Probably has a pet lizard that he called Iroh Jr -adorably nicknamed little dragon- because his uncle is the person who gifted him the lizard, and zuko felt it fitting to name it after the man who had practically raised him while spoiling it rotten all the time.
Has perfected your favourite drink right down to a science. He knows he’s not great a brewing tea like Iroh, despite how much his uncle tried to save his feelings after taking the first sip, Zuko didn’t need much else to tell him that his brewing abilities could use some work.
He’s a determined boy who doesn’t give up so easily. Yeah he’d naturally get annoyed and feel as though he’d have a better time giving up than go ahead with another failed attempt. However uncle Iroh saw this determination and encouraged his nephew in his endeavours and remained calm and patient when Zuko grew agitated and annoyed by the lack of progress.
Zuko did get there soon enough and now whenever you came to the tea shop, Zuko could finally make your drink a hell of a lot better than most tea shops could. He’s proud of this fact and will unironically puff his chest like a proud bird when you praised his tea brewing skills, noting just how better they’ve gotten overtime.
Another date idea would be tea brewing with his uncle, while it might not sound like a date but trust me it very much is after Iroh decides to leave Zuko to teach you how to brew tea, which ends in you two coming up with silly, stupid names for your brews that ultimately ends in tears due to how hard you’ve laughed.
Oh Zuko defiantly introduced you to Iroh jr and needless to say it’s become a running joke that you only come to his house just to see his pet lizard, who is equally as attached to you as you are to him. Zuko will pout and huff like a little child at the fact that he didn’t have your undivided attention, but loves the bond you’ve made with Iroh jr nonetheless and finds it’s adorable.
Am I insinuating that’s he got pictures of your interactions? Oh yes indeed I am.
Zuko has probably been to an arcade once and never again because he got bested by a little kid at the claw machine, who had won the plush that he wanted to win for you easily. It was hilarious to bear witness to it all, but you were stuck with a sulking Zuko, who needed a lot of praise and comfort afterwards that you were more than willing to give him.
You: you tried your best babe.
Zuko: but it wasn’t enough, you had your eye on that plush and I failed to get it.
You: it’s okay because I’ve got the perfect alternative.
Zuko: and what’s that?
*You then proceed to hug him tightly and kiss his cheek as steam practically emitted from him and smile* I’ve got you.
Zuko: o-okay!

From fire lord azulon to his sons and his grandchildren, everyone in the royal family had the respect of the nation. There had been someone in the royal family that seem to burn by her own candle flame, the youngest grandchild of fire lord and youngest daughter or ozai and ursa. The princess that seem to be called by her people and other the kindhearted princess.

azula " i don't get you my sister you are from one the most important and powerful family here, and you decide to be always peaceful even towards our enemies"
y/n " azula they are just like us and I don't like the who idea of using my title and bending to get people to do anything"
azula " so I will have to worry about you as well"
y/n " azula"
azula " i will be leaving to go look for the avatar and Zuzu along with uncle"

azula " i will be good but I will come home vicarious"
y/n " yes sister" azula and you had spent some time together as she was planning her trip to leave, the next day she had left home to go after the avatar and the rest of the family.
ozai " my daughter I have called you here so we can speak"
y/n " yes father"
ozai " now that your brother and sister are gone, thing around here will be changing"
y/n " I understand father"
ozai " good as your duty if being princess of the fire nation, you have a image to uphold and duties as well ... I know you will do them well being their for the family and nation, but you need to know that your ability of kindness could be seen a weakness you can't always let your kindness rule over you when you are in changer of stuff my daughter"
y/n " I know father but this how I'm"
ozai " I know I know my child but I need you to know, that you can't always be kind when it come to our people or anyone else"
y/n " yes father but I will always make sure our family and people are good, even if they are fire nation or not"
ozai " that what I love to hear my daughter now you are free to go, as I have a meeting with the generals and sages"
y/n " yes father take care"
ozai " you as well my daughter" you soon bowed to your father as you soon left the throne room, as the meeting was getting ready to start. You are walking down the hall way of the palace looking at the portraits, of the royal family member past and present. You had thought about everyone words, and you were going to stick to being yourself as that is something you love dearly no matter what everyone else had to say about it.

Poison Ivy: Pyrrha, Dear, You are one of the strongest fighters of your generation, and you have the power of magnestism. Anyone who doesn't respect you should fear you, and those that do neither shouldn't be able to mistreat you. You could likely ask this boy to walk off a cliff and he'd do it.
Poison Ivy: You could run this world Dear, and few could stand in your way.
Pyrrha: I- I- I think I should ask my sister- Thank you for the Confidence boost though?

Makima (CSM): He sounds Cute. Almost like a dog.

Makima: If he was smart, then he would've jumped at the chance to be with you by now
Pyrrha: Well what if he's just scared - he knows how I feel about how the public treats me, so he's also ... Yeah. Yeah! I'm gonna confess to him!
Makima: I don't know-
Pyrrha: No! I'm going to tell him how I feel! Thanks Makima! *Pyrrha leaves*
Makima: ... Shit.
Monika: Nice going. Now we have to compete with her too.
Makima: ... It's easy to beat an opponent who doesn't realize they're playing a game, Little Sister.
Monika: I'd usually suggest removing the player but Pyrrha is ... Different.
Makima: Yes, She is. We'll need to be coercive about this.
Monika: When am I not?
Makima: ... Get out of my room.
~Ren~
Ren: Good morning 'Uncle'
Iroh (ALTA): pah! There's no need for the emphasis. I'd love to be your Uncle, but if you don't feel like you're my nephew, then Don't bother Lying. What's wrong?
Ren: Nothing. Is it too much to want to come see my mentor?
Iroh: No, but I can tell there is still a storm in your heart.
Ren: ... I would not like to talk about it right now.
Iroh: Alright then. I could put tea on. Whatever you'd like.
Ren: Nightshade, if it isn't too much trouble.
Iroh: Daring today, aren't we? Very well then!
~~~~~
Ren: Alex! It's good to see you again! You look ... Happy.
Alex Chen (LiS: True Colors): *Gives Ren a hug* I am. I've- I found someone. It's been wonderful - Her names Steph! You look good too- I can tell you're in a better spot than you were when we were kids.
Ren: Me and Nora have a big Family now- teammates and friends. It's nice.
Alex: All it takes is a little growing up, huh?
Ren: A little growing up, a lot of support- But you knew that didn't you?
