About your language brainrot. I see your "Reader's writing can't match tyvat's long and flowery writing" and bring you "Tyvat isn't used to books over 50 pages long so a short story to the Reader is a whole dictionary to tyvat readers".

Seriously, have you seen how thin the books are? They don't wrote novels, they write short chapters formatted in the way really old stories are. As in, summarizing all the events down into one smooth story then adding a few quotes. Fanfiction writers are insane. They will willingly sit down and write hundreds of words at a time. To them, a proper modern day story of maybe, oh 10k words or so, would probably be like the Oddessy itself.

If we were to combine the two headcanons. It would end up as many historians being intimidated by this insanely long written scripture in the language of the forgotten.

I'm going to take this a step further and say that if the creator asked some people to proofread their things, it would establish a hiarchy of who is able to actually finish the book the creator read and who isn't.

Chaol was absent bc his path veered from that of the "main" charaters doesn't mean Elain is absent for the exact same reason. Sjm doesn't write her stories like some unchangeable mathematical equations.

Contains minor hofas spoilers in regards to Elain and draws conclusions for Az from SJMs Live HOSAB spoiler interview in regards to the characters wondering "if Bryce can enter their world, who else can?" Not an actual spoiler for this book though.

Chaol - absent from the book before TOD because he was on a boat headed to do important things for his own arc and for the peace of their world, something that was set up in previous books.

Elain - absent from CC because some think she's sitting around in the NC, doing what exactly? Then will jump in as FMC of an E/riel book though she has absolutely no connection to anything related to the crossover, or the Illyrians?

SJM might not necessarily write the exact same thing for her characters but she does make an effort to make things make sense.

She's not going to write Elain as the FMC of the next book and have her deal with a storyline that she has given us no hints of Elain being connected too.

That's why so many E/riels were convinced of her acting like a mystic in CC3, so that Elain would then be connected to the time travel stuff.

That's why so many E/riels were convinced she'd end up visiting Hel, so that she'd be connected to the time travel stuff.

Before, E/riels knew SJM was going to have to involve Elain in the crossover in order to tie her into Az's future storylines, and now they're simply back pedaling, saying whatever they can to still make E/riel make sense.

But I think most realize that the only way Elain gets the next book is if she's already off in a different court and SJM fills in the 6-9 month gap between SF and the events of the crossover, or if SJM starts her journey with Lucien which occurs simultaneously with the events of the crossover. Where they resolve the issues in Spring, with Beron and Koschei and the continent, and manage to get the peace treaty signed and on a later visit to the NC, the Inner Circle then fills them in on the details of the events of the crossover which might set up for Az's future journey (issues with the Illyrians and I'm guessing based on SJM's live interview, any concerns with others entering. Again, not a spoiler, just based off what the author told us a year ago).

What doesn't work is for SJM to have benched Elain, had her completely absent (even during the scene where Bryce first arrived in Prythian) and had her sister accompany Az if Elain is truly part of the IC like some claim.

Gwyn is still in the library so her absence makes sense, but in SF it's already been established that she's helped with research on other worlds so Az has a valid reason to meet with her to gather information if as SJM said, the crossover will set up for future ACOTAR books.

So we now have two characters who form a possible endgame pairing who we can easily find ways to connect to that path.

But if she goes that route, it doesn't resolve the Beron, Koschei, Spring stuff and we already know of two characters who are mates who are connected to that path.

Elain is connected to Koschei through her visions and her mate.

Connected to Vassa through her visions and mate.

Has struggled with losing her humanity and her mate was living in the human lands, in a house gifted by her ex.

She's connected to Spring when you consider all the hints in SF "Spring had been made for someone like her, her sisters delicate scent a promise of Spring, Nesta would have told her to visit".

She's not connected to the Illyrians. Like, at all.

Not connected to time travel. At all.

You'd think if some actually liked Elain's character, they'd pay a bit more attention to how SJM has set up her character and the plans SJM has been hinting at for her.

She was absent in the townhouse scene of the crossover.

Maybe it's time for some to admit that Elain has nothing to do with any of these things because she's not staying in the NC and not ending up with Az.

MMPPHHHH ok fandoms biggest fucking issue is that they deeply downplay Aziraphale's awareness of Heaven being shitty and that he's naive and unaware — um he's fucking not! Just bc he says Heaven is light and good doesn't mean he believes it! And no, he wasn't protected from how awful Heaven can be, HE LITERALLY WORKED UNDER THEM FOR 6000 YEARS THERE IS NO PROTECTION. I don't think Crowley even protected him from Heaven that they think he did, if anything Aziraphale is the one who gets established that he protects Crowley from Hell's side bc he provides him occasional temporary refuge that is the bookshop! Not to mention, Aziraphale was already nervous and scared since Before the Beginning about Heaven — THAT MEANS HE ALREADY FUCKING KNOWS HOW AWFUL HEAVEN IS FROM THE START.

Even then! It deeply downplays Aziraphale's decision in the Final Fifteen by framing it as naivety or that he's been coddled like what the fuck?? 💀 The fact Aziraphale has full awareness of how horrible Heaven can be is exactly why he went back!! The information he's lacking is that he thinks the system is flawed, what he's about to learn is that it's working as intended!!

5 things they usually see:

A practice target (often those poor bots). His greatest fear is failure - a missed shot. It could determine the fate of his teammates or the world, so it cannot happen (again). As a result, he spends ungodly amounts of time training and working out. No mistake will be repeated on his watch.

Wildlife! It's already established that he enjoys photographing nature, so I imagine that he see trees, flowers and animals quite often.

Chess boards and pieces. He's a pretty avid chess players (same with Cypher so I imagine those two compete as often as Sova can stand the information broker).

Guns and other weapons. I HC him as being military/special ops then onto whatever the Brotherhood is. And before then I HC his family to be a military family so he's grown up seeing guns, learning how to use them... and using them himself.

Various shades of blue. I think it's a top 3 favourite colour of his (looking at the clothes he wears outside his armour). But I like to think that he got his walls painted blue at the protocol. And that he got some say in what he would wear out on his missions and whatnot. (because if we're being honest, if he does work up north in snow and stuff as shown in his card, he should be wearing arctic camo).

4 things they usually feel:

The cold. He grew up in a cold place and like his voiceline on icebox, he enjoys the cold as well. For the most part, he doesn't mind it, but when he's out for a long time, he does enjoy the warmth of a fire, or just a heated room.

The calluses on his hands and the weight of his bow. He's been trained since young with the bow and arrow, so his skin is not soft, and it's not perfect. However, it is who he is, so when he makes a fist or absentmindedly rubs his hands together, he feels them quite often. It's a permanent reminder of who he is.

His wet hair as he leaves the shower + all the cleaning and brushing he does for it. I think that he takes special care of his hair because it's like the one part of him that "stayed the same" throughout his life, or that it's the only thing that can't be scarred. He must have so many scars around his body (though I sometimes write him to have none bc he's that OP :p) and then he lost his eye, so the fact that his hair can still stay nice and soft must be something to treasure :))

The sore feeling you get after a workout. Whether he was injured on a mission or just after a hard day, he can feel that stiffness. Maybe there are days he wishes he was a radiant. Maybe then, all the physical strains he takes on wouldn't hurt as much. He knows the soreness will only get worse, no matter how great he is at keeping in shape. And that's when his admiration for Brimstone gets stronger because that man has been working through this for decades longer than he has.

