real life, et al et al. This is done either for the gag (see that one episode of Community Where Abed turns a retro RPG into a factory sim as a bit) or because the writers genuinely don’t have the frame of reference for the limitations on how in-depth a game would be. Either way I’ve watched a bunch of “stuck in a game world” shows where my first reaction is always, “yeah, there’s very little chance a consumer game would have that level of brick-by-brick simulation.”
In Free Guy, this disconnect is elevated to the status of plot point; the universe of the game was mechanistically engineered with Dwarf-fortress levels of commitment to reproducing reality by a pair of neurotic auteurs doing it for the art. The mass-market, run-and-gun cash-grab GTA clone has such unrealistically complicated under-the-hood modelling because a craven goon butchered a system meant for more interesting emergent behaviors in order to make a marketable shooter that doesn’t use even a sliver of what the engine was coded to allow. If you assume a Black-Mirror-style near-future, this falls back within my suspension of disbelief; even if not, it’s thematically within my suspension of disbelief that a “kiss” functionality exists within NPCS but got dummied out on the player-end because it would detract from over-the-top clownshow streamer-bait violence.

INTERVIEWS - ADULT FAME DR
REMINDER! I haven’t shifted yet, so all these is just my imagination 🤍
masterlist - main mastelist
Interviews, a dynamic form of communication, serve as a gateway to understanding individuals, their experiences, and their perspectives. Whether conducted for journalistic purposes, research, or casual conversation, interviews unravel stories, insights, and the diverse tapestry of human narratives. Through questions and answers, interviews facilitate connection, exploration, and the exchange of knowledge, offering a platform to explore the depth and richness of the human experience.
THE TONIGHT SHOW - JIMMY FALLON
Tumblr media
2019
Appearing on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon was an absolute blast. We sat down to discuss my upcoming film, "Knives Out," diving into the intriguing details of the project. The conversation seamlessly flowed from the movie to my recent photoshoot, which evidently left everyone with their mouths agape. Jimmy, true to his playful style, explored various facets of my life, including my marriage with Penn, a topic we hadn't openly discussed before. The atmosphere was light and enjoyable as we delved into a range of topics, spiced up by games that had us both laughing. The entire experience was a perfect blend of fun, genuine conversation, and a touch of Jimmy's signature humor, making it a memorable night on "The Tonight Show."
HOT ONES - SEAN EVANS
Tumblr media
2021
Appearing on "Hot Ones" was an exhilarating experience that blended spice, humor, and insightful conversations. While I might not have aced the wing challenge, the intense flavors added a unique element to the interview. Adorned with plenty of jewelry, devouring wings proved to be a slight challenge, adding an amusing twist to the fiery ordeal. Sean Evans skillfully steered the conversation through my future projects, providing a platform to discuss everything from quarantine experiences to the unexpected hobbies I explored in my free time. The entire encounter was a flavorful journey, where the heat of the wings mirrored the warmth of engaging discussions on "Hot Ones."
WIRED AUTOCOMPLETE INTERVIEW
Tumblr media
2021
The Wired Autocomplete Interview was a solo adventure filled with fun, especially after just wrapping up filming for the new sequel "Top Gun: Maverick." As I navigated through the most searched questions about me on the internet, the queries ranged from the infamous kiss between Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds at the Golden Globes (an event I attended) to unraveling the story behind a song I wrote five years ago. Exploring topics like my transition from medicine school to acting, the interview provided a platform to address lingering curiosities. The experience was not only informative but incredibly enjoyable, and I left with the feeling that I'd gladly dive into it again.
SPILL YOUR GUTS - JAMES CORDEN
Tumblr media
2022
Stepping into the "Spill Your Guts" segment with James Corden alongside Miles Teller was quite the adventure, especially as we discussed our latest film, "Top Gun: Maverick." Rocking a green suit and a white T-shirt, topped off with green nails, I brought a colorful vibe to the interview. Things got personal when they probed about my marriage with Penn, a topic we had kept private since our separation. The questions delved into the reasons behind our divorce, shedding light on a part of my life rarely discussed in the press. To add a twist, there was even a question about revisiting a relationship reminiscent of our (miles and I) teenage years. The segment blended humor, revelation, and a touch of nostalgia, giving viewers a unique peek into the unexpected turns of celebrity interviews.
73 QUESTIONS - VOUGE
Tumblr media
2022
Vogue's 73 Questions interviews not only offer a rapid-fire insight into the lives of celebrities but also grant fans an unprecedented peek into their homes. As I navigated through the questions, my fans got to explore various corners of my house, creating a more intimate connection. The inquiries ranged from my hobbies to a tour of my extensive library, where I shared books I've read, those waiting to be explored, and even recommended some favorites. Responding to the curiosity about my culinary skills, I discussed what I enjoy eating and whether I possess any culinary prowess. To add a musical note, they asked me to play the piano, a personal touch that added an extra layer to the interview. Vogue's 73 Questions not only captures the essence of celebrities' lives but also establishes a direct and engaging connection with the audience.
VANITY FAIR LIE DETECTOR
Tumblr media
2023
Participating in Vanity Fair's Lie Detector interview alongside Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively was an absolute riot, made even more memorable by the fact that I wore an entire pink outfit that drew compliments. The atmosphere was lively and playful throughout, and we had an incredible amount of fun. In a particularly memorable moment, Ryan turned the tables on me, asking about a quirky incident during quarantine when his beloved Canadian maple syrup mysteriously disappeared. Despite my denial, the lie detector hilariously exposed the truth, and Ryan, who has a deep love for that syrup, was genuinely offended. The revelation left us all in fits of laughter, and Ryan playfully expressed his dismay, sharing that he had to wait a whopping two years to go back to Canada and buy his cherished maple syrup again. The Lie Detector interview, with its blend of humor, fashion flair, and unexpected revelations, became a delightful and beautiful experience.
THE TONIGHT SHOW - JIMMY FALLON
Tumblr media
2023
During my recent appearance on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, we delved into the exciting details of my upcoming film, "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo." Jimmy expressed his admiration for the character and my performance, playfully saying "I think the academy is calling Winter!" Our conversation extended to the source material, the book, where we shared our favorite scenes and discussed the nuanced differences between the film adaptation and the literary masterpiece. I revealed that I was already a devoted fan of the book before the film was announced, and my audition was fueled by a genuine love for the character of Evelyn Hugo. Expressing how the role had elevated my craft, I shared with Jimmy that stepping into Evelyn's shoes was not just acting; it was a transformative experience. At the premiere, I found myself feeling more like Evelyn Hugo than Winter Jackman, a testament to the immersive joy that this role brought to my journey as an actress.

