Non-wrestling related but still 100% true. I am not political and will not shove my beliefs down your throat. But this.. I’m genuinely tired. Oh, and if you dislike what I have to say or are pro-terrorism/Israel’s attack/racist/bigot, please kindly fuck off. (I will not stop talking about this stuff until people LISTEN)
And I know my words don’t always reach ears, and that’s fine. I’m still trying though.
Every day we stray further away from a peaceful world because idiocracy still exists. I genuinely mean the people who will sit there and be so loud and wrongly obnoxious with their hate, bigotry, racism, and so on and so forth.
And I’m sure we all had obnoxious behavior (not quite like what I named) but still obnoxious and maybe a little bit disrespectful.
But we live and we learn. We grow and adapt. We accept our wrongs and we do better. And we take notice of other people’s wrongs and do better.
But some… will not. And those people are refusing change because they refuse to be open-minded and come to realization that maybe their way of thinking isn’t as productive or rational as they once thought.
And these behaviors are usually taught, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept the “norm” that was taught to you.
I’m sick of senseless violence upon other race, religions, etc. I’m sick of these old bigots running things. And I’m sick of NOBODY taking accountability and fighting to make a change.
This world is legit falling apart because none of us can get on the same page. None of us can accept non-hateful opinions. Nobody can accept different. And nobody can accept and realize that change isn’t always a bad thing.
It’s only bad when your narrative is bad. (Hence the US funding Israel) Oh, yeah. I may not be political but I see things. I hear things. I am well aware of the stuff that goes on around me.
We have one life to live and this is what most people are choosing?
HATE? SENSELESS VIOLENCE? RACISM?
That’s not what I’m choosing.
We may be a silly little guys/girls/GN/etc but we don’t have to conform with all this BS that are being fed to us.
And I know we try so hard not to fund certain places who also give money to Israel or senseless war, but we’re so very limited because that’s what they genuinely want.
But if you don’t have to then please don’t.

I’m still in the mood for word violence, so you know what?  Nobody asked, but he’s been in my brain, so why the fuck not.
Zenos bingo
Tumblr media
*inhale*
Alright.  Fun fact about me.  During Stormblood, I was a low-key Zenos fan.  By the end, not so much.  I know SE said they basically plan out the story cycle but this man got presented with so much fucking potential and GOT DONE DIRTY. I am of the firm fucking belief Yoshi-P went to Ishikawa-san and dropped this man on her desk and went ‘rehabilitate him’.  Ishikawa-san looked at Zenos, looked at Yoshi-P, and went ‘I can’t rehabilitate him, but I can at least make him viable.’, and Yoshi-P said ‘Do it.’
So much potential!  This man shows up in Rhalgr’s Reach and BEATS EVERYONE! INCLUDING US, THE WARRIOR OF LIGHT!  We’re fresh off ensuring Gaius (presumably) has a nice dirt nap, ending the Dragonsong War, kicking Nidhogg’s ass, killing Asicans, annihilating primals, we’re the beloved hero of Eorzea, and look at what happens?!  The severe psychological implications ALONE are most delicious fanfiction fodder!  The political implications even more!  This man was touted to be a fucking tactical genius, subjugated Doma, was up to his neck in unethical and fucked up experimentation, KICKS OUR ASS AGAIN A SECOND TIME, pretty much enables Fordola and had he been allowed to continue doing so we probably would have been given the most hyper-violent couple in FFXIV and the mayhem would have been glorious!
INSTEAD HE BASICALLY SITS ABOUT IN THE BACKGROUND FOR ALMOST THE ENTIRE DAMN GAME LIKE A FUCKING BOND VILLAIN (Bloefield to be more specific do not @ me I grew up watching James Bond I’ve seen every one with the exception of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and I know the gist of that one).  ALL HE NEEDED WAS A FUCKING CAT TO GO WITH THE SAMUARI SWORD GOLFBAG.
‘do you expect me to talk?!  no, warrior of light, I expect you to die!’
*sigh*
I was disappointed.  And it’s not just Zenos, it’s the entire Galvus family.  I was personally looking forward to quite a bit of content (in game!) regarding them.  Hell I wanted to personally beat the shit out of Varis! While he was still living!  I wanted to kill the man personally but I had to settle for Cid’s crazed mind palace while unlocking Bozja!
And like so many characters in Stormblood, Zenos would have come off a lot better if they’d just released the background information IN THE GAME instead of well after the fact OUTSIDE it.
I admit my interest was stoked when it was revealed he could possess primals.  (to the tune of Hear, Feel, Think... What. The. Fuck.), but then he just came off all creepy stalker and the moment was lost.
The body jumping...that was a surprise.  Legit.  And then once again he just decided to lurk in the background (which to be fair, he couldn’t really do anything else) during Shadowbringers.  Elidibus is running around in his body, he’s outside of Illsabard, so he’s gotta hoof it the old fashioned way.  I would have loved to have read something on that.
My interest got stoked again inbetween ShB and EW, but from a historical standpoint.  ROME IS BURNING AND NERO FIDDLED AWAY WHILE IT DID (side note: Nero actually didn’t fiddle while Rome burned, he rolled up his sleeves and actually helped with the firefighting).  Zenos came back, he reclaimed his body--but surprise, he’s got jack shit interest in the throne or in ruling!  He just wants another throwdown with us!
(Enter Fandaniel.  I agree with @autumnslance‘s take on him, he and Zenos worked well together.)  It’s also at this point where okay, if Zenos is going to be the creepy stalker of the WoL, let him be the creepy stalker.  It’s nice, simple and clean.  Fandaniel’s surely the bigger problem.  Right?  Right?  RIGHT?!
(may I present in exhibit A:)
IN
FROM
THE
FUCKING
COLD
FINALLY THEY LET THIS MAN SHINE.
I screamed.  I was hollering.  I was begging ‘PLEASE DON’T HURT ANYONE PLEASE DON’T HURT ANYONE PLEASE DON’T HURT ANYONE OMGOMGOMGOMG’  And finally, I could put a lock on his character.  One and half expansions later, I finally had something that put Zenos squarely in my villain list and invest me
Tumblr media
And on that bombshell.
Side note:  To the Zenos fans. Um...are ya’ll okay?  Need anything?  This is fandom we live and let live and don’t judge, do what brings joy but...I’ve seen some things, and just...um...
Tumblr media
You know what? NVM.

i'm trying to figure out a way to articulate to people who know me that I also don't think that "storming a courthouse or capitol building isn’t in itself something that I think should be described as terrorism" so that they understand my views but don't at the same time think I'm for the trump/qanon peoples. Do you have thoughts on this? Like, how do we talk about what's happening today without by association condemning direct action and protesting? Where is the line between that and terrorism?
I mean, look, we spent an entire summer explaining that property damage and blockading courthouses isn’t inherently violent, and that property destruction isn’t violence and I do stand by that.
THAT BEING SAID, I’ve seen some more images (including photos of a protestor carrying a whole bunch of zip tie style cable restraints) that indicate planned violence in a way that we didn’t see with BLM protests. There’s no nonviolent reason to storm a building full of your political opponents with restraints, especially when so many of the people doing the storming are in an apocalyptic cult that fantasizes about trying and hanging politicians (Qanon is legit really fucked up).
But beyond that I don’t think that ‘terrorist’ is a useful term and I think that at this point in US discourse it’s a thought-killing cliche.
I think that “extremist” might be a really good way of putting this and unfortunately off the top of my head I can’t remember what episode of the quanon anonymous podcast I heard someone discussing this on (I’m noting that it was the qaa podcast so I can go look up the researcher, not citing qaa in general as a reasonable source on extremism) but there is an expert on extremism who partially defines extremism as “an ideology in which violence is a necessary part of the belief system” and I think that’s a pretty good way of contextualizing this.
The protestors who defaced the Portland courthouse were not there to drag judges out by their robes and guillotine them in the streets. The man in the tac vest with the restraints hanging out with a bunch of people who have called for hanging sitting politicians and whose movement has tried to citizens arrest sitting politicians MIGHT be there to drag politicians into the streets and hang them.
An extremist breaking into a building to do violence is terrorism, a protester breaking into a building to interrupt a vote isn’t something I necessarily see as terrorism so long as the end goal isn’t doing violence against the people who vote against your interests.
I know that people want to make this a very simple right and wrong issue, and I understand the desire to have a bright line between what is legitimate protest and what is terrorism and unfortunately I think that ship has sailed because legitimate protesters are being labeled antifa terrorists and are getting teargassed and beaten, and potentially violent extremists are being called terrorists but are having gates opened for them and are being gently herded out of the building without any arrests.
I am saying *potentially* violent here because the narrative really quickly dove into “shots were fired” without noting that those shots appeared to all be from capitol police and I’ve seen claims that police believed that the extremist/protester group were going to use mace on the cops but I have yet to see much proof of that.
I don’t know. If I was going to try to simplify it I’d probably say something like “tactics shouldn’t be conflated with ideology”? Disrupting city council meetings, sentencing hearings, and legislative sessions has been a valid tactic in use by protesters for a really, really long time. But again, nobody from the Capitol Crawl showed up with a spear and no BLM protesters took over a courthouse wielding handcuffs after spending years chanting “lock them up.”

