probably has attempted to do a wheelie with the car more than once before... has had numerous points docked off his license for the stupidest reasons (ie going round a roundabout [the full 360] over and over and over again)

always forgets to turn his lights on at night and attempts to fight the officer that pulls him over. idk how he got his license (he didnt. it's fake but he doesn't know u know it's fake).

ITOSHI SAE

is absolutely silent. sorry if u were expecting more from him but when he's in the car he's iust but i like to think that its a comfortable kind of silence! sometimes he makes small talk but he rlly just prefers calmness be driving is one of the rare opportunities where he gets a bit of a break from his high action lifestyle :(

sae gives me the impression of someone that listens to podcasts and instrumental music over other genres ?? doesn't rlly mind (read: care) if u handle music but don't expect him to breakout into a song

listens to edgy ahh fuckin music icl! also doesn't talk most of the time but what sets him apart from sae is that the silence is very awkward... any attempt at making conversation by u is met with nothing but soul crushing silence

sometimes his intrusive thoughts win n lets his competitive nature get ahead of him at traffic lights be he will race the car next to him for fun ಠ_ಠ

i do like to think that he loves driving the most out of everyone here and bc he drives obsessively, he knows all kinds of routes to all kinds of places (walking gps king so real)

CHIGIRI HYOMA

is probably the most normal driver. he's pretty confident in his skills (rightfully so) but ofc he doesn't pass up any opportunity to let u know that he passed his test w flying colours :/ "did you know that i pa-" every fucking time without fail ( •_•)

is the best at parking :O in fact he's so good at it that he will park in what u think is an impossible spot all be he doesn't want to walk too far

his car always smells new be he LOVES those "new car" scented air fresheners! also his car is always cold bc he refuses to let the humidity ruin his hair

NAGI SEISHIRO

has rlly rlly bad road rage BUT gets mad at u if u also express road rage ?? he tells u to calm down ?? mf ik he aint talking T⌓T

tbh i think he only has short temper be he doesn't necessarily enjoy driving (will only do it if he absolutely has to) and just wants to get home asap!

definitely waits until the very last minute to fill up his car bc of how often (.) he forgets ended up stranded in the middle of nowhere once be of this exact reason. but at least u can always count on him for having a battery pack!

GAGAMARU GIN

drives below the speed limit... would (and has) swerve to the wrong side of the highway to avoid hitting a bird be he doesn't trust that it'd fly away in time (the bird flew away along with his soul bc he was a second away from colliding with a truck)

poor thing always gets honked at by cars behind him be he gives way to EVERYONE (even if he has the right of way) and traffic always piles up.

his car always smells like Those jellybelly jelly beans be he loves sweet-smelling things! im not joking every time u enter his car ur nose is flooded by candy flavoured air ٩(◕‿◕｡)۶

BACHIRA MEGURU

gets distracted rlly easily by any piece of stimuli. oh there's a windmill? nice! u bet his eyes are already following it. roadkill on the side of the road? would point it out and proceed to try and look at it for the next kilometre. probably mourns the thing for the rest of the trip tbh :(

points out livestock grazing on the side of the road! every! time! instigates eye spy every time but chooses the most obscure things and gets surprised whenever u give up

will not hesitate to pick up whenever his mum is calling; doesn't matter if it's super busy on the road or if he's in a crash bc he Will make the time for her

ISAGI YOICHI

is the only mf prepared with everything. he has a mini cooler in the boot stocked with juice and water, his glove box is filled with masks and wet wipes, has a blanket in the back, a 50pc first aid kit in the centre console, snacks in the boot, and insurance papers stashed somewhere.

his car is spotless bc he details and deep cleans it (both interior and exterior) every week bc he is very self-conscious abt his car (n his driving) be he wants his passenger(s) to always be comfy :((

will play (and let u play) any kinda music but during significant soccer matches he will always play a live audio coverage of the match! so im v sorry if u wanted to listen to the new TWICE album but germany v spain is on so ur gonna have 2 wait ;´༎ຶਊ ༎ຶ`;

has pictures of him littered everywhere in the car... u open the sunshade? there's a polaroid of him that falls out :/ this mf the type to sign his car in hopes of making mad bank off reselling it some day as a collector's item of "the great king, kaiser!"

the type of guy to wink at every road camera in case he gets caught for committing a traffic violation ("u can never let them catch u lacking!" kaiser dawg u goin 40 over the limit!)