New Jodie interview. Please someone drop the name of her pup.
It's behind a paywall, so if you want to read it, it's below the cut!
It was a gamble that few actresses would have dared to take. After four years making her name as the charismatic psychopath Villanelle in Killing Eve, Jodie Comer rolled the dice — and changed her life.
Having not acted on stage since she was 16, Comer risked her growing reputation to star in a one-woman show in the West End. Prima Facie proved a sensation and transferred to Broadway. And last year the Liverpudlian won the most prestigious theatre awards on both sides of the Pond — an Olivier and a Tony — and, aged 30, entered a new era. The Com-era, perhaps?
Today she is a fully fledged film star, taking her first leading role in The End We Start From — a smart, bold post-apocalyptic indie drama about a mother (Comer) and her baby (not Comer’s baby). The film already has nine nominations for the British Independent Film awards, and Baftas should follow.
Comer is in a car with a lively dog when we talk via Zoom. She is in a black hoodie, with her long blonde hair loosely tied, and seems extraordinarily calm — except when the dog leaps across the screen. Her Zen is worth mentioning because the last time I saw her was when she prowled the stage with fear and fury in Prima Facie, playing a barrister who defends men accused of sexual assault before she is sexually assaulted herself. One woman going full throttle in defence of all women.
“My sleep was all over the place,” Comer says of her stint playing Tessa. “It’s tricky when you do something emotional. You think, ‘OK, it’s not real.’ But there is some part that tricks your body into believing that what you’re saying and feeling is a real experience. It becomes important to take care of yourself. With theatre it’s kinetic. You’re sharing space with 900 people.
“It’s … it’s tough. But clearly something I love putting myself through.” She pauses. “Yeah, I underestimated Prima Facie. Totally. I just didn’t know what to expect.”
It was not her first ordeal either. She’s drawn to gruelling roles, from Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, in which her character, Marguerite de Carrouges, was the victim of a rape, to Help, the bleak Channel 4 care home Covid drama. There was also Free Guy, a video-games blockbuster with Ryan Reynolds, but when I ask if Comer is tempted to pick something else fun as a break from Prima Facie, she explains that having a laugh is not enough.
“I like to be in a difficult place,” she says. “A place of self-discovery. Where I feel challenged. With Free Guy that part of me that comes away from my work feeling that I had to dig deep was missing … I came away thinking, ‘Wow, I’ve had so much fun.’ And that should be enough. But I like anything that holds a mirror up to this human experience. It’s just what I’m drawn to.”
Which leads us to The End We Start From. The film is directed by Mahalia Belo and takes place in modern-day London, telling the tale of Mother (Comer), whose waters break just as Britain experiences mass flooding. Metaphors à gogo, but the film works superbly as an intimate study of how an individual deals with a global disaster. How can a parent protect a baby as society collapses?
Comer is barely seen on screen without a baby. The crew had to use several because strict rules mean each infant can only work for 20 minutes at a time. (There are agencies that expectant parents use to sign their unborn child up to a film company.)
We all know an actor should never work with children or animals, but a baby is a whole other, wriggly challenge. Comer really does nothing by halves. How hard is it to act with one? “It’s such a lesson,” says Comer, who is not a mother. Did it come naturally? “Oh God, no!”
“The smallest baby was eight weeks,” she explains, smiling softly. “At first my hands were visibly shaking. My younger cousins have grown up now, so I’m not around babies an awful lot. It felt like a huge responsibility. I thought, ‘Wow, they’re so fragile.’ But I became more comfortable, sometimes to my detriment! There are scenes where we needed a baby to cry but I was soothing him instead. The crew would shout ‘Stop!’” She pauses. “I was kind of falling in love with them.”
The film shows the thrill of being a first-time parent much more than the panic. As prep for Prima Facie Comer watched cases at the Old Bailey. What did she do for this? “My best friend had a baby before filming, so I was able to ask personal questions,” Comer says. “I also spent time with midwives — there is a birthing sequence and I wanted to know about the physicality, where you feel pain giving birth. Having not had a child myself, I wanted women to see the truth in what they saw.”
It comes as no surprise that Belo was inspired to direct her first feature film after giving birth during the pandemic. “Your whole body gets taken over by this beautiful thing,” Belo says about being a mother. “Every part of your body is different from then on and it’s not only that — all your relationships are different too. You’ve got this other sound going on, that’s about your children. I wanted to represent that.”
The End We Start From is a film so clearly made by a woman who has young children, you can almost smell the nappies. Post-apocalyptic films usually star a man walking in a desolate landscape alone with his thoughts, and a dog. So it is quietly revolutionary to focus on a woman and her newborn.
“I think so,” Comer says. “What I love is that it’s a woman who is the everyday hero — we always see men with a superhero quality facing this situation. But here it is a woman many will feel they know. She’s not scaling buildings, or jumping over bridges. The story is deep-rooted in her psyche and emotion. It’s refreshing.”
The film also grapples with climate change. “Endless amounts of rain — I can’t see anything out of the window …” Comer says with a sigh as she looks out of the car at a very wet Britain. Belo, who lives in east London, made the film as her neighbourhood in Walthamstow suffered unprecedented flooding. When she consulted flood experts, their conversations were bleak. “Sea levels are rising, rainfall is becoming more extreme. We are an island; things are going to go wrong and we’re not prepared. We know what’s happening.”
For some The End We Start From will just be a stirring story of the lengths that we go to protect our children. Others, though, will locate an edge that is common to so much of Comer’s work. It is another entry on a CV that is trying to make a difference. Does she think that art can actually change anything? “Absolutely,” Comer says. “When I read the scripts they provoked an emotion in me that felt important. I felt engaged and that’s the biggest thing now, isn’t it? To keep people engaged in what you’re saying, and so that you can change things. I witnessed conversations around sexual assault when working on Prima Facie and saw subtle shifts within the law.
“Women and men were telling me what that play had enabled them to do, whether it was to seek counselling or have a conversation with their family. That may seem like a very small change but it is mighty in somebody’s life. You can see what a profound effect watching a piece of art has on somebody. That means a lot to me.”
This desperation to make stuff that really matters is why Comer stands out. She also excels in the 1960s-set The Bikeriders, about gangs and masculinity, out in the summer, alongside Tom Hardy. If you were to put her in a bracket of skill and achievement right now, you could say that she is where Jodie Foster was as she entered her thirties. They share the sass, steeliness and spark that Foster displayed in the controversial courtroom drama The Accused — which deals with the subject of rape — a sort of prototype Prima Facie.