genuine question, how is 'voting with your money' in a conservative society good but 'cancel culture' bad? Surely if lgbt people don't want to work with people who think they are sinners, they should be allowed to fire them, because that's their right? This strikes me as a contradiction but lmk if i'm wrong
You seem to be bringing two issues at the same time into this, but I’ll try to cover them both.
Surely if lgbt people don't want to work with people who think they are sinners, they should be allowed to fire them, because that's their right?
This can easily lead us into very unpleasant territory if you expand this to its logical conclusions.
By definition, we Christians believe that everyone who has ever walked this earth (ourselves included BTW) is a sinner. Romans 3 is pretty much a summary exposition of that. It means that we have committed wrongdoings and dwelt in evil or impure thoughts. If, as such, people started firing those who thought they are in sin, Christians would be completely unhirable in zero time.
Furthermore, although I have no formal legal expertise to speak of, even so I have a feeling that, from a legal standpoint, this would also be nothing short of a disaster area. Imagine telling a court of law something amounting to “I decided to fire this person because he believes that I have offended his God in whom I don’t even believe”: it boils down to theological differences and little, if anything, else. If this somehow managed to establish itself as a legit precedent, it would lead to all kinds of religious discrimination overnight.
how is 'voting with your money' in a conservative society good but 'cancel culture' bad?
There are some important differences between the two, and I shall try to explain them to the best of my ability.
1. “Voting with your money” (henceforth VWYM), as I am aware of the term, has more to do with an individual choosing to support or not to support different businesses, either through purchasing their products or deciding to work for them. Cancel culture (henceforth CC), on the other hand, describes situations where societal clout is mobilised in order to mark certain individuals as “problematic” and as such to make it more difficult (if not nigh impossible) for them to make a living or to be respected in polite society.
2. VWYM is mainly concerned with current causes and practices espoused by a business. CC can be triggered by literally anything, even decades-old tweets which the author might even have regretted.
3. Likewise, people who VWtheirM do not seem to mind granting again their patronage to businesses who correct their practices and espoused beliefs. CC has shown again and again that its adherents are not interested in any sort of forgiveness; they alone are right, always; and it’s always one strike and you’re out.
4. Most people who VWtheirM, although usually making their grievances known and trying to convince others to boycott this or that firm, are not fixated on aligning everybody with their causes and preferences. Cancelers, on the other hand, are rarely satisfied with anything short of nationwide (or even international), unanimous outrage against those whom they choose to target. Hence why CC typically leverages social media outrage mobs, and why anybody who does not join them is also added to the “problematic people” list and considered complicit.
5. Whereas slander and half-truths seem to be CC’s bread-and-butter, it is increasingly rarer in the grand scheme of VWYM. In fact, you might have noticed that one of the most oft criticised aspects of cancel culture is how it relies on demonising people and considering them evil, as well as the lack of proportionality between the alleged “crime” and the sought punishment.
6. VWYM rarely has to do with what we call “punching down”. CC rarely has any qualms about “punching down”.
7. Perhaps the best explanation is given by @Wokal_Distance on Twitter:
The most common form of cancel culture is using social media to create mobs that create social and financial consequences for people who hold views the cancelers don’t like. Usually the cancelers seek to get a person fired but sometimes settle for reputation destruction. This is what people are talking about when they talk about cancel culture.
It’s not that there is a shortage of platforms from which to express an opinion, nor are they upset about garden-variety shunning (“I’m not your friend anymore”, “You can’t come to my birthday” etc) from peers.
Cancel culture means a guy I’ve never met, in a state where I don’t live, can see a video that I didn’t film, of a thing that I didn’t say to him, and get me fired from my job providing a service that he doesn’t use.
Again, that’s as far as I could think about the issue right now. @anscathmarcach @ask-a-baptist @theindependentconservative @siryouarebeingmocked @bransrath and anybody else, please feel free to contribute as you see fit.

Transformers
I knew I could count on you! All right
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most):
Legit I have a new one every time I do a full reread. Sequentially: Cyclonus, Chromedome, Brainstorm, Megatron, Ratchet, Ultra Magnus. If I have to choose it’s CD all the way. Integral part of the plot even when he’s not technically the focus, a living ghost on a ship of dead men walking, a Byronic hero, a serial monogamist, more than anything a character who represents what everyone is running away from. He will always have a failure of conscience and he will always cause irreparable harm to somebody. Single-handedly caused most of the ship fatalities.
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped):
Okay there are like 20 cast members and they’re all millions-of-years-old aliens whose sins defy comprehension. It’s Ultra “Minimus Ambus” Magnus.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
Megatron—yes he’s the central plot point of ⅔ of the comic but HEAR me out. Everyone talks about him like he’s some thief of screen time from their fav (Drift, Rodimus) or some point-distorting plot tumor. This is wrong. He’s THE central character and THE most impactful story in the whole comic. The thesis of MTMTE/LL is: what do you do when you’ve gotten everything you ever wanted? Megatron IS the war more than Optimus because he started it in the first place. What was he fighting for? What is left to fight for? How can he be allowed to live with what he’s done? Why should he? The exploration of Megatron’s character and his politics through Shadowplay, Elegant Chaos, Dissolution, and the oneshots forms the backbone of the series even when he’s not on screen! He takes over the entire series and he deserves it. Any amount of appreciation below the maximum is underappreciation.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
Ironically this comic is all about James Roberts’ Glup Shittoes from other series. I’d have to say Impactor (major character in a different series but a ghost in MTMTE) as the anti-Megs more than Mags or OP ever were. Or, Quark for being constantly misinterpreted and being a genuinely very compelling portrait of your Average Citizen. From all his comments he’s…not a revolutionary, but he’s hyperaware of the oppressive structure he lives in and he is very aware of what happens to people who move outside of it. His response is to pass under the radar, never speak up, stay firmly within the structure, and that makes him interesting because he’s not just a shill. He’s a survivor.
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
Megatron and Chromedome are controversial and pathetic respectively. Also Ratchet. It’s a popular opinion to like Ratchet but think he’s overly cruel about belief and undeservedly right. Again, wrong, he’s absolutely right in every sense. He should have been proved right, because he was. Drift was using his (genuine) belief as a way of getting out of tough questions. Ratchet was both right in letter and spirit. Doesn’t matter that Drift was a genuine convert because he was still lying about the rest of it.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
Uhhhhhh Rodimus. Thankfully he’s also the writer’s horse plinko.
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
Also Rodimus, it’s all because of his stans

