Yesterday I watched a video of a toddler in Gaza playing with a little red bicycle startle and cry at the sound of a bomb. Today I found the IOF had invaded their house, shot and killed the little boy in front of his mother and thrown them all into the street.
And it wasn't even the only child on my TL that had been killed the same way because the IOF are taking over all the houses still standing in Northern Gaza. They took over the school shelters, made the men hiding in them strip to their underwear in the freezing winter, lining them up and shooting them like dogs. They're ripping up hundreds of years old trees in groves. THEY'RE FLOODING GAZA WITH SEA WATER.
Meanwhile:

The Islamic Republic Executed 3 more Protesters This Morning
The regime has executed more than a hundred of kurd, baloch and Arab activists in the last few months, all of them under false or ambiguous charges. Habib Asivad, an Arab rights activists who was kidnapped from turkey and brought to Iran by the regime, was one of the recent ones.
This morning the regime executed 3 more protesters who has been arrested during the nation wide Jîna revolution. They were tortured and forced to confess to a murder they didn't commit. In fact, there's a document that shows the murder was the regime guards doing. typical.
Tumblr media
The three political prisoners wrote from jail on Wednesday urging the people to stop their execution.
Describing themselves as "children of Iran" in the letter, the three prisoners said: "Hello. We ask our dear fellow citizens not to let them kill us. We need your help. We need your support.
On Sunday night, demonstrators had gathered outside the prison hoping to stop the feared hangings. Campaigners say the prisoners were tortured into confessions, and there is no reliable evidence against them. -Iran International News
As it was mentioned, people tried to stop the execution by protesting and gathering in front of the prison and it was postponed but at the end the regime executed them anyway.
Meanwhile Iran has been chosen to chair the UN Human Rights Council 2023 Social Forum. This is not a joke anymore, it's the tragedy of western human rights. Apparently murdering your people for protesting grants you a human rights council chair in west.

Okay I just want to put this out there. To preface I am not proud of any of the actions that happened in this past life.
When I say I am a Draculaura fictionkin, I do not mean my past life was full of adventures with the ghouls, being all rainbow sprinkles and being a super nice vampire.
No, from the universe I came from I was a monster in the figurative and literal sense. I murdered people if they made me angry, I committed many crimes and one of them nearly got me executed, and that life had just some of the worst shit happening that I'll never talk about.
By all means I wasn't at all like the canon Draculaura. Again, I was a monster. I was pretty fucking problematic. Again, not proud of it at all, but I'm tired of others probably assuming that I was all nice.

The poll isn't over yet, however, every time i go to check it, Kol is in the lead.
so.
my mcd oc Kol and his known info and such down below
(TW for depictions of strangulation bruising and discussions of execution)
Tumblr media
Kol is, as may be clear, a Shadow Knight.
It is unclear how long he had been a Shadow Knight, or who he was prior, but as of the ranthredo, that is what he is. He commands a small camp of Shad worshippers (using them for almost the sole intent of executing HIS will, not Shad's), and keeps his method of death to himself.
As may be clear, he was strangled as part of his execution, but it is clear by the near-constant bruising on his body and the awkward twist of his limbs that something more than that happened. No one knows what position he held, or what his crime was, nor how he was executed. Only that he was, and was raised shortly after as a shadow knight.
He holds tattoos as most of the Knights in his camp do, as they are seen as a permanent symbol of their devotion to shad, and any who avoid getting any ink are seen as being ashamed of their god.
He is very strict with 'heretics' in his camp, but he can't read. so. if someone's reading a book about the divine, mother fucker wont know. But he also demands his knights remain celibate as... procreation isn't impossible, given circumstances, and he believes that the dead should not lay with the living, because the child will be an abomination.
He is closely tied to the other ocs in the poll, Riya and Sammen, as they all live in the same camp. He does not get along with either.
(He is not a good guy, by the way. There was no 'he was executed for an innocent crime' or 'he was wrongly convicted'. He did what he did, and what he did was bad. He continues to do bad things in Shad's name, and just for the fun of it. He is one of the first to be killed when Shad regains a human form)

