This Week in BL - new entries upset the rankings
Organized, in each category, with ones I'm enjoying most at the top.
April 2024 Wk 2
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Thai
City of Stars (Fri iQIYI) ep 11 of 12 - Like most Thai BL pulps, this show doesn’t have much story to it. But I'm discovering that what it does have I actually really enjoy. I love that the gay boys got to play matchmaker for a change and I like how just GAY they are. It's nice. Refreshing.
We Are (Weds GMMTV iQIYI) ep 1-2 of 16 - University ensemble BL featuring PondPhuwin, WinnySatang, AouBoom, MarcPawinPoon. I like it. It’s old school Thai BL, but having fun with itself and its tropes. I’m not expecting much, so I don’t mind it waffling. All the couples are comfy. Chemistry is okay. Friendships are nifty. I like Pond's floppy hair. We fine.
Two Worlds (Thurs IQIYI) ep 5 of 10 - What an extremely bloody episode. And bad guy turned out to be very bad indeed. And now pretty much everyone is dead. Nice kiss. Of course.
Tumblr media
Deep Night (Thurs iQiyi) ep 6 of 8 - It’s cute, they happy, not a ton happened. Random gratuitous bathing. As you do in BL. And I still think the sides should just end up in a thrupple
Only Boo! (Sun YouTube) ep 2 of 12 - Oh they very cute. Also very silly.
Tumblr media
1000 Years Old (Thurs iQIYI) ep 9 of 12 - No. NOT THE GUITAR. YES abandon guitar for the sniff test! Love this for them. And me. My most favorite trope defeated my least favorite trope. VICTORY!!!
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
Unknown (Taiwan Tues YouTube & Viki) ep 8 of 11 - It’s just so good. Baby went away, grew up, and learned how to become a temptation... and a husband.
Tumblr media
Gray Shelter AKA Gray Currents (Korea Thurs iQIYI) 1 of 5 eps - SooHyuk, only just surviving, reunites with YoonDae, his (brief) younger stepbrother who feels abandoned. They end up living together. The younger brother is played by Lee Jae Bin of Choco Milk Shake. OMG. STEPBROTHERS TROPE. Lucky me! Two in one season. Yay!!!! It's Korea so great visuals too. I shallow but yeah, this is great.
Living With Him AKA Kare no Iru Seikatsu (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 1 of 10 - Kindly Ryota goes off to uni only to find his new roommate is his childhood bestie, Kazuhito. Kazuhito doesn’t have a girlfriend and Ryota tries to help him figure out why. Same director as Old Fashion Cupcake. It’s utterly charming. I am charmed. Also the framing is gorgeous (of course). Very stylish.
Love is Better the Second Time Around AKA Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto (Japan Weds Gaga) ep 6fin - I don’t know. Kind of a flat ending with the leads apart for most of it. I enjoyed this show but it never really hit with me.
Tumblr media
Summation
After a teen betrayal and resulting separation a reporter reunites with his first love. That love wants him back. I enjoyed the authenticity of a reunion romance explored in Japan's quintessentially contemplative yet surreal way. The juxtaposition of the tenderness of the sex scenes with this Japanese style of authenticity was oddly elegant but all in all this still fell a little flat for me. There's nothing objectively wrong with it, but in total the narrative felt sluggish and the main couple were just... stiff (in the wrong way). Frankly, I'd rather just rewatch Tokyo in April is. 8/10
Love is like a Cat (Korea Mon Viki) eps 3-4 of 12 - What is going on with this show? No, I get the plot. I just don't get the show or why I’m watching it. Annoying.
It's done, but I suck
What Did You Eat Yesterday Season 2 AKA Kinou Nani Tabeta? Season 2 (Japan Gaga) 10 eps
To Be Continued (Sat C3 Thailand grey) ep 7-8fin - I can't for the life of me find the final 2 episodes. Haven't had a real hunt, but yeah. No dice so far.
Tumblr media
It's airing but...
Takumi-kun Series 6: Nagai Nagai Monogatari (Japan Furritsubs) eps 1-? of 10 - I may wait and binge it.
Lady Boy Friends (Thai WeTV grey) 16 eps - reminds me a bit too much of Diary of Tootsies only high school. Not my thing. DNF unless it turns a corner and is truly amazing.
Kiseki Chapter 2 (Sun iQIYI) 6 eps - It’s so boring DNFed at 2.
Close Friend Season 3: Soju Bomb! (Weds iQIYI) 6 - The problem with situational comedy BL is it must be situational, comedic and a BL. This show gets 1 of 3 claims correct. 33% is not a passing grade. Dropped at 3.
Memory in the Letter (Thai WeTV) - only 4 eps, tell me if I should bother?
Next Week Looks Like This:
Tumblr media
4/18 At 25:00 in Alaska AKA 25 Ji Akasaka de (Japan Thurs Gaga) 10 eps - Yuki lands his first starring role in a BL drama alongside superstar Asami (previously his senior at uni). Said superstar suggests they form a sham relationship until filming concludes. As they actually begin to fall in love, the spotlight begins to burn. I think I've seen this before (joke) and also the trailer doesn't inspire confidence.
Still to Come in April
4/25 Boys Be Brave! AKA Roommates (Korea Thurs Viki) 8 eps - Trailer Jung Ki Sub is Kim Jin Woo's slacker friend - and secret crush. So when Ki Sub crashes at his place, his heart tingles to be near him everyday. But as the short stay turns into permanent mooch, how long can Jin Woo keep his true feelings under wraps and hold back from confessing?
4/26 My Stand-In (Thai iQIYI) 12 eps - adaptation of Chinese novel "Professional Body Double" by Shui Qiang Cheng. Stars Up (Lovely Writer) and Poom (Bake Me Please) directed by the same team as KP (not a recommendation IMHO - my biggest criticism of that show was the clashing directing styles). This one looks complicated, lemme try: Joe is a stuntman for famous actor Tong. Joe falls in love with Ming but Ming sees Joe as nothing more than a Tong-replacement. After learning this horrible truth, Joe dies. Joe then wakes up in the body of another man also named Joe. He manages to rebuild the same life as before—with the same people eventually re-meeting Ming. Ming wants Joe back but Joe doesn't understand why. But Ming seems to know what's going on and wants to give him some kind of explanation.
I'm exhausted just trying to describe the plot.
Knock-Knock Boys (Thai WeTV) - 4 college friends conspire to help their friend lose his virginity. Familiar faces like Seng (yes, Billy's previous pairing) and Best, news here. But will it actually air this month?
Upcoming BLs for 2024 are listed here. This list is not kept updated, so please leave a comment if you know something new or RP with additions.
NOTE: It looks like one of my personal favorites of last year Unintentional Love Story is getting a spin off!

❤️ Romance in the Air ❤️
Time Elapsed (1): 1 hour, 3 minutes
Time Elapsed (2): 57 minutes
Program: Ibis Paint X
Tumblr media
"You know, Zelda... There's something I've been meaning to talk to you about."
Tumblr media
Happy Valentines Day :) This is my obligatory SS Zelink appreciation post.
Time for another headcanon ramble!!! 🎉
As one of my favorite LoZ games (and one I'm playing through right now), Skyward Sword just had to be what I posted on Valentine's Day! Link and Zelda in this game are so cute! They're practically canon, they even have a theme titled "Romance in the Air" (and no one can convince me the pun isn't intended).
It's pretty clear that, unlike most games, their relationship wasn't ambiguous. These first incarnations were childhood friends, and even before the world was at stake it seemed their bond was unbreakable. Their dynamic in general is amazing, and the chemistry that is somehow present within scenes without Link talking beyond dialogue options really goes to show how close the two are. It really makes me feel bad that they had to go through so much just to get that moment of calm back.
Near the beginning of the game, Zelda (somewhat timidly) asks Link to go fly through the clouds with her in celebration of his victory at the Wing Ceremony. While they're in the sky on the backs of their loftwings, Zelda mentions there's something she's been meaning to talk to Link about. But, of course, she gets ripped from the sky by a dark tornado just before she can finish her sentence. She never gets to finish, either, as when she lands she is plunged into a destiny she unknowingly set for herself eons ago. Both are sent on journeys of their own, ultimately leading to the reunion of the Triforce and the Hylia statue's return to the surface. It is there that Zelda tells Link she wants to stay in this land. Many people interpret Link's smile in response as an agreement. While I am one of those people, I also believe that Link had more to say afterword.
Throughout the events of Skyward Sword, it is very clear his initial motivations were to make sure Zelda was okay. Even if dismissed or further separated by Impa or Ghirahim, Link was willing to take up a sword and fight to reach her. And, in the end, his worst fears came true. Not only did Zelda have to seal herself away- potentially forever if he failed- but when he freed her, Ghirahim intervened and put Zelda's life on the line. Despite the severity of the situation, I don't think Link saw a goddess's soul about to revive the ancient king of demons. I think he saw his best friend, the girl he loved, in the midst of life or death.
In the end, when the two finally achieve the peace they've been traveling across the surface to grasp, there's a final post credits scene with them atop the descended Hylia statue. Link plays Ballad of the Goddess on Zelda's harp much like she did at the beginning, and they get to take in the hope of a new future over the horizon. With everything they'd been through up until then, what would be a better time to finish where they left off with their lives?
Anyway, that's where I'll leave the rambling for now. To be continued, more than likely.
Reblogging is fine, but please don't post this anywhere else without linking the original post. Thanks!

Sorry if I'm late for the ship ask game. Can I ask for these ships :
- Killua/Gon (my fav non canon ship from any shounen until now)
- Zuko/Sokka (my fav ship from ATLA, and they're also my top 5 fav characters from that series)
- Gojo/ Getou (sorry, I know you dislike those two, but I want to know your opinion on this ship. Also, they're my main reason to enter JJK fandom)
Thx if you want to answer
KilluGon
Absolutely ship it!
What made you ship it?
Canon, they're prone to these very romantic moments.
What are your favourite things about the ship?
How devoted they are to one another. They meet by accident and get entangled with each other so quickly. Killua follows Gon around during the exam, then Gon goes to save him and since then it becomes a duh for them that they do everything together. And then the trauma they both endure puts a strain on their bond and we see in real time how their relationship partially sours because they are too young and they don't know how to deal with the trauma and the stress. They make each other better and worse, and it just feels so real. It's just amazing.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Idk how unpopular it really is but Gon isn't abnormally selfish, and he's not some villain in their relationship. They both contribute to it hurting them both. People getting hurt in relationships and still fighting for them and working on them is just so normal. I think also that people who dislike Gon or have no interest in him should no be shipping this. And Killua isn't a soft uwu boi. He's got a mean streak, is petty and prone to addiction, the soft boi outfits are a lie.
Zuko/Sokka
I don't ship it.
Why don’t you ship it?
In a previous ask reply I talked about how much I like MaiKo. And that's just my default ship for Zuko. The thing with Sokka is that his heterosexuality forces him to reconsider his misogyny, it's not ideal that this is what makes him start respecting women but honestly, who cares as long as he doesn't act like sad loser towards women in the end. And I'm saying this because having a sister who was his life line and his keeper for years after they lost their mother and were left behind by their father, did nothing to make him not a dick to women. And I think that if Sokka'd been gay, he'd've never changed. He'd've been one of those gays who look down at women. What if he lead Zuko there too? Like Azula makes Zuko's life quite awful, so some bigoted takes about women could've made him a misogynist and feel justified for it too.
What would have made you like it?
If they had more chemistry in canon. I just can't imagine an exciting dynamic between them to engage in shipping it? Nothing about this ship makes me think they could make each other better and that's a must for me to ship anything, really.
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
I'm sorry but not really. I have barely seen this ship around because I don't go to the ATLA fandom, I don't think even fanart for it has ever crossed my dash. I mean it's marginally better than Zuko/Katara, because that one is just toxic heterosexuality the ship.
Gojo/ Getou
omg, not really.
Why don’t you ship it?
Like with HisoIllu, I accept that this is a logical ship and it's likely canon. But unlike HisoIllu, I actually actively can't stand it.
Generally, considering how toxic Gojou's personality is, I consider all his het ships misogyny and all his queer ship, queerphobia, even such absolutely toxic shit like SukuGo, even GoKen, even Gojou/Touji. I don't even like Touji but not even he deserves that. Apart from SatoSugu. Getou was a truly disgusting fascist adult and a condescending fuck as a teen, I think they can have each other.
Why I actively despise it, is because of the fandom. The fans of these two characters separately and those of this ship are some of the loudest and most obnoxious in this fandom. They will literally take panels, scenes or chapters that are about other characters and unleash some truly unhinged word vomit to make it seem like there's some connection to Gojou, Getou or their ship. Usually it's either complete misrepresentation of what is in the manga or pure untagged fanfiction. But the tags of other characters get regularly flooded by this kind of shit. They act as if they couldn't stand there being parts of the JJK fandom where their favs are not worshiped, where their ship is not the most important thing.
What would have made you like it?
Nothing. If it weren't for the fans, I would've been neutral about it. I wouldn't have cared about it because a thought about any dynamic between these two assholes leaves me completely cold. But I wouldn't've cringed when I saw it in the tags to the fics in my tags. I wouldn't've cringed writing the single Gojou involving scene I've ever written.
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
No, I'm still sad that the most awful fans of these two and their ship haven't rage quit the fandom when Sukuna finally reduced Gojou to tolerable portions. Honestly it seems to be getting worse. Despite how liberally I block, it still often feels, even on some leaks days, that there's more about this ship in the JJK tags than of the actually relevant stuff.

the eclipse series: a review
i will forever love this series and it’s characters. it will be hard to let them go and i will surely come back to them for comfort or nostalgia. i will miss the eclipse fridays, the community built around it and coming here to spend hours reading everyone’s breakdowns and theories.
the incredible cast! (best thing about the series)
first and khaotung as the main leads;
two amazingly talented actors with great real-life chemistry, that translated beautifully into akk and ayan. the dynamic that they created for akkayan, their micro-expressions and eye acting elevated this series! they’re amazing at the emotional, the dramatic, the serious, the fluff, the suggestive, …i hope to see more of them together. gmmtv hit gold with them, finding two actors that match so well. they have what it takes to surprise us with a completely different concept and story. i look forward to see them separately too, as i’ve enjoyed their previous roles and have seen the evolution and range of their individual talent.
neo and louis as the secondary couple;
i had already seen them together in futs, where they were very cute. i had also seen neo, in a couple of other shows. it was interesting seeing their duality. neo being usually a comic relief character, got to show a more serious and tough side, while louis went from loud and clingy, to reserved and distant. i’m curious of what more they can offer as a pairing, and would certainly support them as a main couple. they’ve said that they want to continue working together so, will gmmtv make them stay as a secondary couple forever?
ploy, pawin and aj;
they did great in their roles for the little time they had for onscreen development; as the conflicted young new teacher that chooses to compromise, the misguided kid that wants to be included and belong, and, as the conflicted student with big dreams of becoming an indie movie director, respectively. i think it’s time that aj gets a main role (maybe with ploy? they seemed to be pushing them together a lot). he really impressed me in ep 11 when he was mad at akk, there was something in his eyes, i’d like for him to explore that. i’d seen all three of them before in other projects and they’re pretty consistent.
pak, tee and petch: the world remembers gang a.k.a. the youth rights club;
i loved them. they were the strong ones, the victims all along and who did nothing wrong! they wanted what's best for everyone. they deserve the world! the actors played them delightfully. a series centered around them would be incredible! they were never used for laughs. the show always took them seriously and so did the characters, and i am so thankful for that! this is unfortunately not the standard in bl series.
the adults: p’yai, p’sine, p’iang, p’jum and p’ron;
the “adult” actors that stood out were teachers waree and chadok, and the principal. they were incredibly intimidating, and played great antagonists. i loved to hate them. i have questions about their characters, though that has nothing to do with the actors, like: did waree believe in the curse? was the principal a teacher for chadok, the same way he was for akk? did the principal allow all those changes to suppalo after chadok resigned? and more…. i liked aye’s mother, and was hopping to see more of her. i also enjoyed uncle dika’s performance. we saw him only as flashbacks from different characters’ eyes, and he succeeded in transmitting every good thing that they thought of him.
the plot
the idea of showing a school as an allegory for a nation isn’t new, but it always has great potential, and i believe that they hit the spot many times! it wasn’t necessarily innovative, but it was brave. a courageous story to tell, from it’s preproduction and it’s crew, to the social commentary and political messages at its core, verbalized mostly by the world remembers gang and ayan.
the mystery wasn’t perfectly managed, but it also wasn’t really the focus of the series. it was largely the background for these characters to exist and these relationships to develop. however, it did keep me guessing at times and asking different questions, that were later answered, one way or another.
the diversity of queer representation
my favorite thing about this show was the different types of lgbt+ journeys:
akk who seemed to be only starting it, who was so scared and repressed to be himself. his economic background already made him stand out in the school, he didn’t need to also not be “normal”.
ayan who had already fully and confidently accepted who he was, thanks to his uncle and mother who were so supportive of him.
the 3jums who never really had the choice to hide, so they owned who they were and fought for their (and everyone’s) right of self expression.
kan who knew but wasn’t sure, tried to repress it because society made him think that it wasn’t okay to feel what he felt.
thua who was out, not explicitly by choice. he couldn’t hide it, but he could make himself small, take as little space as possible, to the point of never speaking up, so he would be ignored.
chadok, who unfortunately lost his fiancé because of his own fear of standing up for himself. he chose the same antiquated system that had already hurt him so much for years, the system that doomed his lover, over his own freedom.
the cinematography and technical aspects
they didn’t have much budget, but the plot didn’t really demand it. the direction was purposeful and the cinematography was skillful; there were some very beautiful shots throughout the series. the symbolism of the eclipse always very present, sometimes quite obviously, but often subtle and organic. technically it was well done, with deliberate lightning and the sound being better than most bls. there were some small continuity errors, the biggest imo being the hair lenghts changing between some scenes.
however the writing;
as a whole (mostly the last two episodes) the writing was somewhat underwhelming, not meeting my initial expectations, nor the potential of the series… while most of the elements to make this series exceptional were there, what really affected the quality of the writing —not saying that it was otherwise perfect, but it was good enough— was that 12 EPISODES WERE NOT ENOUGH TIME!
this story, these characters, these conflicts needed, at least, a few more episodes to develop and come to a conclusion, at most, dividing everything into two seasons.
the pacing of the first 10 episodes was so pleasing to me. it gave me AND the characters, enough time to examine their feelings and talk through them. it focused on how the environment and the interactions in it affected the characters! we saw them exist in their world and with each other, without anything being rushed. it felt natural, i loved it.
but we lost this in episode 11. it was just revelation after revelation, leaving no time for the viewer, nor the characters, to process what was going on. unfortunately with one episode left, there wasn’t much they could do. so they ended up skipping what had once been their main focus; the internal emotional journey of the characters.
episode 12 was cute and fun;
i loved that we got to see akk come out to his parents, as well as him and ayan introducing themselves as a couple to them. those are important moments in the lgbt+ journey! especially for a teen.
i loved to see how after being finally out, the freedom akk felt was visible not only in his relationship with ayan, but also in his face and his whole existence.
i loved all the moments between akk and ayan; the rooftop scene, the pool side scene, everything at the beach and in akk’s room, the little classroom exchange, the —in the words of a twitter moot— mutual pinning,
i loved the full circle moments of opening and closing the series on the red boat, and, the school bathroom scene with the hoodies. these showed growth, making us think back at how akk was and felt at the beginning vs now; and how akk and ayan were and felt when they met vs now.
BUT
it brushed over the huge revelations of the previous episode and so the build up of the whole series fell flat.
the apology to the world remembers was one sentence each? i said it before, they deserved apologies and reparations! i needed akk to officially apologise to them, as well as thua, the prefects, ayan, all the students, and the teachers, too. i did like how akk wasn’t expecting to be forgiven.
actually, within the friend group, no one really apologized to one another. i wanted group therapy full of tears and apologies.
the outing was not addressed (as expected, but i had a slimmer of hope).
the changes to the school (although great) felt unearned… we didn’t see who made this changes and why? it just, felt weird to shove them in a couple of minutes at the end of the episode, when the school and its antiquated system were the main villain of the series! the change of heart of teacher waree also was too sudden.
i wanted to see a serious conversation between kan and thua about everything. i wanted thua to acknowledge his wrongdoings the way akk got to do, multiple times, with ayan. i wanted to see kan be there for him while he went through it. i needed this for closure with their characters and their relationship. these posts by heretherebedork go further into this better than i can. honestly, thua’s character as a whole felt very abandoned to me. they hinted at him having a possibly abusive stepfather, but then it was dropped. they showed us signs mental health struggles, with him wanting to disappear (did i imagine that?), they dropped it too. his friendship with ayan, or whatever they had going, was also dropped at some point. i think that, with him, they focused too much on kan, and not enough on thua as an individual. he’s the only main character that didn’t really grow and learn? everyone else ended different than they started.
WHAT WAS TEACHER SANI DOING AT THE BEACH WITH THEM, THEY WERE DRINKING? she traveled with them all the way to akk’s house… i was scared until the las second that she and wat would have a thing.
the ending felt a little too “coming of age” teen movie. not very fitting when the series touched on quite serious and heavy topics. i don’t mean the happy ending, i mean the way it’s was all so quickly wrapped up and summarized. i half expected the voice over to name each character and what they became. “after graduation, wat became a big name in the indie film scene; the world remembers gang became youth leaders for the community; kan and thua decided to adopt singto and moved in together; and as for me and ayan, he’s thinking of studying political sciences, to no one’s surprise. me, i don’t know yet what i want to do with my life, but that’s okay! for now we are taking some time off and traveling the world together, as boyfriends…”
closing comment:
all in all, i thoroughly enjoyed this series; the talented actors and lgbt+ diverse journeys being the main pull. a lot of work was obviously put into writing (most of) the characters, but the plot was underdeveloped. there was a weird tone and pace shift between the last three episodes, and i want to attribute that to a time issue. sincerely, i would not want to sacrifice the pacing of the first 10 episodes, for parts of 11 and 12 to feel less rushed. it needed additional episodes, not a faster pace.

