What do you mean by Venus floating cities?
I'm hoping to write a science fiction story about visiting Venus as part of the space race and I would love your input
Alright so the thing with Venus is that we're all very familiar with her horrible hell-death clouds and 900°F surface temperatures. We all understand the surface of Venus is not a fun place for humans to be.
Tumblr media
But, nobody ever talks about the fact that ABOVE the hell-death clouds, Venus is a paradise. The most Earth-like environment we know of in the solar system, beyond Earth itself, is actually in the skies of Venus.
About 30 miles above the surface, the pressure is ~1 atmosphere, and the temperature ranges from 30 - 100°F, which is Happy Human™ standard pressure and temperature.
What's more, a breathable mix of oxygen and nitrogen provides over 60% the lifting power on Venus that helium does on Earth. In other words, a balloon full of human-breathable air would float to the habitable range of Venus's atmosphere. We could float a ship with the very air we breathe.
The other great thing about this is that it avoids one of the big problems with Mars colonization. On Mars, any habitat on the surface full of breathable air is vulnerable to leaks and explosive decompression, a la the Martian.
Tumblr media
Floating on Venus, a balloon full of breathable air doesn't have a significant pressure difference between the inside and the outside. Which means, any leaks or tears would be very slow and manageable. You could fix that shit with duct tape!
Similarly, because the environment outside the balloon is so Earth-like, humans living there wouldn't need any big fancy pressurized suits for extravehicular work. We'd need air to breathe, maybe some heat protection, and protection against the acid rain. That's it.
Venus also provides the tools to keep us fed! It's atmosphere is made primarily of carbon dioxide, even above the dense horrible clouds. What likes carbon dioxide? Plants from Earth!! Lets grow FOOD on FLOATING PLATFORMS in the SKIES of VENUS.
This whole idea actually came out of a NASA effort exploring potential Venus colonization. The program was called HAVOC - the High Altitude Venus Operational Concept.
It hasn't really gone anywhere, and as far as I know there are no real plans to revisit it. Unfortunately, from a practicality standpoint, Mars is a much more viable target for human colonization. Not only is it better poised for outer solar system exploration, being farther away from the sun, but living on Venus would come with too many complicated contingencies. In the event of a major failure on Venus, you'd need to fly to another base, or fuck off all the way to orbit. I understand why people aren't really in a hurry to live somewhere where landing on the surface means certain death.
But that doesn't mean I won't be forever and always enamored by the skies of Venus. Here's one of the artist concepts to come out of HAVOC.
Tumblr media
I want to be there.

Hmm, any one notice this?
So a while ago I wrote a meta about how Stede isn’t actually oblivious to his feelings towards Ed, but I was really thinking about it at work today and honestly… Ed kind of is.
Tumblr media
I know the running joke of Stede effortlessly being the most objectively romantic human on planet earth by sheer accident is hilarious. But did you ever notice that when Stede is actually trying to be loving on purpose, Ed Doesn’t Get it?
We can assume Stede started the ritual of them eating breakfast together cause it’s his quarters, and the intimacy of that clearly went right over Ed’s head cause he let Jack invade it without a second thought. Like Ed, honey, did the implications of a man wanting to eat breakfast with you and only you every single day seriously never register to you??
Stede plans a whole day together “treasure hunting” when he wants Ed to stay. The whole “you wear fine things well” business was pure oblivion on Stede’s part, this is him flirting. And he’s trying so hilariously hard to make this ridiculous idea work, but Ed still doesn’t get the gist. Luckily Lucius I-need-a-fucking-raise- Spriggs is here to save the day and clue Ed in to what at least this particular situation means.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…Which makes the gears clearly turning in Ed’s head during this moment absolutely precious and hilarious. Now he knows what’s going on. He sees that Stede’s excited to spend time with him in particular just like Saint Augustine, I mean a bunch more people will be also there this time, but still! And I’m sorry but the brief look of pure “Ed Exe has stopped working” when apparently the first thing Stede could think of was swimming is criminally underrated.
Tumblr media
And look at that fond little smile it turns into, Ed knows full well that man has some cute little swim costume squirreled away somewhere ready to go after pulling an entire safari outfit out of his ass last episode 😂
Ok ok enough teasing Ed, back to the point.
We know Ed’s love language is physical touch. Stede’s is less talked about but I firmly believe his is quality time. Just like Ed is touch starved, Stede is shown to desperately want someone to spend time with. But that’s not just the way he receives love, it’s how he gives love too.
Tumblr media
His way of saying I love you is to say “That’s me.” He’s the one who breaks the lock on his own bathroom door. He’ll be the one to show up at Ed’s restaurant and look at all the little Knick knacks in his gift shop on a slow day. Stede wants to be the one who’s there, who makes sure Ed doesn’t have to cry by himself, or feel silly about something he loves and put a lot of work into. He doesn’t ever want someone so deeply precious to him feeling as unwanted and isolated as he did back in Barabados.
Tumblr media
And Ed ends up missing so many of these intentional gestures. Which isn’t a BAD thing, I just love all the little intricacies of two people with completely different love languages somehow making it work anyway. I think that’s part of why the bathtub scene felt so profoundly intimate, because their love languages work seamlessly together and they end up emotionally on the same page.

Hello Elysian!
Can you share with me what placements indicate having good intuition?
Thankyou!
Good intuition in the chart
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🟫This concept is closely linked to water houses and signs, in general many people tend to immediately mention any of these. People who have placements in Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces usually have this ability to know what is happening around them and what is happening to the people around them.
🟤Scorpio [who is usually the most mentioned] usually has that facility to discover everything that is hidden or sense when things are not going well or there is something off regarding someone or a specific situation.
🟤Pisces have a facility for feeling and seeing what is not clear or easily perceptible, their intuition helps them to decipher what seems to be meaningless.
🟤Cancer is not usually mentioned, but its intuition is very underrated, it is undoubtedly a sign with a real ability to sense what other people feel, what they are up to and what they need.
🟫The strongest placements would be water suns, moons, risings and mercuries.
🟤4th house, 8th house and 12th house have that ability to see beyond the obvious, to understand how the people around them work or operate. Their intuition is highly developed and they always manage to know the true core of an event, the people or their motivations.
🟤Moon in the 4th, 8th, 12th house. They are very sensitive to other people's vibes, so they are more selective of who they surround themselves with. These people read others with ease, they understand them both individually and as a broad group of people. They know what is happening without you saying a single word to them, because in addition to sensing things they are also very observant.
🟤Neptune in the 4th, 8th, 12th house. Intuition is greatly enhanced with this placement, since from an early age the native can find themselves in situations in which they simply knew what was going to happen or in which in some inexplicable way they knew how a certain situation was going to end. It gives a powerful, accurate and spontaneous intuition, because even if they have no indication that something is going to happen, they simply know that it will happen.
🟤Pluto in the 4th, 8th, 12th house. Strong power of intuition and deduction. These people know what is up to every person in the room, it is very difficult to lie to them or deceive them because they are so alert, they quickly intuit when something is off. Their intuition is based more on observation and facts, since they pay close attention to everything around them. Hidden things aren’t that hidden through the eyes of these natives.
🟫The next thing we can mention are planets closely related to intuition, these being Moon, Neptune or Pluto.
🟤Having Pluto, Neptune or Moon as a dominant planet makes the person know things, this being more noticeable in the dominant Moon or Neptune, since the dominant Pluto tend to intuit things by subtle behaviors that someone seems to have.
🟤Moon-Neptune/Pluto aspects, especially conjunction and trine makes the native feel things easily. They can accurately perceive the vibes of other people, their intentions and can easily intuit what causes the discomfort of others. They have a very strong connection to their subconscious and can understand it better than other people. They seem to just know what's going on without having any logical explanation of how.
🟤Moon in the 7th house. They are people whose intuition is based on empathy, because they have that facility to understand and predict the attitudes of other people. They are perceptive with other people, their points of view, core or feelings.
🟤Neptune or Pluto in the 1st house. These natives are very aware of their abilities and the certainty of their intuition, it is a skill that they develop over time. They are particularly good at intuiting what someone's true personality is, as well as feeling the outcome of a situation with certainty.
🟤Neptune or Pluto in the 7th house. Their intuition is very strong but on many occasions they do not realize how accurate it is. They may doubt their abilities a bit because of the insecurity that these are just their nerves, but the reality is that their intuition is very accurate.
🟤Neptune or Pluto aspecting South Node, especially conjunction, trine or opposition. These people may have highly developed intuition from past lives. Clairvoyance and having visions is very likely with this aspect. They tend to be people with a strong intuition that improves over time [since it also aspects with North Node].
🟫Rulers of the houses in the houses: Ruler of the 1st in the 8th or vice versa. Ruler of the 3rd in the 8th or vice versa. Ruler of the 8th in the 8th. Ruler of the 12th in the 8th or vice versa. Ruler of the 8th in the 4th. Ruler of the 12th in the 1st or vice versa.
🟫Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in the 4th, 8th or 12th house. When we find the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, many can be scared or demotivated, when the reality is that it speaks to us of the ability to master the issues of the house in which the conjunction is located. If this conjunction is in water houses, it is very likely that the person has a wise, strong and very accurate intuition. This aspect is linked to luck and success.
🟫Jupiter conjunct, trine, sextile, quintile or bi-quintile Neptune. This is a more direct meaning, and it is that Jupiter tells us about expansion, so any of these contacts with Neptune, a planet linked to intuition, makes the intuition enhanced. If the aspect is trine or quintile/bi-quintile it can manifest as a born talent.

