summary: being the most famous and popular youtuber and singer has its kicks. great fans, terrible fans, weird fans, you’ve seen and had them all… but this fan? you wish you never had…
warnings: jk is WEIRD okay he’s weird asf in this, male masturbation, stalking, jungkook is an idol in this, mentions of kidnapping, murders, yandere.
tag list: none.
note: i’ll switch from You to Y/N a lot. Bold and Line Through. Are Jk’s negative thoughts, more so the weird ones. this is a preview imagine of spooktober!!
“so who’s your favorite singer, Jungkook?” an interviewer asked as they, BTS, where doing a short little tv appearance. the question was, who is an artist you’d love to collaborate with in the near future, everyone had their fair share of answers but the one person Jungkook had in mind was no other than, Y/N L/N.
She was bigger than any other singer or youtuber out there, with 45 Million subscribers on youtube and millions of fans over the world, she was everywhere. She has done video collaborations with CoryxKenshin, Berleezy, PG, DashieGames and many more. She is adored.
Jungkook found her channel when she was a newbie to the youtuber world. He liked the video of her trying on different clothes from all over the world, room tours, decorating, gaming videos, vlogs, but he got more into her once he found out she did music. He had to be the first person to ever really be her fan in his eyes, of course. He loved her for a very long time.
“I’d have to say, Y/N L/N… i love her… style and her youtube channel. i’m a huge fan!” he answered happily. The crowded went absolutely crazy as he’s always talked about Y/N. you would think they dated the way he promoted her so much.
“Really? she is coming her next Friday for an interview! did you hear she’s doing a world tour, starting with South K?” the interviewer asked. “Yes yes, i want to get me a ticket the minute they go on sale..” he smiled happily and the crowd awed at his answer.
Tumblr media
“I’ll definitely let you guys know when my tickets go on sale, obviously! That’s it for now, until next time, see you!” You smiled ending the recording and big a stretch. You are glad that it was just a little clip that you need to edit to post out later, but boy was it tough being a youtuber, you loved it though.
As soon as you got up you heard your phone going off profusely. You went to grab it and saw it was twitter and you were being tagged in a certain posted. It was a video of Jungkook from BTS during a, which you assume, recent interview. “ I love her.” is what a lot of fans were saying in the comments. It was a quote of what Jungkook said in the video. Instead of really responding just yet you reshared the clip saying “ The love is mutual 💜 @BTS_twt!” and posted it.
You’ve always been a fan of BTS! You loved everything about them, the message they were sending out about loving yourself, taking care of you, living your life no matter what anyone has to say about it, you loved it all! You never really knew that Jungkook was a fan of yours. Little do you know you wished you never knew that..
Tumblr media
“Kook, you’ve been literally staring at her retweet since we got back to the hotel.” Taehyung spoke out with his eyebrow up. “I’m starting to think this is a little more than a fan thing. You have a crush on her don’t you?” Jin in also chipped in, pinching Jungkooks cheeks. The two were ready to start to teasing him. “ Actually, i do.” he stated calmly still looking at the tweet thing clicking on her twitter account.
“ Oh, we thought we had a chance to tease you… fuck.” Taehyung said as the elevator dinged. “ Well, we will see you in a few for dinner? jimin and I have a Vlive to do. Get some rest!” He spoked as Him and Jimin stepped out the elevator and walked to jimins room.
Jungkook nodded and walked to his room, taking out his keycard and holding it to the door to open it. He sighed as he walked in and instantly decided to take a shower. He went into the bathroom, started the water, put on some music, Y/N of course, and got undressed.
He stepped into the shower and let out a moan of relaxation. Jung let the water run down his body and he closed his eyes. Soon, a picture of you appeared in his head. You and him, together, in the shower taking turns to clean each other. He took his hands that was covered in soap and grasped your beautiful tits and slowly massaged them. The image of him doing that sent a shock wave to his crotch, which he tried to ignore.
Slowly the image started to get steamy, your imaginary moans filled his ears making them melt. Jungkook grabbed his hard length that was dripping from the water and his precum. He began the stroke his cock slowly imagining it was your tight pussy. He moaned going faster feeling himself about the release any minute. He never lasted when he imagined it, but he promised you, kinda, that he’d go longer, seven days a week even. As he cummed and grunted watching his cum shoot all over the shower walls and some getting on the floor, he saw your face one last time and it was you giving you a sweet kiss on the tip of his cock that sent shivers up his spine.
After, he cleaned himself with some warm vanilla with brown sugar and almonds scented soap, your favorite, he got out, dried off, and got dressed. Jungkook looked at the time and saw he still had an hour to spare.
He went to bag and took out his computer and decided to watch a few of your videos. This is his day to day. You are his day to day schedule. No matter what, he will get at least 5 videos of Y/N in a day.
Tumblr media
Concerts were always fun! Making music was fun too! But once you heard that you would be collaborating with the Jeon Jungkook for a cover of his song Still With You, you were shocked! I mean less than A day ago, you found out that he was a huge fan, now you are collaborating with him?
You were currently in the studio rehearsing some of the notes when your manager walks in and says “ Hey! Mr, Jeon is on his way up! Just thought i should let you know.” He smiles and as your about to answer there is a soft knock. “ Come on in.” you say and stand up. Jungkook walks in and you almost gasp.
“Oh my you are more handsome in person.” Manager says lets out a little chuckle. “ I’m Tim, I’m her manager and that’s obviously -“ “ Y/N…” Jungkook cut Tim off before he could even get your name out. He couldn’t stop staring at you. Gosh, you are so beautiful in person. So small under his gaze. ‘i could take her from here, kill her manager and live off the grid, nobody would know. just so little…’
“ Right! It’s so nice to meet you, Jungkook! Um, you can sit here,” you point to the chair “ I’m gonna head in the booth to record these parts.” you smiled and took the paper in with you. Jungkook eagerly but slowly sat down in your chair. Watching as you put on the headset. Tim walked over and pressed a few buttons to make sure that it was recording. He put his thumb up and Y/N was in her own world.
“So, Jungkook, how long are you in the states for?” Tim asked leaning against the side of the frame, watching Y/N. Honestly, Jungkook hated Tim. He hated any that got close to what was his. He didn’t like it. When y/n did collaborate on videos he would report that video and thumbs down it. Even with songs he wouldn’t listen to it. He hated Tim because he wish he was Tim. Near her 24/7, being able to touch her, smell her, make her laugh, pick her outfits, take her to dinner, all the things Tim could do. He wanted Tim out the picture. Now.
“ Well originally it wasn’t for long, but then this opportunity came up and i wasn’t going to miss it for anything.” He answered plainly also staring at Y/N but with a different look in his eyes, Lust, Love, and Fear. Fear for you seeing him do what he was about to do to Tim. He didn’t want his wife getting scared yet. They haven’t even moved away yet.
“Yeah same with her. I’m gonna step out. I have a few things to do for a few other artists. Have fun and make a beautiful hit, i already know it is.” Tim smiled and left just like that. Jungkook let a breath of fresh air out. Finally.
Finally. It was time. Jungkook got up and took off his jacket. It was getting hot in here to him, though he knows Y/N prefers her studio cold. He went to the light switched and looked up seeing the lights could be changed to colors, he chose purple. Your favorite.
Y/N stepped out of the recording booth and closed the door to it and sat back down. You instantly went over your vocals and nodded your head liking how they came out. “ they are beautiful… perfect even.” Jungkook mumbled from behind you and pulled up a chair sitting a little too close to you. You definitely noticed it.
“Thank you, Jungkook.” Y/N smiled and stood up to look at a few things and Y/N almost wanted to run. The whole vibe was off, y/n could feel his eyes looking her up down since he walked in the studio. Y/N sat back down quickly and turned to Jungkook and forced a smile. “ It’s your turn! while you record it have to go speak with Tim about what to do next. i’ll Play the track when you are ready.” He watched her lips move, oh how he wanted to kiss them.
Jungkook snapped out of his trance and stood up entering the recording booth and sliding on the headphones. He loved the smell of the booth, it smelled just like you. your scent. Y/N put her thumb up and pressed play and didn’t even wait for him to start singing. She got up and left the room closing the door and taking a deep breath putting her head on the door. “ What the fuck was that?” you mumbled.
“What was what?” Tim spoke which made you jump harshly. “ FUCK! Tim don’t do that shit!”
“ I.. are you okay? you seem kinda scared. what’s wrong?” Tim read your face and just knew that you were upset, frightened even. “ Tim, there is something extremely wrong with… him.” she whispered while looking around. “ Him? Mr. Jeon? what do you mean? he seemed fine when i left.” He raises his eyebrow. “ Maybe you’re just nervous, Honey.”
Tumblr media
While Y/N was in the hallway, Jungkook was done singing his lines and exited the booth, smiling. He wanted to impress Y/N with his beautiful vocals. “ That was… Y/N?” he said looking around the room, not seeing his girl in the chair. He calmed down and remembered that she had to do something. ‘Good, she didn’t run away.’
Jungkook sat down and waited for her.
10 minutes…
20 minutes…
25 minutes…
Finally, the door opened and walked Y/N with some refreshments. “ Sorry, the internet was a little slow.” she sits down and avoids his hand that he held out for the water bottle and placed it on the table. “ Let’s finish this for now so you can get going i’m sure you are very busy.” she said as she saved and downloaded both their vocals onto her flash drive.
“ Can i be honest with you, Y/N?” Jungkook asked while staring at the computer. She turned to look at him and then back at the computer, closing it. “ Yeah, of course.” she scooted back a bit to just give space. she felt like she couldn’t breathe.
“ Im really… a huge fan of yours. I love everything you do..” he started. “ the feeling is mutual, Kook.” she commented and smiled. “ No, not in that light… Ever since i found your videos back in 2019, when you first started. I instantly felt this this connection. Like we belong together. I started liking your photos and videos everywhere and then i found out that you do music.. i just fell more in love with you.” As he confessed he was doing this weird smile like, he enjoyed telling Y/N his confession. “ Im in love with you.” he ended. Y/N was taken back. Her feeling wasn’t wrong. There is definitely something not right about him. this was it.
“ Oh, that’s so sweet! I appreciate it, Jungkook.. but i don’t know what you want from me after telling me that, I.. I feel as though maybe we just keep it professional. just two artists being friends yeah?” Y/N stood up and began to pack her things up. Jungkook felt something click in his head. Like a switch turned off. “ I don’t… i dont understand… You don’t… love me back?” he asked also standing up. “ Be friends?… what do you take me as? Do you like toying with me?”
“ What? Jungkook that’s not… i never did that.” Y/N answered confused. “ Oh baby don’t be confused. You said all those times you love me. You even twitted the feeling is mutual.” He stepped toward Y/N corning her between the table and his tall stature.
Y/N turned around slowly, “Listen, i didn’t mean it like that. And if you are going to talk to me, please give me some space.” He looked in your eyes and chuckled lightly. “ Why would we need space… i finally have you this close to me… i’m not letting it go.” He gently took the hair that was falling in front of your face and pushed it behind your ear. You leaned away from the touch and pushed him with all your strength. He moved back enough for you to get to the door with your bag and open it. You flew out the room the last thing you heard was Jungkook humming.
Tumblr media
You walked- no you ran through the car lot looking for your car, all of sudden not being able to remember where you parked this morning. You stopped to catch your breath and smiled once you saw your car.
You pressed the unlock button and quite literally jumped in your car and locked the doors. You put your hand on the steering wheel and just thought about what all happened. Jeon Jungkook just admitted to being madly in love with you. You should be happy, right? You are terrified. He stalked you basically your entire career and has been in love with you since you started your career. You can’t be happy after hearing that.
You got it together and grabbed your car keys and put it in the ignition, starting your car and driving home.
You should really check your back seats more..
Tumblr media
You happily went inside your apartment and instantly took a shower. You didn’t forget about what happened the few hours before but the shower just eased your mind.
Once you got out and got dressed, the pitch blackness of your bedroom comforted you usually, But it made you uneasy. As it should.
You got in bed and sleep quickly took over you but not enough, as you awoke to hearing your bed room door creak close. You were scared shitless to even get up, fear making your body go numb. You heard that same melody again, that now cursed melody of Still With You. Jungkook was humming it before you ran out.
‘oh my…’ you mouthed as you felt the bed dip and someone get under the covers with you and slowly wrap their arms around you.
“ Good Night, Baby~. Tomorrow is a big day for us. Our new beginning.” Jungkook whispered into your ear and kissed your neck softly before sighing and singing you to sleep. That same cursed song…
“언제쯤일까 다시 그댈 마주한다면
When will I face you again?
눈을 보고 말할래요
I want to look you in the eye and tell you
"보고 싶었어요"
"I missed you"