Daughter Terrified of King Father
Anonymous asked: I'm planning renaissance story where a king takes an infant as his ward/hostage because her father was believed to be a rebel leader and the king wanted to control him and extract information out of him. A few days after he was executed, it was found he was not a traitor but framed by his enemies. The king and queen loved the child and raised her like their own. She was close with both of them, but years later when she finds out the truth, she is devastated and scared of her dad/the king. He loves his daughter very much and feels bad to see her devastated. He tries to console her and apologize but she keeps crying and is terrified of him. What could he do to console her and reassure her, take the fear from her mind, and lessen her emotional pain?
[Ask edited for length]
You have the beginnings of something interesting here, but it doesn't quite work as-is for a number of reasons, and I want to get to those before we get to your specific question.
First and foremost, I'm struggling the the basis of the wardship. While taking someone's child as a ward can be an effective means to control them, it's probably not a great way to get information out of them unless the king said, "tell us what we want to know and you get your child back," which is a straight up hostage and not a ward at all. However, this falls apart a bit when the goal is execution, because the father is never going to see his infant again anyway. Also: where is the infant's mother, and why did the king and queen still keep her even after the execution? Are they punishing the mom for the father's apparent rebellion? (We'll circle back around to this in a bit...)
My next concern is I'm not sure why learning "the truth" would make the girl terrified of her father/the king. Executing traitors was a normal part of what monarchies did back then, and the girl would have known this. In fact, if she was raised as part of the royal family, she would likely attend important executions with her family once she was older. It would certainly be shocking to learn that her biological father was executed for treason and was found innocent a few days later--and she could be hurt and angry that this truth wasn't shared with her sooner--but it shouldn't strike fear into her heart. It's not as though her father/the king intentionally murdered an innocent man in cold blood. By executing a traitor, he was doing his duty to protect the kingdom--it wasn't his fault he had bad information. Even if that bad information was the result of negligence on his part, that still shouldn't terrify his adoptive daughter. Disappoint and anger her, yes. Terrify, no.
So, I don't personally feel that "terror" is the right thing to go for here. I think you'd want to concentrate more on the hurt of not being told the truth. Even though she has no connection to her birth parents outside of genetics--and would certainly have no memories of them--people like to know their roots, and she could feel quite betrayed learning that she's not actually of royal blood and that her father was executed for treason. The wrongful part would sting a little bit as well, even though she would hopefully understand that wasn't the king's fault. And then I think learning that there is or was a bio mom out there would sting, too, especially if she has since died and not being told about her sooner robbed the daughter of the chance to get to know her.
I think in this case, the king would console his daughter by explaining the circumstances of what happened. What he believed was true about her father--the reasons why he was believed to be dangerous and needed to be stopped. As well as the fact that he had been framed by his enemies, so the crown believed he was truly guilty of being a rebel leader. He might also try to explain why they chose to keep this information from her why they kept her instead of giving her back to the bio mom (there would need to be a really good reason), and then he might say some things to drive home how much he and the queen genuinely love her and have always seen her as their true daughter.
I hope that helps!

warning: execution, death

poem i wrote about transphobic queer people in the context of the current state of the US. but really it can be whatever you want
alt text under cut
[ID: A screenshot of a Google doc with a poem. Text reads:
they will come for both of us.
the day the fires are set,
the day our fates are sealed,
we will stand next to each other at the gallows.
you will laugh at me,
sneering that i am to blame for my fate,
as the rope is tightened around your neck.
i will take your hand.
you will pull away.
and as the floor falls beneath our feet,
as your laughter chokes, as you plead to live,
may you finally understand
that we can only face this beast together.
whether you hate me or not.

