The general themes of it tbh? Idk if it's because I'm in the wrong places but yeah, I think the suicide talk in Tenkuu Shinpan is amazing and the whole "what makes us human" is stellar. It's two things Miura had also begun to touch in that first volume of Ajin and I am very interested in the way people understand it in Tenkuu Shinpan. Some talk about the fanservice, some talk about the gore, most talk about Sniper and shipping, but the important stuff to me is the message. Tenkuu Shinpan is so good..

 When they turned the corner, you were ready for them. You were on your feet, fast as lighting and aiming to kill. And so, when they turned the corner, you raised your knife, pointed it at their heart and-

 It’s only a few minutes after you finally decide to confront the person who’s been stalking you all this time. That means it’s only a few minutes after you turned to find yourself faced to face with a tall, handsome stranger, dressed in a dark suit pointing the barrel of a rifle directly in the middle of your forehead. A Mask. And a Mask that only uttered one word to you:

A/N: Sniper Mask is so cool, that man saved the show for me, I couldn't get enough of him.

You give him lots of jaw and neck kisses

Kisses on the mask happen but only when he doesn't have blood on it

Since he can't kiss you with the mask on he'll nuzzle and rub his face against your cheek

Maybe he can't kiss you but can sure as hell make lots of cute kissy noises

The most he'll take it off in the field is to uncover his lips

Then you can kiss him properly but otherwise you need to wait until you get to the apartment

Even so he'll still tease you, deliberately avoiding your attempts to take it off only to duck down to your cheek and make a kiss sound against it

Only after he sees your cute pout will he let up and let you take his mask off

You always looks beautiful to him but he much more prefers to see you when he's not wearing his mask

so, since there seems to be a lack in fluff for our favorite masked badass, here are some fluffy headcanons for none other than Sniper Mask!!

Sniper Mask Boyfriend Headcanons

high-rise invasion/tenkuu shinpan masterlist

he totally has naturally cold hands

he likes to run them under your shirt at random periods just to mess with you

he gives you his blazer when you get cold, 100%, you cannot change my mind on this

has a fixation with your hands

he’ll play with them when your cuddling lots

he traces random patterns on your skin when you cuddle

moves his mask up just enough to give you kisses

protective over you

gets anxious when he doesn’t have an eye on you

and on the chance that you're lost or in danger

he would tear apart everything and everyONE just to find you

when he finds you, you’re gonna be trapped in his arms for a good couple of hours

he takes his mask off in front of you without a care in the world

the first time he did it, you were shocked

I am not real

“I wanna go home..” You say as tears spill and stain your cheeks

“But you are home?” They say, as they cradle you in their arms, softly leaving a kiss on your forehead.

“it doesn’t feel like it..” You admit. You hug them tightly, so tight as if your life depended on it. Afraid if you release them, they’ll disappear.

You begin to cry more than ever, so much that little hiccups escape you.

“Please. Don’t go, you’re my home.”

You can feel a few tears spill as they hug you back. Though you couldn’t see their face right now, you can tell they are just as distressed as you are.

“I am not real. I am only a fictional character, how can you have such feelings for me?” They question. You know that they are making an effort to lessen your pain, the pain of knowing they are only on a screen, in a book. The pain of knowing that they are just a character, made by a real being.

“Because.. You are the person I have dreamed of having back in reality.” You barely get the words out, as you shed more tears.

You guys stay there for quite some time hugging, relishing the comforting silence as you gain the courage to speak what was on your mind.

“I’ll find you. Even if you are not real. I’ll find a way. And when I do. We’ll be together.” You make an effort to smile as tears dare to spill again.

You can feel them smile softly.

They let go of the hug and proceed to cup your face in their soft and warm hands, and place a soft but passionate kiss on your lips. “I’ll wait for you.” They finally say.

And when you close your eyes once more, you see yourself, greeted by the cold presence of your pillow drenched with your tears as you hug it ever so tightly.

General Sniper Mask Dating Headcanons

He has a huge hand fascination. Whether he's playing with yours or you're playing with his, he's happy. Or just whenever you touch him with your hands. Brush his hair and he'll be putty in your hands.

Sit in his lap. Just sit there. He's comfortable. C'mon, it's a free chair, all for you. He just loves having you within his reach at all times. He looks a little ridiculous whenever he pats his lap but you gotta love him.

He's not much for PDA, though. Before the manga he was just a pretty shy kid so he'd burst into flames if you did anything more than hold his hand in the busy public. During the manga, he's really busy trying to survive and he doesn't want you to be able to be used against him. In private, he's all over you.

He would likely only date someone he's known for quite a while, so once you've been officially dating for a few months you'll know that he's a huge fan of cuddling. Spooning is likely his favorite, but anything that feels like he's protecting you is his ideal.

If you pull him down by his tie he’ll melt. Do it. Do it. Just do it.

His love language is likely a mix of acts of service and physical affection.

He really likes looking cool. While in a serious fight his entire focus will be on destroying the enemy as fast as possible, once it’s over and he’s checked the perimeter for hidden enemies, he’ll be sneaking you glances almost asking if you thought he looked cool.

Synopsis: When Sniper Mask goes into hibernation, you can’t help but feel worried for him. Your concern is enough to capture the attention of both Kuon and Mayuko, who discover that you’ve been hiding a secret about you and Sniper Mask’s history.

