I was just reading your Minnie POV (ABSOLUTELY AMAZING) and there was a bit about her saying about how it’s not only the team but also James and Lily’s outrage and then she describes how withdrawn Sirius is at home now - was there conversations between James and Minnie?? If so I would love to read that
This has been in my inbox for days, and I'm so sorry. But the brain does what it wants and I have little control over it. But I am so happy you enjoyed the Minnie POV so much. I adore her.
Another outtake from At the Healing Edge of Broken, taking place during chapter 10.
Cw: mentions of rape
"I need to know what's going to happen to Prewett."
"Mr Potter, I assure you that we're – "
"Because this can't slide. Sirius won't press charges on him, but – "
"Please, Mr Potter, if you'd just let me – "
" – he can't get away with this. Something has to happen to him. There has to be consequences."
"We fully agree with that, and I promise you that – "
"Why did he do this?"
"James!" snaps Minerva after the last shout. Silence finally falls over the speakers of the phone pressed to her ear, and she breathes out a small sigh. "I have to go, but I assure you that myself and Alastor are doing everything we can. I know you're upset. So am I. I am not taking any of this lightly, and I'd think you'd know me too well by now to ever believe I am. We are doing what it is within our power to do, and I'm making moves for more. Now, I will speak with you when I know more."
She hears a mumble from the other side of the connection and then the phone beeps in her ear, signaling James Potter's departure.
----
"Minnie – "
"Please do not call me that. I've asked you both countless times."
" – have they given you an answer?"
Minerva exhales a heavy breath as James continues as though she'd never spoken. "Nothing I'm willing to relay, no," she responds curtly, frustrated with the entire situation.
"What does that mean? They've said something, then? What? What are they doing? Why is he still on the team?" He sounds frantic, agitated. Minerva understands. She feels it too.
"It means their responses have not been to my liking and I've not yet stopped. Please stop calling me. I will let you know something as soon as I do." And with that, she disconnects the call.
----
Minerva opens her office door and startles when she's met with a wide pair of hazel eyes and more disrupted than usual black hair. James Potter stares back at her from the middle of her floor, his expression drawn, face paler than she's ever seen it.
"Mr Potter, now really, this is going too far – "
"Minerva, please," says James quietly, and Minerva stops, hearing the desolate tone to his voice, the use of her proper name for possibly the first time ever since she'd met the man staring at her forlornly. "Please. I need to know what they've said so far, what you've done, tried to do. I have to know."
Minerva's gaze sweeps over him, and her rigid posture relaxes a little in sympathy. "They haven't said much, I'm afraid. They're deliberating." She says the words with a snideness she typically refuses to use.
"Deliberating," echoes James, and his legs seem to give out beneath him, his body crumbling into the waiting chair. "Deliberating about…about – fuck. What's there to talk about? Gideon raped him. He cornered him and he – he – fuck! He tore him apart." James suddenly sags, Minerva watches it happen, sees the crushing agony taking him over. "Sirius is gone," he whispers. "He's just…gone. And they don't care. No one cares."
Minerva frowns, and her chest squeezes tightly with an ache she's felt for weeks now. She steps forward and kneels down until they're level, her hand slotting over James' arm.
"We care, James," she says firmly. "We care, and I'm not giving up until there are no other options. Gideon Prewett will feel the consequences of his actions, somehow."
James doesn't look convinced, but he nods at her slowly, not speaking again.

"Babe? Baby? Hello, are you there?" Mingi's voice repeatedly called out to me.
But I was in such a shocked form I needed a while to even realise who's voice that was, the realisation hitting me hard suddenly. So hard, it felt like a bullet had hit my heart and teared it in two halfs. I didn't want to believe it in that moment because it just seemed to surreal to be true that he had betrayed our shared love, but I think he really had broken my heart that second. And it felt impossible to heal again.
Though, I wanted to break off civilized and maybe give him a chance to explain why exactly he'd been seen with another girl by my so called "friends". I'd find it stupid to be that sensitive and just cut our bond like that. Both of us wouldn't deserve it that way.
"Mingi, we need to talk. When will you be here?" I needed everything in me to control the tone of my voice and not let him know what a cry baby I was. I had avoided the word "home" on purpose, unable to think about the fact that we practically shared this apartment since we got together.
I couldn't see it, but I knew that he frowned after my words. Not sure if he should feel guilty or worried. I think probably he was more worried because he was pretty protective and attentive when it was about me, and he always knew when something was up with me or if I were just joking. Mingi could feel the tension building up in his veins. And within the next few minutes not only blood rushed through them, pure adrenalin were mixed with it, by the intense fear he felt.
"Why, baby? Is everything okay? Don't make me worried, please. I called because I wanted to tell you that I'll be with you in around ten minutes." He answered, already feeling how sweaty his hands felt on the steering wheel.
He gets home late on Saturdays and always calls me when he's on his way. Although the only thing that buzzed inside my head was, why he would make all this effort for me and our valuable relationship when he had someone else to love.
Maybe we still had hope? Or he just wanted to keep a good reputation and break up with me without me knowing he'd found another girl.
I shook my head, in order to get rid of those awful thoughts. It began hurting more and more each second that had past.
"That's good. I'll see you then. Drive safe." I ended the call. Even if he had made big mistake, I still cared for him and I didn't want him to drive home faster and have an accident just because of me.
●●Author's POV●●
Mingi didn't understand anything anymore. He was eager to know what in the dirty hell was going on and have the problem solved as fast as possible. Since he really fucking hated arguing with you or if you were mad at him.
You were everything he had, and that was the ugly truth. He had no one else, his family didn't support him in anything that he did. He had just a few friends that he could say he trusted well enough to talk about some particular things of his private life with. Though, no one could compete with you.
And he thought you knew that. But he could feel how this night wasn't going to end well for him.
...
When Mingi arrived everything was silent. And he hated this kind of silence. It wasn't only scary, it reminded him of you not talking a word with him even though you may be in the same room. It was because you were never silent, you always talked to him. There was just a few moments he had to experience where you had given him the cold shoulder. The worst thing that he could ever imagine to happen. Because he loved you, truly and dearly. With every single cell of his body. Who else would there be to love anyways?
At first he had hope and thought it was just going to be one of your warnings you gave him when he didn't do something you told him to do several times, like cleaning up his mess or taking out the trash. Just simple things, he could apologise for and do what he was supposed to do.
Mingi got rid of his jacket and shoes in a swift motion, just wanting to see your face again. Even if he was just gone for a few hours, he had missed you so goddamn much, his heart already began swelling.
And then he searched for you in the living room. So finally Mingi saw your face, but he had imagined it to look very much different. His heart sunk as he saw how red your eyes were. The tall and totally whipped man already began begging for it to be just a nightmare. He barely saw you this way and if he did, he wasn't the reason and could sing you to sleep until you were happy again, but something had him feeling like that wasn't the case this time.
"Y/n please, tell me what’s wrong. I will make it up, I promise. It will be fine." His calming voice spoke to you while he looked for any other signs in your face.
In reality he was scared, he wasn't calm, he was screaming inside, hoping for it to be just nothing. Mingi wanted to spend the rest of the day cuddling with you and fulfilling all of your little wishes. He had it planned out, so he pleaded for it to be nothing big that he had to worry about any longer. It was already enough pain he was feeling as he saw how exhausted you looked, it teared him apart.
Your eyes searched for his, looking for sincerity. And you found it, you could clearly tell how scared he was. Then you decided to speak, using all your strength to not cry out for his help.
"Mingi. I know I'm important to you. And it's okay, alright? I just want you to break up with me now and tell me the truth." You tried to be gentle, because you didn't feel like yelling at his handsome face.
You didn't wanted to see how realisation hits him. But weirdly, you really didn't. You only saw confusion.
"Baby, what do you mean "break up"? Why would I ever do that? I never thought about it and I never will. I promise you, it'll be okay, just tell me what got you so upset. Please, baby I wanna see you happy." He approached you and stood now a few inches away, using the opportunity to lay his hand on your cheek and caress it.
Mingi gave you a reassuring smile until you put his hands away from you. This small gesture pained him so much, it let his eyes get teary instantly. Why were you doing this?
"Please don't call me baby anymore. I think we should take a break or something. You don't love me enough to not think about replacing me soon." You stated and the first tears started falling.
"Why would I replace you? You don't know how much you mean to me y/n, do you? I love so much." He tried grabbing you again but you refused to have skin contact now.
"Don't do this y/n, please. You're all I have." He begged, sniffing while whiping his tears away.
"But what can I do when you found someone better than me?! I love you more than I have loved anyone else before but I don't wanna look at you while knowing you don't feel the same, Mingi!" Your voice got louder, although it was the last thing you wanted.
Now your boyfriend had completely lost his mind. The ability to think before speaking wasn’t a choice anymore, leading to words he would regret for the rest if his life time.
"Fine! I don't wanna look at your face either, I can find plenty of prettier ones!!" It took him a second before recalling and realising what he just said to you.
Mingi didn't even knew he could be this mean. But he was desperate, he was confused by the things you accused him of so suddenly. It was to much to take. And too late for him to change his choice of words.
As a wave of regret hit him, he tried holding you and apologised continuously, but for no use. You had made up your mind by then, you had to leave him. Now, not later.
And after another few minutes of him trying to explain, he could watch you leave with a little bag in your hand.
Mingi would never forget your last words: "I wished I wouldn't love but hate you."

Frozen Within the Night Wind: Jasper Hale x Fleur Swan, Chapter 11.
Tumblr media
None of the characters in Twilight belong to me, all rights go to Stephenie Meyer.
Authors note:I was reading up on the Newborn Battle and saw that it took place in June... I get that snow storms can happen on mountains but why is everyone else wearing jackets in the battle haha.
"When the mako flies Up from the bottom in your eyes Then I know the twilight skies Are not so broken hearted."
Stylo by, Gorillaz
Today was the day, they would finally arrive ending the constant tension of the inevitable battle. We all stood tense in the field, the wolves were hiding so they weren't immediately sought after.
"Fleur, do you think you could track Riley? We need to know how close he is." Esme asked.
"On it... They aren't to far from here, it'll take them about... 2 minutes before they find us. They're falling for Bella's blood trap quite easily."