Let's talk about Moray! Moray is uninteresting in Canon, but I know she really is an interesting character if you look deep down enough, and it's because of this.
"He's lucky he's my brother and your father Moray, so I let him live," so here we see that Coral would’ve killed Shark if it wasn't for Moray (and the fact that she's Shark brother) this implies that Moray does care about Shark enough that it upset her if Shark died. Additionally, have you noticed that Moray's mother is never mentioned? I think it's because she died, how exactly? Well, I believe it's because of Coral. Perhaps when Orca's statue started killing heirs, Moray's mother offered to be a nursery guard? Who could be better than the sister in law of the queen? So Moray's mom was allowed to be the nursery guard, but Coral being Coral wouldn't allow her to eat or sleep and try as Moray's mother might she fell asleep, and Orca's statue smashed the eggs. Coral was enraged so enraged that she executed her violently, Moray and Shark were heartbroken. Moray couldn't believe that her aunt killed her mother. She couldn't. Her aunt wasn't evil, right? But at the same time, Moray knew she had to protect her father, so she tried anything, and she found that when she was agreeable and boring Coral would listen to her and she begrudgingly agreed to not harm Shark.
For years, Moray never got over her mother's death she would tell herself that was impossible and her mom swam into a death trap. When anemone hatched it hurt her, it made her realize the eggs weren't destined to die. Her mother could've still been alive. Her mother could have succeeded in protecting the eggs, and since she couldn't bring herself to blame Coral, she blamed Anemone for everything.
This is why I think Moray is the way she is

you’ve already sort of shown the relationship brian has with religion, but i’m curious about your take on how he felt about galahad considering the whole “preacher” vibe. if we’re moving forwards with the complicated (and negative) relationship he has with religion then how does that translate to how he interacted with galahad? or was is more of a “large passing of time” thing so it wasnt as impactful?
sorry just have DBB thoughts again,,,
oh!!! i love that question a lot! thank u for asking. i was actually just thinking about this, what with my backstory fic about brian. i have many thoughts on this, so i'll set some of my basic thoughts up first and then answer the question once the context is set!
i think hnoc happens by the time carmilla is airlocked (after that second-ish but canon big one where who killed dr. carmilla comes from (i say second cause of a line jonny says in the homesick live, but that's not important here)) and tim, raph, and marius have joined. not entirely sure if this is after or before dr. carmilla comes back (what with her showing up in dr. pilchard with all nine of them), but i lean towards after (which i think this would be after she's kicked out again).
i say all this to explain the fact that i think brian has done a shit ton of healing from when he first joined, so he's definitely a lot better with not judging himself, healing from religious trauma, and working on being more assertive.
i also believe that brian doesn't actually have prophetic powers, at least not to the extent that characters like to bring up. i think he just has good pattern recognition and predicts things well (this leads into ideas of how people will blow up (lie about) people's fame in history and present time as a way of meeting their own ends. basically, i think brian has no part in these rumors, and people just spread it cause he can never escape the false accusations (i autism-code him no matter what apparently /lh)).
this all to say that brian probably found fort galfridian interesting and went down to check it out (it kind of reminded him of the settlement he stayed on in his backstory. his feelings are complicated about it). he goes down there, kind of chilling in the chaos, and then he comes across galahad and i think his first reaction when he sees galahad is "holy shit holy fuck holy-" and he just kind of spirals. cause yeah, he's doing better, but he also does remind him of one of his worst moments, so he may lose it a bit.
this could have maybe led to him being hung in the first place? he could have tried to question galahad's teachings because he worried galahad was using and lying to fort galfridian's people like the priest once did. this obviously causes unrest due to people liking galahad and not the outsider, so he's hung (this is just speculation i've sort of come up with on the spot!). when brian doesn't die from the hanging and continues to not die, the people are like "what the fuck". brian's pissed, and when he's pissed he says some ominous shit (but there is a place deep within him that does want to help the people), so they think he's a prophet and hang him by his ankle.
brian, who's like "well, this is interesting" sticks around cause it's wild, he's invested, and the mechs are a million light years away. he still doesn't trust galahad, however, galahad starts to talk with him, really about anything, a lot cause he finds brian interesting and because he feels bad for trying to kill this guy who was actually a prophet (probably thinks he's sent from god).
as he talks to brian, brian starts to have a change in judgment. he doesn't trust him all that much still, but he begins to realize that he didn't lead with an open mind and that maybe it would be okay to hear him out. he sees that galahad cares deeply about what he does and fully believes what he says to be true. brian is still weary on religion (especially organized ones) as a whole, but he does start to believe that what galahad is doing is better than he first thought. he finds company in galahad and other townspeople and really starts to care about them (and he's had a fucking headache for like a century now. wonderful).
and then the events of the album start to happen. when you're a hanged man in the center of town (idk if that's canon but it is now /lh), you hear a lot of shit: gossip, folklore, daily occurences. brian starts to catalog and connect this info he gathers (he's bored and a scientist; what more could he want?). a bigger picture starts to dawn on him, so he shares the info with the people who come to him (and who he seeks out). he wants to help galahad and tells him about the grail. he hopes that galahad will take the news well, but his reaction worries him, and he begins to regret what he said.
he hears later on about what galahad is doing and what he's saying, and he grows even more worried, seeing parallels between his past and the beliefs galahad begins to hold. brian thinks he's in too deep and tries to stop him, but that doesn't work out. he feels extremely guilty when he hears about galahad's death, and spirals a bit into blaming himself and having thoughts about his past that aren't the best. then he's in a sun for a century, and a good amount of his healing goes out the window. (but at least those lines of healing are still carved into his mind so it will be easier to find those routes and get himself back to healthy a lot faster than it did before (using a metaphor here that i heard and like with how it can be easier to heal once more if those paths of healing are there, fresh, and easy to reach. i was actually told about the opposite, which is why it's so easy to fall back into anxiety or other cycles of negative thinking)).
anyway... i am not one for brevity, apparently (no one is surprised). haven't thought this much about any of the albums before lmao (i usually focus on the mechs themselves abdknkd). but this is quite a fun concept to think about. i also like the idea that galahad is absolutely smitten with brian. it's just really fucking funny to me lmao. i also like to think that brian is just along for the ride whenever it comes ot galahad like, okay, you go you crazy guy.
also, sorry for any discrepancies between this and hnoc canon, i have not faithfully inscribed the entire album and it's info into my mind with long-lasting ink /lh.
thank you for the question, and don't worry! i love your questions and adore that you find my thoughts and writing so interesting and cool! it means the world to me. anyway, thank you again!