You’re the only good thing in my life pt 2
Tumblr media
-genre/warnings: arranged marriage, mentions of cheating in the past, angst, smut, hurt/comfort, fighting
A/n very sorry for the long wait, I had written my part 2 but decided I didn’t like it and rewrote it…. This is still not finished btw, there will be one last part I also just realized i never titled this :o
Once namjoons mother had found out that namjoon had been unfaithful to minseo she was furious. She knew how much minseo cared for her son. She couldn’t believe he’d do something like that to her.
But of course namjoon was her son. she was disappointed but at the end of the day she understood that people make mistakes.
After work he decided to go down to seokjins house to talk. he decided to give up his land. It has already caused enough trouble in his life. He didn’t want it anymore.
Upon arriving he lets himself in, immediately stopping in his tracks seeing his brother, seokjin sitting with his wife, minseo.
“Minseo, what are you doing here?”
Minseo stood as she ignored his question
“Well then, I should be heading home now”
Pushing past namjoon out the front door as he followed her
“Minseo wait!” He say’s grabbing her arm
“Let go of me, please” she couldnt even look at him, not because she didn’t want to but because it hurt too much
“I asked you a question. what are you doing at my brothers house?”
“Does it matter?” She tried tugging her arm out of his hold
He responded holding her tighter
“Yes it does. You have no business being here, especially alone with him.” What was he insinuating?
“I wanted to know who she was” she finally looked him in the eyes
“Who?”
“Your lover” tears started to brim her eyes
“Minseo, he has no business in our marriage. If you wanted to know the truth of what happened you could’ve ask me”
“I couldn’t. You know why? Because it hurts much more coming from you. I do not wish to know all the details”
It was silent for a moment before namjoon spoke “when that night happened, we were nearly a month married, we were Still not fully familiar with eachother. It was before I had realized how much you meant to me, before I knew that I loved you. I could not tell you who it was because I truly do not know. I try hard to forget that regretful night. Ever since the night we confessed our love for each other I’ve been thinking of no one else except you. Please minseo, im sorry.”
Tears ran down her face as she struggled to speak “it doesn’t matter. You were still my husband. I’ve been nothing but faithful to you since I found out about this whole situation” she nearly ran when he loosened his grip on her arm. She didn’t want anyone to see her like this.
Namjoon stood there feeling defeated. Seeing jin staring out the window. When they locked eyes jin quickly hid behind the curtains. Namjoon left shaking his head.
Upon returning home, it was quiet. Namjoon had called off their weekly family dinner once again, saying it was because he wasn’t feeling well but everyone in the family already knew what was going on.
Heading to bed with a heavy heart, feeling absolutely horrible not having minseo there to comfort him.
Minseo spent most of her days avoiding him at all costs. She knew she couldn’t hide forever but every time she saw him she was reminded of everything that has been happening but at the same time she was missing her husband. She soon realized that she really didn’t have anyone else.
Namjoon had started working even later into the night just to keep his mind busy. Trying to get things done as he kept postponing them all week.
“Namjoon” he was broken out of his thoughts as he saw her, minseo.
“Yes? What happened?” He immediately stood up
“Your mother, she can’t get a hold of you. She’s been calling for a while now”
“Oh, yeah I was busy, I’ll call her in a minute-”
“I already talked to her, she said she’s having a gathering at her home tomorrow and you must attend, no exceptions”
He nodded “will you be going?”
“I might, Depending on how I’m feeling. Night.” She said walking out the door of his home office not giving him a second glance
“Goodnight!” He said before she shut the door. He slumped back into his chair not remembering what he was doing just a minute ago.
-
The next day namjoon waited practically the whole day for minseo. He thought they would drive there together but she never asked or even mentioned she was going. He decided to go before it got too late, he figured she probably didn’t want to go.
Namjoon arrived a little late but he knew he had to show up or else his mother would have given him an earful.
Walking in seeing everyone talking, laughing with each other. He immediately felt nervous. He shouldn’t be, this is his family.
“Namjoon!” His mother is the first to greet him “thank you for coming, dear” she kissed his cheek
“Well you said no exceptions so here I am” he sighed
“Everyone is here, go say hello” she encouraged with a smile on her face
“Mother, im really not-“
“Minseo is here too” his mother added
“Where?” He questioned immediately looking around for her
“I believe she’s out back”
Immediately going to see if she was actually here, going out the back door of his mothers house. He sees her. Sitting beautifully, legs crossed in her white floral dress talking with a family member. They both stop mid conversation as he spoke
“Hi- im sorry to interrupt” namjoon looked nervous
“That’s alright dear, I’ll be heading inside now. It was good seeing you sweetheart” his great aunt says as she said goodbye to minseo
“I thought you weren’t coming” namjoon sat down once they were alone
“I never said I wasn’t” taking a sip of her drink feeling nervous herself
“I waited for you, I thought maybe we’d drive down together” namjoon searched for her eyes but she wouldn’t look at his
“Seokjin brought me.”
“Oh” Namjoon was beginning to feel a sort of hatred towards his brother. He just couldn’t keep his nose out of his marriage
“You look beautiful as always”changing the subject he reached for her hands that were on the table
“I’m leaving” She finally looked at him as she pulled her hands away
“Leaving? What do you mean?”
“Back home, with my mother.”
“What, Why? My love you-“
“Because I need to. I feel lonely here, I need to get away for a while. It’s all too much”
“Everyone loves you here, my mother, our aunts everyone adores you- I can’t be without you, please” he didn’t realized tears had begun to form in his eyes
“You’ve lived without me before, you’ll be fine namjoon. I’m sure you’ll find someone else to entertain you”
“No. No I don’t want anyone else. Just you, Minseo. I can’t imagine my life without you. I-I love you so much. Please, please tell me what I should do so that you’ll stay” his heart felt like it was aching in his chest. He’d never thought that his worst nightmare would be to lose his wife.
she could see it in his eyes how sorry he was but her trust had been broken “How can I trust you anymore joon?”
“I promise you that I’ll never hurt you again my love. I truly never meant to hurt you. I honestly thought that this marriage wasn’t going to be a real marriage. But I-I fell for you so hard.” He himself would’ve never thought this would happen but it did. And he’s never been so happy to have found her.
She went to put one of her hands on top of his arm “I still love you namjoon. You can’t stop loving someone so quickly, but I need some time”
Looking at her with big glossy eyes he nodded “you will be back right?”
They were interrupted by namjoons mother as she stepped outside to find the two
“Kids! Come inside. I’ve made a ham” she waved her hand for them to come join the family
“We’re coming! Come on, can’t keep mom waiting” minseo was first to get up as he followed
Everyone was serving themselves. Minseo wasn’t feeling hungry but she didn’t want to be rude so she made herself a plate. Namjoon wasn’t sure if he should sit next to her or not. Minseo sat at the full table so he had no other choice but to sit somewhere else.
Namjoons mother noticed he wasn’t enjoying himself. She figured whatever the two we’re talking about outside caused this. She always taught her sons to fight for the people they love. She’s just hoping that namjoon will take her advice.
He certainly didn’t enjoy watching his wife laugh at all his brothers jokes from across the room. Didn’t those two hate each other? Minseo and jin were actually good friends before this whole marriage happened. Is it weird to say that this whole situation brought them closer? Minseo realized she didn’t really have anyone else to talk to but jin was there, like old times.
After it got later and people started leaving. Jin offered to drive minseo back home to which she accepted before she went to thank Mrs Kim
“Thank you for coming, dear” she held both of her hands
“Of course, your food is always delicious”
Namjoon now walking into the living room coming from the bathroom. seeing his mother and wife together always made him happy. But now it just made him nervous. Not knowing what his mother would say to her
“Hi” he said looking directly at minseo
“Hi, I’m going to be heading home now. Jins taking me”
“Okay. I’m going to stay here a bit long. Ill be there soon” he didn’t like that idea but he needed to stay to talk to his mother privately. Minseo nodded leaving.
Namjoon started helping his mother put the left overs away
“Do you want to take any of these home with you dear?” His mother asked as she was looking for Tupperware, immediately stopping as she heard a sob come from her son
“Joon? Whats the matter?” She pulled him into a hug as he continued to cry into her shoulder
“She’s leaving me”
“Oh no, honey I’m so sorry. What did she say?”
“She-she’ll be staying with her mother for a while but what if….what if she doesn’t come back, what if she stops loving me. And jin–“
“Honey, she’ll come back. she just needs time. I’ve seen how much you two love each other. And jin, don’t worry about jin. He’s your brother, he’s just trying to get under your skin. If you don’t want to lose her then you better go and show her how much she means to you”
Namjoon nodded not really able to get his words out now, wiping his tears “I should go and make sure she got home safe”
“Go, and when she leaves come visit me often so you won’t be so alone”
On the way home jin asked a lot of questions about her leaving as well, he was actually the one to suggested going away for a while
“Did your mother ask why you were coming home so suddenly?”
“Yes she did. I told her it was because I was home sick. I didn’t have the heart to tell her.” Minseo says looking out the passenger window feeling mostly tired
“You know you wouldn’t be going through all of this if you would’ve chosen me” jin spoke looking directly ahead on the road
Minseo slowly turning her head to him “what?” She said in disbelief. She didn’t know whether or not he was making another joke right now.
“All those years, and yet you chose him”
He in fact wasn’t joking
“I dont understand jin. You made it clear that we were just friends” minseo did have a crush on him back when they were in school but she was turned down countless of times
“You were just a kid! And by the time I thought maybe you were ready you had namjoon already courting you. I still believe he did it just to get back at me”
“Jin, why are you tell me this now-“
Jin pulled the car over quickly scaring minseo a bit, now facing her
“I’m saying nows our chance, I still want you…” jin moved his hand to her thigh feeling her soft legs, slowly moving up-
“Jin, what the hell!” She moved his hand off her thigh “I’m married. And im sorry but that was the past” her other hand searched for the door handle
“Oh come on, you’re still going to be faithful to him? even after everything he’s done to you-“
Finally finding the door handle she practically jumps out the car slamming the door, jin also jumps out as he sees her walking away
“What are you doing?” She ignores him still walking away ”Minseo, come on. Ok I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you angry”
“Just go, I’ll be fine.”
“I’m not going leave you walking, just get in”
“I said no. Now leave before I start screaming”
“Fine, but it’s not my fault if you get lost.” Jin got into his car and sped away leaving minseo walking. She knew how to get home, it would just take her a while.
Namjoon arrived home before minseo. He went to check on her before he went to bed but he couldn’t find her. Of course this worried him. He checked every corner of the house. He even checked outside. Calling jins house because that was the last person she was with but he didn’t answer. He decided he was going to go look for her, taking the route he thinks jin would’ve taken but before he could get out the drive way minseo walks in the gate. exhausted and teary eyed.
“Minseo! I was worried sick about you. I was just about to-“ seeing her condition he could tell something did happen “are you alright? Where’s seokjin?”
“I decided to walk home”
“Walk? That’s quite the walk. Did something happen?”
She sighed “just jin being jin” she went to walk past him to go inside but he stopped her
“Did he do something to you?” He knew his brother, he wanted to take everything he had, even his own wife.
“Look I’m really tired right now I just-“
“Tell me, please. I swear if he touched you-“
“I stopped him before he went too far, And please don’t go cause a scene, He’s not been himself lately”
Namjoon was boiling. Take his job, Take his land, but not his wife. Namjoon didn’t want to upset minseo so he kept his cool, at least for right now.
“Let’s get inside, it’s cold.” She tried changing the subject. Minseo said good night before heading to her room. She couldn’t sleep so she spent practically the whole night packing her bags. Her mother was expecting her tomorrow.
Namjoon also couldn’t sleep. he couldn’t believe his own brother would do that to him. Jin knew how desperate namjoon was to win back minseo. He wondered if maybe minseo secretly wished she had ended up with jin. He knew jin had a crush on her back in the day. But it was too late for jin. She was his.
The next morning minseo had started bringing her bags down stairs so that when it was time to go she’d be ready. All the noise caused namjoon to come out of his room. Seeing minseo struggling with her bags.
“Here, let me help” he immediately took the bags out of her hands carrying them for her
“Thank you” minseo slightly out of breath
“Are you… leaving already?” He didn’t know she’d be leaving so soon.
“Yes, my mother is sending a driver to take me. He’ll be here any minute” as if on cue the door bell rings. “Oh- that must be him” minseo going to open the door greeting the older man
“I’ll be taking your bags to the car now”
She had a lot, in total of five suitcases and two duffel bags. That kind of worried namjoon. This meant she was staying long right?
“Minseo, be safe. And call me if you need anything. Money or if you need help with yard work-“ he’d take any opportunity to see her
“I’ll be fine. thank you” how badly she wanted to say more, a hug goodbye even. But she couldn’t bring herself to do so
He watched her leave. Feeling as though a part of him was leaving as well. But he knew this wasn’t the end, It couldn’t be.
Going inside their home looking around felt empty. He didn’t like it, He doesn’t remember life without minseo.
He has a lot of things to get done. But first, seokjin.
He couldn’t wait any longer. He so badly wanted to confront Jin about what happened that night. And as soon as minseo left he went to Jins house
Upon arriving he was going to just walk in but the door was locked. He just about pounded on his door feeling all those emotions he had last night come back.
Jin had looked as if he had just woken up, opening the door confused and clearly hung over
Namjoon wasted no time barging in, pushing Jin causing him to stumble. Jin had no time to process what was going on as namjoon brought his fist to jins face
“What the fuck!” Jin groaned in pain clutching his face still on the floor
Namjoon crouching down to be face to face with Jin “who do you think you are? Putting your hands on my wife?”
Seokjin smiled slightly clearly not sorry “what, are you afraid? I bet when you’re inside her cunt she wishes it was me”
Namjoon threw another fist to his brothers face as jin was trying to block them with his hands “don’t- fucking- talk about her like that. what has gotten into you, jin? I don’t understand”
“You took her from me” Jin mumbled out, face throbbing
“I didn’t take shit from you. She was your friend, that’s all she ever was to you.”
“No, it was more than that-“
“You only wanted her when you saw that we started seeing eachother” namjoon was right, jin felt jealous. He was so used to having minseo do everything he had asked for and when she found someone new to follow around he had realized how much he missed her.
namjoons intentions weren’t pure either. He needed to be wed, and Fast. His father had just passed away and his mother wanted namjoon to claim the land but the agreement was that it went to whoever was to be married first. Namjoon wasn’t ready to be married, But if he really did need to be married he’d pick someone he already knew. Someone who he knew would be a good wife. Minseo. She had been a family friend for years and she was a nice girl. Why not right?
Of course as soon as this was brought up to her father he was already cashing the check. Minseo was young. And she’d do anything her father asked, besides she knew namjoon already. She just truly wanted to be loved
Namjoon was always sweet and respectful, and of course she fell for him almost instantly but after the marriage was made official it was like he wasn’t interested anymore. Almost as though he was only being nice to make sure she wouldn’t back out. She was disappointed but as we know this didn’t last very long. She fell first but he fell harder.
“Stay the hell out of my life” namjoon said leaving Jin alone on the floor.
Minseo had arrived to her mothers house excited. She had missed her. She didn’t live that far away, it was about two hours away but she never had time to visit that often. As soon as minseo pulled up she saw her mother waiting outside. She immediately jumped into her mothers arms
“Oh darling, you look so beautiful” minseos mother said kissing the side of her head
“I’ve missed you so much mom”
“I have too, so much.. where is namjoon?”
Minseo still has yet to tell her mother. Her mom loves namjoon so much, she knows this will break her. but she was mostly keeping this from her because the same had happened to her. Minseos father had cheated on her mother countless of times and she took him back every single time. She didn’t want to bring up those awful memories.
“He, um, he has work so he couldn’t come”
“Oh, when you said you needed to get away I thought you meant the both of you. But this is even better! It’ll be just us girls then” her mother was truly excited to spend some time with her.
Minseo slept in her old bedroom, it felt weird but it brought back a lot of good memories. She didn’t have any siblings growing up but she spent most of her childhood with namjoon and seokjin. Mostly just seokjin though. Maybe if this whole marriage hadn’t happened everything would still be perfect?…Except it wouldn’t because she wouldn’t have her love.
It was hard for her to fall asleep these days, and when she eventually did it wasn’t for very long.
After day two of staying with her mom she was so happy to be here with her but she felt the want to go back home constantly.
Her mother could tell something was going on but she didn’t want to say anything yet.
Minseo was out back sunbathing on the pool chairs but she heard her mother shouting, immediately she got up and went inside to see what was going on. Her heart dropped when she saw him, namjoon, hugging her mother.
“Joon, what are doing here?!” Minseo was confused and a bit annoyed.
“Oh- um I just wanted to check on you- and to see mom of course!” He smiled at her mother
“Oh joon you know you’re always welcome! I’m working on dinner so make yourself comfortable”
Minseo left walking to her room to change out of her bathing suit not knowing namjoon was following right behind her. It startled her a bit. She quickly put on her robe that was hanging on her door
“You shouldn’t be here namjoon” he could clearly see she was angry
“I know, I’m sorry but I was worried about you-”
“I’m perfectly fine. No need to worry”
“Your mom was so excited to see me. I was actually kind of nervous to come because I wasn’t sure if you told her about anything yet-“
“I haven’t…” she sighed “I don’t think I will. Just go down and help her, I’ll be there after I change” he nodded quickly exiting the room
Minseo had slipped into some comfortable clothes and went to join the two. Already hearing them cracking up from all the way across to house
“What’s so funny?” She smiled
“Oh darling come see this” her mom said barely able to contain her laughter “it’s from when you guys were just kids and used to walk to school every morning, Remember when that car drove by a puddle and it splashed you guys so bad you all ran home crying”
“You have a picture?!” minseo doesn’t remember this being so funny
“Of course! I knew some day we’d be able to laugh back at this”
Namjoon smiling while admiring the beautiful smiles on their faces as well
“One day when you guys have kids of your own you better take all the pictures you can, time flies by so fast” her mother adds walking back to the stove leaving the two in the dinning room
“You remember this day?” namjoon says picking up one of the many photos her mother had pulled out. It was a more recent photo. From last years birthday.
“Of course I do, it was one of the best days of my life” she smiled remembering how special she felt that day. Before she could do anything else her mother began serving them. Enjoying the nice hot meal catching up, everything felt almost normal. Almost.
“I’m stuffed” namjoon said rubbing his stomach
“Me too, every time I eat I get real sleepy. Minseos bed is a twin but I’m sure you’ll both fit” her mother added
“Oh no need, he’ll be heading home now-“
“What? No, it’s late honey. Don’t you want to stay namjoon?”
He felt pressure from both sides wanting to say yes but needing to say no, for minseo but… he couldn’t.
“Of course i do!” He smiled but minseo was mad, heading to her room. Namjoon joined her after he had helped clean up.
“Wow Your room is smaller than I remember” namjoon said looking around
“Yeah well everything’s bigger when you’re 13… you can take the bed tonight”
“No that’s ok, it’s your bed after all”
“Just take the bed joon, you’re our guest”
“Um actually we’re her guests”
She rolled her eyes “fine we both take the bed, but get your own blanket” he smiled at her
both of them were settled into the small twin bed facing back to back in silence trying to fall asleep but neither of them could
“Namjoon” minseo said quietly which caused namjoon to turn his body around or face her
“Yeah?”
“Why are you really here?” Still not facing him
“Because I was worried about you… and because I missed you”
It was silent again for a moment until he heard her sniffle immediately feeling his heart begin to race
“minseo” he whispered as she now turned around to finally face him
“I missed you so much joonie, so much but you- you hurt me so bad” she was trying to keep her voice down as best as she could
He immediately pulled her into his chest as if on instinct “I know it my love, and I’ll forever regret it. I’ll spend the rest of my life fighting to get you back if I have to. You’re the only person I truly need” he was trying to hold himself together as well
“I love you, even if you decide to not forgive me-” he was full on crying now. He couldn’t hold back
Seeing him like this just hurt her even more, looking at him she went to grab ahold of his face “I love you too joon, always” with both of them crying he immediately went in for a kiss.
it felt like they haven’t kissed in ages. He missed the way she’d grabbed his hair whenever they kissed like this. His hands searched her body missing having her like this.
Namjoon feeling himself began to grow hard, he couldn’t control it. He didn’t want to ruin the moment but In all honesty, they both needed it
As soon as she realized she paused
“I’m sorry- it just-“ he tried to explain but she didn’t care. Reaching down to feel him
“It’s okay” she pressed down feeling all of him causing him to groan, she went back into the kiss while her hand moved inside of his sweats grabbing ahold of his heavy cock, she started pumping him nice and slow. Namjoon very much enjoying this he started thrusting into her hand. His mouth agape as he was moaning quietly into her ear
“Feel good?” She asked still pumping him just how he liked it
“Yes, so good-” god she missed this
“You’re mine right?” She knew he was but she still wanted to hear it
“Yes, im all yours.. I promise” his hands began roaming her body. Missing how she felt in his arms. He grabbed the hem of her tank top asking for permission to take it off, she wasn’t wearing a bra so her chest was fully exposed now. He immediately went to her chest leaving the most gentle kisses to both of them. focusing on her nipples as she was tugging on his hair softly, feeling just as good as him. When He went to pull her pajama shorts down she stopped him
“Wait, we can’t” minseo said slightly out of breath “my mother might hear us”
Namjoon knew that was a possibility but he was so horny right now he truly didn’t care
“We’ll be quiet, I promise. I need to feel you so bad, love” he said slowly grinding against her. Minseo was just as needy and of course she gave in
“Hurry up then” she said and not even a second later namjoon was taking off the rest of his and her clothes.
Hovering over her He was teasing his tip in while he played with her clit because he knew once he was in, it wouldn’t be for very long. It feels like forever since he last had her like this. He wanted both of them to feel good.
Minseo was a whimpering mess as she tried to keep quiet. Namjoon the same, bitting his lip as he watched her
“I need you inside me, please” she whispered as namjoon started pushing himself inside
“Fuuck-“ pulling back feeling her squeeze him so good “I missed this pussy” he said into her neck as he found a good pace
They were both out of it, trying to keep quiet but feeling all too good. Minseos legs we slightly shaking as he started going faster. Namjoon couldn’t hold back his moans, trying to muffle them into the pillow
Minseo wrapped her legs around his waist just like she always did, letting him go deeper. Namjoon was close.
He began kissing her breasts, admiring how beautiful she looked under him. He’d do anything for her.
“My love, im close”
“Me too, kiss me joonie”
and he did, kissing her with urgency as he came inside her. He didn’t stop until she was finished. She wasn’t too far behind him as she was begging him to not stop
She came hard around him, feeling her pussy throbbing, namjoon still thrusting slowing letting her ride out her high
They both stayed in that position for a moment before he got up to wipe her clean, getting one of his shirts to clean the mess he made that was now spilling out of her. Being gentle because he knew she was still sensitive
“Thank you” she whispered once he was back in bed
“I should be the one thanking you” namjoon was smiling ear to ear
“For what silly” she knew what he meant but wanted to tease him
“For you know… being you”
“Oh stop” she laughed quietly “let’s go to bed now, im tired”
“Goodnight” he kissed her again before he snuggled onto her
“Night” minseo didnt know how she was able to live without him for so long but she did know that she hated it.
The two were finally able to have a good night sleep, the only thing that was missing was their bed at home.
But If only they knew what was waiting for them back at home….

