The Mandalorian X Dark Fey! Male Reader
|| Masterlist ||
-
After S2 EP 5, I couldn’t help but come up with an idea! After finding out the child’s name and having Ashokas appearance, I couldn’t help myself but write some more Dark fey reader!! Also the inspiration comes from @fanficsforheartandsoul Please read their writing it is amazing and follow them!!
Summary: Din and reader have found the child a teacher, Ashoka, and learn a few new things about the Jedi order. But, Ashoka finds out a bit more about the readers kind and tells him her stories of when she once met a planet full of dark fey, creatures that the reader thought have gone extinct making him think that he is the last of his kind.
Warnings: Fluff, angst, the child being all cute, backstory, Ashoka learning, just more angst.
Tumblr media
“I don’t think this is a good idea.” Said the Fey who walked next to the Mandalorian. The two were walking through the dead forest, jumping over fallen logs and going under trees in order to continue following the path that lead them to the Jedi. Back in town they have met with the Matriarch, a women that was in charge of the town and had offered them a spear of beskar in exchange to take down the Jedi. At first, y/n thought that din was going to refuse the offer, knowing that they needed the Jedi alive due to the child needing a proper teacher. But of course, Din being a Mandalorian, couldn’t refuse the offer. Which lead them to tracking down the jedi thorugh the dead forest.
“I already told you—“ Din turns to face the Fey. “I’m not going to kill her, I’m going to get her attention and make sure that she helps us with the kid. I just need to find her, that’s all.” He repeats. He’s already explained Y/n his plan, telling him that he woulnd’t do anything to hurt the Jedi and to only ask for their help and hand the kid over to them.
Y/n sighs deeply as he gives the child a glimpse, who sat inside the bag that Din had found for the kid. “I know but I can’t help but get a bad feeling about this.” He mumbles out as Din stops in his tracks and removes the kid from the bag, setting him down with a sigh. “Will be fine.” Din tells him and nods towards the kid. “Stay with him, I’m going to check out the area and see if I can find anything.” Y/n nods at the Mandalorian and adjusts his cape, using it to hide his wings from prying eyes. He’s never liked it when others took notice of his wings, they were precious to him and being a Dark fey was risky, he was the last of his kind and he couldn’t allow anyone to know who he was.
The fey can’t help but pout as he stands next to the child and reaches out to stroke one of its long ears. Keeping him distracted with a small smile. Before he could even say anything he hears the sound of sabers and beskar clashing against eachother.
The dark feys eyes widen as he sees the Jedi and Din fighting with each other, stepping in front of the child to protect him he bares his fangs at the Jedi until Din calls out her name. Causing the two to stop fighting with each other. Din Is quick to tell her that they were sent by bo-Katan and how they have searching for her.
The Jedi, known as Ahsoka, gives the couple a look before she eyes the dark fey that stood over the child. She’s quick to drop her guard and puts away her lightsabers. “I hope it’s about him.” She says as din turns around to see y/n glaring at the Jedi, he gives him a small nod as of saying that everything was okay.
Y/n’s wings slowly drop behind him as he too drops his guard and exposes the child to the Jedi. The two approach him as ahsoka smiles a little, “Hello.” She coos out to the child who returns her greeting with a squeak.
Y/n watches Din pace back and forth as the Mandalorian eyes the Jedi and the child from a distance. He was becoming nervous and anxious, not knowing what to expect from Ahsoka. The fey was standing by a tree, leaning back against it as he sighs. “Din, stop it.”
“I can’t help it.” Din snaps back at his partner of four years. The two have known each other for awhile now and it wasn’t strange for y/n to see Din acting this way, he knows that he’s grown attached to the kid and how much he loves him. But things change and they were tasked to bring him to a Jedi.
Y/n slowly gets irritated by Dins pacing, he knows that he’s acting like a worried father but he can’t help but get a little annoyed. “Din.” He approaches the Mandalorian and reaches out to touch his hand, finally getting Dins attention as he stops pacing.
“It’s going to be okay, whatever Ahsoka is doing she’ll tell us.” He whispers to Din, hearing the other sigh deeply as he looks away. Y/n grows upset as he gently places a hand on one side of the helmet and pulls him back to face him. Without saying a word he leans forward to press their foreheads together. A small tradition that both mandalorians and Dark fey have in common. “It’s okay.” He croaks out this time as Din relaxes under his touch and nods.
As the two pull away, they don’t notice Ahsoka approaching them with the child in her arms. She gives the two a small smile as she sets the lamp down between them and the child in a rock. She sits next to him and sighs.
Din is the first to break the silence. “Can you—Can you understand him?” He asks.
Ahsoka sits up straight and nods. “In a way,” she turns to face the child. “Grogu and I can communicate through the force, giving us the ability to speak with eachother.”
“Grogu?” Both Din and y/n say.
The sudden name call causes the child to perk up, looking over at his parents as he coos out.
Y/n noticed the kids reaction and smirks. “Grogu.” He repeats and again the child’s ears perk up and his eyes widen with joy.
Ahsoka watches the Dark fey kneel down at the child’s level and stroke his long ears as Din sits across from her. She takes this time to explain to him about Grogu; where he’s from and how the Jedi order had fallen during the clone wars. She also tells him about the previous master that was the same species as Grogu that she once knew. Once she’s done explaining the notices the child falling asleep which makes her smile a little. “I’ll train him in the morning, for now we rest.”
Din can only nod as he stands up and takes the kid with him, wrapping him up in his cloak as he heads towards a spot that was comfortable for them to sleep. As y/n rises from the ground he hears Ahsoka ask. “You’re a Dark fey.”
Y/n turns around to see her approach him. “I once met a fey, back when I was still in training.” She says. The feys eyes can only widen in relazation. “You’ve met a fey before?” He asks.
Ahsoka nods her head. “Of course, back when I still training with my masters we once crashed into their home planet. We’ve never heard about their species or where they came from, they were unknown to the rest of the worlds.” She explains. “The ones I met were Aster; the chief of his people and Neela the chiefs wife. She too was a force sensitive but their people didn’t know much about the force so they simply called her, ‘the special one’.”
Y/n is shocked by her words. Have their been Fey around this whole time? Was he not the only one? Could it be possible for him to visit this planet? He had so many questions to ask.
“What—what were they like?” He stutters out, licking his lips as he grips his cloak.
Ahsoka smiles as she nods towards the stump, offering him to sit as she continues to talk about this planet that she once knew.
“The Dark fey were very traditional people and kind. They welcomed us very quickly and taught us their traditions.” She continues on as y/n sits down to listen. “Aster, the chief, had a son who became very close to one of my masters.” She chuckles at the fond memory of her Master Obi-wan.
“Dark fey have this traditions when it comes to finding loved ones,” she says. “Theirs was a dance a very special dance—“ she glanced over at the Mandalorian who was sleeping against a tree with Grogu tucked underneath his arm. “By any chance are you and the Mandalorian together?”
Y/n’s face flushes red as he clears his throat, reaching up to run the back of his neck nervously. “We’ve been bonded together for awhile now.” He shyly looks away from her piercing blue eyes. “Why do you ask?”
Ahsoka hums. “While I was speaking to the child, he told me about you both and how much of a strong connection you have with the Mandalorian.” She adjusts her own cape. “Grogu really cares about you both, he sees you as his family. As parents.” Her eyes sadden at the realization.
Y/n is quick to notice the change of mood, sitting up straight he feels his wings twitch again. “Is that a good thing?” He suddenly grows anxious.
“In your way, yes. But in the Jedi way, it is forbidden.” She sighs out. “In order to become a Jedi you have to avoid attachments. My old Master...he could’ve easily fallen away from the order the day the Chiefs son proposed to him. My master was oblivious during that time and had no idea that the fey was proposing, I could sense his happiness of just being around your people and around him too but—“ she frowns. “He was a selfish fool who only thought about putting his order first before him.” This was the first time that she actually spoke ill about her master. She knew how much Obi-Wan cared and loved the man, she remembers the presents Obi-wan would receive from the fey and how happy he was to just have a small stone given to him. She knew he was happy and she wanted him to stay on that planet with him. But, she can only watch as her master broke the feys heart and telling him that he couldn’t have these attachments. For the first time she felt upset towards her master, upset that he wouldn’t put his own happiness first.
“But, Grogu needs your help.” Y/n whispers out.
“I know he does, but I can’t train him. I can’t lead him down a dark path.” Ahsoka’ voice grows into a small whisper. She knows how much the child means to them and separating him from his family can only upset Grogu and the fear that he holds can easily take him down a dark path, something she can’t bare to see again.
Y/n bites his lip, looking over his shoulder to see his partner and Grogu resting with each other. “Their is another way.” He turns his attention back to Ahsoka. “I can try and train him in the morning but if the child refuses to listen then your second option will be to take him to a Jedi temple. There he will decide his path.”
Y/n heaves out a deep sigh and nods. “Okay.” He says softly as Ahsoka places her hand on his shoulder and gives it a soft squeeze. “Get some rest.” She adds and stands from her spot.
Before she could find her own place to sleep she is stopped by y/n. “The Dark fey, you said their was a planet full of them—do you know where?” He asks desperate to know.
Ahsoka gives him a confused look. “I thought you were from there.”
Y/n shakes his head. “I don’t remember my parents or their names.” He was still a child when he found out that he was the only fey. “I was sold into slavery, passed down by many different masters. I was treated like any other; punished, neglected, sometimes they would tear my feathers away.”
Ahsoka gasps. “A feys wings are considered precious to them and no one is to touch them unless given permission too.” She is shocked to know about this.
“A feys wings are senstive as a child that was my punishment. I didn’t learn how to fly until I got older, but before anything else the mandalorians saved me—“ he looks towards Din and smiles. “Din and I were kids. He was my first friend, my first everything.” He blushes. “We grew up together, I didn’t take the creed due to me being a fey. I wanted to know more about my kind and see if I could find anyone that knew about us but, I never succeed.” He remembers spending his years doing research about the fey, only finding few books and holos about his kind. He remembers annoying the Armorer to let him go search around the area and see if could find just one hint of information about his own people. But in the end he found nothing and accept his fate of being the last one.
But now, now he’s found someone that has met, not just one, but a whole planet full of them and he’s desperate to know where this planet is located.
“I want to see more fey, I want to see my people.” He pleads out. “Please, anything you have can help me.” He looks into her blue eyes, giving her a pleading look.
Ahsoka Can sense his emotions; anger, sadness, joy, relief. She gives off a sad sigh, reaching under her cloak she pulls out a holo. Showing it to y/n. “Before we left I made sure to gather as much information as I could about the Dark fey. Their elders trusted me with this information and allowed me to add their coordinates if we were to ever visit again.” Her fingers graze over the holo before giving it a soft squeeze and handing it over to y/n.
“Take it and go find yourself a place that you can call home.”
Y/ns heart beats loudly as he eyes the holo in Ahsokas hand. Nervously he takes it into his own and bites his lip, holding back tears of joy. “Thank you.”
Ahsoka nods. “You’re welcome.” Smiling at the fey she nudges him towards the Mandalorian. “Best for you to rest, tomorrow we train Grogu.” Y/n sniff and clears his throat. “Right.” He agrees with her and puts away the holo into his own pocket. Turning around he heads towards Din and Grogu, quietly removing his own cape as he drapes it over the two. He sits down next to him and leans his head against Dins shoulder, his wings stretching out and wrapping themselves around his small family and smiles.

Leon Kennedy x F!Reader: REUNION
(A lot of fluff, No Warnings)
Tumblr media
Flashback
1998, Raccoon City Outbreak
“W-We made it.” You panted out of breath looking over at Leon, Sherry and Claire as the train moved away from the broken cart you had to dismantle to get rid of G. You and Leon met outside the RPD Building after the explosion of a near-by truck. You both went through hell together, first dealing with zombies and Licker’s throughout your journey, then dealing with the Tyrant, known as MR. X and including William (G) who you had just obliterated.
“Just like I said we would.” Leon said catching his breath, moving back to inside the cart and sitting on the seat next to the window. You took a seat next to him, he put his hand on your thigh and rested his head back against the wall. Claire was sitting with Sherry who ended up falling asleep during the train journey back to civilisation or at least, what was left of it.
“Hey, Leon?” You whispered, his eyes were closed, he must be exhausted you thought. You placed your hand over his and slid your fingers in between his.
“Hm?” He said softly. He lifted his head and opened his eyes and turned to look at you.
“Where do we go, from here?” You desperately didn’t want to lose this friendship you had built with the four of you.
He sat up straight and turned his body to face yours, moving his leg onto the seat. He took both of your hands into his. “Well, I was thinking, well, more of hoping, you’d like to go out, just me and you.” You couldn’t resist those blue puppy dog eyes.
“I’d love that.” You smiled. You both had been through so much already in the past 24 hours, there was a connection growing between you both and you could definitely feel it, Claire and Sherry could certainly see it.
4 hours later
After you got back to civilisation, you were immediately caught by a police helicopter hovering above you. Turns out, it was the U.S Government, wanting answers from you. Survivors of the outbreak. You were all taken in for questioning, Sherry was in Leon’s custody to be taken care of, while you were taken away to join the BSAA, which was located in the United Kingdom. Claire left to go and find her brother Chris Redfield. You and Leon never saw eachother again. Leon never knew of your whereabouts, he thought about you, every single day since the outbreak. He was trained as a government agent, his skills in combat training and weapons handling were heightened to an extreme level. He promised himself he’d always search for you, he wouldn’t give up.
Present Day
2004
Through your recruitment to the BSAA in the UK, you were assigned to a difficult mission in a rural village located in Spain. You were equipped with grenades, a Model 97 Pump action shotgun, and one special pistol. The one that Leon gave you before you were split up by the government. Matilda. You promised him to return it next time you saw him. And you have kept that promise for 7 years. It reminds you of the good memories being with him during the outbreak, and also the bad memories. It’s more of something that gives you good luck.
You were walking around the village, looking at how quiet it was, the dusty brown ground crunching underneath your boots. You had your shotgun at the ready for anything that came across your path. You had just finished off killing a few Ganados on the way in. They dissolved, it was a sticky mess leaving steam behind as it sizzled into nothing.
“It’s too quiet ..” You said to yourself, keeping your eye on everything in front of you, there was a fire burning in the middle of the village, surrounded by beige wooden shacks and fences. There were more villagers, minding their own business. Most of them were dressed in brown clothing, the women wore dresses like it was the middle ages. They weren’t like normal people like in the city where you now live.
You slowly put your arms down but your hand still clutching the shotgun just incase anymore decided to surprise you. You took light steps until you heard some crashing and villagers shouting in Spanish. You decided to walk to where the commotion was coming from. You came to a house where the villagers were bashing down the door, whoever it was needed your help. A ladder fell from the window before they could climb up through the windows.
“Hey! Over here!” You shouted running to the villagers calling them over to you to distract them. They all turned and lifted their pitchforks, scythes and one guy raised his chainsaw, they were ready to destroy you in as many ways possible. You raised your shotgun and shot each villager a multiple of two times before drop-kicking them, just like the others, their bodies dissolved into a sticky goo leaving some more steam behind. Once they were taken care of, you moved some (H/C) hair out of your eyes, straightening your jacket. A voice called out to you.
“(Y/N)?!” You heard, you looked upto the open window and saw the man you had been searching for, for seven years.
“Leon?!” You had the biggest smile on your face and you ran to the door of the wooden house.
Before you knew it, his arms engulfed you pulling you close to his chest, listening to his heartbeat. You were a lot shorter than Leon, his face was buried into the fur of your coat, clinging to you tightly as if he didn’t want to let you go.
“I missed you so much.” You heard him mumble into your neck.
“I missed you too Leon.” You sniffled, it felt so surreal, you never thought you’d see him again and this time, fate brought you back together. You pulled back and he gave time to look at your face, how much you had changed throughout the years, he admired little features about you, the way your hair fell around your face, the way your (H/C) eyes glistened in the sun, the little dimples in your cheeks. He couldn’t take his eyes off of you. He had changed a lot too, his hair was thicker, his bangs were shaped perfectly covering his eyes just ever so slightly. His blue eyes were brighter than ever, and well, those muscles, lets just say, he worked out a lot during his training. He was wearing a brown jacket with white fur, a black tight fitted shirt, some holsters that held his pistols and cargo pants.
“I thought I’d never see you again.” You said admiring the handsome man in front of you.
“Me too.” He took both of your hands and brought them to his lips giving them lingering kisses.
“I see you’ve taken care of Matilda.” He laughed pointing at Matilda sitting in your holster on your thigh.
“Oh! I did. I made a promise to myself to return it to you.” You took the gun out of your holster and handed it to him.
“No. Keep it, it belongs to you now. As a reminder of the time we first met.” He always knew how to charm you with sweet words. You placed Matilda back in your holster and wrapped your arms around his chest pulling him in for another lingering, warm hug.
You two discussed the events that happened after you two were separated and then during the years that went by. You explained to him what happened to you and who you were now recruited with. The BSAA. Luckily you had some time to kill before moving further into the village. You sat on the steps of the staircase that Leon had run down from.
“So, they sent you out to help find the President’s daughter?” He asked.
You nodded and crossed your legs. “Yes, but they never told me you’d be here.” You let out a giggle. That giggle was something that made Leon’s heart flutter, the butterflies in his stomach grew.
“Then let’s work together. I never want us to be separated again.” He suggested before flicking some hair out of his eyes. He had a hand on your thigh, just like he did those years before, it caused a flush of red to wash over your cheeks, your heart pounding at his touch.
“I agree. I promise, I will never leave your side.” You smiled placing a hand on his forearm, sliding a little closer to his body, you felt the heat come off of him and even though it was cold outside, it made you feel that little bit warmer. It got quiet, all that could be heard was you both shakily breathing, wondering what was going to happen next. His hand slowly slid up your thigh and upto your hip, pulling you closer to him, your hand resting on his bicep. Your left arm finding it’s way around his neck, playing with the little strands of his hair at the back of his head.
He leaned in slowly, a small smile growing on his lips, his eyes slightly closed, his breath smelled of strong mint which left a cool sensation against your skin causing goosebumps to form on every part of your body.
“You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to be close to you.” He whispered.
