• When the words "I wanna choke on your dick until I pass out." left your lips, your lover Nikolai Rachenko froze, wondering if he'd heard you correctly.
• "Is that what you really want?" Nikolai asks curiously, his eyes calculating as he watches your face closely, after you've repeated your declaration.
• If you are American, Nikolai will silently wonder if all American women are as bold as you.
• He'll take some convincing, mostly just because he loves when you beg.
• It might even go as far as having you grovel against his clothed cock, but beware his will is literal steel.
• But you know damn well you're effecting him, his large bulge pressing against his pants is evidence of that.
• When he finally gives into you, and allows you to release his cock from his pants, he's smiling proudly when you audibly gasp.
• No matter how many times you've see his impressive member, you find yourself gasping every time you lay eyes on it.
• And he fucking loves it.
• Nikolai is murmuring down at you in Russian, weather you can understand him or not, matters very little.
• His graceful fingers laced into your hair, and swiftly braiding your hair, all while you place soft kisses along his shaft.
• He doesn't mind your tender teasing, if anything it makes him feel closer to you.
• In his mind you are showing your adoration for him when you tease him, and he almost craves it.
• When he's finished braiding your hair, he'll encourage you to take him into your mouth properly.
• He knows you struggle taking all of him, but his heart swells with pride when you try your damnedest.
• He'll be silent until you start giving his balls some much needed attention.
• He tries to remain quiet, he's a soldier, he's trained to remain stoic.
• But eventually he'll crack if you work him hard enough.
• God once you get him going, there's no stopping him, he's moaning your name like a prayer, babbling under his breath in Russian.
• He's repeating "Ты невероятная принцесса, продолжай в том же духе." over and over again, his eyes feeling a bit heavy from pleasure.
• Ты невероятная принцесса, продолжай в том же духе. = You're an incredible princess, keep up the good work. (A phrase you've become very familiar with.)
• As he nears his end his knees are nearly buckling, his back slumped against the nearest wall.
• Nikolai can't help himself, and he'll thrust down your throat as he starts cumming.
• If you lose consciousness he's gonna take care of you, picking you up and carrying you to the bathroom.
• He'll run you a bath and sit on the edge beside you, scrubbing your skin with gentle hands, smiling as you wake up.
• After cleaning you up, if you ask him to touch you, he's happy to finger you until your release.
• Still sitting beside you as he leaned down kissing you with passion, his fingers working you like a master.
• Which undoubtedly is.
• But if after that you're still desperate for him, Nikolai is more than happy to carry you to the bedroom to continue your activities.
• He can't resist you, and he's unable to say no to you. So if you ask him to do something specific, he'll do it without question.

vedic astrology observations pt 4
1. big buff men 🥵💪🏼
I had previously observed that Mars, Jupiter & Cancer influence is what makes certain men naturally possess a big, broad frame and a beefy physique
Another important factor is having a large yoni animal (elephant, buffalo or cow) because our yoni animal also affects our physique
I had previously made an observation about how Moon dominant women tend to have a very voluptuous physique and upon further research, the same largely applies to Moon dominant men😍🙈
Tumblr media
Jason Momoa, Pushya stellium (sun, mercury and venus) Vishaka moon and mars in Mrigashira (darakaraka)
Tumblr media
Henry Cavill is Bharani sun, Shravana moon & rising, venus in Mrigashira and saturn in Chitra
Tumblr media
Channing Tatum has Uttaraphalguni moon & saturn (his atmakaraka), venus in Mrigashira (amatyakaraka) Ketu in Dhanishta
Tumblr media
Joe Manganiello has Revati moon, venus in Dhanishta amatyakaraka
Tumblr media
Dolph Lundgren (walmart Arnold according to some) has Swati sun, Purvabhadrapada moon, Vishaka mercury amatyakaraka and jupiter in Chitra atmakaraka, along with ketu in Bharani
Tumblr media
Terry Crews, Pushya sun & mercury, Hasta moon conjunct ketu, mars in Punarvasu
Tumblr media
Michael Clarke Duncan has Pushya moon. Shravana venus and mars in Vishaka atmakaraka, jupiter in Chitra and ketu in Bharani
Tumblr media
Steve Reeves, Bharani moon, venus in Dhanishta, Jupiter conjunct Ascendant in Shravana
Tumblr media
Gerard Butler, Vishaka sun conjunct mercury, venus in Swati, Hasta rising
2. Ingenues in cinema are often played by Punarvasu, Pushya, Rohini & Mrigashira natives. An Ingenue is a character trope used to describe a female character that is young, endearingly innocent, virginal, naïve, sweet & gentle.
