Currently having a lot of thoughts about the ATSV canon concept, so I'm just gonna vomit them on here.

This obviously contains a lot of spoilers, you've been warned.

The only times we see disrupted canon events actually having consequences are when Miguel takes his other self's place, and when Miles saves the Captain in Pav's world. However, not only did the collapses appear differently, but it's weird to me how this never happened every other time the canon was disrupted.

Let's look at everything in order.

1) Appearance: in non spider-Miguel world's collapse, everything seemed to glitch out of existence. However, when the canon gets disrupted in Mumbattan, the collapse appears very different. Y'know what it looks like? Like one of Spot's holes. Sure, the building sinking in is glitching. But that's not the main thing. And I just think it's weird.

2) Other disruptions: I've been collecting events that are most definitely not canon in every spider's story, no matter how silly and small, and guess what? None of them have consequences.

Peter B. only got back with M.J. because he met Miles. Gwen wasn't supposed to have any friends, but she met Miles. Noir brought back a colored Rubik's cube to his B&W universe. Gwen's father wasn't supposed to resign. Miles-42 was supposed to become Spider-Man. And don't even get me started on everything wrong with 1610. 1610's Peter wasn't supposed to die, and Miles was supposed to become the Prowler. All of that didn't happen because 1610 Alchemax's collider brought the 42 spider there, which means the collider was a non-canon event as well.

So, clearly something's not right. Miguel could be lying about how the canon works, but honestly? I think he doesn't know any better. I think LYLA's somehow behind this, because i genuinely cannot see Miguel as anything other than a very scared man. Also, as much as he's someone to go against the rules, i doubt Hobie (and Margo) would actively let Miles destroy his world by helping him return. They're smart, they know what's going on. Hobie more than anyone, i believe.

So, to sum everything up. The canon events are not what they were presented as. We are missing some pieces, they didn't tell us something. At least that's what's been on my mind for the last two weeks.

Sabyuas' speech

So you may notice that a lot of what Sabyuas says kinda doesn't make sense! This is intentional and present in the original Japanese as well.

He doesn't say exactly what he means, but instead embellishes it to such a point that it's hard to understand what he actually means. For example, the line of dialogue about how he "observed" the ship whose people "lived outside of shadows" - it's just flowery speech for "I've never seen a non-Darkman before".

Same for "the silence was unable to be kept" - that just means "I couldn't help myself from making an appearance". He quite literally just speaks like this and it's a quirk I've chosen to keep since it's part of his character.

I've translated his words into English. Now you have to translate them into common sense! Translationception!

サ sa Sa

Sabyuas uses this as both his personal pronoun as well as a sentence prefix (where a pronoun would be unneeded/make no sense to put there).

I don't quite know how to handle this yet. For now, when he says Sa, I've kept it in the sentence since his bio also states that it's one of his quirks. I don't see a reason to change, but who knows.

キ ki 'Ya'

This is another of Sabyuas' weird speech quirks. Instead of addressing people by 君 (kimi), he instead says キ (ki). I tried to make it work in English as best I can.

I initially wanted to leave it as Y or Yu, but it was pointed out to me that people may mistake it for him saying 'Yuuhi' when he's not, so I made it 'Ya'.

Translating Sabyuas has been terrible...

ダークメン Darkmen

Thanks to this episode, we now know that "Darkmen" or "Darkman" is not actually the name of a person, but the name of an entire new species of... whatever they are. I can't say alien because Sabyuas' official bio (and Yuuhi's hair in-show) say that he doesn't quite seem like an actual alien.

Anyway, I will be switching between plural and singular as it makes sense for English. Japanese has no concept of a plural conjugation like English does (like ways to make words specify 1 or more, ie adding -s at the end of words), so they will keep referring to the species as Darkmen even if they only mean one of them.

Dark Matter

I just want to clarify that when Sabyuas is talking about how cards are letting him add "Dark Matters" back to hand, that's not actually what the cards say.

Sabyuas himself is twisting the card effect and says only Dark Matter, but the cards themselves say any DARK Galaxy.

Putting this here before we get people asking about if Rush is finally doing archetypes like OCG/TCG is. The answer is no.

Font changes!

Season 3 has kicked off, so there's a couple things I'll be changing as the season goes on.

The fonts used up til now I decided to use back when the show first started and it fit the whimsical mood of Go Rush a lot more. Obviously Go Rush has grown a lot in that time, so I'm re-evaluating font choices for the series.

To start, in this episode:

Default: Rubik Medium -> Sephora Sans

Yuuhi (+Yuamu): Baloo 2 -> Pikolo Regular

There may be some other changes as characters come back or duel. Yuudias' font may be changing as well (I know he already had a duel, but).