Aftermath Re-cap
Let’s travel back in time to October 8, 2023, moments after When Calls The Heart’s Season 10, Episode 11 finished airing. In the last few minutes of the episode, the two lead characters broke off their engagement amicably and went their separate ways, content with still being friends. Some fans were happy and some fans…
…well if you’re here, you’ve seen some of the reactions.
Tumblr media
GOODBYE!
Two fictitious adult characters realized they weren’t right for each other = morals are gone.
Tumblr media
“Look like a slut”
And there it is. You see the crazier fans allude to it a lot, but few of them are brave enough to say it outright. They think this woman, who hasn’t had sex with the man she was engaged to, is a “slut” for breaking off her engagement and maybe realizing another man is who she’d rather be with.
This person is yet another fan who seems to think Chris is leaving the show, despite there being no proof. Mind you, this seems to be a demographic of people who clearly think that if they believe something hard enough, it has to be true.
Tumblr media
“Anti-marriage agenda”. Because once fictitious characters are paired up, they must stay together no matter what. Things like actor availability, chemistry, fan interests aren’t factors. It’s all a plot by the evil secularists to destroy God from within.
Also, “Allie & Robert”... those two are kids. Please don’t be weird about the child actors.
Tumblr media
Character limit isn’t enough. Twitter needs to limit how many times you can respond to yourself.
The lore of Lindays Sturman according to the Lucabeth fans is fascinating. Lindsay is apparently unqualified to be the showrunner because she had never watched the show before accepting the job. Only hard-core, super fans of any kind of media should ever be showrunners apparently. She binge watched all the episodes, which is somehow no good because something about not being able to understand When Calls The Heart the way people who obsessively watch all 100+ episodes constantly understand it.
But now, this woman who’s never watched the show, watched it once and decided to join one side of this fandom that likes one of the male characters. And from there worked with the channel WCTH airs on to DESTROY the show.
Do you people who say this stuff understand how stupid you sound?
“They likely want WCTH off the air so they can replace it with some other ridiculous and corny series that fits their new agenda.”
Why would they do this? When Calls The Heart has amazing ratings compared to other scripted TV series on cable. What would be the benefit in getting rid of something popular that brings them money? WCTH isn’t on every hour of the day. If they want to bring in new shows and content, they can.
And be brave. Tell me what their “new agenda” is? Because I’ve seen people lose their shit at Hallmark for having more movies with non-white leads, gay couples and non-Christian holiday movies. If that’s not what you mean by “new agenda” say what you mean then. Because that sure is what it sounds like.
People constantly bring up producer Brian Bird and the former showrunner John Tinker saying they weren’t going to change who the love interest is. I understand being disappointed, but it’s come to a point where people are starting to sound like children. “YOU BROKE YOUR PROMISE D:” Yes. That’s life. Things don’t always go the way you want them to go. If a TV show changing its main couple is what gets you to realize strangers sometimes tell lies, consider yourself very fortunate.
Those stupid drumroll emojis… you can tell this is a person who’s only frame of reference for anything in life is from TV and movies. People like this can’t talk like a normal person. It really is “main character syndrome” and they see themselves as the underdog giving the dramatic, rousing speech.
“...which on 1920 was deemed as adulterous and immoral, and it is.”
Hearties in general really love to pick and choose when to either praise or complain about the show’s historical accuracy. World War 1, the Spanish Flu, Residential Schools, the realities of racism and sexism… pay no mind. Isn’t it great that these things never happened and we don’t need to address them in our happy make-believe world of Hope Valley :)
A woman broke off her engagement and might have feelings for another man, well clearly that’s adulterous and immoral in the 1920’s AND IT IS!

What are your thoughts on Titanic? Especially as a romance? Do you think Rose and Jack would’ve had a HEA if he’d survived (I suppose romance convention dictates yes)?
I saw it again this weekend in the theater and was reminded how much I love it. It’s such an impressive spectacle and Leo and Kate really do have iconic chemistry and give great performances.
`
Oh, I adore Titanic. I think it's James Cameron's masterpiece (no I am not willing to hear arguments for anything. else.) and the type of movie I wish was made more these days. I've seen it in theaters during one of its previous re-releases. I somewhat purposefully indoctrinated my younger sibling into loving it by playing it all the time when I was watching them in their infancy (one of their first "sentences" was "I'm flying, Jack", a crowning achievement for 13 year old me). The special effects hold up; the script stands up pretty fucking well; the performances are great; it's the kind of un-self-conscious, wholehearted, bombastic movie that isn't made much today. I am, it must be said, a maximalist personality.
As a romance--Titanic, needles to say, isn't a genre romance due to the unhappy ending for Jack and Rose (sort of) but it is an excellent romantic drama. To me, it does an amazing job with getting you invested in a love story between two people who didn't know each other that long but just... clicked. Part of this is due to the script, but I think that basically any successful movie, but especially romantic movies, are successful because of a combination of a good script and good casting. With romance and erotic movies especially, I think that a movie can have a subpar script but make it work as a fun, enjoyable experience if the chemistry is there. Titanic has a good, if unabashedly sentimental script--it's taken over the top by very strong performances from Leo (who.... listen.... morally he is...... going off the deep end and that's all I'll say on that, but he remains one of the most talented actors of his generation) and Kate (who I also find morally kinda bankrupt, but obviously is a great actress--and this was pre "I will do anything for an Oscar" era Kate).
They also had... incredible chemistry. Do people even test for chemistry before casting leads today? Very few people today, I think, even understand what good chemistry is. I keep seeing those Set It Up people (who I like separately as actors, for the record) upheld as peak chemistry. Jesus. Even people who I would say have good chemistry today... often don't have the type of chemistry Leo and Kate have in Titanic and for that matter in Revolutionary Road. You feel the affection, you feel the fondness, you feel a carnality that nevertheless doesn't betray the innocence of the characters (I'm a "Jack was a virgin" truther, and Rose was not but I doubt she'd slept with more than one other person). I'm not ashamed to say that though I have seen this movie more times than I can count--put a few drinks in me and I'll cry at the end. Again. Because you just get so invested in the romance. And of course, also because the movie has like. Popsicle babies. I mean, Titanic was a true tragedy for all involved, and I actually think the movie portrays that pretty well.
But I mean... Yeah, I think those two would've had to get to know each other better, but they would've had an HEA had he lived. I think they clicked very well personalitywise. They loved each other. They had the determination to make it work. The trauma bond alone would've been intense, lol. I also am of the mind that she dies in the end and the final scene is the afterlife, and like.... I'm not saying she didn't love the father of her children... But did she love him AS MUCH? I don't know. Sorry to that man.
But yeah, I agree with you. Sometimes watching it makes me feel sad in a different way, because I feel like the time for movies like that... Truly epic movies where everything looks so tangible and there isn't a ridiculous IP attached and the story is intense and emotionally authentic and makes you feel bad (in a good way) sometimes... It's probably not over forever, but it definitely ain't happening at the moment and I don't see it coming back super soon.
Also, movies where the leads smashing faces actually sell me on their characters wanting to smash faces. Look at this deleted scene (which, yes it was deleted, but I firmly believe that was less because of the intensity and more because Jack was.... not supposed to be that good at kissing, hashtag Jack was a virgin, hashtag this is my door debate). Jesus. When was the last time we saw kissing like that in a movie that wasn't explicitly meant to be erotic~? People didn't give a shit about their teenagers watching Rose strip naked in the movie theater. (Fun fact: pretty sure Titanic is the first movie I saw with nudity? I was six, my parents were watching it at home, my dad was like "Maybe we shouldn't let her see this part" and my mom went "They're just breasts, she'll have the one day" and by God she was correct.)

i just started watching turkish dramas a few months ago and the first one I fell in love with and watched all the way through (well the first season) was vatanim sensin....ive started a few others but often got annoyed at the characters a few episodes in especially when it's been a light hearted rom com like erkenci kus. The next one i completed was siyah beyaz ask and honestly it's one of the best shows I've ever watched...the chemistry between the two leads was so breath-taking and now I'm just worried that my standards are too high bc I've been comparing every drama i watch to it 😭 ...please can you recommend your top 5 (preferably romance/drama/historical)?
It's been a while since I've posted but med school has genuinely been a rollercoaster ride this year so sorry for the long hiatus. I recently watched Vatanim Sensin and absolutely loved it too (will definitely consider writing a review soon!) but as you all know, Siyah Beyaz Ask has my whole heart. As such, I completely agree with you when I say that it is the sole reason I have so many partially finished dizis. That dizi raised my standards so much so that I'd often get frustrated and stop watching dizis half-way through.
With regards to watching light-hearted romcom dizis, often the biggest problem is that the viewers have to be in the right mood for them. It's quite difficult to enjoy a more comic-heavy romcom dizi when you're craving some mystery or drama. As toxic as it may sound, I do enjoy a little mafia action here and there to spice up the dizi. Anyway, here are the top 5 dizis (in order of preference) that I genuinely continue rewatching to this day:
Hercai – This is one of my absolute favourite shows and one that almost managed to satisfy my post-Siya-Beyaz-Ask depression. It's the perfect mix of drama, mystery, romance and comedy. The two actors have explosive chemistry on screen and are both honestly just so pretty. It helps that every shot is beautifully planned and aesthetically pleasing. However, do keep in mind that this is a very intense dizi mainly based around 'family drama' and involves a lot of violence so the comedy is kept to a bare minimum. Now while it isn't a historical dizi, the locations and general attitudes are very conservative and traditional so there is a somewhat 'period drama' feel.
Son Yaz – This mafia drama is honestly one of the most wholesome dizis I've seen in a while. While the dizi is mainly a romantic drama, there is a light-hearted comedy aspect within every episode and the two actors have electric chemistry. However, in my opinion, what makes this show is the heartwarming father-son bond between Selim and Akgun. What I love most about this dizi is that it's very mature and doesn't conform to the common trope of 'there's no me without you'. It addresses the toxic aspects of love and isn't afraid of separating the main couple in order for Akgun and Yagmur to work on themselves before focusing on their relationship.
Sen Cal Kapimi – This is probably the most light-hearted dizi out of all these recommended dizis but the actors genuinely had amazing chemistry and looked fantastic together. Personally, Eda Yildiz is one of my favourite female leads out of all the dizis I've watched since she has the courage and confidence to stand tall independently and is never ashamed of her social/financial status. One of my least favourite characteristics is a lead that despises/is embarrassed of being 'poor' or 'uncool' but this dizi completely avoids falling into that pattern. While it does follow the 'memory loss' and 'impending death' tropes, they are never too dragged out so the dizi doesn't lose it's magic. I am a strong supporter of couples that improve one another and that is exactly what this couple does. Both Eda and Serkan, while individually seem content and (for lack of a better word) 'perfect', the audience get to peek beneath the surface to understand the deeper wounds each individual has. We get to watch them each grow and overcome their past traumas to become better versions of themselves. This dizi does involve some family drama but it's never really an integral part of the storyline.
Fazilet Hanim Ve Kizlari – This is, once again, a romantic drama centred around family drama and secrets. It is, however, honestly one of the most well-written dizis as it manages to handle creating two main love interests that somehow both seem equally likely to end up with the lead female so keeps the viewers guessing. My only qualm with dizis that involve family secrets is the numerous frustrating 'near-reveals' the writers love to include as it made certain aspects of the dizi feel overly exaggerated. In my opinion, while both Yagiz and Sinan had plenty of chemistry with Hazan, it wasn't as instantaneous or obvious as the other couples in any of the recommended dizis so it may take some time to warm up to them. However, I'm a sucker for tortured star-crossed lover storylines that end in happily ever afters so this dizi was right up my alley.
Elimi Birakma – This is a slightly more light-hearted romcom drama and centres around the topic of family inheritance. While I don't particularly like the 'miscommunication' or 'misinterpreted situation' tropes, this dizi manages to pull it off in a tasteful way. Cenk never truly steps out of line or does anything completely irreversible when he misunderstands Azra but still follows the standard sequence of patterns: distancing, arguing and being unwillingly in love. Unlike most dizis, this one highlighted the respect the couple had for each other. They were willing to respect one another's wishes and diverged from the common scenario where individuals make decisions for the couple as a whole. As a side note, one of my pet peeves is the dizi 'villains' getting away with everything until the very end (which this dizi happens to do) but that's just a personal preference.
I hope this helps you. Good luck finding the perfect fit!

Shadow and Bone: Season 2 Review
Now that I’ve sat with my s2 feelings for a day, I want to put something a bit more coherent together.
Second seasons are always tricky. They tend to fall victim to a major quality drop; very often, a first season manages to be mindblowing and the second season falls completely flat. With how much I loved season 1, I spent the past year very afraid of what kind of quality season 2 might have.
The short of it: I was pleasantly surprised, I don’t think there was a quality drop, I think that quality-wise it was pretty much en-par with season 1.
Sadly, that does include the major flaw - cramming too much plot into too few episodes. Eight episodes are just not enough for just how much they make happen, watching it all is so overwhelming in how quickly everything happens and how nothing is allowed to breath because we have to rush to the next thing because we just don’t have the time to sit with anything. And that’s a shame.
At the very least they could have given this 10 episodes to allow it all to be loosened a little bit more, though I still think that this would have been the perfect jumping off point for a Six of Crows spin off and splitting the two major plotlines this season - the Shadow and Bone season 2 focusing on Alina’s story and giving the Crows their own spin-off. Simultaneous release and make them crossover, when Zoya and Tolya go visit the Crows and when the Crows come join SaB for the season finale, those interactions could have still happened, but I think there would have been less whiplash and more focus if the rest had been allowed to happen in two separate shows.
My favorite thing about this show has been and still is that it has great characters. The plot’s... questionable - I’m not gonna lie, I’m very happy they mixed the book series (despite what I literally just sad; I think it served s1 very well to mix them) - but the characters are so amazing? I’m the type of person who usually really latches onto one characters, that’s mine, and the others become secondary characters to my fave. I don’t think I’ve ever latched onto as many characters before.
I love and adore Aleksander so much, I don’t think I’ve ever felt this feral about and attached to a villain before in my life. Alina is the most compelling female lead I’ve met since Buffy Summers, honestly - she is strong, capable, soft, beautiful, amazing. I fell for Inej so very hard so quickly, she is so amazing. Jesper is absolutely brilliant, that balance of snark and soft coupled with canon bisexual. And I even latched onto Kaz in my own way, because his trauma-response in regards to touch made me project my asexuality onto him and there aren’t many characters that I headcanon as ace so I have a very, very soft spot for those characters in particular too.
That’s already more characters than usual and I genuinely that that would be it. I knew that season 2 would bring new characters and I had hoped they’d be nice additions but I actually grew unreasonably fond of them too.
Tolya and Tamar are absolutely amazing. I wish we could have had more focus on Tamar and particularly her romance - I didn’t like that the Tamar/Nadia basically only happened in the background, like I get that we are pressed for time, I do, but you are wasting so much time on so much straight relationship drama because this show is playing Noah’s Arc to degrees that are very rare to see outside of CW shows honestly, so it would have been nice if I had gotten at least a little focus on the one wlw ship on this show, especially since they did have great chemistry on their scenes together. And Tolya is adorable, the big, strong guy and then he loves poetry and I’m gone.
Nikolai actually makes me feel like someone tailor made that guy for me. The snark! The jokes! The insistence on not remembering Mal’s name! The high levels of chemistry with Alina and the fake marriage trope with Alina! He’s a pirate! He’s a prince! He’s handsome! He’s amazing! What can’t he do! Gotta love him.
Genuinely my favorite part really was on Nikolai’s pirate ship. I would have absolutely watched an entire season of Alina and Mal as parts of Nikolai’s crew. Just. Pirate stuff with Nikolai, Tolya, Tamar and Miradi.
I really thought I would be... disappointed this season. Maybe that’s why I’m not. Because I set my expectations incredibly low so they were hard to beat, but honestly? I genuinely enjoyed the season.
The costumes were absolutely stunning this season, the costume department went all out!
The new characters were great. The plot is still whatever to me, I have thoughts on that that may be worth a separate post at some point but the thoughts aren’t changes from season 1 so it’s not really impacted by season 2. Nothing in season 2 really did anything drastic that disappointed me plot-wise. Well, that’s maybe untrue, but... nothing disappointing in an unexpected manner, perhaps, would be a better way to put that?
Aside from maybe the book spoilers I knew, like that firebird thing. I read about that. I was expecting some epic shot, with an actual firebird, some cool reveal. Not an info-dump from Baghra, of all people. That was... anticlimactic. And it also honestly made no sense? In the books, Alina and Mal went and found the actual firebird, because they were looking for the firebird. Because Alina wanted to use the firebird as her amplifier. And then realized that Mal was the amplifier that would work for her. The show kind of... muddled that together and decided that Mal couldn’t find the firebird because he was the firebird. But he... he wasn’t? He wasn’t a bird, he may have been the amplifier, but he wasn’t the actual firebird. That was... weird, boring and also kind of illogical.
I do think the show’s biggest issue is its pacing. It’s like we’re running a sprint, but it’s actually the length of a marathon. I feel out of breath. Please slow down.
I liked the ending. The ending surprised me in a positive way. I did not see a corruption arc for Alina coming at all. I really didn’t. Been advocating for this since like episode 3, nobody told me there would be actual Alina corruption in canon so that’s a nice surprise. I like how this could be a final ending that would leave things open for interpretation while still wrapping up all major plotpoints, but it definitely invites season 3. A very sensible way to end a season when you write for a Netflix show and never know if you will be allowed to live or die.

This is not a drama I would usually choose to watch, but I kept seeing it all over my dash and decided to give it a try. Worth it!
I saw someone compare it to a Ghibli movie, and I can only agree. I'm not sure if I can really explain how it feels to watch this, but I'll give it a go: it feels like a summer vacation where you've just been outside in the sun all day, then coming in and getting comfortable on the bed with your fave book. You don't have to worry about anything, you have no deadlines, no expectations, you are free to do whatever you want. Getting completely lost in a story without a care in the world. Being young and free with the whole world in front of you, endless possibilities.
I loved all the main characters so so much. Na Hee-do shows that if you dream big, you have to put in the work to get there. No matter what you want, as long as you keep doing your best and strive to become better, you can do anything you set your mind to. Baek Yi-jin proves that even if you get knocked down, you can get back up again (this is also me ignoring how they handled his character in the last couple of episodes cause... yeah, not a fan). The world can be cruel and unforgiving, but that doesn't mean you can't find happiness.
The chemistry between these two characters is phenomenal! I rooted for their friendship a lot more than the romance, but overall I just loved them together.
Overall, what I most loved about this drama, was the friend group as a whole. They are all just teenagers being teenagers - awkward and cringy, hopeful of a better future in a world they have just started navigating on their own. I adore their friendships all around and love how supportive they are of each other throughout it all.
I think the only reason why I haven't given it 5 stars is because I don't see myself going back to re-watch it. Yes, I loved it a lot, but it still isn't a genre that usually catches my attention, so once is enough for me.
Still an absolutely amazing drama, though! Highly recommended watch!

