Archer let out a small laugh & rubbed his face, not at all surprised by the man's reaction. "I'm not asking your permission."

Tobias glared across the desk at him, seeming truly offended by that remark. "They are my children."

"I'm well aware of that. I was there when we made them," Archer replied flatly.

"I have a say in who is allowed around my children. I don't know your little boyfriend," he said the word as if it tasted sour in his mouth. "Well enough to trust him around my children."

"You keep saying my children, my children as if they're not my children too. You don’t need to know him. I know him. I trust him. Besides," he derided in frustration. "I'm not talking about sending them away overnight somewhere with a stranger. I'm going to be there too. I'd just like to have him & the kids around the house at the same time. He's important to me & hiding him away for two weeks at a time isn't fair to either one of us."

Tobias scowled, rising from his chair & crossing to look out the large window. He'd known this might happen sooner or later but he'd hoped this little fling would have ended by now. "And why should I allow this?”

"Because I love him & he's going to be around for a long time," Archer snapped. “It’s time you accept that.”

Hearing those words felt like a punch to the gut. Tobias closed his eyes & took a few deep breaths, trying to put that thought out of his mind. "I don't think we should be parading men in & out..."

"I'm not parading anyone!" Archer shouted, jumping to his feet. "We've been together for months now & he's not going anywhere, Tobias. And like I said, I'm not asking your permission. It's going to happen this week while the kids are with me."

He decided to change his approach. Turning to look at Archer sadly, Tobias shook his head. "Do you know how badly this hurts me?"

"I don't fucking care. I really don't," the blond immediately shut him down. "Our agreement was that we would inform the other before introducing a partner. We made a promise to each other that we would only do it if it was a long term, serious relationship & that’s where we are. This is going to happen & I'm informing you. End of conversation." He turned towards the door to leave.

"Archer wait..."

"No. I'm not doing this with you, Toby. I can't. You have to let me move forward," he muttered, not looking back at him. He hesitated only for a brief moment before walking out.

Can we just talk for a moment about the “I want you to fuck me” sex scene! You know, the first and second time - okay and the third time - I watched this scene I was so caught up in the heat and passion, and the all consuming lust they have for one another that I didn’t think much beyond that.

But the emotional significance of this moment between them is incredible and I love it when tv/film sex scenes drive the story and their character’s development so beautifully.

Seeing the power imbalance between them at the start of the show and how it slowly shifts over time is so well done, but I love this moment in particular because…

* Hawk initially attempts to exert his dominance by trying to force the milk onto Tim. Tim stops this by not complying but taking the bottle from Hawk. But then he CHOOSES, for himself, to drink it. Chooses to seduce Hawk. Sits in his power while Hawk drowns in want and drips with lust.

* The dialogue is masterful- Hawk referring to “my skippy” -letting Tim know that he still belongs to Hawk. But then acknowledging (“he’s all grown up now”) - they are coming back together as equals.

* Then Hawk completely surrenders to Tim - asking to be fucked, needing it, letting himself be completely vulnerable and out of control for Tim - something we know he’s never allowed before (and never does again!!)

* This scene also helps us truly understand how much Hawk has been pining for Tim - his primal need and love for Tim is laid bare here (and also in the naked dancing scene - which made me cry!)

Still crying over the episode 12 hours after watching 😭😭😭💔💔💔🥵🔥🥵❤️❤️❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

"So you really loved Tobias, didn't you?"

"I did," he answered without hesitation. "I don't think I'd believed that that kind of earth shattering love existed until I met Tobias. When I was with Levi, the rest of my life was hard to imagine without him in it because that's what I had always thought would happen. Levi was a part of the plan, plain & simple. Then everything got so confusing & I gave into something I didn't quite understand yet. I hurt someone that I really cared about & life as I knew it turned on its head. I had loved Levi but the way that I felt about Tobias was completely different & new & exciting. Everything happened so quick. I was with him every single day & we were married within six months. I realize now that it was some sort of sick codependency that we created. Especially since I had lost my best friend. I felt judged by my friends & family for everything that had happened, for everything that I had done. I'd tossed around the idea of dropping out of college anyway but now I had to because I was married to a professor & the school had very strict student teacher fraternization policies in place. He took care of me & eventually brought me on with the label. I really felt like I needed him. He made sure that I needed him," he added softly.

"It sounds like you were looking for what was missing & found the extreme," Vince commented.

"That's a good way of putting it," he admitted. "With Tobias, I felt like without him, my whole world would come crumbling down."

"Did it?"

"At times, I felt like it was. When I found out that he had betrayed me & lied to me, it called every moment since we had met into question. I thought he loved me the way that I loved him, needed me the way that I needed him. Really he'd had his own agenda the whole time. He loved me but I was always a means to an end. I provided him with this picture perfect life that he had always dreamed of having & when I didn't offer it to him on a silver platter, he found a way to take it for himself anyway." He let out a sour scoff, shaking his head. "Had he cheated on me & betrayed me like that, I probably would have stayed & worked it out. Hell, I still considered working it out more times than I care to admit. Something really broke in me though when he admitted he'd been going behind my back, against my wishes, to make sure I got pregnant."

"Holy shit," Vince breathed. He'd only heard Archer make vague references to why his marriage had ended. He'd never known the details.

"And then, because I'm an overachiever, I only went on to make things worse. Not only for me but for a lot of other people too..."

So I went searching for special dialogue for a romanced Alistair, who stayed with the wardens, about a HoF who made the ultimate sacrifice. Specifically for what he says in DAI. For reasons.

I know what he says about her when she's alive in DAI, so I was curious if he'd saying anything about her if she's dead, like Leliana and Morrigan do. After reading through all sorts of forms and reddit posts where most of the answers were "huh I dunno what he says in DAI, I've never done that route," I eventually found out what he says.

Nothing.

Romanced Alistair says nothing about a dead HoF in DAI. At first I thought this was odd? Surely there's something referencing the fact that he and the warden were in love? even if just for fanservice like in DA2? Some of the comments on these posts blame it on Bioware doing bad writing again but it's hard to tell if they actually mean that, or if they're conflating "I don't like this" with bad writing because honestly? I disagree.

Intentionally or not, Alistair not saying anything about his dead lover is completely in character for him. He doesn't know the Inquisitor. Why should he tell them anything about the love of his life that he lost ten years ago? He's not as open about that stuff like Leliana or Morrigan.

You know what's actually out of character? Alistair giving a random stranger he met for two seconds an item that belonged to his dead lover because "she doesn't need it anymore."

Wasn't it enough to ruin his face, DA2? Did you really need to throw in some botched fanservice as well?

Wait a minute, Varric's telling this story...

Alright, new headcanon: Varric is, as per usual, full of shit. Alistair did give Hawke an item because he felt bad that he couldn't help them with the qunari except it wasn't anything special. But that's not interesting enough, so Varric lied and said Alistair gave Hawke an item that belongs to THE Hero of Fereldan for the sake of showing how super special Hawke is.