“Then kiss me, rookie.” You whispered. Although he was no rookie anymore, it reminded him of those times when you’d tease him for being a rookie on the first day of his job at the RPD.
“Oh I’m no rookie anymore.” His husky voice made it unbearable, the feeling of kissing him was growing and it was going to take over you if you didn’t do it now.
His soft lips slowly came into contact with yours, moving in perfect sync. He had never felt this feeling in such a long time. Seeing you for the first time in seven years, it made him fall in love with you all over again, this time, it was stronger, the bond you two had, nothing could compare to it. He pulled you so your chest was pressed to his. He wished he could’ve had you right there and then, but there was a job to be done, and knowing you were working alongside the man you loved, was always a bonus.
He pulled away from your lips, smirking that his kiss was successful, his blue eyes looked into yours, you saw love, you saw wisdom and something else you couldn’t put your finger on it.
“I fell in love with you all over again.” He said softly. He knew what your response would be.
“I love you too.” You cupped his cold cheeks in your warm hands and pressed a kiss to his forehead, lips lingering for a few more seconds.
Nothing could compare to this moment.

Grisly, Grim and a Fucking Delight: Feedback Review
TRIGGER WARNING: Torture, rape, daytime radio DJs. Don’t blame me, that’s just what’s in the movie.
Wow. Wow and a half. Wow and a half between two slices of thick white whoa. What a fucking movie. I’d say something like ‘they don’t make ‘em like that any more’, but they clearly do, because Feedback only came out a few years ago. I am astonished that I didn’t hear about it until tonight. You see, I was looking for an epic, slow-burn thriller to watch with my girlfriend and glamorous assistant, and I came across this little British movie about a radio talk-show host getting trapped in his studio when a bunch of masked psychos invade the premises. “Neat!” I thought upon reading the synopsis and watching the advert. “It’s Diehard but without schlubby, sarcastic Brits instead of overblown yanks.” As it turns out, I was wrong. Feedback is not an enjoyable but ultimately inconsequential gas pocket of a movie: it’s actually one of the most tense, conceptually horrifying and incendiary pieces of cinema- nay, Cinema with a capital C- that I’ve ever had the good fortune to witness. The more I think about it, the more impressed and enamoured I become. Unfortunately, in order to explain why, I’m going to have to spoil the whole freaking thing. For those of you who actually watch movies based on my recommendations (which would be, maybe, like two of you?) I’ll give you a nice non-spoilery recommendation right now: the acting is on-point, the plot is serpentine but not in a pretentious way, every prop and narrative element is used to maximum effect, the atmosphere gets tenser and tenser without ever letting you catch your breath and it’s exactly as long as it needs to be: there’s nothing missing and not an ounce of spare meat on it. It’s a lean, nasty predator of a movie and, if you let it, it will pin you down and rip out your jugular. I’ve only ever described one other movie as ‘transcendent’- a little psychological horror called The Perfection. Well, Feedback gets that exact same sticker but for completely different reasons. If you’re going to watch it- and you should- stop reading this review right now and go do it. It’s amazing.
And now for the spoilers. Consider this more of an analysis than a review. You see, the film reveals early on that the masked psychos invading the studio aren’t just randos with a political or philosophical axe to grind. They have beef with the radio host (whose name is Jarvis, incidentally. You don’t see enough Jarvises, either in real life or in movies. It’s a fun name and grossly underused, but I digress). You see, they think Jarvis’s friend raped a woman, killed another woman and beat the shit out of her boyfriend… and they think Jarvis knows all about it and may even have been involved. They force Jarvis to extract a confession from his friend early on and then kill him live on air, meaning that the rest of the film is devoted to a battle of wills between them and Jarvis as they try to force him to admit complicity, again live on air. Along the way, it’s also revealed that they aren’t just crusaders: they’re survivors of the incident and relatives thereof. Now, from the moment all these pieces were in place, I watched with an expectation of being disappointed. You see, I thought I knew what I was watching: Jarvis is visually and linguistically coded as am older slightly privileged but spiky elitist, so in most movies made after 2010 he’d automatically have been the bad guy (fuck me but do ageing white movie directors love to pretend they’re ‘woke’), while the people attacking him are visually and linguistically coded as youngish (except in one case) and victims, meaning that, in most movies, they would automatically be the good guys (hey, everyone loves an underdog, right?). I assumed I was watching one of those films. You know the ones I mean. One of those oh-so-clever ones that gets you to connect with and root for a character then reveals that he’s a shit-bag and punishes him and- by extension- you the viewer for taking his side. That was clever once, but I’ve now seen it on at least eight separate occasions, and it’s become trite. It’s particularly irksome because the victim-coded characters always get a free pass for their own shenanigans: they can murder, torture, brutalise and dehumanise but it’s always okay because something bad once happened to them. Frankly, I thought that’s what I was in for. Luckily. I was super wrong. That’s like regular wrong, only sexier and with sharper graphics.
You see, Feedback is way too smart to go for a black-and-white good-victims-versus-evil-central-character narrative. Instead, it’s a film about dehumanisation… or is it? You’ll see what I mean. In order to force Jarvis to admit complicity, his assailants don’t just fuck with him and his friend: they straight-up murder an innocent bystander and threaten to murder someone close to the protagonist. They hurt and do terrible things to Jarvis and the people around him, using torture methods that would make fucking ISIS throw up its hands and go ‘steady on, bruv’. They have a version of events that they’re convinced of but have only one unreliable character’s word for and Jarvis has a version of events that they refuse, point-blank, to believe. Jarvis’s story does begin to alter, but it’s never really apparent if he’s actually done something or if he’s just saying he has in order to keep the people around him (and himself) alive. Meanwhile, the ringleader of the little troop trying to extract a confession from Jarvis might be victim, but it also becomes apparent that she’s an unhinged psychopath intent on spilling as much blood as possible for her own personal sense of satisfaction and has as much interest in justice as a black hole has in the history of the stars it swallows up. Hooray! Some fucking moral ambiguity in a movie! I thought the entire industry had just forgotten how to fucking do that!
Much to my delight, Feedback doesn’t stop there. Merely by forcing the audience to make up their own minds about what they think happened and who’s actions are most justified, Feedback is already introducing a level of sophistication alien to modern cinema. But then it goes one step further by also subverting narrative expectations. You see, in a bleak, introspective, what-monsters-are-we-all flick like this, you expect the antagonists’ plan to succeed: you expect the last shot to be of the protagonist broken by the moral blankness of his reality, sitting in the wreckage of his life, unsure of whether he deserves what has happened to him or not. And that would have been a perfectly acceptable way to end this movie. But it doesn’t end like that. Because Jarvis is that rarest of things: a competent and determined dude. He’s not a superhuman. He doesn’t have special training. The flick doesn’t turn into an action movie or anything ridiculous. Jarvis just refuses to accept the bullshit happening to him and systematically works through every possible strategy to extricate himself without caving and admitting culpability that he doesn’t feel. He tries reasoned negotiation. He tries subduing one of the assailants temporarily and using them as a bargaining chip (the minimum necessary force approach), he tries escape and, finally, when all else fails, he uses a combination of psychology, surprise and familiarity with his environment to fight back with lethal force. It’s a considered, intelligent approach and, because his assailants aren’t organised terrorists just ordinary people who may (or may not) have a legit grievance with him, it succeeds and- to cut a long story short- he kills all of them in incredibly satisfying ways. There’s a bit involving a smug, I-can-be-as-evil-as-I-like-because-I’m-a-victim character getting skewered with a pair of scissors that instantly outranks anything in the Saw or Friday the 13th franchises as one of my all-time favourite movie kills (outright all-time favourite still goes to that bit in John Wick 3 with the really creative use of a library book, but that’s off topic).
During the climatic scenes of the movie, Jarvis screams his confession, but- as I said- it might only be a tool to distract his attackers and gain the upper hand while preserving the lives of the people he cares about. Equally, though, it might not. There’s a coldness to the character at the end of the film that wasn’t there at the beginning. Has he just been changed by the trauma of recent events, or are we seeing the facade drop away to reveal the true face of ruthless monster? And here lies the film’s final genius: not only doesn’t it answer this question (ambiguity for the win!) it also seems to suggest that the answer might not matter. Jarvis didn’t prevail because he was innocent- though he might be. His attackers didn’t fail because they became as bad as the thing they sought to fight (though they did). Victory and defeat aren’t defined by moral superiority. The film doesn’t assign winners and loser based on ethical or philosophical standpoint. Jarvis wins because he knows what the fuck he’s doing and his attackers are a bunch of overemotional quarter-wits with a half-baked plan that they can’t even stick to because they get too worked up. Survival, Feedback reminds us, has everything to do with being good at things, and fuck all to do with just being good. At every turn, the film tries to convince us that it has a moral point to make. Characters talk endlessly about truth and lies, justice and injustice… but in the end, it’s all smoke and mirrors. The film doesn’t have a central moral thesis (or, if it does, it’s a profoundly nihilistic one). Its real subjects are survival and will. It’s a study of what happens when two packets of brutal, remorseless determination meet eachother coming in opposite directions. It’s a dissection of the self-preservation instinct and its only real moral is ‘don’t fuck with a smart, grimly determined guy on his home turf if all you have to bring to the table is a short fuse and a big hammer’. Maybe that shouldn’t be refreshing, but in a cinematic landscape where every movie is determined to plant its flag on one side or the other of the political or ethical spectrum, it really fucking is. The fact that it gets you to think about ethical issues and who you believe on route elevates it, but the core of the film- the thing that makes it solid- is that refreshing element of nihilism. Breathe it in, folks: we don’t get many movies like this very often.

What if Marinette had a Retired Police Dog Part 2
I've have had so many request for more Captain, so here you go. Also I just want to say thank you to the maribat community for adopting Captain into the community. Hopefully I do him justice.
Damian really did not want to say goodbye to Marinette yet, but as the sun dipped behind the buildings Marinette had to return to her hotel
Standing in front of the doors of her hotels they said their goodbyes
Marinette: Thanks for the great time Damian. Captain and I had a blast
Damian: I'm glad to hear that and really the pleasure was all mine
Damain bend down giving a kiss the the back of Marinette's hand
Marinette felt the blush grow on her face
Marinette: Will I be able to see you again?
Damian: Of course Angel maybe we can meet again tomorrow I can bring my dog Titus.
Marinette: Sure here's my number I can text you when I have free roam
Damian: I'll be waiting Goodnight Angel, Captain
Damian gave a little salute to the german sheperd
Captain gave a bark in goodbye while Marinette gave a little wave before heading into the hotel
Damain watch her walk away with a dreamy smile on his face until he couldn't see her any more.
Turning around Damian was met with the sight of his brothers all with teasing smiles on their face
Damian now scowling: Shut up morons
Dick: We didn't say anything baby bird
Damian: Your face did
The rest of the way home was spent teasing Damian about his lady love and Dick dramatically called her
Once Marinette had settled down after their day out she settled on her bed and made a call that was meant to be made earlier in the day
Dialing the number she looked up earlier she waited for the person on the other end to answer
Receptionist: Hello thank you for calling Wayne Enterprise, this is Cheryl how can I help you?
Marinette: Hello, I'm sorry for calling you so late, but I'm going to be in the French school trip group coming to tour the building tomorrow and I just had a quick question
Cheryl who was told by Dick earlier about Damian's little girlfriend knew exactly what to do
Cheryl: No problem sugar let me transfer you over to your tour guide. He can answer any question you might have.
Cheryl put Marinette on hold before she could protest about bugging the tour guide and made a call to Dick's cell phone
Dick: Hey Cheryl what do you need
Cheryl: Hey Dick so that girl you were telling about called me, with a question
Dick: No way. Connect her
Cheryl: Right away
Dick to his brothers: Guess who's on the phone
Jason: Damien's girlfriend?
Dick: Ding ding ding we have a winner
Marinette from phone: Hello?
Dick: Yes hello this is Mr. Grayson. How can I help you?
Marinette: Hello I'm Marinette and I'm so sorry for calling so late, but I had an important question to ask.
Dick: Don't worry Marinette, what's your question
Marinette: Well you see thanks to unforeseen circumstances my dog is actually with me on the trip. He's not a service dog, but he's really well trained and well behaved, and I was wondering if I could bring him with me on the tour. If the answer is no that's totally okay
Dick *thinking*: Omg she's adorable
Dick: That's completely fine. We have employees bring their dogs to work all the time. One more dog in the building won't make any more trouble
Marinette: Really thank you so much. And again I'm soooo sorry for calling so late. Have a goodnight
Dick: You too, I look forward to seeing you and your dog tomorrow
Dick: omg Baby Bird your girlfriend is sssooo adorable she was so sweet and shy and polite. I swear if I was talking to her in person I would have squeezed the life out of her
Damian: Don't you dare. You would just freak her out and make her never want to talk to me ever again
Tim: So you want to see her again?
Jason: It's sound like our Demon Spawn has found his true love
Damian could feel his face turn red
Damian: Shut up you idiots
Marinette: Good news Captain you're going to be able to come on the tour tomorrow
Captain gave Marinette a lick on the cheek to show that he understood and was happy about it
Marinette: Goodnight Captain. Goodnight Tikki
Tikki: Goodnight Marinette. Goodnight Captain
Marinette wrapped her arms around Captain snuggling her face into his fur as Tikki laid down on top of Captain
The next day
The class all gathered down in the lobby Marinette and Captain came down last but on time
And of course since Marinette looked happy and had Captain with her Lila had to throw a hissy fit
Lila: What are you doing Marinette. They probably don't allowed dogs at Wayne Enterprise
Ms. Bustier: She's right Marinette you shouldn't bring your dog with you. Captain will have to stay here.
Marinette: But Ms. Bustier I made sure to call ahead of time to make sure it was okay. And you wouldn't want Captain to be locked into a small room all day would you
As Marinette said that Captain looked to Ms. Bustier with the biggest puppy dog eyes he could muster
Ms. Bustier looking into Captain eyes and just couldn't say no
Ms. Bustier: Fine, but he's your responsibility Marinette, and I don't want to see any funny business between either of you. If I see either of you step a toe or paw out of line Captain will be spending the rest of his time in your hotel room. Am I understood?
Marinette: Yes Ms. Bustier! Thank you so much.
Marinette gave a big smile to her teacher before heading back to the class. Standing in the back of the group little away from every one.
Marinette: Dont worry Captain we just have to get through the tour then we can go meet up with Damian again, and we get to meet his dog Titus this time.
Captain gave her another quick kiss on the cheek when he heard somebody approach them
Adrien: Marinette why do you have to cause so much trouble. Captain would have been perfectly fine in the hotel room for a day
Captain forced his body between Adrien and Marinette not wanting the rude boy near his girl
Marinette: well good morning to you too Adrien. I don't see how having Captain with me is causing any problems. He literally only interacts with me. And for your information Captain would not be okay in the hotel all day today and then have to do it again tomorrow. Yesterday I made sure to call all the places we're going to over the trip to find out of Captain could along or not. Since we're spending all day tomorrow going to different museums he won't be able to come with us it would be cruel to lock him up all day 2 days in a row
Adrien: But he's still upsetting Lila, you know could happen if she gets too upset.
Marinette: I don't think a butterfly could fly across the Pacific Ocean Adrien, much less in the time frame we'll be here
Ms. Bustier: Okay everyone let's all get on the bus
Marinette: you better go ahead Adrien. You probably want go sit with your FRIENDS
Adrien catching onto what Marinette was hinting at gave her a small glare, but still ran to catch up to Nino, Alya, and Lila
Captain pressed his head into Marinette's side and tikki did the same.
Marinette: Thanks guys I'm okay
Marinette put one hand on Captain's head and the other on top of her purse
Damian checked over him and Titus one more time to make sure they both looked good
Bruce: I don't suppose your suddened interest in how you and Titus look have anything to do with that little French girl you met the other day
Damian: Don't be ridiculous father-
Dick: It totally does! You should have seen how those two looked at eachother. It was like love at first sight
Damian: GRAYSON!
Jason: it was so ridiculously sweet and she evan has her own dog, a german sheperd
Damian: TODD!
Tim: I did a bit more research, you know to make sure she wasn't a villian in disguise, and according to the adoption records his name is Captain and he use to be a police dog
Damian: DRAKE!! Would you all just stay out of my love life!
Bruce: They just care about you Damian. Weither you like it or not. You should have seen them when Dick first brought home Cori.
Once they got to Wayne Enterprise the family went their separate ways to complete their duties
Damian and Titus hung around Dick waiting for Marinette, Captain, and her class to arrive.
Cheryl: So I heard that you met somebody special yesterday Damian
Damian: wait how do you know about Marinette? Dick???
Dick: Well I had to tell her in case Marinette called yesterday I wanted to be the one she talked to.
Damian: Do you have to share my love life with everybody you know
Cheryl: It's just because we love you Damian. Now tell me everything.
Damian was about to respond with a sarcastic comeback when the class arrived
Dick: Hello welcome to Wayne Enterprise, I'm Dick Grayson I'll be your tour guide today. And this is my little brother Damian and his dog Titus. I hope y'all don't mind but he'll be joining us on your tour today
Ms. Bustier: Not at all it's always nice to make new friends when you're some where new
Damian made his way towards the group his eyes set on Marinette who just walk in after making sure Captain did his business before the long tour, but was intercepted by Lila.
Lila: Hello I am Lila it is nice to meet you
Lila began to speak with a heavy Italian accent.
She was the worst at speaking English in the class
The rest of the class finished introducing themselves when Marinette made it to the group
Damian: It's nice to meet you all, Marinette mentioned she was here with her class.
Alya: Marinette?
Marinette: Damian?
Damian flashing a charming smile: Hey Angel, I hope you don't mind but I found out my brother giving the tour for your class and asked if I could come along.
Damian walked over to Marinette and Captain with Titus following him
Damian: Hello Captain, how are you doing buddy?
Damian slowly lowered his hand giving Captain plenty of time to move away incase Captain didn't want to get a pat from him
Captain decided he would allow it partly because he had to admit he kinda like this kid, and partly because he knew it would freak out some of her class
Kim: Ah he touched Captain
Kim sadly learned the hard way that it took a while for Captain to warm up to someone new
Marinette: And this handsome boy must be Titus
Marinette held her hand out to let Titus sniff her.