Mercury is such an underrated planet. It literally shows under which lens we process information and communicate ourselves as well as what our mind is constantly focused on, and since we use our minds and communicate all the time, this planet really plays out in your personality a lot more than you think
Speaking of, the two mercurial signs (Gemini and Virgo) represent two types of communication:
Gemini -> is all about collecting and exploring information and ideas. Rules oral speech or spoken communication that is much more spontaneous and open to variations, casual/informal language
Virgo -> is all about organizing and classifying information. Rules written communication and grammar which is more deliberate and nuanced and sets the standard for an adequate expression
Scorpio Sun/Moon women are usually very extroverted or outspoken, they're usually not afraid to speak their mind at all
Is it just me or Cancer Sun women ALWAYS embody the Cancer stereotype 😭 Like they really take pride (Sun) in being vulnerable, caring and emotionally driven or somewhat emo (Cancer)
Venus/Mars in the 2nd house people aren't really wealthy from what I've seen. Yes they are hustlers and do attract money easily but they're also big spenders so they're really not good at budgeting and actually struggle with long-term wealth. I've seen many people with this placement struggling financially or barely surviving day by day not because they don't have money but because they don't know how to spent it and forget that they have to set some money aside to pay bills.
With that being said, that's why I've seen 8th housers/Plutonians (including Pluto in the 2nd house) being far more wealthy and powerful than Venusians/2nd housers because 2nd house is about making money to obtain your own resources but 8th house is all about making money by knowing how to invest your resources and assets. That's why it's always Scorpio/8th house placements who have their own business
I’m on a mission to understand why there’s so much Venusian influence in the charts of philosophers: Taurus and Libra placements (specially Taurus Moon) including Venus influence in the MC
I haven't met a single Cardinal Mars that wasn't super workaholic
Leo North Node people need to learn to be more courageous in this lifetime and be brave enough to stand out. They have a tendency to be kinda cowardly and conform to peer pressure
When underdeveloped, people with Sun in the 12th house or Sun-Neptune aspects or Neptune in the 5th house actually have a HUGE ego and literally put themselves in a pedestal. Because they don’t have a solid sense of self they end up sustaining their identity on a very idolized image of themselves, and because they feel misunderstood they end up thinking they are more elevated or special. They usually feel very entitled to status because of this
Aries Lilith people are so petty and passive aggressive for no reason... Females with this placement live in a constant competition with other women and easily feel threatened by other women
Leo Mercury won't hesitate to interrupt or change topics in a conversation if they don't care what you're talking about
To be honest, people with Neptune in an earth sign/house are better off with having their own business or being their own boss bc people that they work for/work with tent to deceive them or exploit them and they most likely have being victim of fraud at some point of their life (they could fraud others too). Another reason why I think this is a good placement for entrepreneurs it's bc these natives have the ability to materialize (earth) what they imagine (Neptune)
Sagittarius Moons really are blind to/don't care about social norms and politeness. On one hand this can make them effortlessly funny and chill but other times they often come across as entitled assholes
Leo Moons 🤝 gatekeeping. The way they claim things genuinely makes it feel like ITS JUST THEIRS
People with Neptune in the 1st house usually come across as dumb, impressionable or gullible to others, this 'dumb blonde' image sort of like Cat from Victorious or Phoebe from Friends. Even when they proof to be very smart, they are never seen as particularly intellectual and women with this placement are seen as trophy wives. These natives are treated like they’re just a Barbie doll sitting there 😃🧍🏽‍♀️
Even though Virgo rules protocol (following stablished rules), I've seen that Virgo placements particularly Virgo Mars like doing things THEIR OWN way because they are very confident they know how to do it better. They don't mind breaking or adjusting some rules if they genuinely believe that their way of doing something is better
Aquarius are known to be trend-setters, but it's actually Aries placements who people are always trying to copy
Natives with Taurus/Venus/Ceres in the 4th house or their 4th house ruler falling in Taurus/2nd house probably grew up in the suburbs, a village, a farm, the outskirts of town or surrounded by nature or far from the big city.
Any sort of Neptune/Pisces/12th house influence in the 4th house is giving Bruno from Encanto. These natives often have very big families that are present in their lives but they still feel very distant from them in some way, they secretly felt very alienated growing up like they were almost a invisible or they feel like their family doesn't really know who they are. I've noticed many times these natives usually follow a very different path and their family ends up idolizing them for it, they basically become a 'legend' or something 'otherworldly' compared to the rest of their family
I just have to point out how earth mercuries are the BEST writers. They are so good at picking up beautiful details and choosing just the right words to illustrate something. I have seen so many poets, song-writters and novelist with this placement it's amazing
This won't apply to everyone but the people I've seen with mayor Capricorn, Scorpio and Pisces energy in their chart (either through house, planet or sign) always ended up really needing psychological help for some reason.
^^Another thing I've noticed in people with mayor Capricorn, Scorpio and Pisces energy is that they are the most prone to getting themselves into really shady business like getting involved with/attracting the wrong people or even having experiences with dark entities
Virgo Moons are the definition of understanding the assignment
Earth signs in the big 3 🤝 self-earned success
Gemini placements 🤝 talking back/having the last word
I’ve actually noticed that Scorpio/8th house Mercury actually LOVE it when you ask them questions specially if you're asking them for advice or their opinion. Doesn’t mean they will spill their guts (they definitely won’t), but they really like it when others trust them to dive into any sort of conversation and they like it when you trust them with your problems and insecurities. I swear if you wanna catch the attention of these natives just say “can I ask/tell you something?” in a very confidential tone and they will often reply with “oh yes please you can tell me ANYTHING”
Tumblr media
Women with Moon opposite/square Venus have a very complicated relationship with motherhood. They may not want kids but if they do, two things can happen when they have them: First scenario is they become the type of woman that loses herself in motherhood (Moon) and feels guilty for taking care of herself and indulging (Venus), in which case they could guilty-trip their children, "I gave myself up to take care of you" sort of thing (underdeveloped Moon energy). Second scenario is she doesn’t want to give up her self-care and ends up becoming a neglectful mother, she will love her kids and give them all they want (Venus) but she's not nurturing (Moon), in such cases the mother is superficial and treats the child as a possession (underdeveloped Venus energy). I've very often seen that in both cases women with this aspect end up taking the role of an older sister/friend rather than a mother to their children and they may have also had trouble conceiving
One time I was ranting to my friend about how much I hate septum piercings because “why would you wanna look like a bull or sum ox??” and right on that second I realized: Taurus placements💡
I've seen so many Taurus Suns who are atheists. They're so focused on grounded reality that they find it hard (almost absurd) to believe in a transcendental reality or if they believe in it they think it's not possible to reach it. They seem to be hyper-aware that the only moving force of life is nature itself and nothing more
One last note on Taurus placements, they're usually not the type to cut people off easily, but I've actually noticed there are two main reasons why they would actually cut you off:
1) if you bring drama and too much trouble into their life. They are patient to a fault and can keep the wrong people around them for a bit too long but when you break their patience it's genuinely OVER for you and they won't look back. They're Venusian after all so what they really want is to chill and have peace around them
2) if you bring any form of change or newness into their life. Taurus placements like things staying the same bc it gives them sense of peace and stability, so they will run away from anyone who challenges this or wants to change their perspective of things in some way. It's like they want to stay in their own bubble and will not want anyone to burst it in any way.
Aries placements are hit or miss. They are either emotionally immature, selfish and superficial or the most chill, LOYAL and overall the most elite people to have in your life
Every single time North Node has transited Taurus there has been an economic crisis of some sort or issues with resources and nature. We're seeing it right now or for example this this transit also took place during the the Great Depression
I've noticed Gemini Mars folks are bad bitches like wow they really don't play
I've seen many people with Neptune in the 7th house being quite selfish and not the most empathetic tbh. If underdeveloped they could have a tendency to alienate or depersonalize others because they see them as some sort of caricatures
Air moons or Moon in an air house had mothers/families that never made a big deal out of their emotional issues or needs, they may have been like "I'll just get you a therapist and problem solved you'll see" or "it's okay don't worry we'll just do this and you'll be fine", etc. That's why these natives tend to rationalize their emotions
I have to say that Moon in the 4th house are some of the most emotionally intelligent people I've ever met but please you guys need to leave the past in the past 😭 These natives have a tendency to ruminate a little TOO much to the point where is damaging their emotional well-being and personal development
Cancer risings deep down think of themselves as smarter due to Gemini in their 12th house. They are open to hearing new ideas and perspectives but ultimately they believe they have the last word
I've noticed this pattern in Scorpio/8th house Mars where they have this strong tendency to be incredibly invasive and can easily walk all over your boundaries. They’re the type to really rush relationships or eat half of your food when you offered them just a bite (lol dumb example but you get the idea)
Natives with South Node in an earth sign (specially Taurus and Capricorn) are the most likely to get caught up in hustle culture. In this lifetime they might be forced to sacrifice their ambitions in some way to focus more on their own sanity, fulfillment and emotional well-being
Libra placements 🤝 being homosexual, being called homosexual by others or toying with homosexuality
Mutable risings 🤝 self-deception and self-gaslight, can easily convince themselves of whatever and believe their own lies
Honestly, never underestimate water mars people (water sign/house). They are very sneaky when facing problems and never come forward with their real intentions so they’re the type to show results and surprise everyone with their achievements. I've noticed that when they set a goal instead of pursuing it directly themselves they manipulate the situation and work bts until things fall into place for them. You’ll never see them fail because they just sneak away as soon as they realize they can’t win and they will be very good at hiding when they’re struggling
Aquarius placements seriously don't get enough credit for how psychic they can be actually! Most people that I've seen that had a talent to accurately predict the future had Aquarius placements (namely sun/moon/mercury), they really are ahead of their time
This may sound super obvious but I've noticed that my fave people to follow on social media always have their personal planets falling in my 11th house
Neptune/Pisces in the angels 🤝 seeing themselves as the main character and seeing their life as a movie or sum to cope with the fact that they feel out of control of their life/themselves. These natives are the best story-tellers imo bc they romanticize their life so much that they will describe even the most boring and mundane shit like it's the scene of a movie (they be reaching sometimes with the things they say but hey at least it's entertaining)
Chiron can also represent how we hurt others the most by projecting our deepest hurts and insecurities
People with Moon in the 5th/4th house have fixation with children and usually want to be parents with all their heart. On the other hand I've noticed natives with Sun in the 5th/4th house are not that fond of the idea of having children because they want to continue being a child themselves, but if they want kids they may like the idea of being the cool or fun parent
I’ve noticed that saturnian influence on the Moon is far more emotionally devastating than plutonic influence. I don’t mean to minimize Pluto’s power at all, but let’s not forget that this planet rules death and rebirth so when Pluto is influencing the moon emotional pain will be intense but the person comes out of it renewed. Saturn on the other hand rules permanence and Saturn brings that type of emotional pain that you never really get over you just learn to live with it overtime
Aquarius Sun+Capricorn Venus combo how does it feel to be the cool and popular kid?