Without You [Yoongi x Reader, Hobi x Reader]
25. Betrayal ✎
Tumblr media
Jin rushes to the driver’s side of Yoongi’s car, sliding between his group mate and the metal death trap he’s about to climb into. Meeting the rapper’s glare, Jin flashes his brilliant, self-effacing smile and says, “Maybe you should let me drive.”
He holds out his hand expectantly for the keys, holding the smile until Yoongi relents. He all but slams the keys into Jin’s hands before stalking around to the passenger side and clambering inside. Jin arches his neck back, stealing a calming breath while he stares up at the glowing moon, and then slides into the driver’s seat.
“Do we actually need to go to the studio?” he asks, starting the ignition.
Yoongi lets out a scream instead of answering.
Jin nods, as if this is exactly the answer he was expecting, and backs out of his in-laws' driveway. He might as well head back to Seoul but he figures they’ll probably end up at Yoongi’s apartment rather than the studio. He still hasn’t totally pieced together what set Yoongi off but he knows it has to do with Jay provoking him about y/n.
The silence stretches between them as they get on the road but still Jin doesn’t push. He’s learned that it’s best to let Yoongi stew on things and then speak when he’s ready. He knows it’s hard for Yoongi to put his feelings into words but he finds a way eventually.
After what feels like an eternity, Yoongi sighs and drops his head into his hands. Jin keeps his hand steady on the wheel but takes a moment to look Yoongi over. His shoulders are shaking and barely audible over the whir of the air conditioning he sniffles.
Jin returns his attention to the road but reaches across the center console to pat his friend’s shoulder.
“Did you know?” Yoongi hiccups.
“Did I know what?” Jin counters.
“I know you knew about Seojun. There’s no way y/n kept her child from Irene and there’s no way Irene would keep that a secret from you but did you know he was mine?” Yoongi asks. He’s pulled his face out of his hands now and is staring pointedly at his hyung.
Jin swallows hard. So that’s what this is all about. He’s honestly more impressed that Yoongi didn’t have a more dramatic reaction. y/n and Jay survived and that’s surprising considering how scathing Yoongi can be when he wants to be. That’ll probably come after Yoongi has come down from his shock.
He nods, “I knew.”
“Hyung!” Yoongi moans, falling back in his seat, “How could you keep that a secret from me?”
“It wasn’t my secret to tell you,” Jin says. It’s a flimsy argument considering that Yoongi really did deserve to know. Everyone had had misgivings about y/n’s decision, of course, but they had respected her wishes at Yoongi’s expense.
“Why does everyone keep betraying me?” Yoongi sniffs, “You’re supposed to be my best friend, Seokjin.”
His words wound Jin. He’s right though. For Yoongi, the people that he has loved and trusted the most have all left him without hearing him out. They’ve ignored him or lied to him and now Jin is included in that list of people. He wants to be angry at y/n for making him complicit but he knows there was no clear right choice.
“I know, Yoongi, I’m sorry,” he says, “How did you find out?”
Yoongi scoffs, the sound so bitter, so pained, that Jin worries for y/n when he eventually lets it out on her. “Jay told me.”
This surprises Jin. Jay had been firmly in y/n’s corner this whole time. She might kill him for it.
“And you know, that’s understandable. It’s so obvious that he’s in love with her so it makes sense he’d try to drive a wedge between us but when I realized he was telling the truth? I feel sick, hyung,” Yoongi confesses.
“I’m surprised you didn’t rage at both of them right then,” Jin says.
Yoongi shakes his head, “In front of her parents? In front of…” — his next words come out strangled — “the baby? I wasn’t going to humiliate myself like that.”
“I guess that’s a good call. You are reacting way better than I would have if I found out the love of my life hid a child from me,” Jin says.
“Love of my life,” Yoongi scoffs again, “What a joke.”
Jin grimaces. He has no right to be disappointed about Yoongi reacting this way but a part of him had held out hope that Yoongi and y/n would find their way back to each other eventually. Even now, he still hopes they’ll find a way to heal but there’s bound to be a lot of pain first. And with Jay back in the picture, it might be too much all at once for Yoongi to move past.
“I guess a secret child does put a damper on things,” Jin tries to say lightheartedly.
Yoongi’s tone is dark, “Do you think she ever loved me?”
“She loves you right now,” Jin says but Yoongi shakes his head.
“If that were true, I would have known that I was a father two years ago.”
“Yoongi, it’s more complicated than that. Take some time to wrap your mind around things but I think you should talk things out with y/n before you go jumping to conclusions,” Jin says.
Another silence falls over them. Jin can only imagine where Yoongi’s thoughts have taken him. He has to consider the fact that he has a son now. y/n lied to him but he has to reconcile that with the fact that he absolutely still loves her. Jay is back in his life, another person that he has loved for a long time, another person that left him behind and hurt him.
He needs time and Jin will stay by him as long as he needs him.
They pull into the parking garage for Yoongi’s apartment and even though Jin is the one behind the wheel, the parking attendant knows to open the gate. All the members have open invitations to park at each other’s places. He slides into one of Yoongi’s open spots and turns off the car.
“Am I the only one who didn’t know? You know, that Seojun is my son? Did the rest of BTS know?”
“Jimin was the first to know,” Jin says, “And I only got to know because Irene knew. And Jay knew because, well, because he lived in LA and they reconnected.”
“And that’s it?” Yoongi asks.
Jin bites his lip, “Well, no. Jungkook knew too because of Jimin.”
“But not Namjoon and Tae?”
Jin shrugs, “Not until a few days ago.”
Yoongi’s shoulders slump, “But I was the last one to find out?”
Jin nods apologetically. Yoongi just sighs and pushes the passenger door open, “So everyone took y/n’s side. I guess I should be grateful to Hobi. At least he kept it real with me in the end.”
“Yoongi, that’s not fair!” Jin calls as Yoongi steps out of the car.
The rapper stoops back down to peer into the car, “You can take my car for the night. Go back home to Irene. I just need to be alone tonight, I think.”
Jin is not about to let Yoongi be alone though and he chases after him to his apartment. Yoongi doesn’t really protest. He lets Jin camp out on his couch while he stumbles around the apartment in a daze, fixated on all the spaces y/n used to take up, lost in all the memories when he should have told her how he really felt.
He imagines all the signs of her that would be here if she had stayed. A lump rises in his throat when he realizes that there would also be signs of their son too. His spare room would be a nursery now. Toys would be scattered across the place. A high chair at the dining room table. Bottles and baby clothes.
That must be what her apartment with Hobi looks like now.
A sob escapes him and Jin is instantly at his side, wrapping strong arms around him and pulling him close. “I’m so sorry, Yoongi.”
Yoongi just sobs. He’s supposed to have y/n. He’s supposed to have Seojun. But his apartment is empty, barely even a space for him to inhabit. There’s only a huge hole now where his life was supposed to be.

A Glance & A Dance
This is @violettduchess request for my 50 follower event. I already explained the saga behind this but it really was so much fun! I decided to go less trauma more because the one I had with more trauma and angst was getting pretty dark and I also couldn't pull it together. Only thing I wish I could have come up with a better title, I'm trying to get more creative with them just it's not working well. I hope you enjoy and that it adds to your day, and thanks again for the support and congrats! Mild swearing, WC approx 1967.
Tumblr media
The stars in the night sky glimmered like jewels, as did the young ladies in their splendid dresses. The palace ballroom was lively and the music drifted on the night breeze while everyone laughed and enjoyed themselves, everyone except for two princes who stood on opposite sides of the room, one smiling while talking with everyone and masking his pain, the other silently watching.
He's always been strong. He'll get over her, he has to.
The first notes of another waltz began to play but rather than ask any of the dozen young ladies around him for their hand Leon gave them all a smile and walked away.
Come on Leon there's gotta be one woman here that-
“For somebody who's idea this whole thing was, you don't look to be having any fun.”
Jin didn't even bother to turn in Clavis's direction.
“Me having fun isn't the point of this.”
“Oh?”
Jin took the drink that Clavis so casually offered him and took a long sip, his gaze still focused on Leon.
“It won't work, you know that right.”
“Why not? He fell in love before and a ball is the perfect place for it after all, two hearts can become one with a dance.”
Clavis blinked in a daze for a moment then he burst out laughing.
“If it were really that easy I don't think you'd be feeling so guilty now would you."
Perceptive bastard aren't you.
“It may hurt for a while but it'll be better in the long run for everyone if he just moves on. None of us were supposed to fall in love with Emma to begin with-”
“But some of us did, didn't we? And I'm not just talking about Leon.”
Jin's grip tightened around his glass and his jaw clenched ever so slightly.
“You confessing to being in love with her too, Clavis?”
“Me no, but perhaps you want to take a good look at yourself.”
“I'm not in love with Emma.”
I can't allow myself to be. She deserves a hell of a lot better than me, better than Leon too. She deserves a life better than anything that awaited her here, she deserves to be happy.
Jin was expecting Clavis to laugh or try to push him on the matter but instead there was only silence. When he finally bothered to look at Clavis he found him staring down watching the grape juice swirl inside his glass as he toyed with it.
“I don't think any of us is qualified to give lectures on love or what to do about it to anyone but, I know Leon isn't happy and I doubt Emma is either. Is making two people so obviously miserable really the right thing to do, or is it what's easiest for you?”
Clavis didn't wait for a reply, instead walking off into the crowd leaving Jin alone with his thoughts. Jin was frustrated, not even with Clavis but with himself. How many times had he asked himself the same questions Clavis had just asked him? Jin downed the last of his drink and started walking across the ballroom.
I need some damn air.
He crossed the ballroom and exited out onto the balcony. The night air was cooling and helped to calm his thoughts as he leaned against the railing. As he stood there listening to the music he was brought back to a night similar to this one some twelve years ago.
“How have you been enjoying tonight's ball so far?”
“Fine.”
“What do you think of the guests? Any in particular that have made an impression?”
Jin knew what his father was asking and internally he grimaced.
“Sure, quite a few of them have sand in all the right places.”
“Is that all you have to say?”
“I'm sure there's a couple that wouldn't mind playing by my rules in-”
The King's fist came down hard on the balcony railing sending a dull thud into the night air.
“Is that all you care about? Just satisfying your base lust and carnal desires!”
Jin's jaw clenched, how dare his father try to lecture him on giving into base desires.
“What about your future? What about love?”
“Love!?”
Jin spat the word out as if it burned his mouth.
“Yes love. I would like for you to have love in your life, like I did once. A ball is the perfect place for that after all, it was when I was dancing with your mother that I realized how in love with her I really was.”
“What?”
“It was a waltz. We were from two different worlds and I hadn't really allowed myself to think…but all it took was a glance during that dance and I knew. She loved me and wanted me as much as I did her and so I took a chance. When the waltz was done I took her out on the balcony and I confessed my love for her and asked if she loved me in return. She gave me the sweetest smile and and an even sweeter kiss, our two hearts became one because of that dance.”
“Love is nothing but a curse.”
“Then I hope it's a curse you one day have.”
Jin stood there and sighed at the memory, he was about to go back in when he noticed Leon further down, his hands resting on the balcony railing and a look of sadness in his eyes.
Come on Leon, you have to know that doing this is best for everyone. Hell if Emma could have been happy here I would have made my move well before you ever had a chance to make her fall in love with you but she wouldn't be happy she’d just be mis-
‘Is making two people so obviously miserable really the right thing to do?’
No, no it's not. I really screwed this one up didn't I? Hopefully I still have time to make this right. I may not be the one who gets to make her happy but-
“Hey.”
Jin called out to Leon as he approached him but Leon didn't acknowledge him, things had been strained between them lately. Leon had come up with a proposal to keep Emma by his side and all their other brothers had readily agreed to it but Jin wouldn't budge, not until tonight.
“Leon.”
“Oh Jin, sorry I didn't see you out here.”
“You looked like you were thinking pretty hard about something.”
“It was nothing, do you need something or.”
“That depends.”
“On?”
“On you admitting what you were thinking about.”
“Then forget it.”
Jin knew Leon had every right to be angry with him, and that was only for the stuff Leon knew about, but the distance between them now and the venom in Leon's voice stung. As Leon began to walk back inside Jin called out to him.
“You were thinking about Emma again weren't you?”
“If you're going to try and-”
“Just listen okay, I promise you don't have to listen to another word I ever say as long as you listen to me now.”
I'm the one who needs to let go so she can be happy.
**** One year later ****
On another night when the sky was filled with stars that shined like jewels and music was carried on the breeze a prince stood silently watching but this time it wasn't another prince he watched.
Emma had agreed to annul clause ninety nine and shortly after she had returned to the palace for good. All his brothers were happy she was back but especially Leon, Jin had never seen him as happy as that night on the balcony when he told him he would give in but only if Emma agreed to it.
I guess it all worked out for the best. I'm not the type of man who could make a woman like Emma happy, not really anyways but Leon's different. I know he'll do anything to make sure her life is full of love and happiness. Guess you got your wish after all huh old man?
Jin was watching Emma as she talked with a group of women her age then suddenly their eyes met across the room and she smiled at him.
I love seeing you smile like that. If only I could truly let you go but as much as I've tried I can't.
Jin saw that Emma was excusing herself and his eyes followed her as she came to stand at his side.
“Hey there Emma, you look like you're having fun.”
“I really am, I've talked to so many people and danced so much tonight.”
“That's good, it's important to enjoy yourself.”
“What about you? I’ve barely seen you talk to anyone or dance once tonight.”
“Haha. Is that your way of trying to get me to dance with you?”
Jin reached out and playfully tousled Emma's hair.
“I'm flattered but I couldn't possibly dance with you.”
“Are you afraid I'll step on your toes like I did to Yves?”
“No, I'm afraid that with just one dance you'll fall madly in love with me.”
“Oh I see…wait, what?”
Jin slid an arm around Emma's waist, his voice taking on a seductive lilt.
“It's only natural after all, the soft music, the rhythmic motions, how close you have to be to one another, the longing gazes. One dance is all it can take for two people's hearts to become one”
This may be selfish of me but...
“It also helps that I'm already madly in love with you. I have been for a long time and I want to be the one to make you happy so badly it hurts. You have no idea how jealous I am of Leon, that he’s the one who gets to be with you, kiss you, make love to you.”
Jin tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear.
“I'm also super sexy and still in the prime of my youth, so all those combined the only thing you could do is fall in love with me and then I'd have to fight Leon for you, shirtless of course.”
I can't be with you and that's the best thing for you, even if you didn't love somebody else it would still be best for us not to be together. All I can do for you now is watch over you.
Jin’s voice was purposely light, a smile on his face and he started to laugh as he removed his hand from Emma's waist.
“You should see the expression on your face, did I take it too far this time?.”
“Jin, don't tease me like that! I thought you were serious!”
“Sorry, I promise I won't tease you like that again. How about I make it up to you by dancing with you after all?”
Jin was about to offer Emma his hand but then he noticed Leon approaching from the corner of his eye.
“Looks like that dance will have to wait for another time, unless you really do want me to fight Leon shirtless?”
“No! I'm perfectly fine with no shirtless fighting!”
“Do I want to know what the two of you were talking about?”
“Leon! Jin was just teasing me again, that's all.”
“Well then it looks like I'm just in time, care to dance Emma?”
“With pleasure!”
“See you two later. Oh and Emma, don't forget what I said, it only takes one dance.”
I don't really mind living with this curse. Leon makes you happy and as long as you can always be happy, unlike them.
The ball was long over but in the stillness just before the dawn, when shadows played along the walls there in the middle of the ballroom the ghosts of a Belle and her Prince took one more glance and one more dance.