Ok cTubbo's still losing it's time for me to whip out the propaganda
I've been mentally ill over this cube man for a year I'm not letting him lose without a fight
So in this I'm going to list all the tragic events in his life in order (although DISCLAIMER I might forget some stuff or get stuff wrong fellow dsmp fans please don't @ me)
He was a child soldier. Canon ages of basically all the characters are dubious at best, but if we go by cc!Tubbo's age he was only 16 at the time of the L'manburg Revolution. That's only one of the THREE wars he fought in but we're going in order and more shit happened in between the L'manburg revolution and the next war he fought in (Manberg v Pogtopia) so PUT A PIN IN THIS
He DIED in the aforementioned L'manburg Revolution. For the unacquainted, characters in the DSMP get 3 "canon" deaths, so you get to die canonically 3 times before dying For Real, so he came back after, but he still DIED, which hurts!
He had to watch his best friend (cTommy) and basically big brother figure (cWilbur) get exiled from the nation THEY HELPED BUILD.
He was forced to be a spy
The aforementioned being a spy...ness lead to him getting EXECUTED. Mind you going by cc!Tubbo's age he STILL was only 16 or 17!
Did I mention the fireworks and the box?!? Ohhh boy. The fireworks and the box. This was his canon event. You know when people say "x never truly left y"? CTubbo never truly left The Box. This is the ROOT of soooo much trauma. He was trapped in a tkiny box and shot to death. First off, he was SHOT TO DEATH WITH FIREWORKS. That is one of the most painful ways to go. You're getting shot to death AND burned to death at the same time. This left him with permanent scarring. Second, he was killed at a festival that HE DECORATED HIMSELF. I could go on and on about why the red festival and Tubbo's execution are tragic as hell but I'll stop here cus I have more shit to cover.
*takes pin out of thd first point* He fought in a war AGAIN
He was appointed president of a country at 17 (again, going by cc!Tubbo's age, also don't quote me on that number he might've still been 16, I don't remember. The point is he was YOUNG. Like, that's a high schooler!(in the US anyway))
His basically older brother figure killed himself immediately after he got appointed president
He was manipulated into exiling his best friend not long after becoming president
He was led to believe said best friend committed SUICIDE while he was in exile (cTommy was alive, but cTubbo thought he was dead for a pretty long while)
Doomsday. Just. All of Doomsday. Finally giving up on L'manburg, the country he'd loved and fought tooth and nail for, and still they lost. He lost. Reconciling with Tomny, his best friend, only not really, because their friendship has been so damaged. Just- EVERYTHING.
Also Doomsday was technically a war so that's the 3rd war he fought in
He tried to sacrifice himself for his best friend.
He INVENTED NUKES. He's literally DSMP Oppenheimer to an extent. He invented nukes because he's had to fight so hard to keep the people and things he loves safe that he went all the way to the extreme of INVENTING NUKES to keep his family safe.
SAID NUKES ENDED UP KILLING HIM
He lost his husband! C!Ranboo fucking died!
He lost his son! Michael was kidnapped MULTIPLE TIMES (at least TWICE) And then thanks to the shitty ass finale making him LOSE HIS FUCKING MEMORY, HE DOESN'T EVEN REMEMBER!!!
He lost his best friend MULTIPLE TIMES (he lost metaphorically Tommy because of exile and how their relationship was damaged, then he thought he'd lost Tommy LITERALLY because he thought Tommy committed suicide in Exile, AND THEN, not long after Tommy got out of Exile, before they could repair their relationship, Tommy DIED. FOR REAL THIS TIME.)
And finally, his story ended not with him getting a chance to heal, but with him dying to his own nuke and then getting memory loss. And him getting memory loss is ALSO tragic in its own way but I won't go into that cus this is getting long.
So yeah here's my propaganda. /rp for all of this. I know I already put c__ in front of most of the names but just in case. I don't want anyone to get confused and think I'm talking about Actual Real Life 19-year-old YouTuber Tubbo.
I'm gonna end this out with this:
I don't know SHIT about Madoka Magica. I've not seen it yet. But I bet Sayaka Miki didn't die THREE times.
[Propaganda]