Groot’s many backstories
Tumblr media
So earlier I saw this post by @alastorgould where he over some of the many versions of Rocket’s backstories, eventually writing his own take on it that combined elements of all of them. It’s a pretty good summary of Rocket’s past and it’s many incarnations in the comics, cartoons and MCU etc and I highly recommend you check it out along with his rocket and halfworld related art/fics.
Anyway, It inspired to make my own post going over some of the backstories/incarnations of my personal favourite gotg character: Groot. Because A) as mentioned, he’s my fave, and imo one of the more underrated Guardians members out of the core 5, and B) Groot actually has quite a few takes on his backstory already through not only multiple retcons in the 616 comics continuity but also through several multi-media adaptations of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. And I thought it would be fun to share some of them with you all.
Obviously, this isn’t gonna cover every single piece of media Groot has been in/has had his backstory mentioned etc. But I did my research and tried my best to cover a good chunk of the most notable continuities and adaptations.
Also, I haven’t read the entirety of every comic Groot is in ever (I.E. the latest gotg Grootfall/Grootrise story arc) so forgive me if I get a few details wrong. If there are any die hard gotg/Groot comic readers out there, feel free to politely and respectfully correct me on a few things.
The Comics
In the main marvel 616 comics there have been at least 3 different versions of Groot’s backstory and origins. 4 if you count his very first incarnation…
Tales to astonish #13 (+ other King Groot appearances)
Tumblr media
King Groot is the giant tree like ruler of Planet-X, and an alien invader who lands on earth to kidnap the humans from a small town in order to take them back to his home planet and experiment on them. Conventional weapons used by the towns military don’t work as this groot is immune to fire and explosives. But thanks to the quick thinking of protagonist human scientist Leslie Evens, king groot is taken down by genetically bred super termites. He seemingly dies in this story but later makes appearances in comics like the Howling Commandos, aiding the team. Most commonly being seen as an inhabitant of Monster Isle. There was a time where it was thought the groot on the guardians of the galaxy was the same groot as king groot (mainly the annihilation: conquest series), but this was later retconned as a different Groot impersonating King Groot. Which brings us to…
Guardians of the Galaxy #14 (2013)/Annihilators #1 and 2 (2012)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Groot was a flora colossus sapling who along with his fellow saplings (also all called groot) were looked after by a group of elder flora colossus called the Arbor Masters. This groot was different from the others as he often brefirended the maintenance mammals; small intelligent mammal like beings who most other flora colossus looked down on as inferior. One day, another group of flora colossai were bulling a squirrel-like maintenance mammal and groot steps in to defend it. After one of the more violent flora colossus nearly kills the mammal, groot snaps and tears the other colossus apart. Presumably killing him. This catches the attention of the Arbor masters, who then have groot banished from the planet via a space ship.
This groot would later go on to impersonate king Groot and join the team that would become the Guardians of the galaxy, in Annihilation Conquest: Starlord #1, where he’d first meet his teammate and future bff Rocket Raccoon. The way he was written in annihilation conquest made it seem like he was the same character as King Groot, but this was later retconned in Annihilators #1 and 2 as well as Guardians of the Galaxy #14.
Groot vol.1 (2015)
Tumblr media
My personal favourite comic origin for groot. (Also literally the best version of Groot in any media ever dont @ me)
Groot is born on Planet X, where the flora colossus are towering giants who regularly kidnap beings from other planets to preform experiments on them. Groot is disturbed and appalled by the actions of his people but feels powerless to do anything… until one night where he discovers a little human girl, Hannah, being held prisoner in one of the holding pods and decides to help her escape.
After teleporting Hannah away back to Earth, Groot remains behind and destroys the teleportation pad, presumably cutting the flora colossus off from earth, and he is banished by his elders. Groot then wanders the universe for a while, taking in all its wonders and sights, before being thrown in a kree prison where he meets Rocket for the first time. Rocket can’t understand Groot at first, but over the course of months sharing a cell with him, does. After this the two form a fast friendship and break out of prison, becoming bounty hunters/criminals and eventually joining the Guardians.
Groot vol.2 (2023)
Tumblr media
One of the most recent and drastically different origins presented in the comics so far.
In this miniseries, Planet-X is a lush forest covered planet and the flora colossus, unlike the other comic origins, are a benevolent and peaceful race of sentient plants ruled over by a giant matriarch tree called Granopy. She looks after and tells stories to a child groot and his two friends Tweeg and Gleef.
One day their forest gets burnt by a gang of mercenaries known as The Spoilers, led by an evil Flora colossus named Agz, and the three get kidnapped. But are freed by a young Mar-vel. Together the four of them, along with an Alpha Centurion hunter called Yondar, fight against the Spoilers and save Planet X. As of writing this, the Grootfall/grootrise arc, which references this miniseries, has only just wrapped up. So It’s not clear if this story is supposed to be a prequel to the 2015 Groot origin or if it’s a full on retcon of it. (Im gonna assume the latter, given how different Flora Colossai are in this compared to the previous origins. Unless Flora Collossus society/planet X as a whole really went down hill after Groot grew up, somehow going from the peaceful forest utopia we see in vol. 2 to the desolate wasteland ruled by an evil king groot in tales to astonish/groot number 6 but I digress) so it’s up in the air for now if/how they connect to each-other…
Origins in other media
As a Marvel multi-media franchise, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and by extension Groot, have had a number of different adaptations and interpretations across various non-comic book mediums including movies, games, tv shows etc. so let’s take a look at four of the most famous ones.
MCU
Tumblr media
Weirdly enough, despite this version of Groot (and his son Groot ii aka baby groot) being the most widely known by general audiences thanks to the popularity of the MCU, MCU Groot is the most mysterious when it comes to his origin story. We never get any implications or mentions of it in the entire gotg franchise (outside of a mention of Planet X in the nova police lineup scene in vol.1). The closest we get is an idea James Gunn had planned for a short film about how Groot and Rocket met and a few very brief mentions about it in interviews. In the tweet about the short film idea, James explains Groot was caged up at an intergalactic zoo housing exotic alien creatures and was treated like an animal. Until a worker at the zoo, a robot/cyborg named Tibus Lark, became attached to Groot and helped him escape, becoming his closest friend. Until they found themselves in a hole/prison where Lark and groot would meet Rocket. Being mortally injured, Tibus would explain his and Groot’s story to Rocket before entrusting Groot with Rocket and dying. Rocket would then use the robotic parts of Lark’s body to build his big gun seen in the first gotg and break out of the pit with Groot. Beginning their criminal partnership and (dysfunctional) friendship.
Gotg Disney XD cartoon season 1
Tumblr media
In the Disney XD cartoon, Groot grew up on an idyllic and serene Planet X ruled by his father(?), both coming from a long line of flora colossus spanning billions of years who, along with all life on Planet X, all grew from an object known as the world pod. A source of power that exists within groot. Shortly after a day of battle training with his father, the Kree and their leader Ronan invade the planet to mine it of its resources. Dispute the protest of its natives, the planet is burnt to ashes, leaving groot the lone survivor. He’s then taken by the kree and experimented on, along with other kidnapped Earth animals. This is where he meets a newly anthro-ified Rocket, and the two break out together and eventually join the guardians.
Gotg Telltale Game
Like the MCU version, we unfortunately don’t get a look into his backstory, but what we do know from the alternate story path where Rocket stays with Quill and Groot goes with Mantis when the team break up is he is the last of his kind and empathises with mantis greatly because of it.
Gotg Eidos Game
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Through conversations with Groot (with Rocket, and later in the game Mantis, translating for Quill), and a few parts of rocket’s conversations, we learn that Groot’s father was the king of Taluhnia (the original native name of Planet X) as well as the other branch worlds. Groot himself wanted to be a forest caretaker so he could care for the plants of Taluhina. In contrast, his father and the arbor masters were corrupt and favoured the needs of the few over the many, and enslaved the sapient animals on Taluhnia. With some saplings even hurting these mammals for fun. Groot however, preferred thier company over the others of his kind due to how nice and smart they were, comparing them to rocket in his convo with Quill and Mantis.
Unfortunately, however, they along with the rest of Taluhnia, would perish after the Chitari would test an experimental doomsday device on the planet. After the planets destruction, the other branch worlds would mobilise an attack, but they were no match for the Chitari and were destroyed as well. Fortunately, groot was able to regrow himself into a smaller sapling form. Making him, as far as he knows, the only survivor. In his smaller form, he would eventually be sold to the collector, but would later be stolen by rocket who raided the whole place while drunk. It’s kind of a mix of the maintenance mammal stuff from the gotg issue 14 story and the general flora Collossus are corrupt stuff from that and groot issue 6, with the alien race wipe out the flora colossus part from the cartoon (though swapping out the Kree for the Chitari this time).
…And that’s it for the most famous Groot origins! Again, this doesn’t include every incarnation of Groot ever, but I think I covered my bases with the most notable continuities. Maybe I’ll have a go at writing my own take on the origin at some point, but for now, I just hope you all enjoyed learning about Groot’s different pasts as much as I did researching them…
Also let me know if there are other, more obscure versions of Groot and his backstory I missed here. I’m always down to learning more Groot lore.

