Giving the Brothers the Cold Shoulder After an Arguement

Warnings: self-deprecation and allusions to depression (Levi)

Summary: After getting into a heated arguement with your demon partner, you decide ignoring them is the best way to handle it. When do forced to interact you remain cordial but it's obvious to anyone you aren't letting up.

Lucifer; Mammon; Levi; Satan; Asmo

Lucifer

Two can play that game. If you think Lucifer, the representation of pride himself, is going to break and come crawling back to you? You've got another thing coming.

He's more than willing to reflect your withdrawn attitude, and he does it exceptionally well. If nobody knew about your relationship prior they would think you're just mere acquaintances.

Of course, he will keep up the appearance of formality by engaging in minimal conversation like, "MC, would you pass the salt?", "Diavolo mentioned he wanted you to attend today's council meeting.", "Don't you think it's too late for you to be roaming the halls?"

But nobody can miss the ruby glare, that he convinces himself is subtle, he sends your way every time.

Unfortunately it will take awhile for Lucifer to get over his ego enough to properly address the situation. The more stubborn you are at ignoring him, the more irritated he gets, and the more determined he is to keep the apathetic facade up.

It's the accumulation of small things that eventually get him to reconsider. How empty his bed feels when you're not in it. How listening to music isn't nearly as relaxing without his human leaning their head on his shoulder. How the coffee tastes bitter when not prepared by you. How your avoidant gaze makes his heart sink.

His brothers, and even Diavolo, can feel the anger seeping through his skin as they would get the brunt of it.

After a surprisingly long amount of time, Lucifer will break. He'd make up some valid excuse that involves you visiting his study, and once you go in he will make sure you are not getting out. Not until you hear him out.

"How much longer are you planning on handling this like a child?! Is this how you deal with confrontation? By avoiding it?"

The demon catches himself and his stern glare almost instantly turns into a regretful pout. He recognizes it's his pride and ego that got you both to this point with a shake of his head. He stares at the floor for a few beats before lifting his head up with furrowed brows.

"I... I'm sorry. It's not your fault. I never thought I would be affected by some human ignoring me but this only made me realize you're not just some human to me. I should've insisted we talk about this properly before resorting to this. So, would you allow me to make things right? Let's talk... I can't bare to be apart from you like this."

Mammon

He's quick to pout and exaggerate how much he's ignoring you back. Verbally.

"Pfff, as if I'd care if MC doesn't wanna talk ta me. Can someone tell them how much I'm ignoring them and how I dont wanna see their stupid face ever again? 'Cause I don't!"

It only lasts for a day. It takes Mammon going up to your door, about to break in and excitedly drag you out somewhere, as usual, until it hits him that oh shit. You're still meant to be mad at each other. His hand hovers over the door knob for a bit until he sulkingly leaves.

Getting ignored by you is honestly killing him. As much as he tries to act like he doesn't care, it's beyond obvious how much he's trying to get your attention back. The lingering looks and his overall childlike whining is more than enough to indicate he is missing you. His brothers are beyond tired of his complaning, too.

He can't restrain himself from busting your door down and demanding you stop giving him the cold shoulder. It's been three days! Surely you aren't mad at him anymore and you can go back to cuddling, right?!

At this point Levi's forgotten what you two even argued about; he's too busy holing himself up in his room and trying to distract racing thoughts with games and anime. It doesn't feel the same without his player two though. He's just going through the motions without paying full attention to what he's playing/watching.

It goes on for a week or so until one of the brothers has to step in and convince you to go check up on him. As mad as you are at him still, everyone knows you're the only one Levi will answer the door to. He's been falling behind on his assignments, not even coming out for meals (thanks to his snack stash).

You're surprised to find his door unlocked. You spot him in his bed/bathtub, clutching at a pillow, looking absolutely miserable. He lifts his head up to chew you out for bargning in until he realizes it's you. He gets up so suddenly he almost falls over.

Just looking at him makes you feel bad, no matter how pissed you were. It takes a lot of convincing that you do not wish he was dead and that you just want to talk. Levi will be apologizing every few words, possibly cry, but after a thorough conversation he will calm enough to reevaluate what started this.

Satan

Satan will be furious enough during your heated exchange as it is; so much so he would force you out of whichever room you're in so you don't have to witness him tearing it to shreds. He's already feeling guilty for losing his composure around you but after you start ignoring him completely??

