You are Sabine Cheng. Your daughter isn’t sleeping. You hear her, sometimes, crying in her bed. Her clumsiness is getting worse—except instead of being inattentive, the way she used to be, she’s hyperattentive: any sudden sound makes her jump, makes her leap into a battle stance. She can’t look at the color white anymore without flinching, and she goes quiet at the sound of running water. You find her lovingly handmade puppets carefully torn apart, the fabric scraps squirreled away in corners where they can no longer be seen. She tenses whenever she sees a child blowing bubbles; she can’t watch the weather report without hugging herself so tight you fear she might burst.
You talk to the other parents in her class, commiserating about how Akuma have changed their children’s demeanors, but nobody’s story matches yours. Their children have triggers, certainly, but only one or two each. And for them, it is simple enough to be gentle, to help remove the triggers from the environment, to help their children laugh again. They are not watching their children waste away the way you are. They are not watching their children wither into dust. Your daughter has new triggers by the day, you can’t keep up, you can’t control her environment the way the other mothers and fathers can, because every day something different and unpredictable is too much for her.
You are Sabine Cheng, and your daughter is 14. You are Sabine Cheng, and your daughter cannot sleep. You are Sabine Cheng, and your daughter—your child, because she is a child still—acts like a war veteran.
You are Sabine Cheng, and you do not know what to do.

sabezra week: day 1: in-between
Tumblr media
during the decade in between, sabine helps the rebellion defeat the empire, but after the new republic is started, she's a rebel without a cause, until ahsoka suspects some force sensitivity in her and takes it upon herself to train her. after the death of sabine's family, ahsoka worries her grief will lead her down a dark path and stops training her. a rebel without a war, a mandalorian without a clan, and no longer a jedi- a keeper of the peace she's now trapped in- sabine spends most of her time on lothal, wondering if there's any way she can find ezra and bring him back home.
Tumblr media
during the decade in between, ezra finds the noti and joins their clan, initially communicating with them via the force, but eventually adapting to their language, and swapping stories with them to pass the time while he waits for sabine to bring him back home.

Sabine's loth cat, Murley, is nicknamed Cyar Kaysh Mirsh Solus [two mando'a phrases meaning: "beloved" and "his brain cell is lonely"] because of how much he reminds her of Ezra.
Anytime Ezra has a stupid idea, he hears a sarcastic little voice in the back of his head calling him out for it, and usually calling him a D'ikut, or some other Mando'a insult. That's part of why, when Sabine's with him again and makes a sarcastic and self-confident remark, all he can think to say is "I've missed you."
Sabine paints the walls in the tower on Lothal a lot, usually things that she knows Ezra won't mind when he gets back, but occasionally one or two things that'll annoy him in a half-sincere attempt to spite him out of hiding.
Ezra attempts to learn to draw/paint so that he can impress Sabine when she finds him. A lot of his early attempts were horrible, but by the time she gets there, he's quite good for someone with his limited resources, and he has a not-too-bad mural of the ghost crew etched in the wall of his mobile home.
Though she wouldn't even admit it to herself, part of the reason Sabine wanted to become a Jedi was to find a connection to Ezra though the Force.
Part of the reason Ezra worked on his proficiency in combat without lightsabers was because he half-expected Sabine to have lost his lightsaber over the course of their separation.
Sabine's family noticed how downtrodden she was at losing Ezra and asked about him, but she told them she didn't have feelings for him. Tristan asks her about it later, and and she tells him the truth, but her secret dies with him a couple days later.
Ezra tells the Noti all kinds of stories about what happened before he got to Perida. Naturally, their favorite stories are the ones that he seems the most excited when he's telling, so they ask him a lot to tell him stories about his friend Sabine.
Jacen loves hearing stories about his ghost crew family. One time while Sabine's watching him, they sit at the table drawing while she tells a story about his Uncle Ezra. Jacen, without even looking up from his coloring page, asks Sabine if she loved him. She's a little startled and deflects the question, but in that moment, she almost said yes. She hadn't even told herself that until that moment.
The language the Noti speak is a little different from basic. It throws Ezra for a loop when one of them asks to hear about his "girl friend Sabine" until he realizes that the Noti word for a romantic partner is completely different, and they were merely referring to his friend, Sabine, who is a girl. He has to admit though, he likes the sound of that phrase.

🇺🇸: I was trying to make Marinette look closer to some older concept arts, more specifically the ones from the PV and (mainly) from Quantic Kids (Pictures below).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also wanted to distinguish her civilian hair from her hair in hero form, that's why I'm thinking of keeping her classic pigtails in her hero form (because I like the way it mimics little wings), while going for one of the 2 options for her civilian form. Which option do you think fits her most? I'm more inclined to go with the second option because, although it is way closer to the classic pigtails, I think first option is way too close to Socqueline's hairstyle (which I intend to keep the same)... I'm also unsure about the shirt color (in this clothes in specific, that she'll probably be wearing at home) and the eye color (but I'll probably go with dark grey since it's Sabine's eye color too). In the future I might also change ladybug's bangs to make them a bit more different. But what do you guys think? Which is the best option for each thing, having those details in mind? (Specially about the hair)

A little late but! Some Kanera for @monthly-challenge Februfluff day 16: caretaking
Ever since Malachor, Kanan had spent a lot of time up at odd hours. A combination of nightmares, lingering pain from his wounds, and painkillers had seen him up in the wee hours of the morning while he was recovering. Even now that things were getting back to normal, he still woke up at random hours.
Some nights he went back to sleep. Others he meditated, either in his room or out on the far edge of the base.
And other nights, like tonight, the restless energy was too much for him. So he got up, slipping out of his room quietly so as to not wake any of the others on board the Ghost.
Kanan’s goal was the kitchen, as it usually was. Sometimes he’d make caf or tea, other times he’d make himself something to eat. Ezra had joined him a few times lately, so as he made his way down the hallway, he listened carefully.
He didn’t hear anything immediately. But as he entered the lounge, he sensed a familiar presence, and it wasn’t Ezra.
“Hera?” he asked, keeping his voice low as he frowned.
“Kanan?” Surprise colored her voice, and he heard her set down what sounded like a datapad. “What are you doing up?”
“Couldn’t sleep,” Kanan said, crossing the room to stand in front of the table she was sitting at. Letting his fingertips brush the tabletop, grounding himself, he said, “Is it the same for you, or have you just not gone to sleep yet?”
Her hesitation answered the question for him, and Kanan held back a wince. Hera had always had a habit of working long hours, from the first day he’d met her. It had only grown worse since they’d joined the Rebellion. And these days it had reached a fever pitch. “When was the last time you got a full night’s sleep?” he asked.
“When was the last time you did?” Hera countered, and Kanan couldn’t hold back a grin.
“That’s different,” he said. “I’m at least trying. You’ve been up since crazy early this morning— you need rest, Hera. We need you operating at your best.”
He heard her sigh— a sigh that he recognized well. It was the stubborn one, that meant she had no intentions of listening to him. “What we need is more people in this Rebellion. Until then, I’m what we’ve got. The longer I let these things slide, the worse it’ll get.”
She’s definitely not gonna listen to me. Plan B, then. “Okay,” Kanan said with a sigh. “I’m going to make something to drink. You want something?”
“Yes, please,” Hera murmured, her voice distracting as she tapped at her datapad. Already back to work. Kanan grimaced as he headed into the kitchen. This wasn’t going to be easy.
It took him a few minutes to locate the kettle— someone had moved it from its usual place. Filling it with water, he set it on the stove and started sorting through the tea boxes in the cupboard.
Sabine had recently gone through the cupboards and relabelled everything. She’d used a Morse code inspired system of raised dots and dashes, so Kanan could still read the labels. It was still taking a little getting used to, but it certainly helped with baking. Or, in this case, locating tea.
It wasn’t long before he found the teabags he was looking for— Chandrilan tea, fairly well known for its soothing quality that helped with sleeplessness. Leaving them on the counter, he grabbed two mugs from the cupboard just as the kettle started to whistle. He was pretty certain that he’d gotten the right mugs— he and Hera had drunk caf together enough times that blind or not, Kanan would know the shape and feeling of her favorite one in his hand anywhere.
Setting them down, he carefully filled them with hot water from the kettle, and added the teabags. Leaving them to steep for a while, he went to the other side of the kitchen and started digging through the fridge. While it wasn’t absolutely necessary to his plan, Kanan was pretty sure it had been a while since Hera had eaten— thinking back, he didn’t remember her being there with them at dinner. Internally, he cursed. I’ve been way too distracted lately. That stops now.
He almost got out the ingredients for waffles— but if he did, there was no way Ezra wouldn’t be out here in less than five minutes. His apprentice had an uncanny ability to sense when Kanan was making waffles, and the last thing he needed was more people up right now. The current goal was to get Hera to sleep, not keep her awake longer.
So instead, he pulled out a container of leftover chicken pot pie and heated that up. Filling a bowl with it, he stopped to collect their two mugs and a fork, and headed back out to the lounge.
Hera was still absorbed in her datapad, and didn’t notice as Kanan set the bowl, then the mug in front of her. Kanan paused for a minute, then said, “Hera?”
“Hmm?” Her voice was distracted, and Kanan sighed.
“Sorry about this.” Reaching out, he plucked the datapad out of her hands.
“Wha— Kanan!”