TAG GAME: EIGHT SHOWS TO GET TO KNOW ME
Tagged by @santabarbara-skies, aaayyyy! I hardly get tagged so yaaaaaay!
Also this is kind of hard, but I’ll try (and like Em, I’m adding explanations, sort-of-kind-of, but not fancy formatting because I’m lazy).
The West Wing. Still my all-time favorite. Is it idealistic? Sure. Is it preachy sometimes? Yeah. But does it make my bleeding liberal heart glow and hopeful? You bet. Do I want to hug a pillow whenever someone says, “A guy falls in a hole...” or “What’s next?” or “Babies come with hats.” or “He loves teams, I love him so much” or almost-anything-CJ-or-Sam-says? Almost always. So, yeah, it’ll always top my list.
Tumblr media
Psych. Burton Guster, my beloved. I started this show for two reasons: Dule Hill was in it and I just finished the West Wing and needed to keep that connection going; and it a Sherlock Holmes adaptation-sort-of, and I am basically on board for almost anything that is loosely modeled on Holmes. But I stayed for, oh, god, all of it. The two idiots at the center of it all, for Shawn and Juliet, for Lassie, for the bond between Lassie and Juliet, for everything. It is just an absolute delight, come on, son, jerk chicken, Pluto, suck it, meeeeeee, incarcerated in a blueberry, TT Showbiz, MC ClapYoHandz, I would rather fill-in-the-blank, pineapples, Banana as in Bananarama, you know that’s right.
Tumblr media
Friends. Another one that’s definitely dated and contains plenty of sexist, fatphobic, homophobic, and other problematic content. But I have a huge soft spot for this show and would still be one of my desert island shows, if not my #1 desert island show, because it makes me laugh every. single. time. It’s not my favorite show, but it’s the one that makes me feel the most, I don’t know...home? Like I’m going back to this place that isn’t perfect, but somewhere I grew up and so it means a lot to me. And a lot of it really is still funny and adorable and heartwarming, you know?
Tumblr media
Ripper Street. Another one that has Sherlock Holmes vibes, but also includes my favorite handsome man, Matthew Macfadyen. Plus, period drama goodness, with an excellent cast overall, great acting, good writing, and a great ending that’s bittersweet but fitting and satisfying. The character arcs are just fabulous. There are lots of hats and vests. And dry dark humor. And moments that will break your heart to pieces. But others that will give you life. Probably one of the most underrated shows on this whole list, if not the most underrated. Plus the fandom is (still) lovely. Seriously one of the nicest, best fandoms I’ve ever been a part of.
Tumblr media
House MD. The one that started it all for me, and by “it all” I mean my leap into internet fandom communities. So it’s quite special to me. I was one of the only House/Stacy fans on the planet, I think, but that’s how it goes. And more importantly: the friends I made because of this show! The fics I wrote! (Eden in particular, still one of my favorites I’ve ever written for any fandom.) The fics I read! Plus the show itself is my cup of tea, being yet another Sherlock Holmes-esque (Holmes--Homes--House) story on this list. Hugh Laurie just kills it every damn time (although, much like Macfadyen, I just...can’t get used to and actually really hate his American voice/accent, just no, please stop, please just speak in your normal voice, please). The only downside is that it doesn’t have a ton of rewatch value for me, but maybe one day I’ll get back to it again.
Tumblr media
Black Sails. Another awesome period drama that was/is criminally underrated and under-watched. This. Show. Y’all. If you haven’t seen it, just see it. It’s got everything. The characters, so deliciously flawed but sympathetic and layered! Jack my favorite sassy ratboi captain. Flint, everyone’s favorite murder husband. Tits! Fruit! Oh, the production value is gorgeous, the ladies are badass, and it’s just a romp. Watch it.
Tumblr media
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. Heeeey, another period piece, dramedy this time, though. And one of the more female-centric shows on my list. It’s hilarious, plain and simple. Jewish culture is everywhere in it, which I adore and appreciate. Tony Shalhoub as Abe Weissman and Alex Borstein as Susie Myerson are nothing short of brilliant in it. I love Lenny, but only because I love historical shows that weave in real people (I’m not a Lenny/Midge fan, sorry; I was rooting for Benjamin, even though I didn’t think it would pan out). I can’t wait to see how the series ends. I’ve loved every minute of it.
Tumblr media
The Mindy Project. My guilty pleasure show, and I shouldn’t feel that guilty about it. A show about a successful doctor who struggles to find love and herself in the big city? Yes, please. It’s sweet. It’s absolutely hilarious. Mindy Kaling is so relatable sometimes it hurts (in a good way). I wish I had her entire wardrobe, it’s amazing. Even the supporting cast is adorable and endearing and you just want to hug all of them and tell them they’re doing great, sweeties. It’s a super-sweet pick-me-up show, just a joy.
Tumblr media
And I tag...whoever. Here are a couple: @houseocats @olivelune @scienceoftheidiot @deelaundry @hondagirll

im so fucking happy for you that you had such a great time and i would honestly love to hear more about it - 🐸
Omgggg you are so so sweet 🥹🥹🩷🩷 gosh I’m already emotional as it is now I’m gonna cry hahaha. Just filled with love and appreciation for this fandom tbh. Y’all are wonderful. I love you.
Ok this is gonna be sooo sappy and sooo sentimental and silly so I would 10000% not be mad if you were kinda judging me. I think I’d be judging me if I were you.
It was so so so so good. The energy in the room was phenomenal. The crowd was great I think. Not a lot of people stiffly standing and filming the whole show. I would say most of the front half of the pit only filmed a few bits but was dancing and singing along the majority of the time.
Matty and Ross know I exist 🥹🥹🥹 they interacted with me and laughed when I was in complete and utter shockkkkk. I blew matty a kiss and he reciprocated (he also sent kisses to other fans in the crowd like it wasn’t just me. I’m delusional but not THAT delusional hahaha). He made fun of me. And when I gestured for him to take his shirt off during “maybe I would like you better if you took off your clothes” he stubbornly said no so I pretended to be mad and he did a little bow.
The songs were phenomenal. Great mix of greatest hits/ classics and some underrated / lesser known stuff.
There’s just….something about the boys. Like sure live music in general is a great vibe and it makes me emotional snd excited and stuff. So, when Dora Jar performed the opening act (guys check her out she’s amazing) I was still dancing along and having fun. Cuz good music is good. But when the boys came on??? ABSOLUTELY SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE. Something about singing the same words as them. At the same time as them. Looking directly into their eyes and having them look back at you….this is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever said in my entire life but it felt like home. Like we were all there together and it was the safest place on the planet. Like everyone believed in every single word that they were screaming out. You could totally see that these 4 boys absolutely love their jobs. They radiate joy and fun.
Polly is a fuckin Angel for JC2005 and John Waugh (my REAL crush, sorry matty) was sooo phenomenal I had a hard time looking him in the eyes without blushing.
I really really didn’t want it to end. Like when it was time to leave the venue I was sad.
But really it’s the fans. People who’ve seen the boys before were like hyping up those of us who have never been to a 75 gig before. And like the line leader girlie was so so sweet she kept checking in whenever a fav song of mine that I told her about before was performed or something. And the people in front of us were so so nice and cheerful. The whole vibe was just perfect.
Oh and Matty is even more beautiful in person (though teenyyyy tinyyyy) than he is in pictures and I really didn’t think it’d be possible.
I’m still like bursting into tears any time I think about the show or you guys. Or the boys. Or how lucky I am to have all of it. Just soooo full and happy and inspired and grateful

