#ahsoka: then why are you wrapped in a blanket and letting him do your own report

Just saw gifs of Hayden training for rots and he looks so young in it.
Sooooo do you think that at one point during the clone wars Obi-Wan looked at Anakin doing something silly or the light hitting his face in a particular way and suddenly he saw the 9-year-old boy he took as a padawan, like "…oh Force that’s a child. I know he’s legally an adult and we knighted him, but this is the face of a boy. Look at those cheeks. He should be taking a nap right now. Why is this literal baby on a battlefield. I’m going to make him some soup right now"

Never let you go (fluff, slight angst)
requested?: no
Oneshot: Ahsoka has a very urgent question after the battle of Geonosis
Ahsoka Tano & Anakin Skywalker, Luminara Unduli & Barriss Offee (mentioned)
light angst but happy end (except for Barriss but when did she ever really get a happy end?? (if you want me to write one for her, let me know!!))
Words: 956
Masterlist
Anakin's quarter doors closed behind him with a soft noise when he spotted his padawan sleeping on the end of his bed, curled up tightly and with a lightgrey blanket messily wrapped around her slim shoulders. He smiled softly and put his lightsaber down on the shelf over the headside of his bed.
He sat down on the thin matress and gently touched Ahsoka's shoulder, the white sleeve cloth covering her tawny skin. "Hey Snips." He whispered. Ahsoka grumbled and pushed her arms forward like a loth cat, stirring softly.
"Ugh, what?" She grumbled as she sat up slowly, rubbing her eyes and pushing away the silka beads that were hanging down into her face.
She looked up at Anakin drowsily. "Hey." He gave her a smug smile. "Didn't manage to find your own bed, huh?" Ahsoka huffed and rolled her eyes before she let herself fall back onto the bed dramatically.
Anakin chuckled and sat down on the edge of the bed to take off his boots and the hard parts of his armor. "Come on, what's up? Normally you are more difficult to get to bed." Anakin said with a smile as Ahsoka just kept starring at the ceiling of the bed above her.
"I wanted to ask you something but i fell asleep. It's your fault, you always smuggle in the soft blankets that actually keep you warm. I couldn't resist." She argued and brushed her hand over the thick wool blanket.
Anakin laid back down next to his padawan who scooted to the side a little to make some space for him. He laid down on his back and Ahsoka moved down on the matress to rest her head on Anakin's biceps, her montrals gently nudging the side of his head.
"Of course, my fault." Anakin chuckled. "So, for what did you come around?" Ahsoka hesitated for a second. She bit her lips and Anakin frowned. "Hey, did something happen?" He asked concerned as he gently started stroking Ahsoka's lekku.
She shrugged. "I was just wondering... Rex said Master Luminara would have let Barriss go. Would she really just let her die?" She asked while looking up at Anakin with an insecure glimps in her eyes. Anakin sighed and stopped his movement.
"Yes, that's what she said. I fear." He finally answered in a low tone. Ahsoka moved a barely noticeable bit closer to him, as if she suddenly grew anxious. Anakin wrapped his free arm around her and pulled her a little closer.
"Does Barriss know?" Ahsoka asked. Anakin shook his head. "No, she is unaware as far as i know. Although, i believe she can sense it. The regret was lingering around Master Unduli for a while." He explained. Ahsoka nodded slowly.
"But is Barriss not disappointed?" Ahsoka asked with a certain urgency in her voice. How could Barriss not be at least the tiniest bit disappointed. Anakin sighed, lowering his gaze a little and starring at the grey wall between Ahsoka's lekku.
"Do you feel disappointment around her?" He finally asked. Ahsoka paused for a moment and thought about it. "Not... not really." She said finally. "But why?"
Anakin shrugged. "I guess Barriss got used to it. After all, it is how we are supposed to treat our padawans. You know the rules, dont get attached. Master Luminara is very strongly off the opinion that you should be ready to let your padawan go... when the time has come."
Ahsoka could feel the disdain lingering around Anakin through the force. His mimic looked torn. He could feel the distress around the younger girl. Finally, he sighed and pulled his padawan into a hug, her montrals fitting under his chin as she rested her face against his chest.
Ahsoka clinged to her master, holding onto him for comfort. Anakin tried to shake off his anger and instead sending her security through the force. The girl drank it up like she needed his comfort to survive. "It's okay." He whispered.
Ahsoka pulled back a little and looked up at Anakin like a kicked baby lothcat. "Would you let me go?" She asked whispering. Anakin pulled her into a tight hug and squeezed the air out of her lungs. "Absolutly not, never will i ever even consider doing that." He answered unambiguous.
Ahsoka exhaled a breath she didnt know she was holding and gently nudged her head back under Anakin's chest. He continued to stroke her back and gently twirling Ahsoka's headbeads around his fingers.
"You are worth more than some stupid rules." Ahsoka could hear her master whisper. "I will always come find you, no matter where you manage to get stuck." Anakin smiled softly and Ahsoka chuckled.
"Who comes to save us when we get stuck together?" She asked, relaxing a little. Anakin contemplated his answer for a brief moment. "I'm sure Obi-Wan would come, he would miss us. He just doesn't want to admit it." Anakin laughed softly, Ahsoka could feel the noise vibrating in her montrals.
She pulled back a little and glanced up at Anakin. "After the battle he looked like he wanted to throw a rock at you." She said with a smirk. Anakin rolled his eyes and nudged Ahsoka playfully. "I'm sure that was because of all the dust and his gunboat crash. Nothing to do with us."
Ahsoka nodded sarcastically. "Of course, nothing to do with us. As always."
"As always." Anakin answered solemnly and pulled Ahsoka back closer to him. Ahsoka laughed but quickly sighed in her master's embrace. "Can i stay here?" She asked. "You stay here at least once every standard week and im sure you sleep with Fives and Echo even more." He mocked gently.
"Of course you can stay."

imagine obi wan and satine in space ikea...
You know.....I was afraid of this happening when I dumbly posted those prompts. But, shockingly, I made it work. It didn't turn out the way I expected, but what do you want from me!??!
Set in the "She Said the Word" AU, between the first story and the sequel.
Accent Pieces
“Why are we here again?”
“Because our children wanted our input.”
“My input was to call a designer.”
Obi-Wan chuckled as he inspected a bin overflowing with colorful throw pillows. “It’s their first place, darling. Let them have their fun.”
Satine didn’t like feeling elitist. But, considering the first place she lived as an adult, once she was done running for her life and rallying clans to her cause, was the palace in Sundari, she realized she may struggle with that feeling as they followed behind Korkie and Ahsoka through the maze of aisles in the warehouse like furniture superstore.
Satine gently fingered a blanket draped artistically over the arm of a sofa in one of the many displays meant to mimic some form of hip, young, urban living. It was soft, she had to admit. “I just don’t see the need to shop like this, Ben. I could have given them the name of a number of designers, as could Padme, and their little place could have been set up exactly how they liked, without spending hours lost in this….zoo.” She whispered the last bit as a couple of oddly furry, unusual beings brushed past her. She had never seen anyone like them, and she prayed she hadn’t offended them with her poor choice of words.
Up ahead, Korkie and Ahsoka had stopped to try out a number of sofas. Satine had to admit that the style this store seemed to feature was very similar to her own particular tastes- streamline and minimalist- even if it was inexpensive and arrived unassembled.
“What do you think of this one, Mum?” Korkie called from where he sprawled on a bright purple sofa that made Satine’s eyes burn.
“Well, it certainly is...purple.”
Ahsoka snorted. “It does come in other colors.”
Satine let out a sigh. “Oh thank the stars.” She considered it more closely, paying attention to the lines and the shape, picturing it in the sun filled room of the children’s small apartment they’d be sharing, now that they were officially settling in Coruscant. “I think it could be a lovely focal point for a room, Korkie. Just...just not in that shade of purple.”
The boy- well, man. Satine had to remind herself he was an actual adult now- studied the color. “You really don’t like the purple?”
Satine chewed on her lip, looking around the displays nearby. “Well, darling, if you’re insistent on that color, I would suggest some pieces in more understated tones, like those grey chairs over there. Same with your accents.” She walked over to the blanket she had inspected a few moments earlier, white and grey but shot through with a lovely shade of green, and laid it against a sofa cushion. “Something like this would look lovely against that vibrant hue.”
Korkie ran his hand over the blanket, appreciating the softness, and considered his mother’s advice. “Hmm...yes, I can see that.” He looked up at Ahoska. Some unspoken exchange passed between them. “But maybe not the purple.”
“Oh thank the stars,” Ahoska breathed, slouching back onto the sofa she had been admiring. “Grey. I still say we go with grey.”
Korkie got up and moved to her sofa, sprawling against her, just how Satine imagined they would spend most of their evenings. Exactly how they spent most of their evenings in the family lounge at home. It made her heart clench a bit, thinking of these two officially off on their own. “I know you say that, but grey is so boring,” Korkie said.
“Well, then you accent with color, darling,” Satine explained, before reaching for a pair of bright red throw pillows.
Hours, perhaps days, later, it seemed to Satine, they sat around a table together, surrounded by shopping bags full of pillows and blankets and an odd assortment of kitchen gadgets, eating strangely delicious cafe food, served up to them as they walked along a queue to make their selections. Protectors lurked near doors and along the perimeter of the bustling cafe. Satine was still baffled by the concept of a cafe in this great hulking labyrinth of a store, but after their marathon shopping experience, she was grateful for the rest and the sustenance.
Korkie and Ahsoka spoke in animated tones, going over their ideas for their apartment with one another, before their conversation melted into a new one about their plans for that evening, and for the next week. Both were wildly over excited to settle into an adult life on Coruscant, finally free of the burdens and stressors of war, looking forward to bright futures full of possibilities. It warmed Satine to her core as she watched them, sipping on her overly sweet fruity fizzpop.
Obi-Wan leaned close to her ear, his warm breath tickling the fine hairs along her neck. “It wasn’t that bad, was it?”
She smiled coyly. “It was an experience.”
“But you enjoyed yourself.”
“I enjoyed spending time with you and the children.”
“But this place isn’t all that bad. You like all the things they picked out.”
She rolled her eyes. “Korkie has my eye for lines and Ahsoka knows nothing but simple and useful. They did well. But if I never see a piece of mass produced furniture again, it will be too soon.”
He laughed, and pulled a bag up from beside him. “Well, I’m glad you didn’t mind the textiles too much, as I bought you that blanket.”
She looked in the bag, and there sat the blanket of white and grey and streaks of brilliant green, soft and plush and begging to be wrapped around her shoulders. She laughed in delight.
“It’s perfect, Ben. Thank you.” She kissed his lips, free as they were to behave as somewhat normal Coruscanti shoppers, away from the prying eyes of Sundari. “This day has been perfect.”
“I’m glad you think that, Mum,” Korkie said from across the table. “Because we’re going back to assemble furniture for the evening!”
Satine groaned.

Okay woohoo some fic recs incoming!!!! These will probably be all over the place, but I’ve just got to scream about them for a second!!! PS gonna try to do these more frequently because this is fun!!!
Click below the cut if you dare!
Declarations by Nny11
Summary: A series exploring Obi-Wan and Ahsoka's relationship as Grandmaster and Grandpadawan.
Okay, so this is one of the first fics I can genuinely remember reading with a heavy emphasis on the relationship between Obi-Wan and Ahsoka where I was like 'hey oh my god I love them?’ It was a monumental moment for me because now I am so obscenely ride or die for them and I truly do think back to this fic often with utter fondness.
A moment I loved:
“From a certain point of view,” he finally conceded, motioning her to start again. “At least I know you’ve learned something from me!”
“Well I couldn’t learn the secrets of your hair routine!”
the flood comes rushing in by @kenobilovebot
Summary: "I have done this for you. I have put you first." Or, Anakin finds out.
A little bit of sith!Obi-Wan? As a treat? Hm, well...all right!!!!! I don’t want to say too much here because I would really prefer you read it than read any more of my mindless babbling but–it’s good.
A moment I loved:
He can hardly think around the smothering darkness that has so wholly encompassed his master, so effectively destroying the light that has always been. He’s always been able to reach for it at the worst of times. Now he can’t feel it at all.
a time to say goodbye by Sokaless
Summary: Ezra isn't the only one facing the temptation of change in the World Between Worlds. Just minutes after facing Vader, Ahsoka falls through a portal seventeen years into the past and must relive her final encounter with Anakin and Obi-Wan without drastically altering the future. But Anakin Skywalker taught her many things. How to push her luck was one of them.
This is a short and sweet time-travel fic that finds Ahsoka back in that moment in the hangar with Anakin right before they unknowingly have their last goodbye. She knows more now than she did before and struggles not to say it all. But the theme of learning from loss is really special and powerful and I feel this sad sort of closure when I finish (I say that actively because I have...read this fic several several times). Painful, poignant–all the best things.
A moment I loved:
One last thing she learned from Anakin- teaching a lesson often requires holding your student to higher standards than you hold yourself.
With the knowledge that she’s holding him to a standard she herself might never reach, Ahsoka tells Ezra, “I’m asking you to let go.”
good morning, sun by @katierosefun
Summary: “You look miserable.” Ahsoka dropped her hand, spun around. Obi-Wan stood behind her, one arm carrying a cloak and the other half-extended to Ahsoka. [or: After she leaves the Order, Ahsoka has one last encounter with Obi-Wan.]
Let’s see how many of Caroline’s fics I can get away with posting before someone reports me. This one-shot is full of all the good post-wrong jedi stuff. Soka and Obi have a conversation at Dex’s that hurts a lot but also feels real and I will never not respect Caroline for understanding the nuances of the disaster trios intricate and intimate relationships with each other and how they shift and mold around different circumstances. This feels so authentically them that it hurts.
A moment I loved:
What came out instead was a small, half-choked sound.
When Obi-Wan opened his arms, Ahsoka fell right into them. “It hurts,” Ahsoka said, her voice cracking. “A lot.”
“I know,” Obi-Wan replied thickly. “We’ll take care of it.”
You Haunt All My What-Ifs by @kckenobi
Summary: But then she saw the way Obi-Wan’s lip was quivering, and his eyes were shining, and she realized— He hadn’t called because he needed to tell her. He’d called because he needed her. “Obi-Wan,” she breathed. “Oh, Obi-Wan…” And she wanted to reach out, to hold him. To be his refuge, his shelter, his home. Instead she just watched as he shook his head, palmed at his eyes, apologized. She reached out. Touched the hologram. It flickered. — [Satine and Obi-Wan—then, now, and every echo of what if between them.]
One of the first fics that got me on my Obitine grind!! Just the right mix of angst and angst to create the perfect recipe of absolute sorrow. These characters feel so real I could reach out and hug them–and oh, how I want to after this incredible little fic.
A moment I loved:
And then suddenly she was thinking of every little what if—the other paths they could’ve taken, the millions of ways they could’ve ended up here. She imagined a future where he’d stayed. She saw white weddings, crying infants, painting nursery rhymes on a pale bedroom wall. She saw herself rolling over in the middle of the night, bumping shoulders, feeling his warm breath on her face. She saw family dinners, rushed breakfasts as they hurried the kids off to school. She saw laughter. She saw a lifetime. And at the end, she saw herself old and gray, holding his hand, his eyes the last thing she’d ever see. They had arrived at the end now. But she was not old and gray.
Dying Words by @cloudyskywars
Summary: Anakin is trapped beneath a collapsed building, and has one final conversation with Obi-Wan.
One of my favourite febuwhump contributions from within the mountain of wonderful fics that the second month of the year created!! Some good ol classic Obi & Ani pain. Hint of a deathfic...but mostly just the moments leading up to it. And they...hurt. Also!!! Melanie took the care to make Anakin’s final words be about Obi-Wan, which is very special to me for the reason she includes in her author’s note.
A moment I loved:
“And,” he said, “if you ever see Ahsoka again, tell her she was the best padawan I could have asked for.” His breaths were coming in rapid pants, now, and the room was spinning out of focus. “Obi-Wan?” he asked, voice barely audible. “Yes, Padawan mine?” he responded, his own voice shaky as well. “Thank you for being my Master,” Anakin said.
i’m only me when i’m with you idiots by @renegadeontherunn
Summary: who let Obi-Wan pick the holo? and where's the remote? they might need a bigger blanket.
[or, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan have leave on Coruscant and holo night is the perfect excuse to all squeeze onto a couch together, bicker, and be, well, a family]
Fluff, fluff, fluff! Yes, please! My dear Fiona does a wonderful job wrapping these three up in a blanket and plopping them in front of a holo for a night of witty banter and so-cute-I-could-melt platonic cuddles. I love these three, I love this fic!
A moment I loved:
“You met a civilized Padawan? Couldn’t have been ours.”
get home by @curse-of-men
Summary: After a mission goes wrong and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker goes missing, it is up to Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano to bring him home.
[or: a Grandmaster and a Grandpadawan go on a road trip to rescue chaos personified]
What? Me? Rec’ing another Obi-Wan and Ahsoka centric fic? HUH? Hehe, I love that Lou says this is the missing Obi & Soka arc in their author’s note because um, did they look into my heart and know that’s what I most desire? Anyway, this three-parter is incredible from start to finish and I demand you all go read it immediately. :-)
A moment I loved:
Making their way to the cockpit, Ahsoka tilts her head into Obi-Wan’s general direction and says: “You know, Master, Anakin would probably think things so far have gone excellently.” Obi-Wan returns her look and sighs.
“Now you surely must get why I am so worried about this.” Ahsoka grins and gestures back and forth in the empty space between them with one hand.
“For what it’s worth, I think we make a good enough team.”
we stand here, together by @nightdotlight
Summary: Master Depa Billaba and Padawan Caleb Dume.
Windu worries for them, out in the wider galaxy. Waging war, while he and Anakin sit here, waiting.
But he trained Billaba, and Billaba is training Dume. Anakin once took lessons from her, when he himself was a Padawan, and he knows she is skilled enough by far, to ensure that both she and her student make it back to Coruscant safely.
It’s ironic, that when cut off from the Force he can understand other people better than he has in years.
ZOWEE!!!! This fic made me ugly cry on my conference period at school!! Ha! Another fic that culminates in, er...death. But!!!! The lead-up! Ooh, baby! The writing style of this one is also very fresh and unique which I appreciate as someone who essentially reads the same thing eight million ways (by choice, mind you!!!! and loves it every time!!!!). This is just an absolute gem of a fic. Queue: your best crying playlist.
A moment I loved:
Depa, her Padawan braid hanging from her shoulder, hugs him around his middle and drags him to the training salles. The whole way, her laughter follows them– warm, like summer rain. Like the smallest, most ephemeral moments of happiness.
Her smile feels like a sunset on his back, and Mace smiles back even as they spar, as green and purple clash over and over again in a dance unique to teacher and student.
He does not need to reach out to know the galaxy is at peace. When they take a break from their own spar, Mace feels a light tap on his presence in the Force; when he turns, Ahsoka Tano stands there in training robes, her own Master a few paces behind– and beside him, Obi-Wan Kenobi, face lighter than it has been in years.
Her Padawan beads hang from her headdress; when she smiles at the banter behind her, turning to retort, they catch the light, and the half-formed impression of those beads torn asunder and held in gloved hand is dissipated by the glare.
Only Hope by @tessiete
Summary: The infamous "Year on the Run".In the wake of her father's death, Satine is assigned two Jedi to escort her safely back to Mandalore, but in the chaotic aftermath of a civil war, there is more at stake than one person's survival. Together, they work to unite Mandalore, overcome ancient grudges, and bring peace to a world ravaged by bloodshed.
Man, oh man, do I love a good year on the run fic! And man oh man am I loving the heck out of this one. It’s in progress so go ahead give it a bookmark and a subscription while you’re at it!!!! But the banter! The sass! The (I assume soon to come) pining! The Qui-Gon third wheeling! READ IT! Cannot recommend highly enough.
A moment I loved:
“...and you’re bound to be hungry.”
“I assure you, I’m not.”
“Well, Obi-Wan is,” Jinn asserts. His back is to his apprentice and so he cannot see the mutinous glance which darts his way. “And as you’ve seen, he’s trouble when he isn’t fed. You have five minutes.”
Goes to Ground by jerseydevious
Summary: Obi-Wan has a question for Anakin following his experiences on Zygerria.
Silly Jedi boys trying and failing to communicate, gosh dang it!!! They get there, eventually, though. :’) Some post Zygerria angst and some tough discussions. HERE. FOR. IT.
A moment I loved:
“You are a bad influence, padawan mine,” Obi-Wan said. He gave Anakin that smile, the one that made Anakin feel like he shared a secret with his Master, something only for them.
In Sacrifice, Peace by @ilonga
Summary: “Shh. . .” Anakin says, gathering the younglings around him, reminding Obi-wan of all those whispered arguments where he had insisted to Anakin that yes, he was good with children, he’d be just fine teaching Ahsoka. He can almost feel the terror rising off Anakin from the hologram; Anakin doesn’t know what’s happening either. But he isn’t letting the younglings feel it. “You need to listen to me very carefully, okay? This--” his voice breaks, “--this is going to be scary. But you have to be calm, and strong. Just like Master Yoda taught you.” [Or, the ROTS au where Obi-wan finds a very different type of pain while looking through the Temple's recordings of Order 66.]
PAIN AWAITS YOU HERE! But that is exactly why you should click, kudos, comment, bookmark, and let this fic live in your head rent free like it’s living in mine. Truly couldn’t get it out of there if I wanted to! AND I DO NOT! Yet another deathfic and angst with The Team (TM). Read it, peeps.
A moment I loved:
“And then?”Obi-wan closes his eyes, pretends he can’t feel the weight of the body in his arms, pretends it’s really Anakin he’s talking to and not some worrying coping mechanism. “And then we fight.” he says.
to hold by @katierosefun
Summary: “What—” Ahsoka looked up and, where she had expected to find a mumbling drunk, she found instead—
“Master Kenobi?” Ahsoka asked, stunned. She straightened, already swinging her backpack around herself again.
“Ahsoka,” Obi-Wan managed. He was breathing hard, just barely bent over because he was supporting, Ahsoka realized dumbly, Anakin.
Anakin, whose head was lolling against Obi-Wan’s shoulder. Whose face was two shades too pale and eyes fluttering and lips parted in a soundless groan that brought Ahsoka right back to battlefields and med bays and other places that she hadn’t been in a long, long while. [or: after leaving the Order, Ahsoka runs into some familiar faces.]
Caroline at it again with the post-wrong-jedi disaster trio angst comin’ in hot! Some platonic bed-sharing, some confused Anakin, some conflicted Ahsoka, some pained Obi-Wan. Well–strike that. They’re all in pain. But what do we expect, honestly? What do we want, honestly? Pain. We want pain.
A moment I loved:
“Only another dream,” Obi-Wan said. He looked at Ahsoka, his face just barely shadowed. “Seems that it’s passed.”
Another.
Ahsoka’s stomach twisted. She looked at the hand she was holding. It was strange—she couldn’t remember if she had ever actually held onto Anakin’s hand this tightly before, but now she could feel the familiar callouses, make out just the faintest of old scars. Ahsoka squeezed it once.
Not near as many as I planned to do or have saved and ready to rec, but...this already got, er...quite lengthy. So! Same time, next week! I’ll have some more! (Well, probably not same time and maybe not even next week...but soon.)