3 things they usually hear:

His electro music. I'd like to think that maybe, the reason why he likes that genre more (from what you can hear on the playlist for him) is because the drums are softer/rounder. A loud hit on a snare might make him tense up a little too much because it can sound like a gunshot.

His breathing, and his efforts to control it. Snipers have to work to control how they breathe, so as he settles down into a sniper's position, he needs to be extra aware of his breath. Also, in worse times, he needs to calm himself down when he has a nightmare intense enough to make him jolt upright in the middle of the night. Thoughts of losing his eye again, or a mission that was failed because of his action - or lack of action, sometimes plague him, and he hates how he loses control for those few moments.

A cold wind/nature. I've already talked about him being out in the world and enjoying cold weather, but he likes to be closely attuned with all the possible and plausible sounds of nature. Not only is it a good way to calm himself down, but it's also great training. When he's alone out on a mission, he needs to know what are normal sounds and what could be an enemy trying to sneak up on him.

2 things they usually smell:

Nice, warm, tea in the morning. He would never admit it, and Cypher has no proof, but it is him that sometimes takes Cypher's teas. Especially when he doesn't have any of his own available at that moment.

Metal/nothing. Not metallic as in blood, but as in the general iron smell of a gun or his bow. It's clean and isn't really reflective of the scents in his everyday surroundings, which is what I mean by nothing. He can smell food, gas, or whiffs of perfume as he travels around cities. He can smell flowers, trees, and nature when he's outdoors. He can't smell anything in that armoury as he prepares to leave on a mission.

1 thing they usually taste:

Blood. I know it's kind of a cop out for any agent, but I think Sova more than most (maybe not deadlock or brimstone) just due to his history in this line of work. He has lived through war, assassinations, and straight fist and knife fights. He has hit others, and inadvertently tasted a bit of blood splatter, or he has been hard enough to taste some of his own blood in his mouth. I think he might be a medium steak kinda guy if he does go out because he doesn't want to be reminded of anything while enjoying a meal. Though, there are times where he's in that sort of mood and will order something medium rare and let himself taste just that little bit of blood.

@ 💥 anon: you're the sweetest! thank you so much for your kind response! for context: essentially anon was asking abt the last nesta post i just made, not to give too much away lol but in short: they are vaguely anti nesta and would just like my opinion and they were literally the kindes and i appreciate that!

i definitely can understand where your frustrations lie, and I've always said that if a character reminds u of something unsavory, that is enough to want to do away with the character. its not anyone's place to argue someone's experience and how it informs their reading into a character. so i read that, and i respect your opinion in regard to that.

and my argument - as you can see through my page or if u followed me on m last blog - has always been the problem with abuse. i don't really believe the story commits to what it wants abt nesta: does it thinks she's abusive? broken? how does the book want to contextualize her behaviors? it just doesn't know what it wants. i have several theories for this: (1) tamlin/rhys as an abusive allegory fails. the story shoots itself in the foot with how it wants to root out, punish or categorize abuse. how much does intention and trauma factor into how we respond to abuse? what is the function of trauma in relation to abuse. like for rhys - the story could have easily positioned him as someone who has to learn rather than someone who is already knowledgeable of 'human' ideals of power and control. it also doesn't know how to inform rhysand's actions without justifying them. we know why rhys does things, but that doesn't mean that (1) it's a good enough excuse for characters in world and (2) that it doesn't still say something abt him. (3) that readers will come away with opinions that match what they're told. hence the idea of a grey character. their actions are debatable.

and this just bleeds into all other characters, especially characters positioned as more 'grey'.

in my opinion, the story would have worked better if it honestly and consistently stuck with nesta as a abusive person. the story has nesta go on these 'redemptive' journies and it doesn't even want to commit to a reason as to what she needs to redeem herself for. the story is too moral for its own good. and i think characters like rhys, nesta, and feyre suffer for it. like SF spends so much time running in circles trying to avoid why it even exists. it won't let feyre be part of the process, it won't let the sisters have a conversation, it won't root out the issue at hand, so it gives these placeholders such as the valkyries and the training to avoid having to address the mess of character dynamics.

like intention and goodwill don't negate abuse. objectively these actions are just abusive all the way around, but then the story doesn't commit to a framework so we get these placeholder arguments like : "rhys abused feyre for her personal gain, and tamlin and nesta abused her for their own selfish reasons." that is an arbitrary framework to measure abuse - its subjective. and its easily manipulated in arguments.

and if a character like feyre wants revenge - the story should just have her do that and let the reader come away with what they think that means for her character. objectively - it would be abusive, but if the story isn't operating in a moral sandwich and allows characters to make decisions based on their own personal goals, then it wouldn't really be a problem.

but the story doesn't do that and so it keeps replicating the same environments of abuse, and it doesn't see a problem bc it has established nesta as bad. and bad means she can't be a victim in any capacity,

and then we get arguments like the one i was addressing in my initial post that almost can't acknowledge that cassian is abusive to nesta bc it wants to believe that nesta's power in one dynamic equals to power in another. or -- we've created this conundrum of arguments that can't truly be addressed bc the underlying problem will be much more apparent. if cassian is abusive, then rhys is, and so on.

i think you'll find that we agree on much more than u think anon, i just think people have isolated themselves into corners of the fandom and have created these ideas that acknowledgement of one thing negates another. we can argue that nesta abused feyre, but we can also argue that nesta was a victim of cassian and of rhys.

like cassian's actions towards nesta are just abusive. and the story just passively allows it to happen bc it (1) believes violence and sa are conduits of redemption (e.g. rhys, lucien) and (2) it doesn't know what issues to address so it just has cassian 'punish nesta' without acknowledging why or the sheer disadvantage: nesta has no money, no friends, not home, no close family, no one but him. nothing but the close he has her wear, the food her has her eat. nesta has to make her own friend before she can even begin to heal. there is no power for her there, and there is no such thing as 'mutual abuse' cassian is just often angry at nesta bc the story thinks he should be angry. and it makes his abuse all the more scary. we get these arguments that are like 'cass would never' and then we get the hike scene and i think 'wouldn't he?" he can fly out of there, he can brave the steps, he has a job that pays him more than he will ever need, he can fuck and drink his depression away, he can walk away. nesta cannot. and that's abuse.

to conclude, this doesn't have to be a moral argument, but it so often becomes one bc the story only solves one abusive situation by altering the framework of abuse as it sees fit. i respect your opinion and i really appreciate your message it was genuinely nice and open and i wish there were other people like u who can hate a character but sustain the integrity of your argument. and i am happy u saw that cass was abusive even when u hate nesta. that's really the important part! thank you for your vulnerability❤️

(the salem/summer torment nexus is built on a bunch of overthinking rwby and then a little bit of lesbian high romance, so we do reach a point where we finally veer off from "analyzing rwby" and into "and that is why women kissing women", but that is, all i can do . because just putting down the "here's why they should kiss" conclusion makes me sound insane. so before we go into why they should kiss in the way i've depicted, here are some points that must first be true)

Summer is alive and well, and

Summer is Salem's unseen lieutenant at Beacon, and is working for her by her own free will, because

Salem is right (caveats about being evil rn notwithstanding) and

Remnant treats them in similar ways, for opposite purposes (thus in the women kissing women world, they are not only women who should kiss, but foils who should kiss: a far more powerful gameplay unit that inflicts a Brainrot DoT on its target (me))

i'm not going to be completely thorough here: i'm omitting anything that doesn't feel immediately important to understanding me, so if it feels like i skipped something, i definitely did. please bear with me bc this post's existence is already hilarious. the omissions probably aren't me missing things (depending on what it is) i'm just genuinely trying not to get derailed by factoring in every nuance and perspective (which rwby has, A Lot, of,). do not tweet at me

1 and 2 are almost self-explanatory, so they're quick: scenes about summer are nigh-universally conspicuous in how they talk about her, and there are too many questions raised about her/her fate that only she (and salem) could answer. her just being dead is too straightforward for all this effort, so something else is surely going on. in v8, the "Hound Summer" idea is raised, but i don't think they would let a character onscreen spill the beans ahead of time if it was actually the truth. (additionally, salem herself describes the hound as "an experiment", indicating there isn't like a bunch of them running around or anything...)

