»GET://NOISE« WORKING WITH RI47 HEAVY INDUSTRIES FOR PROFIT AND UNPROFIT
Tumblr media
so, I do feel like I should clarify my actual policy on using my tracks in projects. I do this every now and again, but to be fair, circumstances change pretty often
these aren't blanket licences or anything because honestly a few of these are like... complicated enough that it's literally easier to just talk to someone after the conditions are met and give them permission in writing. in nearly every single case, the first step is "contact me directly and we'll make things work"
if you're working on a project to raise money for Palestinian aid, I am especially interested in working with you. of course, I will be checking to make sure the money is actually going to help the people it's supposed to, as I'm unfortunately aware of how many people are trying to take advantage of these tragedies for their own benefit
a case-by-case reference with slightly more detail is included below
-
if you want to download Ri47 music to listen to but can't afford it... legally, I care that you pirate my music. personally, never tell me about it. I don't want to see that, I'm not signed to a label that seeks out uses of my music, and I understand that the international economy is in shambles. ideologically, I am pro-piracy. don't do anything that will legally force me to care (using my work in a commercial project without permission, for example) and we'll both keep on living our lives as we were
if you want to remix a Ri47 track and need stems… I don't have the stems either. I'm bad at recordkeeping, tune my samples by ear, and primarily do my own last pass of mixing in audacity. I might have some stems kicking around, but the odds are that I'm as empty-handed as you are. sorry about that lol
if you want to use a Ri47 song in your freeware (read: not for sale) project... that's probably fine. contact me first, not because I'm going to spring a fee on you, but because a few of my songs are already licensed out to projects that make it a little more challenging to hand them out. this is mostly applicable if you're making rpgmaker games you don't intend on selling
if you want to use a Ri47 song in your small-scale commercial project... if you're making a promo video for a stream, need music for a podcast, or anything like that, contact me first. in almost every case, as long as what you're making isn't a persistent standalone work (read: something you are selling directly, with my music as part of the package) the most I'll usually ask is that you buy one copy of the album
if you want to use a Ri47 song in a more serious commercial project... you can contact me directly to get a licence. I usually don't work on royalties unless you are selling a product that I'd consider "reselling" my work (read: an OST album or other primarily audio-based product) and I'm happy to work with people to find a deal that works for them
if you want to use a Ri47 song in a project that is intended to raise funds for a not-for-profit charity, especially in providing aid to Palestine… the freeware conditions apply. let me know about your plans beforehand, because I almost certainly want to be more directly involved, but there are very few cases where I would say no to this sort of thing
if you need original music or sound design done by Ri47... I'm booked out about a year or so in advance, so I can't promise I can actually join a team actively, but this is extremely contextual. if you need some UI sounds or a handful of piano pieces to feature in a project, I'm much more likely to find time for that
if you want me to feature on an album or compilation, whether that be contributing a song or remixing one that you provide… contact me and let's talk. this one's the most complicated conditions-wise, but I don't bite
the bottom line being... I work within all budgets and project scopes. even if you think the answer is no, drop me a line and you might be surprised. if you're unsure, I'll happily help you figure out what exactly you need. it's easier than taxes!

3 and 26? :o
3. what song(s) do you listen to when you do art?
Mostly video game soundtracks, but I'll rotate between things based on what I'm vibing with! If I'm focusing, I'll do instrumental stuff, but if I'm doing art that doesn't take quite the same amount of focus, I'll do lyrical stuff. (Lately I've been listening to the Portal 2 OST Remixes by Vandoorea on Youtube, and the Genshin Impact OST)
26. draw urself! (it doesn’t have to be detailed)

When you see this, post 5 songs you actually listen to and tag 10 of your favourite followers/mutuals!
Thanks for tagging me, @moonsun2010 ! Here's some of my favourite songs + some thoughts and hype 😎😎
---
1. Psychologic Disco ft. Isui (ノウナイディスコ ft. 倚水) by r-906
It's an older song but I only found out about it when a Sploon artist I followed made the most banger remix? Everyday I weep how there's no full remix bc it's so good... Anyway I love this cover the most because her voice is so smooth 🥹 I replay this song like crazy it hit top played, and I never get sick of it which never happens to me!
2. Secret UFO ft. KAFU (ひみつのユーフォー) by Nayutalien (ナユタン星人)
3. Sci-fi Ecstasy (サイファイエクスタシー) by Nayutalien (ナユタン星人)
I LOVE Nayutalien songs!! They're so energetic and the sci-fi romance theme is extremely cute!! :') Only catch is that it can be really high-pitched and grating if unaccustomed. It's been a year since Secret UFO released but I still love it even now :)
4. Revenge Syndrome (仇返しシンドローム) by Mafumafu
5. Diary of Evening Cicadas (夕暮れ蝉日記) by Mafumafu
One of the first few original songs by Mafumafu I think, and the video is also done by Miwashiba. This was one of my favourite songs like... a decade back LOL Then I listened to it again and realise I still loved it. It can be pretty grating too because the instrumentals can be overwhelming. Also because it's an older song, the audio on headphones feel kinda mushy. I really wish there's a crisp HQ version!
---
Honorary Mentions:
Clickbait from Splatoon 3
It's been awhile since I picked up my game but MAN I can still feel the hype and adrenaline of battle with Splatoon music 🥹 This is probably Splatoon 3's highlight song, since it's played in trailers and their concert. Their concert version IS A BOP 👌🏻👌🏻 Splatoon 3's Crater Eighters Routine and Paintscraper are close favourites too :)
Marshmary (マシュマリー) by MIMI
OOOH the piano solo 🥹🥹 This one is someting I've been listening to in the past week! It's extremely catchy and pretty light on the ears imo
Chameleon Love (カメレオン・ラブ) by Polyphonic Branch
It stuck around my favourites for about a decade as well. I really love music with 8-bit elements and an energetic beat ++ the pining and pink pixel aesthetic is super cute! Miwashiba's video design still pops off even now
---
A little in pain at how my top songs is mostly vocaloid again 🥹 Also I love video game music a lot too because of the high energy! (MMZ mythos playlist + concert IS REALLY GOOD, and I still love Yokai Watch battle music ost)
Here's some mutuals I can think of at the top of my head, I'd super love to see your music tastes and thoughts!! (though there's no pressure to do this as well)
@durotoswrites @kue-rangi @lucia-5566 @nyaoming
It's also hard to tell if the mutuals I chat with are also here and active, so take this as an open invitation for everyone👍🏻

Hi! I don't know if you're going to see this ask, but I decided to make another one since the last one that I made was at 3am and I was more sleep deprived at that moment. So maybe this one might have some more clearer ideas to these questions! (Also, the other one is not too old, so you can use it to help classpect me if you want. Also Thank you!)