Man's going to need a two hour session of letting out pent up rage in his room every day this goes on for. Of course, he will not let any of it show in public. Especially around you.

Much like the eldest, he will remain cordial with you. Not so much to save face as to prove that he is a-okay without you, and that this doesn't bother him at all. Even though he is absolutely not okay and it bothers him to an absurd degree.

Unlike Lucifer, however, it takes him much less time to swallow his pride and talk to you. He recognizes you're both dealing with a silly arguement in your own childish way and have to deal with it by having a civilized conversation.

Definitely not because he looked up heaps of books and resources on couple disagreements and how to fix them.

"Listen. This has gone on for far too long, so don't you think it's about time we settle this? I'm sorry I lost my temper. It wasn't right of me. I don't like this distance we have right now.. let's fix it. I will hear you out properly this time. As long as you can do the same for me."

Surpsingly very mature and understanding about not just the cause of the arguement, but why you chose to avoid him. He promises to do better and give you both time to cool down if you were to ever have an arguement again so it doesn't end in you taking these drastic measures.

Asmodeous

This is just a phase, right? You were just being overdramatic in the moment and you'll be back to showering him with attention soon! Right? How could you stay mad at his beautiful face for long?

after everything that happened to him jack ran off to the woods to be away from prying human eyes, and as far as he knew he was viewed as (albeit unwilling and you could argue it was in self defense) murderer.... kind of puts a stop into your plans of finishing school and going into your dream career.. oh and also the teeny tiny detail that you now rely on human flesh as sustenance with no hope for being able to physically accept alternatives and as more time goes on you start to resemble something.. not human... theres that, too

if you want to see him during the day you're likely going to have to visit him in the woods, but fear not hes not homeless, hes found refuge in an old cabin; slowly hes been patching it up

dont expect him to make you do any work on the cabin, he views it solely as his responsibility and he'll likely deny any actual work helping rebuild it... though i dont think he would be against any tools and decoration (ex. stuff for a generator so he can have power, means to wash his clothes, basic supplies that arent food ectect)

i think overtime he would even get a little mini fridge for you so you can store snacks and drinks at his place, since he doesnt. have food

sometimes visits you at your place, but he only does this during the night so he doesnt get caught wandering the streets by other people... usually enters through the backdoor, to avoid anyone seeming coming from the front

very quiet and reserved, not very high energy... so most nights hanging out with him are calm... usually him asking you how you've been doing... you /could/ ask him the same, but he can only talk about patrolling his area in the woods for hikers straying too close so many times, and he doesnt want to bore you

thats actually another thing, he has traps set up around; mix of a means for hunting without having to go out and pick someone, and to make sure no one gets too close to the cabin

so i think, in the beginning he would ban you from coming to him without him guiding you, at least not until youve had ample time to get used to the traps and how to look for them and remember the general locations of them

teaches you how to forage, him being alone for so long has forced him to pick up new hobbies to keep him from going insane, so you now know how to do that sort of thing as well as identifying plants and fungi... fun!

on the very rare occasion you can convince jack to walk around town with you at night when everyone else is asleep.... its nice, i think.. kind of gives him a chance to just sink back into what his old life used to be and feel like hes normal again; though he tends to be quieter than usual on these walks

i dont think hes particularly possessive, dont get me wrong he cares about you and he does have the passing thought of you just up and leaving him one day (and he doesnt blame you, he holds a lot of self loathing for himself nowadays) but hes not going to be breathing down your neck and watching your every movement... he has enough trust in you not to get hurt or stuck in any situation

blunt, he doesnt beat around the bush and sometimes he doesnt sugarcoat things when the blow needs to be softened... mix of jack just being a little insensitive to others but also because hes gotten so used to thinking so logically and straight forward and numbing his own emotions over... who knows how long, probably even before he got all messed up..