HOWEVER, letting ruby draw the "hound summer" conclusion on screen leads me to believe the actual truth is not FAR away: it'll be a knife-twist on what ruby said. the More Harrowing version of "my mom is alive but a tool for salem against her will" feels like it's naturally "my mom is alive and working for salem on purpose".

for 2, salem has an additional lieutenant that we have not been shown; being at beacon working on the Beacon Relic Puzzle ever since the Fall. we see salem contacting this agent to give them verbal instructions over the grimmphone, which is…not typically how she directs grimm, suggesting it is a person. we aren't privy to any further information about this person except their station being Beacon, which…i hate to say it but that's a "dramatically seeing summer rose alive" ass place….

the REASON for summer being salem's lieutenant as opposed to A) dead, B) a tool, C) a double agent, D) literally anything else, is because of 3 and 4.

this is where things are gonna get really cringe and potentially deranged but i need you to stay with me. let's go in order and focus on 3 first: salem is right.

saying this will cause some immediate pushback from some people, but to those people, please set that gut reaction aside for now and play in the space with me; i'm not saying that her current plan of action is like, nice, or Good, but i'm saying she is ideologically the one in the right. like Thematically. it took a lot of work for the world to make her be evil (across quite literally millions of years, potentially hundreds of millions) and now she's like "fine i'm about to be hilarious", but in the fundamental conflict rwby is about, she hasn't stopped being RIGHT.

okay so we have the "disquietingly genocidal if carried out to its natural conclusion, which is that we should surrender ourselves to the complete custody of the World Destroyer" guy, and the "humanity inherently has a right to exist and doesn't need babysitting from someone who believes otherwise" guy. One of these sides is currently in control of remnant. and it's not the one you'd hope! and it's not the one the show agrees with.

(sidenote before it's too late I should clarify i have a Lot of thoughts about ozma's side of all this and like i said rwby is incredibly rich when you begin to mine for nuance and in-universe perspectives; i love that guy to bits and pieces. there are a lot of angles to this dangle. it's just that neither the twitlonger nor this post is About Him, so if it sounds like im dismissing his own nightmare situation i'm NOT im just not posting About Him Right Now. love you oz sorry you're also in the bullshit swamp etc amen)

i mention this very briefly in the twitlonger, but ozma has a vested interest in A) wiping salem from history/humanity's knowledge, and B) making sure the people who DO know about her see her as completely incapable of being reasoned with, the source of all evil, and so on. he's been pretty aggressive in these efforts, successfully paring salem's perpetual existence in remnant down to a spectrum ranging from "i have never heard of this woman in my life" to "exaggerated fairytale image that can be safely ignored" and maybe like "scary witch story to keep kids from wandering into the woods (FAKE, NOT REAL)". and to his circle, she's evil incarnate, and nothing more—still the fairytale witch, just an actual threat this time.

there seems to be a belief among some of the characters in the show that if you stop salem, you win; you've Fixed The Problem. in this way of thinking, salem is the one thing holding remnant back from being Normal And Good. she is the single cog not turning in time with the rest of remnant, and she is Fucking Up The Machine For Everybody. obviously this is a very simple and easy way of looking at her, and it is also desperately encouraged by ozma's version of the story. for his story to work, salem MUST be the source of all evil, the well it all springs from, the clear villain who's behind every bit of suffering and wants to destroy humanity; if she is NOT, his own comprehension of his trauma falls apart, his life's work and mission loses meaning, and the world he's built on them falls apart too.

(unfortunately, you cannot fix a dysfunctional world by destroying a single woman (no matter how much some certain gods try to tell you otherwise) if the dysfunction is systemic and foundational the way remnant's is)

with that in mind, summer rose (aw hey girl i forgot you were in this post) seems like a pretty stark opposite to her. but i would like to argue the…opposite. opposite double reacharound combo: They Are The Same edition. aka 4

okay, so, another facet of ozma's ideology that goes pretty visibly hand in hand with his own baggage (rip) is the fixation on this, idea of, a Hero. a Guardian. a "simple soul". specifically, he tends to nominate a Lone Hero, who must shoulder an unfathomable burden—usually a secret one—with little to no support (because they cannot share the burden). and this is, demonstrably and in no uncertain terms, a practice that breaks heroes.

(without getting too distracted: this is pretty obviously what was also done to HIM, and ozma continuing this pattern is not surprising with that fact in mind; i do sympathize. but girl…<3 you are crafting the crux of an insane post on rontra.tumblr.com and you dont even know it)

the Lone Hero is perfect. they fight alone, carrying humanity's light, and when they die they do so heroically, righteously, bravely. they are a symbol, praised and exalted even into their own deaths. their torch doesn't burn for long, but it's beloved whilst it does! the superhero dies young, but dies well.

this idea is a motif that recurs in rwby; all four Maidens are historically isolated, working alone, their very existence a secret except for when they swoop in to save the day. Huntsmen can become Lone Heroes if they're exemplary or unlucky enough. it was done to Pyrrha on-screen, by backing her into a corner and nominating her for an unfathomable burden she could not possibly refuse—and it lead to her death, alone, in a fight she knew she could not win.

of course, it also intersects with the Silver-eyed Warriors, who are (like Maidens) secret and largely isolated, but (especially when combined with being Huntsmen) make extremely powerful Lone Heroes. THERE'S our girl we've been waiting for! summer came out of the extremely notable team STRQ, and she's got silver eyes; with her pedigree we've got another legendary Grimm Reaper on our hands!

the weight must be crushing.

i can't say for sure why summer left; maybe she really thought going in guns blazing could finish this. maybe she had encountered a piece of information that alarmed her, or even seemed to corroborate something Raven tried to tell her team years prior. maybe it was something else that drove her to take the fight to salem on a solo mission. maybe being a Hero from a broken team just does that to your brain. we don't know yet! but she went out alone and she met up with salem.

this was never going to work, and not ONLY because salem can't be killed: it's doomed because rwby, the show, does not give praise to self-sacrifice. it is opposed to the very idea of the Lone Hero. when characters break the buddy system and face the bullshit alone, they usually don't get out unscathed, and usually don't succeed in accomplishing much of note. if anything at all, they usually attain something temporary or minor that isn't at all worth the sacrifice they made. because how can anything be worth that? rwby so far is pretty against the idea of both a lone hero and of "good death"; you can't die heroically, because you only ever die tragically.

but the Hero, Lone or otherwise, is needed. it's a twisted hope, but it is hope: there are people, real heroes, who will do anything to save us; including die, over and over and over and over and over again. remnant runs on hero blood. the academies are major arteries that pump out more of it, and even while you're at an academy you're not in the clear, because the students are included as a layer of protection around the relic. if something comes for the school, you are intended to die for it.