Treasure Planet: a way underrated Disney movie [critic]
Hi, hello, it’s me again, rambling about a movie like I’m working for the Nostalgia Critic instead of writing next chapter or actually do my work. What can I say, I love to ramble on obscure subjects (but since at least once person enjoyed the critic I wrote on The Witcher: Blood origin I solely did to improve my writing skills, I guess it’s okay lmao) Love you and stay hydrated ♥
Time to analyze and bring justice to Treasure Planet
There are some movies that leave a mark on you, that you’ll always remember of through your life. It isn’t necessarily a good, Oscar-winning movie, or a mindblowing work, but it is an unpriceable memory to you, and that’s why it is one of your favorite movies ever. That’s how I feel about Disney’s Treasure Planet.
First thing first, I’d like to highlight an important aspect about this critic: Treasure Planet is the first movie I’ve ever seen in theaters. I was 3 years old, and seeing those incredible images of space and stars up on a big screen through my child’s eyes definitely did something to me (cue my tattoos of moon and sun I guess). So what I’m trying to say is, that even if I’ll be doing my best to make an objective critic, it definitely won’t be one. I love this movie so freaking much, do not try to stop the fangirl screaming in me. I watched it again recently with my brother, and even if I know it like the back of my hand, I couldn’t believe that a lot of people still think poorly of this movie.
That being said, let’s move on to the main subject: in what way is Treasure Planet an underrated movie? I’ll be trying to analyze why it failed to be a new success for the Disney company at a time of many mildly successful productions, and carry on about why we all should appreciate it more with a new eye, for it brought many great things.
First, let’s talk about the context of this movie’s release. In 2002, Disney wasn't in its golden nor silver age anymore. The last original movie – meaning, that isn’t a prequel or sequel of a previous franchise – was Atlantis in 2001 and Kuzco in 2000 (I’m not including Monsters Inc., given it was a Pixar co-production). The first wasn’t exactly a financial success (although it is also one of my favorite Disney ever, what can I say, I like the unloved ones), and the latter, even if I still think it’s one of the most hilarious movies they ever made, was not a great movie. So when Treasure Planet launched and turned out to be a critical business failure – 109 578 115 $ at the box-office for a 140 000 000 $ budget, and if you’re wondering, yes it is indeed a big failure – nobody ever talked about it again. The failure is even greater given not a single Disney Park has an attraction on this theme – but we’ll talk about this later. Now, not many people actually know that this movie ever existed.
Now that we have a little more context, let’s go even deeper and see the different elements that lead to this catastrophic failure within the movie. It’s important to remember that I’m not an expert either in movies analysis or the Disney company, there’s a lot of things I don’t know or don’t have any numbers to prove what I’m saying. I’m simply here to ramble and list things that seem important to me, and I’m making a hella lot of assumptions.
Given the general context of the movie release, I think that what wounded its reputation the most is the 3D used. It is – if I’m not mistaken, and I probably am – one of the first Disney animated movies that uses so much 3D. And let’s be honest…it aged badly. I’m not bad mouthing anybody’s work, I appreciate the fact that Disney tried something; with every new experiment, there have to be some clumsy first try, and yeah, we could say that Treasure Planet was this one. But remember, the movie came out in 2002: a year before, Dreamworks leveled up the 3D game by releasing Shrek, and next to it the 3D view in Treasure Planet looks cheap. The idea was interesting, the view in a gradual zoom on the moon-turning-to-be-an-harbor was really a good idea; but the messy outcome of the visual cost a lot more to the movie’s reputation.
Another thing that may have contributed to the movie’s unsuccess could be the lack of “typical” Disney elements. I’m here talking about things such as a romantic interest for the main character, a princess/royalty character, or catchy musical moments sung by characters. If we look at the Disney animated movies that had been released around the same time, it was all movies and/or sequels about princesses (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), or already popular characters (Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, etc.). Choosing to not give a female, princess-like, and popular character was a bold and risky move for Disney; as a result, the story was led by a forgettable character who didn’t leave any mark in people’s minds. Again, I’m talking while trying to be objective, you bet I remember Jim Hawkins; we’re talking about one of my very first fictional crushes here, I’ll take the defense of this amazing character later.
Of course, the story does give a glimpse of a love story, but between two side characters. Not enough for a company who built most of its movies’ success on princesses and true love kisses. The same could be said about the lack of songs; there’s always a tune immediately blasting in your head when someone mentions Disney, the absence of such joyful musical moments certainly wounded Treasure Planet’s reputation. But on the other side, the only song within the movie (I’m not counting the outro) is really deep, and well inserted in the plot. I hardly picture any of the characters, even the main one – especially him – starting to sing their feelings out of the blue. The lack of sung serenades makes sense, but it may have not been appreciated by viewers who expected a full Broadway show.
Finally, the whole aesthetic may have been quite unsettling for most of the viewers. I think the movie came out at an in-between of steampunk glory – after the success of Lovecraft and before the 00’ return of this style’s popularity. Again, I'm a big fan of the whole design; but it was also a bit too daring for the time.
So to sum this up really quickly, I think that Treasure Planet was released too soon. It has the potential to be a bigger success, should it have been released nowadays. Beside the 3D parts that have aged badly, I honestly don’t think this movie’s outdated the slightest. I still think today that the viewers of 2002 weren’t ready for this movie, its story, characters and message. And to defend that, I’ll list the elements that make this movie a brilliant one.
First of all, the whole story inspired by Stevensons’ Treasure Island is a major good point for me. The pirate aesthetic hadn’t come back fully in pop culture yet, and the original story has very interesting material ahead. The source of inspiration was an excellent idea. It also led to the unconventional coming-of-age story; most of the plot in this kind of scenario is about someone who becomes an adult somehow, through an epic quest. They have a good life, but thrive for more, or are the “chosen one” and all. Here, Jim is, admittedly by his mother, a juvenile delinquent. This late teenager is lost in his life, torn apart between his dreams of freedom, and the love he has for his mother. He doesn’t want to let her down, or disappoint her, but he doesn’t know what to do because no one can guide him through what’s possible for him. And as a young adult who had been through such a crisis for 5 solid years (and still not completely out of it let’s be honest), it is an important subject to bring up. It’s not that Jim is lazy or inherently a bad son, he just doesn’t know what to do and what the possibilities are. The cops, the clients of the inn, even the doctor and his mom had categorized him as a good-for-nothing so he’s kind of stuck in this role, all while deeply loving his mother and trying to help her. This internal conflict between what you want to do for your own good and what your heart wants to do to keep your loved ones (especially family) safe and proud of you isn’t completely foreign in a Disney movie; but it is something that is more recurrent in later movies, such as Moana, Tangled and such.
This is a great transition to address the subject of Jim’s family, which is also depicted in a very modern way in my opinion. The fact that he only has his mom in the movie is…painfully classical in a Disney movie (I mean, the no parents policy is basically a private joke in Disney movies now). But it’s one of the first movies where the dad’s absence is clearly and loudly mentioned, either by the characters themselves or through the song. It is also one of rare cases of a parent actually leaving their families; during the song, we see Jim’s dad leaving and never coming back (probably out buying intergalactic milk, I don’t know), but we also see Jim’s mom crying, him being deeply affected by his father’s absence through different phases of his childhood, and more than that, the effect of his dad’s absence is clearly mentioned several times. We don’t know if his father actually died out of space or if he just left Jim and Sarah – although several elements seem to indicate so, such as the fact we never see his face, that Sarah doesn’t have any picture of him in the inn or in her memory-locket-necklace, or that Jim says that he doesn’t miss his dad who’s more like “going away and never coming back”. Parent(s)’s deaths in Disney movies are usually either briefly mentioned as such (Atlantis, Cinderella, etc.) or a means to bring up a more tragic backstory that serves the character’s growth (Tarzan). Here we have a very realistic, bitter case of a father leaving his child and wife for no apparent reason; for a 2002 Disney movie, it is indeed a very modern take at the subject of one parent’s disappearance, especially at how they show the effects on every concerned character.
And this is a very appreciated choice! When Encanto was released almost two years ago, I was thrilled by the serious issues such as intergenerational trauma, gaslighting within a family, and pain caused by neglect of elders someone looks up to. My first thought was “Finally, we can have a Disney movie that addresses very much real family issues, it’s a big step for them.” But then when I re-watched Treasure Planet, I realized that Disney had done that before, almost 20 years ago; and that’s why it’s a great movie. Children aren’t dumb (yes, I’m actually saying this), I do believe we can talk about any subject with them if we use words and concepts they can understand. They’re naive about a lot of things, and it’s natural they’re still kids; but if a kid can watch and understand Ariel wanting legs to seduce the good-looking fellow on the boat, they can understand that sometimes family can take different forms, including a single mother and her sons both struggling on different scales due to a husband and father abandon.
This whole setting also allowed the movie to have a slightly different type of main character. I mentioned it briefly before, but Jim is a more complex character than most of the Disney protagonists of that time - and before. Once again, let’s make something clear about typology: complex doesn't necessarily mean complicated. Jim has a rather easily understandable goal, he wants to find his place, and what to do with his life. But the fact that he’s standing in-between the brashness of late-teenage years and seriousness of young adulthood, probably triggered earlier by his dad’s disappearance, makes him more complex. He’s a morally gray character, who’s sometimes acting like a brat (trespassing several times, getting arrested and such), but who also wants to get things right, especially for his mom. So by complex, I mean that Jim has nuances; much more than traditional Disney protagonists (that is especially true for all of the princesses lore anterior to this movie). There had been some examples of that before of course, with Aladdin and Tarzan for example; Megara in Hercules is loved because she’s witty AND a complex character. But she’s only a side character; in Treasure Planet it is  the protagonist and others who wear those traits (Silver, Jim, even Captain Amelia). It also reminds the turn-over of the team in the second part of Atlantis, when they all realize Rourke had gone too far while not even 10 minutes earlier they were assumed capitalist treasure snatchers regardless of Atlantean culture. So, those two big examples of more complex characters did a good job to prepare the field for their successors (Elsa in Frozen, Flynn Rider in Tangled, even Maui in Moana), but not enough to get the public satisfied enough when they came out.
Jim’s evolution through the movie is also a really interesting one, because it does once again not fit into what I’d call a “traditional” goal in Disney movies. I’d say there are two main categories in there: a romance trope (seduce and/or reunite with the love interest as in Sleeping beauty, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, etc.) or a higher, destiny-boud, epic purpose or quest (Simba avenging his father and claiming his rightful place as the king, Arthur becoming king, Hercules trying to prove he’s a divine hero, Moana saving the ocean, Miguel trying to return to the living’s world and mend some of his families’ feud, Robin Hood fighting against oppression, and on and on). Of course I’m caricaturing things here, but it is indeed quite rare to have, such as in Treasure Planet, a protagonist with a very personal, almost selfish compared to other movies, goal. Sure there’s the Flynt’s treasure hunt, but more than that, the journey is about giving Jim an opportunity to find himself, his place, and his dreams. More importantly, he finds a father/guiding figure in Silver in once again a very subtle way. Jim doesn’t need a new father, he needs someone who listens to him and gives him the tools to choose his destiny himself. That is greatly pictured at the end of the movie when Silver offers Jim to follow him in the pirate way, and Jim declines saying he has his own future now. He doesn’t reject the cyborg’s way of life, for he had learned a lot from it, he simply acknowledged the outcomes of his journey under the guidance of Silver. Through all of their adventures we see on plenty of occasions Silver teaching Jim things, and Jim trying, understanding, and then mixing those things with his own ways to create something greater, more efficient and deeply personal. This is an excellent way of depicting teaching, especially for older or young adult character growth. They are already their own person, they don’t need to be made or inherently changed; but they still need an adjusted guidance to unlock and thrive through their potential. Again, this is a good, nuanced message that the movie aced.
That being said, I’d like to talk again about the overall aesthetic of the movie. I was, and still am in awe in front of the chara-designs and ambience. Creating an animation movie using space aesthetics was brilliant, and it’s a shame there’s still not a lot of movies doing so. I mean, the color palette, patterns and design possibilities are endless, some screenshots of the movie are my favorite of all time. Plus, I really liked the design of some planets, mixing steampunk and a more Alien-like vibe. As for the characters, it’s still funny how we feel like we know what they’re partly inspired by, but at the same time being completely clueless? Like, Captain Amelia is a cat-lady or something? The scary spider-thing man? The whole pirate crew? Each character is an alien for the other and the designs are really funny to watch. And can we please talk about the absolute snack that Jim is? We’re talking about one of my very first fictional crushes here, and I said what I said. The boy is more charming than 90% of the Disney princes who had come before him, I won’t change my mind.
To sum this up, I think that the design team and artists really had fun creating this movie, and that even if the whole aesthetic failed to please the public, it’s still an excellent exercise of style for the artistic direction team.
So now, where does all of that lead to? I’ll try to make a quick conclusion about all of that. Basically I think that this movie was released too soon. The message and execution were great, there were some good ideas, but I don’t think the public was ready or expecting that. Disney needed a new success, and it should have been something like a new Aladdin, or The Little Mermaid; something more traditional they knew would absolutely work. Instead the viewers were disappointed by the new movie and turned their back on a too unconventional movie. Should it have been released ten years after, I’m pretty sure Treasure Planet would have had a better 3D and a better, well-deserved success. And honestly, the fact that some movies with interesting, new designs and plots failed to be popular is a disappointment for both the viewers and Disney itself. For example, Atlantis shares a lot of similarities with Treasure Planet on this subject. Can we stop for a second and imagine what could have happened on a larger scale if both of those movies had been successes? The impact on the way female characters are written, or people of color representation (which Atlantis was a great precursor of)? On how a good animated movie doesn’t necessarily needs a love story or a kiss (Milo and Kida never kiss, nor do they declare their undying love, because they met 3 days ago for fuck’s sake. Yes Cinderella and Snow White, I’m looking at you); or the impact on characters and universes design? Imagine the potential of both of those movie aesthetics for Disney parks attractions? For merch?
In the end, the appreciation of a movie, especially one produced by Disney that we certainly watched as a kid, is deeply personal; the success or lack of at the box-office doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad movie. A dozen parameters are to be accounted for to understand if, and why the movie had been a critical failure, including the general context of movies of the same type at the time, and a more large view of the company and expectations of both the producers and the public. So if one day you’re rewatching a movie you love that hadn’t been exactly welcomed at its time, think about it; maybe it’s a true gem, never understood by critics, maybe it had come out too soon or too late. Maybe some of the movies that are considered the greatest of all time now will never be heard of by our grandchildren. We never know what will be popular in pop-culture in a decade or two; so if you enjoy a movie nobody loves, it’s okay. You like it, no matter what the critics might be right now, it’s a comfort movie of yours. And no one can take that away.
Tumblr media
(aesthetic is myine, I did it some years ago. Thought it was the right time to dig it from the depth of my files!)
If you want to debate about the movie, of movies critic in general do not hesitate to drop by in the comments or in DMs! I love talking with fellow movies nerds ♥