Tucking the pad under his arm, Kanan reached out with the other hand and pushed the bowl in front of her. “Eat,” he said firmly. “And have some tea. I’ll give it back when you’ve finished.”
“Kanan—”
“Hera,” Kanan said, his voice a little more forceful. “Just do it.”
There was a brief pause, and Kanan could picture the struggle in Hera’s eyes. Finally, she let out a long sigh. “Fine. But I’m getting back to work after that.”
Kanan chose not to comment on that. Instead, he settled next to her with his own mug. Listening to the sound of the fork clinking against the bowl, he sipped his tea, letting the silence settle around them.
It was a little while before Hera spoke. “Thank you,” she said quietly.
Kanan smiled into his mug. “Any time, Hera. Have you drunk your tea yet?”
Letting out a huff, Hera said, “You know, you’re awfully hover-y tonight, Master Jedi.”
“Making up for lost time, Captain Hera.”
“I’m glad.” Her response was softer, a little warmer, and Kanan felt her shift a little closer to him, shoulder bumping against his.
There was a brief silence, then Hera said, “So, what’s it gonna take for me to get that datapad back?”
Kanan laughed. “Tell you what. You drink your tea, and I'll let you have your datapad back.”
“Datapad first,” Hera said. “And don’t think I don’t know what you’re doing, dear. It’s not going to work.”
Handing her the pad, Kanan said innocently, “I don’t know what you mean.”
“Uh-huh.”
As Hera leaned forward, picking up the mug of tea, Kanan slid nearer to her, closing the distance between them. She didn’t protest, nestling in the crook of his shoulder with a quiet sigh. Kanan wrapped her arm around her shoulders, and they settled into an easy silence.
The next little while passed by peacefully, with Hera working at her datapad and Kanan keeping her company. However, as time ticked by and Hera finished her tea, he could sense her getting more and more tired. The sound of her tapping at the datapad was less frequent, and he heard her stifle multiple yawns.
Gently, he brushed his fingertips up and down her arm, a repetitive, soothing stroke that was sure to lull her to sleep. It was one of his most surefire tactics, and it didn’t disappoint. Kanan felt her head bump against his shoulder before pulling upwards again. “I know what you’re doing,” she mumbled, her voice heavy with sleepiness.
Silently, Kanan reached out with the Force just in time to catch the datapad that slipped from Hera’s fingers. “I know,” he murmured as her head dropped against his shoulder. “You can yell at me tomorrow.”
“Sounds good.” Her words trailed off into an incomprehensible hum, and Kanan smiled. It was only seconds later that he felt her breathing even out into the slow rhythm of sleep.
“Sleep well, Captain Hera,” he whispered, pressing a kiss against her temple before closing his own eyes. He had a feeling nightmares wouldn’t bother him here.

Princess Lenora and The Starboy
A Sabine Wren & Ezra Bridger Fairytale
Tumblr media
Story Summary: A younger Sabine listens to an old fairytale told by her father, Alrich Wren.
~ the Princess ~
"Sabine, please do be careful up here. The steps are treacherous," called Alrich Wren to his daughter. The mountain path was relatively easy for the average Mandalorian, having been scouted and paved generations prior, but Alrich was not from the warrior class - and he was feeling that fact more and more with every step up the mountain.
It feels like someone poured sand into my joints, he thought grimly as he clambered over another low rock. By the Force was he thankful that Ursa was not here to witness this. She'd never let him live it down.
Sabine, all of eight years old, turned around and rolled her eyes at him. Her hair was cut short, similar to how her mother styled it, barely brushing past the nape of her neck and dyed a striking magenta color (much to her mother's disapproval). She wore a gray combat suit tailored to her scrawny frame, sans the armor plating that was custom to Mandalorian warriors. Sabine was not yet of age to receive her birthright, as was customary to all Mandalorian younglings, but it was coming soon.
"I think you should be worried more about yourself, Father," replied Sabine. "I'm doing just fine by myself."
Alrich wiped the sweat from his brow. The weather on Krownest was at its warmest for this season which, honestly, didn't mean much to anyone who lived here. It just meant that the cold was less biting than usual. "Remind me why you're here again," he said, throwing a stern look at his daughter.
Sabine shrugged. "For moral support, of course," she said with a cheerful smile.
"Uh-huh," he said dryly. "And not because you want to skip out on your studies again."
She crossed her arms - a gesture that reminded him violently of his wife. Sabine was more like her mother than either were willing to admit, which probably explained why they butted heads often. Alrich couldn't help but smile at her.
"Studies are boring," Sabine complained. "I'm going to ace it all, anyway."
Alrich sighed. It was true, of course. Sabine was a child prodigy, blessed with intelligence and aptitude towards any subject she put her mind to. The problem wasn't with her mind, her parents noted. It was with her attitude and rebellious demeanor.
In these dark times, it meant trouble.
"That's not the point of your studies, Sabine," he said. "It's a matter of discipline."
"Discipline is also boring," she countered.
This was not an argument he was going to win. Alrich shook his head and kept hiking forward until he finally caught up with his daughter. With an exasperated sigh, he fondly ruffled Sabine's hair.
"Father," she whined. "Don't mess up my hair, please."
Alrich grinned and began to put more vigor into his ruffling when he spotted something from the corner of his eye: a patch of white flowers, bursting up from the frost.
"A-ha," he said. "We've found it."
Sabine frowned and turned to follow his gaze. "Flowers? That's what we came all this way for?"
Alrich stepped forward, his footfalls crunching heavily in the snow. "Not just any flower, Sabine," he said. "Come, get a closer look."
She did and her eyes widened in recognition. "Lenora flowers," she said. "From the fairytale? These are real?"
"Of course they're real," said Alrich. "And unique to Krownest. These flowers don't grow anywhere else in the entire galaxy."
Sabine sat down to study them more closely. Her brown eyes sparkled with interest. "What makes them so special?"
Alrich sat next to her, grateful for the momentary rest. "Lenora flowers can grow in the adverse conditions of Krownest. Even during the harshest of winters, they continue to thrive. To our people, they are symbolic of unwavering loyalty and perseverance."
Sabine glanced at him. "And love?"
He nodded. "Yes. That is why they're your mother's favorite. I gift these to her every anniversary."
The look his daughter gave him turned sly. "And whenever you upset her, I gather. Because today is not your anniversary."
Alrich coughed to hide his embarrassment. "That's nonsense," he replied. "I was just feeling in the mood."
She grinned at him. "Your secret is safe with me, Father."
He patted her on the knee. "Good girl."
Alrich turned his attention back to the patch of flowers. "Do you remember the fairytale, Sabine? Princess Lenora and the Starboy?"
Sabine scrunched her face, thinking. "Vaguely. Were there star whales involved?"
Alrich smiled, pleased. It had been some time since she had last heard the fairytale. "Yes, there was. Would you like to hear the whole story again? We have time to spare before we need to head back."
His daughter gave him a knowing look. "And you want to rest your knees some more, too."
He laughed. "Ah, Sabine. Sharp as always."
She smiled at him. "Go on, then. Tell me the story."
~ a long time ago ~
As you know, Sabine, Lenora flowers are named after our distant ancestor, Princess Lenora. Legends say that she was the first leader of Clan Wren, and our family are descended directly from her line.
A long time ago, however, Princess Lenora and her people were not living on Krownest - they were fleeing a heavy conflict from another world, seeking a new home. That conflict had devastated their home world to the point that it could no longer sustain life and, fearing for the future of her clan, the Princess gathered the remaining survivors and they fled to the stars.
A few ten thousand souls were all that remained and their lives were in the young Princess' hands. She was strong, brave, and fierce - a running theme in all Clan Wren women, I've noted - but the galaxy tested her and her people to their limits.
No world would accept them. They could find no refuge anywhere. What little valuables they had taken with them were bargained away for food and water and fuel. And, with enough time passed, those began to run out.
Her people starving, homeless, and beginning to lose hope, caused the Princess to grow dispirited. One late night, after hearing the crying of her people, she called out to the stars - begging, pleading for anyone or anything to help.
And the Starboy answered.
Those born from the stars, Sabine, are special; their hearts are made from pure kyber. But they could be fickle folk, too, prone to pranks, thievery, and other mischievous acts. Dealing with them meant that one had to be careful. They were tricksters, capable of performing great feats of magick.
The Princess knew this. Making a deal with the Starboy was an act of pure desperation and could lead to disaster down the line - but her people were in need of salvation.
"I will help you, dear Princess," offered the Starboy. "I can find your people a new home. But you must offer me something in return to match the value of my talent."
"We have no valuables left to bargain with," the Princess replied. "What would you have of us?"
The Starboy thought about this for a while. He had no interest in physical possessions - but he was very lonely. There were very few of his people left; he could not recall the last time he had seen another starborne.
He realized what he desired from the Princess: companionship. Someone to stay by his side, always.
So, the Starboy made his offer. "I would ask for your friendship, in exchange for my help."
Surprised, the Princess nevertheless reached out her hand. "I accept," she said.
And henceforth, the duo journeyed together with her people amongst the stars to find a new home.
The Starboy knew that the deal struck between him and the Princess would end the moment they found a suitable planet for her people, so he sought to delay the ending as much as possible. Using his magick to keep feeding her people and fueling their ships, the Princess didn't mind - and even grew to love the Starboy, despite his antics.
