LU Superhero AU Rambling
It’s so hard to write my thoughts about my Superhero AU into words, so let’s skip a good chunk of the lore and talk about the Links. I’m going to be a bit incoherent because I am very tired right now.
Sky - So for starters there are Blessings and there are Powers. Powers are typically biological and Blessings are well, blessings from the gods. In Sky’s case, his Blessing was his prophetic dreams from Hylia. His Power is um, honestly somewhat body horror so I won’t describe it too much. To put it simply, he grows a bunch of wings, like a biblically accurate angel. And he has a bunch of feathers. Anyways, his Power is a secret to everyone, including Sun, mostly because he recently discovered that he had this power. Everyone else just thinks that his Blessing is actually his Power. So he doesn’t go out into the fray often, but he is good friends with all of the Heroes and Knights. He also goes go-karting with Wild.
Wild - Okay, it’s crazy time now. So Wild used to be a Hero in training and Flora’s personal Knight, but then the Calamity struck(which was much shorter compared to canon because modern AU) and he lost his memories while the other Champions lost their lives. As well as a bunch of other people like Wild’s entire family but let’s not worry about that. He got trapped in a multiple month coma while Flora held the Calamity in place. Then Wild woke up and helped end the Calamity. He didn’t wield the Master Sword for long(he physically couldn’t after he woke up, it burned him and sapped away his life force)but he did speed run fixing the Divine Beasts and gaining the Champion’s Power, since his Power is being able to use the Powers of ghost/spirits. But he kept this Power a secret mainly because he was in complete and utter denial about the ghosts of his friends following him around. He still thinks that he’s just gone crazy, because he would rather have that.
Twilight - Heheh. So, he doesn’t have a Power but does have a Blessing, which is his ability to turn into a wolf. He parades around in his wolf most of the time, the public believing that he’s just a magic wolf spirit that decided to protect humans. Time also used to do that, so everyone thinks the two wolves are related somehow. Twilight and Time are actually cousins in this AU, because they have to be related somehow. He has a heavy face of goth makeup to cover up his markings whenever he wants to go out. But he generally just stays in wolf form most of the time, his Hylian form having the wolf pelt covering his face-with the Hawkeye mask on underneath it-so that when he is forced to transition into a Hylian, no one would know who he was. He also doesn’t talk too much while disguised, only talking to Wild and Red.
Time - He’s a Hero, but not for the reasons you think. He doesn’t use his Power, or even most of his masks, he’s just a great fighter and can be very intimidating. He wears the Mask of Truth almost all the time while on duty, with some people thinking that it allows him to read the minds of his opponents. It doesn’t do that, but it does helps him talk to Twi while he’s in wolf form. When not on duty, he’s on the farm, with his lovey wife Malon and occasionally blessed with the appearance of Twi in his full face of goth makeup. Time knows that the wolf is Twi but doesn’t tell him, it’s a lot funnier this way.
Wars - So there was this time war that no one remembers except for him, Lana, Commander(aka Artemis but I don’t like calling her that sry), and General Impa. So most know of Wars as an exceptionally excellent Knight turned Hero, who is currently training a younger Hero, Wind. Wars’ Power is the ability to use and identify different magical attributes, like Light, Dark, Fire, Water, and Lightning. Also because of the time war, everything kinda got messed up. Basically, it’s the cause of this AU every existing. Wars is very aware of this. He feels very responsible for this, because the whole thing started because Cia is a horrible person and wanted to be with him.
Wind - His Hero name is Wind Waker. Need I say more. He has wind powers. I honestly can’t think of much for him rn, I’m so sorry.
Four - He still hides the fact that he can split into four, but now he is split into four all the time while on duty. Legend is the only one who is aware of this, mainly because he had used the 4Sword before. Four’s Power is being able to turn into a Minish. Also Red is besties with Wolf Twi, they care so much about each other it’s so cute and I wish I could share all my thoughts about it. But alas, I am not going to, because I am far too tired.
Legend - The most famous Hero, unfortunately. He has no Powers of his own, but he does have a fuck ton of magical items and is very skilled with them. Before the story starts he had just came back from Hytopia, being a Triforce Ranger and having the time of his life. But now he has the Power to move his soul between the Doppels, and potentially…other vessels. He’s not going to tell anybody about this, of course not. Currently is training Hyrule, because he feels like Hyrule is connected to him, somehow.
Hyrule - He has a lot of Powers, he is the magic man. He’s a Hero in training even though he already saved two Zeldas, but that’s partially because his area of Hyrule he was from was far away from the area of Hyrule the story’s set. They don’t know much about him and his Zeldas.
Also this is all subject to change and may not be indicative of my actual thoughts and plans for this AU since I am not great at explaining things, especially right now.

Swear
hotch doesn’t swear. or at least he didn't, until he met you.
Female bau!reader x hotch. Cw: mentions of alcohol and reader being drunk, creepy man saying slightly creepy words to reader, swearing. Slight talks of anxiety, self blaming, guilt. Random man tries to get w drunk reader at a bar, hotch comes to her defense.
“To catching another dumb son-of-a-bitch!”
Raised glasses filled your mildly limited vision as your toast echoed bounced around the table. The night didn’t always end like this, but when it did, the team made sure to celebrate enough to last the whole year.
Today’s case was particularly satisfying. There was nothing like putting handcuffs on a seriously cruel offender that put a smile on your face and fuelled tequila shot after tequila shot. although, you wouldn't deny that perhaps it fuelled a little too much drinking.
“I’m pretty sure the ladies is on the left, Derek. Are you forgetting that my name is literally on the regular’s list?” Your own words sounded unusually slurred, but you didn't bother questioning anything that was happening in the moment.
The man in front of you chuckled, letting go of his grasp on your forearm as he lifted his own defensively, raising his suspicious brows with a smile. “Alright, alright. Didn’t know we were still on duty. Go wherever you want, agent. Just don’t get lost, and don’t blame us when you see something you do not wanna see.”
You rolled your eyes as you stumbled away, using the light of your phone to shine at the approaching door of the washroom. Once you reached the hard door, you stuffed your phone into your pant pocket and pushed on the flat surface.
“Woah-“
You felt the gulf of cold air hitting your face before you could register what had happened. A middle aged man stood dazed in front of you, his expression sweetening by the second, and it was right then that you realized Derek was totally right.
“Uh, I’m so sorry. I thought this was the women’s washrooms. Clearly I need to revisit my directions,” you tried to chuckle.
The stranger flashed you a toothy grin, and while you probably didn’t smell any better, you swore the man would catch on fire if you dropped a match.
“That’s all right, sweetheart. Here, where are you headed? I can give you a ride.”
You only now registered how close he was, and how close you were to the wooden wall behind you. You tried to look over his shoulder, but he mirrored your movements, smile so intact yours started to falter.
“Excuse me- get out of the way." Even though the music was being blasted at an unreasonable volume, your clear voice still rung throughout the room.
He laughed. “Come on, sweetie. You were the one to bump into me. Shouldn’t you…” he stepped closer again, “…make up for it?”
Your smile had fallen completely by this point, and you crossed your arms as you spoke, “I’ll say it one more time, sir. Get out of my face.”
“Just give me a little-“
the flash of a familiar red tie swung past you.
“You heard what she said.”
Looming behind the sweaty man was hotch, suit still impressively pristine as it was at the beginning of the day, but furrowed brows seemingly worse.
The man’s face flushed red at the interruption, and had you not felt so cold and had your hands not been shaking, you would’ve laughed at this stranger’s ridiculous appearance.
“And who the hell are you?”
“You shouldn’t be the one asking questions."
You uncrossed your arms, attempting to step in his direction. “hotch, let’s just go-“
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw an arm reach towards your waist.
“Hey, baby, don’t go away so soo-“
The sound of skin colliding hit your ears much aggressively than the blaring music. You looked down to see hotch’s hand firming gripping onto the man’s wrist, his arm just about to make contact with your body, no doubt.
“She told you to go away,” hotch whispered.
the guy sighed. “hey, relax man. come on, you get it. I’m just- you know, tryna get some action from this pretty little-” his sentence was interrupted by a nasty groan.
He toppled over, nearly in half, as hotch crouched down to his level, hand still squeezing his wrist.
“Maybe you didn’t hear her. She said to fuck off.”
The bar went silent. You swore someone had lowered the sound of the music, and it seemed everyone had stopped drinking and laughing to catch a glimpse of the situation.
The man managed to twist his arm to escape hotch's grasp, quickly scurrying to the front. You sighed a breath of relief as the door opened and the man practically ran away.
“Thank you-“
“Come on,” he murmured as he extended his arm, and you instinctively grabbed his forearm as you both began to walk.
You chuckled. “I’ve never heard you swear before.”
“I only use it when I need to,” he smiled.
“Wow. So I ruined somewhat of a clean streak, huh?”
He stopped. He turned around, eyes reflecting onto yours with the slight smile still wavering on his face. “You didn’t ruin anything.”
The seemingly immeasurable adrenaline finally stopped pumping in your blood, and the repressed tears finally made their space in your eyes. You returned his smile, giving his arm a firm squeeze as you whispered,
“Thank you.”
-
A/n: oh to have hotch comfort me and tell me I didn’t mess anything up 😔

The scarf fic was amazing! Short but gold. I absolutly loved it and I think it has huge potential for a series or a longer fic. Pervy william is what I *need* rn, seriously requesting a continuation;-;
Thanks for this request, it was much too nice to revisit prevy Will. Here's a little continuation, I might get around to some corruption smut in the future ;)
Lost Property - pt. 1 here
William Afton x fem reader
“Bugger.” You say to yourself as you lift up the few garments on the coat hook in search of your scarf. How can you have lost it already? “Bleeding ridiculous…” You mutter: it’s not there. Some fucker has probably swiped it, though to be fair you should know better than to leave anything unattended here, people’s belongings have a nasty habit of just ‘going walkies’ when not under lock and key.
You’re feeling pretty defeated until the thought strikes you that maybe somebody handed it in to the office. It’s at least worth a check. And so, not before putting your stuff in a locker, you take a breath and knock on your boss’s office door.
There’s a pause before his gruff and impatient voice lets you know that someone is in. “Yeah. Come in.” And you do.
“Hey Mr Afton…” You smile at him as you usually would. Not the kind of faux-bright grin you give customers but a more special self-deprecating one, reserved purely for colleagues. He actually smiles back, though it’s slow to spread across his face.
You are just a pleasure to see, especially wearing the same skirt as last time, the one that’s a couple of inches too short and delightfully skin-tight. The skirt that he thought about when he made the rota, always putting you on the shifts that he was supervising just so he can see how good you look in it.
“You alright, y/n?” He grins, eyes eventually finding their way to your face, the cool gaze making your face hot.
“Uh not too bad- I just wanted to ask if any scarves have been handed in? I left one here the other day and it’s not on the hook.”
Oh dear. He might have known this would happen. Your scarf certainly wasn’t handed in, in fact he knows precisely where it is and you definitely aren’t getting it back any time soon. Hell, no one’s having it, lest they pry it out of his cold, dead, horny, hands.
He sniggers briefly and you feel left out of some joke. “No, there’s nothing in here.” He prides himself on how naturally that leaves his tongue, because it’s not technically a lie. Then the most devilish idea appears in his mind. “... But I’m not sure about lost property, you could look there.”
And where is that, Mr Afton?
“Right. I haven’t looked in there before, where is it?”
The grin on your boss’s face becomes particularly wolfish and you swear his eyes sparkle. “Here, love. I’ll show you.”
~
After a short walk, spent behind your boss trying not to be put off by the way he towers over you, he shows you into a small room, little more than a cupboard. There’s shelves up the wall with boxes and baskets and shit, and on the floor a large clear bin full of clothes. He holds the door for you and stands aside to let you in. You throw him a polite smile over your shoulder, expecting him to leave you to it. But when you turn your back and crouch down to open the bin, you don’t hear any footsteps behind you. And turning around only confirms his lean frame still in the doorway.
You brush it off as maybe he just wants to be out of the office for a bit, and start rifling through the fabrics, looking for the distinctive light blue silky texture of your scarf. But with the amount of stuff in here it’s going to take a while.
William leans against the frame, taking in your perfect form, sitting there on your feet. That skirt stretched thin around all the best parts of you. This is the best idea he’s had in a while and he isn’t going to let it go to waste. So he pulls his phone out from the front pocket of his trousers, careful to keep flicking his gaze on you, and opens his camera to start taking a few photos of you down on your knees.  Knowing how grateful he’ll be to himself later, when he has the opportunity to act on the stiffening of his cock just from the sight of you. It’s hard for him not to touch himself right now, but he’s not that careless, a sweet thing like you would need breaking in.
“I don’t think it’s here… fuck’s sake.” You mutter the last part, though when you turn and see your boss with an amused expression, you apologise automatically.
“You don’t have to be sorry.” He chuckles, watching you stand to your feet. He pauses as he considers whether to say the next part. “It’s a shame about your scarf though, it looked lovely on you.”
You smile, a little dazed by that comment. It was unexpected to say the least, especially from such a handsome and scary man as Mr Afton, and especially when he said it like that. You’re suddenly very aware of how you were just on your knees in front of him and it makes blood rush to your face. Then it occurs to you that you’ve been quiet for a fair while, so you rush a response, “Uh thanks- my friend is gonna kill me, she only gave me it two weeks ago.” Embarrassment doubles after you’ve finished babbling, god you need to get out of this small room.
He just laughs, finally moving out the way enough to let you out, revelling in how such a little complement made you so flustered. “I’ll keep an eye out for you, but if it’s been nicked there’s not a lot we can do.”
“Yeah, it’s fine honestly. I just wanted to have a look.” Right now you just feel silly, like you’ve wasted his time. You just want to get out on the floor and start your shift away from the eyes of this attractive man. And mercifully he lets you go, not without walking you back down the corridors with a large and intimidating hand on your lower back, the gesture now making your hands sweaty.
It’s only when you’re gone and he’s back in his office that he adjusts himself in his trousers, not a stitch of guilt at the fact that just having you alone made him hard. And the knowledge of those photos made him throb.
You poor, cute little thing, he’s going to ruin you.

