I was gonna make this a Shady Rambles Dislyte but I'm too tired to say anything of note lol
I really miss when Dislyte stories were like... peak, say what you want about the original story mode, but at least the event stories were really good! Stories like Truth Unveiled, Dusk and Dawn, Dream of Redemption, Sea of Sorrow... even the simpler ones like Desperado were really good! Emotional and well written stories that actually seemed like they had some effort and care put into them.
I guess I can't talk because I missed most of them, but I've been rereading the events I missed (specifically everything after Valeria's) and tbh aside from Hilda's story none of it is clicking for me rn :/ it all feels like it's lost some sort of spark that made me love the previous event stories so much
And based on the bs they just pulled with the retconned story mode, AND the steaming pile of mid that was Cellblock Chaos, they better come in hot with the next event story because rn I'm regretting my decision to return to this game

Honestly don't really think putting Aziraphale in charge of Heaven is going to make a meaning change
Saw some people make the argument that he's doing it in order to make a change to help him and crowley out by making systematic changes
But the Metatron already kind of prove that that's not the point. He said that Gabriel's hearing that the fall of one Prince of Heaven makes for a good story but two would be an argument for institutional problems. And the other archangels agree insisting that there isn't.
Putting forth for the new head of heaven isn't going to change any systematic problems it's putting a blanket over the problems and insisting that things have changed
Like putting in place a better prison warden doesn't change the fact that it's a prison

Joy in Expansive Variation
https://www.tumblr.com/conarcoin/707384949821538304/nah-fuck-this-im-not-white-but-we-do-not-need-to?source=share
Yeah to add to what conarcoin says (had to do a separate post to make it clear we weren’t endorsing the video because the video is ridiculous), so we’re gonna pretend now that the overlap between ND and trans folks across racial categories during the ramp up of trans genocide in the USA means that white trans people with mental issues aren’t oppressed huh?
We’re sorry but like, the body we have is white but on account of gender and our brain we still went through hell and still get hell on occasion in a society structurally designed to wear us down either onto the streets or into an institution or dead etc. etc. Like, what? Did we not get sexually harassed several times and freeze up even though our oldest headmate before most of us were around knew martial arts because she had never really been prepared for the way things happened? Did we not get traumatized in school and experience ostracism and end up suicidal? Have we not experienced microagressions at work and threats in the public bathroom? Were we not categorically denied knowledge and actuation that would have made us happy when we were younger? What is this shit. Us talking about it and reclaiming it isn’t social currency- it is agency, it is trying to make a little joy in this often miserable world of hegemonies that we and so many struggle against. We will grant that there are white people who try to do oppression Olympics and who have a puritan punitive policing mentality about liberation which does a disservice to the very idea of liberation and solidarity, but celebrating parts of us that hegemonic masculinity (the international systems of the patriarchy and all the imperial and capitalist stuff that comes with it) wants us tokenised, bled dry from alienated labor, dead, shunned, or repeatedly abused for is not something that is not trying to claim something that isn’t ours.
So there you have our life- but brown and black people like us have it much worse than we do. We’re not going to get into that, they can do that if they want. If people really need to know about some of the messed up imperial shit, go read Black on Both Sides: A Racial History of Trans Identity by C. Riley Snorton, Deviant Care for Deviant Futures: QTBIPoC Radical Relationism as Mutual Aid Against Carceral Care by Ren Yo-Hwang, Anarcho-Blackness by Marquis Bey, Giuseppe Campuzano’s Afterlife: Toward a Travesti Methodology for Critique, Care, and Radical Resistance by Malú Machuca Rose, I Monster: Embodying Trans and Travesti Resistance in Latin America by Joseph M. Pierce and OVERCOMING HETERONORMATIVE HEGEMONY: QUEER RESISTANCE TO NEOLIBERALISM IN CHILE by SHYAM ANAND SINGH  to start to get a picture of it (this is not at all an exhaustive list nor could it ever be, also we are out of spoons after a generally awful day). Would also just generally recommend Are Prisons Obsolete? by Angela Davis.
So yeah, with all due respect, no. While we are more on the aesthetic read of gender (a discussion for another time) we think Gender as Accumulation Strategy by Kay Gabriel is very relevant in regards to how the fight for trans rights must be framed in a pluralistic form of solidarity.
And we haven’t even talked about plurality!?! Because we honestly don’t know what literature to recommend on plural BiPoC oppression or plural oppression generally. We have not gotten around to reading about it we can only speak to community knowledge and personal experiences and what we can infer from the ND community not getting treated very well by the medical system or by police and many other institutions e.g. with anxiety and ADD (things we have). We will at least say that if you want a non-western, spiritual look at a much older understanding of systems than the recent word plural that also tangles with aesthetic stuff, go read Freshwater by  Akwaeke Emezi.

