Could The Universal Will from Guilty Gear kill MacBeth?
Yes, the Universal Will AKA the Merciless Apocalypse from Guilty Gear could kill Macbeth!
Tumblr media
It is an information organism/artificial intelligence created by a man known as The Original, and it is referred to with either it/its pronouns or as the "Mother" of the Valentines. This means it applies for all three Clauses!
Thank you for your submission!

For some reason I always think of Happy Chaos and the Universal Will as being thousands of years old until I remember they're only a few years over 200, not that much older than the Gear Project trio. I know that's still a long time, but I feel like your average person could last a bit longer in almost complete isolation before getting as fucked up as Happy Chaos

Was it possible that Napoleon should have won that battle? We answer No. Why? Because of Wellington? Because of Blucher? No.
Because of God.
Bonaparte victor at Waterloo; that does not come within the law of the nineteenth century. Another series of facts was in preparation, in which there was no longer any room for Napoleon. The ill will of events had declared itself long before.
It was time that this vast man should fall.
The excessive weight of this man in human destiny disturbed the balance. This individual alone counted for more than a universal group. These plethoras of all human vitality concentrated in a single head; the world mounting to the brain of one man,—this would be mortal to civilization were it to last. The moment had arrived for the incorruptible and supreme equity to alter its plan. Probably the principles and the elements, on which the regular gravitations of the moral, as of the material, world depend, had complained. Smoking blood, over-filled cemeteries, mothers in tears,—these are formidable pleaders. When the earth is suffering from too heavy a burden, there are mysterious groanings of the shades, to which the abyss lends an ear.
Napoleon had been denounced in the infinite and his fall had been decided on.
He embarrassed God.
Waterloo is not a battle; it is a change of front on the part of the Universe. - Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