Titus being the loving goofball he is gave her hand a big lick before snuggling his head into her hand
Marinette giggling: Well he's a friendly boy huh
Alya: You two know each other?
Marinette: Yeah we met yesterday at the park and just hit it off
Lila with a strained voice: Well isn't that great that you were able to make a new friend.
Damian and Marinette noticed the strain in Lila's voice but it didn't seem like anybody else had or if they did they ignored it
Dick: Alright everybody with introductions out of the way let's get started
Damian and Marinette fell to the back of the group so the can walk side by side with their dogs
While this was going on Titus and Captain were sniffing eachother out as they walked together
Captain: Hello I'm Captain
Titus: I'm Titus. I have just met you, and I love you
Titus gave Captain a big lick on the side of his head
Captain: That's great... So he's your boy
Titus: Yep he's been my boy for years now. He acted like he didn't like me at first but I knew he loved me
Captain: Is he your first human?
Titus: Yes, his father gave me to him when I was 7 months old. What about you, is she your first human?
Captain: No, my girl didn't find me until I was 3 years old. Before her i was a police dog. My partner was my first human. He was a great man and a great police officer. He always made sure I was well fed and when it was a slow night he would take me to the park and play fetch with me...
Captain trailed off his mind going back to the night he lost his partner
Titus: What happened to your first human?
Captain snapping out of his memories: I don't like to talk about it
Titus: Well what about your girl, how do you like her?
Captain: My girl is the best. She saved me from the pound. Her parents brought her there for one of the adoption events, at the time I didn't even know if I wanted another human. I was there for a couple of months, and didn't really have much hope to find a new family. Most people just go for the puppies. So I was just sitting in a corner away from everybody else when this girl comes walking towards. She seemed so sad at the time, like me. She asked me if I wanted to be alone together with her, and i looked into her eyes and something just clicked you know? Like she was also suppose to be my person. After that life turned around for me. My girl just has so much love to give.
Titus: I know what you mean it was the same with me and my boy. Do you have any siblings or a mate?
Captain: No my girl and her family live in a small apartment, so one big dog is their limit. I wouldn't mind having a mate one day though. I do have a couple of friends in Paris and the local dog park, and there's Fang, who's crocodile
Titus: you have a crocodile as a friend cool. I have one older sister Ace, no mate myself yet. I do also have a cat and cow as a friend
Captain: Nice
During the tour Damian noticed that some of Marinette's classmates (Alya, Adrien, and Lila) kept shooting dirty looks back at his Angel
He did his best to not glare back at them, but when Adrien did it for the 10th time on the tour when Marinette wasn't doing anything but softly giggling at stuff Damian whispered in her ear Damian had enough
The next time Adrien looked back at her Damian gave him the scariest look he could muster, which is very scary
Adrien widened his eyes and turned his head around quickly not looking back for the rest of the tour
Dick seeing about half of the interaction assumed that Damian glared out of jealousy and shot him an amused looked when he caught Damian's eyes
After the tour Marinette convinced Ms. Bustier to let her go off with Damian for their free roam
Ms. Bustier let her but made sure she wore the tracking bracelet so incase something happened she would know where Marinette is at
Damian and Marinette decidind to go to a near by dog park to let the dogs roam free
On the way out Damian noticed Adrien quickly walking over to them with a determined look on his face
Not wanting to deal with the annoying blonde Damian quickly guided Marinette outside and into the car
Marinette already figuring out whi Damian really was didn't question it and just let Damian lead her into the car
Damian: I thought you'd be a little more shocked about it
Marinette: I kinda figured it out when Mr. Grayson said you were his little brother
Once they made it to the park the dogs started to run around together and seem to play a game of chase even though Captain seemed a little more reluctant to act a bit crazier like Titus
Marinette: Well it seems like they like eachother
Damian watching Titus give Captain a big lick on the side of his head before running off leaving Captain with what could only be described as disgruntled look on his face.
Damian chuckling: Yeah they sure do
The pair spent another 2 hours at the park going back and forth with sitting in the shade watching their dogs run through the nice dog park and playing fetch with a stick the dogs found
They spent the rest of the afternoon wondering around Downton Gotham Damian showing Marinette all the best sites
As sunset came Damian found himself once again standing in front of the hotel holding Marinette's hands as Captain and Titus watch the interaction
Damian blushing: I've had a great time today Marinette
Marinette: So did I
Damian: I was wondering if you would like to go out to dinner with me tomorrow night, like a date?
Marinette also blushing: I would love to, but can Captain come along
Damian: Of course beside Captain is going to be stuck in your hotel room all day tomorrow it wouldn't be fair to make him stuck in a small room for even longer.
Marinette gave him a beaming smile: Thank you for understanding Damian
Damian: Of course I'll pick you up tomorrow at 7 wear whatever you like.
Marinette hugged Damian goodbye giving him a peck on the cheek as she pulled away
Marinette: I can't wait! Goodnight Damian I'll see you tomorrow
Damian in a dreamg voice: Goodnight Marinette, Captain
Once Marinette and Captain were out of site Damian jumped up and gave a whooped of joy completely forgetting that Alfred could still see him from the car.
Bonus
Alfred on the phone with Bruce: It looks like Damian just asked her put and she said yes
Bruce on the other side of the phone silently fist bumped the air mouthing yes over and over again
Bruce in a monotone voice: That's good
Dick: omg you guys I wish you were there! They spent most of the time quietly whispering to each other and Damian glared at a boy who kept glancing at Marinette it was the cutest thing.

Did I stutter?
(Part 1)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Yunho x Female Reader
Genre: Angst, Smut
Word Count: 4.5k
Summary: Two mafia gangs, enemies to death. And one twisted, dark desire connecting the two.
A/N: Mafia!Au, Shooting, Kidnapping, Slight Gunplay, Degradation, Cursing
___
“Everything’s planned and there will be no re-arrangements”, the dark-haired man in the boss’ chair talked with a clear but low voice. His raven black eyes darted at each and everyone of us standing around the glass table. A few nods and agreements later, Hongjoong stood up, nodded and looked at the clock that hung above the entry door. “Everyone’s at their told position at exactly 1am. Not much time left so you better prepare and hurry. I want no mistakes. The raid will be fully under control.”
“Yes, boss”, my colleagues all agreed with the leader and then left the room with their heavy, black coats on and their hidden weapons. Next to the basic guns everyone in the gang had with them like a second skin, each one had their own specialty. If it was the shotguns, a simple baseball bat, the handling of daggers or garrote wires. Everyone had their skill and mine consisted of my two babies on my back. Two of the sharpest and most dangerous daggers were placed crosswise on a belt around my lower back, hidden under the thick coat but perfect to reach in a heated situation. Not only had I been trained by Hongjoong the leader and best skilled man in the gang himself but also did my flawless skills brought me to the position of Hongjoong’s personal assistant and best assassin. Although the relatively young leader wasn’t even a bit soft from the outside and was able to intimate people with his simple presence, I could see the man behind the stern expressions and fierce orders. There was a caring core, a man caring for his people, for his family. He wasn’t the same person without the people around him, supporting him till death would part us all. We basically had no secrets from eachother, I knew the men in this gang as well as they knew about me and my imperfections. On this high level of professionalism that we all possessed, only the skilled ones were able to see other’s flaws and only like that, we could improve ourselves on a daily training basis.
Life in such a gang wasn’t a piece of cake. Days were packed with group and individual training sessions that could easily last until the sun was down again and you’d be sore for days. Going to bed at 3 in the morning after having had a hot shower and some stretching exercises had become a natural routine for me. There wasn’t much time for oneself. If it wasn’t for training, time would pass during meals with the others before the next session was due. That or some special tasks that would come directly from Hongjoong in my case. As his personal assistant, I for instance was responsible for the newcomer training session with the basic weapons everyone needed to master before going to an actual mission. So needless to say, I had made a name in the gang. And not only because I was the only female in the task force, my sharp working, skilled hands and an intimidating image spoke for themselves. Even rolemodel fighters with the same level as me knew not to mess with me. My temper was under control mostly but hell, you didn’t want to make me mad.
Not if you didn’t want to lose some fingers.
While I was sharping my precious daggers, seated on the boss’ table, I felt the presence of another pair of eyes on me. So I didn’t even have to look up to know how Hongjoong was observing me once again. It was a habit of him, I guess it made sense to observe the members of his pack. In the end, we were the ones to fuck everything up if the worst happened. He was very strict considering the selection of people that were allowed to go on a mission. Only the best ones were qualified, a newcomer needed years of training before being allowed to do little tasks on their own. The punishment for a failed mission…well, they were connected with not only shame and disgrace within the members of the gang but also with being banned from missions for an awfully long time.
I had already gone on multiple missions. Not only raids and assassination missions, there had been countless interrogations that I had to lead, to get the precious information squeezed out of someone. And I was good at my job. There had been crashed missions, ruined by my team. We succeeded in stopping our enemies from making business profits countless times. If my team was something then we were stubborn and hard to rip off once we were glued on someone.
But every gang had that one person that was especially hard to deal with. In our gang I guess that this person was me, but in the pack of our enemy it was this one man, the biggest pain in the ass.
Jeong Yunho.
This awfulness of a man had been the constant burden, an annoying problem that kept appearing out of nowhere, when we least expected him to pop up and when we needed that extra portion of trouble the least. That man was the issue in my usual flawless rapports that kept making me look like a failure. It was because of him that Hongjoong kept pushing me harder, he wanted me to finally get rid of that plague.
And so, I had almost made it a personal mission to observe Yunho over the years.
Needless to say, Yunho hadn’t been involved in all my missions considering his pack. Even when we were sabotaging their traffic or their own missions, he had sometimes only been in the background. But the few times I had met him on the battlefield, I could catch a lot of his shadow-like character.
Although he must have been in my age, he was boosting with not only seriousness surrounding him in everything that he did, but he was also that kind of person that could easily snap your neck without even flinching. He was stern but could also throw those awfully annoying jokes at his enemy that was about to shoot a bullet in his head. He wasn’t scared to die. Yunho was skilled, there was no doubt about it. I had seen it myself, how fast his reflexes were and how well he was with controlling his physical strength. Yunho had brought down too many men of our gang, his team wasn’t even that big but fuck, sometimes they came over us like a lightning. Nevertheless, Yunho wasn’t the actual leader of the enemy’s pack. He was their best taskforce member and basically had the same position as me in my gang. I knew him that well because he kept making those vendettas between the two packs about him and me. I hated how he used missions as some kind of competition between good fighters. What was his profit of that?
He wanted to see us fail, wanted to see me fail.
Wanted to see me break and fall.
But hell did he know that I wanted the same with him.
I didn’t chose to stand in constant competition with this asshole of a man. He was the enemy and I wanted nothing with seeing him dead. That’s what I wanted. Not his provocative comments when he succeeded and I failed. Not that smirk he wore whenever we would meet in a heated scene. Not that over-confidently look everytime he tried to rile me up, just to make my own confidence drop. Hell, it wasn’t working. He would never get enough satisfaction from all those games he was playing. I wasn’t his fucking puppet but a fierce competitor that wanted him to break.
I must had zoomed out completely in my raging thoughts, since I needed a few seconds to notice what Hongjoong now had said towards me.
“Everything’s planned”, the male in front of me mumbled once again, more to himself. It made me nod hesitantly. Focus on this mission.
“As you said before. It will work out, don’t worry. We have gone through this plan so often. They will be fucked after our little visit.”
And then, every sense of possible doubt or insecurity was vanished from Hongjoong’s face. He was into that cold state of mind, which would leave me scared and sleepless at the beginning of my career. If I hadn’t known him better, my knees would have given up right then and there. But now I was just hopping off the table as he had gotten his coat on, put the shotgun around his frame and rushed out of the headquarter – with me by his side.
“Let their heads roll.”
__
12:46.
That was what my silver wristwatch told me as I was around the corner from the enemy’s local point. They also had their headquarter but we did our research and knew for a fact that this gang had meetings in their own underground bar every night basically. But on every Thursday night there would be a bigger scene down there, not only casual hangouts, some clients and no-names. On Thursdays like this one, there would be the high class in that basement and we were ready to finish our rivalry with them on this day. End the rivalry without peace but with their blood on our guns.
It was a cold spring night and the thin leather gloves didn’t really bring me the warmth my body craved but right now I couldn’t care less about being cold. There was a mission and a clear target. Through the little microphones we had in our ear, the gang members kept sending their status updates about their positions and condition, something we were required to do. Hongjoong would get crazy mad if someone would so on a solo trip without communicating, the punishment for that was worse than making small mistakes.
“In position”, I heard another whisper through the microphone. With my eyes on the bar entrance, I was keeping my position as planned. A thousand times before. I didn’t need more than a few extra seconds to spot two of our snipers, positioned in the third floor of the building opposites the bar’s front and of the side entrance.
“Jane, update.” Hongjoong’s sudden voice in my ear made me slip back into reality. I cleared my throat.
“Sorry, in position.”
“Good. Wait for the green light then.”
With that, the voices disappeared and I could notice the city’s nightlife sounds. They were faded in the background since we weren’t exactly in the most popular and crowded quarters of the city. The streets here were narrow, dark and only semi-lit from the old street lanterns. There weren’t any citizens passing by, there was a cat rushing from car under another but next to that, silence. Suffocating silence even. I could hear my own heartbeat in my ears next to the loud breathing. I was stiff but my hand was already under my coat, always ready for any unwanted surprise. The cold daggers were like an extension of my arm, I would only have to lift my arm and a throat would be covered with a cute red line. People really shouldn’t mess with me if I had my uniform on. The daggers were on my lower back while the colt was in its pocket attached to the belt around my waist. The chains around my chest weren’t only aesthetic as well, if I needed to use them to tie someone up, I would with no hesitation. Black hair was braided so it wouldn’t become a burden.
“12.57, get ready. Guards are out of sight apparently. Have you checked?” As soon as I heard Hongjoong’s voice, I couldn’t help but notice the lack of people guarding the basement. Usually there weren’t always some men there as well but still, it let me question things. Did it mean something or was it just their own casualty that made them forget guards on their bar? Right then, the snipers and the task team confirmed that there wasn’t anyone around, not even on the back of the bar. Meant we had free field.
“No snipers?”
“No snipers either, sir.”
“1am. Let’s go then. Go, go, go!”
And with Hongjoong permission, we started the mission. While my heart was beating up to my ears and I could feel how sweaty my hands got in the gloves, I watched the first wave rush across the street like shadows. Silent and almost flowing they reached their position. Two on the entrance, one on the side entrance, three at the back and the snipers ready to stop anyone who would try to slip through our hands. I made eye contact with the one on the side who then nodded back at me as I gave him permission to storm in. And after a few exchanged orders, they were all inside. I could only hear three loud doors banging open and people shouting messily, inaudible what they were saying.
Furniture crashed around.
Shots.
People wildly screamed.
Guns clicking.
Glass shattered.
Cries of help.
Footsteps, people running, tripping, falling.
All this was audible from my distanced position. My fingertips were tingling. Not sure if it was from the cold or from the fact that I didn’t take my hand off the dagger since Hongjoong gave the order to attack. I could only imagine what was happening in there. For now, not one soul left the bar. Not one enemy, not one member of the own pack. Only 7 minutes had passed as I looked at my watch. Time seemed to fly past me. I wanted to be in there, help them, shoot the enemy, bring this to a definite end.
This enemy had been an unpleasant burden for us for many many years now. Not only were they the biggest competitor when it came to our traffic business but also had they killed dozens of our men. They were known for their strategy and clever field tactics. They had smart heads in their teams that figured out how to drag their competitors down, make them fail or lose sudden profit. How often did we hear about them having stolen trucks full of our goods. They kept hacking in our systems, trying to do the same we were doing with them for years. Their task force on the other side, with which I had to deal most of the times, was as clever and tactical as ours. They would come up with backup plans that were as unexpected as they were dangerous to us, however we knew their game. We weren’t stupid. We had a whole time that was analyzing their steps and tricks on a daily basis. We knew them and they knew us. It was a rivalry on a high level, with dirty tricks and lots of blood flowing between the fronts. The people from the enemy gang weren’t too underrate at all, but so weren’t we. They were the biggest pain in the ass and we had reached a point where almost weekly streetfights just weren’t enough anymore. A new strategy had to come up. And Hongjoong had enough of those little plans, he wanted to go all in with this mission.
___
“We will show them that they can’t mess with us anymore. We will bring this rivalry to an end, whatever the costs will be.”
And he was very specific about that ‘whatever the costs will be’ part. He literally had the coldest and most stern face on in that meeting that he showed us in a very long time. He really meant what he brought to plan later on. The mission was clear. Set a sign. Bring them to fall. Bring them to their knees and let them beg for their dear lives. Show no mercy. Think of all the brothers they had taken away from us.
___
I was already changing my weight from one foot to the other as I was getting a little impatient by now. I sighed out loud while I waited for someone to give an update.
Someone. One soul.
Fucking hell, where were all of them?
“Help”, someone then finally broke the silence and it left me gasping.
“Yes, green light?”
“Come in, n-now.”
They didn’t need to tell me twice. And so I rushed across the street, a shadow myself. Daggers ready at hand as I pushed the door, which was already open and went inside the narrow and semi lit bar. I tried to keep my breathing as quiet as possible as I was looking around. Like a cat I scanned my surroundings while moving deeper in the building, slowly checking my back again before I rushed down the old stairs that made some creaking noises under my heavy boots. For a moment, I was surrounded by pure darkness and wondered why but when I reached the bottom of the stairs and stepped on a broken lightbulb, everything seemed a bit more like a recent fight. With a careful but swift movement, I turned around towards the actual room where the bar was, ready to cut some throats as my hands now held both dagger handles.
But to my shock, there was no need to.
With wide eyes, I scanned the pale faces of my gang members, some already covered in blood, some were as clean as me. Their hair was messed up, guns in their hands. I then dropped my eyes to the motionless bodies on the floor. Clearly they were dead, the blood puddles under their heads and bodies were enough proof and the fact that my men were standing still in front of those on the floor showed me that they weren’t any danger anymore. The bar was a complete mess. On the huge shelf above the actual bar counter barely were any bottles left. Most of the shattered glass was on the counter, spread all over the wooden floor or even in the hallway where I was standing. Chairs were spread across the whole room, as well as the heavy tables. It was pure chaos, nothing else. Nevertheless, something wasn’t right and this feeling made cold shivers run down my spine. With hesitation, I looked up at their lost faces once again.
