Anonymous: Hey Cody! Hope all is well. I’m a sucker for Mama Donna (because she would be such a sweet and supportive Mama) so I would like to request a newborn Y/N after quite a hard and complex birth. Y/N is struggling a bit and obv Mama Donna is super worried (and tired) and her fierce Italian side shows (maybe as protectiveness even towards Mother Miranda or Alcina?). It would be cute if it could end with Mama Donna breastfeeding Y/N and being emotional and relieved because this is all she's ever wanted. I can imagine that writing a newborn Y/N can be quite complex but I'm sure you'll do great as I love your writing! Thank you so much
So cute! Let’s get into it!
Donna was so ecstatic when she found out she was going to have you. She had always wanted to be a mom. You were her dream come true.
Donna read tons of books for new moms. She learns lots of things, but her first takeaway is that babies can start to recognize voices before they’re born. So, she begins talking to you almost nonstop as she goes about her daily routine. She just loves you so much and wants to convey that.
Later on into her pregnancy, Donna’s blood pressure is always high which puts Miranda on alert.
Miranda all but moves into Beneviento Manor to take care of her daughter. (She probably actually would have if Alcina didn’t insist on visiting Donna so much too).
Donna goes into labor very early with you. She is completely terrified that something bad is going to happen to her little baby.
Miranda speeds over as soon as Donna calls her. At first everything seems to be going fine, but… She quickly enlists Alcina’s help when the situation becomes rather serious.
It feels like Donna has been in labor for days, but eventually, you are born.
Donna cries happy tears as she holds you for the first time. You are very little, but just as precious as Donna had imagined.
Miranda and Alcina weep when they see you as well.
Miranda can’t believe she has a grandchild now.
However, you are very fussy. Miranda suspects that you might have colic. You refuse to eat or fall asleep for the next few hours after you are born… Which means Donna also doesn’t sleep. You cry so hard, it’s heartbreaking for your Mama.
Miranda and Alcina try to take turns staying up with you so that Donna can take a nap, but she always declines their offers. She will simply not sleep if you are upset or sick. That is not an option for her.
After multiple attempts to persuade Donna to get some rest, she snaps at the two women in her exhaustion. “Y/N is MY baby! Not yours! I’m their mother, I know what’s best!” She hisses.
Miranda knows Donna is just tired, so she suggests that Alcina and her leave and give the two of you some privacy. She wants Donna to feel safe.
Donna feels horrible for the way she just spoke to Miranda and Alcina after all they’ve done for her, but she silently nods her head at Miranda’s offer. You and her need to decompress.
After you and Donna are left by yourselves, she gently talks to you as she rocks you softly. “Hello, tesoro.” She says with a smile. You’re so adorable.
The quiet atmosphere is calming. There are no overlapping conversations anymore. Something is familiar about this voice, but you’re not quite sure why. Who is this woman? Your crying lessens as the gentle person holding you speaks once again.
“You’re so sweet, Y/N.” She whispers and kisses your head.
Wow. Whoever this is, she’s good. Your little eyes pop open to try and find out more about the owner of this lovely voice. You are quite surprised by what you see. She’s… Beautiful. She is both recognizable and a stranger.
Donna gasps as she sees you looking at her. “Hi there, sweetheart.” She coos at you and kisses you once more.
This is nice, but… Hmm… You need more information. What will she do if you start crying again? You begin to fuss and she softly pats your back as she continues to rock you steadily. She smiles at you.
“You must be starving, tesoro.” Donna says. She carefully repositions you so that she can breastfeed you.
What’s happening now? Something new? She is completely magnetic. She has your full attention.
“There we are.” Donna sighs in relief as she frees her aching breasts from her dress. She is so excited to try and feed you again. You were not having it earlier when she first attempted it. She easily places her nipple into your mouth and coaxes you to drink by running her soft finger against your cheek.
Your eyes become wide. This was totally unexpected, but… Maybe this will help the hunger pangs in your belly? You feel a need to latch on and suckle so you give it a try… Oh yeah. This feels good. It’s very soothing. Not long after you begin, though… Something really tasty hits your tongue. Milk? This is great! It’s just what you need!
Donna softly cries as you suckle and begin to drink. She’s finally feeding you. This is all she’s ever wanted.
You suckle harder as you realize what you’re supposed to do. Alright, here are your findings so far on the person holding you: She’s very pretty, she’s kind… And she can make food. She’s perfect. 10/10 would recommend.
Donna begins gingerly singing to you as she watches you eat. She can’t believe you’re finally here. She loves you so much.
You, on the other hand, are once again blown away by this lovely woman. She can sing too?! In the span of only a couple moments, she has become the center of your universe.
“Mama loves you, Y/N.” She tells you.
Oh… Mama. That’s what you should call her. It suits her very well, in your opinion. You love her too. More than anything.
Donna gently offers her finger for you to grab.
You eagerly reach out with your tiny hand and squeeze it. You hope she can tell that you’re trying to say you love her back.
The tickled laugh that leaves her mouth lets you know you’ve succeeded. You feel your eyes growing heavy and you begin to fall asleep as she holds you.
Mama… She’s everything.

You could not wait to get off this god-forsaken train, you had just a few more stops until you could escape the havoc. You were exhausted from being on high alert the whole time; not only did you have yourself to look after, but you also had your two-year-old daughter to protect.
Anxiously sitting in the quiet car with your baby glued to your chest, cradling her head as you whispered lullabies into her tiny ears.
A couple of guys walk towards you and you instantly think the worst. Holding your hand out as a way to back them off. “No-please. I don’t want any trouble.” You mumble, gripping tighter on your daughter.
“No no, we don’t want to hurt you.” The larger guy said sweetly.
Opening your eyes, flickering your attention towards the two men. Turning your attention to the moustached man behind with an irritated expression. “It looks like he does.” You meekly say, nodding at him.
“Don’t worry about him, he always looks like that. We want to help you, it’s not safe on here, especially for your daughter.” The guy said with a sincere smile.
“Why would you want to help me?” You questioned.
“Wasn’t my idea.” He grins, knocking his friend in the side.
“Shut up, you twat.” The moustached man grits.
“But seriously, we need to get you off by the next stop, everything is about to go tits up.” Extending a hand to escort you off.
“What’s your names, first?” You ask.
“I’m Tangerine, he’s Lemon.”
“Like the fruits?” You question, holding back a smile.
“Oh bloody hell it’s not important-“
“Shut up, bruv.” Lemon interrupts, punching his friend in the shoulder. “Miss, we just want to make sure you’re safe.”
For some bizarre reason, you felt as though you could trust them because your instincts were never wrong. Reaching between your feet to pick up your bag and slinging it onto your forearm, shimmying your daughter to sit on your hip.
“My brother will take that.” Lemon says, nodding to your bag.
“No, it’s okay.” You brush them off while you struggled to balance the weight.
Instead Tangerine snatches it, gripping it in his hands as he leads the four of you.
“Don’t mind him.” Lemon whispers as he gestures for you to walk first.
Following behind the broody guy, he escorts you off the train as you brushed a comforting hand down your daughter's back. Making your way to the platform, you look between confused. What now?
“One sec.” Lemon says, holding his index finger up. “Come on.” Dragging his brother to the side.
You felt so awkward standing there, overhearing their discussion about what to do with you. You were tempted to turn around and walk, but you really didn’t have anywhere to go.
The brothers part from their conversation and stare at you, each of their faces displaying a different emotion.
“Do you have anywhere to go, love?” Tangerine asked, looking between you and your daughter who was sleeping soundly against your chest.
Shaking your head no, a pained smile across your lips.
Lemon loudly whispers into his brother's ear “I really think we should offer.”
Tangerine looks away and sighs, putting his hands in his trouser pockets. “Fine.”
“We have a couple of spare rooms back at our estate… we’d be happy to have you.” Lemon says with a smile.
“I- uh- I don’t know… I don’t want to be a bother.”
“You won’t.”
//
Everything seemed to be going well so far, you were sitting in their private jet on your way to their home in the countryside. You had managed to get some information out of Lemon. You felt as though you could finally relax.
“What’s her name?” Lemon asks from the seats next to you.
“It’s Mandy.” You say in a baby voice, blowing raspberries on her cheek. “Mandarin for long, because they’re lucky to me.” Smiling sweetly at your baby.
Out of the corner of your eye, you see Tangerine warmly staring at you, but when you meet his gaze his eyes snap away to look at an upside-down fashion magazine.
“That’s real cute.” Lemon makes a playful face at Mandy. “Does she like tv? Because we can put some on?”
“She actually loves Thomas the tank engine, I don’t suppose you have that?”
“Oh bloody hell.” Tangerine snickers to himself from the other end of the plane. “He loves Thomas.” Walking over and taking a seat to join the three of you.
“You do?”
“Mhmm.” Lemon excitedly hummed, eyes lit up huge. “I’ll put it on now.”
Once again, you catch Tangerine gazing at you, but you pay him no mind. Bouncing Mandy over your knee as she giggled at the trains on the little screen.
//
You have been at their house for a few days now and you started to feel settled, you didn’t want to overstay your welcome but it just felt so nice to feel cared for. They welcomed you as one of their own and gave you everything you could ever need.
You and Lemon were starting to build somewhat of a friendship, while Tangerine was a tough nut to crack, more often than not he’d be standoffish. You would notice the way he’d try to make Mandy laugh or the occasional glances at you, but other than that he tried to keep his distance.
//
Over the last few weeks, you could feel him warming up to you more and more. It felt as if he was glad you both were there.
Earlier on today he took you and Mandy to a baby store and told you to get as much as you could. He held Mandy as you stocked your trolley. At first, you felt awful for spending his money, but he constantly reassured you that it was no problem.
So now back at their house, you were sorting your room while one of the brothers babysat Mandy. You were assembling a new cot when you noticed how eerily quiet the house was.
You make your way into the living room, stopping in the doorway as you look around the room. Mandy was curled up asleep on Tan’s chest, cuddling into him as his hands brushed over her hair to soothe her. You felt like melting. It was such a sweet sight.
You wanted to join them but you didn’t want to interrupt. He noticed you lurking in the hallway and patted the spare seat next to him, urging you to sit with them. So you do. Settling yourself on the sofa to enjoy the peaceful silence in the room. He reaches an arm around you, pulling you into him. At first, you hesitated, but within moments you fell into his embrace, snuggling into him while the fireplace crackled.
//
A couple of months had passed since you joined the twins, you were only meant to stay for a few weeks- only until you got back on your feet, but they practically begged you to stay and you couldn’t quite pass on the opportunity. In return you did as much as you could to help around the house, feeling like you owed them.
You and Tangerine have got really close recently like he dropped all of his barriers to be around you. You didn’t realise just how sweet and considerate he was until you saw him with Mandy. He’d play with her and spoil her constantly, and you could see how happy he makes her- it almost made you a little jealous. The way she’d giggle and squeal around him made you swoon and fall for him impossibly harder.
Neither of you knew, but you were madly in love with one another. It was one of those beautiful classic ‘saving each other’ stories; he saved you by giving you a place to live, and you saved him by entering his life. He had become the man you always wanted and the kind of father you wanted for your daughter. Not only did you gain a place to stay, but you also attained your own little perfect family.

Just want to make a list of Newts overall symptoms and behaviour changes since I really did not think he was sick at first. And seeing this list might help someone catch their bird’s illness sooner!
No major weight loss but the weight would stay stable regardless of how much he ate. He dropped a tiny bit of weight but nothing that would be noted as concerning, he stayed within his healthy weight range and we were still in the middle of getting him on a diet to bring him down to his healthy weight so it didn’t strike me as odd.
Fluctuating appetite, he continuously did want to eat but some days he would eat 7x his regular amount of pellets. He didn’t outright lose or decrease appetite which is what they normally tell you to look for. (Still unsure if this is a symptom of infection or a result of grief) he got a little picky about his vegetables (he normally gobbles up everything in sight) wanting to eat only certain ones or not eat many veggies at all
Dry sneezes. No discharge. No redness or inflammation in his nose or throat. No respiratory sounds/ wheezing/ etc. what was weird was that he was sneezing more often. Doing a couple sneezes after flying or being sneezy first thing in the morning (sneezes would stop/ decrease by midday usually). The amount of sneeze increase wasn’t always obvious either, it would be like 4 sneezes for a day when he may regularly do 1, it was just the context of the sneeze that didn’t make sense (not preening/ bathing/ scratching that would normally trigger a sneeze)
The vet’s physical exam showed nothing abnormal- healthy lungs, nose and throat. The only thing that was noted was that he had slightly more saliva production but not at any amount that would be typically indicative of illness
Completely inconsistent symptoms. The sneezing would be bad one day and then totally gone the next. Bad in the morning and fine by evening. We would change something and it would seem to alleviate the symptoms then he would start back up the next day. He would be sneezy for a week then have a whole week of seeming normal again before another week of sneezing. The only consistent factor was that morning time always had the most sneezes for that day or the only big burst.
Still completely normal as far as activity goes. Even while sneezing he would appear perky and alert. Still chewing on toys, flying, being rambunctious, preening, bathing, his overall demeanour never changed.
Droppings were all healthy and normal. Nothing discoloured or runny, completely normal. Always.
Avoided cued vocalizations. Even with high value treats he wouldn’t want to say his cued words (good boy, etc). When he did say them they were very whispered. At the time I thought this was related to losing Mia/ not wanting to be vocal since he was depressed but now I’m thinking his throat must have been sore/ congested.
No real excessive scratching or face rubbing, he would just scratch his nose after a sneeze which isn’t totally uncommon to begin with
And a video of the sneeze fit at it’s worst, he would sneeze like this just once at the start of the week only in the morning. By the end of the day it would just be bursts of 1-2 sneezes following flight, every subsequent day would just have weirdly placed sneezes, these big sneeze fits in the video only happened twice during the entire symptomatic period and always right at the start of the next weird sneezy week cycle.
Because of how inconsistent it was, how dry the sneezes were, and all of this following the loss of Mia and start of bird room construction I assumed that it was either related to his allergies (which had an identical sneeze fit), or an airborne contaminant and the behaviour/ diet changes were related to grief.
After exhausting every option at home without any consistent improvements we hit up the vet and he was placed on a broad antibiotic just to play it safe. Within 24 hours the sneezing stopped entirely. Three full days in now with 0 symptoms and him putting on weight as he normally would again.
If you’ve got any questions feel free to ask them, anything to help others be able to recognize illness that doesn’t fit the stereotypical “sick” symptom list!

The pain of surviving
Warnings: angst, death, gore/ blood, cannibalism, dark themes, fucked up shit.
Set in time of the terminus.
It was fair to say life was shit. Everyone was starving- thirsty… exhausted.
Everyone had gotten over the fact that there was no cure for this virus. But you kept a positive outlook on life trying your best to cheer everyone up but that was incredibly difficult to do so. Everyone had given up. There really was no worth to life anymore. Everyone simply lived for no other reason than to survive. Survive the dark cruel world.
You weren’t afraid of the dead. But you were afraid of real living people. You had learnt that people are far more harmful than walkers. Living breathing people were more likely to kill mercilessly and you knew that. Rick lead the group down the train track, footsteps trudging against the stodgy ground. You slowly looked towards Daryl studying his expression- his jaw was clenched as he breathed heavily yet softly. He looked somewhat fearful for once in his life. You could tell easily how tired and hungry he was. He seemed to be silently fighting his inner demons. He had lost Merle and as much as he tried to hide the pain little cracks of pain shone throughout his expression every now and then “you okay? you can talk to-“ but before you could finish your sentence a gruff “I’m fine” left his lips. He always shut out everyone’s concerns especially yours. He didn’t like opening up to anyone as he hated being the slightest bit vulnerable especially in tough circumstances.
You remained silent continuing to walk along the tracks as a soft sigh left your lips. No one really talked, everyone stayed quiet- on high alert. “We’ve gotta find a shelter, somewhere safe. I don’t like the look of those clouds” rick murmured to no one in particular. Your body suddenly froze, your feet stopping in their tracks as a twig snapping just to the right of you grabbed your attention. You scanned the tree line and as you stared you caught onto slight movement. Daryl caught onto your silence and he paused looking back at you “we’ve got to keep moving, cmon” he said but slowly he followed your eye-line as he let out a breath “holy shit…” he whispered staring at the walkers. It wasn’t just one, it was a whole group of them, far too many for the group to handle “we’ve got to go.” Daryl spoke quickly grabbing a hold of your hand as he dragged you to the front, he wouldn’t let you get hurt. If you got hurt he wouldn’t ever be able to forgive himself. “Stay close to each other, run, there should be somewhere safe. Surely.” rick ordered making sure Carl stayed close by. He had already lost most of his family he couldn’t lose Carl as well.
The wind blew past everyone, the air being cold. The light that was there before had disappeared into nothingness, you using your instincts to try and figure out the best way to go. The path was dirty and muddy making it practically impossible to run on. Droplets of rain fell onto the top of your head, making the ground more muddy but you ignored that. Mother Nature was the least of any of your worries. “There’s a light up there” daryl pointed out and you looked towards where he was looking noticing that there was in fact a light, hopefully safety. “Keep moving cmon!” Rick ordered a lot of stress visible on his face. He had looked after the group since day one and he still did it wonderfully but you knew he put too much pressure on himself. It was clear.
~
The apparent safety had turned into bullshit. Another group had stumbled upon all of you and started a scene for no reason, gunfire started and you were told to run and so you did. Along with most of the others…
You panted as you ran, your legs ached from how long you had been running but as you glanced over your shoulder to see the rest of the group following after you, you nearly tripped up seeing no one behind you. You were alone. All alone. You could’ve sworn they were right behind you but they simply weren’t “fuck… fuck” you breathed out trying to calm down. You couldn’t do anything. Yelling for them would only cause more problems for you and so with a deep breath you took off running once again. Everything would be okay, right?
Night had turned into day pretty quickly, the sun slowly breaking through the clouds as it shone down at you making you squint. Being without a group was disorientating, you had gotten so used to them that you completely forgot that their safety blinded you. Being with people who knew how to protect everyone… it made you forget what being alone felt like. It was alien. A weird feeling. You disliked it. Every sound made you tense and you just hoped that no group of walkers would stumble upon you. As you continued walking a large sign came into view. A soft breath left your lips as you studied it reading the words carefully
Sanctuary
For all
Community
For all
Those who arrive
Survive
Underneath the words was what seemed like a trail to follow… no matter where anyone came from they’d all find the sanctuary somehow. “Unlikely,” you murmured to yourself knowing there was most likely a catch- nowadays there was a catch to everything. ‘TERMINUS’ you read the 8 letter word over and over again. Something felt weird about it, probably the fact that you knew it would most likely be overrun by the dead already. You let out a soft sigh knowing it was your best bet, hopefully the group were smart enough to realise you’d go to the sanctuary as well.
