“The Uptown Theater was born in 1929 during the Great Depression, and provided audiences with a venue to forget their troubles. Vaudeville, Movies, Jazz and R&B each had a role in the Uptown’s fame. During the 1960’s the theater was the HUB of Rhythm and Blues. Anybody and Everybody played there! Over the years, the theater fell into disrepair. The current Owners of the theater, the Non Profit Tax Exempt organization, the Uptown Entertainment and Development Corporation, UEDC, has launched a campaign for a New Era in Entertainment. Young people will be able to showcase their talent through the Uptown Youth got Talent contest. The old groups will be able to display their enduring skills. An entire new generation of entertainers and audiences will experience the history, energy and vivacity of the Uptown Theater!”

“As some of you already know, it has been a dream of mine for a long time to have the opportunity to create and/or be a part of a sustainable community outside of the U.S. With the growing unrest due to the global pandemic and the devastating effects of white supremacy, it has become even more vital that folx like myself secure a safe, long-term place to live.”

“The #BlackTransPrayerBook is an interfaith, multi-dimensional, artistic and theological work that collects the stories, poems, prayers, meditation, spells, and incantations of Black TGNC contributors. Often pushed out of Faith spaces and yet still deeply connected to a historical legacy of spiritual essentiality, Black TGNC People face unprecedented amounts of spiritual, physical, and psychological violence. The Black Trans Prayer Book is a tool of healing, and affirmation centered on uplifting Black TGNC people and celebrating our place within faith.“

“We are Owl and Bryan, two QTPOC artists who are simply trying to navigate through this chaotic world. Owl & I are looking for housing because we have been suddenly displaced. We both had stable housing situations that were unexpectedly swept away from us during the covid pandemic.  All we want is to live together!”

“We are raising $100,000 so that we can stand up and fight back! We aim to expand our mutual aid work, coordinate direct actions that center and uplift Black trans lives, to increase our educational capacity to train the next generation of youth activists, and increase our support for incarcerated trans folks fighting to survive in U.S prisons, jails & detention centers.”

help an activist adopt a service dog!
Hey y'all, I set up this fundraising page to help raise funds for me to adopt a dog to owner-train as my service dog.
Every dollar is hugely appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, donate, and share so that I can have a better quality of life.

job transition support need
#Request #Urgent
Atlanta, Georgia Yesterday I accepted a job offer!!!! This will be my first job since December. All of my funds are gone and I'm supposed to start next week. As we all know, it costs money to make money. And right now I need funds for transportation, breakfast/lunch and other day to day items until my first check. I'd also like to buy some work pants since most of my pants are worn out or jeans.
I'm asking for funds for: - for public transportation (MARTA) - for lunch (and breakfast) for 3 weeks (15 days), other items that I may need for work, and also maybe pants, medication that I need to survive
Anything that you can give will be helpful.

help a parent hire tutors!
#Request Milwaukee, WI Paypal: [email protected]
Hi Everyone,
I am looking for help to be able keep my daughters French and academic tutor. This tutoring is not a luxury, it is a necessity to keep my child on track with the French program at her school. I am hoping someone will be able to sponsor us for a few months until I am back on track financially.
Last school year when I was in a better financial situation, she would work with Gretchen two days a week on learning and retaining the French language and relevant course work (they attend a French language immersion school).
It is IMMENSELY important to me that she stays on track academically. One-on-one support has significantly helped her behaviorally.