Alex: Well, you always did have sharp eyes.
Ren: ... Thanks. That means a lot. Should we get something to eat, or do you want to walk for a bit?
Alex: I'm down for whatever.
hi! could i request the octavinelle trio, riddle rosehearts and vil schoenheit with a “go with the flow” wise type s/o, like when they first arrived in twisted wonderland they were rather chill about it and said something about letting fate guide them and being scarily nonchalant about being taken to an entire different universe!!! they spew random advice all the time which turns out to always be helpful and because people at nrc are usually very standoffish seeing someone giving them random advice and a parting line like “ you did not ask for advice but it’s advice you needed, may you find peace in yourself” and just drifting away is so bizarre?? very much a pacifist and will try to avoid fighting, but if they have to fight they will absolutely win, clean your wounds that they caused give you a world changing life lesson, basically a oogway/uncle iroh mix s/o and g/n please! because just imagining a person from another universe basically outsmarting and out wording an entire school with meditation, tea and an hour long conversation is really funny in my head! love your work so much!
For the advice given in each character, read it aloud. It will make sense as to why I worded the phrases that way… except for Vil’s.
Tumblr media
Riddle Rosehearts
Is most definitely concerned about your mental health and wellbeing. You were literally transported to a whole other world and your response was I guess this is where the universe has led me.
Once, Riddle was angry (when is he not) at Ace for ‘tarnishing the name of the Heartslabyul dorm and therefore the Queen herself’. You just put a calming hand on his shoulder and told him: You didn’t ask for advice but it’s advice you need for if you look within yourself, you will then feel complete.
It only became apparent when he overblotted and you packed him the f up (respectfully and out of necessity) that he was standing in his own way. He asked how you knew he needed to be told that and you shrugged, telling him that his vibes were just off but he had potential as you sat patching him up.
From that day on, he will join you in your meditation schedule because he knows that it can be very calming. He’s noticeably calmed down and became more lenient towards rule-breakers. Sure, they still get punished, but they get punished by adding more chores rather than collaring them.
Tumblr media
Azul Ashengrotto
He is intrigued by your unique way of thinking compared to the other humans he has met. In fact, he can’t recall ever meeting a mer-person like this either. He was a bit surprised to hear you say I guess the wind shifted the sails after being teleported to Twisted Wonderland.
Once, when Azul was worried about losing profit and you just appeared out of nowhere and told him: You’re forgetting to take care of yourself because you worry about money, but it’s all for nothing. Now isn’t that funny?
It wasn’t until after his overblot that he realized the true meaning behind your words. He was just too dumb to notice. As you patched him up, he told you about his revelation and you giggled and said: Right on, man. Knew you’d get there eventually.
You will help him out with lessening his workload just so he has time to look after himself. Whenever he feels his stress levels rising, you lead him in some meditation. Your voice was just so gentle that he was having trouble not falling asleep. He tries to pay you for your efforts but you refuse, saying the universe brought you for a reason and that reason was to help a cecaelia in distress.
Tumblr media
Jade Leech
He has somewhat similar viewpoints. He’s a go-with-the-flow person as well, and won’t often be derailed by inconveniences. However, he loves resorting to violence, which goes against your ideology.
Once, you saw that Jade was ‘hugging’ someone because they accidentally knocked over one of his mushroom planters and you came by and said: Bro, if you don’t let this go… it will drag you down deeper, more than you know
Of course, when he didn’t stop, you resorted to the last option. Absolutely smacking the shit out of him with a broom. Of course, you applied ice to the bruises and helped him, but this ordeal gave him a taste of a different side of you.
You’re actually glad to hear that he likes gardening, because it’s such a calming activity that allows you to give back to Mother Earth. You often go to his room or the greenhouse to meditate so that you can be one with nature. He joins you every once in a while, but no more than twice a week.
Tumblr media
Floyd Leech
We all know how this man is. Mood swings left and right, ‘violence is always the solution’ mentality, the list goes on. He finds it amusing how you just randomly teleported here and your first words were: Fate has given me another adventure today.
Once, when Floyd was in a depressive mood, you came by and sat next to him. He was about to send you away when you said: Dude, your chakras aren’t aligned, not like how nature had you designed.
He didn’t get it at all until he actually observed you. You were always peaceful and serene, often found in a positive mood. It wasn’t until once when you pushed him away to save a baby bird outside that you gave off a negative vibe.
Floyd then decides to tag along with you. He still plays basketball, but he meditates and always makes time to go on walks to relieve stress. You’ve even given him mint and chamomile tea bags because they had soothing properties. Nowadays, he’s usually happy save for that once-in-a-blue-moon.
Tumblr media
Vil Schoenheit
He also found it amusing how your first words were: The energy this place gives off is totally wack, but I’m vibing with it not gonna lie. Well, in case you didn’t know, everyone picks up on your wacky energy as well.
You once saw Vil angry because Epel wasn’t complying with his skincare routine, so you came by and said: You two are completely different species. How do you expect a crocodile and an anaconda to get along?
This went for everyone he couldn’t control, and he didn’t understand until after his overblot when you were the one tending to his wounds. You had apologized for resorting to violence, but he understood because it was necessary.
Now, he incorporates meditation into his yoga. He will often invite you over as well so that you could be yoga buddies and keep the other on-track. Vil noticed that he’s become more positive recently, all thanks to you.
Read now on Ao3 at https://ift.tt/AC0okmU by Rion_in_2 “I know you’re there,” The prisoner said suddenly, and Sokka flinched. His voice was raspy, yet somewhat soft at the same time. It made him sound younger than Sokka imagined him to be. “What? You’re not being very subtle,” Sokka felt his throat bob nervously. “Umm… sorry?” The prisoner didn’t move, and Sokka chose his words carefully - he might as well try and make friendly with the dude, lower his chance of being murdered in his sleep. “I’m Sokka. I don’t suppose you have a name?” There was a silence, and Sokka imagined he too was choosing his best option. “Lee,” A nice, common Fire Nation name, if the scrolls he’d read were anything to go by. The Dragon's Keep (part 5)
*Finished*
Fire Lord Zuko x (Fem!) Reader
Adult Zuko (if it wasn't clear before he is in his early 20s and has been firelord for a few years now.)
Part 1 Part 6. Masterlist
Tumblr media
You are a firebender named Ayushi, who has been accepted to guard over the royal family. You end up guarding Zuko through his travels to visit the sun warriors. The mission, protecting the newest dragons, begins.