hiii elly <3
kinda bored lately and wanted to watch something so came here for recs :) could be of any kind btw like movies, tv shows (any language)
also maybe not something from your top ten kdramas post lol i've already watched most of the shows on there
also how're you doing?
hope you're doing well <33
Hey girl hey! Thank you for asking, I'm doing well! Terribly busy, but on the whole things are good. How about you?
Oooh okay this is quite a thing to ask me, I'm going to get decision paralysis dhdvdvdg but let me think of some less-common things I can recommend!
Available on Prime Video.
The Surprise (2015). Also available on Tubi. After inking their own death warrants, an eccentric millionaire and distraught woman fall in love and find voiding their contracts isn't an option. Romance! Dark humor! The k-drama truck of doom, except it's a Dutch movie! (Disclaimer: I do not recommend watching this film if one is suicidal)
From Prada to Nada (2011). A modern Mexican-American adaptation of Sense and Sensibility that surprisingly really works?? The title is woeful but the movie is pretty darn good.
The Lady Vanishes (2013). Iris Carr is traveling across Europe by train when she befriends Miss Froy, an elderly English woman. But when she wakes up from a few hours' sleep, Miss Froy has vanished. As fellow passengers claim the lady never existed, Iris fights to discover the fate of Miss Froy - and prove that she's not going mad.
Love and Friendship (2016). Adaptation of Jane Austen's Lady Susan, starring Kate Beckinsdale. The main character is the definition of gaslight gatekeep girlboss, and the supporting characters are all just. so funny.
To Tell The Truth (1961). If you just want something to distract you that doesn't take a lot of thinking, old game shows are ideal. In this one, a celebrity panel tries to guess which of three strangers is the person they claim to be.
Masterpiece/PBS Passport Shows.
All Creatures Great and Small (since 2020). Season 4 currently airing. A feel-good (but unafraid to get real and sad) show about the misadventures of a country vet practice in Yorkshire.
Miss Scarlet and the Duke (since 2020). Season 4 currently airing. In 1880s London, the daughter of a private investigator decides to take over his detective business after his untimely death. Mystery series that also has just about the BEST opening titles ever.
Available on Tubi (which is free!)
Forever Young (1992). The movie where I realized that Mel Gibson was cute, actually. In 1939, a heartbroken Army pilot volunteers for a cryogenics experiment and wakes up in 1992, where he gets a second shot at love.
The Space Between Us (2017). On his first visit to Earth, a man born and raised on Mars bonds with a street-smart young woman while unraveling the mysteries of how he came to be. To quote my mutual Chris: "wanna cry? 🥰"
The Dick Van Dyke Show (1960s). Some of the stuff hasn't aged well, but this is still one my top favorite old sitcoms. All the characters are so fun and endearing. You probably won't want to sift through all five seasons, so my top episode recommendations are "The Curious Thing About Women" (s1 e16), "The Two Faces of Rob" (s2 e2), "That's My Boy??" (s3 e1), "Big Max Calvada" (s3 e9), "October Eve" (s3 e28), "My Mother Can Beat Up My Father" (s4 e1), "4 1/2" (s4 e7), "The Impractical Joke" (s4 e16), and "Coast to Coast Big Mouth" (s5 e1).
(I got a little too excited with those episode recs, oopsie 🤭)
The Surprise, like I mentioned.
I just found out that they have some episodes of The Flintstones and Tom and Jerry on Tubi, if you want some good nostalgic laughs.
Available on Netflix.
Love At First Sight (2023). Cute romance about taking a chance on a good feeling.
The Adam Project (2022). You've probably seen it, but I will mention it anyway! Time travel. Annoying and precocious 12-year-old child. Ryan Reynolds and Zoe Saldaña. Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo! FIVE STARS.
Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would (2022). The best Trevor Noah special, in my opinion. The curry story??? Iconic forever and ever.
The Full-Time Wife Escapist (2018). A woman takes a job as a housekeeper, but in order to stay in it, she and her boss agree to a contract marriage. If you've ever seen the k-drama Because This Is My First Life... This is the better version of that show, imo. The ML is suchhh a sweetheart.
Indian Matchmaking (since 2020). I never watch reality TV, so I don't know how I started seeing this show, but it's SO good and super bingeable.
Omg the Jurassic Park movies are on Netflix right now
Available on Hulu.
Wild Mountain Thyme (2020). It's a love story, and it's so silly and enjoyable. The resolution is just shdhfhshshsg
The Giver (2014). Jonas learns the secrets of the past, and the utopia he's grown up in begins to look more and more dystopian. Also, Taylor Swift is there for some reason.
Flamin' Hot (2023). It wasn't until I watched this that I realized how much I need movies about Mexican success stories in my life. File this under ✨inspirational✨
If you haven't yet watched The Artful Dodger (2023), you absolutely should. Come for the romance, stay for the absolutely bonkers, insane hijinks.
I barely started watching Timeless (2016), but it looks really fun and good. It's about time travel, unsurprisingly for me 🤭
Available on Disney+
Baby's Day Out (1994). A childhood CLASSIC of mine. The cuteness is just. so much. The humor is standard slapstick, but really fun, and the mom has some of the most gorgeous 90s outfits omggg
Hidden Figures (2016). I love this movie endlesslyyy. Awesome intelligent Black women overcoming the odds, space race setting, and even a side of cute romance.
The Art of Racing in the Rain (2019). Dare I say, best dog movie I've seen?
The Call of the Wild (2020). Another dog movie, with Harrison Ford. I don't remember much of it but I remember really enjoying it.
Milo Murphy's Law (2017–2018). Have you seen this follow-up to Phineas and Ferb? If you haven't, you need to. The comedy is so gold tier and the music slaps.
Delicacies Destiny (2022). I kind of stopped watching this c-drama about 1/3 of the way through, but I totally should pick it up again, and it's worth watching even if just for all the gorgeous food scenes.
And of course, anything from my top ten k-dramas that you haven't seen yet is an automatic recommendation 😌
This got. so long. I hope you find something here that you like and thank you for asking @milkteawithrusk!! This was so fun to put together! 🫶🏼

Anything But Free- Chapter 3
Pairing: Chris Evans x Reader
Summary: you’re Ryan Reynolds’ assistant/best friend/go to gal for everything, and you’re having the time of your life. When he surprises you during the filming of “Free Guy,” you’re wondering if you can actually have it all
Warnings: FLUFFFFFFFF, self doubt, little bit of heat, language, awkwardness, who knows what else
Word Count: 1.7k
---------------------------
By the time your brain processes what’s going on, he’s already kissing you back. God, his lips feel nice, you think to yourself. You pull away, looking down at your hands.