"That's good, we don't need them finding her." Carlisle said.
I felt someone grab my hand I turned and looked at them, Jasper was staring back at me.
"We're gonna be fine." He said. I turned my head due to the sound of rustling coming from the far side of the field. I looked back at him and smiled.
"I know we are."
I then saw the crowd coming toward us, they all were yelling. We then began to run toward them as soon as the got close enough both Jasper and I punched two of the vampires heads off. The rest of us had separated at that point as the new born vampires spread out. Two vampires came toward me both of them trying to take out my head. I dunk under them both easily and took out there legs, leaving them defenseless. I then took off both of there heads, another vampire snuck up behind my and grabbed me by the back of my neck, I grabbed both of there hands and flipped them over, crushing there head into the ground and shattering it.
I looked around me and saw Paul with two vampires on his back, I quickly made it toward him. Kicking two other vampires in the process and flipping over another one that was being chased by a wolf before making it to him. I ripped the first one off his body taking it's head clean off with it. Paul had gotten the other one off of him and looked at me quickly before running off again. I ran toward a tree and rock, suspecting someone to be hiding there. My theory proved to be correct, I saw a girl coming out of the little nook.
Tumblr media
She looked about 15 years old and scared out of her mind. I stopped myself from attacking her and saw Carlisle and Esme next to me, we were unsure about her.
"Let's leave her here...I really don't think she'll try anything. She looks absolutely terrified." I said Esme and Carlisle nodded. I then ran back toward the fight. I was in the midst of a power struggle with one vampire, my arms, shoulders, sides of my neck, and cheeks began to crack from the pressure. It was unbearable, it was as if a thousand needles were stabbing each individual nerve rendering it useless. Suddenly the pressure was gone and angry amber eyes looked down at the vampire's dismembered body. I healed quickly thankfully and Jasper and I ran off together to defeat the remaining vampires left. They had all been taken out with ease with the exception of a few. Before we both could react a vampire bite Jasper right on the neck, trying to tear apart his skin. Jasper had let out a yell due to the pain and I quickly pushed him off of Jasper, stomping his head in. Emmett and Paul took out the last vampire. When we all dragged them to the middle of the field to burn them I noticed I never saw Riley.
"Hey... did any of you guys run into Riley?"
I saw uncertain faces on the Cullens, which gave me the answer.
I decided to track him, to see if he was still around. I saw him stalking up a mountain, Bella and Edward suddenly came into view.
"Riley... listen to me. Victoria is just using you to distract me. She knows I’ll kill you. In fact, she’ll be glad she didn’t have to deal with you anymore." Edward stated.
Bella looked terrified behind him. I saw Victoria come down a tree landing on a rock covered in snow.
"Don’t listen, Riley. I told you about their mind tricks." Victoria persuaded.
"I can read her mind. So I know what she thinks of you." Edward interjected.
"He's lying."
"She only created you and this army to avenge her true mate, James. That’s the only thing she cares about. Not you."
Riley turned his head to her, and an unsure look was on his pale, deadly face.
Victoria froze, her eyes slightly widened.
"There's only you, you know that!" She said.
Riley then began to walk toward Edward again, Both he and Bella backed up.
"Think about it. You’re from Forks, you know the area. That’s the only reason she chose you. She doesn’t love you."
"Riley, don’t let him do this to us. You know I love you."
Riley turned his head back to Edward a smirk was on his face.
"You're...dead."
I broke out of trance before a fight could break out.
"Guys...They're both with Edward and Bella..."
All of the Cullens's eyes widened with shock.
"Look I got a plan, Dean, you're the second-fastest in the family so you need to get that girl out of here take her back to the house... I have a feeling the Volturi are going to show up and I don't think they'll spare her. I am going to get as close to the fight as I can from the mountains and try to get Victoria to hallucinate again. We don't have any time to waste, MOVE IT!" I demanded before running toward the fight. I could hear Jasper in the distance as I kept running.
"That's my girl..."
As I ran it felt like I was having deja-vu, it reminded me of the ballet studio situation 2 years ago. That same mantra was going through my head. "Please...let me get there in time." No matter how cruel and unkind Bella could be...I couldn't stand the thought of her getting killed by the cold hands of revenge.
Flashback: 4 years ago.
"THAT'S IT... I CAN'T STAND TO BE AROUND YOU TWO ANYMORE!" I yelled at Bella and Renee.
"OH GET OVER YOURSELF, YOU'RE THE ONE ALWAYS CAUSING TROUBLE AROUND HERE!" Renee yelled back.
"Causing trouble....CAUSING TROUBLE? WHAT THE FUCK DID I DO THIS TIME?"
"YOU WATCH YOUR MOUTH YOUNG LADY! I HAVE RAISED YOU FOR 15 YEARS!"
"THAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU A GOOD MOTHER!"
"How dare you..."
"What did I do.... what do I always do? Want love? Reassurance? Someone I can trust? That's not "causing problems"... that's something a parent should give to their child. Oh sorry... both of their children!"
"Well...it's hard to give that to a child you just can't stand. You act just like your father..."
"You say that like it's an insult... my father is an intelligent, compassionate man, I'm glad you left him... I didn't want to see him get abused like me."
Bella just sat back and smirked, enjoying the chaos that was in front of her.
"If you love him so much why don't you go live with him."
"Fine... I will just buy the damn plane ticket and I swear I will never come back here again!"
"I will... Bella will finally be able to get away from your poisonous mind."
I scoffed and rolled my eyes before speaking again.
"Goodbye Renee, I'll see you at my wedding. I know you won't be able to resist showing up, you'll have so much fun at the open bar being the boozer you were meant to be. Your speech will probably be you upchucking on the stage. It'll be a hit with the guest."
Renee and Bella's eyes widened with shock. Renee decided to speak up.
"Like you'll ever get married... no sane person would want to be with a disgraceful woman such as you."
I ignored her, I stopped at Bella and looked at her.
"Isabella... get away from her, you'll end up just as toxic and abusive as she is." I then ran upstairs and started packing my bags... eager to leave.
Flashback: OVER
I ran up the mountain and saw a glimpse of the fight, Victoria and Riley held Edward by the arms and neck. Bella stood there paralyzed in fear. I prayed that this plan would work, I tried creating that image of James again but instead... my body changed turning into him. I stood there for a second shocked before making my way up to them. Victoria froze in fear, Riley looked at her in confusion, and Bella and Edward didn't know what to think.
"J-james... how... how are you here? She isn't here is she?" Victoria asked.
I prayed my voice would've changed along with my appearance before I spoke.
"Who? Fleur... no no no, she's too busy dealing with the army you created with... this pipsqueak. I said, my voice was not of my own.
She dropped Edward, which in return made Edward throw off Riley who was then dragged away by a wolf... it seemed to be Seth.
"VICTORIA!" "VICTORIA HELP!"
Seth pulled him down the slope, I could still hear him scream on the way down. Edward just observed us, pulling Bella behind him again.
"James... you have to understand I did this for us, I thought you were dead. Why didn't you come and find me?"
"I did find you...but then I saw what you were doing, whoring yourself out there after you came back from Texas... persuading that man by kissing him the same way you kissed me. You're disgusting!"
"James no... please don't do this."
"You should know...we began this by me hunting you... you've always been my prey. And now..."
My voice switched back to my own.
"I will take you out the same way I intended to from the beginning."
Her eyes widened but before she could escape I snapped her neck, ripping her head off a few seconds later.
"Whoa..." I heard Bella say meekly.
Edward handed me a lighter he was carrying, I lit it and threw it on her body, it busted into flames. I saw Seth carrying Riley back up, he too was dead. I threw him in the fire too, making sure both of them were taken out.
"Fleur... Carlisle said you could make hallucinations... but you completely morphed into James." Edward said in shock.
"T-that's the first time I have ever done that..."
Before either of us could say anything Edward gasped.
"What is it?" Bella asked.
"Alice needs us to go...NOW!"

What I Thought About "Eda's Requiem" from The Owl House
Salutations, random people on the internet who certainly won’t read this! I am an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons.
...
...
...HOW IS SEASON TWO SO GOOD?! WE'VE HAD SEVEN EPISODES SO FAR, AND EACH ONE OF THEM WAS A HIT!
Take "Eda's Requiem," for example. It's yet another episode where I have NOTHING bad to say about it! That's two weeks in a row where that happened! HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!
HOW!
HOW!
...But anyways, "Eda's Requiem." It's another fantastic episode, and I'm about to dive into explaining how and why. Just keep in mind, it's gonna require spoilers to do so, so be wary of that as you keep reading.
Now, let's review, shall we?
WHAT I LIKED
Eda’s Checklist and Grom Photo: Within the first second, "Eda's Requiem" perfectly sets up Eda's central conflict in the episode. Despite spending years being on her own and looking after herself, she now has two kids that she's constantly caring over. Eda can try all she wants to say that she doesn't care, and I bet she has in the past. But given the hard work she's putting into getting King and Luz what they need and having a grom photo of the three of them together pinned in her mirror, it's pretty clear that those two knuckleheads wormed their way into her heart and are never getting out.
Eda’s Worried About King and Luz Leaving: And thus, that's precisely why something like this bothers her so much. Eda inadvertently adopted two rambunctious rapscallions (Yeah, I know. I'll get to it), so the idea of them not being around her anymore is going to be terrifying. That is a situation most parents, especially mothers, can identify with. It’s called empty nest syndrome and it proves just how much Eda loves Luz and King that she can't stand the thought of her babies leaving the nest. It's yet another well-made, wholesome, found-family moment that this series continues to excel at each week, making me extra excited for more like it to come...while also readying myself for heartbreak when one of them eventually does leave Eda.
Eda and Raine’s Music: Ok, I don't know the exact instruments that were played during this episode, but I also don't care because it was all (for lack of a better term) music to my ears. Every time Eda and Raine played resulted in melodies that are so beautiful and filled with so much emotion and feeling that I'm honestly tempted to listen to them again, multiple times, on repeat. Shows rarely do that for me, as background music doesn't always draw me in as much as lyrical songs do. Usually, it takes something so extraordinarily composed to give me the desire to listen again, and that's the case here. So huge congrats to Brad Breek for doing so. Seriously, the man's been killing it this season.
