sun: 8/10 I love them and that is not bc its my sun sign, i genuinely like them in general. They are bubbly but also serious if needed. Theyre literally the twins and u if ure lucky (or unlucky) u will meet both sides of them. Yet i have to say, we can be incredibly toxic if unevolved. Also sometimes we start arguing for fun and dont really tell you about that so it leads to an actual beef, we sorry tho, but evolved we really mean no harm

moon: 6/10 i have mixed feelings about this one to be truthful, it can definetely be a hit but also a huge miss. there is a lot going on in their heads and hearts and they tend to overthink to the point they end up blaming you for things they themselves made up. Listen to their words when mad, it says what they wanted to say all along

rising: 9/10 im positive about this one tbh, like i as already mentioned in one of my posts before, they definetely have more of the "gemini" look than actual gemini sun people. They somehow look always very young or younger than they actually are atleast. Cute people <3 but maybe tend to be a little arrogant, what a tragedy

Aquarius

sun: 4/10 i definetely dont feel positive about aquas. Maybe its just the ones ive met i dont know, what ive experienced was just a complete turn off to be honest. Yet to be fair, i wanna mention they can be incredibly creative and there not getting enough credit for that. They have a universe inside of them they only show a few. Also very tragic

moon: 3/10 theyre over dramatic, Also not very good at expressing what bothers them so they tend to ghost people often - they can be mean as hell just bc they feel offended + they take things personally very fast

rising: 7/10 we're going somewhere. Aqua risings tend to be very upfront, maybe a little TOO upfront, to the point they will just shit on you just because. Well it could be better but as a friend of a friend, could be quite funny since they can be storytellers. but be warned: maybe ull become one of their stories

Capricorn

sun: 9/10 i really do like them, they always bring jokes that are just out of pocket but u will catch urself laughin still. They can be very mature and serious people if needed tho and they can give very good advice about whatever topic

moon: 7/10 lets not deny the fact that cap moons were probably the kids in school which always got mad if certain group projects weren't done how they would've done it, still I usually vibe with them bc theyre very trustworthy and empathic (if they want to)

rising: 8/10 i do feel good about it aswell - they come off as very collected, organized and clean. I feel like they take their first impression very seriously and are afraid anyone could NOT see them as anything i listed above. I miss a little resting here tho so cap rising: please consider a break!

Cancer

sun: 10/10 i love cancer suns, they so often possess such a calm yet bright energy which can influence the people all around them. Ive always felt so understood by cancers and memories with them always stuck out to me

moon: 6/10 i feel like cancer moons can be extremely problematic if not evolved. They tend to project their insecurities onto u too and make it your problem. They can be the person that always vents to you but will never let you vent to them. But evolved this placement can be just like cancer suns - incredibly understanding (maybe even psychic)

rising: 11/10 idk i find them a true masterpiece tbh. I feel like cancer risings look more like a "cancer" than typical cancer suns - its the same with gemini. I know i will probably be alone with this but i think this placement just left out all the "negative" traits about being a cancer and just claimed the best bc thats what it feels like to me

The following day was spent rather unproductively, Ringo hardly moved from his bed and refused to get dressed into anything decent. Paul and John had left early, they could easily tell when Ringo wanted to left alone, but they ensured that at least one of them would be available should Ringo need anything at all. Last night hardly felt tangible, but the grogginess of Ringo's mind and the overhanging sadness made it difficult to forget. He wasn't entirely sure what he felt so bummed out about: was it merely the pain he felt to see George with another man? Or was it the sheer humiliation Ringo had experienced, having to expose his feelings to George in such an unappealing way? Perhaps it was a mixture of both, but he was determined to only let it sully this single day for tomorrow held endless possibilities and he truly believed that the date with George would still go fairly well, even with all this tension now risen to the surface.

Sometimes it was nice to have days like this, comfortably lounging around in pyjamas with no real objectives in mind. Ringo channelled out any lasting aggression he was harbouring by blasting music on his speakers, just about loud enough to stop himself from thinking. He had more than several comfort films to watch, many of which starred his favourite actor Peter Sellers, to make the time fly by without much thought. Throughout the day he conversed sparsely with John and Paul, neither of them addressing the actual events of last night but their concerned tones were enough of an allusion.

He treated himself to some pizza for dinner, settling down in front of his television and letting the hours pass. These days of nothingness were necessary, especially with the amount of excitement he'd been unwillingly plagued with this past week. Part of him debated not even bothering to get into bed, just to gradually pass into unconsciousness on his sofa, but the mature section of his mind - one which was often ignored - convinced him to tuck himself into the covers and let sleep wash over him.

Ringo gladly slept well into the afternoon, the only thing getting him out of bed was his growling stomach. Reaching for his phone he swiped away a variety of meaningless notifications then paused when he noticed a text from George. His mixed feelings were considerably less tangled than they had been previously, but there was still a hint of dread in his stomach when he thought about him.

Look outside your door.

It was sent a couple of hours ago, Ringo worried he'd missed whatever surprise had been waiting for him. He didn't appreciate the cryptic tone, nonetheless he padded over to the front of his flat and cautiously opened the door. Sitting before him was a vase sporting a diverse bouquet of flowers, Ringo wasn't even sure he could name half of them. He looked at it for a while, registering how to fit this in with his torn attitude towards George, and noticed a small card perked upon one of the leaves; he picked it up and inspected it closely.

First of many treats I have planned for tonight. I hope your hangover isn't too bad and you aren't regretting giving me another chance.

Ringo found himself smiling, he must have looked rather odd standing in nothing but his boxers and socks clutching onto this card for longer than he needed to. The thought of one of his neighbours seeing him in this precarious situation spurred him to take the vase inside and shut the door behind him, he inhaled the fresh smell deeply as he brought them into the kitchen to find an adequate placement. He couldn't deny how beautiful they looked, as much as his pessimism wanted to convince him that this was merely a disingenuous ploy. It was difficult to hold onto the resentment, Ringo found himself leaning more towards the attitude that it was merely an extremely unfortunate situation and that George had never intended on hurting him. What use was there in holding onto the past?

Drinking his morning cup of tea, Ringo stared at the flowers before he realised he should probably respond to George's text.

Ringo debated whether to send another text, he really wanted to clear the air completely but wondered whether it would be better to do it in person. The last thing he wanted was for the whole night to feel like George was having to make it up to him, rather than it being an enjoyable night for the both of them. He understood George's guilt completely, but it would no doubt make him feel rather ridiculous with the forced nature of it all. If only things could just go back to normal, was that too much to ask? He let out a sigh, drafting out a message and staring at it for a while.

i dont want this to come across as harsh or ungrateful or anything but could we leave out any conversation about last night?? i just want to have a good time and not think about that stupid stuff

Impulsively, Ringo sent it without much further thought. He knew it wasn't the most coherent or effective way of getting across his jumbled thought process but the last thing he needed was even more stress seeping into today.

Last night? What happened last night? I was at home didn't step outside for a second

Ringo felt relief washing over him, a grin spreading across his face as he continued to stare at the message from George. Perhaps tonight wouldn't be as stressful as he'd originally anticipated, he'd almost forgotten how at ease George was able to make him feel.

Now arrived the age old dilemma: what on Earth was he meant to wear? He probably should've asked how upscale the place was that George had picked out for them, he didn't want to risk dressing up too much and looking like a fool. Not that Ringo had a great array of formal clothes to choose from, he wasn't one to frequent snobbish establishments if he could help it. He emptied out almost his entire wardrobe, tossing clothes behind him into barely distinguishable piles like he was starring in a teen movie. It took far longer than necessary to narrow down his choices, eventually settling on a navy jumper and some dark trousers. Looking at himself in the mirror he realised there was no way this outfit reflected the amount of time he'd spent choosing it, but the last thing Ringo was about to do was spend more time agonising over something that no doubt didn't matter much at all.