“Oh, my God, I’m so sorry I did that I just-“
He grins, kissing your hand, “don’t apologize. That kiss was…”
“Incredible?”
“I was actually going to say spectacular, but sure, incredible works, too.”
There’s a knock on your booth again as your server delivers your food. She doesn’t say a word, but she gives you a small smile. You feel blood rush to your cheeks and start sipping your water. She tells you to enjoy before closing the curtain back up and departing.
You wordlessly pick up your fork and take a bite, too caught off guard by the incredible taste to stop the moan that slips out. Your eyes widen and you bite your lip, taking a deep breath. You set down your fork and put the napkin on the table.
You step out of the booth, and though you can’t bring yourself to meet his eyes, you look in his general direction and say, “I’m sorry,” before quickly walking out of the restaurant.
You put your AirPods in and speed toward your hotel in the rain, keeping your coat collar up as your head stays down. You reach the building and take the elevator to your floor, not even a little bit surprised to see Ryan outside your room.
“Hey, BUDDY,” he says snarkily, “how was dinner?”
You roll your eyes and unlock your door, trying to stop him coming in. Unfortunately, he’s quicker than you and beats you inside.
“Obviously, Ryan, you know how dinner was.”
“I just want to know why. You’ve always wanted to meet him, I thought you would love this.”
“Ryan! You never meet your heroes. Now I know him. Now he’s interested in me. I don’t want him to see the real me.”
“The real you?” He scoffs, “the real you that is kind, smart, compassionate, wonderful, and selfless? Oh no, why would he ever want to know such a person?”
“He’s a movie star. He knows a lot of big people. I’m just an assistant who happens to be around lots of famous people. I’m too boring for him. I don’t want him to be disappointed.”
“Bub, he’s not gonna be disappointed. You’re my best friend. I want the best for you, but I’m not going to lie to help you get that. I told him a lot about you, some good, some bad.”
“How bad?”
“Eh, that’s a story for another time. Anyway, any and all interest he shows is genuinely him wanting to know you. He wouldn’t just be fucking around with you, that’s not the kind of person he is.”
You sigh, “I mean, I guess you’re right. I am pretty special.”
“Damn straight!” Your buddy says, giving you a high five and patting you on the back. “Now will you please go back to the restaurant?”
You fix yourself up in the mirror and look at him, “okay, get out of my room so I can leave.”
You stride back to the door and open it, startled when you see Chris on the other side, hand raised.
“Sooooooooo I’m gonna go,” Ryan says awkwardly, patting Chris’ shoulder, “hey buddy what’s up okay bye,” he runs down the hallway and hops in the elevator while the doors close.
“Soo…. Do you want to come in?” You ask, stepping aside with an extended arm.
He gestures a thank you as he steps inside, “Sorry, I asked the front desk which one was your room. And I was going to knock, I just…”
“You just?” You prompt, closing the door behind you.
“I just didn’t know if you wanted to see me.”
“Chris,” you sigh, “I’m sorry I left. I was just thinking that I’m not enough for you. You’re used to big Hollywood names. I’m nobody. I’m just an assistant.”
He shakes his head as he takes a step toward you, “you’re not a nobody. You’re you. You’re beautiful, you’re sweet, you’re smart. I don’t want Hollywood. I want you.”
And then, you do it again.
You kiss Chris Evans.
And he kisses you back.
You’re gripping his collar, he’s holding your hips. You lose all sense of space and time, and the two of you are all that exists. Your dizziness reminds you that you haven’t been breathing, so you slowly pull away, looking into pure blue eyes.
“Soo………. Are we doing this?” He asks, his voice light and hopeful.
“We’re doing this,” you confirm, and before you can even think, his lips are on yours again. You zone out for a second, but then pull away and put a hand on his chest.
“So wait, how is this going to work? I’ve never dated a famous person before.”
“That’s up to you, sweetheart. We can try to keep this a secret and out of the public eye. I’m not sure how well that would work, but it’s an option. Orr…” he looks at you cautiously, “we can just be straight up with this so we’re not caught off card.”
“You won’t mind being seen with me?”
“Quite the opposite, actually. I want everyone to know I got you.”
You blush, scrunching your nose, “okay. Let’s go with the second option.”
“Really? Oh my gosh sweetheart this is gonna be amazing, I promise, nobody is gonna say shit about you.”
You kiss him softly when you hear your bedtime reminder go off. “It’s late, we should probably call it a night.”
“Okay, I’ll see you on set tomorrow. You want coffee?”
“I mean…” you look at the floor, refusing to meet his eyes, “if you wanna just sleep here, we can just go to set together in the morning. And get coffee together.”
“Are you sure? I can absolutely go home, no questions asked, and I’ll come pick you up in the morning.”
“No, I mean you can if you want. I was just kind of feeling snuggly,” you say with a small laugh.
“What’s so funny?”
“It sounds so ridiculous out loud. I want to snuggle with Chris Evans.”
He wraps you in a bear hug and gives you a tight squeeze, “well what if Chris Evans wants to snuggle with you, too?”
“Then I guess Chris Evans is spending the night.” He releases you with a kiss on the forehead, and you grab clothes to sleep in. You go into the bathroom and change, then stare at yourself in the mirror.
“Alrighty, Y/N. This is what we’re gonna do. You’re going to get your shit together. You are going to accept that there are genuine and good people in the world, and not everyone is rooting against you. Chris likes you. He wants to be with you. So stop being such a bitch and just be open and nice.”
You take a deep breath, brush your teeth, comb your hair, and step back out into the bedroom.
“Nice room you have here,” he says appreciatively from the bed.
“Yeah it’s pretty cool, Ryan paid for it. He doesn’t let me do anything because, ‘I do everything for him.’ He’s a good buddy, though.” You switch off the overhead light and climb into bed, feeling bare legs against yours.
“I sleep in boxers, is that okay?”
You force yourself to relax, “yeah sure of course,” you muster as the reality of your situation sets in.
You are officially dating Chris Evans. Chris Evans is in your bed. Chris Evans is not wearing pants. Chris Evans!!!!!!
“You still wanna snuggle?” He asks hesitantly.
You nestle yourself securely into the mattress and grin at him, “I’m all yours.”
He flashes a smirk at you and tickles your waist while kissing your neck, before settling in and spooning you. His pelvis pressed against yours, his firm chest against your much smaller back.
“So what happens tomorrow?”
“What happens tomorrow is I’m sure someone knows I’m here, and I’m sure they’ll be waiting downstairs in the morning. I’m also sure that you matter more to me than any of those camera wielding monkeys. You say the word and we take this private. I don’t want to disrupt anything for you.”