Eda’s Bard Magic Causing Things to Turn to Ash: This was assuredly a surprise side-effect of the curse. The fact that Eda can sort of do magic at all was its own shock. To then reveal that a specific type can do dangerous things to people and environments is...Well, it definitely brings up its own fair share of questions. Like, how can she do this? Will she do it again, one day? And are there other types of spells that can be negatively affected by Eda's curse? We don't get answers for any of these questions, and odds are, we never will. But that's alright with me. Because if a show makes me consider these many possibilities after a brief amount of time, it is a show that has to be doing something right. Even if I don't get the answers I want, the fact that it caused such a reaction makes me less willing to care.
Raine Whispers: Hey, would you look at that. Another fun, interesting, and compelling character added to the list of this shows' other fun, interesting, and compelling characters...how is this series so good at this!?
Joking aside, Raine's pretty good. I like Raine. They could have been this super serious leader who lost all their fun after years apart from Eda, but I'm glad that they're not. There are moments when Raine takes their job as leader of the BATs seriously, as one would, but I still prefer the fact that they kept a jovial nature despite how grim their situation is. It's an admirable trait to have, and it avoids the trope of making leader characters boring just because they're the ones who have to take things seriously.
Oh, and also, Raine's Disney's first non-binary character who has a stake in the plot. This is a tremendous deal, as you don't usually see that many non-binary characters in children's animation, let alone ones that hold importance to the story. So it's pretty cool for the writers to feature Raine, as it helps several kids feel as though they're finally seen and respected. And the fact that Disney of all companies gave the thumbs up is even more impressive. I hear people say that Dana Terrace should have pitched The Owl House to more progressive networks to avoid pushback, and while I absolutely see your point, I'll have to respectfully disagree. Disney is the largest entertainment industry of all time, so if you want to make LGBTQA+ representation normalized, you gotta stop making splashes and start making waves. Because if the same company that made three racist cats in the span of a few years manages to say that being gay is a-ok, then you know there's something wrong with you. Yes, Disney ended up screwing over the show anyway. But for that one moment, when kids felt pride after seeing a character like Raine, then, in the end, it's kind of worth it.
Also, if you're still having issues with more representation like this popping up in kids' shows, then allow me to redirect you to the complaint department.
...I made that post earlier today for this bit. YOU HAVE BETTER APPRECIATED IT!
Day of Unity is meant to be a Secret: At least, that's what I got when Raine stumbled over their own words. So if it's true, then I wonder why? Why does Belos want to keep the most critical change in the Boiling Isles a secret? Does he want to make it a surprise for his grateful subjects, or does he not want to spread worry and fear amongst the wild witches? It has to be something big if he doesn't want his followers to even say the words "Day of Unity." Whatever reason he has, we most likely won't know until the future. A future that I grow more and more afraid of each week.
Hooty Eating Echo Mouse: My heart sank in that brief moment when I thought that Hooty intensely screwed Luz over in getting back home. But looking back...it is pretty funny.
Just the suddenness of Hooty eating the poor creature that Luz desperately tried to earn its trust is priceless in how shocking it was. And also, Luz's expression.
Tumblr media
That was the look of a young girl who immediately shoved her hand down an owl demon's throat the second the scene cut away. The Owl House may not always be a hit in the comedy department, but scenes like this prove that when it's funny, it is hilarious.
Luz and King Entering the Grand Prix: Not much to discuss here. It's just a cute subplot that adds frivolity to the intensity of what's going on through Eda and Raine's story. But I will say that I love how both stories occasionally interconnect with each other through the many moments of Eda being worried about King wanting to leave to find his father and avoiding any conversation about it. It helps both plotlines feel like they belong together, without being something like "Through the Looking Glass Ruins," whereas both stories could have been in their own episode. Which is neat.
How Bard Magic Works: I really love how this season is diving into how the other magic types work. More specifically, the ones that seem a little vague. I mean, stuff like healing, potions, and plants are easy to figure out, but what does it mean when a witch's talents are construction, beast keeping, and bard magic? We've been getting a lot of clearing up lately, with bard magic looking like a witch can control their environments and enemies through the power of music. Which is fair. Music is pretty powerful in the metaphorical sense, and I actually love that it's powerful in the literal sense when in the Boiling Isles.
The BATs: Not much to comment on these three either. The BATs have the potential to have an entertaining dynamic, but they do very little in this episode that I can't say much other than I hope they make a return in the future. But I will make this claim: Amber is my favorite. I'm sorry, but her screaming "You're not our mom!" to then go, "Bye, mommy Eda" is just too precious for me not to love.
I'm a simple man who falls for cute s**t. Leave me alone.
Raeda (RainexEda): Well, EdaxCamila, you were a fun crack ship while it lasted, but I'm afraid that this is now goodbye. The current canon has provided an incredibly adorable and believable relationship that I would be a monster not to support with my whole bi-heart. It's been real.
Ok, back in serious mode: I love these two together. Eda and Raine are grown-ups, and they still act all flustered near each other as if they were still Luz and Amity's age. It's definitive proof that you're never too old to get flustered near a crush, and seeing them interact adds a sense of wholesomeness when seeing them together as well as heartbreak when they're forced apart. Plus, we get confirmation that Eda's LGBTQA+! Whether she's bi, pan, or whatever, now that we know Eda can catch feelings for someone like Raine, it's yet another case that The Owl House is the most important series to the community. Because having the main character be queer is fantastic in its own right. But having the same apply to the motherly mentor figure? That's is an extra bit of normalization that anybody would be willing to appreciate.
Unique Guard Designs: Not many fans are going to appreciate this, primarily compared to everything else this episode does perfectly. For me, I actually like that you see a few Coven Guards looking differently from the others, as it helps make them less like clones and makes it seem like anybody of any body type could be a part of the coven.
Gus Looking Uninterested when Presenting Grand Prix with his Dad: I am positive that you didn't notice this (I didn't even notice it until someone else pointed it out), but there's something to dissect here. It hints that perhaps Gus isn't as interested in his father's field of work as one might think. If he did, he would look a lot less bored and much more excited to be helping Perry Porter present the race. It could just be the race itself, but judging from Gus' expression, it really seems like the kid would prefer to be anywhere but there. And why would he have that reaction to a race that his best friend is competing in? To me, this seems like an inkling of what Gus' relationship with Perry could be, which may not actually get time to shine, what with how little wiggle room the series has now (Thanks Disney). Regardless, it is interesting to notice, and it will certainly have fans thinking for a while.
Bump Being Smug of Luz Being in the Lead: That's it. Principal Bump looking smug as his human student is beating the students of his rivals is yet another moment that proves why Bump is easily the best cartoon principal.
Darius: First of all, this guy is f**king fabulous, and I love him. *Snaps*
Second, he is definitive proof that you do NOT want to f**k around with Coven Leaders. Lilith may have had her intimidating moments, but none of them compare to the guy who can turn himself into an abomination monster where only magic that hasn't existed before can take him down. It's genuinely scary to see Darius lose control, and I fear for the day when Luz inevitably ends up in his crosshairs.
With that said, Darius' still a ton of fun! He may be threatening, but he's just a flamboyant guy that hates the idea of getting his outfit the tiniest bit dirty. And I love that. I love that these Coven Heads have actual personalities instead of being generically evil. I consider it preferable to make villains entertaining rather than blatantly scary as I'll remember the personalities first and the villainous acts last.
Eberwolf: But this one's my favorite. I told you: I'm a simple man who gets easily swayed by cute s**t. And Eber? I mean, just look at her:
Tumblr media
She's just a cute widdle rascal! I just want to pinch her cheeks, give her a belly rub, and--
Tumblr media
...Eberwolf is not a cute widdle rascal. She is a strong, independent woman, and I will respect her as such from this moment forward...lest I feel her wrath.
That is all. Let's move on.
Eda and Raine Attempting a Final Performance: This was the best scene of the episode. It looked gorgeous, it shows the dedication Eda and Raine have for stopping Belos, and it says so much through so little. Go back and look at how Eda and Raine regard one another when performing Eda's requiem. Through their expressions and a few short words, you know they understand that if they complete the song/spell, they probably won't make it in the end. And yet, they don't care. They both know bad stuff will happen if Belos wins, so Eda and Raine put everything to the side, both their feelings for one another and the people they leave behind if it means putting an end to a tyrant. That level of dedication...Words can't fully describe how powerful that is.
Raine Sacrificing Themselves Instead: But in the end, Raine can't do it. Not when they know the life that Eda has and the people she'll be leaving behind. It's an extra bit of nobleness to the character seeing that Raine refuses to take away a woman from two kids who need her the most. A tad bit selfish, sure, knowing what Belos has planned. But when it comes to love, the romantic, familial, or platonic, the best decisions aren't always the logical ones.
Eda Crying: Luz crying tears me up, but seeing Eda cry is a whole different level of heartbreak. Like Lilith, Eda has her emotions locked up tight, with the closest she came to weeping were those two tears in "Young Blood, Old Souls." In "Eda's Requiem," she cries but almost quickly stops herself. As if she knows that doing so isn't going to save Raine. That is...even worse than seeing Luz break down after losing Eda. The fact that Eda refuses to give herself time to mourn losing someone she loved is tragic because crying is the most natural way of showing grief. Turning that off isn't healthy, and seeing her do it with little resistance is sad to me. It's sad to see a character I love can easily shut off all emotions despite how badly she may want to embrace them. It's one of those moments that, again, by doing so little, it shows so much.
“No one watches Crystal Balls anymore. It’s all about streaming.”: Oof. Even I felt that burn towards cable.
King’s Message: King's message was the pick-me-up I needed after the heart-wrenching sadness this episode put me through a few minutes ago. Seeing King say who he is and listing all the things he loves is nothing short of adorable. On top of that, I adore that Eda willingly recorded the whole thing. She may not want King to leave, but that doesn't mean she'll sabotage the one thing he wants. Especially not after Raine gave up everything so Eda could be with her kids. The opening scene may prove how much Eda cares about a rascal like King, but this heartwarmingly sweet moment reveals just how far she'll go to make him happy.