His stomach started rumbling while he waited for George to arrive, he only hoped the food would be appealing. Ringo had a reputation for being a picky eater, not that he could necessarily help it with his endless list of allergies. He found himself worrying that wherever they went Ringo wouldn't be able to eat anything and it would spiral the entire date into disaster. Exactly where this paranoia came from he didn't know, he only hoped it would disappear as soon as he laid eyes on George.

When the long-awaited text finally arrived, Ringo grabbed his jacket and hurried down the stairs. If he didn't eat soon he felt like he was going to pass out, he knew that wasn't truly the case but he couldn't deny that it felt that way. George beamed at him through the glass window, Ringo reciprocated the grin without it feeling even the slightest bit forced. Everything felt normal, thank goodness.

"Don't you look dashing?" George spoke first, a playful tone in his voice.

"Why thank you." Ringo stepped out of the building "I wasn't quite sure what to wear, if I'm being honest."

George was sporting a dark green turtleneck, on top of which he wore a black chequered blazer with trousers to match. It was the most dressed up Ringo had ever seen him, and it was a pleasant sight to say the least.

"Well you look great." George reassured him "Now, I'm absolutely starving so let's get a move on."

They slid into George's car, Ringo felt a little strange to not be the one doing the driving. As they began pulling out onto the main road, Ringo felt his phone buzz in his pocket. Trying to be polite, he decided to ignore it, it was likely only Paul or John wishing him good luck on his date. Neither of them spoke much as they drove, they'd have plenty of time to talk once they got to the restaurant. George hummed to himself rather quietly, Ringo wasn't sure he was even aware he was doing it. After several minutes, George's hand gradually moved away from the steering wheel and onto Ringo's thigh; he never turned to look at him, his eyes fixed firmly on the road ahead. Experimentally he began rubbing his thumb on the fabric of Ringo's trousers, it was a sweet gesture that Ringo appreciated. Ringo gathered the courage to press it one step further, sliding his own hand underneath and interlocking their fingers together. Once again George didn't turn, but a small smile spread on his face. Ringo wasn't sure this was exactly the safest way to drive, but it helped relax his nerves a little.

Not too much time had passed before they'd arrived at their destination, a rather small building with a cosy looking interior. George turned the ignition off but neither of them made any further movements, sat firmly in their seats with their hands still clasped together. The muffled sound of the bustling city outside the car overpowered any potential awkward silence, Ringo was afraid to move lest he ruined the moment.

"You ready to go inside?" George asked, his voice far quieter than necessary, finally turning to face Ringo.

Ringo nodded, hopefully managing to hide his disappointment as George's hand slipped away. They both stepped outside of the car and made their way towards the restaurant, it was pretty packed but fortunately George had booked a table for the both of them. Anxiety began to creep into Ringo's mind as they were guided to their seats, he hadn't been on a proper date like this for so long, he felt like he'd forgotten how to make regular conversation. Yet sitting down across from George made all those worries disappear, all he needed was the smallest amount of eye contact and he felt safe once again.

"You like wine?" George asked, perusing the drinks menu.

"I can't lie, I'm not a fan." Ringo didn't want to risk sounding rude.

"How about a cocktail or something? Just don't look at the prices." George chuckled "Whatever you want, my treat."

"I'd love a Sex on the Beach, if you're offering." Ringo said rather sheepishly.

"Last time I checked Liverpool didn't have any beaches." George feigned a quizzical expression "I think I'll have one too."

The drinks didn't take too long to arrive, Ringo felt relieved to get some alcohol in his body to help him relax. Although he was determined to not get too drunk tonight, it was about time he experienced George's company sober. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, rather homely, far less intimidating than the grand vision Ringo had conjured during one of his bouts of paranoia.

Everything just felt right, there was nowhere else he'd rather be or anyone else he'd rather be with. The gleam in George's eyes and the faint smile always barely hidden on his lips let Ringo know that he was feeling the exact same way.

Sycamore High: Bustling (Chapter two)

summary: Emma and Charlotte arrive for their first day at school at Sycamore High.

“Em?” A shy voice asked from her side. Emma turned to face the source. Charlotte stood there, concern and worry filled her eyes. Emma sighed and gave her a quick smile. She readjusted her backpack and kept walking alongside Charlotte.

“Are you excited?” Charlotte asked, playing her own game of hopscotch as they walked. Emma watched her with a smile. She adored how no matter what Charlotte was still the girl that Emma became friends with. A kind, caring, giddy, and creative spirit, a lifelong friend. Emma swallowed as they approached the building. It was giant, glistening with privilege. Emma shook her head and focused on the sidewalk, realizing Charlotte was not beside her anymore. She stopped and turned towards her friend who was now hugging herself a few steps back. Emma gave her a sad smile and walked up to her. She put a reassuring hand her friend's arm.

“Everything ok, Lottie?” The childhood nickname slid off her tongue. Charlotte looked up, tears brimming her eyes. Emma pulled her friend into a hug. “Dont be scared! I know its a new school but we've got each other” Emma comforted. They pulled away, Charlotte wiped her eyes and nodded, her eyes now gazing on the intimidating building. Emma turned to face the building as well, they gave it one look and then each other. Emma took Charlotte's hand and squeezed it as they walked towards Sycamore High.

After almost an hour of waiting in line, Emma and Charlotte had their class schedules and their shared locker in Sophmore Hall. They made their way through the crowded halls of school bustling with Sycamore High students glancing at every kid they didn't recognize. After pushing through the judgment, they arrived at their locker. Emma wasn't going to lie, this school was nice. The lights emitted a soothing color that didn't give her a headache at 7 in the morning. The walls weren't falling apart with old paint and graffiti. The floor was still its original color free of mysterious stains and awful stenches. The classrooms were organized and spacious. The real cherry, however, was the pristine lockers. Stench free, clean, even, and just enough space. The girl's locker was in the perfect spot. Not too crowded, which allowed for some quiet, however not tucked away from everything making it a useless journey between classes. Charlotte started on the lock that was placed on the door while Emma checked her phone. The time struck 7:45, 15 minutes until school began. Emma swiped checking through her socials.

“Aha!” Charlotte shouted triumphantly, Emma turned to face her, confusion riddled her face “I got the locker open!” A proud smile spread across her face. Emma gave a small laugh before patting Charlotte in congratulations. Charlotte nodded pridefully and began to put her stuff into the locker. Charlotte was taller so she took the higher shelf, once she was done Emma checked her schedule and put the books she wouldn't need before lunch into the locker. Both girls sighed relieved at the immediate feeling of a lighter backpack.

“We’ll need to get some decorations,” Charlotte said examining the inside of the locker “A whiteboard, pencil holder… Oo! Some fairy lights... Oh and pictures! Of us!” Charlotte exclaimed giving Emma a sweet smile. Emma nodded slightly scared but glad to see her friend's nerves be projected into something beneficial. Charlotte closed the locker and readjusted herself quickly. The girls looked down at their schedule before unconsciously switching schedules to read each other's classes. A smile tugged at Emma at this, they had been friends for so long they practically worked in sync. Emma quickly scribbled down that her first-period class would be switched with her 4th-period class after today. Apparently, they were still figuring out schedules. They finished and handed them back.

“Looks like we have some of the same classes! Including the first period! Home Ec today and then for the rest of the year Musical Theatre!” Charlotte looked down the hall, Emma gave her an annoyed glance. Charlotte and Emma made a pact to sign up for one elective that the other wanted to do. Charlotte chose musical theatre and Emma chose photography. Charlotte stuck out her tongue, Emma took out her map.

“Home Ec first thing in the morning? Jeezus” Emma sighed before searching for the room on her map, spotting it she showed Charlotte and they made their way towards it. Once they arrived they took seats next to each other and listened as the teacher described the year's syllabus.