“Mm okay Chris,” you mumble as you drift off in your lover’s arms.
——————
You wake up to an alarm, but it’s not your alarm. You feel an unfamiliar warmth around you and start to panic until the memory of last night sets in. You smile to yourself and snuggle into his arms, and he squeezes you in acknowledgement.
“Good morning, sweetheart,” he says softly in your ear. You feel movement and the alarm goes quiet. He slips an arm around your waist and nuzzles into you while peppering your neck with tiny kisses.
“Good morning, babe.”
He groans into your neck, “I like that.”
“I like you,” you grin before rolling over and kissing him firmly on the lips.
He laughs into the kiss, tickling your waist again, “oh yeah?”
You laugh loudly and squirm away from him, but his efforts continue.
“Say it again and I’ll stop!”
“I LIKE YOU!!!!!” You whisper-shout, and he stops. You lean over and kiss him again before getting off the bed. You turn and look at him, hands on your hips.
“You ready?”
He gives you a firm nod and stands up, reminding you that he is in just boxers. You grab an outfit for the day which happens to be skinny jeans and a ruffled top, then turn to see Chris watching you, his eyes darting away when he notices you looking.
Your door chimes, and Ryan walks in with some clothes and 3 coffees.
“Chris, you’re lucky I want you dating my best friend, otherwise I would not have gone to get you clothes and walk your dog.”
He tosses something at Chris, who nods and thanks him before putting on the shirt and sweater.
“So, kids, what happened last night?” Ryan queries, taking a sip of coffee.
Chris smirks and grabs you by the waist, kissing you deeply. He pulls away, looks at Ryan, and says, “a gentleman doesn’t kiss and tell.”

some question inspo for the livestream
So you just purchased a ticket (bless u 🫡 have fun) but now you're panicking because of the "interactive" feature of said event? You think of what you could possibly ask them about sunny but are drawing a blank? Do not fret, here are some ideas you can draw inspiration from, if you want. You don't have to of course, it's your money, but I think it's fun and it could be useful to make such a list in case the question you prepared gets asked by someone else first!
If some are worded weirdly, chalk that up to me being ESL, but feel free to reword them to your liking or change them up entirely, it's just for inspo.
Related to sunny:
What inspired you to write [your own favorite episode]?
Are there details such as the shoe print on Mac's The Gang Goes To Hell shirt in Hero or Hate Crime that you're disappointed the fans have missed?
Where is [the dildo bike, the RPG]?
What's [x character] favorite [y thing like singer, show, color, anything you want]?
What do you think Mac used the remaining money from his winning ticket for? (14$)
Do you have plans for Brian JR/do you know what happened in North Dakota/will you explore it more or do you plan to keep it up for interpretation?
S15 was different from all previous seasons, so what were some challenges that were unique to it wether in writing, filming or anything else?
Whose head did The Gang Does A Clip Show take place inside of, Dennis or Charlie?
Why four more seasons in particular?
What's the best season?
What is your favorite episode from each season? Least favorite?
What are some characters you would like to bring back?
How is Charlie and the Waitress' relationship like currently?/What is the Waitress up to?
What would happen if the gang made paddy a gay bar again in the present day? How would things differ from the pilot episode?
Will S16 feature a seasonal arc like S15 did or was it a one off thing?
Has Dennis ever used the algorithm featured in Paddy's Has A Jumper for other things/does he make up algorithms often to try to solve problems?
Do you really not have a show bible?
What are some other actors that you would like to see play Mac's boyfriend if Ryan Reynolds were unavailable or you decided against casting him?
Are there jokes that you're disappointed most fans haven't caught?
Related to macdennis:
Is Mac currently still feeding Dennis blended up pizza and soda shakes?/Dying his hair?
Did The Gang Chokes imply that Mac and Dennis no longer have dinners together but rather they do it with the rest of the gang?/What about movie nights?
Have you ever noticed that Mac and Dennis' names sound a lot like the protagonists in Brokeback Mountain, Jack and Ennis?
What prompted The Gang Gets Romantic to be made?
How was Mac able to afford the RPG?
Was there any reason for the lock in The Gang Escapes to be heart shaped? *insert playful knowing expression 😏*
In The Gang Tends Bar, Mac mentions that Dennis has been distant from him lately and insists it's because he's gay, but Charlie counters saying he's known that since forever so it can't be. Can you tell us a bit more about what the real reasons could be?
What is your favorite Mac and Dennis centric episode and why?
How does Dennis know so much about gay subculture?
Was The Gang Chokes inspired by Phantom Thread?
Related to RCGM:
Does Glenn plan to direct more episodes in S16?
What is Rob's favorite Ryan Reynolds movie?
What is Megan's favorite episode and least favorite?/What episode she wishes she could've helped write?/What has been her favorite episode to work on so far?/What is her favorite character to write for?
What's the hardest character to write for?
What are your impressions of the fandom?
What's your name for the dennis sex doll, and are you aware a subset of fans calls it "rubby reynolds"?
Glenn, what made you rediscover a newfound passion for writing sunny?
How has been the fan reception to the podcast?
Will there be more live events (streamed or in person) in the future?
Glenn, will you ever make more playlists?
You guys grindin'? 🤭 (I'M KIDDING!!)
Okay I have no more ideas left in me 😵‍💫 but if you feel like adding more please feel free to do so!! Maybe there's a question you're curious about but don't really want to ask yourself, and someone else might...

Accidents Happen Part 1–Joe Keery
Tumblr media
Getting cast in Free Guy was the big career move I needed. Working with someone like Ryan Reynolds would definitely put me on the map. I started acting three years ago. Nothing too big. Just small appearances on tv shows and tv movies. This was going to be my big break.
I hope.
I walked out of the costume trailer and headed toward set. I nervously played with my fingers, running through the stunt in my head. We break through the window and jump onto a green screen bar. We have a safety harness in case something goes wrong.
I gasped when I bumped into someone. I looked up, my breath getting caught in my throat when I saw Joe smiling down at me.
Joe and I met at an event for Netflix. He was there for Stranger Things, I was there for a small movie I did for Netflix. We bumped into each other and Joe accidentally spilled his drink down my dress. He gave me his suit coat and we spent the entire night just talking. We exchanged numbers and stayed in touch.
"Are you guys ready to rehearse the final scene?"
"Yep!" Joe chuckled. I glanced over at Joe's smiling face, the butterflies in my stomach waking up. Before we filmed the big stunt scene, Joe and I were rehearsing our characters' final scene.