King’s Dad Reveal: ...ok, I'll be honest, I did not think we'd get that reveal this soon. Dumb of me to say, considering the number of times I've said that these writers don't waste time getting to the s**t, I know. But still, it's pretty cool knowing that King's dad is alive and well, added with the fact that we've got a fair idea of what he looks like. At this point, it's only a matter of time before we see him figure out where the Clawthorne residence is and witness the tear-jerking moments that will follow.
King Changing his Name to King Clawthorne: Not the official adoption I was expecting Eda to make...but DANG IT, is it still diabetes-inducing levels of sweetness!
Personally, I feel like the main reason why Eda breaks down this time is not only because she shouldn't be worried about King leaving her life, but also because Raine's sacrifice wasn't in vain. Her kids really do need Eda because no matter how far apart they'll be, she will always be a part of their life...dang it, I'm going to cry too!
What those Coven patches really do: Well...that was horrifying to see.
...Writers, if you kill off the best non-binary character in animation (it's a short list, I know), we are going to have PROBLEMS!
IN CONCLUSION
"Eda's Requiem" is--surprise surprise--another A+. The emotions hit hard, the representation hits harder, Raine is a fantastic addition to the cast, and it was all surprisingly cute at times. Season Two is currently on a hot streak, constantly winning with every episode that's come out so far. When a bad episode does eventually show up (IT'S GONNA HAPPEN!), I'll be sure to sing my requiem then. For now, I'm just gonna enjoy the ride.

'You're Mine' Demon!Oikawa x Princess!Reader [Chapter 1]
Genre: Smut, Fluff, Breeding Kink, Size Kink, Over stimulation, Manipulation
This Chapter doesn't have Smut yet. Though I'll only continue this if someone asks for more. I don't wanna write something nobody wants to read.
Tumblr media
It was a Dangerous World that they lived in, they all knew that. But despite the Danger that lurked around every corner, behind ever door; [F/N] [L/N], the Princess of Haikaru remained Innocent.
She had never crossed paths with Danger, had never experienced what it was like to lose something dear. The People of Haikaru purposely protected and shielded the Princess off from any sort of Darkness. She was their light, a light that they swore to Protect.
But of course, protecting her came with a major set back. Their walls less guarded from the Demons that lurked the night. But enough to keep them out. Well, most of them.
"Send him to the Dungeons, keep him out of sight and Lock him up as much as possible." The King, ordered his men.
"Yes, Sir." They voiced with a salute. "Move on your feet you Wretched Demon." One of the Soldiers kicked the said Demon, causing him to snarl out of annoyance.
"Now that's just rude." The horned Male barked out, his fangs showing.
"Move."
"Fine, fine~"
The Group of Guards surrounded the Demon, leading him slowly towards the entrance of the dungeons.
"Get in." One of them opened the door, shoving the Evil Entity inside. Soon after they entered as well, making sure to chain the Cyan Horned Man against the Single Wooden Pole. "This should keep you in place, Oikawa Tōru."
"Oh my, so you do know my Name? I'm quite flattered. Am I perhaps famous around here?"
"In your case yes. Yes you are. We've heard of what you've done to Humans like us. Demons should be banished, specifically a Demon as awful as you" And that was it, the last thing that the Group of Mortals said to the Beast. Leaving him alone in the empty open space, where only the chains that dug through his skin lay.
Oikawa moved his Left Arm slightly, hoping to snap the chains off with a bit of Magic. Only to be met by a sharp pain striking all throughout his body.
"Now, I wouldn't do that if I were you. These chains? They were made to keep Demons like you in place. To keep you from causing anymore trouble than you already have." The Royal turned on his heel. "You deserve to be treated like this."
Tumblr media
"Dad, what's in there?" [F/N] pointed towards the cellar, where 2 Guards stood against.
"My sweet Princess, there is no need to be curious about what is within the door. You must avoid that place, for you are not safe there." Her Father replied, patting her head softly while a smile.
"Alright Father" She nodded her head slowly, yet curiosity still lingered inside her thoughts.
Eventually when night began to fall, [F/N] snuck out of her Room. Descending down the nice tiled stairs to approach her destination. She made sure to avoid the soldiers who were put on nightly duty.
Peeking around the corner, she spotted the two guards who were put to stay in front of the door. To her luck, they've fallen asleep. And was on the floor crouching.
[F/N] approached the two, giving them a slight poke to make sure that they are indeed asleep before taking what seems to be the key to the room.
As soon as she unlocked the door, she pushed it open. Making sure that she wouldn't make a single sound in the progress.
From what her Father had said before, this place was dangerous. Yet as soon as she stepped into the so called 'dangerous' room. She wasn't expecting to be met by a Handsome man, straddled with chains around his body. His arms had burns including his neck.
Without much hesitation she shut the door behind her slowly and approached the stranger. "Oh my God..- Are you alright?"
The man slowly opened his eyes, lifting his chin up to meet [E/C] orbs. Oikawa's eyes slightly widened, the scent of the most purest mortal he has ever smelled rushed through his nostrils. Instinctively, he leaned forward, causing the chains to burn his arms a tad bit more. Tōru grunted from the pain, and was unable to Heal himself unless they were off.
He was expecting her to run, to scream as soon as she saw his horns. But what he didn't expect, was her leaning in to slightly brush her finger against them. "What.. What are these? They're so cool"
Oh my, he wasn't expecting any of this at all. His lips quirked up into a devilish smirk, his eyes darkened with the thought of how innocent this little Mortal was. He often went out to many Villages to capture, and redeem souls. Hunted and killed Mortals who stood in his way to feast on their Flesh. But not only does he feed off of flesh, he also feeds off of arousal.
And here he was, chained to the floor with a full course buffet standing before him, offering her concern and curiosity. He could capture her, take her back to the underworld where he will make her his. His to love, his to cherish, and his to claim. "They're my Horns [F/N], you like them?"
[F/N] nodded slowly, she didn't question the Horned man how he knew what her name was. Instead, she maneuvered her way over to the source of the chains, quickly disengaging them.
"What.. The.. -" Tōru felt the chains loosen around him, his eyes darting over to the Precious Girl he sought to claim. "Why.. Why did you do that?" He questioned.
"You seem like a good Demon so.. I thought.. Maybe my Father was wrong about you. Plus um.. It looked like the chains were preventing you from talking properly without wincing in pain"
'She truly is innocent. Fuck, I want her even more now' he stood up, brushing the dust off his legs before completely healing his wounds. "Is that so? You're quite an observant little thing aren't you? But have you ever heard of a Good Demon?"
[F/N] shook her head. "No, I've never even met one up until now"
'Seriously? They were trying to protect her from us? How pathetic, yet rewarding..'
"Oh, well the pleasure's all mine little one. I am Tōru Oikawa. Don't bother telling me your Name." He walked closer, expecting her to back away in fear that she had made the wrong choice. But once again he was proven wrong when she didn't move at all. Instead her eyes remained staring back into his. "How can I repay you Princess..~?"
"Become my Friend"
Oikawa was stunned, his mouth ajar as his eyes grew. "Excuse me? Could you, perhaps-- I don't know--- Repeat that?"
"I said.. Become my.. Friend. My Father doesn't let me go out of the Castle walls, and I don't really have Friends here. I mean I do get along with the people around here but they never really showed interest in trying to get to know me"
"I see.. So you want me, the King of the Underworld, to become your Friend?" Without much of a reply, [F/N] nodded her head vigorously.
"Alright then, I'll be your Friend Little One. I'll make sure to visit you once in a while in your room." Oikawa leaned forward and planted a kiss on her forehead. "Make sure to not tell anyone with our little Meet ups alright?"
"I won't, I promise.." [F/N]'s cheeks reddened a bit, not expecting to get a kiss on the forehead by the King of the Underworld himself.
But what she didn't know, was that the kiss contained more than just a Thank You. It was a way to tell the other Demons similar to him to back off as soon as they smelled her essence. With the invisible pendant forming on her forehead only for demons to admire, she was practically untouchable.
Days passed with Oikawa constantly visiting [F/N] in secret. Their Friendship growing into a much more passionate one. The lingering touches he dreamt of doing to her were kept at bay, fearing that he might ruin his only chance to claim her.
"Tōru?" [F/N] called out in a soft voice, she nudged her Demon friend on the shoulder a bit.
"Huh" His eyes widened slightly, being snapped out of his thoughts. "What is it?"
"You've been thinking for a while. What has you troubled?"
"Nothing, nothing at all." He slowly lets out a long, low sigh as he feels his hair through his fingers.
"Well, if you say s-"
A sudden knock came from the door, capturing both Tōru's and [F/N]'s attention. Her eyes widened in panic as she quickly got up, ushering Oikawa to leave before he was seen.
"Yes? I'm here!" She replied, her voice was soft and timid compared to her usual out going self.
"Is something wrong?" The knight asked from behind the door. "Your Father sent me here to accompany you. Apparently you've been more distant lately, spending most of your time in your room.. Is there.. Anything I could do to help?"
[F/N] slowly opened the door, peaking through to see who it was. And to her surprise, it was Iwaizumi Hajime. a Friend of hers from a far away village. The only Friend that her Father allowed to blossom. "H-Hajime-"
"I know, it's been a while hasn't it? [F/N]." He smiled ever so softly before staring back at the door that kept him from slinging his arms around her. "Mind if I get in?"
"Not at a- eep!" She stilled, feeling a pair of hands rest on either side of her waist. Slowly moving down to her core. She turned to look at Tōru who had a shit eating grin, obviously proud of the reaction he got from you. "Tōru.. Not now.. What are you doing.. -"
"Is someone there with you?" Iwaizumi asked with a concerned look on his face.
"N-NO- No, I was just startled. You haven't been in my room for.. Over 6 years y'know, and it's kind of overwhelming"
"R-Right... You're making me feel old [F/N]"
"That's because you are, blehhh" Hajime chuckled, forcefully pushing the door open with his strong arms.
"Alright, that's it you little trouble maker. I'm coming in whether you like it or not"
"NO- WAIT N-" She quickly turned to look at Tōru, but was met with an empty room. No trace of him but her bed and along with her other furniture.
Iwaizumi stepped in the room, chuckling at her childish actions. "You seriously can't be that embarrassed with me being here, are you?"
"Kind of... But um, apart from that. How's your Village? Everything alright?"