Emoji:🕴️👻🐉
What are your interests/hobbies?
I have some interests, some of them were introduced to me by my friends and others were to impress other people but turning out to be genuinely interested in it. Anyways, some of my interests are playing videogames (In the PC and in Nintendo consoles), drawing (traditionally and digitally), Yu-Gi-Oh!, Doing some origami stuff, cooking and baking, hearing music (although it is an assortment of genres, it's mostly videogame OST or remixes), Watching YouTube videos, most of them are memes, but I also watch random documentaries and find random interests in the internet to tell fun facts to my friends. Apparently I also do like to psychoanalyze people as well and go to a long tangent about it.
How do you see yourself?
Well, I see myself as myself, as another human being living in this world, one who wants to learn everything but also doesn't want to go too insane with information. No matter if I do good things or change this world, what matters for me is how I'll enjoy and adjust to life and how I learn and become a better person to myself.
How do you think others see you?
Apparently people admires me. Most people sees me as a nice person who they can rely on. However, they might probably see me as a socially anxious person who tells maybe a bit too much. Or I can be too silent, idk. Some people perceive me as weird but that's okay because I understand that it's just part of who I am.
How do you interact with your friends?
First of all, I love my friends. I try to be there for them however I can. In order to show that I care about them, I either show them a silly meme about the interests/things that they might like, talk to them or go in a long ramble with them, play games with them or hear them vent. I want to show them that I'm still there for them.
What’s important to you? (Specific people, ideas, morals, objects, ect.)
For now, what's important for me is to finish university and get my bachelor's in Computer Science, after that, I'll be able to get a job and pay for my necessities. But, when it comes to my whole life, my friends and family are very important to me and I try to live my life.
Describe the ideal you, what kind of person do you strive to be?
I am already happy with who I am. The idea of an "ideal me" always changes. But there are a few things tha I would change that would make me better, like procrastination and not being able to defend myself or learning what I wanted to say at the time a day later and realizing that I am too late. Also, I do have an internal feeling that people are making fun of me for being weird, but I am learning how to deal with that. Overall, I do feel pretty "ideal" even though I do have some problems with myself.
Thank you!!
Hello! Thank you for your patience :)
From this I'd say you're pretty solidly Heart!
For Classes, consider Mage, Seer, and Sylph. Personally, I'm leaning towards Mage of Heart for you!
I hope this is helpful!!

Ooh, my taste is mostly video game and anime music, so at the top of my head:
Yoasobi (esp Oshi no Ko's and Sousou no Frieren's openings)
One Ok Rock
Jazztronik remixes (especially Tiger Eyes, their version of Last Surprise from Persona 5, and their mix of Shiki no Uta)
anything Masayoshi Soken or Keiichi Okabe ever have (or will) produced
Hanae's Koi wa Shinsei Roma
most songs by Crush 40 and Jun Senoue (especially the Sonic Frontiers titan battle themes as well as the Sonic Riders Zero Gravity OST)
This mix of Vela Nova (from Sonic Rush)
Urusei Yatsua 2023's 1rst opening and ending by MAISONdes and its 2nd ending by yama
The opening song to the Lupin 1996 movie Dead or Alive
Junko Yagami and her banger Bay City
Thanks for the ask! It was fun going through my music list and digging up old faves ^^

you can usually tell a lot about a person by the type of music they listen to. put your favorite playlist on shuffle and list the first ten songs then tag ten people! no skipping!
Tagged by @fragileizy!
Now I’m weird and don’t use playlists, I just let shuffle go hog wild with my entire music collection at all times so I’ll make a list of whatever it spits out. This’ll be a surprise for everyone involved as I rarely check the upcoming drop down list and shuffle goes on binges such as it;’s current obsession with Drunken Whaler.
Ether One - The Case Part 2
Bette Midler - In my life
Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter- the edge of the Gloomfrost
XP8 - Lies (Dope Stars Inc. Remix)
Echoes from the past - Sam Dillard
Red Faction: Armageddon - Overture
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Field (Day)
Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver - Union Cave
Crypt of the NecroDancer OST - Undead Desperation (2-2 Remix)
Sisyphus escapes from Hades - Rock of Ages
I have so much music and it went on a mostly orchestral video game music binge this run, go figure. Watch it play a ton of pop music for the next hour out of spite.
Tagging whoever would like to!

Favorite soundtracks?
Oooh, that's a toughie!
Obviously I love and cherish the undertale and deltarune soundtracks, but somehow I don't think I can call them my favourites... Somw of the songs on them make me too emotional to listen to them recreationally.
I think I'd have to say either the OFF soundtrack or the Yume Nikki sountrack, honestly. Both of them are so unique and delightfully moody. Even if I listen to the OFF ost more, I think the Yume Nikki one is a better music reccomendation haha
Other osts I love are the Crypt of the Necrodancer ost (especially the A_Rival remixes!), the Hollow Knight ost (also really moody but I'd honestly compare it to Undertale's ost because of the quality alone), the Ib ost (the songs on it are either creepy or uplifting there's no in-berween), and the Inscryption ost (don't look it up or listen to it unless you've played the whole game).
You never specified video game osts, though, so I feel compelled to mention the soundtrack from the movie Snatch! My dad used to listen to it a lot and I've grown to love it too! It's mostly songs that exist outside the movie altogether, but it's a really nice collection nonetheless.

Headcanons for the 7 demons finding MC singing and dancing to their favorite song?