The Bangtan Gal Chapter 2- The Debut
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary: Jen continues to build friendships with her band members before they prepare to record their music videos and debut on stage. Jen starts to get sick for the first time in South Korea and tries to escape Jin's efforts to make her take medicine. Everyone celebrates Jungkook's birthday with a big surprise during the concept trailer filming. Rapmon steals Jen's donuts and is forced to go with her to the store to get more and ends up breaking something. BTS begin to film the NO music video as Jen's efforts are better than she expected for her part.
Words: 9,000+
----
Living in a dorm with all the guys was something Jennie had never experienced. She didn't know what to expect and admitted she was nervous about the whole situation. But over the next few days, she began to open up more and realized, they were all a goofy bunch.
Brothers.
Brothers that she always wanted.
During the next few weeks, Tae and Jen stayed away from the cameras while the rest of BTS filmed their Vlogs for their YouTube channel. Big Hit wanted them to be their secret members and be revealed once they shot their music videos.
Before she knew it, it was time to film the No More Dream music video. For the music video, she wore black high-waisted pants and a Hood By Air crop top with a fishnet shirt under it. Her hair was put down instead of a ponytail. As she gets her face done by the makeup staff, a camera is in front of her for a Bangtan Bomb. She ends up waving at the camera with a smile.
'Miss Bangtan seems to be in good spirits' The caption said on the video.
After she was done getting her makeup done, she made her way over to where the shooting was starting.
"Jennie! Come over here, we're about to do a cheer in front of the camera." Suga announced before Jimin and Jin pulled her to the group.
"So forward!" She laughed.
They all put their hands on top of each other.
"3,2,1."
"FIGHTING!"
For the first part of the shooting, it went very well. They were all fluid with their dance moves and cues. Jennie had a blast and tried to keep a serious facial expression while filming. But she ended up goofing around with the rest of the guys, even attempting to dance battle with Jin and J-Hope.
"Individual shooting is up next." The director reminded them as they all get straightened up.
Afterward, Suga is first for his shooting as he sits on a bike, rapping his verse. On the side, Jennie chews on her bottom lip, watching Suga's shooting. She turns to the camera who is right next to her, filming her expressions.
"A bit antsy." She laughed quietly. "He's really good. I love his rapping."
Moments later, a deep voice asked if she was nervous from behind. She turns to meet the sunglassed eyes of Namjoon and Jin. She smiles nervously in response as the makeup artist finishes her makeup and walks away.
"Yes. I want to do well y'know?" she answered
"Don't worry, you'll deliver. Teamwork makes the dream work." Namjoon placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"Jennie. You're up." The Director called her as her stomach dropped.
"Oh boy. Wish me luck." She murmured and headed over to the filming location.
"She worries too much." Jin laughed
"She really does. But she'll do fine." Namjoon replied
Jennie makes her way to the director as she bows. "First let's have you against the wall." The director guided her. "And...action!"
On cue, her demeanor changes as she gazes at the camera with attitude, rocking side to side.

"Cut! Let's try it again."
Jennie nodded and exhaled. Was she doing something wrong? She wanted to ask him but she didn't want him to get annoyed. If he got annoyed.
The camera turns to Rapmon who watches closely. "She's still timid, it's clear that she's nervous. I'm positive we can work on that. I'm looking forward to seeing her grow in BTS." He noted. "I believe she'll be a great Bangtan Girl."
"And...action!"
Jennie attempts to go for a more aggressive route while adding in a bit more Bangtan Girl charm while ruffling her hair on camera and using her arms.
"La la la la la."
"Ni ggumi mwoni ni ggumi mwoni mwoni."
She makes finger guns, shooting them at the camera.
"Good!" The director said as she let out a breath of relief and bows. BTS claps for her and cheers.
"She did well." Rapmon smiled and nodded in approval.
"Go Jennie!" V yelled and she high fived him as the camera caught them. "She did so well! I'm so proud of her." He hugged her and laughed.
"That was really fun!" She said in front of the camera before heading over to the school bus for another shooting. "I will continue to try my best."
After many more hours of shooting, the music video shoot was a success.
---
The next day was the Jacket Shooting. BTS and Jen get ready. Jen wore leather jeans with a hood by air shirt that was long sleeved and a black beanie over her curly hair.
"Photoshoot, woo hoo!" She cheered with Suga and Jimin who excitedly danced, very eager to shoot. She goes over to get a closer look at Jin who was taking photos for his shoot.
"How'd your shooting go?" She asked RapMon who was with Jungkook.
"Ah, it went well. You looking forward to yours?" He asked.
"You know she is. She's been bouncing around and dancing all over the place." Jungkook pointed out, grinning widely.
"Um! You have too! I saw what you did to V! Don't put this all on me. You were goofing off too. Didn't you see him mess with V while he was napping?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Hyung, she's lying." Jungkook does his best to look innocent.
"Are you-are you kidding? I hope you're not believing him over me!" She looked baffled, turning to Rapmon.
"I dunno Jennie...I didn't see Jungkook goofing off at all. Only you." Rapmon crossed his arms, teasing her.
"Are you cereal!?" She exclaimed, throwing her arms up in the air.
"Are you cereal?!" Jungkook mocked her in a high-pitched voice before laughing with Rapmon.
"I can't stand you guys." She laughed with them and attempted to shove Jungkook lightly but he didn't budge.
"I will try my best for the photo shoot. I hope my facial expressions won't be too much." She explained to the camera.
"What do you mean?" Jungkook inquired.
"I, unfortunately, have a resting bitch face. So, people always think I'm mad when my face is relaxed. But for music videos like this where we gotta show swag and stuff like that. And you know..." She adjusted her shirt, brushed off her shoulder, and tried to look cool while the duo watched her. "It kind of works out."
'Rap Monster and Jungkook are not impressed.' The caption on the video says as she turns to them.
"What? Really? Wow. I see how it is." She turned to the camera. "I swear I'm a nice person. Don't judge the face. I'm not angry or mean! Promise!" She reassured
She hears her name getting called. "Fighting!" She shows two thumbs up at the camera before skipping away.
Jungkook ended up laughing at her cute antics while Rapmon face palmed.
"What are we gonna do with her?" Rapmon shook his head and sighed.
After taking photos, Jennie was cleared and went to check them out as the camera was behind her.
"Ooh~ Nice! I look good, wow!" She turned to the camera and nodded in approval. "I can't believe I look like that. You ever feel like if you're making an expression, it feels weird and you think it looks weird? But when you take a picture with the expression, it looks cool? That's how I feel right now. I'm glad it was successful." She addressed with cheerfulness.
After the rest of the guys finish their shooting, they gather together for the group shooting while Jennie sits in the middle. Then they change as Suga, Jennie and Jungkook check out the group photos.
"What do you think?" Jennie asked.
"I think that, overall, all of them are good." Suga responded as she nodded in agreement. He puts an arm around Jungkook. "Of course, I like Suga-ssi's photos the best." He bragged with a gummy smile on his face.
Jungkook and Jennie glance at each other before turning to Suga.
"Really?" She let out of short laugh.
"What is this?" Jungkook laughed and turned to the camera. "Naturally Jungkook's turned out the best right?"
"Ha ha, no. My photos turned out the best." She grinned as he deadpans.
"Here, look at this person." He pointed to himself in the photo.
"And look at me." She pointed to herself in the picture.
"I had more swag." He narrowed his eyes at her, getting competitive.
"No, you didn't." She narrowed her eyes back
"Yes, I did."
"My facial expression was cooler than yours." She smirked.
Jungkook laughed sarcastically. "Ha! Ha! Ha! Lies!"
'Both Maknaes continue to bicker at each other.' Was the caption on the video while Jimin walked over to them.
"I don't know who he is but uwahh~ he's good looking." Jimin pointed to himself.
"I'll admit, he is pretty good looking." Jennie complimented
"I said the same thing too," Jungkook added, earning a laugh from Jimin.
---
It was finally June 13th, 2013. Today was the day that BTS would debut. Jennie wasn't nervous yet as she tried to remain calm. She gathered around in a circle with the group while Rapmon went over what would be happening that day.
He is such a great leader. He cares and always looks out for everyone. She hopes to do well and make herself, her family, Big Hit and BTS proud of her efforts. While in the waiting room, Rapmon tries to practice, rapping in a deep voice and starts clearing his throat. J-Hope copies him after watching, earning a laugh from Jennie. Then Jungkook adds to the fun by copying him too.
"I hate him." Rapmon pointed to Jungkook. "Try to do it properly."
"Oh boy. He caught you now." Jen chimed in, amused at his antics.
Jungkook tries it again but Rapmon says it's not similar and walks away.
After their shenanigans, they leave to go to a rehearsal and pre-recording as the nerves start to get to Jennie. They currently wore their shirts with their names on them. Jen grips the mic in her hand nervously as she waits for the cue.
"You look so nervous." Jimin chuckled lightly and held her shaking hands, to calm her down.
"I didn't mean to make it so obvious."
"You've performed in front of a crowd before. Much more than this in America."
"I know, I know..."
"Then what's getting you so shaken up?"
"I guess it's because I've never done anything like this. Here. In South Korea. I'm a foreigner. I just have questions in the back of my mind like, what will they think of me? Do they like how I'm speaking in Korean and pronouncing the words? Stuff like that."
"Hey, we all made it this far. We are all going to do well. Breathe in and breathe out. We got this. Don't worry too much. I'm sure they'll love you."
"Just like they'll love your abs, right?" She laughed with him.
"You dare bring my abs into this?" He playfully scolded before they headed to the stage.
The crowd cheers loudly as they are on stage in their beginning pose for No More Dream. As soon as she hears Rapmon's deep voice, the nervousness goes away and is replaced with seriousness.

To all the youngsters without dreams.
The crowd cheers for them and they all head backstage. She walks behind Suga who said on camera that it's so hot, thanks to the leather.
"I almost gave myself whiplash. My head hurts." She walked past the camera.
Jin started crying because he was nervous and disappointed. The staff tries to help him by giving him tissue and fanning him. Everyone got changed for Bulletproof. After Jen is done, she goes near the stage to wait and sees Jin waiting as well.
"Y'know I cried too."
Her soft voice makes him turn to face her. "Really?"
"I cried when I first debuted with my former group in America. I was so scared...I messed up. Missed my cue. Everything. It was horrible." She groans, shaking her head at the unpleasant memory. "They gave me the 'She's just a kid' card, but still, I was the youngest and wanted to prove myself. That just because I was young, didn't mean I couldn't do this or that. I just learned from my mistakes and tried harder. I tried not to think about it too much. My emotions just got me during the debut."
Jin nodded. "You know one day we should look at your debut from America." He smiled as her eyes widened.
"Oh no. No no. I don't wanna look back at how cringe I was. Ugh. At least that got your mind off things." She smiled back at him.
"Thank you. That helped."
"Don't worry about it. Everything is going to be okay. Now let's do a good job with this performance." She beamed as the rest of BTS met up with them.
They manage to have a successful performance during the broadcasting without any big mistakes and go backstage with happy vibes.
-----
Next Day they are at Music Bank and have a dry rehearsal before the show. And then head over to the prerecording. After the performance, they greet the director and fans. "Bangtan! Thank you! We will work hard!" Before bowing.
They head backstage. "We finished on the first try." Rapmon grins at the camera.
"That was scary," Suga commented before walking past the camera.
"So-so. So-so." Jungkook admited.
"I could've done better, so I'm giving myself a 65%. I hope to boost up that grade with the next performance." Jennie stayed positive and walked ahead.
Then it was time for their performance for their second debut performance.