Tumblr media
Mumtaz, was an Ingenue sex symbol in India in the 60s & 70s. She has Pushya sun & venus, Punarvasu mercury & rising, mars in Mrigashira atmakaraka
Tumblr media
Drew Barrymore, Punarvasu moon, Mrigashira rising has played an ingenue in many of her films
Tumblr media
Marilyn Monroe aka the most well renowned Ingenue sex symbol, has Rohini sun & mercury
Tumblr media
In 13 going on 30, Jennifer Garner plays a little girl stuck in the body of a grown woman (which is what an Ingenue essentially is). She has Mrigashira moon with Venus conjunct Mars in Rohini
An extension of the "Ingenue" archetype would be the "Dumb Blonde archetype"
Tumblr media
Christina Applegate's most well known role is that of Kelly in the show Married With Children. Kelly is a typical "dumb blonde". Christina is Mrigashira rising
Tumblr media
Goldie Hawn is notorious for playing such characters. She is Mrigashira moon
Tumblr media
in her acting roles, Jessica Simpson often played the "dumb blonde". She has Punarvasu sun conjunct mercury
Tumblr media
Paris Hilton played a huge role in 2000s pop culture and most people associate the word "bimbo" with her. She has Pushya moon conjunct rahu
Tumblr media
Pamela Anderson often played characters of this sort. She is Mrigashira rising with Mercury in Punarvasu as her amatyakaraka
Tumblr media
Isabel Sarli often played a naive girl who gets taken advantage of sexually in many of her sexploitation movies. She has Punarvasu sun
Tumblr media
Brigitte Bardot, the woman who was considered "Europe's answer to Marilyn Monroe" was Rohini moon (Marilyn being Rohini sun) with Ketu in Pushya
Tumblr media
the role that propelled Margot Robbie to fame was that of a "blonde bombshell". Margot is Punarvasu rising (she also plays Barbie which is also very on brand)
Tumblr media
Amy Adams' breakout role was that of an ingenue princess in Enchanted. She is Rohini rising (conjunct ketu), venus in Pushya and saturn in Punarvasu amatyakaraka
Tumblr media
Cameron Diaz often played "the dumb blonde" early on in her career. She is a Punarvasu stellium (venus, ketu & rising)
Tumblr media
Liv Tyler has played the ingenue, as well as "the damsel in distress" (an extension of the ingenue trope). She is Punarvasu rising with Jupiter in Mrigashira atmakaraka
Tumblr media
Olivia de Havilland often played the Ingenue or characters that were extremely ladylike & "proper". She has a Punarvasu stellium (moon, venus & saturn), mercury in Mrigashira & ketu in Pushya
Tumblr media
in the movie Black Swan, Nina is the "white swan", she is pure, innocent, naïve and incapable of playing the role of the sexually charged, erotic "Black Swan". Nina is played by Natalie Portman who has Mrigashira sun. (she has a dysfunctional relationship with her mother in the film and that's another recurring theme I will discuss in a future post)
it shouldn't be too surprising that Punarvasu & Pushya girls are on this list, Cancer has always been a mainstay rashi/sign in Bimbocore, with Barbie's creator herself having Ketu in Punarvasu and being played by Margot Robbie who is Punarvasu rising.
Mrigashira, is the first of the Mars nakshatras and thereby the least developed. Mars represents a very sexually charged, unbridled fiery erotic energy but in Mrigashira, these natives are unable to channel it. Now, keeping the mythology of Rohini & Mrigashira in mind, we know that Mrigashira has themes of being endlessly pursued; it is a very seductive nakshatra that entices others but these natives are emotionally almost childlike and innocent and uncertain about how to handle these advances. This makes them all the more appealing in many ways, the combination of physical sex appeal combined with a girly, innocent, naïve, childlike persona makes them more intriguing. Keep in mind the fact that both other Mars ruled naks are Rakshasa gana, which means they've developed the ability to exert their fiery Mars sexuality in a way that gives them control, Mrigashira being a Deva gana nakshatra AND a Mridu one, means that these natives are genuinely sincere hearted, guileless and vulnerable.