Stay
I can’t focus on other thing rn becuse @turquoisespace35’s mythology AU has taken over my brain so here’s a little drabble I wrote for it based mostly on this and this part 💛💚
———
“I don’t want you to go.”
He said it as firmly as he could. He had practiced it over and over again but still his voice shook. She had been honest with him from day one and there was still so much he hadn’t told her. He knew it might be selfish, might be impossible, might be too much, but he also knew she wouldn’t want him to hold it in. It wasn’t an order or request or even an invitation, it more like like a dream.
Once the moon entered the sky the gates would open and she would be able to leave. No one had ever been able to leave before. How ironic the one person who could was the only one he didn’t want to. He didn’t have a good reason or solid argument. It wasn’t logical or practical but it was true. He just knew that he wanted her to stay with him, everything else was just noise.
“What?” She asked in a tone Hunter couldn’t quite place. Was she shocked? Offended? Scared? Or had she just not heard him?
“I… want you to stay,” he tried rephrasing it. Maybe this was more honest. He didn’t want to be too honest too quickly because he knew what he really wanted was too much. He wanted every minute of every hour to be touched by her presence. He wanted to experience every sunrise and sunset with her. He wanted to cover his dreary island with vibrant flowers for her and sit beneath the apple tree as they exchanged stories. He wanted stories with her, he wanted to make memories they could revisit and share and have more time together than they had apart. He wanted the complicated simplicity she has shown him for the rest of his days. He wanted to ensure she knew nothing but kindness and gratitude for the rest of hers.
But above all he wanted her.
“But Hunter, I have to go back…” she started just as he knew she would.
“I know, I know,” he stammered, looking at the ground. “I know you do. I know you have a life back there. I know you have friends and your fathers and a future but I just… I needed to tell you. I know it’s crazy but I just needed to tell you or I’d regret it but Willow I just… can’t imagine the island without you.”
She smiled. “I have to go back,” she said again, scooting over to sit closer to him, reaching over to bring his face up to see hers. “To tell everyone how wonderful you really are.”
“What?”
“The emperor can’t keep spreading these lies about you,” she said softly, a few of his snakes nuzzling her hand to help express Hunter’s joy. “You’re not a monster and I won’t let him keep sending soldiers here to hurt you. All these statues, I know they were made out of fear. I know you would never try to hurt anyone. I know you’re kind, and sweet, and smart and me going back alive and unharmed will prove that. I need them to know you like I know you.”
I don’t care if they know me, he though. I only care if you do.
“And when I come back, I’ll bring you the sweet bread my dad makes and we can have a proper picnic when we watch the sunset and maybe figure out how-.”
“You’d come back?” He said breathlessly.
“Of course I will,” she said simply, scratching the closest snake to her on the top of its head. Will, she had said. Will, not would. A promise not a possibility. She didn’t even hesitate. “I’d miss you too much. All of you.”
“But why?” It would be easier to stay away, it would be understandable. He didn’t want it to be true so he wasn’t sure why he wanted her to put more thought into it. He just couldn’t understand how she could be so sure of him.
“Because I like you.” Again, she didn’t hesitate. She didn’t flinch. If she needed to lie she could’ve said anything, but Hunter knew she didn’t need or want to lie. She never had before.
“I… I like you too.” He said softly and the snakes hissed at him to speak up! They agreed! Say it again! Say it louder! Say it with confidence! “We uh, all like you.”
Her hand remained on the side of his face, her thumb gently brushing his cheek. She did this often, saying it help her memorize his features. The fact that she found them worth remembering made Hunter’s heart spin. He leaned into the touch and placed his hand over hers, intending to hold it there as long as she would allow. “So it’s settled then.”
He more than just liked her. He liked apples, he liked to read, but she was more than sustainably or a way to pass the time. She was his whole world.
“But what if they don’t let you come back?” He whispered, feeling unshed tears stinging his eyes. They had sent her here to die and when they saw she hadn’t, what would be next? Would she be celebrated? Would they send her to islands with more to fear to test her abilities? Would they deem her sentence unserved and try to kill her again? “W-what if they don’t believe you or what i-if they-.”
“Hey,” she cut him off and pressed her forehead to his. The snakes rested atop her head and by her checks, her calmness contagious. Their silence gave Hunter a moment of peace, a chance to focus on this moment with her. She was not worried. Somehow she was so sure of everything. She was so sure of him. She was so sure of this. “Have I ever lied to you?”
“No.”
“So when I say I’m coming back, I’m coming back,” she said with confidence. “I’m not gonna let the emperor or the rules or anyone stop me. I don’t know how they’ll respond but I have to try. You deserve that. But no matter what, I will be back with you.”
“I just… want to keep you safe.” He admitted, turning his head to the side to kiss her hand before bringing it down to their side. Their fingers danced together until they delicately intertwined as though they could not be kept apart. He knew she could take care of herself. He knew she was strong and tough and smart. But he also knew how cruel the outside world had been to her and he would do anything to ensure she was only treated the way she deserved to be treated for the rest of her days. He looked down at their hands, how they fit together so naturally. They shouldn’t work, but they did.
“You have,” she whispered, resting her nose beside his. He could feel her breath hovering across his lips. There was something else in her voice, as though he had done something else. As though she knew there was more he wanted and she was waiting and wanting to tell him he had that too.
This would not be his last night with her. They would have more long walks talking about nothing and everything. They would have more quiet evenings making up stories and blissful mornings gathering berries and finding reasons to be near each other. But there was something that a night like this inspired. Maybe it was the chatty snakes atop his head who had been constantly pleading with him to do all of this much sooner. But the sunset seemed to linger to offer them the ambience, as though telling the moon it could not come to open the gate until Willow had a farewell worth remembering. Until she knew exactly what she was returning to.
“I just… want to keep you… because…”
He didn’t give her a chance to ask for him to clarify as the small space between them vanished as his mouth covered hers. His other hand rose up to cup her cheek as he dared to repeatedly press his lips to hers. He wanted her to know it was purposeful. He wanted to give her the chance to pull away, but she seemed just as drawn to him as she titled her head to follow him as he moved.
Their lips had touched once before, after he had shown her the spot where the sunset was the brightest on the island. It has been only a moment and he had convinced himself it was accidental, that she had merely been trying to see him better.
But this, oh he knew what this was. He wanted her to know too. It was all the words he couldn’t say, that he didn’t know how to say, that hadn’t been invented yet. The snakes went crazy and hummed and hissed as they tried to process the emotions he felt. But it was too strong and too new and so they trusted him to sort it out for himself, not wanting to spoil anything. It was every time he wanted to be closer to her but walked away, it was a question and explanation all in one, it was natural and unnatural at the same time. His feelings for her were so simple, but that was what made them complicated. This was a goodbye and hello wrapped into one. This beautiful, building contradiction that she returned with vigor, reaching out to place her free hand on his waist to pull him closer.
“Well I guess I don’t have to leave right away,” she said softly as he pulled away for a brief moment to breathe. Her breathing was labored and her face was flushed as she let go of his hand to wrap her arm around her neck to bring him back down to her as she deepened the kiss. Hunter felt as though he was about to burst, feeling her lips form a smile against his. They were so soft and Hunter was so focused on how comfortable and warm he felt that he relaxed and crashed into her, nearly falling off the bench as Willow proceeded to kiss him with power and eagerness. But Hunter managed to steady them, not intending on letting clumsiness end the moment early as his whole world held him tightly.
He moved his arms to the small of her back, holding her just as tightly as he was convinced he was about to float away and only she could keep him bound to the earth. They both knew that her mission would not be simple, would not easy. They didn’t not know how long they would be apart. They didn’t know what trials awaited them. They only knew what they meant to each other, and they believed that this feeling was strong enough to endure anything and everything.
Willow let out a small laugh, and Hunter didn’t think much of it. He loved the sound of her laugh, the more of her that could be in the moment the better. But then her laugh became louder and a Hunter became worried he was doing something wrong. He had never kissed anyone before but he was fairly certain it wasn’t usually a laughing matter. As he slowly pulled away to see the cause, she followed him not wanting to leave the moment. She laughed again.
He looked and saw the source: the snakes were peppering her face with tiny kisses of their own.
“Sorry, hehe, it tickles,” she giggled as the snakes continued, much to his horror (though he could hardly blame them). But he quickly got over it, as the sight of her laughing in the rosy pink light of the setting sun drew him back in as he lunged forward to reunite their lips.
This time he did cause them to fall off the bench and Willow laughed as she was surrounded in affection. She hadn’t even left yet and already she missed him.
As Hunter and Willow continued to prolong their farewell, they didn’t notice the moon enter position. There was no urgency to act when it did, they had a few hours to seize it. But as the door opener slowly, three soldiers cautiously entered the domain. Swords at the ready, hearts determined, Luz, Amity and Gus walked forward to recuse their friend. A year of training had prepared them for anything, they had no idea what the monster was capable of. Luz scanned their surrounding when a familiar laugh made her cast her eyes down to the ground. She drew her sword and called to the others in panic.
“Oh my Titan, the monster is trying to eat Willow’s face!”