Your eyes slowly trailed to a stick laying on the ground beside the post that the sign was pinned to. You knelt down picking the stick up as you dug it into some mud before walking over to the small shed just behind it as you wrote in big bold letters ‘I’ll be at terminus’ signing it off with your name before dropping the stick down onto the floor. “Terminus here I come” you whispered to yourself as you began walking once again, your feet burned with each and every step but you just had to pray and hope that this sanctuary would actually be a safe place and not some sort of trap.
~~~~~
A large fence came into view as you stopped walking letting out a shaky sigh, this better be good. You found yourself hoping that Daryl and the others would come sooner rather than later. If this was some fucked up joke then you’d be defenceless. “Hold up” a sudden voice ordered and you froze locking eyes with a man- he had curly hair and wore a beanie, he looked clean. Cleaner than anyone you had seen in a long while. Maybe this was a safe place? As he pointed the gun at you, held your hands up in surrender “I- I mean no harm… I saw the sign…” you spoke carefully as the man seemingly sized you up visibly trying to figure you out.
“Gareth, there’s this girl here. Probably here for sanctuary” the man spoke and you looked at him as if he were crazy, was he talking to someone else or to himself? And that’s when you heard a slight crackle of a radio noticing a walkie talkie hooked onto his pants pocket. “Alright send her in.” Another voice replied and you watched as he lowered his gun “come on in.” He said and you got closer to the fence before hooking your fingers through the metal holes as you easily climbed over the fence. “Uh thanks for not shooting me… I guess.” You said and he only seemed to hum at your words “can’t trust anyone nowadays. I’m sure you understand…” he said and you stared at him for a few moments before nodding your head “uh, yeah. Sure.” You murmured before sighing “follow me” he said and you remained silent as you followed after him glancing around noticing a few people sat down on chairs eating food. Your stomach grumbled at the sight… gods were you hungry. “Gareth will just talk to you and then he’ll get you some food” the man spoke offering a slight smile and you nodded. “What’s your name?” You asked looking at him and he looked at you, you thought he wasn’t going to answer but a quiet “Scott” fell from his lips and you nodded making sure to remember that name in case he turned on you. You were smart but also a bit naive at times but you liked to think you could handle yourself.
“Hi,” a chirpy looking man spoke as he smiled at you “here for the sanctuary?” He questioned and you nodded “good. You’ve found it” he said and you noticed how he was far too happy and that freaked you out slightly, no one should be this happy inviting a stranger to live with them. “I’m Gareth,” he stuck his hand out towards you “y/n” you responded staring at his hand for a few seconds before grabbing a hold of it giving it a firm shake “I get you’re nervous… everyone else was the same,” he said and you eyed him up “everyone else?” You asked suspiciously “yes, everyone who lives here. They were all the same including myself. Nerves get the best of us sometimes” he explained and you nodded. “Do you have any weapons?” He asked and you glanced down at yourself “just a pocket knife” you said and he stared at you for a few seconds trying to tell whether you were lying “okay- is it okay if Alex searches you?” Gareth asked motioning towards a slightly taller man who smiled at you when your eyes focused on him… this was strange. Too strange for your liking. “Sure” you murmured lifting your hands up as the Alex guy began searching you, patting you down, he pulled out the knife from your pocket holding it in his hand “yep, all clear” Alex confirmed as Gareth nodded “okay, good. Let’s go get you some food. I’m sure you’re starving”
You sat down on one of the chairs beside an older woman, you held the plate in your hand. The food smelt delicious… you were starving. “You look like you’ve been on the road for a long while” Gareth spoke up once again and you nodded “yeah, been walking without any food for…” you tried to remember but the time and dates had just seemingly vanished “I don’t even know to be honest” you murmured with a sad laugh as you looked down at the meat on your plate… it looked a little bit odd but you thought nothing of it as you picked it up biting down onto it, it melted in your mouth as you ate it slowly, fluttering your eyes shut as you let out a breath of relief “finally…” you whispered grateful that they had some sort of real food.
As you continued eating you began looking at everyone, everyone seemed perfectly content. It was like the outside world didn’t even exist. The meat was slightly tougher, a weird taste lingering in your mouth but you just shrugged it off. At least you were able to have food. That’s all that really mattered.
~
Days had passed quickly and the more you stayed the more you realised how weird it was getting… it felt off. “Hey Gareth” you said grabbing his attention “can I talk to you?” You asked and he nodded following you to somewhere quiet “what’s up?” He asked and you let out a soft sigh staring at him worriedly
“Whats the catch?”
You asked and he stared at you “catch?” He questioned and you nodded “yeah, what’s going on with this place? I’m not stupid.” You said and soon enough a look you hadn’t seen before formed on his face and he let out a sigh “if I tell you you’re gonna freak out” he said and you stared at him “what? Why? Tell me.” You said watching as you became uncomfortable “fine, but it isn’t my fault if you get yourself killed.” He said and you stared at him “what?” You questioned once again absolutely bewildered “you’re either the butcher or the cattle” he said and you stared at him, blinking a few times “what-“ he cut you off “are you deaf or something? Here, let me dumb it down for you- We. Eat. People” he said calmly a small sick smile on his lips. Your breath hitched slightly and you stumbled back “so I’ve been eating people?” You asked feeling sick and he nodded slightly “but don’t feel bad… we’ve got to survive somehow.” He said and you looked at everyone around you… they didn’t have a reaction none of them- they all seemed to be brainwashed or they simply didn’t give a damn. “You sick freak” you spat out “I told you you’d freak out” he said and you clenched your fists wanting to smack that stupid look off his face “three snipers are currently ready to shoot you. You can either calm down or you get hurt” he said and you suddenly lunged at him but he was far too quick for you wrapping his arm around your throat as he forced you to stop moving “stop being so dramatic” he whispered to you a soft chuckle falling from his lips. He was a sick asshole.
~
You spent the next few days in an isolated train cart. Your knees pulled to your chest your breathing and the high pitched sound forming inside your head being the only thing you could hear. You were terrified. You didn’t want to die… not like this… not by cannibalistic freaks. You heard commotion every day… gunfire, shouts… everything. But you tried not to let your head get to you.
The sound of the door being pulled open grabbed your attention and you squinted as the sun burned your vision. Someone you couldn’t see grabbed you by the collar of your T-shirt yanking you out of the train cart as they shoved you down onto the ground your wrists being tightly cuffed behind your back with zip ties, murmured talking being the only thing you could hear as you were pulled up as someone began dragging you towards a large menacing building. You didn’t like the look of it and as your eyes fluttered shut and reopened then you were knelt in front of some sort of sink that looked like a bathtub, a drain at the end of it and your breath hitched seeing little specs of blood on the metal. You were going to die… you were going to get eaten by these sickos.
Other people were forced down onto their knees beside you as tears of fear welled up in your eyes, the sound of skin being cut filled your ears as you squeezed your eyes shut not daring to look at any blood and as you felt like you were next in line a chorus of groans erupted around the room, screams echoing around and you opened your eyes watching as the men who were going to kill you began getting chewed by walkers, their skin being teared off. You had no way of getting out. The walkers were all around you getting closer and closer, your eyes scanned the area before you saw a knife beside one of the men getting eaten alive, you quickly straightened your posture as you began as quickly as possible rushing to where he was, nearly losing balance a couple of times, you grabbed a hold of the knife twisting it around so you could saw off the zip ties from your wrists- as the tight plastic fell from your wrists you let out a breath of relief attempting to do your ankles but before you could even get close to freeing yourself a walker stumbled over you, lunging at you as you tried to push it off, trying to do everything and anything in your power.
you tightened the grip on the knife swinging your wrist up as you smashed the knife straight into the walkers head watching as it fell on top of you dead, you let out a breath of relief squeezing your eyes shut as you shoved the deadweight off of your body and as you did that, your wrist coming into view you stared in shock and fear at the clear bite on your arm “no…” you stared at the teeth marks on your skin as your world came crashing down around you. You were going to die… you weren’t going to live out your life with Daryl or the group. You felt sickened your heart beating to the point that it could easily jump out of your chest. You had to get the hell out of there. You stood up easily sliding the knife through the tie on your ankles. You rushed out of the building gunfire exploding around you as you took off as fast as you could not wanting to get hurt anymore. You didn’t want to die there.
As you ran faster seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours and your legs eventually gave way, your head throbbing as you collapsed down onto the ground the world around you spinning out of control your vision blurring as tiredness overcame you… just five minutes… just five minutes… and before you could even do anything more you had passed out your body falling limp.
~
Sounds became more clear as your vision began clearing up “she’s bitten” “holy shit” “I should’ve been there to help her, fuck” voices rushed around and you forced your eyes open staring up at the group of figures around you “y/n? Hey… you okay?” Daryl’s voice was panicked as he stared down into your eyes knelt down beside you as tears burnt your vision “Im sorry. I should’ve watched out for myself” you whispered out a soft cry leaving your lips and he immediately shook his head running his fingers through your hair “shhh don’t be silly… you survived alone… you did amazing. I’m so proud of you. You did great” he said softly, the crackle of the fire being gentle but soothing as Daryl held your head on his lap comforting you as best as he possibly could
His fingers delicately stroked against your head noticing how hot you were “she’s burning up…” he whispered and you glanced around seeing the group, their faces solemn- hurt. Rick had blood covering his face, Maggie had dirt all over her. Everyone looked exhausted but mainly concerned for you. “I’m so cold” you whimpered out and Daryl stroked his fingers through your hair shrugging his jacket off as he quickly threw it over you bringing you as much warmth as he possibly could. As the time passed your body became weaker as you struggled to hold your eyes open “it’s okay… it’s okay. You can let go.” He whispered to you pressing little kisses to your forehead and you gazed up into his eyes forcing a gentle smile “I know it’s okay..” you said gently
“I’m ready to go”
Tears visibly welled up in his eyes and he nodded “that’s okay. You can go. I’m right here okay? Right here.” He assured and you fluttered your eyes shut tiredly “daryl…” you whispered softly and he hummed stroking his fingertips along your cheek “yes?” He asked looking down at you “kiss me… I want to be kissed by you.” You whispered. You wanted to experience at least something romantic with him before you die. As he gazed down into your eyes he nodded leaning down as his lips slowly greeted yours, his tears and your own melting between your lips as you lightly ran your fingers through his hair “live on okay? I’ll always be here” you whispered with a weak smile, everyone remaining quiet letting you and Daryl have your moment together and as his lips pressed against yours once again you took your last breath, your eyes sealing shut completely as he gazed down at you tears streaming down his cheeks “y/n? Y/n? Please.. there’s so much i haven’t said yet” he whispered out, he hoped the kiss would cause a miracle but miracles only happened in fairytales…
“She’s gone, daryl.” Rick whispered to him resting his hand on his shoulder and Daryl shook his head “no.. she’s just sleeping.” He whispered denying it all he didn’t want to admit it. He couldn’t lose you. Not yet. Not ever. As the minutes passed Rick slowly knelt down beside him “she’s going to turn. I’ll do it okay?” He asked but Daryl shook his head taking the knife from Rick “no. I’ll do it.” He said calmly as he let out a shaky breath. “Just… just hold her hand for me… please. I want her to know she isn’t alone” he whispered and Rick looked at him upset before nodding as he took your hand into his giving your limp hand a squeeze.
Daryl positioned the tip of the knife against your temple as he squeezed his eyes shut “I’m sorry..” he said gently before shoving the knife straight into the side of your head, a soft broken cry leaving his lips but he tried to conceal it eventually giving up as he collapsed against you grasping onto you tightly the weak sentence “I’m sorry” repeatedly falling from his lips. Life was cruel. He couldn’t live without you but he had to. Rick stayed next to him keeping his hand on his back simply staying there to make sure he didn’t become too overwhelmed. Daryl would struggle with the loss of you… he’d never get over you but someday, somehow- he’d learn to cope.
It's been an exhausting week, I just don't have the energy to split this thing. So have a longer chapter!
I don't think there's anything spoilery in this chapter but you shouldn't be reading this before the previous chapter anyway! 😅
Unrecognisable Part 11
Groggily I woke up, struggling to work out where the hell I was, but after a minute, my memories of the previous 36 hours hit me. Immediately I panicked, realising the bed beside me was empty and jumped out of the bed. Of course, seeing how I was still not quite fully awake, this meant I tripped on the blanket and fell over.
“Fuck, you scared me!” Jake exclaimed from the table on the other side of the room. “Do you normally get up like that?”
“Good morning to you too,” I grumbled as I got myself back up. “No, it’s cool, I’m fine. Thank you for asking.”
“If you had managed to injure yourself getting out of bed, I would have serious doubts about the success of our mission,” he teased.
I grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around myself before sitting down on the bed, “I only tripped because I was worried you had left. Excuse me for being paranoid about that.”
Jake got up out of his chair and came over to sit beside me on the bed, “I won’t. Not until I know you’re safe again.”
“Bzzzzt! Wrong answer! The correct answer was, ‘I'll never leave you again,’” I imitated his angst voice.
He shook his head with a smile, “I, um, took the liberty of taking your clothes to the laundry to wash them.”
“Who knows if they’ll be salvageable?” I sighed.
Jake was too distracted to respond. His eyes had drifted to my neck. He reached for it slowly and gently touched with his fingers.
“Does it hurt?” he asked nervously.
“A bit, still,” I admitted.
“You’re not mad?” he questioned.
“I'm mad that you've been suffering alone for so long without getting help,” I clarified.
Jake looked away, avoiding eye contact with me, “I got us some granola bars. Did you want one?”
“Um, yeah sure. Geez, I can’t remember the last time I ate,” I thought out loud.
Jake reached into his backpack and handed me one. “It’s not...” his hand started trembling.
“Jake, it’s ok,” I placed my hand over his to settle him.
“It’s not the meal we were meant to have together,” he finished.
“No, it’s not,” I took the granola bar and opened the packaging. “It’s a snack, not a meal, so it doesn’t count.”
Jake looked up at me again with a glimmer of hope in his eyes, “It doesn’t count.”
“So, uh, how’s our situation?” I questioned cautiously between bites.
“They are still on high alert for us. We need to stay bunkered down. No leaving the room. I will retrieve our clothes when it is time,” he explained. “About your ex-boyfriend... I caught his IP addressed logged into your email. I've gone ahead and changed all your passwords.”
“What the hell was he in my email for?” I frowned.
Jake sighed, “He may have given someone access to it. Someone like the FBI.”
“Wait, how did you get into my email?” I raised my eyebrow.
Jake grinned, “As if it was a challenge for me.”
“Ok, but you made the new password something easy to remember?” I narrowed my eyes. “Something less than 12 characters that is at least comprehensible?”
Jake paused for a moment, “I can change them again later.”
I giggled, “Please, never change.”
“Oh, MC, I searched through your emails. I couldn’t find any trace of the one you mentioned,” he added. “What can you remember?”
“Ah,” I struggled to recall anything specific that could help him. “It was from an unknown sender and from a hidden IP. It had no subject, just the body, which was a string of characters.”
“And you trusted that?” I swear I saw him sweat dropping.
“I thought it was from you!” I reminded him, poking his arm. “I was always on alert for messages from unknown senders.”
“Hmm, I think I would have been more direct with you so you’d know to trust it,” he thought out loud. “And you decrypted the string?”
“Yeah, the key was my social security number. It gave me GPS coordinates,” I continued.
“How you were never conned before is beyond me,” he chuckled. “I would have made quick work of you if I was targeting you.”
“What do you mean?” I asked out of curiosity.
“Your identity, your bank accounts, anything that could be of a benefit to me would be mine,” as he explained, his eyes went darker. “You'd be lucky if I left you with the clothes on your back.”
“Well,” I shrugged. “You did technically take those too.”
“Hmm, you’re right, I did,” he grinned. “I suppose now would be a bad time to mention I've transferred all of your money out of your account to an offshore account that won’t be monitored?”
“It does look kind of bad,” I laughed. “You'll give me the details of the new account?”
“Of course,” he smiled. “I would never keep that from you.”
“And the transfer won’t be tracked?” I added.
“Of course not, I transferred it through several secure accounts. It’s clean,” he confirmed. “About your new ID though, I've reached out to my contact. I have trusted him on several occasions to produce Passports, driver’s licenses, whatever I needed in the past to get through checkpoints and border crossings. In light of current situation, he has requested that we do not go to him. So, I will photograph you, send him your photo to produce the documents and he will send us a pick up location for them.”
“And you trust that?” I frowned.
“It isn’t ideal, but honestly, we were always going to have to trust him at some point. It takes time for him to produce a perfect Passport forgery. I have agreed that we will pay him half now and the other half when we have collected the documents,” he said with a tone to his voice that I understood there was more to it.
“You need my money,” I realised.
Jake nodded, “He wants the money wired and I simply don’t have the funds right now. It would be dangerous for us if I tried to gather the funds now.”
“Um, yeah, of course, if it means getting us somewhere safe,” I agreed.
Jake smiled, “Thank you, I will tell him we'll go ahead.”
Jake moved to get up, but I grabbed his wrist. “Hey, aren’t you forgetting something?”
“What’s that?” I couldn’t tell if he had truly forgotten or if he was just avoiding it.
“I know you slept, though it seems it was only a short while,” I reminded him. “Did you have any nightmares?”
“No,” he smiled, but I couldn’t shake the feeling he was faking it. “Oh, I need to go check on our laundry.”
“I'll come with you,” I pulled the blanket off.
“You don’t have to,” his eyes gave me a once over.
“If we’re stuck here for a while, what else am I going to do?” I looked around the room.
“It’s just- there’s a few unsavoury people hanging out down there. They won’t mess with me if I go alone, but I can’t say they won’t try to cause problems if you’re there,” he said out of concern.
“What are you saying? I am a liability?” I questioned.
“If they threaten you, I will kill them,” he added.
“No you won’t,” I frowned. “How about we leave the gun up here then? So you’re not tempted.”
“That sounds like a terrible idea and no,” he rejected it without hesitation.
“Well, I am going with you!” I got up and threw the clothes on that we ‘borrowed’. “But if you so much as touch that gun-"
“You'll what?” Jake stood in front of me with his head tilted back, looking down at me intensely.
“Um, I'll...” I was at a loss of words under his intense gaze. I could feel my knees going weak.
“That’s what I thought. Stay up here, I'll handle the laundry,” he smirked. He was enjoying the power play too much.
“Can I at least use your laptop?” I sighed in defeat.
“No,” he said simply.
“Oh, come on, I don’t even have a phone right now,” I whined.
“Last time you got your hands on one you nearly exposed us,” he reminded me. “It seems my concern isn't unwarranted.”