Hearing the crowd scream and cheer for them made Jennie's heart flip as she waved and grinned at everyone before bowing. Things were going well for their debut.
-----
Backstage for another performance, Jin decided to become today's VJ and went around to visit the members of BTS, interviewing them before the live broadcast. Jennie just finished getting her makeup done and sat on the couch with Jimin, fanning herself. The heat was real backstage.
"Jennie~" Jin placed the camera on her before Jimin pushed the camera back to himself.
"Where are you going, we're having an interview. I'm in the middle of thinking..." Jimin laughed.
"You took too long, now I want to go to Jennie."
"But I wasn't done yet!"
"Jennie's cooler than you. So, I want to interview her." Jin sassed.
Jen laughed at their banter and looked at the camera when Jin placed it back on her. "Hi!" She waved.
"How are you, Jennie?" He asked in a casual tone.
"It's hot." She lets out a breath and continued to fan herself.
"It is. It really is. So, I heard you've been getting more fans recently. Specifically, male fans. What do you think?"
"Hehe, I'm flattered they're falling in love with my charm." She smiled.
"You look pretty today."
"Oh...so I don't look pretty every day?" She deadpanned.
Jin was taken aback at her sudden mood change as he started to stutter "U-uh-I-"
"Are you calling me ugly?" She gasped and placed a hand on her heart.
"I think he is. That was rude, Jin! My Jennie is beautiful!" Jimin played along.
"Whoa, whoa! Your Jennie?! She's my Jennie!" V said from across the room. "I knew her first!"
"So? She likes me more!" Jimin responded.
"Oh dear...I didn't realize I was a popular person." She raises her eyebrows at the camera while the two continue to bicker at each other.
"Jennie, are you still mad?" Jin questioned as she looked up at him.
"As a matter of fact, I am." She crossed her arms.
"Come on~ I didn't mean it!" He whined.
She giggled at his whining."Ah, I'm joking."
Jin frowned and pouted behind the camera. "You're mean!"
"It was a joke!" She exclaimed.
"Don't talk to me, anymore."
"Jin are you cereal, right now?" She looked at him in disbelief.
"You know what? You're pretty but you're not as pretty as me." He said with a mocking smile.
"Oh!" Jimin yelled, shocked at the sass.
The unexpected sass made her mouth fall open and her eyes widened, stunned at what he said.
"You really gonna do a sister like that? I thought what we had was special! Oh, you think it's funny, huh?" She asked over Jin's goofy Ha-has. "You know what? I'm done! Leave!" She struggled to keep a straight face as she pointed to the door, making Jimin laugh out loud.
"Note to self, don't interview Jennie." Jin goes to Rap Monster.
Later, Jen approaches Jimin who was holding onto a lion doll, as a camera was on him for a Bangtan Bomb. He was trying to defend himself for not being childish, claiming the lion was just sitting where he was.
"Aw, that's so cute! Can I see it?" She happily held on to it and examined it. "This is so adorable, it's been a while since I've seen a stuffed animal. Look how nice and fluffy this thing is."
"It looks like V, doesn't it?" Jimin mentioned.
After looking at the lion and its fur, she nodded in agreement. "Dude, it does!" She said in amazement while V walked over.
Jimin takes the doll and presents it to V. Suddenly, he starts attacking Jimin with it as Jennie laughs. Afterward, Jimin tries to style the lion like V.
"Am I a kind lion?" V asked.
"What kind of lion, just a normal big lion." Jimin replied before giving it to V "There."
"What about the makeup?"
"Makeup??" Jimin let out a chuckle before he started putting powder on the lion. After he was done, he gave it to V.
V suddenly puts the lion in front of Jennie and makes it wave to her. "Hi! My name is V! What's your name?" He asked in a cute voice.
The sudden cuteness overload was too much for her to handle as she covered her face, feeling her face heat up.
"Don't shy away!" He placed the lion on top of her head and made it dance on her head. "Rawr!" He made the lion playfully hit her and she started to laugh.
----
On the 23rd of July, before their performance, the group stood on stage with an MC for Simply K-Pop TV. From the loud cheers to the fans waving their fan signs with the members' names on them, Jennie was excited. She did a double take when she noticed her name on several fan signs. She had to blink quickly to avoid tears coming from her eyes as joy took over.
Nonetheless, she smiled and waved at the crowd as the MC announced BTS in English.
"So how long has it been since you debuted?" The MC asked.
"It's been about a month," Suga answered in Korean.
"One month? Wow. Well, your popularity is going through the roof, nowadays. How does it feel?"
Jennie raised her mic to speak. "I think it's awesome!" She answered in English. "Seeing our names on the signs right now that our fans created, it's astonishing. I was trying not to tear up when I saw my name on some of the signs. We're grateful for the support."
"Yeah, we're either at the studio, at home or at broadcasting stations, so we haven't experienced much of it. But as Jennie said, we're always grateful for fans who come to support us." Jin added
"Yes with all the love and attention you're getting, I'm sure your fans have a lot of questions. That's why we have a Q&A ready for you guys. Who has the first question?" The MC goes to a fan.
"Hello. How long was your training before you debuted? And did you expect this kind of popularity?" A fan named Nima from the UK asked, in her British accent.
"The training period, the longest for me is like three years, Jimin had one year. The shortest was Jennie's. She trained for almost six months. The average is around 2 years or 2.5 years." Rap Monster answered in English.
"Oh yeah, the training for me was a bit hectic. Although I had the shortest amount of training, I had to really work hard and push myself. As well as adjust to the Korean culture. I had a tough time using chopsticks for a while. I should've learned before I came here." She giggled in embarrassment as the crowd laughed with her.
"She's using them properly now!" Rap Monster added with a smile, earning applause.
Jen shot a thumbs up. "I had a lot of support from everyone as they guided me. I spent more hours training as well and made sure to catch up on anything. Also, to rest. I haven't overworked myself, Mom, I know you're watching." She waved to the camera.
Rap Monster nodded. "For our debut, we don't really realize any popularity now but thanks, we are so thankful for all the love and our fans. So thank you very much."
"Wow, your English is very good." The MC praised Rap Monster. "Next question."
The next question was from a girl named Imani from America. "This question is for Jennie. First off, I just want to say, I LOVE you. I think it's so cool that you're the only girl in BTS and everything."
"Awe, thank you." She felt her face beginning to heat up before blowing her a kiss.
"Your Korean is so impressive at your young age. How long have you been studying and are you fluent?"
"I'll answer in Korean then English." She said before turning to Korean. "K-Pop inspired me to learn Korean. I've listened to 2NE1, Wonder Girls and Big Bang. Their music inspired me to want to get into this industry. The music, the dancing, everything is so lit over here in South Korea. I love it! I love how passionate everyone is here. As for the language, I've been studying since I was 13. Man, it was hard. I mean, I tried to study a few hours a day. And now I'm 15 in America, and I guess I'm...17 in Korea right?" She turned to her groupmates who nodded and smiled in response.
"Same age as Jungkook." J-Hope commented.
She continued in English, "So that's pretty interesting as well. I think my hard work is paying off. No language barriers or anything. I'm happy I can communicate with everyone here. I'm not fluent yet. But I know more than just the basics and I will continue learning."
A girl named Moon So-hyun from Korea asked, "There's a variety of genres on your album. Besides the title track, which is your favorite song?"
"Like it is an awesome song on our album." J-Hope smiled. "It has witty lyrics about love. It's really great."
"Can we hear a little bit of the song?" The MC asked, earning screams and cheers from the crowd.
"Neon nami doego ohiryeo deo joha boyeo pretty woman." Jungkook angelically sang with a smile, earning cheers afterward.
"Woo! All right thank you BTS for your time."
-----
After arriving back at the dorm, everyone relaxes as Jin starts to prepare dinner in the kitchen. Everyone was doing their own thing while Jennie chilled on the couch in the living room, playing random games on her phone that Jungkook got her into. She couldn't help but notice her throat getting scratchy all day as she kept coughing every few minutes. The teen didn't think much of it as she assumed the cough would go away in the morning and her throat was just dry. Little did she know, Jin had observed her all day whenever she coughed.
Finally, after 15 minutes went by, he had to see what was wrong.
"Are you okay, Jennie?" He left the kitchen to see her.
The sound of his voice made her look up at him as she cleared her throat. "Eh, I think I might be getting sick or something. My throat is a bit scratchy. But I'll be fine."
"Nothing that I can't fix. I'll make some tea."
Smiling politely, she declined. "It's fine. Thank you an-"
*Cough* *Cough*
She sighed in annoyance. The cough just wouldn't go away. Why did she have to start coughing now? Right when they were promoting?
"We have some cough medicine." Jin happily announced.
The sound of medicine made her widen her eyes. She wasn't into taking medicine, she couldn't stand the taste.
"What? I don't wanna take medicine, it's gross!" She shook her head frequently, trying to talk him out of it.
"Come on, it'll make you feel better, so you won't feel lousy while we're promoting."
"I think maybe I just need to drink some water." She grabbed a water bottle from the kitchen and drank a few sips on the couch. "There. No more coughing." She guaranteed and went about her business.
Jin crossed his arms and murmured a countdown in a low voice "...four...three...two...one."
*Cough* *Cough*
"No more coughing, huh?" He grabbed a bottle of liquid cough medicine out of the cabinet and poured the medicine into the small plastic cup for her. Sitting down next to her on the couch, he smiled warmly. "Come on. And we have a mask for you to wear too, when we go out."
"You're so persistent. Jin, I'm fine. Guys, tell him that I'm fine." She pleaded to Jimin and Namjoon who were also in the living room.
"I think you should take the medicine, Jen." Jimin responded as Namjoon nodded in agreement, his face glued to his phone.
"You heard the gentlemen. Come on. One big gulp and it'll be all over." Jin advised in a motherly tone and tried to hand the medicine to her but she stubbornly scoots away, shaking her head.
"Uh uh! Jin, I am not taking any of that. No meds, I'll be fine!" She exclaimed.
Why was he so persistent in making her take medicine? It was just a little cough.
Why was he staring at her like that?
He looked so worried.
Why is he so worried?
Jin frowned at her refusal. "Jennie you have to take the medicine. It'll help you. I don't want your upcoming sickness to get worse. If you fight it now, you'll knock it out before it even starts."
"I don't wanna!" She huffed and crossed her arms, looking away.
Namjoon snickered at her response while Jimin eagerly watched the two bicker, enjoying the show.
Jin blinked at her and paused. Slowly, he set the medicine down on the table.
No one sasses Jin.
No one.
"That's it. Hold her down." He told Namjoon and Jimin as they got up from their seats.
"Wh-wait a sec-HEY!" She shrieked as she felt strong hands grabbing both of her arms, dragging her off the couch and onto the floor. "WAIT! WAIT!" She started kicking and yelling, attempting to fight off their strong grips as they continued to latch on to her. Before she knew it, they pinned her arms to the floor.
"Get off of me!" She grunted and tried to kick all over the place.
"I am a good person!"
"I have rights!"
"I don't deserve this!"
All her pleas were ignored and laughed at as Jimin and Namjoon continued to restrain her.
"Yah! Jennie just take the medicine!" Jimin giggled as he tried to keep a strong grip.
"Never!" She yelled. "I recycle damn it!"
Jen could hear the loud laughter coming from Tae, Suga, J-Hope and Jungkook in the background while struggling to escape her fate.
"Ennie is not backing down." Tae giggled.
"Hobi I need help here!" Jin cried as Hobi quickly grabbed onto her kicking legs.
She manages to kick him on the side of his head, pushing him away, earning louder laughs from everyone.
"Ow!" He laughed, rubbing the side of his head. "That was mean!"
"I'm sorry! I meant to kick at your chest!" She exclaimed while trying to toss and turn away.
"I got her!" Namjoon sat behind her, holding her arms from behind with Jimin.
Jin gets off the couch and sits on his knees with the medicine cap in his hands. There was no way in the world he was going to let her get sick if there was a way he could help her get rid of it quickly.
"Open your mouth." Jin demanded.
"No!" Jennie opposed.
"Jennie, open-your-mouth."
"I don't wanna! I'll drink orange juice!"
"You'll drink orange juice after taking the medicine!"
"No!"
"Someone tickle her!" Jin urged as Jungkook and Tae began to attack her with tickles on her stomach. She started laughing out loud, squirming all over the place.
Seeing an opening, Jin lifts her chin and pours the medicine down her throat.
Thus, she quickly swallows the bitterness and gags. "Ugh! Gross!"
Jin grinned in victory. "That wasn't so bad."
"I can't stand you guys." She grumbled with a sigh of irritation, earning smiles from all of them.
"We love you, too!" Taehyung said with a boxy smile.
"We're done, right? Can you all let go of me?" She asked
"We're not done yet. You need to eat soup. Continue holding her until I heat the chicken noodle soup." Jin went to the kitchen to prepare.
"Awe come on!" She whined.
After a couple of minutes, Jin comes back with a bowl of soup and kneels before her. He picks up a spoonful and blows on it a couple of times.
"Jin, I'm not hungry!" She groaned.
"We don't want our Jennie to continue being sick, so we're going to take care of you. Now come on, eat up." He responded while the rest of the guys nodded in agreement, gathering around her.
Jennie looked at each one of them. She was touched by how worried they were and how eager they looked to help her feel better. She let out a breath as her mouth curved into a smile.
"Okay..." She said as they cheered. "Can I eat crackers with the soup?"
Jungkook stood up and bowed. "Your wish is my command, Milady."
She giggled softly at his dorkiness. Jungkook grabs a box of crackers from the kitchen and tosses them to Tae who presents them to her dramatically. "Ta-da!"
She gets let go as Jin feeds her a spoonful of soup. "I can eat myself you know."
Jin placed a hand on her forehead. "You don't have a fever thankfully. Now eat up. Eat everything. And make sure to drink the broth. That'll help too."
"Thanks, mom." she teased him.
Jin smiled at the nickname and patted her head. "You're welcome, sweetheart."
After she finished eating, they led her to her bedroom.
"Thanks guys." She sighed in contentment, laying comfortably on her bed while J-Hope placed a blanket on her.
"Rest up. You should feel better tomorrow in no time." Jin mentioned, looking relieved that she took the medicine and ate soup to help.
"Do you need anything else?" Jimin questioned.
"Want me to read you a bedtime story?" Namjoon offered.
"I could sing you to sleep!" Jungkook added.
"I could rap you to sleep." Suga shrugged.
"NO!" The boys exclaimed to Suga, earning an annoyed look from him.
The Daegu rapper scoffed at the guys, "Well, screw you guys..."
"I'll listen to you rap another time, Suga." Jennie answered.
"Rapping will never make her go to sleep." Jin sighed
"You don't know that." Suga argued.
"Guys, I appreciate it but I'm fine. I'm just going to sleep. I'll take up your offers another time."
She snuggled under the covers, already feeling sleep taking over her. She heard whispers of them saying good night as her light was turned off before they left the room.

On July 27th, on Show Champion backstage, BTS and Jen assemble for their dance diet method. The eight of them stand before the camera, already in their outfits for their upcoming performance.
"Summer Special episode Show Champion's diet dance. First, basic moves for warm up." Suga addressed the camera.
'Stretch your arms and shoulders'
All of them stretch obnoxiously while Jennie deadpans, watching them instead of stretching. Moments later, she attempts not to laugh at them.
"Second, learn choreography for dieting." Suga continued.
"Who's teaching?" Rap Monster asked
"I'll be teaching." Jungkook demonstrated as he grabbed onto his pants. "Grab your pants and ride the rhythm."
"Five, six, seven, eight!" J-Hope announced as all of them but Jennie began stomping around obnoxiously. "This will consume many calories."
"Ah~ the diet's working." Jimin added.
Jennie facepalmed at the sight. "I don't know them!" She called out, making everyone laugh.
"Come on Jennie, do it! It's healthy!" J-Hope grabbed onto her.
"Do it, Jennie! It's fun!" Jin encouraged.
"Jennie! Jennie! Jennie!" The guys chant
"Okay! Okay!" She sighed in defeat, earning loud whoops and cheers.
They put some music on as they all begin stretching first. The Bangtan Girl starts to get into it, stretching goofily. Subsequently, she grabs onto her pants and starts stomping around.
"Look at her go!" Rapmon said with a laugh.
"Go Jennie! Go Jennie!" Jin cheered as she started to laugh with them.
"Okay, this is pretty fun!" She beamed.
"That's the spirit!" Jimin cheered.
Afterwards, they all start rocking their elbows, while turning around in a circle. Jennie couldn't help but feel free and in good spirits when she was around the guys. They were weird, and so was she.
----
It was July 31st and Jin decided to be the VJ again for another quick Bangtan Bomb. He goes to Suga, V and then J-Hope, before approaching Jennie who was getting her makeup done.
"Jen~" Jin happily greeted, placing the camera in front of her.
"Hey!" She greeted in English with a bright smile, waving to the camera.
"How are you, Jennie?"
"I'm-"
"WELL, we're out of time!" He yelled and moved the camera away.
"You know what-" She stood up and tried to hit him but he jumped away with a giggle, escaping her wrath. "Jerk!"