Best Underrated Anime Group K Round 1: #K3 vs #K6
#K3: Space boy crashes onto Earth, learns about living
In the distant future, a majority of humans have left the Earth, and the Galactic Alliance of Humanity is founded to ensure the prosperity of mankind. However, a significant threat arises in the form of creatures called Hideauze, resulting in an interstellar war to prevent humanity’s extinction. Armed with Chamber, an autonomous robot, 16-year-old lieutenant Ledo joins the battle against them, but he loses control during battle and is cast out to the far reaches of space, crash-landing on a waterlogged Earth.
On the blue planet, Gargantia—a large fleet of scavenger ships—comes across Chamber and retrieves it from the ocean, thinking they have salvaged something of value. Mistaking their actions for hostility, Ledo sneaks aboard and takes a young messenger girl named Amy hostage, only to realize that the residents of Gargantia are not as dangerous as he had believed. Faced with uncertainty, and unable to communicate with his comrades in space, Ledo attempts to get his bearings and acclimate to a new lifestyle. But his peaceful days are about to be short-lived, as there is more to this ocean-covered planet than meets the eye.

#K6: Slice of life in the middle of nowhere
Hotaru Ichijou's lifestyle completely changes when she leaves Tokyo and moves with her family to the isolated Asahigaoka village. Her new school has only five students including herself, all sharing a single classroom regardless of grade level. There are no convenience stores in the area, and it can take up to two hours for a bus to arrive.
Nevertheless, Hotaru finds herself captivated by the countryside's charm thanks to her four unique schoolmates with whom she quickly forms a genuine bond. The most colorful of them is Renge Miyauchi, a first-grader who is often perceptive despite her age. However, no less intriguing are the three Koshigaya siblings: the quiet oldest brother Suguru, the petite older sister Komari, and the prankish youngest sister Natsumi.
Having someone from the city join their cheerful little group enlivens the ordinary days in Asahigaoka. Not only does Hotaru bring firsthand knowledge from the alluring outside world, but her fresh outlook on life welcomes a blossom of change to their usual routine.

#K3: Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet (Suisei no Galgantia)
youtube
Propaganda:
I believe that this show should be considered for the running because of what it accomplishes with the character development in the standard 13 episodes. It lays out the uncertainties of life and situations while also having that exist in the backdrop of a massive conflict that would make this seem miniscule. The main character is also exposed to new ideas and concepts that are alien to him and are initially inconceivable, such as empathy and compassion for others. In other words, it is him becoming ‘human’ again. There are also certain aspects of creativity such as how the worldbuilding functions on a world that is all water and how the characters interact with the world around them via various means. For the time it was released, it was a very unique anime with interesting takes that was overshadowed by some of the bigger ones at the time (Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, Devil Part-Timer).
Trigger Warnings:
At one point, the main male lead says something akin to ‘why isn’t he dead’ concerning a chronically ill child (eugenics). The main male lead is 16 at the time of the show, and the characters he interacts with the most are around the same age. Various things, which can be considered as child abuse, happen to them. The show also has sequences with flashing lights.
Tumblr media
#K6: Non Non Biyori
youtube
Propaganda:
Non Non Biyori is a show that, at first glance, seems to be little more than a standard Iyashikei affair with above average background art and below average character writing. What the show lacks in surface-level complexity, however, it makes up for with its delivery of capital T Themes.
The first season serves as a foundation, where it creates a strong sense of place through gorgeously rendered background art. We’re frequently given long, wide-angle shots of the background as characters walk through going about their business. The characters, though simply written, are given strong interactions with each other in order to grant a better understanding of the sense of community within the town. This serves to establish the town itself as the single most important element of the show, allowing the themes to blossom come season two, where we can better see the underlying melancholy behind the show’s lighthearted tone.
Non Non Biyori is ultimately a show about good times that can never last. The town they live in and the lifestyle it represents is dying, and the kids will grow up someday and will probably leave in search of better opportunities, with the possibility that they will never return to their hometown. Even in the short term, the age gap between the characters means that high school and eventually college will separate them, and though they’ll likely remain friends things will have irreversibly changed. Though the threat of change looms over the narrative, importantly, it’s not something that’s ever lingered on for too long, and when it is, it’s delivered with a “less is more” mentality, where we’re given only enough information to infer how the characters are feeling ourselves without it needing to be explicitly stated. This approach delivers Non Non Biyori’s central message: that even though change is inevitable and all good things come to an end, the single best thing a person can do is enjoy the good while it lasts.
Trigger Warnings: None.