“This…makes no sense. There weren’t only these four people.” Although it wasn’t a question, I didn’t seem sure about what to ask them since they looked clueless as well. No, there had to be more to it.
“We stormed the bar and all we found were two people in here and these two hiding in the backrooms”, Mingi’s explanation made me clench my jaw and grab my gun firmly. I needed to see it myself. The clock was ticking and this mission just couldn’t be already over, what- ten minutes?
“One will stay here and report. One follows me to the other rooms. Hurry up!”, their hesitation made me get impatient as hell, so I sounded even harsher than I usually did. It was enough to make Mingi gulp and quickly follow me out of the big room.
“But there aren’t even too many other rooms-”, I cut Mingi by shushing him and nodding into the direction of the stairs.
“Go upstairs and check every fucking room, turn every table, report and be fucking careful. They are fucking with us, I know it.”
Mingi didn’t hesitate to go upstairs when I told him to. Although he was at least one and a half heads taller than me, he was intimidated by me and it was good like that. Now I was the one who needed to be rational. Once Mingi was gone, I decided to check the bathrooms, well – one dirty trashhole consisting of two disgusting cabins. Nothing. I made sure to not fling the doors open like a maniac so if there actually still was someone, they wouldn’t be gone by now. With piercing eyes and a heart that was alarmingly loud against my chest, I rushed into the next room, then the next. They were all empty! Fuck.
Once I had checked every room and arrived at the main room twice, there was no patience left in my body. My nerves had found an end and I just wanted to solve the mystery why they weren’t in here. What the fuck had they set up? By now, the fact that they had probably planned something bigger was the loudest thought in my head right now and I hated this deep down to my guts. I could hear Mingi talking through his microphone as I was making my way towards the bathrooms again. I didn’t really hear exactly what Mingi was discussing but based on the frustrated stuttering that left his mouth, he was probably talking to a very unpleasant Hongjoong. Fuck, now I didn’t want to imagine how raging the leader must have been. Did we fuck up? I mean we killed all the men in the bar and that was the mission as far as I could memorize. But my guts told me something bad was coming for us. For all of us.
A loud bang interrupted my messy thoughts and made me flinch heavily. The fuck was that? It didn’t come from inside. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Wide eyed, I instantly rushed around the corner but paid attention that nobody would surprise me from any of the rooms I had already checked a hundred times before.
“Mingi”, I hissed into the microphone as I was facing the backdoor. There was a suffocating silence on the other end of the line and it made me want to scream up the stairs. Was he deaf? “Mingi, this is a fucking order. Answer me, what happened?”
“Jane, what is going on in there? Do you need more men?”, Shit, I didn’t need Hongjoong to ask the same as I wanted to ask Mingi. Was was this man doing upstairs?
And there it was again. A loud banging sound, clearly from outside. I wanted to call Mingi again but there was no way that I could wait for him to answer right now. With a pounding heart and a dagger in my sweaty hand, I pressed my back at the backdoor. For a moment I closed my eyes, a way that I could prepare to storm out later. Breathe in, breathe out.
3…
2…
1…
“Jane, answer!”
The door swung open, a trashcan fell on the ground from the collision with the wooden door and filled the darkness of streets with an echoing sound. I looked around with wide eyes, hot breath created a cloud infront of my face.
This … this didn’t make sense. Where did that loud bang come from? Where the hell was Mingi and what was the plan of the enemy? I was almost growling out of frustration as I looked around and walked a few steps before Hongjoong’s loud and clearly affected voice broke the piercing silence once more.
“Jane, for fuck’s sake! Answer me, or I-”
“Or you will what?”
The voice behind me made my heart drop. I thought my knees would give in – not this voice. Anyone’s but his. Never in a million years would I have expected that fucking man behind me and especially not right on my ear. Out of reflex, I gasped loudly but had enough fighting instinct inside of me so that I could swing my arm out. The dagger hitting nothing but air created a sharp sound, but that sound was interrupted when the person grabbed my wrist and twisted my arm effortlessly. A sharp and painful scream escaped my mouth. The dagger fell to the ground, my wrist was pounding I just wanted to end that person.
With all the force I had, I tried to rip my arm out of his harsh grip which turned out to be impossible. So I went over to my second option, grabbed the second dagger and instantly slammed it back where the man’s torso should be placed. And apparently it worked, the man groaned and cursed loudly before he grabbed that hand as well.
“You’re a very clever one, huh?”, his low voice right on my ear made me quiver and feel sick to my stomach but the moment didn’t last too long since moments later, I found myself slammed against the brick wall, face forward, his body behind me. I winced in pain and shifted as much as I could, trying everything for him to let go. I tried to kick, bite, to smack him upside the head.  His grip on my wrists only got harsher and actually hurt like hell. At one point he was shifting a lot behind me and even held my wrists in one hand. Even then I couldn’t free himself, no matter how much I moved them and fought against the grip that would surely leave bruises on my body.
“Get the fuck off me! I will literally rip your head off if you don’t-”, I wanted to scream again in hopes the gang would hear me. But before I could even raise my voice, the tall man pressed some kind of fabric against my mouth, covering my nose too with his big hand. I fought against the wet cloth, knowing very well what that was. I wouldn’t faint! As the panic inside of me was rising, I couldn’t help but to breathe faster and uncontrolled. The man had me caged against the wall, I couldn’t move my arms, nor could I kick him, or bite him.
I was trapped.
“Give up already, little one. You’re not winning this fight”, the man behind me growled in my ear as his lips were brushing against my skin which made me gasp again. But this time, that was a horrible idea. Having breathed in way too much of the chloroform, I could feel the strength leaving my body within seconds. My attempts to hit him were reduced as my muscles seemed to shut down. It was getting hard to keep the eyes open.
“Jane? Jane! Answer!”, Hongjoong.
Once again I tried to collect the rests of my strength. I needed to talk to him, he would help me. Anyone would rescue me. Frustrated filters however were the only sounds that left my lips as the stranger only pressed me harder against the wall, soon I even felt an arm tightly around my waist. Without, I would have probably fallen on the ground already.
“H…h-hong..”
“Sorry to disappoint you but this girl will go offline now”, Yunho talked into the ear where I had my microphone in, again I felt his lips against my ear but this time I could literally not do anything against him anymore. My vision got blurry, every sound faded to the background and I felt the urge to lie down.
The last thing I could remember was my numb body getting picked up, footsteps, muffled curses…
then blackness.

Naruto OC: Naegi “Hanako” Hatake
This took way too long to make, but you guys have no idea how happy I am! I'm actually proud of it! I had like 13 Naruto OCs, when I was 10 years old, eventually I removed them from Naruto and gave them their own story... and now I started rewatching Naruto at 22 and I made like 8 NEW OCs, Hanako, a Kakayama fankid being the first of the bunch! Yes there's more to come... eventually. NOW, as for Hanako:
Name: Naegi „Hanako” Hatake Birthdate: August 30. (Virgo) Gender: Female Age: 11 Height: 145 cm Weight: 41 kg Blood Type: A Kekkei Genkai: Wood Release Affiliation: Konohagakure Rank: -
Nature Type:
   -          Wood Release
   -          Lightning Release
Parents:
   -          Tenzo
   -          Kakashi Hatake
Background:
Naegi was created as part of one of Orochimaru’s experiment projects. He mixed people’s DNA together to create new life, but he abandoned the project before it was completed. Tenzo found Naegi in the abandoned lab on a solo mission, about a year after he joined Kakashi’s team in Anbu. He found she was a mix of his and Kakashi’s DNA, because Orochimaru hoped to create another successful Mokuton wielder with the Hatake Clan’s chakra density. Tenzo felt a connection with her, and asked The Third Hokage to leave her in his care, as they’re essentially the closest thing either of them has to having a family. The Third Hokage allowed him to keep her and look after her in complete secrecy, even from Kakashi. For a long time Tenzo viewed her just as someone related to him who shares his origins, and he didn’t want her to go through the same things he did. However as she grew he started to think of her more as his daughter. She grew up mostly alone, as Tenzo was constantly away on missions. When she was about 3 years old, after the Uchiha Masacre, Kinoto showed up at their home, trying to reconcile with Tenzo. Of course Tenzo didn’t trust him at all, afraid Danzo had sent him and he made sure he won’t find out about Naegi’s existence. Still giving him a chance he slowly let him into his life and it was working out for a while. Until Naegi accidentally revealed herself to Kinoto a couple of months later. After Tenzo threatened Kinoto on his life, Naegi and Kinoto actually got along great relatively fast. He quickly became sort of a Step-Father/Uncle figure to her.
Soon after that she used the Mokuton for the first time, (making flowers sprout and bloom around her, hence earning her the nickname Hanako) which left Tenzo in more than his fair share of despair. He hoped she didn’t inherit the Mokuton and wouldn’t have to face the same life he does. He begged Hiruzen not to force her into the Shinobi life when the time comes, which he allowed but only if she gets homeschooled regardless and Tenzo teaches her how to use the Mokuton just in case. Which was working out for a short while, until Danzo found out about her existence, and kidnapped her. Tenzo was livid. He entered Sage mode for the first time, and turned the Foundation base inside out, and with Kinoto help he got Hanako back. After that Kinoto had completley earned back Tenzo’s trust and place in their family. After all this, Tenzo grew overprotective of her, and didn’t really let her out anymore, specially not alone, fearing the Mokuton put too big of a target on her back. Tenzo and Kinoto trained her the following years, her only friend was Konohomaru and his gang who once accidentally dropped in their garden when she was 8 years old. She was around the same age when Tenzo told her of her real origins, Kakashi, the founding of Konoha and the significance of the Mokuton. She decided she wants to become a shinobi, despite Tenzo’s worries, to protect that legacy and the people who sacrificed for it. Tenzo waved off the idea, telling her she doesn’t need to become a shinobi to do that. That didn’t deter her, she upped her studies and training, even occasionally sneaking out to watch the other kids at the Academy.
Years passed this way, Tenzo and Kinoto training her, even after Kinoto and Tenzo had split up, they remained close. She was 11 years old when Tenzo (by now working with Team 7) went on a special mission with Kakashi and three others. Kinoto showed up at their home at the crack of dawn to tell Hanako that Tenzo is in the hospital, badly hurt, but stable. They were ambushed on their way back home from the mission, the other three died and Kakashi was still missing. Desperate, because she wanted to meet Kakashi ever since she found out about her other father, and because she knew how much Kakashi meant to Tenzo, she stole an Anbu gear, Tenzo’s Anbu mask, and sneaked out to find Kakashi herself.
Personality:
Hanako took a lot after Tenzo, naturally, having grown-up with him. She’s generally cheerful, kind, calm and collected, quick both in mind and on her feet. She’s also ambitious, and stubborn, relentlesly training and working towards her goal of becomming a shinobi one day, to protect her loved ones and the legacy she’s left with. She’s proud of her abilities and skills. She’s also overly concious of the weight of the Mokuton, which also leaves her overconfident and arrogant at times. She knows she’s more skilled than most kids her age, which also leads her letting her guard down more easily. Because there’s so few of them she’s also incredibly loyal and devoted to her family and the people in her life. However she also tends to get emotional and impulsive when family and friendship matters are on the table. Because Tenzo, Kinoto, and occasionally Konohamaru are the only people she ever knew she has trouble connecting with new people, unsure how to approach them and how to behave around others. In these situations she usually reverts back to the one thing she’s sure of, her skills and her pride in those skills, so she usually comes across more arrogant and smug (even though she IS smug) to new people. However outside of training, around people she knows, she’s carefree and playful, she likes to play pranks on Kinoto, trying to catch him off guard. She’s also gets easily frustated and annoyed when her skills and abilies are questioned, Tenzo not letting her attend the Academy and become a shinobi is an age-old constant conflict between them that she refuses to let go of and frustates her beyond reason.
Relationships:
Tenzo: Even if he was absent for most of Hanako’s childhood, after he began training her, they grew very close. They’re in-tune with eachother’s emotions and thoughts, they’re essentially on the same wave-lenght about most things. They can always tell when the other is bothered by something or is in a bad mood, they also share a sense of humor, both of them love to creep out others and occasionally play pranks on them. Hanako is extremely loyal and grateful to Tenzo, for everything he’s done for her, in a way she feels she owes him, specially after he tells her their shared origins. Because of this she’s pretty protective of him and his reputation and gets frustated when he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. The only, and biggest source of conflict between them, which only gets worse as Hanako grows older, is Tenzo’s overprotective nature. She wants nothing more than prove herself and become a shinobi to protect her family like they protected her, which Tenzo denies time and time again. Whenever they fight about it, it leaves both of them bitter and frustated, but they usually make-up in a few hours. They both understand where the other is comming from, Hanako knows why Tenzo is so worried about her, and Tenzo understands why Hanako wants to get out there but neither of them is willing to back down.
Kinoto: After Tenzo, Hanako is probably the closest with Kinoto. They easily clicked and got along when she was little, and he quickly grew to be sort of a Step-Father/Uncle figure to her. She usually confides in him with her frustrations about Tenzo’s overprotectiveness. She also enjoys training with him more, because they always have little playful challenges between them, he never pulls his punches against her, but most importantly she doesn’t feel the need to impress him, like she does when training with Tenzo.
Konohamaru: She considers Konohamaru a friend, but more of a „that wierd kid who occasionally drops by” kind of friend. They usually just chat and hang whenever Konohamaru comes by, and he usually tells her whatever’s going around in the village, he’s her main connection to the outside world, and even if she wouldn’t admit it, she grew quite fond of him as the years passed. There’s a friendly rivalry between them, they spar whenever one of them learns a new technique, Konohamaru to show off, and Hanako to prove, she’s just as good as him, despite not being an official shinobi.
Abilities: Her skills are generally above average for her age. Had she attented the Academy, she would be well on her way to becomming a Chunnin. Having been raised and trained by Anbu, she’s fairly skilled in Taijutsu and Kenjutsu. What she lacks in physical strength she makes up in speed. She’s fast both in mind, and on her feet. She’s specially skilled with swords, however she always preffered daggers and kunais.
Ninjutsu: She can perform all the basic jutsu Genin are capable of, like the Clone Jutsu and Substitution Jutsu.
Wood Release: She discovered she can use Wood Release when she was almost 4 years old. For a long time all she could do was grow flowers, and make plants around her bloom, which earned her the nickname Hanako. As the years and her trainings progressed, she quickly caught on. According to Tenzo she has a real talent for it and with time she could become a real force of nature. A strange thing about her Mokuton, is that she’s unable to use Earth and Water Release seperatley, she has both inside of her, but she’s completley unable to use them, only when she combines them into Wood Release. She’s also unable to heal herself even with the Mokuton, only her smaller bruises and cuts heal faster than normal.
By age of 11, she’s able to use the following Wood Release techniques:
   -          Wood Clone Technique: She can only make one, it generally takes a great effort for her to maintain for a longer period of time.
   -          Transmission Wood
   -          Wood Release: Transformation
   -          Wood Release: Hand Tool Manipulation
   -          Wood Release: Wood Locking Wall
   -          Wood Release: Four-Pillar House Technique: Her buildings are not even nearly as grand as Tenzo’s, but she can make a mean tree house.
   -
Lightning Release: At age of 11, she’s currently unable to use any Lightning Release jutsus, however she can build up lightning chakra inside of her, and zap whoever she touches.
Other Skills:
She has sensory abilities, she hadn’t discovered yet, she’s able to have a vauge sense of people through plants and other vegetation.
Weaknesses: Her general weakness lies in her impulsiveness and pride. When her pride or reputation is on the line, she rushes into situations and puts too much faith in her Mokuton and easily lets her guard down, leaving herself open to attacks. She doesn’t know when to back down, specially when the issue/conflict is personal, it easily clouds her judgement. She also has troubles with chakra control that incredibly frustates her. She always uses up way more chakra than neccesary, which leaves her quickly exhausted. Me: *Has over 29 pages of notes on OCs* Man, I better not write too much, or it'll be incomprehensible and boring : / Also me: Dumbs and shortens down everything so much it becomes incomprehensible and boring ANYWAYS, I hope I didn't forget anything crucial, I might add some things here and there, like a fun facts segment or something, I haven't decided for sure yet, this is probably it for now.