“What did you do with it anyway?” I asked out of curiosity.
“I went outside to get rid of it when I saw a garbage truck and I tossed it into the back as it passed,” he said nonchalantly.
“That belonged to someone,” I pointed out.
“And now it doesn't,” he shrugged. “But you’re learning well. I'll get you something, ok? I just need time.”
“How come I can't use your laptop?” I frowned. “Afraid I'll find your porn collection?”
“If you want to try finding that, be my guest,” he smirked. “But you might regret it.”
“Oooh, challenge accepted,” I giggled.
Jake rolled his eyes, “Just stay off the internet, ok?”
“Yes, sir,” I teased.
Jake shook his head and left the room. I didn’t waste any time going over to his laptop. Of course it was Kali Linux, which I had no experience with, but I managed to find the file manager. I searched for videos and for photos, but no secret porn stashes. Well, aside from my videos, but surely he wasn’t referring to those. No, it had to be something else.
I went through various folders and subfolders, trying to find anything suspicious, but nothing really popped out at me. It all looked like pretty standard files, not that I really knew what they were in the first place. Would he keep the collection on his computer though? Maybe it was in the cloud so he could access it from anywhere. But how the hell do I find that? The thought that I was trying to find an expert hacker's secret collection wasn’t lost on me.
“Time’s up. You've been detected,” he whispered in my ear. “Better luck next time.” He started kissing my neck.
“That's not fair, you told me to stay off the internet but it's stored on the internet, isn't it?” I frowned.
“Why would I download any porn when I can find whatever I want whenever I want on the web?” he questioned between kisses.
“What if you don’t have a connection?” I pointed out.
“Well thankfully, I have you now to keep me entertained,” his kisses turned to sucks. “Still it’s cute that you tried to find something you could hold against me.”
“Wait, are you being turned on by this?” I laughed.
“Mmhmm, my girl is taking her first baby steps into my world,” he said proudly. “Though you have a long way to go.”
“Your girl? Does that mean we’re official then?” I turned around to face him.
“Let’s face it, you always were,” he leant forwards to kiss me sweetly. “Now, do you mind? I have work to do and you’re in my seat.”
“Hmph, I suppose I'll go have a shower. I do want to look my best for my Passport photo,” I smiled. “By the way, what’s the chance of buying a few things? A toothbrush and toothpaste would just be heavenly right about now.”
“Maybe later, but you know you can use mine,” he offered.
“Share a toothbrush?” I made a disgusted face.
“I'm pretty sure we’ve shared worse,” he teased, making me blush. He smiled at my embarrassment and kissed me again. “Go have a shower.”
“Mmm, ‘kay,” I conceded and got up out of the chair.
I glanced back and noticed Jake was watching me as I made my way towards the bathroom. Being under his gaze certainly made my heart skip beats. I felt like such a teenager again with him. Gee, MC, I thought we were better than that. I shook my thoughts of him out of my head as I went into the bathroom.
Like the bedroom, the bathroom facilities were in great need of a renovation. I decided it was better to not look too closely at the state of the tiles. I got undressed and stepped into the stall to turn the shower head on. Water spurted out, but became a steady stream after a moment. It’s warmth was such a relief given everything that’s happened. I let the hot water run over me for a while I zoned out.
Suddenly a cool draft made me aware I was no longer alone. I turned and saw him watching through the cheap glass door. Opening the door, I beckoned him to join me in the shower. He hesitated for a moment, then undressed while keeping his gaze fixed on my eyes. As soon as he entered our arms were wrapped around each other’s bodies as we pulled ourselves into a heated kiss.
To be honest, it was a wonder we ever got anything done.
hi! love your writing! could you possibly do dating headcannons for technoblade?! possibly including some kissing/cuddling :)
I’m so sorry this took so long!! I’m finally on break so I’ll be posting a little more frequently for now! Also I got very carried away with this one,,,, um,,, it’s almost 4,000 words long,,, can you tell Techno is my comfort streamer?? And gender-neutral pronouns as usual! (Edit: This is C!Techno btw, didn’t think I needed to point that out seeing as we all know the actual streamer is not a bloodthirsty half-piglin man but I just got an angry anon in my ask box, so I’m specifying.))
Dating C!Technoblade HCs
Techno being half piglin shares their obsession with gold, and in turn, likes to gift you gold as often as he can. Usually, in the form of jewellery that matches his own, he even gifts you a ‘friendship’ emerald, embedded in a choker you wear most days. And of course, if you ask for it, he makes sure to acquire a crown for you to match his own. As a man who forges his own weapons, he is aware of the process of smelting and sure, he could make the jewellery himself but he’s not very crafty with his hands. Dealing with the small potion vials he uses to brew is difficult enough for his large hands, let alone something as finicky and delicate as jewellery. But when he’d asked you to make your relationship ‘official’ per se, he did persevere and make a ring for you, he ended up making several and scrapping too many he didn’t think were good enough. This continued until Phil had to intervene telling him that if he wasn’t gonna hurry up and ask you he was gonna do it for him, mortified at the thought Techno buckled down and despite the ring’s faults, which were only obvious to him, he gave it to you. You adored it of course, and then he told you he had made it, and it only made you love it more. Techno had underestimated how he would feel when he finally saw you wearing it, he almost killed Phil. The two had been sparring outside in the snow when you had come riding up from the nearby forest, the ring on your finger glinting against the early morning sun and stunning him. Him blindly thrusting his sword forward, head completely turned to you as you approached. Only turning away when he noticed your horrified expression. Thankfully Phil was fine, but you were banned from flashing anything too shiny whenever you came to visit. Techno never heard the end of it from Phil and yourself, however, teasing him for it whenever you had the time.
Techno is a man of few words, for the most part. His love language leans closer to physical touch and acts of service. This man craves your touch, you can hold him so gently in your small hands and he can hardly describe the feeling that washes over him. He wonders if he feels contentment, or if he just feels whole for once. The latter terrifies him because he has no idea what he’s going to do if he ever loses you. That’s a lie. He knows what will happen. The voices will finally win, and it’ll be over. He’ll be lost in the consciousness of a mind that was never truly his own, to begin with. But when you hold him he forgets about all of it, his mind feels clear and quiet. Even if it's just for a few minutes he cherishes those moments, holding you tightly to his chest and simply letting himself breathe. You are his rock, undoubtedly. And now that he’s lived without you for so long, he never intends on letting you go.
Techno’s favourite way to cuddle with you is when you’re both lying on the couch, you draped over him, head on his chest. Sometimes he’ll read to you and sometimes you’ll lie with him for hours, begging him to take a break for once. Even Phil can’t pull him away from his work on his worst days, but you never fail to tempt him with warm cuddles by the fire. Another one of his favourites has to be when every blue moon you wake up before him, he’s quite a light sleeper so once you stir, he’ll wake too. But if you manage to remain undetected and get downstairs he will groggily trudge down the ladder, shirtless and hair an absolute tangled mess. Without a word he will simply wrap his arms around you, pulling your back tightly against his chest and nuzzle his face into your neck all whilst grumbling that you left him alone to wake up. You will always giggle and apologise with soft kisses and a steaming cup of coffee, of course, he begrudgingly forgives you. Those slow morning cuddles as you cook are some of his favourites. When you desperately try to scoot around the small kitchen to stop the eggs from burning and he merely holds you tighter, strength easily holding you back as you whine out complaints as he chuckles against your neck.
Techno is such a sucker for you whenever you kiss his scars. He has a few on his hands that you will always target if you ever feel if he is getting quiet or distant. Your lips on his skin always pull his spiralling thoughts back to the present, back to you. Whenever he starts to feel less than human you practically drag the man to your shared bedroom to remind him of how human he is. Sometimes Techno will tell you the tales behind the scars you pay particular attention to, others he won’t, you focus on those the most. Doing your best to lighten the dark clouds that plague him on his worst days.
Techno isn’t one for a lot of PDA, content to hold your hand and occasionally kiss your forehead. However, if he ever feels threatened by any of the other members of the SMP he is likely to hold you close and glare down anyone who dares look your way. But Techno isn’t intimidated by anyone at the moment, meaning he has no reason to act particularly possessive whilst you’re out. This man adores your hands, he loves watching how small they look in his own. He’ll kiss along your knuckles, especially if you’re wearing the ring he gave you, he’ll murmur a soft, ‘Looking gorgeous your majesty.’ Just to watch the way you smile brightly at him when he does, almost always leaning forward to meet his lips with your own.
Techno is plagued by the memories of his past, the voices a constant reminder of this. He can handle them during the day, but it’s at night when he’s most vulnerable to them. The first time Techno wakes from a night terror you are practically thrown out of the bed as he violently jerks around. Which instantly sets you on alert, Techno sleeps like a rock usually. It’s only when you manage to stand up that you can see him, his body is caked in sweat, strands of his long hair sticking to his skin, the sheets are even damp from it. ‘Techno.’ You try to wake him, knowing he’s a light sleeper. But that doesn’t work. Eventually, you cautiously climb back into bed, tenderly holding his face in your hands, noticing tears slipping down his cheeks as he practically trembles. ‘Techno.’ You call his name again, nothing. ‘Techno!’ He shoots up, sending you flying backwards again in case he threw a punch with him. His eyes are wide, pupils blown out. You’ve never seen him look so terrified before, he scans the room, eyes darting every which way until his eyes finally land on you. ‘A-Are you okay?’ You probe, the tears start again, but they are silent and run quick down his cheeks. His breathing is shallow and quick as his eyes seem to lose focus, looking straight through you. You move closer to him, ‘Hey, hey.’ You coo, unsure what the hell is going on because of course, Techno wasn’t going to tell you he has night terrors. You take his face in your hands again, wiping at the tears on his skin. ‘Techno you’re safe, you’re okay.’ You speak clearly before he pulls you closer, shoving his face into your chest, his arms tight around your middle. You wrap your arms around him as best you can, repeating comforting phrases until his grip loosens, and eventually, he pulls you back down to lie with him. You don’t ask him about it until he mentions it the next morning over breakfast. You hold him close as he talks, face emotionless and eyes blank, trying to distance himself from the events even as he retells them. You deserve to know the atrocious things he’s done. And yet you still choose to stay. Even after everything he tells you, you don’t budge from his side. That speaks louder to Techno than any confession of your undying love could.
Techno is a wanted individual and just by interacting with him, you’re put in danger. But being his partner doubles that danger by tenfold. His enemies will see you as his weakness and desire to use you against him. So, he takes it upon himself to train you, he knows the last thing you want to do is be the cause for his capture or untimely death. As much as Technoblade claims he never dies, if it were your life or his he would not hesitate to sacrifice himself for you. This terrifies you beyond belief of course, so you agree to let him train you. No matter if you already are somewhat skilled Techno’s paranoia surrounding your safety will always encourage him to push your skills further. Most early mornings the two of you spend together, sparring for hours until the sun is high in the sky or until you grow too exhausted to continue. Which in the early days, was often. But there comes a day when you finally best him. He doesn’t remember if he was going easy on you or was distracted by his surroundings, scanning the perimeter. He only remembers the moment you knocked him down onto his back, you look down at him panting with such a shocked expression. Techno looks up to you and holds out an arm, you take it ready to pull him back up only for him to pull you down with him. Techno holds you tight to his chest, the sun warm on both of your faces as it reflects upon the surrounding snow. Neither of you speak but you both understand what this means, you’re ready.
Techno isn’t one for grand gestures to prove his love to you. The man is dramatic, sure. But he finds himself yearning for simplicity, and you provide it. He doesn’t tell you he loves you very often, he is a man of few words, you’ve always known this so you never expected it. However, his actions scream it to you. Countless times you have mentioned small complaints about little things in your life and Techno takes them on as if the draft in your window had a personal vendetta against him. As if it had threatened your very life. You’d never seen a man fix a window frame so aggressively before. It was funnier to watch than you’d admit to him if given the chance. On one particular occasion, you mentioned his absence from the cabin, his explanation of the importance of the Syndicate and the new room Phil and himself had constructed. You understood and didn’t mention it again, not thinking anything of it but a necessary and temporary inconvenience. Only for Phil and Techno to be set up at the kitchen table when you came downstairs the next morning, the table covered in tattered books and coffee spill-stained scrolls. You were confused for a moment, spotting the Syndicate plans, codenames, etc sprawled out in Phil’s chicken scratch. Until it clicked. Hauling all of the stuff up from the Syndicate room had been a bit of a pain but the way your eyes lit up in realisation was more than enough for Techno to know it was the right choice.
This man cannot keep a secret from you. Most may think he isn’t very talkative, but you can hardly get him to shut up sometimes. Not that you’d ever want him to, eager to listen to whatever he has to say. He will always come to you when he feels he needs advice, knowing you will offer a fresh perspective that may give him the breakthrough he needs to make an informed decision. You are his rock and he never wants you to forget that. He may be more talkative with you but that doesn’t stop him from being a fantastic listener. Sometimes he can get zoned out when the voices become too much. In the beginning, you found it difficult to tell when he wasn’t able to listen, but after being around him for so long you’ve got a better knack for it. And sometimes you can’t and you keep talking, he’ll just silently press a hand to whatever part of you is easiest to reach. And that usually gets the message across. Sometimes you can pull him out of his own head, and other times you can’t. So you just sit with him in comfortable silence, usually, you’ll place your smaller hand in his and lean into him. The two of you have fallen asleep countless times like that.
However, sometimes the fact he can’t keep a secret from you leads to some comical miscommunication neither of the two of you foresaw. Phil, Techno and Ranboo had left for around a week in search of a new woodland mansion to raid, following one of Ranboo’s countless maps. Upon their return, Techno seemed visibly, off. He wasn’t being distant or getting lost in his own head, it was more as if he were actively avoiding you. Which was something very un-Techno. What made your worry increase tenfold was when you asked Phil if he had noticed any kind of difference the blonde merely shook his head. “He seems normal to me, mate.” Because there’s no way Phil didn’t notice Techno’s change in behaviour, which means they’re both hiding something from you. Knowing the two men quite well, you knew they wouldn’t break. But Ranboo would. So with your head held high, you sought out to find the boy, only to find out he was staying in Snowchester for the time being but would be returning in the morning. That night thoughts of self-doubt plagued you, wondering if it was something you had said or done that made Techno act strangely. But just as the moon was reaching its zenith, Techno came into your shared bedroom. He beckoned for you to follow him, after putting on some snow appropriate outerwear the two of you were on the back of Carl headed towards the forest’s tree line that faced the cabin. You asked Techno where you were going his only response, “It’s a surprise.” And to say your heart soared would be a slight understatement when the two of you finally reached the forest clearing. A small candlelit dinner for two inside of a dark oak gazebo. One that looked as if it had only been finished recently, the veneer on the wood still in impeccable condition as Techno led you over to it. You were truly floored by this display, stars illuminated in your bright eyes. “Phil and Ranboo helped. We brainstormed on our way back from the woodland mansion. And I, I knew I’d spill the secret the moment you asked. Sorry.” His apology and explanation are curt, much like the man himself.  You hold him tight then, arms wrapped around him for as long as he’ll let you. He chuckles after a while, “C’mon, the food’s getting cold.” He pulls away after pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, pulling your chair out for you because Phil told him to. The blush you provide lets him know he should do it more often. As the two of you begin to finish your food you hear the soft strumming of a guitar and an equally soft voice to match. Floating atop one of the branches in a nearby tree, as if he were trying to sit on it, is Ghostbur. He sends a small and quick wave when you spot him before his hand drops back down to his guitar. “Wow, you really pulled out all the stops for this, huh?” You look back to Techno to find him now stood up, offering his hand to you. “For you. Anything.” You take his hand and he leads you into the middle of the gazebo with a grace you always knew he had. Ghostbur continues to serenade, the two of you dancing in your own private world until the moon was low on the horizon once again.
Whenever Techno leaves to go and fight he knows you worry about him. You do not doubt his skills but his luck is bound to run out eventually. Skill and resources only account for so much of the outcome, luck and fate determine the rest. Techno worries when he leaves to fight as well. He worries about what will happen if he ever loses. When his enemies will come for you, his past now liable to catch up with you as well as himself. He can’t have that happen. That’s why he keeps fighting, he won’t stop until he knows that if he ever falls in battle you will be safe from his enemies past or present. When Techno eventually does get back from the battle, without fail you will swear up and down that he cannot keep doing this and that next time you’re going to leave him to bleed out in the snow on the porch. You never do. But some days Techno thinks you’d be better off if you did. But those are the kind of thoughts you happily kiss away with a soft smile and a few gently spoken words. You are always the one to patch him up when he’s injured, which isn’t often but you remain swift with sutures and bandages despite that. No matter how badly he’s been injured you will always hold him so reverently, with such a gentle expression that it never fails to floor him. Most sessions in which you patch him up devolve into soft gasps and warm hands on your body to repay you for your ‘services’.
Techno knew you were different from the moment he met you. He acknowledges how stupidly cliché that is, but it’s true. The constant chatter of the voices in his head drowned out the first time he saw you, even if it was just for a moment. They stuttered and stammered, just as he did. You floored them as much as you floored him. When you were with him, they would quieten. As if they wanted to concentrate on what you were saying as much as he did. Not even Phil made the voices act in such a way. Only you. Nowadays they only bother him on certain bad days that grow more and more infrequent the longer you are in his life. You drown them out in a way nothing else in his life ever has. He doesn’t know how he can ever repay you for that but vowing to be by your side for the rest of his life seems to be a good enough start for the two of you.
The first time Techno tells you he loves you is when you’re in battle together. Techno, Phil and yourself had decided to raid a woodland mansion, something all three of you had done before with no trouble. But upon arriving, everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong. This led to the three of you becoming separated within the confines of the thick wooden walls. You were managing to keep a level head but fear was growing in the pit of your stomach. With every vindicator you took down another only seemed to replace it, leaving you tired and heaving for air. You were in good shape all things considered but you were getting tired and soon you would get careless, you needed to find Techno and Phil and get the hell out of here before things got worse. Your totem of undying tied tightly to your waist glints against the setting sun pouring through the large floor to ceiling windows as you charge past, enemies remain at your back as you plough forward heading for the set of stairs you know are here somewhere. As you spot the sacred stairs you hear a shout of pain followed by a deep snarl. You look over the stairs balcony to see Techno swarmed by a group of stubborn Vex. He looks exhausted. Bloodstains him, you’re unsure whether it’s his, the enemies, or a combination of the two. Techno fails to notice the Ravager charging towards him from behind, the axe raised high above its head. The half-piglin far too distracted by the Vex and the aiming of his crossbow at their stupid little bodies. It takes only a moment for you to vault over the second-floor railing and plummet towards the Ravager. You land on its shoulders and it stumbles, your hand shoots out to restrain its axe-wielding arm. The other hand desperately clawing at you as it grumbles and groans grow high pitched and panicked. Your legs wrap tightly around its throat until you hear a sickening pop and you fall to the ground along with the now very dead Ravager. You don’t manage to catch yourself, despite the adrenaline pumping through your veins. You let out a soft groan as a hand comes into view, Techno following it. You take his hand and he hauls you back up and onto your feet. Now that you’re closer to him you can tell that some of the blood staining his clothing is his, but you’re sure you mirror his look. He doesn’t let go of your hand now that you’re stood up and neither do you. You look up from your entwined hands to his face, he’s staring at you with an expression you can’t quite determine. “Tech-“ His lips plant firmly onto your own, swallowing your words instantly. He grips the small of your back, trying to pull you closer into him as if the two of you could fuse into one single being. When he finally pulls away to let you breathe your lungs are burning, soft gasps heaving in air. “I love you-” He mumbles the phrase repeatedly against your lips like a prayer, a mantra, only to capture your lips again before you can even respond to his confession in kind. Eventually, the two of you break apart long enough for you to be able to tell him you love him as well. You knew he loved you before that moment, but in reality, he finally realised how much he loved you. And for the first time, it didn’t scare him.