WARNING: ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

i have spent the last several days ranting and raving about about Spiderverse related things and like. I have such a complicated relationship with this movie, but THAT'S FOR ANOTHER POST IF SOMEONE ASKS LMAO but Miguel. Miguel O'Hara. Miguel.

I HATE HIS HOLOGRAM SUIT WITH NOTHING UNDERNEATH ASSS HE'S SO. WAGHGGHGAGK Like I know a lot of people do like him and there's stuff to like but I just don't see the appeal, and I'm also slightly biased because I can't enter the Spiderverse tag without seeing unfiltered Miguel NSFW LMAO

The first thing I thought after watching the movie was that it felt like he wasn't like... built up to enough? Like, my writer brain never turns off, and from a writing perspective it felt kinda weird. A lot of things in the movie did, but to me it just felt like there wasn't enough intro to him. Like he's supposed to be important but we don't like. i dunno HEJGKHKFL it sort of felt like we were already supposed to know a lot about him. WHICH I GUESS IS FAIR MAYBE THEY EXPECT ACTUAL SPIDER FANS TO COME IN AND KNOW WHO HE IS and I'm only a Spiderverse fan.

Miguel does have really charming and funny moments! Like, in the beginning Gwen section of the movie, he's got pretty funny dialogue while still remaining stern. He's got kind of a flat charm to him. But for me he just. loses it. after that part of the movie. He's a lot more of an asshole, which yes he's supposed to be. But for me there's just not that much to like. and just. and. and

Okay, kiddies, get out of the pool, that was the formal discussion. Now I'm just gonna LOUD

THIS GUYYYYY. IS SUCH A DUMBASS!!!!! He is so obviously wrong about the entire canon event theory. At least he is mostly. THERE IS SO MUCH EVIDENCE POINTING TO HIM BEING WRONG. AND WHAT DOES HE HAVE TO BACK IT UP??? ONLY ONE PIECE OF EVIDENCE THAT HE EVER BRINGS UP IN THE MOVIE!! And that's when he was Stupid and took the place of himself in a universe where he died so he could be with his daughter! And when you think about it, he didn't necessarily break the canon event rule- That canon event already HAPPENED. He DIED. But I guess you could suggest that him coming back ruined it. But that's the problem; these multiverse rules and regulations and details are just so confusing. And they're supposed to be.

Miguel doesn't necessarily have the right to put himself in charge of protecting this and claiming these things to be true when he absolutely does not know the full scale of the multiverse- Nobody knows exactly how all this works!! And we have seen so many things to contradict him!! If what he says is true, the events of Into The Spiderverse would have absolutely shaken things up. But the everything's fine for the most part, isn't it? The events of that movie changed all the characters in different ways (except for Ham. Ham's ok. Ham didn't change LMAO). Peni's SP//DER bot was destroyed, Noir brought color to his universe in the shape of a rubiks cube, Gwen made a new friend. Peter B was inspired and fixed things with MJ and went onto have a daughter, a DAUGHTER WHO'S VERY EXISTENCE ISN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN! AND THAT'S BECAUSE OF MILES! And if what Miguel is saying is true, why is the fact that Miles is Spiderman now and everything he's done not severely messing things up? The 42 spider's corpse is still chilling in his universe, too.

I've seen people compare the Spider Society to like. a cult? And honestly I can see that- Unintentional by Miguel, I'm sure, but it does seem similar. He's gotten everyone to believe in his theory and have them acting upon it, even Gwen, Peter B, and Peni. (Noir and Ham we never saw in the Spider Society, likely because their VA's weren't available. But I also like to take this as like. These two would not join the Spider Society, no way in hell they would. The society is against a lot of what Noir fights for and Ham would see this as a joke LMAO) NOT TO MENTION THAT OH MY GODDD LIKE GWEN KNOWS NOW THAT IF SHE GOES BACK TO HER UNIVERSE, SHE'S GOING TO HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THE CANON EVENT OF HER DAD DYING. AND MIGUEL AND THE OTHERS KNOW THAT TOO. AND THEY THREATEN HER WITH THE IDEA OF GOING HOME. THEY KNOW THAT. LIKE WTF?????

A detail I'm also obsessed with is that in Pavitr's universe, you see the damage and glitching before the Spider Society shows up. They call it a "quantum hole" or something, because that's what they believe it is. That's what it HAS to be, right? It can't be anything else. It has to be damage from the disruption of a canon event. But that is NOT what that is. That deep blackness- That's damage from The Spot. You can even hear it in the music, you can hear Spot's motif. It's probably also glitching because Spot is literally becoming some multidimensional being.

