Can Tulpa be something of a voluntary identity? I identify as a Soulbond, whereas another headmate in my system identifies with being a Tulpa. We are both OCs of another headmate in the system, we are both here with intent from that headmate, we both have a strong sense and memory of the past that was built by the other headmate that wrote about us. I find the fact we both identify ourselves as having a different sort of origin very interesting. The headmate that called to/created both of us doesn't really regard either of us differently, I guess my comrade feels she was more "built" and I feel more like I was summoned and that's the only real difference I see.

Anon, as somebody with soulbonds, this is literally the only difference we objectively see too LOL like we could go on and on about spirituality and coming from outside vs inside the body and all that, but when you get down to it, the only tangible difference between us (tulpas) and our soulbonds that we've noticed is, mainly, that tulpas feel "built" over time, and our soulbonds popped in here all at once like being summoned. You're totally not alone in that

As for tulpa being a voluntary identity, you bet it is! Not all created or intentional headmates are tulpas, or even want to be called tulpas even if they may fall under the umbrella. It's totally up to you! Do whatever you think feels best.

I wrote some Star Wars fanfiction! It's been a while and I'm very pleased to have written.

Relationships create a bond between people. When you're Force Sensitive, a symbol of that relationship, that bond, is painted on your skin. If it's a strong enough bond, it can overcome very limited Force Sensitivity. Galactic civilization has rather romanticized these marks, declaring them proof of soulmates.

That has strong consequences when Anakin Skywalker's marks disappear.

I know that this is a tulpamancy blog, but I was wondering if you knew any resources about soulbonders? I've checked the Pluralpedia page and dived into some old pages archived in the Internet Archive (along with some old blogs here on Tumblr) but I wondered if you knew any websites and the like? I'm especially curious about the history of the phenomenon and I'd love to read about experiences soulbonders have/had. Sophya sat in the wreckage of her life, among doubt and defeat and the dance of rain against glass. No more than an unhappy moment ago, she’d made a choice. She’d keep going. She’d not leap into the monstrous pit looming beyond the window, with its green lip where plants clung to the edges and its gaping thirst for the rain pouring into it. No. She’d keep going. She’d not give up on Krisi. And she wouldn’t waste all the wayward effort she’d put into ruining (and often ending) the lives of all the people who’d been unlucky enough to cross her path in one way or another. Like a certain Varrett Vild Vickers, tethered to her against his will. Or like Pete. Dead. And all the others; the people in the shuttle, the nameless person who’d kept her out of Monarch’s hands. Also dead. She took a shaky breath and stared at the puzzle box Isaac had given them. It sat cold and dormant in her hands, a simple, heavy sphere of steel grey metal with a thin line of yellow dividing it. The choice no longer made sense.

can a soulbond or something similar form accidentally or semi-intentionally? i’m quite new to this terminology, but i have experienced a few times in the past what feels like a surprise to both myself and the other person i am somehow communicating or establishing a link with. these connections are in some ways similar to having characters or muses which think independently but are also similar to communicating with angels (a comparison from experience, i’m sure there are better ones)

Hello! So recently I have came across the term Soulbond and im now questioning a lot of things. I have been identifying as plural for about a year now and I have two headmates that are both fictives. I have been reading the definition(s) I have found for Soulbonding and stuff and it sounds like sorta what I experienced. The problem is that I have things more leaning on the plural side vs just soulbonding. Any advice is welcome <3

Soulbonding does count as plurality in an opt-in way - if you identify as being many in the same brain, even if some of those brainmates are from another universe, you're still able to belong under the plural umbrella if you want.