List of Turkish Dizis I watched in order of Greatest to Didn't Love It
Part 1 | Part 2
Halka
This one is kind of just amazing. I binged it very quickly and was so sad it ended because I could live in this world for a while. Cihangir, Kahn, and Mujde are my favorite trio. Honestly the bromance between Cihangir and Kahn was so cute and sweet and I love them as much as I Ioved the slowburn between Mujde and Cihangir. The cinematography, the acting, the script, everything about this show was amazing. What I loved most about this show was how smart the characters were. Cihangir, Kaan, Mujde were playing chess when in comparison, it's like every other tv show character was playing checkers. These characters were so smart, and funny, and they had the best dynamic between them. I really can't get enough of them. I think the trio (+ Adem) will go down as one of my favorites forever. The diamond scene is always a favorite. I really wish we got more scenes between them. Especially with Kaan shipping them because that was adorable, how he would quietly laugh at Cihangir crushing on Mujde. Another thing is how well they showed the bonding between characters. It is an excellent example of a show showing and not telling. It's believable that they became close and I don't need to be told. I saw moments between them. I saw the bond. I wasn't told about it.
Honestly, my only regret is that the ending was kind of unsatisfying, but I guess they left it open ended so that people could fill in the blanks themselves. Also the end villain was kind of ridiculous because there had already been another villain before him, but it was like they were trying to make this new guy even worse so they had to tie all the other villains' stuff to him, which kind of ruined the other villains characters. But other than that, and it is literally just those two things, this was an amazing series.
I love Hande and Serkan. I'd seen their other work before this one and I can say that this might be my favorite of theirs.
Bay Yanlis
Ozge and Can have the best chemistry ever. Honestly, watched this one before Halka and it was still on my mind while watching it. This is just a cute romantic comedy. You'll enjoy it more if you don't take anything too seriously. Everything is just happy and sweet and I love it. I massively crush on Can Yaman in this series. He is just so cute. And I love Ozgur and Ezgi together. They were just a playful, happy, and healthy couple that were just trying to figure out their feelings. Sadly it was canceled so it had a really rushed ending but even then, I really enjoyed it. Not only were the lead couple adorable, but the side couples were cute too. Rewatched it twice. Will rewatch again. It's down as one of my favorites. It's so light and fluffy. Highly recommend that you watch whenever you need something happy and fun in your life.
Ariza
What an underrated show!! I don't know what it is about mafia shows, but I just love them. So full of action and badassery! So the story revolves around a taxi driver who enters the mafia world in pursuit of revenge. When you think about it, it sounds weird but it makes sense when you watch it. The plot was very well done, almost no plot holes. There were some inconsistencies but they weren't big or major in a way that detracted from the main villain. The main villain stayed consistent throughout and our hero stayed on path.
The romance in the show was not the biggest draw towards the show, although it did play a major aspect in the plot. I love Ayca and she's a great actress, and I love Tolga and he's a great actor and separately their acting was amazing, and together their acting was great. Basically, my only problem was that I don't think they had the best chemistry. I've seen them have better chemistry with other costars. That's not to say I didn't believe their love story. I did. And it was very well played. It's just that, having seen their other works, I know when something is missing, and it was the chemistry. It was very platonic feeling. But maybe that's just me.
Anyway. Great show. Absolutely loved it. Stayed invested throughout.
Yargi
I'm still watching season 2 of this show but I wanted to start the review now because it's in my head. I'll talk about season 1 since that's the season I completed. I love this show. I took a break from turkish dramas for a bit and came back with this show and it was a great reintroduction. I love the actors, the drama, the cinematography, the music, and the characters. The leads, Ceylin and Ilgaz, played together in Ask 101 (which I only saw s1 of and wasn't too into but I remember thinking they were cute). They have amazing chemistry together. I didn't think their relationship was rushed (or portrayed in a way that was rushed). They had believable and heartbreaking obstacles in their way (familly, death, etc) and I rooted for them throughout. The side characters didn't feel like fillers. I love Pars and Eren so much, I thought their characters had fantastic depth and served to lighten and add tension in scenes and they did it wonderfully. The plot is focused around the murder of Ceylin's family and finding out who murdered who and what happened. There is a lot of betrayal and drama and it's simply fantastic. There are a few plot holes here and there but it's easily ignored. The show does a good job of bringing back important points, or even minor points. I strongly recommend this show. I don't want to say too much to spoil it so I won't, although I will say that if you're anything like me, throughout this show you'll probably be screaming "Chinar! why are you always doing things?!"
I will also say that my favorite part of this show is that it makes sure that characters are held accountable for their actions. They have to live with the consequences. And that is not often found in dramas so the fact that there is a show about accountability is amazing!
Elimi Birakma
This one was an experience. I watched it as I was going through an insomnia-tic period, and it kept me company during the nights that I couldn't sleep. And during the day when I was too dead to work. I honestly really loved this. Especially the first season. The leads had great chemistry and I enjoyed the drama that the side characters provided. Albeit, the beginning had me wanting to punch the Cenk in the face a lot, I appreciated that we got to see his growth, especially going into season 2, and what effect Azra had on him.
Season 1 did a good job of keeping up with plot points and bringing back relevant aspects. There was a theme that everything will eventually be revealed, and lying is useless. That theme is kind of dropped in season 2. I mean there are several plot points that are just abandoned (and cast that just disappear / conveniently die so I'm going to attribute it with problems in the cast during shooting). I was particularly annoyed that they completely wrote off Melis in season 2 even though she played an important role in season 1. Even if the actress couldn't come back, they could at least mention her, I mean she is their sister and they don't even mention her later on. But I digress.
Great show, very much enjoyed it. Really loved the acting and the characters. Noticeable lack of PDA (kissing is a big no in this dizi) but easily overlooked because of the tension and chemistry between the actors.
Sen Cal Kapimi
My introduction into Turkish dizis. I'd seen this on my dash about 20 times and always thought, "hmm... the girl is super pretty, and it looks kind of good, maybe i'll watch it..." and then I never did. Then right as I'm about to go in for my second term of 1L, I decide to binge watch all 52 episodes in 4-5 days. Talk about regrets... I had not realized before starting that Turkish TV shows were 2.5 hours long EACH EPISODE!! That was a shock. But I binged and loved this show. Honestly Serkan and Eda were so cute, the chemistry between Kerem and Hande was amazing. That said, I really loved S2 (even though a lot of people didn't) but I can't really watch S1 anymore. I think looking back on it right now, I think the plot was a little scattered in S1. I get that they had like a bunch of arcs and stuff, but once this guy got amnesia I was like ... lol. That said, I've noticed this does happen to a lot of a shows. The whole, amnesia plot, the guy goes to prison plot, the girl breaks up with the guy because she's being blackmailed plot. It's a lot. I think I would have preferred that if they were going to do all of it, they make it over a longer period of time (like they show time lapses of years going by, instead of all of it supposedly happening in the span of, like, a year and a half.)
That said, I couldn't have picked a better show to get me into Turkish dramas. Really something special. The characters were amazing, the side characters included, and they advanced the lead couple. The disputes between Eda and Serkan actually had real context to them that stemmed from their character flaws/traits, and I really appreciated that.
Uç Kurus
This one is still on going while I'm writing this review, but I just finished episode 24 (instead of studying for finals, fml) and I think this show is amazing. It's a mafia/gang show that just has all the notes of bromance, betrayal, romance, fighting, action, and I love it. The enemies to lovers trope is on high here, with the star crossed lovers.
The show starts with a smaller case (if you consider tracking down a serial killer small) to a larger case (a mafia boss that is the source of childhood trauma that irreparably damaged a family). There is so much about family in this show; it goes into what can be forgiven and what can't be. The complexities of addiction are touched on, as well as prejudice and discrimination.
Saying all this and how much I love this show, I actually do think it doesn't have to go on much longer. I don't know how long they are planning to air the show/how many episodes they intend, but I don't think it needs to be over 28 episodes in all honesty. But we'll see.
Great show, I highly recommend.
Kalp Atisi
I initially was hesitant to watch this because it's a remake of a Kdrama that I loved (Doctors) and I didn't want to do the whole thing where you watch the same show twenty times in twenty different languages. But I was wrong. While this might start out as a Doctors remake (and they basically do everything the same in the first couple episodes) it is incredibly different. This show had it's own character, and it was extremely well done. I was wondering how they were going to extend the plot because Doctors is only 1/8 the length of the show, but they decided to incorporate every doctor show into one show. They used so much of Grey's Anatomy and they had some Chicago Med and I'm sure other shows were incorporated as well. But they just used the major points. So I got to watch some great episodes without having to suffer the boring ones. I think I saw every shooting scene from every show in this one show. I'm not saying that in a bad way either, it was extremely entertaining.
The main characters had good chemistry. I loved both of them so much. They kind of did a role reversal where the male character was the one that was patient and loving and supportive all the time, while the female character was more of the loose canon, and it worked so well. These characters were so well matched and suited for each other. It was honestly a great show.
Yeni Hayat
A more serious drama. Unfortunately it was also canceled after 9 episodes so it didn't get as fleshed out as the writer probably wanted it to be. You could tell that they had plans for it that they just weren't able to deliver because it was canceled. The topic is a serious one -- about domestic abuse. The lead couple, Adem and Yasemin, are both in different relationships. They have an epic slowburn romance that is so sweet to watch. I generally don't like watching shows that have characters cheating on other people, but this was actually really great. They don't really do anything together (besides one kiss in the beginning when neither had feelings for each other besides basic attraction) but they begin to feel something through their friendship. Also their partners are super toxic. Yasemin's husband is abusive (and I kind of hate that for the sake of tying up loose ends to finish the show they had to ease up on making him the villain because for me, he was definitely the main villain) and *SPOILER* Adem's wife is crazy (which was actually a nice twist because initially we thought she wasn't going to be and we sort of rooted for her and her husband, but then she got super obsessive and jealous -- i mean with good reason but her husband wasn't doing anything at that point, and we find out if anything she was the bigger problem since she cheated on him and kept massive secrets from him and that her actions were the root of all her paranoia).
Anyway, I loved this for the chemistry between the main actors. Again, Serkan was in this drama and I might mark him down as one of my favorite male actors. Whenever he smiles, I turn to mush.
Azize
This show was a lot. In very little time. First of all Hande is amazing. I love her always and forever. Her character, Azize/Melek was so well played. I really wish we got more of this so I could see more of her. Unfortunately, it was cancelled after 6 episodes. But from the first episode I was on the edge of my seat. The characters were well done. The plot was great. I only had to suspend my disbelief a couple of times to get through it but I'll attribute the inconsistencies with them rushing the ending because they were cancelled. It's really a show with great characters and star crossed love. Plus it's a mafia show and those are always fun to watch (I love recommendations if anyone has any).
Sol Yanim
This was one of those shows where I was actually genuinely interested in the plots of all the characters. They were all complex and entertaining. The show didn't revolve mainly around the lead couple, but instead was about the family dynamics, and how the lead couple tried to navigate through it while also trying to support each other. Serra and Selim were two very interesting characters who were struggling with childhood traumas. Serra was one of my favorite characters because she remained cool and professional in face of people who were being rude and hostile. She stayed honest to her truth even when it was uncomfortable for her. I love how she never invited anyone into her life that she didn't want there, and she never let anyone push her around. Selim was had a lot of justified anger but his moments with Serra were so soft, and I love how he always tried to be better for himself after being inspired by her. It was a great show about what a new influence can bring to your life.
The side characters were also great and had compelling story lines. Onur is by far the best imo. I think the only disappointing thing is that it ended at 12 episodes so they lost a lot of story lines they were developing. One of the rare cases where I think a show could go on for a bit longer, but this would have been better wrapped up with another episode at least. If only to finish the Erkan story line. Great show otherwise.
Ada Masali
This was a really good show about a city girl moving to an island. The relationship between the leads was very intense (sometimes a bit too much) and kept me hooked. The characters were more mature than characters in a lot of dramas, and they were actually smart. The issues in their relationship revolved around family and trust and those are very believable issues to separate a couple, which I appreciated.
I loved the island. It was honestly very beautiful. I wish there were more scenes about the leads around the island. However, I also wish there could have been more scenes about the city life as well. Because the message kind of became that the city life sucked in comparison which I thought was a bit dismissive. And really confusing/contradictory with the ending. I think one of my favorite things about the show was the leads relationship, but I was a bit sad that towards the end, they almost became side characters in their own story, because it became really polluted by the side characters story lines.
There were a lot of story lines that they could have expanded on but didn't which I thought were lost opportunities (the fathers' story lines, the sea story line, how the family finally accepted them). Most of those story lines were touched on but really quickly resolved, and I just wish they gave more time to those stories instead of the side characters.
Otherwise a great story. Really beautiful.
Wolf
I came for Serkan and I stayed for Serkan. But in all honesty this was actually a good show. It had great acting, cinematography, action scenes. Very moving show about the events preceding the coup in 2016. I am very sad that can't find anywhere to watch the movie with english subtitles though, so I will remain unsatisfied until I find it. I would put it lower in my ranks though, not because it wasn't great, but because I wasn't very entertained compared to other shows. I love action, but this was a bit one note for me sometimes. But I feel like it deserves to be higher, so I'll leave it here for now.
Zemheri
A nice little palate cleanser to get me to stop obsessing over Halka (side note: still not really over how good it was). It was a great story about a pair of lovers torn apart because of a psychopath. The chemistry between the leads was insane and the actors did an excellent job. It was nice and short so it only had one main story arc which was nice. Very enjoyable watch.
Her Yerde Sen
This was really cute. The characters were much more mature than others I've seen and they were fun to watch. They didn't do overly cringy things. Basically the premise is that two people are sold the same house and refuse to be the one to move out, and so they are stuck living together. Of course it also turns out the guy is the girl's boss. And all the shenanigans that ensue basically start there.
The side characters were really sweet in this. There is a side couple that I loved watching. All the couples friends were really awesome and had great story lines.
My one criticism is the ending. I might have put this show on the same level as SCK, but the ending really didn't do it for me. It's a short show already, so you would hope they would stick the landing. But at the last minute they decided to redeem a character, and did a really shoddy job of it. And there were a bunch of plot holes. But whatever. They rushed the ending, and that's basically my complaint. Otherwise, a great show.
Menajerimi Ara
Great show. Honestly. But only until episode 36. It suffered the same problem that many shows suffer, it went on for too long. And I'm not saying that in the way that they couldn't have done more episodes and more seasons, but in the sense that, after episode 36 the storyline flopped hard. Some consistency would have been nice.
I liked the actors, I liked their start and their development. I loved the cameos from other famous stars. They all played fantastically. Nevertheless, I can't help but be a disappointed by the end. But anyway. Good show. Based off the French show "Appelle mon agent" or Call my Agent, which I thought was good.
Meryem
This was good. I liked it a lot. The lead actors had good chemistry. I think my biggest complaint is just that it went on too long. I don't want to give too much away, but it's basically about this guy framing his girlfriend for negligent homicide and all the things that happen after. This guy is the biggest asshole ever and he's a creep besides, but he's also smarter than every other character which kind of pisses me off because except for like two unlucky instances, he's always winning in this show. And it gets very annoying to watch. I mean I liked the dilemma that was going on, how this girl was dealing with being gaslit by her abusive boyfriend and starting to see the light and all that. It was very interesting to watch how this horrible guy was able to get all these girls sucked into his orbit, because it's actually kind of believable. As the audience, we of course know how much of a shit he is, but it's these characters fall into his personality and it was very interesting to see how they have to fight their way out of it. But then it starts to get very annoying with how the other characters do these annoying things like, don't tell the police, or just agree that they'll kill someone for money, and I'm just here like... what. Why would you agree to that. That wasn't in the resume, you don't have to agree just for money.
Another thing that's annoying that is a reoccurring trope in dramas (in general, not just Turkish dizis) is that some characters just don't get held accountable for stuff that they do. Either it's not brought up or it's just forgiven.
The romance here is pretty nice too. It's a slowburn (and then a pretty fast burn once they get together) between the girl who was framed of negligent homicide and the guy who's girlfriend was killed. So obviously they are a little star crossed but interestingly that isn't touched upon a whole lot. I would have thought it would be more compelling if they just dropped the arc of trying to catch the real killer for the thousandth time and instead made it about how their relationship is trying to survive the trauma of her abusive relationship and the shadow of his deceased girlfriend. Unfortunately, it was a missed opportunity.
Honestly though, it was a good show. I got tired of it though by the twentieth jail break from the villain. So if it was shorter, I think it would be doing itself a lot of favors.
Erkenci Kus
Demet/Sanem and Can are cute in this, but honestly wasn't really my type. I got super bored in a lot of places and I didn't end up finishing it. Can, as much as I love him, was doing all these weird hand/arm gestures and he held his phone in a really weird way (which was definitely a directorial choice and I just don't understand why). There was a lot of cringe. The Demet's character, Sanem, was cute in some places but it could turn into an overload of cringe really quickly. I have enough cringe in my life doing my own cringy things, I don't need to watch someone else's. The beginning was good, but it became super drawn out and I just got really bored. Also the fights and arguments between the lead actors just weren't very compelling to me. Weirdly, while it can be compared to SCK, this one just wasn't very entertaining to me. I guess I didn't really get why their characters made the choices they made in some places. Basically, it could have been a much better show if they just cut it down.
Dolunay
Honestly, this might be better than EK, but I put it after because of cinematography and styles (fashion taste in EK is so much better). While it might not be fair, since EK came out later and had the benefit of better technology, I don't really care. That said, Dolunay actually had a better plot, I believed the characters conflicts and I just enjoyed it. It was a more serious drama. I watched it right after watching Bay Yanlis because I wanted more Can and Ozge. That said, very different vibes from the two shows. Also we can definitely see improvement in both their acting in BY.
Can's character, Ferit, was honestly my favorite. He was just so cool and patient that I admired him so much, especially for having to put up with as much shit as he did. I mean people were constantly fucking with him and his relationships. He wasn't a saint, but I mean his patience was on a whole other level and I very much admired that.
I wasn't that into the romance in this one. I basically rooted for the pair to get together out of spite for the other characters who were trying to get between them. But again, there were moments where I really liked the relationship. And I liked how well Ferit handled the problems in their relationship.
PS: there was a character, Alya, who I rooted for. She was a boss, honestly. Sadly, she left the show about midway through so I was very disappointed.
Bir Peri Masali
It was a show that I watched and did not hate. Skipped through most of it. It had some great scenes and the overall plot wasn't bad. The main characters were flawed and that's what made them interesting to watch. Chemistry between the actors wasn't the best. Alina's acting was the best part of the show, otherwise I wouldn't care too much about it. It was good enough to pass the time. Good cinematography.
Carpisma
Watching this was exhausting. I was really only into it because of Melisa and Alperen and I stuck with it as long as I have for them. But I couldn't anymore. Every character in this show is so dumb. I honestly hated watching it at that moment. I had to quit otherwise I would take a break from turkish dizi's entirely (which honestly might not be a bad thing since I've binged so much recently but I'm depressed and exhausted so whatever).
My reasons for not liking this was just that there was so much yelling and skipping over trauma and overreacting but under-reacting and I'm just... ugh.
It did great action scenes though. I will give it that. Much better choreography than other shows. And it did have a good plot. But also, an unbelievable one. SPOILER For example, what woman would spend time with the man that kidnapped her child, killed her husband and has been threatening the man she loves just because she wants to help find the man she loves mother who abandoned the guy when he was a baby. Like, you brought your child to see that man again. I can't. No. and the other guy is upset but gets over it in a minute. I'm just... no. I would never ever forgive that. (I didn't explain this well but please understand that its ridiculous).
I just got too exhausted with it. If you're into something heavy and complex then this would be a good show for you. But I'm not right now. I might come back to it later. But as it is, I abandoned it at episode 13, so... I really only stayed as long as I did for Melisa and Alp. And even their story couldn't keep me entertained (at least up to where I was).
Cherry Season
What can I say about this... I watched this one after Dolunay, again hoping for something good with Ozge and Serkan in it... unfortunately, I was left unsatisfied. I had seen it after watching Yeni Hayat, and after something as good as that, I could not get into something as stupid as Cherry Season. There were a lot of problems here. I am not laying any of them on the actor's feet, although admittedly, they definitely had improved later on which I am thankful for. I just was not a fan I guess. Which is annoying because it had a pretty good premise and plot initially, and it could have been really good. Unfortunately, it felt super stiff, and I mean everyone felt stiff. But like with other shows that run too long, it just got lost. They did dumb things to keep the lead couple separate for dumb reasons and I was just annoyed.
Also, there was this one scene that I really liked where Serkan is running after Ozge on a train, and I love that scene. I love that scene! I just hate that it happened. Because I wasn't done being mad at one of the characters for the stupid thing they did and I was frustrated. It was frustrating.
The side characters became annoying very quickly, and though I did enjoy watching them plot and do nefarious shit, it was still a bit much sometimes. And they got redemption arcs that I couldn't understand. I noticed this theme in Turkish dramas where they don't really hold people accountable for the shit they do and that frustrates me.
Basically, it was rushed while still at the same time, not going anywhere.
Glass Ceilings / Cam Tavanlar
Good actors with no chemistry and stiff acting. Where the plot is good, the dialogue is lacking. Where the cinematography is beautiful, the acting is stale. Where the actors are expressive (with their face and eyes), the movements are stiff. It was a good story and with better execution I would put it higher on my list. Great story about a woman being discriminated against in the work place. Properly shows the frustration and helplessness that is felt when women get looked over for their work but when the same work is done by a man, the tone changes. Good story, I'm sorry I couldn't put it higher on my list.