Dad of Destruction
Tumblr media
requested by anon - thanks for the super fun request! I hope you enjoy :) (a picture of your request is at the bottom of the one shot)
Premise: You love Namjoon with all your heart, and you’re so happy that together, you get to raise this child. However, you also want that child to make it to adulthood in one piece, and Namjoon has a startling talent for breaking things. Mama bear mode = ON.
Word Count: 2.4k
Warnings: none, but I’m so soft for this concept
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You’d heard plenty of people joking about how much of a mama bear you’d be once the little one came along, you just never realized that they were right.
Sitting up in the hospital bed with the smallest, most beautiful bundle of joy wrapped up in your arms, you can almost feel this new side of you sliding into place.
“I won’t let anything hurt you. Ever.” You mumble the words out with tired but glowing eyes. Namjoon grunts in agreement from where he stands beside the bed, craning his neck to catch a glimpse of his newborn daughter.
Giving him a soft smile, you can’t help but feel like you’re floating above the clouds with the way your daughter yawns in your arms, completely unaware of the world she’s just been born into.
Namjoon brushes your hair back behind your ear. “You must be exhausted,” he observes. You make a noise that resembles a yes. “Here, let me take her. You rest.”
Suddenly you’re wide awake. “N-no, it’s fine, Joon. I’ll hold her. I’m not that tired.”
“You sure?” There’s a small flash of concern in Namjoon’s eyes, but he knows to just let you have your way for now. After all, you did just go through a grueling delivery.
“Positive.”
~~~~
You can only get away with it for so long.
You manage to stay another night at the hospital, with Namjoon only ever holding Lily - that’s what you and Namjoon decided to name her - when you are in the room.
Preferably within arm’s length.
It’s not that you don’t trust Namjoon...
It’s just that you don’t overly trust him. Especially as you were reminded of his destruction abilities this morning when he very nearly broke the carseat as he attempted to get it set up in the back. With every crack and curse that he quietly spit out at the infernal device, you held Lily a little closer to your chest.
Winking down at the newborn, you faked a confident smile. “Daddy’s got it, don’t worry. We’ll get you home in one piece.”
Of course, you drove home. Namjoon tried to protest (he’d gotten his driver’s license six months ago purely for the ability to be able to drive his child around) but one look from you had him chewing on his lip while sheepishly sliding into the passenger seat.
The next few days comprised of a few small gatherings where the boys came bearing a ridiculous amount of gifts and even more ridiculous smiles once they spotted Lily. Everyone commented on her beautiful eyelashes, and argued over who she resembled more.
You secretly hoped she’d take after Namjoon’s side. If you were being honest, she already had little dragon eyes that resembled her father. It made your heart melt.
Your heart positively stopped beating altogether anytime Namjoon wanted to cradle Lily in his arms to show her to Jin or Tae.
Everyone noticed, and laughed. Your tense shoulders and unblinking eyes as you tracked Namjoon’s every movement had the boys in tears as they guffawed over your actions. Namjoon blushed, settling Lily in Tae’s eager arms.
It got worse once Namjoon realized that you relaxed once your daughter was in Tae’s arms.
Or Jin’s.
Or even your nosy neighbor’s, who had come prying not long after the boys had left.
It had been endearing to see you all protective before, but now it was offensive. Because you were trying to protect your daughter from him.
If Namjoon was being completely honest, he still didn’t quite trust himself to not mess anything up. But he’d at least like a vote of faith on your part.
So a couple of weeks later as the two of you sat across from each other at the dinner table, he wasn’t quite sure how to bring it up with you.
Your shoulders were slumped, your eyes drifting shut as you picked at your food. Namjoon watched, waiting to see if you were about to pass out in your dinner. When you didn’t, he decided it’d probably be nice to make some small talk.
“I can’t believe I have to head back into work tomorrow,” he sighed. Bighit had given him two weeks off to spend with you and Lily, and it was safe to say that he’d loved every moment of it. But it was time for him to head back into work.
You frowned at him over the table, and the part of him that was sad about having to return to work only doubled in size at the expression on your face.
“It’s gone by so fast,” you muttered. “Can’t we pull just one more week? I’m going to miss having you around all day.” A part of you also wondered what it would be like to feel like you could take a nap without keeping one eye open in case of an emergency.
Lily could handle herself, it was Namjoon that always kept you in high alert.
Not that you’d ever admit that to him.
Namjoon smiled softly, and you noticed just how exhausted he looked as well. Through and through, you two were equals. “I’m going to miss you guys.”
Plural. A thrill races through your body at the plural form of his words, reminding you that together, you’ve created a little family.
Pushing back in his chair, Namjoon looks contemplative. “You know, I bet I could take Lily with me to work sometimes. On the days where I’m just working in the studio. She’s young enough that I could just set up the little newborn swing and let her nap while I work. The boys would love that, too. And you could...I don’t know, take a nap?” He laughs a little, oblivious to how pale your face has gone at the notion of him taking Lily alone to work. “We’d be fine, I think. I’d take the diaper bag, and there’s a bathroom just down the hallway-”
The images of everything that could possible go wrong - one of them being an entire speaker being knocked off the table by your clumsy husband only to land on your helpless daughter - is enough to have you shooting to your feet.
“No way,” you sputter. “That’s definitely not happening. Not for a long, long time, Namjoon.” Heart thundering against your chest, you hardly notice the crestfallen expression on Namjoon’s face.
“It was just a thought-”
“And I’m putting a stop to that thought.”
“I just thought it might be nice for all of us-”
“Nice?” You must look like a gasping fish at this point. “Nice, Namjoon? No. I wouldn’t be able to rest without Lily here! You really think I could just leave her with you? What if something happened? What if you knocked something off your desk and hurt her? Spilled hot coffee on her? Forgot she was there? I...that would be a nightmare!”
Namjoon hardly has time to open his mouth to respond before you’re grabbing both of your dishes and rushing back into the kitchen to wash them. Chest rising and falling at a rapid rate, you hardly notice Namjoon’s presence at your elbow before he’s lightly nudging you to the side.
“Let me,” he mumbles quietly enough that you hardly catch the words. “Go to bed. I’ll finish up.”
You pay him no mind, scrubbing at the dishes with reckless abandon. Namjoon breathes in deeply, struggling to steady himself.
Tears are pooling in your vision now, and you can’t help but feel like you’ve lost all control over your emotions.
Over your life.
“I...” you sniffle in the direction of the sink, “I’m sorry, Joon. It’s just-”
“No, don’t apologize.” Namjoon nudges you again, pulling the sponge from your hands and setting to work on the dishes. “I know that everything is different and new, and you’re probably feeling out of balance. I should have thought about that. Lily is...your anchor right now. I was just upset, because that’s supposed to be my role.”
His words have your eyes widening as you realize that everything he said is correct. Namjoon doesn’t bother to look to see if his words rung true, opting to focus on the plate that has been clean for a while now but continuing to scrub at it.
“Go to bed,” he orders lightly, still not looking at you.
Mouth wide open, close it again. Then re-open it. “Namjoon, I swear, I wasn’t trying to hurt you. I’m just...freaked out.”
He nods curtly. “I know.”
~~~~
A part of you remembers feeling the bed dip not long after you’d collapsed upon it, letting you know that Namjoon was also settling down for the night. He’d gone completely still after sitting on the edge of the bed, looking over at you as though he might say something.
Instead, he’d slid under the covers as smoothly as possible before turning the lamp off.
It was one of the rare occasions that he’d managed to not tip anything over in his search for the lamp switch, but your exhausted brain hadn’t bothered to celebrate the occasion.
You were exhausted. And you realized that it wasn’t so much physical exhaustion as it was emotional.
Of course you didn’t want Namjoon to have to go back to work tomorrow, but you were also looking forward to a little sliver of peace knowing that you only had to worry about Lily.
Starting tomorrow it was just going to be you and Lily. A little team of two against the world.
Sleep completely overtook you, and Namjoon’s words managed to slither their way into your brain, following you into your dreams.
“She’s your...anchor. I was just upset, because that’s supposed to be my role.”
~~~~
You were so far gone into your dreamland that Lily’s cries took much longer to get to you that night. In fact, it was more the feeling of suddenly being alone in the bed that roused you from sleep than it was your daughter’s crying.
Completely disoriented and still half in a dream that had to do with anchors and Namjoon’s studio, you sit up in bed and struggle to rub the sleep from your eyes.
Another couple of minutes passed before you bolted out from under the covers, realizing that Lily had been crying, Namjoon was gone, and now it was utterly silent.
“Oh no.”
Wrapping your robe around your frame, you padded down the hallway to Lily’s room. Her door was open, with the soft light from her nightlight spilling out into the hallway. You’d just made it to her door when you heard Namjoon.
“See? We’re doing alright, Lils.”
Peering into the dimly lit room, your heart clenched and then completely melted at the sight before you.
Namjoon, clad in nothing but his basketball shorts and mussed hair, stared down at his daughter with a smile so soft that you were sure you’d never seen it before. His eyes, however tired, practically glowed with adoration. Ever so gently rocking back and forth in the rocking chair placed in the corner of the room, he only had eyes for his daughter.
Lily appeared to be utterly content in her father’s arms, already drifting back to sleep. The only sign that she was still somewhat awake was the little hand that reached up to grip Namjoon’s finger.
Together, your entire world swayed back and forth in the rocking chair that had taken an entire afternoon to put together. Quietly, gently.
And as Namjoon slightly adjusted his hold, he did so carefully. And that’s when you saw it.
The flicker of worry in his eyes as he brought Lily closer to his chest. The way he held his breath until she settled back into her sleepy daze. How that little smile reappeared as her little exhales tickled his skin.
Namjoon was learning, and judging by the fresh diaper laying atop the wastebasket by the door, he was doing just fine.
No thanks to you, of course.
At the sound of your sniffle, Namjoon’s head shot up. He winced, glancing down to make sure Lily hadn’t been rudely awoken.
His eyes found yours from across the room, and he immediately bit his bottom lip. He began to slow his rocking, preparing to let you take over.
You held up a hand. “No, it’s fine. Keep going.”
Namjoon froze for a moment before remembering to continue rocking. “...what?”
Shrugging, you silently make your way into the room and take a seat on a footstool beside Namjoon. “Keep going.”
“Are you sure?”
You give him an apologetic smile. “Yes. I...truly, I’m sorry, Namjoon. You’re just trying your best, and I haven’t given you any credit for that. You...” Tears blur your vision. “You’re a great father. And we both love you.”
Namjoon stares at you for a moment longer, eyes wide with emotion before looking down at Lily’s sleeping form. “How did we make something so perfect? She’s absolutely perfect.”
You giggle quietly. “Are you doubting my abilities, Mr. Kim?”
That soft smile splits into a boyish grin, the same he sported on your second date all those years ago.
“Of course not. Although it does make me wonder...”
Your eyebrows raise. “What?”
That grin doesn’t falter as Namjoon whispers, “What do think the chances are that the next one is just as perfect?”
Fighting the urge to punch his arm, you settle for rolling your eyes. “We are not even entertaining the idea of another kid right now, Joon. Our daughter just turned 2 weeks old. Give me a break.”
“I want to give you a break,” Namjoon presses, wiggling his eyebrows. “So how about you let me take her to work? That would be a great break for you. You wouldn’t have to worry about either one of us!”
“Nope.”
Namjoon frowns. “Still a no?”
You look at the small form in his arms, peacefully sleeping. “Absolutely not. Maybe when she’s 10.”
Gasping, Namjoon’s eyes twinkle with joy. “10?! I was thinking more like 3...”
“Nice try, loser.”
“4?”
You give him a long look, finally rising from where you sit. Pressing a kiss to Lily’s rosy cheeks before turning to brush your lips against Namjoon’s, you sigh.
“6. Final offer.”
Namjoon sighs, but appears to be content. “Have I ever told you how sexy you are when you negotiate?”
Heading toward the door, you stifle a laugh. “We are not having another kid right now, Joon.”
His sigh of disappointment has you grinning, feeling like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.
Once you’re back into the hallway, you turn to get one last look at this moment. Namjoon has already focused on Lily again, oblivious to your actions. The moonlight trickles in through the curtains, and that’s when you take a mental picture of this moment.
Of your love, your husband, your anchor. Holding your daughter in the soft moonlight.
Kisses in the Corridor {Tim Drake x Reader}
MASTERLIST
REQUEST HERE
Word Count: 3,604
Request: Could you please write a tim x reader fic where the reader is a superhero (I was thinking like Barry Allen’s kid and the new Kid Flash) and is also Tim’s s/o and maybe Bruce and/or the Flash catch them having sex? 💜
2s. “stop before someone sees!" & 4s. "ten? i only need five."
WARNING NSFW MATURE CONTENT 18+ Tim and reader are 18
I WOKE up to the sound of a loud buzzing. I moved away from Tim’s grip and reached on the nightstand for my phone. I looked back at Tim, he held the same peaceful expression. I squinted at the caller ID and immediately sat up. I tried to be as gentle as possible, not to wake Tim. He was normally a very light sleeper, but he was sleep deprived. I pushed the blankets off and moved out of the room. I gently opened the door and snuck out into the hallway. I looked down at the caller ID once more to be sure before I answered.
DAD
“Dad? It’s 3am, what’s going on?” I whispered, I heard a rustling in the background. There was some kind of conflict, but I couldn’t quite make it out. After a few moments there was silence, then a heavy sigh.“I need your help.”
“What’s going on?” I moved down the hall trying my best to be quiet. “I’m going to send you some files. I need you to get Tim to decrypt them.”
“Okay send them to me and I’ll have him look at them as soon as he wakes up.” I heard a pause from the other side of the line. “When he-” He paused. “He’s with you right now?” I hadn’t exactly mentioned that I had moved in with him. As far as he knew I was still staying with in the house with the others. I faked a yawn. “I gotta go dad, love you.”
I quickly hung up and moved back into the bedroom. I got back into bed and Tim shifted slightly. I moved closer and he put his arm around me again.
I woke up and found Tim looking up at the ceiling. “Did you sleep okay? I noticed you got out of bed last night.” He turned to me, and I sighed. “Sorry I thought I was being quiet.” He chuckled, “Work hazard. Don’t worry about it.” I sat up and grabbed my phone. “Well it was my dad.” He squinted his eyes. “Why did he call you at 3am?”
“He wanted me to send you some files he needs decrypted.” I handed him my phone and showed him the files. He hummed and sat up. “I’m sorry I know you just finished your project-” He shook his head and get out of bed. “I really don’t mind. I’m sure your father wouldn’t have asked if it wasn’t important.” Tim grabbed his laptop and connected my phone. We moved into the bathroom and got started on our morning routines.
Tim’s was straight forward, he wanted to brush his teeth and get to work. I on the other hand had a few steps. I tried to make Tim do them with me as much as I could. “Come here.” I grabbed his face and massaged a gentle cleanser. Wearing masks almost every night didn’t work wonders for out skin. He waited patiently until I was done. I applied some moisturizer, “All done.”
He smiled and pulled me in for a kiss. “I’ll get the coffee started.”
-------------------------------------------------
 Tim spent most of the day working on the files. When it was time to leave for patrol I had to pry him from the computer. “It’s time already?” I nodded and moved to get up. He stretched and then looked around.
I held out his suit and he sighed in relief. “What would I do without you?” He pulled his shirt over his head. My eyes raked over his toned chest. He had come a long way. He used to be lanky, but he had put on a lot more muscle in the past two years. Whatever shape he was in, I loved him.
Truth be told I was still getting used to his chiseled features. I gave him once last glance. “If I stay here any longer we’re going to be late.” I handed him his suit and moved out of the room. I grabbed my phone and noticed a missed call.
DAD: I’ll be by Friday afternoon, Bruce needs me to speak at his proposal. Looking forward to talking to Tim.
As if Tim didn’t have enough on his plate. I still had another 3 days to prepare Tim. I decided to tell him tomorrow. I put my phone down and Tim emerged from the bedroom. We met Dick at the coordinates he gave us. Dick left for the night leaving the two of us in charge. Tim had wired the police scanners to our headsets. The night moved slowly.
That was until the 3rd hour.
“10-44. Any units between 4th street and Palmdale?” Tim and I exchanged looks, stolen vehicle. We were only a few minutes out. Tim used his grapple, seeing as we were nearby. I got there a few minutes before him. “How bad is it?” The scanners had grown more chaotic. This wasn’t a normal stolen vehicle situation. We learned that there were children inside the car when it was taken. On top of it all, the driver was intoxicated. “Can you send out an alert and clear the next two blocks?”
“Done.”
I kept up with the vehicle, doing my best to move civilians out of the path. With the alert Tim had sent out. I was going to get inside the vehicle and stop the driver. “He’s approaching a construction site. You’re going in blind, the city hasn’t updated the maps.”
“Send an ambulance, and make sure the police don’t go into construction.”
“Y/N-” Tim’s voice said sternly. He was too far behind to do anything. “Be careful.”
“Always am.” Now that there were no civilians in the way, I was going to have to get the children out first. He was nearing the end of the map. I moved in and saw two children in the backseat. I needed to take them one by one. It was safer, their bodies weren’t meant to undergo high velocities. I needed to protected them from whiplash.
The first child was a beautiful chocolate haired boy. “Okay, where are you Tim?”
“Magnolia.” He replied immediately. I took the boy and ran him to Tim. By time his older brother blinked I was back. I left them both with Tim and rushed back to the driver. By now he knew that something was going on. He sped up. “What are you doing?” Tim’s worried voice came over the headset. “They’re safe.”