I would never be angry at you (Anakin & Obi-Wan)
2No Warnings Apply
During a game of twenty questions Anakin finds out that his master isn't the perfect Jedi. This sparks his confession about the Tusken Raiders and his marriage to Padme.
(Mentioned Obi-Wan X Cody)
Find it on AO3
Tumblr media
Obi-Wan entered their shared quarters and flopped onto his bunk, all the grace of a Jedi Master replaced with exhaustion.
“Bad day?” Anakin asked, words mumbled by his mouth stuffed full with sweets.
“Yes.”
This was an under-exaggeration, Anakin thought, if the man hadn’t told him off for talking with food in his mouth.
Obi-Wan pulled his outer-robes and boots off before reaching under his bed.
“What is that?”
“Wine.”
“That does not look like wine, Master-”
“It's from Bail. Old, strong and illegal in 12 systems.”
“Master,” Anakin drawled out, knowing his tolerance was nothing compared to the other’s and if Obi-Wan admitted it was strong…
Obi-Wan sighed and reached behind the drawers, retrieving another (Anakin-friendly) bottle.
“How did you know that was there?”
“I’m your Master, you can’t hide things from me.”
“Why didn’t you confiscate it, then?” Anakin asked, confused by his rule-following Master allowing Anakin to stash alcohol - he’d been using that space since he was 15.
“You’re an adult now, Anakin. And quite frankly I was just glad you had friends.”
“Hey-” _________
Anakin and Obi-Wan were leaning against each other on his bunk.
“I know,” Anakin smirked, “How about we play a game.”
“Oh?” Obi-Wan looked down at Anakin.
“Twenty questions.”
Obi-Wan let out a breath laugh of amusement. “Okay, then. When was the last time you tested Ahsoka on her cultural studies?”
Anakin scowled.
“Well, you’re lucky I’ve been taking over the theory instruction of our Padawan.”
“My Padawan.”
“When she’s misbehaving.”
“Hey! Anyway, I have a question. Would you rather kiss Windu or Plo Koon?”
“It's Master’s Windu and Koon” Obi-Wan corrected.
“So you don’t mind speculating about which one you’d kiss, but the lack of ‘Master’ is where you draw the line?”
“I would kiss Plo, he is a dear friend of mine and quite frankly not as scary.”
Anakin laughed, “You’re afraid of Windu?”
“Like you aren’t," Obi-Wan feigned thinking before planting a smirk on his face, "Okay, what is your Grievous tactic?”
“How do you know that?” Anakin burst out.
“I just have a second sense when it comes to your stupidity,”
“I swear if Rex told you-”
“Wrong trooper.”
“Wrong trooper! Which other ones have you been hanging out with? Wait. Are you stealing my men?”
Obi-Wan just smiled.
“Fine. Ahsoka sits on my shoulders and we wield four sabers like him.”
“By the force, Anakin -”
“We spin them manically and-”
“Wait. Where did you get the fourth lightsaber?” Obi-Wan interrupted
Anakin grew quiet, his voice reluctant, “Sometimes Cody doesn’t return it to you immediately, and we both know he’s weak to Ahsoka’s tooka eyes, like most of the men,” Anakin trailed off. Just as Obi-Wan was going to scald him he carried on, “What would you do if you weren’t a Jedi?”
Obi-Wan decided to let go of his line of questioning in hopes of avoiding going grey early. “I don’t know - I’d want to help people. I could say something rather Jedi-like, such as work the land. But I’m afraid I was put off that when I was sent to the Agricorps. Realistically, I’d probably still be a general as I am now - just without a lightsaber. As much as I hate war and the bloodshed that comes with it - I am rather good at it. As much as I try to be the perfect Jedi, my skills lay in an area which juxtaposes that. It is ironic, I suppose, that I was never meant to be a Jedi Knight, I become one anyway, and then my speciality recognised by the Council is the furthest thing from peace.”
“What?”
Obi-Wan’s eyes narrowed on his glass and his signature resonated with shame, “I had planned on never telling you that. But it just felt like you needed to know. I’m sorry if I’ve shattered your image of me.”
Anakin’s face lit up with relief, “You’re not perfect”, he breathed out.
“No,” Obi-Wan’s low chuckle was exasperated and self loathing, “No, Anakin, I’ve never been perfect.”
“Why didn’t you want to tell me?”
“Because I was ashamed of my past, still am. I was a run-of-the-mill youngling: too much anger and too much pride. No Masters wanted me and I was sent to the Agricorps.”
“What do you mean no Master wanted you? You and Qui-Gon were so close!”
Obi-Wan looked down and moved away from Anakin. “We weren’t as close as you think, these memories are from when you were young and naïve. We were too different, we fought and I always knew he didn’t want me. You saw how quickly he threw me away for you.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. You were the best thing to come from him,” Obi-Wan’s voice was steeped in a resentment that Anakin had never thought possible.
“You were angry. As a youngling”
“Very much so. Anger and attachment were always my biggest pitfalls. I’ve worked hard on them, but I’m afraid my issues with attachments have grown rather than disappeared.”
Anakin smiled at that, taking Obi-Wan’s hand, “You know, I never realised how much like me you were. Nearly as much as a disappointment to the Jedi.”
Obi-Wan laughed, body shaking as a smile replaced his reminiscent scowl, “Well, only one of us has left the order.”
“You’re joking”
“No, Melida/Daan. Qui-Gon wouldn’t stay to help the children in the war. I did.”
“Your experience being a General before this?”
“Yes.”
They sat in silence for a few minutes, comfortable in each other's presence. But as Anakin stewed in the other’s words his anxiety leaked into the force.
“This could have really helped me when I was a Padawan.”
“I know. I’m sorry. It was selfish to want to maintain the way you saw me - the perfect Jedi.”
“I always compared myself to you, looked up to you, I resented you for a bit because of it.”
“I know. And I knew at the time. I was not the Master you needed.”
“You were the best Master you could be,”
Obi-Wan laughed self-deprecatingly.
“No, Master, I mean it. You weren’t the problem. I was,” Anakin paused and wringed his hands as he considered his next words, “My anger was-is a problem. I have done things I regret and that you would hate me for.”
Obi-Wan’s shock at that statement had him sitting straight and placing a hand on Anakin’s cheek, “No, Anakin, I could never hate you, never, you’re my Padawan. I love you.”
Anakin recoiled from the touch, not believing he deserved his Master’s love at this moment. A man so ashamed of leaving the Jedi to save children in a way zone as a Padawan. Anakin had much worse things to be ashamed of. Things he didn’t think Obi-Wan could ever even imagine himself doing. Tears gathered in his eyes as he looked down at his lap through his lashes.
“I killed the Tusken Raiders. They hurt my mother - she’s dead - and I killed them all,” the tears began streaming down his cheeks.
“Oh, oh, Anakin, dearest” Obi-Wan whispered.
Anakin couldn’t stand that tone. He stood up and began passing. Eyes puffy and hands shaking, he began to shout, “I cut them down and felt nothing. The children - they screamed for their mothers - like I had - and I cut them down like animals. I hated them. And the dark, the dark it curled around me - it was like someone was choking me and cutting me off from my body and my emotions like I was a puppet killing them all.”
He grabbed his hair tightly in his hands and pulled, sinking down to the ground, “I killed them, I killed them,” it was as if the fog had cleared and Anakin was realising this for the first time.
“Hey,” Obi-Wan stepped forward and gently grasped his Padawan’s wrists, trying to untangle his hair from his unyielding grip, “Anakin, stop. You’re hurting yourself.”
“I hurt them.”
“Yes, you did. And you can’t change that,” Obi-Wan took a calming breath and repressed his shock and upset, his Padawan looked so small and this darkness wasn’t all his own.
“Anakin, what you did was wrong and entrenched in darkness. But you are light. This action hasn’t changed that. And I do not think it happened without influence. But Anakin, so many Jedi struggle with the dark. We have the power to enact our own judgement and no one can stop us. That is why we need to stop ourselves. And this time you didn’t. You can’t bring back the Tuskens, but you can let go of your anger and make sure this won't happen again.”
“I don’t know how to let it go.”
“Oh, Anakin-”
“It is so deep inside me, tangled with all the light,” Anakin let Obi-Wan take his hands away from his hair, staring far into his eyes, “Master, help.”
“I wish I had seen this sooner. Anakin, tomorrow morning we will start. We will meditate together and I can guide you.”
“Please, I’m sorry.”
“I know, dear one,” Obi-Wan collected Anakin into his arms.
“Will you tell the council?”
“No, at least not for now.”
“They will kick me out and then I’ll have to leave you and Ahsoka and Rex and-”
“Anakin, if they expelled you we would all follow.”
“Oh. Why won’t you tell them?”
“I don’t trust them to judge the situation fairly, there is something not quite right in the council. They’re stuck in ways from times which have long passed. And Quinlan and I may be doing some under the radar investigating that which is influencing and amplifying your darkness may help.”
“You’re both taking a mission they’ve denied.”
“They can’t deny that they don’t know about.”
Anakin smiled for a moment in the comfortable silence before sombering again. “I thought you’d be angry at me,” Anakin whispered.
“No,” sadness filled Obi-Wan as he gently took Anakin’s face into his hands and placed a kiss on his forehead, “No, my Padawan, I could never be angry at you.”
He pulled a blanket to him with the force and wrapped them in it, “I wish you had told me, but I wasn’t the most approachable Master. I put walls between us unintentionally, to protect myself I guess, and you. I didn’t want you to grow attached. I knew I was and wanted to spare you the judgement and the pain. I wasn’t a good role model so part of me felt better when you despised me in your late teens. I’m truly sorry I wasn’t a better Master, Anakin. But know now, you can tell me anything and I will always love you. I raised you, all parts of you.”
“I’m sorry.” Anakin’s eyes were dry, but red and puffy, he had run out of tears and exhaustion hit him. “I’m also married to Padme.”
“I know,”
“I broke the code again.”
“Yes, but that is the order’s code - not the Jedi's.”
Anakin looked at him in confusion.
“You know, I am in a relationship of sorts with Cody.”
Anakin burst out of the blanket in shock, suddenly very awake, “Cody!”
“I thought it was obvious, even the council knows, unofficially of course. Another reason they make life harder for our lineage.”
“I didn’t know.”
“-Because you were trying so hard to conceal your own relationship. I mean, you mentioned only earlier that he carried my lightsaber.”
“I didn’t think it meant anything.”
“Aren’t I always telling you that your lightsaber is your life?”
Over the shock of the new information, desperately trying not to think about Cody and his Master, Anakin asked: “How did you know about Padme and me?”
“Everyone knows, you’re not very subtle.”
Anakin huffed in annoyance.
“It's okay, Anakin. I forgive you for everything. I only ask that you forgive me for not making sure you understood the rule of attachment and for not teaching you my own interpretation.”
“What I have to forgive you for is nothing compared to what I did.”
“And yet I forgive you. I always will so long as you realise that you were wrong and want to do better. I think we forget that the Jedi code is not what we should or can be, but an ideal we should strive for, to be as close to as we can.”
“What do you think about not allowing love?”
“I think you mean not allowing attachment. Love and attachment are different. Love is selfless, attachment selfish - something that would lead you to do anything to keep those that are yours. Attachment is possessive, love is not.”
Anakin looked as if the origins of the universe had been revealed.
“Some Jedi believe we should not love, for love leads to attachment. But to be a Jedi is to live enveloped by the force, to welcome all aspects of it. Not to command it, like the dark, but to embrace it. The force is life, and loving is such a fundamental aspect of life that to ban it is to sensor a huge chunk of the force. Jedi are taught to be compassionate, and I believe it is only by loving truly, selflessly and in a way open to all life forms that we can truly be so to all.”
“How do you stop love becoming attachment?”
“I don’t know - it's never been my strong suit. If you were taken I would tear cities apart to find you, just as you would for Ahsoka - and I would too.”
“I would for you as well.”
“I’m not sure if I should say thank you or not. I know that I would not react in a very Jedi way. I have these attachments and they won't go, and I’m not willing to work on letting them go. But if you were ever to be killed, which I pray to the force doesn’t happen, I would have to accept it. It would kill me to do so, but I would - eventually. And I have in the past. I think, the law of attachment, is recognising that you are attached but building boundaries that you won't cross. I may be angry, but I would try my hardest not to let go and act on it. I would think about how you wouldn’t want me to fall. Although this is all easier said than done.”
“I can love Padme, you, Ahsoka, Rex, my men and my droids and do everything in my power to not let them get hurt so long as I don’t hurt others in the process.”
“Yes. We are not judges. Nor do we have any right to execute our will because of our emotions. But we do have a right to feel those emotions. For example, I would travel anywhere to save you, but not if it put the lives of all my men at risk. I am responsible for them, and my attachments aren’t theirs.”
Anakin nodded and tears welled in his eyes, “I want to be like that. Good. Like you. But I wasn’t. How do I know that I will be next time?”
“You know that you can talk to me, or at least I hope you do,” Obi-Wan stood up.
“Yes,” Anakin took the other’s hand and was pulled upright, they headed towards Anakin’s bunk where Obi-Wan unceremoniously plonked him, “When did you get so wise, Master?”
“I always have been,” Obi-Wan chuckled, “You’ve just never listened before.”
Obi-Wan returned to his own bunk and laid down, closing his eyes. Just as he began to drift off Anakin woke him, “Wait, all those nighttime council meetings that were too secret for me to attend, were you fucking Cody?”
“Anakin!” Obi-Wan scalded before a blush sprayed across his cheeks, “Yes, but unlike you and Padme I enjoy the illusion of discreteness.”
“Ugh, Master, I didn’t need to know that.”
“You asked,” Obi-Wan sounded all too amused at his Padawan’s disgust. “Now rest. I’m sure tomorrow will be exhausting.”
“And yet you always tell me meditating is restful.”
“Not when you’re complaining the whole way through.”
“I won’t, I promise. Not for this. Good night, Master.”
“Good night, Anakin.”