BUT MIGUEL IS SO DUMB AND SO UNLIKEABLE TO ME LIKE HE COULD HAVE AVOIDED THE WHOLE CONFLICT WITH MILES IN THE FIRST PLACE IF HE DIDN'T TELL HIM HIS DAD IS GOING TO DIE!! LIKE HE SCREWED HIMSELF OVER!! Sure, maybe he figured he should know what's going to happen, just accept it and join the club, but like. MAN.

BUT WHAT GETS ME. WHAT GETS ME THE MOST. WHICH MAKES ME ROLL MY EYES HARDER THAN ANYTHING.

"I'm this dimension's one and only Spiderman. Or, at least I was. But I'm not like the others. I don't always like what I have to do. But I know I have to be the one to do it. I've given up too much to stop now."

OH BOOOHOOOOOOOOO, CRY ME A RIVER. LIKE OH MY GODD. THIS IS LITERALLY ALL THE MOST CLICHE AND GENERIC QUOTES FOR A CHARACTER OF HIS TYPE. LIKE HOW DO YOU TAKE THAT SERIOUSLYYY I'VE HEARD IT ALL BEFORE. OKAY DRAMATIC EDGY MCEDGE I GET IT. I DON'T FEEL BAD FOR YOU!! I HAVE NO REASON TO!!!

I can not WAIT for Beyond The Spiderverse to have Miguel be faced with the fact he's wrong. But he can't face that. Because if he knows he's wrong, he has to face the fact that he's done all of this for nothing. And when people learn the truth, they're likely going to be a bit pissed!!

This came out a little more disorganized and incomprehensible than I wanted, but I think I expelled all my energy yelling about him and stuff in DM's on Discord, so I'm just piecing together all the pieces I left scattered LMAO

Sorry Miguel fans,,,,, you may think he's hot but I do not. This is all just my opinions and thoughts, keep that in mind!!! No hate to anyone who likes him, I know a lot of people do!! I'm just not that big a fan

Part 5 of “I have no self control, so I made a Playlist for Fanfiction I like”.

I made another one of these. I can’t promise it’s going to be the last one. It might be, but I don’t know. Still Breathing by Citizen Soldier. Varian has been though hell in the Kingdom Of Corona. And he how to go through all of that with no one to help him. Not even The Big Hero 6 know exactly what went through, because they never been through everything he has been through. But they are here for him now. Who I Am by The Score. In Corona, people painted Varian as a monster, even when he was just asking for help at the beginning. This view on him continued when decided to fight back. While not all his actions were perfect, Varian knows he doesn't carry as much blame as the king does, and he not going to just forget or forgive what the rulers of the kingdom has done, just so they can live in their fairy tale world view. Unconditionally by Katy Perry. I know this meant to be a romance song, but I feel like it can still apply to platonic relationships. Pretty much all of Varian’s relationships in Corona were conditional. As in, when he wasn’t being their idea of perfect or what they wanted from him, they turned on him. But the people Varian has relationships now, in the Big Hero 6 world, they accept all of him. Varian is there friend, and he doesn't have to do anything to be that. The Tangled crew, royal family, and the people of Corona wouldn’t listen to Varian when he try to ask for help, call them out on their problems and etc. So Varian had to fight alone. Even before the amber and such, Varian was used to doing things alone. But his friends in the Big Hero 6 world are letting him know, he’s not alone anymore. Apologize by OneRepublic. Again I know this song is meant to used in a romantic light, or a breakup type light, but I think it can also be used in a platonic way. This Varian saying that he used to trust the Tangled crew, he even looked up to and admirer some one them, but he knows better now. And a simple “I’m sorry” isn’t going to fix things. Savages by Marina And The Diamonds. All of Corona likes to think of themselves as this perfect place with perfect people. But it’s pretty much a dystopia with glitter painted on it to make it look nice. The rulers are awful, the laws are awful, and the people of the kingdom are awful. Guilty All The Same by Linkin Park. The Tangled gang and the kingdom of Corona, especially the royal family want to play victim and blame Varian and others for all their problems, but they truth is, they caused most of the problems, have the power to fix their problems, but chose not to. Fairytale by Gabby Sophia. This is mostly on the list because of the lyrics “What if the bad wasn’t the bad guy? What if the hero wasn’t really good?” because that more or less described Varian with the Tangled series. Another part of lyrics that describe what Varian had gone though in Corona is “I guess the beast ended up alright in the end, but what if the enchantress messed with their heads? Maybe she made them all hate him. What if he was always kind and it was just their state of mind?” because Varian only tyring to save his dad and no one would help him, and the king and later the rest fo the Tangled crew painted him as the bad and turned everyone in the kingdom against him. Also, this song has the feeling of someone who grow up with fairy tales and then finding out about their horrible truths, and Honey Lemon seemed to love fairy tales and is now horrified at how Varain was treated in Corona. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nafLvGJUE8

Hi, everyone!