"Everything's been normal. Not to mention the Grand King hasn't visited us for over a week. It's quite a relief, yet terrifying." He walked further into the room, taking his helmet off with a Huff.
"I wonder why.." [F/N] mumbled out softly. Of course she knew why, she was the reason that Oikawa has been rarely seen out and about. He's always hanging out in her room, chatting, and laughing with her as if he wasn't some demonic entity. But at the end of the day, he's still the King of the Underworld. "How long are you gonna stay here for? Not that I want you to leave or anything"
"Maybe for a couple of days. You know, until you brighten up a bit."
"Haji, I'm okay I promise."
"You Promise?"
"Pinky Promise"
Hajime stared straight into her eyes with concern, but eventually sighed. "Fine, but if your Dad yells at me for not cheering you up? You're so in for it."
"Pfft, yeah, yeah" She quickly plopped herself beside Iwaizumi, slinging her arms around him with a cheerful smile. "I missed you"
He stuttered out a small 'Thank you' before wrapping his arms around her waist. His cheeks were painted pink as he dipped his head against her shoulder.
Little did the two know, a certain horned man was watching them, anger flowing all throughout his body as his fists clenched. She was supposed to be his, not that porcupines woman.

N I N E  - Post-Breakup Stage
* - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - *
Y/N had never had friends before. At least no friends that were anything like the Losers Club. So when the group split up, Y/N took it pretty hard. She began to fall back into old habits and the girl who had first arrived to Derry at the beginning of the summer was back and maybe even worse than before.
Her smile was mostly non existent, the light gone from her eyes. She rarely talked, only ever speaking to her cousin when needed, and often spent her days silently bird watching in the backyard with Stan while the two tried to ignore the loneliness that was slowly creeping over them.
All she could think about were the Losers and how much she missed them. Mike, Ben, Beverly, Richie, Eddie, Bill. . .she missed them all.
The only person keeping her from falling into the darkness was her cousin. Stan was her best friend for a reason and maybe that's why things weren't as bad as they would've been if the two were to split up as well. They were each other's wall that kept the other from falling apart before their very eyes.
They stayed by each other's side as the days began to creep by. Stan helped keep Y/N's mind off of the Losers and her parents while Y/N helped distract her cousin by rehearsing his lines with him. It was a system that allowed both of them to forget the pain they were going through. But it was those times during the day, when the two were alone and away from each other, that the two were left to their own thoughts.
Having each other was enough to keep them going, but without the Losers by their side, it all just felt sort of meaningless.
Y/N wouldn't admit it, but she missed Bill the most. All she could see when she closed her eyes was the heartbroken look on his face as she had left. But how could she have stayed? She didn't want to be killed or worse get someone else killed in the process. Leaving had seemed like the only logical thing to do, but she didn't realize how losing her friends would hurt more than anything the clown threw at her.
At that thought, Y/N glanced down at her calf which was almost completely healed by now. Only a few scabs were left over from the scratch marks It had given her, but it was obvious there were going to be a few scars left over. The realization that It had made marks on her body that would last a while made Y/N feel sick, so she was quick to look away and pulled on her dress nervously instead.
Today was the big day in which Stanley Uris was supposed to 'become a man.' Y/N and Stan were still not quite sure what that was supposed to mean, but it was obviously important by the size of the crowd that was slowly shuffling their way into the synagogue that warm summer day.
Stan had left with his father about an hour before Y/N left with her aunt, so Y/N was left alone once they got inside while her aunt mingled with the guests before the ceremony was to start. The h/c girl let out a soft sigh as she looked around at the people around her, hoping to maybe see a familiar face.
As if someone had heard her prayers, Y/N suddenly caught sight of a pair of very familiar glasses and it was like her breath caught in her throat once the person's gaze locked with her own.
Richie Tozier let out an audible gasp as the people between him and Y/N moved out of the way, leaving the two standing in front of each other. They hadn't seen each other for a while now and it was obvious neither of them knew what to say. Both of them had left with the same opinion in mind, but the group splitting up meant that Y/N and Stan hadn't even talked to Richie since the big fight.
All Y/N and Richie could do was stare at each other, an awkward silence filling the air around them. Richie coughed awkwardly and pushed his glasses up his nose, but just when he went to open his mouth and say something, Y/N launched forward and wrapped her arms around the boy.
Richie stumbled back slightly and had to gain his balance once again before he looked down to find Y/N hugging him tightly with her head resting against his shoulder. Richie stiffened almost immediately before he swallowed thickly and muttered, "What the hell, Uris?"
Y/N could hear the slight shake in his voice and smiled sadly as she let out a breathy chuckle. "Calm the fuck down and just hug me back, Tozier," she whispered. "You and I could both use one right now."
Richie went silent at that and Y/N merely hugged him a little tighter, knowing that the boy wanted a hug just as desperately as her. He could try and deny it as much as he wanted, but Y/N had always been able to read him and Richie knew that.
There was another moment of silence before Y/N finally felt Richie's arms wrap around her, hugging her just as tight if not tighter than she was him. He tucked the girl's shoulder under his chin and leaned into her embrace more as he held her like he was afraid she would leave him again. His breath was shaky as he held onto her and Y/N had to blink her eyes a few time just to keep tears from coming.
For it was in that moment that the two finally felt a small feeling of relief wash over them after the hell they had been through since the fight. Even if the whole group hadn't made up yet, at least they were on their way and if that meant just the two of them making up at the moment then so be it. It was better than being alone.
The two didn't pull away until everyone was starting to take their seats and even then the two stayed by each other's side, sitting by each other in one of the many rows of the synagogue as they watched Stan walk up to the microphone.
Stan looked around for a minute as if he were looking for someone and it was only when he caught sight of Y/N and Richie that he paused. His eyes stared at Richie like a deer caught in headlights, but the moment Richie sent the curly haired boy a small smile and a thumbs up Stan instantly relaxed.
Stan's eyes then flickered over to his cousin and the reassuring smile she gave him was enough to have the boy smiling softly back before he gained the courage to begin his readings. Richie and Y/N were silent as they listened to the boy speak and both of them secretly fist bumped each other once Stan had finished without mispronouncing a single word.
"Reflecting on the meaning of what I just read," Stan began, gulping slightly as all eyes suddenly turned to him. "The word 'shana' comes up alot. Which means. . .uhm. . .to change, to transform. Which makes sense I guess, because today I'm supposed to become a man."
Stan hesitated for a moment and his eyes flickered over to lock with Y/N's. The girl gave him a questioning look, already recognizing the look in his eyes that said something was wrong.
Stan had to look away and he took in a shaky breath before saying, "It's funny though. Everyone, I think, has some memories they're prouder of more than others, right? And maybe that's why change is so scary."
That was enough to make Y/N still while Richie looked to her confused. Y/N merely shrugged and the two looked back to Stan who was looking around the room as if he were seeing everyone for the first time.
"Cause the things we wish we could leave behind, the whispers we wish we could silence, the nightmares we most wanna wake up from, the memories we wish we could change, secrets we feel that we have to keep, are the hardest to walk away from," Stan said and it was only then that he looked back over at his cousin, his eyes staying locked with hers and he continued to speak.
"The good stuff, the pictures in our mind that fade away the fastest, those pieces of you it feels the easiest to lose. Maybe, I don't want to forget. Maybe, if that's what today's all about, forget it, right?" Stan whispered, his eyebrows furrowed together as if he were coming to a realization and it seemed like Y/N and everyone else in the room was hanging onto every word.
Everyone except for his father.
"Thank you, Stanley," Mr. Uris said as he went to grab for the microphone, but Stan was quick and moved away from his father.
"Uh, uh, today I'm supposed to become a man but I don't. . .I don't feel any different," Stan continued as he walked away from his father who was trying to walk after him. But then Stan was suddenly stopping and he turned to look at his father with a look in his eyes that made Y/N raise her eyebrows in surprise.
"I know I'm a loser," Stan announced, his words making even his father stop. "And no matter what, I always fucking will be."
A loud gasp filled the air as Stan dropped the microphone and walked out of the room. Everyone stared after the boy in pure shock while Richie began to clap and cheer. As for Y/N, she couldn't help but burst out laughing and yell out in pure pride, "That's my cousin!"
Richie's mother was quick to hush her son while Mrs. Uris sent a small glare in Y/N's direction, but both of the kids merely shared a look before getting up from their seats and running out of the synagogue before anyone could stop them.
"Holy shit, Stan the Man!" Richie cried out as him and Y/N began to jog after Stan who was pacing around in the front yard. Stan looked up at that and he visibly relaxed at the sight of his friends before he was tackled in a hug by Y/N.
"I'm so proud of you," Y/N whispered as she squeezed the boy tight. Stan smiled at that and hugged her back just as tight before his eyes flickered over to Richie.
The cousins slowly pulled away from each other and Stan and Richie both stared at each other before smiling softly. "We good?" Stan questioned as he nervously put his hands into his pockets.
"We're good," Richie assured him with a nod while Y/N looked between the two boys with a warm smile on her face. "I cannot believe you fucking did that, Stanley. You should've seen their faces!" Richie exclaimed before dying with laughter, Y/N quickly joining in while Stan blushed.
"My father's going to kill me when I get home," Stan muttered out with a breathy laugh.
"Then let's not go home," Y/N suggested causing both boys to look to her. "At least not yet anyways. You're already in trouble, why not have some fun before we go back?"
"That's the best idea you've ever had, darlin'" Richie laughed as he wrapped an arm around the girl's shoulder and turned to look at Stan. "Come on, Stan the Man. We can go to the arcade or something."
Stan was silent as he let his calculating eyes flicker in between Richie and Y/N. But Y/N knew he was only pretending to think about it. After all, her and her cousin were similar in numerous ways and she knew how much they had both been yearning to hang out with at least one of their friends.
"Fine," Stan said as he let out a dramatic sigh that had Richie and Y/N both rolling their eyes with small smiles on their faces.
That was how the three ended up at the Derry arcade not too long after that. None of them had brought their bikes since they had come with their families, so the three had to walk all the way there in their dressy clothes. Richie complained nonstop, but it didn't take much for the Uris cousins to figure out that he was only doing it to hide his excitement about getting to hang out with them.