(TW for panic attacks and minor and unintentional emotional abuse. This is emotional crisis in the middle of a war. Nobody in this story is at their best.)
••
Ahsoka sometimes thought that her Master never had rough days.
Oh, he had days when his temper was high - and those days were more frequent as the war went on and on and on - and days when he was more tired, more sad.
But he never seemed to have days where he just wanted to sit in a small, dark space like the far corner of his room or the dusty storage cabinet near the engines and hold himself together with his own two hands and just cry himself to exhaustion.
She tried to ask him, once, on a day when he seemed brighter and calmer.
“Master?” she began.
Then she stopped. Tilted her head to one side, listening with her montrals to the happy rhythm of his heart.
“Yeah?” he asked. “Snips?”
He was glowing with happiness, so excited just from his phone call home. She wasn’t stupid. Like the rest of the 501st - and 212th - and hells, maybe even the entire Order - she knew that her Master and Senator Amidala were... a thing.
Whatever that was, exactly.
Maybe, she contemplated, not noticing that she had begun to hunch in on herself a little, shoulders drawing in, maybe that’s what Anakin had that was different. Rex had Cody and the rest of his brothers, Anakin had Senator Amidala.
Ahsoka was just by herself.
“Hey,” Anakin said, sounding a little concerned. “Ahsoka? What’s up?”
The togruta shrugged, casually sliding back into her normal relaxed and confident self, the bravado she’d created years ago when she first began to suspect that nobody would choose her as a Padawan, and then built up again when she was assigned and dropped into the middle of open warfare.
And now again, struggling always with that urge to flee somewhere warm and small and safe.
“Nothing, Master. Sheesh. I was just wondering about the next class rotation. I really don’t want to retake Galactic History level 240 just yet...”
They moved on to other subjects.
••
She tried again, a few months later, shaken after a crushing campaign that stripped the 501st of some of their best and very, very many of their newest. The shiniest shinies.
Ahsoka searched the encampment they had pitched on the darkened moor, but she could sense Anakin from a mile off.
It was just harder for her, the closer she got to that epicenter of muted rage she could sense coming off him like heatwaves off sand.
But... they could help each other.
He didn’t have Padmé Amidala here today.
Today, right now, they had each other.
Ahsoka crept up to the dimming fire, set several meters away from the outer circle of tents, and saw the dark silhouette of Anakin Skywalker sitting on a low outcropping of rock, gazing into the flames. The red glow outlined him in faintest fire, sharpening the edges that darkness had softened into shadow.
“...Master?”
He didn’t seem to hear.
“Master... Anakin?” Ahsoka stepped a little nearer.
His head turned very slightly.
She froze, suddenly a little frightened, suddenly wishing she’d found her own warm safe place to be — because the ember-lit outline of Anakin’s face were neither safe nor warm.
He looked enraged.
“Anakin?” she whispered.
“Now isn’t the best time, Ahsoka,” he said slowly. Holding back. For her.
Giving her a chance to run.
From him.
She wouldn’t. She couldn’t. Not Anakin. “But, Anakin... I think...” she took a deep breath and closed the distance between them, crouching down to place one of her hands gently on his arm. He trembled. “I think we should be together right now. Help each other.”
He shook.
There was a long pause.
Then: “Go away, Ahsoka.”
Her heart fell like a stone.
What was she supposed to do? Fleeing to a dark corner felt so wrong, so un-Jedi like, so weak — and now, to abandon her Master when he was so hurt? It felt like a double sin. She couldn’t do it. It would be wrong (but it was so tempting—)
“Master...”
“Go, Padawan! Now!” He turned to face her fully, his teeth bared in a predatory sneer that made her own sharpened fangs and hunters blood quail. A wall of blunt rage slammed into her like a blast of hot wind and Ahsoka fell back, catching herself on her palms in the cold grass.
A flash of something like guilt crossed his face, not much older than her own, but then hardened again.
“Jedi do not feel these things, Ahsoka,” he lectured. “Much less act on them. Go eat your meal and then get some sleep. Wallowing won’t help.”
Do as I say and not as I do?
Ahsoka sprang to her feet and gave in to the wild pounding of her heart and the icy fear clawing at her lungs — and she fled.
••
Ahsoka felt like she was falling.
She could feel her feet thudding against the dewy ground, could feel her montrals trembling as they picked up noises all around her, but all she could see was darkness and it felt like she was running in midair, held up by nothing.
Shadows rushed past her and her breaths came rapid and out of control.
She was dying.
She had to be.
This felt awful, terrible, there was no control —
She was just going to lose her breath and lose her senses until she died here - wherever here was -
Was she crying?
Maybe.
She couldn’t tell. Couldn’t see, couldn’t breathe, couldn’t find her way in the dark.
Ahsoka crashed.
Blindly she crawled her way into what she could sense was some sort of corner.
It was warm here.
Dark.
Safe.
The feeling of walls and a floor and some sort of low ceiling pressing in all around her small form made her feel better, not worse. She could feel where she began and the shadows ended.
Slowly... slowly... slowly, Ahsoka Tano felt her soul begin to settle back in her flesh.
She could understand her surroundings better now.
She had shoved herself under cot in somebody’s tent. It really was warm here. Soft. It smelled familiar, the smell of the armor-polish-stale-soap-homemade-brew-standard-woolen-blankets and that something other that was just their men. Their boys.
Ahsoka could feel now how tightly she was curled up, how hard she was gripping her own limbs, still shaking.
Her throat felt raw.
Had she screamed? Cried? Or just gasped too much for air that hadn’t been coming?
She didn’t know.
She didn’t know a lot right now.
Does this make me a bad Jedi?
Or just a bad solider?
Which one am I, anyway?
“Padawan?”
I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know I don’t know I don’t know I don’t —
“Ahsoka?”
She took a shuddering gasp, then another.
She just wanted some answers.
For once, some answers.
No “do or do not,” no cultural languages she couldn’t understand, no envy of what Anakin had in his Senator, the forbidden things she didn’t understand and didn’t know she really even wanted.
She just wanted to know if she was wrong for this.
She had to be.
No real Jedi cried in a corner because someone reminded them they needed to be strong.
“Ahsoka.”
Finally she looked up.
“Master?”
It was Anakin she longed to see - the Master who hadn’t wanted her but had taken her anyways, the friend she’d always needed, the teacher she could never have dreamed of.
But it wasn’t Anakin.
It was Obi-Wan.
He looked down at her, and his eyes were so compassionate that she felt her own begin to well with tears again and her throat close up painfully.
Angrily, she swiped away a tear and hid her face in her arms.
There were soft sounds that told her that Obi-Wan was kneeling in front of her now.
He didn’t do anything.
Didn’t encroach, didn’t speak.
He just breathed.
And breathed.
And breathed.
Steadily in and out, and unconsciously Ahsoka began to mirror him, taking calm and even breaths.
Eventually it was just the two of them breathing together, the Master kneeling, the Padawan still hiding from the world.
“...Master Obi-Wan?” Ahsoka asked in a small voice. She lifted her head, and was struck again by how sad and tender her grandmaster’s blue eyes were. He looked so soft and comfortable, contrasted in her head with the memory of Anakin and his fiery outline and clenched jaw.
“Anakin...” she struggled to say. “I thought he... I hoped... why...” her voice broke again.
Unable to help it, Ahsoka pitched forward, sobbing again. She had already cried so much that her throat burned in protest, but cry she did, and this time she found herself wrapped in Obi-Wan’s arms.
She had never pictured this. He had always seemed so... aloof. What Jedi were meant to be. What she was not. What Anakin was not.
“I know,” he said slowly, his voice rumbling against her striped montrals. “Our teachers are not always what we want or need them to be. But we love them anyway, Ahsoka. Don’t we.”
She nodded as she cried, letting him hold her.
“I — thought — I — how am — does — d-does this — am I a — am...” it was utter nonsense coming out, but somehow he seemed to understand.
“You,” he said, “are a student. A very young student, despite how tall you may feel some days. War is hard on everyone, Ahsoka. You deserve better. It’s all right to have times like these.”
“You... you don’t,” she sobbed.
“Oh,” he said, sounding a little surprised. “Oh. Yes I do. Of course I do. I work my way through with meditation and tea. Anakin needs to be alone, and then he needs to vent. Normally he vents to me, or to — others. But it’s not your job to handle his outbursts. When you’re hurting, you go where you need to go.”
“Even if it’s a dark corner?” Ahsoka mumbled into his tunics.
She felt him chuckle slightly. “Even then. Especially then. We’re all dealing, Padawan. I’m sorry we didn’t talk to you about this, before this happened.”
“It’s okay,” Ahsoka muttered.
What she meant was: isn’t it my Master’s job to guide me? Isn’t it Anakin’s job? Am I too weak for him?
“We’ll do better,” Obi-Wan promised.
She had a feeling he meant: I’ll try to make Anakin do better. And when he doesn’t, I will.
And there was an overwhelming flood of emotions with that.
Thank the Force for Obi-Wan. But why not Anakin? Was this forever? Was this why her Master and Master Kenobi didn’t always get along? Because they were emotionally different? Would they shun her eventually too, if she turned out different from them both?
...But for the moment, Ahsoka took comfort.
Anakin would be back to normal in the morning.
And Obi-Wan’s arms were warm, and dark, and safe.

angstpril day 1: "you have to let me go"
the five times Obi-Wan hears these words, and the one time he says them
1-Satine // 2-Qui-Gon // 3-Satine // 4-Ahsoka // 5-Anakin // +1-Luke
1
Her touch is light. A few fingers lazily intertwined with his as they sit beside one another. Knees knocking together with every restless leg shake… or perhaps, a purposeful movement. Her touch is light because Qui-Gon is in the next room, and his footsteps are virtually silent to the ear when he wants them to be-- and around the two of them it's like he's constantly padding on the tips of his toes just to raise Obi-Wan's blood pressure.
Her touch is also light because it's the last moments they have together. Satine and him seem to have different philosophies when it comes to saying goodbye. She likes to distance herself. Satine would sooner put galaxies between them and whisper her final words through a commlink than have a proper farewell. She says it's because she hates when people see her cry, so it's easier this way. While Obi-Wan doesn't like seeing her cry, he can't deny that it's when tears fall from her eyes that her eyes are bluer than the kyber crystal of his lightsaber. Breathtaking. But Obi-Wan also knows that if she starts to cry there is a fair chance he will follow close behind, which is why he lets these light touches be the thing he is etching his memory with.
If he had the choice, Satine would be wrapped in his arms, her body as close to him as they can possibly get. For as long as they can manage. He would memorize the way her hair smells, the places where their bodies fit perfectly together, and the map of her veins he likes to trace with his fingers. Given the chance, he would kiss her, kiss her the way he wished their first kiss had gone, and the way he hopes she remembers when they are worlds apart.
Her light touch twitches from its spot. Fingers separate, and he's left with nothing. Were they in the presence of others, he might accept this as their final touch, but the room is empty and Obi-Wan isn't satisfied with this goodbye. He reaches out, grabbing her hand as she stands, knowing full well she has every intention of walking out of here and not looking back.
"Please," he says. "What if I leave the--"
"You have to let me go," she says. Satine won't let him finish that sentence. Just like he would never let her finish her own version. He holds her hand for a second longer and then decides to indulge one last time.
A kiss on the back of her hand. The brush of his lips as light as her touch on his fingers, and then he lets her go.
2
His skin is cold. How can it be so icy already? Only seconds after he fell-- or so it feels-- and Qui-Gon's skin is clammy and cold. Obi-Wan is panicking. He has been trained not to panic in every situation imaginable but somehow Qui-Gon failed to instruct him what to do if he finds himself holding his dying master in his arms.
"It's… It's too late," Qui-Gon says in a tone that is much too weak for Obi-Wan to perceive as being real. Tears spring up in his eyes and drop onto Qui-Gon's chest in unceremonious splatters. It feels so un-Jedi-like to cry, but he has lost the will to care about that.
"No," the padawan protests. He shakes his head like a youngling,
"Obi-Wan," his master says. While he sees his lips moving, he is suddenly aware of Qui-Gon's voice within his head, speaking directly into their Force bond. A message only for him to hear.
"You have to let me go."
He looks at him with horror. "The medics… they will be here momentarily just hold--"
"You have to let me go, padawan. My time is over."
Even Obi-Wan feels it now. The Force wrapping around his master like a warm blanket. His skin is still cold with Obi-Wan runs his fingers along Qui-Gon's cheek, but his spirit is ablaze.
"Yes, Master."
Obi-Wan promises many things in those final moments, but the hardest comes when Qui-Gon leans back into his leg, his weight releasing and his last breath coming out like a soft gasp of relief.
3
While every other goodbye Satine has ever given has been curt and distant, leaving Obi-Wan wishing there were more, nothing prepared him for the goodbye he thought he wanted.
She lays in his lap. His arms wrapped around her, her body pressed into his chest as close as she can possibly get. Satine looks exactly as his memory stored. Golden hair he has to brush out of her smooth face, cheeks red and cheekbones high. Her hand is slipped into his and she's squeezing it hard-- were her veins not slowly releasing their content of blood he might be able to trace them with his finger like he used to when they'd lazily lay together watching the clouds overhead.
Satine's blue eyes are as vibrant as the kyber crystal that called to him as she tells him that she loves him. That she always has.
And when her hand cradles his face, a touch as light as all the rest, he is thrust back into reality. Somehow the faint touches and distant goodbyes always felt temporary. He would always see her again whether in a few months or years or decades. But somehow she is right here and already gone-- the way Satine always liked to say goodbye, especially when Obi-Wan was nowhere near ready to say it himself.
You have to let me go, she mouths to him as her eyes flutter closed. Because somehow she knows that making those her final words aloud to him would crush him in every way. When her hand falls limp at her side, he catches it.
A kiss on the back of her hand. The brush of his lips as light as her touch used to be, and though he feels like his entire world is crumbling around him, he lets her go.
4
He catches Ahsoka outside the Temple. A few tears fall from her eyes, but even as she allows him to walk next to her, she says nothing. Her shields are up. Tight. And when he looks at her he can see the dark circles under her eyes and the slouch of her shoulders. She's exhausted. Physically and mentally.
"Ahsoka," Obi-Wan stops to say when they turn the corner and he is confident they are alone. She stops but doesn't look him in the eye. "I am so sorry."
"Did you…"
"No," he says. He knows what she's going to ask, and it breaks his heart she would ever think he would. "Not for a second. I tried--"
"But it wasn't enough, I guess."
She finally looks at him. While anger, frustration, or even sadness would be expected of her, Obi-Wan is unsettled to see none of that. Rather, he sees resignation. Content. The determination that he knows all too well. His chest swells with guilt. He should have done more.
"The council will let you return," Obi-Wan says, the hope in his voice betraying him. "Even if you've already said no if you change your mind they will-- They must. They--"
"Abandoned me. The council abandoned me. Didn't believe in me. Are they even sorry?"
"The council… isn't always right."
"Master Kenobi, you're talking as though you are separate from the council."
A deep cut. He nods through the bitterness that he deserves.
"Ahsoka, whether you decide to return or not I just hope you know I tried. And I am sorry I didn't push even harder."
She nods. It isn't forgiveness but forgiveness is not what he is looking for. Just for her to listen.
"I understand. And I appreciate you coming after me. But you have to let me go."
So Obi-Wan stops. Immediately, and she almost looks shocked when he does, but she keeps on walking through the stutter-step of surprise. Her eyes linger on him for a moment long, and then her mouth that has been so set on remaining neutral flickers into a sad frown. Obi-Wan doesn't have to see her sadness for long, for his grand-padawan is as strong in will as she is in battle and she looks forward to her path unknown. Ahsoka doesn’t look back, and he doesn't expect her to.
He didn't listen to her once, and he won't make that mistake again.
5
Ten years since they battled on Mustafar, and still, standing in front of the man that was once his padawan, brother, and friend, has not gotten easier. He is more machine than man now. A glistening sculpture with a mangled interior he knows too well. The strangest part of it all is feeling his signature in the Force. Though he looks like Vader and sounds like an asthmatic bantha, and nothing about him is remotely reminiscent of Anakin Skywalker, the Force still registers his presence as a person Obi-Wan knows well.
"I always wonder if you are still in there, my friend," Obi-Wan says. His saber is already drawn, ready for a redo of the battle he thinks about on a daily basis. With any hope, he can right the wrongs he made a decade ago.
"You have to let Anakin Skywalker go," the Sith says, the annoyance in his voice palpable even through the respirator. "He died on Mustafar, where you killed him."
"It's funny, I remember that going differently. I remember Vader being the one who silenced my brother and took advantage of his power."
"Then this shall be a fight for who writes history."
Vader is the first to lunge, but Obi-Wan is ready. He never forgot the sound their lightsabers made clashing together as enemies ten years ago, and today it is all the same.
+1
The Force is singing at a time when Obi-Wan would least expect the Force to have any sort of positive opinion. How this situation can yield any good is far beyond the old man, but he has learned over the years there is no point in arguing with the will of the Force.
Vader is relentless. Since their last battle he has only grown stronger, and once he learns of Luke-- who is conveniently also present in this space station of destruction-- his lust for power will swell with the idea of having his son at his side. Luke is strong, kind, and well-balanced for as untrained as he is. Obi-Wan senses greatness from the boy, but all that will fail if he allows Vader to win.
So he seeks him out. Battles him yet again in a test of wits and swordsmanship. Nineteen years on Tatooine has made Obi-Wan rusty in some senses, but there is one thing he can count on.
Whether Vader admits it or not, Anakin is in there. He can see it in the way he duels, the way the wheels turn in his head and he approaches battles. Anakin was always creative and quick, using his environment as well as his lightsaber to attack from all sides. Vader is the same fighter behind that sword. While he may not be as limber in his cyborg suit, there is a part of him that is still Anakin. If that is the case, then the Force is singing because the time has finally come.
Are you sure? He asks the Force. Though it doesn't reply in Galactic Basic, as would be most convenient, it does wrap around him like a warm blanket. Obi-Wan can feel the Force that flows within him go ablaze, and the feeling is a familiar one.
Obi-Wan looks through the open blast doors as Luke runs in, his mouth open in awe and eyes filled with worry. He looks at Vader, too enthralled in the fight to pay any attention to the importance of the person just a handful of meters away. And the old Jedi Master smiles.
Vader staggers. Obi-Wan can practically see Anakin behind the mask doing a double-take. Wondering what in the world he could be thinking to be losing their duel and grinning at him.
Obi-Wan raises his lightsaber. I'll see you soon, Master, he says into the Force, and as Vader's swings through the air, he hears Luke cry out in protest, and then nothing at all.
"No!" Luke yells, immediately regretting his outburst when five stormtroopers take notice of their position and start firing. He can see Ben's cloak in a heap on the ground in front of the murderous monster that just cut through him, and out of desperation to save Old Ben, he starts firing back at the troopers.
Han and Leia are yelling at him to get on the Millennium Falcon, but he has already downed one trooper, and he can get the rest! He can get the rest and defeat Vader and--
"Luke," a voice says. His head turns by instinct, but it isn't a voice speaking to him aloud, nor is it Han or Leia's voice. "You have to let me go."
"Ben? Ben are you--"
"Go, Luke. All will be revealed in time."
Luke stands for a moment in a daze until Han screaming at him to blast the door pulls him out of the trance. He does as he's told, and as Vader marches toward him the blast doors slam shut in his face, separating him from the monster that killed Ben.
"Run, Luke, run." Ben's voice rings in his head. He doesn't understand it, but he listens.