The adventures they had all over the galaxy were the stuff of legend, Sabine: they saw planets made of smoke and song; met various aliens of indescribable beauty and absurdity; sailed through fields of endless ice and light. The Starboy delighted in showing the Princess and her people the endless wonders of the galaxy.
One day, they came across a pod of star whales, stuck in a vast maze of shifting star dust. With the Starboy's magick and the Princess' ingenuity, they led the lost star whales out to safety.
Grateful, they pledged to return the favor one day, should they ever ask. But, to the Starboy, they left a warning: a great Witch had arrived from the deep space beyond their galaxy and sought the Starboy for his power. Someday, they warned, the Witch would find him and destroy all he held dear in order to obtain his power.
After the star whales departed the Starboy grieved, for he knew that his time with the Princess and her people was soon nearing its end. With a heavy heart, he delayed no longer and led them to a new world - one that, in time, would be known as Krownest.
The Princess and her people were overjoyed at the sight of their new home. They thanked the Starboy for his help with celebrations of song and food. But the Starboy could not accept their gratitude, as he was too burdened with sadness at his imminent departure.
Their deal was concluded - and danger was coming. The Starboy had fallen in love with the Princess and her people. To keep them safe, he decided to leave quietly in the dead of night.
But Princess Lenora stopped him. "Do not go," she said. "Stay with us. This is your home, too."
"Our deal is finished," replied the Starboy. "I have done as requested. You have no need of me anymore. And the Witch is coming."
The Princess reached out and grasped his hand. "Then make a new deal with me. Stay with us. We will defeat this Witch together. And when we do so, you must give something to me."
"I have no personal possessions," said the Starboy, smiling. "No valuables on my person. What would you have of me?"
"Give me your heart, Starboy," replied the Princess. "And stay by my side, forevermore."
She reached out her hand. Instead, however, the Starboy gave her a hug, glad to have a companion at last.
But it was not meant to be, Sabine. For the Witch arrived the very next day and brought war with her.
Princess Lenora and her people were the finest Mandalorians the galaxy had ever seen. They fought with everything they had for three days and three nights. The surface of Krownest became battle-scarred and burned; the Witch's magick brought about an endless frost that still plagues our home to this day.
Despite the bravery of Princess Lenora and her clan, they could not win the battle. The Starboy, his heart breaking at their courage despite the overwhelming odds, concocted a final plan to trick the Witch.
On the fourth day, the Starboy offered himself up to the Witch. Eager to devour his heart and obtain the source of his power, she ripped open his chest -
Only to find it empty.
"Where is it?" she hissed at him, furious to be deprived of her prize. "Where is your heart, Starboy?"
"I have given it to another, Witch!" yelled the Starboy in response. "It will never be yours!"
The Witch howled in fury and began to reach for her magick to punish Princess Lenora and her people -
With a final effort of magick, the Starboy called to the star whales -
And they came to his side in a flash of starlight. "We have come to repay the favor," they said.
"Take this Witch back to whence she came!" said the Starboy.
"It shall be done," the star whales answered. And they surrounded the Witch, their arms reaching around her, tightening and tightening. From the ground below, the people cheered - except for Princess Lenora. She leapt into a ship and flew out to meet the Starboy, still clutched in the Witch's grasp.
"Come home with me!" she cried out. "You promised to stay with me, Starboy!"
But the Starboy looked at his beloved Princess and shook his head. "I must go and see this through, Princess. I have to make sure the Witch never comes back to hurt your people."
The star whales began to glow with a fearsome light, signaling their departure into the deep reaches beyond our galaxy. The Witch howled and struggled but could not escape their grip.
The Princess cried out one last time: "You must promise to come back. I will wait for you; do you hear me?"
The Starboy smiled at her, possibly for the last time. "I accept this deal, Princess. A part of me will always be with you, until I return."
With a final burst of dazzling light, the star whales vanished into space, leaving behind a trail of stardust. And with them, the Starboy and the Witch.
In the years to come, the Princess waited patiently for her beloved Starboy to return. His heart, given to her as per their deal, was buried on a distant mountain top to keep safe. Every night, she travelled to the spot where his heart lay and sat down, looking up at the night sky.
She watched the stars wheel endlessly above. Every now and then, one of them twinkled at her; the Princess wondered sadly if that was the Starboy, letting her know that he was still out there.
When many years had passed, and she began to lose hope, the Princess wandered up to where the Starboy's heart was buried and found a patch of beautiful flowers growing there. Upon seeing them, she made a vow: that as long as the flowers bloomed on Krownest, the love she shared with the Starboy would never die - and that one day, they would be reunited, forevermore.
~ the Princess, revisited ~
Alrich watched his daughter carefully, gauging her reaction to the story's end.
Sabine stared at the flowers, seemingly lost in thought. He chanced a glance at his chrono - the hour was growing late. They needed to head back soon.
Finally, after a few long moments, Sabine spoke. "Lenora was stupid," she remarked.
He blinked at her, shocked at her response. "What?" he asked.
Sabine stood up and wiped angrily at her legs, clearing off loose snow and dirt. "You heard me. She was stupid."
Alrich quirked an eyebrow at her. "How so?"
"She waited. Like an idiot. I wouldn't have waited."
"Ah," said Alrich, understanding dawning on him. "I see. You would have gone to find the Starboy."
Sabine reached down to the patch and plucked one of the Lenora flowers. She handed it over to Alrich, who accepted it with a nod of thanks. "Obviously. She loved him! Why wait?"
He stroked at his beard and gently placed the flower into a pouch on his belt; later, he would press it into a bookmark for Ursa. "Hmmm. You raise a fair point, Sabine."
His daughter shook her head. "I can't believe that's how the story ends."
Alrich smiled at his daughter. "That's the wonderful thing about stories, you know? When you tell it, you can decide how the story ends."
Sabine looked at him, blinking in astonishment. "Really?"
"Certainly. That's how the story was told to me. But you can change the ending, if you want." He stood up, swiping at his legs to clean them. Once finished, he beckoned to her and started walking down the mountain path leading back to home.
Sabine was quiet for the next few minutes, thinking it over. "I think I know how I want the story to end," she said as they walked.
Alrich glanced at her, curious. "Tell me, then. Tell me how your story ends."
Smiling slightly, Sabine began to speak. "One day, a wise and powerful wizard brings a map to the Princess . . ."
Epilogue (many years later)
~ the Starboy, found ~
The Noti convoy moved slowly under the bleak Peridea sky. It was a scene that Ezra Bridger had become accustomed to over the past few years but there was a significant difference to this time.
Sabine Wren, his longtime friend, had come to find him at last. After double-checking the instrument panel on the Noti hover-dome to ensure everything was working properly, he snuck another glance at Sabine just to ensure that she was actually there.
Ezra had lost count the number of times he had dreamed this exact scenario: Sabine Wren, coming to save him, like some avenging Mandalorian angel.
But it wasn't a dream this time. She was real. Her head was leaned back, eyes closed, arms crossed, boots propped up on the dome's surface - it was almost like back in the old days, lounging on the Ghost during the Rebellion.
He felt a soft smile grow on his face at the sight of her. How much he had missed her company.
Sensing his stare, Sabine popped open an eye and smiled back at him. "Thinking happy thoughts?" she asked.
"Hard not to," he replied. "They're all about you."
Her smile widened. "Ah, flattery. You're a flirt now, Ezra Bridger?"
Ezra's cheeks flushed. "Oh, well - no. Not very many people to flirt - well, talk, really with here on Peridea."
Sabine chuckled. "The Noti seem nice."
"They are," agreed Ezra. "But not exactly the most interesting species to hold a conversation with."
"Well," remarked Sabine, "it's nice to know that I'm good for something. Other than rescuing helpless Jedi."
Ezra snorted. "Oh, I've missed you."
Sabine grinned at him. "Back at you, goober."
Rolling his eyes, Ezra reached down and rummaged through his pack. After a brief moment of searching, he found what he was looking for: an old storybook.
With a grin, he plopped it on Sabine's lap. "Found this, by the way."
She let out a breath of surprise. "'Princess Lenora and the Starboy?'" she asked. "Where in the stars did you find this?"
"Thrawn had it. Long story, but I stole it from his office. Part of his weird museum of collectibles."
Sabine snorted and flipped through the pages. "It's still your favorite, right?" asked Ezra.
"Yeah," she replied softly. "Never dreamed that I'd actually meet real life star whales. Or travel to another galaxy, even."
"We've had pretty crazy lives, now that I think about it," Ezra observed.
"Yeah, no kidding," said Sabine. A pang of melancholy went through her as she read through the story; her father reading this to her, late at night, flashed vividly in her memories.
"Didn’t like the ending," said Ezra. "We never did find out if the Princess and the Starboy ever reunited."
Sabine closed the book. "They did reunite," she said. "That's how I told the story."
Ezra looked at her. "Is that so?"
She nodded. "My father told me that if you don't like the story's ending, then just change it. So that's what I did."
Ezra shook his head and smiled at her. "That's so very . . . you, Sabine."
Sabine shrugged. "Who else am I supposed to be?"
He laughed. "True. I wouldn't have it any other way."
She grinned and leaned back in her seat. "You're not getting it any other way, Ezra. I'm afraid you're stuck with me."
"Oh, good," he replied dryly. After a brief pause, he added quietly, "Thanks for finding me, Princess."