(here's a post that discuses this)
Tumblr media
a very good example would be Brooke Shields; she was a child star who played roles and did things that were completely inappropriate for a child and as a result, she was sexualised at a very young age. she had a very dysfunctional relationship with her mother (a common theme in the lives of many of these natives) who managed her career. by the time she was a teenager she was the object of desire for everyone. however Brooke was a virgin until the age of 22. the most sexualised woman of her time was a shy, awkward virgin. Brooke has Rohini stellium (sun, jupiter & rahu) with Mrigashira moon & mercury.
Rohini was Brahma's daughter & Brahma desired her sexually, which made her run away from him. In Mrigashira she takes the form of a deer, leaving behind her human form which caused unnatural desire in her own father. Both these nakshatras are strongly tied to incest, stalking and taboo sexual desire. These natives are pursued by men who are fascinated by their innocence & sensuality. These natives seem to garner unwanted attention wherever they go; they are pursued endlessly and this makes them uncomfortable. Most of these natives choose to live very private lives, almost shrouded in secrecy, they are very quiet and do not indulge in attention seeking behaviour.
3. Nakshatras that are two tier like Uttarabhadrapada & Purvabhadrapada, Uttaraphalguni & Purvaphalguni, Uttarashada Purvashada tend to attract each other
Tumblr media
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has Ketu in Uttarashada & his 2 muses are Aishwarya Rai (Purvashada moon) and Deepika Padukone (Purvashada sun)
Tumblr media
Namjoon is a Purvaphalguni sun & Yoongi is a Uttaraphalguni moon. Although all the members share unique bonds with each other, Namjoon & Yoongi were the founding members of what became BTS and have a connection that goes wayyy back.
Tumblr media
Tim Burton (Uttarashada moon) frequently works with Johnny Depp (Purvashada moon)

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: An Insufferably Queer Film Review
I rewatched MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE (1987) for the first time since it came out last night and WOW I have some thots about this thing. We enjoyed roasting the living shit out of it but there's a few gold nuggets in there despite the brutal budget cuts that impacted the plot and what not.
Contains plenty of spoilers.
Tumblr media
God bless Wardrobe
OK so … the film doesn't bother to set up any real motivations for the characters, and He-Man (an incredible looking Dolph Lundgren rrrowrrrr) has almost no dialogue which is such a fucking waste. But this complete lack of narrative framework means we can apply OUR OWN explanations to events.
From the very beginning Skeletor has this obsession with He-Man, which will simmer and then culminate in a final showdown. But before we get to that hot mess, we have to wade through the middle of the film.
Tumblr media
He gets as much screen time as He-Man.
Meet the utterly repulsive dwarf scientist Gwildor played by Billy Barty, a rinse-and-repeat of his performance as an utterly repulsive magic troll in Legend (1986). This dwarf is the film's Jar Jar. His face is like a deep dish pizza after an acid attack. His real mouth is visible behind the immobile thick prosthetics and it makes for some truly disturbing close-up dialogue shots. Please, pan away from Pizza the Hutt and give us another shot of Lundgren's pecs please I am begging you, DP
We find ourselves in Gwildor's hobbit hole, and he's a magical inventor. So he has this cylindrical object, it's not clear whether it's a weapon or a teleporter but I'm calling it the Butt-Reamer 9000. Inexplicably, there are two of these things and Skeletor has the other one, and wants to collect both of them. So Skeletor has an excuse to go hunting He-Man as he's hunting his missing McGuffin, er I mean sex toy.
Tumblr media
Features rotating ticklers, a big improvement over the Butt Reamer 8000.
The thing about the Butt-Reamer 9000 is its magical power to make even this promising setup devolve into a grind as it whisks the Eternians into the magical, enchanting world of a 1987 New Jersey parking lot. WHO WROTE THIS?
The entire middle of the movie is pretty much hot garbage and involves police detectives, arson, vandalism, high school prom, and other dumb bullshit. Aside from the distractingly naked He-Man, the good guys are an utter bore and include some Eternians, some regular Earth humans and their quotidian concerns which really brings down the fun of the movie. (No, baby Courtney Cox, I don't care about your imminent breakup with your mediocre boyfriend!)
The film owes a second mortgage to Star Wars and steals a lot of ideas from it, from bad guys in shiny black stormtrooper helmets, to heroes shooting blue lasers, baddies shooting red.
