i'm glad you asked! there will be catergories for each genre like best enemies to lovers, longest smau/series, best fem/male reader, etc. there will be polls or forms once the lists have been published (so people can figure out who or what they'll vote for, you know?)

there will many catergories so please don't feel discouraged if your favorite doesn't win! every series and writer is beautiful and this is simply for shits and giggles.

unfortunately for the voting, anonymous votes will have to be excluded (can't have the same person voting for one fic, you feel me?)

old fics and new fics are very welcomed! this is also a chance for readers to read more and writers to get recognition for their hard word (get it? 'cause their writers—)

Hi Guys

It's fangirl here 👋

I wanted to say thank you. Much like the speech I wrote for kid, I cannot put my gratitude into words.

Back in October, I was so nervous to post anything. However, I wrote a quick first chapter and uploaded it. To my despair, my first comments was a criticizing one. I almost gave up then because if I couldn't get through the first chapter without someone saying something demeaning, then I didn't want to post at all. I went to sleep that night thinking that I'd delete the chapter in the morning.

Except, I never did that. Multiple likes, follows, and positive comments rolled in, giving me the hope that readers out there actually did like my stuff.

This story was not supposed to be over 40 chapters, but then I went through everything and oh my gosh, this was going to be over 40 chapters. But I have enjoyed every moment of it.

In the end, all I can say is thank you. I hope the epilogue does Kid right and that you can see her successful future as I imagined. The epilogue is yours tomorrow at 11:30 am CT.

DTS storyline predictions

Now that the teaser for season 6 is out, here’s a few cents on what storylines DTS s6 is likely to go for.

(Health warning that I don’t think these teammate or driver dynamics are necessarily true in real life, I am simply saying that if I wanted to make a bucketload of money as a Netflix producer this is how I’d overly dramatise events)

1. The Matador: Carlos Sainz the hunter, in the shadow of his own teammate, unloved, hungry, determined; his own team dragging him down with a net named strategy; the prey (his teammate) biting back; the hunter chases the bull and emerges victorious.

2. It’s lonely at the top : Caesar is all-powerful, but the council has knives; over 10 minutes of screentime will be spent on George and Max (dickhead!); checo’s early challenge for the crown at Jeddah; Max’s all out crushing of his competitors’ efforts; Max as a polarising figure.

3. The prodigal son/the resurrection of Lazarus: Daniel Ricciardo’s fall, rehabilitation, and triumphant return; Christian Horner dragging Zak Brown; returning “home” to Red Bull but it’s like a den of wolves (perform or die); THE BROKEN HAND (pain suffering hospital); brief victory at Mexico (Daniel did well that race).

4. The Young Guns: Oscar’s meteoric season vs Nyck’s crash out of F1; Logan struggling to keep his seat; cutthroat Marko vs supportive dad Vowles (Qatar will be milked to death for dangerous conditions).

5. The Old Hands: Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, old rivals, still desperate and hungry like a pair of lions still battling for the top; the inverse fates of Aston Martin falling vs Mercedes rising as the season progresses

6. The Older Sibling and the Prodigy: McLaren’s rollercoaster of a season; Lando’s run of P2 but no wins; Oscar’s sprint race win; jealousy, rivalry, hunger, bitterness.

7. The Civil War: the infighting at Alpine, childhood friends turned rivals turned bitter enemies; Esteban’s no good very bad penalty day; Esteban’s Monaco podium; Pierre’s Zandvoort podium; their no holds barred infighting on radio; team orders; management chaos (Otmar leaving)

8. Man overboard: Mark my words DTS will spend a whole episode on Guenther ending in his abrupt departure from Haas and he will be sent off with 300% more respect than four time world champion Sebastian Vettel.

Oscar Gogh and Crow Bogeyman are characters I made fresh into the fandom- and with the new upcoming return of the website, I feel the need to get back into the story and fandom again. “But then, if Max gets fifth, and I get fourth, I still win, but only if Charles doesn’t get third. Oh, and if Yuki doesn’t win. But if I win and Charles gets second, that’s fine? But Max can’t place above me regardless. If he wins it’s all over. So I definitely need to place above Max, and not more then one below Charles. But if Charles-“

“Lando,” Oscar cuts him off, from where he’s sitting on the couch, amused expression on his face. He’s already in his Red Bull polo, and Lando is once again struck by how well dark blue looks on him. Sure, Lando still thinks orange looks much better on him, but that probably mostly has something to do with how Oscar was wearing orange when he fell in love with him. Or something.

Besides, he’s traded his own orange hoodie for a black one a while ago, so really he isn’t one to talk. It’s laid out on the bed next to him as he speaks, but he hasn’t been able to bring himself to actually put it on and walk out of their hotel room. Something about it makes it all so official.

If he puts the hoodie on, he’s one step closer to winning the championship. If he puts the hoodie on, he’s one step closer to losing the championship.

“I mean, I probably shouldn’t worry too much about Charles, Ferrari has been Ferrari-ing it a lot lately, so the chances of them screwing something up at least are pretty big. Oh my god, what if my team screws up? I mean I love those guys to death, but we’re so close to winning a championship here, and they have to be nervous, and you know what happens when a crew gets nervous, they get all jittery and-“

“Lando,” Oscar repeats, and he’s in front of him suddenly. He’s smiling, that soft one with the crinkly eyes he saves specifically for Lando, and Lando can’t help but smile back, even though he knows it’s a little fragile at the edges.

“I’m sorry,” Lando sighs. “I know it’s unfair to you, you’re practically out of the running, unless Max, Charles and I all DNF, or fall outside the points. Or, hey, no, if Max and I DNF and Charles gets, uh, eight, and you win, then you could still-“

Oscar kisses him. As far as distraction methods go, it’s pretty effective, because Lando’s brain immediately turns to TV static.

“What was that for?” He asks, when he pulls away, even though he kind of already knows the answer.

“You were rambling,” Oscar says, smiling fondly. He’s still holding Lando’s face, and pulls him forward ever so slightly to press a kiss to his forehead.

“Bleh,” Lando says, lets himself flop forward into Oscar’s embrace, nose buried into the crook of his neck. “I’m nervous,” he says.

He can feel Oscar’s smile press against the top of his head. “I know.”

“What if I don’t win?” He asks. “What if I go through all of this and then I just don’t win?” It’s the one thing that’s been on his mind the most. What if he’s been fighting this whole year only to throw it away at the last moment. What then?

Oscar shrugs, jostling Lando a little in the process. “Then you take a deep breath, straighten your shoulders, and try again.”

“Hm,” Lando says. It’s not that reassuring, but Oscar’s never really been good at being reassuring. It’s what Lando loves about him, at the end of the day. How he will always be honest, even though that’s not what Lando wants or needs to hear.

“Hey,” Oscar says, pulling away from the hug so he can look at Lando. “I love you.”

“Yeah,” Lando says, smiling. At least he’s won that. “I love you too,” he says, and with one last kiss to Oscar’s lips, goes to pull on his hoodie.
