aries: the beginning of the week is the new moon eclipse (in your 8th house) and the end of the week features mars finally committing to his retrograde (in your 3rd house) . you'll need to focus on the latter. your normally impulsive manner will need to take a bit of a break for a few months, especially at the retrograde's endpoints. make notes about your impulses, but think them through well before acting on them.

taurus: many around you will be hyped over retrograde mars at the end of the week, and yes, that is likely to affect you materially. but more likely your attention is on the events around this new moon eclipse in scorpio - it's affecting your house of partnerships and it's conjunct venus, your sign's ruling planet and goddess of love. some will advise against intention-setting at an eclipse but i consider this a powerful opportunity to work some magic.

gemini: the whole first part of your week is going to be kind of "blah blah blah" until you start to feel mars stationing retrograde in your sign. if you're mars-sensitive maybe you already do, in which case it overpowers the rest of everything going on even probably including the eclipse. so for the eclipse you do want to be kind to yourself in your daily routines! but for mars, even before it goes retrograde, make sure you act justly so there is no karmic backlash.

cancerians: this whole week for you centers on the events around the new moon eclipse in scorpio. you can use it as a reset if you haven't been having enough fun in your life and you should certainly do so in my opinion, but no eclipse can be described as easy and most of them are not fun in themselves. so consider which areas of your life would benefit from a little destruction... and let them. and later you can rebuild, but don't try it right now.

leo: sometimes people focus on eclipses as being a moon thing and therefore a cancerian thing. but you can't have an eclipse without some prominent solar activity, and that puts you, you know, in the spotlight, so to speak. and while you are known for loving that spotlight, eclipses are pretty much always chaotic. so this week is one of those good news/bad news situations. try to use it productively as the fixed energy may be uncomfortably squaring some of your natal placements.

virgo: if you need to make any sort of assertive move get it in *fast* because assertion will not be likely to be prosperous until mars is back out of its retrograde, and it will be a while. things are a little more on your side when you act from justice, but even then, it is best to tend toward the passive end of the spectrum for the next many weeks.

libra: try to be financially stable with this eclipse. you may not be actually able to and that's fine - but at least be responsible about it. later, the retrograde of mars in gemini will lead to some sort of "going back to school" vibes - maybe you just need new office supplies, or maybe you're changing majors/jobs, or maybe you have a tough lesson to learn in the school of hard knocks. all of the above?

scorpio: if you follow astrology closely you already know the eclipse this week features you front and center. and even if you're just casually glancing at your horoscopes now, you may have been wondering what that foreboding feeling is. this eclipse energy is already present and intensifying by the minute. the best advice for you right now is intense self care. this is more important at this time than any external pressures to be or act in a certain way.

sagittarius: okay, yes, mars does go retrograde later this week in your relationships so coupled sagittarians will be feeling that and it probably feels weird at best, downright unpleasant for others. but the really good news is that be before that jupiter, your ruling planet, already retrograde himself, finds his way back into pisces. he's very comfortable there, so this is auspicious for you and means any discomfort from mars ultimately points you in positive directions.

capricorn: you are in one of the best positions compared to other signs to have a relatively calm week. but do be advised that, depending on your personal placements, your mileage may vary. and your social groups will be having a hard time most likely. have compassion for them.

aquarius: the eclipse earlier is in fixed scorpio and is therefore tense for you so you may want to be careful not to overbook yourself this week. actually, try to underbook. because then mars retrograde occurs in your 5th house and this is likely to make "fun" parts of life difficult. you'll want to go out of your way to not get bored or too frustrated/overwhelmed.

pisces: the eclipse and mars retrograde DO impact you so do watch those transits closely. journal about those days and everything. but in the middle of that, you likely get a major blessing as kindly jupiter retrogrades back into your sign. don't forget to say thank you.

New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse in 2’ Scorpio @03:48 PST 10/25/22

Sun & Moon will be Conjunct with Venus at the exact degree of 2’ SCORPIO.

A Taurus degree, signifying the reciprocal energy and effort that we place into people, places and projects. Libra will be on the horizon, emphasizing this Venusian energy, boosting your sense of pleasure, love and the deep desires beyond the simplistic sensation of satisfaction from external delights. You are looking into the infinite mirror of your grandest possibilities. What will it take? What investments will you make?