1, 3, 5, 6?
I was like this will be easy if we narrow it by team but very difficult if we do it broadly...fuck around and find out 😩
Anyway for hockey:
which character do you relate to the most from your fandom?
GOD. I almost said Connor McDavid bc I too suffer the agonies but I am like, not nearly good enough at any one single thing to claim I'm like the next next one. YOU KNOW WHAT. maybe Cole Caufield, bc a) we're both short kings, b) I also get ripped up when my goals and life plans fall apart but I am Learning To Love The Journey, c) we love the homies and the homies love us, d) good size for huggin, e) my social circle is wide and affectionate enough that people get a bit 🧐 about interactions with my friends too, and f) the whole thing at the NTDP where him and Jack Hughes were BEST FRIENDS!! WHO SHARED EACH OTHER'S SUCCESSES!! LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE PRE-DRAFT PROFILE ON THEM MENTIONED THE OTHER!! AND THEN GETTING DRAFTED AND THE RELIEF ON COLE'S FACE WHEN MTL FINALLY PICKED HIM AND HOW EXCITED JACK WAS FOR HIM!! and now they're like the most underrated ship of the 2019 ntdp draft class and no one in fandom or the media ever thinks of them as a pair (except me, bc I have brain damage) but the love is still clearly there. anyway that whole situation of: childhood best friends who successes made each other what they are but the relevancy of that has faded overtime as they've grown up but there's still clearly a lot of love and affection...to drive this ask straight into a bridge, I recently found out one of my best friends in middle school died and I was thinking a lot abt how I hadn't spoken to him in over a decade (just due to like drifting apart, not a falling out or anything) but the fondness I feel for him is still so visceral....it's abt what we take with us as we grow. The love is still there, even as we fade out of each other's lives.
mainly we're both so fucking short. no way that dude is 5'7. no way
3. what is your favorite ship?
this is so hard bc as people get traded and the narrative evolves, my tastes change and I drop ships...anyway generally any Cale Makar ship makes me insane due to aforementioned brain damage (except natecale sorry to natecale nation but that's my one single notp) but rn I am sitting here so impatiently waiting for people to GET ON BOARD with Devon Toews/Cale Makar. Devon Toews is HANDSOME. AND CONFIDENT. AND HE WEARS PINK SUITS. you think he isn't blowing Cale Makar: most boring man on the planet's mind on the reg? You know how Cale never smiles anymore but sometimes he smiles around Devon??? my god. The photo of them at the Nuggies game looking like boyfriends?? kill me??? like I know the story of my fandom engagement is just me noodling from Cale Makar rarepair to Cale Makar rarepair but I stg Avs fans we GOTTA open our hearts to Devon Toews. GOTTA.
5. who is your favorite character (and maybe why?)
I love Cale Makar and Cale Makar hates me, because I keep writing weird rarepairs about him. My Avs fandom has kind of faded with time but every once in a while I see Cale Makar photo or gif or quote about how boring he is and there's a little kaiju in my head that rips a building off its foundations.
Also every Asian guy who has ever played the game and wasn't a douche bc they are my people and I must stan my people. Robo I love you. Kailer I love you. Nick Suzuki I love you, you monotone doofus. Matt Dumba? Make him commissioner. Paul Kariya I wish you ran DoPS and I also wish your husband would get off Twitter.
6. when you first think of the fandom, what image comes to mind?
This is SUCH an interesting question. like there's definitely vibes and memories and stories that come to mind immediately, but an IMAGE...maybe the fake worlds kiss photo from the inimitable @msmargaretmurry's fic The Next Next One which haunts me in my sleep. I have like real visceral memories of sitting in the Denver airport choking back tears when I got the final installment of that fic in my inbox, that is also an image. also this photo is the first photo I ever reblogged of hockey (I was a hater for SO long, sorry about the tags) and it still hits 8 years later. the joy on everyone's faces!! it's cute!!
Thank you for the ask my friend!!

10 popular Kpop groups to hold up the industry in BTS’ absence
Tumblr media
The rise of Kpop has been dramatic. A genre – that was not even a proper genre in the course of western pop culture until very recently, has become a major part of the Global Music Industry. 90% of this success is brought by BTS alone, after all they are not only the most popular Kpop group but also the biggest boy band of the world right now. But there are other artists who have been working tirelessly to keep up the mark, to heighten the bar even more.
However, all of the BTS members are now enlisted. Last of the four of them, RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook enlisted last December. And now we have none of them present till June, 2024. In the absence of the King of Kpop, who would keep the Kpop industry moving forward? Who will hold up the industry till they come back?
I have the answer for you. In this blog we will talk about 10 popular kpop groups that will keep kpop alive in American charts in the absence of the Kings.
However, please note that this list of most popular kpop groups has been crafted keeping 2023 activities in consideration. This is an unofficial list and should be consumed keeping that in mind.
10 most popular kpop groups these days
1. Blackpink
Members:  Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa
Label: YG Entertainment
Debuting in the year of 2016, Blackpink has risen to popularity immediately and became one of the most popular Kpop groups. Their first single album Square One included one of their most popular songs named Boombayah. Currently the girl group is referred to as the “Biggest girl group of the world”.
The achievement of Blackpink includes Four MTV Video Music Awards, Thirteen Circle Chart Music Awards, Three People’s Choice Awards, One Billboard Music Award, Seven Golden Disc Awards, Eleven Guinness World Records, One MTV Europe Music Award, Five Melon Music Awards, Three Seoul Music Awards, Eleven MAMA Awards, One Teen Choice Award.
They are also recognized as the first Korean girl group to win an MTV Video Music Award as well as the first to receive a nomination at the Brit Awards. The achievements are a testament of their popularity among global fans, namely Blinks.
Despite the recent controversy of the youngest member Lisa, the girl group was invited by King Charles III as honorary guests of  Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
Thus, there is no doubt that in the absence of BTS, Blackpink will be keeping Kpop alive in American charts. Obviously, when they have bangers like How you like that, Pretty savage, whistle and more, it’s tough not to become their fans and retain them as one of the most popular Kpop groups in the year of 2024.
2. Seventeen
Members: S.Coups (Leader), Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino
Label: Pledis Entertainment (currently under Hybe)
In my opinion Seventeen is one of the most underrated Kpop bands to exist on the planet. This thirteen member-ed group debuted in the year of 2015 and finally in 2023 it is considered as one of the most popular kpop groups that you can totally listen to and gradually fall in love with.
Seventeen is considered as a “self-producing” group, which means the members write, produce and compose their songs mostly by themselves. Hence, the authenticity that you will hear in their songs is something you can root for. And this is one of the main reasons why Seventeen deserves to be one of the most popular Kpop groups in recent times.
The group has always been praised for their extraordinary performance skills. They have also gained titles like “Performance Kings“, “K-Pop Performance Powerhouse” and more. As a result the Seventeen has been winning the Best Dance Performance Award at MAMA ever since 2017.
Recently the band has glorified Korea’s soft power aka entertainment industry even more by being invited and giving a speech at UNESCO’s Youth Forum.
So, it’s safe to say that everything you want in your idol, you can find it in Seventeen and that is one of the many reasons why they are one of the most popular Kpop Groups in existence and why you should listen to them while BTS serves in the Military.
3. Stray kids
Members: Bang Chan (Leader), Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N
Label: JYP Entertainment
Featuring in the 3rd number in our list of popular Kpop Groups is Stray Kids. The band debuted in the year of 2017 and has been going strong ever since. Be it hardcore rap numbers like Thunderous or mellow ballads like The View you can find it all in Stray Kids’ discography, making them one of the best idol groups to listen to.
However, their popularity has not been able to save them from criticism and controversies. Member Hyunjin got involved in a serious case of school bullying and leader Bang Chan had to issue an apology upon receiving criticism regarding some comments he made about young Kpop idols.
Nevertheless, their popularity has not been tainted, thanks to their loyal fans, Stay. so, if you are thinking of giving their discography a try, then go forward, you won’t be disappointed. They are one of the most popular kpop groups for a reason.
4. TXT
Members: Yeonjun, Soobin (Leader), Beomgyu, Taehyun, and HueningKai
Label: Big Hit Entertainment
From the house of our Kpop Kings, BTS, here is Tomorrow X Together (TXT), one of the most popular Kpop groups these days. The group debuted in 2019 and they scored big right from their debut. TXT’s debut EP entered US billboard 200 at no. 140. The group has also gained the title of the very first boy group to headline at Lollapalooza.
Within only four years of debut the group has gained a significant popularity and a very loyal fanbase, MOA. Even though at their initial stage many associated their popularity with BTS (as they were the first boy band Big Hit entertainment introduced after six years of BTS’ debut), the boys proved their talent and established their identity all by themselves.
One of the many reasons behind TXT’s popularity is their unique discography. I personally like the way their songs stand apart from many fourth generation idols. Songs like Nap of the Star, Run Away, Cats and Dogs, Anti-Romantic are some of the songs you should listen to if you have not already.
All in all, TXT is a deserving band that certainly deserves a try and should be labeled as one of the most popular kpop groups these days.
5. Newjeans
Members: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein
Label: ADOR
It’s been less than 2 years since Newjeans debuted and they are crazy popular already. Even though at some point I question this popularity especially when they are called “The Next BTS”, these girls are definitely doing a lot compared to their age.
Their popularity soared with their hit number Ditto and OMG. These two songs even got charted in the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the UK singles Chart. And currently Super Shy has been gaining places in charts. As a result they bagged Daesang, Artist of the Year in 2023 MAMA.
Even though these girls have a long way to go, it has to be admitted that they have already gained a significant amount of popularity and they are certainly one of the most popular kpop groups of the current days.