Let's turn from this depressing state of affairs and focus back on our cherished villain blorbos.
Tumblr media
(L-R: Karg, Evil-Lyn our goddess, and Blade.)
Evil-Lyn is beautiful, evil, a cold bitch queen. Gurl you can do so much better than sticking with this loser Skeletor.
Tumblr media
Dump! Him! He's gay anyway!
Skeletor is a shit lazy boss of Greyskull and makes Evil-Lyn run the goddamn place in general. He literally shoots the messenger at one point. Great for morale, there, Skel buddy.
Tumblr media
Look closer. Fierce!
There's a number of budget rate henchmen on the job, including Karg, who used a whole can of aqua net this morning and is running around in a white fur capelet with a massive bouffant. He is just doing his best okay, really it's hard to look fabulous around these other bitches.
Tumblr media
Blade definitely deserved more screen time
Also, Blade, who had a slutty costume of silvery scale maille or something, and was a bit like a sci-fi bondage Riff Raff / space Judas Priest. Best side character costume.
So, there we have it, the queer coded villain roster of the film.
Tumblr media
This homemade collage is for sure taped inside Skeletor's locker at school
Tumblr media
Note the gigantic brown eye.
Finally, thank Satan, we return to Castle Greyskull, though it's more like beige-and-brown-skull. But aside from the questionable use of faux marble finishes, this is a quality villain lair with hard points installed directly in the floor of the living room, convenient death pits, and an excellent throne setup that I'm pretty sure they recycled for The Fifth Element.
He-Man is captured alive and brought before Skeletor. Blade does the honors with a 15 foot glowing red bullwhip to He-Man's naked and oiled back, much to the delight of dyed-in-the-wool sadist Evil-Lyn.
Tumblr media
Movie is getting good now. Was the side quest to Jersey really necessary?
Skeletor, though, watches this action from the throne and has a lot of interesting responses. We had to conclude that Skeletor is a big old bottom but won't admit it. As a dom he is utterly ineffective. He's trying to make He-man kneel and all this shit but He-Man is not submissive at all. Skeletor is … lol. He really just wants to smell He-Man's dick.
The depths (heh) of his bottom nature will become apparent shortly. But first, a costume change.
Tumblr media
Skeletor's glow up --- i'm every woman.
Tumblr media
Honey we know you're just trying to impress He-man.
Werk tho.
Tumblr media
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Hole
The gigantic sky-sphincter directly behind the throne has slid open wide… "Begin! The Goatse Ritual! Join me, He-Man, as I become LORD OF THE GAPE" But He-Man's phallic symbol shines bright in defiance. In the end, Skeletor is vanquished symbolically by his own nature and instead of his hole swallowing He-Man, a gaping hole swallows Skeletor instead.
They don't really explain what happened to Evil-Lyn after He-Man's inevitable victory in final man to man combat but she was too smart to get caught sleeping in there and must have survived. What a hot evil competent BABE. After the events of the film end, I vote that Evil-Lyn seduces Teela (the good guy solder lady) and has a hot toxic lesbian affair with her.
Tumblr media
Evil-Lyn serves cunt in hell 4 evar
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Want some more?
Nice fanart
Another breakdown on Buzzfeed if you enjoyed mine this is even more gay headcanon
The movie is free on Tubi if you want to subject yourself to it.

Dolph Lundgren on Amber Heard and Aquaman II cuts.
Looks like Dolph Lundgren isn't following the studio line:
"Action movie icon and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Dolph Lundgren has revealed that Jason Momoa "got spooked" with the "Amber Heard situation," and believes that the Aquaman franchise is now over. In an exclusive interview with MovieWeb, Lundgren addressed the future of the Aquaman franchise and says he has heard "through somebody else" that Momoa wants to move on to other things.
"I don't know what's gonna happen with Aquaman. I've heard Jason Momoa thinks it's just his last one, and he wants to do something else. I heard it through somebody else. But it's hard to know what's going to happen in the future, except I just thought they had a great script, and they had a great director and good cast [for the second film]."
After praising the script, director, and cast of the sequel, Lundgren reasoned that Momoa grew concerned about the involvement of Amber Heard, the bad press the actress was getting at the time, and how this would affect the box office and audience response.
"And I guess he got spooked with this Amber Heard situation and the fact that people weren't gonna see the movie because she's in it. I always thought that was overrated. I mean, I think when you make a movie, you've got to stick to your guns a little bit... So, I personally wish they stuck with the original because I thought it was quite good."