meg falconer was THEEE girl for me it's also very funny bc when i read the books age 10 & her brother kept being like "she's too young to be surviving with murderous street gangs and such :(" i was like "bro come on she's 11 she's basically grown. get it together"
now if i reread it age 26 i'm sure i'm gonna be like "SAYS THE 15-YEAR-OLD FUCKING INFANT??!!?!?!? SOMEONE HELP AIDEN FALCONER"

Jason: this is giving Arkham vibes
Dick: hm?
Jason, gesturing out the sliding back door of the Brownstone: he’s been wondering around the yard, talking to himself for three hours
Dick, peaking his head out the door: it’s an enclosed yard, he should be okay till he bonks out
Steph, who just arrived: what are we looking at?
Jason: a man walking the tight rope of sanity
Damian, mostly minding his business, eating coco puffs at the table: sanity?! I watched him have a full conversation with the oak tree regarding the ethics of the prison-industrial complex. We’re far past debating his sanity
Steph: oh god, it’s worse than we thought
Bruce, from the second floor balcony: TIMOTHY JACKSON DRAKE get the fuck to bed or god so help me, I will inject you with a sedative
Tim, turning from the oak tree to squint up at Bruce: Bruce, I don’t see how the electric chair is all bad
Damian, sighing dramatically: If I must, I will do the honours of stabbing the zombie with a sedative

"the public education system is intently evil and all teachers are abusive because it was the worst experience ever for me personally"
guys, look, I'm legitimately sorry that happened to you. that's fucked up. it shouldn't have happened, and it shouldn't be allowed to happen again to you or anyone else. I'm sorry.
public school was hard for me too, at times, and I'm still suffering the consequences for the harsh grading, the arbitrary deadlines, the hours of completely useless-to-me homework. I could name a few teachers who have been pretty fucking terrible. the fact that nobody considered getting me evaluated for ADHD has had an impact on my self image and academic success that I can't erase.
and also.
I grew up in an area where education, in particular, is incredibly progressive-leaning. educators are working really hard to create and try out education philosophies and practices that prioritize kids and their learning, rather than teachers and what they think kids should learn.
My sex ed was comprehensive, and came entirely from school. My gay sixth grade teacher taught me about HIV/AIDs in a useful, accurate way. In high school, I learned about the way orgasms work & I was prepared not to feel shame for normal stuff.
I learned that Communism was not what the USSR actually practiced, and what it really means. I learned about atrocities and, specifically, the genocide of indigenous people committed in/by the US. I learned about the military industrial complex, the school-to-prison pipeline, and I learned about manifestations of racism specific to my local area. I learned about Stonewall, and the intersection of the civil rights movement with gay rights and disability justice.
My creative writing teacher taught us about LSD, and the real reasons we shouldn't do it, after a hilariously ineffective assembly run by some local cops. He spoke gently, carefully, and emphatically about his friends and his own experiences. Later in the semester, he read us a story he wrote about two gay men finding each other in a deeply homophobic environment.
My sci-fi teacher made me feel safe & seen as a kid with "weird" interests. My US History teacher helped me research and put together a 10-page paper on the modern relevance and mission of Feminism. My government teacher made me feel appreciated for the work I put into the class, and the thought I put into what I said in it, even though he disagreed with a lot of it. My sixth grade teacher bought me books to read with his personal money, whichever ones I asked for. My third grade teacher made me feel safe. My science teacher in middle school made me excited for and passionate about science, and saw and nurtured the effort I put into her class.
A lot of stuff sucks, absolutely. But I am seeing new teaching methods being tried out all the time, and I am watching teachers get really excited when I teach their students about the roots of modern graffiti in US black history & to question property laws, and just...
There's hope. there are so many people doing so much work to make things better. so many people agree with you on what education should be, and are trying so fucking hard to put that into action, and so many public schools- not just teachers, but whole schools and even districts- are really doing that work. so much is getting better.
I had more to say, about necessary childcare and trusted adults and outside contacts and time away from abusive family. But like. Please just sit down and listen to more people on this, and please talk to educators and education professionals about what's really going on in this big huge world of philosophy, science, and practice.