⚠️ warning- I would say 18 plus. Partial nudity, nothing too graphic. Also, a death is mentioned heavily.
Tumblr media
You put on your pajamas, and Zuko walked into the room. Kiyi ran into the room and sat on Zuko's bed. "Can you tell me a bedtime story, Yushi?" She asked happily.
You sat down on your bed. "Yes, of course."
Zuko sat on the bed that kiyi was laying in. You began the story, and not long after, she was already asleep. The excitement of the day had lulled her to sleep quickly. Zuko picked up his sister and brought her to her room, laying her down in her bed.
You stood up, making sure your bag was packed. Zuko followed the plan. He knocked on his Uncles door.
"Nephew. It is late, what can do for you?"
"Uncle, I need a favor, but it has to stay between us." Zuko stepped into the room as Iroh opened the door for him. "I am taking Ayushi to see the sun warriors. Can you please cover for me here."
"Our lives are not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. You both go, share that moment together, Lord Zuko. I can handle things here for a while. I'll tell your mother I know nothing about you sneaking out with the girl. I will take care of the nation for you, nephew. Your mother just went to her room. Watch for the warriors. They are posted all the way out to the coast line."
"Thank you, Uncle." He pulled him into a hug. They both knew how much they meant to one another without explanation. Iroh was like a father to him, someone he could always count on.
"I will be back in a few days' time. A week at most." Zuko said before disappearing.
You grabbed your things as zuko entered the room. "Is this really happening?" You asked quietly. He nodded. "How are we getting there?"
"I have a ship meeting us eight docks away. They will be there around the time we get there." He spoke softly.
Zuko pulled his top knot off and ruffled his hair. He grabbed a commoner outfit. You had already changed into your outfit while he talked with his uncle.
"I have to change, but going out there is dangerous with the warriors' lerking." His tinted cheeks were covered by his hair. He pulled off his silk top and threw on his tunic. You looked away, blushing heavily as he finished dressing.
He grabbed his bag and looked over at you. "Come on. Let's go." He whispered. You jumped up following him. You both slipped out the window. You both snuck around the guards hiding in the shadows. You walked carefully around, never being spotted.
You both made it to the docks, but you are still not quite home free. You snuck ahead, looking around to make sure no one was watching that area. You were waving over when you had your name called. Hua was standing at the road. She walked towards you.
"What are you doing out here? And why do you look so giddy?" Hua smirked, raising her eyebrow. A smile on your lips hiding your guilt.
"I'm just out getting some air. I just have some things on my mind." You trailed trying to fight the guilt from appearing on your face.
"Yeah... sure. A lot on your mind. You put some thought into Lord Zuko, or is he still untouchable 'being a royal.' "
"We kissed. That's why I'm out here thinking it over. I really just wanted some space it's a lot to think about. I just want to be by myself for a little bit."
"I told you. I'll see you around Princess. Do your thinking, and then we are sitting down and talking about this. I need all the details." Hua walked away, and you just slowly walked up the trail, keeping a watch and then waving for Zuko to follow you once it was clear.
"We never kissed?" He almost sounded offended.
"I'm sorry, I'm not great under pressure. We almost got caught." You both hid in the shadows.
"What did she tell you? She said, 'I told you."
"Can we talk about this later? We're kinda trying to escape incredibly talented warri-"
Your back pressed against his chest as a warrior passed. He had cut you off, covering your mouth and grabbing your waist, pulling you close to him.
The warrior passed by. He released you, and as much as you wanted to stay wrapped in his arms, you moved to the next few shadows. You both took off running once you were out of the woods warriors were far behind.
You both slowed down, walking alongside each other.
"I think we're safe." You both caught your breath, your laughs mixing with his.
You both walked at a slower pace, and the waves crashed along the shore in the distance.
"So about the 'I told you'..." zuko trailed
"Well... she..uh.." You tried your best to come up with a way to say it, but every way you'd say, it sounded just as bad as it was.
"She told me that you liked me." You spit it out. "Don't worry, I told her you didn't and that I couldn't like the fire lord. You're royalty, and I'm no realistic suitress... I kinda just screwed that up, though telling her I kissed you. I'll tell her you denied me when we get back. Let's just get to the dragons. We can deal with the mess when we get back."
"Yeah. We can deal with it then." Zuko walked along the path. He was quietly listening to the waves.
You felt nerves building. You wanted to tell him the truth, but you held back in fear that he would deny you and make this whole trip awkward. You walked beside him, not quite able to break the silence.
You both walked for a while before you finally spoke. "Where are we going?" You look around at the change of scenery. The moon provided enough light. You both were walking down a street lined with houses.
"We are going to the meeting point. It's three docks down from here."
"Then where?" You  asked, not really sure what else to talk about to break the silence.
"The eastern air temple. Aang has been rebuilding it. I told the general I was going to visit an old friend. From there, we go on foot to where the dragons are."
"Are you excited to see them again?" You continued
"Yes. I am more excited to watch you see them. We will have to do the dancing dragon when we get there. They will have to accept you." Zuko spoke honestly.
"And what if they dont?" You questioned.
"I wouldn't worry about it. They accepted me." He was failing at being reassuring.
"Zuko, you're the firelord. Of course, they accepted you..." You trailed in fear.
"Not at the time. I was a banished prince who was committing treason to the  firenation. I had lost my ability to firebend. I could barely send fire into the air." He replied.
"You're one of the greatest benders in the nation. I can't imagine that." You spoke.
"I wasn't always. I had to learn a lot, more than just bending. I had to make decisions about my life." He answered while continuing down the path.
"I think you made some good decisions." You tried to comfort.
"I think so, too." He smiled softly, meeting your gaze.
"What was it like being banished? Where did you go?" You questioned.
"It was the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. I traveled all over the world trying to capture the Avatar just to end up working with him to take my father's place on the throne."
"It must have been nice to see other places." You tried to bring the positive out.
"Everyone hated me and tried to kill me." Zuko spoke bluntly. You turned your gaze to him. "Ba sing se was nice though. I worked in a tea shop with my uncle. No one in the walls knew about the war."
"At least you had some peace." You continued walking and watched the path in front of you.
"What about you? What were you doing during the war?"
"My family was joining together with others to try to help each other. I was learning firebending and stealing food and medicine when I could. My mother got sick, and it caused her body to shut down because she couldn't eat. My father starved after that. He gave me every bit of food we had to me because I was losing weight quickly from getting sick. I healed right before he passed, but it was too late."