Like it or not, the people that hired me are going to change the world! You can't stop 'em, I can't stop 'em! You wanna be a hero? Then play the part and die like every other Huntsman in history!

and the selected Lone Heroes, even more so, are intended to die fighting an unwinnable fight, bearing unfathomable burdens. proverbially speaking, it keeps the lights on: keeps the fight going. keeps humanity from losing its grip on faith. and it completely robs each Hero of their humanity.

this kind of hero is not human: it's romantic like a fairytale and reduces a human being to a symbol. one of hope, sure, but a symbol nonetheless. the perfect hero isn't permitted to doubt or fear or hesitate. they're something distant, something else, something beyond humanity, something conceptual. and THIS, (points at it) is BAD

but it is the other side of the coin. the Lone Hero who represents all of humanity's hope has a natural obverse: the Sole Evil responsible for all of the world's darkness. the Single Enemy who springs forth all the things the Single Light stands against. these two concepts together pull an astonishing amount of the weight to make ozma's ideology function. without them, the wheels do not turn.

it's important how successfully ozma has eradicated salem's humanity and cast her as a force of blind evil. you can't reason with her, it's futile to try… but we know that salem may be very fucked up indeed to people, but she's also plenty willing to talk; essentially the only reason no one even thinks to try it is because her carefully designed reputation precedes her. the ruling world ideology prominently features the bastions of humanity, the bulwark against evil, the Lone Hero figure; the Guardian…and it hinges almost entirely upon the Sole Evil of salem, who can't be reasoned with but must be destroyed, even though the war against her is eternal, impossible, unsustainable.

by design, neither one is permitted any humanity at all.

Summer Rose and Salem are both ideological work-horses. in the world of remnant, neither of them can retain their humanity: they are conceptual existences that pull ozma's world through the motions, step by agonizing step. they are both yoked to the same plough.

if those two TALKED—and salem is very much willing to talk—i think a lone hero with a passion for humanity and way too much skin in the game would be repulsed by the system she lives in. she would recognize that she (and huntsmen as a broader institution) would be in the Wrong to support ozma—and by extension the gods, who look at humanity as a thing to be corralled and punished, something that must actively justify its own right to exist—

—that she's got two kids in this world, and she suddenly hopes to high heaven that they never get pulled into the same cannon fodder machine that created the Guardian summer rose, who bleeds and bleeds so that all humanity can cling to a hope that is bound to be false because the arbiters of their worth do not find them inherently worthy of life—

But, baby, please don't do what I did; I don't want you to waste your life in vain.

the reason women should kiss is that there is a mutual understanding that they are both beasts of burden to this world: two less-than-human icons, unpersoned on purpose, merely representing a concept. they perform roles in a narrative written by somebody else. they are not human! they are bearing unimaginable weight in service of an idea!

and they don't want to see humanity's fate be shackled to that idea for a moment longer.

i think when i say summer/salem most people think im trying to conjure like a dark spicy image full of like, power and control, and tension, and stuff. and there's nothing wrong with those, i do make a lot of those. but in reality im picturing the most tender secret in all of remnant. could you imagine?

...they are both yoked to ozma's ideology in these weird twisted ways so theres a lot of understanding and sympathy there, even if their Functions are different. opposite even. perhaps like foils one could say...

it's a ship built on that kind of understanding. the theme tying it together is that grueling dehumanization and the tenderness of seeing that you're both human to the core regardless. remnant yearns to grind them both up, one in service of the other, for a horrifically cruel ideal they can't just lie down and surrender to. humanity deserves better. so do they.

salem is right. summer rose knows it.

in the pictures i made, there's a protective angle to their poses and interactions: sort of a knightly, HER Warrior, type thing. "NOT YOUR SACRIFICE". etc. i guess salem is a lady with a tendency to attract the heroic knightly type (rimshot)

monet and luna aren’t getting the development they deserve bc the writers are having trouble distributing between julien and audrey as the focus w reference to max and aki and obie and it’s getting very annoying literally half way into the season 2 and almost zero development for either of them.

i honestly think there’s too many characters tbh and there there’s a way it could work but that means julien who’s character progression has already been established isn’t getting more screentime then luna and monet who get very minimal of their own arcs outside her, and everything learned about monet and luna having some sort of involvement with julien or max and it’s for the most part centered on julien and max.

we literally know everything there is to know about julien and max because they’ve actually been given arcs in s1. we can’t learn anything abt monet and luna if it’s solely thru julien and max and they are never given their own individual scenes as characters

julien and audrey have also had so much of the show centered around them if im being honest although i believe audrey has grown while julien has regressed. and why are the teachers getting more screentime and development than luna who’s a main promoted in the series. i also know more about kate and the other teachers lives than i do luna and monet as complex characters outside their mean girl personas it’s grating at this point and u have to search their wikis sometimes just to get as much information as what’s been revealed abt audrey and julien

I’m still catching up on all the drama lol so maybe you’ve already mentioned this, but I think a big part of the disc war discussion that always gets left out is that yeah, maybe it wasn’t Canonically C!Dream Stalking C!Tommy at that time, maybe it was just them goofing around and doing a Funny Bit — but regardless of if that’s true, it’s canon now! It’s part of the lore! It’s been referenced many times by c!Tommy and other characters as an actual part of disc duo’s history. I think it’s fair to want to have a post just talking about how smart cc!dream is, bc yeah he’s super impressive and I think there’s a fair argument to be made that that moment was just cc!Dream and not acting-Dream (at the time). It’s fuzzy in the early days of when exactly people started Acting As Characters more consciously and to what extent, but it’s clear now that those events are considered canon to those characters and (even if it’s possibly in retrospect and not the original intention, like so many things in the dsmp) they’re definitely part of the lore. So all the people arguing that it isn’t canon or it’s stupid to think it would be are entirely missing the point, in my opinion. It’s not really a matter of if it was or wasn’t lore Then, it’s a matter of if it’s lore Now. I don’t think op was really at fault here, but I also don’t think it was silly of you to assume it was a lore post at first glance.

they are acting even when they Aren’t telling giant robust stories. smps have Always been about roleplay, literally always. tommy played a main villain on smp earth, it wasn’t earth shattering lore but It Was Acting. smp earth Has Lore, you could lay out the history of what happened on the server like a story if you wanted to.

likewise, just look at Any of tommy’s minecraft mod videos. all of them have characters and narratives, and that fact doesn’t change just because they’re Silly.

in the early days of the dream smp the disc war Wasn’t intended to be a part of an on-going narrative about abuse because that narrative hadn’t been written yet. but It Was Intended To Be A Part Of The Conflict On The Dream Smp.

nobody was Actually angry with anybody in this, nobody was Actually waging war for anything. the real human being dream was taken was not trying to punish the real human person tommy innit for breaking his rules. they were Playing Up Their Characters On The Dream Smp to Act Out A Conflict For Their Audience. this was acting !!