“He could get away.” I used every ounce of my stamina to catch up. I caught up and moved inside the car. I tried to take control, but he wasn’t giving up. The site was less than a mile away. As it grew closer, I saw it was the outline of a building.
If he breached the gates he wouldn’t have time to stop. He would drive through the building’s foundation, which wasn’t secure. It would crumble onto of us. His hand moved to the gun he had by his side. He slammed the gun into the side of my head. I felt the warmth trickling down the side of my face. I threw a punch and felt it connect. He fired a shot and moved my head back. He missed. I lifted my head back up and took the gun. and tossed it in the back seat. I looked up, it was too late. We were almost inside the building.
Tim was screaming in my headset. He heard the gunshot. I opened the door and pulled the driver out. I looked in front of us, the building slowly started to crumble. There was still a chance. There was a small opening where the building hadn’t caved in yet.
I had to make a choice. I needed to risk taking him and him slowing me down. Or I could leave him and get out, guaranteed. I had a fraction of a second to decide. I took one look at him and decided to risk it. I held on too him and used all my strength to reach the opening. I was exhausted. Just catching up to him when he was miles ahead had taken it out of me. Now I was bleeding, and drained.
I thought about Tim. Memories of us flashed inside my head. I mustered enough strength to run. I threw the man out and then jumped out of the opening. On impact, I knew something wasn’t okay. I had landed on my shoulder. “Tim.”
He was just outside the gates.
-------------------------------------------------
Luckily my body worked hard to fix the broken bone. Being a speedster came with its perks. Fast metabolism, and healing. By the time Bruce’s proposal came around, my wounds were almost completely healed.
“Are you sure you want to go?” Tim asked once more, hands on either side of my face. “I’m fine Tim. I promise. I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” He sighed, he had seen the x- rays. Physically I was fine. “Fine but if you start to feel even just a headache, we’re coming back.” I nodded and he looked over my face again.
I stuck out my hand and he placed a kiss on it before intertwining our fingers.
We arrived right on time. Tim’s part of Bruce’s proposal was one of the first points. He had to go set up in Bruce’s office. “I’ll be right back.” He took his files and rushed up to the office. I joined Dick, Jason and Damien in the lounge. “Hello, boys.”
They looked up and Dick’s eyebrow’s knitted together. “Are you even supposed to be out of bed?” I laughed, “Dick it was just my shoulder. I’m fine.” Damian snickered at his brother. Dick looked at between his brothers. Jason had a smirk on his face. “What?”
“Speedster. They heal 20 times faster than us.”
“He got promoted to lead of the biotech department of Wayne Enterprises a few weeks ago.”
The boys bickered. My eyes scanned the room for my father. He was incredibly hard to miss. “I’ll be back.” The boys didn’t even turn in my direction. I walked to the other side of the lounge. He turned to me and then patted his college on the shoulder. He approached me, a big smile on his face. “Hey dad.” He opened his arms and pulled me in for a tight hug. I groaned, “Little too hard.” I gasped and he let go. “Sorry, I just haven’t seen you much.”
“I know. I’m sorry I’ve been meaning to visit.” He nodded and looked around. “Where’s Tim?” I pointed to Bruce’s office. “He’s setting up.” My father raised his eyebrows. “I didn’t know he was part of the presentation.”
“Wow. That’s fantastic.” He genuinely was impressed. After all he had a background in bio medicine. He knew how hard the work was. “We’ll I’d love to talk to him about it.” I laughed, of course he did. “You can come by our place after and I’m sure he’d talk your ear off.” He turned to me. His eyes narrowing.
Realization struck, and I cursed internally. Eventually I was going to have to tell him, but I was hoping back at home. In front of family and witnesses. Before he could say anything. There was an announcement on the overhead speaker. We were ushered as the presentations were about to begin.
-------------------------------------------------
Tim did fantastic as expected. He kept the crowd engages and said everything perfectly. He approached me as he walked off of the stage. I clapped along with the crowd. He greeted me with a kiss. “You did amazing Tim.” We walked to the back of the room. He didn’t want to interrupt anyone. He gestured for the door. He took my hand and I followed after him. We closed the door behind us and stood in the corridor. Tim let out a deep breath.
He still wasn’t used to speaking in crowds, and this was a lot larger than he was used to. “Are you alright?” He nodded, “I’m glad it’s over.” He moved to take off his tuxedo jacket. I watched as his arms contracted. He slowly rolled up his sleeves, revealing his muscular arms.
He put his jacket over his arm and looked over at me. A small grin on his face. “What?” I shook my head and sighed. “How much longer is this?” He looked at the clock. “We still have another hour.” I looked up at him. His piercing blue eyes were fixated on mine. His hair wast neatly parted down the middle, every strand perfectly combed in place. He moved closer and put his hand over the wall near my head. “What’s got you all flustered Y/N?”
I took a deep breath, my eyes fixated on his lips. “You, Drake.” He smirked and pressed his lips against mine.
Barry looked around the room, and noticed the absence of Y/N and Tim. He turned to Bruce. “Where are they?” Bruce looked around. No sigh of them. He looked at the cameras on his watch. He didn’t see them. Bruce shook his head. The two got up and moved into the lounge. Damian, Jason and Dick were there for security. He knew no one would get past them unnoticed.
“Have either of you seen Y/N and Tim?” Bruce asked. Dick and Jason looked at each other and then shrugged. Bruce sighed, so much for security.
“I think I saw them go-” Damian spoke nonchalantly. He looked in front of him, behind Bruce and Barry Dick and Jason were trying to tell him something. Quite frankly, they looked like idiots. They were shaking their heads violently waving their arms back and forth. Damien squinted as he tried to read the boys lips. Dick mouthed something he couldn’t quite make out. Bruce and Barry exchanged looks, they turned around and saw Dick and Jason conversing casually.
“Damian?” Jason motioned for him to keep his lips zipped. A smirk grew on Damian's face. He wanted to see it all play out.
Dick and Jason tried. They weren’t quite sure what they were up to but they knew it was nothing good. They tried to stay in Tim’s good graces, in the blink of an eye Tim could hack everything they owned. As for Y/N, they knew there would be no escaping. Y/N could catch up to them anywhere. In short, they didn’t want to piss either of them off.
They had noticed their brother couldn’t keep his hands off of his date. They were two hyperactive teenagers, it didn’t take rocket science to figure it out. They watched as Damian’s smirk grew. He hadn’t figured it out but he knew it would get Tim in trouble and that was enough for him. “They went down the hall and up the elevator.” Bruce gave a short nod and the two went off.
“Well, we tried.” Jason shrugged, and took a swing of his drink. He wasn’t going to deny that watching Tim get his ass kicked by a speedster wasn’t funny. “Should’ve choked the little bastard.” Dick sighed, the two could only wait.
-------------------------------------------------
“Tim.” I let out a shaky breath, trying my hardest to keep quiet. “Stop before someone sees!" We were in a building full of people, at any moment someone could walk down the corridor. Tim chuckled against my neck, “You really want me to stop?” I bit my lip, he was right. I didn’t want him to stop. I was just worried about being caught. “The next presentation starts in 10 minutes.”
"Ten? I only need five."
At this point I threw all common sense out of the window. I took his hand and we were in his office in seconds. I had closed the door behind us. Tim smirked, “In my office? You little-” I interrupted him by kissing him. My hands moved from his hair and down to his suit. I quickly unbuttoned his dress shirt, and my hands moved to unbuckle his belt.
Without breaking the kiss i discarded his dress shirt on the floor. His hands moved to remove my clothing. We broke away for a moment to catch our breaths. He picked me up and moved us to the couch. His lips reconnected to mine once more. I straddled his waist and moved against him for friction. My hands moved back down to the waistband of his boxers. I pulled them down and ran my hands up and down his length.
He let out a groan. “Fuck.” He got rid of the rest of my clothes throwing them across his office. I didn’t waste time in scolding him. I lowered myself down onto his length. We both let out a sigh, all of our pent up frustrations released. Tim’s hands moved back to my waist. He lifted me and then slammed me back down onto himself. I bit my lip, trying to stay quiet. His lips moved down to my neck, leaving wet kisses before moving to whisper in my ear. “They’re all down stairs, I want to hear you.”
Tim loved hearing vocalization, he couldn’t get enough. He knew every part of my body. He knew exactly what to do to get what he wanted. He speed up, and hit just the right spot. I gave in. “Oh god.” We were both breathing heavily. Sounds of pleasure overtook the room. Our bodies moved against each other hungrily. Tim smirked as he moved back to my neck. He moved right to my sweet spot. “Fuck,Tim.”
I dug my nails into his shoulders, leaving small red lines, He pulled away from my neck, satisfied by his work. His lips moved back to mine and speed up again. I felt a growing knot in my stomach each time he moved in and out. Sensing I was close he sat up and took control. He thrusted up into me, over and over, and I grew louder each time. “Please, Tim.” I could feel his thrusts becoming more sloppy, he was close. My orgasm came soon after, my body gave out. I shook against him. He helped me ride out my high. He came and I felt his warmth spread in my core.
“Y/N are you okay-” The door burst open, in the heat of the moment I had forgotten to lock it. Luckily Tim reached for his shirt. He quickly used it to cover me. “I thought you were hurt or dear god.” Barry looked at the ceiling, trying to avert his gaze.
“TIMOTHY JACKSON DRAKE!” Bruce’s voice echoed off the walls. Surely the boys down stairs were snickering. “In your office of all places.” He rubbed his hand across his face. Neither of us knew what to say. “Get dressed. Now.” Bruce said sternly before slamming Tim’s office door.
We moved off of each other and tried to find our clothes. Of course Tim in desperation had scattered my clothes. I was kind enough to leave his nicely by the couch. We quickly got dressed and opened the door. Bruce crossed his arms over his chest. Barry glared at Tim.
“Hey dad.” I smiled nervously, he sighed deeply. “I don’t even know where to start. I’m so-”
“Did you finish uploading the files before you-” Bruce couldn’t finish the sentence, Tim pulled the hard drive out his pocket and handed it over. “Go.” He waved us off and I watched as he placed a hand on my father’s chest. I motioned for Tim to go, and I approached my father. Bruce looked between us and nodded.
“I’m sorry.” He nodded, a silence washed over us. Neither of us sure what to say. Finally, he broke the silence. “So, you really love him?” I looked back at Tim who was having his talk with Bruce. I smiled and nodded. “I really do.” It gave Barry comfort. He had seen the strength of the connection when he first met Tim a year ago. He knew that they were growing up, it was inevitable. After all, he was a teenager once. He knew what it was like to be deeply in love. For now, all he could do was try and forget this ever happened. Tim approached us. I looked back and forth between the two. For a long moment there was just silence. The two held eye contact. “I expect to see you during the holidays Timothy.” Tim nodded, “Of course sir.”
We went back down stairs. Damian snickered, and Tim shot a glare at his brothers. Dick and Jason pointed to their youngest brother. “If either of you breathe a word...” Tim trailed off, his threat looming. His older brothers nodded. “And you,” He turned to Damian. “I’ll end you.” I placed my hand on Tim’s chest. He backed away and stood up straight. “You know he-”
“Thank you for the drive, you helped save a lot of people.” And with that he was off. Tim breathed a sigh of relief, “I thought he was going to kill me.”
“I know. In time, let’s just get through this.” Tim sighed, “Fine.”
Watch Me Fall Apart (And I'll Be Yours to Keep)
1856 words. After a tough rescue, both Eddie and Buck end up in the hospital.
title from only love by ben howard. i wrote most of this in one sitting with no beta so just *gestures vaguley* here
They've both been here too many times to count—covered in soot, smoke in their lungs, sweat plastering their hair to their faces, but never at the same time. Never where the other can't be near to see, to place a hand on a shoulder, to lean against in support. A fire in a high-rise, a family trapped on the upper floors, and that's all it took for Buck to grab the ropes, Eddie behind him, because where one goes, the other follows. It's their routine, their deal, the promise to have each other's backs, to support whenever needed, it's just never ended them both in the hospital at the same time.
Eddie is the first one released—Buck had been the first to go in, and made sure that Eddie was out before him, because of course he did. And maybe Eddie should've insisted that Buck get out before him, should've argued with him for an extra five seconds, should've done something so that Buck doesn't have to spend the night in the hospital alone. But he didn't, and now Eddie is being sent home and the doctor is refusing to let him see Buck.
"Mr. Diaz," the doctor says, "Your friend is fine."
Eddie wants to argue with her, because friend? Friend? Like Buck and Eddie have been anything but friends for a long time. Like Buck isn't laying in a hospital bed alone, when Eddie should be there to support him. Like by denying him seeing Buck, all the smoke that was in Eddie's lungs returns and it's almost impossible to breathe for the second time tonight.
"He's asleep now and resting," she continues when Eddie opens his mouth to argue, "Which you should be doing, too. You need to go home and rest, you can come see him in the morning."
"But—"
"Mr. Diaz," she cuts him off, remaining polite, but obviously frustrated, "Visiting hours have been over for a long time, and Mr. Buckley will be discharged in the morning. Someone will give you a call, and you can pick him up then."
The doctor's tone is one of finality, but Eddie can't take no for an answer. Before he can continue pleading his case, Bobby arrives. He comes over to Eddie and the doctor, placing a reassuring hand on Eddie's shoulder. "I've got it from here, thanks doc," he says, before steering Eddie toward the exit. They've barely made it out the doors before Eddie shakes Bobby's hand from his shoulder, and turns on him.
"Bobby," he all but begs, "You have to let me see him. They brought us in at the same time, but I haven't seen him since. I know it's smoke inhalation, and probably some fatigue and dehydration, but they won't let me see him." Eddie knows how he sounds, knows it's desperate in a way he normally isn't, but it's Buck. It's Buck, who has ended up in hospitals more times than he cares to count, who is his partner, who made sure that Eddie got out of the building first, even knowing it would land him more time here—he can't just leave him behind.
"Eddie," Bobby says as evenly as possible—it's the same tone he uses on distraught spouses, and Eddie wants to cry, "I need you to take a breath for a minute, okay? Just take a moment to calm down, and then we'll figure it out."
And yeah, Eddie probably does need to collect himself, because while smoke inhalation can be serious, Buck is getting exactly the care he needs right now. There's nothing for Eddie to do, yet it doesn't stop the helplessness that's settled in the space between his ribs, which only worsened after the doctor told him he was being discharged without Buck. So, Eddie shuts his eyes, and allows himself a few moments to just breathe, to focus on the air entering and then leaving his lungs, to focus on the feeling of his chest rising and falling. It helps steady him, helps him come back to a relatively even keel.
"Are you good to drive?" Is the first thing that Bobby asks once Eddie opens his eyes. He doesn't think he can talk without freaking out again, so he nods his response. "Okay, good. What's going to happen is I'm going to drive you back to the station, you're going to get your truck, take it home, see Christopher, and go to sleep. Because the doctor was right, you need to rest. And in the morning, when the hospital calls you, you'll go pick up Buck. Sound like a plan?"
Now that he's calmed down and the adrenaline that's been keeping him alert has worn off, Eddie feels a deep tiredness settle in his bones, and it takes all his remaining energy to stay on his feet. Again, Eddie nods in response, walks over to the car, and says, "Take me to the station, Cap." And that's what Bobby does.
Normally, when one of the crew returns from the hospital, the rest of the shift is there to greet them, but no one is there when Eddie arrives, and he's grateful. His nerves are fried, he's exhausted, and he doesn’t think he could handle the team's questions right now. All he wants to do is shower, grab his bag, and go home—thankfully, he's able to do that without even hearing the low hum of conversation that's ever present in the loft.
Eddie is locking the front door behind him and taking off his shoes while he debates whether or not to wake Chris just so he can give him a hug. It's only when he's finally made it to Chris' door that he has his answer—not because he came to a decision himself, but because one was made for him.
Chris' bed is empty, and for a heartbeat Eddie panics, because Christopher isn't in his bed, but then he remembers: he was injured on hour twelve of a twenty-four-hour shift, so of course Chris isn't here. And Eddie should feel relieved, should feel calmer now, but all he can think about is the fact that he can't see his son, and he can't see Buck, and suddenly it's like the anchors that were holding his mooring in place have let go, and he's adrift.
Eddie tries to breathe, tries to remind himself that both his boys are okay, they're both being looked after, they're both safe. He goes to the kitchen, fills a glass with water, and drinks it all in one go. He fills it again, this time bringing it to his room, setting it down on the table beside his bed. Eddie changes into an old t-shirt that Buck left behind ages ago and an old pair of army sweatpants before he slides into bed.
Now that he's home and in bed, the exhaustion should be catching up with him, all but dragging him to sleep. Except, now that Eddie's alone, he can't stop thinking about how quiet the house is, how empty it feels. Even on nights when Chris is away at a sleepover, Buck would always come over, and they'd watch a movie, or a hockey game, or just talk over beers. The negative space, normally filled by laughter and jokes and, god, even Buck's snoring in his ear, feels like a noose around his neck. No matter what he does, Eddie just cannot sleep.
So, Eddie lays in bed and does his best not to think about the call that ended him up here, and Buck alone in the hospital. Does his best not to think about how he should have told Buck to take the daughter out while he got the father. Does his best not to think about how Buck removed his mask to help the victim breathe, and putting himself in danger. A shuddering sob rips through his chest, and he forces himself to sit up because he needs to get air in his lungs or he'll choke on his guilt and fear.
The clock on beside his bed reads quarter after five, so he figures that's good enough for morning, and gets up. He can't stay in his empty house any longer, so Eddie slips on the worn sweater that he keeps hanging off the back of his door, grabs his keys and wallet, puts on his shoes, and then he's out the door.
The drive to the hospital is quick, but now he has nothing to do but wait. He turns on the radio, but keeps it low so that it's just a hum in the background. At some point, Eddie must doze, because the next thing he knows, he's being startled awake by his ringtone and the clock on his dashboard reads half past seven.
"Hello, is this Mr. Di—"
"Yes," he interrupts the caller, not caring how he sounds, "I'm outside."
"Okay, we'll send him to you now." And it's all Eddie can do to mumble a quick thank you before hanging up.
He doesn't go up to the doors, but his truck is parked close enough to the front that Buck can't miss him. Still, he gets out, leans against the driver side door, and waits. It doesn't take long, maybe a minute or two, and Buck is walking out the doors, looking side to side, eyes searching. He's clean, his curls are soft, if a little messy, and his whole face lights up the moment he sees Eddie.
"You look like shit," is the first thing Buck says to him. He comes right up to Eddie, less than a foot away, and Eddie has to clutch his hands together so he doesn't reach out and touch. But even without touching him, the weight that has made a home in Eddie's chest since last night melts away, like it's made of ice and Buck of flame.