Tw Death mention
Tw afterlife mention
Hello Johanna I hope you’ve been well.
So I’m pretty sure the only reason I even believe in god anymore is because I fear death so much. I know it’s a childish and superficial reason to believe because I can’t stop death nor can I control what my afterlife will be like.
I really wish I could actually believe in god because I want to follow Jesus and do good and not as some crutch for my death anxiety but honestly I’m just not like that.
So basically how do I make my faith legit?
Hello!
I hear you and I promise that you are not alone in this. Fear of death is a common and overarching experience in literally all of humanity. Some people believe that religion was created in response to this fear! You are allowed to be afraid of death, and you are allowed to let that affect your belief system.
Ideally, fear shouldn't be the main/only time we turn to God, but it often is for so many people! The Bible is full of terrified people using God as their last resort. You have the beautiful instinct to turn to God when you're afraid, and that is the foundation you can base your faith on.
One thing I want to point out is that faith isn't a yes or no thing; it isn't a dichotomy. You don't either have it or you don't; it's not either legitimate or illegitimate. It's something that lives and grows, purposefully and by itself. Wanting to believe, wanting to follow Jesus, is a place to start, not a failure.
Another thing to emphasize is that Christianity isn't just something you think; it's something you do. Following Jesus in the New Testament was very literal: disciples got up, sold their possessions, left their families and hometowns, and went with Jesus. Unless you're called to be a nun/monk, that probably isn't how your faith will progress, but you can let it inspire your journey. Sometimes we sit around thinking about what specifics we believe and how we can "get into" heaven when we need to get up and be a Christian. Theology is interpersonal! This can look like volunteering, supporting friends and family (and strangers on the internet), being active politically, creating art, or studying/reading.
You can't force yourself to believe anything. And you can't force the fear away. But you can follow Jesus, because you know it's the right thing, because it makes you and the world better. You don't have to wait for "legit" faith—you can just start.
I don't know for sure what happens when we die, but I firmly believe that God will be with us. That's enough for me, but I know that that's not enough for everyone—and that's okay. Feel that fear and uncertainty of mortality. Bring that fear to God in prayer.
May God bring you comfort and the courage to move forward in your faith.
<3 Johanna

How would prison abolition deal with murderers, serial killers, paedophiles, torturers, kkk members,neo-Nazis and terrorists? Some people are a legit danger and cannot be allowed to roam society.
So I didn’t answer this at the time, because the anon who sent it is almost definitely the racist troll sending me shit I’m not going to publish (so like uhhh bear that in mind lmao), but I’ve blocked them now and it’s been a few days, so hopefully they’ve fucked off by now. Plus, I’ve been thinking about this question a LOT since before I received it. It’s a question that I think most people have about the concept of prison abolition and reparative justice, and not everyone with these concerns is asking in bad faith. Besides which, with the recent attempted coup and the way it looks like people who participated are actually going to face legal consequences for it (which alone was somewhat surprising to me tbh), I’ve been seeing a lot of leftists discoursing over whether it’s morally okay and intellectually consistent to be happy about cops beating up, killing, and arresting KKK members and Neo-Nazis, so it is now actually topical! Under the cut due to long response~
So the first thing I want to point out, is that literally every single one of the groups of “legit dangers who cannot be allowed to roam society”, are already out there right now. In our current “justice” system, it’s common knowledge that monsters often get off on a technicality, or because they just have the money to throw lawyer after lawyer at the charges, or because they outright bribe someone, or countless other ways to get around the law. You can look on my own literal tumblr blog and watch me argue with grown ass adults who will bold faced admit to consuming child porn with half-assed excuses, and you’ll find more open pedophiles on sites like twitter, reddit, or 4chan, or porn sites where “teen” is usually one of the most popular categories. Besides which, have you ever looked at the average sentences for convicted rapists, wife beaters, or pedophiles, as compared with the sentences for getting caught selling drugs? In middle school I had to walk a mile or two to get to school through a neighborhood we’d been warned had a convicted pedophile in it, who had just been released after less than 15 years. In that same city, I heard a story about a woman shooting and killing her rapist, and prosecutors were discussing giving her the death penalty for it (she was bragging and laughing about it on video, it was definitely premeditated, but still). Have you ever looked at the statistics of how many rapists and abusers aren’t reported, or if they are reported aren’t prosecuted, or if they are are prosecuted with a slap on the wrist (remember Brock Turner????) Also I notice how you didn’t even mention domestic abusers or rapists in your list of people who need to be locked up lolololol shows where your priorities vis a vis “public safety are I’m sorry, but the system just does not work the way you think it does, the we are taught it does.
People who make this argument always act like the systems we have now are efficient and nigh on flawless when it comes to “not letting dangerous people roam society”, but it isn’t and it can’t be and it never will be. That very fact ought to be enough to shake your faith in the idea that society will become a nonstop Purge of indiscriminate violence if everyone who’s committed a sufficiently despicable act of violence isn’t locked up for the rest of their lives -but you might say, “okay, but those are flukes, the system still works because most of the people who are “a danger to society” are usually locked up.” I’m not completely sold that that’s even true (have you ever heard of the opportunities cops had to bring in serial killers and murderers, who just didn’t care enough to try? Jeffrey Dahmer is a good example of this), but I’ll assume it is to move on to my next point.
Even if we assumed that the system as we have it, worked flawlessly as designed, that doesn’t change the fact that a lot of the categories mentioned here are people that are actively running the very systems that this rhetoric is defending. It’s well-documented that American white supremacists of various stripes have infiltrated law enforcement and the military for the express purpose of not just “roaming free”, but getting to exert the power of the State over people of color. Cops and soldiers kill people all the time, and not only are they not penalized, they’re celebrated for it. Agents of the State fucking torture people all the time, and I don’t just mean Guantanamo Bay or war crimes by soldiers; cops have been caught on camera spraying protesters with pepper spray and beating them once they’ve already been handcuffed or while they’re chained to trees or whatever -not because they think they “need” to, because they want to, and they know they’ll get away with it. Cops also systematically torture people in prison with solitary confinement. Heads of state drop bombs on civilians for “politically motivated reasons”, they do all kinds of shit that would be called “terrorism” if anybody but a State did it; and people might disapprove, but they don’t (generally) claim that the politicians and generals who made that call are “a danger to society” that need to get life in prison. If you genuinely believe that whether these acts of violence are “legal” or not changes whether they’re okay, or that a person who engages in illegal violence is “dangerous” but people who engage in legal violence aren’t... I’m honestly not even going to try to refute that here lol, prison abolition is level 5 shit and you’re at level -1, study how authoritarianism in general works before trying to understand prison abolition (not trying to be a dick here, it’s what i would tell my younger self when I believed the same thing).
It simply does not hold up to rational scrutiny to believe that society will collapse into an orgy of violence and mayhem if we abolish prison (or that we’ll have to resort to medieval punishments instead??? lol funny take i remember from some racist troll or other over the years), when those dangers are already present (and in some cases widely celebrated as “heroes” and given the power to indiscriminately brutalize “acceptable targets” with the State’s monopoly on violence) under the current system.
The next thing people need to understand is that contrary to popular belief and despite how counterintuitive it sounds, even the brutality of our current prison system is not an effective deterrent to crime (linked a Guardian article that looks like it has some good info on this, but I recommend a book called Unfair: The New Science of Criminal Injustice by Adam Benforado for more information). Let me say that again: the threat of prison has been empirically shown to be INEFFECTIVE as a deterrent to crime. Do you really think that a serial killer or someone who wants to blow up a building full of people is going to be more likely to follow the law for fear of prison, than regular people doing regular people crimes like selling drugs or getting into drunk fights that go too far?
I don’t think anyone is actually willing to argue that prison “rehabilitates” anyone, or does anything besides make regular criminals into angrier, more antisocial, more desperate criminals with more criminal connections and less options for any kind of a legitimate living, so I’m just going to point out that having such a large prison population arguably creates more people who have shitty lives of poverty and are surrounded by people who are in and out of prison. It’s not like that “makes” anybody into a serial killer, but I feel like you’d have to willfully ignorant to act like it’s not a factor in increasing violent crime in affected community.
So, I’ve so far argued that prison is an ineffective solution to the problems it claims to exist in order to solve, and that in many cases, it actually makes the problems that lead to these sorts of dangerous people (”regular” murderers and the radicalization of Neo-Nazis and KKK members in particular, I think) becoming dangerous, or at least more dangerous, in the first place. What I haven’t done, is talk about what I believe is the real core of the issue when it comes to prison abolition: nobody wants to fucking peacefully rehabilitate these people. I am arguing for a system that would handle these people basically as gently as possible, with the goal of releasing them back into society eventually, and I still believe these things mostly intellectually, not emotionally. I don’t want the men who sexually assaulted me and/or my loved ones to get off scot free (they did, of course, but that’s beside the point), much less serial killers or Nazis, and I’m not about to get on my high horse about wanting revenge on people who’ve committed these kinds of atrocities. The reason I’m a prison abolitionist in spite of these feelings is that I do not believe the desire for revenge, for punishment for punishment’s own sake, is an impulse we should indulge when creating social and political infrastructures that have ultimate power over millions of lives. In the words of someone talking about abolishing the death penalty, the question isn’t “do they deserve to die”, the question is “do we deserve to kill”; and here, the question is not “does anyone deserve to be imprisoned in this system”, the question is “do we deserve to brutalize people in this way for virtually zero practical benefits to our society”. What any person “deserves” is a subjective moral and philosophical question, one that no conceivable human justice system could ever actually answer. We as a society need to build alternatives to prison (and police!) that can actually address these problems, actually prevent the conditions that create and enable monsters, and actually rehabilitate (to whatever extent that is possible) criminals -even the ones we, personally, despise. Any long-term incarceration that may end up being 100% required should be designed to reduce the suffering of the person in it, no matter how despicable of a person they are. Trying to solve “the problem of evil” instead of trying to create a more functional and just society is a fool’s errand that can only lead to more evil existing, in the end.
At the end of the day, the “irredeemable” people you listed off as justifications for the continuing existence of prison, are only a tiny fraction of the people in prison, even the ones with life sentences. A full understanding of the horror and oppression the prison industrial complex enacts on the people in it and their communities (and how the system is designed to make a profit off of human suffering and death) is something you’ll have to read some actual books about in order to acquire. However, I don’t think it’s controversial to say that any horror we as a society deem “acceptable” to do to the worst of the worst, will also be done to regular criminals, as well as to innocent people who are wrongly imprisoned. Any brutality you design with a serial killer in mind WILL eventually be a punishment for a petty thief or drug dealer or sex worker, or a person who didn’t commit the crime they were incarcerated for. Is it really worth it? Is it really, really worth all the misery and oppression prison causes, to satiate our sense of justice? I don’t believe that it is. I believe that we have a responsibility both to the incarcerated and to their communities to base our policies and institutions on actually solving these societal problems however we can, and leaving our “eye for an eye” mentality in the dark ages where it belongs.
If you are interested in prison abolition as a concept, I can recommend some good books on it. You also need to understand that concept of “reparative justice”, which I’ve alluded to here but not really explained because OH MY GOD THIS POST IS TOO LONG ALREADY. Short explanation of it is that it aims to repair the harm done by the crime and rehabilitate the criminal through through therapy and trying to get them to actually understand what they’ve done and empathize with who they’ve hurt, while also providing therapy and resources to the victim of the crime (when it’s something violent and the reparation can’t just be “give them their money back plus extra for damages” or something). The point is not to satiate anybody’s sense of justice or revenge, but to proactively try to solve the problem the crime has caused and prevent the offender from doing it again. It would need to work in conjunction with the abolition of police (and replacement with better infrastructure for the few things cops do that we actually need done) and various other social programs and measures to prevent the circumstances that lead to crime. This sounds like a long shot because it is, but just because it hasn’t been done on a wide scale before doesn’t mean it can’t be, and just because it will be difficult doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing.