it's officially July but I'm still on pride mode!!! can't stop won't stop
Here are my lgbt+/queer hcs for class 1(g)A(y)!!! Here's what they are in case you don't recognize all of the flags (bc let's be real before I started coloring this I wouldn't recognize at least a few of them either ;^; ), strap in bc it's going to get l o n g:
(also they’re listed in the order they’re shown in the deviantart post rather than this one oop)
- Ojiro is trans!! I feel like he prefers being stealth but still celebrates with all his classmates because it's such a special occasion :') - Tooru is pan and a demigirl!!! It's her first pride and she's hyped!!!! And full of love!!!!! Love Is Stored In The Tooru!!! - Todoroki is a gay demiboy!! His trauma has made his experience with gender rather vague and blurry but he's still happy to have a label to somehow describe himself!! He's using End*vor's credit card to buy all of his friends pride merch!! - Midoriya is bi and trans!! He's been so happy to see his friends discover themselves and even more so to see them celebrating :') - Iida is bi!! As the second of the three members of the Rich Kids Club, he also wants to support and reaffirm his friends by buying them pride stuff!! - Kirishima is gay and trans!! I hc that he's been basically the class' go-to for gender identity/sexuality stuff bc he's been out-and-proud since Day 1 until pretty much everyone had a big coming-out ("I'm gay!" "Cool! I think I might be bi! :0c" "I...might...not be a girl???" "I'm pretty sure I'm [ace/genderfluid/etc.]" "What's that?" "Oh, it's [...]" "...might have to look into that. I think it might fit me too?" " :'D !!!!! " ) (he probably cried bc he was so proud of everyone) and then things calmed down a bit . He's a tinsy bit sad ppl no longer come to him for it but he pushes it down because he's just so!!!!!! happy to be surrounded by so many ppl like him!! - Bakugou is gay, trans and demisexual!! The last part was the hardest for him to figure out and he spent a lot of time being confused at other people, it was when Sero shared his own orientations that he thought maybe he wasn't as alone as he had thought :') - Uraraka is bi!! She's spent years thinking her crushes on girls were just her being jealous/wanting to be friends with them/not as important/stong as the crushes she's had on boys. She's getting over that internalized stuff now and I'm proud of her!! - Tsuyu is a trans girl and a lesbian!! She's been very open about wanting people to call her "Tsuyu-chan" because she chose that name herself!! And she's so happy that everyone here is supportive of her and each other!! - Yaomomo is also a lesbian!! This is her first pride, she's so excited to see all these people with different identities and experiences come together, and while she could easily create pride merch herself she much rather prefers supporing the indepentent LGBT+/Queer creators selling their own! (Hence why she bought two different variations of the lesbian flag for both her and Jirou!) (and probably many more of the stuff you see everyone wearing lol) - (Speaking of,) Jirou is also also a lesbian and also nonbinary!! Her only connection to girlhood is her love for other girls, but other than maybe updating her wardrobe a little she doesn't mind presenting femininely. - Sero is asexual, demiromantic and genderflux!! He's v. chill about everything, he probably found out and was like "Oh. Ok cool. I'm hungy" like he has a very laid-back attitude abt his identity/orientation but he Will defend his friends' to hell and back. Group mom heck yea - Kaminari is bi and nonbinary!! He was scared shitless to the point of losing sleep when he started figuring out that he miiiight like boys too, and even more so when he realised he might not even be a boy?? Thankfully being surrounded by so many supportive people (and having Kirishima as one of his closest and more trustworthy friends) helped him accept himself :') - Mina is pan and trans!! She's always been very open about being a Romantic™ but rather than being the Disaster Pan that gets flustered around everyone, she's the Disaster Pan that flirts shamelessly using Terrible pick up lines ("If we were dating...heh.....let's just say horses wouldn't be called horses anymore ;) " was the first ever thing she said to Kirishima, which earned her an extremely confused and somewhat flustered "I'm????ga y???? ???????" (it was the first time he'd admitted it out loud so he kinda thanks her for that) ) - Tokoyami is bi and trans!! A while back I read a fic that happened to have trans Tokoyami in it and was like "You know what. Yeah I can see it!" Emo culture is probably what helped him realize, with it playing around with and disregarding gender stereotypes and everything. - Aoyama is transmasculine, genderfluid and aromantic!! For the longest time he'd much rather have people mistake him for a feminine/gnc boy rather than a girl. It took him a while to come to terms with his aromanticism, since pretty much everyone expected him to be gay- he kinda expected it himself too, since he never liked girls that way, so?? But when he found out about the term "aromantic" it was like a weight lift off his shoulders. - Shoji is netrois and androsexual!! He knew he liked boys early but he's avoided dealing with figuring out his gender out of fear that he'd be disappointed- he's only ever seen nonbinary/genderqueer people depicted as androgynous and much smaller in stature than himself, so he thought he'd never fit. Seeing everyone else come out (especially the other nonbinary classmates of his), he stopped hesitating and starting working on coming to terms with himself!! - Satou is asexual and panromantic!! I don't really have much reasoning for this, I never really thought about it (or Satou himself) but when the time came to draw this I was like "Satou likes baking.....and puns are ace culture......FOOD PUNS!!! OF COURSE!!!" I'm sorry glkjhklhfdlkhj; - Koda is a trans boy!! He's had trouble recognizing it at the start because he's always been soft-spoken (almost nonverbal) and timid and kind, and """"those aren't traits of a boy""""" but he was so happy when he hit puberty and started growing So Much in stature due to his genes and people started "mistaking" him for a boy!! He came out to his parents almost immediately bc compassion and kindness seems to run in the family and he knew he'd be accepted even if they didn't completely understand!! He was more scared to come out to his classmates but when two, three, four of them come out and are accepted for being trans boys, he knows he'll be safe with them too. - And finally, last but not least, Aizawa is gay and trans!! He might act somewhat aloof about this stuff, but secretly he's very happy that his kids students all have eachother's support, and most of them their families'. Part of him is a little bitter and wishes he had the same kind of support system in their age, but he's going to be there for them if they need him nonetheless. He has his own support system now, and that matters a lot, too.
But wait!! There's M O R E !!!!! - I always love love LOVE how fanartists/editors give some of the characters more animal-like features, so I did that too!!! I went Full-on-Frog with Tsuyu (and I'm rather proud of how she came out (lol) ), but also I gave Mina some Sharp Chompers and a Fluffy lil' tail bc It's What She Deserves, and Ojiro a lil' toof poking out and ears that sharpen a lil bit at the tips? I hc that as he grows, other than his tail he'll start growing more animal features like that- sharper teeth, longer ears, claws and also, get ready.....pawbeans........the last ones give him Heck when they start growing out, and he needs his palms massaged at least once a day while they do :'( His legs get weird too and they end up looking more like a wolf's back legs :0c - I gave a lot of them freckles!!!! bc I Love Freckles!!!!!! also, as my sister very eloquently pointed out, I gave Uraraka "A R M S,,,,," bc. let's be honest. the girl got martial training she's not a twig - Sero is holding the polyamorous flag behind himself, Kaminari and Mina bc.. u guessed it,, they're all dating each other,,,,, lotsa smooches and cuddling and shenanigans bc there's only maybe one(1) braincell between the three of them and most of the time sero has it - Todoroki, Midoriya, Iida, Kirishima, Bakugou, Tsuyu, Yaomomo, Koda and Aizawa are also autistic. Yes all of them. No I won't explain. (unless you ask in good faith and want to share your own hcs pls ask me then I'll explain everything and you can expect it to be as long as this description!!!!!) (I might draw something about it when it's April again maybe *thinking emoji* ) - Oh!!! and Tooru, Kaminari and Mina are ADHD. Kirishima is also dyslexic. - Bakugou has been losing his hearing ever since he entered U.A.- sure he's always used his quirk but never freely to that extend and with so much power behind it, so getting into fight after fight with such close proximity to explosions that big really did a number on his ears. He can hear a little better with the right one than the left, so Kirishima has gotten used to walking by his right side before his custom hearing aids came in, and then just stuck to that. Bakugou's custom hearing aids block out any noise above a certain volume bc let's assume technology has advanced to do that. When he and Kirishima started thinking about working together as heroes even after they graduate, Bakugou requested custom ear protectors with similar block-out features as his hearing aids for Kirishima so his ears aren't damaged by working so close to Bakugou (Kirishima cried). - I'm actually quite flexible on which of the two I hc as trans, or if I hc both of them to be. The "both gay + demi Bkg" is pretty set in my interpretation of them, but I find it interesting how their friendship/relationship could manifest and grow somewhat differently depending on if both of them are trans or if only one of them (and depending on which one of them it is). They're still the same loud rowdy boyes we know and love but there's different conversations to have and difficulties to tackle between them based on that factor alone, and frankly? I Adore It.
Okay that's all!!!! I think. Thanks for reading, if you did!! And if not, I completely understand lol
I hope you had a great pride month!!

“7 Seeds”, PTSD and the Elite Team, Analysis and Review.
Tumblr media
"7 Seeds” was originally a manga written and illustrated by Yumi Tamura, and published by Shogakukan. The demographic falls into shojo as well as josei, meaning that it’s a series directed at young girls and women. The story and plot are quite interesting, and I’m saddened to know that there is not a legal English translation of the manga. The anime itself, which is what I will be covering, is really bad, and it’s quite unfortunate that it’s the only legal form of “7 Seeds” that Westerners can experience.
SPOILERS AHEAD, for both seasons.
The first season is absolutely apalling, and the story only comes around by the end of the second season. I don’t want to talk about the series as a whole, as I’ve already attempted a synopsis of the show but gave up simply because the story is quite extensive, the cast is huge, and it was just turning into a rambling mess. Instead, I’d like to detail the representation of PTSD in the series, specifically occuring in the elite Summer Team A, and even more specifically in the character Ango.
The series introduces Summer Team A, and we don’t know too much about them, besides how efficient they are at surviving. What the viewers do get to see are the refferences from members on the team to their “final test”, and how some of the incidents and injuries that they see end up reminding them of it. Further on, we find out that Hana, who is one of the main characters that we follow from the Spring Team, is the daughter of the man who helped to organized and train the elite team. When Ango realizes this, he breaks down. He was an asshole in the first place, but as he puts his hands to his head and screams, we dive into a backflash. The story is so badly put together, the scenes are garbage, the cuts are bad, and the animation is even worse. But the story? I really liked it. It is absolutely horrifying, and the kind of trauma that these 7 kids come out of it with, is completely understandable.      Basically, there are a number of kids who are picked and raised in a facility. The backflash begins with a teacher telling them that they’re all special, and that they have the opportunity of heading into the future, of “boarding Noah’s Arc”. These are children, and we’re kind of shown in brief clips of the kids working together, building things, whatever, and it seems relatively normal. What they all knew was that only 7 kids would be able to succeed, so they each felt a need to work hard. But what they didn’t know was what happened to the kids who had failed and were sent away. The backflash shows a brief story of three girls who are close friends, who made some different coloured friendship bracelets, but one of these girls is sent away. She promises that she’ll send letters to them from the “outside world”, but they never recieve anything. At one point, Ango attacks a teacher who is harassing one of the girls, Kotori, and is sent to “solitary punishment” in what they called The Red Room. Dear god. Ango explains what this room is, and it turns out to be a part of a device that shreds livestock to create fertilizer. The room is filled with literal blood and guts, ect., and the punishment is to stand in the sludge for hours or days, we don’t really know how long he’s gone. But what happens is seriously awful. He looks into the blood and a literal hand starts floating, and he recognizes the bracelet that is still connected. It was their friend who had been sent away. The blood that he’s standing in, for however long, is the remains of all of their friends. Fucking sick. The poor fucking guy, traumatized to hell, as anybody would be, he doesn’t tell anyone. He keeps this knowledge inside until the “final test”, when everyone has turned 17. And this test is just about as horrendous. The professors and teachers literally sabotage the tools and training supplies. Hana’s father, Professor Takahashi, reveals to Ango that the theme of the test is “attentiveness”. Kids are injured and killed by these situations that are intentionally set up to pick these kids off, and every event becomes more and more extreme. Food supplies are poisoned, to the extent that they choose to grow their own food, some kids are even found dead due to carbon monoxide poisoning, their school facility is burnt down completely, we see floods and even buildings and mountainsides collapsing on these kids. They’re dying left and right. These kids grew up with eachother, and it seriously affected them as they watched as their friends died, finding out later that this outcome was orchestrated by the teachers that they trusted.
Tumblr media
Ango, specifically, struggles with a close friend, Shigeru, who realizes that Ango never saw him as an equal, only someone to protect. This is during the “final test”, so Ango is kind of faced with the idea that this is the last chance for him to be one of the 7, and he might have to choose between himself and Shigeru. In the end, after some really bad animation and horrible editing, Shigeru takes it upon himself to cut his rope in the final trial, falling to his death.      By the end of this, when the 7 kids are the only ones left, we get this sad scene where each person is crying, asking why they were chosen? Why was it them and not any other of their close friends that they watched die? This was probably one of my favourite scenes from the series. It was just so real, and made us see the elite team quite differently. They wanted to be one of the top 7, but they were never privvy to the truth of how they would get there, and this moment was when they were really realizing what they were being put through.     In the current timeline of the series, all we’ve seen are a group of assholes who have literally murdered a “civilian” from the Fall Team (he was infected with an airborne virus..?), and then they tested some food and medicine on an injured person later on. They’re a group of kids who have basically never learned empathy. They were raised in a trianing facility, taught to work together until the “final test” when it was literally each individual against every other person. This is the kind of dynamic that we see Ango go through. It’s revealed that one of the elite team’s “duties” is to teach the civilians ways to survive, as well as protect them, but Ango is trapped by the idea that “they” were chosen and that “they” each fought to be here, while the civilians were simply “lucky”. They were chosen for absolutely no reason, they have remotely no useful skills, and Hana is the worst offender in his mind, as she was sent here simply becuase of who her father was. To me, this mindest makes perfect fucking sense. It’s “cause and effect”. Summer A Team have been mentally and physically tortured, and for their entire lives it was a “competition” to even be able to survive in this future. None of the training that we saw ever promoted these people to want to “help” anyone, and until the second season, we really only see the elite members struggle with the idea that they have to work with “unchosen” civillians.
By the second season, Ango goes off the rails, he attempts to rape Hana, but an elite team member stops him, and nobody finds out of course. The group then proceeds to look for fresh water in a cave. Hana’s rope is cut by Ryo, because he sees her existence as a detriment to Ango’s fucking mental health, so she falls but survives but ends up in an underground river. Ango goes off by himself, is lost, and kind of gets confused about his whereabouts. Later, in the second season, we see this as well, where his mind goes back to the trauma. He thinks that he’s in the cave where Shigeru died, still in the “final test”. When he sees Hana he comes back, but he chooses not to help her. The other teammates catch up, specifially Kotori, Aramaki, and Haru, who all want to save her, but Hana can’t hold on long enough and disappears into a goddamn hole. She is actually gone after this, for most of the second season even, which is unfortunate because I kind of liked her.
Anyway, the remaining elite team figure that building a camp and staying close to the fresh water they’ve just found is the best idea. It’s also an important point that a character on the Fall Team is actually pregnant, meaning that she would need somewhere safe to have her baby, and most of the elites decide that it would be a prefferable opportunity to remain at the side of the civilians. And because of Hana’s departure and witnesses who saw Ango refusing to help her, some of the civilians felt that Ango was a danger. The Summer A Team member who stopped Ango’s assult on Hana tells everyone of what he did, therefore adding another charge against him. In the end, it’s only Ryo who is on his side, and everyone decides that banishment is the best punishment.
Tumblr media
Then begins the second season, which I much preffered. We get to follow the Summer B Team, who are residing on some sort of luxury boat (including a sauna? damn). Ryo and Ango actually join the team, not really revealing much about themselves or where they came from, so they’re quite mysterious, but Summer B is a group of pretty eccentric characters. This is the season that builds on Ango’s character, and I think that’s why I liked it so much. The beginning of this season is really nuts, because Ryo and Ango both have to figure out that these people are not actually useless, and that their skills fall into other categories than the survivalist way of being that they were trained in. We see Ryo setting up traps for the team, in the same way that the teachers had done to them during the “final test”. Members are set up to fail, and it’s almost by pure luck that most of these idiots survive. We also see how Ango deals with this, as he’s forced to either accept the outcome that this team of idiots will easily die because they lack any “attentiveness” whatsoever, or he can step in and help them. Ryo at one point closes the windows while the team are warming up with a fire in the cabin, and they start to pass out due to monoxide poisoning. This is reminiscent of the previous traps that actually killed kids, so it’s as if Ryo wants to test this less efficient team. I felt like this was really dumb, because these people are not trained, therefore, what is the point of setting them up? They’re simply going to fail. It might have been a test for Ango specifically, just to see what sort state of mind he’s curently in. He does end up saving the team from the monoxide poisoning, noticing it the earliest. He actually gets attached to this team, really wanting to protect the main female character, Natsu, as she reminds him of Shigeru.
Later on in this season, the team adventures into some strange ship that was designed as a sort of “vault” for humanity to attempt survival. The boat is affected by a sort of iron-oxidizing bacteria that has evolved, becoming dangerous and maneating. At first the team gets locked inside, and they all have to work together in order to stop the ship from self-destructing and firing an atom bomb into Japan? I don’t even know. The story was built up and it was relatively interesting, but the growth of the characters was even better. Ango gets lost, separated from Ryo and wanders the ship, finding a level that is extremely affected by the bacteria. Because the area looks a lot like cave walls, his trauma starts to affect him again. He thinks that he’s back in the cave with Shigeru, and he’s searching for him. Ango still has his gun, and ends up firing at Arashi, thinking that he’s actually Professor Takashi, testing him again. The two end up sticking together, attempting to find the others. They do end up finding Natsu, who is in the process of climbing precariously across crane structure. Ango and Arashi are trapped below, and call out to her for help. Natsu herself has really changed since finding herself on this ship. Rather than depending on others to make decisions, she was lost on her own and was forced to trust in herself. Arashi sees how hard she’s pushing herself, but Ango can only view her as a replacement for Shigeru, telling her that she can’t do it and she should just turn back. Natsu is able to get the crane down to them and brings it back up, and the three continue on their way. This is kind of the turning point, as Arashi and Natsu find out about who Ango actually is. He realizes that Natsu isn’t Shigeru, and explains why he has been treating her that way, because he looked down on Shigeru the whole time. Arashi asks him why he never ran away from the facility, and it’s here that Ango realizes that that was an option to them. He kind of breaks down, but Arashi then explains that he and the others were brainwashed. That if it were truly that awful, as Ango has described and as the viewers have been shown, then it was never his choice to stay either, and the guilt that weighs on his shoulders, isn’t truly his to carry. Arashi also brings up that nobody on any of these 7 Seeds teams wanted to be here, and that they are all victims of this governement program. Nobody was able to thoughtfully and honestly make the choice to be put to sleep and sent to the future, and the only thing that they can do now is to survive and do what they can for themselves.
That is kind of the end here. I personally liked Ango’s story and his growth, besides being an attempted rapist... He was a majorly brainwashed character, told that only the special ones will be able to rebuild society, and because of the sacrifices of his friends, he felt that it was unfair that completely average people were able to make it here. Honestly, that’s the most fucked up part. Why would random civilians be sent? We saw this question asked a few other times in the series, especially when conflict erupts in the Fall Team when a member becomes pregnant, when the deemed leaders had banned sex altogether. They figured that it would be better not to procreate, as the ones who stuck them in this situation would have wanted. And again, when the Winter Team woke up, all but three people were murdered by a lion. They had no guns, like Summer A Team do, and in the end, only Aramaki, the dude with the wolves, survives. All that these story beats do is point to how shit the 7 Seeds project was. They wanted to mix the elite survivalists with complete noobs, and had no idea what sort of emotions would erupt from this? Also, who thought that emotionally torturing the survivalist team would end up being a positive? Absolutely ridiculous.