"Well," Eddie tries to joke, "Not all of us got our beauty sleep." But he can't hide the heaviness in his voice, he can't help how it wavers now that the tension is gone, he can't help but lower his head.
"Hey, Eddie," Buck says earnestly, taking hands he didn't even realize were shaking in his own.
And it's the softness in his voice, the thumb running over his knuckles, the pulse he can feel once he lets himself grip Buck's wrist, that gives him the strength to answer, "Yeah, Buck?"
"We're okay," Buck tells him, like a promise. Like the answer to a question Eddie hadn't dared ask because it terrified him. Buck's hands move from their grip on Eddie's, one hand sliding around his waist, the other coming to the back of his head.
"Yeah," Eddie whispers into the space between Buck's shoulder and neck, "we're okay."
Buck only holds him tighter now, his lips pressed to Eddie's temple, as he releases a shuttering breath. They stay there, each clutching the other, until they no longer feel adrift, until their moorings are once again anchored in a cove, and no longer lost in the rolling waves of the open ocean.
Hello again Zen! First I just wanna say that you don’t need to apologize about what happened to the other fic. If you ever feel like you wanna reattempt it, just tell me and I’ll send it again. This request is also smut like the last one and I hope that’s ok!
So Bakugou, known by the public as the pro hero Dynamight, has been having it tough at work the past 2 weeks. He knew that technically it was partly his fault. You see, Bakugou is in a secret relationship with one of Japan’s most mischievous villains. Y/n L/n. (Male Reader) Y/n was in reality not necessarily a villain. He was seen as one, but he had never actually killed anybody. He was more the type to steal, start some fights/trouble and occasionally blow up some place. He was more mischievous than evil. Though Bakugou knew that Y/n wasn’t as bad as everyone thought, and he knew that Y/n did love him. He just had a bit of history.. With that being said: Bakugou had been having it rough lately because his secret boyfriend had been at it like crazy. He also knew that Y/n was intentionally making things difficult for him. So when he was on his patrol and got an emergency signal about trouble just a few blocks away, boy was he ready to hunt Y/n down! Once he saw him he immediately chased him into an alleyway. Y/n had escaped and ran into an abandoned apartment. He thought he was safe. But when he turned around, he wasn’t so lucky. Shit.. Bakugou was ready to completely ravage and take out all of his frustrations on Y/n, as he had him trapped with nowhere to run.
This one could be considered Revenge/Angry S*x. It’s not non-con since Y/n clearly knew what he was in for, and Bakugou wouldn’t do anything incase Y/n seriously stopped him. The request was kinda long, sorry about that lol. If you don’t feel like writing it then it’s fine, and if you’d like to switch some things up then feel free to do so! Also, don’t feel rushed and take your time. Have a nice day/night! :>
Summary: I'm not a dark blogger, but this req is honestly too amazing. I will change some things as to not make it exactly dark though— And thank you for being patient with me and the recent incident. 💛
Y/N L/N. A name that was a hassle to spit out. Your name was spoke like a horrid sickness spreading west to east. All you were was some mildly lowlife starting cat fights on the streets of Japan. It usually happens at night, and that's also when you strike 24 hour open corner stores. Quite fun to be honest. Your skill being up to par of a spy since your original outing clothing you were seen with was mostly black. Your hair was dyed a certain way after a long past incident though, kinda making you stick out overall you camflouged into the night.
Your pro hero, hot headed, stress filled, boyfriend however, was gold spoon in it's prime. A pro hero who was rich with fame. Oh god he had it all in your eyes. You sometimes cried with tears of joyfulness just at the mere slick thought you were dating him. Not no female who just as good looking, like Creati. No, none of that. It's not like he would change that spite his efforts of frustration with your recent activities these part two years.
The streets are terrific to you for these two years though. Everything is nearly breakable and easily fixed with community money. You would think it was community money atleast. All is good since you made sure to leave your mark with explosives.
Hence your love and passion for your lover, you would smuggle cheap fireworks and set them off at random areas of the late hours. The most recent one being pulled off near a school and and anyone could imagine how the headlines went. The news was erratic with wow and terror of where the explosion even came from, who set it off. Little did they obviously not know —
It was pro hero, Katsuki Bakugous boyfriend.
--
On to other things. Bakugou was in a meeting. Apparently he was being caught up with some warning of a manic villain roaming the streets and city alone.
"So what ?" The room was silent as all eyes transferred front to the back where he sat. Eye bags slightly visible of how stressed he really was after the news confirmed he was.
A co-worker of his, Kirishima raised his hand in apparent anxiousness. "Um", he coughed into his fist before speaking again. "Well, Bakubro he has been going at it for nearly 2 years. No one even know what he looks like, hell man." Starting to get his voice back he finally said, "We probably don't even know if he is a he !" The rooms tension was held up to a few more minutes before Bakugou just got up and walked out.
Another co-worker of his, Mina sparked up and said, "Where are you going !" Her words fell on deaf ears as he was already gone.
Heavy weighted footsteps of his boots were heard along the agency's hallways as people made sure to step out of his way. Grabbing his stuff most important for his next move being his car keys. His brain hurt of how fucking frustrating it is to be held back from work because of his delinquent boyfriend wants to treat the world as a damn playground. He couldn't take it! The stress and anxiety he kept for 2 years was just high enough for him to fuck one out. And he might just.
Just because those assholes didn't know where to find you, doesn't mean he can't. You were always close to a rundown apartment in an alleyway doctoring up a new firework of your own or anything remotely for distruction.
And there you were. In a damn corner completely unaware of the 6 foot presence behind you. Horny and exhausted was a nasty mix for anyone and Bakugou is a worse case as he grabbed you by your arm turning you around.
Alert entered your mind as you nearly, by a measly hair burnt him with a match you had. Why was here was all you could ask yourself, feeling his dramatic hot pants near your neck.
"Why-" No time for speaking when he was highly eager to ravage your ass. You knew how he was from time time since you've met him and because of this you have gotten the worst and the best of him. Sex and life alone was hot and dangerous between the both of you.
His lips marked yours up with a grunt of his own making it seem as if he was feasting on your chapped ones. The dryness making it sting sweetly only adding to the arousal you now felt for yourself. Kissing him. Him not taking his time as he will easily swallow his food without chewing.
"I'm fucking pissed." He snapped. This version of him was the only version you couldn't take. No type of convincing could make an outsider believe your actions to one another was not non consensual. His slightly bigger form compared to your own was trifling as it was pressed up to your chest.
After minutes of searching eachothers mouths with fever and rush he finally stripped himself from his pants. You caught a rare glimpse of how hard he really was. Now this was irritating you at this point. You were no sore loser, but if someone ever took something from you like candy it would easily be endgame.
"Stop fucking pouting. I just got out of a meeting early", he adjusted his position a bit. "To fuck your meddling ass." He closed the space between you two as his cologne and natural scenticked your senses. A shiver went down your spine like a fresh cold drop of sweat as you backed away into the corner. He followed that and smirked. You couldn't be serious.
"Turn around. I wanna see it." He huffed, impatiently. You obviously did what you were told. No time in making him even more pissed. He admired your obedience when it came to your relationship. Only if you could follow that up in turning yourself in. Sadly you were too prideful, probably why you both have an odd ball bond with eachother.
Like lightning your pants were down just like his as he slapped your ass with a strikingly heavy hand. Watching your arse slightly move was guilty enjoyment of his own.
"Ah !" You covered your mouth quickly in fear of his scolding. Number 1 rule of him when frustrated was that on all accounts. Don't. Fucking. Make. A. Peep. That reminder did not fail to make you turn back with pleading eyes with him looking back at you with pliant disbelief.
"Yer' really trying to fuckin' test me, yeah ?" He asked. Not loud how he usually is, but a lower octave with a nonchalant expression. He was tired. Tired of your prideful denial of going to jail. Tired of these late damn meetings at the agency. Tired of his parents calling him because he was doing this to himself. He was fucking exhausted of it all. His top tier was you especially.
That's completely fine though. He can sex all of this out on his handsome villain boyfriend.
Y/N fucking L/N.
Tumblr media
I hope this is fine, again I'm not a dark blog so if I wrote this along with the req it would get a bit dark. { I love dark blogs so it would be a whole series 💀. }
Summary: When having a fever and being caught in the rain, you’re bound to be freezing and in need of heat. And what better way to get warmed up than by sharing a bed with your boss?
You and Aaron Hotchner had never gotten along as well as co-workers should in your line of work. You were great agents, great people, when you were separated. But when you were together… Well, let’s just say that it was never a pretty sight.
You had joined the BAU around the same time and despite only being beginners back then, you were both great at what you did. But putting you together on your first job was everything but a match made in heaven.
You were a bit younger than him and you were used to being criticized by men your entire life, so when working with Hotch turned out to be no different, you became competitive and determined to show your worth to him and your fellow agents.
You could easily just shoot your enemy if you ever felt threatened in the field, but when it came to Hotch, your co-worker, your only line of defense was your quick-witted sarcasm.
In Hotch’s eyes, you behaved like a child from the start and he wanted nothing more than to just have you transferred, but the longer you worked together, the more used to it he got.
He still didn’t like it though, not one bit, but it was bearable back when you’d had Gideon to step in and calmly settle your differences whenever those popped up. Which, let’s be honest, was often.
But now he was gone and Hotch had stepped up to take the leading position, and even though you hadn’t been interested in that position, yourself, you hated that he now had the higher ground and the perfect shot to make your life a living hell just like you had, knowingly, made his.
If you wanted to go to the crime scene, he sent you to question potential witnesses. If you wanted to question potential witnesses, he sent you to the crime scene. If you specifically asked to do something, he made you do the exact opposite and if you specifically asked not to do something, that’s exactly what he forced you to do. And now that he was your superior rather than your equal, you were in no place to argue, no matter how much you wanted to.
You wouldn’t go as far as to say you hated each other; you respected him and he respected you, but you just couldn’t stand each other and the way the two of you always seemed to criticize the other’s capability of getting the job done.
He always underestimated you and condescendingly shook his head at your every move, and you just couldn’t help but run your mouth about how he did everything wrong when you were with him.
It could be amusing to see you bicker, to say the least, but eventually, the team was starting to get tired of the way your disagreements and inability to work together was constantly threatening to ruin the case, so they were more than relieved when, finally, the two of you were beginning to settle down.
When Haley filed for a divorce, you were the only one on the team who didn’t change your entire persona. While the others walked on eggshells around him, always afraid to say the wrong thing and make him snap, you remained your usual big-mouthed, snarky self, never letting him catch a break.
Up until then, you had never been anything other than a major pain in his ass, but under these circumstances, the fact that you didn’t go out of your way to feel sorry for him provided a kind of security for him.
You approached him about it once after a case on which he had shown himself more agitated and reckless than usual, telling him that he could talk to you if he wanted to, but after that, you just left him alone to deal with everything the way he wanted to.
Knowing he had the support but also being given the choice to choose on his own rather than having the support forced upon him was just what he needed and in your own, dysfunctional way, you grew closer because of it.
He started to willingly take you along during cases while he sent the others to deal with other aspects, as opposed to the past where the last thing he wanted was to be stuck with just you, knowing you’d find some way to go against his wishes just to spite him.
He’d always known that you were a great person and an even greater agent and profiler, even though he would never admit it out loud, but it was only after his divorce that he really came to see you in a different light.
However, despite his newfound fondness of you, there were still rules to be followed; ones he, as a leader, could not look past if broken.
One of the most important rules were that you couldn’t get attached or emotionally involved in a case. Being able to remain objective was of the utmost importance in order to not risk jeopardizing the entire investigation and this specifically, you’d never had a problem with.
You felt for the families and victims of course, but you knew that in order to do your job, you had to close yourself off to the grief they were feeling. Struggling with this was more common for the others on the team, but you did alright.
But then there was the rule that emphasized the importance of staying at home or at least in the office if you ever happened to get sick, and the most important rule, at least for you, not to lie or go against your boss’s orders. And you had broken both of them.
It had started out with a light cough and a runny nose; nothing too alarming seeing as it could easily pass for allergies, which just so happened to be the excuse you used when confronted about it.
Eventually the cough disappeared and your nose dried up, leading you to believe that the excuse you had been telling everyone for three days straight could actually be the truth, but then came the fever, out of nowhere in the middle of the night.
You laid awake trembling and sweating through your sheets both at the same time, and yet, you pulled your ass out of bed the next morning and got to work, completely ignoring the fact that you were obviously not well.
And as was only natural, the light fever got worse and brought several other complications with it as you kept pushing yourself in the field. You became short of breath easier and your ears started hurting, bringing back the terrible memories from your childhood back when you’d get the worst ear infections on a frequent basis for years.
But you’d just been invited into a new case, one that took longer than they usually did and one that you just so happened to get attached to, against your better judgement. You kept getting sicker and you tried your hardest to hide it, because you just couldn’t leave your team in those desperate times.
You were also, as you always had been, too stubborn to admit the fact that you needed help and rest, and so you sucked it up and pretended that you were fine, something that seemed to go unnoticed as the others were just as caught up in the job and determined to get to the bottom of the case as you were.
And you did, get to the bottom of it, as you always did. You solved the case, identified and tracked down the unsub and went in for the arrest.
Hotch and Prentiss went around the back and you and Reid went in through the house while Morgan and Rossi stood by the police cars, waiting for Hotch’s orders to come in.
You and Reid were the ones to find the man first, catching him off-guard and holding him at gunpoint until Hotch and Prentiss appeared from the back and handcuffed him.
You were able to complete the arrest and save the hostage before anything could happen to her, and luckily, the state you were in hadn’t affected the case nor your ability to work.
But once everything was safe, you subconsciously let down the façade you had been putting on for the past few days and as you walked out of the house, a sudden wave of dizziness hit you and sent you falling to the ground before you had even reached the cars.
Morgan, having had his eyes on you when you walked out, was the first one to witness it and rushed to your side, alerting your fellow team members. By then, you were knocked out cold from the exhaustion and as the medics at the scene rushed up, they noted aloud that you had a very high fever and had to get to the hospital.
You were rushed there in the ambulance that had originally been for the hostage should she have needed to be treated, and as you laid unconscious, Hotch sat by your side, glaring at you despite the fact that you couldn’t even see it.
Luckily, your carelessness hadn’t come in the way of the case as you hadn’t hit rock bottom until it was all over, but in a worst case scenario it could’ve affected your ability to properly do your job which was exactly why the rules said you couldn’t work when sick.
But despite the fact that everything had worked out, you had gone against the rules by hiding your sickness and working despite it, which was the sole reason of your sudden collapse and also the reason that Hotch was now forced to drive all the way back to Quantico as the doctor hadn’t cleared you for flying with your ear infection, and it was safe to say that he was not happy about it.
“You put the entire team in danger today.” He spoke for the first time since you had sat down in the car, in which you had been seated for the past forty minutes.
Forty, painfully slow minutes of thick and tense silence, both of you just waiting in dread for the argument that was sure to come.
But even then, now that the silence had been broken, you didn’t feel any better.
“I know.” You replied simply from where you sat beside him in the passenger seat.
You stared out the window lazily, slumped in your seat and breathing slowly, each breath fogging up the glass and dimming the view of the darkening sky outside.
Your ears picked up on the sound of crunching leather, no doubt being caused by Hotch’s grip tightening on the steering wheel. “Is that all you have to say?” He asked bitterly. Annoyance was radiating off of him and the tone in his voice only made its existence more evident.
An unintentional sigh of exhaustion left your lips and for the first time, you dared to turn your head to look at him. “What do you want me to do?” You asked. “I made a mistake and I’m sorry.”
“Sorry doesn’t cut it.” He wasted no time in answering, not even bothering to look at you, and this time you could see with your own eyes how his grip on the wheel hardened, his knuckles turning white.
You turned your attention back to the window and let out another long breath through your nose, but Hotch was nowhere near finished.
“What if your fever had caused you to black out in the middle of the arrest? You could’ve been ambushed from behind, too weak to fight back, and died. Reid would’ve been on his own, without backup, and could’ve died.”
Once again you turned your head to look at him, your face wiped free of emotion as you stared into his side profile.
“It’s of the utmost importance that we’re always on top of our game. We can not afford to take chances like these. You can’t-“ He sighed, sparing you the briefest of glances. “You can’t lie to me, to us, about the state of your health. By doing so, not only are you endangering yourself, but you’re endangering us all. The team, and the hostages. I won’t be able to look past this, my hands will be tied of it comes down to an evaluation.”
He wanted you to feel guilty and you understood, because you knew that you had been stupid and reckless and that you had behaved inappropriately and done what you just couldn’t do in this line of work. But no matter how deep and thick the guilt settled in the pit of your stomach, you knew his threats of ‘not being able to look past it’ were empty.
After all, he had done the exact same thing on more than one occasion since the divorce; gotten so indulged in the case at hand that he had recklessly and inappropriately broken protocol, because of which he had taken a lot of heat lately.
But still, the string you were still holding on to, the string of getting to keep your job, was short and weak, and the only thing keeping you quiet, something Hotch was taking full advantage of.
He kept scolding you for at least five more minutes, but you weren’t listening to any of it, too distracted by the painful pressure in your ears and completely out of it, barely even able to hang on to reality in your disoriented and feverish state.
The heat in the car was cranked up to the max, and yet you were shivering in your seat, shrinking back into your thin sweater as far as you could in a desperate attempt to preserve your bodily heat.
But no matter how hot your skin was to the touch, you were freezing, and it wasn’t until the weather outside took a complete three-sixty turn, forcing Hotch to put his disapproving scolding on hold in order to concentrate on not driving you into a ditch in the blinding rain, that he took the time to take note of your state.
In any other case you would’ve been all too aware of his eyes on you, but right now, you could barely even stay awake.
The pain in your ears was for the most part gone for the moment, but the fever only seemed to have gotten worse, and it showed in more ways than one. And it was in the way you had barely said a word to him, which was a near never-occurring thing, that Hotch realized that you really weren’t well.
An unsure silence fell as a blanket over the car for a moment as his eyes kept flickering back and forth between the road and you, where you were barely able to keep your own eyes open.
“Are you alright?” He finally questioned and he waited for a long moment for you to answer, and when he got none, he cautiously moved his hand out to touch your knee. “(Y/N).”
Your eyes shot open and your head whipped around to face him at the sound of your name and the feeling of his hand on your leg. “Hm?” You asked in an absent manner, instantly regretting your hasty movements when your head started throbbing.
“Are you alright?” He repeated, eyebrows creasing in worry when you raised your hand to your forehead and closed your eyes.
You took a steady breath, trying to calm your spinning head, before carefully shaking it. “No.”
“Are you ears hurting?”
“My head.” You took another breath, squeezing your eyes shut at the painful jabbing at the side of your head, feeling them sting like they would when you’d spent hours upon hours crying.