pas de deux — gojo satoru
Tumblr media
pas de deux [pa•de•de] (french, literally “step of two”), a dance duet.
summary: striving to become a principal dancer, you’re unaware of the curious blue eyes from across the studio, only knowing of his reputation from rumours. when you have to shadow your seniors to learn a principal role and meet the infamous gojo satoru, what happens then?
word count: 11k lmfao
genre: a bit of angst, mostly fluff
a/n: gojo brainrot done. sorry this took so long lol i’m not used to writing long fics but i’m glad i did bc this is acts also as a place for me to dump my passion of ballet aha :”)
playlist here! most of them are classical pieces and a bit of ballet class music, i hope you don’t mind uwu. personally, i’d recommend watching (before or after the fic doesn’t matter hahah) the crazy talented marianela nuñez and vadim muntagirov in the pas de deux that i reference a lot in this fic. they’re my absolute favourite! (´・ᴗ・ ` )
tags: @fiona782
it was unconventional to see a ballerino don white hair during rehearsals, let alone in a company; the familiar head of white whizzes through the studio like an angel of the night, with graceful moves and powerful jumps to match those of a faerie's seamless manoeuvers through her flowers.
that was only expected out of a principal anyway.
gojo satoru, a principal dancer of the six eyes theatre. they were part of the three prominent companies that carried the ballet world and industry. behind all the glimmer and glitz lay hours of endless rehearsals and worn-out pointe shoes, as well as smiles behind kitri's fans or even the emotional miming from giselle.
he was untouchable, a leading face that carried the ballets he starred in with immense skill and an aura admired by everyone. anyone lucky to score a pas de deux with him would be torn between a world of conflict. those soft eyes that looked down at you with love were solely meant to portray siegfried's ardour for odette and nothing else.
you sigh, eyeing the confident man giving his all in the company class, no doubt hyping himself up for tonight's last show. you couldn't fall behind, either, knowing your performance was monitored way more now that you were considered amongst the directors to be promoted to principal.
"next group, pay attention, loves!" the teacher for the morning caught your attention, letting the chattering group in front head out first before the next group of dancers took their turn.
dancing was all you could remember, taking up most of your life even when you were a kid. through competitions and gruelling schedules, you managed to land in the six eyes theatre. sure, it wasn't as popular as the zen'in company or the kamo national ballet but, it still held up a wicked reputation, partially thanks to gojo satoru.
your feet naturally hail your command, placing it behind the other in a curtsey to thank the instructor for the morning class as you stretch your feet in some simple pointe repertoire.
"nervous about your posting, (y/n)?" nobara asks, rolling the arch of her feet back and forth with a tennis ball.
you shrugged, "in a way, yeah. i'm getting observed on mainly every move that i make."
the smile your best friend gives you calms you down, at least. megumi chipped in, "hey, you'll become one of the best principals around, i know it."
"yeah! and we'll go to your shows, no matter wha... oh, right, we're first soloists," itadori trails off.
you laugh, settling down to wipe the sweat from your brow. however, there's an uncharacteristic silence when you start to remove your pointe shoes.
"what if i do become principal? i'll miss you guys like hell." you mutter, rubbing off the skin peeling from your toes. removing the tape and toepads, you sigh again even after nobara lands a hand on your arm.
"stop sighing, you idiot, the company's small. sure, you'll have extended rehearsals, and i will now have to deal with yuji's noisy ass, but i doubt we're going to be separated like oil and water."
you roll your eyes, chuckling a little through glossy eyes, "true. it's just that we've always been together, through the competitions where we met and going up the ranks. hell, i wouldn't even imagine all of us becoming first soloists when we entered six eyes."
megumi raises an eyebrow, "are you underestimating us?"
putting your fingers together, you offer a sheepish smile, "just a little."
"and now you're going to become a principal, (y/n). we all know you put yourself to crazy standards that you always reach, maybe even higher than that. you're going to kill it as a principal, i'm sure."
thankful to nobara for the little speech, you pat her arm gently, easing into a stretch to prevent any tensing up later in an afternoon class.
"(y/n), they're coming over, look sharp," itadori notifies you, turning to the barre to do his own stretching as your friends busy themselves with their phones.
you take another curtsey at your instructor, along with the director of six eyes, masamichi yaga.
why... was he here now?
"(y/n), love, we'll need to talk to you about something. would you mind coming to the office later on? just before the company's afternoon class at 2 would be good."
you were at a loss for words.
was i already raised to principal? no... they wouldn't promote someone who's only danced her first soloist role a couple of times. were they going to remove me for consideration? maybe they found a better dancer to monitor?
"it's nothing terrible, (y/n), i promise." with a smile, masamichi walks away, not before patting your shoulder for reassurance.
the next few hours go by in a flash: eating lunch, lazing around in the studio, filming some tiktoks and then getting ready for another class took up most of your time that you didn't get to ponder over the office visit.
so you were definitely surprised to see gojo satoru himself, a shit-eating grin on his face once he hears you enter. he lays back on both arms to welcome the first soloist, you.
you curtseyed again to ms ieiri and masamichi. before you got to gojo, however, he held a hand up before standing up himself to bow. you let out a small smile as the familiar step led you to curtsey on the other foot.
it left a weird feeling in your bones to greet a principal dancer, but you two weren't all that close, anyway. plus, curtseying was basic courtesy in the company, where actions spoke louder than a "good morning" or a "thank you".
"nice to see you, (y/n). miss nitta, as you know," masamichi gestured to your teacher and then to the white-haired man, whose beauty never fails to amaze you, as cliche as it sounds, "and gojo satoru."
"nice to finally talk to you, miss (y/n)," he nods his head, wearing an attractive smile that had you sucking in a breath. you could only manage a smile at the moment, brought back to reality when masamichi's firm voice resonates in the office.
"you've done a tremendous job these past few months, love. we've been watching your roles this season, hopping from one position to the other with no problem at all. i'm sure you were informed that you were being considered to be principal..." you leaned forward in anticipation, "...although you'd have to let your skill shine through more before we promote you to principal any time soon."
bummer, but it's nothing you can't handle.
"we do have something to ask of you, however. your potential is clearly set in the right place, and your talent and determination are not lost. we want you to shadow and learn the repertoire of shoko ieiri and gojo satoru while they rehearse for the next season's premiere."
nevermind, it might actually be something you can't handle.
"me?"
masamichi only lets out a knowing smile. "are you up for the challenge, (y/n)? you'll get to learn and watch how principals rehearse, act and mime out the story in the hands of ballet masters and mistresses like kiyotaka ijichi and mei mei and even tengen hoshi."
your fingers dug into your thigh at the well-known names, always seeing them in the corridors but never knew how they taught or conducted rehearsals. this was your chance.
"of course, director masamichi. i'd be honoured to observe and shadow the company's principal dancers, let alone miss shoko ieiri and mr gojo satoru here. their chemistry onstage is honestly unmatched!"
okay, shut up, (y/n). you're laying your fangirling thoughts on the actual director of six eyes theatre. a simple yes would've sufficed.
"great! you start tomorrow. skip the afternoon class and come straight to the studio on the ground floor. we'll be expecting you."
you couldn't help the grin that appears on your face this time, passing a bow to everyone in the room before curtseying and almost exclaiming a "thank you!"
once you're out of the professional eye, you have a little celebratory dance outside the office, immediately fishing out your phone to text the trio.
"a...ah! gojo senpai!" you take a step back in instinct, the tall principal looming over you with nothing but an intimidating air around him.
however, nothing screams intimidating on his face, as he shoots you a polite smile and a hand to get introductions out of the way.
all you can think about is his large hand enveloping yours while he tells you his name. you're stuck in a trance, locked on his eyes cut off by the black of his sunglasses.
how would those hands feel on my hips when he's lifting me? or maybe we'd engage in a kiss in romeo and juliet...? are we doing r&j for the next season's shows?
fuck.
"uh- yes, nice to meet you too, senpai! i-"
"call me gojo, (y/n)."
you're at a loss for words, the man knowing he's left you speechless with the way he's smirking off into the other direction. you manage to get the prodigy out of your head, willing yourself to get to the company class as soon as possible. since your distraction was gone and the air cleared of any tension, you were able to hear the voices in the office.
"are you sure about this, nitta? we can't have any more dancers off their game just because they were enamoured with satoru to the point of confessing their love to him. every time we get first soloists and principals to pair with him, something always comes up."
"i'm sure, director. (y/n)'s mettle and focus on her roles are strong, and her skills are off the charts. if anything happens, we'll just pair her with another principal, like kento or something." masamichi sounded unconvinced, grunting as their footsteps increased in volume.
company class! company class!
you slipped into the studio just in time to avoid nitta and masamichi, carrying your things as you looked for the trio.
"(y/n)!" yuji catches your attention, although a little too loudly for your liking. you were left to greet the other dancers on the way to their corner, dumping your bag with much more exasperation than you expected.
"what's wrong?" megumi asks, doing some plies at the bar to warm up his feet and muscles.
"i think i should text y'all instead. let's wait for after the show tonight."
you get three nods from the trio in reply, dropping into some simple stretches as the next instructor takes over. at least gojo wasn't here...
・.━━━━━━━━━━.・
the applause was deafening as you take your bow, thanking the audiences from the balcony and stalls as you gestured to your pas de deux partner, megumi. putting your hand in front of your heart was a big thing to do, giving thanks to one of your best friends and partners for a fun pair such as bluebird and princess florine.
as you walked back to join the other dancers, the principal roles were taking their bows with no doubt roars and cheers from the audience from yet another electrifying performance from the golden pair as princess aurora and prince florimund: gojo and ieiri.
as ieiri led the conductor on stage, he was the last to thank the audience, bringing the heart of the ballet to life with the score of tchaikovsky's sleeping beauty.
with one last bow, the curtain closes, leaving you to let loose from the rigid position you were used to.
"we're done!" you laugh, hugging megumi as nobara and itadori squeeze their way through the many dancers on stage. the two convey their compliments, prompting you to nudge the two on their puss-in-boots and white cat roles. the two then freeze up, staring at something that was approaching from behind.
"miss (y/n)-" gojo bows, interrupted by ieiri as she crashes into you with a hug.
"oh man, (y/n) you were great out there!" you grin, embracing her as tight as she did.
"thank you, senpai," you were practically beaming, thankful she still remembered you after being promoted to principal years ago. it was hard to communicate and talk when she had so much going on, a natural dancer who rose up the ranks fast with her hard work.
ieiri formed herself up into a refined dancer that you wouldn't think she was the young girl at your studio trying on pointe shoes for the first time years ago when you were a kid.
that was if you didn't know her personally, of course.
"here, first position, just like that!" the curious girl interacted with the kids outside a smaller studio, teaching them the various positions that at least a grade two or three class would use.
she picked up pointe work fast, obviously guided by the mentors at the school with nights of rehearsal and decision making whether she wanted to pursue this professionally.
"oh shush, you, you don't have to call me senpai, see you tomorrow (y/n)!"
ieiri bids you goodbye, no doubt to talk to the choreographers and director. gojo follow suit shortly after your exchange, not before taking your hand to plant a kiss on it.
you retract almost immediately after his lips descend on your skin, the area hot from the lighting, your sweat and your feelings.
nobara tsked, "what's his deal?" you let out a shaky sigh and shrug, hooking an arm around megumi's as you went around to mingle with the dancers.

[nobara is typing...]
you're to shadow gojo-senpai and shoko-senpai?! no way???!?!1/!?!?
[itadori is typing...]
no way, that's so cool!
what was he like? was he in the office that day?
[(y/n) is typing...]
yeah, he was. not gonna lie, a bit cocky... kinda overheard that partners throw themselves at him sometimes too, which makes it a bit troublesome, lol.
and yes, kugisaki i'll need to observe them starting tomorrow. i cant come for the company class :(
[megumi is typing...]
Then what about Shoko-senpai?
you shake your head even though no one could see you, the forgotten tv series playing in the background while you text your friends instead.
[(y/n) is typing...]
she's too good for him, i think. they're long time friends too, but i'm not sure if any feelings blossomed since then tho
[nobara is typing...]
you don't like him, do you? i know you dont like guys that are full of themselves, altho that man rlly is that attractive .......
[itadori is typing...]
LMAOO whos the smitten one now
nobara sends a vibe check sticker, the one with both hands outstretched with a threatening stare into the screen.
[nobara is typing...]
i'll kill you tomorrow, yuji itadori.
[itadori is typing...]
you'd have to reach my height first, loser
[nobara is typing...]
you- UFGGHKHH
i'll kick your shins, thats what!!!!!!
you roll your eyes as the two of them get into another friendly banter, leaving the group chat to blow up in messages as you switch off the neglected tv.
there's a silence that feels almost too foreign, contrasting to the fact that you enjoyed silences daily. it felt criminal, almost, to be in such a quiet space with no one to fill in the gaps.
you look to your black and white poster for some clarity, the young boy standing at 16 with a softness in his eyes and a lengthened extension that conveyed his love of ballet to you.
you never knew who was the boy, getting a poster shoved into your hands in a hurry when you and your mom bought tickets to the local ballet competition. you never questioned the poster, nor had you caught the boy in the midst of his variation either, settling for a theory that his performance had already passed the day before.
"how do you think it's going to go down tomorrow?" you mumble to no one in particular, tossing and turning in your sheets that didn't quell your worries no matter how much you thrashed.
the dreamless slumber welcomes you into its arms almost immediately, although the morning after was the opposite.
"shit, shit, shit," was your mantra, jumping from place to place in your small apartment to get the things you needed for class. you manage to catch the bus in time, heading straight to the studio with no cup of tea in your hand as usual.
"(y/n)!" nobara grins, seeing you stumble through the door just as everyone finishes their individual warmups. the instructor greets everyone, eager to get into the class as soon as possible.
the thought of the rehearsal shook you up more than you thought it would, leaving you to let out nervous breaths that got worse by the time that class ended.
ieiri didn't miss the way you'd wipe your hands on your tights in worry, going over the steps more than you usually would. you had a killer memory, but it seemed that today that that ability had melted away at the sight of gojo.
"wish me luck, guys," you muttered, hurriedly packing up your things before heading off yourself. the trio only could give you a small smile, knowing you had wanted time to yourself to calm your nerves.
you had always done this for the many shows you starred in: the music and positions mimicking a recording. it was as clear as day when it replayed in your head, the different orchestral parts and the dynamic changes you apply to your steps to give the best performance, for performing your best was all that mattered. the trio understood instantly, always sending you off on your memory replay with an encouraging smile.
well, almost, for you didn't even know what the rehearsal entailed or what piece they would be dancing to.
"hi," your voice appeared meek in the big studio, the only three people there slowly getting warmed up to each other. your feet carried you into a curtsey.
"ah, mei mei-sensei! miss shoko and mr gojo," you acknowledged their presence, placing your things down right where you stood.
"let's begin then, shall we? for this is a gala event, the pas de deux couple will only be performing the entree and the adagio parts. there might be the possibility you two would have to rehearse your individual variations and the coda. still, the organisers haven't gotten back to us on the duration we'll be on stage for. with the switching in and out of the different repertoire, this year should align with don quixote. before we start, i wish that everyone is honest with each other; that way, we can learn from different views."
don quixote?! you hold in your excitement at the revelation, thinking back to the fiery portrayals of kitri and lively spanish music to pair with it. your excitement was on cloud nine while by fifteen minutes, your feet and body were seemingly screaming at you to take a break.
to say it was tiring was an understatement, at the very least. you were to only shadow ieiri's parts, and the absence of a male partner proved challenging when you were the first soloist mirroring a principal and her partner.
"(y/n) should try too, of course! come, come," mei mei beckons you over from where you went over the steps, fingers fidgeting with the waistband of the sheer skirt you'd just bought a few days ago.
"i trust that you are familiar with the wedding PDD, (y/n)?" mei mei asks.
you nod eagerly, not missing the way ieiri beams at your enthusiasm.
"good. we'll just try this part on your own. remember to keep yourself lifted and trust your partner," mei mei eyes you while gojo was already getting comfortable with a hand on your back, "would you like to try it without the music first?"
you nod cautiously. you take note of the way it burns like fire, the contact of his skin on yours. oh god, you wished you had wiped the sweat from it, although the other didn't seem to mind it due to the many partners he's worked with before.
with a quick glance, you snuck a look at the tall dancer, never much prepared for the striking blue of his eyes. however, this time, the cheeky gojo appeared to be kept under wraps, bringing forth a more solemn and nervous exterior. he did seem different and quiet, even catching the attention of mei mei-sensei and ieiri herself. they opted not to say anything.
nevertheless, the two of you narrate the lifts and steps, mixing in the counts with the french vocabulary that stuck with you throughout the years. you were surprised at how much leeway gojo had provided you, allowing you to move freely while bringing you back effortlessly for the couple work.
a smile formed on your face at the flow of your steps as the music plays seamlessly in your mind with how much you've watched different renditions of the wedding pas de deux.
"with the music now, my dears."
ieiri shoots you a thumbs-up, noticeably more tired than you, as she massages the bottom of her feet with calculated force.
the piano starts as the pas de deux passes by smoothly with minimal mishaps, save for some off balances here and there. as always, your hand tingles when it comes in contact with the principal's, willing the quick heartbeats away by thinking of his cocky smirk the other day. with the easy beginning completed, the lifts were now appearing more often.
"hold your body up during the fish dive (y/n), hold your back and position!" gojo stumbles a bit at your mistake, but for the second time around, you manage to get it, coming up from the tricky step into a beautiful arabesque.
a hasty nod, and you're off, pulling away from gojo a tad bit quicker than how you wanted to initiate it. he's taken by surprise at your change of personality, wondering where the flustered soloist had gone to previously. with the same corrections directed at you, mei mei gives you a "good job" before bringing ieiri back in.
"we'll cap you two's pas de deux at that point before the turns. ieiri, you ready to get back into it?" she hesitantly nods, albeit more relaxed than the earlier exchange.
the music starts again, and this time, you manage to gape at the couple's artistry, weaving over and under to fit the delicate notes of minkus' score. with the many turns and tour en l'airs, it now came to the difficult part of the pas de deux: where the woman will wind their hand around the man's single finger, engaging in two turns connected only by that single contact point.
they complete it easily, leaving ieiri to then balance en pointe with one leg suspended in the air. the two repeat it again with no problem, except for the fatigue seeping through their faces at a few moments in time.
as the music reaches its climax, so does the movements with increasing pirouettes and lifts. their chests heave with exhaustion, but their smiles showed that they were satisfied with the run.
it was hard to believe that gojo and ieiri only started to rehearsed this a few weeks ago, especially since these were leading roles with a reasonably complex pas de deux to pair with. nothing seemed to faze them as they received the feedback from mei mei, nor did they have trouble correcting the lift that had gone wrong earlier or the balance that ieiri fell out of.
so this was what it meant to be a principal.
"(y/n)! any feedback that you'd like to give to the two?"
"h..huh, me? i'm not sure if it'd be helpful to-"
"nonsense, hit us, (y/n). rehearsals are always a place for feedback," ieiri grins, taking your hand to bring you closer to the three of them.
"well, i think... i'll comment on the repeated melody where you'll go from the turns into the attitude balance is where it's a bit difficult. since gojo-senpai is tall, he might've put his hand a little too high. i mean, of course, lifting up is ideal, but ieiri-senpai might have some trouble balancing because of that."
they wordlessly try it out without the music, noting how gojo places his hand at a lower height for ieiri. it might've felt foreign, but it looked a tad bit better to you, with a better centre of gravity and stability.
"yeah! like that!" a smile dons your face, "does it feel better, senpai?"
"tons," gojo simply states, almost too eagerly as blue eyes uncharacteristically boring into yours. opposed to the quick glances he always gave you along the corridor or within classes, this one was a strange, longing one. ieiri's voice snaps you out of the spell, almost not wanting to leave his stare.
"way better, thank you (y/n)," she pats your arm before turning to the sound of mei mei's voice.
"alright, beautiful legs and extensions, but we still have a lot to work on, as well as getting (y/n) accustomed to more pas de deux and principal work. would you like to stay on (y/n)?"
you admired your own determination, but sometimes it was better to take a break. having just attempted the coda, you could already feel blisters forming due to your prolonged use of pointe shoes. with a breath, you let gojo complete his pirouettes, restraining the sigh coming from your lips at the perfect revolutions and momentum he had going.
a little more, and you were close to catching a breath, finishing off a quadruple pirouette and tour en l'air with gojo's help. with a slight stumble, you let out a startled laugh before taking your last step with a knee to the floor. with palm outstretched, the piano does a trill before ending off on a chord.
out of the corner of your eye, you spot gojo smiling down at you, a beam that doesn't come often with how much confidence he carries around the company.
ieiri applauds first, followed by mei mei's impressed smile.
"you execute your fouettes well, (y/n)," you bow your head in thanks, brought up unconsciously with gojo's hand as it stays linked in yours.
"thank you, mei mei-sensei. i'm just glad to have tried it out; the don Q coda is one of my favourites," you gush, "the costumes, the music is just everything."
・.━━━━━━━━━━.・
"to dance with your partner is one thing, but the connection is another. translate the story of the elation of kitri - her father finally gives his blessing for their wedding, and she's excited to the moon. basilio is marrying the girl of his dreams. know what and who you're dancing for." mei mei speaks over the music easily, giving pointers they go over the steps like always.
"i know it's just an empty stage. there's no set, no scene to show the joy all around the cast, but you still are dancing as kitri and basilio," mei mei says after, "let's try again with (y/n)."
rehearsals carried on like this, day after day. some days longer than the other, and on others, you were paired with another first soloist. however, he wasn't tasked with shadowing the couple every day, so the pas de deux was left to you to master.
as you wipe your sweat, ieiri waves her towel in front of you, "wanna have lunch with us?"
"i don't want to intrude-"
"it's gojo's treat," ieiri whispers, "plus he doesn't treat people often."
"is he okay with me coming alo-" she pulls on you, leaving you no choice but to pack your things hurriedly.
"(y/n)'s coming, yea?" ieiri mumbles quickly, hooking her arm around yours in a hassle as you try to keep your things from falling out of your bag.
"i'd like that." gojo says to no one, finally catching up to you two after switching off the studio lights.
"whaaaat, you're leaving so fast?" you pout, eyeing ieiri's neat tray of finished food as gojo lets her pass through in the booth.
"i'm sorry you have to stay here with this dumbass (y/n), but i have a date with the orthopaedic today," ieiri groans.
"like an actual date?" gojo jokes.
"no," she rolls her eyes, "my muscles are acting up a little lately. plus, my arch hurts more often than it usually does. it's best to just check it out, i guess. but yeah, an actual date would be nice, too."
you shrug, "eh, hard to come by when you're a busy ballet dancer in a company. bye, senpai!" you and gojo wave to her as she leaves the diner, now coming to terms with the fact that you were alone with the charming dancer, as much as you hated to admit it.
with his perfect hair and long eyelashes and the enchanting smirk he always seems to wear. not to mention the sheer strength in his leaps in contrast to the delicate grip on your waist-
"thinking about me, love? of course you are."
"what? no!" you stiffen, the blush on your cheeks immediately giving away your thoughts.
"for the record, i've thought of you, too," gojo drops a bomb, leaning over the table to plant a gentle kiss upon your cheek before leaving the booth in a hurry.
you were thankful that he was gone, at least and thankful for the empty diner, leaving you to melt in a puddle of confusion and warmth.
just like the first rehearsal, your cheeks feel hot, as does your body. the place where his lips touched seemed to burn a hole through, your gaping mouth failing to close even after a minute of staring into nothing.
fishing out your phone was the first thing your mind sought out from the endless thoughts in your head.
nobara, nobara, nobara... gotta find her contact..!
[nobara is typing...]
he WHAT???!??@
・.━━━━━━━━━━.・
"ieiri-senpai, what's a pas de deux to you?" you mumble after rehearsals one day, picking at the tape stuck in between your toes.
"it would have to be what mei mei said, definitely. she still says the same exact thing till today: dance and connection are two different things. and it can't go to the point where two different stories are being told by the male and female dancer. you'll need to go into pas de deux work with a mindset that you come in a pair. every correction and every emotion needs to be felt by both parties for it to reach the audiences."
"what about you?" the question catches you by surprise, resorting to humming as you think of the answer.
"it's something along the lines of your answer and mei mei-sensei's definition. you'd have to be on the same wavelength as your partner. every extension that appears or a gentle port de bras is meant to show the character's personality. you'd also have to think of the context of the ballet, i guess," you stop yourself, looking at gojo as he finishes a tour en l'air en passe. three revolutions and you realise that a. you're staring and b. you were talking way too much.
"sorry! i'm rambling again," you splutter, going back to your original task of taking out the tape from your toes.
ieiri giggles, "no, no! ramble all you want. i love listening to my juniors talk about how much they love ballet."
"sleeping beauty, just like the show a week ago, is set in the royal court, so it's hard to show aurora's personality. she's a little playful and young, although it's hard to slip that in when the wedding pas de deux for that is so grand. and then you'll compare it to the black swan in swan lake, where it's also in a royal court, but odile's the one deceiving siegfried, so there's an opportunity to include some side-eyeing in it. i personally love zenaida's version," you trailed off, "i mean, of course, there's also-"
"then what about odette?" gojo shouts across the studio, with his hands on his hips. the white of his hair matched the pureness of odette's tutu, something you always wished to wear and dance and master when you got accepted into six eyes theatre.
"don't mind him-"
your words take precedence without effort, "with the white swan, odette has to show the struggle of her spell with the frantic miming that she has to do. 'i'm the queen of the swans, rothbart the bastard turned me into a swan' and so on and so forth. because she's a swan, she has to imitate the gentle way that swans move, along with the technical challenges of the pas de deux. she's very soft and fragile, and the violin makes it all the better in showing the shyness and fear in odette."
two pairs of eyes stare at you curiously as the male's smirk leaves you to break into a nervous laugh as you fidget with your fingers.
"sorry, i'm talking a lot. too much. do carry on with your jumps," a small apologetic smile appears on your face, failing to note gojo's hesitation to move from his spot and his interest in the way you can talk endlessly about the art.
gojo's smirk merges into a smile even when he accomplishes the many pirouettes demanded of him. he'd want to hear it from your lips next time when you're wrapped up in each other.

"don't you think he's a little bit too confident for his own good?" nobara whispers to you. with rehearsals off for a few days, you were able to see your best friends again, munching up the calories lost from the afternoon class.
"yeah... for all we know, he might be stumbling around in rehearsals and picking up girls," megumi muttered.
you rolled your eyes, "he's... not like that, guys. he is confident in class and seems a bit cocky, but that's because he really does live up to his name."
"we might not know much, either. (y/n) has been in rehearsals with the guy. he's probably more focused when there are lesser people in the room," yuji chats through his food, gaining disgusted looks from the three of you when lettuce and chicken litter the table.
"well... don't go falling for the guy, yeah? i've beaten up too many exes in the past," megumi tsked, devouring the salad bowl in front of him.
"yeah, but i didn't ask you to, plus you'd do it anyway. didn't even have to ask," you grin, leaning back in your chair triumphantly.
"if i beat up gojo-senpai, i'll probably get jailed."
you and yuji stifle a laugh at his comment, but nobara doesn't seem impressed with the joke, instead focused more on you and your reactions.
you weren't actually developing feelings... right?
the memory and kiss linger in your mind like a stubborn stain, not forgetting the intense stare nobara had given you before you said goodbye to the three. a vibration from your phone snaps you out of the daze, opening your chat group to answer your friends.
[nobara is typing...]