The first 2 classes went by quickly. Each class was 90 minutes, 2 before lunch, 2 after. Emma won't admit it but the A-day/B-day class rotation confused her at first. Home Ec was actually quite interesting and Emma was interested to participate in it. Charlotte adored it and couldn't stop smiling, that is until their second class. Emma went their separate ways. Emma went to English, Charlotte made her way to Health. Their respective classes were… well, they weren't really much, they just happened. Once the bell rang for lunch, the girls made their way to the lockers to meet up. Emma was rushing a tad bit seeing as her class was on the other side of the school. So much for perfect locker placement, Emma thought. She sped walked through the hall clutching her books. In Emma's defense, the halls became a bit of a blur. So when she bumped into someone causing both of them to scatter their things, she didn't see who it was for a moment.

“I am so sorry!” She exclaimed dropping to her knees, gathering her things.

“Oh uh... No worries..” The voice was awkward, she saw his figure drop down to the ground to gather their things. They both stood and faced each other. She stood in front of a boy, his hair messy and eyes tired. Emma gave an awkward apologetic smile, he returned it. She scanned him and noticed a name on one of his books, she couldn't quite make it out. She squinted.

“Paul…” He said noticing her gaze, she perked up and nodded. He stuck out his free hand towards her, she shook it. She felt both of them tense up at the unusual amount of nervous hand sweat coming from the pair.

“Emma” She stated “Sorry again, I'm new. Can you tell?” She joked sarcastically. He chuckled, his gaze moved from Emma to something behind her. She turned her head to see two males standing, staring at the pair expectantly. The taller one looked annoyed, the smaller one looked far out. He was simply smiling at them but he wasn't there. “Sorry for keeping you” She mumbled, he snapped his head back to her.

“No, no you're fine. My friend is just impatient… I should go” He said, Emma didn't understand the twinge of disappointment she felt at his words. She nodded.

“Right well, it was nice meeting you Paul,” She said firmly

“You too Emma” He smiled kindly before making his way towards his friends. Disappearing into the crowd of students bustling through.

thoughts on stranger things three (spoilers. so many.)

this is just me yellin into the void as usual, but I like recording my opinions on things even if no one will read them

good:

- every single scene w/ the robin, steve, erica, dustin gang, especially!!! the coming out scene. scoops?? iconic. steve and dustin’s secret handshake? transcendent. the drugged out back to the future scene? perfect.

- eleven and max say fuck the patriarchy. love el’s new look

- more competent women is always a win

- funhouse fight!!! carnival fight!!!FIREWORKS??!??!

- the destruction of the mall (sadly the only anticapitalist symbolism I could find)

- the scene after jonathan and nancy get fired where they’re angry about their separate marginalized identities making this loss worse. I really liked how it went into the ways it will impact both of them, and I especially liked when nancy got home and talked to her mom.

- joyce going buckwild and getting shit done.

- the portrayal of hypervigilance as a symptom of PTSD. All of these characters have seen some shit, and all of them pick up on the littlest things the second they present themselves because subconsciously, they’re always on edge, always aware of bad it could break.

- most of will’s character arc. not all, but most of it. the queer experience of watching all your friends get dates and feeling like you’re missing out on something? trying to regain their interest because you feel lost and left behind? worrying that you’re not “growing up” because you don’t recognize romantic interest in yourself? not realizing you’re falling for your best friend until they get a romantic partner and suddenly you hate the partner even though they haven’t done anything wrong? a poignant, beautiful, very painful portrayal of queer teenhood. I really, really wish there was a moment that the audience realized will was in love with mike though. Like, it’s been building for a very long time. Also, a more thorough confirmation of will’s queerness would’ve been nice. I think they meant mike saying “you don’t understand bc you don’t like girls” to be that confirmation, but I want to hear it from will. Robin’s moment is so so so good though.

- keeping with the stranger things pattern of having a bunch of different groups of people all in different genres and then together they all meet up and go ?????

- I know every says billy didn’t get enough of a redemption arc but tbh I did not see his character development as redeeming in any way and I liked that. It didn’t excuse his abusive actions, it just explained them. There was no “oh he was secretly good all along”, no dramatic total character reversal on his death bed, just him deciding that he had enough of being controlled. Max didn’t get full closure with him, he didn’t say some big speech about being wrong or realizing the ramifications of his actions bc he hadn’t reached that point yet. he just said “I’m sorry” and died. that could mean “i’m sorry for how I’ve treated you”, “I’m sorry for how many people I’ve killed”, “I’m sorry for not being able to stop the monster”, anything. we don’t know what it means. we don’t get an explanation. It speaks to how survivors of abuse often don’t get to know why, don’t get closure, don’t get all the answers.

- steve finally won a fight before getting the shit kicked out of him

- the whole no one knowing anything about each other bc no cell phones and/or wasnt there when It Happened.

- Erica getting the DND set was poetic cinema

- when joyce sees will on the firetruck and they run towards each other because finally, for once, will is completely unscathed, will isn’t the one who got hurt/possessed. I was already crying but this is the part where i had to get tissues bc I was sobbing.

Bad:

- the red scare bullshit and glorification of capitalism. this show started out as “the US govt is doing shady shit” and now the big climatic “everything’s alright” is the army getting there?? what the fuck. There’s being accurate to the time period and then there’s sending a message. they could’ve subverted that trope in so many ways, but they just went for straight up “capitalism is great! fuck russia!” and I hated that. also, talk about one-note villainry. there weren’t even any dramatic monologues to make up for it, it just kinda sucked.

- Hopper’s character in the beginning of the season. the scene where he gets wasted after getting stood up? shitty. not talking to el about his vaguely sexist overprotective actions? shitty. blowing up at joyce for no reason? shitty. he pulls it together in the end but it was OOC for a bit there. Plus I would kill for more “hopper and el work through their trauma together”, rather than “friend group splinters bc hopper did a yell”

- I don’t know what to think about hopper’s death. It just hurts, and not in a satisfying, last harry potter book way.

- why the fuck are the byers and el moving?????? did they ever give a reason???? WHY?????? WILL AND EL’S ENTIRE SUPPORT NETWORK, THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY’VE BEEN THROUGH AND CAN HELP THEM, IS IN HAWKINS!!!!!

- the ads. omg the ads. lucas idc about your fucking coke. there’s so much goddamn product placement. christ on a goddamn bicycle.

- previous seasons have had body horror, but it was all black goo so it was removed from reality and conveyed a psychological, otherworldly horror. and I liked that. WHY WAS THERE SO MUCH FUCJING MEAT IN THIS ONE??? THE MIND FLAYER LOOKED LIKE IT WAS MADE OF BBQ SAUCE AND I HATED IT!!! STOP!!!THE MEATS!!!!!

I was also half expecting it to be joyce who remembered it from all the studying she did on the magnets. I did enjoy the whole “i met a girl at camp” story being unbelievable until it was but like I was expecting the thing she wanted him to say to be like a famous star wars love quote or something not an entire song jesus christ

- if hopper turns out to be alive I will face god and walk backwards into hell. I suffered through supernatural, I will not be caught in a cycle of fake deaths again.

- i get the whole “we’re growing up now” thing but aren’t they like 13? theyre still so young??? also like i dont rly care for the vague soap-opera-y vibes the core squad gave off.

- the only people who got flayed were either a. already pretty shitty or b. completely unknown. like. it just made it less scary????

- hopper just fucking standing by the machine looking at joyce instead of running the 5 seconds up the steps into the room. seriously? was that supposed to be slow motion or was that real time???

- hey does mrs wheeler have eyes??? like??? there were exactly two (2) scenes she had with mike and nancy and both were Big Conversations like they live there right/????tbh i forgot she was their mom until those scenes bc of the whole billy thing, which i decidedly do not have an opinion on but like....do they eat breakfast there???

date: various, december 4th 1998, 2001, 2006, 2011, 2018 word count: 2170 triggers: emotionally abusive parenting, neglectful parenting, general shitty parenting, underage drinking, forced drinking, abandonment, general terrible family notes: me?? being literally like twenty fucking days late on her birthday solo ( it was meant for dec 4th but whatever i dont give a shit ) ?? yes, of course because indeed, i, am terrible, in fact, this is terrible and none of y’all should read it, i’m only posting it bc i won’t let myself not do it.