Since Happy Chaos was the one who influenced Ariels' actions more or less, why would he influence her to kill Ramlethal and make Elphelt into Justice?
There's an important conversation which Ariels has mid-fight with Sin Kiske about her true intentions for Ramlethal… which, prior to this, she told Elphelt that Ramlethal was "defective" and "to be disposed of":
---------------------------------------------------------- Ariels: Ramlethal… if I had to send my troops to shut her down, I would've lost many pawns… But, thankfully she was defective. Put a child's life before her own, and now she's not my problem. Oh you guys really saved me a headache.
Sin: Don't you DARE say another word!
*Sin activates his eye and attacks Ariels directly*
Sin: Ram never said a single bad thing about you! And, she wanted you to stop doing bad things! Because no matter how bad you were… you were still her Mother! And yet you…
Ariels: You thought that leaving her alone would make her happy? So, she may have joined you guys, but that doesn't make her a 'Redundancy'. She would be living a life of solitude.
*Ky cuts in*
Ky: But that's no reason… to deprive her of her right to live!
*Sol cuts in*
Sol: Keep buyin' time…
*Sol activates his Junkyard*
Sol: I don't think anything can withstand Twenty-fold. ----------------------------------------------------------
This conversation reveals that... even in the case that Ariels herself did not recognize humanity... it was still her goal to recognize her own 'children' within her plans, even if she could not truly use them for those plans in some instances.
The original Valentine was a failure because she could not perceive or control her own emotions.
Elphelt was a failure because she had a free will that could defy her Mother's orders even at the expense of her own life.
Ramlethal was a failure because she simply did not meet the ideal criteria for which a Valentine served: as a replacement for Justice.
It was because Ramlethal was her own unique self (irreplaceable) that she could NEVER become Justice. (Though even Justice was a "failure" in historical hindsight...)
The same might've also been said of Elphelt, however Elphelt was forced to "adjust" her identity within the body of Justice (which traumatized her and even altered her appearance to an extent).
Prior to this fight, Ariels even states to Elphelt that she might very well become "the only human left in the world".
But only if she had no true grasp of what Hope truly means... if she was able to sacrifice her own Hope and ambitions to become a replacement for Humanity as a "new hope".
Rather than Elphelt, however... it was Ariels who didn't understand the concept of Hope. Simply dwelling on it and loathing it as a facet of the beings she refused to "accept" as humanity.
So, where do we draw the line between Ariels and Happy Chaos here?
Ariels, being the Universal Will... understood the concept of Solitude.
This is the same solitude that she describes as the "fate" placed upon Elphelt and Ramlethal's respective shoulders.
The "difference" (chigao as Ram would say) between being accepted and being rejected.
Solitude is absolute rejection. When the world is your enemy.
It's very easy to see that the Universal Will saw the world this way, because the world feared and rejected her as well.
Ariels saw that Solitude in Sol's world as well... and DEMANDED to know what kind of world he truly saw when living his life as an Immortal.
However, to Sol... Solitude was FREEDOM... freedom to see others doing their own things, freedom to live by one's self on one's own terms.
Sol's Freedom allowed him to accept others. To see them as they are and to let them live.
And it was for that very reason, Ariels chose to entrust her Valentine Children to Sol Badguy.
This had nothing to do with Happy Chaos. This was the "Will" of the Universal Will ... or rather... the Will of a Human Woman who waged war with Humanity.
If no one could love her Children, then Ariels' HOPE truly was lost.
So again, I ask... where was Happy Chaos?
He was "restricted" to say the least... she wouldn't just let him do as he pleased if she could help it... so there must have been some level of conflict between them.
But her power alone wasn't enough to truly stop him... he still meddled with Human history, against her wishes even.
What we know for certain is that any time the Valentines were involved with history, so far... with exception to I-No... he was not as directly involved.
It was partly BECAUSE Jack-O' mentioned I-No's Valentine that he got involved. The Valentine that did not yet exist.
If the Gears were involved, if Justice was involved, maybe he would get his hands dirty... make history "more exciting"... but the details on that are vague (which is why "That Man" was so easily misunderstood).
It could be said that "Adam" and "Eve" (which Chaos created) were the impetus which motivated Ariels to create her Valentines initially... even though technically it was Asuka who created the "first" Valentine (Jack-O').
If Adam (The Flame of Corruption) and Eve (The Scales of Juno) could survive an Absolute World... then they were the "ideal replacement" for humanity from the outset...
That is... assuming a "body of information" could "become a human".
Though this very thought is what caused the Universal Will to "become human" in the first place.
Prior to this... the birth of the Original Valentine was something best described as "an approximation of Aria". Something that wasn't human and still tried to be as close to one as possible.
Though it would be hard pressed to simply call Valentine a Gear, even if that was what she was based on.
In other words, the line between Gears and Humanity had already begun to blur.
So what of Chaos? What exactly IS he?
All of Humanity's potential? All of Humanity's detritus?
The Dreams and HOPES of Humanity?
Or the Curses and Nightmares of us all?
So where the Original Valentine failed, Ariels succeeded in becoming Human.
What's the next step? If Ariels is "considered human"?
Chaos is what happens when a Human decides it doesn't WANT to be Human anymore (or so it seems).
Maybe that isn't quite what the Original Sage had in mind when he was looking for Humanity's prosperity, was it?
Then again, it might be Humanity's fault for putting too much expectation (too much HOPE) on a single Man to save Humanity in the first place.
Like throwing broken Valentines at a brick wall.

Leo Whitefang has once again fallen victim to the evil that is physics.
Jokes aside this stage is beautiful. The lush greens, pure white marble architecture, and the futuristic tram(?) system shown by the railings that link the sections of the map into each other shows how far Illyria has come as a kingdom and world power.
In Xrd, the kingdom was in a state of panic and fear with the Universal Will on the loose and people declaring war on humanity because their mom told them to. Also a certain city kind of got pulverized off of the map. Whoops. (Ls in the chat for Babylon)
Why, in Another Story in Strive, another Illyrian town was nearly vaporized by Bedman’s sister, Delilah, trying to teleport to the White House. Illyria really can’t catch a break can they?
I… don’t know what’s up with the deer women statues though? They’re pretty and all, but I don’t recall Illyria or any of the characters of the main cast connected to the kingdom really having any strong feelings about deer.