can be a little sarcastic at times, so he might come off as an asshole every now and then, especially when you mix in the bluntness

i dont think he would actively try to be mean to others though, he'd try to understand and fix something if his habits upset you because he doesnt want to lose you

very cold, physically, so be sure to bring blankets and stuff when you want to cuddle into him

very careful with you, he has claws and teeth... and sometimes shedding blood around him can be really dangerous (he feeds on human material, he tends to push off eating for as long as he can since the fact hes eating people meat messes with him.. argument between survival of himself and survival of others; but due to his curse he can go into 'frenzies' and momentarily lose himself to his hunger. think how in finding nemo the sharks went nuts when dory cut her fin on accident, its like that but he doesnt go nuts all the time) so hes very very gentle even when he has a strong hold on himself

speaking of his forced diet, he doesnt eat often.. only really needing to do so every now and then, but i like to think he would still sit at the table with you to keep you company while you ate dinner

though he wouldnt want you to do the same when he DOES eat, might prefer you not come at all on those days actually

honestly this whole admin situation is getting out of hand. Like specifically the qsmp fandom has become one of the most toxic groups I've ever seen. Like I understand the anger and frustration. I understand we want answers we want things to go how we want them to. But at the end of the day the admin situation is something that unfortunately can't be instantly resolved. Work issues like this will take a while to resolve. Especially of the union is involved.

I honestly dislike being apart of fandoms because of toxic people, like I want to enjoy stuff without being in the fandoms because all I see is negative things and hate. Sure what I'm seeing is understandable that we all are upset. But even when I block hashtags that have these topics I still have only seen mostly stuff about the admin issue and I am curious to where I wanna know what's going on. I should just leave because I feel this fandom is going to be too toxic.

I want to love it as it updates me on things like what's going on on the streams and has the best pictures that people take and the fanart/animations are amazing!

But it's just not healthy for me to be in the fandoms and I should fully leave the qsmp fandom, I again still gonna enjoy qsmp as long as it excists as it's the only server all these cc's mainly interact on and I love the bond that have been made because of the server, but I'm forcing myself to never cone back because I dont think this fandom will ever improve as harsh as I may be sounding.

To those who are in a similar feeling as I am, if u need to leave u should if this all is hurting u. Take time away if u wanna come back and if even getting into the content is not helping u take time to find other content to enjoy, we all need to handel this whole situation in a healthy way because being upset is understandable but at the end of the day we can't really do a lot and harrassing people won't help at all even if we want to see action being done fully, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes and so those who are staying.

Please think before u speak, please be kind to one another, and to those who makes art and shares pictures of moments, please continue, u all make my day when I see some positivity on the qsmp hashtag, i may never come back (depending on what's happening after a while) but there are others who may be staying and/or taking a break and need some nice things to look at.

Sorry if this sounds like I'm angry at anyone, I'm just tired of this all as much as u all are probability and I just want u all to remember that even tho action needs to be made and for us to know some info.

This isn't a easy issue to resolve as it has layers and the union being involved will be resolving it take more time and there may be legal reasons to not share what's happening. We don't know the full story and what's happening behind the scenes.

So if u need to relax I reccomend doing anything else until we know what's going on. We'll eventually get answers it'll just take longer than we think.

But if this is my last goodbye, I wish everyone luck and I'm sorry that this all is upsetting u, I am feeling as upset and stressed as u all may be feeling. Take care of yourself and know that things may seem like life will never get better but it will. It just will take time. Don't worry about what may not occur but just focus on the present as we can't predict things.

Hey there -

Gaining a headmate who is an introject of a deceased family member sounds like it could be a scary, overwhelming, and painful experience. Honestly, we can’t help you more than a therapist could, and if you’re not in therapy, it would probably be a good idea to try seeing one soon, if your system is capable of it.

Have you tried talking to this factive a bit about your situation? Explaining how their source is a loved one who has passed away, and talking through your complicated feelings with them? Depending on how attached to their source they are, they may be able to see where you’re coming from and have some ideas of their own about how they’d like to be treated and how your system can navigate this situation in a way that works for everyone.

This might not be popular advice, but if it makes things easier for y’all, maybe you could try viewing this headmate as someone separate from their source. Like, as a person who happens to have the same name and similar characteristics. It’s true that introjects are not literally their sources, and so viewing your headmate in this lense might help your whole system have easier, healthier, and more positive interactions with this factive.

Also, it’s okay to go slow. If interacting with this factive is causing you a lot of pain or distress, it’s okay to limit your interactions, at least at first. This doesn’t mean you’re ignoring them or mistreating them… rather, it means you are trying to prioritize your own mental health and well-being. It’s like they say on airplanes in the event of an emergency; always secure your own oxygen mask before helping those around you. You need to look after yourself, and forcing yourself to interact with this factive right away probably won’t help anyone. If you’re able, you can try explaining this situation to them, and telling them that you need some time and space to process your emotions in a healthy way before you’ll be able to get to know them better.