Stepping aside from the proship part of the drama, encanto purists have made enjoying the movie a nightmare. Everywhere you go it’s harassment or fear mongering of “this is for such and such you can’t enjoy this unless we’ve deemed it okay if not it’s this because of an American idea of how people and relationships to cultures should be”. I’m not Latina, or poc for that matter, but it seems the loudest people for the discourse are mostly white people talking over poc 😭 they just really don’t care the way they should
bro see this is why i stick mostly to the proship side fo the fandom TT_TT people are so much more chill like seriously one of the nicest fandoms I’ve been in. It’s also where I’ve found most of my fellow sudacas and latinos tbh 👉👈 people on this side legit just don’t care we can just relax and be ourselves. I would LOVE to be more involved in the “normal” side of the fandom because, contrary to popular belief, I greatly enjoy fanwork about normal platonic familial relationships (I just can’t ship brumira dude because, Bruno?? that’s her dad now sorry I don’t make the rules*). But but but... TT_TT ur right anon the “normal” side of the fandom is unbelievable. If they’re not lovingly describing how they want to turture or kill me in my DMs they’re beign horribly racist and homophobic left and right good lord. I have these friends, who are white, who tell me they’d love to participate in the fandom but they’re terrified of the violent reaction these folks will give them.
Honestly, I don’t really care if it’s “poc” or “white” people talking - I care that they listen to latin americans. Anglos will wave around their “poc” card as if that validated all of their takes, but honestly all of the smartest arguments I’ve seen are coming from my latin american mutuals, some of which are white. The thing is that... they actually live here. Living here makes all the difference. I care much less about so and so’s skin color than I do about the language they speak and the country they’re from. This gringo obsession with race is already annoying in most fandoms, but, okay, it may be weird for us but it seems to be working for them. But when they try to apply it to latin american characters and impose it on latin american fans, that’s when I feel the need to speak up.
The thing is... okay I’m latin american, I’m “poc” or whatever gringos call it (god I hate that term tho), I’m queer... so surely, I should be allowed to have my queer headcanons, right? I should be allowed to do whatever I want with this representation, right? But... if I can relax and do whatever I want... then what is  preventing a foreigner from doing the same? What is the difference between me and them? We are all the same. It doesn’t matter that we speak different languages or come from different countries, because what matters is encouraging interculturality, multilingualism, and strenghtening connections between people internationally, not to segregate ourselves into different, fundamentally separated groups. Personally, I find it beautiful that foreigners love Encanto this much. Like, obviously what matters in real life it that they oppose political measures that will harm latin american economies, that they vote for candidates that will not subjugate our lands people and resources to USamerican and european industries etc etc, but... it’s nice to see them love this movie about a latin american family and cherish its characters so much. Idk it just makes me feel appreciated. I’ve talked about it before, how Encanto feels like a love letter to latin americans, because it shows these characters living in so much wealth and comfort and safety and luxury, and it says “this is how you deserve to live!” so yeah I like it when they celebrate that. And some people express their love for characters by slapping a rainbow flag on top lol. I honestly feel more flattered than anything else.
*funnily enough, joking about Bruno being like a dad to Mirabel is also Problematiqué, because “she already has loving parents”, and as everyone knows, AUs are racist or something idk whatever argument they came up with now.

Sexuality & Gender In Columbia
Okay, so this is a frankly huge topic to cover, and because there is so little direct reference to any non-heterosexual/cisgender culture in the games, a lot of this will be me sharing/explaining my headcanons/worldbuilding. My ideas will be based on historical record of LGBT+ struggles at the time (1890-1915) and mostly US-centric, as Columbia seems to be fairly westernized. in addition, I will be focusing purely on the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities to cut down on post size and research time. Here we go!
Note: These all refer to Columbia (Rapture has a separate post) culture in the peak of the city’s life- a snapshot into queer Columbia circa 1910, roughly speaking. As such my talk about the culture is purely as I’d imagine it to be at that specific time only with no details as to the cultural development to that point.

