Obviously, I tried to invoke the Reality Stone/Aether with the red/black color scheme and the glassy striations that you (hopefully) can see in the background.

Why Do You Keep Doing This? (A Thor & Loki Fix-It Fic)
It’s been years and I still can’t cope with this shit. This is how I wish Thor: Love & Thunder had ended. I’m a mid writer but I needed this sooo (Spoilers ofc)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a beautiful day on their beach, nothing unusual for Thor and Love. The god realizes he’s let himself get distracted by the hypnotic waves again and promptly turns away, now in search of his little girl. Of course, disregarding Thor’s warnings, she’s made her way far along the endless path of sand. Although she’s still in sight, that’s not saying much when you’re talking about an immortal's ability. And she appeared to be talking to a man with shoulder-length, raven locks, dressed in far too many layers to be appropriate for the beach, but most importantly, he was someone Thor didn’t recognize. To be fair, the man had his back turned to him, but all Thor has ever needed to identify an ally or loved one is an outline. In a matter of seconds, the Asgardian makes his way over to the stranger and his daughter, worry building in his chest, despite how fierce he knows she can be when she needs to be.
He’s only a few feet away and he can see that Love has a huge smile plastered across her face, it’s slightly relieving, but it’s not nearly enough for him to lower his guard entirely. He’s about to reach out and grip the man’s shoulder as he approaches them in order to send a not-so-subtle message, but just as his hand is about to land on the other’s coat, he speaks up.
“For once, let’s not fight, brother.”
Thor’s hand freezes, all of him does, for a moment he forgets where he is, why he’s here, everything falls away.
“Loki?”
There’s so much unrestrained emotion in just that one word, Loki tenses, unsure if he should turn around or run while he still can. But he’s tired of running, he doesn’t want to push one of the only people who have ever treated him like he mattered away anymore. Thor never gave up on him no matter how many times he failed him and so he owed it to him to at least try to fix things.
“Loki, is that really you?” He’s never heard his brother, the insistent ray of sunshine, sound so distraught, broken, but there’s a hint of hope in his voice too.
“Yes, it’s me. No tricks. I just want to talk,” Loki tried to keep his voice even and calm but the strength in his faltered more than he’d like to admit.
“Love, honey, return home at once and do not step foot outside of our quarters until I have made it clear that it is safe to do so.”
“But father--”
“Leave us now, young Asgardian, I shall not repeat myself.”
Love picked up Stormbreaker with a sigh of defeat and grudgingly made her way back to their beach house. Loki didn’t dare move a muscle or make an attempt to continue their conversation. as he could feel the wind pick up in speed and hear the clouds begin to rumble. The skies darkened with each step Love took. The moment Love stepped inside and closed the door behind her, Thor broke their heavy silence.
“Turn around,” that didn’t sound mournful.
Loki took a deep breath, praying to Odin that he would survive long enough to explain his death before he did as his brother demanded. And there he was, eyes lit up, overflowing with pure electricity, his fingers emanating volts of lightning. The storm roared, the waves rose impossibly high and crashed into one another ferociously as Thor gripped his baby brother’s throat and lunged him into the air.
“I’VE WAITED A THOUSAND NIGHTS AND A THOUSAND MORE FOR THIS FEELING OF LONELINESS AND DESPAIR TO DISSIPATE--”
“Please--Thor--I never meant for this--” Loki gasped for air hoping that Thor would spare him one last time.
Thor released his hold on Loki’s neck and the god of mischief collapsed into the sand. When he looked up he saw that Thor didn’t have that same fire in his eyes anymore,  the glow had mellowed out and he could see tears begin to form in the god’s eyes instead.
“Why do you keep doing this to me?! You hate me? You want to escape me? Fine! So be it, but stop pretending that you care about me only to betray my trust time and time again, Loki!”
“Brother, I never meant to hurt you--”
“No. No. I’m done. All I ever wanted was--”
“I love you, Thor.”
Once again, Thor was stunned into silence. Loki hadn’t said anything that could even come close to explicitly earnest or caring since they were just a few hundred years old, let alone an actual, “I love you.” Thor reached out his hand and in the blink of an eye, he was gripping Mjolnir in a tight fist. He wasted no time before aiming the devastating weapon towards Loki.
“You’re not my brother. Who are you? Lie to me and your death will be swift.”
One vulnerable confession of love, in the absolute barest form, and Thor is convinced that he’s talking to an imposter. Had he really been that emotionally closed off all these years? The guilt that follows that self reflection is overwhelming.
“I’m-- I’m not the brother that you knew, not exactly, but I can assure you that what you see before you is no illusion. I did not come here to deceive you, I sought you out because I wanted my brother back. Because I wanted to use my second chance to make things right. Because I really do love you and I despise who I am without you.”
Loki tried and failed to hold back his tears, but he thought that maybe that was a good thing. Thor’s grip on his hammer loosened ever so slightly as he lowered it to his side and tried to maintain a stoic expression, but anyone with a brain could see the hurt and the growing hope in his eyes. His tears were still pooling, not yet daring to slip down his face.
“Well go on then,” he swallowed, “explain yourself.”
Loki nodded, collecting his thoughts, trying to decide the best way to go about this explanation.
“The last time I saw you, it was the year 2012 on Midgard. You and your team of misfits had just won the Chitauri battle of New York and had taken me into custody. But you never got the chance to escort me home, instead, thanks to your green mutant’s temper, I was able to take advantage of a monumental mishap and grab hold of the Tesseract. It transported me into a foreign desert, securing my escape. But my victory was short-lived as two officers of a multiversal law enforcement organization, allegedly tasked with the responsibility of protecting the balance and order of the cosmos, arrested me almost immediately after. Long story short, according to them and their self-declared absolute authority, I was never supposed to escape my imprisonment and therefore I was violating the sacred timeline along with my destiny. They wished for me to return to that timeline as if nothing had happened, but I managed to outsmart those pretentious neanderthals and I’ve been searching for you ever since. It wasn’t exactly hard to figure out where the Mighty Thor resides, no matter what realm someone with a reputation like yours chooses to inhabit, gossip will follow. And I know what you must be thinking. Even if any of this is true, I’m not the same Loki you lost during your first battle against Thanos. I saw everything. Despite how insufferable my time at the TVA was, their technology allowed me to grow immensely in a matter of days. I don’t need another decade of bloodshed, betrayal, and shame to finally stand by your side with honor. Mother’s death, father’s, the destruction of our home, and even my own demise. It all forced me to realize that I didn’t need to keep lashing out and acting like the outsider, the monster that I felt like I was. And though it was devastating to watch as the light was drained out of my own eyes, it was comforting to know that I died protecting you instead of hurting you.”
Loki waited for what felt like an eternity for Thor to react, speak, laugh, scream, strike him down, anything. The tears pooling in Thor’s eyes finally began to overflow as he regained his tight grip on Mjolnir. This is it, Loki thought, at least he tried. He screwed his eyes shut and waited for Thor to finish him off without any resistance. He promised himself he would never fight his brother again. He hears the sound of Thor’s signature weapon colliding with the sand, he supposes the other Asgardian wants to make this kill more personal, he doesn’t blame him. So the last thing he expects is to be wrapped in the warmth of Thor’s arms, in what should be considered the only true bear-hug known to man. After he’s able to fully process and accept that this is really happening, Loki hesitantly returns the gesture, more than happy to accept Thor’s olive branch. It must’ve been a good five minutes before he released him, but Loki wasn’t complaining, after all, they hadn’t hugged in centuries.
“I’m not even sure I believe you.”
“That’s okay, I have the rest of eternity to prove it to you.”