[(y/n) is typing...]
so good as always is that even a question luv xx
theyre both so talented as individuals as they r in a pdd... it was rlly insightful too!
gojo-senpai kept staring at me today for some reason tho. he felt different today, a little more reserved and whatnot
[megumi is typing...]
Maybe he felt intimidated by your skill lol
"i'll take my leave first, (y/n)! i've got an errand to run. mei mei's accompanying me," ieiri grins, bringing you into a sweat-filled hug. she's used to soaked leotards, even if the grimace on your end doesn't go unnoticed by the principal.
she lets out a chuckle, "you'll get used to mixed sweat and whatnot, (y/n). see ya!"
curtseying comes easy, bidding goodbye to the principal and the ballet mistress.
you were ready to go back to the conversation on your phone, although a call of your name distracted you from the conversation.
"yes...? gojo?" you mumbled, the last name feeling foreign on your lips without the honorific at the back. you put your phone away as the studio immediately diminishes in size, seemingly putting the two of you in a tight space with nowhere to go. it certainly felt like it, with the wordless prompt of his hand.
"try the pas de deux with me," gojo proposes, pulling up a piano rendition of the score on spotify. it wasn't hard to spot the mischievous sparkle in his eye, along with the attractive grin plastered on his face.
the studio appeared calmer now that ieiri and mei mei had left, yet the conflict in your mind was loud and unwelcomed. it felt like a battle between the angel and the devil, and you were sure the devil was nobara herself, screeching at you to remind you of the shit-ton amount of conceitedness he had.
"are we allowed to? don't other people need to use the studio?" you mumble, standing up with the help of gojo nevertheless.
you're playing right into his hand, yet you took it anyway.
he waves a hand, "it's fine; you do know the pas de deux, don't you? we didn't go over it together much, but i'm sure the past rehearsals served you well."
the beginning was refined, having done it earlier with mei mei's help. it was mostly the only thing the two of you went over when mei mei was around, leaving the more complicated parts to ieiri. the fish dive comes naturally this time, imagining the glowing lights and the striking wedding tutu that kitri sports in the third act.
there are howls of laughter at the many mishaps after that. knowing you hadn't rehearsed any of it with your partner, nor with the music before, it was only fair that accidents were to happen.
"no, no, if you let me go, i will kill you- ah! gojo!" you threaten, but it's lost in your mouth as he spins you way too many times, letting a loud shriek escape your mouth.
from a failed pirouette to a fish dive where he almost dropped you (he didn't), the laughter spilling from yours and his lips weren't common in a company class with everyone trying to dance their best.
"hey, hey, lay off the hair!" gojo quips, catching your off-balanced pirouette with a secure hand on the waist. you went along with the music, anyway, giving your exaggerated interpretation of kitri just as the music builds up. that earns a laugh from him, skillfully guiding you through even with the light banter in the room
"here it comes," he mutters to you, feeling the support of gojo's hands on yours as he pushes you off the complete the double attitude turn before hearing a loud ‘thwap!’.
"fuck, sorry! oh my god," you apologise, retracting your leg almost immediately after the collision.
"ah, shit," gojo exclaims, rubbing the side of his thigh as he brings you down gently. there's a frown on his face as you take a peek at the place you hit, the only thoughts running through your head being the articles or scandals you might be caught in.
(y/n) attempting to harm six eyes theatre's golden principal dancer? (y/n)'s downfall full of jealousy? (y/n) and the infamous gojo caught in a fight?
a giggle gets you out of the trenches, hands revealed like a finished magician's act.
"i was kidding; that didn't hurt one bit," gojo jokes, hands naturally reaching forward to place them on your hips, "loosen up a bit, (y/n)."
"i am loose!" your mouth falls into a straight line, "shit that sounded bad, didn't it?" bursting into laughter, your head falls onto his shoulder as your hand reaches up to grasp at his forearm before recovering from the unexpected joke.
as the pas de deux fades off into nothing, only your breaths could be heard in the large studio, blending with the cold air of the air-conditioning and the hot breaths coming from your mouths. strings play softly from the phone, but all you can hear is the echo of the familiar melody as if it was being played in an auditorium.
gojo gives you a gentle smile that you reciprocate, stuck in that annoying hypnotisation of his blue eyes and the same soft look he gives you whenever you aren't looking.
you were looking now, though, and you'd like it even better if time stood still for you to savour this moment.
"would you like to go on a date with me (y/n)?"
there it was, the million-dollar question. it wasn't like you imagined this every night before you slept or whether he'd perform a flashy proposal to ask you out.
but even then, you thought back to the smirks he directed at every other dancer, you thought back to the conversation in masamichi's office, you thought back to nobara's advice.
"surely you're not thinking of getting wooed by gojo satoru, are you? it's dangerous, (y/n), i'm sure you know that."
"fuck, i know! but then he kisses my cheek that one time and everything feels right again. he jokes with me in rehearsals and nudges me when mei mei-sensei compliments me. he treats me to lunch and looks at me with so much passion i almost want to believe it. these past weeks of rehearsals have taught me well in dance, but i'm sure it's making my love life miserable with how much he looks at me and then goes back to flirting with the other dancers."
"i'm sorry, i can't, gojo."
you make haste with the way you're scurrying out of the studio, breaking into a jog to make sure he doesn't catch after you.
you should've said yes, right? with how much he's been building up the courage these past few weeks, careful not to let ieiri spot his sneaky glances. even the kiss on your cheek left his heart pumping long after he's left the diner.
all that to leave him in the dust.
gojo lays in bed that day, eyes fully open as he struggles to get some rest, unaware of the similar turmoil you were going through. the dancer managed to sleep after innumerable amounts of overthinking, departing from consciousness with thoughts of you, just like he always has.
・.━━━━━━━━━━.・
there weren't any tears involved on your end, save for some of the glossy looks you've given your black and white poster as you played with your pillowcase in anxiety.
you dreaded the next rehearsal, knowing you had to face gojo sooner or later, especially with how you reacted to his question.
"mei mei-sensei, gojo," his name was muttered instead, embarrassed with the way you rushed out of the studio the previous day. mei mei looks between the two of you, clapping her hands together to get your attention.
"ieiri pulled a nerve around her arch, which was why we've been going to the orthopaedic more often. it's a minor injury, and she's resting right now, so we'll have to work with the two of you first. we'll stop at where we always do but feel free to continue if you feel comfortable."
great. it had to be on a day where i couldn't possibly face gojo.
he says nothing at that, both you and the pianist unsure of whether you were to continue.
gojo was still in his a game, hitting every leap and lifting you without much struggle. you, not so much, as the words you said to him replayed in your head like a broken record.
you fell off your balances, you couldn't portray kitri well, you felt the weight of your body get heavier with each repeated thought of the day before. hell, even your practice tutu felt heavy.
he sighs again for the umpteenth time as the music stops, the two of you receiving the same criticism from the previous run. mei mei tries her best to be polite, although you can tell she's losing her patience as well.
"(y/n)? what's gotten into you? i understand every dancer has their bad days, but today appears terrible with the silent treatment you two are giving each other."
you swallow at the question, taking a shaky breath before opening your mouth. you look to gojo for help, but his eyes evade yours by looking at the floor with arms crossed. his head whips toward you with your following words.
"he asked me... on a date. i rejected him, rushed out the studio," you mutter, tracing the fabric of the tutu hanging on your hips.
"you asked her out on a date?" mei mei states in disbelief, looking at the ballerino with a face full of perplexity.
"yeah, i did, and i would do it again," the last whisper is lost to you, unable to hear because of the distance between you and him.
"wh- why? what's wrong with that?" you ask mei mei-sensei, yet again being pulled in by the sky blue of his eyes before looking to the ballet mistress.
"mei mei-"
"gojo never asks anyone out. ever. i'm sure you're the first one."
you can see gojo deflate at that at the corner of your eye, shoulders sagging forward in defeat while mei mei takes the chance to leave for you to sort things out.
"what...?" was the only thing you could muster, eyes following your instructor as she exits the space.
"you two are dismissed for now. talk to him about it and resolve your problem," she waves a hand at you, the tension growing by the second as she's entirely out of the studio.
"gojo?" you ask cautiously, stepping up to him to pull him from the position he was in.
"you believe the rumours, the articles, don't you?" he says, completely unrelated to the situation at hand. the look he gives you was something you couldn't figure out, snatching his arm out of your grip as he puts some distance between the two of you.
"you think i'm some cocky bitch who's just strutting around the company, free to do my own thing?" the other says it in a quiet tone, but it didn't make it less menacing than if he were to shout it.
"do you think i enjoy the way the female dancers throw themselves at me when i'm trying to focus on my mistakes and corrections? you think i enjoy the annoying ass articles written about me?"
with each question, gojo doesn't fail to intimidate you, taking a step each time until you're cornered against the barre. those questions are left unanswered as gojo's eyes bore into yours, losing its usual spark when he glances at you during the pas de deux or when he's laughing at a joke you made over lunch.
"do you think i enjoy being talked about every. single. time?! when i'm passing in the corridors, in masamichi's office, in the company classes, among the little trio you have going on. when i asked you out, it was because i genuinely felt that i could connect to you: with no wrong assumptions or bad impressions," gojo runs a hand through his sweaty hair, the frustrated emotions he felt seeping through into his speech.
"...everything felt so fake to me while getting to know you were the only real thing i could cherish when i get to hold you during the pas de deux, or when my lips landed on your cheek. it was the only real thing that brought on your blush that i imagine your lips on mine way too much."
you chose to ignore the way your heart flutters at the confession, staring up at him with apparent conflict on your face.
"then why can't you just ignore them? i'd expect someone like you to not give a shit about what people think," you whisper.
"you got to know the wrong gojo, then. just like right now, i can't face what others have to murmur around about me."
"right now...?" you caught onto his words fast, your eyes immediately spotting the curious faces of both your friends and a few other dancers fighting for a spot to watch you two through the studio door's glass.
"c'mon, pack up, let's not talk here," gojo states. within seconds, the two of you were out the door with your hand clasped in his. you were quick on your feet to leave the premises, naturally following gojo's lead to an unknown building.
letting go of his hand, you explore the space, taking note of every tiny little thing that made the apartment his own.
"sorry for the mess. i live alone and hardly clean the apartment." the nervousness from the studio stayed, the other opting to remain at the doorway in worry. the silence in the apartment grows, your eyes now trained to the floor as gojo suddenly speaks up.
"i couldn't ignore them, (y/n). their expectations disguised as gossip and rumours allowed me to perform properly. i was afraid of disappointment, of getting ridiculed if i were to make mistakes on stage. any slip-up was seen by the company's sponsors, critics, everyone. their eyes were always on me, and i could never let myself get eaten up by the articles."
"the industry is filled with competition and talent. anyone can replace anyone at any given time; you'd have to have a mind of steel to not get affected by every little thing!"
his eyes meet the back of your head, the fatigue leaking through the lines of his eyes and face. as you turn around, you meet his exhausted ones, and, step by step, you approach the man.
"i can't say i have that mind of steel that i mentioned. i hardly come close to it, (y/n). i'm happy with the company, i'm content with my place, and i'm terribly in love with ballet, but... i'm so tired, really."
your expression of unsaid pity was all you could offer, bringing gojo into a hug as he wrapped his arms around you. the way he relaxed told you of the safe space you provided, while his tight, squeezing arms showed he hasn't embraced in a long time.
a minute or two passes, relishing in the now comfortable silence as the other collects himself.
"i'm laying everything on you, fuck, i'm sorry."
you shake your head into his chest, "don't apologise, you idiot. i should be the one saying sorry for rushing off like that," pulling away, you were heartbroken to see the shine of his tears waiting to cascade down his cheeks.
"i'm sorry i ran off. i was afraid, for a different reason. my rational side always protects my heart, knowing i've had bad experiences with friends and connections. if i couldn't sustain a friendship, who was i to jump into a relationship?" you hand trails to his nape to mindlessly play with the hair there as a form of habit with your own hair.
"it was brave of you, putting yourself out so vulnerably when i only looked at the surface of what you were. i'm sure it felt like those weeks of getting to know each other meant something to you, and i threw it away in fear that you'd leave me after a few months."
"so please don't apologise, i'm sorry i ever made you feel like shit because i didn't know about the weight on your shoulders."
a smile graces your face, the hand on his nape going back to his cheek.
"and stop crying; it doesn't make your eyes look good," you whisper, wiping the tears before they fall as gojo lets out a chuckle.
"you think my eyes look good?"
you roll your eyes, "god, who wouldn't? it's like looking at the sky and the ocean all at the same time. and when you stare at me? i always have trouble looking away from you because of how striking they are."
"are they now?" distracted from the emotional vomit earlier, he grins at your description of him. you're lucky to have your hands on his cheeks just so you can feel the effect you have on him every time you offer a compliment.
"are you done complimenting me?"
"i've only commented on your eyes, though. would you like me to continue?"
"i think you should kiss me first."
you're taken aback by gojo's boldness, a surprised expression appearing at the question. the way he looks at you beats the gazes through the mirror as he warms up and the look of interest over his bowl of miso soup. it beats the glances at you during the company classes and the short, fleeting glimpses as you move together during the pas de deux. it beats every single one that your head descends back into his chest, shy at the look of adoration he was giving you.
"can i really?" you whisper in his shirt, refusing to look up even when he pulls away from your embarrassment.
as his arms unwind themselves from your middle, he crouches down to reach your eye and bring you back from a world of uneasy firsts.
"is it your first?"
this was when gojo satoru was at his rawest, with his hands cupped around your cheeks in the slowly darkening apartment as he prepares himself to kiss you.
"it is."
gojo says nothing after that, the moment of silence feeling like forever before his lips meet yours. the sunset coming in from his windows hits at the right time, because then you'd be able to point at it and describe the colours you feel when his mouth moves against yours. you'd be able to sense your heart pumping and blood flowing more clearly than when you've just finished a demanding combination of steps when he encircles his arms around you to bring you closer.
without choreographed steps, nothing feels more fitting than a kiss full of passion that isn't in a pas de deux. ironically, it was the ones you enjoyed more, more than the kisses in romeo & juliet or in manon.
oxygen becomes scarce, then, prompting you to break away from gojo just as your heart fills up with joy, way more than you can fathom.
you crash your lips into his again, now catching him off-guard. he melts into it with no problem, a laugh spilling from his lips at your eagerness.
"i like you a lot, tons, (y/n). i don't say this often, but i like you."
"it's too early to say it's love, right? because i think i like you too, a lot, tons."
・.━━━━━━━━━━.・
you agreed to keep it under wraps for now, with you planning to leave half n' hour later to avoid suspicion. the dancer sacrificed his Z's so you could catch them instead, although you continued to lay awake in his bed watching the white-haired man get ready.
"are you sure the floor wasn't uncomfortable? you could've just used your own bed, y'know."
he only shakes his head, "'s okay. my back was acting up, anyway. it was basically free therapy."
you laugh at that, now sitting up fully to admire gojo's physique. with how affectionate and sweet he is behind closed doors, you swore that he was a different man. he shoots you a finger gun and a wink, knowing the way he's got you wrapped around his finger.
"see you later," gojo whispers, landing a peck on you before taking off on his own. it wasn't long before you had to get up, taking in the room and its decorative spaces. he has ballet posters and photos of his friends; he even had a diffuser.
a yawn takes over you as your hands land on the shirt on you.
fuck, you didn't have anything clean to wear. gojo had provided you with a shirt and pants from his wardrobe yesterday, rejecting his briefs with a laugh. with no bra, you decided to just use a spare leotard you keep in your bag, settling for the clothes gojo had lent you the day before.
the theatre felt different when you entered, heading straight for the studio to avoid any more prying eyes from the younger dancers.
"hey," you say, rubbing at your eyes to the trio warming up their feet.
nobara gasps, grasping at your hand immediately to pull you down onto the floor.
"are you good?" she mumbles, staring at your face for any signs of hurt or crying.
"do i need to beat him up?" megumi challenges, flexing his bicep as a joke, "i've been working out more."
"i'll go tell him off for you, (y/n)!" yuji grins, preparing to quite literally stand up to head over to the other corner of the room.
"no! i mean, yes, i'm good. please don't beat him up, and... sit down, yuji." you sigh.
"nothing... happened, guys. i know what it looked like in the studio yesterday but there wasn't any catfights or physical fights," you pause, looking at megumi, your hands instinctively going to the pouch where you kept your shoes, "we figured out our problem and solved it, that's all."
"so why are you wearing his shirt, then?" nobara shoots without hesitation, causing you to halt your movements for a bit. beside you, you can hear yuji choking on his water.
"i... we.. uhm," you trail off, trying to find the right words to fill in the gaps of your explanation. your eyes flit around the room before landing on gojo's, finding that his were already fixed on you.
"uh... yeah... we cleared up our differences and talked a bit," you mutter, lips breaking into a smile before you break eye contact with him. the trio stay dumbfounded at your word vomit, witnessing the exchange with the principal dancer with puzzlement.
"oh my god, did you guys fuck?" nobara whispers.
"what? no!" you laugh, whacking her shoulder as you stood up to loosen up your feet, preparing for the class conducted by masamichi himself today.
"i'll explain everything when i get back home, okay?" you say to the three of them, stuck in a side hug with nobara as her arm stay loosely wrapped around your waist.
they can only offer you their  nods, bidding you goodbye with a slight wave.
as you enter the same rehearsal studio, there's only a single lone dancer in it, stretching over in a middle split as he scrolls on his phone mindlessly.
"hey," you call out to gojo, setting your bag of things down while you run up to him. he stands up instantly, pulling you into an embrace that shocks you with the sheer force of it.
"did you already miss me? that's fast."
he mumbles into your hair, "mhmm... shut up, please."
you laugh at that, recovering from the hug despite the other's protests.
"c'mon, i need to warm up, plus we're supposed to keep this a secret, right?"
gojo whines but lets you go anyway, but not before he plants a kiss on your hand as he lets you do your own thing. the next set of footsteps catch you in surprise, eyes widening at her presence when you run up to her in excitement.
"ieiri-senpai! are you feeling better?" you ask, peeking around at her feet, where she limped on earlier.
"yes, i am, (y/n)," she pats your head and realises your choice of clothing. you noticed her smirk, but before you could counter her question, she beats you to it, "and... i've seen that the dumbass finally made a move."
there's no denying the blush that makes its way onto your cheeks, seemingly oblivious to the stares from everyone when in reality, they were curious to know of what happened the day before.
"yeah, i guess he did," you sigh dreamily, giving off your feelings as ieiri could only smile at your situation.
mei mei enters the room with authority, making you perk up at her words as she walks to the centre of the barre with purpose.
"i trust that you've solved everything, yes? because you two have been quite the talk around the studio," mei mei states, braiding her hair into a side braid as ieiri takes a seat.
"i took her hand to get away from the crowd, sensei. if anything, i should be blamed for engaging in contact that might've given off the assumption that we were dating," gojo steps up.
"but you are dating, aren't you?" mei mei grins, putting on her shoes.
"i..." you tried to speak, but gojo interrupts you before then.
"only if she'll have me, then yes, we are."
you fight back a smile, stepping forward to catch his hand in yours. he's shaking, not at all the confident gojo satoru that you've become so accustomed to.
"yes," your single affirmation holds so much weight, looking up at him with as much joy as he did with you in the morning.
"okay, good! i've gone through enough of gojo staring at you from across the room. let's continue," mei mei casually says, "i'm sure (y/n) has heard the news, yes?"
she's quick to pull you out of your thoughts of gojo looking at you during rehearsals with the question of the news that left you texting the trio at 1am.
[nitta-sensei is typing...]
(y/n)? do you have a minute to spare?
[(y/n) is typing...]
yes sensei?
what seems to be the...
you're cut off by the abrupt phone call as gojo brushes his teeth, speaking to you, though incoherently, through the foam and lather in his mouth.
"yes, nitta-sensei? what is it?"
"i'm sorry for conveying this news over the phone, and i was too excited to wait until the next day. you might or might not like it, but... you're to replace ieiri in the gala event for now." by now, gojo had stopped brushing due to your lack in reply.
he peeks his head out of the bathroom as nitta continues, "she has to heed her orthopaedic's advice and take a break for now, but since you've been shadowing the two for a good amount of time, masamichi thinks its best you take up the role of the female part."
your jaw stays dropped even after nitta says her goodbyes, the phone lit up due to your shock.
"(y/n)? what happened?"
"i'm going to be dancing with you, gojo," you say quietly, "i'm dancing the pas de deux with you!"
you bow your head in acknowledgement, "yes, i have."
ieiri sees the hesitation since now the original dancer was seated in front of you. she shoots you a double thumbs-up as motivation while mei mei briefs you on the gala like she did with the couple at the start.
it's short, and within the next moment, you're already flying through the sky with gojo's help. the steps start to become more apparent and distinct to you, letting the pianist lead the way as the lifts and pair work merge together like a seamless thread.
mei mei is firm in her teaching, knowing your weaknesses and strengths by heart with the past rehearsals that she's done. stopping the two of you before letting ieiri take over was routine, but for now, ieiri contributes with her wisdom from the chair instead.
the rehearsal progresses slowly, opting instead to complete it bit by bit as the weeks turn into days and the days turn into hours. you had to take extra care of your feet, icing them and making sure your blisters don't distract you as rehearsals extend longer to ensure your best performance.
when you had your own commitments, your best friends had theirs, fulfilling principal or first soloist roles just for the gala. there was hardly any time for you to see the trio, but you made up with late facetime calls and online dinners with them.
even with the distance in the company class, gojo never fails to make it up to you with kisses under the moonlight as you watch video after video on don quixote, although taking a specific liking to the pairing of nuñez and muntagirov.
・.━━━━━━━━━━.・
"you ready?" gojo lets out a nervous breath, already hearing the chatter of the gala attendees behind the curtains. beside you, other dancers are warming up for their own parts. some were doing a solo while others were doing a pas de deux like you were, but nonetheless, everyone gathered here was to share the love for ballet.
"hell no, i'm shaking," you laugh, playing with the elastic that was to go over your middle finger. a beautiful, white tutu was tailored just for you with minor tweaks from ieiri's tutu while they were in the midst of completing it. to honour and perform the role of kitri gave you immense joy and excitement, even though you were jittery at the responsibility passed on to you.
"how are you doing?" nobara asks, making you jump at the sudden voice. she lets out a giggle, "sorry."
"i'm... very nervous. is that even a question?" you ask her, holding onto her exposed shoulder a little too tightly. she dons a breathtaking, flowy costume with puffy sleeves and intricate detail. at the same time, yuji was suited up as nobara's partner in a pair of yellow tights, completing the couple look in the comedy-filled la fille mal gardée.
"oi, hot pants, come here! my partner's here finally after taming his hair," nobara jokes, pulling yuji over. they lean into each other's sides naturally, posing with peace signs and big smiles that they were asked to convey to the audience.
"good luck out there," megumi catches your attention, awkward as can be, as he pulls you in for a hug. his pas de deux partner is smiling at you beside him, taking your hand in hers.
"your rehearsals with gojo-senpai are incredible, (y/n)-senpai! all the best for your performance later," she bows, clearly relieved at saying the things she wanted to say.
"all the best for your le corsaire, too," you grin, waving them off excitedly before joining your basilio at the hip.
"you'll do great out there, trust me," gojo places a peck on your temple, holding you close by the waist as you warm up together. there's shared laughter between the two of you, exchanging jokes to calm your nerves and keep your mind moving. with the rush hour backstage, it was imminent that the show was starting soon, the many dancers continuing their warmup without trouble.
only you seemed to be on edge, performing as the first couple of the night for a role you've always loved and adored while watching from the balcony of auditoriums.
"i will. we will." you nod, hands twined with the other's as the curtains make their way up.
"breathe. we'll nail this like we always do," gojo kisses your linked hands, staring down at you with those same eyes you fell in love with. a smile replaced what you couldn't say out loud, bumping your head into his chest as an affectionate gesture, "let's go."
among the cheers and blinding lights, you could only focus on gojo's hand on the small of your back as he led you out. with practised steps, nothing could faze you except, maybe, his dazzling smile and the gentle eyes he has on you for the whole pas de deux.
living the life of an innkeeper's daughter was what you had to portray. while your 'father' was hesitant at first, he's finally given you the blessing to marry your lover, basilio. the glimmering tutu and effortless partnership was only half the job done, and for the radiant smile you had on at the moment, you hoped at least ieiri and mei mei would be proud of the story you were telling together with gojo.
the feeling from rehearsals is amplified on stage, with the orchestra's power and the costumes, providing you with a feeling like no other. and as gojo approaches with a flawless tour en l'air, you realise that with how much work you put in behind the scenes, the result always pays off.
as gojo has his hands on your waist, twirling you around like nothing in a quadruple pirouette, you realise that every step was made possible with the help of ieiri and mei mei and your best friends and lastly, gojo satoru.
the golden, treasured prodigy which you somehow managed to develop feelings for. the talented principal who whines when you won't refuse to give him affection and the once-cocky individual who softens just at the sight of you.
and as the music reaches the end, you want nothing more than to stay in this pas de deux with gojo satoru, in a dance of two.
you end off on an incredible note, chest heaving from the demanding technicalities of the pas de deux. nevertheless, your brain shuts out the thunderous applause, with some imparting you with their standing ovations and others who decided to scream 'bravo!' at the stage.
gojo offers a grin, bringing you close with a hand as you thank the audience with endless curtseys. bowing to your partner was next, thanking him for the interminable rehearsals and that hectic day of emotion from the studio right up to his home.
you almost practically run backstage with the adrenaline flowing through your body, the next act already on stage for the gala.
"oh my god, oh my god!" you whisper-shout in pure glee, hugging gojo close the moment you were out of view of the audience.
"you did it."
"we did it," you reassure, pulling from the embrace to smile up at him. you could feel the dancers' eyes around you, not knowing whether they should look to you or to look away.
his voice snaps you out of your thoughts, "'s okay, let them look. i don't mind it when i'm with you."
"just to confirm, we... shouldn't kiss, right?" you mumble, but you inch closer to his lips anyway.
"no... i don't think we should," gojo grins, indulging you in the very kiss you've waited for, knowing that right now, it wasn't the stage lights, nor was it the general heat after completing a difficult pas de deux.
it's as if the world gave you rose-tinted glasses, because that was all you could recognise now as gojo pulls you from backstage with your hand tightly locked onto his. he wasn't the six eyes theatre's prized principal, he was just gojo as you run past the many costumes being hung with the click-clacking of your pointe shoes.
you could compare it, almost, to running across a field with a billowing dress behind you, but alas, you were satisfied with being his kitri. for when she and basilio have a life of marriage ahead of them, you and gojo satoru have nothing but longing glances and shared laughter over your stumbling slip-ups in the studio as you tackle one act after the next.
the pas de deux was a connection and a story, and the both of you were just starting out yours.