For a moment, he thought Sabine hadn't heard him. Then, just as quietly, Ezra heard her answer.
"Anything for you, Starboy."

Ranking the Miracucast by good they are at playing UNO
Marinette: She has a strategy. She plays to win. Her family has been playing UNO since before Marinette was in nursery school. She is ruthless and takes no chances. There are no allies in UNO. ...She still ends up losing more often than not because that's just how UNO is. 7/10
Alya: She's mostly just at the table for fun, and really enjoys how into it her friends get. 4/10
Adrien: Yes. 10/10
Nino: You would not expect this man to be good at UNO. But everyone just kind of... ignores him? He just casually goes along causing no drama, until he's the first person to call "UNO!" and everyone wheels around in their seats to face him with shocked looks on their faces. Adrien, however, can see right through Nino's facade and the moment Nino says "UNO!" both of them know that it's on like Donkey Kong. 9/10
Chloe: She has no idea whatsoever how to play, but she refuses to lose to Marinette. There is drama. There is house rules. There is drama about house rules. But they keep inviting Chloe back to the table because when she plays she also *hosts* the game at Le Grand Paris, and while they may not be good at much the Bourgeois family DOES know how to host events better than anyone else. 5/10
Sabrina: Initially didn't participate and was just there to act as Chloe's valet. Then one day she joined the table and curbstomped everyone, then went back to helping set up the snacks like it never happened. This has happened a couple times since then, and nobody understands it. Adrien and Nino have begged her to teach them, and she acts like she doesn't know what they're talking about. The only person to ever match Sabrina in a game of UNO was Marinette's mother Sabine, and all the players that were involved in that game signed an NDA stating they can't reveal who won. I have no justification for any of this, but I can feel it in my bones. 11/10
Mylene: Surprisingly vicious, but experienced players have no difficulty dispatching her. 6/10
Ivan: Unfortunately he is not very good at this game. There was one time he actually won though, with a pretty good strategy, and his smile was brighter than the sun. Since then everyone has wanted him to win again, but none of them are willing to sacrifice their own chances of victory for it. Ivan doesn't mind. He's just happy to be included. 2/10
Rose: Everyone expects her to be secretly good at this game for some reason. She doesn't understand why. She's pretty average at the game, but enjoys when she plays a card normally and everyone else glances around in a panic. This is fun! 4/10
Juleka: By herself she's a little better than average, but she's a real menace when Luka is also in the room. She knows all his tells and micro-expressions, and since Luka is Luka (see below) that means she knows everything. There have been talks of banning the Couffaine Twins from playing in the same round as each other, but such a ban was pretty impossible to enforce. 8/10 by proxy
Kim: In regular UNO he's a complete failure, but when the group is playing with large amounts of house rules he starts doing really really well. Not on purpose. Most of the time, however, he just shows up to eat snacks and arm wrestle with Ivan in the background while everyone else plays. 3/10
Max: Like with every game he's played, he knows ALL the strategies. Card percentages, color probabilities, the works. He should, by all accounts, be an expert at this game. But he does not understand the Heart Of The Cards and so he keeps losing. 6/10
Alix: Is definitely cheating. All the time. Everyone knows it. And it hurts, because Alix is legitimately good at the game too. Her classmates are begging for a regular game, but she just loves seeing what weird stuff she can get away with. Alix/10
Nathaniel: He wasn't particularly interested in the game originally, but then someone (Chloe maybe?) commissioned him to make a massive custom deck with original art based on the superheroes. Since he makes the cards, he somehow also became the judge on what can and cannot become a permanent house rule, since that often leads to new cards being made. He's still really awful at the game itself, but everyone showers him with praise and view his title as Deck Keeper as worthy of unparalleled respect. And since he made the cards, he's the only one capable of countering Heart Of The Cards bullcrap. 5/10
Lila: Has literally never played UNO before, though she will never admit it. 0/10
Luka: The jury's still out on whether or not his inner music hyper-empathy counts counts as cheating or not. Since they can't prove he's using it to know what everyone is feeling about their cards and plays, he's still permitted at the table. But the fact remains that he's very good at this the game. 8/10
Kagami: She has absolutely no idea what she is doing. The amount of cards in her hand sometimes gets so large Felix or Adrien has to provide one of their hands to help hold them. But she is also having the most fun she's had in a long, long time. So let's focus on the positives, shall we? -10/10
Marc: He swears the deck is not rigged in his favor. Nathaniel asserts there's no way he COULD rig the deck in Marc's favor, and Max ran the numbers to prove it. But somehow every time the group starts a new round Marc draws his cards and yup full of wild cards again. 6/10
Ondine: This was Kim's idea of a date. Ondine was not impressed. But she did stay for the snacks, and at least gave it the old college try. UNO just isn't her vibe, and that's okay. 1/10
Aurore: Doesn't usually play with everyone else, but she DOES know how to play, and one time she was asked to join a game when most of the group was unavailable and they needed more players. It was a bit awkward because she's a big Adrien fangirl and is used to playing with a different set of house rules, but they made it work, and fun was had. 4/10
Felix: He tries. He tries so hard. Everyone was wary when he joined the table, but there fears were unfounded because Felix is absolutely pathetic at UNO. He has the rules memorized. He keeps track of all the house rules meticulously, which interestingly means he's very good at keeping the game running smoothly. Everyone turns to him when there's uncertainty about a particular situation. But he just can not win. Ever. He doesn't even get close. He's managed to call "UNO" a grand total of once in his lifetime, and that was because the rest of his cards ended up in Kagami's hand instead somehow. It's awful. It's mortifying. He's a chess prodigy, an expert tactician, how has he been reduced to this? 1/10
Zoe: Was really excited to play, and let out a squeal of joy when she saw Nath's custom cards. She knows how to play really well, and was really quick on the uptake when it came to all the house rules, too. Since she's around technically the group no longer needs Chloe to host, but Chloe took that as a challenge to be an EVEN. BETTER. HOST. Zoe is not complaining, less work for her. And she still beats he sister most of the time, so it's all good. 7/10

The Girl You Once Knew
Tumblr media
Summary: You find the girl you once knew after years of forgetting
FEM-READER X SHIN HATI
Requested
Warnings: Slight cursing, mentions of s*uicide, Star Wars violence, slight smut, some praising, knee riding (R receiving)
Y/ls/c: Your lightsaber color
Y/h/c: Your hair color
Y/s/c: Your skin color
~~~~~~~~~
You don’t know how long it has been since you’ve seen her, nor do you know where she’s been.
Sabine had been attacked and you weren’t there to see it and help, you were hanging out with Hera and her son Jacen.
Ahsoka had contacted you to hurry to Lothal ASAP since Sabine was in a troubled state. You waisted no time to hurry into your ship and fly to Lothal. You and Sabine were very close best friends, you were never apart of the rebels because you were always with Ahsoka, since you’re her padawan.
Ahsoka was very ennobled to have you by her side, she found you stranded on Aris. You told her you were kidnapped years ago but was never found and never found a way off the planet. Ahsoka was astounded to see you alive, though we’re you close to starvation. She sensed something in you, the force was strong in you, she nearly recognized it’s power.
Later that day, the day you we’re supposed to be watching Heras son but found yourself in a medical room on Lothal, standing in front of your best friend. Sabine had been struck in the torso by a lightsaber, Huyang had told you.
You asked Ahsoka and Huyang who attacked Sabine, they said the person was a girl with blonde hair and feral eyes, a orange lightsaber was held in hand, she had a brawny stance. You also asked Ahsoka of her eye color, she said she didn’t get a good enough look to tell, since it was dark.
Now, you sat in a chair, face in hands and overthinking if it was really her…
“You’re overthinking again young one,” Huyang spoke up. “Mhm,” you hummed.
“You should get some rest, you’ve just been sitting there staring off into the palm of your hands.” You looked up with a glare.
“Y/n, tell me what’s wrong.” Ahsoka provoked. You sighed, not wanting to tell your master why the bother.
“Y/n.”
“I’m just worried about Sabine is all.”
Ahsoka wasn’t convinced but she didn’t push it. She waited for you to speak first. “Fine, I-I think I know who the person that attacked Sabine.”
“Go on.” Ahsoka nodded.
“The way you described her is different but- I still know it’s her, I sensed her in the force on my way here.” You paused, “her name was Shin, Shin Hati. She was a um…”
A friend? A Best friend? A Home? A Lover…?
She was your only hope when you were younger. Living Surviving on the stranded planet Aris with Shin. You found home and love in her, she was your ‘safe place’ you called her. She called you ‘My light’, you were the light to her dark. It seems cliché but it really had meaning between you two.
After years of surviving together, Shin was taken away from you. Well, I wouldn’t put it that way, Shin left you for power. A man named Baylan came along one evening, he said he sensed something in both you and Shin.
The Force.
You didn’t trust him, he seemed off.
Like there was a dark portal surrounding him, you felt like a black mass was wafting over you. You didn’t feel safe then, you definitely didn’t feel safe when Shin trusted him.
You convinced Shin to stay, to not leave you. But she marked her words.
“If you won’t go, I will.” And with that she left.
“Uhm…a friend, we were very close. We both were stranded on Aris, we built a home in each other. Until a man took her away.” Tears filled up in your eyes, it may have been years but it still damn hurts.