Horrortober Day 31- Trapped(Yandere Rise Leo x Reader)
A/N, not important: LETS GO! I DID IT! 31 DAYS OF POSTING! I'm probably going to revisit a lot of the ideas I had because the time constraint made it so I couldn't do as much as I wanted, but I'm still very happy with this. Sorry this fic's kinda all over the place, I started having trouble finishing it so I just went for it and now it's really... Off. Any criticism is welcome, constructive or not. This is supposed to be a gender neutral reader, so if I screwed up somewhere, please tell me.
-Ollie
CW: Alcohol, being trapped in a vehicle, party, underage drinking, kidnapping, unedited.
Words: 2005
Summary: Leo was the wrong person to call.
The phone in your hand rings a couple more times, your eyes darting back and forth between the lit up house and the dark street. The music was still blaring from inside, speakers pretty much pressed against the windows for mass volume. You could feel the ground vibrate beneath you, the trash and people littered on the lawn making the whole house look like a disaster waiting to happen. You can barely hear your phone’s ringing that signified your call was going through over the loud sound, the lights leaking out the window making you even more nauseous. You could feel the mistakes of the night take a toll on your body, the accidentally consumed alcohol making your mind fuzzy. The bitter taste should have tipped you off, but you wrongly assumed it was just from the carbonation. You hadn’t even fully realized what was in your drink until the third sip, your mind fogging over and making you panic.
The phone buzzes as Leo’s muffled voice finally comes through, breaking you from your stupor. You lift the phone fully to your ear, trying to think of what to say. You blink as you stare forwards, unsure what to do. You had forgotten why you called him, unable to think as you stare out onto the dim street.
“I think I want to go home.” You mumble, picking at the sleeves of your costume. The white button up of your vampire suit was starchy, and you swore you could feel it burning your skin. You wanted it off. You nod, agreeing with your own words as your voice starts to perk up. “Yeah, yeah. I do. Can you come pick me up? Please? My uh… My ride is gone.”
Leo’s quiet for a moment, and your stomach drops as you worry he’s going to leave you here. You look back at the house, not wanting to go talk to anyone there and beg for a ride. The one person you knew here had already left, leaving you behind with a cup of spiked punch while swearing it was clean.
“I’ll be there in a bit. Hang tight.” Leo responds, his voice softer than you usually know it to be. You open your mouth to respond, but your phone turns off, Leo’s contact shining brightly. You stare at the screen, feeling miffed. He hung up so quickly, you hadn’t even told him where you were. You sit down on the grass, the long cape acting as a small buffer between your pants and the ground. You watch the air around you while you goof off on your phone, waiting for a familiar blue portal to open up next to you. You open up his contacts, deciding he just didn’t know where you were, but the loud hum of an engine makes you stop.
Coming down the road was the turtle tank, it’s fortified outside looking daunting as it comes towards you. One of the people on the lawn starts to shout happily at the sight of the tank, a plastic cup full of foul smelling liquid hitting the side. You grimace, knowing Donnie was going to make you scrub it from top to bottom once he notices.
You walk up to the door and let yourself in, Leo’s impatient form sitting at the front of the tank. He pats the seat next to him as the door locks behind you, his eyes glued to the windshield and the road it showed.
“Thank you,” You mumble as you sit down, frowning at his silence. Leo was never this quiet. He always had something to say, especially to you, and his new attitude worried you. You shift awkwardly while he just nods and starts to roll the tank down the road, his free leg bouncing erratically.
“Was it worth it?” He finally asks, after you had driven at least a mile down in silence. You look up at Leo, surprised that was his first question. He doesn’t look at you, his jaw ticked to the side while he concentrates on the road. His body was slumped in the seat, his posture screaming relaxed if not for the erratic bouncing of his leg.
You chew on your cheek, unsure how to respond. His eyes dart to you, waiting for your answer, but you stay quiet. You know he was asking about the party, but his question was too broad to make it into your buzzed brain. Leo waits a minute more for you to answer before letting out a dramatic sigh, his eyes rolling in their sockets.
“Was going to this stupid party worth blowing us off? Did you have more fun here?”
You stare at Leo, shrinking down. His words made you feel guilty, your hands fiddling with the cuffs of your sleeves once more.
“I didn’t blow you off. I just made other plans.” You explain, trying to defend your decision to attend the party instead of the gathering the Hamato’s had every year. Leo breathes harshly through his nose, clearly not pleased. He plasters a smile on his face, looking at you cheekily.
“Oh I’m sorry. I must’ve forgotten you didn’t inform us of your plan change until three hours ago.”
You wilt in your seat, smiling weakly at the mutant. Leo turns back to the road, his hands gripping the tank’s steering wheel tighter than needed. Silence settles over you both once more, the tense and awkward atmosphere making you uncomfortable. You didn’t know what to say, trying to think of how to mend it. You felt bad, but in that moment, you really wanted to go to this party.
“You smell awful, by the way.” Leo remarks, glancing over at you. Your face heats as you scowl, no longer feeling guilty. He opens his mouth again, whether to insult you or to apologize, you didn’t care.
“When you go to a party with alcohol, you’re going to end up smelling like it.” You say coldly, no longer caring to try and mend the rift. Leo sighs, tapping his hands on the wheel while he tilts his head to the side.
“Did you drink?”
“Not on purpose.”
Leo looks at you, his brow-line furrowed and concern in his eyes. “Explain.”
“My friend gave me a spiked punch cup. Not sure if it was on purpose or not, but I ended up drinking a couple sips before realizing.” You bring your knees into the seat, curling up. Your eyes were heavy, and your body was starting to protest the late time you were up.
“I don’t like that.” Leo says slowly, his usually jovial attitude gone. You didn’t like how cold he was tonight, even if he seemed to be trying. His annoyance with you was making you more and more upset, your muddled brain taking everything much too dramatically.
“I never asked.” You retort. “And I wanted a ride home, not a lecture. It’s my Halloween, and this is what I wanted to do.”
“So you wanted to drink underage, got it.” Leo says sarcastically, his eyes darkening. You groan, rubbing your face as you try not to snap at him.
“20 is barely underage, and I wouldn’t have called you if I knew you were going to be such a jerk tonight.”
Leo’s eye twitches as he slams on the brakes to pull into a parking lot, shaking you in your seat and making you grab onto the control panel for support. Leo puts the tank in park before unbuckling his seat belt and turning his chair to look at you, an irritated look on his usually relaxed face.
You look at him, stunned. Leo wasn’t usually someone to act so huffy, so this whole night was a surprise. You wait for him to speak, to explain, but he doesn’t. Leo just continues to stare at you, his chin in his hands while his eyes look you up and down. You unbuckle your own seatbelt, standing up. You were tired of whatever fit Leo was throwing, and if he wasn’t going to take you home, you’d figure out how to go yourself.
You reach out for the handle that would open the door, grumbling all the way from the annoyance at Leo’s weird attitude. You snatch your hand back as alarms begin to blare and every outside entrance and view is shuttered, Donnie’s recorded voice coming over the speakers to announce the tank’s lockdown. You look over at Leo with wide eyes, his hand still on the button. He slowly slides it back, putting his chin in his hand once more.
“Oops.” He teases, grinning slyly. You stare at Leo, enraged at his actions. The childish behavior made you want to scream, to pull your hair out or to smash everything in vicinity.
“What was that?!” You demand, gesturing wildly to the now shuttered and locked door. Leo shrugs, still grinning like he didn’t care you were both now trapped for 24 hours or until Donnie came and figured out how to undo the lockdown.
“You tried to leave. I still want to talk with you.” He says simply. You stare at him, bewildered. Every word that was coming out of his mouth was making you more and more furious, the anger building threatening to burst.
“I have to get home!” You protest, throwing your hands into the air with frustration.
Leo leans back in his chair, crossing one leg over the other and his arms over his chest. “You weren’t going home, you were going back to that dingy apartment.”
“That is home.” You seethe, trying to not panic.
Leo stares at you, his eyes boring into your own while you slowly back down. His gaze was unnerving, like he was possessed and wasn’t himself. The last time you saw him like this, Raph had to hold him back from what he tried to do. You shudder, stepping back. You didn’t want to poke at his nerves when you were stuck with him for this long.
“I think it’s time I really brought you home.” Leo muses, seemingly thinking aloud rather than trying to tell you something. You look over at him, blinking slowly as you process what he said.
“You locked the tank. You can’t bring me home.”
“I’m not talking about that stupid apartment you insist on staying at.” Leo refutes, grimacing at the thought of your residence. You glare at him, not appreciating his words towards the place you worked so hard to get and maintain. “I’m talking about where you belong.”
“Yeah, in my bed, and not Donnie’s tank.” You grumble, making Leo snort. He stands up, coming up to you and taking your hand. You look at him questioningly, hesitantly turning to meet him. Leo squeezes your hand, smiling softly.
“I’m serious. I’m going to take you home once the lockdown’s over. You’ll be happy, and I’ll keep you safe. No more parties, no more stupid spiked drinks. You’ll be with me, like how it’s supposed to be.”
You furrow your brow, trying to take your hands from Leo, but he holds firm. You nervously laugh while trying to break free from his grip, unease starting to build up. “Ha ha, very funny Leo. Now let go, you’re starting to freak me out.”
Leo shakes his head, straightening up as he looks brightly at you. “I’m serious. I’ve been trying to think of a good time to bring it up, but after your little party stunt, I figured now was better than never. You’re coming home, whether you like it or not.”
You stare at the mutant, fully starting to panic now. Seeing the timer slowly ticking down helped hammer it in, your stomach lurching as your mind starts to shut down. Leo smiles, pulling you into his arms and rubbing your back soothingly, pretending like he wasn’t trying to uproot you from everything you knew. You had 24 hours stuck with him, and 24 hours of him to break you down. You really hoped you could last.

Sky realizes he has a lot of grandchildren (mini fanfic)
*AHEM*
I have decided every day, I’ll write a mini fanfic (like >10 paragraphs wrong) to get myself prepared for febuwhump >:) (I’m gonna be writing every day something, stay tooned!)
this is the first one.
(P.S. this is probably not lore accurate to the Zelda games itself, but I have to make it clear how the timeline was established for myself 😂)
“Wait, what did you say about the royal bloodline?” Sky perked up from his embroidery. He remembers Zelda gave it to him when they revisited Hyrule. She showed him this amazing thing called cotton, which was much softer than any other material on skyloft itself. He wonders how she is doing sometimes, building an entire kingdom is a lot of work.
“The royal bloodline?” Warriors looked over, “I once heard someone tell me it has carried goddess blood for thousands of years.”
“Oh yeah! That reminds me, I once heard that the kingdom was started by a guy who used the triforce to destroy a great evil.” Hyrule chimed in, “Imagine holding the entire triforce at all times- must be hard!” (A/N, sounds rich coming from you Hyrule)
“…What about the blood of the goddess then?” Sky quipped. He was the one that used the triforce. He killed Demise. Could this have meant…? He and Zelda, could they have-
“Must have been in love, I guess.”
“Me and Zelda… love?” Sky’s heart couldn’t take the emotions that were sent to him, “The entire timeline, our childre-“
“Uh… Sky?”
“Guys, I think we killed him.” Wind looked over to the passed out hero sleeping on the ground. “Twi can I borrow your wallet? I wanna see how many rupees I can stack on his head.”

soft ground, claiming moon
out-monster the monster
@natsumeweek 2023 day 1; sun/moon read on ao3
(next)
x
The worst part about all of this is that Shuuichi found out by accident.
Natsume was uncharacteristically energetic on the phone. Not so much excited as anxious, and not overly so by any normal person’s standards, but Shuuichi knew him just well enough to tell.
It wasn’t his place to pry. But Shuuichi spent a good chunk of his time worrying about that boy, small and overshadowed and terribly lonely, so maybe he was entitled to prying just a little.
“Any big plans this weekend?” he said conversationally.
“Oh, uh, I don’t know if you’d call them ‘big,’” Natsume replied, with the slightest trip in his tone that would have been a huff of laughter if Shuuichi was talking to anyone else. “All of us are staying at the temple. Tanuma’s place, I mean. Even Ogata and Shibata are going to be there.”
“So it’s a party,” Shuuichi teased, something in his heart going soft the way it always does when he’s reminded that Natsume has a big group of chaotic, good-natured friends who are happy to go out of their way to spend time with him. “I didn’t know you had it in you! Especially since you fight tooth and nail to avoid going to all the ones I invite you to.”
This time, Natsume really did breathe out a laugh. It was a big personal win for Shuuichi.
“Definitely not a party,” the kid said dryly. “At least, not by your standards.”
“Well, it’s at least partly a party if the whole gang’s getting together. What’s the occasion?”
“The full moon rises on Saturday,” Natsume explained, as if that was a very normal thing that normal people were both aware of and planned events around.
“If you tell me Taki has finally turned you into a witch, I’ll be very disappointed,” Shuuichi said, only half-joking.
“I don’t want to be a witch or an exorcist, thanks. I have enough on my plate as it is, don’t you think?”
Considering one half of his bloodline’s very storied history, and the gift—or curse—his heritage granted him, Shuuichi has to admit that Natsume makes a compelling argument. It’s a mark of how far they’ve come that they’re able to joke about it with each other on the phone.
“Satchan’s probably going to be too tired to do much of anything,” Natsume was saying. “I think we’ll mostly wind up napping and watching movies.”
Ah, the small-town mountain life, Shuuichi thought to himself, not unkindly. He would have gone insane with boredom if he was stuck in Hitoyoshi at fourteen, but Natsume, who has lived in a dozen different places in half as many years, genuinely seems to love it. At least there’s relatively less trouble for him to find out there.
At least he’s well-protected from people like Shuuichi out there—people who made a career out of hunting down people like Natsume.
Shaking away the grimmer thoughts, Shuuichi asked, “Do I know Satchan?”
He was familiar with the names of Natsume’s friends, given how often Natsume talked about them, but that one wasn’t ringing a bell.
“Oh, uh, I meant Nishimura,” Natsume said quickly. He sounded embarrassed. “That’s—Kitamoto calls him that.”
Saving the cutesy nickname as mockery material for another day—they would definitely be revisiting that—Shuuichi said, “Ah, your friend with the excellent taste in movies! Is he not well?”
“He’s fine.” Natsume’s tone took an oddly defensive turn. “We’re taking care of him.”
Something about that pinged in Shuuichi’s brain as very weird, but a lot of conversations with Natsume did that. If he stopped and wondered about every strange thing his young friend said, he’d never get anything done.
It’s not until much, much later, when Shuuichi is juggling emails from his agent about his role in an upcoming period piece and exorcist correspondence regarding a grudge in Osaka, that it occurs to him what weirdness, exactly, the back of his mind had picked up.
A few weeks ago, there was an animal attack out in the forest that all the children frequented. Shuuichi found out through Touko, who called him to explain why Natsume would not be making the trip to Tokyo to visit him on set after all. Satoru was in the hospital, she told him. Natsume hadn’t gone to school in days, camping in the boy’s hospital room with their friends. They could hardly be budged.
It was so strange, Touko had said tearfully, because no one in town had a dog anywhere near big enough to do that kind of damage. And there certainly weren’t any wolves left in Japan.
He had reached out to Natsume the next day, sending him a paper man that delivered the question, Do you need my expertise?
He was a monster hunter, and it was a simple, unacknowledged way to ask if there were monsters at large in Kyushu. Natsume’s reply came within the hour, the talisman paper turned brittle with the powerful signature of his magic. It was ozone and static electricity, the wildness of nature. The touch of it contained the barest hint of a threat.
No, it read. We’re taking care of him.
“Fuck,” Shuuichi says out loud, to Sasago and Hiiragi’s disdain and Urihime’s delight. He’s up and moving a second later, barking over his shoulder for the familiars to begin sealing the doors and windows, setting up the barrier, preparing the house for an extended absence. One never knew how long a job might take.
Shuuichi yanks open a cabinet door in his workshop. A neat row of silver tools glint with promise beneath the warm lamp light.
There is at least one wolf left in Japan.