Give Me Love
Chapter Five
Wc: 1.4k
MASTERLIST
Smut warning!
Tumblr media
Something magical was born that night. After Anakin dropped you off back at your apartment, you struggled to return to the real world. You walked around your living space in a daze, turning on the lights and tidying up idly as you struggled to get a grip on yourself.
“How’d it go?”
You jumped at the feminine voice, inquiring casually from the couch. You flicked the living room light on, finding Sabè wrapped in a blanket there, reading her holopad.
“You scared me,” your voice was numb.
“I’m sorry,” she shoved the blanket off as soon as she took in your odd appearance. Something happened. She stood, placing her hands on your arms so she could gage your emotions more clearly. You were stiff, blank. Emotionless. “Is… is everything alright? Did it go well?”
“He said he likes me,” your eyes clouded with moisture without your consent, throat closing up. “Sabè, he said he likes me.”
“Oh, Y/n,” she brought your face into her shoulder as you breathed out a silent cry. Her hands squeezed your arms, moving to glide down the path of your hair. “Why are you crying? Isn’t this good news?”
“Mhm,” you nodded into her neck, allowing a few more tears to trickle out before cutting yourself off. You took a few deep, shuddering breaths before pulling back, wiping your eyes with the palms of your hands. “I’m sorry. Tonight was just really stressful. And emotional. I just needed to let it out.”
“That’s okay, I understand,” Sabè’s voice was sweet as she played with the ends of your hair. You were glad she was here, even if you were confused why. If anyone knew how to deal with stress and anxiety, it was her. Being a Repulican Representative, she often had to stand in front of thousands, offering debates and speeches to some of the nastiest people in the galaxy. You knew it was no easy ride for her, either-- she had feelings just like anyone else, although she had perfected the art of controlling them all her life. Much like a Jedi.
“Sabè, I’m happy to see you but… can I ask what you’re doing here so late? Is everything okay?”
“Yeah,” Sabè nodded, frowning as she caught the last of your tears with the back of her finger. “I just wanted to make sure you got home safe.”
“I was with Anakin Skywalker, you didn’t think I’d be safe?”
“Let a friend worry,” she rolled her eyes teasingly. “Anyway, I better get going now. I’ve got a ridiculous amount of reading to do tomorrow. Big debate coming up.”
“Make sure to take some time for yourself,” you reminded her, following her to your door. Your heart squeezed with appreciation for your friend. Despite being busy and overworking herself, she still found time to sacrifice to make sure you were okay. You didn’t deserve her, or Ahsoka either for that matter. You still felt like you didn’t even deserve Anakin’s affections. It all felt like a dream.
“Will do,” Sabè squeezed your arm one last time before crossing the door. “Have a goodnight, Y/n.”
And a good night, you did have.
+++
You tossed and turned wildly in your bed. For some reason, you just couldn’t get comfortable. It certainly didn’t help that your stomach was still clenching uncomfortably, heart still racing like you were back in that diner.
Relax. You don’t have to be so nervous around me.
The deep rumble of his voice had your eyes shooting open. You could hear it in your head as clearly as he had murmured to you in the restaurant. Why was that so… hot?
Your stomach panged again, this time met with a throb down below. It had been doing that a lot tonight, and you were beginning to think you would have to deal with it before you could get any sleep. It was getting awfully late, and you knew if you didn’t get to bed soon, you would pay for it tomorrow.
Begrudgingly, you slipped a hand from beneath your pillow down your body, sneaking in into your panties. It’s what you usually wore to bed, although usually they weren’t so damp with arousal. Tonight, you just couldn’t get the sound of Anakin’s honey sweet voice out of your head, whispering confirmation of your greatest fantasies, soothing your every worry with that silky soft voice of his...
And then that thumb— that cursed thumb.
The first touch of your fingers on your clit had your hips flinch. What was that? You were never that sensitive. But tonight— tonight, something was different. Something had shifted. And with each stroke of your fingers over your nub, you thought back to your evening with Anakin.
How his broad shoulders had shifted as he laughed. How those plump lips pulled over perfect white teeth into a dashing smile. Those dark eyes, so intense and probing, so curious and soothing. The soft curls of his hair…
You wished you could sift your fingers through them. A spark of excitement shot up your spine as you realized… now you probably can. With this newfound thing going on between you two, you could probably do a lot more than play with his hair. Your center throbbed at the thought, a knot of anticipation and thrill causing your breath to hitch.
Your mind continued to replay the night, focusing on all the little details that had escaped your notice in the throw of things— the long length of his legs circling around the front of the car in three easy steps, the expert grip of his metal hand on the steering wheel, the sharp curve of his jaw as he focused on the road…
Was the simple thought of Anakin driving a speeder making you this wet? You huffed out a breath, deciding to just go with it as you brought the slick up, the added lubrication of your arousal aiding in the slide of your fingers against your nub.
Now, we do whatever you want.
Your fingers copied the movement his thumb had traced, first on the mug, then on your hand. Gentle and slow, back and forth, over and over. You thought of how good that simple touch had felt, and how good it might feel somewhere else. It had you thrashing your hips against your own hand, legs beginning to shake as the pleasure heightened.
Your cheeks burned, the image of his thumb replacing your own hand.
I’d like to… be with you. In whatever way that might please you.
Did he mean for those words to have a double implication? Or was he just naturally that seductive?
You couldn’t dwell on it much longer. Your fingers picked up speed, spreading slick all around your throbbing nub, chasing the bliss that was just a hair’s length away. You just needed one little thing to push yourself over—
His lips wrapping around the straw of your iced tea. He’d asked to try it because he’d never had it before, and you happily handed it over, not even realizing how sinful the image of those full, rosy lips would look wrapped around that little straw. Your cheeks burned hotter, fingers working faster, pleasure snapping to a peak—
You couldn’t stop the strangled moan from leaving your lips as your hips bucked off the bed, thighs clenching over your hand. Your orgasm washed over you in waves, body shuttering with each aftershock. Breathing hard, you collected the new slick that gushed out of you with a finger. Since when do you cum like that with your own hand?
Since when do you cum like that to the thought of someone you actually know?
Shame threw a blanket over your elation. Did you really just… touch yourself… to Anakin? Wasn’t that a breach of privacy? How disrespectful could you be?
Realistically, you knew he’d never have to know. But morally… you felt awful. You felt like you breached his trust somehow, used him for pleasure without him even knowing.
But if it was so wrong… why did it feel so good?
The crashing throes of your high left your mind feeling sleepy. Turning onto your stomach, you decided it’d be best to war with yourself tomorrow— today had been a long day, full of many heightened emotions. Tomorrow would be your reset, and you’d be able to make things right.
A good night’s sleep is all you needed to feel better.

A/N: Yeah that’s right, I’m back mostly fully now and yes I am writing the requests I have! JJ - I hope you like this! I LOVE U TOO! It’s funny to start off with and then goes angsty and then goes super fluffy and is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. I was aiming for a little 500 word blurb... it stands at 1.7ish i think 💀
So if you haven’t been reading my Clone Wars Reacts series, you probably aren’t aware that I am a massive simp for Plo Koon (and others characters 🤦‍♀️)and if this is you deciding to read them here’s the link to my masterlist, which has all the parts posted already.
Glimpse
Word Count: 1.7k Pairing: Plo Koon x Jedi!Reader Summary: Anakin running late, an awful sense of foreboding, and one thing that you were yet to say, mixed with a glimpse of a future you couldn’t have. What could possibly go wrong?

The reasons why you agreed to go on a mission on Skywalker seemed to escape you at the moment. His plans, though working occasionally, had the reputation of heavy damage and being absurdly reckless. You did however, enjoy working with Ahsoka, though she could be just as bull-headed as Anakin on occasion. Maybe it was for her sake that you joined the mission?
The plan had originally been for you to lead a small troop of men in quietly, retrieve the data you needed, and then Skywalker would swoop in and distract them so that you could escape. The entry went well, and collecting the data happened without a hitch, but you were spotted on the way out and Skywalker was late. Again. And to make things worse, your comms stopped working a very long time ago.
“If you concentrated on getting out instead of what you’re thinking, we might just survive.”
Ah, that’s why you came on this blasted trip.
“Well maybe if you focused on this, instead of your sarcasm, we may live past the next 10 minutes, Plo.”
You’d known the Kel-dor for many years, almost as long as you’d been a Jedi, but the feelings you had for him were only a few years old, and started shortly after you began going on regular missions with him. He always had put the wellbeing of others ahead of his own, which was frustrating to no end, but endearing all the same. He knew that you had a way of overthinking every situation and very quickly becoming a ‘stress head’, so he always simplified the instructions and looked for the tell-tale signs of you steadily becoming unstuck. Always waiting for the clones to get on board an escape pod, making sure there were enough supplies, somehow always having all the answers and a witty response. It was the little things at any rate.
Like now for example, as you both knelt behind a box, trying to catch your breath, and he was trying to use humour as a way of distracting you from the very real possibility of dying by the hands of a droid.
You stretched up from your crouch and turned to look over the box. Oh shit, there’s an entire battalion of droids just a few meters – oh, and that one’s pointing- oh.
With a sharp tug, Plo pulled you back down, the blaster bolt whizzing past where your eyes had been only half a second ago. Despite not being able to see his eyes and mouth, he still gave you an exasperated expression.
“Be more-”
“I was fine! I saw it coming and I was going to move!” The Kel-dor ran a hand across his forehead, although, at this point he should be used to this type of behaviour from you.
Despite the joking and poking fun, your stomach was sinking further by the minute. As you just realised, if you stepped out, you would surely be shot instantly. A vast majority of the clone troopers had long since been torn apart. Swallowing, you closed your eyes, and leaned back resting your head on the box. There is no way either of you are going to surrender and get captured, but you both were aware of the fact that you likely weren’t making it out of this either.
Your shoulder was burning, and your ribs and abdomen ached, and there was a blaster burn on your leg. Another hand wrapped around your own, and squeezed it tight. Trying to stop shaking, you spoke.
“I – we’re not getting out of this one…” You turned your head and opened your eyes, finding his face. His eyes were turned down at the edges, and his shoulders were slumped the smallest bit. “Are we?”
Plo turned and took a similar position to you, not letting go of your hand.
“We must not think like-”
“Be realistic we-”
“It’s going to be-”
“Don’t- don’t you dare say it’ll be fine-”
“Skywalker-”
“isn’t coming! Or- or if he is, he’ll be too late!” you couldn’t stop your voice from shaking now, stuttering more with every word that came out.  Plo’s head hung and you could see the weight of your words hanging on him.
“At um – at least we’ll go out as we are, teasing the s-shit out of each other, you old man.” He let a laugh drift out of the mask.
“Don’t call me old, youngling.” You laughed back, smirking all the while. If you’re going to die here – if technically you wouldn’t be jedi – your heart raced at the thought. The code was – well if you’re dead you can’t very well follow the code, now can you?
“I- I um I love you.” As soon as it was out, you felt lighter and heavier all at once. His back straightened so fast the back of his head nearly whacked the crate. When he finally turned to you, his brows were sitting much further up on his face than what they had been before, so you traced every corner on his face with your eyes, just in case. His hand squeezed yours tighter.
“I- well I wanted to say it without stuttering, and preferably when we weren’t a few minutes from death, but well- I guess there’s really no time like the present?” He still hadn’t moved, frozen and staring at you. Oh, no. You waved your free hand in front of his face, trying to break his stupor.
“Plo? Are you-”
“I love you too.”
You couldn’t help but smile, your hand moving to his face instead, moving your thumb across his cheekbone. Idly, you noticed that he hadn’t let go of your other hand yet. His hand moved the hair from your face, smudging the ash and dirt also. With a hand on the back of your head, he gently pulled so your foreheads pressed together. Your eyes slid shut, and you concentrated on the feeling of warmth and light that this brought. If this was the last thing you remembered before death, then you would die happily. For now, you savoured the few seconds you had sitting there. You sighed, and opened your eyes.
“I – just-”
“I know.” You pulled away, and despite the happiness of a few seconds before, a sense of foreboding sat heavily in your chest. You swallowed harder, and moved to grab your lightsaber. You grasped it tight, and ignited the glowing blade. Next to you, you heard his blade reveal itself. Your muscles in your legs tensed, and you braced your shoulders. One more time. When you turned to him, he was still looking at you, with a sad expression that rivalled your own. You shuffled so you were instead in a crouch, ready to fight. Might as well go out swinging.
You took a deep breath and steeled your nerves. For a second before you stood, you couldn’t hear anything. When you thought back and remembered it, there was the sound of droid’s legs and chatter, of occasional blaster fire of those who were left, and your lightsaber humming in your ear. At the time, there was nothing. You just kept staring at Plo, hoping that somehow, you’d get more of this, more than 5 seconds.
Faster than a blink, you got a glimpse of a future that could have been. Cold nights on Coruscant, wrapped up in blankets, watching the night sky past by. Daybreak, curled up in each other’s arms, feeling the glow of sun come in. On missions with small troops of trusted clones, being able to be open with your relationship. Sneaking around before council meetings, trying to savour what moments you could before missions. Feeling like young padawan’s again, running around quietly. Visions of you leaving the order, years from now, quoting being unable to stick to the code, Plo following shortly after. Of you building a home, your stomach steadily growing outwards.
And just like that it was over, and you were stuck with a reality of death.
Your throat burned and your vision blurred. Now.
And then Plo’s hand desperately grabbing yours and pulling you down again, a shrill beeping coming from his wrist. Your heart pulsed in your ears and you looked to the sky. Of course.
“Sorry, we were busy dealing with Ventress! How are you holding up?” A scathing laugh burst out of your throat. The droids were falling back, away from your position at the sight of the sheer number of Republic soldiers. You laid back on the dirt, feeling the sun on your skin, soaking up whatever light you could. It was only now that you felt the weight lift, where the light feeling of relief took its place. Plo begun to answer Anakin. You cut him off with a venomous tone.
“We’re a-”
“We’re alive, you’re late, and I am going to kill you, Skywalker.” There was an audible sigh that sounded suspiciously amused from Plo as he made to stand.
“I wasn’t that la-”
“Don’t even finish that sentence.”
Plo’s hand reached down and hovered near your face, though you ignored it and shot up on your own, winding your arms around his neck. He softly grunted as you laughed and the realisations began to sink in. Maker, we nearly died. We were very nearly dead. You nearly had to watch the man you fell in love with die.
Whilst your mind rambled, he pulled apart, and was still brushing the hair from your forehead again. You hadn’t noticed, but he was taking in every freckle, wrinkle and scar you had, like you had been doing to him not too long ago.
You nearly died. Plo nearly died. You almost didn’t get to say – oh, no. You told him. You thought you were going to die and you told him. But now you’re not going to die. And he said it back.
He said your name and whisked you from the spiral. His leathery forehead leant down and pressed against yours.
“I love you.”
Maker, he said it again. You grinned, and pulled him closer. You wanted to say it one thousand times at the top of your lungs, and suddenly the glimpse didn’t seem as far out of reach as it had a few minutes ago.
“I love you too.”

(you taught me) the courage of stars
Summary: “I know what it is like, Ahsoka.” Obi-Wan tells her. “I know what it is to leave the Jedi with nothing more than the clothes on your back and the knowledge that you are doing the right thing.”
Or: Ahsoka Tano flees after a warrant for her arrest is issued, but not before receiving aid from an unexpected ally. (Ahsoka proceeds to go on a road trip filled with a bunch of strangers who all say the same thing: Obi-Wan Kenobi is much more than he has ever appeared to be.)
Warnings: Canon typical violence, abuse (childhood, emotional, physical, mental), mind control.
Pt. 1.
Pt. 2, Pt. 3, AO3
Notes:
This idea has been bopping around in my head for a WHILE, y'all. It's basically an amalgamation of my dreadful desire to put Obi-Wan through pain while also giving him some Therapy Because Boy-Howdy Does He Need It and my absolute adoration for Ahsoka Tano. The basic premise of this fic is: What would happen if when Ahsoka left the Order, she went on a road trip through all of the worst hits of Obi-Wan's childhood?
Bonding. Bonding is what would happen.
Title from 'Saturn' by Sleeping At Last.
Nautical Dawn
Ahsoka runs.
Rain sheets down around the togruta, digging into her skin like a million icy knives. Her soaked clothes weigh her down as she sprints blindly, plastered to her, dragging against her limbs. She is chilled to the bone, but not from the storm.
There is no one here to look closely, to separate her tears from the rest of the water obscuring her vision. She takes a turn, breath hitching beneath her ribs as she passes into a tunnel free of rainwater. There is a light at the end, beckoning, promising freedom. She’s almost out. She’s almost free.
She shouldn’t have to worry about being free.
Footsteps sound behind her as she runs, hurrying after her. Panic closes her throat and Ahsoka tilts, stumbling off balance. She throws out a hand, gasping as the Force rises to meet her command, buffeting her back to her feet. If she can just get to the end of the tunnel--
“Ahsoka, wait!”
Ahsoka had been prepared for Skyguy’s voice to ring out behind her. She’d seen the look on his face, knew he’d look for her when she ran. She’d been prepared for law enforcement, or even Master Windu or Koon to come looking for her--someone with experience hunting for Force Signatures on crowded planets. She’d thought she could do this. After all, if she could turn her back on Anakin, what couldn't she do?
Ahsoka hadn’t thought Master Kenobi would come for her.
“Stay back!” The words tear from her throat, scraping it raw. Her lips burn, her eyes burn. She whirls on him, knowing she must look crazed, deranged, animalistic. Good. Let him see what the Order has done to her. “Stay away!”
Further back down the tunnel, Obi-Wan Kenobi raises his hands to shoulder height and plants his feet. His fringe is plastered to his skin too, and his robes and armor drip rainwater steadily to the filthy concrete below, as if he’d simply bolted after her instead of manning a speeder or taking a transport. His chest heaves in time with Ahsoka’s. Her muscles clench and release, her spine a hot iron rod in her back. The Force whispers in her ears, loud, wanting attention. But Ahsoka pushes it away. It’s hard to hear the Force on Coruscant, sometimes almost painful; there are too many Force Signatures here, and too much turmoil clouding her perception. She can’t let it distract her now.
“I’m not going to hurt you, Ahsoka.” Obi-Wan says. His face twists with the words. Ahsoka wonders if he’s noticed her tears.
“Don’t come near me. I won’t go back to the Temple.” You can’t make me, she almost continues, but the words can’t be forced from her mouth. She bites her tongue instead, shuffling back, and ignores the tang of blood. The whole thing is almost laughable; in any other situation she’d sound like a petulant teenager. Master Kenobi wants her to go to her room. You can’t ground me because I’m not part of this family anymore!
Ahsoka feels sick. She takes another step back. She sees Obi-Wan’s eyes widen. He does not move.
“I’m not trying to take you back to the Temple.”
The words make no sense; they sound like static in her ears. Nerves make Ahsoka snarl at him. It’s a trick, it has to be; the great Negotiator, giving up his prey without a fight, without argument? The Council no doubt sent him after her, and Ahsoka isn’t going to fall for it just because he has a friendly face. They’d have better luck sending Anakin.
“I’m not going to take the fall for something I didn’t do!”
“I am not asking you to,” Obi-Wan replies, and raises his voice over Ahsoka’s incredulous protests as she opens her mouth again, venom on her tongue. “I am asking you to listen to me now because we don't have much time before law enforcement realizes I’ve slipped them and begins searching for both of us. I think one of them might have put a tracker on me, so you’ll need to get as far away from here as possible after we’re done, am I making myself clear?”
No, Ahsoka thinks, mind swirling with questions and accusations, panicked. You aren’t being clear at all. “Why did you follow me if--if you’re not going to arrest me?”
“I need to give you this.”
Master Kenobi lowers one hand, his movements stiffly telegraphed, and holds out his open palm. From his damp glove float three items, bright enough to catch the low light but too small to make out in the shadows they stand in; Ahsoka catches them with the Force thoughtlessly, the movement second nature. It’s almost like the old games they used to play in the creche, rolling a ball back and forth with only the Force. She does not look down at what he’s given her, only closes her fists around them and stares. The Force pulses around the objects in her hand, curling around Ahsoka as she inspects Master Kenobi, looking for some reaction, anything to analyze how he's feeling or what he's thinking. But Obi-Wan's not moving, not making any motions towards her. His voice is clear and hard and not unkind. He stands as parade rest and makes sure Ahsoka can see his hands.
Ahsoka blinks, startled as she realizes that Obi-Wan does not have his lightsaber on him. Not that he isn’t a threat unarmed, but--has he underestimated her? Perhaps he hoped he could manipulate Ahsoka into coming back with him?
Or does he not intend to do anything of the sort?
“The datachip is encrypted,” Obi-Wan tells her like Ahsoka isn’t reeling. He speaks quickly, businesslike, as if he's about to lead Ahsoka into battle rather than--rather than help her run from the law. “But it’s nothing you won’t be able to slice into. I couldn’t get ahold of your sabers, I’m sorry. I wish I could’ve--but there was no time. Do you have a way off planet yet?”
Numb, Ahsoka shakes her head.
Obi-Wan nods and his hair flops with the movement, flicking water down his nose and cheeks. The urge to laugh hysterically bubbles in Ahsoka's chest, but she swallows it. He points over her shoulder, out of the tunnel. “Head to Dex’s diner, in the lower levels. He’ll be able to get you on a ship wherever you want to go. Check the chip if you can't think of somewhere safe. There will be papers waiting for you.”
“You--you’re letting me go?”
His lips twitch into a simulacra of his usual smile. It looks wooden. “Yes.”
“Why?”
Anakin wouldn’t do this. Anakin would ask her to stay, implore her not to leave. Does Obi-Wan want her to go? Does he think she really did it--that she hurt their family?
He wants nothing more to do with Ahsoka. He’s throwing her away like day old trash, just like the rest of the Jedi.
There’s a soothing wash of calm in the Force; it emanates from her grandmaster, rolling in waves towards her own nexus of grief and pain and fear. For a moment, Ahsoka lets it wrap around her, a comforting blanket against the cold that has enveloped her for days. Then she comes to her senses and, horrified at her own childishness, shakes it off. Obi-Wan is still smiling that awful, empty smile. “I know what it is like, Ahsoka.” Obi-Wan tells her. “I know what it is to leave the Jedi with nothing more than the clothes on your back and the knowledge that you are doing the right thing.”
Unable to help herself, Ahsoka lashes out, cruelty squirming sickly in her stomach. She wants--she wants Obi-Wan to stop talking, she wants him to feel her devastation, she wants him to see how she is crumbling beneath the weight of what his Council has done to her. “You don’t know anything about what I feel!”
Obi-Wan loses his smile; his face looks strange; it is as if Ahsoka has never quite seen him before. He is old and worn. There is a deep sorrow carved into his skin. His gaze unfocusses for a split second, eyes far away while he looks at her. She shivers; it isn't Ahsoka Obi-Wan sees standing before him. There’s something else there too, down underneath the rest of it, something that makes the lump in her throat triple in size, something she can’t name. The gifts Obi-Wan gave her bite into the skin of her palms, the datachip and whatever its companions are drawing Ahsoka’s blood in the darkness of this tunnel. Escape looms at her back.
“Yes, Ahsoka. I do. Now you must go--flee!”
Ahsoka runs.
As she does, one question burns into Ashoka's mind: if she asked Master Obi-Wan to come with her, would he?