The writing is pretty bad, though, if the manga ends up being released in English (crossing my fingers for a digital release), I may have to check it out. The shoujo romance plot of it may end up being interesting, if not blood-boiling, but I think that if the story up until now, of what the anime has adapted, had more time to build on the characters and their interactions, it may well be a good story. I don’t recommend this series, the editing and direction is horrendous, but I am kind of looking forward to the 3rd season, if it happens.

Special connection - Ben solo imagine
Tumblr media
Ben solo x Dameron!Reader
Requested by @hiddlesbaeee - “can I have an imagine/fanfic. Where reader is Poe’s sister and she has been in love with Kylo/Ben since ever, bc they knew each other since they were kids. So, they special connection and decide to see in a secret place. Maybe a little smut/romantic at the end. 🌟 please...”
A/N- Sorry I couldn’t do the smut you asked for I just can’t write those but I tried to make it as romantic as possible so I hope you like it!! :)
Warning- pure Ben solo fluff
A/N- I did a second and last part for this imagine check it out :(:
Final part here
You’ve known for a long time that you’ve been in love with Ben solo. Ever since you were you young you’ve known. You two always had a special connection between one another you don’t know why or how but you have. Always had this attraction. You two would always talk and you were one of his few friends that Ben had. Even though you two never spoke about the feelings towards one another you two already knew. Maybe it was the glances you two would share or the smiles. Or the way his glowed everytime he saw you laugh and smile with your friends. Or the way you would look at Ben like no one else did. The way you always acted and smiled around him. You two had this special connection that everyone knew about. Even your brother Poe Dameron.
Poe never wanted to admit or see it. He didn’t like Ben. He didn’t like the way he acted he didn’t like him at all. Sometimes he didn’t know why he didn’t he just didn’t. But his friends always pointed it out they knew why he didn’t like Ben. He was an overprotective brother. He always denied and said he wasn’t but everyone knew he was. That’s why he never let you talk to Ben or let you hang out with him. You would fight him on it but he never understood. Everytime he saw you looking his way or him looking at you he would get in the middle or make you do something else. But you’ve had enough of it. Of his childish over protective ways.
That’s why when Poe was flying on his X-wing you quickly went to look for Ben. It didn’t take long for you find him and by the looks of it he wasn’t expecting you. He was shirtless and training in his training room. When you saw him you couldn’t stop the blush grow on your cheeks and by the looks of it he couldn’t either. You smiled cleared your throat while tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. You quickly walked over to him and slipped a piece of paper that had the time and place to see eachother without your brother knowing. You quickly turned around and made your way out. You didn’t need him to say anything to you at the moment you knew he was going to be there.
-
You grab your cloak and put your hood just so you could be more hidden while you sneak away during the night. Surprisingly you don’t run into no one on your way to meet Ben. When you arrive to the location you already see Ben there. A bright smile appears on your face. You look around and see that he has the place well decorated. He has lights that are lit in a low light. The stars above do most of the lighting and he has a blanket layed on the ground. You take your hood off and walk closer to him.
He seems nervous but doesn’t keep his off from you. You both stay quiet not saying mostly enjoying eachothers presence. Finally getting to spend your most needed time alone and together. You outstretch your hand and he does the same. You have your palms in front one another just inches from touching one another. His face is inches from yours you could feel his warm breath on you. You stood on your tip toes and finally closed the gap between you two. His soft pink lips felt right on yours. You felt a warm feeling in your stomach. The kiss in many ways feels so right like if you had been missing something. His hand came to up to your cheek and he stroked it lightly while he pulled you closer in for the kiss. You finally interwine your hands together.
Your lips move in sync with one another like if you both had done this millions of times before. But in reality it has just been once but you knew you didn’t want this to be a one time thing. When you finally pulled apart you both were out of breath. You leaned in and rested your forehead on his. His hand was still on your cheek gently stroking it with his thumb you leaned into his touch with a small warm smile on your lips.
“About time.” You mumbled making him laugh softly. You could feel his laugh vibrate throughout his body.
“Yeah well I think your brother is to blame there.” You chuckle at his response and hit him on the shoulder playfully.
“Let’s please not talk about my brother right now.” You as you sit on the blanket and take a chip from the plate that was placed there. He sits next to you and grabs a chip himself.
“Okay Jedi boy what do you want to do?” You ask him as you look at him and place another chip in your mouth. You love the way his brown soften when he sees you.
“I’m not a Jedi yet.” He says as he lays down. His legs are opposite side of your head while his head is next to yours. “I don’t know if I want to be one.” He took a deep breath and looked up the stars while the back of his head rested on his hand.
“Why?” You ask him as you lay down yourself and your heads are side by side. He takes another deep breath and this time takes a moment to answer.
“Lets talk about something else okay?” He says softly while he moves his head to the side to face you. You want to push the question further but you don’t not want to spend your time on something he’s clearly not going to answer now. You move to lay on your side and you both gaze into eachothers eyes.
“I don’t want to spend another moment without you..... I don’t care if your brother hates me or not I just want to be with you.” He says sincerely. You bite the inside of your cheek trying to stop the tears from your eyes to fall.
“I want to be with you too Ben.” You say as you place your hand on his cheek.
“I love you.” He says and this time you couldn’t stop the tears from falling this time. “I’m in love with you I have for a long time im sorry I haven’t said it before.” Your nose sniffles and a smile grows on your face. He wipes the tears and gives you a peck on your lips. You knew he loved you but hearing it come from someone who barely said how he felt because he kept to himself a lot of the times just made you feel special.
“I’m in love with you too Ben Solo.” You say to him. You hear him sigh in relief. He moves to be above you. You place both hands on either side of his cheeks and pull him into a kiss. He deepens the kiss and in an instant you take his shirt off. He moves his lips and leaves gentle kisses on your jaw until he finally meets your lips again. He takes your shirt off and then pulls away and looks into your eyes searching for permission or if they had any sign that you didn’t want to do this. But you knew that you did and he knew it too. You both wanted to do this with eachother their was no doubt in your mind. You loved him and he loved you. It was like his mother told you so many times before you two have a special connection no one can break.

Continuing where we left off here, so we’re not cluttering Sarah’s pretty art (bless u @yunisverse ), did you know canonically Digimon are emotion eaters? “But Lea!”, you say. “That was in SAVERS, not Adventure!” Wasn’t it though?
Think about it-- while they’re not necessarily feeding off it in the sense of sustenance, the digimon in Adventure all digivolve during a big influx of some form of emotion by their chosen child, usually related to the crest but not always (pants-shitting terror at Kuwagamon, for example). Normal, natural digivolution is usually a very long process of gathering energy and strength, with higher levels often taking decades if not hundreds or thousands of years (unless you suck, in which case you’re turning into a Numemon. Yes, that’s also canon.), so obviously the digimon MUST be feeding on something for those short bursts of energy, and since having the digimon feast upon their attached digidestined’s soul or lifespan is what we call bad, the natural source must be emotion. Following that thread, we see other digidestined in 02 (which I’m not going to go into for most of the lore it introduced because it is One Whole Yike, but Adventure itself introduced the concept that all you had to do to be a valid partner candidate is see a digimon and therefore this is valid) who ostensibly have the same bond as our actual Destiny’s Children without the Destiny bit, and we actively see Willis/Wallace/That Kid With The Two Bunny Digimon have his digimon digivolve. While Lopmon/Kokomon was out of his control for the most part and could arguably have been severed from the connection, Terriermon clearly wasn’t and also usually responded to emotion. As such, we can assume that this is a trait of all partner digivolutions. Why, then, are the Crests needed? Well, we find out they’re a bit of a magic feather, however they all still involve an emotion or state of being which the child exemplifies (besides Light, though that could be as in “the light in your heart that never goes out” IE Determination and Light just happened to sound more mystic and was also literally its attribute anyway, like how Honesty/Responsibility is Water and Sincerity/Purity is Plants) (Knowledge also isn’t a state of being or emotion, but the way they use the word I’m reasonably certain what they actually mean is WISDOM, which means Izzy in a state of being wise is what triggers it, not just him being a nerd). I would like to suggest, thusly, that the Crests show the emotion or mental state the digidestined represented by it has in abundance and thus what their digimon use to rocket up the digivolution ladder in ways faster and stronger than even normal human/digimon partnerships. The Crest associated with our hypothetical ninth duo? Kindness. Now, stay with me here. Allow my work-weary, sleep-deprived ass to switch from essay to narrative for a moment. Consider, if you will; Wizardmon has always been alone. Since he’s a chosen partner, Gennai dropped him when he was hit much like Gatomon, but velocity and angle meant he still hatched far away from her. He turned to magic for answers as to why he was left all alone when most are born and cared for in Primary Village, and he got good of it-- amazingly good, astoundingly good, impossibly wonderously G O O D  at magic-- but he never found his answers. Eventually, he gives up, assuming he was simply not worth the effort. That perhaps, his presence was a mistake. He wanders, looking for obscure magic but no longer having any purpose to it, aching for something he doesn’t understand nor believes exist. He says he passed through unremarked, but in many places you’ll hear tell of a quiet, soft-spoken digimon who repaired something with the snap of his fingers. Sometimes a wall, sometimes reviving a well, sometimes even bringing another digimon back from a hideous illness. But he was always gone the next day. If anyone could ask him, he’d shrug it off; it wasn’t something special, he thought. It just seemed cruel to leave things as they were, and while he’s many unpleasant things, he’d like to think he’s not cruel. (He is kind, he is so kind, but he can’t fathom it without anyone else around him, and no one nor place can hold him against that unknown longing in his programming, so it passes by him without note.) Of course, between his idle wandering and his constantly giving and giving and giving of his magical energy without much time to recover, he eventually pushes himself past exhaustion and falls out of the sky on one otherwise unremarkable day.  Those of you who’ve watched Adventure, of course, should recognize this as the event that caused him to meet Gatomon, and remember how absolutely baffled he was by her kindness-- he was already spreading himself thin, but he never had it returned to him mostly because he never stayed anywhere long enough for it-- and how fast he was to pledge undying loyalty for said shred of kindness. And this is true still, for he is still almost desperately loyal to her, but there is something else. Even when she truly forgets everything for the monster (ha) Myotismon turned her into, he can still see that longing for something she doesn’t know or understand in her eyes, and something in his chest tightens a little. It’s kinship, but he doesn’t recognize it-- he doesn’t have time, given how fast he parses the legends and figures out what she must be, as when he does that he out of hand assumes he could never be associated. Even so, they lessen eachother’s loneliness, and for a while that’s enough. Wizardmon does his best to play dumb, glide beneath the safety of contempt, and manages some tiny victories against the Dark Army’s, as after all he is never on Myotismon’s side. Some in-training digimon slipping out of the dungeon here, some misinformation there. In the end, however, he is mostly trying to give Gatomon the shot at a better life he is so certain she deserves, so every so often he has to get his hands dirty. It’s okay, though, really. It doesn’t matter what becomes of him, as long as she gets out. (Even so, when he’s forced to play evil minion to the hilt he tries his best to simply confuse or trick his target so he can leave them alive and unharmed, and if he can’t he does his damndest to make it quick. To do otherwise seems cruel, and he would still like to think he isn’t that at least.) As we all know, eventually seven dumbass kids with seven dumbass digimon who happen to also be the Digidestined turn up and Myotismon sets his plan in motion. Most of his minions just terrorize the town, but as ever Wizardmon is sneaky. He keeps his head down, and blends in, drawing children in and keeping an eye on Gatomon to see where and who she is most drawn to. He is being rather underhanded, he thinks, even though getting this gaggle of human children to watch in wonder and laugh isn’t actually necessary for his guise. He refuses to do otherwise, though. It doesn’t seem right. Naturally, Gatomon narrows what child is hers down without even realizing, but his own “patrol” draws in her and there is an almost uncomfortable snap in him as for a moment that ache, that eternal lonliness, is gone and-- no no, she just caught him flatfooted. He’s distracted and wasn’t expecting a compliment, particularly not one from someone clearly much older than the younglings he’s entertaining manipulating. The Tokyo arc is the same, but extended-- more red herrings and more time to convince Gatomon to remember that she is better than Myotismon’s lapcat, as well as scenes with Wizardmon and Minnie showing them drawing closer, albeit with Wizardmon’s denial or deflection on the subject pretty much even through his almost-death. Ah, yes. You didn’t think we kept most of that scene, did you? Of course Wizardmon gives his life for Gatomon-- by this point, it’s all he has left to give. It’s all he’s ever had to give, really. But remember how his body is still present in the show after his suppossed death? Well, that’s because he’s not quite dead yet; merely passed out. Minnie pulls him away and gets him to a relatively safe part of the building before he comes to again. He is defintely in the PROCESS of dying, though, but they refuse to let the kids know. It would be kinder for the kids not to see, at least for the moment, and thus the duo both lie through their teeth. And yet, when the kids leave to talk about what lies ahead next, Minnie turns and does her best to stop the digital hole in his chest from bleeding. He’s going to be fine, she tells him. It’s another lie, he thinks, but ah. “You’re...too kind...” There’s a faint glow from her pocket and for a moment his world is white and then he’s much more alive and terribly small. I’m gonna glaze over the rest of the Tokyo arc because we really need to get to the point in this fucking novel but I really need you to imagine a distressed Mokumon trying to wriggle out of Minnie’s arms as she tries to get him to fucking REST and then later him as a Candlemon accidentally setting the blankets he was tucked into on fire. Got that in your head? Good! Now let’s just--
Tumblr media
There we go, see you in 02 asshole, moving on to the Dark Masters Ahem, anyway, as the group journeys through the reconfigured Digital World to forcibly scrub the influence of the Dark Masters away, Wizardmon slowly becomes a bit less aloof and a bit more on the awkward side. He’s gotten what he wanted-- Gatomon’s happy-- and he has a purpose, but that purpose doesn’t seem like something he should have, nor this group somewhere he should be. Nevermind he doesn’t really know how to handle a group out of his aloofness or various deceptions. And yet, ever so slowly, he begins to warm, and soften. Until that day in the desert. Minnie catches a lone and frightened younger digimon in the corner of her eye and diverts immediately to help it. The children and their partners are on board, of course, but before anyone can move, a Scorpiomon pops up and starts heading right for the young lady. The children shout, but Wizardmon can’t make out the words-- he’s already moving as fast as he can, even as he watches Minnie quickly turn to the younger digimon she found and hide them under a crevice, smiling before she moves away where it can’t see whatever happens. Even as she turns, pale and trying not to look frightened and moving AWAY from the kids a little so as to keep the arachnoid’s attention. Even as one of its legs connects with her cheek and knocks her away. That gentleness she was showing and his outrage and need to protect merges and twists and surges in a fountain of warmth in his chest, and he skids to a stop in front of her. Digivolving feels more like a soft blanket of darkness than anything resembling a change-- he barely even notices his limbs stretching or his clothing shift until it’s over and he’s...he’s... Myotismon. Minnie has the Crest of Kindness and he has turned into what is, objectively, the cruelest digimon to ever exist. Being Adventure the priority is Jokes, thus the immediate asking to tag out, but after this he is even more aloof than he was before, and not looking anyone in the eye. He is crushed, and once again come to the answer he always has for why he is why he is-- if he was ever meant to be here, then something must be wrong with him, and more likely he was never meant to be here at all. How interesting, do you think, it would be that it is not the Digidestined who has the huge, dramatic issue to confront, but the digimon? TL;DR, Don’t Blame You, essentially the jumping point for this whole narrative is, in a subversion to the usual “kid has to accept thing about self to slowly begin to heal from trauma and unlock potential”, essentially WIZARDMON is the one who has to learn here; the two-fold moral that he is allowed to ACCEPT Kindness and not just constantly give, and that the fact he is dark and spooky-- the fact his ultimate is the same as the mon who hurt him and the others-- does not make him less good or kind. And it only took about five novels to get here, amazing. If only I had this much energy for my actual writing.

Got around to making some new Three Mages characters to spruce up the verse a bit~ ;p More info about them can be found below:
-Noira is Princess Zia's best friend and confidante from St. Ravilda's, the calm and collected second-in-command behind Zia's sneaky lil' schemes. Another fellow genius who found a kinship in Zia after they've been isolated from everybody else for being too smart, and thus the two became quick friends in both bothering their classmates and Zia's cousins (Elas and Kain). Usually prefers to keep to herself and only really speaks up if others are speaking to her (otherwise she'd just let Zia do the talking), but rub her the wrong way and she'll gladly tell you off in her own blunt, snarky tone of voice. She's currently an Water mage-in-training, but can't really summon much aside from puddles and bubbles (to her embarrassment). -Raider is Noira's older brother and a graduate of St. Ravilda's. In his early school years Raider was kind of an awkward, "jittery" kid who most tend to find too "weird" and annoying to be around for too long. Outside of his little sister, he didn't get much attention from the rest of his family so it only left him more attention-starved as time went on. Finally though, he was able to get a break when one of the more "popular" girls in his class was able to take pity on him enough to help him get a new look and style... allowing for him to gain more popularity and respect by the time he graduated. Now Raider likes to channel his wild energy through performing daredevil-like stunts in-between his Mage quests, earning him a decent amount of followers who just can't resist his spunky charm. One of his true goals right now though, is to reconnect with the same popular girl who was able to change his life so much for the better... as sadly the two of them went their separate ways by the time they graduated awhile ago. His Mage abilities specialize in Electricity/Lightning-based magic, which not only give him some special shock attacks but could also increase his speed like a bullet when in combat. -Jada is a graduate of St. Ravilda's and an old friend to the main Three Mages girls. As the sole heir to her family's old Mage shop business "Riverglade Ponderies", Jada has made it her new duty to put aside the traveling Mage life to help keep her family business running. A classy and laidback girl who's always been drawn to the finer, "glamorous" things in life... but at the same time can still always be loyal and patient enough to be relied on for either new Mage equipment or advice for missions. While she's pretty friendly with all three of the main Mages, with Prym she's got more of a history with since the two had a period of crushing on eachother when back in school... but eventually they just couldn't click enough to fully date for too long. It's unclear if there's any kind of lingering feelings left between them, but either way the two girls made it a point to not let it get in the way of their friendship. Though she's not that active in the Mage scene, with Jada specialized magic dealing with air and clouds it gives her a decent advantage in terms of evading/throwing off potential foes. -Ana is a graduate of St. Ravilda's and an infamous "Little Miss Perfect" by the Three Mages. A sickeningly sweet and graceful perfectionist who seemed to always be one step ahead of everyone else, with even the teachers propping her up as an "excellent" example of what a "true" Healer mage should strive to be like. Obviously leading to some bad conflicts with Aevri as Ana seemed to always push it in her face how "flawed" she was as a Healer mage... which overtime felt less like well-meaning criticism and more like condescending mocking. Yet it never seemed to get into Ada's head that she herself is anything less than "perfect"... and that anything that deviated away from old traditions (aka, Aevri and her friends) were simply not worth anyone's time. Because of her natural talent in healing, Ana was gifted an extra mana stone by her parents to assist her in her traveling Mage duties, which she currently dons as a set of earrings (to the envy of some other beginning mages). -Finn is a graduate of St. Ravilda's and was actually Elas' old school buddy. In contrast to his uptight friend, Finn was always alot more relaxed and sweet-natured to be around... finding more of a fascination studying how the magical world worked instead of fussing too much about stuff like combat. He still tried his best to make due as he joined Elas in a traveling mage group after they graduated, though after awhile things got cut short there due to some undisclosed drama in the group. So by now Finn and Elas went their separate ways as Elas has gone on to go train as a future king of Graystone, while Finn is currently studying in his hometown's medicinal college in hopes of using his nature studies to better help his community. His magic, though used more subtly compared to some other mages, specializes in magically connecting to the earth through the ground and plants.

