Sometimes, Toby still dreams of the air-raid sirens and the deep-seated fear that always lingered somewhere underneath the day-to-day emotions. It’s the kind of fear that doesn’t just go away with the signing of a peace treaty, but clings – heavy and insidious, only noticeable when someone begins trying to figure out why the world never seems quite as light as it used to be. He tries to not let on, but it’s hard, especially since its not like he is completely free of secrets - as long as the world is how it is, he and Adil will always be a secret onto themselves. But he’s alright with that. He’s alright with it because there’s nothing quite as beautiful as waking up in the morning with Adil beside him, his face buried against Toby’s neck. There’s nothing quite like coming home after a long day and being able to wrap his arms around his lover and curl up on the couch with a warm dinner and an expertly made drink, with the radio chattering in the background. Adil keeps hims grounded, keeps his mind from spiraling, keeps him warm. Sometimes, he’s the only thing that Toby is really sure of.

I did a new thing! Don’t laugh - I know these are seriously ropey but I have literally never made gifs before so these are my first ever attempt and I’m weirdly proud.

I’ve been wanting to try this for ages, so decided I’d use my two favourite kisses from the two fandoms I’m writing in right now. I need to practice to get better but yay for a new thing ticked off my list of ‘be brave, try it and see’!

so i've just finished watching the halcyon and i would just like to say it was honestly one of the most amazing shows i've had the pleasure to see adil joshi is one of my favourite fictional characters and he is way too good for this world he's selfless and would sacrifice his own life to make the people he loves happy as we very much saw with toby he's in a shit situation where almost everything he earns goes to his rent leaving him barely anything leftover BUT does not once complain and in fact considers himself lucky and is grateful for what he is given touching on his relationship with toby we see a more vulnerable side to him he tries to be the strong one for the both of them but is deeply insecure and needs just as much reassurance he tries his best but in his mind he's not good enough and he never will be he believes the world would be better without him and toby's words push him over the edge which honestly made me feel 874990952 emotions toby watched adil crumble as he made him feel like he wasn't even good enough to help him nor good enough to love him he genuinely believed his words and his insecurities were confirmed to the extend where he was convinced toby hated him we realise that his relationship with toby is the ONE thing that keeps him going and having messed that up he feels he has no purpose anymore luckily toby manages to rescue him in time and that's the first time we get confirmation that toby loves adil it's a sweet and desperate moment where true feelings are revealed PROTECT ADIL JOSHI AND TOBY HAMILTION 2K17 THEY'RE MARRIED NOW WITH TWO KIDS AND A PUPPY THIS SHOW IS AMAZING IT TEACHES YOU SO MUCH AND IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH A WATCH AND THEN A BINGE WATCH AFTER YOU'VE FINISHED IT