1998, age one. she spends her first birthday crying.

she was never a quiet baby. when she was first set into her mother’s arms by the nurses, she was crying; she cried through the nights from when she got home into the empty estate. her room is white, adorned with lace and silk, toys and it looks like a showroom – the perfect “socialite’s first baby room” for her mother to giggle about to her friends, show off as she barely takes a glance over the infant dozing in the bed. adjacent to her parents’ room, close enough to be heard, far enough for her not be seen, like most of the problems in the son family.

“come on,” it’s two in the morning, her mother, usually polished and a gushing smile on her face, was tired, “i don’t know what’s wrong with you.”

“she’s hungry, i don’t know, why don’t you feed her?” her father was skulking in the corner, head in his hands as she slumped over in the pristine rocking chair in the corner of the room.

“i already tried, she’s not hungry – she always does this, i don’t know what to do.”

“then work it out,” he lights a cigarette in the corner of the room, drawing in and out without a thought, “i don’t know what you want me to do – move her into one of the other rooms, i would like to sleep – do you think creativity stems from this? do you think i can write another best seller if i never get any sleep? what do you expect from me – you can’t keep walking around pretending you’re even something without money rolling in; even your body’s gone after her.”

her mother didn’t even react to his words – it was normal. “as if you’re the peak of creativity – you’ve been writing the same thing for years.”

“as if you know anything, you’ve made a living of being on your back.”

“i’ve made a living out of working hard, unlike you, how about you actually release something if you’re such a bestseller and stop pretending you’re some starving artist locked away in your study.”

“i’ll stop locking myself in the study when the baby’s gone and you’ve decided to stand there and look good again, quietly.”

“oh, but you’re fine to get yourself out of the room when the cleaner comes over, or the cook, or any of the other young women that seem to come and go a little richer than their contract.”

“shut up,” her father grumbled, “not exactly like you’ve held up well.”

“how about w-“

the two were cut off by the loud cry of their daughter.

“i’m leaving.” with a few slams of doors, her father left.

and her mother was alone, eyes shifting around the sickly room to her daughter.

“you better be worth it.”

and she left the room with her daughter crying out, far enough that she didn’t have to think about her for a second.

2001, age four. she spends her fourth birthday on stage.

she’s been dressed up like a doll: the dress is bright pink, puffy and encompasses all of her; her face felt tacky, sticky, and was covered in heavy makeup; and her eyes can barely stay open. she’s spent the hours of the morning walking around in circles, her feet ached, and she’d made a picture perfect routine.

before she could walk, she had been in beauty pageants, her mother was trying to shill her to industry connections to get her into ads and modelling jobs; sohee hated it. she screamed at her mother, she cried all the time, but it didn’t stop it, so eventually little sohee learned to deal with it.

her friends had teased her relentlessly the days before, playing in the park with wide smiles ( sohee hadn’t even noticed her father had sulked off instead of watching her ) before they started poking fun at her for not having a birthday party; they didn’t mean it, they were young, barely enough to know anything but they’d all been able to have parties, so why not her? sohee had ran home, tugging at her mother’s dress, and she just shook her head. she woke up on her birthday early to practice, nothing else was new.

she smiled, she twirled, she sang, and she got some stupid crown at a no name beauty pageant.

she went home a winner, and her mother yelled at her for her foot placement.

2006, age nine. she spends her ninth birthday lost in the woods.

her father’s writing process was something he called an art, it was something that her mother called stupid and a waste of time, sohee never even noticed any sort of backwards routine before her ninth birthday. one of his writing rituals included packing his bags, getting on a plane and flying out to a woodland cabin across the pond to “cleanse his thoughts” and that time, much to his dismay, chipper, young sohee was along for the ride.

she’s gleeful the entire way there, and it gives her father a headache, but she doesn’t notice. the car’s silent apart from her remarks as it always was. he didn’t have much to say to her, but with what ran through his mind it was better that way. she doesn’t know how to communicate with the people there, she knows how to ask basic questions and greetings, but when her father has short conversations with those they meet at pit stops, sohee stands there by his side wide eyed and confused.

the house isn’t the rustic, cold and damp place that bleeds information as he pretends it is – it’s a vacation home, without a doubt. and when they walk in, it looks like the type of extravagant place that families in movies sohee’s seen come to get together for christmas celebrations before slapstick chaos. but when her dad went into his office and slammed the door, she felt so cold.

she spends three days sitting around the house, flicking through magazines and watching dvds that she’d packed with her. and then her birthday rolls around, and it’s more of the same – her father’s locked away in his office smoking up a house fire and barely touching pen to paper and she’s pacing around the house pouting and crying that she hasn’t heard happy birthday once.

the hands on the clock hit five and little sohee decides that she’s had enough with all of this. shoelaces hastily tied, a backpack stuffed with her favourite stuffed animals for company and snacks for the trip – she decides that she’s going to have an adventure by herself if no one else wants to have fun with her.

it’s a few hours before she realises that she has no idea where she is, and the cold air starts to brush harshly over her skin. she’d not thought to bring any sort of torch, or even a warm jacket, with her mind clouded for a want to simply do something cool – and now she’d been trekking through the woods into the breaking hour of the night. and she was scared.

she’s out there for around three more hours, sitting herself atop of a log crying before by luck a group of hikers come by her, patient with her lack of understanding, and comfort her before leading her back to her father’s house without a hitch. she’s so thankful, she tries her best to talk to them, she exclaims that it’s her birthday in the best way that they can understand, and she makes it back inside. she tries to get them to stay, but they just smile at her, and wish her a good night – they try to speak with her father, but he doesn’t even answer the door.

cold and exhausted, sohee decides to end her birthday as quick as she can when she gets inside.

her father checks on her to say one thing,

“why did you track mud through the house? can’t you do something right?”

2011, age fourteen. on her fourteenth birthday, she decides that she’s grown up.

her parents decide to make some ill fated attempt to go to dinner on her birthday, but she doesn’t care, the most acknowledgement she gets of the day is that her mother makes some offhanded comment about how many years she’s been suffering because of her. in all truth, sohee’s happeir that they’re out of the house – she skips going to her training that night, she calls it a gift to herself.

so she does what she thinks the grown ups do, she reaches up to her father’s liquor cabinet and she pours herself a comically full glass of whiskey – it’s her first drink, she just wants to feel cool, grown up, independent. she takes one sip and she decides she’s done, and then she sets the glass down coughing up the fire in her throat.

“what are you doing?” her mother’s voice cut through the air, and sohee’s heart skipped a beat.

“nothing,” sohee dismissed, curtly, her chest pounding with anxiety, “i thought you’d be gone for the night, i believe you said that you couldn’t stand the reminder of me being born, or whatever.”

“doesn’t seem like nothing,” her mother hummed, glass now in hand and examining it like something priceless, her gaze practically cutting through it back through to her daughter, “your father was getting along with the waitress, i left them to it.”

that didn’t even dignify a response from sohee, who instead huffed, shrugged, and returned to a point of apathy.

“drink it.” her mother sits the glass in front of sohee. she’s confused.

“what?”

“i just said drink it, you poured it, and you’ll finish it.”

“i don’t want to – it tastes shitty, and you can’t tell me what to do.”

“i can,” her mother is completely unbothered by sohee’s argument, “want your tuition paid? want to continue to live somewhere? you’ll finish it.”

“i can’t,” she knows she can’t, she already feels sick to the stomach.

“i didn’t raise a quitter,” her mother’s tone is harsh, firm.

and so sohee drinks it, raises the liquor that burns like fire to her lips and takes a drink. but it’s not enough.