Sexuality In Columbia
If you’re not straight it’s over for you
Quips aside, just from playing the game you can tell Columbia is ruled by the most staunch of conservatism. The Edwardian Era in real-world history made heavy emphasis on modesty and a sense of duty but Columbia takes it a step beyond, and this can be seen in most every example of media or dialogue found in-game. Having such traditional Biblical leanings, it can easily argued that this also extends to sexuality.
Right off the bat, I feel like this is Heterosexual (& Cisgender) Land™. Any other sort of attraction, be it gay, bisexual, or anything else, is considered reckless experimentation at best and ungodly and deserving of punishment at worst. Aside from the religiously-motivated belief that only straight relationships are legit, there’s another reason they’re so heavily emphasized- population growth. Columbia, for all its pomp still has a relatively small population on a national scale- just from some educated guesses I’d put it around the borough to town region, as indicated on the settlement hierarchy of ekistics. While the limited space of the city means that the population can’t just continue to grow, a certain rate of births is needed to keep the population level.
Interestingly enough, even though Columbia is a hotspot of religious zealotry, the city still follows the conventions of Edwardian/Early WWI society- very proper, highly formalized in its ideals. Aside the propaganda and fearmongering, personal details are still taboo in polite conversation.
Cruising is done in places where social conventions are significantly different from formal events or even everyday conventions- namely the beach, pubs and lounges.
In the same vein, hookups, flings, and dates are called vague things like “going out to lunch/drinks”, “going for a stroll” or “having a picnic” and same-gender partners are typically referred to as close friends. It’s all very underhanded, the result of both Edwardian discreetness and closeted language.
Gender In Columbia
Like most of Columbian society, the queer groups in Columbia tend to gather based on gender. Lesbians share space with bisexual women, and gay men stick with bisexual men. As far as trans communities go, however, the cisnormative, rigid interpretation of gender predominant in Columbia means that they tend to be misunderstood among the other queer groups. Typically not in a blatantly hostile way but rather an obnoxiously condescending “poor confused dear” way.
Gender is not so much an identifier as much as an determinator; whatever you are assigned will be the factor driving not only your upbringing but your life choices as well.
There are quite a few social clubs that operate as safe spaces for the community- they typically rotate between the members’ houses and frequently merge or splinter with or from other groups, going from book club, to knitting social to any other politely banal gathering.
For those looking to dress how they’d like in safety, ‘costume clubs’ are popular among gender non-conforming, trans people and those interested in crossdressing. They present themselves as sort of novelty dance halls with every day being a masquerade. While technically legal, their image is strongly connected to immorality and looseness in Columbia and as such they’re rare and subject to higher levels scrutiny then other halls.
Because of the rigidity of the culture, the LGBT+ culture in Columbia uses nonverbal queues to state their identities- for example men place certain flowers in buttonholes or alternatively pin them to their lapels to let outsiders know they’re in the community. Women can put these same blossoms in their hats, brooches and hair. These include flowers such as lavender, violets, pansies, carnations and daffodils.
There are HRT gene tonics for sale- they’re marketed under the guise of improving a woman’s femininity or man’s masculinity, they’re sold in pharmacies in the health and beauty aisles without the need for a prescription. This helps some looking to transition do so much easier, though the issue of financial barriers for those who are younger and/or living in poverty still linger. As far as options like SRS go, the procedure is entirely underground, practiced by surgeons of varying repute. While being able to do so successfully is considered a show of skill, most practitioners and citizens are morally opposed to the idea.
Unlike Rapture, there’s not many fun or quirky terms for LGBT+ citizens. Those with same gender attraction are rudely referred to as “victims of unnatural passions” and those who ID as anything other then cisgender are accused of “falling into delusions of identity”. Among themselves though, WLW call themselves “Lady Lovers of Liberty” (as in the statue based on the Roman goddess Libertas) while MLM call themselves “Sons of Antinous” while trans citizens typically refer to themselves as “Children of Agdistis”. (Note that while Agdistis was portrayed as intersex in Roman mythology, their nonbinary existence and transformative identity made them a relatable icon for most trans people in Columbia)

Hello there, how are you doing?
I wanted to talk, or more like ask your opinions on this topic.
I was changing channels yesterday and stumbled across news- I hardly watch those anymore, it disheartens me most of the time- have you heard how Hindu communities are purposely stopping/interfering when Muslims read Namaz in Gurgaon? The Muslims were alloted 100 places to read Namaz, which by pressure of Hindus have been reduced to 18.
There was an attack in a Church in Uttarakhand two months ago, and the suspects have a relations with BJP and no action has been taken on the case. While some Hindus reported that they were asked to change their religion by the same Church, the owner of Church denies such accusations.
My point while saying all the shit happening in our country?
I am angry, overwhelmed with helplessness. I am angry because this isn't how humans should behave (come on, what happened to live and let live?) and helpless because I can do absolutely nothing to change the situation. It sickens me. I am so disgusted by people who do this. As a society, by each passing day, we are becoming less and less tolerant and respectful towards other people's belief, faith and worship. Secularism is rapidly becoming a concept that is frowned upon, even laughed at.
I'm legit scared that by the time I become a legal adult, the situation will be even worse and it will be too late to stop the hate.
*sigh* Thank you for listening me rant.
Hi sweetie, I have been studying for the past month and been completely ignoring news. I am so sorry to hear all this, I didn't know.
I doesn't surprise me, because its bjp, the center of extremely radicalised hindus. Its sad but we no longer live in the "democratic, free and secular state" that we were taught about in school.
Intolerance and communal sentiments have been on the rise.
I won't lie to you, it is going to get worse. Slowly the hate will grow more. I mean with a massive radicalised, brain washed and stupid youth(20-45) that can't even think for itself, with increasing uncertainty and unemployment crime will increase, and people will turn to political parties that are now just a cult. There is hope, but less.
You can use my inbox any time. you need help and i ll be there to do what i can.
our economy is in shambled, corruption runs unfettered into the mere fabric of our democracy and we our elders who brought this govt into power 7 years ago have failed us as they turned a blind eye to our nations progress. The economy is in shambles, as the common man struggles to breathe and yet the rich watch from their golden thrones as the bodies of those who they exploit drop dead as the media sings laurels in their praise.