Warning(s): A little bit of swearing, sexual themes heavily implied

Note: Based off of Episode 10; there might be some spoilers ahead, so just a heads up! Reader isn’t a mask in this story- just putting that out there.

Your fingers traced over the hard surface of the mask, Sniper Mask’s head on your lap as you stared down at his unconscious form. His hat had been removed, revealing his tousled locks.

Both Kuon and Mayuko were waiting outside of the room. You had asked for some alone time with the male; while Mayuko looked a bit skeptical with your request, Kuon had been quick to usher you into the room.

Your hands were trembling a bit as you slowly lifted Sniper Mask’s mask upwards, revealing the handsome face that you hadn’t seen in quite some time. His mouth was slightly parted as he breathed, eyebags beneath his eyes due to lack of proper sleep.

As your thumb brushed over the scar beneath his left eye, you failed to hear the sliding door behind you open.

“Yuka…” Your voice was nothing more than a whisper. “I’ve missed you.”

“What do you mean by that?”

The sound of Mayuko’s voice snapped you out of your trance, your attention now on the two girls who stood a few feet away from you. The blonde had a hand on her hip, eyes focused on you as Kuon hid behind her, mumbling something about how it wasn’t right for her to see Sniper Mask’s real face.

You tilted your head in slight confusion. “I’m sorry?”

“We’ve all been together for quite some time now,” Mayuko said. “Yet you just said ‘I’ve missed you’ to Sniper Mask, as if you hadn’t seen him in forever.”

Your movements were gentle as you moved the mask so that it covered the sniper’s face once more. “In a way, I guess it has been awhile since I’ve seen him,” you said. “His face, I mean.”

“His face?” Kuon stopped hiding behind Mayuko, seeing that the male now had his mask back on. “Are you saying that you’ve seen it before?”

“Naturally,” you said. “But that’s not important. Right now we should work on waking him up.”

You gave Sniper Mask’s shoulder a small squeeze, your next words surprising both Kuon and Mayuko.

“I won’t allow my boyfriend to die like this.”

The door closed shut with a light click as you stepped into the hallway, a tired sigh leaving your lips.

“Kuon’s passed out for now, but she’ll be fine,” you said. “Glad to have you back, Sniper Mask.”

Said male was leaning against the wall, one hand in his pocket as the other held a cigarette to his lips. Mayuko was still in the bedroom with Kuon, saying that she would watch over the girl as both you and Sniper Mask spoke to each other. Yuri had gone off somewhere, telling the two of you that she would be right back.

“Did anything happen while I was in hibernation?”

“No, nothing,” you said. You leaned against the wall, crossing your arms. “Everything is still the same.”

“Is it really?”

“What do you mean?” you asked. “You fell into hibernation, and both Kuon and Mayuko-”

A loud thud echoed throughout the room as you suddenly found yourself pressed even further against the wall, a gloved hand now at the side of your head as Sniper Mask looked down at you. Despite the mask, you could see his brown eyes focused on your much smaller form.

“Sniper Mask-” you began, only for him to cut you off.

“What exactly is your relationship with me, (Y/N)?” he questioned. “You’ve been hiding something, and I want to know-”

“Yuka.” His eyes widened at the use of his real name. “If you wanted answers, then you could’ve just asked normally instead of having me up against the wall.”

You pushed his arm away, causing it to fall limply at his side.

“If you really want to know, then…”

You suddenly took hold of his tie, pulling him down so that he was now face-to-face with you.

“Hey, what are you- hmph!”

His mask had been pushed away from his face, your lips pressing against his before he could finish his sentence. Your action caused his cigarette to fall out of his mouth, quickly forgotten as you moved to wrap your arms around his neck to bring him even closer.

A hand placed itself on the small of your back, the taste of tobacco greeting your tongue as Yuka deepened the kiss further.

Some seconds passed before you chose to finally pull away, needing air. A satisfied smile formed on your lips at the sight of Yuka staring at you with half-lidded eyes, mouth slightly parted as he looked uncharacteristically flustered.

You gave a small laugh. “Was that enough to remind you?”

A startled gasp left your mouth as he suddenly grabbed onto your hips, bringing you close and pressing a soft kiss onto your neck.

“I don’t know, sweetheart,” he murmured. The way he said the pet name sent a familiar shiver down your spine. “I think I’ll need more than that to remind me.”

His lips found yours once more, and you didn’t have to ask in order to know what he had in mind.

“Where’s Mr Mask?”

Kuon was finally awake, the sniper’s suit jacket still in her hands as she sat up on the bed. Mayuko sat in a chair nearby, arms crossed as she gave a shrug.

“Last I remember, he was in the hallway with (Y/N).”

“Well!” Kuon had a bright smile on her face, clapping her hands together. “I hope that they’re having a good conversation, then.”

“Yeah…”

“Geez, where could those two have gone?”

Mayuko’s steps were light as she walked down the hallway, eyes scanning her surroundings as she searched for both Sniper Mask and (Y/N). She paused in front of a certain room, a muffled sound catching her attention.

“What the…?”

Her hand reached for the doorknob, only to freeze at the next few sounds she heard.

“Yuka, s-slow down- ah!”

“F-Fuck, sweetheart, keep your voice down...”

Mayuko’s face was a furious shade of red as she rushed off, making a mental note to remind the others to not even bother looking for you two for a little while.