and at the time the “bit” was that dream was Overly Obsessed with winning the war. That Was The Joke. he was called obsessed and called tommy’s stalker by other streamers at the time, they Played Up how creepy he was being On Purpose Because It Was Meant To Be Funny. that Was the bit, self evidently faljksdjklafds

that’s why cc!dream spent so much effort doing it ! because it was fun and because it was funny ! what I said Was The Intended Takeaway Of The Joke At The Time.

which is part of why it’s so Interesting that it works so well in hindsight, and why it’s Impressive that they continued to play into that dynamic that they’d established so early so Well and so realistically.

the disc war Is canon. it simply has to be with how integrated into the rest of the series it is. it has been actively acknowledged as a real thing that fully happened with in the lore and between these two characters through every single arc. every single one of them calls back to this event, both in a broad sense and in specific events that happened. Objectively the disc war is canon.

and Yes, people are reading into it now in ways that wouldn’t have been intended at the time, but that’s how Stories work. you learn more about the characters, their motivations, and their relationships together as we get more information and watch more events unfold. the fact that This story wasn’t planned out from the beginning doesn’t Change that.

nobody Has to talk about the lore if they don’t want to, but you can’t just strip away the context of a piece of media just because you don’t Like that context. objectively the disc war is much Sillier piece of the dream smp’s lore, but it is still a Part of it.

okay now that it's The Posting Hour i can talk about my current wave of bullshit. so i've been thinking about misinformation and the sort of art that can be involved in making it seem believable. specifically, i'm talking about the idea of presenting bullshit to appear academic, requiring the citation of sources to back your terrible awful claim. this has led me to create a source strata with 8 tiers, with each being of a different level of legitimacy, that someone could use to prioritize sources by how bullshit they appear (versus how bullshit they really are). although if you don't already kinda know this then im not sure you're cut out to be a dealer of deception. additional note: i probs don't have to say this but i don't condone malevolent misinformation campaigns, OK? i just have a little bug in my brain that's all

Tier 1: Actual proper scholarly articles

like. real research, presumably peer-reviewed and backed up with other proper sources and published in some kind of fancy journal. obviously, if you can find any of these that in any way support your bullshit, that's great for you! it's unlikely, though, and in some cases willfully misinterpreting a good source may actually be worse for your point than truthfully interpreting a slightly more questionable source

Tier 2: Real research, less real results

stuff that is still Good Research but doesn't really stand well on its own. studies with small sample sizes or results that are difficult to replicate. these could still, in theory, get cited in Real Research and Not Bullshit, but they often are only meant to suggest that your study is worthwhile, not prove anything themselves. you can exploit this! the names attached to these may be well-respected, and the methods may be sound, while the conclusions might be total bullshit! if you're lucky, that bullshit will support your bullshit

Tier 3: Reputable but not scholarly

well-established news outlets, government sources, and even primary sources can go here. these are all "reliable" in the sense that they're published by bodies with some level of authority over what they are claiming and (in the case of the first at least) are likely employ the work of skilled researchers. however, there is no promise of an attempt to be impartial, as there is (in theory) in the above sections. this could be a goldmine for you! biased information is hugely serviceable to bullshitters, and you could (and will) do a lot worse than this stuff

Tier 4: Getting colder now

more openly biased news sources (the bulk of popular news, really) goes here. they've got some level of obligation to report truths, but how they do so is totally up to them. that can be good for your case! not so much for your credibility. we've entered the territory where using these sources is better if you can distract from it with a better sources nearby

Tier 5: Pop media

this is where you get the real dredges of what can be considered "news" by any imagination, as well as magazine columns and moderately qualified bloggers. there may be some level of establishment or name recognition here that plays to your favor, but nobody with a lick of sense is taking this stuff seriously. luckily for you, people with a lick of sense are probably not in your target audience

Tier 6: Internet bullshit with some elbow grease

the type of "source" that gets passed around online. this very post could be considered an example of this (though not a very good one - i haven't referenced any other source). twitter threads, youtube essays, longform tumblr posts, and so on... these all have virtually no barrier of entry, but can easily have some level of effort put into them that makes them at least seem more believable. as a side note, this is about the same section i would put fictional sources in; there's effort there, just no attempt at realism (bc why would there be?)

Tier 7: Internet bullshit with some elbow bullshit

i'm talking now about the most incomprehensible useless content imaginable. imagine like. a 5 minute crafts video. or a facebook post that your weird aunt makes. this is the most pathetic example of something that you could *technically* consider a "source" by virtue of the fact that it is a thing somebody said at some point that supports the fact that you're not the only person to ever do so. if that's not nuts enough for you, though...

Tier 8: Literally just make shit up

y'know the footnote that's like "This was once revealed to me in a dream" that's in that popular post? that's what you're doing here. if you get to the point where you've just absolutely hit a wall and you still need to include a core tenet of your bullshit but can't find any sign that anyone else has ever had a thought congruent to it? just say something vague like "this is generally known" and move on. not good for your case in the least, however, so if you get to this point maybe you want to reassess how convincing your claim is

one of the reasons this fascinates me is because, by doing this, you are removing the boundary of truth and treating all possible sources of information (be it good or bad) as viable (though, importantly, not all equal) and this tiered system illustrates the process of understanding how each of these types of source will be reflected by public reaction and how one can make a craft out of gauging and comprehending those reactions and use them to weave a web of any source that is *available* (attempting to get the "lowest score" possible in terms of the final sum that comes from the totaled numbers of the strata that each source used belongs to) and create something that a significant population will or at least could buy into

A story about paranoia as Jon's own paranoia culminates - shit is about to go down.

.... Is what I thought and instead everyone had a healthy and adult discussion about their feelings, information is freely given, Jon admits he has treated his coworkers unfairly and promises to cool it, now convinced someone from outside or whatever is in the tunnels must have murdered Gertrude.

Huh.

Anyone else thing the statements these days show a sort of worst-case-slippery-slope Jon could be going down if he keeps it up, but because he still has friends, he JUST manages to avoid that same fate - for now anyway?

I say for now because I would in fact pay good money for Jon to drive a van full of explosives into the Archive. Although Jon doesn't as much feel watched as he is the one watching everyone else (or both). Maybe Tim gets to blow up the archives. He deserves it.

This is the midpoint of the season. Technically, it's still possible the point of the first half of it was to show easily Jon's mental health can slip, the discord and distrust sawn between the coworkers is not going to go away and may be their fall in the season 2 finale where season 1 their quick thinking and team work saved them.

That being said, I will be disappointed if it turns out Gertrude "just" died by someone on the outside/a monster in the tunnels. I would feel like I wasted half a season if it turns out the guy who likes to stab people for fun and lives in the tunnels turns out to have murdered the corpse that was found shot ... in the tunnels. He may have something to do with it, but considering she had her own room and wasn't in the... tunnels tunnels, that doesn't seem to be his MO. Whatever.

And I'm confused about the Deus Ex CCTV tapes too. They should not be the easy fix they are. As far as I know, no one but Jon had attempted to search the tunnels below the archives, where Gertrude's body was found. Certainly no one from the police. Please correct me if I am wrong about that due to information that has been established in the past but I misremembered, btw, that would be very kind. But that means that there might be alternate entrance into the archives through the tunnels that our murderer could have used, that isn't necessarily covered by CCTV (or wasn't searched) because no one knew that place was an entrance to the archive. That means any and all of them could have done it still!