OLIVER AIKU

has a "honk if ur single" sticker plastered on his back window but always forgets so he gets annoyed whenever ppl honk at him (dawg makes his own problems LMFAOO)

pulls up to red lights next to a conventionally attractive person to roll down his window and wink at them @_@ the police station has definitely received multiple calls from ppl due to his... violating behaviours...

My Favorite 2023 Fanfics

Instead of posting a master list of the fics I published in 2023, I'm just going to give you some of my favorites.

Knock on Wood (Kristanna, T)

“So, like, I’m not really a superstitious guy or anything, you know? But I saw this girl, right, and I’m about to ask her to dance.” He strummed a few times before stopping the strings with his hand and knocking three times on his guitar. “I don’t know, I figure every little bit helps. Couldn't hurt anyway.” A few people clapped and whistled as he strummed the opening to a song Anna hadn’t heard before. Then he smiled. “Maybe y’all can 'Knock on Wood' for me, too.”

I wrote this one for the FHWM Friday the 13th event. It was really fun because I got to set it in a time and place that is near and dear to my heart and I haven't seen many similar AUs. It's also a song fic, and I just had so much fun with it.

Pretty Please (Kristanna, E)

“Show me how bad you want it, Kristoff. Show me how bad you want me to spank you.” “You think I only want to sink my tongue into your $!@# so you’ll spank me?” His smile made her heart flutter as much as his words, but she tested him anyway. “Pretty men say pretty please.’” “You think I’m pretty?” he asked, each word punctuated by a sloppy, wet kiss on her thigh, "when I wear my lace panties?" When she didn't answer, he looked at her with lifted brows and puppy dog eyes. She cupped his cheeks and said, “You're not pretty, Kristoff; you're very pretty."

I wrote this one for the BDSM Exchange. It's not for everyone, but it's probably my favorite fic I've ever written (of all time).

Waffle Waltz (Kristanna, T)

Anna travels to Tromsø, Norway to attend her sister Elsa's wedding, and ends up renting a room with Bulda and her grumpy and resentful son Kristoff, who is the king of waffles. 1. Waffle, Noun: (1) A soft indented cake cooked in waffle iron; (2) Empty or pretentious words 2. Waffle, Verb: (1) Equivocate, vacillate; (2) To blather

This was for the Candy Hearts Exchange. It involved a ton of research and drew on my own knowledge of/experience with folk music and dance, and I consider it to be one of the best (quality-wise) fics I've ever written. I also really love the fun relationship between Anna & Hans.

Hey, Little Girl (Kristanna, E)

Loner Kristoff gets hired by cheerleader Anna’s parents to teach her how to drive because they’ve lost all patience with her. She isn’t what he expects, though, and when he realizes the feelings he’s been harboring for years are reciprocated, he lets down his guard. Then one thing leads to another... and quite possibly the hugest mistake of their lives.

This started as a driver's ed lesson and ended with a prom for Kristanna School Days. In between, I wrote Kristoff probably the most conflicted and tormented I've ever written him (other than Sophisticated Grace). And it was all set to songs by the Ramones! It really has it all, fluff, angst, high school drama, teen pregnancy, first times. Also some of the OCs were really cool.

The Chaise (Gaston x Adam, E)

Adam debates buying a small chaise longue at his local antique shop until he finds out it comes with an extra large delivery man.

I wrote this for my a friend, and TBH I'm still completely tickled by it. Adam seduced Gaston through flattery and it was just so much fun to write!

The Moment I Bit My Lip (Kristanna, E)

Anna shivered as she packed her suitcase. It was winter, the furnace was broken, and they’d run out of firewood. And Kristoff had run out of time. Based on "Love Me Harder" by Ariana Grande ft. The Weeknd

This was a reader request. It was a huge challenge because I tend to write more female-dominant stuff and the song lyrics screamed Kristanna, but at the same time didn't really fit with the kinds of things I usually write. So I had to get a little creative and I absolutely love that. Anyway, I came up with one of the coolest AUs I've written and I absolutely adore this piece.