"I wish my Father was a better man."  Zuko whispered.
"You have undone so much of his doings already. You're the better man our nation needs. I'm sorry you're having to clean up his mess..." You trailed
"I hope I am, I'm trying my best to clean it up." He paused. "What do you think your parents would say if they saw you now?"
You giggled softly. "I think about it a lot. That's what I was laughing about before you taught me the dancing dragon. I think they would be proud of me. I think they would be shocked at how far I've come. Especially being a royal guest in the Ember Islands. If I were to tell them dragons were alive, then I think they wouldn't believe me and just thought I went crazy."
"I'm excited for you to see them." Zuko reached his hand out, entangling his fingers to yours.
"I'm excited too."
Zuko walked to the ship that waited at the dock. He walked up the deck with your hand in his. "General. Good to see you again."
The General bowed to Lord Zuko. "You as well. Where to, Lord Zuko?"
"The eastern Air Temple." Zuko answered.
"Yes, Lord Zuko." The general led his crew to set sail for the Eastern Air temple.
"General, This is Ayushi. She gets the royal treatment as a... guest." He seemed to hesitate not wanting to call you a guest.
"Yes, Lord Zuko, could I get anything for you and Lady Ayushi." The general asked politely.
Zuko looked at you with a questioning look.
You shook your head no.
"No, not right now, General. Thank you." Zuko led you to the door, your hands still entangled, filing under the deck down the stairs. The halls reminded Zuko of his time of avatar hunting. He walked to a door that was closed. He opened the door and led you inside, closing the door. He lit the torches around the room. It was a bedroom. "I thought you'd like to rest. It will take us to midday tomorrow to get there."
You sat your bags down and bent down to pull out your sleepwear. Zuko took the hint and turned around. You pulled off the commoner clothes and replaced them.
"What about you? You need to rest too."
"I'll be fine." He spoke simply.
"Are you going to leave? I don't want to be in here alone. This is a very different place. Being surrounded by water and sea bound soldiers isn't very comforting to sleep." Vulnerablity seething through your words.
"I will keep you safe." He placed his hand on the small of your back, guiding you to the bed. "Promise you'll stay..." You trailed. You were always surrounded by kyoshi warriors when you were sleeping either outside or inside the room. This all male ship wasn't exactly your choice of comforting places to be.
"I promise." You took his word and trusted them.
"I don't mind if we share the bed. I know you must be tired too."
"Would it make you more comfortable?" He questioned.
"Yes." You answered softly, knowing no man would walk in and mess with a girl who was laying beside the Firelord. Zuko grabbed the clothes from his bag and changed into the silk pants. He laid in the bed beside you. His chest was bare. You looked away from the scar in the middle of his chest. You had seen it before and assumed it was the same as the scar over his eye, not wanting attention drawn to it.
"My sister shot me with lightning. I redirected it." He knew you had seen the scar.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to... it's just right in the middle, and you have a really nice...body." Your cheeks burned. You finished the sentence hesitantly knowing it was too late to stop.
Zuko smirked, wanting so badly to press further he decided to press some. "You think so?" He faced you laying on his side. His hand resting on his cheek, propping himself up. The sheets covered his waist, leaving just enough to the imagination.
"Zuko... don't make me say it again." You replied breathlessly. Your head fought your eyes from roaming, but they were failing terribly. His body was built. The scars only intrigued your mind more.
"I think you do too." He complimented. before laying down on his back. The distance in the two was inches but seemed more like miles. You were craving to close the distance. He wouldn't dare to move, not after you said you were uncomfortable on the all male ship. He knew what you were scared of and certainly wasn't going to chance, making you scared of him. You wouldn't make the first move. Even with every word and sign pointing to Hua being right, you still didn't want to attempt to cross the lines. In fear, she was wrong, and he just liked teasing you with no feelings attached.
You laid on your side facing Zuko, battling your judgments before falling asleep peacefully.
Your eyes fluttered open. Your legs entangled with Zuko. His chest rose and fell. Your arm was draped over his side. His arms held you, protecting you and staying with you just as he'd promised. You closed your eyes, just consuming the moment.
Some time went by, and you felt his breathing speed up slightly.
Zuko lifted his eyes, seeing you holding on to him. Your eyes were closed, just hoping this would last just a little longer. Zuko's arms tighten around you, and then he relaxed, trailing his finger up and down your spine, sending chills. You hummed softly. He pulled his hand away.
A loud knock sounded at the door. "Yes?" He questioned through the door. "Lord Zuko, we will be at the eastern air temple soon." The general answered, not opening the door.
You stretched and then opened your eyes.  "Good morning, Zuko," you spoke sleepily.
"Good morning, Ayushi. The general said we would be there soon."
Your voice was airy and soft. "I don't want to get up yet." The silk hugged your curves. Your hair was tossed around. The torches were flickering around accentuating the skin peeking through the silk where you had tossed and turned, causing ties to loosen through the night.
"We can stay in bed until we get there." Zuko was fighting for control seeing you so vulnerable was tempting. The battle was being lost, and his thoughts were searching in a lustful direction.
"No, I need to get up to get ready." You sat up in the bed on your knees. The silk shifted, and your skin was revealed further. You fixed your hair tossing it back, and your top opened the tie, completely breaking free on your robe. There was a line of skin showing in the middle of your chest.
You slipped off the bed before he lost all inhibitions. You grabbed your clothes and started to change. You didn't mind if he was watching or not. The crush was solidifying, and his thoughts about you were becoming more clear by the hour. If he did feel a certain way about you, you decided you'd push him to admit it.
Your silk top fell to the floor.
Headcanon that even when they’ve all reconciled, Zuko, Iroh and Azula don't say 'I love you' a lot. It’s unneeded. They have their own ways with each other that say it; such as the way Zuko and Azula have their own ways of brewing tea for Iroh.
The way Iroh helps Zuko by reminding him to take care of himself and cleaning his office while he tends to his personal care, or will occupy dignitaries and masterfully change subjects when Zuko finds that awkward side of him rising. Iroh pats his shoulder, squeezing it to remind him he’s right there and to take a moment while he guffaws with the guests. The ways Iroh knows Zuko’s favorite tea and snacks and bath essentials, down to what the maids wash his bedsheets with. The continued care of his scars, the meditation and reminders to sit up straight at his desk and stretch after hours of paperwork. Reminders to go outside and just lie in the grass and breathe for the Nation is he serving; but to serve himself and remember why he is so proud to be Fire Lord and the man he wants to be while serving - and he always sneaks Zuko an early dessert once a week with a wink while they maids shout at him.