All this, of course, leads me back around to my original suspect list: Sasha and Elias. Not-Sasha wasn't around for the murder, and while I maintained she'd have her own subplot, it would be kind of cool to have the real Sasha turn out to be the killer. This would give her replacement, who already seems to have some complicated feelings about her own existence, an interesting conflict, especially in terms of hashing out her relationship to her coworkers, and their relationship towards both Sashas. It would also merge the two major plotthreads of the season in a really interesting way! While I do think Sasha was a bit... under-established for this to work 100%, this could still be fixed by eg the characters finding her again, or a statement given by her, or anything. I think I've mentioned it before, but Sasha's frustration over Jon getting the position as head archivist could have been partially due to the fact that she killed Gertrude to get it instead. (It's weird bc I'm pretty sure this was one of the first things we learned about Sasha, and yet it didn't inform her character much and was never brought up again, soo-). It was also fascinating that Michael initially sought her out to help the archive - maybe she knew more than she let on and her statement about that encounter wasn't entirely truthful either. I'm saying, given some more puzzle pieces, this is something that could make sense to me.

The other major suspect is Elias, who remained on the list exclusively because he keeps being brought up for seemingly no reason. UNTIL NOW. Because see, I noted how Elias remains a mystery. He's just kinda there. It's like the story is going out of its way to make him uninteresting and uninvolved, like they only needed a name to play authority in the archives for other characters to throw around, without getting his own part in the story. Which, I mean, they could have done that. I wouldn't be too happy about it, but in a show with such a limited cast, they simply cut off their losses earlier and decided to do nothing interesting with the GUY who RUNS the supernatural archive that's the center of some supernatural tuck of war - yeah okay they won't do that. (Even though I also apparently heavily overestimated the other side character's importance to the story, sooo)

So why.

Here's the thing. Elias says he's "partially to blame for [Jon's behaviour]" because he let it go on for so long. If he were a proper character, we'd get a hint of the regret he feels, maybe some inner conflict. Elias, sitting on the information that there are CCTV tapes the police are reviewing, which will come out any time soon, which should put everyone at ease. That he doesn't have to run an intervention, that Jon seems down but everyone is coping and the CCTV will clear it all up. But then it turns out he miscalculated, and Jon got way worse than he thought, and the CCTV is still fixing things but had Elias said something 20 episdes ago, everything would have gone way better. This is the second time that something major has happened that, had he been more involved, could have been prevented or at least prevented some damage. I know we haven't gotten that much on the other characters either, but at least something like that would have been HINTED by now, and be it by the voice acting.

Elias doesn't sound particularly remorseful when he says this. Elias is the only one who's emotions aren't running high in that scene. Elias was the only one who kept calm in the season 1 finale either, if I remember right. I think I theorized back than that it was the slightly overwhelmed detachement of it all. Elias isn't friends with any of these people, and Jon hasn't been stalking him, so why WOULD his emotions be running high during the intervention? So, of course, the question: Why isn't he closer to any of them? Why doesn't he solve their problems sooner, if he noticed them? If he didn't, doesn't that bother him? Why isn't he bothered by his team falling apart at the seams?

He could just be a shitty boss, in the way that some people don't notice things, like to keep to themselves and aren't fit to lead. But he said that he did notice, and we don't even get a hint of characterisation that implies that he feels conflicted about his lack of action and relationship to the others.

So here's my crowning conclusion:

Elias doesn't give a shit.

It's all work to him. Pure business. He joins the intervention slash disciplinary hearing (notice the phrasing!) because the others have asked him to. He's here to do his job, and as long as the car is running, that's all he cares about. It's not running well. Two tires are flat and the engine is making funky noises but it's running. Where is it going? That's the million dollar question, isn't it. But that doesn't matter, as long as they arrive.

Yeah, that makes him a shitty boss.

And more importantly, that makes him a murder suspect, if Gertrude was in any way a person who wanted to stop the car for a bit (be it to change a tire or blow it up, you decide).

That also makes him a potential danger in the future, if the characters ever act in a way that is not in the Archive's ... "best interest".

Also, you know, the CCTV footage showed Elias finding and reporting the blood the day of Gertrude's disappearance, he may as well have knocked her out, brought her to the tunnels, murdered her and returned to report her missing.

The driver was charged with a felony for SIBV but was never convicted. I was never named as a plaintiff in his hearing. His sexual assault victim was his 12 year old sister.

My case is complicated. I was abused by this individual and his family after he caused my facial disfigurement while my parents neglected me until I finished highschool. I ended contact with him roughly around the end of 2008 due to his continued abuse of me as his disabled victim. I never had any legal representation of any kind in any kind of lawsuit or criminal case against him. I did not know my rights and barely escaped from his circle of influence, as a teenager, alive.

I'm living with my abusive parents, who victim blamed me, and I'm trying to get them involved with me in my therapy with B. to address the ways I feel deprived of my rights and neglected by them when this happened, bc I need their cooperation to do anything legally about any of it today, and because I am too emotionally and financially dependent on them to overcome their neglect of me since this happened.

I am also trying to go back to college to become a grad student. I graduated in 2014, and I have been the victim of some very damaging and permanent forms of discrimination where it comes to my career, and education, and I feel like I have never had access to the support and accommodations I should have had earlier in my life. I am trying to protect myself from more discrimination, today, and I think I need help establishing that I'm the victim of defamation from my previous experiences with being a grad student at GSU in 2014. I don't know how I am going to get funding if I can even get into another grad school because the abuse I experienced in my first semester of Grad school in 2014 led to me dropping out of the program and checking into a hospital because I was suicidal. I did not get a medical withdrawal, and it ruined my graduate GPA. I have had my application rejected because of the damage that did to my graduate GPA at one school and I am afraid it will prevent me from acquiring the funding I need to go out of state, now, 10 years later.

I wanted to talk to a CRC specifically about how I can get into grad school and get the funding I need for that...and that is how I came by R., who then referred me to you. in this post, i will be analyzing the information we’ve been given about utahime so far to form a prediction about her future role in the jujutsu kaisen series. if you’re as interested in utahime’s character as i am, please feel free to keep reading :3 (i’ll also be talking about her relationship with gojo a bit too)

utahime iori is a semi-grade 1 sorcerer working as a student supervisor/teacher at kyoto jujutsu high school. she loves drinking beer and going to karaoke. she’s also close friends with shoko and she’s not particularly fond of gojo most of the time. what else do we know about her?

hates sweets (funny she’s the complete opposite of gojo)

she’s great at singing and it’s a huge part of her technique

let’s dive into her personality and abilities!

chapter 65

before i get into it, i think it’d be best if i were to explain the timeline because a lot of people seem to be confused about this one particular thing. utahime is born on february 18th, 1987. contrary to popular belief, she is not 3 years older than gojo. it is november 2018 in the story because gojo was sealed on halloween. if gojo was born on december 7th, 1989, that would mean that right now, he is only 28 years old. he has yet to turn 29.

the year is 2007. gojo satoru is a second year at tokyo jujutsu high school. the japanese school year begins in april which suggests that gojo is only 17 at the time (even if it’s not april, it doesn’t look like winter yet so it’s unlikely that he’s already 18). utahime is 20 because it is past february. she is a 2nd grade sorcerer at the age of 20. that’s not bad at all!