Confession - Megumi Fushiguro
Tumblr media
I’m dealing with a doubt spell so writing is kinda hard, but I’ll get past it sooner or later :’) Word Count: 1,670
Warning[s]: None aside from possible errors I didn’t bother to look for.
Tumblr media
Mutual pining felt like a blessing and a curse. On one hand, feelings were shared without the worry of denial.
On the other hand..
Neither party could take the initiative to admit these said feelings.
Everyone and their mother could tell that [Name] and Megumi had some serious feelings for one another. You were the only one outside of Nobara and Itadori that he'd hang out with. Hell, he knew you longer than he knew them and tried his best to avoid having you meet them.
Cause as soon as it happened, the bombardment of questions rang through the air. Itadori and Nobara lingered dangerously close, inspecting you and Megumi.
"Since when does Fushiguro have a girlfriend?" Nobara questioned, squinting at you. Her gaze made you shift and her words had your cheeks burning.
"We're not–"
"Lemme guess," Itadori cut you off and Megumi sighs, "This little lady is the only one who can make the great Fushiguro crumble! Am I right??" He asked, knuckle bumping Nobara once they seen the obvious blush spread across your face and Megumi's.
Now you see why he tried to avoid this meeting, even after you questioned why. They were like pesky little rats, itching for information that wasn't their business. But you couldn't blame them, at least they cared.
"We're not dating. She's just a friend." Megumi mumbled, clearly irritated, if not embarrassed. Deep down he wanted to admit that you meant something more to him. God he loved you, but actually coming forth with that confession felt more difficult than any task he's been assigned to.
You on the other hand, also wanted to profess your long harbored feelings. Ever since you met Megumi in middle school, you always found him pretty. Especially when he beat up the bullies, goodness it made your heart flutter.
"What he said. We've been friends since middle school." You chirped, offering a smile to the two observers. Nobara crossed her arms. She's watched plenty of romantic dramas, comedies and all the works to know that you and Megumi were hard-core pining.
"I don't know," She starts, walking around the two of you, "There's something more. Something neither one of you can admit. Don't you agree dumbo?" She looked back at Itadori who blinked at the sudden nickname.
"Yes?" He tilted his head and when she shot him a look that meant death, he nodded quickly. "Yes! Absolutely! I think you two need to have a serious chat."
Megumi pinched the bridge of his nose. He could only handle so much of these two even though he knew they were right. You also knew what they said was right. But how? How can one admit feelings? Especially if it ruins the friendship? You'd be devastated.
But for now, you both needed an exit. You pull out your phone and glance at it. Maybe you had an idea.
"I left something back in my locker that I need for tonight. Wanna join me?" You elbow Megumi, who looks at you as if you were a saint. He nods, grabs your arm and drags you away while ignoring the two behind you.
"Sorry about those two, they're...something." Megumi decided to be polite instead of rude, after all they did care about him. You hook your arm through his and smile.
"It's fine, you three have interesting chemistry. I think they're good for you since I can't be around all the time." You didn't like that Megumi had to attend a school for his powers, but you were also happy for him. The selfish side of you wanted to keep him to yourself, just like it had been for years.
"You think so?"
"Yep, you just gotta open up a little when you're ready. Let them see what makes you so amazing." You gush and Megumi looks away, the praise causing his cheeks to tint with a shade of pink.
The two of you walk in peaceful silence, arm in arm until you both reach the school gates. Luckily they didn't lock up for another hour, but you didn't really need anything. Megumi wasn't stupid, he knew it was nothing more than an excuse, yet you made the trip here anyways.
"So.." You break the silence and separate from Megumi, who watched you move in front of him, your school bag hitting the ground with a thud. "Can we uh..talk about something?"
Megumi felt his stomach lurch and the contents of his lunch threatened to come up. Usually when someone wanted to talk, it could be good or bad. Considering his luck, Megumi only assumed it had to be bad. Yet he remained composed and simply nodded, choosing not to talk in case he faltered.
"I really don't know how to uh..bring this up." You fiddled with your hands, avoiding Megumi's worried gaze and kicked a random rock into the street. The looming silence that followed felt heavy and nearly made him lose his mind.
"Bring what up?" He urged quietly, crossing his arms just to keep himself busy for less than a second. His mind reeled and he didn't even consider the possibility of a confession, well at least from you. He's been trying to think of ways to bring it up without looking like an idiot, but he draws blanks after his head says he won't ever get out of the dreaded friend zone.
"Um..we've been friends for so long. I know everything about you and you about me. I just..after some time I think I might–"
You're cut off by Megumi grabbing your face, his hands were cool to your warm cheeks and his eyebrows were furrowed as he took a deep breath.
"I love you [Name]." He was straight to the point which threw you for a loop. Your mouth dropped and then closed quickly. The little shit took the words right from you. Granted you were prolonging the confession but you were getting there!
When you don't answer immediately, Megumi mumbles a quick apology and backs away, his hand rubbing the back of his neck.
"No, no don't confess and back away!" You pull him back toward you, hugging him once you two collide. His arms wrap instinctively around your figure, even though he was slightly hesitant. He felt like he was treading on glass while you were stupidly over the moon.
"You took the words right out of my mouth." You say shyly, resting your head against his chest. His heart quickly thumped in your ear, much like how yours did the same.
Megumi's world shifted or so he thought. All his fears towards his feelings vanished and it was like a weight lifted off his shoulders. You shared the same feelings and of course he should have seen it. Others called you both out, especially the two idiots who hounded earlier. Was he really that blind? Or stupidly oblivious?
Either way, he didn't know what to do now.
"So we felt the same all this time." Megumi says more to himself and you look up at him. When your eyes meet, he takes a moment to admire your pretty orbs. This was his first time being able to actually look at you without having to sneak glances or be called weird for staring. His cheeks warmed once again and you smiled.
"I guess so. Leave it to us to rely on your pesky friends to actually break the silence." You giggle, adjusting so that your arms wrap around Megumi's neck. He bends to match your height, coming face to face.
The air would usually turn awkward but this time, you both silently stare until you look away with a tiny smile tugging at your lips.
"What?" Megumi questioned. He didn't know the first thing about romance. Or even women for that matter. But he knew you, like a book. Except at this moment, he felt clueless. His mind ran in circles, leaving him a happy mess inside his head.
"Oh nothing." You bite the inside of your cheek. His gaze made you squirm and heat shift from your cheeks to your ears as well. Why did it feel so different?? Yet so welcome? "You're just really pretty okay? And I finally get to say it without being looked at funny." You pout, glancing at Megumi who blinks.
"I– So are you." He responds calmly despite every nerve in his body screaming. You turn your head back toward him and act before you can think by pressing your lips to his for a quick kiss.
Megumi freezes, eyes wide and alert when your soft lips meet his. Though he quickly closes his eyes and keeps you close by cupping your cheek. He didn't think, his body acted on its own and boy did it feel nice. He didn't think he'd ever experience something like this. Something so normal and innocent in his dangerous life.
When you both pull back, neither one of you can look at one another. Instead you pick up your school bag and drape it over your shoulder. Megumi rubs the back of his neck, fully prepared to face some type of scolding. But it never comes when you take his hand.
"Whenever you're not busy being a badass sorcerer, maybe we can go out or something?" You ask, lacing your fingers through his. Megumi looks down at your intertwined hands before glancing at you.
"Yeah." He didn't hesitate to answer and started to pull you toward the direction that led home. You hum delightfully and let him lead you without another word.
Did you imagine your confession would happen the way it did? You couldn't say, but you could admit to the hopeless daydreams of romantic scenarios playing out in the most cliché manner. You were swept off your feet by the marvelous, perfect man, yet none of those silly dreams stood a chance at how perfect everything played out with Megumi.
Even if it took two so called idiots to set it in motion.

REVIEW | My thoughts on Welcome to the Ballroom
MENTIONS: Ballroom spoilers, Haikyuu spoilers, Attack on Titan spoilers, Skip Beat spoilers, Gender roles and gender stereotypes
After I finished Eizouken and was looking for something a little more energetic, I visited the Welcome to the Ballroom's page on Mal, and two things surprised me. 1) I didn't realise that it was shounen, the main picture had me thinking it was shoujo because of the art. 2) That it had quite a small fanbase but amongst those who have watched it, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. These two things piqued my curiosity so I decided to give this series a go. And I'm very glad that I did. PLOT AND CHARACTER I have actually been thinking about how I was gonna write this blog because there are so many aspects of this anime that I wanted to talk about. Also because character growth is so inherently tied to the development of the plot, these two components cannot be evaluated separately. I am firstly going to talk about everything that the anime does well and then move onto some things that I think the anime could improve on. A STUDY OF GENDER Ballroom is such an interesting series because it looks at how gender roles can be perceived, can operate and can be subverted within sports. This anime centres around a sport, competitive ballroom dancing, which visually enacts socially prescribed traditional gender roles where the male is the leader and the female is the follower. And I'm sure even without me further explaining what the leader and follower entails, certain auras, gestures or personality traits pop into mind due to preconceived societal-engrained notions of what leaders and followers look like. E.g. Leaders are strong, decisive while followers are flowy and expressive. 1) My first point of interest came from being introduced to our main character Tatara, who displays the exact opposite of what we consider traditionally masculine, or leader-like traits. He just started dancing, is fairly emotional (he cries several times in one episode sometimes), he is a huge empath therefore he is fantastic and responding to what others feel and need. Now this is brilliant character writing, where this core part of Tatara, becomes his greatest advantage but also his biggest challenge that he has to overcome. Because he's so used to, and being good at observing and responding, he loses a sense of drive and identity, qualities often expected from the role of a ballroom dancing leader. 2) My second point of interest is being introduced to our second main character Chinatsu, who become Tatara's official partner, from Episode 12 onwards of the series! (Can I just say, what a daring thing to do, to introduce a main character halfway through the series, it was done so brilliantly and purposely, the timing was immaculate for both herself and Tatara's growth), who also displays the exact opposite of what we consider traditionally feminine. She is stubborn, does what she wants, used to be a dancer but from the role of a leader but ultimately quit dancing because she couldn't get paired up due to her lack of feminine qualities that are often expected in the role of a ballroom dancing follower. 3) My Third point of interest how AMAZING this anime becomes when we place these characters with subversions of traditional gendered traits within the traditionally prescribed gender roles of ballroom dancing. This pairing of Tatara and Chinatsu was either going to be the worst or best for them because of how much they clash. And ultimately, this anime is about finding a balance between leading and responding as you would within a romantic relationship. The two clashed and clashed but they communicated, both verbally and through body language until they understood each other. And man, that's what makes the chemistry between those two go off the charts!
Tumblr media
A quick recap of just how interesting and complex the theme of gender becomes between those two: A) Characters with subverted gender traits placed within traditional gender roles Chinatsu and Tatara has very different rhythm flowing through their body. Chinatsu is terrible at following because she used to be a leader and doing whatever she wants to shoulder the responsibility and overall performance in her previous dancing experience. C) Tomboy female tries adapt to her gendered role Chinatsu tries to change by trying to read Tatara to try and align herself with qualities expected of a follower but then realises she can't read Tatara at all D) Softboy male realises that his lack of 'certain' masculine traits as a leader means tomboy female must fuel all the psychological drive and momentum in the relationship Tatara realises that he hasn't been leading, he's been an empath this whole time responding to what his partner wants which makes himself incredibly hard to read. He thought he was making it easier for his partner by letting them do what they want but actually he was making it harder, because the lack of decisiveness and confidence in his actions makes it harder for Chinatsu to trust his cues and therefore open the floor of her to dance, making it harder for her to unleash her fullest potential. E) KIYO TAKES A HUGE GAMBLE TO LOOSEN TATARA'S MUSCLES F) Softboy male (oops) unexpectedly sends out 'masculine' bodily cues to tomboy female that challenges her dancing abilities Tatara can't control his muscles. Chinatsu is now given hard cues and drive that push her to reach her fullest physical potential as a dancer. G) Softboy male and Tomboy female BOTH find balance between leading and responding. Softboy male realises that decisiveness means to give your partner trust and confidence on the dancefloor, thus breaking away from his traditionally preconceived 'gendered' notion of decisiveness that is founded upon manipulating the movements of the female. Tatara is a great empath and responder, internalises Chinatsu's body as his own and is able to match up to her physical demands now that she's unlocked her fullest potential. Tatara redefines preconceived notions of what he thought of what a leader should look like and comes up with his own definition of the ballroom partnership. The older Kugimiya couple was a FANTASTIC FOIL to this. Kugimiya dances in the old-fashioned way that strongly adheres to traditional gender roles where he does manipulate the movements of his partner. H) Tomboy female realises redefines her preconceived gendered notion of follower where she previously believed it was weak and unfair to be following someone. Now together with her partner, she realises there is strength in placing trust in her partner. Chinatsu realises that she can now place her trust in Tatara because there is more confidence in his actions. The two create a revolutionary, modern approach to ballroom dancing that is founded upon equal communication, confidence and trust. This is just brilliant character writing. They are truly, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, Chinatsu and Tatara make each other grow in tremendous ways and I can't believe that all that happened in 12 episodes. THE BRILLIANCE IN REDEFINING THE MAIN CHARACTER'S CORE IDENTITY I think there is not doubt that when talking about a fantastic sports anime, I inevitably will bring up Haikyuu. One of the many reasons as to why Haikyuu is so brilliantly written plot and character-wise is because Haikyuu keeps true to each character's core identity AND allows the characters themselves to rediscover or redefine that core part of themselves. Let's take Kageyama, he is probably the clearest example:
an amazing volleyball player in middle school but deemed negatively as the 'king of the court' (CORE IDENTITY) because he was not a team player and looked down on his teammates for not being able to spike his sets.
learns from oikawa that he needs to be a team player. Practises hard to do the new drop spike that gives Hinata more options in the air. Practises hard to give better sets to bring out the strengths of his teammates.
Atsumu provokes Kageyama saying that he's playing it too safe by giving into his teammates flaws. Kageyama starts getting mad at his teammates again. He fears that he's reversing back to the old him.
Hinata encourages Kageyama to own being the 'king of the court' (REDEFINED CORE) again. BUT this time Kageyama is different, he is giving harder sets because he BELIEVES in his teammates, he is setting in a way that will challenge their physical abilities to play better. Previously he belittled his teammates, now he empowers them. YOU SEE, CLEAR DIFFERENCE HERE.
Tumblr media
Ballroom in my opinion also does this brilliantly, and it is quite amazing that they manage to do it within a mere 24 episodes. I've gone into so much detail from ep12-24 so I'm gonna keep those brief.
finds ballroom dancing as his passion and immediately shows willingness to work hard, amazing skills in observation, empathy, emotional. Also secretly an attention seeker. Also always hoping to dance with Shizuku who he has a crush on. (CORE IDENTITY)
Because he has amazing observation skills, tends to randomly insert professional moves when he lacks the foundation to pull off those moves with the same great silhouette and physique.
Realises that he's been thinking too much about winning with his own amateur ability which is impossible and that ballroom dancing is a team sport. Decides to become the best frame possible and read Maki's mind and allow Maki to shine on the dance floor instead of himself during the Tenpai Cup arc. Also realises that he has been shadowing with Shizuku's figure in mind, decides to really look at who is in front of him, which is Mako.
Realises that he is now hiding behind his brilliance in reading his partner's mind, now making his bodily cues harder to read for Chinatsu. Realises he needs to be confident in his movements so that Chinatsu can trust him allow him as an empath to embody Chinatsu's rhythm based on trust and confidence (illustrated by the four legged creature). Realises this new way of ballroom dancing is what works for him, enjoys the spotlight once again. (REDEFINED CORE).
Tumblr media
The core essence of the character becomes that much more brilliant because for the audience, you can see just how far they've come in their emotional and psychological growth. I also really liked the treatment of side characters within the show and how they involve along with the main characters. I really liked the backstory of Akira and Chinatsu, and made me feel really sorry for Akira that this whole time, she romantically liked Chinatsu and wanted her attention. Gaju and Mako, the siblings, had also interesting backstories and through the experience of the Tenpei cup, Mako understood what her older brother meant in terms of her lacking confidence, Gaju understood that he probably didn't allow her the space to 'bloom' (I don't know why this term makes me feel so icky). It was really nice to see that everyone had some sort of transformation. Ok now onto things that could have been improved upon: -the pacing at some points felt off. Tatara's initial magnetism towards ballroom dancing felt rushed. The whole grand prix cup episode was just second hand embarrassment for Tatara, personally I didn't feel like it did much for the plot other than to make an excuse as to why they can join the A Rank match and the 4 legs illusion, I don't know if the studio included that to stay true to the manga....Some moments I felt like that were more pivotal than others could have been spent a little more time on as well. I don't know if the studio was trying to fit a certain amount of manga chapters into a set 24 episodes that could have resulted in the pacing feeling off in some places. It definitely got better as the series went on from maybe towards episode 17 onwards. - Over the years, I've learnt to accept some fanservice here and there in shounen anime because I understand that as part of their authentic characterisation, teenage boys are gonna be thinking about boobs and stuff. But I feel like sometimes in Ballroom, the fan-service moments were a bit excessive, especially when some supposedly humorous moments are bordering on sexual harassment. Literally from Episode 17 onwards when it was mostly just focused on the plot and characters as the competition got more intense, I started to enjoy the show a lot more. - Kugimiya I know was a character to personify the traditional values within ballroom dancing but I frankly just didn't care enough about this character. There wasn't much about him when he was first introduced that made me especially like or hate him so when there was that backstory feature on him in the last few episodes, I frankly couldn't care less. - I wished there were more scenes towards the beginning of the anime that explained all the different dance moves like oversway, whisk etc. There were some explanations but I wished there explaining at the beginning so that more show-not-tell could be done later on in the show. Sometimes when an inner monologue is pointing these technical dance terms, it disrupts my focus on the actual dancing on screen. -This isn't exactly criticism but more of a question but there wasn't a lot of backstory or reason as to why after watching one video, Tatara then had the drive to pull and all-nighter to practise the box. I mean, sure there doesn't need to be a reason for someone to suddenly like something, I know plenty of stories where someone watched a youtube video and decided to change careers or I guess it could be argued he watched it because he wanted to become more traditionally 'masculine' like Sengoku only later to really love dancing and discover his own idea of what being a leader or being masculine means. I guess personally I'm just really drawn to stories such as Skip beat! where there is a clearer intent as to why someone like Kyoko is driven into acting for the purpose of revenge and that's where her strong drive is coming from. Also another guess is that there was a small small hint that in the last episode, Tatara's mum left him and his family when he was very young so the strong drive may have come from a sense of abandonment from his mother, therefore he feels
validated by attention when he's dancing. I wish they did perhaps delve a bit more into that rather than just give a split second picture of his mother walking out the door. But I'm just speculating though.... SOUND I liked the second OP and ED marginally better than the first OP and ED but both sets I believe fitted the themes and auras of their respective anime arcs well. I didn't think music was a particular stand out in this anime but I think it did serve its purpose, there was perhaps one ost where Tatara and Mako first danced on the playground that was a truly beautiful track. Voice acting is pretty good. The moment I heard Kiyo's voice, I knew it was Okamoto Nobuhiko haha. ANIMATION Animation was really interesting in this anime. There was a lot of criticism, from what I saw on youtube, that the body proportions of the characters, especially their long necks, looked off, and at first I also thought so but then I got used to it. I then watched some youtube videos of actual ballroom dancing competitions and the animation proportions are actually fairly accurate. Dancer bodies are very defined with very specific silhouettes, so I actually commend the studio on getting that part right. It's kind of fascinating, in certain scenes mid-dancing, the animations uses classic shounen action anime style drawings to illustrate concepts, such as in the moment of when Tatara experiences 'four-leg' illusion or when a character feels their leg cramping. In some parts, I felt like "hey am I watching Attack on Titan?" I don't really know how I feel about it because the artstyles between the dancing on those moments are quite contrasting. But I think it was interesting that the studio experimented with that.
Tumblr media
There were some incredible moments of illustration, all the muscles of the dancers, the female's outfits, the moment where Tatara and Chinatsu figured out their rhythm as a couple, that was truly beautifully illustrated.
Tumblr media
Tatara's character design and Shizuku's character designs were a bit too plain in my opinion but I wonder if this is a chicken and egg situation where if I watched Ballroom first, I would have found Haikyuu's Hinata an orange version of Tatara and did Shizuku become a volleyball manager? hahah. As someone who works and enjoys the arts, I would have loved if they showed a whole dance from start to finish without slow motion or monologues. Some of the dances felt a bit too short and in 10 seconds it was all over. Of course, it would require so much effort to animate an entire dance but I would happily watch it. I think it was a missed opportunity and if Ballroom ever gets a second season, I really hope that the studio takes this into account. The second OP and ED animations were done beautifully to set-up Tatara and Chinatsu's chemistry. The moment I saw that second OP, I was excited to get to know Chinatsu and her effect on Tatara. Overall, what a hidden gem of an anime, I'm so surprised that it has such a small fanbase. I heard that the mangaka has been constantly on hiatus due to health issues. But I do hope that Tatara and Chinatsu becomes canon!