'August 18th, Music Kan Star Date'
For the interview, Jennie sits in between Suga and Jungkook while Jimin also sits in a chair next to Jungkook. Meanwhile, Jin, V, Rap Monster and J-Hope stand behind them.
"To all the viewers of KNT TV, 2, 3. Bang~tan! Hello we're BTS!" The group greeted and bowed.
'The hip hop idols who deliver a message to the youths who have no hope and are lost. Their protagonist is Bulletproof Girl and Boy Scouts, who on the stage show a very powerful and intense performance. A fun date with the energetic and dynamic Bulletproof Girl and Boy Scouts. Let's watch it immediately!'
'How did the group name come about?'
"Yes, 'Bangtan' has a definition of being bullet-proof. So, discriminations and judgments being shot like bullets, we're going to deflect them off like a bulletproof vest and stand up proudly for what we believe in." J-Hope answered as Jennie nodded at his answer. "Our team name upholds a meaning like that."
'Introduce your title track 'No More Dream'
"Our title track 'No More Dream' is a hip hop song that followed after a form of gangster hip hop bass genre that was famous in its existence in the 1990s. You might know it when you listen to the song. There's a part where we question 'Hey you what's your dream'. Right now there are a lot of teens who just live their life each day, going to school and coming back, with little purpose and dreams." Rap Monster mentioned. "So this is where we ask these teens, 'Hey what's your dream?' 'Quickly find your dream', it's a song that speaks of such meaning."
Suddenly Jimin stands up to demonstrate the dance.
"Five, six, seven, eight. La, La, La, La~ La~" Jennie and the rest of BTS sing while Jimin does his dance, lifting his shirt.
"Oh my gosh..." She giggled at the sight.
'Thoughts on debuting?'
"Well, firstly we are definitely majorly happy. It has been half-anticipation and half-nerve wrecking. But with all of that aside, getting to release my dream in three years of preparation, really I'm so so glad." Rap Monster grinned
"I second that!" Jennie raised her hand. "To be honest, I wasn't expecting this at all, being here in this moment. All that hard work is paying off. Dreams can really come true when you set your mind to it and work for it. I believe we did really well on our debut. We're doing well."
'Thoughts on your explosion of popularity?'
"Because there's people who like us, and are our fans, I'm really happy. And also at broadcasting stations where they follow and sing our songs together with us, the energetic cheering and support. To receive all that, up till now it still is so weird and much fascinating." J-Hope replied.
"Yeah, I also think it's really humbling. I'm still in shock with the support we've been receiving from our fans. It's amazing." Jennie beamed.
"Also whenever we end a performance and as soon as we leave the stage, we check the real-time searches to release that BTS has gone up the search rankings. It was too fascinating to see that so I screen captured it right away." Jimin grinned. "To go back to seeing it again, it makes me really happy."
'How does it feel being the only girl in BTS?'
Jennie was pondering while the question was asked and then she saw all eyes on her. She turned and looked around.
"What?" She stuttered and felt her face heat up as everyone laughed. "Oh wait what was the question? I'm sorry!" She bowed
"Miss Bangtan~" J-Hope cheered with the rest of the boys
She laughed and then answered, "Well it's really interesting to be around these cool guys and working with them on dancing and music and living with them. They're amazing to be around, I love them."
"Aw~" BTS replied with big smiles on their faces. "We love you too."
"I hope to improve while being a member of BTS and I also wanna show the female empowerment in youth as well. And I hope to show that in our music and future songs. I most definitely want to sing lyrics about female empowerment and just female confidence in general."
'Show us your charms!'
"Yes, I'll have a go at it, please hold my mic." Jimin gave the mic to Jungkook before gazing at the camera. "Please love BTS a lot!" He put up two finger hearts and made a quick heart with his hands before pointing at the camera.
Jennie looked at him like he was crazy, widening her eyes. "Oh boy...." She murmured, placing a hand on her forehead while the rest of BTS groaned and looked away.
"Ah, what do we do about this?" Jin asked
"Thanks to Jimin I think I might freeze to death." J-Hope said
"I'm sorry that was embarrassing." Jimin grinned sheepishly. "Ah not me but our V, his gaze is not to be reckoned with too. Let's have you throw a gaze for once."
V looked at the camera. "It'll be cooler with a close up shot. I'll go for it." He gazed at the camera. "I love you~"
"Oh my God!" the guys exclaimed and start freaking out while Jennie buried her face in her hands.
'The members who got embarrassed because of V!?'
Rap Monster was the next charmer as J-Hope began to beatbox. "Yo. What's up? Kan TV, Yeah. Bangtan sonyeondan. Yo, yeah. Uh, Rap Monster together with my sexy voice. A single time of my rap has the girls talking. I'm a smart guy who knows how to study 1 percentile of the country, IQ 148, I'm a guy who does what needs to be done." He rapped as Jennie moved her head, rocking to the beat and his rap. "And right now where I'm at, it's with Bangtan. Wherever we go we hear gratitude. People see us and go shit! What the~"
"Woo~" BTS clapped and cheered for him.
"That was fire!" Jennie cheered
'As expected from the main rapper Rap Monster'
'What does hip hop mean to BTS?'
"It's a genre of music we really like and can do really well in. And hip hop has become the best way for me and for us to express ourselves. In the future too we'll express things in this manner." Rap Monster answers
'Your ultimate goal?'
"As musicians, inevitably our ultimate goal would be for us to make good music." Suga answered. "And for the public to acknowledge and enjoy our good music, wouldn't that be our ultimate goal? And to be honest, as singers to be able to make good music and share it with others. That would be the biggest form of happiness." He revealed his gummy smile.
'Future plan of activities?'
"Following our debut on the 10th of June, we have many promotional activities planned out. And we have a blog so we'll be updating regularly on our blog with unreleased songs as well. With such a drive, we'll be working hard." Rapmon grins. "To all the viewers of KNT TV, I don't know if you had fun watching us. As much as BTS has come out as a hip hop team, we'll become a team that loves hip hop and enjoys much through hip hop. Up till now it has been BTS! 2! 3!"
"Thank you!" BTS bowed
---
On August 31st, Jennie, BTS and the rest of the staff plan to surprise Jungkook for his upcoming birthday. Everyone but Jungkook, who was filming an individual lip sync, was in the Waiting Room to coordinate the surprise for his birthday party.
Jennie had to stop smiling so hard. She was so excited. It always brought joy to her heart to celebrate her friend's birthdays. She couldn't wait to see the look on his face when she and everyone else surprise him. Later on, everyone begins to film for the BTS concept trailer, the Director announces Jungkook to make sure he gets the center right as the group talks to the dance teacher and manager.
V and Jennie turn around as they grin big at each other. "I'm really trying to keep my emotions in check!" She whispered in excitement, earning a soft giggle from him.
After the filming, Jungkook gets lectured by Rap Monster and the manager about his dancing as he's oblivious to their acting. It was hard to see Jungkook get lectured like that, especially for ten minutes while everyone was trying to prepare for his surprise.
"You just have to do it well." Jin said as soon as the manager left the room. Jungkook was looking bummed after getting lectures. It made Jennie frown a bit.
"Jungkook, are you mad cause we didn't celebrate your birthday?" Rap Mon asks
"No, no..." Jungkook answered in a soft tone.
"You were in the wrong. You kept joking around as well." Suga lectured. "Since we were filming, you should've stopped. There must be a stop somewhere."
"As a leader...have I done anything to you?" Rap Monster asked him.
"No." The Golden Maknae answered
"You usually do well."
Afterwards, one by one, the members leave the room, while Suga holds the cake, ready to enter the room again to meet Jungkook while the lights are turned off.
"Happy birthday to you~ happy birthday to you!" Everyone sings as they walk up to a dumbfounded Jungkook as he looks around. Jennie and the rest of BTS clap and gather around him as Jungkook starts to cry.
"Our dearest Jeon Jungkook~ happy birthday to you~!" Everyone sings before Jungkook kneels down while everyone pats him on the back. "WOO~"
"Oh my God, he's crying!" Jennie exclaimed with a laugh with the rest of BTS.
"He's crying!? Why are you crying!?" Jungkook was asked as he finally stood up.
Teary eyed, Jungkook finally blows out the candles as everyone cheers. The manager finally came in to apologize and wish him a happy birthday.
"Thank you for being born!" J-Hope cheered, earning a couple of laughs
"Say some of your thoughts!" Rap Monster suggested to Jungkook as he adjusts his birthday hat
"Producer-nim you're mean..." He replied, earning more laughs from everyone.
Bangtan take a group birthday photo before teasing Jungkook some more on his big day.
"Ah acting...I thought it was for real!" Jungkook mentioned
"We fooled you good, didn't we?" Jennie nudged him earning a chuckle from him
After filming, the group headed back into the dorm. Jennie rummaged through her closet to pick up a wrapped up gift for Jungkook. She enjoyed giving people presents, and tried to be observant when it came to gift buying. Leaving her room, she knocked on Jungkook's door. She heard a 'Come in!' and opened the door.
"Hey, Jennie!" He happily grinned at her.
"Hey! Happy Birthday! Open up!" She sat on his bed and handed him the big rectangular gift. His eyes widen at the sight.
"This is for me?" He looked up to meet her eyes.
"Uh huh." She replied softly.
"Wow...Jennie, you're awesome."
"I hope you like it. Sorry, I didn't get a card."
"Just a gift in general from you is more than enough." He smiled softly before tearing the wrapping paper. "No way..."
She started to feel her face heat up, hoping that he liked his gift.
"I...remembered you telling me how much you like to draw...and I watched you draw backstage before a performance, so...I decided to buy you a nice, big sketchbook."
"Jennie..."
"I-is it too much? Is it too big? Too small?"
"No. It's perfect."
"Re-really?"
"Thank you so much." He placed the sketchbook down before scooting over to hug her. He was often shy around girls, but she was one of his great friends and their friendship was only growing every day. He looked forward to buying her a gift as well for her upcoming birthday.
Wrapping her arms around him to return the warm hug, she was overjoyed. "Don't mention it."
----
The next day, in the afternoon, Jennie had been craving her cute looking donuts that she purchased from a local Korean Dunkin' Donuts after taking a walk around a local park, in the nice summer breeze.
"Jennie! You're back! How was your walk?" Jungkook happily greeted as he played video games with Jimin in the living room.
"Hey, guys. It's so nice out there! The walk was great. Now on to the donuts!" She headed into the kitchen and went into the fridge. Weirdly, she couldn't find her Dunkin Donuts bag in the fridge.
Maybe she was overlooking.
She took her time, searching all over the fridge but failed to find her donuts. "Where are my donuts!?" She exclaimed in English.
"What?" Jimin looked confused.
"Where are my donuts!? I want my donuts!" She started to get annoyed. "I swear...if someone took my donuts..." She grumbles, ignoring the confused looks from Jimin and Jungkook who had no clue what she was saying in her native language. She lets out a breath before going back to Korean. "My donuts. Someone took them. I can't find them in the fridge."
Realization hit the two boys before they averted their eyes and went back to their game.
"I saw that look! What do you two know?" She asked as Namjoon walked into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water.
"Namjoon. Did you take my donuts?" Jennie questions him in English.
"They're safe." He replied to her.
"Oh? And where may they be? And why did you touch them?" She narrowed her eyes dangerously at him, but he remained unfazed. A grin came across his face as he let out a chuckle. "Nam...Joon. Where-are-my-donuts?"
"Safe."
"Bish where?"
"In my stomach-"
"YOU SON OF A BISCUIT!" She yelled and started to grab him into a headlock as he let out a loud laugh. They stumble out of the kitchen and fall on the floor, wrestling each other as Jungkook and Jimin watch and cheer.
The loud noises caused Tae, Suga, J-Hope and Jin to come out of their rooms to see what was going on.
"NO FIGHTING!" Jin yelled as tried to break it up, while the rest laughed and cheered for either Jennie or Namjoon. "We are NOT doing this today!"
After a moment of wrestling, they were finally broken up as Jennie explained the situation to Jin. Thankfully things went in her favor when Jin ordered Namjoon to go to the store with her to get some donuts. A reluctant Namjoon went and paid for Jennie as she got all the Dunkin' Donuts she wanted, which was much more than what he had eaten and then they went to the supermarket.
"Do you even know what you're getting?" Namjoon asked as he pushed the cart behind her while they walked in different aisles before walking to where the drinks were.
"Nope!" She grinned, earning a groan from him.
Namjoon left the cart before grabbing two glass bottles. "Hey, wanna watch me juggle?"
"Have you juggled before?"
"Not really." He shrugged.
"I don't think that's a good idea." She warned.
"What's the worst that can happen?"
Jennie let out a sigh. She heard from J-Hope and Suga that he was destructive and broke things easily.
"Don't drop that." She turned around and pushed the cart forward. A few seconds later she hears a sharp curse muttered behind her and glass breaking. She cringed at the sound and slowly turned around to see the mess and him grinning sheepishly.
"Uh...It broke...heh, heh." He rubbed the back of his neck while getting flustered.
"For crying out loud, Namjoon..."
No more shopping with Namjoon was the thought in her head. She only wondered what other stuff he plans to break while she continues to be a member of BTS.
-----
For the BTS NO music video filming, Jennie wore white skinny jeans, a white shirt that was shorter in the front and longer in the back that stopped just under her behind and wore a couple of gold rings and chains on her neck.
"What does Jennie expect for today's filming?" A camera man asked for a Bangtan Bomb.
"I'm not a part of the opening scene while they're all sitting at the desks. I'm legit being taken away by the guards as I try to snap everyone out of it so we can fight together. Aye~ I'm going to be a pretty cool damsel. So right now I'm just waiting for them to finish the scene, and then I can get started."
After waiting, Jennie goes to her filming position. It looked like a Hallway and she was informed that she would have to attempt to run away from the two guards before getting pulled back.
"And...ACTION!" The director yelled.
Jennie hastily starts to run as fast as she can with the guards right on her tail. She feels two pairs of strong hands gripping her brown arms tightly as she lets out a loud grunt. She then gets roughly pulled back. Subsequently, she tries to squirm away and break free as they start to pull her back.
"CUT!" The director said as she got released.
She bowed and smiled at the guards, shooting them a thumbs up.
"We didn't hurt you, did we?" One of the guys acting as a guard asked her.
"Nah, you're fine. Don't worry about it." She reassured them before some of the staff patted her face and neck with a towel to dispose of any sweat and to fix her hair.
"Haha, this is weird." She grinned at the camera.
"Jennie is doing well." The camera goes to Rap Monster who watches her filming closely. From her intense facial expressions, to swiftly evading the guards before roughly getting held back, he was impressed with her acting.
"Good!" The director announced as everyone clapped at her efforts.
"Jennie did a great job, today. Good acting." Jin happily said.
After a couple more takes of her evading the guards, she's moved into the set where there's a cell.
"And...ACTION!" The director yelled.
She puts her hands behind her back as she gets escorted by the guards, meanwhile, she looks directly into the camera, waiting for her cue for her lyrics.
"They're always so ruthless. What they want from me is viewless. They must think I'm a nuisance...I won't let them control me..." She lipsynced her lyrics.
"Cut!" The director said and she was escorted into the cell.
They shut her in, and she places her hands on the bars while looking directly into the camera yet again. The butterflies that were in her stomach was long gone, as she started to get into the acting.
"Hahaha, Jennie is in jail~" Jimin giggled at the sight.
"HA! HA! HA!" Jennie sarcastically laughed at him, earning a louder laugh from him.
"Action!"
"They held me down, tried to change my mind...You think I'm blind?" She lipsyncs as she slowly slides her hands down the bars. "Well, it's a little too late because I'm already on my grind...Why don't they leave us alone? Stop controlling our lives! Let us be who we want to be...And stop stressing our lives!"
She tries to shake the bars while looking around, before running her hands through her curly hair.
"Let it be known...We won't be discouraged...You lost this battle, so continue to baffle." She kicked the cell open, dropping one of the guards in the process, before taking down the other guard.
"Cut! Let's film the takedown again!"
"This is really awesome." She shot the Bangtan Bomb video camera rock on hand signs before getting back into the cell.
"ACTION!"
She roughly kicks the cell open as one of the guards gets struck on his back by the cell door and falls down. The other guard swiftly turns around and tries to grab her but she knees him in the stomach before kicking him in the face, dropping him.
"CUT! Good!"
"Awesome!" She jumped up and down, clapping. Afterward, she watched her performance on camera. "I look pretty good."
---
The next day after the MV filming, BTS and Jennie are in the same venue to have their photoshoot. Rapmon was first, then Jin and Suga.
"It's Jennie's turn! I believe she'll do really well." Jungkook mentioned with a grin on camera as she was called up for her shoot.
"I'm nervous~" She smiled nervously at the camera before getting adjusted. She decided to narrow her eyes into the camera for a more serious look as they began to snap the pictures. "Oh my God, this is so weird to do. Do I look weird?"
"You look beautiful." The cameraman commented
"Ah~ Thank you! Thank you! I'm so flattered." She giggled, feeling her face heat up.
After she pulls herself together, she continues the shooting. Some poses involved having her back to the camera and turning her head to the side, having her arms crossed in front of the camera, and then pulling her chain to the side of her neck.
'Jennie successfully pulls through in her shooting' The caption on the Bangtan Bomb said as she checked out her photos.
"Wow! That's me?! I look badass! Now if only I could look badass every day. I'm glad my efforts paid off." She shoots the camera a thumbs up.

funny story anon, when I was writing ga-ming's fake voicelines and needed to give him more characters to talk about, I was considering adding a hu tao voiceline, but decided against it because I didn't really see a reason for them to meet (besides via friends (new liyue 6ang addition?!?!?!)). lowkey I now feel validated bc they don't have any in-game voicelines abt each other, but this would be a very boring ask if it just stopped here lol.
there's something to be said about gaming and hu tao's family baggage vs their cheerful external demeanor vs both doing a job that isn't super well received (?) by people in liyue harbor. but hu tao leans into her eccentricities a lot more while gaming is on the 'likeable by everyone' grind LOL also the dad similarities might increase if we ever get 76th funeral parlor director lore: hu tao's parents have been conspicuously missing forever, where did genshin put them? an interesting possibility would be if the 76th somehow split off from the family trade and subsequently got wiped from the family tree bc of ideological diffs (like ht's beef with baizhu), which could increase gaming and hu tao's possible shared father(?) troubles. but besides that I feel like there's not too much similarity there. They're both enthusiastic outward facing individuals, but idk if they'd have an interesting dynamic if they met.*
Although, you know that voiceline where hu tao does a magic trick and makes a butterfly of fire? and also how she plays with those lion statues outside the ministry of civil affairs? those two things would be straight up gamings alley ngl like he'd be so down for that kind of whimsy and playfulness. also hu tao would be a good candidate for a 2nd lion dance partner. she'd be completely down for doing odd jobs and this is absolutely a fun odd job, at least until she gets tired of it or has to focus on official business lol. idt she's the type to work hard at it; she's just there to try it out because it looked cool but gaming appreciates the enthusiasm regardless. would request to be the lions head in order to lunge at people and also pick greens. also there's potential for a gaming yun jin xingqiu hu tao tea appreciation club
oh also i think smth underrated abt hu tao is how shes like cheery and eccentric but takes her job seriously and has unidentifiable but occasionally present baggage .... which i already mentioned before is similar to how 75% of gm's voicelines are cheery, and then the other 25% is emotional conflict. idk! maybe under the right conditions, they could open up to each other and sympathize
*addendum: imo, hu tao has mostly moved on from her grief over her grandfather's death, and she doesn't have any regrets about the state of their relationship when he passed away, since they were pretty close and never on bad terms. My personal hc is that she still has some things she wished she said, ie. sincere thoughts and feelings from the heart that she usually avoids talking about (she would say "nice speech, but that kind of killed the mood" if someone made one of those anime protag power of friendship monologues). in my head, her grandpa taught her everything about death and funeral customs, played with her/listened to her poetry, pretended to go along w her pranks, and was in general a very loving person, but I don't think hu tao ever explicitly told him "I love you" before he died. she canonically tried to find him right after he passed away but knew that he wouldn't be there. by now i think she's made peace with his death, but still has a certain wistfulness about things she didn't think of saying. and then on the flip side, if ga-ming could see his mom again, he'd probably spend a whole day talking to her i think. he's also not someone to get drunk on grief or regrets, but i don't think he's quite gotten over it completely, and his rocky relationship with his father (before lantern rite 2024) makes this more emotional idk. not sure where I'm going with this, but maybe hu tao would be able to talk him through a bit of this messiness and urge him to simply continue with his own life. or show him that his mother was not at the border, perhaps never lingered there, because she didnt think there was any unfinished business with him or his father that she needed to worry about. the annoying thing about death is that even if the dead person was free of regrets, those who are still living will still miss them. maybe both gaming and hu tao would be able to understand that and/or sympathize with it. or maybe they'd just be silly together who knows, up to you
edit: it'd also be so funny to have gaming call hu tao "boss hu" 胡老板~~~~~~~

I see so many people defending the lazy writing, and defending Naksu's arc by saying that she left being an assassin so she doesn't need to use her sword.
So I'm going to explain.
We're not sad that Naksu didn't get to use her sword (okay maybe a little sad). What we're sad about is we didn't see her using powers at all.
In season 1 Naksu was trapped in a powerless body as Mudeok. But she needed no saviour. She was no damsel in distress. She was fearless, shrewd and manipulative. She was cruel teacher who went so far as to manipulate the crown prince and all of Jeongjingak to make Jang Uk level up.
Many people are saying that she's like that because of the amnesia, so she's still bright and innocent. Jang Uk was bright and innocent in the first season, that doesn't mean he wasn't badass. I was really happy that they were giving us the grumpy- sunshine again, but in the other way. But people need to know that, for a girl to be a bright ray of sunshine, she doesn't need to be a damsel in distress.
And till 4 episodes it was really good. She had approached Jang Uk in order to get out of confinement. Saying that she was pregnant in front of the whole unanimous assembly was such a Naksu move. She dealt through inexplicable pain, because being free and with the man she loved was worth the pain. That was Naksu. Then it all went downhill.
Season 1 ep 19 ended with both of them losing their powers. But we were all so happy because they were happy and together and it tied the story up.
So Naksu now has great powers of a priestess, but she uses them only once to kill Jin Mu. And he's not even really dead. And Jang Uk kills Jin Mu in the end. Do you think that's fair. I wish Jang Uk kept Jin Mu alive after burning everything and Yeong sucked the life out of him with her new powers. Or better, Uk and Yeong burned down the whole thing together. That is what we're talking about. And people complaining that she doesn't want any fighting or violence anymore. Why is she off monster hunting with her husband then?
Let's talk about all the other problems.
In 30 episodes Dang gu got all but 2 fighting scenes.
They completely forgot that Jin Cho Yeon was also a priestess.
The crown prince had a lot of role to play, but they completely forgot that he also had magical powers.
NAKSU USING HER PRIESTESS POWERS!!
The only person who had any sort of proper fighting scenes was Jang Uk, and those were not enough. I love Jang Uk and Lee Jae Wook very much. He was the king's star. Everyone forgot that. He deserved more and better fighting scenes.
I'm not angry with Jang Uk's 8 episode long healing arc. Naksu's healing arc in season 1 was 18 episodes. I'm angry with them showing only push and pull romance and nothing else. 8 episode of only drama and romance in 10 episode fantasy show.
And then when Naksu remembers her memories. I knew she was going to pull back, and Jang Uk was going to chase, but that lasted all 2 min. They were together, then she remembered, she pulled back, he chased, then he recognised her. This all happened in just one episode. Something that could have and should have taken 3. They show an all powerful priestess and then give her 5 min screen time. Then they got married, were lovey-dovey, then somebody died, then they didn't die, then Jin Seolran came, fighting and burning, and guess what, again one episode. We were all waiting for this big epic battle which was well...
I feel like if they went the traditional route to make a 16 episode second season that would have done justice to the characters and the story.
See I'm happy that we had a happy ending. Very very very happy. But Alchemy of Souls was supposed to be an epic fantasy. And they spent a total of 10 min on the epic and fantasy part.
And to all who are defending the story. Do you think, if it was actually a satisfactory ending, you would need to defend it at all?