Kateis-cakeis my beloved I have a hot take for you to review
I heard someone say that Alivebur abused Tommy, mainly citing that “he belittled him every chance he could”
I think OP was thinking that Alivebur’s “you’re irrational and a child” type comments were being abusive but I think it was mostly him just citing his reasons for things and being honest.
I don’t think Alivebur was ever abusive, but you know quotes better than I.
Hello, Anon, my beloved for calling me my beloved :P
Hi, thank you for the hot take, I will give a quick review right here right now... No. Just simply no. I mean like, sure, Alivebur was very brutally honest, to the point where he was being unkind to Tommy... but abusive??
Part of me thinks that take is just someone picking up words from the fandom and throwing them around, without applying the weight these terms mean. Abuse is a very serious, very specific thing. Alivebur sometimes telling Tommy that he’s jeopardising them is....................... not it.
I mean, sure yeah, the comments sometimes go past Alivebur think Tommy was jeopardising them, but you know, let me get into the quotes I have, specifically the ones this person might be talking about!
“You’re too dangerous. You’re too loud, you talk too much, you’re too loud, you run your mouth.” - (Wilbur’s The Wall: 1:43:14, 29th July)
So here’s one! This is from Day 1 of L’Manberg. You know why Alivebur says this? Because Tommy went after Alyssa to kill her after she burnt the trees down, only for them all to realise it wasn’t her that burnt the trees down. Tommy then says it’s a political attack, to which Alivebur turns around and tells Tommy to go home.
Just after that, he says the above quote. It’s very clear that Alivebur is just saying a truth he believes here, and this is also after Tommy decides to keep his house in the Dream SMP lands, something that makes Alivebur believe he’s not as loyal as the others.
It definitely comes from a place of genuine belief, not belittling him for the sake of it.
Wanna see some genuine concern Alivebur had towards Tommy’s fire, that sometimes makes him dangerous, as said above:
But, Tommy, I’m worried that your fire, the fire in your heart will overtake you.” - (Wilbur’s The Election Campaign: 56:39, 8th Sep)
Here it is! Alivebur believed that the debate that George would eat him alive, because of Tommy’s fire. He had concerns, that came from a good place, that place being that Tommy once lost a life due to his fire. Due to him ‘running his mouth’ as it were.
Actually, Alivebur, when going off to surrender, asked Tommy to come with him but to be quiet and not to run his mouth. But then Tommy does, and the duel happened, and, well...
So, you can see where the harshness comes from, and that it also comes from worry.
So another quote that take may come from is this:
“You’re proving yourself to be too much of a loose cannon, Tommy. I literally can’t- I can’t- Look, there is a reason why you are not the president and never will be.” - (Wilbur’s video Am I the Villain?: 05:36)
This is actually the first time when Alivebur said Tommy would never be President. Before the festival announcement, before Alivebur said it during the ‘let’s be the bad guys’ moment.
You know where he says it first of all? Because Tommy had revealed the tunnels to Quackity, and Alivebur and Tubbo were desperately trying to block it off so that Quackity would not find Pogtopia.
Except Tommy kept trying to reconnect the Prime Path, which, you know, was putting them in danger. Alivebur then tells Tommy to not come to the announcement. An argument ensues, and Alivebur says the above quote as Tommy is speaking over him. It was legit in the heat of that moment, when he said Tommy would never be President.
And you can see why Alivebur would think that. Tommy has just put all their lives at risk, and that loose cannon-ness becomes too much for him.
Alivebur knows what it takes to be in charge, and we know from Ghostbur that a lot of what we saw, was him controlling his emotions in front of others - when all he would do when alone was cry into a pillow.
This moment is why Alivebur later says:
“Tommyinnit, you’re scared that people are gonna think differently of you. Tommy, when I said you’re never gonna be president, you gotta understand, that wasn’t a challenge, that’s true. You’re never gonna be president, Tommy.” - (Wilbur’s video Am I the Villain?: 19:39)
He’s not saying it randomly, he’s not saying it to belittle or keep Tommy in his place, he’s not saying it to manipulate... In fact, he says why he’s saying it. Because to him, it’s true. He’s not pushing Tommy down, he’s not projecting his own fears, he’s stating a truth he’s believed from the beginning.
This wasn’t new. This wasn’t some revelation he had, it’s something that’s been there, in that relationship, since the beginning. That no matter how much trust Alivebur put in Tommy, he saw him as dangerous and a loose cannon.
Hell, he even says again, after the festival, why Tommy couldn’t be president:
“Unfortunately though for you, Tubbo, Tommy isn’t as mature. See, that’s why he can’t be president. He follows his emotions too strongly, he gets too angry at things.” - (Wilbur’s The Festival: 1:26:17)
See? It’s not even interpretation. Alivebur says it himself why he believes it to be true, because at that point in time, all Alivebur knew was a Tommy that did follow his emotions very strongly, and who did get angry at things. That’s just part of what Alivebur believed him to be back in those days.
That doesn’t make it abuse.
And that’s about all the quotes I have from my masterpost!!! At least those that I thought seemed like what that kinda take could be thinking about.
As an Alivebur analyst, who likes to believe I know the character well, all these quotes show that Alivebur was speaking truth. There lacks intention here, and shows that in some cases, Alivebur is acting as a leader, trying to keep him people safe.
And yeah, while it may be hard to admit, in these days, Tommy could be dangerous, and his careless talk (like Alivebur mentioned during the tunnel incident) did put lives at risk.
The abuse takes really come from fanon interpretation from what I’ve seen, and that just... hurts. Like being mean sometimes, being truthful with harsh truths especially, was just part of who Alivebur was with people sometimes. A lot of it seems to come from him as a leader, and occasionally just him.
But god, I’m sick of the abuse takes. I’m here, sitting on a pile of quotes screaming ‘look!’, yet it’s not enough. I rewatch the streams, I remember the context of each of every quote, and always mention the context when I use one, and still....
Still it seems my work doesn’t even leave a dent XD Maybe one day the fandom can learn that fanon is not canon :PPP But yeah, that’s my take on that take, Anon.
Feel free to send another ask in, I would like to know your thoughts on what I’ve said! :)!

I was attending my literacy class the other day and we were discussing media and politics and the different controversies reflected through literature. One of the things that stood out to me was how openly we talked about certain controversial topics, in comparison to the Christian community I live in. I realized how deeply rooted ignorance is in modern day religions.
Many highly conservative christians (even those who are less conservative) forbid their children from learning about other religions in school. From the perspective of these conservatives, they are doing this to preserve the child's innocence, to keep them from being exposed to "ungodly" things. The problem with this is that it is of uttermost importance to learn about other religions from a young age so that one can respect other individuals regardless of their religious beliefs. I feel like it's such a simple concept; the schools aren't trying to convert your child to another religion, they're just trying to make your child be a better contribution to society one day.
But I then realized why nobody sees it like this, it's because CHRISTIANS HATE OTHER RELIGIONS. And I'm not overexaggerating. How many times haven't I heard a christian being prejudice towards someone from literally any other religion or even towards people who aren't religious. My friend and her father literally stopped hanging out with our friend group because literally EVERYBODY had an issue with them being atheists. It's just so dumb, it makes me mad. And not just that, how many times haven't I heard someone literally making fun of another religion. Like how would you feel if someone made fun of your religion? "But the difference is that they're worshipping a dead god". Legit everyone believes their god is real, so the only thing to do is just respect each other. How hard could it be?

I'm gonna go off about the fucking idiot parents who don't vaccinate their children for a quick sec--
I'm an American, for reference. I worked in the office of a public elementary school for about two years; one of the most important aspects of my job was making sure every student enrolled had their vaccinations up to date -- the vaccinations that are REQUIRED by the Los Angeles Unified School District. I needed official government vaccination cards.
Obviously, there are children/people who've got medical conditions which make immunizations impossible because they are too dangerous to administer.
This is a big factor when it comes to WHY it is so important that every child who can safely receive their vaccinations DOES receive them. Apart from the obvious POINT of vaccination, the reality is that there are children who cannot be safely vaccinated. When a parent chooses not to vaccinate a child who can safely receive vaccinations, they obviously not only put their own child at risk, but put the children who CANNOT receive vaccinations at an incredible risk. And that is so selfish, irresponsible, and reprehensible.
Not that all this is news to anyone, specifically to Americans. But what I wanted to say is, as someone who had to ensure each student at our school was immunized, I encountered the most NEGLIGENT CASES OF TOTAL FUCKING BULLSHIT.
I couldn't even keep count of the number of parents who forged documents from pediatricians "excusing" their children from being vaccinated. There were so many. I encountered at LEAST over thirty during the course of my two years in that position. There were a lot of letters haphazardly scrawled by nurses and PAs; there was no point in even determining whether or not these were fakes, as we required a signed document from an MD (which we investigated to make certain it was legit), stating specifically why the child was unable to receive vaccinations. There were parents who cited HIPAA, making the claim that they legally did not have to disclose the medical reason for their child's inability to be vaccinated. Uh, NO. At least within LAUSD -- to be clear, I only have experience within that school district -- there MUST be a written statement from an MD as to why, specifically, a child cannot receive vaccinations. The common line -- through a forged document, or real document by an MD who had no business having a license -- was, "The child's family has a history of negative reactions to vaccinations." Bitch, you and the other thirty parents I've had this battle with.
(There were three parents who handed me letters from CHIROPRACTORS???)
The craziest thing to me is that American anti-vaxxers are typically politically liberal. Up until the Covid-19 pandemic, it was rare for conservative-leaning Americans to go on anti-vax crusades... then fucking Dipshit T**** did his whole deal, yadda yadda, the right-wing media fed their followers poison, blah blah blah, we all know this, America's burning itself into the ground; that's an entirely separate discussion. I'm not even going to touch that.
I'm not talking Covid here; I'm talking the basic vaccinations all children should receive. In order to not, like, CONTRACT FUCKING POLIO????? You dig me?????
I suppose I'm maybe writing this to explain this idiocy to non-Americans. Or to try to express, even to Americans, just how many parents won't vaccinate their kids from my first-hand experience as an administrator at an elementary school. It's just so wild to me that so many liberal parents have this blatantly scientifically incorrect idea that vaccinating their children will harm them (excluding the children who legitimately cannot safely receive vaccinations, obviously). And the most EGREGIOUS misconception of all, is -- you guessed it! -- the belief that vaccinations "cause" autism.
I am autistic, which makes this that much more abhorrent to me. You do not "contract" autism; it is not a disease. Those who are neurodivergent are BORN neurodivergent; it's the way our brains developed. It's not "bad", it's not a goddamned "pandemic", it's not anything that can be "cured". And, okay, THAT'S ALSO ANOTHER ENTIRELY SEPARATE TOPIC THAT I WILL NOT DELVE INTO.
God. I've typed this all out and have lost my own plot. I've been up for two days taking care of my mother who is ill, and I'm verging on Extremely Loopy. I saw a post asking Americans about vaccinations by someone whom I assume is not American, and felt the need to try to explain what the fuck is up and that not all Americans are that stupid.
But if there's any conclusion to what I've violently banged out here, it's this: We had a student die of a disease they were legitimately unable to be vaccinated for. They most likely contracted it from a classmate whose parent got away with slipping their kid into school unvaccinated through a doctor who had a deadly moral ineptitude.
(In looking up a specific pediatrician who was signing kids off willy-nilly, I found a Yelp page crowded with parents praising the fact he would write vaccination "excuses", no questions asked.)
Okay. I don't know. I don't know if this is helpful or informative in any way, or if it's just me spurting my frustration at criminal parenting through a caffeinated knock-off La Croix haze in my exhaustion and recent stress. And probably no one will read it.
And I swore a whole fucking lot. Fucking sorry about that.