Y/N had only been to an arcade a few times in her lifetime, each of them being in the Derry arcade during the summers she would spend there. It was Richie's favorite place to go and Y/N still remembered the first time he had introduced her to Streetfighter, his favorite game. The two had played that game endlessly it had felt like and it didn't take long for the two to fall back into their old habits, the two friends trash talking each other as they tried to beat each other.
"Yes! Take that, Uris!" Richie yelled as he not only beat her, but the high score of the whole game as well. Y/N rolled her eyes, but couldn't stop the small smile beginning to play on her lips.
"You just got lucky," Y/N tried to say, but Richie only scoffed and gave her a look. "Okay, fine. You win," she sighed earning a smirk from Richie before the boy judged her playfully with his elbow.
Y/N smiled at the boy while Stan watched the two fondly. "Okay, my turn," Stan announced as he walked over to the console, Richie instantly by his side.
He began playing and before she knew it, Richie was yelling at the curly haired boy what he needed to do while Stan was yelling back at Richie to just shut up. It was enough to make Y/N laugh and she couldn't help but think about how much her mood had changed just by being able to be with one of her friends again.
This was the happiest she had felt since the argument and for a moment she seemed to forget about everything that was going on.
Y/N began to look around the arcade to see if she could find another game they could play later, but found herself looking out the window. She smiled softly as she watched the people all walking by, some of them laughing and smiling while others conversed with their friends. Y/N didn't even realize she had walked up to the window until her hand was pressing against the cool glass.
A feeling of calm washed over her as she watched the town of Derry go about their lives, the sound of the arcade and her cousin and Richie's bickering in the background.
Something then flashed at her eyes and Y/N grimaced before blinking a few times only to find that the sun had reflected off a silver bike and into her eyes. However, the light was quickly forgotten as soon as she read the word 'Silver' written across the bike, her smile being replaced with a look of pure shock as her eyes flickered up to lock on the person on the bike—Bill Denbrough.
Her breath hitched in her throat at the sight of the boy, his hair gently blowing in the wind while he leaned his head back ever so slightly to enjoy the sun's warmth and the gentle breeze. He was perfect just like always and Y/N swore her heart skipped a beat just at the sight of him.
She watched as the boy suddenly sat up straight and, as of sensing her gaze, his eyes flickered over to the window as he began to ride past it. His eyes widened ever so slightly and his jaw dropped open a little as their eyes locked.
It was like a scene from one of those movies where time stood still. A million words were spoken just through that one glance and Y/N felt a sudden sadness wash over her as she was reminded of the heartbroken look Bill had given her as she walked away.
Y/N had to quickly look away, ignoring the furious beating of her heart and the sickening feeling in her stomach. She waited a moment before looking out the window again and watching as Bill rose down the rest of the street, his head hanging a bit lower than before. She frowned at the sight and the sickening feeling in her stomach only got worse.
All she wanted was to run out of the arcade and run after the boy, but she knew she couldn't. After the fight, after the way Bill had acted and after he had punched Richie, she didn't know what to expect. Would he even want to talk to her? Would he even care?
Y/N swallowed thickly as those thoughts began to swirl around in her head. Then, with a shaky breath, the girl turned around and walked back over to Stan and Richie who were complaining about the best strategy to use for the game.
She let her eyes flicker between Richie and Stan and tried to smile, but the happy feeling she had gotten earlier was gone. After all, she had just been reminded about all of the people who weren't with them. She was reminded of the fight and how most of the group was still all on their own. And the pain of the realization was enough to make her happiness disappear.
"Y/N?" Stan whispered causing the girl to snap out of her thoughts and look at the two boys who were watching her with a hint of concern in their eyes.
"You okay, Uris?" Richie questioned, tilting his head slightly.
Y/N blinked and gave the boys a forced smile as she nodded her head. "Yeah, of course. Why wouldn't I be?" she questioned. The two boys shared a look, but didn't get a chance to say anything before Y/N was gesturing towards the game.
"Come on. I want a rematch and there's no way in hell I'm letting you beat me again," Y/N said earning a loud laugh from Richie as she walked over to the console.
"Oh, you are so on, Uris," Richie laughed as he too took his place at the console.
Y/N smiled softly at that before her eyes caught sight of Stan giving her a look that asked if she was really okay. Y/N nodded ever so slightly but the look Stan gave her practically screamed that he didn't believe her. However, before Stan could question her, Y/N was already looking back at Richie was a smirk on her face.
"Loser has to buy the other whatever ice cream they want."
"Oh, you are so going down!"

August
Weeks passed and the Losers were still no where close to reuniting. Y/N had seen a few of her friends in passing, but the fight was still too fresh in their minds for any of them to talk to each other. Eddie was the only one Y/N hadn’t seen.
She had seen Mike from across the street and given him a smile and a wave, but he had only smiled at her sadly before walking in to a shop to make a delivery. She had been walking past the library when she caught sight of Ben sitting by a window, but the boy had only lowered his head sadly and focused on his book until she left.
Y/N had been walking out of a store with her aunt when she saw Beverly, but the red head had only given her the smallest of waves before disappearing around a corner. Then there were the few occasions she had seen Bill riding on his bike only for him to stare at her like it physically pained him to see her before he biked away as quick as possible.
Stan and Richie were the only reason Y/N hadn't gone spiraling down the rabbit hole. She spent almost every day hanging out with the two of them whether it be at the arcade or just biking around town. She was starting to do a little better now that she not only had Stan by her side but Richie as well. However, that sinking feeling of her stomach that came from missing the others never went away, especially when it came to Bill.
It wasn't until a couple of days after seeing Bill at the arcade that she had allowed herself to realize why she missed him so much. She liked Bill. She really liked him. And the realization of the fact only to remember that she now didn't even have him as a friend was enough to have her sobbing until Stan found her in her room. He had held her for what felt like hours after that while she just cried and Stan gave her the comfort she needed.
Y/N had confided in Stan about her crush after that and she had never seen her cousin so happy yet so upset at the same time. He was happy that she liked Bill, after all, he thought the two would be a perfect match. But then he saw his cousin's pain and it was like he felt it as well, his heart aching for the girl as he knew how much the fight with Bill must have affected her.
After that night, Y/N tried not to think about the Losers or Bill as much. It was hard, especially when she was alone. However, Richie and Stan helped her get by and before she knew it, it was August.
That meant she didn't have long before she would have to head home and Y/N hadn't realized how much she didn't want that to happen until it was slowly growing nearer with each passing day. Spending the summer with her cousin in Derry may have had some rocky moments, but it was also the happiest she had ever been in her whole life. She didn't want for it to end and she sure as hell didn't want to leave, so there were a few days at the beginning of August where she was a little quieter than usual and wanted to be left alone with her thoughts.
Stan didn't push it, knowing that the subject of her parents and her life back at home was a touchy topic for the girl. He and Richie had made it their sworn duty to make to rest of the summer the best Y/N had ever experienced and they hadn't been doing too bad so far.
In fact, Y/N was going to head down to the quarry with them that very afternoon. But before she could do that, the girl had promised her aunt that she would run to the pharmacy to pick up a few things that they had needed.
Stan had wanted to tag along, but his father was still upset about what had happened at his bar mitzvah, so Stan had to spend at least a couple of hours every day reading from the Torah. Wanting to go to the quarry later that day, Stan had decided it was best if he stayed home to read the Torah then rather than go to the pharmacy with Y/N.
Y/N didn't blame him and had taken the small list of things to get before making her way into town by herself. She hadn't been in the mood to ride Stan's bike, so the girl had resorted to walking, knowing that she didn't have to grab much anyways.
It took a little longer than riding a bike would, but Y/N didn't mind. She got to the pharmacy not that much later and went to open the door only for it to suddenly be thrown open and for someone to rush past her.
Y/N blinked in surprise and let her eyes flicker over to the person who she immediately recognized as Eddie. Her eyes widened at the sight of her friend, but she didn't have long to be shocked because she had caught sight of Eddie's distraught and completely red face as he struggled to hold back tears.
"Eddie?" Y/N questioned in a soft yet concerned voice as she hesitantly walked after the boy. She knew she probably shouldn't be talking to him, especially if his mother were to be around, but she frankly didn't care. If Eddie was upset, then whatever was his problem was now her problem whether his mother liked it or not.
Eddie froze at the sound of her voice and hesitated before slowly turning back around, his eyes widening slightly at the sight of her. "Y/N?" he whispered, his voice shaky as he quickly went to wipe his tears away with the arm that wasn't currently wrapped in a white cast.
"Eddie, what's-?" Y/N began, but she didn't even get a chance to finish what she was saying before Eddie had taken a few quick strides to hug the girl. Y/N blinked in surprise, but didn't hesitate to hug the boy back, squeezing her eyes shut as she held onto the boy who she hadn't even seen since that day at the Neibolt house.
Eddie was shaking as he hugged her, his one good hand balling into a fist around her shirt as he held her like he was afraid she would leave him. For a moment, it reminded Y/N of the hug Richie had given her, but this one was different not only because it was Eddie but because she could practically feel the emotions that were radiating off the boy.
Y/N frowned and pulled away to look at the boy, ignoring Eddie's confused face as she furrowed her eyebrows and wiped away his tears, whispering, "What's wrong, Eds?"
Eddie smiled ever so slightly at the nickname before lowering his head. He let out a pained laugh before whispering, "Oh, it's nothing." However, his eyes betrayed him by flickering down to his cast which Y/N finally was able to see well enough to notice the giant word 'Loser' that had been written in black marker across his cast.
Y/N frowned at the sight and looked back at Eddie who was looking at his cast sadly. With a sigh, Y/N reached out and pat Eddie's shouldn't before saying, "Wait right here, okay? I'll be right back."
Eddie's head shot up at that and he went to question her, but the girl had already turned and was walking into the pharmacy he had come out of only moments before. Eddie frowned slightly before looking back down at his cast, the guilt of what his mother had said to Y/N the last time they were together eating away at him and making him feel sick.
Y/N returned a couple of minutes later to find that Eddie hadn't even moved an inch from the spot she had left him in. She began to rummage through the bag she had as she walked over to the boy, pushing past the things her aunt had needed until finding the one item she had bought on her own.
