He's cold, very, very cold, and his body is heavy in a way that makes it feel alien to him, like his entire being is a phantom limb. It's him, but it's not. It feels wrong, an affront to nature itself. Abomination. Monster. Creation.

But at the same time, he's light as a feather (that tends to happen when you lose a whole part of your torso), and his prosthetic arm is not just as reactive as his real one, it's almost better, it's stronger.

He was always a man of contradictions.

If the soul society wants him to keep moving, even in death, then so be it. He'll move, he'll fight, he'll kill. Little toy soldier, little puppet on a string.

He's cold, he feels heavy, but he can still lift his head.

My porch eaves sing at night

My porch eaves sing at night

as the twilight starts to fall.

House sparrows, wrens, blue jays all fluffed up

take their places on the rose briars and

tangled ivy.

The blue tailed skinks and half-red lizards sit under the flickering lights

to catch the flying gnats.

Barns swallows in their muddied straw nests

crouch over eggs and watch

with beady black eyes.

Their voices join a crescendo of life that echoes through the fields.

I don’t know why

anyone

would want a silent porch.

i spent my entire teenaged years fighting for my life. i crawled through the deepest pits of my depression to cling to the promise of a life beyond that pain. i was so convinced that i was going to die young, that i would never see the grace of my age starting with a 2, let alone 3.

so im going to turn 30, and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do to stop me from loving it.

does anyone have like an anti aesthetic. like something you look at and can recognize as a complete fashion/interior design/artistic movement and understand it but it makes you shudder seeing it. i am not talking like “its morally bad” “its poorly structured” like just sheerly devoid of joy for you actually invites a repulse response.