What Happens To Criminals In The New World Order
What Happens To Criminals In The New World Order. Our final installment looking at groups that might hate Copiosis...at first. Here's how we get organized crime to join us in creating the future.
Photo by Cytonn Photography on Unsplash In the last two posts, we explained why we must keep bankers and finance people happy. Today we’ll tackle the third powerful group: Organized crime. Criminals love money-based economic systems. That’s because they take advantage of money’s inherent weaknesses. One major weakness is its transferability. A person can take someone else’s money using force.…

i think the only complaint i have of wendell & wild is that i wish there was more of it. it has a really fleshed out world with really interesting characters and i honestly think it could have made a great tv show. as a movie its amazing but it has a lot of threads going that could have really worked in more of a long-running format. still a fantastic movie.

A brutally honest take on Ukraine from a U.S. Army Veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq that is also a Purple Heart recipient (edited):
I have never and will never support the war in Ukraine. I now understand the Military Industrial Complex and the trillions spent off of the lives of US, the people.
If you do support the war, this post is going to offend the shit out of you.
And I honestly don’t care what you think. Some of you may agree, and some of you probably truly need to hear this.
I have been shot at, blown up, returned fire, everything imaginable. War is serious shit. This is not Call of Duty, this is real fucking life. The term “War is hell”, is coined for a reason.
First: I will start with NATO and Europe.
Why the hell are we in NATO if they don’t barely lift a finger for shit? Why is America always the one that will carry the burden of these asshats. Even President Trump commented TODAY and was almost begging for an end to this. To NATO: If you want this war so badly, then grab a compass and head due East.
Second: You can say whatever you want about President Trump. You can like the man, or you can hate him. However, you cannot argue the point that none of this bullshit was going on when he was President. Just throwing that out there. This is an undeniable fact.
Third: Why is it that it took an Airman to leak classified documentation to totally disprove the efforts in Ukraine? Don’t you notice how this story has been completely wiped from the mockingbird media? They are concealing the truth as well. American taxpayers have been lied to since this began.
Fourth: Where is all of our American taxpayer money going? Let’s be honest about it. How do you “over-calculate” over $6 BILLION DOLLARS of our money for this effort? Where exactly is it going? Into Politician or Zelenskyy’s pockets? If any of us made an “accounting error” on our taxes, we would all be in prison now. This is fraud, waste and abuse putting it lightly.
Fifth: This brings me to another point. Are politicians making money off of this war effort? If so, sorry to say, but you belong in prison. Plain and simple. And that is bipartisan speaking. There are Americans working 2-4 jobs at times just to make ends meet. People are recovering from a lockdown that YOU created.
Sixth: To the Americans backing this war. Why don’t you book yourself a flight to Kyiv and partake in this fight? It’s easy as fuck to be okay with war, while you’re chilling with your Starbucks in your comfortable environment. You love to criticize our country but have never contributed a fucking thing to it.
Last: Why are we not discussing diplomacy? There have been ZERO attempts to sit down like grown fucking men and come to an agreement. None. It is all too clear that they want this war to continue.
I sure as hell don’t claim to know everything, but this bullshit has gone on long enough.
To the dickheads who will inevitably cherry-pick this tweet know this, your opinion does not matter to me. You can comment, but I won’t give you the benefit of replying. Thanks for playing.
I know this is a very long-winded post. But if you took the time to read, thank you for listening.