I feel I'm rubbish at these, cos I don't give prompts, it's more a collection of words like "HangMatt, with lingerie maybe" *shrug emoji* 😉 Oooooh! Would you ever consider more details on the Hangman Matt experiments?? 🥺
Look So Good Underneath Me - also on AO3
~
Adam decides to try a new one of his experiments with Matt, and decides on pink panties. It backfires. Deliciously.
~
Jules I need you to be aware that this is ENTIRELY your fault. This prompt isn't rubbish, it's pure GOLD. Thank you! Title from Pink G-String by Scene Queen.
~
“I have a present for you,” Adam says once Matt picks up the phone. He lights up immediately.
“A present?” he asks. “What kind? Can I see?”
“Not until Dynamite,” Adam says, fighting his own grin. “You gotta wait.”
Matt huffs. “This is one of your stupid experiments again, isn’t it. Is this like the time you bought me a neon orange butt plug and had me wear it the night we won the six-man tags in Ring of Honor? Is this a throwback?”
Adam throws his head back and laughs. “Oh, my god, no. But we should revisit that. That was good.”
“But it is an experiment,” Matt says, and when Adam turns his eyes back to his phone screen, even FaceTime can’t hide Matt’s interest. “Right?”
“Maybe,” Adam singsongs. “Maybe I just want to get something pretty for my boyfriend.”
“So it’s something pretty!” Matt says, like he solved some sort of puzzle. “Just tell me.”
“Nope,” Adam says. “You have to wait.”
Matt groans, sounding like Adam’s high schoolers would get when he’d tell them they couldn’t skip any more classes or they’d fail. “Is this like the edging thing you did back before the pandemic that backfired?”
Adam frowns. “No. God. Why would you remind me of that disaster?”
“If I’m miserable, you’re miserable,” Matt says, with a grin.
“What a horrible line,” Adam laughs. “I thought you loved me.”
“I do love you,” Matt clarifies. “But you’re being mean to me so I figured I’d give it back to you.”
“Cute,” Adam says. “Very cute. I wish you were here so I could fuck that smug little smile off of you. I’ll have to wait until Wednesday, though.”
Matt turns pink. “Miss you.”
“I miss you too, baby,” Adam murmurs. “I’ll see you soon. Two days, okay?”
“Two days,” Matt confirms. “Love you.”
“I love you more.”
Adam hangs up and has to shove his face in a pillow with the stupid, fluffy feeling building in his chest. It’s been months back with Matt, and before that years with and without him, and he still gets all dumb about him.
When he’s finally gotten his shit together and has stopped mooning over his boyfriend, Adam grabs the box he’d ordered and pulls out the pink lacy thong, neon and so flimsy it’s almost pointless.
The sight of it alone, the image of what Matt might look like wearing it, is enough to get him hard. He gets off looking at a photo of Matt, and curling the lacy fabric in his free hand.
~
“Hi!”
Adam turns to see a familiar flurry barreling toward him and leaping into his arms.
“Hey, baby,” he says, hugging Matt close. Matt’s legs around his waist feel like home. “It’s only been a couple days, you really miss me that much?”
“Uh-huh,” Matt says, burying his face into Adam’s neck. He sighs. “Plus you did the teasy thing again with the present, and now that I see you, I know I’m gonna get it.”
“Oh, you’re gonna get it alright,” Adam says, sliding his hand up Matt’s thigh.
“For the love of god, not in the airport.”
Adam brushes some of Matt’s hair out of the way. “Oh! Hi, Nick.”
“Hey,” Nick nods. “Can you put my brother down, please?”
Matt lets out a long suffering sigh as he slides down Adam’s body to the floor. “You ruin the fun, Nicky.”
“I ruin the public indecency charges.” Nick hits Matt in the back with his own backpack. “Grab your stuff so we can all get to the hotel and I can have some peace away from you two heathens.”
“Heathens, schmeathens,” Matt says, rolling his eyes as he grabs his backpack and Adam’s hand. “I’m not the one who was checking out Billy Gunn’s ass last week.”
“Really!” Adam says. “Nick, do you have a thing for Billy?”
“Shut up, Matt,” Nick grumbles. He won’t meet Adam’s eyes. “Matt, you said you wouldn’t say anything.”
“Yeah, but it’s Adam,” Matt says, like the name alone gives context. “You know. We tell him everything.”
“You tell him everything,” Nick corrects, shaking his head with a little smile on his face. “I try to keep a little mystery going.”
~
It’s a whirlwind to get back to the hotel, and they end up with less time than Adam had hoped to get ready. He’s in the middle of unpacking when Matt shuffles past him with his carryon thrown over his shoulder. Always the performer.
“You know you don’t have to show off the biceps all the time for me to think you’re hot, right?”
Matt throws a grin over his shoulder. “Yeah, but it’s fun.” He unzips his bag, and Adam is…concerned.
“Oh,” Adam says, blinking. “The white gear.”
“Yeah,” Matt says, taking the white gear and putting it carefully into his venue bag. “I thought you like the white gear.”
Adam bites his lip. “Oh, I do. I definitely do. I just, uh,” he turns around to go to his checked luggage, and pulls out the poorly wrapped gift. “Here. Open it.”
Matt’s brow furrows. “Oh, I know what this is.”
“You do?” Adam asks. “How?”
Matt locks his eyes on Adam’s as he rips it open, pulls out the box, and pulls out the panties. “Because you’re predictable, Adam.” He grins. “You’ve always liked me in pink.”
“Okay, see, but who wouldn’t?” He crowds into Matt’s space until Matt’s back hits the wall. He brushes some of Matt’s hair over his shoulder, careful to graze his fingers against Matt’s neck, just to make his shiver. He leans in, lips at Matt’s ear. “You look so good in it.”
Matt exhales. “Why are you doing this to me when we have to be at the venue in twenty minutes?” he whispers.
“Because I like it when you get riled up.”
Matt laughs. “So predictable.” But he’s breathing a little heavily, his eyes are a little blown, and he can’t stop looking at Adam’s mouth. “I – do you want me to wear this under my gear? Because, well, Nick and I thought white gear because it goes with everything, but we also brought something else.” Matt steps away from Adam and reaches into his bag.
“The purple and black and white would definitely make it harder to see the thong through the clothes.” Adam licks his lips. “Then it’s just you and me who know. Maybe I’ll snap at it a little during the match, just to remind you.”
“Okay, seriously, this is just mean,” Matt says, and he folds his arms across his chest. “You better get me really good after Rampage. I don’t care how tired I am.”
Adam tilts his head. “I – what?”
“You heard me,” Matt says, sliding a leg between Adam’s. “You’re gonna rail me so hard after tonight’s match, when we win those belts back, it’ll be like we’re back in our Ring of Honor days.”
Adam blinks. “That might be the most dominant you’ve ever been, and it’s begging me to fuck you. You’re an enigma, baby.”
Matt is snippy and on edge the whole night, and Adam fights the urge to laugh when Kenny says, “Jesus, what crawled up your ass.” Matt huffs and glares at Adam.
“Are you two in a fight?” Nick asks. “Because if you two are in a fight, I’ll be forced to kill you if we don’t win tonight. I don’t want to commit murder.”
“We’re not fighting,” Adam says, and his expression is apparently not blank enough because Nick groans.
“Jesus, you two,” but at least he’s laughing. “Don’t even tell me. Just,” he turns to Matt, “be normal for the match.”
“I am normal!”
“Are not.”
“Are too!”
“Okay,” Adam says, stepping between the two of them before they get each other riled up in the bad way. “Why don’t we all get back to the locker room and start getting ready, yeah?”
“I’ll see you three later,” Kenny says, eyes not leaving the screen next to Tony. “I don’t want to miss anything.”
It’s early to get ready, with Rampage just starting, but Adam would rather Nick and Matt be bitchy in private than to gather an audience.
“I don’t know why I got dragged in here,” Nick says, rolling his eyes.
“Because Matt’s bitchy and you were goading him,” Adam explains.
“Yeah, Nick –”
“Nope,” Adam says, shoving him into a chair. “Not on your side, baby.” He takes the moment to loom over Matt, who goes all giant eyed and soft. He adds the next sentence in a whisper. “Be good.”
Matt nods. “Okay.”
“I’d say teach me how to do that,” Nick says, flopping into a chair, “but I think that would be gross.”
Adam laughs. “No shit, Sherlock.”
They watch the rest of the show as they slowly pull their gear on. Nick is rambling about shoes while Matt stays extremely close to Adam.
“Matt, I’m not gonna fuck you until after the match,” Adam murmurs, disguising it with a kiss to Matt’s temple.
“Why not?”
“We have, like, twenty minutes before we have to be at gorilla.”
Matt gets this little smile on his face. “Well –”
“No!” Adam laughs. He falls onto the couch next to Matt and grabs him around the waist. “God, you’re the worst.”
“You both suck pretty bad right now,” says Nick, but he’s smiling down at his phone, so Adam thinks it’s not too bad. He resists the urge to ask if it’s Billy.
“I gotta go put on my gear,” Matt says, and he winks at Adam. When he gets his things out of his bag, Adam feels a shiver run up his spine when he spots a hint of neon pink. From where he’s bent over, Matt flashes him a grin that makes Adam rock hard in seconds.
“Fuck,” he mutters, and he realizes far later than he should have that, as much as this experiment messes with Matt, it’ll mess with him, too.
~
Adam thinks the universe is an absolute dickwad by sending Swerve out in the middle of his match with Matt. He’s able to focus when he gets flashes of pink, so slight and so infrequently he’s sure no one else can see it. But it powers him, and it focuses him, and it reminds him why he’s here.
He catches the pink in the corner of his eye right before he pins Cage.
“We did it!” Matt says, breathless and grinning, belt in his hands as he walks backstage. “We won!”
“We did,” Adam laughs, and he’s not doing the best job of staying in the moment, stuck on Swerve and what he might do next. “Holy shit, we did.”
“Hey,” Matt says firmly. “Focus on right now.” He raises his belt and bumps it with Adam’s, and it feels like a promise. “We did it.”
Nick barrels in. “Not to interrupt the love fest, but Hung Bucks champs for life!” He throws his arms around the both of them, and they stumble their way into a wall. Adam’s happy, the kind of soul expanding, deep, long term happy he only feels around Matt, around Nick, around his friends.
The way he used to feel around the Dark Order. But he’s going to listen to Matt. And he’ll focus on right now.
Still tangled with both Bucks, Adam pulls back a little and grins, locking eyes with Matt as he slides his hand down Matt’s back, just under the hem of his pants, and snaps the waistband of the panties.
Matt looks deliciously scandalized, the pink across his cheeks and the smile making it very clear where his mind went.
“Okay,” Nick laughs. “Let’s get backstage to the –”
“Oh, no you don’t.” Tony practically stomps over to them. “I need you two – not you, Adam, unless you want to, I guess – to help coordinate Ubers and Lyfts for some of the talent.”
 Matt blinks. “Why?”
“Because it’s much later than we usually wrap up Rampage and it feels like, I don’t know, wrong to have everybody just try their best to find a ride back to the hotel when it’s past midnight.” He wrinkles his nose. “And I have to talk to the owner of this place about how, no, the blood isn’t going to bring a bad reputation to the place.” He gives Nick a look. “Unless you want to do the political work.”
“I will begin setting up Uber and Lyft rides as long as you never threaten me with politics again,” Nick says. “Come on you, two. Adam, you can talk on a phone, right?”
“Literally no,” Adam says. “Like, anxious millennial is my whole vibe.”
“Deal with it,” Nick says, and he grabs Adam and Matt by the wrists and yanks them over to a quieter space.
Adam makes so many phone calls. So many. Matt, next to him, is chattering away with a big smile, and the tiny hint of pink peeking out from the back of his pants is enough to make Adam’s brain fry.
They go on like this for twenty full minutes, call after call to coordinate between people. The worst is giving specific Uber and Lyft codes out to talent until they can barely read numbers, until Tony comes back from his meeting with a smile.
“You three,” he says, pointing to them, “are godsends. The owner of this place figured out what was happening and thought that we could use that to combat any blood related PR for the night, so no more worries about the way things look.” He exhales. “Go back to the locker rooms, get ready to go. They’re giving us an extra forty-five minutes to clean up and give you time to get yourselves together.”
“Great,” Adam says, blood suddenly no longer in his head. “Wonderful.”
“I’m heading back to the hotel now,” Nick says, typing on his phone. “I can shower there. I’m beat.”
Adam laughs, almost accidentally. “Come on, Matty, let’s go clean up.”
Nick goes with them to get his gear, and Adam’s so hard he’s getting dizzy. Matt can’t even know how the way he bends over flashes the tiniest hint of pink every time, how Adam can tell, through the pants, Matt’s in a thong that Adam bought for him. For some ungodly reason, Matt pulls on a tee shirt. A shirt. He’s covering up that perfect body more.
Adam feels like a dick, but he tries to silently will Nick to pack faster.
Matt yawns a little, stretching enough to reveal another flash of pink, and Adam snaps.
“Nick,” he says, voice sounding tight. “Need help packing?”
“Nah, I’m good,” Nick says. He throws his bag over his shoulder. “You guys wanna get Denny’s or something?”
Matt opens his mouth, but Adam barrels over him. “Nah, we’re good.” He shoots Matt a look that he hopes conveys ‘stop talking so I can fuck you into oblivion.’ “We’ll see you tomorrow, okay?”
Nick narrows his eyes, studying Adam’s face, and Adam tries to stay as neutral as possible. “If you end up on the news tomorrow for whatever this,” he waves his hand, “energy is, I’m not bailing you out.”
“Deal,” Adam says. “Fine. See you tomorrow. Love you. Bye.”
Nick’s still laughing as the door swings shut behind him.
“What is up with –”
Adam doesn’t give Matt the time to speak. He collides with Matt, grabbing at his shirt, ripping it at the hem at his haste to get it off.
“Mine,” he growls against Math’s mouth as he kisses him.
“Oh!” Matt yelps. “Oh, yes, love this.”
Adam shoves Matt against the wall, leaning in to suck a bruise into Matt’s neck, down his shoulder. Matt hums into it.
“I kind of liked that shirt,” he pants. “You ripped it.”
“Yeah?” Adam asks. He grabs at Matt’s thighs and lifts him. “Deal with it, baby, I’m gonna wreck a lot more.”
Matt lets out this delighted, high pitched little whine. “God, took you long enough.”
Adam drops Matt on the massage table, scrabbling at the waistband of Matt’s gear pants. He grabs Matt’s hand and pins it to he massage table when he tries to help, and Matt exhales.
“God, yes,” Matt exhales. “I love it when you get this way.”
“You in those fuckin’ panties,” Adam grumbles, roughly yanking Matt’s gear pants down. He lets go of Matt’s hand, needing an assist, and Matt reaches above his head to grab at the top of the table.
“Yeah?” Matt asks, lifting his hips so Adam can yank the pants down. “You like them a lot?”
“I can’t stand them,” Adam says, and he doesn’t even take the time to take the panties off. He leans in, mouths at Matt’s dick through the lace, and the whine that comes out of Matt is almost enough to make Adam come in his pants.
“Adam,” Matt gasps. “Oh – take ‘em off, now, I need you to fuck me immediately.”
Adam pulls back, grinning. “Did you just swear?”
Matt pushes up on his elbows. “Did you just stop?”
“Fair point.” Adam pulls back and locks his eyes on Matt as he walks back to the bags.
“Why are you leaving?” Matt asks, breathing so hard Adam can see the movement. “Come back.”
“Gotta get lube, baby,” Adam says, grinning. He slides his hand in his bag, and it’s right in the front pocket, in the ziplock one quart baggie that made the TSA agent blush. He flicks the bottle open with one thumb, and Matt drops back with a thud against the massage table.
Adam gets back to Matt and unbuckles his pants as fast as he can, his cock springing from his boxers when he shoves them down his hips. It’s almost a relief. He grabs Matt’s legs, yanking him half off the table.
“Yes,” Matt says. “Yes, now, anything.”
Adam laughs, and it sounds a little dark to his own ears. “Slow down baby, we gotta get you nice and open first.”
Matt whines, one of Adam’s favorite sounds, and throws his legs over Adam’s shoulders without another request. Adam presses a kiss to the inside of his thigh. “I gotta take these off first.”
“Okay,” Matt says, but Adam stops him before he moves his legs. Adam leans in and carefully grabs the band around Matt’s thighs with his teeth, dragging them down a thigh. It’s harder than he would have expected, but with a little help from his hands, the panties are gone. He shifts, ducking so he can yank them off and throw them somewhere in the room.
“You have no idea how hot that was,” Matt pants. “Get in me.”
“Hold on,” Adam laughs, turning to bite at the soft skin of Matt’s thigh. He drips lube on his fingers and watches, rapt, as he traces Matt’s hole for a second, listening to Matt’s pained whimpers.
“Adam, please.” He sounds like he’s near to tears. “I can’t wait any more. Please.”
Adam slides a finger inside of Matt, and it’s so easy, like he’s made to fit inside of Matt. Matt exhales and his body relaxes.
“Not enough,” he gasps, “but better.”
Adam grins as he works in another finger, Matt pleading for more as each twist of his fingers presses up against his prostate. With the third, Matt’s heels press into Adam’s shoulders so firmly Adam’s pretty sure there will be a mark.
“I’m ready, and you know it,” Matt bitches. “I want it now.”
Adam drops Matt down, grip iron on Matt’s thighs, until he’s at the right angle. Like this, he can pull Matt down on his dick, the leverage so perfect it feels impossible.
“Oh, god, yes,” Matt groans. “That’s – holy fuck.”
“Two fucks in one night,” Adam quips, finally clearheaded now that his dick is buried in Matt, “what a surprise.”
“I could go for two in one night,” Matt says, and he uses those obscene biceps and a grip on the table to fuck himself on Adam’s dick. “Back at the hotel?”
“Focus on getting railed right now, Matthew, Jesus,” Adam laughs, but he can’t stop smiling. It’s been years since they started doing this, months since they fell back together, and it’s still this good. He still can’t get enough of Matt’s attempts to keep a conversation going, of the way Matt yanks him down for a kiss, the way he’ll grab at Adam’s hand even when it’s impossible to hold hands.
“I love you,” Adam says, “just wanna make sure you know.”
“I know,” Matt says, eyes fluttering closed as Adam adjusts the pace and the angle. “I – know, Adam, I love you too. I wanna come soon, please?”
“You asking permission now?” Adam chuckles. “That something you might wanna try? Me saying no?”
“Not today, but yes,” Matt says. He’s got his teeth sunk down in that pretty pink lip of his, and Adam has to lean in and kiss it, just for the moment. He taps Matt’s leg to make sure he hooks it right around Adam’s waist, then moves his hand, still slick, to wrap around Matt’s cock. Matt whimpers when Adam keeps his grip lose and not quite what he wanted. He was tortured earlier with knowing all of this was covered in pretty pink. Matt can get a little teasing too. Only, he realizes, as he loosens his grip even further, now he’s thinking about those panties, and what Matt would look like in another pair, and his brain is flames again.
“Matt,” Adam laughs, a bit delirious, “fuck, I think this experiment backfired.”
“I disagree,” and he sounds far too put together. Adam picks up the pace of both his hand and his thrusts. “I – oh my god, right like that – think it proved that I look good in panties, right?”
“Yeah, of course you do. But I think it fucked with me more than it fucked with you.” He digs his fingers into Matt’s thighs, tightens his grip on Matt’s cock. “God, I want to be inside you all the time. Next time I’m fucking you with the panties on.”
“Yes,” Matt whines. “Yeah, get – get me all kinds of colors, rip ‘em off me.”
Adam isn’t used to feeling this, like he needs to fuck Matt and won’t settle until he does, like being hilt deep in the man is the only thing that will keep him stable. He may have accidentally edged himself, which he didn’t realize was possible to do. “Anything,” he growls in Matt’s ear, and he bites at Matt’s thigh. Matt gasps.
“If me in undies does this to you, I should have gotten some sooner,” Matt laughs breathlessly. But the laughter fades quickly as Adam fucks into him like his life depends on it. “I – just like – this is different – don’t you dare change anything or I’ll – yes!” Matt comes spectacularly, so emphatically it gets up on Adam’s chin, and it’s enough to make Adam’s head spin with how he’s the one who made this happen. He’s the one who gets to see Matt like this, who gets to fuck him, who gets to love him, who gets every perfect and messy piece of him.
When he comes, he wonders if he’s allow to start thinking about proposing again.
“Jesus,” Adam says, exhaling as he pushes Matt back up the massage table. He drops his elbows down on the massage table, dropping his forehead on Matt’s messy belly.
Matt laughs, hands sliding into Adam’s hair, gently stroking. “Yeah,” he sighs. “I’m glad we have our own room. Think how weird it would have been to do it in the locker room when anyone could walk in.”
Adam raises his head. “You say weird, but I think you mean hot.”
“Of course I mean hot, but I’m trying to be a normal person.”
“Nope,” Adam says, and he presses a kiss right above Matt’s belly button. “Not allowed to be normal. If you were normal, you wouldn’t be Matt.”
They kiss and touch and gently wash in their private shower. Adam shares his shampoo with Matt and tries not to think of how it’ll make Matt smell like him, how it’ll make everything that much more difficult for him to manage knowing Matt feels even more like his.
They stumble out of the showers naked, drying off together, and dress with the slowest hands and most wandering eyes.
Adam thinks they’re in the clear, for once. Most of the roster is long gone, Nick’s at the hotel. Tony’s probably packing up. They might have time to waste. He and Matt are giggling at each other, hands all over each other like they’re in high school behind bleachers, packing up their stuff, when the door swings open.
“Any of you EVP guys got a – the fuck is that?”
“Is what?” Matt asks, and his expression is so clearly feigning innocence that it’s almost embarrassing.
Mox laughs, nodding to the corner of the locker room by the showers. “I bet those are yours, Jackson. You always look so good in pink.”
Adam’s and Matt’s heads snap over to – yup. Matt’s panties are still in the corner.
“Oh,” Matt says, biting his lip. He looks over to Mox, and Adam can see the way he steels himself. “Yeah, they are. And I do look good in them. You’re right about something.”
Adam thinks his own astonishment is reflected by Mox’s face. “Oh,” Mox says. “Okay. Yeah, didn’t see you admitting to it so easily. Damn.” He scans Matt’s body, then his gaze flickers to Adam. “You ever want a third, you got my number.”
“What?” Adam asks. “I thought you hated me.”
Mox laughs so hard and for so long it gives Matt the time to grab the panties from the corner of the room and stuff them back in his venue bag. “Oh, dude, no.” He shakes his head. “You think I would put myself in the position to get my hands all over the two of you in matches because I hate you?” He chuckles, almost condescending. “Jesus, you’re stupid. I love it.”
“What did you even come in here for?” Matt asks, planting his hands on his hips. He’s got a that little blush back, high on his cheeks. Adam knows what that means.
“I figured one of you two would have a phone charger.” He wiggles a gigantic brick in his hand. “Only room in the building with a light still behind it.”
Matt scoffs. “I have a charger, but maybe not for something that ancient.”
“It’s got a lightning plug!”
Adam snorts. “Sounds like a butt plug brand.”
“That is not a butt plug brand,” Mox says, at the same time Matt goes, “I’d buy from them.”
Adam watches the two of them lock eyes, and that blush rises up Matt’s cheeks even deeper red. But, Adam notes, it’s matched by one on Mox’s cheeks. “Okay, well, if you two are done eye fucking, we can find you a charger.” Adam decides to keep the idea that just popped into his head safe for later, when he and Matt are alone.
“We weren’t – we didn’t –” Matt looks over at Adam, panicked, but settles at Adam’s grin.
“Yeah, we were, baby doll, and I think he liked it.” Mox winks at Matt, then Adam. “So. Where’s that charger?”