Found you (II/?)
This is really hard to come up with and I don’t know why! You know, I love Dogma. But I think I don’t love writing him...
Ao3    Brothers-AU     Part I
   *~*
For a long time they just sat there, Dogma trembled every now and then and finally, Ahsoka slipped off her robe and wrapped it around his shoulders. The men checked on them a few times, but held themselves in the background. Dogma didn't seem to notice. „Kamino?“, he finally asked quietly, his voice small and lost. „Has nothing to say about any clone anymore.“, Ahsoka assured him and he nodded against her shoulder. „Krell?“, he asked after a few minutes of silence. Damn it, for Dogma this had only happened recently, while Ahsoka had long buried Krell deep in her memories. „Wasn't a Jedi anymore, you are okay.“, she muttered and Dogma nodded again, he seemed to collect his thoughts. „Tup?“, the question was even quieter than the last two, it almost ripped Ahsoka's heart out. „No, I'm sorry Dogma.“, she replied softly and felt Dogma just dully nod again. He looked numb. They wouldn't get anywhere like that... „How about we go and look for your bunk?“, suggested Ahsoka softly and Dogma winced violently, she hastily put her scarred hand on the back of his head and let his face rest on her shoulder again. „It's okay, I'll stay right here.“, she quickly rowed back and waited.
Her back became stiff from sitting for a long time, her neck ached and there was a hint of a headache that began high in her Montrals. The last few days had been... long. She wasn't really tired, just empty. Drained. Curling up on the floor in her study with the others sounded very tempting. „I'm sorry.“, Dogma suddenly mumbled quietly and as if by reflex Ahsoka ran her fingers over his short hair. „You don't have to feel sorry for anything. I'm sorry that we didn't get you earlier.“, she replied quietly and when the clone started to get up she released him from her embrace and moved away slightly, giving him room to straighten himself. His eyes were red and slightly puffy. But he seemed calmer. „You were looking for me?“, he asked softly and rubbed his arms under her robe, shivering. Ahsoka nodded hastily, she had a lot to make up for! „Of course. I'm sorry that I couldn't be a better sister to you before.“, she apologized again and Dogma winced, but this time he managed a small smile. „I would be fine, if we could become friends. Sir.“, he muttered and it conjured a real smile on Ahsoka's face. This time she would do it right! And she would not lose this friend, because the war was over. Carefully she offered him her hand. „Friends?“, she took up his suggestion and when he clasped her fingers his hands were cold, but his grip was gentle. „Friends.“
Her comlink blinked at her demanding and Dogma watched her throw the thing a restless look. „I'm holding you back, am I?“, he muttered and Ahsoka shot him a sharp look. „Say that never again. I'll take as much time for my men, as each one needs.“ Taking a deep breath, she paused. „But I would really like to take a look at the others. Would it be okay if I call Kix?“, she asked and although Dogma's shoulders tensed, he nodded curtly. She didn't want to stress him any more than necessary, but her brothers would certainly do their best to care for Dogma. She notified Kix. „Grab Thud and check on Dogma a little bit, okay? I'll go out and assign each men a medic.“, she murmured, Thud would certainly get along wonderfully with Dogma. The young clone was quiet and reserved. And he would take Dogma with him to Hug, who was perfectly gentle. „Good, now that we have the capacity. Give me a few seconds.“, Kix answered tinny and cut the connection.
Ahsoka slowly turned to Dogma, he watched her. His eyes shone tiredly, but he no longer flinched with every move she made. „I called Thud too, he will help you find a bunk. Is that okay, or should I call someone else?“ Dogma shrugged. „You are the general.“, he muttered and Ahsoka sighed, she shook her head. This would be some hard work. „And you have the right to say no.“, she countered and this time he actually smiled gratefully. „I know. Thanks sir.“ Footsteps sounded and Kix entered, carefully followed by Thud. Neither of them wore helmets. Ahsoka rose. „If you need anything, let me know.", she informed everyone and with a gentle smile she disappeared out into the corridor.
Dogma wasn't sure what to do with the situation. Tup, his batchmate, was gone. The world he had returned to seemed to be different from the one he had left. And Comm- General Tano was so much older! And calmer. And looking at Kix now was like looking into a different face than back then. The Medic had lost the hard pull on his mouth, instead fine lines had dug themselves around his eyes. They made him look tired and sad. It was all strange, but the hair was even stranger! Kix had ALWAYS found time to maintain his hairstyle. Why did he stop doing that? And he wasn't wearing blue, his armor was now adorned in bronze. „Dogma.“, the medic suddenly greeted and his soft voice tore Dogma from his thoughts. Had Kix always sounded so calm? He didn't know, had only spent time with him on the battlefield. „Sir...“, Dogma answered uncertainly and watched as Kix put down his backpack and came a little closer. „May I?“, he asked, Dogma couldn't remember the medics ever asking for his permission! He shrugged his shoulders a little and Kix sat down next to him on the uncomfortable cot, who had covered it with blankets?
Kix pulled his backpack towards him and opened it, rummaging around a little. When he looked up they both paused. No, these couldn't be tears. Medics didn't cry, Dogma was 100% sure of that. Right? And yet Kix's eyes shimmered suspiciously... „Kriff.“, Dogma muttered and hastily pressed his lips together again. Strictly speaking, Kix was ranked far above him. He had no right to speak so freely in front of him, that was wrong. But it had also been wrong to practically cling to his new general. Kix laughed dryly, ah. There was the trooper Dogma knew. „I'm so sorry.“, the medic sighed and rubbed his face with one hand before he called up the most important vitals of his patient with a small scanner. Dogma eyed him critically, he had never heard these words from Kix. Or even just thought that he would ever apologize for something...
Dogma did not find the capacity to do anything with this excuse. So he was silent and observed, before he had never taken the time for something like that. Just watch his brothers without a list of rules in the back of his mind. It was more interesting than had Dogma expected. Kix moved slowly but purposefully. Whenever he noted something on his datapad, he relaxed his jaw a little and every time he touched Dogma, he gritted his teeth. Dogma's gaze wandered aimlessly upwards, what was he actually doing here? Back then, just a few hours ago, so THEN... he had left the shuttle and accepted his death. And now he was sitting here!? „I think we got you back with no permanent damage... Maybe a little malnourished.“, Kix grumbled and Dogma nodded without really listening. „I'll see that he gets something nice.“, the other clone announced quietly, but Dogma winced violently nontheless. General Tano had brought two men here, but he had completely forgotten about the other clone next to Kix. „Dogma, this is Thud. Is it okay if he shows you your bunk?“, Kix asked carefully and Dogma took a few deep breaths, okay. Maybe a new face was good? He eyed Thud briefly, fine bronze stripes ran across his breastplate. The color of General Tano? Then he studied Thud's face and Dogma was surprised at how young he looked. Without the fine lines of worry and the shadows under his eyes, he looked years younger than Kix. His eyes seemed kind.
Dogma nodded and Kix seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, Thud smiled. When he reached out his hand to Dogma, he took it and let himself be carefully pulled to his feet. The world turned around him for a moment, then he caught himself and followed Thud out into the hallway. The cell block seemed unchanged, that was something at least. However, there was a lot more going on in the corridor than he expected. A few steps further he could see General Tano, she was standing close together with a soldier who Dogma did not know. But his ARC equipment and the blue handprint on a bronze background made it impossible, to oversee him. Ahsoka gave Dogma an encouraging look and the ARC next to her eyed him curiously, before he smiled encouragingly too. Dogma stared at her briefly and hesitated before nodding uncertainly in response. How else would you react when someone smiled at you like that? Except Tup, nobody had done that in a while. When Tano just kept watching him, Dogma turned and followed Thud.
On the way to the quarters, Dogma rarely let his gaze wander, most of the time he concentrated on Thud's back. That was easier, than to meet the eyes that followed him. So the hand came out of nowhere on his shoulder, he looked up frantically. Thud stopped and watched Appo take off his helmet with one hand and he grinned like a complete idiot.
Dogma just stood there, hands hanging uselessly, staring at Appo. He had never exchanged more than a few words with the other clone. What should he do now? „It's good to have you back.“, Appo smiled, squeezed his shoulder and then disappeared again with great strides. He turned the next corner. Appo was happy to see him again? Dogma blinked once, then twice. Had the others lost their minds? Nobody had ever been happy to see him again! Confused, he gave Thud a look, the younger clone smirked and then motioned for Dogma to follow him on. „Come on, Commander Rex has chosen a nice spot for you.“, he said in his soft voice and Dogma almost tripped over his own feet. The commander? Rex? Okay ... that was ... good. He remembered Rex as very headstrong but faithful. The rank of commander suited him, kind of.
He had just finished thinking when Thud stopped and opened the door to one of the quarters. Dogma looked up and met several smiling faces. He recognized one of them. „Welcome home.“, Burnes smiled and the corners of Dogma's mouth twitched up into a small smile, even as he lowered his eyes. Home huh? Even with Tup, it had been hard to feel at home anywhere. But when Thud grabbed his wrist and carefully pulled him into the room, he thought he could at least give this a chance.

wow look at the time! time for more modern fluff! this drabble is the first part of a several part story thread discussed with @tomicaleto who also wrote the first part of this drabble which you can (and should) read here
When Obi-Wan woke up the next morning, he was surprised to not smell coffee brewing from the kitchen. He was surprised to see that Anakin was still in bed, and he contemplated waking him up. But he retracted his arm after reaching out, deciding that it was better to let Anakin sleep. He realized as he watched Anakin's chest rise and fall, that the semester had ended. Anakin didn't have any classes to get to at 8 in the morning, and instead, was only working, instead of going to school as well. Obi-Wan looked up, watching as a few snowflakes gently floated down to the surface. He watched as weak rays of sunlight came in through the gaps in the blinds, lighting up Anakin's face- who was still buried under the covers. He saw dark circles, a little splash of freckles, beautiful golden curls that he reached over and brushed away, and most of all he saw his husband. Peacefully sleeping beside him. Anakin shifted in his sleep, pulling the covers up even higher as the light hit his face. Obi-Wan smiled softly, watching as even in his sleep, Anakin reached out for him and his warmth.
Obi-Wan turned away, reaching over on the nightstand for his phone and checked the time. It was mid-morning. Anakin never stayed in bed this long. He looked back over at Anakin, whose chest was still rising steadily. He watched as Anakin continued to sleep, curled up under the large comforter that he had insisted on getting for their bed. It was a deep grey, thicker than the other ones in the store. But Anakin had insisted- stating that Obi-Wan liked to sleep with the temperature lower than the arctic. Obi-Wan had huffed, but eventually gave in, agreeing to the comforter.
Now, watching as Anakin continued to sleep, he had no regrets about getting it. But he did wonder when Anakin had come home yesterday? Why had his phone died? How long had been asleep?
He wanted to ask him these things, but he also didn't want to wake Anakin up- opting to instead quietly get out of bed and prepare for the day. Obi-Wan walked into the kitchen after getting ready for the day, turning on the kettle to make a cup of tea, and sat down at the kitchen table, scrolling through news headlines on his phone. He looked out of the window in their kitchen and watched as the snow continued to fall. Anakin had mentioned wanting to go see a light display for the holidays, but now figured that perhaps it would be too cold for him to want to go. Or perhaps, he would still be too exhausted from the end of the semester to even want to go outside.
Either way, Obi-Wan figured that it was best to not disturb him.
He wasn't sure how long he had been sitting there- he had finished two cups of tea, and had moved onto reading through his emails when Anakin appeared in the kitchen. He was wearing the largest hoodie that Obi-Wan thought he owned, and had the hood pulled up, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Good morning, dear one." Obi-Wan said, adjusting his glasses as Anakin slid into the seat across from him at the table.
Anakin rested his head on the table, and Obi-Wan pushed the hood back slightly, running a hand through Anakin's curls.
"Morning." He mumbled, smiling slightly.
"Still sleepy, I take it?" Obi-Wan asked, setting his phone down.
"A little." Anakin replied and shrugged. He pouted.
"What's wrong?" Obi-Wan asked. "We had all of that stuff planed today, for the holidays." Anakin replied.
"We can still go if you're feeling up to it." Obi-Wan noted. Anakin huffed.
"You sound like you aren't feeling up to it, but don't want to admit it."
Anakin sighed and sat up. "No, no." He said and stretched. "I'll start making the cookies for Ahsoka." He continued, standing up from the chair and walking over to the cabinets, pulling out ingredients."
Obi-Wan frowned. "You're shivering." Anakin shrugged and pulled his hood back over his head.
"It's cold"
Obi-Wan stood up, wrapping an arm around Anakin's waist. "I got you those socks."
He noted with a soft smile. "I was tired of your ice cold feet pressing against me."
Anakin rolled his eyes. "Just because not all of us are as resistant to the cold as you are doesn't mean you can make fun of me about it." He replied.
Obi-Wan smiled and held his a little tighter. "If you don't want to do this, I'm sure that Ahsoka would understand." He said again.
Anakin shrugged. "No, she's also had a rough time, I wanna do something nice for her." He said as he measured out the flour. But a sudden shiver ran up his spine and he spilled some of the flour onto the counter.
"Anakin."
"It's fine." He replied and sighed. "Could you turn the thermostat up?" He asked. Obi-Wan nodded, letting go of Anakin's waist to walk over towards it. He watched as Anakin melted the butter, pouring all of the ingredients into a bowl.
"Is this your mother's recipe?" Obi-Wan asked, now familiar with the steps and ingredients that went into making these cookies. Anakin nodded, concentrating on measuring out the right amount of vanilla.
"Do you want me to help you with anything?" Obi-Wan offered. Anakin laughed softly.
"You don't like baking." He pointed out.
Obi-Wan shrugged. "No, but I can always make an exception for you." Anakin had declined again, but it didn't seem to matter. Once all of the cookies were done, Anakin had promptly collapsed onto the couch, pulling the blanket he kept out there over himself.
"More tired than you thought?" Obi-Wan asked, coming over to stand next to him. Anakin opened his eyes.
"I guess." He mumbled, closing his eyes again as Obi-Wan ran a hand through his hair. He looked up at the clock on the stove, it was early in the afternoon.
"Wait, have you eaten anything today?" Obi-Wan asked suddenly. Anakin's eyes opened.
"I had a few cookies." He replied before closing them again.
"Anakin."
"Later." Anakin replied, pulling the blanket up higher and sighing.
Obi-Wan sighed and sat down next to him on the edge of the couch. He contemplated texting Padme and Ahsoka right then and there that they wouldn't be going to see them, and that he would be stopping by with the cookies that Anakin had made instead. But he also didn't want to leave Anakin alone, and he figured that Anakin probably wanted to see them. Despite his body saying otherwise.
Obi-Wan's hunch had been right. He looked up at the time and the back over at Anakin, who had fallen back asleep. He had let him sleep for another hour, but he knew that he needed to wake Anakin up. There were things that they still needed to do, never mind heading out towards the light festival and meeting up with Padme and Ahsoka. But as he watched Anakin sleep, his face squished into the side of the couch, Obi-Wan found that he didn't have the heart to wake him. He quietly stepped over to Anakin, smiling softly as he noticed that his mouth was open slightly. But he frowned as he noticed the ever present dark circles, or the flush on Anakin's cheeks.
Obi-Wan bent over and ran a hand through Anakin's hair. He felt warmer than before, but maybe that was because he was under a blanket with a hoodie on. Obi-Wan smiled softly again as he watched Anakin's eyes flutter open.
"Get enough rest?" He asked as Anakin sat up and rubbed his eyes. Anakin shrugged.
"Hungry?" Obi-Wan asked next. Anakin ran a hand through his hair.
"A little." He replied, his voice cracking.
He cleared his throat "Definitely thirsty." He noted.
"Well, you were sleeping with your mouth open." Obi-Wan replied.
"It certainly feels like it." Anakin said as he placed a hand against his throat.
"I put the cookies away for you." Obi-Wan said, changing the subject. Anakin perked up.
" I completely forgot!" He exclaimed as he threw the blanket off of himself and stood up. Anakin walked over and rested his head on Obi-Wan's shoulder while wrapping his arms around his waist.
"I appreciate it." He mumbled into Obi-Wan's shoulder. Obi-Wan smiled and leaned his head to the side when Anakin moved to kiss him on the cheek.
"It's no trouble." He replied as a blush began to form on his face. Even now, after being married to Anakin, he could still do the simplest things to make him blush. But he wouldn't change anything.