Lucifer:
His first reaction is surprise. He didn't realize you had the same kind of taste in music as he does. He watches, enchanted for a moment, before coming into the room and surprising you with the sound of his voice.
"May I join you, Y/N?"
You turn to him and see he has his hand stretched out before you, and a hint of a smile on his face.
He offers to teach you how to dance with him if you don't know how already, but also compliments your singing and dancing so far.
Lucifer doesn't take no as an answer regardless of your response though, and he'll spin you around eagerly as he starts leading you in your dance together, the smile on his face growing as you do.
Mammon:
Blushes and hides so that you don't see him. He just watches, wide eyes, knowing his face is growing redder and redder. You're so cute, he can't take his eyes off you...
Eventually you catch him staring (he didn't pick a very good hiding place) and he tries to make up an excuse about how he was just looking for something he dropped over there and claims he didn't even notice you.
When you return to your music, though, he stands there like a statue for a bit before forcing himself to walk over there. He grabs your shoulder and tells you to let the great Mammon show you how it's really done.
He's, uh, not so good at dancing. But he's still cute in a dorky, dumb kind of way, so you match his pace and flail around happily with him for a bit.
Afterwards Mammon can't get the image of your dancing and singing out of his head and he spends all night awake, thinking about you.
Satan:
After observing for a moment he strides over to you and admits he likes this song a lot as well, and that you sing very well to it.
He asks if he can watch and sits down, just happy to see your "performance". Joining in doesn't even cross his mind at that point. He just wants to continue watching you as your audience.
You ask if he wants to join and he quickly protests, claiming he'd rather just sit and enjoy you. If you grab his hand and insist, though, he'll agree. His movements are surprisingly awkward at first, probably because he finds you so cute and endearing, but he loosens up quickly as he gets into the groove of it.
Satan asks you to keep singing alone though while he dances with you. He wants to enjoy your voice and tells you that your singing is cute. Even if you sing offkey, he still finds it cute... because it's you that's doing it, and he adores every sound you make as though you had the voice of an angel.
Asmodeus:
He squeals and rushes over to you, grabbing your hands. Immediately goes into a speech about his experiences with this song, how much he loves the singer's voice, how he feels about the lyrics, etc
"Dance with me, Y/N!" He excitedly insists you and him dance together and he shows off all those moves he uses in the dance battles. His movements are seductive and a few times he starts moving a little TOO close to you as you dance.
He tells you that you should be the one dancing with him, not his brothers - you're so much cuter than them when you dance!
Asmo is kind of extra and offers to go get some glowsticks and turn your impromptu dance session into a dance party.
Leviathan:
His favorite songs are anime openings, so most likely that's what he found you dancing to. Either that or the OST of some video game. The one he finds you dancing to is actually a bit obscure so he's pleasantly surprised to see you singing along to it!
He walks over to you and asks if you're a fan of this song too. Obviously you are, but he uses he as an ice breaker to join you. "Wow what a coincidence, I happen to like this song too!" Levi waits expectantly for you to invite him to join, because he's too shy to ask himself.
When you do invite him he grins and nods, and offers to show you some alternative dance movements to the ones you're doing that were invented for the remix.
The two of you spend a while showing each other different songs, even doing the caramelldansen at one point.
Beel and Belphie:
The twins have the same favorite song, and find you dancing when they're together one day. Beel's face lights up and he expectantly looks over at Belphie, and sees Belphie is happy too. He whispers to ask if they should join, and the sleepy twin claims he's too lazy but that he'd at least like to see Beel join.
They enter the room and Beel approached you while Belphie lays down and makes himself comfy. Beel tells you he loves this song and that he wants to dance with you.
Because of how much he works out, Beel has some really good dance movements. He doesn't sing - he leaves that to you - but he goes all out with some of the most impressive moves you've ever seen.
Eventually Belphie feels left out and joins in too. He mostly sways around next to you but once he gets into the rhythm he sings along as well.

Okay so I’m nearing the end of age of calamity, and I kinda just wanna make a list of pro’s and cons of the game.
If you want to get into this game 100% blind or if you haven’t played the demo, do not read this!!!
This is basically a “what you should know before you buy the game” review?
Anyway here are the pros:
Playable Zelda, and playable champions. Though everyone already knew that lol.
We see more of the said champions and Zelda in this story.
You actually see Zelda... a lot more than Link for the first time. Which is pretty interesting.
Link is a bit more expressive in this and we even see a bit of a goofy side of him.
Each character has a unique moveset, none of it is repeated with any other character. You can tell the devs put a lot of care into making each of them fight uniquely.
The game kinda creates a new lore which is kinda questionable, but cool.
The combat’s fun, like really crazy stupid fun.
Divine beast gameplay is good.
Impa, Robbie, and Purah.
Master Kohga.
The SOUNDTRACK. A lot of it are remixes from botw’s but they’re still good.
The overall colors of the characters are better too if that makes any sense. I can’t really put it into words but in botw both Link and Zelda have this bright looking brown hue to them in the cutscenes that can be really jarring to look at sometimes. In age of calamity the colors look more natural and warmer.
The cutscenes are well rendered and the voice acting is good. There are a lot of cutscenes too.
You get to watch the cutscenes and listen to the game’s ost anytime.
The CONS (most of these are just general gameplay issues for me):
This game was pretty much falsely advertised. The story completely branches off from breath of the wild’s. It only connects in a few areas.
Rather than Nintendo simply just saying “a story of what could’ve happened if things went differently 100 years ago” this game was marketed as a “this is what happened 100 years ago!!!” Nintendo sucks for that.
Despite one of the game’s selling points being “a hyrule you know, a story you don’t”, there really isn’t much of this “hyrule” to see at all. Outside from cutscenes we’re just plopped off in a battlefield at random locations on the map, so there isn’t much to look at.
Yes it’s the same map as breath of the wild but for a game taken place 100 years ago, everywhere pretty much looks the damn same. The only place that looked different was hyrule castle. (Which makes sense)
The familiar areas we fight in aren’t even all that good looking either, especially since there’s a gajillion enemies on screen at once and they’re surrounded by ugly enemy camps.