Thank you for the ask!!
for every “🌹” received in my inbox i’ll post one random sentence of a random WIP i’m currently writing
Okay so I was going to answer my remainder of the roses in my inbox with wip's that would probably never be finished but this made me find a wip I had entirely forgotten about that I might actually write because it's technically "half-done" for me.
There's this claurenz sex pollen fic? Where the author gives permission for remixes or alternate perspectives in their works? So the fic is from Lorenz's pov, and I was going to write Claude's pov:
“Wait!” Lorenz freezes, bent over and reaching out to the rose. Claude thinks he may have warned him in time, and takes a step forward as he goes on to say, “Don’t—” but then he sees Lorenz’s fingers around the stem, “oh, shit.” Lorenz stands, releasing the flower so that the rose swings upon its broken stem, and Claude swallows, as he lets his original warning drift off, “Go and…” ‘Don’t go and touch that,’ his mind supplies unhelpfully. Lorenz’s cheeks look as though they’re already dusted pink and Claude has to look back the way they came, dreading Lorenz’s reaction to the sour news he has to share. There is still a sliver of hope, and Claude tilts his head back with a silent prayer that Lorenz will answer his question in the negative and they can revisit the subject when Lorenz will be more prepared to scold him. “You breathed it in, didn’t you?” Lorenz looks like he wants to protest, and Claude almost shakes his head — hating that everything between them has to result in debate, but then Lorenz draws his own conclusion. “I take it this is poisonous? Lethal?” A sardonic laugh bubbles past Claude’s lips, and he wonders whether Lorenz’s assumption will lighten the reality of his situation. “No,” Claude says quickly. “It’s, uh, it’s called … a bunch of things. Rose of Bassarid?” Lorenz shakes his head, and Claude could be imagining it, but his eyes look darker — pupils wider and eyelids heavier. He’d heard it was fast acting, but he hadn’t expected — Lorenz is fidgeting uncomfortably, vision dancing across Claude and their surroundings like a cornered animal. Selfishly, Claude wonders if he can spare the time of an explanation by simply finding a name for this poison that Lorenz might be familiar with, so he tries again, “Scornflower? Cethleann’s Bane?” “I’ve heard of it,” Lorenz says, curt and breathless, and Claude lets a smile of relief crack over his features, taking this annoyance to be a good sign. “Okay,” Claude says, assured. “That’s great.” Lorenz’s expression hasn’t changed however, as if he doesn’t recognize the predicament he’s in — that they’re in. “You don’t know what it is. Do you?” Claude asks, brow bending in defeat. Claude watches as Lorenz shakes his head again and curls his hands at his sides — and then makes the decision to keep focused on Lorenz’s face even if his friend can’t keep eye contact. With Lorenz’s hands at waist height it would be hard to avoid his inevitable arousal. Claude would much rather be invited to admire Lorenz, one day, maybe, and refuses to risk that imagined invitation because of curiosity and wanting discipline now. Besides, Lorenz’s eyes are so plaintive and pretty, Claude feels guilty enough keeping up appearances. “Okay.” Claude takes a deep breath, and feels his own cheeks burn with second-hand embarrassment as he explains, “It’s an aphrodisiac with some nasty side effects.” “Side effects?” Lorenz’s eyes widen, but his voice is … remarkably calm, but for the gasp in it. Lorenz’s breathing begins to pick up — and Claude hopes he doesn’t faint. Lorenz looses a breath past his lips, puckering them in a way that exaggerates the moue of his displeasure. He is standing against the sun and for all his composure looks as a man in need of comfort and Claude has to divert his gaze to keep from imagining it — throwing himself at Lorenz’s hungry mouth, taking him in hand and talking him through it. He raises a hand to the back of his neck for half a moment, remembering how Lorenz’s distress is doomed to intensify. “If you try to wait it out you might go sterile. Or, hypothetically speaking, if you’re made to wait it out.” An uncomfortable chuckle makes his words breathy. “Nasty thing to do to a political rival.” Lorenz makes a strangled noise of protest and Claude shuts his eyes guiltily. Professional, reliable, friendly, sympathetic — Claude knows he can be these things for Lorenz, has to be in a situation like this, for any other shared moment to have meaning.