Placements that indicate intelligence
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As usual in this kind of posts, I will put some of the placements that you probably listen to the most, but I will not limit myself to that and I will talk about others that, in my opinion, are a bit underrated.
🟫One of the most important points, but sometimes completely ignored is the Moon. The Moon, in addition to telling us about a good memory, also tells us about emotional intelligence and in general the state of our mind.
🟤Gemini Moons, being Moons ruled by Mercury, give them an intellectual and very skillful touch. These natives are people who can learn anything very quickly, they have a tendency to get bored easily, so they look for things to learn or with which to stimulate their minds. They are very intelligent people and skilled in social situations as well.
🟤Virgo Moons, like the previously mentioned ones, are Moons ruled by Mercury, which gives them a slight plus in their intelligence. These people have great wisdom and their minds are capable of solving problems with great ease. They are people with excellent intellectual potential, it is something that people quickly notice about them, even if they doubt their intellect.
🟤Sagittarius Moons feel a need to connect or learn about various topics, they are never satisfied with knowing a lot about a single topic and they actively try to know how to do many different things on their own so as not to need other people. They have a great capacity for self-analysis and for analyzing other people.
🟤Capricorn Moons are people who always try to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground, their mind is aware of everything at the same time, both the bad things and the good things. They analyze everything in detail and with great ease. It is easy for them to see errors or things that are not being done correctly. Being a Moon ruled by Saturn, here we find individuals with lots of self-control especially in emotional terms.
🟤Aquarius Moons also that the previous one, are ruled by Saturn, which favors an excellent emotional intelligence. These Moons themselves are very creative and there are many qualities that their other Ruler Uranus gives them, they tend to innovate in whatever field they decide to get involved. They leave a mark for how unique and well done their work is.
🟤Moon in the 1st house seem to have an excellent relationship with the word emotions, and despite the fact that this placement would make them very emotional, they tend to keep that side of their personality to themselves. When developed, these natives have extensive knowledge not only of their emotional world, but also that of other people, making them dazzled by their extensive emotional intelligence.
🟤With Moon in the 4th house something very similar to the previous point happens, and that is that these natives can have great intelligence and emotional control, but in addition to that, they usually have an excellent memory. They may have skills for history, oratory, psychology. They may have a natural liking for reading.
🟤Moon in the 8th house stand out for having this mixture of intellect and intuition, they are people who know things or realize them because of the quick analysis they do. They are very skilled people in any subject that allows them to go further with analysis. When this placement is developed, the natives can have a wide emotional control, in addition to that, they can know themselves perfectly.
🟤Moon in the 11th house have a great mind, they have the ability to give life to the most spontaneous and fleeting ideas, they are able to use common sense to know things and to put aside their emotional discomfort to be in the best state for end a problem. They don't let their emotions get excessively involved when making an important decision.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🟫Mercury is the quintessential planet in which we must look for these issues, since it is directly related to the mind, the ability to reason and communication skills.
🟤Aries and Leo Mercury is a very common factor in people with high intrapersonal intelligence. The nature of these signs is directed towards the self, so what these natives want to learn more about is themselves, their functioning, they seek to understand themselves from head to toe. Their minds stand out to be quick and come up with deductions quickly. Their minds are active and never seem to stop, and they can become impatient when other people don't jump to conclusions as quickly.
🟤Something that I talked about in a few past atro observations is that I would attribute "intelligence" to the mutable Mercury, this since they naturally have a desire to know how to do many things no matter how different they are. Gemini and Virgo Mercuries are in domicile & exaltation respectively, so we would see the most capable and commonly known as intelligent facets. While Sagittarius & Pisces are in exile and fall respectively. This is not equivalent to these natives not being intelligent, on the contrary, they are very capable in many different areas and can stand out for being very skilled at what they do, the thing is that they get bored more easily than the aforementioned.
🟤Capricorn Mercuries are very clever intellectually, they stand out a lot for their intelligence, only they can be somewhat reserved about it. The same with the Moon section, being ruled by Saturn, makes them much more rational and methodical than other placements. There are two types of Mercury in Capricorn, the one who is organized and the other who maintains order in their mess [that is, someone who doesn't consider themselves to be orderly, but if they are orderly in their own way, generally an unconventional one].
🟤Aquarius Mercury are quite intelligent, since being ruled by both Saturn and Uranus, the wise teacher and the misunderstood genius, makes the way their mind operates something quite interesting and complex. With a realistic vision and quite high analytical skills, these natives are creative and inventive, as well as very witty. They have great intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence [regarding themselves and other people]. Great social skills, but definitely needs a break after that.
🟤Mercury dominants can be on people's lips because of how skilled they are at different doctrines, how smart they are, or even how good they are at performing certain tasks. Something they show [realizing it or not realizing it] is that they are willing to learn more and more about a subject, regardless of whether they think they know a lot about it. They are easy to learn about different subjects.
🟤Talking with some practicing and non-professional astrologers, we came to the conclusion that Unaspected Mercuries may have a fascinating intellect. Their minds are usually very powerful and capable. Let's remember that unaspected is when no planet aspects Mercury [asteroids like Chiron, Juno, Pallas, Vesta, Eros, etc. do not count to determine unaspected, since if we consider them, there would be no unaspected planets].
🟤Mercury in the 1st house present themselves as very intellectual people with great knowledge on topics that interest them. These people try to be very rational in their life, which causes them to be described as very intelligent people. It is worth mentioning that they can have many different skills, they can be those considered multi-skilled.
🟤Mercury in the 2nd house are usually very intelligent and capable in the economic sector, they can find and devise many ways to earn money. They may have extensive knowledge in subjects such as economics, mathematics, or anything that requires calculation or premeditation. Their mind sees the long term and this makes them excellent strategists.
🟤Mercury in the 7th house usually stand out for their interpersonal intelligence, that is, intelligence regarding social situations or with other people. They are excellent at searching and finding solutions, they can work well when the rest of the team is under pressure. They are people with an inner balance that makes them work hard on a mental level, but not excessively. They understand others and their motives quickly and easily.
🟤Mercury in the 9th house are very expansive people in terms of their intellect, since you will always see them interested in learning new things. They may have great linguistic intelligence. They have the facility to learn, especially if it is on their own. That's not all, since they have a natural talent to teach other people. In addition to intelligence, they are seen as very wise people as well.
🟤Mercury in the 10th house gives the image of being an intelligent person, even if they don't see themselves that way [since these natives usually don't accept that they are intelligent or don't believe it, especially if Mercury is squaring rising]. They are people who are seen that way mostly by people older than them or by people they work with.
🟤The Mercury-Sun conjunction is a great significator of intelligence. Natives with this aspect stand out for being excellent communicators and for having some particular skill in which they are very good. If Mercury is after the Sun, the native can be seen as more analytical and rational, while if it is before the Sun, they are people with a quicker and more witty mind.
🟤With a very strong desire to continue learning, a very evident curiosity and an ability to learn at rapid speeds, those with Mercury-Jupiter aspects are quite admired for the harmonious way in which their minds operate. They not only stand out for their great communication skills, but also for their maturity. These people may have a natural talent for learning other languages por to learn about other cultures.
🟤Mercury-Saturn aspects make the mind of the natives sharp and very rational. They can stand out for their maturity from a young age, which makes them seem much more intelligent. They can have skills such as a lot of perseverance when it comes to wanting to meet a goal, a lot of honesty, and the ability to work under pressure, skills that, in addition to making them look smart, make them look very professional.
🟤Mercury in 05°, 17°, 29°. I know perfectly well that these are the acclaimed "fame degrees", but being Leo degrees, wherever you have them on your chart are the traits for which you stand out the most, in this case, on the planet Mercury, these natives stand out for their amazing intellect and by its ability in any area indicated by the house or sign in which Mercury is.

🟫Placements in the 3rd and 6th house are of crucial importance as they are houses with Mercurial energy. Being the 3rd house is the most playful and spontaneous side of Mercury, while the 6th house is the most analytical and rational side of it. Both houses have the same importance.
🟤Mercury in the 3rd house stand out for being multi-talented, their thirst for knowledge and their desire to find something that stimulates them mentally makes them investigate different doctrines in order to keep themselves somewhat entertained for a while. Your mind is quick and very capable of continuing to acquire new knowledge.
🟤In the case of Mercury in the 6th house, we find the most rational and examining facet of Mercury. These natives stand out for the ability to learn anything at a fast pace and without depending on someone to teach them. They are people with a somewhat perfectionist mind and with a special eye for details.
🟤Moon and the 6th house is a fairly common factor for those we call smart or genius. These natives need to find a reason for things, their inquisitive spirit is something to highlight about them. These people know the importance of maintaining a balance between reason and emotion, which makes them people with an inner balance.
🟤Saturn in the 3rd house shows us those geniuses who sit down, analyze and don't say a word, but once they decide to speak, they leave everyone silent because of their amazing intellect. They may doubt their intelligence, but the reality is that they have a highly developed ability to analyze, think and devise solutions.
🟤The Jupiter effect is the expansion one, so the presence of Jupiter in either the 3rd house or the 6th house shows a person who can try different activities, delve into different types of knowledge and stand out in each one of them.
🟤Pluto in the 3rd or 6th house is something I've seen a lot of smart people do, as they examine in detail and dig deep into things that grab their attention. They are interested in the complex, what needs more mental energy and attention, they like intellectual challenges.
🟤When the Ruler of the 3rd is in the the 6th house or vice versa, it indicates the mixture of these two intelligences, the playful, fast and lively one, and the one that is more analytical and detailed, making the intelligence of the native dual, being able to moments to be very observant and quiet, and for others to have the answer much faster and without much effort.

🟫Next, I will talk about other things that I have realized after analyzing the charts of people considered very intelligent, or people who have done great deeds due to their intellect.
🟤A Jupiter in the house of domicile [9th or 12th house] usually gives a multi-talented person, someone who may be smart enough to teach themselves things, master those fields and teach them to other people or share their knowledge effectively.
🟤Saturn dominants are quite skilled and intelligent, as well as capable of matching or surpassing the knowledge of their masters. Because of the things they have had to live with, they develop a strong armor, on the outside and on a mental level. They notice things much more quickly, they observe in detail what is happening around them.
🟤Pluto dominants have a more intuitive intelligence, nothing gets out of hand or goes unnoticed. They arrive at deductions quickly and these are usually correct most of the time.
🟤Ruler of the 3rd in the 1st or vice versa show themselves as very curious and open to learning, being able to find happiness by practicing new things or learning about things that they did not know before. They stand out from a young age for their intellect and this ability to have fun and learn at the same time.
🟤Ruler of the 3rd/6th in the 9th or vice versa stand out for wanting to know more and more about many topics, they are never satisfied with what they know and they see learning as an extremely fascinating journey. The more complex a subject seems to them, the more they will be involved in knowing it in its entirety. They are not afraid of mental challenges, their mind is always ready to include more information.
🟤Ruler of the 6th in the 1st or vice versa makes the native look somewhat introverted and observant, they give the vibe of being a very intelligent person, and of course they are. The natives are of few words and very attentive to what is happening around them, methodical, organized and with established priorities. They make the most of their time and dedicate a lot of it to learning. They may like to read and possess more and more knowledge.