Iroh also makes sure to do the same for Azula; she’ll work until she’s frayed but then uncle comes along to close up all of her scrolls one by one until he has to wrestle the one she’s working on out of her hands and he pulls her outside for meditation in the garden. Finding balance is hard after being raised without it; they both know this and are susceptible to finding themselves lost in their extremes. He sits her down around flowers, with tea and snacks and they sit and meditate and he tells her to vent; which she does, and he listens. She finds herself often going backwards; citing how something reminds her of Ozai; reminds her of her mother; reminds her of herself as a child. When she becomes emotional and tries to speak ill of herself as a child, Iroh immediately stops her. ‘That child is still you; and she has come a long, long way; and I am happy to be spending this time with her’.
Zuko’s love language for Azula is allowing her lots of space for venting without saying anything. Sometimes they do paperwork in each other’s offices and neither say anything about it; but they know something’s up. Azula will barge in, arms full of scrolls, quill in her mouth and her brow creased in a rage and Zuko nods and goes back to his own paperwork as he scoots it to one side and Azula sits across him. It’s in the ways they go out into the Fire Nation to see people, who are still surprised that the siblings are working so well together these days. It’s not always perfect - the two still argue about what they believe is the best course of action in some cases, but Zuko’s listening skills have improved and Azula is much less dismissive of Zuko’s more flawed ideas; instead they now find ways to strengthen them with more constructive criticism, to which Zuko has learned to accept (that was a fun mediation for Iroh is helping them both find ways to give and accept ideas from each other; he needed a long trip to Ember Island once they started actually working together); but now that they can talk and see on a better level, they’ve become so much better at casual discussions of their youth. And Zuko no longer dismisses Azula’s pain; and he often goes out of his way to get her to open up when he can see it in her face that old feelings are coming back up. He now actively smiles and jokes with her, and they are great at entertaining guests when it’s just the two of them, between Azula’s wit and Zuko’s sarcasm, there’s never a dull moment. Zuko always thanks Azula now at the end of the day, complete with a smile and a side hug for the siblings as they walk down the hall; ‘I couldn’t do this without you’ he says.
Azula’s for Zuko is similar to Iroh’s but instead she pushes more for Zuko to break out of his shell more. But she’s come to the conclusion that Zuko is Zuko, still awkward, still fumbly, still prone to frustration and anger issues true to their element. Azula has worked on her own, which are like a match. She learned how to repress everything, condensing it into the ferocity of her words, and when sparked, her actions are deadly and precise. So she makes sure they have plenty of time to spar and firebend around each other. It was another pastime that took a while to become adjusted to; after all, their Agni Kai was... a whole thing. So when Azula once jokingly offered to Zuko that he needed to let some steam off and have a good fight and she playfully put up her fists, she saw the horror in his eyes and backed down when he said ‘Azula I’m not going to fight you’. That awkward earnestness, again. She laughed. ‘I know; because this time I would win; I mean just come on and let’s have training day. No winners; just vent a little. Get some anger out. You need it.’ And what begins as a first mild sparring day turns into a once-a-week training match that they’ve become comfortable in training with each other and they often let loose. Azula tells Zuko when he’s being too erratic and he knows when to listen. She helps him gather his emotions, and he helps her release her pent up feelings. They now deal in honesty and being up front as well as support and working on verbalizing concerns before things spiral.
Azula’s love language for Iroh is sometimes hard to see. Azula, still barb-tongued and with such quick sarcasm she’s turned away before you can realize what she’s said, is understood immediately by her uncle, who shoots back his own barbs that make her excited. They have unearthed a connection with their with and words that Zuko cannot fathom, but it also shows a pain between two perfectionist, militarian royals. On the days surrounding that of Lu Ten’s birth and death, she quells her words; and instead, replaces them with just being around him and ensuring he’s not staring off into the abyss. She’ll offer a game of Pai Sho, or to join her in going out into the capitol for some shopping, or a day at the theater. True words of emotion are sparse, but actions with meaning are so much more between these two. The two find more of their words in their similarities and the pasts that brought them up in the horrors they faced and the horrors they inflicted on the world and their families. Words cannot take those horrors away; but actions - touching a shoulder, a gaze and a listening ear, and holding a hand as another weeps, means more than anything vocalized between them.
Zuko’s love language for Iroh is allowing the old man the sound of his laughter more often, and going on lighthearted excursions. Again, out into town, or the theater, or sometimes just to the garden to enjoy lunch. Zuko, who gave his uncle so much hardship, now only wants to see the older man happy - but Iroh reminds Zuko that he doesn’t have to pretend he’s always happy, because Iroh will support Zuko no matter what; just like Azula. Zuko, thus, in turn, often just asks his uncle to talk. It doesn’t matter what, just talk. Zuko, who had been so angry and dramatic, just wants to hear more stories from his uncle. And he listens, and smiles. Sometimes the stories are harsher, sometimes Iroh needs to recollect a moment from his days as crown prince that is weighing heavy on his mind, and gives Zuko something to chew on as Fire Lord. Zuko makes certain to remember these moments Iroh tells him about; and he brings them up in later conversations and Iroh lights up and says ‘you WERE listening!’. Zuko ensures the tea in the palace is fresh; that Lu Ten’s portrait hangs proudly in Iroh’s room, and that Iroh’s name is no longer soiled by Ozai’s propaganda; but Iroh tells Zuko it is not his place to make the people believe anything they don’t want to. Zuko’s greatest love language to Iroh is simply listening and taking his advice to heart; and when he sees Iroh’s reaction to the realization that Zuko was indeed listening, he can’t help but hope he’s making his uncle proud.
Azula’s happiest moments
I’ve been rewatching the entire atla series with the intent of focusing on Azula the most. Every time I think I know all there is to know about Azula, I learn new things because she’s such a complex and interesting character. In this rewatch I noticed some scenes where I think Azula was truly happy.
Tumblr media
In Return to Omashu, Azula recruits Mai and Ty Lee for her mission. Even though she needed them because they are very skilled, Mai with her knives and Ty Lee with her chi-blocking, I still think that Azula was genuinely happy to see them. She was very happy when Ty Lee hugged her and she told Mai that it was great to see her. They were absolutely her friends, and she did like spending time with them.