"Of course," I nodded, quickly looking away from him.
"Perfect," Shawn smiled. He clapped his hands and rubbed them together. "Places."
I glanced over at Joe before clearing my throat and walking to my starting mark.
"Action!"
I waited a few beats before running down the street and into the view of the camera. When I got to my spot, I turned and saw Joe.
"Keys!"
We stared at each other from across the street. I could practically hear the music they planned to use for this moment. Joe and I stood across the street from each other, cars constantly driving between us. The longer we stared at each other, the crazier the butterflies in my stomach went.
"And. . . Go," Shawn whispered.
As instructed, we jogged to our next spots, inches from each other. The second we met, we leaned in and kissed. Those butterflies I mentioned earlier went absolutely nuts as our lips moved in sync.
"Cut!" Shawn yelled. We pulled apart, both of us out of breath. I looked into his eyes and he looked into mine.
"Wow," I whispered before I could stop myself. "That was. . ."
"Yeah," Joe chuckled.
"Yeah?"
We slowly pulled out of our embrace, taking a few steps away from each other. I instantly wrapped my arms around myself. Joe opened his mouth to say something but Shawn interrupted.
"That was perfect, you two!" He jogged over and patted us on our backs. "We'll film that for real tomorrow. Right now, Y/N, it's time for the motorcycle stunt!"
                                * * * * *
I was nervously pacing back and forth in my trailer, playing with my hands, unable to stand still. I continued to play with my hands as I walked to set. My head was down so I didn't see Joe in front of me until it was too late.
"Whoa," he laughed as he gently grabbed my shoulders. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," I stuttered.
"No, you aren't," Joe mumbled.
I started to walk away, but he grabbed my arm. He turned me towards him, his hand slowly dragging down my arm until he intertwined our fingers.
"What's going on, Y/N?"
"It's nothing."
"Hey," he cut me off. "Something's making you nervous. Talk to me."
"Joe," I started.
"Y/N," Joe sighed. "Talk to me."
I sighed as I pulled my hand out of his and wrapped my arms around myself.
"I just. . . I'm a little nervous about shooting today's scene."
"That's okay," Joe shrugged. "But you also know that the stunt team has run through it several times, checking every little thing."
"I know," I stuttered. "Which is why I don't understand why I'm so nervous right now. I just have this weird feeling."
"Maybe we should talk to Shawn," Joe gently suggested. "If he knew you were uncomfortable, he'd have the stunt team run it until you and Shawn were more comfortable. He would even put it off a couple of days if it made you feel better."
"We can't," I sighed. "We have a filming schedule we need to stick to."
"Y/N," he started, "I don't care about the filming schedule, okay? I care about you."
Joe paused as he took a step closer to me. I could feel his breath on my face. He leaned in, his face inches from mine. All I had to do was tilt my head up and our lips would touch.
"I always have," Joe whispered.
I held back in a surprised gasp when he gently pressed his lips to mine. The kiss was soft and gentle. Neither one of us deepened it. This kiss felt very similar to our scene, but this one felt a little more real.
"We should get to set," I said, barely audible after I broke the kiss.
I slowly took a step back, stepping out of Joe's embrace. I wrapped my arms around myself, my head swirling. Joe and I stared at each other until it got too much. I turned around and quickly walked away with my arms wrapped tightly around myself.
                                * * * * *
As I walked onto set in my Molotov Girl outfit, I noticed Joe sitting behind the camera. He sent me a reassuring smile which I returned with a hesitant one.
"You got this," Joe mouthed.
"You ready?"
I looked over my shoulder to see Ryan walking over. I cleared my throat and tried to smile.
"Ready as I'll ever be," I shrugged.
"Alright," Shawn chuckled, "here's how it's going to go; this is just the scene of you guys bursting through the window and jumping off the motorcycle. We have the prop hang glider right outside the window. The motorcycle will fall and the wires you're connected to will catch you. Let's do this!"
Ryan and I got into our places and started running through the fight choreography when Shawn yelled "action". Everything was going great until Ryan and I busted through the window on the motorcycle.
"I don't suppose this thing can fly."
Ryan laughed like a little kid as he shook his head. "No."
"Jump," I recited as I reached behind myself and acted like I was throwing an object.
I went to grab the prop hang glider but something came undone. It broke the second Ryan and I grabbed it. Ryan's wire caught him, but mine snapped.
The next thing I knew, I was falling with the bike. I felt a sharp pain throughout my body as I hit the ground. I went in and out of consciousness, struggling to stay awake.
3rd POV
The room was silent.
Then as if someone flipped a switch, everyone sprang into action. Someone called 911. Another person went to get emergency supplies. An assistant ran to call Y/N's manager. Shawn, the stunt coordinator, and a few other assistants ran to Y/N.
Joe stood frozen as the group got to Y/N. They knelt down and immediately started disconnecting her from the broken rigging.
"What the hell happened?!" Shawn yelled at the stunt coordinator, Tony.
"I don't know," he stuttered. "The hang glider must've. . ."
"I don't care about the hang glider," Shawn said through his teeth. "I'm wondering more about why her safety harness didn't catch her."
"Well, the ropes were old and. . ."
"They were old?!" He cut Tony off again. "Are you saying you willingly gave Y/N  an 'old' rigging during the most dangerous stunt in the entire movie?! Have you any idea what you've done?"
"Okay," Ryan stepped in, "I think he gets it, Shawn."
"I don't think he does," Shawn scolded Tony.
"Look, it was an accident," Ryan tried to calm him down. "These things happen. No one wanted Y/N to get hurt. What happened doesn't really matter anymore. What matters now is making sure we get Y/N the help she needs."
After that, no one said a word. The ambulance arrived and the EMTs jumped into action. Everyone moved out of the way to give them room to work. As they lifted Y/N onto a gurney, Ryan walked over to Joe.
"She's going to be alright," he said under his breath.
"What if she's not?"