“the entire thing.” her mother states again.

so she does, it’s every drink makes her feel sick to her stomach – it’s an overwhelming type of sickness that she’s never felt before, her stomach a ship at storm, and then she runs off to the bathroom. she barely catches her mother’s content smile, before a sigh.

she spends the rest of the night curled over the toilet.

2018, age twenty one. it’s her first birthday as an idol.

she doesn’t really celebrate birthdays anymore, ever since she spent the fifteenth birthday holed up in her school library – which she considered the best day that she’d had up until that birthday – acknowledging it just felt better to her than acknowledging she was an entire year older.

but she turns around in the morning, eyes barely open and her hands reach out for her phone.

she smiles, she doesn’t quite know how to respond to the message – and she notices that there’s more notifications behind it – she rarely ever told people the day she was born in high school to avoid any hype around it for bad memories sake but now, her chest feels gentle, and she’s smiling from ear to ear. she makes a note to respond to it later, when it’s processed for her.

so she walks out into her kitchen and she sees seunghee standing there, a huge, motherly grin on her face that she’s grown to adore seeing on her close friend. “what’s got you smiling like that?” she questions, pacing around the room.

“i have something for you,” the leader shifted to the side, a dainty, well decorated cake sitting behind her on the counter. “it’s for you, a you’re getting old signal,” she laughed, bringing over the cake to be in front of sohee, “i’m only kidding, happy birthday.”

the leader rushed to shove a candle into it, “i know we’re going to have to go soon, so i’m going to do this now,” she lit it up, “now make a wish.”

it’s the first birthday cake she’s ever had, and she doesn’t quite know how to approach it. so she doesn’t make a wish, but instead she just smiles and blows out the flame.

it’s her first happy birthday

Sugar and Snow

This was way too much fun to write. Text-talk style is my guilty pleasure. The title isn’t my best, but half the story is about a ski trip and half of it is about sufganiyot.

It was the sixth night and no one was home. Steve shouldn’t have been surprised, they were all busy people. The fact that nothing alien or super powered had threatened the world in the past few weeks was a miracle all on it’s own. He was grateful for the peaceful days they had together, but he was left wanting more as he stood alone in the kitchen, mading a single sandwich out of leftover brisket. There weren’t even any latkas left to heat up, and he really didn’t feel like making more if he was just by himself.

He was on the last bites of his sandwich when his phone buzzed. A lone text message from Tony. [check snapchat]

Steve was just happy with was in actual English instead of whatever amalgamation of emojis the genius was prone to communicate with. Bucky had picked up on that new language fast enough, which seemed to give everyone else clearance to speak solely in pictures on the team group text. They were having so much fun and Steve didn’t have the heart to tell them he felt left out.

Snapchat wasn’t as bad. It took him a little longer than everyone else to figure out, but once he did, he loved it. It was still more pictures than words, but it was pictures of real life. Usually it was selfies or sneaky pictures of Clint asleep at a stakeout. The stickers were really fun and everyone seemed to enjoy the drawings Steve could create after Natasha had given him a stylus.

He opened the app, noticing several notifications waiting for him on the team thread. A video of Sam walking past some birds on his way to meet with an advisor for his master’s degree, a series of photos in which Bucky braided Thor’s hair, and finally, one photo from Tony.

The geo-filter said Los Angeles in a fancy type, and the image was of a giant donut sign above a building. The caption must have been what he wanted Steve to see.

[THEY MAKE SUFGANIYOT AND IM SCREAMING want some???]

The rest of the picture was filled with heart-eye emojis and what looked like water droplets. Steve chuckled to himself and snapped a photo of his open palm. It only took a minute to doodle a cartoon donut on the image.

[I would love one.]

Tony didn’t reply for a while, but Steve had already put his phone away and made himself comfortable in the living room. Everyone else had missions and meetings and “Thor’s never been skiing so we’re going upstate for the day”, but Steve had things to do too. Important things like…

Well, he had his sketch book and some podcasts. That was fine.

It could have been five minutes or a few hours, but Steve’s phone turned on and didn’t seem to stop. He scrambled to pull it out of his pocket; it would only go off like this if he was getting a phone call which probably meant villainy had finally stopped taking a vacation. If that was the case, though, wouldn’t Jarvis be alerting him too?

Instead of a phone call, he was rapidly getting a string of text messages.

TStark: buck how could u fail us like this???

Bucky: wut im skiing i literally did nothing

Widow: winter soldier sucks at winter sports btw

Bucky: fuck off

Hawkeye: haha i want pics

TStark: no shut up

TStark: steve’s never had Sigmund Freud

TStark: i mean stuff and yaks

TStark: autocorrect bullshit i cant do this while flying

Widow: omg bucky how could u

Steve had barely caught up with the string of texts when his snapchat notified him again. It was from Natasha’s account, but someone else was filming. Likely Thor, if the camera half being covered by a thumb was anything to go by. The video featured Natasha and Bucky, both on skis at the bottom of a slope they must have just come down. With one solid shove, she pushed him into a snow bank. There was shouting and laughter before the video cut out.

Bucky: tony i need a new phone tash got snow in mine

TStark: haha nice

TStark: but seriously

TStark: every1 get home asap so we can eat these

Hawkeye: dont u have an AM meeting tomorrow?

Col.Rhodes: Pepper is not going to be happy about this.

Another snapchat notification, this time with a photo taken from the Iron Man armor’s outside cameras. Tony didn’t just have a box of donuts, he had a crate, carrying it on the suit’s shoulders like he would carry building materials. The photo was surrounded by thumbs up emojis and a small bit of text in the corner. Steve leaned in, just barely reading it before the image timed out.

[I told Sir that I do not approve]

Steve chuckled again, glancing up at the ceiling. “He giving you too much trouble, Jarvis?”

“At least I got him to stop texting and flying. The trade off is I have to type his messages for him. And he is very particular about the placement of those emoticons.” The AI sounded the closest Steve had ever heard him to exhausted.

Another video came in, this time from Sam. The camera was facing him as he walked across campus.

“I was in a meeting,” He sounded furious, but it was too over the top. Steve knew what a truly angry Sam sounded like, so this must be played up for a joke. “In a meeting with my graduate advisor and my phone sounds like the end of the world. She asks me if it’s Avengers business and I have to look her dead in the eye, with all you still texting me, and tell her to ignore it.” The camera rapidly moved as Sam seemed to throw up his hands. “Now she thinks I value my studies over saving the world and you know what, right now I think I do!”

The video ended, followed with a short text message.

Falcon: You guys suck

The rest of the team replied with a series of different emojis, ranging from laughing symbols to something with birds that was probably a Falcon related joke Steve didn’t quite get.

Falcon: T I want those donuts when I get home

TStark: what’s that birdy? i should go faster??

Jarvis: Sir is already breaking several interstate flight regulations, please do not encourage him.

Col.Rhodes: damnit sam

Widow: save some for us!

“Iron Man should be landing at the tower in fifteen minutes.” Jarvis reported. Steve could hear the coffee machine in the kitchen start to power up. “Mr. Wilson will be arriving in twenty. Agent Romanoff, Sergeant Barnes, and Thor are leaving the ski lodge and are due home in just under two hours.”

“You work way too hard, Jarvis.” Steve slid his phone to silent, knowing Jarvis would tell him if there was anything important, and went back to sketching.

“Captain, you have no idea.”

Exactly fifteen minutes later, Tony was on the landing platform outside the tower windows. He all but dragged the crate into the kitchen, opening it and pulling out smaller cardboard boxes. He walked into the living room with a spring in his step, pastry in one hand, cell phone in the other.

“Those don’t look like your usual donuts, Tony.” Steve said. It looked more like a small cake with powdered sugar on top.