Hotch watched from the side as you rubbed your forehead and temples, taking note of how hard you were squeezing your eyes shut and how badly you were shivering. Slowly but surely, he felt the anger he had previously been feeling melting off.
He said nothing else, giving your sullen face a last glance before turning his attention back to the road in front of him. But his hand didn’t move, remaining at your knee where his thumb rubbed soft, absentminded circles as an attempt to offer you some comfort.
For a second it made your heart flutter like never before, but soon enough, you’d forgotten all about it, only being able to focus on how incredibly shitty you were feeling. Not only physically, but mentally too, because Hotch had been right about everything he had said.
You were sweating like crazy, feeling trapped in the car where you couldn’t escape your thoughts and the guilt that was getting bigger by the minute, and you wanted nothing more than to get out and breathe some fresh air.
So when Hotch stopped at a gas station to fill up the tank and get some water and painkillers for your head, you did just that, not even being able to process the fact that the rain was still pouring down until it was too late.
You stood with your back leaned against the car, hugging yourself tightly and shivering even more than before as your clothes were now soaked, but the crisp air felt nice and was a blessing for your aching head.
Hotch came out of the gas station three minutes later and spotted you immediately, wasting no time in breaking into a run in your direction.
“What are you doing?! You’re already sick!” He yelled over the sound of rain harshly colliding into the exterior of the car.
You didn’t have the energy to fight back, simply continuing to rub your forehead. “I’m sorry, it was so stuffed in there, I needed to get out.” You mumbled silently, and he sighed, walking around you to open your car door.
“Get back in the car.” He ordered, and you did as told, allowing him to help you inside and waiting for him to close the door behind you before leaning against it.
He quickly got in in the driver’s seat and wasted no time in starting the car and cranking the heat up the little way further that was possible, throwing the bottle of water and packet of painkillers into the backseat.
“You’re shaking, we need to get you dry and warm.” He said as he fuzzed over you, silently urging you to take off your outer layer and helping you do so.
He drove out of the gas station once you were properly situated again, holding your hands in his in an attempt to warm them up.
You drove for a while longer and soon enough, Hotch took a right and parked the car. But you were half asleep and completely out of it, barely even able to process that he’d left you until the door you were leaning against opened, causing you to fall right into his chest and forcing you awake.
“Here, take this.” He wasted no time in draping you in a thick, scratchy blanket that you’d never seen before.
Nevertheless, you didn’t protest, getting out of the car and staying glued to his side as he walked you in the direction of the hotel you were now apparently parked in front of.
Once you reached the door to the room you guessed he’d fixed you for the night, he unlocked the door, ushered you inside and locked the door behind you.
Out of pure instinct, your hand moved to the light switch right next to the front door, only to discover that the power was out.
You were still dizzy, your skin burning hot but freezing to your core, but you were awake now, and all you wanted was a hot shower, so your second instinct was to head into the bathroom to test the water, and just your luck, the hot water was gone, as well.
Shivering, you turned back to face the entirety of the room, the only light in sight being the light of the moon streaming in through the windows and Hotch’s phone as he used it to find his way around.
“There’s no hot water.” You deadpanned, hugging yourself close and standing still in the middle of the room.
“The power is out and there’s a flood down the road, the woman at the counter said it could take a while for it to return so we’ll have to make do with what we’ve got in the meanwhile and get you out of your wet clothes.” Hotch wasted no time in replying as he busied himself with un-making one of the two beds.
He didn’t even spare you as much as a glance but you watched him for a moment longer, taking in his hurried movements as he ripped the blankets of the bed you presumed would be his, instead placing them on the bed with your name on it.
You knew he could feel your eyes on him, but when he didn’t turn around, you let out a breath through your nose and uncrossed your arms from over your chest, instead beginning to undress yourself.
And let me tell you, that’s not an easy task when you’re shivering like a chihuahua and have an a hundred and three degree fever and the current strength of an infant.
Your arms were heavy, almost too heavy to lift, and your fingers trembled when you began working on the buttons of your shirt. You tried your hardest to see what you were doing but the lack of light in the room made it hard, and the more you strained your eyes, the more intense your headache and dizziness got.
By now, Hotch had finished setting up your bed and turned around to see you struggling, taking a few small steps in your direction.
“Do you need help?” He asked, and you dropped your hands to your sides.
“Yeah.”
He walked up to you and wasted no time in getting to work on your buttons. You watched his face the entire time, even in your feverish daze being able to pick up on how hard he was trying to focus his eyes on his fingers in a respectful manner.
Once the last button came undone, you turned around and allowed him to pull the article of clothing off your body, the snug fabric releasing a creaking sound as it was pulled off your wet skin.
Hotch wordlessly walked over to the desk placed in the room and hung the shirt over the back of a chair, while you went to work on your pants.
Luckily, this piece of clothing only had one button and you managed to get it undone without too much trouble, sitting down on your bed and pulling them off – this part taking a bit more struggle seeing as they were stuck to your skin just like the shirt had been.
But you managed and wasted no time in crawling under the multitude of blankets that Hotch had neatly piled up on the bed, tucking yourself in as tightly as possible and pulling them up to your nose in an attempt to fill the inside of the cocoon with warm air.
It worked to an extent, your skin quickly regaining its previous heat and feeling so hot to the touch that one could’ve easily thought that you were on the verge of burning up.
But it did nothing to warm your core, and no matter how hard you tried keeping the shivers at bay by relaxing your body and keeping your breaths steady, it was to no use.
You laid there in silence for a good moment, becoming unaware of your surroundings once again, including the pair of eyes burning into the side of your face from across the room.
Hotch watched you closely while he followed his own advice and discarded his wet shirt, unbuckling his belt, hanging it on a chair and kicking off his shoes and socks.
Dressed now only in his damp slacks, he moved to grab the bottle of water and painkillers that he’d gotten from the gas station, and continued to the side of your bed, where he crouched down in front of you.
“Take this.” He instructed and you opened your eyes, pushing yourself up with all your might so that you could take the outstretched items from his hand.
You swallowed the pill with two gulps of water and fell right back into bed once he had taken the bottle back, pulling the blankets up to your nose again.
He stood back up to his full height and as a strong shiver went down your spine, the words tumbled out of your mouth before you could stop yourself.
“I need more heat, this isn’t enough. You’ll have to lay with me.”
Hotch’s face pulled into one of mild surprise at the sound of your unexpected words, and he instantly started protesting. “I don’t think-“
But you interrupted, staring up at him with those angry eyes that he so often found himself at the receiving end of. “I’m freezing my ass off and you’re cold, too. I’m not about to let you sleep without blankets. It’s just until the power and hot water comes back.”
He stared back at you, face ever so stoic. “Fine.” He gave in, and only then did you soften your glare.
You closed your eyes as he began removing his pants, slowly scooting back on the bed to make room for him, and you couldn’t help but let out a breath of relief when he lifted the covers and slid in next to you.
Your skin was hot with fever but somehow, his was even hotter, burning you to the touch.
You were still freezing, but as he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close, you instantly found it easier to relax, your shivering toning down a great deal.
Out of pure instinct, you snuggled further into his chest and you could feel on the stiffness of his body that he was uncomfortable and unsure of how to react in the situation you’d so inconveniently found yourself in.
Opening your eyes as far as your heavy eyelids would let you, you found him to be staring up into the roof. But the second he felt your heavy gaze on him, he turned his head to the side to meet your eyes.
Heat flushed through your entire body and you had been aroused enough times to recognize the feeling.
You knew all of this had started off innocent, a person simply trying to warm up another person as an act of kindness and basic human decency, and you never would’ve had these impure thoughts about him in any other situation, but your body was reacting on its own to the feeling of his skin against yours, and so was his.
Your faces were close to each other, mere inches apart, and before you were able to stop yourself, you leaned in closer and brushed your lips against his.
He retaliated immediately, pulling back and looking down at you with an unreadable expression written all over his face.
He told himself that the fever was making you confused and disoriented, but when you moved back in for a second attempt, this time with a lot more clarity in your eyes and confidence in your movements, he didn’t pull back.
You remained still for the entirety of the kiss, your lips just pressed against each other’s with little to no extended movements. When you came apart again, your breaths were heavy but the sound of your heart beating loudly in your ears was the only thing you could hear.
You stared into each other’s eyes and your eyes momentarily fluttered shut when he brought his hand up and grazed your lower lip with his thumb.
And then his lips were on yours again, and this time you just kept going.
His hands cradled your face and you laid down flat on your back, wrapping your arms around his neck and opening your legs to allow him to move on top of you. You pulled him impossibly close, a surge of sudden energy bursting through your entire body.
He was a gentleman at heart but he didn’t bother asking you if you were sure, knowing better than anyone that you were more than capable of telling him if you weren’t. You were both adults, you knew exactly what you were doing.
You’d had your fair share of rendezvouses throughout your life, but none had left you feeling like this.
Passion, desperation, fervor, urgency, impatience, hunger, eagerness, and every single other synonym that could be used to describe the lustful attraction between two people were currently battling in your body.
But more present than any other feeling was the anger; anger directed at you, fueled by the way you had put yourself and your entire team at risk by lying about the state of your health, and anger directed at him, fueled by the way he had always underestimated you and doubted your abilities.
You were both furious in all ways possible and neither of you had any plans on stopping, his hands already making their way down your body and heading straight for the direction of the place where you needed him the most.
His hands were warm but yours were cold, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake as they traveled his arms, chest, shoulders and neck.
One of your hands stayed at his neck, tracing light touches over his throat and jaw, while the other one moved down the length of your own body to meet with his where it was hovering above the line of your underwear.
You grabbed a hold of it and pushed his palm flat against the bottom of your stomach, urging him to continue, and he didn’t waste a second, dipping his hand inside the waistband of the thin fabric that was still wet from the rain and resting uncomfortably against your skin.
Breath getting caught in your throat and heart palpitating in your chest, you pushed your head back into the pillow, your eyes falling shut at the pleasurable feeling of his fingers finding your core, your lips coming apart in the process.
Instead, his face bent down and nuzzled the crook of your neck, lips leaving slow kisses behind as he adjusted his hand.
It obviously wasn’t going as smoothly as he’d like though, the wet fabric getting caught on his skin and causing a frustrated sound to escape his throat.
“These need to go.” He mumbled into the skin of your shoulder and you eagerly nodded, completely ignoring the headache that was still going strong.
You raised your hips to allow him access, and he wasted no time in pushing the underwear off your legs, leaving you to shake them off your feet.
They got lost somewhere underneath the numerous blankets but you couldn’t care less, your hands hurrying down to the waistband of his boxers.
He drew in a breath at the feeling of your icy cold fingers, but made no move to stop you, helping you in ridding himself of the only remaining clothing he had on and then moving on to unclasp your bra, carelessly throwing it onto the floor and latching his lips back onto yours.
His hand returned to your heat and just like he had done mere seconds before, you sucked in a sharp breath as his fingers dipped in, running a line up your folds before pushing their way inside.
He hooked his finger down into your entrance to gather some of your wetness, bringing it up all the way along your slit and stopping only when he reached the sensitive bundle of nerves that was just throbbing with need.
That’s when the first moan of many to come left your lips, being muffled into the kiss and your stomach exploding with butterflies.
But just like with any other aspect of your life, you were impatient, so when he pushed a finger inside of you, you broke free of the kiss and shook your head, reaching your hand down to stop him by his wrist.
“No, you’re going too slow.” You panted, pulling his hand away and looking into his darkened eyes. “I need you, now.”
Your voice thinned into a whisper toward the end and you brought your hands back up to his face.
He remained still for a few seconds, just looking at you with his usual stoic expression and pursed lips, but the soon dipped down to meet your face again, brushing his lips against yours so lightly you could barely feel it, before pressing down with more force.
What started off as a close-mothed kiss quickly turned into an open-mouthed one, and you moved down on the mattress, raising your legs to wrap them around his waist as he positioned himself at your entrance.
He wasn’t fully erected yet, as was to be expected seeing as you had barely touched him and things had moved so quickly, but the second he was fully sheathed inside of you, that changed in an instant.
The feeling of being filled so perfectly caused your face to screw up in pleasure and he couldn’t help but let a small groan slip past his lips, really showing how long it had been since he last partook in sexual activities.
But he wasn’t the only one who had gone untouched for a long period of time. When you worked a job as stressful and time-consuming as yours, it was hard to find enough spare time to get out and meet any potential lovers, so it was safe to say that it had been just as long for you as it had for him and it didn’t take long for you to let out a moan to match his own.
He wasted no time in starting to move, encouraged to do so by the way your legs tightened around his hips to pull him in deeper.
You clung to him with all your might as he slowly but surely picked up his pace and found a good rhythm, squeezing your eyes shut and being reminded of the fever you still had when feeling the brims of your eyes sting.
Your hands moved to grasp at the back of his head and you pressed your lips against his, baiting a groan from his throat when tightening your grip on the strands of raven hair you held between your fingers.
His movements were confident and his lips moved skillfully from yours to your jaw, down to your neck before settling in the crook of your neck.
One of his hands moved from the mattress to hold on to the headboard of the bed and his toned arm flexing and unflexing right over your face was without a doubt the most attractive sight you’d ever seen.
“Hotch...” You moaned out between thrusts, and he grumbled in return.
“Aaron.” He corrected you darkly, and you drew in a gasp of air at the sound.
“Aaron-” You began repeating, but was quickly cut off by your own moan and after that, no more words were spoken.
The heavy breaths he released in the crook between your neck and shoulder only added to the already existing dampness on your skin, courtesy of the fever that you had almost forgotten was still there, and it was only now that the heat that had previously been restricted to the outer layer of your skin caught up with the rest of your body and made its way into your core.
The only sounds that could be heard was the heavy rain smattering on the metal ceiling outside your room, mixing in with the pants and low moans and groans escaping your lips, the creaking of the headboard that Hotch was holding on to for dear life, and the slapping of skin on skin.
He didn’t slow down once and not as much as a word was spoken, every emotion and feeling instead being voiced in sounds of pleasure and the occasional kiss when he brought his head up from your neck for air.
You got completely lost in the pleasure and you had no idea how long you went on for, but soon enough, you were beginning to get sore, the pleasure starting to switch into a mild discomfort.
But as if right on cue, the guttural groans muffling into your damp skin became more frequent, and before you knew it, Hotch’s entire body tensed up as he reached his climax and released inside of you.
But you weren’t quite there yet, never having been able to orgasm just by penetration.
You didn’t know how he was able to do both at the same time, but as he rode out his high, Hotch brought his hand down from the headboard and in between your bodies at the same time, heading right for the throbbing bundle of nerves where he wasted no time in getting to work.
That was the final touch you needed for your stomach to begin to turn. The combination of the way he was hitting the perfect spot over and over again and his thumb showing no mercy was so intense that you reached your high in no time.
You pressed your face into his neck just like he was doing yours, your fingers tugging on his hair so harshly that you probably crossed the line between pleasurable and painful. But he didn’t make note on it, picking up his pace as a string of curses left your lips, blending with your moans and mixing with his name, something he was clearly liking the sound of.
And just as you toppled of the edge, bright flashes flashing on the inside of your eyelids as your entire stomach pulled into a tight knot, the lights in the ceiling of the room flashed as well, the radiator over by the window buzzing to life as the power returned.
Talk about timing.
He kept on pumping into you with sloppy, lazy thrusts as you rode out your high and as soon as he felt you relax around him again, his entire body slumped against yours in a moment of exhaustion.
You laid limp, chest rising and falling in quick pants as you caught your breath. His hand moved up to hold himself upright by the head of the bed and your hands remained at the back of his neck, fingers gently pulling through his hair that was now damp with sweat.
After a moment of silence, he moved off of you, allowing you to properly breathe.
“How’s your head?” He asked.
His voice was strained and it was clear that now that the arousal was gone and everything was over and done with, neither of you had any idea of how to act.
Pulling one of the blankets up to your shoulders and holding it in place over you previously exposed chest, you cleared your throat.
“All good.” You replied breathlessly and just then, reality came crashing back down, an involuntary shiver going down your spine and rocking your entire body as it became aware of the chilliness of the air around you.
He caught on to this at once and turned his head to look at you with a deadpanned expression. “You’re still shivering, you should go take a warm shower before you go to sleep.”
His words brought a small snort from your lips. “I’m not shivering, I’m trembling. There’s a difference.” You answered, raising an eyebrow. “But I won’t say no to a shower.” You sighed, and as you wasted no time in beginning to get out of the bed, Hotch averted his eyes to the roof to give you some privacy.
The cold air hit you like a train when you removed the blankets from your body, your shivers becoming worse now with the layer of drying sweat on your skin.
It wasn’t until you stood up that the fever came crashing down on you with full force again, a spell of hot dizziness taking over you. You had to hold on to the wall beside the bed to regain your composure and once you did, you began walking, only then realizing how sore you really were.
As quickly as your quivering legs would take you, you walked into the bathroom and flicked on the light in the ceiling before heading straight for the shower.
As you turned on the faucet this time, you were pleased to discovered that the hot water had returned along with the power, and you closed your eyes in satisfaction even when the water had yet to touch any other part of your body than your fingers.
You remained standing there for a moment, holding yourself upright by the sink while waiting for the water to reach the perfect temperature.
You then brought your hand back to yourself and turned back around as you let the water run behind you.
Hotch was still in your bed, now having moved into a sitting position and absentmindedly fiddling with the watch on his wrist, seeming to be deep in thought.
And you were a profiler. You could tell with no struggle at all what was bothering him; guilt, most likely directed toward Haley as he had just been with another woman for the first time since the divorce.
The fact made you feel all kinds of feelings, and you slowly walked back to the doorway, on which you leaned as you continued watching him from a distance.
“I’m still really cold, you know.” You commented lamely, hoping that he’d take the hint on what you were trying to say.
His head slowly turned in your direction, his eyes tired and lips pulled into a straight line. His eyes wandered your still naked form for the briefest of second, but he quickly caught himself and averted them to yours.
“I thought you said you weren’t cold anymore.” He answered in a monotone voice, and you raised your eyebrows in return.
“Did I? I don’t think I did.” You played, absentmindedly tapping your fingers against the wooden doorframe.
He stared at you for a second, not seeming to care about you in the slightest anymore. But tthe way his lips then pulled into a small smile when looking at you showed you that he did, in fact, catch on to your intent.
And when he wordlessly got out of bed and started walking in your direction, leading you into the shower with a featherlight touch to the small of your back, you knew for a fact that the moment of passion you had just shared had been much more than just an act executed in the heat of the moment.
But if you thought that you were off the hook regarding your irresponsible behavior during the case just because you now happened to have your boss wrapped around your finger, you had another thing coming.