Tumblr media
In Zuko Alone, Ursa calls Zuko and Azula so they can read the letter that their Uncle Iroh sent them from the war front. Azula laughs along with Zuko and Ursa at Uncle Iroh’s joke. Azula looks genuinely happy to spend time with her mother and brother and looks excited when she is told she was sent a gift. Her and Zuko even share an excited look.
Tumblr media
In The Crossroads of Destiny, I think that Azula was genuinely happy that Zuko would be returning home with her. She didn’t have to comfort him when he was worried about their father not restoring his honor, but she did. She was also obviously happy about having succeeded in conquering Ba Sing Se, which is something her other family members had tried and failed to do.
Tumblr media
In The Beach, Azula gives Zuko, Mai, and Ty Lee the idea to destroy Chan’s house. They happily do this, and after, Azula looks genuinely happy with Ty Lee, Mai, and Zuko. I think those were one of the few moments were she experienced true human connection with others. Azula truly looked happy to be part of the group.
I believe those were some of the few moments of happiness that Azula had. Throughout most of her life however, I believe that on average Azula was not happy. She did not feel truly loved by either of her parents and I honestly don’t know whether she thought Zuko loved her or not. We know that he did, but whether Azula did or not is a different story. I really hope that in this new Azula comic she is allowed some moments of happiness at least. I really hope that isn’t too much too ask.
What can you say about this argument? It is not the first time I have met the opinion that Aang does not understand and does not know the culture of his people, and therefore his communication with Katara in TSR is hypocritical and childish.
https://www.tumblr.com/katara-stan-club/729249409205944320/i-saw-someone-make-the-argument-that-aang-is-not
*sighs eternally* Not that moron and their awful "arguments" again.
"Aang has a child's understanding of his culture"
And what about it? In case you haven't noticed, he IS a child. You think Zuko doesn't have a teenager's understanding of his own culture, of the war itself, etc? And that Katara's view of her culture has not changed, and will continue to change, as she grows older?
Not to mention, "mentaliy shared by most adults, but by basically none of the kids" doesn't immediately translate to "correct mentality." Again, just look at Zuko.
At 13 he spoke out against a room full of generals, and in front of his very abusive father who is also the absolute monarch, in defense of the soldiers they were about to betray and let the enemy slaughter. He knew his nation was killing innocents left and right and he WAS taught to see that as normal and even good, but he, a child, had assumed this "cruel, but justified" behavior would never extend to their own people as that would be cruel and unncessary .
At 16 however, he has almost fully internalized the idea that "If the Fire Lord says something must be done, then he is correct, because he is the Fire Lord and he can't ever be wrong", hence him betraying Iroh, who is not only not from the Fire Nation but also HIS UNCLE, and calling him a fool for not helping him and Azula take Ba Sing Se for Ozai - ya know, Iroh's younger brother that stole his crown and burned his nephew in front of him?
"Children often doesn't see the things the same way adults do" is a neutral statement that does not imply either side is fully or even partially correct. This is a completely pointless "argument" to hate on Aang.
"The show didn't challenge Aang's childlike assumption that forgiveness would magically fix everything"
Yes, it did. It's funny how zutarians go on and on about TSR as an episode, yet NEVER remember anything about the ending of said episode, expect for Zuko and Katara hugging.
Aang did initially assume that forgiving that awful man would be what Katara would need to move on he caused her. It makes sense not only considering the airnomads were pacifists, but also that forgiveness seems to be what personally works for Aang - which IS realistic, because while that doesn't work for everyone, it is absolutely how some people find closure.
However, Avatar was one of the few kid shows that EXPLICITLY said "Violence is always not the answer, but that doesn't mean you always have to forgive everyone who has ever hurt you." Katara and Zuko realize that killing Yon Rha would just traumatize her even more, and Aang realized that forgiveness isn't always a necessary step to recover - hence him not having a problem with Katara saying "I didn't forgive him. I'll never forgive him."
And The Southern Raiders wasn't the only episode that challenged Aang's perspective on never taking lives - the finale was all about him coming to terms with the fact that he would have to kill Ozai, as there was no other way to stop him from destroying the world. It is very clear that, if the Lion Turtle had not shown up, Aang would have done it.
The show IS embracing nuance. It IS saying "Sometimes, there is no other way to solve such a conflict - but if you DO find a different solution, go with that."
Zutarians keep trying to act like they're taking apart a bad message that says things are always either black or white, no grey areas ever, when in reality they are just exposing how a goddamn Nickelodeon show is too complicated for them to wrap their heads around, and thus they really need to stick to shows that are for even younger audiences otherwise they'll continue to be confused and enranged by completely mundane things nearly every narrative has.
Hiiii about the zukka requests I would love if you wrote something with one of them being touchstarved!!!
sokka x zuko
a/n : HII thank you sm for the request!! I hope this turned out alright and that you enjoy it !! [ALSO i refer to their little group as team avatar throughout this but suki isn’t there don’t massacre me i just didn’t feel like thinking up explanations 🙏 they are in a polycule in my heart.  i just need self indulgent zukka hehe<3] warnings : none word count : 1108
Zuko hadn’t known what it was like to not be touch-starved since his mother was around. When she was gone, Zuko was quick to know warm arms and gentle touches had left with her. And so, he truly had not expected to find that type of affection when he joined Aang’s group. Not from Aang, thank god, and definitely not from Katara or Toph. Sure, there was the occasional hug, a hand on his back, or a punch which was supposed to be affection but really just left a Toph’s-fist-sized bruise on his arm. Instead, Zuko found those touches in Sokka, who very well may have been virtually the opposite of Zuko.
Maybe it shouldn’t have been surprising. Zuko could have guessed that when Sokka cared, he cared with his entire heart--he saw the way he’d protect his friends, and how he interacted with them when their lives weren’t in immediate danger. Sokka was a close person, and Zuko had gathered that it was how he was raised and just… how he was. He’d seen the Southern Water Tribe families, and seen just how familial they were (nothing like his household, he used to think to himself with contempt; now, it was nothing but heartwarming). He just never expected Sokka could be that way with him.
Talking close, sitting close, a grip on his arm, a whisper that brought his face closer than Zuko had expected anyone from “Team Avatar” would be with him. And when Zuko had proven himself? God, no, when feelings Zuko were just certain weren’t reciprocated got spilled post-coronation?
Zuko thought he might die. An arm around his shoulder, grabbing his hand, pinching his face, a kiss? He’d be scared to admit it when it made his face warm, his skin tingle, his stomach butterfly-filled-- but Zuko needed that touch, more than he needed anything.