As a huge Black Mirror fan, I was psyched about the new season but had tempered my expectations after season 5's awfulness.

And well...

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

This was legit the best season since season 3! 🙌🏼

I absolutely adored Demon 79 (very Swarm with the awkward murders), and Loch Henry got SO intense with the crazy twist. I also LOVED the mask parallel with the BAFTA statue...so clever!

I'm seeing that people weren't into Mazey Day, but I enjoy any paparazzi takedown, and the early oughts setting was fun (loved seeing Zazie again since Atlanta ended). Very "Britney's New Look" on South Park, and I didn't pick up on the double meaning of "shoot me" until reading the comments (oy!). Loved the use of Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole" as well!

Finally, I was SO impressed by Josh Hartnett's acting in Beyond the Sea. I remember when he was a big teen heartthrob (I had a roommate that was obsessed with him in college), but I hadn't seen him in anything since that abomination Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck. Let's just say...he has aged really well, and him growing a beard in space reminded me of Bo in Inside! Haha

Just noticed the Y in "Beyond" is the symbol from White Bear...nice (I've even made that icon on my Rubik's cube)!

Aaron Paul was also FANTASTIC in that episode. Fun fact: Bo and Aaron had a weird and hilarious interaction on Twitter after Aaron saw what. for the first time. The parenthetical asides are so clever!

My least favorite was definitely Joan Is Awful. Too over-the-top for me, but Salma Hayek was pretty funny in it, and boy did I love the Michael Cera cameo (George Michael!).

What did you think of the newest season of Black Mirror? What's your opinion of Charlie Brooker and his writing—do you think any episodes will be nominated for an Emmy? I could easily see BTS getting a nod, particularly Josh and Aaron.

I'm also now really excited about a "Red Mirror" spinoff if it maintains the campy '70s vibe...reminded me of Hammer horror films ✌🏼

WOE.BEGONE Episode Summaries, Season 5

For easier navigation of a re-listen. Contains major spoilers for seasons 1-4 and vague spoilers for season 5.

Ep. 49: The Princess Daffodil Experiment One mission, two Mikeys: one in the field and one back at Base. One handheld time-travel device. Five cameras. One machete. Sixteen quarters. One rubiks cube. One man mysteriously connected to Edgar's lost year. What could go wrong?

Ep. 50: Propagation & Consolidation Edgar sends Mikey to the Self-Proclaimed Center of North America for a lottery ticket and another surprise mission. Mike shows up to make a correction.

Ep. 51: Corrections, Corrections Mike and Michael patch Mikey up and discuss their own, differing, experiences of the Rugby mission.

Ep. 52: Calculating Edgar comes to extract Mikey, and Base finally gets to test out the calculators' consolidation functionality on a human.

Ep. 53: O.V.E.R Mike There is now one version of the youngest Mike Walters at Base and another at O.V.E.R. The former directs the latter on another mission into Tier 2.

Ep. 54: Connectivity Anne, Base Mikey, and Base Edgar are planning new time travel experiments when Marissa barges in with news of a crisis. They attempt to avert this crisis with time travel, but this causes problems with the Tier 2 confrontation several months ago.

Ep. 55. The Surprise Field Trip Michael takes Mike on an unexpected drive through Latvia, during which he recounts some unauthorized time travel and makes an unexpected proposal.

Ep. 56: Sweet Dreams Marissa and Ravi go back in time to spy on the younger Ty Betteridge, but Mike and Michael must intervene again.

Ep. 57: The Ty Betteridge Data Operation Mikey recounts the Ty Betteridge Data Operation, Part One, and its failure from the other end of the inter-temporal earpiece.

Ep. 58: Forget While eating a late breakfast of a boar Michael shot while hunting with the landlord, he and Mike make plans to kidnap and interrogate Ty.

Ep. 59: Post-Mortem Base gathers in Mikey's cramped bedroom in front of a PowerPoint to discuss what went wrong with TBDO and what to do next. Several arguments ensue.

Ep. 60: Ready to Die Mikey and Hunter go back in time to track down the man Ty Betteridge killed. Mike and Michael go back in time to track down Kasimieras Berzina.