“A man?” Huyang wondered.
“Yeah, he was tall with a bushy beard. He had a hooded cloak covering his shadow. He took her away from me, he took…my Shin.”
Then the tears dropped.
You tensed when Ahsoka put a hand on your shoulder. “We will find her, and we’ll find the map on our journey too.” You relaxed at those words.
“W-what if we don’t find her? Or the map?” “No what if’s, that will slow you down more my padawan.”
Ahsoka was right. The more you overthink It would just bring you down. Ahsoka knew when you’d overthink how you would always give up since that’s how you grew up, doubting yourself.
That’s why you and Sabine got a long, both of you would end up giving up and talk to each other about it.
Ahsoka knew better from you, she knows how you’ll always put up a challenge only to break and forget.
You always think you are a failure to her but all she says is; “There is no such thing as failure”
You can’t help but deny her words.
As you were waiting for Sabine to get ready after she was healed more, all you could think were the possibilities of you encountering Shin. And how you think she’ll hate you for not joining her.
“Shin will be okay Y/n. There’s no need to fear.”Ahsoka spoke wisely, and all you could do was nod.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
You stumbled upon Shin for the first time in years. Ahsoka, Huyang, Sabine and you found Shin and her master, along with a witch named Morgan Elsbeth.
You’ve heard the name before, Hera had mentioned her. You haven’t been sure of what power witches had, but you’ve been told in stories that the witches held great power.
Ahsoka and Sabine were fighting off some inquisitor while you chased after Shin into the woods of SEATOS, the Denab system.
You rushed pass the blood colored trees, desperate to find the one you loved before.
Your so called ‘home’
“Shin! Wait! Please! I just want to talk!” Shin came to a stop, hearing your voice.
“Y/n?” She turned around, facing you. Fear and confusion in her eyes.
“Yes, yes it’s me! Shin! It’s Y/n your light.” You stepped closer but Shin tensed back.
“You don’t have to run or hide anymore. I’m here, I’m here to take you home.” You reached a hand out, but Shin sneered.
Her lightsaber ignited, the bright orange beaming off her perfect ocean eyes. The eyes that were now filled with fury and dread.
The couldn’t help but cry on the inside.
Is this really Shin? The Shin you’ve been looking for, for years? Is this really what you called home?
All there is was wrath and pain…
Shin always had anger issues, but this was different. Evil was over her body, covering the sweet blonde you knew and loved.
“Shin- y-you don’t have to do this!” “Yes! Yes I do! It’s to keep you safe!”
Shin attacked first, her arms swinging at you. Luckily your body had time to react and you grabbed your two y/ls/c lightsabers. You blocked just before your face was slashed, a loud clash when the three lightsabers made in contact with each other.
You didn’t want to fight her, you definitely didn’t want to harm her in any way. You wanted her to join you, leave Baylan and the dark side.
The fight between you and Shin was tough, she was incredibly powerful to your surprise.
Shin has managed to get you on your knees, as her lightsaber was pointed at you. You felt weak, maybe if she killed you right then and there you wouldn’t have to worry about anything anymore.
You gave her pleading eyes, Shin knew what you wanted but instead she swung her foot around and it made contact with your head, making you get knocked out right there.
~~~~~~~~~
Your vision was blurry, a raging headache was the only thing you could feel other than the pain on your left cheek.
You looked up from the metal floor, to seeing a tall blonde in the way of your exit.
You scoffed, “heh, watching me sleep now too eh? Creepy.”
“I wasn’t watching you sleep.”
Oh that voice, that voice made you feel butterflies. That deep tone made you wanna beg for her to just talk.
“Sure.”
Shin looked at you, watching your every movement from the cell door as you stepped up slowly. You noticed you were in a cell, the dark chambered walls. To your assumption you were on her ship.
“What do you want?” You leaned against the wall.
“Answers.”
“Pft, same. But blondie here doesn’t seem to like to answer.”
Shin glared at you.
Even her glaring was sexy-
“How are you alive? Last time I remembered you died of starvation on Aris,” Shin ignored your comment.
You didn’t want to answer her, but you also had questions lots of them.
“Ahsoka found me, she had a mission on Aris and- happened to find me. Under a rock….literally.” You tried for some humor, but Shin didn’t even smile.
How you missed that, that sweet smirk
“Hm.” She hummed. “How long have you been training with Commander Tano?”
She was joking right? She kidnapped you to only ask how you weren’t dead and how your miserable life is going?
“Can’t believe you knocked me out and kidnapped me just to ask me about my training. I thought our fight would give you a hint.” You snarked.
“We’ll it seems you haven’t been training long, despite the fact that I beat you.”
You rolled your eyes.
It was silent for a bit, all you could do was stare into Shin’s eyes, waiting for her to say something like an apology for leaving or an ‘I miss you’. But there was silence until she turned away with a small glance, the patter of her feet against the ground then leaving you in the cold cell.
You sighed, the woman you loved left again.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Sabine and you had escaped Morgan’s grasp and found Ahsoka again. You had thought she was dead, when Sabine had told you she died.
It scared the shit out of you. But thankfully she was okay.
You guys located Ezra, Sabines long time friend. He lived with the Noti on Peridea.
Sabine was happy to see him again. You didn’t really know who Ezra was, Sabine had only talked about him a few times.
When you found him it wasn’t long after Shin and her troopers found you. Ahsoka was after Morgan so it was up to the three of you to watch Shin and find Baylan.
After a while of fighting Shin, she lost her army and fled like a coward.
You were sure she wasn’t afraid of losing, she was afraid to hurt you.
You could sense the regret in her, it was very tiny but easy for you to sense. You knew if you asked her she would immediately decline and say she hates you, which is completely un-true.
Hours went on and you didn’t see Shin again or Baylan. You and Ahsoka fought Morgan and stormtroopers as Sabine helped Ezra into Thrawns ship before he’d escape.
With Sabines help of the force he made it, but you and Ahsoka were struggling to fight Morgan and we’re close to losing if it weren’t for Sabine.
Ezra understood that Sabine had to leave him for the two of you, the three of you hoped he found a way off Thrawns ship and to fly to Hera and warn the New Republic about Thrawn.
~~~~~~~
Morgan was dead. Ahsoka took one final strike and slayed her. (Lol slayed)
Stranded, you three were. Safe with the Noti you decided to stay with them and help them until help arrived and when Ashoka’s ship was fixed (since it was damaged during the flight to Peridea.)
It was nice living with the Noti, they were interesting creatures and the fact they were one of the only species on the planet besides the Howlers and Bandits.
You haven’t encountered the Bandits in a while thankfully, cause Baylan and Shin used them against you to kill you.
Speaking of Baylan and Shin, you assumed they were left stranded by Thrawn, there was no sight of them at the death of Morgan Elsbeth.
Everyday you couldn’t help but worry about her. Day and Night. During the day there was chores, training, hunting, food then sleep. You stayed up a bit later until the stars came out, waiting on top of a hill for Shin. Anxious for her to come home.
Ahsoka and Sabine had asked you if you were okay, sensing the worry in you.
Every time they’d ask your excuse was ‘worried about home’ or ‘anxious about the bandits’.
Neither of them believed you but didn’t push you to tell them the truth.
However, little did you know an angry lone wolf was wishing for you too.
~~~~~~~~~~
You were out hunting, alone this time. Usually Sabine and you would go together but you wanted to go out on your own, not just to look for food but to find her.
Walking past a small river where fish lived, you sat down in front of the water looking in the reflection of it, seeing yourself. Your (Y/h/c) was ruffled because of training, big eye bags from staying up late overthinking, and the scar on your left cheek from Shin knocking you out.
Tears slipped down from your eyes, vision blurry and sobs that you were trying to block from coming out.
From all of your crying and thinking you didn’t even see another person in the reflection of the water, but you felt a presence.
“Go away Sabine, I don’t want any of your talks. I’m fin-” You looked up, only to find a blue eyed girl with white/blonde hair.
You gasped.
“Shin?” You swiftly got up from your feet. “W-what are you doing here? I thought you were dead!”
You stepped back.
“Shin say something!-”
“I didn’t know what to do, or where to go..” she spoke quietly.
You noticed a bit of blood staining her grey vest, then noticed a cut in her vest that showed the split skin.
“The bandits got to me, I tried to take over them. But- uh…that backfired.”
You stepped forward but she stepped back.
“I’m- im not going to hurt you. Where’s Baylan?”
You noticed tears in her eyes. God did that break you.
“H-he…he left me,” Shin sobbed, “I had no where else to go. He said for me to kill you, Sabine, Ahsoka and Ezra then join Thrawn but- I..I refused….to harm you.”
Refused? That’s a first, you thought she really wanted to kill you after everything. And definitely Sabine.
“Y/n.”
The way she said your name made your heart thump. A blush to your cheeks.
“Here your going to bleed out, let me help you.” You reached for your bag and brought out some bandages and gauze.
You always kept stuff on you just incase.
Motioning for her to sit, you sat next to her asking her to lift up her shirt and vest.
“This may hurt..” “nothing I can’t handle.”
You smiled, but it faded when you dabbed the gauze on the cut and hearing her hiss in pain.
“I’m sorry,” you winced.
It was quiet as you patched her up, making sure that it was clean.
After doing so, you asked her where she was going to go but she didn’t know either.
“You could…stay with us?”