That’s why, after a few months of Sokka visiting the Southern Water Tribe, Zuko had felt more alone than he had in ages. Fire Lord duties could only distract him for so long. Unless he saw Uncle Iroh, who offered Zuko hugs upon arrival and departure, Zuko was without human touch after just having it back. That’s why, now that the “Team Avatar” was back together (and on a mini-vacation of sorts, courtesy of Zuko’s old house on the beach), Zuko could barely be seen apart from Sokka.
The reunion was sweet--they always were, for everyone. Aang’s odd slang that Zuko still didn’t understand, Katara’s politeness (that he knew was very limited), a punch or two from Toph, and countless hugs and hair-ruffles and face-pinches and kisses from Sokka.
And now, the day long over, three of their group fast asleep or preparing to be, Zuko had what he’d been wanting all day. Maybe it was selfish, but he was royalty, and royally in love. All he wanted was alone-time with his boyfriend, and, for once, getting what he wanted was the sweetest victory.
“Your hair’s gotten so long,” Sokka noted, interrupting the comfortable silence that had enveloped them since the rest of their friends opted to rest. His hands ran through Zuko’s hair, gently combing it and bringing a relaxing feeling that made Zuko practically purr like a contented housecat.
“Yeah, I guess… I had long hair throughout my childhood, so it feels… right. I don’t really notice it.”
“It looks nice! When it’s up in your highness’ hairdo, you look juuust like a spoiled prince.”
Zuko knew that was a teasing tone, and felt himself grinning when Sokka placed his hands on his face, squishing him lightly. At one point, Zuko knew he wouldn’t have accepted teasing-- to respond to it with joy made himself feel proud, a pride he wasn’t ashamed of anymore.
“You grew your hair out too,” Zuko responded, rolling his eyes in an attempt to return the teasing. Reaching out, he ran a few fingers along the shaved sides of Sokka’s head, before reaching farther. Swiftly, Zuko yanked the tie from Sokka’s hair, letting it fall loose.
Sokka laughed a bit, “Yeah, it got pretty long, so I was like ‘sure, why not, keep it.’”
“It looks nice.” Zuko’s tone was genuine, and had such admiration in it that Sokka felt as though he had been caught off-guard. “I, uhm,” Zuko continued, coughing a bit. It was his turn to feel flustered, not sure why he wanted to say this. Sokka’s honesty seemed to rub off on Zuko, on top of how comfortable Sokka made him feel. Like he wanted to tell him anything and everything, but never had the words (or sociability). “I missed you. It feels like I haven’t, uh… had a hug in ages. It sounds stupid, but you’re the only person who ever gets close to me.”
Sokka’s face grew red, a flustered laugh leaving his mouth. “I missed you too, man. I’ve missed being close to you,” He spoke, bringing his hands to squish the sides of Zuko’s face together once more. With Zuko’s face squished, Sokka placed a silly kiss on his puckered lips. “Calling your boyfriend ‘man’ doesn’t sound right, you know,” Zuko responded, taking a moment to fight the flustered feeling he always got around Sokka, especially when they’d kiss.
“Sorry, your Fire Lord-iness, I’ll be sure to call you more romantic names.”
Despite the teasing, Sokka let go of Zuko’s face, pulling him in for a hug instead. Though Zuko wanted to complain about the names, he instead found his mind faltering, as his head landed softly against Sokka’s shoulder.
“What are you doing?” Zuko questioned, though he didn’t make any attempts to move. “Uhh, hugging you? Didn’t you just say you missed me being close to you?”
Zuko knew that wasn’t exactly what he said, but… he wasn’t going to argue. Not when it was true. Not when having someone show him that they cared like this felt so comforting, so reassuring, like he couldn’t deny that Sokka was real, he was there because Zuko could feel it was true. Sokka’s hands were quick to find their places, one on Zuko’s back and the other in his hair, massaging its way into his scalp, then gently combing the hair out.
Zuko had thought himself at ease already, but Sokka’s loving ministrations seemed to coax him into a relaxed state he hardly knew. His heart felt full, and his skin felt warm with contact.
“Thanks, Sokka,” He mumbled, hardly wanting to move enough to talk properly. All he wanted was this moment--this boy. Zuko could hear the smile in Sokka’s voice, “Yeah. You don’t need to thank me, really-- I like being near you.”
Zuko x OC
Hello… Zuko Here
~
"Hello ... Zuko here, but I guess... you probably already know me, sort of. Uhhh ... so, the thing is I have a lot of firebending experience, and I'm considered to be pretty good at it."
Zori nods with a numbs up. The rehearsal going smoothly so far. "Well, you've seen me, you know, when I was attacking you." Zori cringed. "Maybe apologize for that too?" Uhhh ... yeah, I guess I should. But anyway, I'm good now."  I clench both fists and place one on my chest while the other arm is raised. This is so awkward.
"This is getting painful." Zori grits her teeth. "Why don't I go talk to them?" "No! I need to do this."
I take a deep breath and start again, "I mean, I thought I was good before, but I realize I was bad, anyway, I think it's time I joined your group and taught the Avatar firebending. I understand Truble was supposed to teach you, but... I can do it." Zori stays silent. "Well, what's your answer?" The child sits on a rock with a frown. "It's a no for me boss." I sigh defeated, "That's what I'd say, too. How am I supposed to convince these people that I'm on their side? What would Uncle do?"
Zori jumps to the ground staring to imitate Iroh. "Zuko, you have to look within yourself to save yourself from your other self. Only then will your true self, reveal itself." "What would Azula do?" Zori smirks playfully before she begins to imitate Azula. "Listen, Avatar, I can join your group, or I can do something unspeakably horrible to you and your friends. Your choice." I laugh lightly. "I'm glad I packed some comedic humor along."  Zori smiles, "I'm glad I came along too. I'm glad you chose the right way." I look away from her with a sheepish smile. "It's what Truble would have wanted. I regret not being there when she was hit. I think about her every day."
~
Aang springs excitedly, "Okay, we can do that while I show you the giant Pai Sho table! Oh, you're going to love the all-day echo chamber!" Toph furrows her brows, "I think it will have to wait." Toph points behind herself, Team Avatar looking at her quizzically. Appa moves out of the way to reveal a shadow, it is revealed to belong to Zuko. They look at him with shocked expressions, which subsequently turn into anger.