Jang Uk x Jin Buyeon/ Naksu imagine
A/N:
Spoilers ahead!!!
I uhhh don’t know what the hell I did here but I just finished watching episode 4 of season 2 and next thing I know, this came about. Really it’s just because I’m obsessed with this show, this couple, and the chemistry these two actors have together. So please enjoy! Much love!
———————————————————————
It was cold, Jang Uk realized, when a shiver swept through him. It’s not like it was something he wasn’t used to. Wraiths swarmed him far more often than not these days, so cold wasn’t something foreign to him. What was off was the empty space in his bed. Cracking one eye open, then another, he blinked against the sunlight until he was finally able to make sense of his surroundings. He reached across the space as if it were going to summon her. His wife. Jin Buyeon.
She must have left some time during the night, Jang Uk thought, No matter. He’ll go find her. She had to have been in her room. As he gathered himself to stand he found that he felt much more refreshed than previous nights. Odd. He hadn’t a decent night’s sleep in three years, but after visiting the cliff site where Mudeok had passed, he felt lighter. Guilt and sadness still lay heavy on his shoulders, no doubt, but the intensity had diminished.
With the bustling of servants milling about the house, Jang Uk was surprised to find himself smile just a little as he made his way to Buyeon’s room. She had stayed the night and comforted him. She had trusted him to keep her safe during the Queen’s banquet even after learning he’d only been nice so he could use her as bait for the soul shifter. She had been blindsided by his entire plan and still, Buyeon had played along as if she’d known the entire time. He had played her for a fool and gotten her hopes up and he winces at the memory of her smile when he’d called her pretty.
He stood hesitantly outside her room, wondering if maybe he should knock first or announce himself and then barge in. After all, she is his wife, and she’d certainly not been shy in her intentions with him. Just as his hand reached out, the door slid open, a stoic Jin Buyeon on the other side. He didn’t seem to notice as he allowed a grin to spread across his face at the mere sight of her.
“Good morning,” Jang Uk greets her. She only nods once without saying anything and he finds himself suddenly nervous. “Have you um, eaten yet? Maidservant Kim can have—.”
“Jang Uk,” Buyeon whispers his name and it makes him tense. “I…will be leaving for Jinyowon.”
His brows furrow and he wonders if maybe her mother sewed more of the tracking thread somewhere on her body and it was causing her pain again. It’s not possible though, because he destroyed that thread. Then again, Lady Jin always knew how to get what she wanted.
“Is your mother calling for you?” He asks with an exasperated scoff. “She really doesn’t give up. I’ll go speak with her and tell her that she can’t—.”
“I am choosing to go on my own.” She still doesn’t look at him. Rather, her eyes stay fixed on the wall behind his shoulder. Almost as if she didn’t want to see him at all.
“For how long? Maidservant Kim is preparing our wedding ceremony as we speak. I’m sure she’d love your help.”
Buyeon inhales sharply as tears sting her eyes but she refuses to show him. After he’d kissed her last night and then fallen back asleep, she couldn’t help but wonder if maybe he had imagined kissing his first wife. If he’d wished she had been Mudeok/ Naksu. If he’d simply tired of being lonely and used her once more as a distraction. Her heart beat wildly in her chest, almost painfully at the thought of never being who Jang Uk needed the most. “I’m not,” she hesitates and he steps forward, leaning in close to hear her better.
“Not what?” Jang Uk feels his chest seize in panic and he swallows roughly. Tired of being looked through rather than at, he gently presses his fingers underneath her chin to tip her head back. When she finally meets his eyes, his breath catches. She’s angry, he realizes, and upset, and looking at him like she’d rather be locked back up in that room in Jinyowon than be anywhere near him right now. “Buyeon.”
“I’m not coming back,” she clarifies with a solidity that makes Jang Uk step back as if he’d been slapped across the face. With the sudden loss of contact, she nearly falls forward but manages to catch her balance. She squares her shoulders and holds her head high. “I will go back to Jinyowon and live the life I was meant to. You…have finally found your peace, I presume, young master. We’ve caused so much trouble for selfish reasons, and we must restore order. We have to—.”
“What will you do then?” he snaps, interrupting her this time. His hands ball into fists and shake with anger. “Will you stay locked up in that room because your mother says so? Will you marry someone who will make you live a life in solitude and do nothing but bear his children?”
“My mother’s fear of losing me has already happened,” Buyeon reasons, “therefore I don’t believe that is the life she subject me to. She won’t take the chance of me running off once more. If she wishes to confine me in that room, she understands now how much I am willing to risk to be free.”
“Of course,” Jang Uk sneers and stalks forward, slamming the partition shut behind him as if it were going to keep the servants from hearing their fight. “And will you simply go on with a broken memory so long as you have your damn freedom? No divine powers, no memory, and only a shell of the priestess you’re meant to be. Is that the life you truly wish to have?! Then go! Be the heiress of the Jin family, but know this much, you will never really be free of your mother and that prison cell she calls your room.”
Buyeon rushes back as he takes heavy steps toward her until he finally crowds her against a pillar. “Jang Uk, you—.”
“You,” he seethes with heavy breaths, swiftly cradling her face and forcing her to look at him once more, “think I will stand idly by while your mother parades around Daeho like she’s succeeded in taking you from me?”
Her breath hitches. She’d known how fiercely protective Jang Uk was of his first wife, everyone told her as much, but for him to speak that way about her made her heart ache. He wants something from her, that much has been clear ever since they met. He needs her divine powers otherwise he wouldn’t be so adamant in her regaining her memories. “I’m nothing but a pawn to you, Jang Uk. I’ve known that since day one but last night when you used me as bait—.”
“You were never in danger, Buyeon,” he insists, pressing her back into the wood. “Park Jin went to your mother last night to make sure of it. I have my pride, yes, but I am more than willing to toss it aside in order to keep you safe. The Queen and Jin Mu are after something and they intend on using you to get it. I figured that out yesterday.”
“Was any of what you said yesterday at all true?”
Jang Uk is taken aback. Yesterday, Buyeon had been subjected to maidservant Kim’s antics of finding the perfect dress and finest jewelry for the banquet. He’d come home in time to catch her in one of the beautiful dresses the servants had helped her into. He’d called her pretty, been coy, and encouraged her to gloat about his affections for her, if only to get what he wanted in the end. But he had meant it. She had been beautiful in the dress, he did want her to wear the family crest, and he did want her to gloat to young lady Yun-Ok and the rest of the women at the banquet. Because despite his mistreatment of her after finding her with the Yin-and-Yang jade, and the way he lied to her face, she’d stood by him and his decision to use her.
“Goodbye, Jang Uk,” Buyeon says and shakes her head, shoving him away so she can leave. “Please tell maidservant Kim and Mr. Lee that I am grateful to them.”
“After everything, you will just walk away?” Jang Uk questions. “You can think all you’d like that you have the upper hand against your mother, but you know as well as I do that she will always be one step ahead. Okay, sure, let’s say you’re right and she doesn’t lock you away again. She won’t allow you to roam freely, nor will the man she intends to marry you off to. I may not be honest with you all of the time, but Buyeon, I will never restrict you. Not the way Jinyowon will.”
Buyeon spins on her heel, intent on telling him just how wrong he is even if she herself doesn’t believe it, when she collides with his chest, strong hands gripping her arms tight. She’s locked in place, frozen, as Jang Uk descends on her quickly, pressing his mouth firmly to hers. Just like last night, he kisses her with an emotion she not dare think him capable of feeling for her. But she kisses him back anyways, because his hands turn gentle as he cups the back of her head, tilting her chin up and forcing her to lean into him. Her hands rest on the sides of his waist and he knows. She won’t try to leave him again. Because if she really wanted to, she would reject him and make sure he knew how serious she was.
“Lady Buyeon, are you alright?” Maidservant Kim shrieks as she throws open the door. She gasps and puts a hand to her mouth, turning away from the couple. “Oh, my apologies. Mr. Lee said he heard shouting coming from Lady Buyeon’s room. I didn’t realize you were home, young master Jang.”
“It’s alright,” Jang Uk soothes her worries, dropping his hands from Buyeon’s face. He steps back to give her some room, fighting a smirk at the way his wife blushes. “Please have some food prepared for us. Lady Buyeon and I have much to talk about this morning.”
With that, he nods at both women and leaves the room while maidservant Kim and Buyeon both scramble about. He hears Buyeon stutter her way through an excuse while maidservant Kim tries her best to make it seem like catching a married couple together was no big deal.

Thinking About the Itadori Family
Spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen. Reader beware, you're in for a scare!
I find Kenjaku a fascinating character in a lot of different ways. There's always a game being played and a lie being told, and yet there's still this damp, flickering spark of humanity under all the theatrics, bullshit, and centuries of accumulated junk.
When Kenjaku escorted Itadori's former classmate from aeons ago back in chapter one out of the Sendai Colony, there was this really interesting softness they display nowhere else. Gone is all the pretense of mocking others and keeping secrets... perhaps because they knew most of it would be forgotten, as dreams often are. But it seems like Kenjaku may have given away some deep insight into the nature of sorcery by casually mentioning the "Cursed Realm" - which has never, to my knowledge, been mentioned before or since. Not only that, but Kenjaku tells her something truly shocking:
"Thank you for getting along with my son."
Like, you can see how weird this is, right? Face to face with Yuji, Kenjaku says, "I expect great things from you." Talking with Choso while Yuji isn't in the room, Kenjaku talks about him like some object; a mere vessel, the eye of the storm for the age to come. Talking with a non-sorcerer teenage girl who's unlikely to remember much, if any of the conversation, Kenjaku accepts Yuji as their son and expresses gratitude that she was kind to him.
So, is this a "Who we are in the dark" moment of honesty? Is this the consequence of Kenjaku being a composite of all these different personalities bubbling to the surface at different times? It's really, really hard to say. But I like the idea that somewhere at the bottom of it all, there is genuine love, if misguided in its expression. That's what I want to run with.
Personally, I've seen theories that Kenjaku duped Jin, or somehow used sorcery to enthrall him, or that Jin simply went insane before or after Kaori died and wasn't in his right mind. I think those are all possible, and they're more straightforward answers. But I want to get off the road and into the woods and see where I end up.
What if Jin knew? What if a pact was made to try to bring Kaori back, and even when the person who came back wasn't Kaori, Jin was still grateful? What if Jin was just grateful to get to see Kaori smile one last time, to get to hear her voice one last time, even if he knew in his heart it couldn't be the same ever again? Just like when Yaga brought Takeru back as a cursed corpse for Kusakabe's sister, so she could hear her son's voice and hug some part of him one last time.
And what if genuine love grew out of that gratitude? What if seeing this acceptance and kindness in Jin, of having someone give gratitude and a wish to be by Kenjaku's side, started to morph and change who Kenjaku was without them realizing the full ramifications of that at first?
What if that ache for a family, for a place to belong, for some connection to other human beings, has carved itself open inside this nomad of flesh and time? Journeying across a thousand years and potentially dozens of bodies, duping themselves into thinking they only cared about their grand experiment, only to narrowly dodge getting ensnared by their human heart and spending all this time since then trying to ignore their own humanity?
I still have a feeling Kenjaku isn't quite dead yet, and I want to believe a change that was started by Jin will have been finished by Takaba. With Kenjaku realizing they do want other people, that they do want to see human potential, not the potential of this mad experiment. And that they'll now be gunning to change the outcome of the Merger, in whatever way is possible.
Though I think this is probably just me spinning my own theories out into something that doesn't even resemble GeGe's plan. But hey! Each theory I make that's proven untrue by the author is an idea I can use in my own writing for free.

Reborn Rich the final episode
What an ending.
It's so bittersweet but I love it. Maybe it's my obsession with Jin Do Jun, but if you follow the actual chronology of things - Do Jun was reborn as Hyun Woo first. Because he died first. And if fate cannot be changed then he was meant to recover his memories as Jin Do Jun, which had alread been burried within him. Even before Hyun Woo "died" (for a week), it was meant to happen. So who is really who at the end? As Hyun Woo called it, you could think of it as repentance, but for me personally, Do Jun existed in Hyun Woo long before Hyun Woo got "reborn" as Do Jun.
All that being said, I do have some very smaaaaaall issues with the ending.
First, it felt rushed. Honestly the last 3 episodes or so felt really rushed compared to the rest of the drama's pace. Everything that needed to happen still happened, but it was just.... I don't wanna say half-baked but.....
Second, Hyun Woo got shot straight in the head point blank. You're telling me he miraculously survived that? Sure there are some miracles that happene even in real life, but it's a patter I hate with tv shows, nto just kdrama. At the very least, he would've needed years to recover. Although, if I really want to defend it, I could say the years he spent as Do Jun somehow changed Hyun Woo's brain's perception of time which afforded him just enough time to recover. Still, between Do Jun's and Hyun Woo's death, Do Jun would've had a much higher survival rate than Hyun Woo. Sure, Do Jun's car got slammed pretty hard, but it's not comparable to getting shot at point blank IN THE FREAKING HEAD, now is it? :/
Also I would've loved to see the actual process of Mr. Oh Se Hyun working with Do Jun's mother, instead of just hearing about all the things they're gonna do..... but we don't get to see them.
Jin Sung Jun's character deserved more too. Sure he was greedy, but he was not guilty of ordering Do Jun's murder. Both times he was innocent. He knew everyone would've suspected him, which is was exactly what his father wanted. It's the reason why he got the company in the first place. Sung Jun deserves some justice too. I feel like it would've been that more epic if the show had gone back to the conversation between Hyun Woo and Sung Jun from episode 1 and committed to the bond that was forming. Imagine if we had Hyun Woo and Sung Jun working together in the final episodes. Hyun Woo gets to finish Do Jun's deed and Sung Jun finally has a change of heart and pays tribute to his grandfather and runs the company with the same heart his grandfather had.
On a more positive note (says anticupid), Hyun Woo did not end up in a relationship with Min Young! Which makes logical sense, for once. I'm not saying I'm happy that they didn't get together, I'm saying it happened for the right reasons. But I'm sure most of the ship's fans will be satisfied that she seemed to recognize Do Jun in Hyun Woo in the end. One could imagine they did end up meeting up and like.... making babies. Idk.
I liked the future Min Young a lot more. Although for her to become the Soonyang Grim Reapper and wear only black because she was mourning for Do Jun, I really would have loved to see more of their relationship developing at least? As it was all based on only a few times they talked? Briefly? But I guess human emotiones are unpredictable, so it's possible. Anyways, there's that.
A little sad the endings of the rest of the characters were rushed by too, but I didn't see anything that made me think "hmm this doesn't make sense". Honestly, is there not going to be a season 2? Now I'm kinda disappointed, because I wish we had spent more time with how the other characters' life continued. As well as more to see of Do Jun with his family. But I get it, it was never the focus of the show.
All my other thoughts about this drama flew out the window.
I can say it was a lovely experience. I enjoyed this so much despite constantly finding something to nag about. I loved following Jin Do Jun's life, and that particular era in South Korea's history. The real footage they used. I loved Jin Yang Cheol's character, I loved Lee Sung Min's acting (as well as Joong Ki's, always).
It made me cry a couple of times and any drama that invokes real emotion in me keeps a spot in my heart. Especially when Ha In Seok went to testify and thought Hyun Woo was Do Jun (was he wrong though?) and wanted to protect him. The unspoken hero of this show. It was a fantastic story, even if we look at it only from Do Jun's perspective, it makes for an amazing story. Had Hyun Woo not even been a part of this drama, I would've still loved just watching Do Jun and his grandpa. Hyun Woo's growth at the end was the bonus for me. I get to exprience something which unlocked his cage and his heart. The boy who grew up in poverty and had many hardships because of it, the boy who willingly walked into a cage because of his trauma caused by poverty. He put his emotions aside, thinking that money was more important than them. Finally, he was freed from it all.
With a new look on life, a new heart and a new dream, he was able to leave all of his hurt behind and live in a way that not only fits him better, as a human, but also a life that Do Jun would be proud to see him live.
Ugh. I'm gonna miss Do Jun's smile though. I know Joong Ki plays both, but that smile is now Do Jun's until the day I die and there's no changing my mind.
Alright, time to go cry in a dark corner. I love-hate this ending.