Say Their Name (tw death and executions)
youtube
This video contains heartrending sounds. This video was taken by a neighbor of Mohsen Shekari family after they received his execution news. He wasn't a nobody, he was someone's loved one. He was executed the morning after there were huge demonstrations in Tehran and other cities. He had told his friends "they're not actually going to execute me. Who would execute someone for scratching another person's skin! [The death sentence] is just to scare people"
There are more people on the death row. Some has already received their sentence some are in danger of getting sentenced to death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mohammad Boroughani is one of the many protesters whose gotten a death sentence. His crime? Chasing a policeman! Accusation? Waging war against God! He along with Saman Seidi and Mohsen Shekari were warned to be in danger of execution two days ago. Now one is executed.
Ali Moazzami, another prisoner on death row is in imminent danger of getting executed.
Sahand NourMohammadzadeh, a body building champion, has also gotten a death sentence. Crime? Putting a garbage container on fire! Accusation? Waging war against God!
Tumblr media
Mohsen karami, iranian Karate champion, is on the death row. Crime? Murder he didn't commit (forced confession). Accusation? Corruption on earth!
Tumblr media
Three Iranian rappers, Toomaj Salehi, Saman Yasin, and Behrad Alikorani are also in danger of getting executed. Crime? Opposing the regime in rap! Accusation? The usual. Waging war against God. Corruption on earth.
Tumblr media
Hamid Ghareh Hasanlou, Iranian doctor and radiology specialist, is currently in the hospital with severe injuries he's gotten from being tortured in prison. He was taken there from prison with at least three broken ribs. There are pictures of him in the hospital I didn't post here because of the triggering quality of them. He was sentenced to death and received his verdict in the hospital bed. His wife, Farzaneh, a lab technician, is also sentenced to death. They were both arrested while in demonstration.
Tumblr media
Hossein Mohammadi another convicted protester, was arrested the same day as the above medic couple. He's a theater actor and he has received his death sentence.
Tumblr media
For more information check #StopExecutionsInIran in twitter.
I don't know how we can stop the executions. There are demonstrations and calls happening in iran. We're trying to share their name to spread awareness. But would that stop the regime? They have no moral code, no face to save. What would literal murderers care about west condemning them? They're killing my people and west still hasn't closed their embassies. They're still considering negotiations with the regime. Europe says the door to conversation is open. USA says we might loosen the sanctions! What do you have to tell to a child-killing murderous regime? Why are they helping the islamic republic?
Imagine waking up and receiving a list of your people on a death row. And then your friend tells you "we're all in the line, God knows when our name is going to be a tag!" I felt that.