Can you imagine his singing devils advocate, holy shit he’d look so good MA’AM PLEASE
YOU CANNOT TELL ME THAT HE WOULDN’T DRESS LIKE HARRY STYLES
He’s still shy and still has stage fright the first few times but your his lead guitar player (dated before the band was together)
Mirio is on the drums while Nejire is the bass player
It’s so hard not to pounce on him once he gets into his music like wow
ESPECIALLY IF HE SUNG DEVILS ADVOCATE
You guys wear a matching matte black rings and people assume you’re married, y’all never say no so you’re gonna let people assume bc you’re fine with it.
You used to be a tattoo artist so many tattoos Tamaki has or will have, it’s done by you, he won’t want
After every set he’ll either kiss you or your hand, it just depends if you go straight into the next set or not
He sings pretty boy dedicated to you bc if it where all to end, he’d be okay if it was by your side
The fans either ship you or they don’t
It’s a little hard thinking that people don’t think you’re a good match but Tamaki always says that you’re his angel and he’d never fall in love with anyone else bc you’re his soulmate
Some fans ship him with mirio and they both think its funny bc they’ve been best friends since they where kids so they don’t have a problem
But Tamaki does not, DOES NOT like it when they ship him with Nejire. Not that he doesn’t like her bc she, along with mirio, got him out of his comfort zone a lot (in a good way).
He sees the way you’re smile fades when you see a post about their ship, people saying that they look good and all. It’s gotten to a point of wanting to break up with Tamaki just to make a handfull of fans happy
You’d do anything for his music to rise up the ranks, even if it meant losing your relationship
You’ve gone to mirio sobbing about this, it kinda hurt Tamaki that you didn’t go to him but you just couldn’t face him without the reminder of those stupid post
There was one day where a post said “look at the way he looks at her, he looks at her like he’s in love with her.” You looked at the picture for a long time and didn’t even realize the water works
You didn’t really mention it to anybody but when tamaki sang pretty boy, everyone could tell that it had a different feel to it
the set was over and before tamaki could look at you, you had already gone off the stage and ran towards the back locking yourself into the bathroom and kinda just letting it all out
god you hated this feeling, the ache in your chest
Tamaki basically broke into the bathroom and froze when he saw you crying. He was so worry and so angry at the same time.
You both ended up crying on the bathroom floor together proclaiming your love for each other in such a snotty mess that it ended in laughter.
After that incident there was a long thread tweet of Tamaki explaining politely why he doesn’t like when people ship him with someone else other than his s/o or mirio (bc you don’t mind it either) people could tell that he was angry through the tweet and it was a lil scary bc tamaki DOES NOT GET ANGRY
anygays- angst is over, sorry very self-indulgent.
YOU CANNOT TELL ME THIS MAN DOESN’T SMOKE DUE TO ANXIETY
You guys have 21+ concerts bc it’s those type of concerts where u can smoke weed legally and drink
SHOT GUN SMOKE WITH TAMAKI HOT HOT HOT
Tamaki’s a lil high so he does it with mirio too and u end up doing it with nejire (your relationship def gets a lot better after the whole shipping situation bc yall talk about it and nejire ends up outing herself to you guys as a lesbian)
so if you’re a girl, Tamaki will def. tell her to watch herself when it comes to his girl but if you’re a dude- you guys are like oh... cool, good for you.
MMM  tourbus sex
YOU CANNOT TELL ME THAT AS A BAND YALL DIDN’T DO SOMETHING TOGETHER
you don’t Nejire anywhere near Tamaki tho, def a small cat fight while it happens
TAMAKI GOT REALLY JELOUS WHEN MIRIO KISSED YOU OH MAN
Tamaki def fucked you several times while Mirio was listening bc TAMAKI WANTS HIM TOO KNOW WHO YOU BELONG TOO (cannon amajiki is a bottom and probably a pillow prince but fannon tamaki is a switch but in my head in this au TAMAKI IS A HARDCORE TOP)
Several occasions where you have to sit down during concerts bc tamaki ruined you minutes beforehand
FOR A FUCKING FACT yall do it in the dressing room and he just cums inside you and slips you’re underwear back on minutes before set AND U HAVE NO TIME TO CLEAN YOURSELF SO YOU’RE LIKE FUCK
mmm i love me some dom tamaki
Okay lets get to award shows
B E S T D R E S S E D C O U P L E A W A R D
its something like this:  female / male
if y’all win something tamaki will NOT speak, way too many people are looking at him at the moment and he almost died during the pictures.
“some many flashing cameras”
holds your hand tighter and y’all ask to get escorted out
If y’all live together like only you and him, you’re house def is the definition of dark decor
if you guys every do get married, you aren’t getting a live band, everyone thought you did but it turns out it’s you guys in wedding attire- they love it.
Also very small wedding, somehow able to hide it from the pap and its like 50 people or so, mostly friends and like 1/3 family
100% LIKE PEWDIEPIES WEDDING. very very private but very nature/dark decor
do y’all get wedding tattoos. yes. but not matching, not really.
do y’all tattoo each-other at the wedding... yes.
on your ring finger you have a sun and he has the moon.
you are the light that guides his threw the darkness  and he is your sun, always lighting up your life you know bc the sun lights up the moon
y’all just love eachother sorry
you don’t break up and y’all don’t expect to
BABIES Fem version
do you still play while pregnant yes
are people surprised, yell yeah
you gotta sit down tho bc your feet are killing you
around the 6 to 9 month mark, the band goes on a break tamaki ends up going solo for a bit during the break and he makes you sing with him AND WOW do you get a larger fanbase bc of it. yes
angelic voice of a pregnant mother
it made tamaki horny, like how the fuck are are you so fucking great at fucking everything please let me fuck you god please
will whine, WILL CALL YOU MOMMY god yes
BABIES Male version.
Yall really wanted to adopt w one baby but the baby you liked had a twin so youre like HOW CAN U TAKE ONE AND NOT THE OTHER
they are twins but ones a boy and one is a girl
god you love them with all your heart
BABIES IN GENERAL (fem version yall have twins too, boy and girl)
they grow up to be band geeks, yall love it but your boy learns piano and the girl ends up playing the guitar (def not the outcome you guys thought it would be but you really dont care)
Let set names Mizuki for a girl, Haru for a boy. (legit beautiful moon and the sun)
Mizuki is very alternative meets fairy academia/ loves plants. probably a baby witch: has the same attitude as Tamaki
Haru is Dark Academia meets city pop / loves record, old gadgets and reading books: very much more like their other parent
If y’all ever retire to just making music at home the kids are def. gonna take the band name and just put “The new gen” after it. You guys make fun of them for being unoriginal and they get pouty
but they had you guys crying the first time they got a gig. they both sing, make music like billie and finneas and y’all just so proud.
when you guys start getting older they will take you to award shows as their date to flex the fact that they are gen celebs who actually made something off of their parent success unlike some people
y’all just flex you’re kid bc they doing so well
just for shits and giggles (kids are like 22 at this point, you guys are like 46) :
Haru would probably get a girl pregnant during a one night stand and end up in a baby daddy situation
Mizuki probably steals Tamakis weeb and smokes it w lavander, you catch her and you’re like.... is it good? mother/father daughter smoke sesh
Haru is like “where’s mom, i need her to run by some notes- are you guys smoking? I’m telling dad.”
“It’s not like you’re dad doesn’t smoke either.”
Haru and Mizuki are like “WHAT?! SINCE WHEN?!”
“Since always... how’d you think he got over his stage fright? It’s not like i could go down on you’re dad every time before a concert to lift his nerves.”
Fake gagging from the two kids.
You guys a def the parents who kinda don’t care about your image but you don’t let your kids go off easy
They are good kids who kept good grades and never got caught while doing trouble- so they are well respected and have liberty to do what they like.
There ends up being an article about your family and the cover is you guys- all of you with your nails painted and eyemakeup
very very controversial interview with strict and non liberals calling you guys bad parents and such
and you guys also talked about the topic about how you cared for your children. explaining that you guys stopped smoking, stopped drinking, kept a healty diet until they where 15. once they became 18 it was a very open enviroment, letting your kids grow the way they want and not suffocating them. not shoving down their beliefs and likes- they grew up the way they wanted to with the care of their parents.
parents kinda hate you ngl, yall too great sksksksk
yall also play the game where they ask you questions and if you don’t answer you have to take a shot
Mizuki: “Oh ew, please don’t answer this question... Have you ever had- *clears throat* have you guys ever had sex while we where in the house
Tamaki gets all red and shoves a shot down your throat and now you don’t get to answer “But I wanted to answer!” Haru is cringing hard and he takes a shot himself “You guys are gross”
Haru asks a question and just HATES IT “Oh god... Okay- Only because I wanna know I’m asking parent number 2 (you’re parent #2) Is the rumor of you guys doing the dirty with your band true. Did you guys have an orgy.”
You start to laugh your ass off but Mizuki and Tamaki are looking at eachother bc they cant believe they’ve done this Haru def is out of his shy bubble and now Mizuki has it
“You want a shot papa?” She asked tamaki, he just nodds and she fills it to the brim, “I think thats enough.” But before he’s able to reach for it, She shoots it down and put another one full for him
“Oh yeah, that’s true. Kinda i guess, it wasn’t really an orgy- It was more like two couples doing it in the same room while doing it but you’re uncle mirio did kiss me.”
Kids: Forever gagging
Tamaki: Forever blushing
You: Ah sweet memories :)