chapter 65 introduces young utahime and mei on a mission together within a cursed site. in real time, they’ve been gone for two days which is a cause of concern for gojo, shoko, and geto because the two haven’t contacted anyone since the beginning of their mission.  the two begin to suspect something is wrong because the hallway markers they’ve set in place disappeared, and no matter how far they travel within the halls, the end is nowhere in sight.  mei theorizes that the cursed spirit is overlapping the space as they travel forward.  utahime agrees with this speculation and proposes a plan to escape the cursed spirit’s grasp by moving erratically.  notice how she says that if one of them should escape, they can try to attack from the outside or call for help.  if utahime was not capable of inflicting damage on anything then she would have told mei to escape and attack if she can while she waited to be rescued.  however, she didn’t.  she included herself in the sentence which leads me to believe that she is capable of going on the offense if needed.  

keep in mind that at this point in time, mei is a grade 1 sorcerer.  she is knowledgeable about all things involving jujutsu because she is experienced and skillful.  we can see this aspect of her character illustrated when she theorizes that the cursed spirit is messing with the space they’re in.  she chooses to go with utahime’s plan because she agrees that it’s the best action moving forward.  this verifies that utahime is an intelligent girl that’s able to get along with pretty much anyone.  

her intellect is demonstrated once again in chapter 79.  she was able to deduce the possibility of there being more than one traitor and the fact that one is probably a higher up.  she also narrowed down the mechamaru as the mole of kyoto not because he was acting suspicious but by process of elimination.  she thought thoroughly of his technique and how easy it would be for him to manipulate devices small enough to be undetectable.  

sure you can argue that she should already know all her students’ abilities and whatnot but you have to admit that it’s hard trying to sniff out the traitor when no one is acting suspicious.  in addition to that, how did she know that there was a traitor in the top brass?  i would have never guessed that tbh LOL (maybe bc im an idiot).

okay, now that we have established that she’s intelligent, let’s answer a more important question.  is utahime weak?

chapter 33

if gojo calls utahime weak, does that mean there is some truth to it?  well it is true that she is weaker than him because he’s the strongest and all.  in my opinion, he’s just teasing her.  he probably found that calling her weak is what really riles her up.  maybe i’ll talk about why he loves teasing her so much in a later post.  but anyway, gojo calls everybody and their mom weak.  he even said jogo was weak and we know how powerful that guy is.  gojo’s words alone do not indicate much about utahime’s power.  in fact, i don’t even think he has seen her use her technique yet.  he’s probably only ever heard of how it works.  this is what i think their conversation about her technique was like:

gojo: hm?  ur cursed technique is singing?  can u show me?

utahime: what!  no way!  

gojo: why not?

*one of the classmates tells him that she can only use her CT once in a while because it consumes a lot of energy*

gojo: hahaha!  u have to conserve cursed energy to use ur CT?  why are u so weak, utahime?

utahime: i!  am!  your!  senpai!  respect!  me!

what i’m trying to say is that gojo loves poking fun of people.  we should not believe him when he calls someone weak because compared to him, everyone is weak.  

this is a little off topic but let’s examine him telling her, “and you don’t have the nerves, utahime.”  i think he’s trying to say that there’s no way she’ll ever do something like that because she’s not the type to put her students in danger.  remember the soft expression and relieved smile on her lips when she said that she was glad the students were safe after the kyoto incident?  gojo was directly in front of her so not only did he hear her say that, but he could have seen the look on her face too.  even if he told her that she didn’t have the guts to betray the school to get on her nerves, he knew that utahime simply cared too much about the students so he ruled her out as a suspect right away.  this is why he ultimately decided to confide in her and ask her to help him.  

i’m a person who loves over-analyzing things.  i really enjoy the dynamic between gojo and utahime.  they’ve known each other for more than 11 years and although they always bicker, there is an unspoken feeling of trust between the two.  gojo can do anything and everything by himself because he is truly the strongest person alive, but he still knows when to rely on others.  him deciding to entrust utahime with such a job implies that he believes in utahime’s abilities.

chapter 52

she’s not using any cursed energy here--not to our knowledge at least.  this is just pure skill.  she was able to swiftly evade the swing from haruta.  he was surprised himself considering the fact that he was right behind her.  how do we know her CT isn’t speed?  after haruta swung at her, we can see that some of her hair got cut off.  if she was using her CT then speed should be her specialty.  she should have been able to completely avoid the attack altogether but she didn’t.  of course this isn’t a wow moment because jujutsu sorcerers should know how to dodge attacks, however, i’m just trying to get the point across that she’s not a defenseless person without her technique or others.  let’s not forget that semi-grade 1 isn’t a weak rank either.  you can’t simply be recommended to be a grade 1 sorcerer if you only can support others.  

chapter 48

i want to bring up this panel. it suggests that utahime and takuma are sorcerers who have not experienced black flash and therefore, do not understand the essence of cursed energy as well as those who have like gojo and nanami.  i find it strange how takuma and utahime were used to represent sorcerers who haven’t experienced it yet.  is the purpose to demonstrate that there is a clear difference in skill between adult sorcerers like utahime and takuma compared to gojo and nanami?  i could be nitpicking but the order of todo’s statement doesn’t line up with the sorcerers being shown.  let me explain in depth.  todo starts off by saying, “for those who have experienced black flash as compared to those who have not...” wouldn’t it make more sense to show gojo and nanami on the right side to represent sorcerers who have experienced black flash?  that was mentioned first, after all.  gojo and nanami should appear when todo says “for those who have experience black flash” while utahime and takuma should be shown right after to personify the second part, “as compared to those who have not.”  i’m just making it more complicated than it actually is LOLOL i’m sure it really just means they haven’t experienced black flash yet, which is completely fine.  i also find it fascinating how they used utahime to contrast gojo.  with nanami and takuma it makes sense.  nanami is someone takuma looks up to, he wants to gain nanami’s approval before he deems himself worthy of a promotion. what about utahime and gojo?  what’s the purpose of comparing those two together when it’s obvious that gojo knows more about the essence of cursed energy more than anyone else?  i might be delusional whoops

May 13th Reading

Definitely long awaited and way bigger than I intended it to be so buckle up.

Funky disclaimer: this is for entertainment purposes only and not to be taken as fact! This is my interpretation of the cards!

Oh boy. The continuation of yoongis soulmate saga.

(Note frome future me: it's not proofread but I'm hungry. Sorry for mistakes!)

Let's start.

I started with all the normal jazz. Connecting with his energy and shit. Same as usual same old same old. Platform= same same. I was like, "hey, let's talk about your soulmate and the whole may 13th shit" and we connected via energy stringy thing to the forehead and such. I was intresting bc my end of the string was kinda my energy color! Neato. Looks like some rest has really done me good!

Okay, here's where I start actually asking shit. I made notes at this point before the reading as I usually do. I'm just gonna insert the screen shot here.

The 14 thing really fucked me up. You'll see later. Also, when I got the whole Pisces Jupiter thing I had to do me some googling bc we established that Jupiter went into Pisces ON May 13th so I was like?? Am I missing something?

I was. I forgot that it goes retrograde and then co.es back to Pisces on December 28th. And I do indeed think it to be significant.