Adrenaline - Jack Merridew

Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
His heart drums loud in his chest.
Adrenaline.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
It echoes in his ears. It drowns out the screams, calls, turmoil of voices around him that he couldn't quite identify as human or feral.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
His body is hot. Boiling.
Adrenaline fueling his veins.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
An indescribable feeling of need. His life depends on it and he doesn't know why. But he knows he have to continue.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
A confusion of bodies rubbing against each other. Sharing the sweat and heat. They need to reach out at something. The same thing he's looking for. Hands and spears shoot out and he opens his way through the screams and bodies and sweat.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
At last he reaches the core. The heart beating so hard it hurts.
Suddenly he is aware of the knife in his hand.
Suddenly he knows what to do.
Adrenaline.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
He grabs a handful of golden fur from the thing that squealed like a wild pig and pulls it up, exposing its throat.
Adrenaline.
The knife in his hand. He knows what to do.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
Blood spills.

The knife guides his hand. Stab. Rip.
Tum-dum. Kill it.
Tum-dum. Cut the throat.
Tum-dum. Spill the blood.
He pulls its head back further. The knife goes deeper, cutting muscles, nerves, vessels. Blood stains on everything. The metallic smell invades his nostrils.
Adrenaline. Power.
Kill it. Cut the throat. Spill the blood.
The knife trips on the vertebrae. The rough feeling reverberates up his arm and he has a nervous shiver. He pulls more and presses down on the knife. Cuting skin and flesh and riping through bones.
And he lifts the head with both hands.
The empty eyes stare back at him and it's a human face. A familiar face.
Kill it. Cut the throat. Spill the blood.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
.
Jack wakes up with a jump.
Covered in sweat. Wide eyes. The bitter taste of bile in his throat as he forces himself to swallow.
In the silence of his room.
He could still smell the disgusting blood in his sticky hands - of sweat, nothing else. His heart is still pounding in his ears deafeningly.
His whole body shakes.
He doesn't know whether from fear or adrenaline. Was that a nightmare?
Adrenaline.
His eyes runs in the darkness of his bedroom looking for something he doesn't know what. He grabs his cell phone from the headboard and checks the time.
3:12 am.
He runs a shaky hand through his sweat-dampened hair. Takes a deep breath.
Adrenaline still fills his veins.
Jack looks at the luminous screen of the device pressed in his fingers. He still feels the blood sticking under his fingernails - his hands are clean. He remember the cold touch of the knife. The screen light helps to avoid the images that came when he closes his eyes.
Two unread notifications.
Roger.
With trembling fingers he opens the chat.
Two images sent.
He doesn't have click and load them to know the content. He deletes them along with the images the friend had sent the night before.
Photos of bodies torn apart in the road accident from earlier this week and a video of an execution in a country at war. These are Roger's usual night share. His good material.
Jack has no idea where the emo guy find this stuff. It wasn't the first neither it will be the last time he sent that type of content in the middle of the night.
But Jack wouldn't tell him to stop either.
He doesn't want his friend to think he is getting soft.
His heart is still pounding in his ears though.
He knows that face.
Tum-dum. Tum-dum. Tum-dum.