Shin looked at you if you were serious.
She thought you were crazy, thinking that you’d ever want her in your life again after everything.
“You? Want me to stay with you?”
You hummed.
“I-”
“Shin,” you placed a hand on her thigh, she tensed but relaxed after a second. “I want you to stay.”
It took Shin a bit to think but she nodded with a slight smile. You smiled like a dumb idiot in love.
You were in love. In fact, you are in love
~~~~~~~~~
“Sabine just hear me out!”
This wasn’t going very well. You were standing in front of a furious Sabine Wren with her lightsaber out ready to pounce at the blonde behind you. One arm reached out to make sure Sabine doesn’t get any closer, looking back at Shin every so once in awhile to make sure she doesn’t pounce either.
You brought Shin over to convince Sabine and Ahsoka for her to stay, since she had no where else to go.
“No! I won’t hear you out! Do you not realize what she did to us?!” Sabine yelled.
“Look, I know your angry at me for this and you hate her, but we have history I’ve told you this!” You did in fact tell Sabine about your and Shins relationship. She didn’t believe you at first but it kinda made since later.
“So what!”
“So what?! Sabine she has no where else to go! She’ll die if we leave her on her own!”
“So then let her! Let her starve on this shit hole!”
“Sabine.” Ahsoka finally stepped in.
You relaxed a bit but still kept your guard, as well as Shin. Sabine only strained more.
“You must calm your anger. I understand how our friend here has invoked us, but it isn’t right to leave her alone to die,” Ahsoka trotted over to the Mandalorian. “Shin can stay, but if she ever tries to harm us then she has to leave.”
Ahsoka looked over at you and Shin, as you glanced at her and she nodded to you, understanding.
“Good. Sabine, come with me and Y/n,” Ahsoka looked at you again. “Get her to rest.”
~~~~~~~~~
It has been a few days since Shin joined your tribe with the Noti. You think she’s happy to be with you again, well, you know.
Shin has opened up to you more about Baylan, and how he was like a father to her. She cried every time she talked about him, but you were there to hold her and comfort her.
Every day was better now with Shin around. You had more confidence.
You and Shin would sleep in the same tent, wake up and go for a morning walk, chores together (you taught her certain things the Noti taught you), you’d spar with Sabine as she’d spar with Ahsoka (sometimes you guys would spar together), hunt, eat then watch the sunset go down till bed.
You both have gotten close, really close
Shin was always teasing you, like brushing your hip when training, teasing words in your ear when doing chores, winking at you when you’d do something she thinks is hot.
It wasn’t making you mad or annoyed, it made you flushed and having the urge to kiss her right there.
You were eye-fucking each other the entire time every day. You got closer to cuddling in your sleep, and not saying a word about it the next morning.
Sabine had caught on quick about it. You also thought Ahsoka caught on too. Maybe even Huyang! Pretty obvious if being noticed by the wise droid.
Every time Shin would do something Ahsoka would give you a look that made you want to tackle her and frown.
You knew these feelings wouldn’t get unnoticed by your jedi master, Ahsoka always knew things you didn’t or things you’d think she doesn’t know but…knows.
~~~~~~~~
“Are you gonna actually woman up at some point and ask out your girl?”
You almost spat out your soup.
“What!?”
“You know.”
“No, I actually don’t,” you fought.
“Dude,” Sabine sat down on the log next to you, eyeing you then the fire. “You guys are eye-fucking each other every time you take a glance.”
You rolled your eyes, face blushing and hoping the blaze of fire hides it.
“It’s obvious, I bet you the Noti even notice it,”Sabine chuckled.
“Okay, I do really like her to where I think I love her. But I don’t know how to ask her out! I’ve never asked anyone out before! What do I say?” You rambled.
Sabine gave you a look, “just- be yourself, take her on an evening walk or something. Can’t really do any dates.”
“Yeah no shit,” your eyes veered to the ground. “You sure a walk will work?”
“Dude, it will! Trust me, I’m a professional at these things.”
You gave her a look, “mhm..sure cause you are totally a professional.”
Sabine rolled her eyes.
“But thanks..”
“No problem, I just need someone to keep that grimlin to calm down.” You laughed and with that, Sabine said good night and headed off to bed.
You sighed heavily, you know Shin likes you too. You’re just worried if it’s the right time, your gut is telling you to. So that’s what you go with.
Later that evening you were compelling wether or not to wake Shin up and ask her to walk with you. You’d feel bad waking her up, besides you couldn’t sleep thinking about all this.
You finally made the decision of going to wake the blonde. You walked to your shared tent and stepped inside, looking down at the peaceful girl.
She was so cute, her blonde hair a little ruffled, her mouth half open and small snores coming from her.
Kneeling down on your right knee, you gently shook Shin awake with your left hand. “Shin, Shin wake up, I want to ask you something.”
Of course Shin was a deep sleeper.
“Shin!” You whisper yelled.
Eventually you heard a groan from the older girl. “Why?”
You blushed, “I was uh..wondering if you’d take a walk with me? I have something important to talk to you about.” You were surprised you spat all that out.
“Hmp…why not tomorrow?..” Shin sighed.
“It’s really important…”
Shin finally opened her eyes, just a little bit but enough to see her blue glare.
“Fine, just give me a second.”
You nodded and left the tent, waiting for her outside.
Once Shin was ready you both started to walk on a path that led to the river you guys met at.
“Why’d you bring me out here to walk?”
Shin broke the silence
“I was wondering…if uh..”
Shit. What did Sabine tell you to do again?
You question yourself
Shin looked at you with her right brow perked up, as she cocked her head.
“Look Shin. I know it’s been a long time since we’ve been together. But I just want you to kno-”
You didn’t even get to finish cause the next thing you knew lips were on yours.
Soft lips
Her lips were so soft
She kissed harsh. Like she’s been wanting to kiss you for years. (And she has)
You kissed back just the same amount of force. Her hands placed on your hips, pulling you closer. Your arms wrapped around her back, digging your nails into her clothed skin, craving more of her touch.
Shin bit down on your lips, causing them to bleed as she then licked up the red liquid. Teeth clashing as she dug her tongue into your mouth.
You groaned when she gripped your ass, trying to get impossibly closer.
“Lay down for me my light.”
Shin laid you down on the soft grass, kissing you once again as she climbed on top of you.
Her hands now placed on your cheeks, rubbing her thumb rubbing over the scar on your left cheek.
“Shin..” you whimpered as she started to kiss below your chin, gripping the skin with her teeth.
Purple and red marks were decorating your (y/s/c) skin, wet kisses trailed down your neck. You gripped her hair roughly, begging for her to mark you as hers. She implied but biting hard next to your pulse as her younger danced across the reddened skin.
She swimmed back up to capture you in another kiss. “Is this okay?” She asked against your puffy plump lips, you nodded with a sigh as she placed her knee between your thighs.
All you could think of now was her
She was your focus
You focused on her knee, lifting your hips as your clothed clit made contact with her knee making you moan.
“That’s it baby, grind yourself on my knee. Come on darling, make yourself cum on me.” She praised.
You felt so loved by her. Everything she was doing was soft. It made you want to never leave this position.
Shin kissed where your heart was, peppering more until she reached your stomach. Brushing her hand over your breasts causing your back to arch.
“Oh-oh fuck-” you cried. “Sh-Shin…”
“Yes babygirl?”
“I want more…please oh fuck please.”
“Yeah? You want more, what do you want more of?” She teased.
“Yo-your fingers..” you gasped when she pulled her knee away. Only to bring her hand down your pants.
“Mhm..want my fingers eh?”
You nodded, biting your already swollen lips.
Shin rubbed two fingers over your clit, bringing you closer to your orgasm.
“Come on baby, let go, let go for me,” she murmured against your lips.
“Oh shit! Yes! Fuck oh my god!” Shin smirked and eased her fingers inside you.
“Cum for me..”
And with that, your body shook as you clenched around her fingers. Moaning her name over and over until your high came to an end.
“That’s it..”
Shin pulled away and rubbed your thigh while brushing your hair out of your face. She leaned down to kiss you again.
“Let me please you in return baby.” You husked.
Shin blushed but nodded.
You sure were in for one hell of a night. But it’s a night you won’t forget about.
Because you were in the arms of your home.
~~~~~~~~~
The ending was cheesy as hell but I did it!
It kinda seems short but also long at the same time cause I needed to find motivation 😭
I hope it’s good!
Let me know if any other requests I might write something with Tara 🤭

First Fic: Thank You for the Topic of My Next Therapy Session

Chapter 1 of 4
Marinette has not been having the best few weeks lately. Akuma Attacks are becoming more frequent and violent, Luka has just been turned into an Akuma (again), and she is having to deal with a life-changing revelation (also again!?) that she should have been ignorant of for the next few years! But no. Her Ladybug luck just had to be with her as she opened her mother’s important documents drawer while in search of something significantly less important than what she did find! Her Maman only asked her to find her pearls, but what Marinette found were lies and significant emotional damage.
That happened weeks ago. She refuses to acknowledge it, so Sabine has no idea that Marinette knows, and honestly? Marinette would like to keep it that way. For as long as possible. Which might not be very long at all with the way this day is shaping up.