Speaking of ugly, that’s kinda what the missions look like sometimes. There’s so much going on at once in the levels because the game just continuously spawns hordes of enemies over and over and over again.
Because there are so many enemies on screen, it makes the actual missions a janky mess at times.
The camera fucks up a lot, if you end up getting backed against an object like a rock or wall. The camera stutters and sometimes your special attacks won’t even connect because of the bad angle.
Speaking of camera angles, they’re especially shitty when you fight bosses, especially Hinoxes. The camera tries to get everything in all at once and your character ends up looking small enough to get lost in the chaos that is the battfield, it’s annoying.
More on camera angles and boss fights, even when you lock on the boss, if you end up getting backed up against a wall and the camera isn’t where it’s supposed to be... again, your special attacks will not connect.
Lastly for camera angles, they’re especially bad when you’re inside buildings, and absolutely atrocious when you’re in a hallway.
I get that it’s a Warriors game but, for a game that was supposedly represented as breath of the wild with hyrule warriors elements, outside of the main menu, level select, and runes... it lacks a lot of what botw felt like.
The missions are usually the same thing; just fighting or “capturing an outpost”, there are only a few that you actually have different objectives like the first chapter where you have to activate guardians.
The fact that we can hardly explore and there’s no other gameplay style aside from button mashing and destroying hordes of enemies is a bit disappointing. Honestly the fact that they’re invisible walls in places you should easily be able to jump down from SUCKS.
No mini games, no playable sidequests, no puzzles... nothing.
The koroks are also lackluster too. Like when you get them there’s no jingle and there’s just this awkward 2 second pause you get after they’re spotted.
The frame rate is still bad, not as bad as the first level but it’s not that great, especially in handheld. You’re better off playing this game with your switch docked. I’m not usually a “video game graphics should be 60fps or something unless it’s unplayable” person, but this game does not look too great a lot of the time. Which is weird because the og Hyrule warriors looks really good!
You’d think a game that mostly took elements from breath of the wild of all games would look stunning but here we are lol.
So yeah, the cons obviously outweigh the pros for me. Does that mean I hate the game? Not at all!
It’s totally charming in so many areas. I’m just a pretty disappointed with the overall experience.
That’s all for me for now. I’ll make another post about the story later.

Taste in music aka who you should give the aux cord to on a road trip (Twisted Wonderland Headcannons!)
Riddle he hasn’t heard a lot of music because his mother restricted it. But if you play you’re playlist he’s sure to enjoy what ever you choose.
Trey He doesn’t care, so he’ll most likely play songs you want to hear. And sneak in a few of his own choices.
Cater: Give. him. The. Cord. This man plays bangers and stuff you can vibe to. He listens to a lot of different music. From kpop to Bluegrass to indie rock to you name it. He just doesn’t really like Jazz though.
Deuce a lot, or rage against the machine, a lot of punk rock, and just a lot of rock. Though there is some 2000s pop in there from songs he likes listening to with his mother.
Ace a lot of different stuff, mostly into modern music if you like that kind of music. Only music from the 2000s and on.
Leona kinda? Maybe? It depends. If he feels like playing his rock he will, but if he’s not than he’ll play what ever you want to play. He’s a reliable Dj unless he decides to take a snooze.
Ruggie: Give Him the aux and he will play dj, playing a song you want playing a song he wants. overall a very fun musical road trip.
Jack: wtf dude, he listens to a lot of driven stuff, from kidz bop (for his siblings!!)to opera, to modern hip hop. It’s a little jarring at times but it’s fun to guess what type of song will come up next. You make it a fun game where you two guess what the next genre will be!
Azul a lot of jazz and classic music, very soothing.
Jade: he likes a lot of different music, give him the aux cord and it won’t be bad, he might want to sit in silence or just talk with you as well so don’t be surprised if he suddenly shuts the music off.
Floyd: his music taste is as chaotic as he is, one minute it’s jazz, the next it is some old time classical, you might sit in silence for a bit, the next you’ll probably be listing to Modern pop. It’s fun though!
Kalim lots of kpop, and upbeat songs, plus some songs in his home language. So give him the aux cord you will not be disappointed
Jamil lots of variety, plus some really deep heartfelt songs, plus you get to hear him let loose and sing proudly. It’s a win win.
Vil: has a lot of kpop and modern pop and other stuff on his current playlist. But... he did have an emo faze and his old playlist (if you can convince him to play it) is hype and you need to hear it. Over all you do want to give him the cord.
Rook Lots of romance songs, in all languages. Will play careless whisper for an hour though
Epel mostly plays country and alt rock, there is no in between
Idia a lot of techno pop, electro swing (recommended by azul) video game ost, and idol songs. Very cool!
Ortho he can play anything, he is the playlist. If you tell him to play despacito I will roast you alive, him baby!!!
Malleus: doesn’t know how to make a playlist, but if you show him he’ll listen to anything! Quite likes how strange and different human music is. He’s just happy to be invited, and you showed him something new! It’s a wonderful time!
Lilia: hard rock, it’s great for jamming out, uh hope you like screamo, there’s a lot of that to.
Sebek: He never really listened to a lot of music, but he will play his work our tunes, which are fun! Very upbeat, and a lot of work our remixes of popular songs!
Silver: lots of lofi and happy music, it’s such a feel good playlist, you can’t help but be overjoyed that you’re hanging out with your freind!

CREEP RANKS EVERY SONG IN NIER... AUTOMATA (mostly) BY TITLE
Because, like, no one played Gestalt. Also this game has more songs.