slam poetry ~ stevie sun x rowan stone
Rowan decides she wants to audiotape the outcomes of her cases instead. With Stevie's involvement, it turns into the world's worst podcast. (Murder at Homecoming)
wc: 1.4k, teen and up, strong language
a/n: written for @choicesjanuary2024, day 16: "relationships". Ever since I finished MaH I really wanted to write something for Stevie and my MC Rowan but somehow writer's block hit. Eventually I stumbled upon this scene from 22 jump street which inspired, well, this whole thing.
Audio recording number -- erm, I might have lost track of this stuff already. Let’s call it Number 3, because I haven’t done this in a while and the previous was Gabriella’s case, which I think has enough audio transcripts of mine being circulated around in several small magazines.
All right, let’s do this one last time. Name’s Rowan, Rowan Stone. I have a missing sister and for the last er, let’s say two years-ish-- I’ve been a -- well, let’s say I’m more than happy to do stuff for this dead-end town. Kind of a hobby, actually. If I’m off the video game controllers and not playing the drums, I’d suppose. I don’t like cop work, not a fan of sitting at a desk either. My policy is to just toss paper at annoying people. Hate the clicky-clicky sounds of keyboards, hate when people cross-talk - people in general.
Are you recording tapes again?
Stevie, arghh, this is going in the archives, for heaven’s sake! Now I’ve got to do it again.
What’s it for?
The -- thing, the--
You’ve forgotten, haven’t you?
No, it’s like -- you know how I have been writing down my case reports as of lately?
When have you ever maintained an archive?
I thought it would look good on my resume or something, isn’t documenting a big thing now? You take five hundred photos everyday.
Someone has to document you moments before a disaster.
The idea is that I don’t have to deal with stupid keyboard clicks. You know the kind of annoying noise they make?
Aw man, I thought you were into the weird detective aesthetic with the smokey room and the brown furniture and this rusty-ass typewriter.
Anyway, well, I was meaning to record this tape as a summation of what happened with Pierre and the test scores thing that I cracked. You know how he ended up hacking into the school’s servers and everything. Blew out of proportion, I tell you. Pierre was right there and yet everyone had to blame it on Brian. The dude hasn’t seen sunlight in over ten days from that tendon he pulled.
That’s it?
Yeah, I mean, that covers it, right?
Okay, Ro, I love you, but you are the absolute worst at summing things up.
You’re not pulling a twenty questions on this, are you? Vogue 75 questions or something?
I am surprised you know what vogue is.
Of course, it’s that Madonna song. Kidding.  Honestly if it weren’t for Stevie right now, I would have been done in ten minutes.
Right, isn’t that what Einstein said? Spend time with a girl for five minutes and it’ll feel like ten or something?
Totally not what Einstein said, but go on.
He also sat on a stove or something, right? Reckon he got his rear end burned or something?
Listeners, I humbly submit to you the stuff I put up with on an everyday basis. No, Stevie, I don’t suppose anyone wrote a thesis on Einstein’s charred end and I don’t think nobody wants to either.
Who are you even talking to? I mean, what’s this thing even for?
A Case-Revisiter.
You’d be better off typing on a keyboard, though.
I’ll pay you twenty bucks hourly to help me with this.
Nahh. No offense, but like I have way better things to do. Have I ever told you the time when I graffitied the vice principal’s desk? Serves him right for cutting off funding for the arts program to fund a get this, SEASONAL, emphasis on “seasonal” baseball league that somehow never happens. Oh my god, Rowan, you should look into this. If anyone smells like embezzlement and uh -- a bunch of other shit, it is this dude. Anyway, the graffiti was hilarious though. I drew like uh, like this erm- thing, y’know?
And who’s terrible at summing up again?
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait-- I’m trying to like, remember-
Right. Listeners, you might as well get bundled up for the next ten years.
Who are you even distributing these tapes to, even? I mean, I know there’s a market out there for feet and true crime, but like, we’re neither.
True crime sucks, by the way.
We should put like a picture of a foot, but with blood and stuff. Yay, podcasting.
For the record, listeners, this is your standard Stevie-Does-Oddly-Specific-Jokes-Because-She’s-Run-Out-of-Material segment.
Unless this is for your personal use, which is like, okay weirdo. I mean, if you really want to go to sleep with my voice running in the background, you can do so with some discretion. Like actually asking me.
For the last time, this is -- honestly I have no idea why I am doing this. My dad found this tape recorder thing and I was like, sweet, I don’t need to store hundreds of voice notes in my phone anymore.
You have voice notes?
Yes, actually. Some of them are long elaborate slam poetry things about you, falafels and the justice system.
Aw, you write slam poetry about falafels?
I’ve only got one line, though.
What is it?
Falafels are great. They’re -- your--
Rowan Stone, everybody. Will give Sappho a run for her money. Not the historical Sappho, the one I know from Couscous. It’s like this grimy run-down club that plays Avicii and Avicii only but they have these slam poetry nights where people just walk in with shit like ‘roses are red, violets are blue’.
Weren’t we talking about Pierre?
Pierre’s shit at keeping secrets. That’s why he gave you such an easy case. Donovan and I had the whole forging-ID business and this dude walks up and asks if he could get into this place, like a molerat and he blew our cover. Pierre, if you’re listening to this, fuck you for ruining my business and everything, y’know? I was running that like my own battalion of tin soldiers that puts Kathy Neighbourhood-Woman’s Christmas decorations to shame. Also, stop ruining school for us and forge your report cards like a normal person.
Let the record show that this is the first and last audio-memo-whatever-the-heck-this-is I am ever doing.
Good. Let’s go out. Come on.
There’s this fun karaoke place down the road that just opened up. But I do have --
I’ll punch you if you say work. You’re a child! An infant! A-- uh, small human person.
Chores, I have chores. Mom’s already pissed that I have, maybe pissed some people off at school for turning in my assignments late.
Get out of chores, y’know? Also you probably saved the whole town or something. Not cool, Mr and Mrs Stone. Also is it me or do you also see how weird the whole process of ‘grounding’ is? You get chores as a penalty for not doing homework. That’s like getting shot in your leg but being treated for an allergy to mushrooms.
Karaoke sucks though. We should get absolutely wasted in a bar.
I don’t know if you’re being serious or not.
Honestly, it’s difficult, because on one hand, it’s like-- nothing good happens in Beachwood. Karaoke places get shut down. Bars are raided because I dunno- for reasons. Carnivals are an excuse for sponsors to get more money into their pockets which ruins the experience for everyone. Arcades are no longer fun because the games are rigged to make you funnel as many quarters as possible.
You know, I thought dating would bring out a change in you, but you still sound like a grandma who has a picture of Aragorn thinking it’s Jesus.
It’s so difficult to make a change, though. I still think we should just do something familiar.
I am not having a repeat of the tuna salad incident.
Remember when this audio recording was supposed to be about Pierre?
Pierre who?
Now I remember this is why I had a crush on you.
The baiting isn’t going to work. I do it with nuance. What you do resembles a pathetic wet cat. You are not dragging me to the tuna-salad place. Please.
But I wrote some poetry, besides the falafel stuff. Here, listen to this. Titled ‘For Stevie’.
Someone kill me, please.
‘Slam Poetry! Lots of yelling! Waving-’
Pierre, where the fuck are you, Pierre?
‘Generic compliments about hair and eyes. Specific instances where I decided I liked her. Stevie! Ste-uh-vee-’
Okay, forget I ever said you were cool.
‘Not to be confused with steeds or the V in sweaters. Ancient Romans! Lots of uh, gerunds. Loving, big lovey-doving, uh-- girlfriending. Girl, friends -- ding. Doorbell. I reach out- press the button. Butane gas prices. Pa-pa-pa-’
All right, I’m pressing this button.
Wait, wait, wait, I’m not done yet, I’m not do--

I don't know if I ever plan on writing for MaH consistently, but if you are interested in these fun lil stuff, let me know! (Say even a potential Nora-meets-Rowan crossover fic) I'm also thinking if this garners a bit of interest, I'll do a character sheet for Rowan. Thank you so much for reading!