Modern!Eddie Munson Headcanons (x fem!Reader) 18+ MINORS DNI
a/n: are a lot of these projection and things based off people i actually know? i'll never tell they are AND in this universe, the kids are all fine and well adjusted, the teens are all friends :)
WARNINGS: some NSFW content at the end so feel free to skip that if you so please- READER IS IMPLIED TO BE 18+ taking/sending nudes, cum painting (?), somnophilia (a reach but kind of), size kink stuff sorta, only fans mention, sexting, dirty talk
Tumblr media
General HCs:
- Went through a phase of listening to music exclusively on soundcloud but then realised how impractical it was and now uses free spotify
- Does hair masks once a month to keep the mane looking fluffy
- Tried to do a stick and poke on himself with a safety pin at 15 but chickened out so he just has 2 little dots on his ankle
- Uncle Wayne let him watch The Ring when he was way too young and he couldn’t sleep for a month afterwards, and occasionally he gets freaked out thinking about it too much
- Doesn’t know what letterboxd is even though Robin explains it to him every time she brings it up (sidenote: she brings letterboxd up A LOT because she’s on it constantly and her reviews always get tons of likes because they’re hilarious)
- Had one ear pierced but forgot to keep an earring in it and it closed up within a month
-Destroys everyone at Mario Kart, only ever plays as Waluigi (had to fight Mike for the right to be Waluigi, Mike now plays as Lemmy Koopa)
- His instagram is just videos of him playing guitar
- Go-to karaoke song is Tribute by Tenacious D
- Doesn’t understand the console wars but will go with whatever Dustin thinks is better
- Downloaded TikTok in 2018 when it was kind of edgy but deleted in 2019 when lots of people started using it
- Loves playing iMessage games (especially with Max, who always beats him at Darts and Connect 4)
- Wireless bluetooth earbuds user (but NOT airpods, like Raycon or something)
- HATES LED strip lights (thinks they’re overdone and tacky in 2022)
- Follows Ryan Reynolds on twitter
- Would start ironically using the crying-laughing emoji but now he can’t stop
- Game of Thrones stan for the first 7 seasons, was heartbroken with what happened with the last season
- Unironically loves Hairspray (2007), but claims it's because of the cultural significance and shit, but everyone sees right through him (ESPECIALLY Robin, but she loves it too)
- Cannot stand boba, they don’t feel right on his teeth and the pearls make him gag
- Still smokes cigarettes and joints, but also bought a dab pen just to see what it was like–not his thing, but it still sits in his glove box in his van
- Listen, Brennan Lee Mulligan is his hero, and he listens to like all his campaigns (even the badly censored Dimension 20 podcasts on spotify)
- Have a feeling (even though he’s a metal head) he would LOVE Dave Grohl, like just as a person, he’d vibe with the guy
- It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia stan, but he actually gets the show and has critical thinking about it
- He has like 6 different sets of DnD dice that he impulsively bought from Etsy, his favourite is this gold set with black lettering but he also loves the ones he has that are clear with red numbers and red flecks suspended in the plastic but it’s hard to read them sometimes
- For some reason I get the vibes that he would be obsessed with learning about Ancient Mesopotamia? I don’t know why I just think he would watch like every documentary about it–there may or may not be weed involved.
- Loves playing minecraft on rainy days
- Likes tofu, surprisingly! He loves it fried so it’s all crispy with a chilli sauce of some kind
- Still uses the DSI he got for his 11th birthday to play Pokemon
Relationship HCs:
- this man would make you so many spotify playlists, like his entire account is just different playlists for you, for all your different moods (even if your music taste and him aren’t exactly the same, he’ll still do some research to find songs you like that fit into the vibes of each playlist)
- his lockscreen is a photo of the two of you that he took on like your fourth date–its a selfie he conned you into taking with him because he’d just ‘found this snapchat filter that cracks him up’ (it was that filter with the sunglasses and the beards, you smile everytime you see his phone light up with a notification)
- also he has an instagram highlight with just photos and videos of you, you hate it but he REFUSES to delete it– “but baby, if I delete it, I’ll lose all those photos! I don’t have enough storage on my phone!”
- sometimes for fun (if you’re into it) you do his makeup. Like FULL GLAM as much as you can, just when you guys are bored and hanging out; you take a million photos of it and swear not to show anyone but you’ve definitely sent at least one to Dustin and now its just a matter of time until Dustin posts it as retaliation for Eddie cancelling Hellfire one week or something, you just know it
- one time he bought you one of those boxes from those sketchy dropshipping websites where like there’s a set of 2 and you can send drawings to each other with them. They worked for about a week but then your’s suddenly died and you were never able to turn it on again
- pretends it doesn’t affect him, but totally gets sad when you guys watch sad movies like Me Before You or Brokeback Mountain–he’ll say he has to go to the bathroom at the end of the movie but you totally hear him sniffling in there and you have to coax him out so you can comfort him
- would 100% let you paint his nails! He started out with only being comfortable with black, but then he let you add a red nail nail once, and then from there he wants you to do every colour imaginable (as long as it looks metal, so unfortunately no pastels)
- he went through a phase of only talking to you with the Apple Memoji thing, like every text you sent would get a reply of a video with that thing. Also it doesn’t look anything like him, it has blue skin and hot pink hair but he loves it and thinks its so cool
- When you first started dating, you were super awkward about your period, like you would NOT tell him when you were on your period until like one time you’re just going through it and can’t smile through the cramps so he takes care of you, and you tell him all about the different period things because he’s lowkey kinda curious and he wants to be knowledgable so he can care for you (like symptoms and also all the different products you can use, that’s mostly why I’m putting this in modern!Eddie, because of the more open dialogue and variety of products)
NSFW HCs (there’s not a lot I’m sorry):
- he only has snapchat because he has tons of photos and videos saved at memories and he doesn’t have enough storage to keep them in his camera roll. At least that’s what he says but really its because he has so many nudes–yours and his–in his my eyes only. Like dick pics he’s sent you, videos of you guys fucking, photos he took of you with cum splattered across your tits and your face, one of when you fell asleep naked and he couldn’t help but noticed how nice your boobs looked so he had to snap a pic, and the pièce de résistance of his collection–a video of your belly while you two were having sex where you can see his dick bulging out of your abdomen–he was just so enthralled by it at the time that he had to take a video so he could watch it again later, no matter how many times you told him he could just see the real thing
- Eddie would also be so down if you wanted to make an Only Fans, with or without him involved. If you wanted to go solo, he’d be all over his (private) twitter hyping you up, he’d even subscribe, saying he had to ‘support his girl’. And if you wanted to do some content together, he’d be over the moon–he’d be hard as a rock just thinking about it. And I imagine you guys would probably be pretty successful, as a metalhead with tattoos and a monster cock (because he’s PACKING) and his plaything, both switchy as hell, you’d honestly be raking it in lmao
- ok this man is also ALWAYS down to sext. Like you could be at your job, it could be like 3 in the afternoon and he would just send you ‘thinking about that pussy, feeling hungry’ and then just let you squirm for a couple hours. Or if he had to travel to the next town over for a Corroded Coffin gig (and you couldn’t go, let’s say you had an early morning the next day) and if he wasn’t driving the band, he’d be sexting you the whole way there and back, just torturing himself so the second he gets home he can fuck the living daylights out of you for teasing him as much as you were, though it was totally him who started the whole thing- And let's say in the middle of the night, you’re not staying at his place nor him at your’s and you just receive a voice memo with the caption, ‘don’t listen out loud’ so you grab some earphones and press play and it’s just the filthiest moans and laboured breaths and you KNOW he’s jerking off, whimpering your name and saying how much he wishes his hand was your pussy but he was just too desperate and at the end of it he asks if he can cum, so you just reply with ‘heading over now. Don’t finish til I get there xx’, and he does wait, and he gets lucky enough to cum inside of you, the place he loves the most

We've somehow managed to catch up to the schedule so we finish at 6pm like planned. I make my way to my trailer to get my things, but stop before I can get there. Waiting outside my trailer is Chris and Ryan.