Lundgren also referred to "the original," by which he means the first version of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. A version in which both he and Amber Heard reportedly had much bigger roles.
Lundgren is likely right in thinking that the Aquaman franchise in its current form is over, with Momoa rumored to be changing characters and playing Lobo in James Gunn and Peter Safran's rebooted DCU.
The Aquaman sequel was hammered with delays and negative reports from behind the scenes, with documents released as part of the Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard defamation trial even claiming that Momoa had arrived to set drunk and "pushed" to have Heard removed from the project entirely.
While his time underwater may now be done, Dolph Lundgren has plenty in the pipeline. The action star will next lead Wanted Man, a movie that he has also directed, co-wrote, and produced. Starring Christina Villa, Kelsey Grammer, and Michael Paré alongside Lundgren, Wanted Man follows the Rocky IV star as an aging detective who travels to Mexico to extradite a woman who witnessed the murders of two DEA agents. Of course, things are never as simple as that, with Lundgren soon finding himself unable to trust anyone admit flying bullets fired from every side.
Wanted Man is due to be released by Quiver Distribution in select theatres and on video on demand from January 19, 2024. You can check out the trailer below:"
Some takeaways here:
Further corroboration that Amber Heard was telling the truth about her role being reduced, that this was done to placate the hate mob.
Jason Momoa is a self-absorbed coward who threw his costar under the bus for the sake of his own career.
There was a prior version of the film (not sure if it was ever all actually shot or just scripted) that would have had expanded roles for Heard and likely also Lundgren, and was probably superior to what was released.
Glad to have supported Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (#OnlyForMera), will not be watching the reboot as things stand. Nor anything by Wan or Momoa.

2024 MOVIE LIST
www.tumblr.com/theharpermovieblog
BAD MOVIE TRIPLE FEATURE pt.3
I re-watched The Punisher (1989)
Before Thomas Jane, before Ray Stevenson, before Jon Bernthal, before the MCU....there was this.
Frank Castle's family is murdered and he is presumed dead. Soon he returns to seek revenge on criminals as The Punisher.
Director Mark Goldblatt only directed three things. 1988's "Dead Heat", an episode of the 90's kid's show "Eerie Indiana", and This first ever film version of Marvel Comic's The Punisher. Goldblatt built much more of a career as a film editor.
His version of The Punisher is definitely a "So Bad It's Good" movie.
The plot here is minimal, barely brushing upon Frank Castle's backstory and diving quickly into the punisher actively killing mobsters. There's a basic story about a war between Japanese and Italian mob bosses resulting in stolen children.
But, don't let a simplistic plot or bad writing sway you from watching this. I watch a lot of bad movies and the ones that fall into "so bad they're good" are few and far between. When one is as solid as this, I get excited. Maybe overly excited. Maybe because I watched two other bad movies this week, which were truly boring and awful, I found this to be more entertaining than it actually is. Who knows?
Look, this won't change your life or be the best shitty action flick out there, but if you like "bad" movies, you should definitely take a look at this one.
Dolph Lundgren plays a goth/greaser style Punisher. He broods, he makes bad one-liner jokes, he kills people and he has a painted on beard. It's a simple character that's not hard to root for, and Lundgren pulls it off. He doesn't need to do much acting.
The movie has plenty of murder and mayhem and R-rated 1980's goodness. There's stabbings, shootings, slit throats and explosions. "The Punisher" moves at a quick pace, ignoring a solid foundation and almost dropping us into the middle of a movie. If nothing else, it's constantly moving from exciting sequence to exciting sequence. Not all those sequences are great, but they don't slow anything down when they're bad. They're almost better when they're bad.
Yes, this movie is certainly not good. It feels unfinished and not well thought out. But, for all it leaves out, it makes up for it with a few good unintentional laughs and an action movie pace that keeps things fun. The Punisher isn't trying to go high concept and not delivering. It's not attempting a serious drama despite the lack of talent and style to pull it off. It's just nonsense that's fun to watch, which is what turns a "Bad" movie into a "So Bad it's good" movie.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will soon make a splash on home video as the final DC Extended Universe flick looks set to become available on home video in time for the spring.