Talking about Characters from the Iliad/Odyssey that I liked a lot :3
(Alternative: I just talk about people who were on the page for like. A minute and then nothing because I really just wanted to talk about characters who weren’t like. As well known as others?)
Every day I fight the urge to talk about how much I dislike Song Of Achilles-
Okay anyways I wanna talk about characters from the like Iliad-Odyssey (sadly not Aeneid because I haven’t read that yet) that I really like because they always balance out the anger I feel when thinking about the artificial divide that had to happen between Pat and Achilles over Breisis is TSOA because-
Okay, okay aaa that’s not what this is about. If anyone wants to hear my thoughts feel free to tell me because I’d gladly give my take as someone who just kinda knows the myths and vibes with them (there’s a reason the Iliad is my favorite book)
Anyways characters/probably historical figures(??) from the Iliad/trojan war era and the odyssey that I really liked beyond like. The main crew. While I ramble note that I am just someone that likes these guys. I’m not giving amazing riveting new information. I just don’t really want to write out the SoN re-imagining nor do I want to try and revisit the Machaon and Podalirius concept work I was doing (or potentially mess around with some Ulysses dies at dawn concepts because aaa-) okay- okay,
I (obviously) like Machaon and Podalirius. Like I said I have some concept sketches of them buried in my Ibis paint somewhere. I really liked seeing them mentioned in the Iliad when they were, and the two of them just feel like an interesting concept to explore if I ever do more like. Actual mythology not just Pjo stuff here on the blog. Also this is devoid of anything but they have good character to bounce off each other and they live in my brain.
Palamedes! He’s not actually in the Iliad but was a prince who was in the Trojan war. He was the dude that had to fetch Odysseus and he’s also really interesting and I like thinking of him as the ‘straight-man’ to all of Agamemnon’s stuff before Odysseus took over the roll. I also really like his story :3
Is Sarpedon one of the more well known characters? Idk. I talk about Hector on here too so really I break my own rules but I like Sarpedon as a concept (you can tell I like a lot of these characters for the ideas they give the brain.) He’s an interesting fellow. Maybe one day I’ll actually have something insightful to say about him.
Okay Hector. I really like Hector, I like seeing him in conflict with his brother. I like the ideas and how Hector acts and how he like does stuff narratively. I like him for the same reason I like Demetrius in Midsummer nights dream. They’re both kinda just guys who have to put up with everyone around them and it’s silly. He also has the whole really big stone thing during the siege(?) of the Achaeans camps that was fun.
Now are the Odyssey guys and it’s literally just two people who caught my attention in the Odyssey.
Antinous. He was really like ahfiakfbsjjs in my mind. Between getting off the high that was reading the Iliad and being like gently laid down in the Odyssey I really liked him? He sucked don’t get me wrong, but I liked that he sucked. He was a little trash guy and I liked that, hand him over.
Peisistratus. For anyone who forgot him or doesn’t know who he is this is Telemachus’s friend and traveling buddy from Pylos. He just kinda appears at some point and I really like him. He feels scruffy in my head and I think he’s a really interesting character! Also I like the friendship between Telemachus and Peisistratus.
Also shoutout to Antilochus who I didn’t put down but he was also really fun.
Okay wow! I said literally nothing this entire post. But uh. Maybe I’ll actually post things more often about stuff like the Iliad and Odyssey? I’m obviously no like classics expert but hey. I like random people that are in my stories. Also Antinous. I genuinely didn’t think I liked him that much but now that I’m thinking about him he’s really silly- haha funny scruffy man. If anyone asks he is synonymous with the like-
Tumblr media
This cat right there. Make it have an ego and boom. Antinous deserves like everything that’s coming to him in the Odyssey and it’s really fun to just watch him rampage
Okay I’m really tired goodnight

FFXIV Write 2023 :: Day 23
Prompt :: Suit Characters :: Nomin tal Kheeriin, Grathgar Senkasch Word Count :: 1,237
FFXIV Write 2023 Master List
Tumblr media
The sands of Gangos were cool, thankfully, because the sun beat down otherwise on the cove where the Bozjans convened for war plans and debriefing. Though Nomin had come at the behest of Marsak when she had chanced to revisit Kugane once getting back from the First, she had distanced herself from the meetings. At least the ones that were more about upping morale, or providing words of inspiration. As it stood, Nomin felt as if she were not the greatest at either.
Instead, Nomin stood several fulms away from training dummies that the soldiers often used to keep their skills sharp. She held a gunblade in one hand, feeling its weight within her grasp. It had certainly been different from holding a spear, or using her bow. Hells, it had been weightier than the rapier and focus she had come to use to channel her aether to utilize red magic.
“Y’ain’t gonna get better at usin’ the thing the more ye stare at it, lass,” came a gruff voice.
Nomin looked behind her to the owner of the voice. There was a hrothgar standing there, his arms folded over his chest, and his expression not very discernable under his mane and scruff of white hair. A pair of goggles had been situated upon his head, crowning it.
The hrothgar’s name was Grathgar, and the one who had introduced to Nomin a gunblade of her own after she expressed mild interest in it. It was a training blade more than anything, with a failsafe so that the aether charges within had not produced as large a bang as the more combat-ready ones did. However, it was weighted to feel the same as holding the real thing.
“No need to remind me…” Nomin replied, partially frowning. She looked down at the blade and the cylinder that had clicked into place when she looked at how many charges it had. Flicking the cylinder and hearing it spin, Nomin walked over to Grathgar and huffed a quiet sigh.
“I hesitate to ask, mostly because the thought doesn’t really tickle my fancy…” Nomin started. “Though I don’t suppose there’s something that would fit me? A suit of armor so that I might get a feel for the weight and material while I train?”
Grathgar offered a soft chortle to the inquiry.
“Aye, that we do. We likely have somethin’ or other around here fer ye size…” Grathgar scratched his chin momentarily. Throwing a hand up, he then turned and led the way toward one of the supply tents. “Let’s see if we can get ye suited up, then.”
Glancing over his shoulder, Grathgar then asked, “ye ever wear somethin’ heavy an’ more suited fer protectin’ yer softer bits?”
“Nothing like plate or, uh, scale, if that’s what you’re asking,” Nomin admitted. She afforded the scales on the back of her hand a brief glance. “I’ve never really been one to stand on the front lines if I could help it. There are typically others more trained for it than I ever have been. The closest I’ve gotten is what I’ve worn for lance training in Eorzea -- but most of that has been leather and chain for protection.”
“Ah…then ye have quite an adjustment to make…” Grathgar responded. “We have armor that’s suited fer our practices, but it’s still gonna be heavier than what I imagine ye’ve been given afore.”
“Then it’s lucky I have this time to train and get some form of understanding of what I’ll be working with.” Nomin had fallen into step next to Grathgar, though had to skip forward every now and then just to keep up with his longer gait. “I don’t expect to use a gunblade immediately -- certainly not in the current short term. I’ll likely still be using a bow, or my red magic in order to aid and assist where I can. But at least having this training under my belt should I ever need to employ it in the future will be handy.”
The curl of a smirk grew on Grathgar’s lips as he and Nomin approached the supply tent. There were brief greetings made to those that were manning it, and Grathgar had explained briefly the situation as to their visit. The person that had been there nodded with some level of enthusiasm to getting to help with outfitting the Warrior of Light with something more than just light leathers and reinforced cloth.
With a little bit of aid into the armor and getting them secured, it took Nomin and the others a good chunk of a bell to ensure that each piece fit snugly and just right so that there were no mishaps due to misshapen pieces fit for a larger or smaller frame. Of course, it also turned out that Grathgar had not been exaggerating in the slightest when it came to the weight of the armor that now rested upon Nomin.
As it stood, the cloth had been reinforced underneath with chain, and the plating on her torso needed to be fitted with some padding underneath so as not to chafe. There were steel gauntlets underneath the sleeves of her coat, and steel pauldrons that sat upon her shoulders. Her neck had been covered up with tempered leather and thick steel to keep it protected. Perhaps the only truly obvious pieces of armor were the leather and steel boots that crawled all the way up to her thighs.
On the surface, the new suit that adorned Nomin had not looked too different from what she might have seen Thancred normally wear. He seemed to have no difficulty at all in wearing his coat and armor pieces along with fighting with whatever techniques he acquired from his own gunblade trainer. He had made it look all so easy…but then again, with how it seemed the First’s passage of time before Nomin had been pulled to it had gone…it was unsurprising that he had all that time to train and temper himself further.
“Aye, there ye go, lass… Lookin’ fit fer runnin’ on the front lines o’ Bozja, ye are…” Grathgar said, looking over Nomin and folding his arms back over his chest with a contented look on his face. “Now…we should go ahead an’ get ye trained up with that blade of yers. Jus’ be mindful of the aether charges within, an ye’ll be golden. Six total -- don’t forget.”
Nodding, Nomin took up the blade from where she had rested it. It was certainly a little more cumbersome with the added weight upon her person, though she walked back toward the training dummies with Grathgar close behind. Taking in a breath, Nomin thought of the different techniques that she had been shown.
Locking her attention upon the one striking dummy, Nomin braced herself before she charged forward and swung the blade. She pulled the trigger on the blade, only to have it glance off of the dummy’s surface with a pitiful ‘click’...and then a series of other, equally pitiful ‘click, click, clicks.’
“What the…” Nomin started, pulling the trigger again. Even if it was just a training blade, something should have happened.
“Ye did make sure to put some aether charges in there, aye?” Grathgar asked, amusement evident in his tone.
Nomin had felt that rising sense of embarrassment however, and she immediately went to check the six-round cylinder.
It had indeed been quite bereft of any rounds.

How I write my character letters!
So, I uh, been struggling with coming up with ideas for letters and thought I would go into depth on my works. If you have any suggestions for letters feel free to leave them in the ask box!!
Now, moving onto the topic at hand, how do I write my character letters? Well, it’s formed into six simple steps. Or at least simple for me, everyone has different processes after all.
Tumblr media
Step 1: Prep!
Which characters am I confident in doing and who am I interested in? I ask myself those questions and go from there. I like to make a list of characters I will and won’t write for as I go through each series. For example, with Twisted Wonderland I’m comfortable writing for any of the characters. However, in cases like Haikyuu. Characters like Kageyama or Kenma is okay, but I struggle with Kita and Kuroo. I usually write for characters where I’m pretty familiar with the media.
Step 2: Research!
If it has the character in the media then I watch, read, or even just look at it if it's art. This helps me form an idea of what the character is like. Since, I usually write for characters I’ve already seen, it’s like revisiting parts of who the character is and why they act that way.
I also use this as a time to make sure I come to a conclusion as to what is canon and what is not. It’s important to be able to distinguish what is the fan view and what is canon. I don’t normally struggle with this, but I do like to keep this in the back of my mind.
Step 3: Character analysis
I think this step is pretty self explanatory. I usually write out my thoughts on the character or sometimes I’ll even talk it out with someone else. Whatever it is I’m getting my mind to focus on the character and decide how they move.
On my personal blog @2-lines-and-a-circle I divide certain characters into different chocolate flavors which helps me. I find it easier to categorize each character before writing them. For instance, I would classify Jade Leech from Twisted Wonderland as a mint chocolate because he’s refreshing.
Once I’ve established my own thoughts on the character, I take a look at character analysis done by other people. This is to get more thoughts onto the character as it’s important to have different views on the character. Especially since I might miss what someone else has pointed out.
Step 4: Break!!
I don’t like to go straight into writing after I’ve done all that because I’m usually burnt out. I just take a break for about a day to clean my thoughts.
Step 5: Quick re-watch!
The moment right before I start writing I watch or read something of the character. This is to just refresh my mind on who the character is. I also find it helpful to determine the speech pattern if it’s still fresh on my mind.
Step 6: Plan and write!
I write down an idea and flow with that one as I write the letter out. Once the rough draft is finished, I edit it and match it better to the character. I usually re-read the letter several times and question if this is accurate to the character. Most of the time it’s not and I have to do revisions. After all that editing is done, I’m finished and ready to post!
So, um, yeah that’s how I write the character letters! I plan on going more into depth for some of the previous letters I’ve done. Why? Because I think it would be nice to revisit the letters and talk about the ideas behind each one.