The shit about temperance makes a lot of sense. In yoongis first soulmate read I flipped my shit bc he was like, "You're gonna get temperance reverse" in regards to a card for his soulmate and I was like "pft whatever. Don't play me like that"

And then I got temperance reverse. It's been a significant card from the jump.

I asked him if he had any advice for his soulmate and that's what "Don't wait for big things, you'll miss the small ones that lead you to bigger things" and "Look for facts before assuming" and "Don't try pushing it, forcing it won't make sense" and "A spade is a spade/ ace is an ace" and "Don't make ill informed guesses" all were

Now this part:

"Union has happened , yet to on the physical"

Gave me some hints thankfully because he straight up said no more hints.

This ties back into the whole Jupiter thing too. The seeds are/ have been planted and now they have to grow before they can be harvested.

Well Mr. Yoongi, I'm impatient and I don't want to wait. I want to see you in love pronto.

He showed me a little dream box/ trinket box looking thing and a super vague Keychain with no further explanation... so... there's that I guess.

I can't quite decide if "Don't make ill informed guesses" was a tongue-in-cheek pike at me or if it was genuine advice to his soulmate? He just loves to not explain things.

Now let's begin the monster read.

So. The first row of cards

I asked the question, "what the fuck was May 13th and what was it's purpose in regards to your connection"

Important is what it was lol. I interpret this as them finding their footing and this being the starting point of the genuine foundation being layer. Like they've been manifesting eachother for a while but May 13th marked the start of them making the real life changes in their actual lives that will be the set up for them meeting.

The seven of coins is about thoughtful planning and creating security/ stable plan. The tower is essentially ripping away anything and everything that was built on unstable foundation and challenging/ testing your character (an extremely rude awakeing if you will). Judgement is releasing the past so you can rise above it and confronting yourself as you are (Also legit awakening) the queen of coins is financial security and self confidence in your abilities. Ten of coins is prosperity and abundance and most of all, stability. Eight of wands is explosion of potential and rapid movement. Temperance is awareness and balance between physical and spiritual. It's also that quiet peace where you find balance.

So. Seeing all those cards it really does seem like maybe his soulmate took on something new that could lead straight to union? Same for yoongi. I'd like to analyze and recent or new-ish habits or hobbies he's picked up?

Moving right along though. I asked what the 13th did for each of them in their personal life and personal journey. Kinda like what came as a result of that energy? Let's start with yoongles

This was really intresting to me. I think he definitely gained some form of clarity about the situation with that sun card. The 5 of cups tells me that either he was kinda forced to confront some of his flaws in a way that he was trying to avoid or he had to consciously let go of something dear to him? Could be something he had to leave behind because it crumbled with the tower moment but he didn't see it coming or didn't know that it was time to part with it? With that queen of wands though fits beautifully with the sun! Its like he's found warmth after a long winter. Definitely found a spark of compassion and generosity from a place of happiness and love rather than anger, fear, obligation or pitty.

I asked for clarity cards/ anything else that may 13th signified bringing in and we got the 2 of cups and 10 of swords. I have two thoughts. Either he let go of a relationship that he was already in because he didn't feel as though they were particularly compatible anymore (Also ties into the above section) OR the 13th had made him very much consciously aware of his soulmates incoming status and he is now preparing and working on himself for when this person comes. The 10 of swords would be him releasing the past and the pain and any ill fitting behavior that don't vibe with him any longer. Yellow really seems to be working for him by the way.

Soulmate time

Lol. All signs point to his soulmate genuinely starting a new venture. New creative pursuit that will bring them good money. 10 of pentacles is abundance, prosperity and stability. The ace of wands is a new creative spark and passion and it's the first big steps into something new. The 2 of wands is "the world is in the palm of your hands" vibes. Choices need to be made swiftly and with the ace of wands I think they will be. With the heirophant too, it will be a well informed decision because they've been manifesting this and has been searching for all the possible information.

As for clarity, we have the moon. Damn. Soulmates been doing that shadow work. Dredging up all their bullshit and getting rid of it while still taking the time to sit with it and release it so nothing is unresolved. Also probably extra creative due to all the emotional baggage being thrown out. (Definitely helping with the ace of wands vibes tbh)

Now for the bad boys in the middle

The question I asked is what those individual changes (detailed in the last two sections) will bring for the bond and I just can with them. These fuckers. I am so invested in their love story bc it's so... them? And just so fucking ROMANTIC. UGH I CAN'T.

Back to the point. High priestess, 4 of wands and the lovers. The high priestess is deep knowing and insane intuition, the 4 of wands is the purest joy and marriage and the lovers is well, the lovers.a magical union.

For the row of bottom cards

I asked if they had anything at all to add so I'm gonna explain each card individually bc I think they could be individual tid bits of shit.

Knight of coins is good news about finances/ money looking promising and organized work (also dependability!!). Death is all about transformation, the beginning of a new chapter and accepting in order to move foward. Ace of coins is spiritual and material abundance and also a reminder to keep grounded. Page of swords is confidence, important news coming and really good insight! Roots out secrets or hidden things like a truffle pig. The star is promising potential, healing and guidance from an enexpected place. The two of cups is a soul connection, love, intuition especially in regards to another person and a good bind. The emperor is self awareness, foresight, fearlessness to achieve a goal and confidence. Eight of coins rev is poor discipline and skating by on low effort.

Now to the sides!

Yoongi is the left, soulmate is the right.

So, let's begin with yoongi. The first two cards are anything he wants to say to his soulmate. Wheel of fortune and three of swords reverse. I take this as "its all in divine time/ it's destiny" (wheel of fortune) and "trust your intuition. It's okay to get hurt, you just need to remember you can always pick yourself up" (3of swords rev.)

We have now cards that I asked what he was learning through this process/ in this time. Be positive and first step.

The last two cards are affirmations he wants to give his soulmate.

"When I introduce joy to a situation, I change the vibrational frequency of what's happening around me" and "directing my focus onto what's thriving creates more of what I want"

Now for soulmates cards (same structure)

Now we have peer pressure (I think soulmate is learning to say "fuck you" and "fuck off" to people who have a set idea of how everyone should be living their lives), emotional healing and open your arms to receiving.

Then we have "its good to feel good" (lol I feel like yoongi definitely needs this one) and "when I connect to the spiritual realm, I open the door to recieve divine guidance, clear direction, and great wisdom"

I came back to the platform to be like, "thanks homie" and it was weird bc he was practically pure energy? Like usually I visualize his energy as what his physical body looks like because it's easier to comprehend? But nope, he was just a big shimmery glob of energy.

As I was going to disconnect, a few things happened. I felt tingly and the platform was vibrating almost? So I was like, "hold on, what the fuck is this?"

I was so stoked and I thought we'd all get to chat and I could yell at his soulmate for being an elusive asshat

But Mr smug butt had different plans.

My dude dropped a little marble thing in my hand and I was like ??? And he was like, "you'll know when you need it" and I was like ?????

My guide took pity on me and said, "it's just a representation on information that you've been given but it isn't the proper time to unpack it yet"

My main take away is that amay 13th through July 28th will be all the foundation and ground work and December 28th 2021 through May 10th (11th? 9th?) 2022 will be a more likely time for physical union and actual relationship stuffs.