“I don’t know why I’m crying I-I’m sorry” // angst and fluff ♥︎
hi... i kind of wrote a small fic with that prompt. you can read it here or on ao3! thanks for this i really needed the motivation. i decided to write something about what happened after 8x06! <3
Amy arrives home a little later than usual that night, overwhelmed with the events of the last few days. There are so many things to process, though the only thing she can focus on at the moment, is her husband’s suspension. She knows Jake very well, and most likely he’ll try to hide his sadness and pretend he’s fine, not because he thinks he’s weak but because he doesn’t want Amy to worry about him. Yet, she can’t help to wonder how he’s taking it.
Not knowing what to expect as she enters their apartment, Amy tosses her keys onto the couch sadly, too distracted to place them on the key hook. Jake is nowhere to be seen, so she figures he must be putting Mac to sleep, since it’s past ten already, and there are no toys scattered around the floor.
Indeed, she finds Jake whispering to his son, who lies in his crib, babbling and very, very awake, even though the lights are dimmed and it’s quiet in there.
“Hey,” Amy says softly.
Despite her tone, Jake startles, turning around, but immediately relaxes when he sees it’s just her. “Ames,” he breathes, looking down at Mac and then back at his wife, guilt taking over his features. “I kind of let him take a nap earlier and now he can’t sleep…”
“It’s okay,” Amy says, shrugging. She wants to add something else to reassure him, but her mind’s entirely blank, so she settles for a casual question. “What did you two have for dinner?”
Jake smiles. “He tried scrambled eggs for the first time. I know it’s technically breakfast food, but I read he can eat them now, plus it’s what I cook best.”
“And?”
“He loved them, duh.”
Amy chuckles. “Of course. Did you have some too?”
“I… wasn’t really hungry.”
“Oh. Well, I haven’t eaten either. We can heat some leftovers if you want.”
Jake nods with a weak smile, which widens as he turns to check on Mac. “Hey, he’s asleep! Maybe he just needed to make sure mama arrived home safe.”
Amy leans over to look at her sleeping son. Mac looks so much like his dad, when he laughs or smiles—which he’s been doing recently a lot—but especially when he’s asleep and completely peaceful.
She turns to see Jake staring at their baby with a proud smile and it warms her heart. Perhaps he’s forgotten about the suspension.
“Leftovers, then?” she whispers after a while, grabbing him by the wrist to pull him a little closer to her.
“Sure,” he says, throwing a last glance at Mac before following Amy out of their room and closing the door behind him. They’ve learned to make as little noise as possible in the last ten months, so their voices are barely above a whisper by default whenever Mac is asleep.
As it’s routine, Jake turns on the TV, not choosing a channel, and mutes it before joining Amy in the kitchen, while she gets the food from the fridge and puts it in the microwave.
From the corner of her eye, she can see Jake leaning against the counter in an awkward pose, staring at her almost anxiously.
Amy has no idea how to ask the question she’s been wanting to ask him since she got there, so she takes a deep breath and turns to him. “Babe, are you… okay with it?”
His expression tells her he’s been dreading her to ask. Yet, he plays dumb. “With what?”
“With everything that happened. Your suspension…”
“Oh,” Jake spats after what seems like hours, as if every emotion he was supposed to be feeling before was just settling in. Amy’s stomach drops. These subjects might not be her thing. “It’s fine. I suppose I can talk about it, but is it necessary?”
She shrugs. “Just tell me.” Her voice is as soft as it can be. “How do you feel about it?”
Jake puts on a poker face now. She’s usually good at reading him, but she can’t tell what he’s thinking. Amy knows how much he enjoys his job. Everything had happened so fast, though, at some point she’d lost track of it all. One second he was very excited about his ‘Speed’ situation and then, suddenly, he was in too deep.
To sum it up, it hadn’t gone well.
“I feel weird,” Jake finally admits, looking down. “It feels weird to know I won’t be going back tomorrow. But I’ll… adapt, I guess.”
“I’m sure you will,” she automatically replies, hesitating a little before placing a hand on his chest.
He seems to attempt a smile, but it vanishes right away. “I feel stupid too. Why can’t I listen? Holt told me to stay out of it and I screwed up. I screw up a lot.”
Amy frowns. “Of course you don’t. Sometimes you can be silly, yes, but there’s nothing wrong with it. This time it just… it got out of my hands too. I was really drunk.”
Jake chuckles. “Yeah,” he says shortly, and then swallows. “So five months, huh? It isn’t that much, is it? There are like thirty days in a month so it would be like a hundred days which have twenty-four hours each, so it would be like twenty-four thousand hours.”
“No,” she says, shaking her head with a smile. Math is decidedly not Jake’s strength. “It’s only like… three thousand and seven hundred hours.”
“Oh. That’s… still a lot.”
Amy sighs. His eyes are red, probably with exhaustion, and she can’t recognize the emotion behind them. It might be just deep, deep sadness.
“Ames,” he says huskily before she can talk. “What am I gonna do?”
Her eyebrows shot up, but before she can even think of an answer, Jake cuts her off again. “Things were so well yesterday. It makes me think… I can mess everything up so quickly. And it’s always my fault. What am I gonna mess up next?”
“Don’t say that,” she says, her throat knotting. “It’s okay to make mistakes, babe. And you are great at dealing with the consequences. You learn from your mistakes, you’ve always done.”
“Yeah, I keep pushing things until something goes wrong,” he argues in a trembling voice, “and until then I stop, I—” and suddenly that trembling voice breaks.
Amy’s stomach drops again as his eyes tear up, becoming redder. He immediately looks away when he realizes himself.
“Hey,” she says soothingly, cupping his face to make him look at her. “Don’t beat yourself up over this.”
“I’m sorry,” he chokes. “I know it’s a dumb thing to cry over, I just—” once more he’s unable to finish his sentence, pinching his lips shut before his voice can get any louder or high-pitched.
A single tear streams down his cheek.
“It’s not dumb,” Amy says. “If it makes you feel like this, it’s not dumb.”
“Well, I got myself into it—”
“And as I said, you will learn from it. That’s what matters.”
“I’ve been suspended like a thousand times already,” he counters, his tone bitter. "What makes you think it won’t happen again? What makes you think I couldn’t get fired?”
She shrugs, trying to stay calm even though she wants to cry as well. “I wouldn’t be less proud of you than I am today,” she says. “You’ve grown up so much and whatever you have to deal with, I have to deal with too, because I love you and I’m willing to. So please, don’t beat yourself up over this because it’s going to be fine.”
He sniffs. “How can you know that?”
“Because I’ll make sure everything’s fine. You’re not alone, babe. You have me.”
Jake stays in silence for a few seconds, and she thinks he’s going to start sobbing, but his lips curl instead. “I love you so much,” is all he says.
“I love you too,” she mouths back, afraid she’ll begin crying if she talks, and then pulls him into a hug.
They stay like that for a while, maybe five seconds or ten minutes, sinking in a silence that they don’t really mind. She pulls away from his embrace only to wipe his tears away. Jake looks so tired. Exhausted, even. She feels the same way, when minutes ago they were going to watch some TV and have dinner, though now she’s not sure she’s up for it.
Jake must have been thinking the same thing because a small laugh comes from his lips all of a sudden.
“What?” Amy asks, amused.
“I just realized we never even heated the food.”
Amy chuckles, and it only causes him to laugh a little harder. She wonders if it’s the exhaustion making such a simple detail seem so funny, and rests her head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat. It’s calmer now, it could be matching hers.
“Babe,” she says softly.
“Yes?” Jake hums.
“It’s going to be fine. I promise.”
He doesn’t answer right away, and Amy separates, afraid she said the wrong thing, but Jake’s only bowing his head like she said the cheesiest thing in the world.
“I know. Thanks, Ames,” he says, and then adds, “I love you.” Even though she hears those words coming from him at least ten times a day, he manages to make them sound like it’s the first every time.
“I love you too,” Amy whispers, leaning in to kiss his cheek.
Jake is about to return a much longer kiss on the lips when Mac interrupts the moment. Amy squeezes her eyes shut with a knowing smile—this has happened many times before. However, Jake immediately becomes alert and rushes to attend to his son.
Amy chuckles to herself, finally heating the food which is still inside the microwave and turns off the TV, because they are definitely not watching anything before they fall asleep, worn off with the events.
Like Jake would say, they’re sort of an old couple now, but she couldn’t care less. To her, so far, it’s meant that things can be so easy now.
Her husband doesn’t join her back in the kitchen so she goes and checks on him and Mac. The room feels so warm and quiet still, as Jake rocks his son softly, lulling him, again not realizing Amy’s watching. It always seems like he drifts away from reality when he’s trying to make Mac stop crying—and he’s good at it. She doesn’t know what it is, but Jake is great at it.
“I have to admit,” Amy says, startling him of course, “I’m a little jealous of you. You get to spend five months with him, all by yourself.”
Jake gives her what looks like an automatic smile, and then realization hits him. “I hadn’t thought about that before,” he huffs, stroking Mac’s soft curls and looking down at him. “Did you hear that, bud? Five months for only the two of us.”
Mac babbles, and Amy tries to ignore how awake he still sounds. “Careful, Ames,” Jake tells her. “That sounded a lot like ‘dada’, and with these five months? It’s definitely going to be his first word.”
Amy rolls her eyes with a playful smile. “Not if I train him every night.”
“Challenge accepted.”
An hour later they’re both in bed after eating dinner and Amy has already changed into her pajamas. Jake hasn’t stopped rocking Mac, who woke up once more, but his father doesn’t seem to mind, and Amy has the feeling that his suspension doesn’t sound so bad to him anymore.
The air was frozen around you. No breeze or slight wind was present in the slightest, making the atmosphere unsettling. Even the crows were silent, having lost their usual screeching that rang through everyone’s ears throughout the day.
Your adrenaline has been on a constant flow through your veins since you survived the first game. Watching the young high school girl get penetrated by the laser struck a deep chord within you. You couldn’t move a muscle as Karube pulled you into the next room before you were engulfed in flames.
You’ve never experienced anything like this world. Where has everyone gone? Who is running the games? Are there any other players?
A young woman that you met last night at the first game named Shibuki decided to stick by your sides for a while. You all took refuge in an empty mall, considering the amount of resources that would be available to you that could come in handy for some reason or another.
Shibuki sat everyone down after a good night’s sleep and explained the concept of the world you were now trapped in. She had only been present in the game for a little longer than you, but you still put trust in her as she obviously knew more than the four of you.
Your boyfriend Karube, who you happened to be with at the time of everyone’s disappearance, has become more anxious about your safety. Since things started becoming peculiar, he has remained tight to your side, ready to shield you from god knows what.
That was just his personality. Yes, he could be blunt and impatient sometimes, but he honestly did care about Alice, Chota and you more than you guys could have ever imagined. He knew he was the brawn of your small friendship group, so he took it upon himself to be the protector.
But unfortunately, him and Alice were too confident and curious for their own good. Alice and Karube had a private chat on one of the mall balcony's discussing whether they should go to an extra game to gain an idea about how they play out, but also to see if they were able to find any players that had a past in medical fields to perhaps look at Chota’s searing burn injury on his lower right leg.
When it came to the next day, Karube talked to you in private without the others, wanting to have some alone time with you.
“Wait what?” you asked shocked. “You’re going to another game? Karube, I’m sorry but are you an idiot? You saw what happened in the game we went to, you could die at any moment!” you exclaimed at him. Karube went silent from your outburst but tried to reason with you. “Look Y/N, I know you’re worried but Alice and I need to see how this place works so we can protect you and Chota.” he said, placing a hand on your cheek.
“But what about you? Who’s going to protect you?” you remarked. You were scared more than anything. You didn’t want to wake up the next morning to find that Karube and Alice never returned. It would’ve absolutely shattered your heart.
He looked up at you from his position on the bed in remorse. He felt awful putting you through the stress, but he knew he had to do it if you wanted to stay alive for as long as you could.
“Come here,” he said after a short juncture of silence. You glanced at his stressed face before moving towards the bed and placing your thighs comfortably on his lap. He wrapped his strong arms around your frame and held you tightly against him.
It should’ve felt comforting, but at that moment it didn’t. If anything, you were dreading the hug because it felt like a goodbye.
“I’m so sorry baby, but I have to go.” Karube rested his chin on top of your head. “I promise you I will do everything in my power to make sure I come back safe and sound.”
He felt you move your head up and down in a nod against him. You pressed your face into his orange shirt. “I know you’ll come back. A stupid game wouldn’t get rid of you. The world would have to work much harder to kill you off.”
Karube chuckled and pulled back to look into your eyes. “You’re right. I’ll be back before you know it.” he claimed.
You wished that were true. There you were now, standing out on a stone ledge looking over a big part of Shibuya. The lack of hustling and bustling from thousands of people was strange to get accustomed to. It was unsettling, almost frightening.
“Why the fuck did I let them go?” you cursed, letting out a harsh huff of breath. “This is bullshit. They have another day on their visa. We could have all waited until tomorrow to go to another game together.”
You heard Chota let out an agreeing hum from the table he was seated at  behind you. “It does seem a bit pointless now that we’ve had time to stress about it,” he admitted.
You slouched forward, having hoped for at least a positive response from Chota to reassure you. You continued to keep scanning the streets below you, looking for any sign of another person. Anxiety filled your body the more you looked and couldn’t spot him.
“Shit,” you breathed out, rubbing your face with your hands. “Chota, what if they die?”
“Shh, don’t talk like that. They’ll be fine,” he shushed you quickly, trying to keep worse case scenarios out of his head.
Several hours later after the sun had set, you saw the familiar unpleasant light that indicated where the games were. Karube and Alice had left early to try and look for a doctor for Chota’s leg, so you knew they would then be on their way to the game.
Your heart leapt to your throat and stayed there for several hours as you laid on a couch. You couldn’t help but envision awful ways that Karube could possibly be killed. Before you knew it, hot tears began pooling in your orbs and running down your face onto the pillow underneath your head.
“Oh fuck,” you cried, your voice cracking, “Please be okay Karube. I can’t live on in this world without you.” You let out soft little sobs, trying to stay quiet in order not to alert Chota or Shibuki who were in the room over from you.
Quite literally, you cried yourself to sleep. Your eyes became heavier and heavier alongside the irritation that the tears brought. You closed your eyes and allowed yourself to pass out, manifesting the vision of seeing Karube laying next to you when you wake up. He would be unharmed and have the biggest smile on his handsome face, ready to pepper kisses all over your face to make up for all the stress he put you through for going to the game without you.
Soon enough, you woke abruptly from a loud noise coming from the door of the room, watching as it swung open harshly to reveal Alice holding Karube by the arm, acting as a crutch.
Karube stumbled in clutching his side. He glanced up with stained tears of pain in his eyes and smiled when he saw you still half-asleep on the couch.
You widened your eyes in surprise and breathed a sigh of relief. “Oh my god, Karube! Alice! Thank god.”
You scrambled to your feet and rushed over to the two exhausted men to help Alice out with Karube. Karube lifted his arm and wrapped it around you as you crashed into him in a reunion hug. Karube winced heavily from the huge machete wound in his side stinging.
“It’s okay baby, we’re okay,” he comforted you, pushing his face into your hair and breathing in your scent. You felt tears filling your vision again, the relief of seeing Karube safe and sound in your arms again being too overwhelming.
Ten minutes later, after everyone welcomed Alice and Karube back, you and Karube were sitting on the couch while the others searched for something fresh to eat further in the mall (which would be a challenge). Karube was wincing as you lifted up his black t-shirt to take a look at the wound he gained from the tagger in the ‘Tag’ game.
“Shit babe,” you groaned. Luckily it appeared like the machete hadn’t cut too deep into his abdomen. He wouldn’t need stitches, just disinfectant and a tight bandage to stop the blood flow.
Karube watched you as you walked over to the table to grab the disinfectant and medical bandage to use on him. He felt on edge because you hadn’t said much since he’d returned from the game. He was thinking maybe you were agitated with him.
“Y/N,” he said, catching your attention. “I’m sorry I went to the game. I know it was a mistake now,” he admitted, hanging his head low apologetically.
You shook your head disapprovingly and focused back on his wound. “Yeah, it was a mistake. This is the least that could’ve happened Karube.”
He could tell you were annoyed, because you always got smart with him when he’s angered you.
“Now you’re going to be disadvantaged at your next game with this gaping wound in your side.” You stated. You began pouring the rubbing alcohol onto a cloth. “Just warning you, this is going to hurt but try not to squirm too much.”
Karube nodded and held his black t-shirt up so you could disinfect his injury. As you pressed the cloth to the slice, Karube hissed and placed his hand over yours. “Just be gentle,” he stammered.
You nodded and continued to go slow.
After you managed to clean his injury, he stood up so you could wrap the bandage around his abdomen. He stared at you as you did so, smiling to himself about how lucky he was to have you look after him like this.
When you were done, you brushed off your hands and placed the disinfectant back on the table. Karube sat back down and looked at you.
“Thank you Y/N,” he said in a sweet tone. You glanced over your shoulder and saw him gazing at you lovingly. You grinned, being glad that he was okay.
“You’re welcome,” you answered. “Can you promise me something?” you asked, turning around fully to face him. Karube leant forward and rested his elbows on his knees. “Of course, anything for you.”
“If it ever came to a choice between you or me to continue living, you need to promise me that you’ll choose yourself,” you murmured. Karube’s cheeky smile rolled off his face, replaced by a confused expression.
“Why would I do that? I love you. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I survived but you didn’t.” he said sadly, reaching out his arms to invite you into a hug.
You took the invitation and trudged over to him, standing between his legs and letting him wrap his strong arms around your waist while resting his head on your stomach.
“Yeah, I know you would Karube. I feel the same way but, you have a dream and a bright future ahead of you. I wouldn’t want to take that away from you if it came to that.” you ran your fingers through his coarse, bleached blonde hair and he let out a big sigh.
“But my dream is you Y/N. I want to stay with you,” he professed. “I want to leave this place with you, no one else.”
You felt your heart clutch itself in your chest. You felt awful. You didn’t know what to do or say to make things seem better than they were. That was the horrific reality about that world, nothing you could ever say would make things better or more comforting.
“Why don’t we just focus on surviving and keeping each other alive for now and focus on the more serious stuff when it comes to it,” Karube spoke up, resting his chin against your stomach to look up at you with his big dark eyes.
You stared down at him with so much love. You do anything to keep him with you, to keep him happy and safe. Just his eyes alone show the amount of love and care he holds in his blunt heart.
You smiled slowly and nodded your head in agreement. “Of course. Let’s just focus on staying alive right now so we can have many more moments together.”
Author’s Note: I hope this wasn’t too boring. I have a lot of requests for Alice In Borderland lined up so I’ll be working through them and posting them when I can! 💕