Astrology: Saturn in the houses and what we feel chained to
The only way to unchain yourself is to master the subject
Tumblr media
1st house - Your whole outlook is depressing and predictable. It's hard to shake off your melancholy.
2nd house - Chained by your financial worries or habit of hording, chained by your lack of self-worth and self-criticism. Weighed down by your physical belongings.
3rd house - There is weight on your mind, caused by your siblings, everyday thoughts, and the immediate environment that you can't escape.
4th house - Chained by your mum, home life, family history, and expectations. A belief that your origin story defines you.
5th house - Weighed down by your childhood, pushed to be creative, chained by your lack of creativity and your responsibilities towards children.
6th house - Chained by everyday work, your community, your extended family responsibilities, or their trauma. Maintaining your health can be a drag.
7th house - Chained to legal issues, fines, and contracts. Chained by relationships and partnerships. A weighted feeling that your peers are against you.
8th house - Chained to sexual trauma, a complex relationship with the father, shared finances and inheritance. This inheritance may come in the form of family karma or obligation.
9th house - Chained to your religious or philosophical beliefs, perhaps grew up in a strict religious household. Or the opposite and actually chained to a resistance of belief in anything that can't be scientifically proven.
10th house - Chained by your ambition, your career goals. A feeling that you must do what you have been told to do. Controlled by your boss or father.
11th house - Shackled to your peers and social groups, even when they hurt you.  Restricted by society and social norms. Wishful thinking and daydreams feel pointless or empty, yet you can not break out of them.
12th house - Locked in by your own subconscious or generational trauma. Chained to the mental health industry, institutions, or prisons. Chained to a far away home that is not your own.

our entire political system is flawed, but
you're not going to change it in one election to perfection; what you can absolutely do is make everything worse in one election. also, you can acknowledge that the system needs work and that you want more without lying and pretending as if it has produced nothing positive for you. the problem right now with many people is that you guys want an instant solution. you want an instant fix. however, there is no such thing. there will not be one election or one candidate or one bill that's going to fix this. this is going to take long-term, strategic, methodical work for us to make it right, and i can tell right now that many people are not up for the task. they're too weak, but they won't be weak enough to complain, make videos, tweets, ig posts, reels, tiktoks, blog posts and whatever whining when shit hits the fan. they'll be the first ones howling at the moon and gnashing their teeth without taking responsibility for the part they played in the shitstorm.
here's some simple advice: pack the senate and congress with hardcore progressives. hardcore progressives. and then go to your local election and pack that with hardcore progressives again. but by no means should any of us accept any talk or strategy that gives the republicans power. at some point, you've got to stop playing checkers in a chess game.
however, the problem is this point of view should have been adopted in 2016. i fear that it might actually be too late because people played checkers in the chess game knowing full well that whoever won that election was going to have at least one supreme court pick. that winner actually got three and now has set this country back for the foreseeable future. generations are going to be feeling that pain. we missed out on critical years to address climate change. the voting rights of black people have been completely undermined. the educational opportunities for black people have also been undermined. discrimination against gay people has been affirmed. we saw the death of millions of americans at the hands of a global pandemic that was profoundly mishandled, and yet having seen and experience all of this people are willing to entertain the idea of allowing those in power who did all this to get even more power again. UNBELIEVABLE! people like that deserve ridicule.
if you actually care about black lives, people of color, trans rights, gay rights, healthcare, education, palestine, dr congo, police brutality, child poverty, climate change, restoring democracy, voting rights, equitable access to all levels of education, ending the prison industrial complex, women's rights, and etc do not entertain any talk about taking actions that will give republicans power. not in the short term. not in the long term. don't let your anger and your disappointment force your hand into making things worse for yourself and others. there's already been widespread voter suppression so if you think you're going to give republicans all that power and then vote to take it away from them down the line when everything is more to your liking, you are delusional. if you really want to change things (like for real, you're not just talking shit about "progress"),here are some insightful videos:
