Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I'm sorry for the ways in which toxic masculinity has harmed you. You are a valued member of the aspec community and the queer community as a whole. No ace or aro person is broken and neither are you. I'm sorry if anyone has ever told you otherwise.

Taking a minute to appreciate the way the folks at Watcher take time to appreciate and support their LGBTQ+ fans, because... Of course they've always been great with general fan engagement via incorporating fan submissions into shows, the way they run their social media, etc... But they've kicked off pride month with an entire merch line, designed by queer artists, the proceeds of which go to support queer people... This isn't just performative "participate in pride month because it's good for business" bullshit, this is genuinely amazing. They aren't plastering rainbows on top of their content to get more engagement and brownie points from fans, they're genuinely advocating for what they believe in and actively showing support to people who really need it right now. I know my blog here is mostly bullshit / meme content, but I just want to take a moment here to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, to EVERYONE at Watcher. Thank you for not only creating hilarious, innovative, and wonderful content, but also for showing genuine support and love to the LGBTQ+ community. What you do means the world to so many people, and all of us Watcherinas are eternally grateful <3

Dakota getting a 68% on a math test. It’s not much but god did he work hard for that.

He studied, did the homework (plus extra worksheets), asked William for help, read the textbook, he worked SO hard.

And it comes back a 68% all on his own, no cheating, no foul play, just him.

And he is so proud of himself, so proud of himself because he’s never passed a test like that before and he did! It’s a passing grade!!! He passed. Barely, but it still counts.

He shows EVERYONE this test because he’s so happy, he’s so proud of himself he is off the WALLS. He nearly bowled William over in his excitement after class. They’re so proud of him.

Tide hangs it up on the fridge with a smiley face sticker and one that says “good job” and he’s so proud of Dakota because he KNOWS how hard Dakota has worked for it. They’re all so proud of him!!

Yeah yeah jedi Maul au we've all seen him. But what about senator Maul au. Representing Dathomir, a neutral world like Mandalore that is still somewhat hostile to outsiders. Wearing fancy clothes that show a bit too much skin for the cold climate of Coruscant. Falling in hate at first sight with Padmé, the only other senator who brings a gun to the senate floor "just in case". The two of them having a weird rivalry because Maul doesn't trust the Jedi and is neutral in a lot of subjects that Padmé is a vocal defender of.

Nonbinary flags

These were made because I found out that the creator of the most commonly used Nonbinary flag had some frankly incorrect and hurtful (at least to myself as an Intersex non-"DFAB" who uses it the way I do) opinions on Genderqueer people and on the label Genderqueer itself. As well as things like this on nir blog (I hope I don't have to explain why it's uncomfortable, especially in the context of the other post).

This is not me saying you have to use this flag or that I hate you if you use the most popular one or anything btw. I've simply just made my own NB flags to use in edits/icons etc. for my own comfort.

These are inspired by this Nonbinary flag:

which is cited on the LGBTA wiki as "one of the oldest Nonbinary flags" but isn't given attribution (if you know please lmk so I can credit.) I moved it around a bit and adjusted the colors, I made the green to be more grey to mimic the Agender flag. There's a five-stripe version just for those who'd like a yellow-orange in there.

Here are some flipped versions if you'd prefer them for whatever reason (maybe to be closer to the original format of the older flag above?). Free for anyone to use, help with ALT text is appreciated!