Zuko waves, "Hello. Zuko here." "AND ZORI!" The 10-year-old jumps off his back. "Zori!" The team chants with happiness. Katara hugs the child. "Where have you been? Truble..." Katara glanced at Zuko, but he avoided her gaze. "She wouldn't want you to run off like that, Zori."
Zori looked around the group, noticing the missing member. Her worry grew for Truble. Knowing it wasn't the appropriate time to reveal the truth of her death or rather nondeath. Zuko would have to find out on his own.
"I heard you guys flying around down there, so, I just thought I'd wait for you here," Appa growls at him and licks him twice. Aang lowers his staff slightly. "I know you must be surprised to see me here." Sokka shakes his head, "Not really since you've followed us all over the world."
"Right. Well, uhhh ... anyway ... what I wanted to tell you is that I've changed, and I, uhhh, I'm good now, and well I think I should join your group, oh, and I can teach firebending to you." Toph shouts confused, "You want to what now?" Katara crosses her arms. "You can't possibly think that any of us would trust you, can you? Especially after what you did to Truble. I mean, how stupid do you think we are?!"
"I've done some good things! I mean, I could have stolen your bison in Ba Sing Se, but I set him free. That's something!" Appa licks him again, much to his surprise. "I can understand why you wouldn't trust me, and I know I've made some mistakes in the past."
Sokka starts, "Like when you attacked our village?" Then Katara states, "Or when you stole my mother's necklace and used it to track us down and capture us?" Then Toph continues, "Or when you betrayed Truble." I look up at her with a glare. Zori holds my hand lightly. "Look, I admit I've done awful things. I was wrong to try to capture you, and I'm sorry that I attacked the Water Tribe. I'm sorry I went against Truble. And I never should have sent that Fire Nation assassin after you." Toph and Sokka's eyes widen with shock.
"Wait, you sent Combustion Man after us?" "Well that's not his name, but-" Sokka rolled his eyes, "Ohhh, sorry. I didn't mean to insult your friend!" "HE IS NOT MY FRIEND!" I should angrily. I look to Aang, "Why aren't you saying anything? You once said you thought we could be friends. You know I have good in me."
Aang turns to look at his friends, and Sokka shakes his head. "There's no way we can trust you after everything you've done. We'll never let you join us." Katara tugs Zori behind her, "You need to get out of here. Now."
"If you won't accept me as a friend, then maybe you'll take me as a prisoner. I kneel, bend my head, and raise my arms in surrender. "No, we won't!" Katara blasts water at me. "Get out of here, and don't come back! And if we ever see you again, well, we'd better not see you again!"
Zori looks from behind Katara. She nods, and knowing she will be safe, I walk away. Some hidden paths are crossed alone. Uncle would be proud.
~
I wiggle in my chains, my shoulders both out of place by now. I've been suspended for days, and the tips of my toes barely scraped the metal floor. Sweat covered my face, along with bruises and blood from endless interrogations.
"Where is he? Where is Savrar?" A guard punches my stomach making me grimace in pain. "I told you. He's dead. I am the only one left." "And we don't believe you!" Another blow to my stomach and I spit blood into the guard's face. "You little," he grabs my chin with rage in his eyes. "She's supposed to be left alive." A chilling voice sounds from the entrance.
Azula enters with two figures behind her, her so-called friends. She shoves the guard out and shuts the door. "You should be dead, rat."
I look down at my body, a smirk growing on my lips. "Am I not? Hm, weird." One of the girls cartwheels over to me, she runs a finger down my long red hair, "This is really pretty! I've never seen this color before!" The other girl crosses her arms, "so bright it's burning my eyes." Azula smirks at her friend and grabs a knife from Mai's hand. "Let's give you a makeover." Azula moves behind me, grabs my hair in a wad, and pulls my head back, the muscles in my body straining. "Where is the avatar?" "Why don't you use my pendant and see?" Azula slashes a section of my hair, it falls to the ground in uneven lengths. This is humiliating. "Oh, I wish I could. Zuzu took it before I even knew the value. I guess he wanted a souvenir."
Azula slashes another wad off. "So this is what he left me for?" Mai asks walking around me in a circle. "I can't say I'm impressed." I glare at her. "Oh just wait until I get out of here!" I huff fire with fury, thrashing around in my chains. Mai smirks tilting her head. "I'm shaking."
Azula cuts the remaining hair off, leaving it to fall just before my shoulders. "Now you listen rat. We're moving you to boiling rock. One flicker of a flame and I will burn your face off." I smirk at her, "I love when you talk dirty to me." Her eyes bore into mine only making me smile widly. She can't stand my lack of fear. "You should be terrified. I could kill you, rat!" I get as close to her as I can, my face heating up, "I don't do scared." Azula glared at me and stormed out, steam rolling out of her ears.
As the metal door slams shut I rest my head. I see the fallen strands of my hair and sigh. I was taught to never crack. My father was a
Strict man when it came to training and one of the key things he drilled into me was never giving in. Even if it meant death. Which seems like a welcomed friend at this time.
"You've got to keep going." A tiny voice rings in my head. "Zori?" I ask aloud, searching the room from top to bottom. "You can't give up Truble." I allow my head to fall. "I can't do it Zori. I can't get out of here."
"Then I'm coming to get you."
Lost on the Air
https://archiveofourown.org/works/54961243 by Rion_in_2 “I know you’re there,” The prisoner said suddenly, and Sokka flinched. His voice was raspy, yet somewhat soft at the same time. It made him sound younger than Sokka imagined him to be. “What? You’re not being very subtle,” Sokka felt his throat bob nervously. “Umm… sorry?” The prisoner didn’t move, and Sokka chose his words carefully - he might as well try and make friendly with the dude, lower his chance of being murdered in his sleep. “I’m Sokka. I don’t suppose you have a name?” There was a silence, and Sokka imagined he too was choosing his best option. “Lee,” A nice, common Fire Nation name, if the scrolls he’d read were anything to go by. Also a lie, most likely, but Sokka wasn’t sure if he wanted to pry. -~- Six years after Firelord Iroh’s rise to power, Moon Prince Sokka of the Northern Water Tribe is kidnapped by rebels, threatening the fragile peace of the four nations. Katara vows to find her brother no matter who or what stands in her way. Meanwhile, trapped in the clutches of Fire Nation rebels, Sokka forges a tentative alliance with a fellow prisoner who might just be his key to escape…. But only if they can trust each other.
