In the depths of my soul,
A darkness lingers, takes control,
A misanthrope, I am, it seems,
Held captive by my own extremes.
I harbor grudges, nurse my pain,
My vengeance seethes like boiling rain,
I play the antihero's role,
With anger as my only goal.
I strike out at the world with wrath,
An avenging angel on my path,
My heart aching, my mind enraged,
Injustice fueling my rampage.
But deep down, I know it's not right,
To dwell in darkness, day and night,
To live my life with hate and fear,
And let my soul be pierced by sears.
And so I'll fight to find the light,
To let all logic guide my sight,
To let go of the past and move ahead,
And break free from the chains of dread.
For though the world may seem unfair,
And life may leave me in despair,
I know that hate will only breed,
It is a nasty weed like seed.
So let me choose the path of peace,
Of love and hope and sweet release,
And let my heart be filled with grace,
With every step and every trace.

Don't make this harder than it already is. I know I'm not heartless. I know I have feelings. And I know I'm confusing, but you have to understand. I'm not made for this. I'm really sorry. I can't love you. I could never love you. I don't.. It's unnatural. I'm sorry. That came out wrong. I just. I don't think I should. It feels-- I know how it ends. I know. There's only one way out in the end, and there will be an end and you will want out. It happens every time. I'm scary. I can get scary, I know, and you won't know how to handle that and I won't know how to help you and you won't be able to help me and in the end we're just two strangers who really want to help each other but can't. And those only reason we want to help each other is because of a few good memories that look like you and me. But it isn't. I'm sorry. It's preemptive. I'm just trying to spare you the heartache. I don't want to go through that again. I won't go through that again. Love is the biggest mistake two people can make. I'm tired of mistakes. I'm tired of love. I'm so tired. Aren't you tired? If you're not now, then you will be soon. You're going to regret it. Everyone does. So just walk away now. I can see it in your eyes already. You're angry. That's because you know I'm right, and I know you want to risk it all anyway. Risk it all for the chance to feel it, even for a second. Because everyone would rather love and have their heart shattered than never at all. Rather have loved than miss the chance. The chance to what? Feel broken? Be robbed of your faith? No. That's stupid. That's what a fool would say, a fool who was once a wiseman, brainwashed by a poison, sweet as it is deadly. Love is for fools.

Tumblr media Tumblr media

Sweetness (Yeshuah's In My Face Vision) I sit in wonder minus the thunder of someone else's angered interior I've become more than a writer I've become a meditator a pray-er less than a number ‒a silent neighbor maybe a quiet onlooker soaking up the moves of a joker I sit and ponder words in plaster having so much to offer vibes of the Father† ‒being tarnished as the irregular I'm a solid…

A powerful, inspired, deeply meaningful and very beautiful song from San Diego, California native: The Poet.
"And now the sunshine of my pride
Bestows the world with all that’s good
I know my worth, I will not hide
No one can tell me that I should
And now the cage door stands ajar
The gilded perch has no appeal
No longer living for acclaim
I have the courage to be real" - Jeffrey Young (The Poet)

Louisa Reid - The Poet
Emma is 25 and a promising poet and PhD student at Oxford. She is researching into a long forgotten female poet named Charlotte Mew whose work she uncovered and analyses. When she, the girl from the north and a middle-class family, came to the prestigious college, she felt like not belonging, her accent revealed her background, but her professor Tom saw something in her. He didn’t tell her that he was still married with kids and she didn’t mind. Now, years later, she finds herself in a toxic relationship. The renowned professor knew how to manipulate the young woman with low self-esteem doubting herself. Despite the success with her own poems, he can exert control over her, her thinking and cleverly gaslights her. He goes even further until she reaches a point where she has to decide to either give up herself or fight.
Louisa Reid’s novel “The Poet” is the portrait of a young woman who encountered the wrong man at the wrong time. She falls for her teacher who is charming, who sparks something in her, who makes her feel special and talented. Yet, she does not realise at which point this positive energy turns into the negative and when his second face is revealed. The power he has over her, the power his position attributes him, bring her into an inferior position from which it is hard to be believed and to escape.
The arrangement of power the author chooses is well-known: male vs. female, older vs. younger, rich background vs. middle class, academic vs. working class. All factors play out for Tom and from the start put him into the position of control. Emma, young and naive, is only too eager to succumb to it since she falls for his intellect and charm. He is idolised by students as well as his colleagues, quite naturally she is flattered by his attention.
On the other hand, we have the manipulative scholars who knows exactly what makes his female students tick. He has noticed Emma’s talent and knows how to profit from it. Systematically, he makes her feel inferior, stresses her weak points – her background, her family, the lack of money – keeps her from progressing with her work. He makes himself the Ubermensch in her view and manages to keep her close as he needs her, too. Not emotionally, but in a very different way.
Wonderfully written in verse and yet, it reads like a novel. Heart-wrenching at times, analytical at others the book immediately seduces and keeps you reading on.

run.
Tumblr media
huddled in the corner,
rocking back and forth,
creaking linoleum.
eye buried in sockets rimmed red
from all the tears I'm scared to shed.
i'm afraid, I'm afraid, I'm
Begging you,
"Stay away, stay away."
Stay away.
Sometimes it's better to run away, then hold your ground-- dig your heels and beg to stay.
For better, fear the worst, and come away.