Obi-Wan X reader /surprise/
From wattpad
Tumblr media
POV: you have a rough day - training youngling and when you come to your quarters  Obi-Wan asks you about something really... surprising
~enjoy~
words count: 1030
I have a really hard day today. I don't have any padawan so that means I must train younglings. don't be mad at me love training younglings but somedays is really difficult...they are jogging around and being a bit clumsy giggles all they and they didn't really pay attention when I talk about the history of the Jedi order... is funny to look at them. How they are looking at everything that flies around. Every time I teach younglings nostalgia hits me- I mean it's really calming. After my long day, I come to my quarters. I made myself a nice herbal tea. I made my way to our bad and- yes... Our I have nad relationship with another Jedi more precisely- Obi-Wan Kenobi. And I know its forbidden and against the Jedi code. But I can't help falling for him since we are younglings. We were really close. I know him from our home planet-Stewjon. I don't remember much but I know our mothers are close so we are also close. When Jedi order took us away from our families we are sad all of us are sad but we forgot about it by the time. so that's the start our story. Maybe you are asking how can we live together because of obviously-Jedi code? well, the thing is like this... since there are a big onset of younglings and new padawans I offer to the Jedi council my "sacrifice" of releasing my quarter for Anakin's new padawan Ahsoka or someone else and go and live with Obi-Wan. That's why we live together. Well back to my midnight heh. I really love him so much he is so caring, so kind and he is so lovely and careful with our relationship as if it from porcelain similar to my body if you know what I mean... but I think we can end this chapter heh. I heard the door opening. finally...
"Dear?,,
a melodic voice who can own only mine Obi-Wan.
" yes? ,,
I stand up and made my way to the kitchen where I find him setting two cups and tea bags in it.
"Hey, darling,,
I said and hold my cup up. He softly chuckled and take the other cup back in the shelf. He made his tea and follow me to our bed. I sat down and look out of our big open window and the Coruscant ebony night. Obi-Wan settles his cup down on a table, sitting next to me put a string of my hair behind my ear putting a gentle kiss on my flushed cheek, hands wrapping around my wairs pulling me into a nice hug and his head falling on my shoulder with a quiet sigh. I register it so I decide to ask him about it.
"is something troubling you? you know you can tell me about everything,, I said turning to face him, cupping his cheeks with my hands. He let the weight of problems in his head drop down in my palms and close his eyes. "Darling? are you alright?,, I said and pull him into a hug and cover us with a blanket.
 " I'm sorry Y/N I have a lot on my mind I mean war,,
"no need to be sorry I completely understand you, we fight in the same war Darling... I'm stressed too but I'm glad I can have you... share all my worries with you, I'm happy about that you share it with me too I know that I don't say it often but I really love you I really appreciate it,,
with ending of my words I was nearly cut off by his lips gently pressed against mine. I just smile through our kiss my fingers tangled in his hair. He pulls away and whispers into my ear
"Y/N I can even mind about life without you, you are the greatest thing that can ever happen to me I love you and I would move solar systems to prove it for you,,
When Obi-Wan finishes his words I giggled and lay on the bed pulling him closer to me in our hug "I know,, I said and buried my face in his neck. "Y/N?,, he said in question with his voice "yes?,, I'm really curious about what he wants to say to me "May I ask you about something important and about something more important?,, I feel worried in his voice "of course you can, you always can darling,,  "Are you happy with this life? I mean living in secret with no proof we are really together?,, "well sometimes it's really hard but I love spending time together no matter how hard is it I will do everything to be with you, what do you mean by that proof, Obi?,,    "I know that our relationship is forbidden but I want to move on and if you agree with that it would be even more sinful so I will completely understand if you don't wan-,, I cut him off with my question. "Y-you want to marry me? I'm right?,, "Yes... sorry for my cautious about asking you,,  "oh stars- Obi-Wan I would be the most happier person if I can be yours,, "Really?,, he asked surprised. "of course you are my life and I will be glad if we can be together with some proof,, I said with a joking tone. He smiles at me and stroke my cheek. "well let's get married one day,, he said still with a smile on his lips. I look deep into his crystal blue eyes and I put my hands around his neck and with a quiet whisper I let out a soft chuckle "I hope that day will come back soon as it possible,,

Find Your Way Back Home- Ch 4
Riyo Chuchi x Commander Wolffe, Riyo Chuchi x Commander Fox
Rating: T |||| Word Count: 1.4k |||| Set Post Order 66 |||| AO3 Link
previous • next
Tumblr media
She was far more worried about Wolffe’s state than she let on.
He’d responded well again to the mundane healing methods she’d been using, sighing and relaxing in his sleep after the latest round of javun applied to his wounds. However, when he doesn’t stir as the afternoon light turns into dusk (the days are longer here than on Coruscant, and the golden hours stretch further than the sunbeams scattered across the floor), Riyo begins to worry.
She can’t let it show, though. What Rex needs right now is hope. What she needs right now is hope.
Wolffe will live, even if she has to personally blackmail the Goddess into returning his soul.
The house is dark and silent at this time of night, Rex and Ahsoka both having retired hours before. Riyo never disturbed them once they left the common areas. Privacy was a luxury that she doubted even existed from wherever they returned to between missions. She wasn’t naive: Bail had clearly been recruiting and funding a rebelling force, one that she was helping to heal with her javun shipments, but even he had his limitations on how much he could set up and offer in only half a year.
She pondered over these and other stray thoughts from her makeshift bed on the chilly wooden floor in Wolffe’s room. The couch had been her spot for the past days, but she’d been afraid that if something happened in the middle of the night, she wouldn’t stir from her fitful sleep to be able to help.
So, she’d gathered up her pillow and pair of blankets– only the two, since all the others were currently split between her three guests– and settled in for an uncomfortable night. She knew she would get used to it, and that this was only a temporary arrangement. The hard floor was a small price to pay if it meant she was able to help.
As her consciousness became fuzzy in the minutes before she drifted off, Riyo watched Wolffe’s sleeping form with eyes hooded from exhaustion. Was he always this still when he slept? Or was it merely a side effect of his injuries? Did he still treat everyone gruffly to hide his gentler side, the one she’d first seen after passing his interrogation on her “intentions towards Fox” with flying colors? Or had the war and this nightmarish aftermath snuffed it out?
She swore to herself, with only the still night as her witness, that she’d find a way to bring it back.
--------------------------------------
Riyo woke with a start, a stuttered gasp flying from her lips as she rudely snapped back into the waking world. It took her a heartbeat to remember where she was when she couldn’t feel the soft dip of the couch beneath her, but the sight and feel of calloused fingers wrapping around her wrist did the trick. Her trapped hand was resting beside her head on the pillow, so Riyo’s gaze was swiftly able to follow the length of her waker’s arm up towards the bed. She was greeted with Wolffe’s furrowed brow and intense stare.
“You’re awake,” she said blankly, unable to state more than the obvious in her surprise.
The crease on his forehead grew as his frown deepened. “What are you doing?” He rasped.
She didn’t move, afraid that if anything broke this conversation, he would spook and draw away like a frightened animal. “I didn’t want you to be in here alone, in case something went wrong,” she honestly explained.
His eyes roamed her face, and Riyo did her best to remain still under his scrutiny. She had no idea what he was looking for, but it was only fair for her to allow him to search. After understanding what the control chips had done to the troopers, taking away any sort of choice and forcing uniform thought, the last thing she wanted to do was enforce any lingering push towards that mentality. His mind was free here.
A series of emotions streaked across his face, and she could almost see the gears in his head turning as he worked through each thought. His grip on her wrist loosened, but it was still enough that he could feel her calming pulse beneath his fingertips. She found it soothing, almost like he was seeking out evidence that she was alive and real and here with him. Hopefully it gave him a similar peace.
The words Wolffe finally settled on ripped the air out of her lungs.
“I’m not Fox.” There was nothing accusatory in his tone; in fact, he sounded defeated. Hollow.
Riyo knew too well how that felt, how it could eat someone alive.
She shifted further on to her side, both so she could see him more easily and cover his fingers with her free hand. “I know that,” she whispered, feeling the weight of her admission. “I know you aren’t him.”
His eyes narrowed in confusion as he tried to parse out some hidden meaning to her statement. “Then why are you here?”
That was like a knife to the chest, and she couldn’t hide her subtle flinch. “Because you deserve to be somewhere safe. To be helped by someone who cares about you.”
“I... don’t understand.”
She gave him a sad smile. “You don’t have to. Just rest and heal, that’s all I ask.”
Wolffe watched her for a minute longer before his lips parted in a deep sigh and he eased himself fully onto his back once more. He kept his hold on Riyo’s wrist, though, and turned his head so he could still watch her through his milky white eye, his brown one half-closed as his face pressed into his pillows.
“You don’t have to sleep on the floor,” he mumbled, curiosity overcoming his fatigue and allowing him to stay awake.
She shrugged with her raised shoulder. “It’s easier to keep an eye on you if I’m in the same room.”
He hummed blandly. “Y’say that like I’m a problem,” he said lightly.
Riyo couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “I say that like you have multiple injuries that are healing,” she countered, earning a quiet snort from him in return.
“Yessir, whatever you say.”
A real grin spread across her face. If he was able to sass her back like this already, she knew he’d be alright in the end.
They lapsed into an easy silence, one that didn’t crush in on Riyo’s chest for the first time in recent memory. It was nice, having a simple connection with someone again where there were no rules or expectations hanging over their heads. Simply two weary souls, clinging to each other on a rock surrounded by a swift current.
Wolffe was the one to finally speak. “He loved you, y’know. A lot.” His voice was much softer now, and Riyo had to fight the urge to get on her knees and pull him into a hug in an attempt to fight the sorrow that clung to every word.
Or maybe she was being selfish, and wanted to beat back her own rising sorrow. It was much more muted than usual, not enough to have her curling up in despair, but still strong enough to summon tears to her eyes.
She squeezed his hand where it still rested under hers. “He loved you more.”
She knew it to be true with every cell in her body, Memories of the few times she’d been privileged to see them interact and of the many instances she listened to Fox’s stories about his batchmate flooded to the front of her mind. Fox loved his brothers so much, and Riyo loved him all the more for it.
The quiet this time was soaked in grief, but a more contemplative kind, very different from the drowning emotion Riyo often lost herself to. She was exhausted now though, emotionally rung dry from how much of the past she’d dwelled on that day. Wolffe’s hand was warm and steady against her cooler skin, and it overwhelmed her tired senses as she began to slip back into a slumber. A fleeting thought wondered why he hadn’t let her go yet, but the fog pulling down at her eyelids dismissed it as quickly as it’d come.
Perhaps it was a figment of her mind as she slipped into a dreamworld, but Riyo felt his hand move from under hers to slide up her wrist to her palm and carefully slide his fingers between hers. Their interlocked hands could now rest easily on the pillow, and she let out a contented sigh as she pulled them closer to her cheek.
A gentle whisper floated into the air, one that had a lone tear escape through her lashes and fall free.
“No, Riyo. He didn’t.”
He loved you most.

————
“Hey, Snips.”
A smile grows on your lips at the sound of the soft and familiar voice greeting you, at the incredibly strong and positive force that surrounded you, vibrating off like calm waves from one single person.
Your eyes drifted up to see her striped montrals come to view first, before you sat up and took in her whole ghostly being. Noticing the same, familiar warm grin plastered on her gentle and orange features. Showing that even if she was a ghost, that one could look so lively. Glowing with a happiness that was yet to be matched by any living person. While her eyes shone a brighter and deeper blue than that blue hue that permanently surrounded her whole being.
Your grin widened and you instantly matched her soft and excited tone; “Hey, Master Tano.”
“Sunbathing?” She queried.
You sigh and fall back on the grass, “more like waiting. Patiently. Very patiently.”
“The new Padawan not here yet?” Master Tano—Ahsoka, asked—her name was still hard to get used to. Even if it has been years since she’s been correcting you, almost begging you to call her Ahsoka. Saying that your relationship was that much more than one of a Padawan and Master. “We’re friends. Best friends.” She would say. “No need for formalities.” She was right of course, but it was formalities that were permanently engraved in your mind.
Thanks dad.
You shake your head and from the corner of your eye watch as Ahsoka leans back, resting her hands by her sides on the grass. Looking as if she was and could take in the warmth of the sun on her face, her eyes on the sky, but her attention solely on you as you continued speaking. “No, she’s late.”
“She’ll show. Just got to be patient.” She chuckles, “more patient.”
You scoff, “Hmm, aren’t you supposed to be busy doing...I don’t know ghost stuff? Y’know instead of stalking me?”
Ahsoka giggles and snaps back with equal the attitude, “aren’t you supposed to be training?”
You chuckle and sit up to fully face her and quip. “I have a schedule, remember?” Ahsoka meets your gaze and the white marking on her right eyebrow bone lifts, shooting you curious look; “early morning, get up, get ready for the day, meditate, then join dad, Jacen and Ben for breakfast with the other Padawans. After that chores, then annoy Jacen. Not done yet, because this Padawan was supposed to come, so, that’s still on hold. But after that it’s talk with my favorite Jedi Master. Check.”
Ahsoka grins, “right on.” She then meets your fist to share a light fist bump at your comment.
You continue, “then more chores. Training with you or dad. Lastly annoy Ben before going to sleep and ending my day.”
“For such a busy person,” Ahsoka teases, “you’re surely doing a whole lot of nothing.”
“Ha. Ha. Funny.”
Ahsoka shrugs nonchalantly, “I know. Must be a Skywalker shared thought. Your grandfather thought I was funny too.”
You shake your head and smirk, “I’m sure he did.” Before you could add something else, the sound of a motor catches your attention, making you jump to your feet and look past the jungle trees, blocking the sun from your eyes with your hand to get a better view at the approaching speeder and who was riding it.
“You think that’s the Padawan?” Ahsoka questioned as she stood up to watch the same thing.
You shrug, “I don’t know…” you trail off, catching sight of what appeared to be a man. His face became more distinguishable the closer he got. A head of dark curls visible first before the sun hit and made clear of the tan face he carried. “Nope. Not the Padawan.” You interjected at the discovery of the seemingly young man on the speeder heading your way.
“Well, we'll talk later, okay? So you can tell me all about the cute visitor.” Ahsoka added with a final smile, her face and body fading away until there was nothing but the view of your father's jedi temple and the young man now a couple feet in front of you.
He gets off his parked speeder bike and his eyes fall on you before they begin to search for something behind you.
“Hello.” You greet with a warm grin, pulling the guys brown eyes back to you with an added smile on his lips.
“Uh, hi.”
You clasp your hands in front of you and search his face for a moment. Coming to a full conclusion that this was not your wanted Padawan; “since you don’t seem to be the Padawan I’m waiting for, I’m going on a whim here to say you’re here for Jacen?”
The young man's eyes widen in recognition at the sound of the name. “Yeah actually, he said he was going to be here.”
You scoff and shake your head, “oh well, of course he’s not here.” You look over your shoulder to see if your brother was anywhere in sight, but alas and to no surprise he wasn’t. “He’s probably busy. And I emphasize the word busy, sucking faces with his girlfriend or smoking. Sorry. You’re welcome to wait or I can go search for him if you want.”
The young man chuckles. A laugh that was meant whole heartedly and not feigned, his shoulders shaking as he did something so simple—“I’m fine. I think I’m in perfect company until he comes.”
You feel a heat crawl on your cheeks, suddenly being overwhelmed by the flustering state he put you in. A first, and a action not done by anyone before..until now; “Oh, well,” you smile and fumble to find any more words without making them sound like gibberish. He was a couple years older than you, you needed to remember that. Being your brother's friend and all. But when the sun caught and brightened the charming grin on his lips; one that showed how perfectly white his teeth were, how his eyes showed the same amount of happiness and glow you couldn’t help but grow more flustered.
What the hell was wrong? This is not you. Pfft.
Seeing your current state, he leaned his body on his speeder and proceeded to introduce himself with the same smile. “I’m Poe. Poe Dameron.”
You twist your Padawan braid between the pad of your index and thumb finger and smile shyly. “I’m y/n Skywalker. Jacen’s sister.”
“Oh, yeah he’s told me about you,” he points, “his as he says and I quote, “my annoying little sister.”
You scoff again, “Well I never said he was my favorite so. Whatever.” You sigh, “anyway if you want I can take you to him, or I can take you to the mess hall while you wait. I made food that hasn’t gotten touched, it would be a shame to throw it away. If you’re hungry that is.” But maybe it’s because you had no friends to eat your food. Your father wasn’t here and Jacen and Ben were somewhere around, the only friends you did have couldn’t eat because they were ghosts of past Jedi. Maybe it’s time to make friends with living people...but then again, they aren’t fun as the ghosts you hang out with. So, it’s better they way you are.
Poe shrugs, “sure I’m up for it.”
You grin and turn to guide him towards the hall, but when you try, the one and only, Jacen, appears a couple feet away with Ben Solo in tow. Looking like a matching set next to one another. One is never far from the other, like twins almost. Only they weren’t that. Looking as always, or at least Jacen all high mighty like he ruled this temple and those in it. Stuck up silly boy. Not at all how Ahsoka described your grandfather or grandmother to be. Sure they had flair to their step, being who they were, but Jacen over passed flair and went straight to stuck up, spoiled daddy’s boy. At least Ben wasn’t that way, even if he was considered a Prince; he was like his mother in that way, sweet and more genuine. Even if Jacen did get to him at times.
Anyhow, disregarding your cousin and brother's demeanor's, you let out an annoyed sigh, noticing right away the glare on Jacen’s pale and slim face, his blue eyes almost seeming to show a red hue due to his anger. A detail that was caused by the sun reflecting on his irises, one if you hadn't noticed such an effect would have thought his eyes changed colors with his aggravated mood. And for what reasons was he mad? Going by the glare he threw to his friend, and you were guessing here, would be because his friend was talking to you—when did he decide to be the caring older brother?
“Dameron,” your brother smiles, “I’m sorry I’m late, man.” For such a cold glare, he knew how to give a warm and genuine welcome. “I hope my sister wasn’t bothering you”
You frown and huff, feeling him very smoothly tug you towards him without showing Poe his true intentions of why he had pulled you away—“You’re rude and maybe if you were early I wouldn’t have to greet your friends.” You snap.
Jacen’s eyes drift to meet your own, his jaw clenching and showing you a feigned smile. “Go, dads back, go greet him.”
“Fine.” You turn to Poe one last time and offer him one last smile. “I’ll see you around, Poe.” Said man smiles in return, not really caring for your brother's death glare. Not like you cared either—Using a bit of the force you spin back on your heels and offer Ben a warm smile before leaving the group of boys and heading towards your father's strong force presence. Unknowingly keeping Poe's attention on you as your father soon came into view, a warm and kind smile on his lips at the sight of you welcoming him back from a failed recruitment mission.
“Dad!” Quickly you throw your arms around his neck and feel his own arms wrap around you to return your embrace, the long sleeves from his Jedi robes becoming a warm secure blanket on your back. As his familiar natural citrus smell engulfs your nose in its refreshing smell. A welcoming smell, just like he was a welcoming sight after what felt too long being without him.
“Hey, kid.” He warmly greets, pulling away from the embrace to cradle your cheek, “is it just me or is it every time I come back from being away you just get older?”
You shrug nonchalantly and refer to his graying hair. “I think you’re the one getting older.”
He chuckles and pulls away, shrugging off the pack hanging from his shoulder, his eyes looking for who you presumed was Jacen. “Where’s your brother?”
Yep that was it.
You scoff, “off being an ass.”
He raises an eyebrow to your choice of word, a reaction you knew wasn’t welcomed lightly, or at all. He wasn’t a fan of profanity, especially since you were to set an example to the other students since you were who you were. It didn’t stop you though, and you knew he let some bad choice words slip himself, you’ve heard him.
“Sorry.” You mutter.
He shakes his head and proceeds to pull out a small bag from his pack. “I stopped by Naboo before coming back here and when I was there I got you this.” He pulls your hand that was resting at your side to place the pouch on your hand, his smile glowing with happiness. “It isn't anything big, but I hope you like it.” Not being to hold your anticipation, you open the pouch and pull out a silver chain with a japor snippet charm hanging from it. The simple yet meaningful gift makes you grin and wrap him in another hug. “I made one for you brother too—I carved it out myself, I just needed something to hang it from. It’s like the one your grandfather gave your grandmother. It's supposed to mean good fortune. And well when I’m gone for too long so you can remember me.”
“I love it.” You happily exclaim as you feel him place a kiss on the crown of your head. Pulling away shortly after to discover something extra in the pouch. Treats from Naboo, his favorite treats, just like yours. A gift you knew he added so you’d share; “Thank you, dad.”
He wraps his arm around your shoulder and begins to guide you into the temple, the same kind smile on his face as he added with equally as kind words, “love you kid.”