THE LEAD UP TO HARRY/GINNY
So, I see a lot of people saying Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley was ‘forced’ felt ‘rushed’ etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hinny was lead up to for 5 books, son! :) In no way is that rushed.
Harry and Gin’s love story is basically one of bad timing, where themes, foreshadowing, language and characterization have been used to slowly establish Ginny as special in Harry’s life, and forge the foundation on which their relationship is built in book 6.
I have receipts. :D
LONG ‘ESSAY’ ABOUT H/G BUILDUP IN BOOKS 1-5:
Book 1 - first girl he meets
Tumblr media
she’s the first weasley kid/first nice kid he even hears speak actually
And there’s this brief description of him watching her I find very poetic:
The train began to move. Harry saw the boys’ mother waving  and their sister, half laughing, half crying, running to keep up with the train until it gathered too much speed; then she fell back and waved. Harry watched the girl and her mother disappear as the train rounded the corner.
Book 2- giant book of foreshadowing
Tumblr media
So, this book ties Ginny and Harry thematically, establishes certain patterns with them, ties Gin to the main themes of the books very inextricably, ties her to Harry in a way no other character is tied, and also establishes her as a future love interest for Harry.
In NO way am I saying Harry had romantic notions about her at this point in the series (heck no! He’s just 12!)- but rather from a writing perspective, things were put in place to establish future H/G goodness.
From the get go, she is described, again, in somewhat cute/‘poetic’ language
At that moment there was a diversion in the form of a small, red-headed figure in a long nightdress, who appeared in the kitchen, gave a small squeal, and ran out again.
--
Harry just caught sight of a pair of bright brown eyes staring at him before it closed with a snap.
--
Ginny seemed very prone to knocking things over whenever Harry entered a room. She dived under the table to retrieve the bowl and emerged with her face glowing like the setting sun.
--
“Oh, are you starting at Hogwarts this year?” Harry asked Ginny. She nodded, blushing to the roots of her flaming hair, and put her elbow in the butter dish. Fortunately no one saw this except Harry’
So she’s this adorable little winsome gal who Harry (established as pretty effing rude about most girls/women he describe), is giving language I’d love to have written about me even now, as a full-grown married woman.
So, of course we start off book 2 with Ginny being a shy little sister, who has a crush on her brother best friend/is enamored with the boy hero. Even though she could have been written as burdensome or annoying to Harry- he never once feels that way about her (even when tackled by that cupid dwarf with her singing valentine.)
To the contrary, he’s always quite sweet with her, giving her his books, notices when she’s out of sorts, pulls out his wand to expelliarmus Draco when he’s taunting Ginny by holding her diary (which mirrors Ron’s going after Draco when Draco was calling Hermione mudblood),  and then he freaking saves her.
Also, let’s point out a silly things: Draco calls Gin Harry’s girlfriend in book 2. ;)  How’s THAT for romantic foreshadowing? :)
“Leave him alone, he didn’t want all that!” said Ginny. It was the first time she had spoken in front of Harry. She was glaring at Malfoy.“Potter, you’ve got yourself a girlfriend!” drawled Malfoy.
The language when he saves her, again, has emotional resonance than he had for almost anyone else in the series for the first few books- THIS IS NOT ROMANTIC- just establishes a theme of how Harry considers her and has a soft spot for her (seriously, read this, then go back and read his underwhelming reaction to Ron possibly being severely injured in PS/SS with the chess match… like… for reals):
He couldn’t not go, not now they had found the entrance to the Chamber, not if there was even the faintest, slimmest, wildest chance that Ginny might be alive.
And between the feet [of the statue’s robes], facedown, lay a small, black-robed figure with flaming-red hair.
“Ginny!” Harry muttered, sprinting to her and dropping to his knees. “Ginny — don’t be dead — please don’t be dead —” He flung his wand aside, grabbed Ginny’s shoulders, and turned her over. Her face was white as marble, and as cold, yet her eyes were closed, so she wasn’t Petrified. But then she must be —
“Ginny, please wake up,” Harry muttered desperately, shaking her. Ginny’s head lolled hopelessly from side to side.’
Tumblr media
Also, in this book, though it’s quick little bits here and there, they establish also how Harry and Gin instinctively ‘get’ one another, despite their lack of interaction- like when she defends Harry to Draco with ‘he didn’t want all that’- or when he keep Ron from prying after he saves Gin
“I’ll explain when we get out of here,” said Harry with a sideways glance at Ginny, who was crying harder than ever.
“But —”
“Later,” Harry said shortly. He didn’t think it was a good idea to tell Ron yet who’d been opening the Chamber, not in front of Ginny,
This is how their dynamic works later in the series- they just get each other’s motivations/needs. Even this early on, hints of their dynamic is established - as hey, some people just get one another- even when they are platonic childhood friends.
So on top of all the above, she’s connected to him in that she knows horcruxes and Tom Riddle basically better than anyone, really. (I was sort of bummed they didn’t use this more later, though DAMN is she doesn’t sass Harry out of yelling in book 5 over it :D). She introduces one of the most important things in the series- needing to know Voldemort, Voldemort’s soul imprints, and how to defeat horcuxes.
Only four characters have ever had the mental influence of a horcrux, that we know of- Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione. Of them all, only Harry and Ginny ever really got perspective on Riddle/Voldemort- vs Ron and Herm were influenced, not sharing back and forth. This makes Ginny stand out thematically from any other character in the series- that she shares this connection with Harry.
Harry saves her in probably the most traditionally romantic/fantasy driven/fairy tale way- literally the hero saves a damsel in distress from a giant reptile with a sword- but Rowling subverts this by having them literally have no romance build from there for another 4 books- because they are kids.
So yeah- she’s established early on, writing-wise, as a future flame for him, and tied them very closely.
Book 3 - briefest of shared moments
Tumblr media
Ginny is barely present in this book, but despite her crush making her rather mute in front of him- they have a share moment of humor (which seems to be a big connection for the two of them- the two always catching each other’s eye and smirking at eachother later in the series.)
“Ah, there’s Penelope!” said Percy, smoothing his hair and going pink again. Ginny caught Harry’s eye, and they both turned away to hide their laughter as Percy strode over to a girl with long, curly hair, walking with his chest thrown out so that she couldn’t miss his shiny badge.
Both are deeply affected by dementors (along with Nev, though his is just mentioned as being pale along with Gin) on the train.
Ginny, who was huddled in her corner looking nearly as bad as Harry felt, gave a small sob; Hermione went over and put a comforting arm around her. “But didn’t any of you — fall off your seats?” said Harry awkwardly. “No,” said Ron, looking anxiously at Harry again. “Ginny was shaking like mad, though…”
And she gives him another card when he’s in the hospital (which he keeps, even though he hard to literally keep it under a fruit bowl so it won’t sing anymore- he’s dispassionately thrown out Hagrid’s rock cakes and Ron and Hermione’s gifts he actually enjoyed before- so here he is, still having a tender (but platonic) spot for Ginny.)
Book 4- character establishment and missed opportunities
Tumblr media
So, again, Ginny isn’t around much in this book. She still blushes around him a little, but is able to smile and talk with him much more easily, especially about the twins’ joke shop endeavors, and definitely has a lot more of her sass come out (fleetingly saw a couple of times of it in book 3).
She’s still not included in any of the trio’s antics (not even being told about Sirius’s innocence)- and they mainly establish that she has a great sense of humor like her brothers, laughing a lot at things Harry and Ron do (while Hermione can’t bring herself to laugh, b/c it’s hermione), and being compassionate as per usual to people and animals alike (as in book 3).
Anyways, the main thing that stands out in this book- is the missed opportunity for all the main characters to go out with their future romantic partner/s.
Ron and Hermione don’t go to the ball.
Harry and Ginny don’t go to the ball.
Harry and Cho don’t go to the ball.
It’s a big missed moment for them all, really. :P
So yeah- we all are very aware of all that yule ball, who is going out with who drama-
Anyways, another moment I like is Weasleys are always his escape - and she’s a part of that. :
Fred, George, and Ginny came to sit next to [Ron and Harry] too, and Harry was having such a good time he felt almost as though he were back at the Burrow; he had forgotten to worry about that evening’s task, and not until Hermione turned up, halfway through lunch, did he remember that she had had a brainwave about Rita Skeeter.
Book 5 - Establishing the foundation through interactions, themes and language.
Tumblr media
So, this is where we get to see full-out Ginny. No longer is it just hints at her sass, pieces of her compassion, tiny shared moments between her and Harry- oooh no. This book is where we finally have Ginny’s full glory out and about, and it’s awesome. She is ballsy, she is cool, and lord help me, I love her so much. JKR establishes a very very firm foundation for a romantic relationship between them to blossom in this book.
From the get go, Ginny is on point.
So a quick exploration of how awesome Ginny is:
The door opened and a long mane of red hair appeared. “Oh hello, Harry!” said Ron’s younger sister, Ginny, brightly. “I thought I heard your voice.”
This is after he was screaming, and had just been teased by the twins for it. Again that poetic language is used for her, and she’s now part of his gang- and intimate along with Ron and Hermione (or as close as anyone can get) with his plans and life.
Like, I could go on forever about how cool Gin in this book, but I’ve literally written pages at this point. Suffice it to say- she kicks arse - like, she’s hangin with the twin and being cool in Grimmauld place, she’s kicking butt at quidditch, she’s flying into Smith when he’s an arse, she’s known for her bat bogey hex.
“Yeah, size is no guarantee of power,” said George. “Look at Ginny.” “What d’you mean?” said Harry. “You’ve never been on the receiving end of one of her Bat-Bogey Hexes, have you?”
And she’s compassionate too, as she’s kind to Luna and Neville a whole bunch in this book
“I’m nobody,” said Neville hurriedly. “No you’re not,” said Ginny sharply. “Neville Longbottom — Luna Lovegood.”
She and Harry share grins and laughs throughout the book
Well, hello there!” [Lockhart] said. “I expect you’d like my autograph, would you?” “Hasn’t changed much, has he?” Harry muttered to Ginny, who grinned.
So yeah, Ginny is amazing, so it’s not really a surprise that the next book, when Harry is no longer crushing on Cho, he takes notice.
The main points of connection between Harry and Gin are that: a few times in this book he relies on her to help him emotionally, or she just steps up to do it- at times she does it better than any other pier of his, including Ron and Hermione.
The first moment where she really helps Harry out is on the Hogwarts Express:
The train was gathering still more speed, so that the houses outside the window flashed past and they swayed where they stood. “Shall we go and find a compartment, then?” Harry asked Ron and Hermione. Ron and Hermione exchanged looks.
“Er,” said Ron.
“We’re — well — Ron and I are supposed to go into the prefect carriage,” Hermione said awkwardly. Ron wasn’t looking at Harry; he seemed to have become intensely interested in the fingernails on his left hand.
“Oh,” said Harry. “Right. Fine.”
“I don’t think we’ll have to stay there all journey,” said Hermione quickly. “Our letters said we just get instructions from the Head Boy and Girl and then patrol the corridors from time to time.”
“Fine,” said Harry again. “Well, I-I might see you later, then.”
“Yeah, definitely,” said Ron, casting a shifty, anxious look at Harry. “It’s a pain having to go down there, I’d rather — but we have to — I mean, I’m not enjoying it, I’m not Percy,” he finished defiantly.
“I know you’re not,” said Harry and he grinned. But as Hermione and Ron dragged their trunks, Crookshanks, and a caged Pigwidgeon off toward the engine end of the train, Harry felt an odd sense of loss. He had never traveled on the Hogwarts Express without Ron.
“Come on,” Ginny told him, “if we get a move on we’ll be able to save them places.”
So back to school they go, and poor Harry is all alone and a bit lost as to what to do with himself when Ron and Hermione leave him for prefect stuff. Ginny immediately takes charge and is super sweet, finding him a compartment, hanging with him and Neville and Luna. I’d like to point out, she didn’t HAVE to help him out at all. She has her own friends in her year (who hail her over the second they’re in the great hall) and a boyfriend- she’s just being awesome.
She then comforts him about Cho for a sec (as she gets the whole trying to look cool
Harry slumped back in his seat and groaned. He would have liked Cho to discover him sitting with a group of very cool people laughing their heads off at a joke he had just told; he would not have chosen to be sitting with Neville and Loony Lovegood, clutching a toad and dripping in Stinksap.
“Never mind,” said Ginny bracingly. “Look, we can get rid of all this easily.” She pulled out her wand. “Scourgify!” The Stinksap vanished.
Ginny, unlike the other young ladies in Harry’s life, has the ability to bring calm to the storm at times with pointed humor. Like the first DA meeting, when Luna and Hermione break into a fight that derails the whole thing:
“Yes, he’s got an army of heliopaths,” said Luna solemnly.
“No, he hasn’t,” snapped Hermione.
“Yes, he has,” said Luna.
“What are heliopaths?” asked Neville, looking blank.
“They’re spirits of fire,” said Luna, her protuberant eyes widening so that she looked madder than ever. “Great tall flaming creatures that gallop across the ground burning everything in front of —”
“They don’t exist, Neville,” said Hermione tartly. “Oh yes they do!” said Luna angrily.
“I’m sorry, but where’s the proof of that?” snapped Hermione.
“There are plenty of eyewitness accounts, just because you’re so narrow-minded you need to have everything shoved under your nose before you —”
“Hem, hem,” said Ginny in such a good imitation of Professor Umbridge that several people looked around in alarm and then laughed. “Weren’t we trying to decide how often we’re going to meet and get Defense lessons?”
Ginny is able to calm him where no one else can when he’s afraid after he’s had the dream with Mr Weasley- not only de-escalating him, but also cheering him up, while standing up to him full on and able to snap him out of it and make him listen:
[Hermione] sat down next to Ginny, and the two girls and Ron looked up at Harry. “How’re you feeling?” asked Hermione.
“Fine,” said Harry stiffly. “Oh, don’t lie, Harry,” she said impatiently.
“Ron and Ginny say you’ve been hiding from everyone since you got back from St. Mungo’s.”
“They do, do they?” said Harry, glaring at Ron and Ginny. Ron looked down at his feet but Ginny seemed quite unabashed. “Well, you have!” she said. “And you won’t look at any of us!”
“It’s you lot who won’t look at me!” said Harry angrily.
“Maybe you’re taking it in turns to look and keep missing each other,” suggested Hermione, the corners of her mouth twitching. “Very funny,” snapped Harry, turning away.
“Oh, stop feeling all misunderstood,” said Hermione sharply. “Look, the others have told me what you overheard last night on the Extendable Ears —”
“Yeah?” growled Harry, his hands deep in his pockets as he watched the snow now falling thickly outside. “All been talking about me, have you? Well, I’m getting used to it… .”
“We wanted to talk to you, Harry,” said Ginny, “but as you’ve been hiding ever since we got back —”
“I didn’t want anyone to talk to me,” said Harry, who was feeling more and more nettled.
“Well, that was a bit stupid of you,” said Ginny angrily, “seeing as you don’t know anyone but me who’s been possessed by You-KnowWho, and I can tell you how it feels.” Harry remained quite still as the impact of these words hit him. Then he turned on the spot to face her.
“I forgot,” he said.
“Lucky you,” said Ginny coolly.
“I’m sorry,” Harry said, and he meant it.
“So … so do you think I’m being possessed, then?”
“Well, can you remember everything you’ve been doing?” Ginny asked. “Are there big blank periods where you don’t know what you’ve been up to?” Harry racked his brains. “No,” he said.
“Then You-Know-Who hasn’t ever possessed you,” said Ginny simply. “When he did it to me, I couldn’t remember what I’d been doing for hours at a time. I’d find myself somewhere and not know how I got there.”
Harry hardly dared believe her, yet his heart was lightening almost in spite of himself.
[Herm and Harry give input on how he was in bed the whole time and no one apparated into hogwarts]. I’m not the weapon after all, thought Harry. His heart swelled with happiness and relief, and he felt like joining in as they heard Sirius tramping past their door toward Buckbeak’s room, singing “God Rest Ye Merry, Hippogriffs” at the top of his voice.
So yeah- Ginny was able to bring him peace of mind in a way LITERALLY NO ONE ELSE COULD.
She goes on to bolster him about his quidditch ban (and is the only person to really do so, it seems) and then again shows her ability to ‘get’ him:
“Good catch,” Harry told Ginny back in the common room, where the atmosphere closely resembled that of a particularly dismal funeral.
“I was lucky,” she shrugged. “It wasn’t a very fast Snitch and Summerby’s got a cold, he sneezed and closed his eyes at exactly the wrong moment. Anyway, once you’re back on the team —”
“Ginny, I’ve got a lifelong ban.”
“You’re banned as long as Umbridge is in the school,” Ginny corrected him. “There’s a difference. Anyway, once you’re back, I think I’ll try out for Chaser. Angelina and Alicia are both leaving next year and I prefer goal-scoring to Seeking anyway.”