Significance Like. I guess. It’s a title you can use. What is significant? We don’t know. The characters don’t know. They are struggling to find out. We all are. What is meaning? What really matters? I don’t know but we’re all crying. 8/10
City Ruins – Rays of Light / Shade Plays in the ruins of the city. Exactly as advertised. Sounds sad like you might imagine. 9/10
Peaceful Sleep This is the Resistance camp right? Peaceful things don’t tend to happen there honestly. At least not as we keep going. Sounds like a sleepy JRPG town though. Ok title for the mood it gives. I like this song a lot so I’m cheating and giving it more points than I know it deserves as just, like, a title. 8/10
Memories of Dust Sand is dusty. What memories? We’re making them. Cool title. Sounds like a YA novel though. 9/10
Birth of a Wish Genuinely often get confused with the Silent Hill 2 bonus story Born from a Wish whenever I try to remember what this song is called. This Cannot Continue / 10
The Color of Depression This is like… a really cool title. Thanks. That Scanner boy is not gonna live the happy family life you all for some reason keep suggesting he is. Bad things are gonna happen to him. He dies anyway. 11/10
Amusement Park Yeah. I guess. We certainly are in the amusement park level. Creep why does this one rank so much lower than City Ruins which was also just “name of location”. Amusement park is not a cool title. City Ruins is a cool title. 7/10
A Beautiful Song Would you say Simone has girlpower? Would you say Simone successfully used her girlpower to kill and consume countless androids and also turn them into near lifeless weapons and body jewelry? 9/10
Voice of No Return Sad title. Sad song. Exactly as advertised once again. I feel sad listening to the Automata OST most of the time. Is this quest complete in the camp? I think so. Anyway it’s really sad. I love to cry. 11/10
Grandma – Destruction Um so this is like. Genuinely a horrible title. It reminds me of the title of a darkweb video which I will say no more on. This song is REALLY good its a shame this title is so… uh. Bad. It’s just bad. 1/10
Faltering Prayer – Dawn Breeze / Starry Sky This is another really cool title. This game is about like… life after god. I’m not here to get thematic. I say in a list entirely about if the song fits the theme. Anyway this is a cool title. The song again… sounds sad.  One of them is a music box which I love. Cheating again. 10/10
Emil’s Shop EVERY DAY’S A SALE. EVERY SALE’S A WIN. 12/10!!
Treasured Times The fact this plays after Emil’s shop on the OST is the biggest tonal whiplash in the world. This song makes me feel an emotion I cannot describe. It’s something like sadness but not quite. This isn’t a review of the songs, just the title. But reading the title makes me feel that emotion too but stronger when I think about it. I don’t know. 9/10
Vague Hope – Cold Rain / Spring Rain Good title… Thematically very appropriate. Not COOL like some of the others but it feels right feels canon. I like it. It’s just the city ruins quest complete song but it also plays in one of the fucking… DLC fights. That makes me extra sad. 10/10
End of the Unknown Which unknown was ended. Genuinely think when this plays I had more unknowns than knowns. This song sounds like every song from the Gestalt DLC. 6/10.
Pascal At least Automata has far fewer “named after a character” songs. They just have named after a place songs. I love Pascal so if I give this a low score he might be upset. 8/10
Forest Kingdom It really… the forest huh. Random but one of the songs in Code Vein does a vocal thing that always reminds me of this song for some reason. That has nothing to do with this game or this songs title at all I just wanted to tell you. Long Live The Forest King / 10
Dark Colossus – Kaiju This song is also in Gestalt. It’s cooler here. More stakes. Song title suggests less stakes though? That’s kinda weird. Because of this it loses points. I’m sorry. 7/10
Copied City Dude I left this one off the list when I first typed it out lol. Someone not to @ anyone told me this was based on Nier’s village. Lie to me again. I don’t know what City is being Copied. One of them. It reminds me more of the Cathedral City from DoD3. Which is a bad horrible game that I completed 100%. 8/10
Wretched Weaponry Not to be confused with Wretched Automatons. Is this like, a remix? My ears don’t work so I don’t know. Don’t inform me because I love being stupid. Anyway, in the narrative it makes sense. It’s a good, cool title. Song is softer than the title would suggest. 9/10
Possessed by Disease COOL SONG TITLE. Thank you. This plays… somewhere. Uh. Hm. I’ve 100% completed this game like three times. 9/10
Broken Heart You think you’re gonna hear a sad song? SURPRISE. Sinister as hellllll. Subverted expectations baby. MCU take notes. I’ve never seen a movie in the MCU. Loving the dark tones in this. Broken heart but the emotion isn’t just sad. GOOD STUFF. 10/10
Mourning Again. You think it’s gonna be sad? But BOOM. It isn’t. I mean it still is, but in a dark way. These aren’t song reviews. These are title reviews. But if a title suggests one thing and delivers another that’s still a valid point right? I don’t know. Hey wait isn’t this just Shadowlord’s Castle? Yonah / 10
Dependent Weakling Well, it’s no Song of the Ancients – Fate, but it’ll do. In all seriousness, this is like, a great song title for Eve’s boss battle. Y’know, because he relied so heavily on Adam and all’a that. Maybe a little on the nose. Maybe a little rude. Eve sucks / 10
Rebirth & Hope Sounds hopeful. Plays during ending A where we see a Rebirth cos 9S super doesn’t die. This song is literally 30 seconds long why am I even bothering. Oh, right, because it’s on the OST at all. 30 second songs / 10
War & War Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room. It… sounds like a war room song. A preparing for a big battle song. Once again, exactly as advertised. Plays before a big battle. It really thematic naming! Peace was never an option. 8/10
Crumbling Lies Words cannot express how much I adore this song. First of all, title is on point. It’s the song that plays when you get to  Route C. Literally the moment I fell in love with the game. The Bunker is destroyed, which, again… maybe it’s a bit on the nose. I don’t care. This is the perfect song title to the perfect song. I will die on this hill. 12/10
Widespread Illness Red Eye except it’s robots now. Very thematically appropriate. Everyone is dying. There’s nothing you can do to cure it except kill them. They’re incredibly infectious. Zombie Virus but with Robots. Can you tell I don’t remember what it’s called? I’m writing this at 1am and I’ve decided it’s funnier if I don’t look anything up. Sounds very somber… I like it. 9/10
Fortress of Lies Not to be dramatic but when I read this English title I was like MMMMMMMNNN because like. I get it. It plays in the Bunker. Which… is built on lies. Again. Incredibly on the nose but when I learned what the song was called I just fucking DIED the first time. I’m stupid. I don’t care. 11/10
Song of the Ancients – Atonement Another song I died when I learned the title of. Devola and Popola in that game have nothing to atone for. They are atoning for sing they did not commit. Punished for the crimes of another set of Androids, possibly thousands of miles away. It’s not fair. They have nothing to atone for. They’ve done nothing wrong. 12/10 crying creeps.