being a loki fangirl right now sucks so bad honestly :( it sucks when others don’t understand why watching your favorite character get mischaracterized (mischaracterization that is also constantly getting praised by others) is so aggravating… the fact that we could have probably gotten further content of our favorite character that would’ve actually been good, but we didn’t because of careless writers/directors.

I just don't understand one thing in Thor. Why did Loki lie to Thor about Odin's death, and Frigga forbidding his return?
When I heard the part where he says it was cruel of Odin to put the hammer within reach knowing Thor could lift it, it mirrored Loki egging Thor on during the beginning. And I thought may be the reason is much deeper than the surface level oh he wants Thor to get in trouble and because Loki wants the throne... I thought this part was him giving Thor the incentive to get the fuck better and shape up... To hammer in that his actions have consequences, consequences that he can understand and relate to on a personal level. But without a hope of being able to return to Asgard... I was unsure Thor would take that incentive instead of wallowing in his regrets...
So yeah I am unsure now. (I do know loki felt bad though. His eyebrow quirked up- something he only does when he feels and expresses his love for Thor)
hi thanks for your question...
consider this... LOKI was given confirmation of his suspicions about his origins after thor was banished. thor did not know.
and what was the reason for thor’s banishment? his bloodlust for the slaughter of the jotuns overcame all reason, and he was only pulled back from it by the arrival of odin, who put a stop to it all.
what do you imagine LOKI might have expected thor would do to him, upon discovering that the brother he was raised with was actually a monster (sic) in disguise? LOKI himself struggled to accept it.
i think he was just focused on having thor stay as far from asgard as he could be, for as long as LOKI could keep him there, for the sake of his own safety or life. and he might actually have expected odin to die while in the odinsleep anyhow, given what frigga said about it to LOKI.
LOKI also knew thor unfit to rule, and still sought to protect asgard from his childish tempers and whims... and now that the opportunity for real authority had somehow fallen in his lap, he had the chance to attempt both ends.
he discouraged thor from any dreams of redemption because it seemed to him the course with the least risk of harm. one person’s feelings over the safety or lives of many.
that’s my 5c... i could probably add more but it’s the middle of the night lol