22 answers for a fanfic 2022
Thanks to @curator-on-ao3 for providing this template and @emilie786 for encouraging me to fill it out!
1. fandoms you wrote for this year
Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Enterprise, Star Trek: Prodigy, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Star Trek: Voyager
2. favorite fic you wrote this year
And Still, The Sea is Salt - I’m really proud of this one. I spent a lot of time refining it and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. Also I’m obsessed with the poem I took the titles from and how well the poem aligned with the story I wanted to tell!
3. favorite fic you read this year
I honestly can’t pick a favorite! I read so many and the vast majority were absolutely incredible!!!
4. favorite opening line/scene you wrote this year
My most recent fic, Parent-Teacher Association, has probably one of my favorite opening scenes I’ve ever written:
Trip Tucker considered himself a blessed man; he had a wonderful wife that he shared a deep love with, a comfortable house in a nice neighborhood, and two incredible children he would do just about anything for.
He’d suffered a lot of hardship to get here. He’d seen loss, he’d seen death, he’d seen evil.
All of this was to say that, right then and there, Trip Tucker was pretty sure he was looking evil right in its big, ugly eyes once more.
“Dear, you’re staring.” T’Pol’s even, soothing voice broke him out of his trance, though he didn’t take his eyes off of Evil Incarnate herself: Mrs. Olivia Shelley.
She was head of the PTA, head of the fundraising committee for the soccer team, and the mother of Jameson Shelley, who had pushed and teased his eldest child, Elizabeth, a little too much for Trip’s liking.
Is it an earth shattering opening? Nah. Did I giggle a lot while writing it because PTA Dad Trip Tucker amuses me? Absolutely.
5. favorite ending line/scene you wrote this year
And Still, The Sea is Salt ended with a scene/line that I fermented in my head for a really long time and really liked:
Before grief can really take over La’An’s mind, however, Andy’s dark ponytail bobs enthusiastically through the kitchen as she starts explaining the ins and outs of her new assignment and the animals she hopes to encounter. La’An smiles and takes a seat as she watches Andy pull a dish of strawberries, big enough to share, from the fridge, as well as the ingredients needed to grill habanero burgers.
Something in La’An’s soul warms, watching Andy’s deft movements and twinkling, blue eyes.
And she thinks to herself that, maybe, people are never really gone.
6. a trope you wrote this year
Uh, babies. I write a lot of babyfic. I also really like Established Relationship, Family Fluff, and Found Family.
7. pairings you wrote this year
Janeway/Chakotay, Pike/Una, and Trip/T’Pol
8. a fic regret from this year
I have some fics I started with concepts I’m obsessed with that I ultimately abandoned because it wasn’t turning out the way I wanted. I hope to revisit some of them one day, but for now they haunt me from my wips folder.
9. a song that helped you write
I had a few songs that gave me bits of inspiration throughout the year, but, honestly, the poem “Stars, I have seen them fall” by A.E. Houseman was my biggest inspiration this year. Which is really unusual because I’m not typically super into poetry.
10. total number of fics you posted
11!
11. total number of words you posted
36,620
12. most popular fic written this year
By hits, it was Loopholes. By kudos, it was I’ll Always Be Around, Wherever Life Takes You.
13. least popular fic written this year
By hits and kudos: Parent-Teacher Association. Which makes sense because I published it less than a week ago lol.
14. longest completed fic you posted this year
And Still, The Sea is Salt has 9,455 words. It’s my third longest fic of all time!
15. shortest completed fic you posted this year
The Plan has 323 words. My shortest fic of all time!
16. favorite character to write about this year
It’s a tie between Una Chin-Riley, Chris Pike, and Trip Tucker. I had so much fun writing these characters and exploring their voices and movements in fiction.
17. a fic you didn’t expect to write
Honestly, my Prodigy fic, Echoes off of Cave Walls, wasn’t something I thought I was going to write! I wasn’t planning to write any fic for that show but inspiration struck!
18. most memorable comment/review
I honestly can’t pick one that is the most memorable because I hoard comments on my fics away to read for later when I need a seretonin boost like Gollum with the ring of power. That said, reactions to Chapter 3 of And Still, The Sea is Salt were hilarious and I reread those a lot because they make me laugh.
19. trends you noticed in your writing this year
I think I tried a lot of new things this year with my writing. I tried co-writing for the first time (shout out to @emilie786 for writing 3 fics with me in 4 days this July. That was so fun!). I got back into writing longer fics a bit. I broke out of my serial fluff writing to do some angst. I tried writing in a different tense and really enjoyed it. I feel like I let myself write more humor and kind of established a comedic beat I really enjoy. It was a fun year for trying new things.
That said, I also wrote a lot of baby fic because that’s what I do and I like it 😉.
20. fics you wanted to write but didn’t
Oh boy, the list is long, and there are some I don’t wanna talk about quite yet because I’m not quittin’ on em yet but here are some that I attempted and never finished:
- Star Trek Voyager fic taking place after Endgame where Voyager gets a refit and utilizes the holographic emitters placed around the ship to reveal that Voyager is, and has always been, sentient. The plan was for Voyager to spend a lot of time talking with Kathryn to help ease a lot of the guilt Kathryn feels about her actions in the DQ.
- Chris and Una go on a horseback riding date complete with swing dancing, bonfires, and kissing. (It was intended as a sequel to Ex Equis, Scientia, but I tried really hard to write it and it never felt quite right to me. Might try it again later idk.)
- I had some vague ideas about more stories in the Aftermath AU, but I never got around to writing them because I got Pikeuna brainrot over the summer and Brain didn’t wanna write J/C lol.
21. something you want to write next year
I don’t have a lot of solid plans because I am at the whim of my current hyperfixations BUT I think I’ll probably write more Pikeuna after SNW season 2 begins and I hope to add on to the Trip/T’Pol AU I started in the PTA fic. @emilie786 and I have also been throwing around some ideas I’m excited about so we might cook something up as well 😉.
22. an idea from one of your fics that you want people to think about!
In my story, And Still, The Sea is Salt, I really thought a lot about what legacy really can look like; sometimes our legacy isn’t an empire, or a scholarship program, or a scientific discovery - sometimes simply being ourselves is enough to impact people around us in little ways that allows us to live on after we are gone. Every day we interact with so many people, and each of those interactions has the potential to leave an impact, whether we’ve known that person for 2 seconds or 2 decades. I think there’s something beautiful about being able to have a legacy built on strawberries and hot sauce and kindness.

what are your favorite batman centric comics that you think really explores and accurately portrays all sides of his psyche? or just personal favs
Hello! Thank you for the ask, this was a great opportunity to revisit my favorite Bruce comics. I’m also really sorry for how long it took me to answer -- but real life has been kicking my ass lately.
And also, I uh... fell down a hyperfixation hole for like 3 days straight. I want you to know that right now, I am staring at a 5k Word document containing my faves and what ended up a full blown review for each of them, and I’m not even done listing. However, I realized I might be slightly insane, so I took a deep breath and realized that answering a simple ask with the longest post of all time is not the best idea. Hell, if there’s any interest for it, perhaps I’ll post my thoughts on each of the comics and extra ones I didn’t end up including in separate posts, make a Batman comics review series or something.
But without further ado, here are some of my personal favorites when it comes to Bruce-centric comics. It was hard to choose. There’s comics I like only for some specific parts, there’s classics everyone would tell you to read, there’s stories I feel had great potential; but as a criterion, I went with “Do I own/want to own this comic in real life? If answer is yes, put it on the list.” Plenty of these have flaws I will be the first to acknowledge, but they’re comics that have had an impact on me or that I find myself thinking of when it comes to Bruce’s character, so. Here it goes.
🦇 Batman: Ego and Other Tails (2007)
🦇 Batman: Arkham Asylum - A Serious House on a Serious Earth (1989)
🦇 Batman: R.I.P (2008)
🦇 Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader (2009)
🦇 Batman: Hush (2005)
🦇 Batman: Bruce Wayne, Murderer? (2002)
🦇 Batman: Bruce Wayne, Fugitive (2003)
🦇 Batman: Venom (1991)
🦇 Batman: The Killing Joke (1988)
🦇 JLA: Tower of Babel (2001)
🦇 Superman/Batman: Super/Bat (2008)
🦇 Batman: Court of Owls (2011)
🦇 Batman: Death of the Family (2013)
🦇 Batman: Endgame (2015)
🦇 The Batman Who Laughs (2019)
🦇 Batman: I Am Suicide (2017)
🦇 Batman: Night of the Monster Men (2017)
🦇 Batman: Cold Days (2018)
🦇 Batman: Knightmares (2019)
🦇 Batman: Detective Comics: Mythology (2019)
Small note though: this isn’t an actual comic primer for Bruce’s character in comics. I’d answer with a different list for “essential comics for Bruce Wayne’s character”, because I’d add all stories that are relevant for the sake of objectivity and thoroughness. But you’ve asked about Batman-centric comics that I think delve into his psyche, and that I personally favor; so that’s what this list has been. I do hope you check these out, and if you do, hope you enjoy them!

Gilbert Revisits the Diary
~~~~
The video starts once again, this time Gilbert is eleven years old. His hair is longer and he’s wearing a school uniform shirt, a navy blue polo long sleeved one. He smiles at the camera. “Hi.” He sits back in his chair.
“I found my old video journal from the school assignment and thought it would be fun to do another,” he explains, “I don’t really know what to talk about though.” He leans with his head resting on top of his hands on his desk.
“Ludwig, my little brother, is doing good,” Gilbert smiles. “He just turned five!” He holds up a picture of himself and Ludwig. “He likes preschool and he has a few friends. He’s so serious! And Grandfather still won’t let us go birdwatching! I told him that I’ll keep Lutz safe because I’m an awesome older brother, but he says that we aren’t old enough.”
He sighs and sets the photograph down, he leans back in his chair. “I’m doing well in school, I have a few friends too! Erzsébet’s fun! He likes to play knights with me because he’s awesome too! He also listens and knows that my name’s actually Gilbert and not that other one that everyone else uses!” Gilbert grins, “I like having a friend.”
The young boy grabs a hair tie and pulls his longer hair back into a ponytail to get it off his shoulders, “there’s still a lot of people that I don’t like very much though. Like Ivan, he’s weird. Tolys is nice but he doesn’t like me very much because he says I’m too loud,” he frowns. “I can’t wait until there’s more people in my class because everyone in mine right now is kind of a loser except for Erzsébet. And Mathias. He’s pretty awesome too. He’s always hanging out with Lukas though and Lukas is no fun to be around.”
Gilbert leans forward again and stares into the camera, “the camera’s nice to talk to though. Grandfather still buys me journals, but I like this too! It’s like talking to people but it doesn’t make weird faces or make fun of you like people do!”
After a second he moves away from the camera and sits back down, “I’m still trying to convince Grandfather to let me get a bird. I think I want a canary. He says that I’m not old enough for a bird though, which is lame!”
He frowns and runs his fingers through his ponytail, “life is pretty awesome though. I think when Lutz gets older I’m going to convince him to keep a journal because they’re really nice and helpful. I write the details of every single day in it! Which makes me productive I think.” Gilbert smiles, “Grandfather also said that we might go to the bookstore later this week. Which is good because I really want to see if there’s a new book by my favorite author and also see if I can get another fairytale book for me to read to Lutz. His favorite story is Rapunzel because he likes how the prince and Rapunzel find each other again at the end. I like it because it magically heals the prince’s eyes at the end. My teacher told Grandfather that I might have to get glasses because I can’t read the board very well. I don’t want glasses though because I’ll look like an un-awesome nerd. I want to get contacts because you can get them in different colors and then maybe I can get some blue or brown ones so my eyes don’t look weird.”
He takes his hands out of his hair and glances at something out of the camera’s view and sighs, “it’s getting kinda late. I think I’ll try to make these more often though! Uh, how do I end these? Like a letter? Sincerely, Gilbert Beilschmidt!” He smiles again at the camera before turning it off.