This transit will be affecting Libra, Scorpio, Taurus, Aries the most powerfully, shaking up your sense of self and your relationships, particularly your desires within those realms. This is not sudden, it’s not a one and done sort of job. This is the beginning, and for the next two weeks building up to the Lunar Eclipse on November 8, 2022 at 16’ Taurus a lot will be revealed. What is the difference between Vedic and Western Astrology

Both the type of astrology are is primarily individual choice but some major differences are as under Different historical background Vedic Astrology came about through “rishis” who lived many thousands of years ago. The origins of Vedic Astrology can be traced back to the Rig Veda , Atharva Veda which is the oldest part of the Vedas, containing the spiritual knowledge of India. Western Astrology goes back to the intellectual life of ancient Greece and Rome where it was a powerful force. But was reawakened in the Middle Ages and once again came to permeate philosophy, literature, and art Different methods are used to calculate the position of the planets: The Vedic system of astrology is basically a fixed zodiac as used by astronomers against the background of certain fixed stars (Nakshatra). It is called the “sidereal zodiac”. Hence, in the past, the term Astronomy covered astrology as well as the study of the physical heavens.

Western astrology is a movable zodiac, as it is based on the orientation of the Earth to the Sun, and applies the “Tropical zodiac”. It “assumes” that every year, the Sun at the spring and autumnal equinoxes is at the first degree of Aries and Libra respectively, and at the first degree of Cancer and Capricorn at the summer and winter solstices. As a result of this fundamental assumption, the tropical zodiac ignores an astronomical event called the Precession of the Equinoxes (that is as the Sun moves along its apparent path as viewed from the Earth, it does not return to the same position against the background of the fixed stars at the spring equinox on 21 March, where it was at the same time one year earlier. It is short by 50.29 seconds of one degree, and this builds up to a difference of one degree every 71.585 years and over a period of 2,148 years the gap between the sidereal and tropical positions of the planets grows to 30 degrees, or one whole sign of the zodiac. The time span required for a new precessional cycle (when sidereal and tropical zodiac meets) would take approximately 25,800 years.)

Different number of planets are used Nine planets are used in Vedic Astrology viz. Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn and the two nodes of the Moon called Rahu and Ketu. The nodes, as recognised by astronomers, are points on the ecliptic path of the Sun where Moon cuts every month as it circles the Earth at a 5° inclination to the Earth’s orbit.

Western Astrology also use the all the above mentioned planets. but in addition the outer planets – Uranus, Neptune and Pluto – as well as their moons and some of the largest asteroids are also used in interpreting horoscopes. Different primary focus Tropical astrology is largely “Sun” based and may more accurately be called “solar houses” as it directly interprets results based on the sign in which sun is posited according to the month ( 21 March to 20- April = Aries, 21 April to 20 May = Taurus etc) . Thus Western Astrology is primarily concerned with psychology, the personality and character, or the “solar” side of our life and nature. Sidereal astrology can be called “Cosmic astrology” as it is moon based astrology. Moon revolves around earth in 27.3 days. during its revolution it crosses all fixed stars (Nakshatra). As moon is the closest to earth can influence to a large extent. In Vedic system results are based on measures the relationship between the fixed stars and the solar system to ourselves. Vedic Astrology covers all areas of life – our desires, talents, responsibilities, financial resources, creativity, likelihood of marrying and having children, and the potential for spiritual growth. It can also indicate times of ill-health, failures, emotional and physical difficulties; and confinement in a hospital, prison or monastery, etc. Ayurveda is the medical branch of Vedic Astrology; whilst Vastu is its architectural branch. Different use of the Fixed Stars Besides using the 12 signs, Vedic Astrology breaks down the 360º circle into 27 lunar constellations, called Nakshatras, which were originally identified with particular stars, but these days each one is deemed to cover a span of 13 degrees 20 minutes thus creating a full circle. These Nakshatras are used for indicating the quality of a person’s mind-set as well as ascertaining subtle qualities of the nine planets specific to each natal chart. They can be used for determining personality types; the starting points of the planetary periods, favorable times for beginning important actions in electional astrology

In Western Astrology there are Millions of stars available, but out of these 26 zodiacal latitudes are selected and interpretation of horoscopes is done on the basis of transit of the planets over these specific latitudes. Thus out of 360 degrees available only few (26 specific positions ) are taken in to account. Different systems to determine the timing of events In timing major events or changes in our lives, Western Astrology uses progressions (any method of advancing the planets and house cusps of a natal horoscope to a particular time after birth) and transits (the position and movement of the planets on a given day; used in reference to planets passing over a natal planet or crossing a natal house). Vedic astrology may also apply these systems, but their primary system is the use of planetary periods, called dashas. There are 32 such systems outlined by Parashara in his treatise. Under the most commonly used Vimshottari Dasha system, each of the nine planets is given a particular time span, periods varying from 6 to 20 years, giving a total of 120 years, when their particular influence will have a predominant effect on an individual’s life. These periods can be divided into sub-periods and sub-sub periods to show the planetary influences operating on a particular day.