Tony didn’t say a word, just kept the camera on Steve as he shoved the pastry in the soldier’s face. Steve took a bite, jelly gushing around the sides as flavor overwhelmed his senses. His eyes must have been comically wide as Tony started laughing before lowering his phone. A few seconds later, as Steve was cradling the donut to prevent any jelly or crumbs from getting on the couch, his own phone went off. He let out a sigh, half annoyed despite the something warm curling inside him, knowing the rest of the team would get to share the moment of his first sufganiyot with him.

I was the first person in the office. The only person who seemed to be around was DK, and even though it was so early, it was like he had all the energy of the world.

I placed the tray of coffees I had brought onto Namjoon's desk and sat down in the chair next to it.

Pulling out my notebook, I flipped to the page that had little notes and doodles about how the place looked. Going back to writing notes, it wasn't long before the door opened and Wonwoo appeared.

"Morning" I smile, pointing to the coffees. "I brought you guys some coffee"

Wonwoo smiles, picking up the one with his name on. He took a sip and his smile beamed.

"My favourite! How did you know?" Giggling to myself, I shrug.

"Oh nothing, I just guessed" Actually, I asked DK when I left yesterday.

"That's awesome! Thanks (Y/N)!"

"That's okay"

Wonwoo went and sat down at his desk, placing some of his things on the table, and turning on his computer. I make a face to myself, trying to decide if I should ask him some questions before I can even move I hear a chuckle escape him.

"What do you want to ask?" I look at him, and he has one eyebrow raised and is sending me a smile.

"Huh?"

"You have that look on your face"

"What look?"

"Like you want to ask questions" A smile and laugh awkwardly, nodding slightly.

"Yeah I do actually"

"Well," Wonwoo starts, patting on the chair next to his desk. "What do you want to ask?"

I smile wide, and quickly change seats, so I was now sitting next to Wonwoo. I flick to a clean page in my notebook and click my pen.

"So, how do you feel about working here?" I see Wonwoo make a face to himself, as he racks through his brain about how to answer.

"I love it, I love being there for people and helping" Wonwoo starts, "But I also love being able to put away the bad people and proving the innocent as innocent" I nod as he talks, noting down what he's saying, a small smile appearing on my lips.

"Are there any times you regret becoming a detective?" Wonwoo nods straight away.

"There are always times you think to yourself and you're like why this? Out of everything out there, why did you pick this? I get that sometimes, I get worried something will happen and I won't be able to the people I love most again" Wonwoo sighs, his face sinking into a frown. "Not being able to see the person I love ever again is what terrifies me the most in life"

"Who do you love?" I ask Wonwoo starts to smile again.

"My boyfriend" Wonwoo nods, and my smile widens.

"Tell me about him" I close my notebook, and place it on his desk so I could listen to his better and focus on him.

"He's 21, he wants to own a restaurant" He laughs, "We meet a few years ago through friends, and just instantly connected, we've been together for about a year"

"That's adorable!" I giggle, smiling like an idiot. Wonwoo laughs too, a pink blush on his cheeks.

"Are you with anyone?" He asks, and I shake my head.

"Me? No" I laugh. "I'm too awkward for that"

"Or you just haven't found the right person yet?" Wonwoo questions, and I shrug. "Or you're too focused on your studies"

"That too"

"Have you been in a relationship?" I nod, my smile dropping.

"Yeah, back when I started uni" I laugh, shaking my head.

"Something bad happened?"

"I feel like bad would be an understatement, but maybe that's just me overreacting"

"What happened?"

"We were together from about the end of high school, to around the end of the first year of uni, so just about over a year" I started, I started to fiddle with the ring on my finger, to keep me distracted- or occupied, whatever you wanted to phrase it. "And once uni started, I got focused on my work and I wasn't the party type either so I wouldn't go to parties, so we started to drift which wasn't surprising to be honest because we were totally two different people with two completely different sources of interest..." I blabbered on, making Wonwoo send me a look.

"You're babbling" I let out a sigh, nodding.

"I know"

"Well," Wonwoo said in a soft voice, "What happened"

"He started cheating on me, even with people I was closest with because to him, I wasn't being a good girlfriend and being giving enough so he had a 'valid reason' to cheat on me" I scoff, blinking rapidly. "So I decided to focus more on my studies, and to make sure I could do whatever I needed to let my dreams come true" I looked to Wonwoo, and he's frowning. I let out a breath, shook my head and forced a smile. "And now I'm here, I'm on my final year and I get to be on placement with a bunch of awesome detectives, and the other one" I laugh, and Wonwoo starts to smile.

"Well, first off, that guy sounds like an asshole and I'm sure you won't ever be a bad girlfriend, especially if you're so focused on your dream"

"Thank you"

"its okay" I let out another sigh, before looking at Wonwoo and changing my mood completely, so I didn't seem like I was feeling down.

"What do you thinks going to happen today?"

"To be honest, anything, I can't describe how unpredictable it is here"

"Is everything really that hectic here?" Wonwoo nods.

"Life of a detective and the station, you never know what's going to happen" Laughing, Wonwoo types in his password for his computer, and the screen turns into a photo of Wonwoo and his boyfriend smiling happily at the camera. "It's an adventure every day"

The room soon turns to silence, not a silence where it was awkward or uncomfortable, but a silence where it was nice, and it was understanding. I felt like I had grown a lot closer to Wonwoo even though I hadn't known him very long. I felt like I was going to grow close to everyone here in some way, even if they –he- didn't want to.

After a while, the other detectives started to arrive; first Namjoon, his hair seems to be still in a mess from waking up, but his best dress shirt and trousers were on, and his badge was again on his hip.

"Morning Namjoon"

"Morning (Y/N), Wonwoo," He noticed the coffee and looked between us. "Coffee?"

"(Y/N) brought them!" Wonwoo smiled, sipping again at his. "She even guessed our favourites"

Namjoon picked his up, sipped at it and hummed in gratefulness and sat down at his desk.

"Just what the doctor ordered so early in the morning, thank you (Y/N)" I smiled, as Namjoon met it.

"It's fine, it's the least I could do" I made a realisation that by the time, Namjoon had arrived, the coffees may have gotten colder. "Oh, sorry if they've gone a bit cold, I was here a bit early"

"It's okay (Y/N), they're still a perfect temperature"

"When do you think Yoongi and Seungcheol will get here?" I ask, and Namjoon shrugs.

"Yoongi should get here soon, whereas Seungcheol, he'll get here anytime between now and ten o'clock"

"Why does he get here so late?" I ask, generally intrigued.

"Oh, he just has some stuff to do before coming in, so it's okay" I nod and make a face to myself.

"I'm going to go get a drink for myself, but I'll be back soon"

"Okay, be careful" Wonwoo smiles, and I smile back.

"I will be, you guys want or need anything?"

"No, we're okay here" Namjoon replies. I nod and take my purse from out of my bag and head to the door.

"I'll be back soon"

I heard their replies and closed the door behind me. I make my way down the hallways and smile at DK once I get to the front desk.

"Hello Dokyeom" His smile is still beaming, and he's sitting with his laptop in front of him behind the desk.

"(Y/N)! Hello!"

"I'm going out to get a drink, do you want anything?" DK's smile somehow brightens even more and he nods.

"If you don't mind, can I have a drink please?"

"Yeah, that's fine, any certain thing you want?"

"Can I just have a soda please" I nod, and raise a thumbs up.

"Okay! I'll be back soon!"

"Be safe!"

Giggling to myself, I exit the building and raise an eyebrow when I see Seungcheol get out what seems to be his car, along with a boy who seemed a bit younger than myself. The way Seungcheol was smiling was something I had never seen before, he looked different to how he looked inside, how he looked as detective Choi Seungcheol. The boy smiled, before hugging Seungcheol and walked off to the direction of where the nearest school was located.

I take a breath, hiding my face, and changing my course quickly so Seungcheol were to not notice me. I look between my fingers and see him shaking his head slightly. Did he notice me? I had no idea, and I really didn't want to know, he already hated me enough, I sure didn't need him to have more reasons to.