Per ComicBook.com, T he Lost Kingdom will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K UHD on Mar. 12. An exclusive clip from the home release was included in the report, showing Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) and Orm Marius (Patrick Wilson) attempting an unlikely escape. The news comes after it was confirmed the Aquaman sequel would make its digital debut earlier than anticipated as the DCEU blockbuster becomes available for streaming on Jan. 23, just over a month after it opened in theaters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The home video edition of The Lost Kingdom boasts several bonus features, including Atlantean Blood Is Thicker Than Water, exploring the dynamic between Arthur and Orm. Along with the digital release, the home video version also includes a behind-the-scenes documentary with director James Wan exploring how The Lost Kingdom came together, a featurette chronicling the Black Manta (Yahya Abdul Mateen II) and other tidbits about key locations and sequences in the sequel.
The DCEU Ends With Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
The Lost Kingdom marked an up-and-down end to the ill-fated DCEU, following up from the commercially successful Aquaman, which grossed over $1.15 billion worldwide. The Lost Kingdom has earned over $378 million in global ticket sales against a budget of up to $215 million, with the film reportedly needing to make more than $400 million at the box office to break even. Thanks to its overseas appeal, The Lost Kingdom easily surpassed all other DCEU films released in 2023, including Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash and Blue Beetle. The sequel is closing in on Black Adam, which is next on the DCEU box-office charts at $393 million.
Also featuring Amber Heard, Dolph Lundgren and Nicole Kidman, The Lost Kingdom was panned by critics, receiving a 34% critical rating, though 81% of audience members liked the movie. The likelihood of Aquaman 3 seems low considering fan demand to see the film series has diminished. Wan insisted fan demand had to be high to ensure a potential threequel came to fruition.
The Aquaman franchise is also in jeopardy given the potential of Jason Momoa switching characters in the new DCU. Momoa has long been linked to playing a live-action Lobo in the DCU and has long been a fan of the comic book character, admitting he wants to portray the chainsmoking mercenary.
Bonus Features Revealed
The home video release will contain the following bonus features:
Finding the Lost Kingdom: Go behind the scenes as director James Wan reveals how he and the cast and crew pulled off their biggest endeavor yet, an epic sequel to the largest grossing film in the history of DC.
Aquaman: Worlds Above and Below: When the filmmakers set out to create a sequel that eclipsed the original in scale and scope, they knew they would have to send Arthur and the rest of the cast to all kinds of new wild and wonderful worlds both above and below the sea.
It's a Manta World: Black Manta is more powerful than ever now that he has discovered the Lost Kingdom of Necrus and taken possession of the Black Trident. From inspiration to execution, filmmakers reveal how they leveled Black Manta up to the realm of supervillains.
Necrus, The Lost Black City: Ages ago the great battle for the earth took place here, in this legendary lost Atlantean city. Discover how the filmmakers created the Black City from its "surface city" concept and its inhabitants: Undead Necrusians (Zombies), to its execution.
Escape from the Deserter World: From idea to execution, explore how the filmmakers created this barren desert landscape and the Deserter Prison, how its creatures and inhabitants were brought to life, and how they planned and executed the daring Orm "breakout" sequence.
Brawling at Kingfish's Lair: The Citadel is the last frontier of the ocean, a deep trench filled with sunken old ships, stacked high like a rusty city. From concept to completion, discover Kingfish's Lair, a bar within, where the worst of the worst hang out.
Oh TOPO!: The Tactical Observation and Pursuit Operative Octopus is a living legend and all-time fan favorite. Director James Wan and the filmmakers discuss the decision behind bringing TOPO back to the sequel and its promotion to Arthur's on-screen sidekick.
The Lost Kingdom hits digital on Jan. 23 and will be available via home video on Mar. 12.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
Director: James Wan
Starring: Jason Mamoa, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Randall Park Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren
Release Date: December 22, 2023
My Rating: 6/10
My Review (MINIMAL SPOILERS):
Did this movie need a sequel? No, it didn’t. Not really. I love the first aquaman movie. I loved its use of classic literary archetypes and the Arthurian legend storyline. I believe I gave it a 10/10? I would’ve been fine with just that movie and nothing more, as I’m not a justice league or even a DCEU fan for that matter.