Luka Couffaine, an amazing boy who Marinette genuinely cares about and trusts as a friend and permanent member of Team Miraculous, has been akumatized into Truth (AGAIN! Can Hawkmoth be original? For once?) because she refuses to admit to being stressed and yes she was fine, Luka. There is no need to be worried. Now, he is gunning to expose her secrets. Starting with her classmates who are with them on the Liberty.
“What is Marinette’s biggest secret?” Truth demands, enforced by the magic eye-thing strapped to his back. Hawkmoth’s really pushing it with these Akuma designs lately. Like, the black with the blue assented suit is nice and the glowing three eyes are a cool touch. What Marinette draws the line at is the frEAKING HUGE HUMAN EYE THAT IS HANGING JUST BEHIND HIS HEAD. Safe to say, she is not impressed.
“Marinette has a crush on Adrien!” Each student yelled when hit by a beam of white-colored light. Right, the Akuma is trying to find her secrets and should be taken down without getting hit. She can do that. Also, this is exactly why she will not be sharing Ladybug's identity with you, Alya. Just because you are part of the Underground does not mean you are privy to all of the secrets.
“Everybody knows that! That’s not a secret!” Wow. Like... ow. Truth is just being mean at this point. Marinette can keep a secret! She has been Ladybug, Multimouse, and the Guardian for years with nobody finding out her civilian identity unless given permission. ALSO! She can confidently say that she has gotten over her crush on Adrien Agreste. Was it hard? Yes. Will Marinette always have a soft spot for the boy who was also her partner in cri- heroism? Absolutely. Did she realistically have time between being Ladybug, running the Underground as Multimouse, going to school, completing commissions as MDC, and helping her parents in the pâtisserie for a crush? No, she did not. The stress of doing so was actually the main motivator to let the crush go (unknowingly advised by said crush before the reveal).
Though it is a bit freeing to know that she now blushes, not from the reveal of her once crush on Adrien, but because everyone still believes she hasn't worked past it. Which... wow, that really says something. Something that Marinette will put on her "deal with later" list.
Oh no, Truth is looking at her. He must have heard her sigh. Fuck
“Ladybug, tell me your biggest secret!” he demands. If she was just a bit faster in hitting the deck, she wouldn’t have been hit on her right foot. was touched by the compelling laser. Double Fuck.
The distinct purple moth mask appears over the face of Truth. Hawkmoth was watching, the psychotic bastard. Marinette has run out of fucks to give. Three is too many.
“M’lady!” yells her partner, Chat Noir. He must have seen her get hit because he began to run at her, unbuckling his belt. Thank all that is good, for she had the same thought as Chat to use the belt as a gage. The problem with that idea is that it is assuming that he can get it to her before she spills any secrets. You know what they say, assume makes an ass out of u-and me.
Marinette could tell from the sudden tension on the boat that everyone on that boat, Hawkmoth, and the thousands of people watching on the live stream Alya's blog was hosting were waiting for the admission of her civilian identity. It was what made Chat Noir run faster. What made the students (and Hawkmoth) hold their breath. It was not, however, what was causing Marinette to go through three panic attacks at the same time. No, that went to the knowledge that written on her birth certificate, in the space that was for the name of the birth father, was Bruce FREAKING Wayne. Also, the adoption papers claim her as Tom Dupain’s daughter.
Her birth father wasn't the man who raised her! The man that she has grown up loving and hugging and bonding over video games with wasn’t her blood. The man who was her blood didn’t want her. And she knows this because she found no divorce or marriage certificates between her mother and Bruce Wayne: meaning he got her mother pregnant in a one-night stand or broke up with her as soon as he found out she was pregnant!
Then he went and adopted Richard Greyson only a few months after she was born, making her self-confidence dive off the Eiffel Tower! The emotional weight just got heavier as she researched, and Instagram/Twitter stocked her would-be-siblings in the weeks since she found out. They looked so happy and comfortable! Happiness she could have been a part of if she had reached some type of criteria her father had that the others did. Marinette is sure that she would get along super well with them, yet she couldn't be claimed as their sister when Bruce had so easily thrown her away.
Under no circumstances can she say all that as Ladybug, though. It could lead anyone curious enough to look to find out her identity. Good thing she knew Bruce Wayne was Batman. A startling realization at the time, but ultimately made sense. Didn’t make the feeling of inadequacy any better. Against her will, she opens her mouth and just barely finds the mental strength to switch the names Bruce Wayne and Batman before speaking.
“My father isn’t my father! My bio dad is Batman, and he abandoned me, and my mother doesn’t know that I know now... FUCK.”
Silence. Pure silence. Able-to-hear-a-pin-drop silence.
“...what?” The silence is broken. Chat stands stunned staring incredulously at Ladybug like everyone else on the boat, but with the added layer of actually knowing her civilian identity. If Marinette could see Hawkmoth right then, she would have seen the same state of shock as her classmates. The would-have-been-helpful belt lays limp in Chat’s hand as they all try to reboot their brains. Truth rebooted faster than the others.
“Why did he abandon you?” Ladybug, mentally screaming, couldn't move before the laser hit.
“The hell if I know, he left as soon as he found out my mom was pregnant!” An assumption on her part, but pitying and sympathetic looks come from her classmates anyway. Chat is still stunned. The chat on the live stream Marinette had forgotten about stops for a second before rapidly whizzing by with many expletives and shocked face emojis. This will hopefully be a moment to laugh at in a few days... oh Kwami, please.
“Do you resent him for it?” Ladybug tried to dodge, but her section of the boat was small and open. She got hit.
“Yeah, a little. He abandons me and my mom and then a few months after I was born, the first Robin comes into the picture. So, it kind of hurts.” At this point, the students are too invested to move, and it is safe to assume that Chat will not be of any help during this fight as he is too far gone.
“Are you jealous of the first robin?” Ladybug has no choice but to charge head-on and take the laser.
“I don’t think so. I’m more hurt by the fact that he continued to adopt more kids, but never came back for me. And STOP ASKING INVASIVE QUESTIONS!” He engages her in hand-to-hand combat that has her performing awe-inspiring acrobatics to get around the eye. She lands a solid punch to his liver that has him doubling over just as the next question is asked.
“Would you want a relationship with your siblings?”
“I have always wanted siblings, but I don’t know if I can even call them that since Batman didn’t choose me but chooSE THE OTHERS!” Her last words were yelled in exertion as she judo-flips Truth over her shoulder with impressive agility and core strength. She is quick to snatch the akumatized necklace and break it. Purifying the Akuma and Amok, Marinette looks to the sky and heaves a long-suffering sigh. “Holy FUCK Batman. Thank you for giving me the next topic of my therapy sessions.”
The French Government issued a blackout of all things Akuma-related at the beginning of this whole fiasco to keep from attracting the Justice League and their million-dollar guarantee solutions. It did not, however, withstand France's 64.6 million citizens working towards the same goal.
They loved Ladybug. Like they loved her. She is the hero that created the team they can always depend on to save the day anywhere in France! Much more than the Justice League who had ignored her repeated calls that were sent outside of France and the blackout (It was a busy week for reporters when their beloved heroin had gone public with the ignored request for help. Fuck you Green Lantern).
They loved her so much that to not only find out that Ladybug is the daughter of the American vigilante, detective extraordinaire, Batman, but that he also abandoned her, their displeasure will not go unheard. Every one of the thousands of people tuned into the Ladyblog’s live stream had saved it, cut it to manageable bits, and then sent it to everyone they knew on every internet platform they were on. 26 hours later, the rest of the world was calling for an explanation for the viral video that kept changing titles to not get deleted.
The French government had no choice but to lift the blackout.
As a result, the Ladyblog skyrocketed in viewership and recognition for its consistency in recording the Akuma fights (much to Alya’s delight and her friend's bemusement). Many viewers would just watch the saved live stream. More would watch the rest of the videos. News articles are read, websites visited, and people watched the Duo of Paris and, later, their Miracle Team take down villain after villain, day after day, battle after gruesome battle. With the Parisian public singing their praises, it wasn’t long before the rest of the world adored the Parisian Heros just as much as the locals - if not more so.
All that the world was waiting for at this point was the inevitable reunion of the "Batfamily" and the Justice League's response to the Heroes of Paris.

Imagine this with me for a sec, I'm here to break your heart with this silly little headcanon:
Baylan and Shin made their outfits.
When Shin was young and living with her family, she learned to sew because it was something commonly taught to all people within her community (like driving or riding a bike in ours). This means she grew up with the craft and is familiar with how to both sew by hand and with a machine. She knows how to darn, mend, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if she knew a thing or two about embroidery, crochet, or knitting.
(oh my golly, imagine Sabine finding out Shin can crochet)
Anyways, fast forward to the first few years she and Baylan spent together on the run. Shin is officially an apprentice and they work together to survive, take contracts, teach, and learn. They do everything together, and because of their profession, they feel like they need ✨outfits✨ to appear more reputable to potential clients.
Now, if you look at the stitching on Shin's tunic compared to Baylan's, it's a lot neater. The color of fabric is uniform and overall, it's looks like it's held up fairly well to the abuse it's been through. Baylan's is... a little less neat, but still durable and it serves it's function.
Here's where I'm going with this:
Shin, in this scenario, is a relatively experienced seamster, or at least more experienced than most. This means that she probably had to teach Baylan a thing or two when it came to creating their outfits respectively, hence why the craftsmanship in Shin's appears a tad better than in Baylan's.
