abel and cain
i think the story of abel and cain was so sad. for anyone who does not know cain and abel were the sons of adam and eve cain was a farmer and abel a shepherd. god asked both brothers to bring gifts, cain brought a basket of crops or fruits (my bible says crops) and abel brought a portions of his firstborn lamb. god only accepted abel’s gift, he did not accept the gift from cain. this made cain upset and he became angry. (and then god had the nerve to ask why he was upset lol like i would be upset too what) cain told his brother to follow him into the fields and then he attacked and killed him. this marking the first ever murder in the book.
-★
i believe lots of people like to interpret it as cain picking fruits off the floor and giving those to god but when it never explicitly says he does that. ‘cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the lord’ ‘cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the lord’, but never did the bible say he picked the crop from the ground or he picked the worst ones. people’s interpretations can ruin the story i believe. maybe i’m ruining the story for someone now. but anyway, it was never said that that it was from the ground, honestly i dont think it should have mattered if it was it was gods soil anyway was it not?
enough about the crops, cain killed abel. i fully believe cains anger just took over him and he just hit abel too hard or something and abel died. and in cains defense!!!! lol it was the first murder ever how was he supposed to know that was going to happen. i sympathize with cain, with his anger for not being appreciated.

i only read this story a couple days ago it has stuck with me since. i just wanted to share my thoughts on this story:) take care of yourself.

I f**king hate the "Biblical Cain is Immortal" myth that was conceived and propagated by Mormonism. It's so stupid for anyone who read Genesis and deutercanonical Jewish lore.

Guided by a preacher of the Followers of Abraham, a trans-denominational religious group predicted the end of the world at the hands of the Anti-Christ, set for November 15th, 2019, after discovering the secrets of the Sons of Abel and Cain. Following the Mayan prediction of the end of the world in December 2012, the Followers of Abraham calculated the time from that date in with the seven years following that date, with the Anti-Christ arriving after three and a half, coinciding with the announcement of the intent to run for President by Donald Trump. -So....you're not like us? -Nyeah, no, we look similar, but we are angels. Er, my colleague is. I'm a demon. -What's the difference? -Hah, good question. I guess you could say I had to leave our Eden, in a sense. -...and he didn't go with you? -He...that's...It's not like with you and Adam. Uh, sorry for getting you kicked out, by the way. I didn't know She'd be so tetchy about the apple. -Don't be, it was getting kinda boring in there. -...knew I liked you for a reason.
i'm a crowley&eve friendship truther, and a big proponent of nanny! crowley to cain and abel (later events ....notwithstanding)

Book of Genesis Quotes + Stuff
(most of these don't actually have any significance to me or my novel, I just thought they were neat, and some gave me ideas as to how angels would be created in my world/novel)
I have to say that my favorite story has to be the one where Isaac was almost murdered by his father because God told him to, as a test of his faith. (<- actually insane?) I'm unsure why it's my favorite. It's just cool, I suppose. Plus, some parts of Genesis are actually just straight wild?
Below are just quotes I think sound cool, and some videos that I had to watch to fully comprehend.
Genesis 2:7 - then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Genesis 2:21 - So the Lord god caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then he took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.
Genesis 2:23 - Then the man said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one shall be called Woman, for out of Man this one was taken."
Genesis 4:10 - And the Lord said, "What have you done? Listen, your brother's blood is crying out to me from the ground!"
Genesis 6:6 - And the Lord was sorry that he had made humans on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.
Genesis 6:17 - "For my part, I am going to bring a flood of waters on this earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die."
Genesis 7:22 - Everything on day land in whose nostrils was the breath of life died.
Genesis 18:25 - "For be it from you to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! For be tat from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?"
Genesis 19:24-25 - Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire form the Lord out of heaven, and he overthrew those cities and all the inhabitants of the cities and what grew on the ground.
Genesis 35:29 - And Isaac breathed his last, and he died and was gathered to his people, old and full of days. And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
Genesis 37:9 - Then he dreamed another dream and told it to his brothers and said, "Behold, I have dreamed another dream. Behold, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars bowing down to me."

The vampire of Toledo Cathedral (or Cain's bite). Late 14th Century.
A rare representation of Cain and Abel's biblical story in which Cain kills Abel by biting him, instead of hitting him with a rock.

The Story of Cain & Abel In The Book Of Genesis
The story of Abel and Cain are sons of Adam and Eve. This story has me thinking about my siblings
Today, I’ve read the story of Cain and Abel for the first time and it resonates with me as I think about my siblings. When I think of my siblings, its difficult for me to admit I’m also guilty of being envious and angry. My siblings have never been bad people. There are three of us, I being the oldest, and as far as leadership goes, I could have done better. So, I suppose this may be a little bit…