Blissful Death FUCK. This one plays in the Devola and Popola like. Text Adventure part. Which is just. I love it so much. No one dies in that though. Well… maybe someone does. It’s not impossible that Popola hurt someone. It’s suggested that, maaaaybe she did. No one stops. No one Stops.
Emil – Despair Emil’s life has quite literally only been despair. Please don’t bully him with your song titles like this… 9/10
Alien Manifestation Vintage meme of that guy from the history channel with the impact font that just says Aliens.  This game has aliens, I will give you that. They’re all dead though. I guess the machines are aliens but. Eh. Wait doesn’t this play in the castle? There aren’t even aliens there what the fuck. 5/10
The Tower There’s a tower. This plays there. Thank you. Also the name of a tarot card I think? That could be cool if I knew a single goddamn thing about tarot cards. I don’t. 6/10
Bipolar Nightmare Cool flying section. Has anyone found Grun skip yet? Because the bounty for that was like. A lot of money. Vaguely a cool song title. I kinda like it. Although for some reason it reminds me of The Evil Within’s Japanese title, Psychobreak. So I think I like it less because of that. Not the worst title, but maybe the lowest of the COOL EDGY song titles. Fucking love the piano part in this one though. 7/10
The Sound of the End Really super cool and sexy song title. 2B is going to die but she can’t let anyone else get hurt because of it. She’s already done so much damage. This song is really dramatic sounding. The title is dramatic. Love this one a lot. The actual playable segment is kind of a struggle. But I think that’s the point… 10/10
Weight of the World / End of YoRHa I once got into an internet fight because I said this song is about every character except 9S because of the line “I’m only one girl”. I was corrected that the Japanese version is basically EXCLUSIVELY about 9S. None of this is relevant at all I just wanted to remember it. I still do not like 9S. Thematically a brilliant title. Everyone feels like they must do so much… but you cannot bear the weight of the world alone. Ending E legitimately makes me cry. Whenever I think about the messages from other players supporting me? It’s a lot. What the fuck. 12/10

Fire Emblem: Awakening Thoughts
As of the date May 20th, 2020, I finished my playthrough of Fire Emblem: Awakening on its one year anniversary of when I got it. It is now June 5th of writing this. This post will be my thoughts and feelings on Awakening, much like the KH3 Grievances and Blessings post last year. Let's get into some history between me and Fire Emblem before I go into Awakening.
As I've said before, Awakening was both my first Fire Emblem game and my first Tactical RPG. Smash Bros. was where I had heard of Fire Emblem but it wouldn't be until Ultimate came out that I would start to get interested. It was because of my friend's preference for Lucina that got me into playing as her in Smash and that's pretty much how she became both one of my mains and a favorite. It honestly wasn't till I listened to the Smash remixes of Id, Conquest, and Lost in Thoughts All Alone that I decided to play Awakening and then Fates. So thanks go out to both Smash and my friend Eric for converting me to Fire Emblem trash!
Much like the KH3 Grievances and Blessings post, I'll be going over every aspect of Awakening I can think of, from the graphics to the gameplay to the story. I'll even include a Best/Worst Girl and Boy of both generations because that kind of thing seems to matter to some people, along with my reasons for why X is Y. Keep in mind that whoever I choose as those categories, it is just my opinion and you're free to disagree with me. I say this because I know that, no matter what I say, some diehard fans will get pissed at me and come at me for daring to shit on their favorite character. I already know some people are gonna get mad because they think X should be Best/Worst and that'll be fun to see (You can interpret that as sarcasm if you want).
Listed below are Awakening spoilers, so if you want to play the game and don't want to be spoiled, now's your chance to stop reading. I know Awakening came out in 2013, meaning 6 or 7 years ago, but there may be some people who haven't gotten around to playing it yet so I want to be courteous to them. Here are my thoughts on Fire Emblem: Awakening!
First off, the graphics. I think they looked really nice for a 3DS game that came out in the early 2010's and I believe this was Fire Emblem's first fully 3D game as well so that's really impressive. The in-game models were nicely detailed, the in-game sprites were nice looking, and the prerendered cutscenes were beautiful. This doesn't mean they're not without their faults, though. I wish the in-game cutscenes were more animated because it's easy to tell when an animation's been used over and over again, I feel as if the in-game sprites have some dissonance with official art, and there are times where expressions or animations for the prerendered cutscenes have looked pretty awkward. In terms of the first and last point, I'm giving IntSys some slack because, as I stated earlier, they were developing a game for the 3DS, a powerful handheld device but it's still a handheld, and this was FE's first 3D game so there may have been issues transitioning from 2D sprites to 3D models. I'll explain what I mean by my second point. I've looked at Cynthia's official art and when I see her face, I tend to see what I'd call a baby face, pudgy cheeks and all. Her in-game sprite, however, her face is sharper, more mature, if that makes sense. Maybe it's the pigtails throwing me off or it's just a difference between two art styles, I don't know. I'm not an artist so there's not much weight behind this but I'm just saying there's somewhat a dissonance between official art and in-game sprites.
Secondly, gameplay. I loved how easy it was and how I could switch between a simple and complex UI if I wanted to see which attacks could hit or what the enemy's stats were. This may sound stupid but I honestly thought it'd be way more difficult due to this being a Tactical RPG. I know strategy's a big part of Fire Emblem but strategy's not a big problem if you're like me and you grind to hell and back. Speaking of which, I played on Easy Casual mode so that might be why it seemed so simple from the get-go. Just to give you an idea of how much I grinded, I put in 200+ hours and that mostly consisted of buying a shitton of Reeking Boxes, spawning Risen on some of my favorite grind spots, and fighting them over and over again. I went through the 3 basic classes each character could have, maxed out their default class one last time, promoted them to their advanced class, and maxed out those classes 2-3 times over. I have a video on my Twitter that shows the stats of these characters and most of them are over 220 (The shapeshifters 300). Needless to say, I loved each and every fucking crit I got. Cordelia even got what I call a miracle crit, which means she got 2 crits in one round and after the enemy attacked, she got another 2 crits. Level grind ain't a joke in this game.