(Ben Solo p.o.v)
“Where’s my daughter?”
Ben blinks, his lips parting try to form any word, just any word. To explain in the best way possible to his uncle and former Master that the only daughter he had. The last breathing child he had was being held captive by Snoke inside the First Orders capital ship. Of course he could just simply release that news to him like that. But by the look on his face, he preferred to let it out as easy as possible.
“She’s alive, I’m going to go back for her,” Ben revealed confidently, earning a narrowed look regardless of his choice of words. “Whatever it takes.”
Ben’s mother began to walk towards her brother, a softened look expressed on Luke's eyes, his attention falling on her for a second, his concerned expression appearing again as Ben finished speaking. “Possibility is that the ship they had her on isn’t going to be in the same coordinates, but I know people, I can search here for their location. I will go back for her, I promise.”
Luke sighed, “she’s my only daughter. I can’t…” he paused for a short second, if Ben hadn’t been paying attention to Luke, it would be an action that would have gone unnoticed, just like the crack in his voice. “I won’t lose her too. I’ll go with you.”
With you? Really? Is that what he said?
First, no one except for y/n herself knew where he was after he isolated himself. Second this is the first time in years Luke has ever talked to Ben. His mother sure, a couple times before he completely cut contact, but it had been years since anyone had seen him until now. Did he just expect Ben to know where he was?
Ben’s eyebrows furrowed his lips parting to say his peace before Luke interjected. “I can’t stay like this for too long.” He explained, referring to his current...state. “I shared the coordinates of where I am with your mother, come to me and we’ll go get my daughter.”
Before Ben could even nod to agree with what he suggested, or commanded, Luke disappeared, leaving nothing but simple coordinates in his mother’s mind through their force connection.
Ben cleared his throat and let his eyes wander the crowd that had gathered, noticing that they had begun to disperse at the sight of Luke gone and Ben’s hardened gaze searching the crowd. All of them pretending that they were now “busy”. Bullshit—“Let’s search for the coordinates on the datapads.” Ben said to his mother, her gaze turning to see him and expressing her motherly concern. Even after she had slapped him.
Well maybe he deserved that.
“Let’s get you patched up first, Ben.”
Ben shook his head and stubbornly began to head towards the datapads inside base. His words somewhat wavered as he walked ahead. “no, first we get those coordinates down, before anything else.”
“You’re hurt.”
“It doesn’t matter.” He cut her off, “y/n is still out there. I-I can’t and won’t let them keep her as some prisoner. The longer she’s out there, the higher the possibility it is for her to get hurt.” Ben sighed, “we know how she is.”
His mother sighed, unsure of what to really say to ease his worry. “she’s like her father, Ben. She’s strong and patient, she’s going to be okay.” She tried assuring him, but it didn’t at all coax his worry. That reason was exactly why he was worried. “She’d want you looked out after first.”
Ben sighed, “I know. But let’s just first figure out where he is.” Having no other choice, his mother stopped trying to tell Ben otherwise. She knew she wouldn’t win in this argument.
But maybe she should have, basing off the stares he was getting the further he walked into base with his torn clothing, bruised face and busted lip. It’s like they’ve haven’t seen someone hurt before, or seen him. Maybe it would have been better if he had gone somewhere else that wasn’t here….
“And you tell me who can outrun a band of bounty hunters with a inch of fuel left in their ship?”
“You.”
“I’m not one to brag, but yeah. Me.” The old man chuckles, straightening out the invisible wrinkles on his jacket and receiving a smack on the arm by the tall and hairy Wookiee sitting beside him not mere seconds later. “And Chewie. Don’t worry buddy I didn’t forget you.”
Yeah it was definitely better if he had chosen to travel somewhere else.
The old man’s dark brown eyes spot Ben from across the room, his eyes widening in recognition, the smile that grew faltering until it completely fell at the sight of Ben’s visible wounds.
“When did dad get back?” Ben quietly questioned his mother who walked behind him, his hand flying to his ribs at the sharp sting of pain.
“Earlier today.”
Ben hummed, making his way to his father regardless of his current feelings on him. A noticeable happy look on his father's face once he reached him. Not one that really made it on Ben’s face, but he tried. He was trying. “Dad, Chewie.” His eyes shifted to the pilot his father had shown off to. One of y/n’s friends….special friends; His breath hitched and his eyes drifted nervously to the ground with a very faint and shy smile spreading on his lips. “Hi, Mara.” Said girl smiled and offered him a short nod, her dark eyes searching for only one person who wasn’t by his side. The smile she contained slowly falling.
“Where’s Jaina?”
Who?
Ben blinked, an obvious puzzled look growing on his face, until the light bulb in his head went off a couple minutes later—right, y/n’s fake name to keep her real identity a secret. Right. “She’s….” Ben blanked again, a wave of guilt crashing within him. “She’s..not here.”
Mara answered with a soft “oh”, his theory of her answering with just silence, debunking as she looked up at him with concern. “Are you okay? Do you need me to patch you up? I have some free time.”
His dad tried to hide his proud smile behind his hand, but Ben caught the gesture and hoped Mara didn’t. Ben offered her an assuring smile nonetheless and ignored his dad. “uhh no,” he swallowed thickly at how much more nervous he was beginning to get, “later?”
She smiled and nodded, “okay, I’m here all day so,” she grinned at her own joke before finishing her comment. “Come look for me when you want.”
Ben offered a short nod in agreement and watched quietly as she walked away with Chewbacca, his gaze lost on her figure as she swayed her hips in a confident way, he smiled shyly at the thought of talking to her later, until all the excitement went away when his dad broke him from his stupor, expressing his concern for Ben’s beloved cousin. Or sister as everyone knew her here. “Ben what’s wrong? Where’s y/n? What happened?”
Ben responded with silence, turning to walk towards his intended destination, hearing as both parents paced behind him, ultimately having to force himself to answer with a grumble. “I’m going to get her.”
“Ben.”
“I’m okay, dad, really.” Ben winced softly, his face swallowed by the holo-computers bright blue hue in front of him. Ben’s fingers typing a whirlwind of buttons in a matter of seconds before looking over his shoulder to his mother who had barely caught up to him. “Could you please give me the coordinates.”
His mother nodded and pushed Ben to the side, quickly inserting what was needed before a strange new map flashed on, marking a path to the unknown regions of the galaxy. “Are you sure this is it?” Ben wondered before he zoomed into the new marked planet, his black eyebrows furrowing as he tried to decipher what it was and how the hell he was going to get there. He couldn’t go in the ship the First Order had so generously gifted him. Mainly because he knew it would be tracked. And he couldn’t on any of the ships here because they were all just one seater fighter ships. The only thing he could do was—Ben’s eyes slowly slid to his father, a soft sigh escaping his lips at the thought.
“Yes it’s there.” His mother remarked. “It wouldn’t be wrong.”
Ben ran a hand through his hair and then rested his hands on the table. Letting his mother explain to his father what this was and what had gone on just moments ago with her long lost twin brother. A mixture between excitement and confusion expressed on his father's face.
“Dad…” Ben paused and sighed again, hesitating to even continue. Just digging the heel of his boot into the stone ground, barely now feeling the high heat of D’Qar on him. Making sweat beads roll down his forehead as he tried to ask his father one simple question. “Could I use the Falcon?”
“To get your uncle and save y/n?” His father asked as he crossed his arms over his chest; Ben nodded stiffly, letting that be the only reaction his father needed to continue with a smug grin. “Of course. But your mother, chewbacca and I are going too.”
Ben froze and his eye twitched at the comment, his lips parting to protest. “But—”
“No.” His father interjected. “You’re crazy to think we’re letting you do this alone after what happened. Your partner in crime may be gone, but we’re here.”
“But mom has a base to run, she can’t leave.” Ben tried to argue, his father as stubborn as him.
“It’s okay. She can leave someone in charge. We won’t be gone for long. We’re going with you, end of discussion.”
Ben sighed and hesitated for a moment, knowing damn well that there was no point in arguing. “Fine.”
His mother and father smiled before Han added another comment. “Gives us the excuse to finally reunite the old crew. How about that?”
Ben feigned a smile and offered a short nod. “Great. Just great.” Well this was going to be an adventure—if only this was a different situation and y/n was here. She would have made this more tolerable. She would have loved his father's idea. She would have jumped for joy.
Stars. If only she were here…
——
“I am one with the force,” you slowly breathe out of your nose, trying with everything within you to feel a spark of something, feel the presence of anyone. Ahsoka, your grandfather, Ben or your father. Just anyone so that you could feel less hopeless; “I am one with the force. I am—”
“Does that really work?”
When did the door open?
You sigh and open your eyes with a dread, instantly being welcomed by Poe Dameron, his figure in the small dark room upside down as you balanced on one hand. In attempts to try and feel your force ability. Disappointingly enough though, coming out empty, especially now with the annoying distraction and his...cute white and orange droid by his feet; “What?”
Poe cocks his head to side, shifting the helmet underneath his arm and placing the plate of food down on the metal desk, a cocky smirk on his lips. “Mediating? And all your Jedi whatever?”
You huff, “not anymore since you’re here. Annoying me.” You remark, making him scoff playfully and for the droid to chirp to defend his master. His little soft sounds not at all affecting you. After all, you were friends with artoo. That droid was worse—regardless having no other option, you swiftly flipped back to stand on your feet and hesitate to face him, sighing as you did.
“I brought you food,” Poe points to the tray displaying a healthy amount of vegetables, what looked to be steaming mashed potatoes and fruits—At Least the First Orders food option wasn’t as bad as them.
Your eyes drift to the food and you shake your head, “I’m not hungry.” You cross your arms over your chest and shoot him a pointed look, ignoring the way your stomach growled as the smell of the food hit your nose.
“The guards say you haven’t eaten.” He grumbles, reaching to grab the plate, “eat or you’ll starve.”
You shoot him a glare and stay grounded as he begins walking towards you, his steps heavy as they hit the metal ground while his face clearly came to view under the white dim lights on the ceiling, his gaze not really expressing a concern, but an annoyance to your defiance; “you told me to rot in my cell, I’m doing that.”
Poe sighs heavily, “it’s a figure of speech. I was angry that you lied to me. Don’t they have that where you’re from?”
“I’m from Yavin-4 so you tell me.” You quip. Standing straighter as he comes to a stop in front of you.
“Eat, y/n.”
You grab the tray from his hand and grab the bowl of mashed potatoes, a small smirk faintly showing on your lips as you cupped your hand around the bottom rim and lifted it off the tray to shove it in his face. “Why don’t you.”
Poe’s jaw clenched as he reacted quickly by wiping the food off his face, his dark eyes burning holes inside your head. His lips parted to most likely argue, or scream at you, but instead he clenched his jaw once more. Letting the tray drop to the ground with a loud clang, the food remaining spilling on the floor by your feet, and his gloved hand clenching into a fist at his side before he turned to leave the room (cell) in a huff. His droid following him with concern and a hurried pace. Again, being left all alone with nothing but your failed attempts to reconnect with the force.
Usually when there were those moments when you felt alone, you usually liked to very carefully grab the japor snippet that would hang around your neck on a metal chain, but when you lifted your hand this time to try and feel the soft wooden charm, you only touched soft skin. No reminder of your dad, just the feeling of true and pure loneliness—Maybe the better choice was not to take it off before you arrived here. At least then maybe there would be something to keep you company, or keep you from feeling less alone. But there was no room for maybe’s anymore….
With a shaky exhale you drop to the ground, your eyes watering for a moment before they caught sight of the food spilled on the ground; having nothing else to do and really just distracting yourself, picking it up and placing it back on the tray. Feeling only a small, tiny bit of an inkling of remorse for what you did to Poe—He may be rude and annoying but….he..he was trying something nice.
Eww that even hurt to think.
Catching you by surprise the door slid open, different more lighter footsteps following as they walked inside, informing you immediately that it wasn’t Poe who returned, and it wasn’t Rey. You discreetly peeked over your shoulder as the door slid closed, spotting a black uniform reflecting the gleam of white light, a recognizable stormtrooper helmet on its head and a new tray of food in its hands—“there's people that can do that, y’know.”
Ah, now you knew who it was. “Oh, look, Poe sent in his apologetic stormtrooper.” You turn back around and focus on cleaning up the food. “Go away.”
“Finn.” He corrects you. “It’s actually Finn.”
You scoff as you sit up, still letting your back face him. “Okay.”
“You haven’t ate.”
You roll your eyes and sigh. “You too, huh? You know I thought that whole reason of being a prisoner was to torture me. Not to treat me like a child.”
“You’re a guest.”
Finally you roll your head over your shoulder to make sure he saw your raised eyebrow and narrowed gaze. “Funny.” You spin around where you sat to face him with the same reaction. “Tell your master that I’m not hungry.”
Finn nods slowly and grabs a metal chair, twisting it around so he could take a seat. “I won’t leave until you will.”
“Then I guess you’re staying here all day.”
“I guess I will.” He quipped back, sounding exactly how Ben would. So paternal. It sucked; “tell you what, Nomad was going to do this later, but, I can take you to a better room if you eat.”
You scoff. “I’m not some pet or some child that you can bribe!”
Finn sighed, even if his face was covered it was audible that he sighed through his nose. “You’re snippy, you know that?” He paused and shrugged, “look I know you’re not a child or some pet, but I can’t promise you anything else, okay? Plus this room sucks, it’s dark and depressing, your new room will be bigger and have a window. Gives you room to walk and see the stars. But only if you at least have a couple bites of food.”
You huff and hesitate to stand up, biting the inside of your cheek and drifting your eyes to see the soft red lights that decorated the ground as you contemplated your answer. “You’re weird y’know? Different from the other stormtroopers.”
Finn shrugged, “I’ll take that as a complement.”
You meet the visor where his eyes are meant to be and groan softly. “Fine, I’ll eat.” You take the tray of food he offers and sit in another chair across from him, noticing as he crossed his arms over his chest in a cocky way.
“Wasn’t so hard, now was it?”
A scoff escapes your lips before a faint smile tugged at the corner of your lips as you answer him, “I guess not.” Finn shrugs and you simply roll your eyes as you finally take a bite of your food. “Happy?”
He quips, “very.”
——
“You’ve got a smile brighter than any of those stars.”
A smile slowly tugs at your lips at the faint memory sounding in your mind, whilst your eyes get lost on the view of the dark and cold vacuum of space in front of you, pretending that if you thought hard enough, you could see the memory play in the twinkling stars. It was the only form of distraction to keep you from really feeling what your mind, whole being wanted you to really feel.
“Any more compliments and she’ll turn out like you, Anakin.” Master Kenobi retorted, making your grandfather grin smugly.
“And that’s wrong? She is my only granddaughter after all. Maybe I want her to be just like me.”
You chuckle and keep listening to what Master Kenobi had to say in return. “Ahsoka and I enjoy her the way she is. Don’t corrupt her please.”
A knock sounds on the door, pulling you from your stupor and causing your smile to fall. Only watching from the reflection of the transipersteel that Nomad had opened the door, his figure stuck at the entrance of the door, the bright light of the halls growing his shadow on a ground that was a hundred times more smoother than the cold hard metal, grate of a floor that was in your cell before. This cell had a bed. A bigger bed than you’ve ever had in your life, with a bigger room that could probably fit the small boxes you would stay in at base a hundred times over. The sheets were a dark silk heaven...Like how you imagine a cloud to feel, and there was a huge bathroom that was a part of your “room” (cell), and a walk-in closet that was only half full with First Order clothes you would never actually wear, but it had them hanging from the racks. Overall your excitement was obvious and not expected. They had spoiled you to the max with this room. Even if it was locked from the outside; which actually brought you to the conclusion that there was some reason behind this relocation.
Beside just the fact that they were obligating you to stay here alive.
“Do you need something?”
The sound of his weight shifting to his other foot echoed throughout the room, the sound nor him actually pulling your full attention just yet.
“Do you want to get out of your room?”
You sigh and bite the inside of your cheek, “cell you mean.” You correct him.
Nomad sighs loudly, “do you?”
“Depends. Am I going home?”
“No.” He deadpans before letting silence engulf the whole room. The sound of his helmet clicking before it came off was the only noise that traveled around, the sound of his voice much softer now without his helmet following shortly after. “Rey is gone on some mission. I need someone to train with.”
You scoff and cross your arms over your chest, being quick with a retort. “Your girlfriend’s gone so now you’re bugging me?”
Poe chuckled and was heard fully entering the room, letting the door slide shut behind him. “Not my girlfriend. She wishes she was. Plus I think you're more her type.”
“That, or she’s simply not into you.” You quip with a smug grin.
“Possibly.” He agreed, his footsteps stopping a couple feet behind you; “do you want to leave or not? I promise I’ll go easy, wouldn’t want to harm the pretty princess, y’know.”
You roll your eyes. “Stop calling me that, I’m not a princess. Far from it.”
“Your father is basically Jedi royalty, just like your last name, basically makes you one.”
“Nah.” You smirk, “the only princess I know is my cousin Ben. So.” Prince basically, but same thing. You loved to tease him. Got him ticked and got you happy.
“Come on. You don’t want to be stuck in here all day. It gets depressing.” Poe adds, making you grow quiet and not really thinking much of your answer before you answered with another sigh.
“Fine.” You finally turn to face Poe, seeing the cuffs already in his grip.
He noticed your gaze on the object and shrugged. “Trust issues. They’ll be off when we get to the training room.” Having no other choice you extend your hands and let him slap the cuffs on your wrists, watching as he put his helmet back on. Why? No idea. It’s not like he had trouble breathing like Darth Vader had, nor was it intimidating as his. It looked like any other helmet the stormtroopers with the black suits had on. You would have asked, but you didn’t feel like giving him the satisfaction that something about him remotely caught your attention. Unless it was his scar. But that wasn’t something you had the need to comment on anymore. Just like you didn’t comment on the silence that surrounded you both as he walked you to the training room. Walking past stormtroopers with the black uniforms that differed those with the usual get up. Again you wanted to comment, but again you chose not to. Just letting the silence continue until you arrive at the room, the cuffs soon getting taken off once you both are secured inside the unsurprisingly huge area.
“Here,” he says breaking the silence, handing you a new set of hand wraps as he took off his helmet with his other hand, his eyes traveling from what he offered you and up to you. “I’m not going to bite. Take them. And don’t wrap them on too tight, or you’ll open your wound on your hand.”
He remembered about that? You hardly did
With some small hesitation you chose to take the hand wraps from him and only mouth a soft ‘thank you’ before you took off the ugly long sleeved shirt they had put on you before, being in only the tank top underneath, just like he now was. You tried to avert your eyes, really tried, but found yourself looking at him regardless as you began to wrap one hand, noticing that he wasn’t built like before when you first met him, when he would hang out with Ben and your brother. No, he was older now, his arms weren’t as skinny as before, they had a lot more...muscle to them and his chest was much more..how does someone describe it? Toned? Just like his...abdominal area. It was all just stamped through his tight tank….
Wait a minute...no. No—hastily before he noticed you staring, you tore your eyes away and focused on what you were doing—was it hot in here? Stars. Fucking...
“You done?”
You swallow thickly again and nod. “Yep.” Before he was able to comment on anything you jumped up, and met him on the mat, looking around for any usual weapons you were used to training with. “Do I get to use any of my lightsabers?”
Poe shakes his head whilst he gets into a fighting stance. “Not until you don’t want to kill me and you don’t want to leave anymore.”
“I’m a prisoner inside your capital ship, Dameron, of course I will fight to leave. All the time.”
“Then you don’t get your lightsabers. Simple.”
You huff and get into your own fighting stance, a mixture between use of form V and the form Ashoka taught you. Carefully eyeing every movement Poe began to make as he paced around you, waiting for you to attack, watching with his own eyes as you shifted your body to be prepared for any attacks. Smirking once he got impatient and attacked first, letting you to quickly dodge his swing and swiftly return to your stance, kicking his side before swinging your other leg and missing as he ducked.
You grinned and slightly jumped back to avoid his move, shrugging as you added something with heavy breaths. “No training stick or anything? Or are you too afraid I’ll beat you?”
Poe hesitated to answer. Giving right away his thoughts, which was a clear ‘yes’. He might’ve responded with a ‘no’ but you knew.
Poe tried to swing again but you quickly caught his fist and smirked, twisting his arm a bit before jumping slightly to lock his neck with your legs and flipping him over to crash onto the mat. His hand you had pinned to the ground while with his other hand he was quick to tap your leg to call it quits—you did so and loosened your grip, letting him slip out and carefully touch his offended area, while he also tried to breath in air, his eyes on you expressing a mixture of something you couldn’t define; “damn, princess, who the hell taught you to fight?”
You push yourself up to your feet and shrug, “I’ve had multiple teachers throughout the years.”
“Your ghost friends?”
Your head whips to where he is and you furrow your eyebrows in confusion and shock. “You remember?”
Poe stands up and keeps rubbing his neck, using the force to summon a water bottle to his hand. Shooting you a look that read ‘yeah? Obviously.’
“Well them and myself.” Your frown returns to your face at the thought, “I wanted to be stronger so when I fought...Nomad. I’d win. I had to grow.”
Poe’s eyes drop and gulps down his water, licking his lips before he adds his other comment. “Well you have grown into yourself.” He smirks and you scoff, unable to tune him out as he continues. “I just mean you—never mind.”
You don’t press on the matter and look away from him, a sharp pain shooting to your palm repeatedly, making you quietly hiss from the pain. You bring your hand up and see the blood soaking through the wraps. Shit. You clench your hand into a fist and just try to ignore it until you were taken back to your cell. But you should’ve known better. Even if this room was big, it appeared almost small with just Poe and you here. He noticed; “I told you not to wrap it too tight. See now you opened your wound again.”
You huff and ignore him, hearing from behind you as he walked up behind until he stood close, his hand forcefully pulling your injured one. Carefully unwrapping the wrap and turning it to see the mess. “I can stitch it up.”
“No.” You answer bluntly, trying to pull your hand away from his grasp, but coming out unsuccessful as he pulled it back to him.
“I’m doing it.”
“Then why’d you ask?”
Poe shrugs and pulls you to sit on a nearby bench, moving away to get what he needed, not taking long in his leave and sitting right back down beside you, taking your hand in his once more and completely removing the hand wrap. Very delicately, in a touch you barely felt cleaning your deep cut you yourself caused when..you stupidly but bravely caught his blade with your hand. It was a move your grandfather would’ve been proud of and Ben would’ve disapproved. Saying ‘it's too dangerous. You’ll get hurt.’ Even if he does the same move too. Whatever—you keep your eyes downcast and just listen to your breathing, soon hearing Poe’s because of how close he sat by you. Unable to keep your eyes away before they drifted to watch what he did, slowly looking up to see his eyebrows furrowed and his gaze narrowed on your wound. Why was he being so nice?
“Why are you being so nice?” You question out loud.
Poe hesitates and inhales quietly before exhaling deeply, only briefly letting his eyes meet your own before choosing to answer. “You want to get an infection on your hand?”
“No.”
“You’re my guest, I like to treat my guests nice.” He adds, his gaze focusing on the needle in his hand, ignoring your scoff.
“If I was your guest, I wouldn’t be in a cell.”
“You’re in a room.”
“It’s locked from the outside. Forbidding me from going out like a cell would. So it’s a cell.”
Poe stops and looks up at you, parting his lips to argue but choosing to let the silence once again blanket you both. It wasn’t an uncomfortable one, but it was one that soon made you feel the remorse from what you did a while ago; “I’m sorry,”
His breath catches in his throat. He tried to pretend it didn’t, but you caught it. “For throwing the food at you. You didn’t deserve that. You were trying to be nice. I’m sorry.” You pause and a faint smile appears, “only for that though. You deserved me punching you.”
A very faint smile tugs at the corner of his lips, a soft amused huff of air leaving his nose, his gaze meeting with yours for a second before you looked away. Your attention perked up once he mentioned something…“you know when we met for the first time and after you left with your dad and Jacen finally was able to distract Ben with something he told me and I quote, “you’re my friend and as your friend I want to say this. My sister is off limits. I see or hear you talking to her in any sort of suggestive, flirtatious way I’ll hurt you.”
You scoff and smile wider, “he was an ass. I’m sorry.”
Poe shook his head and chuckled. “I didn’t listen, don't worry.”
The smile you had soon faded at the memory of what happened rushed in. Of that night, of who had killed him. The anger returns in a burning fury, causing you to pull your hand away, not caring if he was almost done—He noticed the shift in your emotions, not only by the force, but by the way your eyes watered and your face scrunched up in anger. He wanted to add something, but you cut him off sharply. “Take me back to back to my cell, I’m tired of being here and of you.”
Poe simply nodded and summoned the cuffs to his hand to slap them back on your wrists, his eyes drifting back up to your face to see the tears you tried to hold in. Choosing that only a simple “fine” was enough. Not daring to talk the rest of the way back to the place he called your room. Releasing the cuffs once you were inside, choosing at the last moment, thinking that you wouldn’t notice (when in fact you did) to leave the door unlocked.
A mistake on his part and something you took as an advantage.
——
With very quiet and careful steps you snuck out of your room, looking from hall to hall to make sure the ghost was clear. Once it was you walked down the halls to try and get to the hangar Ben had parked his ship. Hoping that it was still there to make your great escape. Biting the inside of your cheek as a nervous tick. The deeper you walked down the ships halls the tighter you bit down.
Ignoring the pain in your heart to leave your own beautiful purple lightsaber, and the green lightsaber your dad gave to you behind. It hurt your soul, but if you tried to find them you’d be caught, so unfortunately it was something you had to leave, hoping that one day you’ll get them back. Really hoping.
Finally by the miracle of the maker through the wide transparisteel the ship you had come in came to view. A grin spreading whilst you rushed inside the hanger and inside the ship. Lucking out when there were no stormtroopers around, or inside the ship; not like you hoped there would be or you waited to see them as you rushed to the cockpit, letting the necklace you were truly and deeply missing get forgotten until you were out in the safety of hyperspace.
Feeling the cold buttons from the control underneath your hand as it traveled to try and turn it on, feeling a cold breeze of air as you went unaware of the person who had snuck on, his voice breaking the silence that had filled in the small space, the suddenness of his voice causing your shoulders to jump in surprise; “what are you doing?”
Slowly you looked over your shoulder to see Poe standing stiffly by the entrance. His jaw clenched and his glare burned into you as he repeated in a deeper, angrier voice, “What are you doing?”