Without looking back, I made my way to shop and bought what I needed to buy.

I bought a drink for me, a drink for DK, and I know Namjoon said they were fine, but I still bought them all little snacks and a drink for later so they wouldn't forget to eat when they were working so hard.

Paying for everything, and putting them in a bag, I headed back to the station, wondering if anything had happened in the time I was gone.

When I did arrive back, after giving DK his drink, the only other person to arrive while I was gone was Detective Sleepy, aka, Min Yoongi.

His coffee was on his desk, and his head on resting on his arms like usual.

"Hello, I'm back" I giggled, and both Namjoon and Wonwoo smiled.

"Hello!"

I clicked my finger, and pointed to Yoongi and directed a question to the two other men.

"Sleeping?" All they did was a nod in reply. "I don't know why I asked" I laughed, and sat back down in the chair next to Wonwoo's desk. Placing the paper bag in my lap, I started to fish everything out.

"Now I know you guys said you didn't need anything, but I wanted to get something just in case you guys got too busy later" I placed four drinks, and four cartons of food onto the desk. "Now, I'm not sure what you guys liked so I picked a bunch of stuff and you can pick what you want to eat"

I heard Namjoon click his tongue, and come over and stand behind me, resting his hand on the back of the chair.

"Honestly, you spoil us" I laugh in response, and shake my head.

"It's okay honestly" I take my own drink from out of the bag and open it, taking a large gulp. "Now this will always be the best drink ever made," I say to myself, and Namjoon moves so he could see the can in my hand.

"Strawberry milk?"

"A gift given to us by the gods, the milk gods" Suddenly, a chuckle comes from Yoongi's corner of the room and we turn to see his head up off of his arms, and he's looking at us from above his computer screen.

"You're really something special you know that?" I laugh too.

"I know that, and thank you"

"Thank you for the coffee too, by the way, my favourite kind"

"I'm glad you like it" I smile at him, and he returns it.

"I love it" I continue to smile to myself, and Yoongi speaks up again. "I heard Wonwoo say you guessed our favourite types of coffee" I go to speak but get cut off before I can even start.

"She didn't guess, she asked DK about them last night" Seungcheol appears from the doorway, avoiding all eye contact with me, and sitting down at his desk.

"Did you really ask DK?" Namjoon asks, and I nodded.

"Yeah, I wanted to do something nice for you guys" I explain, shrugging slightly. "Sorry if you thought it was weird"

"It was weird" Seungcheol replies, his eyes focused on his computer.

"We didn't think it was weird," Namjoon says, sending a glare to Seungcheol, "Thank you for even considering getting us coffee in the morning" I smile sheepishly.

"It's okay"

The room soon turned to silence again, but not like last time, this time since Seungcheol was in the room it was different like there was an edge. I knew he didn't like me, like reporters, but this was just unnecessary, all I tried to do was be kind to them, and all he thought it was, was weird.

"Well we have a lot of work to do today," Namjoon says breaking the silence. "So let's get to it"

I sent a glare to Seungcheol's desk, as I was standing next to Namjoon. I hear him chuckle, and he turns to me, a coffee cup in hand.

"Nothing going to help by just standing there and glaring"

"Maybe if I concentrate enough his head will explode," I say, keeping my gaze on Seungcheol's desk.

"This isn't Star Wars-..."

"Star Trek" Namjoon sighs.

"Whatever, either way, nothing will get better by just standing here and trying to make his head explode with your mind"

"When you said he was a handful you weren't lying"

"I did warn you"

"I don't know what I expected, I should have seen it coming" I mumbled, running a hand through my hair.

"He'll warm up to you eventually..." Namjoons sighs "...hopefully,"

"I don't think you could warm him up if you lit his ass on fire" Yoongi appears beside me.

"Then what can I do to actually make him acknowledge me?" I ask, not really aiming the question at anyone.

"Not be a reporter?" Yoongi suggests.

"I'm not a reporter!"

"Are you sure about that?" Seungcheol suddenly butts in, looking over to us from just above his computer screen. "You're here to learn to be a reporter and how to not give the truth, whatever gets the views" his face shows no emotions, I cross my arms over my chest, as I feel my blood start to boil.

"I am here on placement to learn about how people act in a workplace and how I can write about it"

"Basically the same thing," Seungcheol rolls his eyes, and sends me a glare. "but you want to be a reporter right?"

"Why are you so stubborn?!"

"I'm not stubborn, I just know the facts!" I scoff a laugh and return his glare.

"Oh, you know the facts?" I fake laughter. "Hilarious"

"What's that supposed to mean?!"

"Moving between three departments in two months because of bad behaviour towards reporters?" I continue to fake laughter, but my glare instantly snaps back. "You're so great at the facts and how to act towards people, just brilliant" I roll my eyes and speak sarcastically.

"How did you know about all that?!"

"I do what 'reporters'..." I finger quote the word reporters, "do best, research"

"You're unbelievable" Seungcheol shakes his head, as he clicks his tongue.

"Oh, I'm unbelievable?"

"You are!" Seungcheol yells, and I roll my eyes.

"Believe what you want"

Before Seungcheol can go to talk again, Namjoon cuts in. This is the first time I've ever heard him yell.

"Goddamn! That's enough!" His face looked completely different to how it normally looked, His bright and caring smile replaced with annoyance and rage. "I don't care if you guys don't like each other, you're working together end of story!"

"I never said I didn't like him!" I stated, crossing my arms over my chest. "It pisses me off he treats me like I'm nothing"

Namjoon sends a look to Seungcheol, causing him to roll his eyes.

"Seungcheol..." Namjoon hisses and Seungcheol lets out a puff of annoyance.

"Fine, I'll work with you, but it doesn't mean I like you nor do I like that you're a reporter" Seungcheol mutters, keeping his eyes away from any of us.

"But-..." Namjoon cuts me off with a look, letting out a sigh, I nod. "Okay, that's fine"

"Let's all work nicely together because next time I won't be so nice about it" Namjoon glances between us, raising an eyebrow, almost like he was daring us to try and do or say something.

I just nod in response. I felt like my voice had disappeared, and that I couldn't utter a word.

"I have to go do something," Seungcheol told Namjoon, and he nodded quickly.

"Be back straight after"

"Okay" With that final word, Seungcheol left the room and disappeared for a while.

I didn't move for a moment or two, unsure of what to do or where to go. Namjoon sighed, placed his hand on my shoulder and looked at me.

"I'm sorry if I frightened you" I shook my head, finally looking up at him.

"You didn't frighten me, I'll admit it was sudden, but it didn't frighten me"

"Okay" Namjoon nodded, moving his hand he pointed to Seungcheol's desk. "You should probably sit next to his desk, it'll get easier soon"

"I will"

"You just gotta power through it, he'll warm up to you eventually trust me" I look to Namjoon, and tilt my head slightly.

"How are you so sure he will?"

"Because I know what Seungcheol's like, yes he's a bit stubborn and hard-headed, but he'll come to his senses" Namjoon explains, he moved his arms out to his sides, showing the room. "It took him a while to get used to being here, but he warmed up to it, so he'll warm up to you as well"

A small smile appeared on my face, as I nod. Grateful to Namjoon, even though I hadn't known him long, he always knew what to say to cheer me up- maybe that was because of his role as a detective, to make grieving families happier again, to make them not as sad and to tell them everything was going to be okay.

"Okay, thank you Namjoon"

"Anytime (Y/N), anytime"

"Why are you doing this?" The tears collected in her eyes. She was struggling at the rope that bound her wrists to the chair. "Why me?" Her breath sharpened as he took a step from out of the darkness.

The smirk she has seen when she first woke up in the strange place, was still present on his face.

His knees clicked as he bent down in front of her. He let out a soft sigh, and brought up his hand, brushing his fingers through her hair, picking up some that had stuck to her forehead as she sat in fear.

Next is a channeling fragment i wrote in 2017, thank u for reading.