Thirdly, the music. Considering it's part of why I got into this game in the first place, I loved it. As I'm writing this, I'm listening to the OST and it sounds so much better when you don't have the ambient sounds and you're not listening to it through the 3DS speakers. The song that hit me the most and just gave me the overwhelming feels was Id~Sorrow as it played in Chapter 21. It fit so well with the tone of the scene and I just sat there for a few minutes, letting it play in the background as I did shit. Other notable mentions are Id~Purpose, Destiny, Conquest, and the song that is just ellipses. If the music is this good in Awakening, I can't wait to see what's in store for Fates!
Fourthly, the voice acting. For a game where most of the voices come in forms of clips, I thought they were good. Each of the actors tried their best to convey their characters in the clips they were allowed to have and I think it shows. The only critique I have, and it's not the actors' fault, is that some of the characters' voices don't fit them. I'm not saying they miscast these characters, it's more like the direction was off, if that makes sense. Let me bring up Cynthia, Kjelle, and M!Morgan as examples. I don't think it's a stretch to say that, sometimes when you look at a character, you kinda imagine what they'd sound like before you hear their actual voice, right? I already brought up Cynthia's looks so I imagined her voice to sound very high-pitched and maybe a little childlike. I hear her voice and, while she's high-pitched and some of her voice clips do go into that childlike territory, she's nasally sounding and more mature. Kjelle is a complicated case in that, her voice fits her appearance (minus the armor) but not her personality. Her personality is similar to Sully's so I figured her voice would sound gruffer and not...cute, if that's the right word. M!Morgan's, I think, everyone can see the problem with. He's supposed to be the youngest of the kids, right? Since he's the only third generation character and all that? I think he just sounds a little too old for the supposed baby of the kids. Again, I'm not saying the voices are bad or that the delivery/emotion was bad, I just think the direction in which they were voiced don't fit some of the characters. Maybe I'm just thinking in terms of archetypes or something.
Now we move on to the story. I can't say as to whether it was good or not, mainly because I spoiled myself on it way before I decided on playing Awakening, so I don't think I can say much to the quality. The least I'll say is it's serviceable. I'll admit, the one thing I was shocked by was the appearance of the Grima Avatar because I thought Grima was inside Robin the whole time and I didn't think he'd have a separate vessel. I straight up thought Grima!Robin was either my mother or a twin I wasn't aware of so I'm giving credit to the writers for surprising me. Anyway, I think the only flaw I have with the story is with the pacing. I thought the first half was fine, it wasn't too fast or too slow. It was the second half that the pacing couldn't find a middle ground. Now I'm going to say that this half was stretched out over months of my playtime so whatever I say next might be exaggerated because of my procrastinating ass so... I feel like the Valm arc was way too slow and the Grimleal arc had so much trouble finding a middle ground. The beginning of the Grimleal arc was quick but Grima himself decided that I had to finish 2 and a half chapters before I finally got to beat him and you have to deal with constant reinforcements before you kill off the target. I think if it weren't for my overleveled as fuck units, I wouldn't have finished Awakening in time for my birthday.
Just for shits and giggles, I'm gonna say what I picked for my choice with both Luce's judgement and Grima's fate. I picked the self-sacrificial choices, which means I accepted Luce's judgement and allowed her to kill me and I dealt the final blow to Grima so Chrom didn't have to. While I knew the outcomes of both choices and them ultimately not meaning anything, I wanted my Robin to reflect what I would've done and I'm a very self-sacrificial person. Because I made Chrobin happen in my playthrough, which meant Luce was my daughter, I believe that, if my child who came from an apocalyptic world told me I was the reason for that happening and that she came back through time to stop that future from happening so she and the others wouldn't suffer, I would've let her kill me. Parents would and should do anything for their kids and if my death possibly gave my daughter the chance for a better life, I'd take it in stride. As for me dealing the final blow to Grima, if it was to save everyone I loved, I would've done it. Although there's some feelings of wanting to give a big "Fuck you" to Grima and to permanently end the problem so any future descendants wouldn't have to deal with it. This section may sound more philosophical and personal than I usually write but I think it deserved it.
Now we're on to Supports and who I chose to be together. I don't think it's wrong to say that this is where the characters really get to shine and it's because of the Supports I love these kids and how much I'm going to miss them when I move on to other FE games. As for the "canon" couples, I mainly went with characters that I thought would complement each other and this was one of the few things I tried to choose for myself. I tried my best to go for pairings that weren't fan favorites but I'm also not very connected with the fandom as of writing this so I may be completely wrong in which ships were favorites or not. So here are the pairings I got for my playthrough!
Chrom-Robin
Frederick-Sumia
Virion-Miriel
Vaike-Nowi
Stahl-Sully
Lon'qu-Cordelia
Ricken-Lissa
Gaius-Maribelle
Gregor-Cherche
Libra-Panne
Henry-Olivia
Lucina-Inigo
Owain-Cynthia
Brady-Nah
Kjelle-Laurent
Severa-Yarne
Obviously, there are some characters missing from this list and I can explain why. I didn't recruit Kellam and Tharja and it's because your girl is a dumbass. Kellam, I thought, was already on my team, he was just labelled as an ally so I didn't need to recruit him. They really should've made that clear. Tharja, on the other hand, was an even bigger dumbass than me because she decided to charge after Robin, who happened to be in front and was way overleveled, and got her ass promptly beaten with a crit. I regret not getting Kellam but after hearing how awful of a person Tharja is and how many fans are willing to put aside emotional abuse and stalker-like tendencies to have a chance to fuck her, she can stay buried in the sand where I electrocuted her ass. Unfortunately, this does means Noire didn't pop up in my recruitment list and that fucking sucks. The only characters left I didn't have a pairing were Gerome and Morgan. I think Gerome wouldn't really care for a romantic partner because he's all about not wanting to create ties in this time and shit and, since I see Morgan as the baby of the kids, I figured he'd be a little too young to be in a relationship. Despite that, I wish I got him and Nah together because I found out after she was shipped with Brady that Morgan's the only S-Support she'll say "I love you" to and I was immediately filled with regret.