Alright, another character breakdown! Keep in mind that as long as this list is, this definitely is not all of the major players in the book. Because there are just sooooooo many characters, I’m choosing to highlight the ones I remember and care about the most (SPOILERS AHEAD for character deaths):
Xiao Fangxu: great dad, damn his death hurt me
Xiao Jiming: still cannot believe he guessed his brother had a crush based on his BLINKING PATTERNS LMAOOOOOO
Gu Jin: hope he got that girl he got ratted out about, cause after all this, he deserves the rest
Ding Tao: baby boy 🥺
Chen Yang: glad he got it together and stopped with the petty shit
Tantai Hu: there were a few moments I thought he was gonna fall from grace, but a true testament to the idea that honesty pays
Li Xiong: BABY 🥺🥺🥺
Qi Huilian (Grand Mentor Qi): did not realize how important he would become and when I did, did not realize that he’d be KILLED; honestly, a completely unexpected death for me
Ji Gang: man’s been through so much but STILL is dedicated to fathering all these orphaned sons. Best dad award right here
Fei Sheng: finally got a life and sense of self-worth, but at what cost?
Qiao Tianya: never thought being told you could be a monk could be considered a threat
Yao Wenyu: i hate the emotions he’s made me (and Qiao Tianya) feel, knowing he’s already come to terms with death and ain’t feeling the shit himself
Kong Ling: you worked so hard not to be the personal advisor of a conquerer just to end up the personal advisor of an emperor LOL
Yin Chang: genius af, funny as hell, how you a grown man afraid of baths??? His death hurt
Qi Zhuyin: BIG QUEER ENERGY
Hua Xiangyi (Third Missy/Hua the Third): surprise high femme queen sneak attack!
Lu Guangbai: reminds me of the pets from Homeward Bound, never doubted him for a second
Lei Jingzhe: he really had me there for a second; epic death
Hasen: alright, we get it! The bad guys have families too! They’re also human! Stop beating me with it—! (another painful death even as I knew it was inevitable)
Duo’erlan: ok coming in clutch at the last second to steal a spot as one of the most badass characters! Was praying HARD they didn’t kill her…
Xue Xiuzhuo: good longterm adversary, i wish him a very fuck you, asshole
Fengquan: massive security oversight: man worked under a man who plotted the emperor’s assassination, his “sister” assassinated the succeeding emperor, and y’all bring him back AGAIN to work under the third emperor??? But you’re surprised he’s the hidden assassin????
Ling Ting/Li Jianting: poor girl
Jiran: cute last minute baby addition!
Xiao Chiye: best soldier, best uncle, best brother, best son, best partner, best—
Shen Zechuan: nobody deserves the throne more than him, fucking fight me Xue Xiuzhou
Xiao Chiye x Shen Zechuan: fan-fucking-tastic power couple, round of applause for their resounding success and the fantastic sex!
Overall a great book if you love political intrigue mixed with a little bit of war action. Violence isn’t too gratuitous, and there are trigger warnings for the worst of it. The characters are characters, and there is never a dull moment in this book. I did find it weird, though, that everything was trigger warned for except the two moments of noncon and dubcon between the major couples, but that may have been a translator thing? Either way, I’d watch any drama adaptation of this.

how gently do the clouds and flowers sway
Tumblr media
tags: gn!reader, reader has dendro abilities, fluff, pre!relationship
a/n: a new addition to the god!reader cinematic universe. finally felt inspired to write a little more for it and decided to give yun jin some of that love. yun jin is such a lovely character, you can really see how much love went into crafting her. it took a long time for her to finally be released to the game for those who knew about her since the first leaked images, but it was definitely worth it. i maxed out her friendship recently and thought she’d be a great match for god!reader. also don’t mind me making blatant references to the cruel prince at the beginning lmao. the opera she’s creating in this fic is a reference to the poem ‘a spring morning’ by meng haoran
春眠不觉晓, 处处闻啼鸟。 夜来风雨声, 花落知多少。
“I can’t thank you enough for your help.” Yun Jin smiled appreciatively. Red eyes sparkled with a warmth reminiscent of the lanterns at festivals. “Everything was so last minute but you’ve been keeping up with everything. I insist we pay you.”
“I told you already, Ms. Yun.” You took a pleased sip from your tea. Morax, or Zhongli as he went by now, wasn’t exaggerating when he said snow blossom tea was exquisite. You’d certainly have to ask him where to come by some in bulk. “You don’t need to pay me for this. This isn’t really a commission for me, so much as a cultural experience.”
It was honestly.
Liyue Opera was a tradition you had yet to discover in all your times exploring the nation of Geo. It was certainly much different than the instruments of your people, the dances you’d taught them and the rhythms you swayed to. You loved it. Yet you were drawn to the different practices of opera.
“If you’re so taken with it,” your old friend began after you expressed your interest over dinner. “I would recommend a performance by the Yun-Han Opera Troupe. If one truly wishes to experience Liyue’s opera, they should see the performance of Ms. Yun.”
Little did you know that rather than watching it, you’d be taking part of it. Well, to be more exact, you’d be doing work behind the stage. As it would turn out, Ms. Yun herself was in need of assistance.
“The director of the troupe has been wanting to add a little flair to their performance of one of their older operas, A Spring Morning.” Zhongli explained, much to your growing interest. “They wish to incorporate falling flowers into the highlight of their performance. I was told they were simply going to buy flowers and find a way to have them fall onto the stage without being overtly obvious.” A knowing glance was given to your fake Vision you carried on your person, similar to his own. “But I’m sure a wielder of Dendro could make the job easier.”
Now here you were, enjoying a cup of tea with the troupe’s director a few weeks later.
Yun Jin didn’t look happy with your suggestion. Every week she insisted you accept payment and every week you declined in similar fashion. “But this commission is lasting a lot longer than we expected!”
A Spring Morning had risen in popularity with this collaboration of yours, now it was all everyone wanted to see.
First you would use cherry blossoms.
The next time were crocuses.
You’ve also created showers of peonies, primroses and tulips.
Perhaps I should make petals flow to where even the audience sits. You wondered. The next performance was going to be the last one of A Spring Morning for a few months. This one has to be truly exceptional. Her magnum opus!
“You’re honestly doing me a favor.” You insisted after realizing the singer was still waiting for you to say something. You’d pick the flowers you’d conjure next time when you were alone. “Honestly! I’ve seen many things in my time traveling. I’ve seen the acorn before the oak, the egg before the hen.” You couldn’t help smiling as you spotted the one growing on your new companion’s face. “I’ve never come across anything like Liyue Opera before, I’m simply glad to be able to help bring a project to life while learning about the artform.”
“Oh Mx. (Y/N), I think you’ve just developed a flair for the dramatics.” Yun Jin replied with an amused lilt of her voice.
“If I have, it’s only because I learned from the best. I’ve been told your troupe is the best in all of Liyue.” You replied without missing a beat. “But I’m not exaggerating in the slightest. Money isn’t an issue for me, it isn’t why I travel.”
Unlike your friend, you’d been masquerading as a human long enough to understand the concept of Mora. In some ways, that lughead hasn’t changed at all. You wanted to snort, remembering how seamlessly he placed a tab for the meal you shared at a restaurant he recommended. How does the creator of Mora not have any to speak of now that he’s mortal? He’s lucky he’s so well-connected.
Unfortunately, you weren’t a god of such prestige for that sort of command and energy follow you into human form.
To mortals, Amur was simply a God of Festivals. On the other hand, you were also the Soother of the Dead. The one who helped the ailing find peace in their eternal rest, the one who’d leave offerings of lavender and rose on the graves of the forgotten. You were the reason humans learned to find joy in the short lives they did have. At least in the eyes of historians and researchers. To the youth of this era, you were simply a party god.
You didn’t create the peaks of mountains by casting your spears across the land.
You didn’t cut an island in half with a mere swipe of your blade.
You simply loved humans and their mortality so much, you wanted them to appreciate themselves more. Any story about mortals and their lives were much more interesting than another exaggerated tale about Murata or even the Tsaritsa. You wanted to see those experiences (Y/N), not as Amur.
Perhaps that was why you enjoyed Yun Jin’s company. You were like-minded individuals. The tales she wove were about the ordinary doing the extraordinary even without the help of gods. That, in your opinion, was the strength of humanity.
Your non-human brethren could scoff at the mistakes the many humans made. But despite the mistakes and despite the missteps, humans still prospered and survived throughout the generations. Seeing the woman before you dedicate herself to showcasing that beauty with her entire being was enough payment for you.
The makeup, the heavy costumes, and the many, many rehearsals.
She was exceptional, more than exceptional.
Yes, you wanted to be in the company of this human a little while longer.
Yun Jin sighed, “but there has to be something that you’d like.” She began once more. “Since Mora isn’t something you’d like, what if you received something else.”
“Your company alone is enough, Ms. Yun.” You hid your smile behind your tea cup. “What if you take me to one of those rock n roll shows I’ve been hearing about lately? That sounds like the perfect way to unwind.”

Honestly, I’m not sure how to word this. I’m positive Jin was aware Kaori was not in fact Kaori, so it makes me wonder: Did Jin treat Kenjaku like they were still the OG Kaori, or did he treat them like… A new wife inhabiting the body of his old one? Idk if this makes sense.
Because Kenjaku is not Kaori — they are not a good actor and though we don’t know OG Kaori’s personality, I can confidently say Kenjaku was not successfully emulating her. So Jin could not treat them the same way he treated her, the relationship dynamics would have been different as much as Jin knew something was very wrong and was rolling with it/in denial about it. But it’s still heartbreaking to imagine Jin knowing his wife is gone but still treating this Kenjaku like her. Disturbing, even.
Really, the dynamic of KenJin is so incredibly fascinating I wish Gege would do an entire backstory for the time Kenjaku stayed with Jin. And I’m really curious about the sex — like??? Jin would’ve had relations with Kaori normally, I assume, even more so if they were trying for a baby before she tried. And bedding Kenjaku would simply not be the same. Maybe it Jin just rolled with it, I guess. There’s something so ominous and uncomfortable and domestic about these two and I love it.
Yeah, I think it was probably a mix of the two. The basis for how he interacted with Kenjaku was Kaori, but he subtly adjusted it to fit their particular personality. Say, Jin and Kaori had a habit of going to the park together on Sundays. He probably wouldn't be like "let's go to the park like always!" but instead just ask Kenjaku "do you want to go to the park?" because that's what he always used to do with Kaori. Bit of a basic example, but I hope you get what I mean? The way he talks about Kenjaku in that flashback is pretty vague, which gives me the impression that he did treat them differently, but tried to keep up the usual everyday life he had with Kaori as much as that would be possible. I mean, Wasuke straight up says "you didn't have a kid with Kaori/that child is not Kaori's" and I think if he was really that deep in denial, he would've protested at that statement.
I can only see any coping mechanism working to a certain extent. It's like if Gojo treated Kenjaku like Geto (back when they still got along). That just doesn't work, even if we assume Kenjaku's actually putting some effort in. Although something tells me Kenjaku would have an easier time or prefer to impersonate Kaori than Geto...
Kenjaku is ready to go through a lot to achieve their goal, so I think they would be prepared to just lie there, spread their legs and wait to get pregnant, but if possible want to get Jin to accommodate for whatever preferences they have, just because it makes the experience more fun. Really, it depends on what kind of sex Kaori and Jin had I guess. If they were hovering upside down over the bed, I'm sure Kenjaku wouldn't see any reason to complain.
Must've been pretty uncomfortable though initially if Jin knew that wasn't Kaori. They have her appearance, so that makes it easier in terms of attraction, but he must've had some thoughts about if this is cheating or not. Unless he doesn't care about that stuff/tries not to think too deeply about it. I'm sure Kenjaku found a way to take his mind off of it.
I definitely wouldn't complain about an Itadori sidestory. The domestic aspect is also what fascinates me about their dynamic so much. It's terrible but also oddly sweet? In a very unhinged way. Or just give us another flashback to get a bit more info (come on Yuuji, 70 chapters is a good number, how about another family dream?)

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo Review
I'm happy to say that this is the only sageuk drama that I enjoyed.
Tumblr media
Go Ha Jin while saving the kid accidentally drowns and wakes up as Lady Hae Soo in the Goryeo dynasty.
She learns about the princes and becomes friends, but her life becomes even harder.
I'm probably the only person left who has not watched this drama and has been in the drama community for so long.
But as I mentioned I found it very interesting and that happens never if it sageuk.
The plot of the drama is interesting and takes us back to how things were in the Goryeo dynasty.
The loneliness of someone living in the palace, different castes and more.
One of my problems was the time establishment of time. Sometimes they will write down how much time has passed but other times (especially at the end) they just made us realise ourselves.
I get show don't tell but I was so confused for a few minutes just thinking if I turned on the right episode or I accidentally skipped something.
For example, when Taejo dies and the next episode we see Mu already going insane slowly.
And maybe because I'm watching it in 2023 some of the camera work was a bit weird, with how many close-ups we got.
I also enjoyed the characters but I wished they had more growth throughout the years because again nothing showed that so many years passed except for the historical details.
Not even their clothing, the man will get a beard but if you look only at Hae Soo you will not notice anything.
Everyone was still in love with Hae Soo (me too) and never wanted to let her go when those feelings were very one-sided.
I would say that we got a glimpse of growth with 10th Prince but he was killed right after.
What probably made me a bit confused was the whole Hae Soo and 8th Prince relationship. I get it at the start as he's the only one supporting her but at the same time, it was prolonged for too long.
Sometimes, I would even start thinking was I shipping 4th Prince and Hae Soo just because I know they're the end game or it is really their chemistry?
They had fewer scenes than I would've liked and if I remember right their true love story started after 10 episodes.
I have to add how impressed I was with Lee Joon Gi's acting, especially when you see 4th prince trying to compose himself while his lips tremble out of nervousness or anger.
Overall, this is definitely the most interesting sageuk that I have seen but it did have its flaws... A lot of times I was left wondering how would I have felt if I had gone into it without knowing everything...
If I watched it sooner. Now I knew that I would be crying my eyes out watching the last episode (surprisingly didn't do it that much) and I wanted those feels.
I also had a chance to learn a lot of Korean history because of that. I did a bit of research and it was just fun to see what was real and what the writer had made up.

The Glory part 1 and 2 Overall Thoughts
Slight spoilers ahead!
I think The Glory is the perfect kind of show for the watch style that Netflix likes to promote with its originals. I don't think I would have enjoyed this show as much if I didn't get to binge part one all in one sitting and do the same with part two. Binging really disguises many of the miniscule flaws this show probably has and in the end we're left with a deeply satisfying and cathartic revenge story.
This show is understandably not going to be everyone's cup of tea. The opening episodes have scenes of horrific bullying that can be triggering and incredibly hard to stomach. I understand why it was necessary though as it allows the viewers to feel the visceral anger and hopelessness of the main protagonist Moon Dong Eun.
The acting performances in this drama are top-notch but the standout in my opinion has to be Shin Ye Eun who plays the young version of Park Yeon Jin the main antagonist. I never thought Shin Ye Eun was a great actress before this but she's legitimately terrifying in this role, I both wanted to see more of her and less of her at the same time because she's so good as young Park Yeon Jin but I knew if we saw more of her we would have to see more of the horrible bullying. It got to the point where part of me wishes young Moon Dong Eun could have gotten revenge on young Park Yeon Jin just to see her reactions.
Slight spoilers ahead where I discuss two particular issues I had with the drama.
Like I said before, the show probably has more flaws that I'm not specifically pointing out I know there are people that have issues with the show and I don't really want to put too much of my focus on that because overall I thoroughly enjoyed this show.
The first issue that really stood out to me is although this drama does a really good job at centering bullying from a victim's perspective I do think they put a little too much emphasis on the physical scars that bullying leaves compared to the emotional ones. What I mean by this is that we see Moon Dong Eun use her scars to shock both Joo Yeo Jung and Ha Do Young and try to get them when they tried to dissuade her from getting revenge. In my opinion by doing this it kind of ignores the fact that people get horribly bullied but not have any physical scars but a multitude of emotional ones.
The second issue I have looks like it's probably a common complaint that lots of viewers have with this show and has to do with a character of Joo Yeo Jung. But I think my complaint differs from most people in that I didn't dislike the love line between Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun, the common reasons listed for being against their love-line are the big age gap between the actors and the fact that Song Hye Kyo has more chemistry with Jung Sung Il, all this is true and the love line is definitely the dramas weakest link but there's so little of it until the very end that it's pretty easy to ignore. However, I understand the writer's old school intentions behind the love line even though never translated to screen all that well. In the end, Moon Dong Eun got everything her 18-year-old self never got to have and got her version of a fairy tale ending.
I personally just wish the character of Joo Yeo Jung was a shade or two darker than he ended up being as we know Lee Do Hyun has the acting chops to pull it off in fact I think it's mostly thanks to his natural screen presence and acting skills that the character of Joo Yeo Jung doesn't feel out of place. His character's best moments definitely come when he lets out some of the darkness under the Pretty Boy veneer. I don't think any of the actors in his age group with a similar level of fame could have pulled it off.
I think I speak for most of the viewers of this show but Lee Do Hyun would be terrific in a psychopathic role. K-dramaland please let this man play a psychopath already!
For me it's hard to talk about the flaws of the show because in my opinion it got most of the really important things totally right. It never dumbed down its villains so the protagonist could have an easy win it made each win feel hard-earned and best of all satisfying. And perhaps most importantly it never tried to make you sympathize with its villains it portrayed them as fully fleshed human beings but never tried to justify their horrific behavior. It wrapped up every single storyline without any plot holes and I will always be thankful it handled Ye Sol's storyline that way it did. I was totally expecting them to screw up the storyline somehow but no Ha Do Young is Ye Sol's dad forever!
Whether you love or hate this drama, it's hard to discount the cultural impact this show has had on Korea and different parts of Asia in terms of the subject of bullying. Because of this show there has been news reports of people finding the courage to confront their bullies and famous people getting outed for their past bullying. With that being said I guess I have to touch on the fact that the director of the show himself had allegations of bullying what against him when part 2 got released. I don't think anyone should boycott the show because of the allegations as it seems like the situation is not so clear-cut. I think this article with its title sums up the situation the best so I'll just put the full title here: ‘The Glory’ director Ahn Gil Ho faces ‘bullying’ allegations from accuser that oddly seems to admit bullying themselves
TLDR: The Glory will not be for everyone but is a super satisfying revenge tale that boosts terrific acting performances with a few missteps along the way but those miniscule imperfections will most likely be in your rear-view mirror after the cathartic Netflix binge. 9/10