Eddie could hear the rustling of the bag and glanced up in time to see Y/N pull out a red marker with a smile on her face. The boy furrowed his eyebrows, but Y/N was already gently grabbing his arm and dragging him over to the curb for them to sit down.
Eddie watched as she set her stuff down before the h/c girl turned to look at him with a shy smile on her face. She gestured towards his cast and whispered, "May I?"
Eddie didn't quite understand what she was doing, but he trusted her. He trusted her with his whole life in fact and he had ever since the day the two first met. So nodding his head was almost an automatic response, knowing she would never do anything to hurt him or make him upset.
Y/N smiled softly at that before gently picking up the boy's cast and moving his arm to rest in her lap. She pulled the cap off the red marker in her hands before she began to write on his cast, her tongue sticking out in concentration while Eddie observed her quietly.
He thought back to when he was younger and how, for a whole summer, he had the biggest crush on the girl that sat before him today. She was just so kind to him and made him feel happier than most people did, not to mention she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.
It wasn't really a surprise when he ended up having a crush on her, but it took a school year away from her and seeing her the next summer to know that his feelings had changed. Y/N was nothing more than a sister to him and he knew that Y/N felt the same way. The love they had for each other was strictly platonic and always would be.
And in that moment, Eddie wished he had been lucky enough to have been given a sister like Y/N. But it only took him a moment more to realize that although they may not actually be related, he had been given a Y/N as his sister and he would forever be grateful for that.
"There," Y/N smiled as she looked to Eddie and showed him his cast. The boy looked down and couldn't help but smile at the sight. She had taken the word 'Loser' and corrected it with the red marker so that it now read 'Lover,' something that made Eddie blush and let out a breathy chuckle.
His eyes flickered up to look at the girl and he stared at her for a moment before smiling and whispering, "Thank you.”
Y/N merely smiled in response before asking, "Is it okay if I sign it?"
Eddie was a little hesitant to say yes, but he couldn't help himself when his smile grew just a tiny bit. He instantly nodded his head and Y/N grinned before gently taking ahold of his arm once again and neatly writing her name across the white cast, knowing that the boy would want his cast to look as nice and clean as possible.
Once she was done, the girl put the cap back on her marker and shoved it into her bag before looking to Eddie who was already watching her with an unreadable expression on his face. "What?" Y/N questioned curiously as she tilted her head at the boy.
"I'm sorry," Eddie suddenly blurted out making Y/N blink in surprise. "What my mother said was not cool and none of it was true. And I’m just. . .I'm so sorry she said those things to you."
Eddie looked down at his cast and rubbed a thumb over the girl's signature before frowning and whispering, "I really hope you don't hate me for it."
Y/N blinked once before giving the boy a surprised look. "I could never hate you for something that your mother did," Y/N assured the boy as she wrapped an arm around him and rested her head against his shoulder. Eddie leaned into her touch and let his head rest against her own as the two sat there on the curb together.
"Your mother can try and stop us all she wants, but we're still going to be friends no matter what she says," Y/N whispered making the boy crack a smile at that.
Eddie reached his hand over and placed it on top of Y/N's before giving it a small squeeze. "I've missed you," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
Y/N smiled warmly and held the boy a little tighter as she whispered back, "I've missed you too, Eddie."
A beeping from Eddie's watch was enough to make him snap back to reality, a panicked look on his face as he muttered, "Fuck." Eddie was quick to pull away from Y/N and stood up before wiping the dust from his pants. "I'm sorry, but I've really got to go. If I don't get home soon, my mom is going to go batshit crazy."
Y/N let out a chuckle and accepted the hand Eddie held out to her before he helped her into her feet. "No, I get it. You get home safely, okay?" she said as she smiled at the boy.
Eddie stared at her for a second before quickly reaching out and pulling her in for one last hug, relishing in the feeling of having the girl by his side once again after a torturous and lonely few weeks.
"Bye, Eds," Y/N whispered as she hugged the boy back and for a moment Eddie wanted nothing more than to have a mother who wasn't so overbearing so that he could stay with Y/N for a little bit longer.
He pulled away and let his eyes flicker over the girl's face one last time before giving her a soft smile, "Bye, Y/N."
Eddie then turned on his heels and began on his way back home while Y/N watched after him until he had turned the corner. With a small sigh, the girl bent down and picked her bag back up before beginning the long walk back home to where Stan would no doubt be waiting for her return.
Although this time, she felt a little less alone than before and that was enough to put a small smile on her face.

The war is over, my love is not
The second part of a fic about Crowley and Aziraphale during World War II, the first part is here (sorry, don't know how to insert proper links):
In this fic Aziraphale and Crowley meet for the first time since 1941 among ruins of Berlin. I'm a Russian myself and I entertained a thought that Crowley made friends with Soviet soldiers.
Aziraphale could smell the scent of Death in the air. He'd been on Earth since the very beginning of time, and he'd seen just as many deaths as anyone could. But it was different there, in ruins of Berlin, where bodies piled up among rocks and metal and ragged cloth. He knew, reasonably, that if the world was about to end, he'd be notified. It wasn't a horseman on a paled mare whose name was Death, not yet - it was nothing but works of Man. And yet, if felt like the end of the world. He was an angel, but even he started to fear that God wasn't there anymore.
Aziraphale came there by the end of April, out of his own will, wishing to help as many souls reach Heaven as he could. He filled those dying of despair and dread with hope and forgiveness, he eased the pain of children he couldn't save, he gave heartbroken mothers' souls respite, he healed festered wounds of those whose flesh was torn apart and rotting.
He wished he could've ended it all, long before it came to that, but one angel couldn't stop the madness of a Mankind, and God... God was silent.
"Animals don't kill each other with clever machines, angel, only humans do that" - he heard Crowley's words inside his head. Oh, to think he believed the guilliotine was the worst they could do... Crowley always turned out to be right. Aziraphale would get angry at him, but in the end, he'd always be right. Last time he saw Crowley, in 1941, they both thought they've already seen butchery and unmatched atrocities. That was before Auschwitz. He wondered, what Crowley would've said about Auschwitz. He wondered where Crowley was.
"Maybe I should've told him".
He often wondered if it was his love for Crowley that kept him going for past 4 years. He'd seen a lot of things that made it hard to still love humanity, or trust God with his ineffable plan. But his will to see Crowley once again - to take him for a long walk or to a dinner out, or just to look at him from afar, made it all worth surviving. Even what he'd seen in Poland. One could never forget those kinds of things...
His eyes filled with tears, despite his best efforts. If only tears of angel could heal the humanity, or just one single human soul.
He walked further from the ruins towards the street, when he hears a sudden noise that broke the silence. Aziraphale stopped.
That was a tank driving down the street, men speaking and laughing in some foreign language. Russians? Might be. It was a time for their victory, after all. It was their time to celebrate and laugh, before they come back to their ravished homes to cry once again.
Suddenly, the tank stopped and one man took off and walked down the street. Other men waved him goodbye as they moved forward.
The man seemed healthy enough to walk, and as far as Aziraphale could see, there was no blood on his face or his clothes. He was dressed in grey or dusty black, and his clothes seemed ragged and dirty, but so was everything else - there was nothing but dirt and blood and ashes around them. The man was walking towards him. His face was covered in dirt as well. And then, as sun came out from the clouds and lighted the entire street, the man's hair shone with flaming red tounges of fire underneath all the filth that covered it.
"A redhead", Aziraphale thought. "It's well past time I stopped shivering at every readheaded man I see". But he couldn't help it. He couldn't take that picture out of his head. And then he heard man's voice.
- You really don't change, angel. All that wreckage around and you're all in white.
He didn't want to believe his ears or eyes. He had already been mistaken for a couple of times before, and that bitter realisation had always been way more painful than no hope at all.
But it was unmistakenly Crowley, thinner than ever, in ragged clothes, white teeth shining like angel's wing, as he was grinning mischovously. His red hair was a huge mess, he was covered in dust, but he still managed to wear dark glasses in all this poorest state of affaies.
- Show me your eyes. - Aziraphale mumbled. - I want to know I'm not hallucinating.
- They shouldn't be surprised to see snaky-eyed lad after what they've done themselves, angel. - Crowley took his glasses off, but then put them back within a moment. - But I still prefer my privacy.
- Oh, Crowley! - Aziraphale grabbed him in his arms, unable to hold tears anymore. - I'm so glad to see you. I've seen such horror, I've.... I've been here since April, and I was in Poland before that, and I almost lost my faith...
- Come on, don't be like that. - Crowley gently pushed him away. - I can't blame you for your tears, though. There were things that could make Satan himself tremble. But it's not demonic work, of that I can assure you.
- I know. Works of Man. Our Lord's most beloved creation. - Aziraphale was well past the point when he blamed Hell for human atrocities.
- Well, I guess it's almost over now. - Crowley gently put his arm on angel's shoulder. - I was planning to go home soon enough.
- Home?
- London, not Hell. You wanna go with me?
Aziraphale felt bad for feeling so much joy amidst such destruction, and yet he couldn't help but smile.
- I do. I haven't been there in a while. The place I lived in was destroyed. My bookshop, though - I hope it's alright.
- I'll have to find myself a new place. Maybe you could give me some advice, I haven't been to England since I left in 1941. I left my Bentley in Paris, in some reliable hands. Well, I hope they're reliable. I have to believe car's fine, or else I won't forgive myself.
- I bet there's not a scratch on it. - Aziraphale smiled. He told himself he'd use all his powers if something happened to Crowley's car. - We can drive home together, if you wish.
- I don't think it's safe, angel. We'd better meet in London. At least there IS London to meet in. - Crowley smiled.
They walked past ruins, as sun was setting down.
- Those soldiers, - Aziraphale asked - That dropped you off... You spoke their language? You speak Russian?
- Why act all surprised? - Crowley sounded a bit offended. - I speak a number of languages, I've been there for a while, you know. Not that I'm fluent or anything, but I made it clear I'm not a German, for a start.
- Have you been there? On Eastern front? - One thing Aziraphale knew of Eastern front, is that young boys came back all white-haired from there, if they were lucky, or unlucky enough to survive it.
- For a while. I've been to a number of places. Not that I want to recall it now, when all this is over.
They reached the crossroads, and Crowley stopped.
- You're here to help people find their final peace, aren't you? - Crowley asked.