Me debunking astrology generalizations and misconceptions or smth idk...
Squares and oppositions aren't pure evil.
I can't believe I have to say this because I thought ya'll have learnt the characteristics of every aspect but here we are. Nothing in astrology is black and white. And I saw some ridiculous statements (not necessary here on tumblr) that said things like "if your Venus squares someone's ascendant then you don't find that person attractive AT ALL". Or "Mars square Mercury people can't speak politely and have an annoying voice". Like????? First of all, that's ridiculous. Second of all, square in not "everything bad" just like trine is not "everything amazing". Squares bring tension, which leads to motivation, they’re stimulating; sometimes excitement or charisma; sometimes they can make you overdo things. I'm not saying they're oh-so-marvelous because the challenges are still there, but they're not as bad as people paint them to be. Squares happen between two signs that are in the same modality so they have a bunch of things in common. Besides, some of them (Sagi-Pisces and Gemini-Virgo) are ruled by the same planet so there's a special type of chemistry between those (especially when applied to synastry). Oppositions work in two ways, planets either meet in the middle - opposite signs usually complete each other and fuel each other up. And worse case scenario? Natally this means being pulled in two different directions; synastry-wise, you can completely miss each other like two passing cars - so there may be some misunderstandings but I don't think that's the end of the world... And, as per usual, may be mitigated by other positive aspects.
This is me debunking other people's attempts at debunking Sun sign compatibility.
Sun IS very important but when people ask about compatibility and go with Suns... and then someone tries to be a smartass and debunk the "compatible-incompatible" and does the same thing without even realizing it. Like, "oh I actually see a lot of Aries and Pisces having amazing relationships because *insert someting that is a total stretch and refers to their Sun sign traits*"... But you seem to forget that they're neighbouring signs... which means they probably have personal planets in those neighbouring signs... which means they're compatible not because of some made-up stuff that you're trying to come up with but because their other planets are compatible with each other. But you're still feeding into the Sun sign compatibility talk. (So like, what I'm trying to also say, yes, the entire synastry chart comes into play; Also, side note, everyone can get along on some level if they’re mature enough).
Planet in a sign is NOT the same as planet in the house.
There may be some overlaps in some of the sign-houses associations (like in the overall energy; like for example, it sort of makes sense that 3rd, 7th and 11th are referred to as “air houses” because they’re the most social) but in NO WAY there are similarities between planet house position and the "ruling" sign. That association started a few decades ago and some would say that NOT linking houses with signs is a purely traditional approach. But there’s plenty of professional modern astrologers with 20/30/40-year experience who still differentiate between sign/house position... because they know (and have learnt along the way) that there’s a huge difference.
I'll give you 3 quick examples: Gemini planets and 3rd house planets both may put emphasis on communication, mental stimulation and gathering data. But Geminis are often scattered in their approach, they may be easily distracted, may be indecisive, may be jack of all trades and talkative jokesters. They actually hate routines and dullness. "Spice it up" is probably a Gemini's philosophy. Now 3rd house planets may indicate you actually LIKE doing things on the regular - like running errands every other day in the mornings or going to that one specific coffee shop to pick up a snack. You may actually work in logistics or as a postman (especially if your chart ruler or MC ruler is in the 3rd). Planets in the 3rd talk about your siblings, neighbours or school experiences - like having Venus in the 3rd may point to positive experiences within those areas - something Gemini Venus has nothing in common.
Venus in the 9th can study at an art/beauty or fashion school (or even teach there if the MC is involved); can be very attached to spiritual and religious matters; can also find love in a foreign land. But imagine it being in Taurus - rather shy, needing those stable values to feel secure, being an exceptionally great student at that art school thanks to its domicile. Venus in Sagittarius on the other hand, likes adventure, things being shaken up from time to time, lightheartedness and exploration. But what if we flip the scenario and that Sag Venus is in the 2nd house. This can denote earing money through travelling and looking for ways to expand but in a financial matters.
Continuing with the Venus examples, having Venus in Aries is completely different than Venus in the 1st. What do people usually say about Venus in the 1st? That it makes the native charming, lovely, well-put together, with great manners, maybe beautiful, graceful, maybe a bit shallow. When in Aries? None of these characteristics fit, on top of that, it's in its detriment. Our poor gal Venus is uncomfortable and confused in Aries. She's like, "conquer? Swords? Selfishness? Obnoxiousness? Sparring? You're telling me to fight people? What am I doing here???"
And I'll leave you here with that cause those examples weren’t that quick lol and in fact, I could give you a 100 of those. Besides, this actually inspired a 3-page rant that I've already posted not so long ago that you can read HERE.
There's no such thing as "more accurate" astrology.
Both western and vedic are valid. Both can show you the same things. JUST KEEP THEM SEPARATE AND DON'T MIX THEM WITH EACH OTHER. And don't say things like "sidereal shows your soul" - omg I saw this statement soooo many times, who the hell even came up with this?! Actually, if anything, it's the modern western approach that "psychologized" (yea I just made up a word, you mad?) astrology while Jyotish still sticks to the very real "here and now", sometimes fatalistic predictions of how exactly your life is going to roll out... But hey, reach for hellenistic methods and they can tell you the same things, just with different tools. So no, they do not show different things, it's just their language is different.
If you say you don't identify with your chart then you're just reading it wrong.
This partially connects to the last one in some ways... Switching to a different astrology or different charts is not a solution. Learn how to read your natal. If you say it doesn’t describe you, I can guarantee you that you haven’t studied it properly. (Now this hasn't turned into a rant yet but I may actually do a whole-ass post on this because if I start elaborating on it now I'll end up with another 3-page essay).
Learn how and when to generalize. Also learn how to take generalizations.
I understand that you have to pick up on every single thing separately in order to put everything together. It's like learning a new language: first you need to learn individual words and then you need to know the proper grammar to create a full sentence. This is 100% understandable and necessary, but it's important to take the entire thing into consideration. And this goes for all branches of astrology, but I guess it's especially annoying with synastry. This, again, comes down to the very black and white approach. You know, like when you see those long paragraphs where people elaborate on all the intricacies of Venus-Pluto aspects or whatever as if that one thing was determining the entire relationship between two people. (Side note, no shade but some of ya'll should start writing fiction or poetry cause the amount of fluffy speech and waffle that I see floating around here on tumblr is insane sometimes). Why are you wording everything as a make it or break it type of situation? And on the receiving end - learn how to take *properly phrased* generalizations constructively. Example: it IS a rule that Aries is a competitive one, maybe you're not one of them (for many reasons) but don't make a fuss about someone saying this. It IS a basic rule that energies of the same sign in two people are going to get along (well that depends on the planets involved but I digress), if that, for some other reasons, doesn't apply to you, don't go yelling that it's bullcrap because you hate people of the same sign. You know? Like, learn the difference.
DON'T SCARE PEOPLE WITH ASTROLOGY.
I had a mini-rant on this one a while ago, but I think this deserves a constant reminder (and refers to the last point), I don't want to see any more posts that would say things like "xxx house placements will bring you suffering" or "stay away from people with planets in your xxx house" or, even worse, making a (completely untrue btw) prediction based on one single thing like "someone with so-and-so aspect is going to harm you". And you're so casual about it??? You know there are sensitive people in the world. Learn some ethics. Learn some counseling skills. Don't be ignorant. Don't throw these random stuff at people just like that. And learn some actual astrology cause most of these aren't even closely describing that particual aspect. LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
Ok now I'm pissed again.
Studying astrology and believing in free will doesn’t go well together.
It's not just psychological and spiritual. It's useful to know that western astrology made it like that because there were still people threatening astrologers for using it as a divination tool. So they moved away from the predictive/deterministic aspect of it. Now, I'm not here to change anyone's beliefs cause that's a very personal thing that everyone should develop on their own. But once you start diving deeper into astrology you'd notice that there's a heavy emphasis on fatedness and things being predetermined. That includes both the good and the bad stuff and you should learn to accept that. And with the bad things specifically, let's not excuse it with some "oh that was an opportunity for growth". Like yea, maybe, occasionally??? But just acknowledge that sometimes things happen not because there was a deeper meaning in them... but because you have a Pluto-Mars conjunction in the 6th that makes an applying square to your chart ruler and you were going through a profection year where Mars was your time lord and it transited that chart ruler while making a conjunction with Neptune so you were attacked by a baby crocodile while swimming and it bit off your toe and you got a nasty infection and that’s it (I just made that up btw, I don't actually know anyone who was attacted by a crocodile). So like, sometimes shit just happens and there's nothing psychological about it. Also, I bet your free will didn't want to be attacked by that croc.

Feel Me - Dylan O’Brien
Title: Feel Me
Pairing: Dylan O’Brien x OC
Summary: This is Y/n’s first non-indie movie, which is exciting. But she also get’s to work with the amazing Dylan O’Brien. He plays her love interest in the film. This causes some sexual tension between the two. Do they break down and let their feelings get to them, or do they pretend there is nothing going on?
Words: 7.8k
Notes: This is a fic I have been working on for four years. I was never able to find the perfect person for this fic but getting back into Dylan gave me the perfect person. Let me know if you want to see how these two act in interviews for their movie. Perhaps, she will even get a role for the new TW stuff.