Now just imagine Baylan's pride towards trying to learn this new skill from his apprentice and inevitably succeeding after many failed attempts. He knows his handiworks isn't the best in the world, but he did it and it was his own apprentice that taught him how. It made his apprentice smile and that's really all that mattered in the end. It was probably a defining series of moments/activity in their relationship and it probably brought them closer as a Master and his Apprentice, or more like, a Father and his Daughter.
That's all 🙃

"Why do you paint your armor?" Shin questioned one day, knee propped up against the ledge of the table, artificial light catching the dull silver across their shins.
Sabine glanced up from her pauldron, lifting the brush up just in time to avoid dripping orange all over the drying blue, instead sending a thick blob of paint to drip onto the unprotected table, seeping between once pristine white cracks.
"Mandalorians don't wear their hearts on their sleeve, and many of us choose to cover our faces, so we paint ourselves on our ancestral armor to show the kind of people we are."
"Explain," Their legs lowered from the table, shoulders slouching as they leaned forward, brows furrowing cutely as they focused their entire attention on the artist.
"Well, okay, so our colors aren't random. Each one has some meaning as a whole, one that will be noticed by all Mandalorians, regardless of their standing with a particular group. Grey, that's the color of mourning; You'll be hard pressed to meet any of my people without it, anymore..." The smile slipped from her lips as she brushed her fingers across the plate on her chest.
"Orange is a lust for life, purple is for luck, red..." Her fingers brushed against the dark paint, grimacing at the thought of the paint she though she would never have to spread across her beskar. "Red is the loss a parent; honoring them."
"Blue is the color of reliability, teal is for those that are healing, white is cin vhetin; starting again, gold is the color of vengance, so on and so forth." Picking up a dry brush, Sabine worked away at smoothing and bleeding certain pieces together against the still wet paint on her pauldron.
"It helps us essentially judge the book by it's cover, I guess; A Mandalorian has to be able to really know who they are when they paint their armor, because that determines, or at least, used to, determine if someone was friend or foe."
"Are Mandalorians the only ones who can paint armor?"
"What? No, we don't have exclusive rights to the rainbow," Sabine shook her head. "We had to share with the Zhell," Nose crinkling at her own joke, Sabine lifted her head away from her piece. "Why, you thinking about getting out of the shiny phase?"
Cheeks flushing, Shin's shoulders shrugged as their arms moved to rest on the table, hand reaching across their chest to pull on the neat beaded braid.
"It'd be alright if you were, you know; I always figured you'd look good in blue,"
They snorted, leveling Sabine with a crinkled stare. "You said blue was for Reliability, even after everything, you still believe blue is right?"
"I've never been wrong about what color I used... sometimes the picture around it changes, it's not that the color was bad, or didn't fit the piece, it just needed time to see for itself that it belonged."
Eyebrows furrowing in speculation, their head shook. "Explain it to me like I have never seen color a day in my life,"
"You know, I heard canines may have yellow and blue on the spectrum for their vision," A dorky smile cracked Sabine's face and she had to duck to avoid a flying wet paintbrush that was flung her way.
"The point is, Kurs'kaded, you figured it out... I can't lie and say I didn't doubt it, that I was sure you would stay true to it in the end, because really, i was certain you would have let him kill us..."
Shin's expression dropped at the reminder of Peridea, the reminder of why they were aboard the Jedi's T-6, and not with their Master.
"But you did it, you kept your word... you're just,,, blue."
Shin's lips twisted in a mix of thought and doubt.
"But here, just... Gimme one piece, and I'll think on it for a few days; I'll put on it what I really think of you,"
With reluctance, Shin slid the vambrace from their right wrist, placing it on the table with a heavy thunk. "And here, so you aren't running around without armor," The artist removed her own gauntlet, motioning for them to extend their wrist.
The grey and gold beskar fell shorter than the steel alloy vambrace, stopping at only halfway up her arm instead of closer to her elbow. Shifting uncomfortably, they nodded in false understanding, got up, and promplty exited the room without another word. "Gotta stop giving women emotional talks; they keep walking out on me," The Mandalorian grumbled to herself, picking their pauldron off of the table and turning it in her hands.
▬▬ι═══════>
"Hey, Shin, wait up!" Sabine ducked out of the ghost and into the bustling hangar, grateful to catch Shin and Ahsoka on their way out of the T-6. "I finished your armor!" The adrenaline from the dogfight still rushing through her veins.
Shin blinked once at Sabine, raising their left arm to check the beskar gauntlet on their wrist, seemingly for the first time. "It took you a while,"
"Told you I had to think about it more, now come on," Sabine grabbed a hold of the Apprentice's arm, just above her gauntlet, guiding Shin back through the hangar to the ghost. Hera met their eyes and offered a knowing smile and shake of her head.
"Please don't put anymore paint on my floors!" The General called to their retreating forms, rolling her eyes at the promises from the Mandalorian bouncing back to her. "Kids,"
"Hey, she takes after you more than you'd think," Ahsoka defended with a snarky smile spreading on her face.
"Ta-da!" Sabine guided Shin inside her old room, still thick with the lingering smell of dried paint, hair dye, and the many different perfumes and colognes she'd sprayed over the years. The rebel picked up a decorated piece from the bunk, though it seemed unrecognizable to the blonde now.
The entire piece was painted a dark grey, gold outlining every scratch and dent, with dark blue paint swirling from every notch, interconnecting into a personal galaxy. White and red speckled the purples and blues in their background of mourning, creating a constellation of 'stars' that formed the image of a large wolf in the red, and a smaller wolf in the white.
"It took me a while to figure it out, but I wouldn't take back a single drop," Reaching back again, Sabine pulled the late retrieved hand plate from her pillow. Teal, blue, green, and white clashed together in the form of a crashing wave, a circle of unpainted middle sitting nestled in the darkest of blue, a Moon to always take with them.
They were sad to give up Sabine's gauntlet after weeks of learning how to use beskar to their advantage, and at first, the colors had been an overwhelming distraction. Eventually though, Shin began to embrace the colors they showed to the world, and Sabine was more than glad to help Shin see past what they may have thought of themselves before, and maybe it was a little bit to keep the light from being reflected into her eye when the sun caught her in the middle of staring at them.

The Church of Ezrabine’s Prophet is presenting you with some more excerpts from the ancient and most sacred texts for your contemplation.
Behold, Star Wars Rebels: The Visual Guide (2014).
Tumblr media
Lo, the early evidence of our ship on a page dedicated to Sabine Wren and her brightly colored designs (which includes her colorful hair and armor).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note that Sabine thinks of Zeb as a brother, not Ezra. In the first season of Rebels, Sabine was aware of Ezra’s crush on her, but she deliberately chose to ignore his awkward attraction to her. Could it be his lack of maturity? Clearly, she knew that he did not think of her as a sister. 😏
This volume is based on season 1 of Rebels, and it describes Ezra as “almost 15” and gives Sabine’s age as 16 years old. They both had a lot of growing up to do before an “awkward attraction” could grow into something more.
Tumblr media
Ezra is described as a “lone wolf.” Do you know who else described himself as being at least part wolf?
Tumblr media
I present to you the creator himself, Dave Filoni, pictured here with his wife, who likes to dye her hair bright colors. (Who else likes to do that?). 👀
It is no secret that Luke Skywalker is George Lucas’s alter-ego in the Star Wars universe.
Tumblr media
And you should also note that cameos aren’t the same thing as alter egos.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have presented some evidence that Ezra Bridger just might be Dave Filoni’s Star Wars alter-ego.
Tumblr media
The real question is, does the hero get the girl this time?
It’s fun to speculate, isn’t it?
I have spoken.

I thought I'd be more coherent if I wrote this in the morning and I was entirely incorrect so get ready for an absolute mess of Ahsoka thoughts!!
I love the palette of the show- I don't think we've ever seen anything in live action quite this colorful and it fits the Rebels look perfectly. Side note Lothal especially is gorgeous and I can't wait for people to make gifsets of it so I can reblog them endlessly
Additionally: the music!! I went feral every time I heard themes from Rebels and burst into sobs listening to the end credits. Kevin Kiner sir you have not lost your touch
Speaking of sound design: I'm so glad they didn't change the iconic loth cat noises. I would die for Sabine's kitty
Now, I miss the voice actors a lot, and I stand by the fact that this would have been better animated, but I do think the live action actors embodied the characters very well. They were well-written and had wonderfully consistent mannerisms
Also all the little Rebels easter eggs! Ryder! Jai!! As soon as I saw the guy standing next to Ryder I was like "is that Jai?" and I literally screeched "YES" when he was introduced as a senator
I wasn't expecting them to mention Ezra as much as they did! I kind of thought he'd be vaguely haunting the narrative like Kanan, at least for the first few episodes, but no- he is driving the story and I love that for him
I am a little confused as to why Sabine and Hera thought he was dead since Rebels never gave off that impression, but as reasons to explain why they didn't look for him for ten years go, I guess that's the most plausible. My thought is that they initially believed he was out there, but assumed he would be the one to find their way back to them, and lost hope when it didn't happen
As much as I'm anticipating Jacen, I actually wasn't too disappointed he wasn't in these episodes. It looks like the vast majority of footage in the promos was from these episodes, so there's plenty of time for him to appear later on
Overall: I'm satisfied! I'm emotional!! And I can't wait to see where the story is going from here