More Than Just A Number .2
after two heated rounds it came down to a tie and you surprisingly were enjoying yourself. But it was late or at least you thought so kinda hard to tell when your in space calling it a night you retired to your quarters, giving your face a quick wash the rag got snagged on one of your various horns with a frustrated sigh you glared at the little things and grabbed your saber. However before you could give yourself a little makeover your comlink went off, “hey [n/n] got time to talk” Anakin asked sounding a littler perkier than usual tossing your saber on the bed you plopped down on its edge. “Yea shoot” you mumbled plopping on the bed face first you spent the rest of the night listening to Anakin talk about his relationship with Padme which you didn’t really mind listening to, when you woke you had managed to roll off the bed and hit the floor with the blanket wrapped around you like a burrito. Getting up you quickly showered avoiding looking in the mirror at all cost, you hated your reflection it was ugly and freaky like nightmare fuel, with your awkward white patch around your right eye your different colored  eyes and your devil horns you were picture of disgust rumor even has it your parents gave you to the jedi for that reason alone. You weren’t sure if it was true but all the other padawans seemed to really believe it at the time, leaving your room you hit poor Rex with the door knocking him to the floor because you were so distracted by your thoughts, “Captain Rex I’m so sorry” you admitted bashfully as you helped him to his feet and brushed him off, “that’s quite alright accidents happen “ he said with a soft laugh you tried to use the force to see if he was lying but he seemed bubbly you apologized again and you felt him shift from neutral to slightly uncomfortable. “Really it’s no problem ma’- I mean [Y/N]”  You smiled softly letting out a short breath “okay so uh where are you going?” He stiffened at your question which was odd and you swore you could feel a little unease wafting off of him, “to meet general Anakin in the cockpit” he replied swiftly but judging off the aura coming off of him you could tell he’d just lied and that peeked your interest. Since Rex was one of the most honest and honorable people you’d heard of  “really now” you mused staring deep into his pretty golden eyes,  he held your gaze for about two minutes before briskly excusing himself and walking away you thought about following him but decided against and instead went to the cockpit. Anakin greeted you with a half wave while conversing with Ahsoka “whatcha whispering about?” Anakin turned to you with a somewhat soft smile “our first mission together in forever we gotta rescue a spy from the planet Tiliti he has some valuable information on a new project count Duke is working on”,  “sounds fun” you said sarcastically crossing your arms. He had this weird look on your face like he was about to ask you something personal and you tensed up, “whatever it is you want me to do I’m not doing it” you stated firmly he let out a sigh only confirming your suspicion that he was up to something, “well the base is located in a nightclub” he muttered softly.  You nodded slowly urging him to go on and he played with his fingers “that means we have to dress properly….and you have to ditch the jedi robe”, you sucked a breath through your teeth as your heart jumped into your throat “no I won’t do It you’ll have to go without me” you turned to leave but he held you with the force ticking you off. “I know you did not just use the force on me” you spat venomously glaring daggers into his soul a couple of clones paused whatever they were doing to watch the little hissyfit you were having, “I know you don’t like taking off your hood but I wouldn’t ask you if lives weren’t in danger “ he stared you in the eye a look of seriousness crossing his face. You sighed in defeat slumping your shoulders and turning for your room to get ready, “why doesn’t she like taking off her hood” Rex and Ahsoka asked simultaneously watching you disappear around the hall,  Anakin blushed softly chuckling nervously “funny story you’ll laugh at this”. “Really master” Ahsoka gave him a pointed look while shaking her head as they got off the shuttle Anakin threw his hands in the air, “I was young dumb and in love okay” he whisper shouted,  waiting outside the club for you to arrive. You’d decided not to arrive together to avoid suspicion so he arrived first with Ahsoka and you’d arrived second with Rex, stepping off another shuttle you swallowed thickly, it had only been a couple of minutes since you’d arrived on planet and you were already drawing attention to yourself. People gasped and stared at you all the while you trembled with unease, you’d decided to wear a simple slim fit powder blue backless dress with a tight waist flowing bottom and short sleeves, although it didn’t make you feel any better about yourself. You’d tried to wrap your horns in a scarf or something but Anakin protested it and your horns kept shredding holes into the scarf so you reluctantly left, Anakin kept telling you how beautiful you looked but you knew he was only saying that to soothe his guilty conscious when Ahsoka said it you could feel it’s sincerity. But when Rex said it;  butterflies danced in your stomach and electricity shot through your spine like lightning, your entire body flushed and you’d choked on the drink you’d been sipping, he’d said it with such fervor and passion that you almost believed him for a second.  You’d tried to see if he was lying through the force but he wasn’t; you felt nothing but compassion and honesty shining from him, which made you blush more “ready general “ he whispered in your ear snapping you out of your daze,  Rex stood next to you shoulder brushing yours as his fingers slowly interlocked with yours. You were going as a couple while Anakin and Ahsoka were going as siblings which was pretty accurate, they always seemed like a big brother and a little sister to you. Or in some cases the other way around, you squeezed his hand and basked in the warmth slowly seeping into your cold fingers “ready you” mumbled more like a question, as the four of you  entered the building you were greeted by blinding neons lights deafening music and the strange scent of alcohol sex and street drugs.  Anakin and Ahsoka kinda spread out looking for anything suspicious while you tried to press yourself into the farthest corner you could fine so you wouldn’t be bothered, you also kept an eye out for anything odd while watching people roll against each other in a sea of bodies, Rex had also split leaving you alone in the corner.  After about five minutes of standing in a corner you started getting strange looks so you went to the bar and ordered a drink a simple whisky on rocks, sipping your drink slowly you saw Ahsoka ascend the stairs with Anakin and a guy in black while giving you a knowing nod you sauntered over to the dancefloor simply to keep others from following suit.   You were starting to get bored and sensed Rex’s boredom to so you walked over to him and offered him a hand “wanna dance captain or do you have two left feet” you teased, he looked at a bit shocked that you were asking him contemplating it for a second he  gingerly  took your hand in his own “I’ll have you know I have two right feet” he commented. You felt a little spark shoot through your fingertips as they brushed his but blamed it on the whisky you’d downed, however his fingers left whitehot trails as they grazed your lower back finding their way to your hips and pulling you closer. Your breathing hitched in your throat as he pulled you so close you could smell his woody pine scent,  you trembled softly at how intoxicating it was allowed your eyes to flutter close for a moment, he was a true gentleman never letting his hand explore further than your waist while the other held  your hand so tightly that you could feel his pulse. You could since that he was beyond nervous as his eyes focused on yours his body movements were a bit awkward and stiff so you decided to take the lead, “easy there tiger dancings easy just follow my lead” you whispered as your hands looped around his neck, you rolled your hips to the beat and his were quick to follow as the beat accelerated . His hands stayed stiffly at your waist you rolled your eyes “you can move your hands captain just don’t get any funny ideas” you teased making him blush, if he wasn’t nervous before he most definitely was now, he just responded with a little nod he grabbed your hand and spun you before forcefully pulling you back so you collided with his broad chest. You swung your hips from side to side as he seemed to get the hang of it occasionally spinning you ever now and then,  you quickly worked up a sweat as his hands explored every inch of your body and your ass began grinding somewhere near his crotch. You were so lost in the heat of the moment and appeal of the dance that neither of you seemed to notice the crowd slowly forming to watch you dance, or at least that was until Anakin and Ahsoka quickly flew down the stairs carrying a wounded looking togruta Anakin locked eyes with you and his brows raised all the way up as he mouthed ‘get it’  you rolled your eyes as Rex dipped you trying to give Anakin and Ahsoka time to flee with the wounded spy.  You locked eyes with him as he stared down at you an unreadable emotion flickered behind his eyes as his lips crashed aggressively into yours, you eagerly kissed back sliding your lips over his in a relentless battle for dominance, he gingerly grazed your lower lip with his teeth earning a soft moan from you as you parted for air.  The small crowd around you had burst into whoops and catcalls and cheers as your face turned as red as  tomato, you both took a different exit outside where Anakin and Ahsoka waited patiently,  Ahsoka had a amazed look on her face while Anakin's lips stretched into a devilish smirk as his head snapped between you and Rex “great idea master that was quick thinking we might’ve been a little screwed without you and your mad dancing skills”. You nodded briskly and began speed walking towards the shuttle Anakin caught up with you and threw his arm around your neck “yea and that kiss was gold almost looked real” he teased, you shoved his arm off and flicked his forehead “well it wasn’t it was just for the mission now can we please get out of here before someone spots us” you whisper spat. Anakin just looked at you with a knowing smirk as he walked passed he turned to you for a quick moment “just know….that I ship it” making your cheeks burn in embarrassment, “there’s nothing to ship moron” he entered the ship with a laugh mumbling yeah right while Rex had lingered behind the whole time. You gave a quick glance his way to try and see what he was feeling but he was just plain neutral, you weren’t sure if you were relieved or disappointed not having dissected the kiss yourself, shrugging your shoulders you walked inside brushing it off for another time.