Tumblr media
“Okay you two have great chemistry and I want to see it in the next scene. I need to see that passion that will have the audience believing you’re really in love. Which isn’t hard when you have such a beautiful costar like, Y/n. Right Dylan?” The director said to the two of you as you were setting up for the next scene.
Dylan laughed and pulled you close, “You’re right. She’s quite easy to get along with and our chemistry is just on fire. We’ll pull it off. Right Y/n?” He asked you sending you a look that had you melting to the floor.
“Oh yes we will.” You quickly agreed. How could you say anything else when you were really close to Dylan O’Brien? It was amazing that you were getting the chance to work with him and even more so that you were his love interest. So, it’s safe to say you had a huge crush on him that just seemed to grow each day that you worked with him.
To make matters worse, or better in some people’s eyes. Dylan and you were getting ready to do a hot sex scene for this film. You’d read over the script about a hundred times, memorizing each and every word on the pages. You still blushed when you thought about that fact that you would have to fake sex in front of a camera with Dylan O’Brien. You would be nearly naked in front of him. It would be a miracle if you didn’t pass out.
“Good, good. I know you two have read over the script a few times and you’re ready. Now I don’t expect it to be perfect on the first try, but I know you both will do good. Dylan, I want you to rush in the minute she opens the door and pull her into a kiss. Make it look very unexpected. Then you can push her into the wall and take it from there. Any nerves Y/n?” The director asked you.
You blushed and shook your head, “No, I’m fine. I’m ready.” Last night you barely slept because you couldn’t stop thinking about what was about to happen. God you were really going to be ravaged by Dylan on film. God something about that thought was a huge turn on.
“Don’t worry, I will take good care of you.” Dylan said before moving into place, and you blushed before moving into place as well. Your heart was beating so fast right now.
The director surveyed the two of you to make sure you were ready before taking his place behind the camera. Your mind was going a mile a minute right now. Oh gosh, you were essentially about to have sex on camera. Well except there would be no penetration or like actual pleasure.
“Action!” He yelled, and you snapped out of your mind.
Almost immediately Dylan knocked on the door in front of you. You took a deep breath before opening it. Dylan rushed in and pulled you into a kiss, a deeply passionate kiss. You acted surprised and essentially you were because who wouldn’t be surprise when Dylan O’Brien rushed in to kiss you, even if you knew it was going to happen.
You felt him walking you both backwards as you continued to kiss. The kiss was getting hotter and he bit your lip and caused you to open your mouth and let him in. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders to pull him closer. He pushed you against the wall and leaned close.
“Fuck you’re so sexy.” Dylan whispered very softly so that the camera wouldn’t pick it up. You thought he was just really into the scene.
You moaned into his mouth and he lifted your legs up to wrap around his waist, making you even closer to him. You were surprised to feel a bulge forming. Was this actually turning him on? You know you were turned on.
Dylan separated from the kiss like the script had said and attached his lips to your neck, immediately sucking and biting various spots on your neck. It felt like he was trying to find your sensitive spot and it didn’t take him long until you moaned a genuine moan as he nibbled on the spot that had you writhing in his arms.
“Do you want to go further, baby?” Dylan asked separating from your neck. He was breathing hard and looked like he was trying to stay in control.
“Yes, oh yes.” You moaned making him smile. Dylan quickly moved the two of you away from the wall and the director yelled cut.
“Wow, great job guys. Dylan you really sold the part. My god Y/n, those moans sounded so real.” He went on smiling like a lunatic.
Well Mr. Director, those moans were real.
“Are you guys ready for the bed scene?” He questioned Dylan and you.
You were so nervous. In all the works you’d acted in, you’d never done an actual sex scene. Also, you’d never had such an attractive love interest that actually managed to turn you on. From day one of this movie, it felt like Dylan was teasing you. It felt like he knew that you had been crushing on him ever since you saw him first act.
“Can we have ten minutes to get comfortable?” Dylan asked before you could respond.
The director looked at you and then nodded, “Oh yes, that’s totally fine. Take your time.” He walked off leaving you alone with Dylan.
Dylan grabbed your hand and pulled you into the direction of his trailer. Once you both reached it, he shut the door behind you and motioned for you to sit down. For some reason, your nerves were going crazy. You felt like he was going to tell you he didn’t want to do the scene with you.
“I thought that we should talk before we went ahead and had fake sex in front of a camera. It’s your first time, right?” Dylan asked taking a seat beside you.
It sounded like he was asking if you were a virgin and that thought made you blush, “Oh yes, it is.” You said softly.
“It’s best if we talk through boundaries and get more comfortable around each other. I mean I’m extremely comfortable around you, but you’re usually so quiet when we aren’t shooting, so I don’t know how you are.”
Dylan was being so thoughtful, and it made you smile, “Thank you Dylan. I’m actually amazingly comfortable. I mean I have had two months to get used to this sex scene and I feel like I’m ready. Are you?”
“Oh babe, I’m always ready.” He sent a wink your way.
The room suddenly felt hotter and you wondered if he could feel it.
“Um alright. So, what are your boundaries?”
“Well I virtually have none, especially since the scene is so straightforward. I’m more worried about you since this will be your first time doing this on camera. We need to make it look convincing and after what you just did out there, I have no doubt you can do that. But please tell me where your boundaries lie.”
“Okay, well I don’t feel like there will be many to be honest. I want to make the scene look as real as possible and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to do that. I’ve already agreed to go shirtless on camera, so I think anything we do won’t be too shocking to me.”
Dylan nodded his head, “Alrighty then, do you trust me?”
“Of course, I do, you know the scenes well and are an amazing actor.”
He smiled, “Then will you allow me to lead you through the scene?”
Honestly, this proposition made you feel better about the scene, “You will do that for me?”
“Yes, I will. You’ve had sex before, right?”
You blushed a deep crimson when he asked that, “Oh yes I have.” But honestly the three encounters were nothing short of disappointing and not pleasurable for you at all.
“Great, then this won’t be hard at all. I will help you through the scene and it will be over before you know it.”
But you didn’t want it to go by too quickly. You loved that you would be able to spend a short amount of time experiencing just a fraction of what Dylan could offer in bed. You’d only fantasized it almost every night for the last two weeks.
“Okay, are we ready?” You questioned more than ready to do this.
“I believe we are. I’m going to take good care of you out on set.” Those words set the butterflies in motion. Dylan was too sweet to you.
**
The two of you entered set and immediately gained the attention of the director, “You two ready for the scene?”
“We’re ready to go.” Dylan said staying close to you as they set up around you both.
“Great, I suppose the two of you know what is supposed to happen. Now I don’t want this to look like some porn video, I need to see genuine feelings. I chose the two of you because your past work has proven that you’re more than capable of giving me what I need.” The director spoke to the two of you and looked through his script. “Let’s do this. Places on set.”
Your nerves crashed back into you when you realized you were about to be half naked on set, in front of one of your favorite actors.
Dylan leaned into you, “Take a deep breath Y/n, everything will be alright.” You nodded and listened to his words before you were told to take your place on set, which would be in Dylan’s arms, leaning against the door frame in an intense make out session.
Dylan pulled you into his arms and pressed you into the door frame, “Remember, deep breath.” He whispered before the two of you got into position and he picked you up in his arms again. As soon as the director called action, the both of you got right back to kissing. It felt like you had continued where you both left off.
You both kissed for a long while until you got the cue to start moving to the bed. He set you at the edge of the bed while still kissing you. His hands had started to wander your body, feeling your soft curves that were hidden beneath the clothes you were wearing. His hand traveled under your shirt and he rested them on your bare skin, rubbing slow calming circles into your skin, all while still kissing you with a wild passion.
His hands then began to push your shirt up, revealing more of your skin. His hands on your bare skin sent shivers through your body. He pulled away and lifted the shirt over your head and threw it behind him. This was your cue to pull off his shirt as well, so you both continued to kiss as you pushed his shirt up and then pulled it over his head and threw it on the ground with yours.
Your body was on fire and you were so turned on at this point. Everything felt so real and you wanted it to be much more than just what the two of you were doing for the camera. You needed Dylan, but you had to pretend that you didn’t. This was surely going to be hell.
“Oh baby, you’re so hot.” Dylan said his line so perfectly, but you could hear the lust in his voice. The pure genuine lust, that you were sure you’d giving him.
“I need you.” You whined, sitting up and pulling him closer by his belt loops. He stood between your legs as you ran your hands up and down his smooth muscular chest. The feeling of his taut smooth skin beneath your hands, was enough to make you wet. You really did need him, but not on set. Preferably in private, where he could fuck you just the way you wanted it.
“It’s coming, baby.” He pushed you back on the bed and his hands founds the button to your jeans, which he quickly popped and unzipped the jeans. With slow and sensual movements, he moved the jeans down your legs. Kissing every bit of newly exposed skin as he pulled the fabric from your body. You had answered the door having bare feet, so he had no need to remove any shoes.
“You’re so ready for me.” He commented, looking up at you from his spot between your legs. His eyes traveled down to your panties and suddenly you were very aware of how wet you were. You were sure he could see the evidence in front of him, but you hoped to god no one else could see it.
“Stop teasing me.” Your voice came out a little more whiney than you had wanted it but that only made him smirk. He knew just how worked up he had made you.
“Okay baby girl.” Suddenly he started kissing up my legs, moving closer to your soaking wet heat. You hoped he wasn’t going to do what you thought he was going to do. He couldn’t do that on camera. He reached your upper thighs, and placed wet kisses on them, sending shivers through your body. Skipping over your soaked pussy, he was kissing your stomach, moving up your body at a snails pace.
“You’re teasing me, Tommy.” You said the line, keeping the moans from falling from your mouth. His lips on your skin was absolute heaven. You wanted to feel his lips everywhere and anywhere.
“I’m sorry Holly, I just love your body.” The lust was even more evident as he stopped beneath your breasts. Nerves flashed through your body as his hand traveled behind your back to unclasp the grey lacy bra you’d been given in wardrobe. He was about to see you half-naked. Everyone was about to see you half-naked.
“Cut.” The director yelled as his hands found the clasp. You heard him groan lowly in dissatisfaction and it make you giggle from beneath him.
“You two are doing amazing. I love it, I do but there’s something missing from this scene.” The director drawled as he entered the set.
You and Dylan looked at him, waiting for him to figure out what was missing. You honestly felt like everything is perfect and the evidence of that was coating your panties at this very moment. But you weren’t the director, so you couldn’t have the last word about it.
“Give me five minutes to mull it over and we will resume the scene.” He said walking away from you both.
Once again, a groan left Dylan’s mouth. “I was really getting into it.” He mumbled and once again you giggled. His eyes met yours and he raised his eyebrows at you. “You seemed to be getting quite into it as well, my sweet Y/n.” He was still leaning over you, with his face inches from your heaving bust.
“No, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You whispered, letting heat cover your cheeks.
“Oh, you don’t. So, you’re not soaking wet right now?” His words knocked you out of your reverie.
“Not at all.” You lied through my teeth.
“Sure.” Suddenly a hand started traveling down your body, not stopping until it reached the top of your panties. “So, if I put my hand down your panties, I won’t find that you’re soaked?”
Blush covered your cheeks. You never thought you’d hear those words from him.
“Don’t be shy, sweet girl. It’s perfectly normal.” Suddenly his strong hand moved below your panties, traveling the length of your slit and gathering some of the wetness there before he removed his fingers. A smirk graced his face as he pulled his fingers from your panties and examined them before popping them into his mouth and sucking the juices from his fingers.
“Oh, baby girl. You’re wetter than I thought, and you taste absolutely delicious.” If you weren’t already gushing your panties, you were now.
“Alright, let’s get back into position.” The director came back to set and saw you both in the same position. “Oh perfect, the two of you are ready. Let’s just pick up from where we left off.” He stated, going behind the camera once again.
“Action!” He yelled, and you two were right back into the scene.
Dylan was back to kissing his way up to your chest and reaching behind you again, to remove the bra. He was quick to remove it this time, wanting to move on with the scene. A growl left his lips as he removed the bra to reveal your perky breasts. You honestly couldn’t tell if that growl was a part of his character or real, but it sure had you going.
“So perfect.” He whispered while taking one of your breasts into his hand, cupping it in his large hand. You moaned at the feeling, biting your lip, and throwing your head back. Especially when he started squeezing it while the length of his body rubbed on you.
This was your cue to push him up and throw him on his back, while you straddle him. It all happened in a matter of seconds and Dylan was on his back, staring up at you with those handsome amber eyes of his. You straddled his waist proudly, grinding yourself down onto him as his hands gripped your waist.
“I need you now, Tommy. Let’s stop wasting time.” You ground, moving down, and unbuckling his jeans. His shoes had been removed somewhere in the mix of us making it to the bed. You quickly pulled the jeans from his legs, which was surprisingly easy. Dylan laid in the bed, in only his blue briefs, which weren’t doing much to hide what he had to offer.
“Cut!” The director said as you climbed back onto his waist. “Okay, now we’re going to cut scenes to the main event. We’re going to conceal the fact that you still have clothes on with that sheet. Get into position.” He explained to us.
Dylan helped you from the bed and pulled the sheet down and laid back down on the bed. You positioned yourself on him once again, while some of the set help came to position the sheet to cover your lower halves, to serve the illusion you two were really having sex.
“Perfect. Everyone back into position. Also, I want some more moans, maybe a little hair pulling.” He explained before yelling action once again.
This time, when the camera started rolling, you were wrapped in his arms and you both were locked in a passionate kiss. Now you were supposed to “ride” him, but really just move your hips to drive the illusion further.
Dylan kissed you with more passion than the previous kisses you two had shared and rolled his hips up, sending them colliding with yours and causing his bulge to rub up again your soaking heat. You moaned out loud and gripped his arms as the kiss continued. His hips continued thrusting up, causing him to rub even more. The moans falling from your mouth were real at this point.
“Fuck baby, I love when you moan like that.” His deep voice only served to further your current lust for him. You pressed yourself down onto him, meeting his thrusts and rubbing your swollen clit against his bulge.
Suddenly you were on your back and Dylan was above you. “Tommy, keep it up.” You moaned into his ear, losing your breath as his bulge bumped your heat again and again. You could feel the juices flowing from you and you hoped you would be able to hide that fact once the scene was done.
All thoughts were on Dylan and how he was actually pleasuring you, while the two of you were on camera. Your fingernails embedded themselves into his back, just like the script read but this was a completely real reaction from you. Your head was thrown back in pleasure and his lips attacked your neck as the thrusts continued. You two were dry humping, he had to be getting pleasure out of this. There’s no way he wasn’t.
“You feel so good, baby girl.” He moaned into your ear and you could hear just how much this had affected him as well. You pressed yourself into him a little harder, feeling a distinct jerk from his clothed cock. His poor cock was so aroused with nowhere to go. You so desperately wanted to free it from its prison and slip the lengthy member into your soaking pussy.
You moaned loudly as he hit a particularly good spot that had your panties completely soaked through and through. There was no doubt, the evidence would be there when you both finished. His movements increased, bringing even more pleasure to your little clit, causing you to wrap your legs around his waist and moan even more than before. You were on a trip to heaven and he knew this. He knew you were only seconds from orgasming, and he was willing to take it that far.
To delay an orgasm, you pulled your hips away from his, but his arm wrapped around your body and pulled you against his body again, continuing the tortuous thrusting that was taking place at the moment. He was trying to make you cum in front of all these people, what a sneaky man.
“Cum for me, Holly. I know how close you are.” You swear he wanted to say Y/n, you could just tell but he had managed to save himself. You let out a scream as an intense orgasm overtook your body, absolutely soaking his boxers in the process. Even as the orgasm hit, he continued his torture for the camera. Following the script closely. He was going to make this good for the audience.
The two of you finally slowed down the thrusting and you both dropped down to the bed. His arms were still wrapped around you and his crotch was flush with your soaked pussy. A cheeky smirk graced his face as he took your face in his hands and kissed your swollen lips.
“Oh Holly, I love you so much.” The words that were meant for your character, sent your heart into a frenzy.
“I love you.” You answered back before cuddling up into his chest as he pulled the sheet up over your bodies. The little movement caused more juice to gush from you. You were in a state of shock about the fact you’d actually came on set with Dylan O’Brien. Your sexy as fuck co-star just dry humped you to an orgasm in a room full of people.
“Cut!” The director yelled. You both opened our eyes to see a huge smile upon his face. “That was perfect! You two really killed that scene. We’re done for the day. Thanks for the killer acting you two.” Acting was definitely not something that happened just then, but you just nodded. “We’ll see you Monday, take the weekend off you two.” He said before leaving Dylan and you, half naked on set.
“Well my sweet Y/n. That sure was some great acting. I can sure feel the evidence of that.” He whispered glance down at his covered boxers.
Of course, you were blushing again.
He wrapped an arm around you from the side and pulled you close. “No need to be embarrassed, baby. That was the sexiest thing ever. I fucking loved it and I wouldn’t mind doing that again. Maybe this time we can do it for real?”
You didn’t know how to reply but both your set assistants saved us by bringing thick blue robes over for you two to cover up in. “Thank you, Millie.” You said wrapping the soft fabric around your exposed body. You quickly excused yourself from set and retreated back to your trailer. Your body was so worked up at this point and you desperately needed a shower to clean up from that intense orgasm Dylan had given you.
**
After that hot scene, you needed a shower to clean up the evidence of that orgasm Dylan had given you without even trying. It was crazy that you even allowed for that to happen. You never let your guard down like that but somehow, Dylan made you bring the walls down to feel like that on set, in front of a bunch of people.
You retreated back to your trailer and hopped into the shower, to wash away the sweat that had formed while you faked sex for the big screen. The shower felt nice and it definitely relaxed you even more. You were sure the only person who knew you’d come on set, was Dylan. It was his goal to make me come, you were sure of it. You’d attempted to pull away from his hips, but he had pulled you back, knowing you were seconds from a huge orgasm. He was a sneaky guy.
Once you finished in the shower, you exited the bathroom and put the robe back around your body once you’d dried off sufficiently. A knock at the door was heard as you entered the main area of the trailer. You assumed it was your agent or someone from set, but you were wrong. Dylan O’Brien was waiting behind the door, fully dressed as opposed to the last time you’d seen him. He let himself into the trailer without an invitation. You shut the door and turned towards him.
“What are you doing here?” You asked as he took a seat on your couch. His eyes roamed up and down your body, and an appreciative smirk graced his face, which caused you to blush.
“I was hoping you would agree to go out for a drink with me, to celebrate a good day of shooting.” His voice was as sexy as ever and his eyes didn’t leave your body.
“Oh sure, I just need to get dressed.”
“Who said you needed clothes.” Dylan was being cheeky, and he knew that.
“I would prefer not to go in public naked.”
“You were half naked just now, out on set.”
“That was different.” You were about to go into the back to get clothes when he caught your hand and pulled you between his legs.
“You know, your body is sexy, right? I think men aren’t going to be able to control themselves when they see it on the big screen.” His hands moved to your hips and he pulled you close, resting his head on your stomach.
“They’re only going to see my breasts.” You countered, not wanting to really hear about what men would do once they saw your body. You’d never been really confident in what you had, and it took a lot to get yourself to agree to do it for this movie.
He chuckled and nuzzled his face into the fabric of the robe you were wearing. “I could barely control myself out there. You felt how you make me feel.”
You tried to step back, but he held you in place. “You probably do that with every sex scene you do.” You hadn’t wanted to think about his past movies and the past women he’s had to shoot with, but that thought was always in the back of your mind.
“I don’t. My co-stars don’t really measure up to you. They never made me feel the way you make me feel, Y/n.” You tried to detect any lies, but you couldn’t really tell. You wanted to believe him, but he was a well-known actor and you didn’t think he could really feel something for you. A newcomer actress who’d only ever acted in Indie movies so far.
“That can’t be true.” Once again, you tried to pull away only to be pulled back.
“It’s true. The chemistry we feel, it’s new to me. I’ve never fit well with any other actresses I have acted with. It’s easy with you and I feel like I don’t have to fake the feelings like I had done in the past.” His words were genuine.
“Dylan, how could you feel that for me. I’m nothing special and I’m still new to Hollywood.”
“Y/n, you’re gorgeous and absolutely perfect in my eyes. I’ve never seen any flaws in what you do and if there is, you hide them well. You act with this elegance that inspires me. You have brought me back to the feelings I had when I first began acting. With you, everything is great.”
“Wow, Dylan. I had no idea you felt this way. You know I have admired you since you began acting. Seeing you on the big screen inspired me to jump into it and actually audition for something. I never thought I would ever have the chance to act beside you in a movie and yet here I am. Everyday here on set, has been amazing and a dream.”
“So, does that mean you have feelings for me?” He questioned as his golden amber eyes stared up into yours.
“Well of course it does.” You admitted when he pulled you into his lap and kissed your lips with this unwavering passion that you’d felt pieces of when you’d been on set. His lips on yours felt like heaven on earth or they had transported you there, either way, his lips were amazing. You gave into the kiss and returned the passion he was giving you. You wanted him to know you felt the same way.
His arms wrapped around your waist, joining behind your back, and pulling you closer. Somehow, you had wound your legs around his waist, forgetting completely that all you had on was a robe. It was the last thing on your mind as the kiss consumed you completely. You honestly felt like this was something you’ve never experience before, and you loved every second of it. His lips were becoming dominate and you accepted it and loved it because you wanted more, no you needed more. You needed to feel all of what he was feeling for you and you could definitely feel that through the kiss.
“Your lips are so soft.” He mumbled as you two parted for a brief moment. You took initiative and pulled him back into the kiss. The craving has reigned you in as you bit his lip. He hadn’t expected it, but he loved it because he smirked into the kiss.
Your arms were wound around his shoulders, pulling you closer to him. You felt like you needed to get even closer to him and he felt it as well, because his grip on you had only grown tighter but not uncomfortably so. It was nice to be wrapped up in his arms like this, no one had really made you feel the way he did. He brought out intense feelings from you.
This time, he bit your lip and you opened your mouth in a gasp, surprised at the move. He took the chance to join your tongues in a blissful move. You savored the feelings and tastes you received from him. He tasted like spearmint gum and a hint of coffee from the morning you suppose. It was an overall pleasant taste.
You needed more, so you started to grind yourself down onto him as the kiss continued to overtake the two of you. It was then that you were reminded you were only wearing a robe, because your naked heat is what came into contact with the bulge that was covered in jeans. A whimper left your mouth as the pleasure shot through your body, which was still sensitive from the scene on set.
He pulled away from the kiss. “You forgot you were naked, didn’t you?” He asked with a sexy grin gracing his handsome face.
“Yes, because you came in here and started ravaging me with kisses and I forgot what I had been doing before you came.” You admitted as his hips jerked up into yours, the fabric of the jeans, colliding with your uncovered clit. You cried out in surprise. “You’re not making this easier for me.”
“I don’t want to, baby. I want you. I actually want to feel what it would be like to be inside you. That was pure torture on set. I was seconds away from pulling our underwear off and thrusting into you, I didn’t care who was there on set with us.”
“Oh, I was seconds away from doing the same thing, but I think that would have made our movie into a porn and the director didn’t want that.”
His teeth nibbled on your neck, making you moan out loud. “Well he’s not here right now.”
“Do you want to go further?” Once again, he thrust up, and you were soaking at the torture.
“Yes, I do. Do you want to?” His lips were now covering your neck with small little fluttering kisses that made you feel good.
“I do.” You confirmed, knowing that this was something you wanted.
Without another word, Dylan found the ties to your robe and quickly untied them. The robe fell open, revealing your completely naked body to him. His hands wasted no time in touching and stroking the newly exposed skin. One of his hands wrapped around one of your breasts, he kneaded it making you moan out.
“You like that.” He looked up into your eyes. His whiskey eyes were now fully clouded with lust as he played with you. “I bet you would like it if I touched your wet pussy?” He said. His free hand traveled down your stomach, moving at an achingly slow pace down to your pulsing sex. Finally, after ages, his fingers found your aroused clit. It moved lower to feel the wetness that was coming from your pussy. “Baby girl is so wet for me.”
The way he said that, made you moan out. He smirked at the sound, happy with himself for making you moan at the smallest touch.
“Yes, that’s right baby. I want to hear how good I make you feel.” His wet fingers moved back to your clit, rubbing tortuous circles on the little hard button of nerves.
You bit your lip which he didn’t like. Dylan’s hand left your breast and pulled your lip from your teeth. “No, we’re not going to hold back.”
He was wearing too much clothing. “You’re way too dressed.” His fingers were still rubbing your clit, but you moved to pull his shirt off. He had to remove his fingers while you did this but he quickly replaced them, making you whimper at the touch.
“I love how sensitive I have made you.” The grin on his face was so sexy. You moaned and threw your head back with pleasure. “I need to taste you.”
Dylan removed his fingers and stood up. He kicked off his shoes before taking your hand and leading you back to the bed. As he walked, he unbuttoned his pants. In the bedroom, he pushed you back on the bed. Then he removed his pants and this huge bulge was suddenly on display. It was mouthwateringly sexy.
“What was it that you were saying? You wanted to taste me.” You spread your legs, revealing your swollen and aroused pussy. Your fingers stroked through your folds, teasing both yourself and Dylan.
He growled and fell to his knees. Grabbing a hold of your legs, he yanked you to the edge of the bed. Then he spread your legs before diving into your soaked heat.
His tongue went right for your clit, circling it the way his fingers had. His hands gripped your thighs as he focused on your hard-little clit. Two fingers pushed into your entrance, filling you up. You moaned as he expertly pleasured you.
“Oh fuck, just like that.” It was hard not to want to just completely lose it when the hottest guy ever was going down on you. It was a dream come true.
He hummed against your clit, sending another jolt of pleasure through your body. You buried your hands into his dark hair as he sucked your clit into his perfect mouth. This made your hips buck up for attention.
Dylan pulled away and looked up at you. “How close are you, baby girl?” He questioned before diving back in.
“So close. Keep going, Dyl. I want to come.” You let out a loud moan as he quickened the pace of his fingers that were pumping in and out of you.
He focused all his attention on the buzzing bundle of nerves, knowing that would bring you to your much-desired end.
As your orgasm hit you head on, the blinding pleasure took over your body. You screamed out his name as he continued his torture on your sensitive pussy. He looked extremely pleased with what he’d done. Dylan cleaned up your juices before lifting his face from your pussy. He was covered in your essence.
“That was so fucking hot.” Dylan moved up the bed, so he was hovering over you and pulled you into a sexy kiss. “You taste amazing.” He moaned against your lips.
As you came down from your orgasm, he rubbed his hard cock against your sex. His cock was still covered, but you were dying to take off the last remaining clothing that separated the two of you.
“I need more, Dylan.” You whispered as his bulge thrust against you.
“Tell me what you want, baby.” Dylan was totally turning you on with the slight Dom tone he’d taken on.
“You know what I want, Dyl.” Your hand traveled down his body     grip his hardened cock. He groaned and grabbed both your hands, pinning them above your head.
“You have to be more specific for me, sweetheart.” He was purposely teasing you now.
You bit your lip before letting out a long moan. “I need you to fuck me, Dylan. Fuck me and show me how much I turn you on.”
The smirk on his face told you that was what he’d wanted. “Good. I can’t wait to fuck this beautiful little pussy. It’s already so wet and willing again.” He moved off you and went to his pants, pulling out a condom.
You sat up and watched Dylan push his briefs from his hips. Then he rolled on the condom. He was deliberately slow and taking his time. He was watching you closely. Once he’d put it on, he made his way back to you.
“Well baby, I think I want to see you ride my cock right now.” He pulled you up and took a seat on the bed. You wasted no time placing his ready cock at your entrance. Once he felt you, he pushed forward, burying himself in your wet walls.
He filled you up in a way that had you losing your mind. His cock was something you could easily get addicted to.
Dylan started moving inside you, which made you start to move on top of him. You swirled your hips as you rode his cock. This was actually a first for you. Your previous encounters never really grew out of the boring missionary. They clearly knew nothing of the pleasure that came with having someone ride your cock.
His hands found your hips as you continued your movements on top of him. He was moaning out loud now, which told you he liked what you were doing.
You pushed him back, so he was laying down and started to ride him harder than before. The feel of his thick cock filling you up, was pure bliss. It had your next orgasm building up quickly. Dylan’s hands reached up to cup your breasts, playing with them as you continued your work.
There was a certain power that came with watching a man fall apart under you. Knowing you were the one who was pleasuring him to the point where he couldn’t contain his moans. You loved it. Most guys weren’t keen about letting the woman take control. Dylan didn’t seem to worried at all about this, it seemed he loved you taking control.
Your second orgasm hit, and you could no longer keep control on top of him. He saw this and took the opportunity to flip you under him. His cock was still inside your pulsing walls, but he was allowing your orgasm to pass before he started on you again.
As soon as you’d calmed down, he started his assault again and began pumping in and out of you. His hands were gripping your waist as he did this. The feeling of your still pulsing walls, on his cock, was heaven and he’d been wanting this since the first moment he met you for this movie. He’d felt the amazing chemistry that led to this connection the two of you shared.
You wrapped your legs around his waist, allowing him to dive in deeper inside of you. He captured your lips in a hot kiss. It was safe to say the two of you were lost in each other. Just being wrapped up in him was amazingly perfect. You loved it.
“Fuck, Dylan.” You whimpered as his cock brushed past your g-spot. Your third orgasm was building, but you wanted him to cum before you. He needed to. “Cum for me, Dyl. I want to feel you explode inside of me.” You whispered this into his ear, feeling his cock twitch at those words.
“Yes! You feel so fucking good around me.” He moaned as he let go. He came into the condom, but you still felt him explode while he was inside you and it was sexy. It triggered your third orgasm too, making you moan his name out loud. He loved hearing you say his name in the moment of intense pleasure. The look on your face just turned him.
As soon as the orgasms were over, Dylan gingerly set you back on the bed. You hadn’t even noticed how wrapped up the two of you had become. He slid out of you and dropped down onto the bed beside you. After a couple minutes, he got up to dispose of the condom before returning back to you.
Dylan pulled you close as he laid down again. He smiled down at you; happy he’d finally made a move on the woman who’s been plaguing his mind.
“That was amazing.” You said as you snuggled up beside him. Dylan cuddled up next to you happily.
“I can agree. I’ve been thinking about doing that since we met.” He confessed.
You looked up at him. “Wait, really?” This was unreal. Having admired him since his early Teen Wolf days, you never imagined you would be in this position.
“Yes. I just knew there was something between us. I love that it took a hot fake sex scene for us to get here. That’s a story to tell our kids.” He was clearly joking but just hearing him say that, set off butterflies.
This made you giggle. “We already have kids, huh?” You could joke too.
“Yeah, our two daughters and son.” He had good humor. It was nice that it wasn’t awkward between you two after sex.
“I remember now. How could I forget my own children.” This made him chuckle.
“Y/n, will you go out with me?” He asked with hope in his eyes.
“I will. Because I have liked you forever now, like way before I started acting.” You admitted.
“Oh really? So I take it you are a Teen Wolf fan?”
“I am.”
“Then you’re going to love my next endeavor. Jeff decided he wanted to bring us back for a surprise season, because the fans have begged for years.” This news was amazing. He was also clearly happy to return for the show.
“This I love. Will it be on MTV?”
“No, he signed a contract with Amazon Prime.”
“Even better.”
Dylan loved how excited you were about this. “Hey, they are holding casting calls for the show. You should audition.”
This was a dream. Teen Wolf had been the show that interested you in acting while you were in college. If you had a chance to be in the show, past you would die.
“Oh really? Adding characters?”
“I don’t know the whole premise of the season, but I do know he wants to bring on some new characters. I think you would fit in perfectly with the show.”
Dylan sure knew how to charm you.
“You’re only saying that because we just had sex.” You nudged him.
“I would never.” He pulled off a cute shocked face.
Being around him was easy. You were glad that sleeping together hadn’t changed the dynamic between you too. If anything it felt better.
“I know you well enough, Mr. O’Brien.”
“Can’t argue with that.”
The two of you were growing tired. So you asked him to stay the night, to which he said he was already planning on it. You drifted off as you made plans for your date.
**
Dylan and you had spent the weekend together. Monday morning, you both returned to set with this glow to you. Both of you were extremely satisfied with the way things were working out.
“Dylan and Y/n, just the people I wanted to see. Come to the office.” You both had walked in together.
Once in the office, the director expressed how happy he was with the scene you’d shot last week. In fact, everyone loved it so much that they decided to add another scene.
“So they wrote a whole new scene for us?” Dylan asked as the director finished.
“That’s right. Your chemistry is so good, that they really wanted more. Are you okay with that?” He looked between the two of you.
“Oh yes, we can do it.” You said as Dylan squeezed your thigh in a teasing matter.
He clapped his hands together. “Great, we will send you the new scene when it’s ready. Now let’s resume filming.” Director got up and headed for the door.
You stood up to follow, Dylan was right behind you. “Looks like we get to have more fake sex. Can you handle it?”
“Now that I’ve had the real thing, I know I can.” You loved the teasing. Dylan quickly kissed you before you entered set. This was definitely an interesting movie.