‘‘Your taurus first house describes someone with strong qualities and really soft inside, just like your moon placement you're about to read next. Let me describe u a lil about the ascendent in astrology. The ascendent in astrology it symbolizes the body, the physical appearance, the vessel, the look, ancient ones relate it with the head, the first main part of the body, it's the first house just like the head when a baby is being born growing in its mother womb.l u know, all its starts with number 1, its the first house, and its rule by mars, planet of instinct body and action. ok. now you know the ascendent as the first house is the head and the physical body literally, but in this chart interpretation i’m focusing on giving ppl the no so literal interpretations of this, i'm gonna be sharing with you the personality side of the asc, cause rising signs speaks about personalities, in a very direct manner. it talks about our mask in the world, bc it’s the vessel of our spirit, the human self, the most natural instinctive animal side of us. so it talk about our mannerism, actions, nature, instinct, animalistic self, our image, first impression we give to others, literally and symbolically our presence in this place, it speaks about personality, the energies of our personality and how we act without even stopping to think. u see. it's like when someone is in autopilot mode, and it’s like really in the now, simply acting, and reacting, our ascendant's pops up when life is happening, for example now i'm going to describe this. like. the sun the ascendet the moon describes in this whole natal report the main portrait of somebody, i'm going to give u an example so u can understand your ascendet better. ex. somebody is walking by the street, they’re simply walking, they are going to a meeting with friends. this guy is walking, watching the sun, when ve una lata en su camino and he without thinking randomly patea la lata, the woman in the other street suddenly notice the sound and watch, this guy without noticing left a impression on her, she might think ‘oh he seems violent, he seems immature, why he didn't pic up the lata and through it away, or ohe he seems fun, love that sound he seems like a active, brave dude’. ok. his ascendant is in aries, aries is the warrior of the zodiac athe strong one’. he has left a first impression to somebody and also simply act like normally would, like in autopilot, that his ascendent. now you might see it better. his actions and impressions also talks about him and his personality even he don't really paying attention to what he does. bc the ascendet is the vessel our human self, that it’s part of nature, and the animal kingdom even if when we can argued that, its the body suit that we use for walking this earth and dress our spirit, that is our true self, if we understand this we can understand why is the body already intelligent for healing itself and act without being fully conscious of it, etc because it's in part animal, it has instincts and mannerisms, and because we have always being in this body suit, ‘already always dressed with same outfit body’ we have forget we are dressed, it's not easy to see us bc most of the time we feel one with our ego body human self, and we forget we are dressed, and we don't understand why we do something when we were not aware of doing it, why we cross the street to help that man when we don't even know it, why we cross the street because the were two mans that seems dangerous, why we avoid going places we don't like the smell of, and when we kiss and hold hands and go for a girl when her presence seems to call us, might be her pheromones invisible in the air that we detect, and felt ‘she was in good mood vibe’ for talking to her. it's our ascendet our animal side, and when we put our focus on our first house and physical appearance energy we understand why ppl act a certain way when they don't even know who we are, why we attract and repel others, because it's the present, the way we present with distractions actions without any words, it's like this self that ppl that are conocidos have of us, an impression.now that i have explain better to u the first house meaning i'm gonna describe your impression, the energies that seems to be written in your presence and that also literally describes your look appearance body and head, and eyes cause and nature, the way we act and go in autopilot through life ends up in a way describing our lifestyle and the story of our life, we are free to walk and go in life in any free direction we want, but it's an energy that we can never change, because it symbolizes our human, if we are ncanated in a human self body suit for our spirit that human energy will describe how we are going to go in life, when we are tapping in our most authentic natural in the now moment self ,in the end the kind of life we are going to live. do you have any tips on websites i can look on for figuring out my characters zodiac signs? (moon, fire, water and those stuff). i dont know where to look and on the sites i found its so complicated :( thank u!!

welllll if you aren’t really familiar with astrology i’d say to just make up a birth time/place for your character and put it in here and then you’ll have your answer. but if you don’t think those results fit your character and you want to make it more personalized, i’d say it’s worth it to firstly research each of the 12 signs a bit so that you gather their general traits and such, and then research about the different planets and houses in your chart (sun, moon, first house which is also rising/ascendant, mars, mercury, venus, etc.) and start trying to piece together what their placements would be. i know when i do this i might research a couple different moon placements or something (i.e. literally just google like ‘aquarius moon’ ‘ cancer moon’ ‘virgo rising’ etc.) and see if it fits. if you need further help, message me off anon!

oMGDF i already know ur chart is spicy, but scorpio/taurus is one of the most interesting sister sign combos to me. it’s one of those ones that have a real connection and usually when two different people respectively have them, they’re attracted to each other (not necessarily romantically, just they might click really well) the fact that your sun and rising oppose (but have that awesome connection) probably makes you initially come off much differently than your actual personality would suggest, and then when someone gets to know you it’s like meeting a whole different person. you probably come off very grounded but stubborn (your scorp sun also might suggest this as well because of all that aggressive mars influence), and i know for me personally i’m often intimidated by taureans so that also might apply. your cap moon probably enforces that as well (freaking earth signs, they’re always so resilient in their own way) i feel like this combo might make you seem really deadpan, maybe appreciate some black humor. and ur probably not afraid to stand up to anybody (*cowers in fear*) u wanted me to drag u but i’m sorry i’m mostly in awe

so like honestly i feel like a lot of that ^^^ would also apply to you? taurus suns are often intimidating to me because they come off as Too Cool 4 U but really they’re usually sweet and shy on the inside. i think your scorpio rising will also amplify that cool factor just because that placement is so ~Mysterious~ and like, people look at you and are just captivated by something. almost like you have a magnetic pull. scorpio rising is the most fascinating ascendant to me, that’s the reason i gave it to ramona (her heterochromia influenced it a lot too) i feel like you might be shy but secretly passionate and willing to put a lot of effort to that passion.

o0o0o0o i like this combo! it reminds me of my mom heheh. she’s a virgo sun/scorp moon and i feel like she also has an air rising, maybe libra tho

virgo/sagittarius is such a good match, like it’s weird but whenever i see those two signs together, especially in the form of different people, it’s always like a lasting bond. both virgo and taurus always seem to pair well with sag. you wouldn’t expect a virgo sun to be so ardent but sagittarius has a profound influence, and it’s interesting because virgos are often always looking for answers, and i think sagittarius would only make that need for reason even more so because sags find possibility in everything, especially as a moon placement. it’s one of my favorite moon signs (and not just because i have it too lmao) gemini rising in this mix is also very interesting because sag and gem are sister signs (opposites) (so many sister signs in these questions dang) and gemini rising is almost one of the most fitting rising signs to me for some reaso, especially with a virgo sun (both virgo and gem are ruled by mercury) because that makes you even MORE inquisitive and probably very friendly. people might consider you easy to talk to, and i bet you have a lot of intriguing things to say.

GOD okay so once Friday finally rolled around and i was actually IN NEW YORK!!!!!! we ( @jminsnose & i) got to the playstation theater before 8am bc they told us to line up then but we werent really even ready so we ran back to our place real fast and did a half ass makeup job (which just ended up melting off our faces anyways but thats besides the point) and got back by 8:30 and the line was almost at the end of the street. so once we waited there it started pouring rain but we were smart and brought an umbrella and bought cheap ass ponchos

this is all pointless honestly SO finally by like 12ish they finally took us around to where the ticket booth is (it was shaded from the rain tho tHANK @ GOD) for us to get our wristbands (we had p2 so we got the hi touch experience to “meet” them) but we didnt even get the wristbands until like 6.... ok

we barely ate anything this whole damn day either and had to stand ever since 8am because they literally told us we couldnt sit bc it was a “fire violation” or some bs. i really only had two bites of a muffin from starbucks and half a small bag of cheez its and a small bottle of water. dont ever do this its not healthy at ALL.