That being said…this movie was fun. It was really cheesy at some points (how many times do we need to yell, “GET AWAY FROM MY [insert family member here]???). The plot was really simple to follow, even though I definitely had to look up why Black Manta was mad at Aquaman before going into the movie because I had forgotten over the *five years* between the movie. The villain has absolutely no arc - he was just evil and rebuffed the hero’s attempt of mercy in the end. It was a very straightforward superhero movie. It felt like watching the Fantastic Four movies from the 2000s if that makes sense. It wasn’t groundbreaking by any means. It had a ton of action sequences that went on a little long, an infallible hero, and very basic drama.
Amber Heard’s Mera has a really decreased role in this movie. I really enjoyed Mera in the original Aquaman. If her decreased role was a result of the actress’s legal battles and negative press…I can understand that. But if they just didn’t know what to do with her character and reduced her to lower than a supporting role for that reason, I have some issues.
I loved that I finally got a movie that did a brother battle redemption story RIGHT. Either the writer, director, Patrick Wilson, or all 3 really understood Orm as a character because he was the best part of the movie. I really believed his “return to the light side”. His interactions with Arthur were so great and often really funny, but they also held a solid amount of emotional weight. Maybe it’s my love for Patrick Wilson talking, but I just couldn’t get enough of Orm in this movie. Patrick Wilson should play more villains, he plays them so richly…Patrick Wilson should just be in more movies.
This movie was just a pretty solid movie if you know what to expect going in. Like I mentioned before, it’s nothing super exciting or groundbreaking. But it follows the instructions for a superhero action movie and does it well enough. As the last movie of the DCEU…it is what it is. The DCEU isn’t going out with a bang, that’s for sure, but it isn’t going out with a fizzle either. I don’t think I’d recommend it for people that don’t really already love the genre but if you like superhero movies…this one will do just fine.

Aquaman 2 And The Lost Kingdom
Opinion;10/10
The DC Comics universe that began with Man Of Steel ends with this sequel to Aquaman that offers a fantastic and amazing adventure with Jason Momoa. This actor never ceases to amaze with his charismatic and tough character who must deal with his task as king of Atlantis until Black Manta returns. Making a sequel to the film released in 2018 was necessary to continue Black Manta's revenge story. This antagonist manages to have the participation that he needed in this universe. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is a nearly unknown actor, but his performance as Black Manta is the best of his early career. The return of Orm Marius, played by Patrick Wilson, was obvious because of how essential he has become since the first film. Nereus, played by Dolph Lundgren, has more interpretation and as for Mera, it is not strange that he no longer has as much relevance as in the first film after the affair with Amber Heard. Too bad that didn't allow Mera to have participated more as Aquaman's right-hand woman. The film offers excellent action scenes and the digital effects have a whole series of fascinating moments. In some ways, the film is strongly inspired by works by Jules Verne, H.G. Wells and H.P. Lovecraft. The machinery used by Black Manta's henchmen has a steampunk style that is reminiscent of The War Of The Worlds and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Even the costumes of Black Manta and his henchmen also have an air of Verne's works. The island where they hide and their creatures are clearly inspired by The Mysterious Island. The sea creatures or monstrosities of The Lost Kingdom have an air that resembles Lovecraft's mythology, probably being influenced by Call Of Cthulu, Dagon or The Shadow Over Innsmouth. The black trident, its power and the visions it provokes also have a Lovecraftian feel that could perhaps be something out of The Dunwich Horror. All these details make this film a wonderful adventure and fantasy story, just like the works it was inspired by. It has a good soundtrack by Rupert Gregson-Williams, with the Black Manta moments being the best of the entire score. Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom is one of the best films in the DC universe and it is a shame that it is the final chapter of this universe, because it undoubtedly shows that there is more potential in this franchise that could have been exploited. My final rating for this movie is a 10/10.

AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM (2023)
Starring Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Randall Park, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Martin Short, Nicole Kidman, Vincent Regan, Jani Zhao, Indya Moore, Pilou Asbæk, Jay McDonald, Natalia Safran, Samuel Gosrani, Jay Rincon, Jonathan Bremner, Jack Waldouck, Jonny Vaughton, Osian Roberts and Grant Huggair.
Screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.
Directed by James Wan.
Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. 124 minutes. Rated R.
Let’s face it, it’s a bad time for Aquaman to continue his adventures in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. A whole tidal wave of issues are pressing against the return of the King of Atlantis.
First off, and most basic – the world at large seems to be getting a case of superhero fatigue. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in particular is in a precarious place, as the last remnants of the old Zack Snyder-planned DCEU of which this film is a part has come to an end, and the new James Gunn DC universe is going in a completely different direction – a direction which may or may not include Aquaman. (The appearance is that at least for now, Aquaman has no place in Gunn’s DC films.)