Boom, Clap! (Kristanna, E)

A sharp pain sears across Kristoff’s face from the force of Anna’s hand slapping him to the present. Stars twinkle just inside his field of vision as he rubs his cheek, and his heart beats faster in excitement. He hasn’t felt this good in years. Until an irate voice says, “What the fuck?” Anna stands in front of him, angrier than ever, and he smiles a little more. “You think that’s funny?” she asks. The correct answer is no, of course, but the right answer is that he’s elated. He looks down to hide the smile he couldn’t make go away. That’s when he sees his brace and remembers his injured leg. The only pain he feels, though, is on his cheek. “I had it handled,” she says and shows him the red rhinestone-encrusted mace attached to her keychain, which her thumb sits on top of. He grins, and says, more bravely than he would have had he not been floating on Cloud 9, “Or you could just slap me again.” Her red lips slowly curve into a cat-like smile. She folds her arms and coolly leans against the wall. Her eyes glitter with mischief, and she purrs, “Well, now you’ve got my attention.”

I wrote this for Smut Week, but it's so much bigger than that. It was a monumental task writing about Kristoff, a war-injured vet, and Anna, the woman that uses pain to take away his pain, but so rewarding as their relationship turned into something so much bigger than h/c for them. It's two people bringing out the absolute best in each other, Kristoff healing in a way he never thought he could, and discovering that he was worthy of giving and accepting love. It's one of the most meaningful things I've written.

Rain Check (Kristanna, E)

Newly divorced Anna goes for a walk to work off some pent-up energy, but gets derailed by rain, a good Samaritan’s garage, and some really great D.

Another Smut Week fic, a follow-up to a cute little one-shot I wrote for myself last year (Future's So Bright, T) and wanted more of. I really love the way Anna and KB love each other. And Anna really goes for what she wants, but ultimately chooses herself and what she needs. I like this AU so much that I did a follow-up fic (Here Comes the Sun, E) and I'm also planning a 30+ multi-chap fic tentatively titled "And If I Change My Mind" to be published hopefully in the next few months.

Valentine Bear (Rydoff, T)

Kristoff gets some unexpected help setting up the Peeps Valentine's Day display at Weselton's Grocery Store when Anna, the assistant manager--and Kristoff's best friend--assigns Ryder to assist. Will Anna's Cupid's arrow strike Kristoff's heart? Or will it knock him down, along with his display?

I had this idea of Kristoff playing with Peeps and using his fake voice to talk for them. Who else talks for Peeps? Ryder of course! It's such a fun concept and I loved writing for them so much that I wrote a short multi-chap sequel (Mint Jelly and Onion Jam). Oh, and I got to explore Anna & Kristoff as adorable best friends and Anna/Hans (Alive and Burning Brighter), also a first!

Behind Adjoined Doors (Kristanna, E)

After seeing her recently engaged ex at her cousin's wedding, Anna sneaks through the adjoining door of her hotel room to have meaningless sex with Kristoff - because it’s not possible to fall for someone you can’t stand, right?

I wrote this one for Smut Week and it still tickles me. Cocky Kristoff is just so... he's a bro. Sort of. At least it seems like he is. And Anna has to open her eyes (and her legs) to see the diamond in the rough hiding right next door.

What's up for 2023? I'm working on a Kristanna Valentine's Day fic (short multi-chap), finishing up All Tied Up and Head Over Feet. Chugging along with The Refugees, and my new upcoming long fic "And If I Change My Mind," set in the Bandana AU.

Ivy was not having the best day. Or, well, couple of months really.

Both Lyf and Raph had been having near constant nightmares that Ivy couldn't soothe, and though Marius was mostly helpful, he could only do so much. The only information she had was that both were having nightmares of their families and death. So, Ivy did what she always did; took to her files to find answers for these nightmares so she could be better equipped. It always went at least somewhat well!

It wasn't going well.

Ivy was reviewing her files over and over, but coming up empty. Sure, it helped that she had her guilty pleasure playlist on, but she was still stumped. She hummed along to bubblegum bitch whilst translating old norse and copying pieces of asgardian police reports to a document full of clues.

She'd figured out that Lyfrassir wasn't a midgardian when they were back in Yggdrasil, and she'd recently gotten the information that he was half jötunn, which were normally restricted to the planet Jötunheim, however that clearly wasn't the case for her dear (ex-)inspector. So pan must have at least one partially non-Jötunn parent, which made the scope both bigger and smaller for potential family members.

Gently singing Dollhouse (one of these days she was going to cover some of these old earth songs even if Johnny complained), she finds an… interesting picture.

"D-O-L-L-H-oh, what's this?" She mutters, examining the photo.

