Chapter 1: Birthday Inspiration
Narrated by Nikki.
Nikki: [Your Name], Momo, thank you for everything you’ve done for me. I still feel like I’m dreaming.
Nikki: I didn’t expect to receive such a special gift on my birthday.
Nikki: Along the way, the scenery, everyone’s blessings, and those good memories...
Nikki: They are lingering in my mind, giving me so much happiness.
Nikki: I’m kind of hoping today won’t end, so this happiness lasts forever.
Nikki: [Your Name], I have an idea. I want to design a dress with this feeling to remember today.
Nikki: [Your Name], could you stay with me for a little bit? We can complete the design together.
Choose “Do you always carry a sketchbook with you?”
You: Do you always carry a sketchbook with you?
Nikki: Yeah. I tend to bring it with me so that I can record my inspiration at any time.
Nikki: I think this dress should be light and beautiful, with spreading branches, and flowers blooming gradually along the branches.
Nikki: When the sun shines on the dress, it will look like a blooming garden.
Nikki: [Your Name], what do you think of that?
Choose “Do you like gardens?”
You: Do you like gardens?
Nikki: Yes. I have always longed for a small garden of my own that I can paint in every day. It’d be cozy.
Nikki: So Aeon and Marina really surprised me today when I received the garden castle from them.
Nikki: And I have designed a lot of garden-related clothes. I also drew such designs while studying for the art exam.
Momo: Is it the design that received a high score?
Nikki: Haha, you still remember, Momo.
Momo: Of course I do! I was impressed because I couldn’t go to the cram school with Nikki.
Momo: And I remember you were under a lot of pressure. It was a hard time.
Choose “What happened then? Can you tell me?”
You: What happened then? Can you tell me?
Nikki: Well, there’s not much to tell. I was tired during the training, and I was away from home for the first time.
Nikki: I couldn’t adapt it.
Nikki: I was practicing painting every day ‘til late at night. Sometimes I even forgot to call home.
Nikki: I had to go to different cities to take the exams. I could barely have a hot meal because I had to catch the trains.
Nikki: I always brought biscuits with me in my bag.
Choose “That sounds very tough.”
You: That sounds like a tough time.
Nikki: It was hard, but I got through it. If it weren’t for studying, I wouldn’t have gotten into the university of my choice.
Nikki: In retrospect, it was exhausting to prepare for the art exam, but that experience made me grow a lot.
Nikki: I want to apply the memory to the design of the dress, as if the flowers on the dress could decorate my garden.

"Henry’s still looking up at the statue, but Alex can’t stop looking at him and the sly smile on his face, lost in his own thoughts. “And James’s son, Charles I, is the reason we have dear Samson. (...) One of the most beautiful pieces we own, and we didn’t even steal it. We only needed Villiers and his trolloping ways with the queer monarchs. To me, if there were a registry of national gay landmarks in Britain, Samson would be on it.” Henry’s beaming like a proud parent, like Samson is his, and Alex is hit with a wave of pride in kind." — Red, White & Royal Blue, Chapter 10