I need support/advice.
TW: ableism, racism, stalking, abusive relationships, incest, CSA, rape, emotional abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, suicide attempt, transphobia
I don’t know how to feel like with my mom. I’m just so confused.
Because for so often I idealized her and thought she was the best thing ever.
My life has never been what anybody would consider very well. In my childhood, I actually didn’t have much of an opinion about my mom, since she was being abused by my dad the majority of the time he was home. And, even when he wasn’t, she mostly paid more attention to my twin sister, or at least that’s what I think. I have always been considered a daddy’s girl against my own will. Also, my mom seems to almost be in denial that I was also miserably abused by my father like her and my sister. Then again, I haven’t told people that my dad raped me multiple times and tried to sell me to sex work out of fear that nobody will believe me.
My sister’s abuse of me is only acknowledged by my sister. I remember that my mom even encouraged her to hit me with a textbook once because I made a sassy comment about knowing her favorite character would die in a video game. Whenever I try to bring it up, I get told to forgive my sister, something not even my sister wants me to do for her actions back then. This adult lasted until the two of us were sixteen years old and had no choice but to rely on each other. I was also made into a second mother of sorts for my sister, and always had to take care of her needs whenever nobody else could or would. It was exhausting.
When I was eleven, I was also groomed into an abusive relationship with my cousin, and at least my mom tried to put a stop to that even though she doesn’t fully realize that we were romantic before he tried to rape me multiple times and began stalking me (my mom even admits that she is a very naïve person and doesn't like to see the truth). I bring this up because I am being forced to move close by a lot of my abusive relatives by my mother, including my cousin who still wants me (I am 22 by the way and he’s a year older than me). Also, my mom refuses to stop talking about how she thinks it’s okay for cousins to date and marry even though I have told her multiple times it makes me severely uncomfortable since my grandparents almost forced me into marrying my cousin using legal loopholes.
My mom is also very ableist and racist. She continues to use the r slur around me even though I also keep telling her that I’m uncomfortable by it and it legit triggers me because of my severe school trauma. Also, makes a lot of hateful comments about people with Autism, and I have Autism but hide it from her (along with me hiding my OSDD because of her hateful comments towards systems). And she won’t stop talking about the typical racist talking points. Stealing jobs, being inferior, using slurs, etc. And, whenever I try to express my mixed Roma culture, she uses slurs and refuses to understand or listen to me when I tell her what she’s doing is wrong. With her views, I live in absolute terror every day that she’ll find out my true political beliefs, and this has been going on for six years.
My problems keep getting downplayed next to my sister’s, especially since when she tried to commit suicide but luckily didn’t succeed. I keep getting forced to do things and yelled at when I don’t. I keep getting told that I’m a burden and useless because I had to quit my job because of our move and my worsening mental health, then by told sorry later and bombarded with attention. I keep getting told I have to do everything for my sister, and we have a pretty codependent relationship. Also, I have been told for pretty much ever since I was a child that I was a waste of money and my mom especially loves bringing up that she went 10,000 dollars in debt during my middle and high school years to feed me.
I just...she’s the only person in my family that hasn’t been absolutely horrible to me. But now I have more exposure to the real world, people aren’t supposed to act this way. It’s more like my mom was the least bad option. I’m just so confused. Then again, I do have a really bad habit of sticking with abusive people until I finally snap out of it. Even now I feel guilty for telling the truth out of fear of making my mom look bad.
Sorry if this is a little bit too heavy for this blog. I just needed to put this out there somewhere. I don’t know what to do. If things get too bad with the moving situation, I do have a plan with one of my friends to move in with him, but that’s only if things get really bad. Because my family also likes to stalk people that try to leave them, make their lives absolutely horrible, and force them back.
If you want to know, I have OSDD, ADHD, Social Anxiety Disorder, CPTSD, OCD, AFRID, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Autism. I was also forced to stop therapy recently.
--Raven (she/they)
Also, I’m genderfluid and my mom is transphobic but thinks she’s not because she has a trans friend and uses the right pronouns. She, however, forced me to tell my trans friend’s dead name to her and doesn’t accept nonbinary and genderfluid people. Also she really hates pansexual people, and keeps trying to convince me I'm sexually attracted to others even though I'm openly panromantic asexual with her (but not openly genderfluid). And my mom really likes telling me stuff about her sexual habits that I do not need to know (she did this even when I was a kid).
Hi Raven,
I'm so, so sorry you're going through that. That sounds like such a difficult situation to be in and I appreciate your courage and vulnerability sharing that with us.
There's really a lot to unpack there, and a lot of really messed up and difficult things you've experienced. Your pain is valid, your frustration is valid, and your trauma is valid. You should not have had to go through all of that.
Are you able to move in with the friend even if the move doesn't go badly? Are there any support services in your area (you can google "family violence support resources [your location]") that you can access? They may be able to help you find things you need, and if your family tries to stalk you or force you back, they may be able to help you get a restraining order or find ways to hide from them/stop them from being able to find/contact you.