Before I move on to the Best/Worst contest, there's something I need to bring up because I can see what sensible fans have shown now. This game is HELLA gay. Like, holy fuck, how many instances are there where you have two characters of the same sex and they have dialogue that seems to have been written with romantic intent but the writers decide it's meant to be platonic? Maybe I just have this weird line of thought on how straights are because there's no fucking way some of these gay moments would be a thing with even the most accepting straights. Maribelle calling Lissa darling and other pet names, Robin blushing from some of the girls and even mistaking Flavia's proposition for a marriage proposal, Severa looking at Kjelle's abs, the list goes on. I'm not straight because I'd be doing some of this shit with a potential girlfriend if I could! Why did it take IntSys until 3 Houses to implement LGBT+ pairings when this game is right here?! At least this game doesn't have the weird student/teacher relationships 3H has and believe me when I say that, if it weren't for the fact I could give less of a fuck for 3H, I wouldn't play that game for that reason! Anyway, Awakening is hella gay and it should've been the first LGBT+ FE game instead of 3H.
The Best/Worst contest... As I said in the beginning, there'll be a Best/Worst Boy and Girl for both generations because that's fun and it seems to matter a lot to some people. Repeating what I said, this is just my opinion and you're free to agree or disagree with me. One rule I'm putting in is I will try my best to not pick fan favorites. Don't get me wrong when some of the crowd pleasers are good but there are other characters that deserve just as much love as the fan favorites so this is why I'm putting in this rule. Without further ado, here are the rulings!
1st Gen
Best Boy-Lon'qu
Best Girl-Panne
Worst Boy-Virion
Worst Girl-Miriel
2nd Gen
Best Boy-Owain
Best Girl-Cynthia
Worst Boy-Inigo
Worst Girl-Severa
Let's see how many people I piss off with these judgements. So, my reasoning: Best Boy for 1st gen was a big toss-up. I kept wanting to choose between Chrom, Frederick, Stahl, and Lon'qu because they really endeared themselves to me but I chose Lon'qu in the end because he's honestly such a dork (I mean, all of them are) and I gotta admire how he tries to overcome his fear of women and try being there for his wife and daughter if he happens to have one. There's also the fact he has to literally psyche himself up to talk to women if you check in with him in the Barracks and I'm just like "Fucking hell, that's adorable and I GET it". Best girl is Panne because believe me when I say that the moment I see this woman and hear her voice, I'm immediately gay for her. Then she transforms into a giant rabbit, kicks so much ass, and I'm in love. Funny story, I'd talk to my friend about my progress in Awakening on Discord and the moment he asks me who best girl was and I answered Panne, he called me out for being a furry. Granted, I would've automatically said Luce but I'm trying not to pick fan favorites so I get his criticism. If a woman like Panne existed in real life, bunny ears and tail and all, I'd probably become a furry for her, no questions asked. As for worst boy and girl, Virion and Miriel are characters I honestly don't give much of a fuck about. Not that they're bad, I just don't care about their archetypes, if that makes sense. Miriel I found to be boring and Virion's of the Casanova archetype and I've always kinda hated that archetype so that's why they're on the ranking.
Oh boy, 2nd gen. So, best boy being Owain. This boy is going to kill me. He's so adorable and sweet and he's just a good boy. There are literally Tweets on my Twitter where I just gush about him and he deserves so much love. He's just a sweet boy who loves his parents so much and is so proud to be their son and how he manages to rope his cousins (Luce and Morgan) into going with his fantasies and how they just go along with it! Owain is a cinnabun and I want to protect him and love him. Anyway, best girl being Cynthia is sorta the same reason as Owain. She's just so bubbly and happy and just adorable. Yeah, she may get carried away with showboating but I just love her earnest desire to be a hero. I think everyone can see why I paired Owain and Cynthia up. Now for the worst. Inigo and Severa are probably the only characters in this whole game that straight up got on my fucking nerves and for different reasons. Outside of his supports with Olivia and Henry, Inigo's constant flirting with the girls and Robin and inability to take no for an answer just rubbed me the wrong way. I actually put out a Tweet saying how Inigo's like an r/niceguy and I still think he is one. Course, this doesn't mean I didn't have my fair share of laughs from him. I fucking died at his and Gerome's A-Support where he ends up pathetically crying after the emo loner got more game than him and Gerome has to comfort his ass, that was hilarious. It also helped the fact that Liam O'Brien, who I've only heard him as the brooding emo loner role, voiced Inigo as the complete opposite of that and I had a blast. Severa, on the other hand, was...really unpleasant. There's a reason I hate Tsunderes with a passion and it's because they're unnecessarily bitchy towards everyone they know, even if they have no reason to be. Severa, however, was somehow worse because she went out of her way to be horrible to people. My dislike for her was cemented the moment I saw her and Cynthia's C-Support and she chose to make fun of her, despite Cynthia minding her own business and Severa just going "fuck it". However, I should express that I understand why Inigo and Severa are the way they are and that's why I'm not being as harsh on them as I could be. They still have their good moments and I can appreciate them while also raking them over the coals.
So that concludes my review/experience of Fire Emblem: Awakening! Despite some moments of frustration and annoyance, I had fun playing this! I mean it when I say I'm gonna miss these kids but I had plenty of time to spend with them so it's time to move on to newer lands. Next up on the list is Fates and I think I'm siding with Hoshido first. It's funny how, despite me spoiling the story for myself 3 separate times, I still can't remember much, if any, of it so that may say something about the quality. I also know Fates is pretty divisive among the fandom but the thing I know it for is the weird pseudo-incestuous ships it has so that's going to be fun! Hopefully, I'll get around to playing as one of my other mains in Smash, my water horse dragon Corrin, sometime soon and I'll be sure to let everyone know when my journey will start!