"There you are!" Ryan exclaimes as he spots me.
"Who would've guessed I'd be coming to my trailer!" I sarcastically reply. Chris is leaning against the railing of the stairs, he's taller than me up there, I give him a nod. He jumps down to make room for me to get my stuff. "Not to seem rude, but why are you guys here?" I ask.
"We thought it'd be useful if you and Chris specifically spent some time together discussing your character and the film. Changbin and Han are doing the same with jack". Jack's the male lead in the film. Sweet but a bit too arrogant for my taste. A great actor though, fortunately for me.
"Yeah that sounds cool!! Whatever helps with making this the best film it can be!" I reply. Ryan seems to have graduated from Jenna's school of shit eating grins, cause he's beeming from ear to ear.
"I was thinking we could go for dinner tonight? Just in the hotel lobby, and we can discuss some of the major plot points!" Chan interupts mine and Ryan's seeming staring contest.
"Yeah that sounds great! I'm staying at the Milton. Want to come to me or me to you?" I reply.
"I'm staying there too. Seo and Han are staying at another one down the road. The one Jack's staying at right?" He asks Ryan.
"Yeah, there was only one room free at the Milton for 6 weeks." Ryan answers. 6 weeks. I'm gonna be hanging out with Bang Chan for 6 weeks. This is unreal.
"Oh, well I'm heading back now. If you're ready to go back you can join me in my car. I'm sure Keith wouldn't mind extra company!" I say locking up my trailer.
"Yeah that sounds great actually. I'll just get my things and say bye to the boys. I'll be back in a few" With that Chris leaves me and Ryan stood outside my trailer.
"What are you doing?" I probe him. "You know I fancy him", I feel like a child whining to their dad.
"I thought you'd enjoy working with him. Plus he's a fan of yours just as much as you are of him."
"Well that's bullshit. I've litterally been in 4 things beside this. And in one of them most of my scenes were cut."
"He saw the play you were in, in London." I'm taken aback.
"He saw the crucible?" This play pretty much changed my life. I played a supporting character in the national theatres production of the crucible. That's where Blake and Ryan saw me for the first time, and apparently Chris Bang did too.
"Yeah he came with us" Ryan replied.
"You never told me that!"
"Must've slipped my mind"
Chan comes back, and I can't help but notice he's put on some more perfume. He smells incredible.
"You ready to go?" I ask
"Yeah" He confirms.
"Nice seeing you Ryan!" I say hugging him tightly. "Tell Blake I'll text her later!". Chris and Ryan say their goodbyes and then it's just me and Chris, walking to the car park. We walk in silence. I'm not sure what Ryan's told him about me. Hopefully nothing.
"So how are you enjoying being in America?" Chan asks breaking the silence.
"It's hot, hotter than England anyway. And I'm actually starting to miss the rain." He laughs, and scratches his head. "How about you?" I ask.
"I like being by the ocean here. Its the best thing about California. Right on the beaches doorstep." He says with a love I find endearing.
"Yeah that is a positive. I actually went to watch the sunset last week at the beach. There's this little secluded area near the Milton. The way the sun bounces of the water if enough to make me cry." I admit, "but what can I say im an actor, we're prone to the dramatics" I joke.
We've found Keith and his black cab and take our seats in the back.
"Evening, Y/N! And who's this?" He asks looking at Chris in the rear view mirror.
"I'm Chris!" He greets with a nod and smile. He really is a charmer.
"He's staying at the Milton too, so I thought it'd make sense for him to come back with us. I hope that's okay?" I say slightly concerned I've annoyed the poor bloke.
"Will it be a recurring thing?" Keith enquires.
"Depends on schedules, but maybe." I answer it the sweetest way I can.
"Well it's nice to meet you Chris"
"You too Keith!". And with that we drive back to the hotel.
The car ride is nice, but long. This week's base location is an hour and a half away from the hotel. Usually I sleep on my way to and from, but it feels rude to do so with Chan here. However I can't help but be lulled asleep by the movement of the car.
I wake up back at the hotel, with Chris gently tapping me awake. Again those sparks appear to be flying.
"Was I snoring?" I ask
"No" Chris says
"Loudly" Keith interjects.
"We're here" Chris informs me. It seems like him and Keith hit it off whilst I was sleeping. Cause they can't stop chatting. We get out the car and wave Keith off.
"He seems lovely. And another Brit!" He exclaims!
"Yeah im pretty sure that's why they assigned us together. It is nice to hear a voice from home." We walk into the foyer and down to the lifts. "What floor are you on?" I ask pressing my floors button.
"Looks like the same as yours" he replies.
"We're floor buddies!" I say instantly regretting it as it comes out my mouth. I sound like a child.
"Yeah I guess we are!" He seems to like that childlikeness. It's something I've always held onto. The childlike wonder and joy. Well tried to hold onto. It makes the dark days easier.
We exit the lift and turn the same way down the corridor. And again. And again. Until there's a dead end and only two rooms left.
"No way are you in room 7," I exclaim "I'm room 8"
"I guess we're actual neighbours too!" He replies sweetly.
"Gonna make this a whole lot easier. How about insted of tea down in the restaurant we order room service and do the work in my room? Its more quiet and less likely to draw any unwanted attention." I say knowing that if Chris is seen with anyone of the opposite sex they'll be some sort of dating rumour.
"Sounds like a plan. Let's say 8:30?"
"It's a date.... not like a date date but like a plan date. You know what I'm just gonna shut up" He smiles at my word vomit and I feel a warmth I haven't felt in a long time.
"8:30 it is! It's a date" He replies. And with that we both enter our rooms. As soon as I shut the door behind me, I head to the shower to wash off, and also to calm me down. I cant believe I'm gonna be hanging out with Bang Chan in an hours time. What the actual fuck is my life.
