Here's a lesser-known variation (in the US, at least) of the Sleeping Beauty story:
The German nursery song "Dornröschen war ein schönes Kind" ("Briar Rose was a beautiful child").
Children traditionally sing it while dancing in a circle, with a few individuals among them stepping into the center to act out the roles of the story characters.
In English it's sometimes sung as "There Was a Princess Long Ago." When I was in kindergarten, my class learned it that way.
The Wiggles have recorded the English version...
... as have some other children's music groups too. The very first time I heard it, even before kindergarten, was as a toddler in the early '90s, when Sharon, Lois & Bram sang it on The Elephant Show. Although their version rewrote the lyrics to be about Snow White instead of Sleeping Beauty.
Two different European film versions of Sleeping Beauty have made use of this song: Fritz Genschow's 1955 German film and Omnia Films' 1990 Czech/German version. They both show peasant children dancing and singing the song after the hundred years have gone by, illustrating how the story of the sleeping princess has passed into folklore in the outside world. A clever choice, I think.

Always lowkey simmering a Leverage AU in the back of my head hear me out:
Ted is an ex-insurance investigator who was able to get his son life-saving medical treatment because his first, original Crime Pal Beard was like ‘Ted if your company doesn’t come through with the coverage, we’re doing things my way.’
The company did not come through. The company did let him go due to suspicion of Ted’s involvement in the incident, but Ted will happily remind folks that no charges were formally pressed. Henry is alive and healthy and living with Michelle, who divorced Ted shortly thereafter (not just because of pre-existing marital problems, but because Ted wouldn’t tell her anything about why the doctors “””suddenly decided to do the procedure for free”””). Shortly thereafter, Ted fled the country.
What Ted learned from the whole experience is that there’s a lot of people out there, good people just trying to live by the rules, but sometimes things happen that are just out of their control. And well- if we’ve got the means to help the good people out when no one else will, then shouldn’t we try?
“We’ve got means,” Beard agrees. “And motives.”
They do things Beard’s way now.

I don’t know if anyone’s made this comparison before, but it certainly appears that a lot of Prince Naveen’s swagger, mannerisms and musical prowess seems to be inspired by Jose Carioca of “The Three Caballeros.” ^_^ Something of an added note/comparison too is that Naveen’s voice actor, Bruno Campos, is from Rio de Janeiro, same as Jose and “Carioca” is a term used to call someone from there. ;)
@enbydemirainbowbigfoot Thought you might like to see this since it has Jose on it. ;)