- I am. And you? I wonder if Hell still has any work to do, given the...
- I'll just make sure right people will make it to Hell. - Crowley smirked. - That's about all I can do now.
- I hope I'll be back in London by September. If my bookshop is still there, I'll be waiting for you to come. If not...
- I'll find you anyway, mr. Fell. Such a neat surname you made yourself - Fell. But you didn't fall, it's me who fell, no? - Crowley asked teasingly.
- I was never as good as you at making up names, Anthony J. - Aziraphale replied - If you're so good at searching for people, then I'll see you soon.
- Bye, angel. See you.
Crowley turned around and started walking down the street, his tall figure looking completely black in setting sun. Before Aziraphale could make himself start walking away, Crowley suddenly turned around and shouted:
- I told you we'd win!
, before disappearing completely.
He was right, Aziraphale thought. The nightmare of war was almost over. He was daydreaming of them, meeting once again in London, when he saw a tank driving down the street in his direction.
"It way be foolish of me, but..."
He took a bunch of flowers from inside his jacket - a miracle too minor to be noted - and threw it to the soldiers sitting on the tank. He didn't understand what they said - unlike Crowley, he didn't know a word in Russian - but they smiled at him, and Aziraphale laughed himself, for the first time in 6 years.

This is a continuation because I quite liked the last one. Here's part one!
**********************************************
Danielle groaned as she began to wake up. She didn't remember ever falling asleep the night before. What had happened the night before anyways?
Her eyes fluttered open finally and though the world was still an awakening blur, Danielle could tell this was not her base. The room looked a little odd; it was at an angle. Now that she thought about it, she wasn't standing or sitting down; the angle she was seeing wasn't coming from either of those positions.
She could feel an odd ache and slight sting around her ankles. And wrists. Even her neck felt that way.
Finally she thought to stretch. Maybe she wasn't lying down, or standing up, but whatever she was doing, stretching would take away the ache, yes? But it didn't. What little bit she was able to move her shoulders only hurt her more. It felt as if her skin was being pulled apart at her shoulder.
"Careful," piped a voice. It was a boy's voice certainly, but Danielle could hardly tell where it came from. It was muffled, robotic. "It hasn't healed all the way. We don't want that mark to be ruined; I would have to do it again. You didn't take it well the first time."
Danielle couldn't remember anything, and the more she tried, the more emptiness her mind conjured. It was like her brain was purposefully blocking it out.
She looked down as much as she could; something shined beneath her chin, but she paid no mind to it. She wanted to at least remember what she was wearing, but what she saw didn't help at all. She was in pajamas, but they weren't her own. Where in the hell was she? Why was she wearing someone else's clothes?
She began looking around the room. "Who are you? Where am I? What do you want?" She finally spotted it; a red blinking light on the center of the ceiling. A camera, she knew.
The voice didn't respond. He had to have known she had spoken. There was a camera for the gods' sakes! Maybe it didn't record audio.
"I'm sure you are wondering where you are," the boy's voice explored. "You won't like it very much, however you did make the decision to be here."
She chose to be restrained like this? No, she didn't think so. But then again, maybe she was saving someone. Was she finally sent out on a mission? It must have been an individual mission because none of her other teammates were here. Perhaps they were being held in a different room. Or, perhaps they were smart enough to avoid being caught.
Please tell me I didn't do this all on my own, she prayed. She couldn't have been that stupid, doing a mission all by herself. She had only juts learned to control her powers not all that long ago. She had just joined the team!
There was a sound like paper crunching. Danielle recognized it as the intercom at her school, her old school. She didn't go to school anymore after the accident. She couldn't ever show her face that openly again.
Danielle looked away quickly as more light flooded the room she was in. It was a door opening. When she was finally able to look back, she saw a sillouhette making its way into the room. It turned around, shutting the door and flipping a switch. Light flooded the room once again, causing Danielle to squint and turn her head away. She let her eyes get used to the light beneath her eyelids before she opened them.
The boy was looking down at the floor directly in front of her. She couldn't tell what he was looking at, but she heard him set something hard down at his side. He then began to set up a foldable chair; Danielle could only see the top half of it, just barely if she really strained herself to look.
The boy sat down, clearing out his throat, but he still wasn't looking at Danielle. He reached for something, the hard object, Danielle assumed. She heard a click and whatever thing she was being held captive against began groaning as her head was positioned over her feet. The table, or whatever it was was leaning forward, her face coming closer to the boy's face. He was still concealing it. Was he wearing a mask?
As the table continued to tilt, Danielle found a knot in her throat. The restraints weren't tight enough to keep her back against the wall. No, her body was suspended by the restraints now. The metal, or leather, or rope, or chain, was digging into her skin now.
She finally came face to face with the boy. Rather, she came face to mask. She could see his lios, and she even watched as they worked into a smile. The familiar click sounded and the machine of a sort stopped moving. She was forced to face this- this monster of a boy.
"You are stunning even in my pajamas." He brought a gloved hand up to touch Danielle's cheek. There was nowhere for her head to go where she could avoid his touch so she just accepted it with closed eyes and a skewered, angry face. They're his clothes?
"Why am I here? What do you want? Who are you?"
"Whoa there, Danny. Easy on the questions. You know the answers. You just need a little reminder." He ripped his mask off just as he did before. "If there were a fire in the room, it would be even more appropriate," he hummed. "Ah, well. You remember, yes?"
Of course she remembered, it all came back to her in a flash. She relived it all so quickly that it took her breath away. The masquerade, the speak of the accident, the metal pole, the fire, the strong arms... He branded her. He made her his own. He captured her and she didn't know how she would ever get out, not in this position. "It's you."
"Lucas Banton, in the flesh." He bowed his head. "Known as QuickSpirit in the human world." He held out a hand as an introduction before snatching it back. "Oh, right. I must have forgotten. Anyhow, I already know who you are, my little trophy!"
Danielle's response was to snap her head towards Lucas' hand, flashing her teeth, and trying to bite. His hand disappeared, reappearing at his side. "I. Am. Not. Your. Prize."
"Oh, but you are. You even agreed to it."
"I never agreed to this! I met you at that masquerade to save my friends! I never said you could burn my flesh or kidnap me!" Danielle struggled against the restraints, soon stopping when she realized it was only hurting her more. She sighed, letting herself sag. There was no restraint across her chest or stomach and the arch in her back hurt, but it would be better to conserve her energy.
"You should keep fighting, looks pitiful, almost cute." Lucas grabbed the object beside him. Danielle had forgotten to even look at what it was. She was so distracted by him that it just didn't matter anymore.
He opened up a metal case; the lid flew open. To an unsuspecting victim, the lid would have fwapped them in the face. Lucas knew very well what it was though and opened it with a stretched neck.
"This, Danny, is going to pinch." He pulled out a vial of black liquid. It looked thick by the way it stuck to the sides of the glass when it swoshed around. He pulled out a syringe to go with it. "Would you like to know what it is?"
She knew she had no choice but to listen, so she did just that. She waited, listening. She used what strength she had to straighten her back, holding herself up with her restrained arms.
"It's a serum, as you can probably tell. 'But what does it do? Where did it come from?'" he mocked, "You might know BrainWrecker; he's our most skilled elite. He leads us now, actually. He was blessed with two different powers. He loves chaos. In fact, he stole this serum right here from the guards trying to inject him. They used to only inject him with the fake metal you see in childrens' jewelry. But, you see, humans like to experiment. They created a formula that could strip a superhuman of their powers. BrainWrecker saw it happen to all of his cell neighbors and he would be damned if he let it happen to him. He brought it back to me, a gift to the new recruit. He really is a nice man if you get on his good side."
"Right. BrainWrecker has a good side." She rolled her eyes as best she could. It took more focus than she thought. She almost let her stomach sag in the air again. Her back hurt too much to let that happen. "I presume you're going to tell me you have a good side, too? I should get on your good side?" she guessed.
"Most certainly. I can be kind, Danny. I have been kind. Aren't my jammies so comfy?" He smiled as she scowled. "I'm doing you another favor by taking away your powers. Now you can't get into trouble by killing any of my team, which means you won't be killed in return. I'm saving your life."
"Is that how you see it! My gods, you're sick!" Danielle fought against her restraints again. She had to get out of this place. "And if you think, for one minute," she yelled, spitting onto the villain's pretty face, "That I can't kill you without my powers, you have another thing coming for you!" Her wrists and ankles were becoming bruised as she continued to fight.
"You can't even put up a successful fight with powers, let alone without." The syringe was filled and poised. "Now, this is going to hurt more if you resist. I wouldn't use your powers unless you plan to entertain me. I truly do love to see you squirm."
"You disgust me. I don't know how you see any good in yourself."
"I didn't say there's good in me. I just advised you to get on my good side. I saved you from death, but I know you're going to be miserable here and I can't wait to see it, especially knowing I was the cause of it. However, we can be friends. It's up to you."
Lucas reached up just the tiniest bit, syringe in hand, and plunged it into Danielle's arm. Her teeth gritted. She was suppressing the urge to scream. It was like fire, nothing like being branded by hot metal; it was a different fire. It traveled through every vein, leaving a trail just as hot as the fire ignited.
Danielle did so well hiding the pain. Of course her face was skewered, contorted in pain, but even the expression showing could have been worse if she allowed it. Even Lucas was impressed with how well she was handling it after hearing BrainWrecker's stories. But, Danielle's pride was quickly washed away when the flames tickled her brain. "Stop," she screamed. "Make it stop, make it stop!" She clenched her fists, the pain drawing her power into the palms of her hands. Lucas said not to resist, and she wasn't trying to. The pain was just so intolerable, she couldn't help it. And it made it so much worse. The fire heated up dramatically in her palms, fighting to vanquish Danielle's power.
Lucas scooted his chair back. Her salty tears were falling into his clothes. So the pain really was as bad as BrainWrecker said. Sure, Lucas had heard his trophy scream and beg, but this was oh-so-much better.
When her screams and sobs finally faded into nothing, Lucas broke the atoms of the restraints holding her, the metal turning to nothing. Danielle fell to the floor limply, still sobbing but not out of pain. She just felt so useless without her powers. She knew that her threat was empty. She knew that Lucas was right. She couldn't fight with her powers, so what could she do without them?