Harry looked over at Ron, who was hunched in a corner, staring at his knees, a bottle of butterbeer clutched in his hand. “Angelina still won’t let him resign,” Ginny said, as though reading Harry’s mind.
Then she inspires hope in him, yet again:
“It’s Easter eggs from Mum,” said Ginny. “There’s one for you… . There you go… .” She handed him a handsome chocolate egg decorated with small, iced Snitches and, according to the packaging, containing a bag of Fizzing Whizbees. Harry looked at it for a moment, then, to his horror, felt a hard lump rise in his throat.
“Are you okay, Harry?” asked Ginny quietly.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” said Harry gruffly. The lump in his throat was painful. He did not understand why an Easter egg should have made him feel like this.
“You seem really down lately,” Ginny persisted. “You know, I’m sure if you just talked to Cho …”
“It’s not Cho I want to talk to,” said Harry brusquely.
“Who is it, then?” asked Ginny.
“I …” He glanced around to make quite sure that nobody was listening; Madam Pince was several shelves away, stamping out a pile of books for a frantic-looking Hannah Abbott. “I wish I could talk to Sirius,” he muttered. “But I know I can’t.” More to give himself something to do than because he really wanted any, Harry unwrapped his Easter egg, broke off a large bit, and put it into his mouth.
“Well,” said Ginny slowly, helping herself to a bit of egg too, “if you really want to talk to Sirius, I expect we could think of a way to do it… .”
“Come on,” said Harry hopelessly. “With Umbridge policing the fires and reading all our mail?”
“The thing about growing up with Fred and George,” said Ginny thoughtfully, “is that you sort of start thinking anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.” Harry looked at her.
Perhaps it was the effect of the chocolate — Lupin had always advised eating some after encounters with dementors — or simply because he had finally spoken aloud the wish that had been burning inside him for a week, but he felt a bit more hopeful… .
So on top of ALL THAT- there are literary themes tying Ginny and Cho together. His current flame is somehow always getting cocurrently talked about or written about with Ginny flitting around in there. Ginny and Cho’s lives mirror each other, or they are inexplicably linked in scenes. We see scenes where they intersect, Ginny and Cho are in competetition (note, Ginny always wins), and their love lives seem to twist into one another’s. Coincidence?! I think not! :D
“Ginny used to fancy Harry, but she gave up on him months ago. Not that she doesn’t like you, of course,” she added kindly to Harry while she examined a long black-and-gold quill. Harry, whose head was still full of Cho’s parting wave, did not find this subject quite as interesting as Ron, who was positively quivering with indignation, but it did bring something home to him that until now he had not really registered.
“So that’s why she talks now?” he asked Hermione. “She never used to talk in front of me.”
“Exactly,” said Hermione. [hermione shops]
Ron still breathing down her neck. “Ron,” she said severely as she turned and trod on his feet, “this is exactly why Ginny hasn’t told you she’s seeing Michael, she knew you’d take it badly. So don’t harp on about it, for heaven’s sake.”
“What d’you mean, who’s taking anything badly? I’m not going to harp on about anything …”
Ron continued to chunter under his breath all the way down the street. Hermione rolled her eyes at Harry and then said in an undertone, while Ron was muttering imprecations about Michael Corner, “And talking about Michael and Ginny … what about Cho and you?”
Somewhat to Harry’s disappointment, it was Ginny who managed to find Cho Chang and her friend first
“The Defense Association?” said Cho. “The D.A. for short, so nobody knows what we’re talking about?”
“Yeah, the D.A.’s good,” said Ginny. “Only let’s make it stand for Dumbledore’s Army because that’s the Ministry’s worst fear, isn’t it?” There was a good deal of appreciative murmuring and laughter at this.
“All in favor of the D.A.?” said Hermione bossily, kneeling up on her cushion to count. “That’s a majority — motion passed!”
Harry glimpsed Ron and Ginny skimming over the stands and felt a horrible pang that he was not up there with them… . “You really miss it, don’t you?” said Cho.
“Yeah,” said Ron slowly, savoring the words, “we won. Did you see the look on Chang’s face when Ginny got the Snitch right out from under her nose?”
“I suppose she cried, did she?” said Harry bitterly.
“Well, yeah — more out of temper than anything, though …”
Harry looked around. Cho was passing, accompanied by Marietta Edgecombe, who was wearing a balaclava. His and Cho’s eyes met for a moment. Cho blushed and kept walking. Harry looked back down at the chessboard just in time to see one of his pawns chased off its square by Ron’s knight.
“What’s — er — going on with you and her anyway?” Ron asked quietly.
“Nothing,” said Harry truthfully.
“I — er — heard she’s going out with someone else now,” said Hermione tentatively. Harry was surprised to find that this information did not hurt at all. Wanting to impress Cho seemed to belong to a past that was no longer quite connected with him. [paragraph about Sirius’s death]
“You’re well out of it, mate,” said Ron forcefully. “I mean, she’s quite good-looking and all that, but you want someone a bit more cheerful.”
“She’s probably cheerful enough with someone else,” said Harry, shrugging.
“Who’s she with now anyway?” Ron asked Hermione, but it was Ginny who answered.
“Michael Corner,” she said. “Michael — but —” said Ron, craning around in his seat to stare at her. “But you were going out with him!”
“Not anymore,” said Ginny resolutely. “He didn’t like Gryffindor beating Ravenclaw at Quidditch and got really sulky, so I ditched him and he ran off to comfort Cho instead.” […]
“Well, I always thought he was a bit of an idiot,” [Ron] said, prodding his queen forward toward Harry’s quivering castle. “Good for you. Just choose someone — better — next time.” He cast Harry an oddly furtive look as he said it.
“Well, I’ve chosen Dean Thomas, would you say he’s better?” asked Ginny vaguely. “WHAT?” shouted Ron,

SO THERE YA GO- ALL THAT BUILD UP- :) was it fast and out of nowhere? no way! Reread and see it right there in the books, mates!
Like, you can not like their ship- but there is no denying the buildup.

The sunsets in Sedona & sunrises of California
My last few days in Sedona felt like heaven, but I felt myself being pulled towards the landscapes of California. It was like I was being presented with a question- Stay with the feeling of peace & sanctuary, or navigated the ups & downs of the outside world. As soon as I asked the question, I knew the right thing to do was to leave. I booked a train ticket early in the morning & told swamiji I would be leaving the day after tomorrow. Just as I did, I reached out to my Uncle Eric, who lives in Venice Beach. My cousin Mia surprised him by showing up that very day, and so, it aligned perfectly for me to surprise her. (because, of course it did).
The days of heaven at the ashram looked like peaceful adventure. I lay in the grass looking up at the bald eagle that would swoop down in the trees on the back on the property. I helped paint the temple with bright yellow (that reminded me so much of painting my dad’s stages as a kid... which were the exact same yellow colour). We crowned the temple while singing songs as a group.
We were able to spend the day going for a few different hikes through the red rocks. Rukmini and I went off the trail near the Cochina to find the cave she used to sleep in when she was younger. The cave was nestled between two huge rock formations. It had an amazing view of the whole vista- the reds of the earth, the bright blue sky and all the greens in between. The walls of the cave had pocks in in- that looked like letter slots. She told me that people used to write prayers on pieces of paper and tuck them inside the slots with an offering to the rocks. We didn’t have paper, but we left the heart shaped rocks we had found earlier with a prayer & our love. We helped some other women climb up the steep rocks gracefully & called out into the valley below. It’s funny how freeing it can feel to feel small in a large landscape. It’s as if you can viscerally look at the larger picture. We aimed too to climb doe mountain, but Swamiji’s body was not up for the steep climb, so we turned around halfway & instead walked along the winding Aerie Trail. At the end of the path, we caught the sun slowly sink down behind the distant mountains. While we sat on some large rocks there, Rukmini told me of one of the times she ran away from the world. She packed her car full of food and camping gear- left it in the desert & walked off with her belongings. She lasted a long while too- weeks if not months. Just her under the sky, amongst the desert plants. She knows a lot about the medicines of the land. I hope I have an opportunity in the future to learn more from her- I know she has so much to teach & I hope the universe provides her with eager & attentive students. She deserves that so much. Wendyana brought us bundles of Juniper berries she picked. We watched the sky turn to stars as we ate the sweet little fruits. Then packed up the car & headed back into Sedona to eat at Chocolate tree.
As I fell asleep, I was so aware of the landscape & sat vigil to it. The owls, coo’ed so loudly, they must have been in the tree right outside of the window. I was beautiful. When I woke, I tried my best to keep up with the regular ashram shcedule & helping Rukmini, but I was running around preparing to say goodbye too (not to mention packing). I Said goodbye to the bees, gathering the sleepy ones with a spoonful of sugar water.
Rukmini and I said goodbye in the kitchen over a few hours- it looked a lot like making lists. Writing down all the proper procedures for all the different household chores, to make it easier for future staff or guest orientation going forward. I handed her a postcard that I had made for her too- that was a picture of her in the sunset laying on a rock. On the back I wrote “Rukmini Rose, dances with the sky & tells me of all the desert medicines she had made friends with in this life/ and all the times she ran away/ and all the times she ran towards herself.” She ran to her room & came back with a couple of postcards for me- One with a Jackalope (from Utah, her home state) that she wrote something like “May the Jackalopes sing you sweet lullabyes! Rohini, my sister wife, world grandma ma! Take care of us babies like you always do! Thank you so much. I’m glad we are together.” The other was a lightning scene over the desert- with cacti , etc. That she left blank. We hugged a long while & said goodbye a few more times as I ran around doing final checks. Dharmajun went into Pheonix to visit his sister, so we didn’t get to say goodbye. As I got into the car, I called to Rukmini to “tell the old tree we know to say goodbye & give him my email address.”
Swamiji drove me into town. We wove through the canyon roads, looking at the flooded rivers & waterfalls pouring down from the rocks. We spoke only of wisdoms of life & then sat in silence- which felt good. He said I would probably benefit from a weekly, routine practice of Mouna. Which I know will be true. My brain has a lot of chatter trying to keep up with all the lovely people in my world- and the silence helps return me to stillness, so I can speak from peace & love without becoming overwhelmed. I contemplated the new routines I would bring into my life- Breath practices, asana practices & mindfulness- not because I feel any obligation to. Simply because I realized how much joy & balance they give me. It’s been truly beautiful to learn it all properly- in a way that sinks down deep. And furthermore, concretes the path I was already travelling on.
As we pulled into Flagstaff, I said my goodbyes to Swami. He said I was more then welcomed back at any point I wished- just as a guest, or as staff. I feel I will definitely return. Arizona is wild & vigorous, and peaceful and calm all at once. I feel a huge connection with the land & the people here. I had a few hours to myself, so I checked my big bag at the train station & walked around. Flagstaff is small, and so, most of the stores were closing as I walked. It definitely has a cool vibe about it- a surprising amount of young people & a palatable local art scene. Like Sedona, there are also plenty of stores that sell crystals & new-agey type stuff. I found a cute-college-vibe pizza place to grab something to eat- which by happy co-incidence, had my favourite slice on special. Artichoke heart, parm, fresh basil & sun-dried tomatoes. It was ideal. The people that worked there were all young, tattooed skater-types. I tried not to linger that long, but I quickly became very comfortable eating the slices of pizza & drawing funny creatures in my sketchbook. Around 8 I wandered back to the train station & made a nice butt groove there- again reading & drawing & sitting my thoughts. My train was originally scheduled for 9:30, but after several delays, finally arrived at 11pm. (That wasn’t the only train trouble--- they also over-charged me multiple times on my visa--- which I am still working on getting a refund for).
As I got on the train, there was a young girl in my seat- a senior in high school that was visiting her sister’s sorority this weekend for a formal. I let her know that she was in my seat, but she told me there was something on hers & so she couldn’t sit there. I looked around the train and there was no other seat available. So rather than fight her, I sat in the seat she refused. All out of love for her. It meant that I was sitting in train 0003, car three, seat 3 on the 3rd day of March (the third month!)--- so must have been a reallllly good sign. I think the little boy in front of us might have peed on it? I don’t know. I lay down a few magazines & a blanket and it was fine. She was feeling a little chatty, but it was the overnight train & so most people were trying to sleep. She told me I’d really like Venice Beach & asked me how old I was. I think she thought I was her age, until she realized I was an adult, despite my baby face. She told me of all her plans to go to community college, then university & then join the navy & see the world that way- but for now, she was in Ontario, California, living with her mother. Eventually, we both fell asleep... me first I think.
----------------------------------------------------
California
When I woke up, the sun began to peek in through the curtains, we were just leaving the desert of Joshua tree national park & I did get to see, albeit briefly, some of those special/weirdo trees. I plan on coming back through that park for longer when I come back through California with my sisters in the next few years (which Petra & I made plans for on the train). I tried my best to keep still & listen to the world around me. There was a nun a few rows a head of me, and in between was a famil that were yelling at eachother, shoes all over the floor. It was a funny moment of human existence. The landscape flickered by- mountain scapes, dunescapes, decorated with the most vivid colours. The hills were covered in flowers- yellow, orange & purple. The houses all with that spanish-style terracotta roofing.
The LA train station is a brilliantly beautiful art-deco style building. It occurred to me, while I walked through it, that I had once written an architecture paper on it. The ceilings are high like a church, the seats low and leathery. The tiling was all done in jewel tones of the era & done in oriental-referenced geometric patterns. Another traveller dropped their bag by the grand piano & played Debussy’s ‘Claire de Lune’ I leaned on the poll & closed my eyes to listen for a long while. I’ve always loved that song, it’s gentle & beautiful. When I was ready, I texted Gopala that I had arrived. He pulled up outside the station & I through my bags in the back of the car dancing through traffic, then runnning around the front & sticking my hand through the window to jingle the passenger-side door open. I hopped in & was flooded back with memories of the Ashram that felt like so long ago in many ways, expect time itself. The inside of Gopala’s car is basically a shrine, with pictures of Gurus & Krishna, as well as prayer flags & sticker with uplifting quotes on it. Gopala told me all about the Sivanada centre there & I think he wanted me to stay there with him, but I reminded him that I have family here, that I was eager to spend lots of time with. That night was Shivaratri- The celebration of the high god Shiva. There was meant to be dancing, and singing & puja’s all night long. He advised me to sleep while I could- but all I knew for sure at that moment was that I was happy to be in LA & keen to see Mia.
The centre, as it turns out is quite close to Eric’s place on Catamaran street. We drove around looking for food, until my uncle Eric called me back, which he did, before we actually managed to find a place to eat. I tried my best not to fling the door open and crash-run into Mia, who turned out to be in the shower. Tom, Mia’s ex-boyfriend was sitting at the kitchen table with Caroline, Eric’s finace (who are both Australian). I basically rushed into the bathroom anyways & Mia and I rushed into a conversation. She did look surprised, but probably because she didn’t expect me to rush into the bathroom like that (which isn’t actually that unusual in our family actually). We all got ready & went out for lunch- which was, surprise surprise, Mexican food. Eric showed up there to join us & asked me if Mia looked surprised. Turned out, when I was on the phone with him earlier, Mia decided to snoop on his phone & so knew I was coming-- and just wanted the practice her acting skills. Which makes me laugh even now. She really did have me convinced I had surprised her. After lunch, we walked down to the beach- which is stunning, even considering it’s very much in the city. There were surfer’s in the water in full-winter suits. Mia & Tom had tried to go surfing earlier that day-- but it was too cold they claimed. It’s probably because I am used to the frigid Atlantic (not to mention multiple polar bear swims), but I rushed into the water & waded as deep I could manage without getting my shorts wet. It was so nice to meet that Ocean- the one that for so long, felt so far away & was suddenly at my feet.
MIa & I went back to the house to change our foot wear to prepare for a local hike in Runyon Canyon- which is a pretty popular spot for nature seekers within the contex of LA. We met up with Tom at the car rental place and were silly in the lobby of the fancy hotel in Mariana Del Rey The drive through the city had me captivated. There were SO many Tesla’s on the road there, and plenty more fancy, pantsy cars. We drove through Beverly Hills, and I gawked at all the fancy houses there & wondered who in the world could possibly live there. The entrance to the trail is in Hollywood, and so we drove through those busy streets as well- Sunset, Hollywood Blvd. The climb was steep & filled with fancy people in their fancy work out gear, but also regular looking people. It was actually surprisingly challenging at times, and I was so awed by some of the older ladys that managed those near, vertical inclines. One in particular seemed like an old pro- Pointing into the sprawling skyline “look, there’s capital records, there is *such and such* hotel, there is where I first worked when I first got to the city*. Mia & Tom & I stopped a few times to take pictures, which I haven’t been super great at doing. It felt nice to indulge for a little while. Especially for the sake of Mia & I having a picture together.
We got some groceries & returned to the house, kinda exhausted. Gopala had called me while I was out & hadn’t noticed.. because my phone is so full, it hardly register’s any notifications anymore. Gopala was still extremely keen for me to go to the ceremony, but I was already falling asleep & it was like 7pm... there was no way I was going to last that long comfortably, so I called him to say I wasn’t going to go & that I hoped he understood. I fell asleep on Mia’s bed with a belly full of fresh pasta & garlic bread & avocado toast. James & I also tried to catch after severally rounds of phone tag, until I passed out cold & somehow managed to crawl over to the couch.
I woke up yoga-time (extremely early) and sat and watched the sunrise from the terrace at the back of the apartment. I waited a slightly more reasonable amount of time before going to wake Mia- cause she said she’d wanted to join me in Yoga on the beach in the morning. Tom & I were both feeling more morning-y, Mia a little less so. We walked to the beach barefooted with towels to stretch out on. We watched the early morning surfer’s as I coached them through the breathing exercises. I let up a little, because I sensed they weren’t as into it as I was, so I continued my practice as they did their morning thing. That is-- until a sudden huge wave came up and soak us all- phones, shoes, towels and all. We decided to turn back to the house with our heavy clothing.
And now here I sit, in the living room of the apartment, writing this-- trying to sort out my banking stuff & figure out a way to clear up some space on my cellphone. We’ve got dreams of going to chinatown & Hollywood, and maybe a few thrift stores while we are here. But for now, we chillin’. Gopala wants to meet up today, and I might have a few friends that happen to be in this neck of the woods too-- who knows!