The last several DCEU films have been box office disappointments, including The Flash, Shazam 2 and Blue Beetle. It’s not unique to DC, who has always been the also-ran comic book cinematic universe. Even the grand poohbah of the art form, Marvel, has had recent films become severe box office disappointments. (The Marvels, Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, anyone?)
Not only that, but there have also long been rumors of an uncomfortable, strife-filled set for this film – particularly an apparent feud between star Jason Momoa and co-star Amber Heard, which is a concern, considering they are playing husband and wife. In fact, Heard’s role seems to have been cut due to Momoa’s insistence on limiting her involvement – although that limitation also may have to do with Heard being essentially cancelled after the infamous trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp.
Still, Warner Brothers thought enough of Aquaman to toss it out in the deep end and make it a Christmas tentpole title.
I can’t say that I share their optimism. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the best and the worst of modern superhero filmmaking all mixed up into a big, confusing mess. There is very little in the way of a plot here, although there is nearly constant eye-popping action which the filmmakers hope will distract you from the fact that not much of this stuff makes much (or any) sense.
Also, the attempts – mostly by Momoa, but by some other characters as well – to add some much-needed levity and humor to the film almost inevitably fall flat. (This was also a problem with the first Aquaman film.)
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is lost itself, a huge, shambling series of poorly edited (mostly) underwater battle sequences held together with just the barest wisp of a plot. And that little wisp of story is basically one we’ve seen over and over now, particularly in superhero movies.
The cast feels like they are on autopilot for the most part – particularly Nicole Kidman who looks like she would love to be anywhere, anywhere, but where she is. On the other hand, Randall Park steals pretty much every scene he is in as a scientist who is dragged into an evil plot.
I can sort of relate to him. Although, in fairness, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom does have some fun action sequences, for the most part you’d have to drag me kicking and screaming into ever watching this again.

We’re in the weeds now. This poll contains a good portion of the one off Marvel movies (those that came and went).
Up until now we’ve covered most of the MCU, most of the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. Next up are the Sony characters (including Morbius of course).
At the end of this endeavor we will do a final poll facing off the winners to determine once and for all who the greatest Marvel casting choice of all time is.

I just watched the live-action Masters of the Universe movie from 1987 for the first time and had way more fun than I was expecting. A few off-the-cuff impressions:
The casting is actually great. Dolph Lundgren’s accent is a little silly but helps sell him as a benevolent and slightly alien meathead (and, uh, he definitely looks the part 😳). Frank Langella is incredible as Skeletor and manages a surprising amount of face acting from under several inches of basically-immobile makeup. Meg Foster steals every scene she’s in as Evil-Lyn and 1000% deserves the “and” spot she gets in the opening credits.
The practical effects and props are loads of fun, especially all the Eternia set pieces. Big Dark Crystal vibes. I wanna play with all those goofy gadgets and their big chunky buttons.
Teela not knowing what cooked meat is (she wonders what the “little white sticks” are) is hilarious to me, not for the obvious reasons but because Man-At-Arms, the only one in the group not grossed out by it, advises her to “never think when you’re hungry” and only minutes earlier had boasted about surviving a 30-day siege without rations. Live-action Duncan definitely knows what human tastes like, is what I’m saying.
He-Man says ACAB (there is a police detective character who is rude, wears one of those tasteless tie-tacks shaped like a pair of handcuffs, and does nothing but hinder the protagonists; he does get a shoehorned-in happy ending but it involves him quitting the force and leaving Earth forever so I’d call that a net win).
I Do Not Care about the Earth teenagers, but seeing He-Man and friends interact with 80s American suburbia is pretty delightful.
Gwildor is a poor replacement for Orko but I actually didn’t hate him as much as I thought I would.
If I had a nickel for every time He-Man had a convenient grappling hook in his loincloth….
Skeletor wears gloves with little skulls on the fingertips and I just love that.
Pigboy!!!!
“Men who crave power look back over the mistakes of their lives, pile them all together, and call it destiny” is one HELL of a line and I cannot believe it came from this movie.
All in all, if you love the cheesiness of other MOTU stuff, like to laugh, and were curious about this version, it’s definitely worth 100 minutes of your time. Good journey!