It's distorted and damaged, but nothing she can't fix with some time. The caption reads, "Family Photoshoot Before The Trip!". It shows three people, two adults that are sloppily scribbled out, and a child. The adults are standing on either side of said child, who has the biggest and proudest grin on their face. That child is, as expected, Lyfrassir Edda. This is what Ivy thought she would find, what she hoped to find, even. But this isn't what catches her off guard.

What makes her falter is the fact that the adults are wearing Midgardian Resistance uniforms.

Now, she'd known Lyf had asgardian blood in her, xe were relatively open with the fact even in Yggdrasil, so ae being a child from the time before Odin fucked it all up with her train made sense, given asgardian life spans. But a child of the midgardian resistance? She hadn't even considered it, let alone had a percentage in place. The up-tight cop who had seemed just as pro-asgardian as the other cops (an issue Ivy and the others in jail had known would be worked past), was from the resistance. Okay. Sure.

Ivy set the photo up for restoration, to find out who Lyf's parents were, and got to looking through Raph's oldest sketches to distract herself.

There were a lot of designs for medical stuff and toys, the latter likely due to her being younger when designing them. What's interesting is that Ivy finds designs for wings. No, not wings… wing extensions, designed for underdeveloped wings, sort of mobility aid for flight, with a note in Raph's handwriting on what seems to be the finalized version;

To my father,

I feel these new designs I've made could have massive impacts on life for people with conditions like mine. I hope that you might see the same potential in my work.

Your child, Icarus.

Icarus.

Oh.

It all starts to fall into place in Ivy's mind.

Raph would wake up screaming in the middle of the night, and would immediately check to make sure her wings were there, not letting anyone touch them. Of course she wouldn't let anyone touch her wings after those nightmares. Ivy could almost see what had happened in her mind, based on what she had heard of "Icarus", now Raphaella, and the records of Raph pre-mechanization flashing through her mind.

Wing Status: Cut Off At The Top Of Back

Nine words brought far too much anger than they should have, but Ivy didn't care. If they ever got back to The City, Ivy would like to personally strangle Daedalus-

In all honesty, maybe she should have expected this. Maybe the utter disdain in "extorting quicker tyranny to midgard", and awe for Loki and Sigyn being on the Ratatosk that was shown in Lyf's voice in the original transmission should have given it away, but fuck it if Ivy wasn't shocked by it anyway-

Well. At least she could help her partner's with nightmares now...?

This one is gonna have dark themes jsyk. So this was inspired by a headcanons req I got recently and it re-ignited my love for Kit Walker from AHS Aslyum, so.. Here we are. Buckle up. It's gonna be an interesting ride to say the least. aka, ashes is going to have to do loooots of research to pull this one off accurately. You keep to yourself because it’s easier. Everything is scary for you, there’s too many people and too much noise and some of them are big, mean and scary. And then there’s the orderlies and the nuns and they’re terrifying.

You’ve been abandoned in hell. Nobody’s swooping in to save the day. It’s either Briarcliffe or prison for you and you’re lucky you got sent here even though it doesn’t feel like it most days.

The reality hits hard and it hits fast and in the end, you decide that maybe it’s just better. At least in Briarcliffe, he can’t put his hands on you anymore. He can’t try to force you to be intimate with him just because you’re his wife and that’s how it’s supposed to be. You don’t have to look at him, you don’t have to smell the whiskey on his breath or hear him mock you when you won’t pretend to love him.

What the hell did he expect?

You never wanted to marry him in the first place, your parents and his set it all up like a business transaction. To be fair, this is kind of what it was. You were a peace offering from your family to his .And you went along with it because you were meek and mild and too afraid to stand your ground. Until one day, you weren’t anymore.

,, and anyway, he can’t hurt you anymore now can he?” it’s the fragmented sliver of reality that slips in and jars you.

They keep saying you killed him but it’s all a blur. Blood on your hands, the clink of a tire tool on the concrete out in the garage, the death wheeze when you bent down to watch the life leave his eyes that last time he laid hands on you and you finally snapped. You might have killed him, who knows -you did kill him and you know you did. The doctor in here keeps saying it’s your mind block the trauma when you tell people that he’s alive and kicking and you’re afraid one day he’ll get his hands on you again. And maybe it is. But the fear is real. It’s ever-present and there’s nothing you can do to get rid of it.

Today is your first day in the common area, your first day off of solitary. You’re led in with shackles around your wrist -this is a joke, it’s not like you need restraint, you killed the only person you’ve ever wanted to, after all. And you’re led to a chair next to the big windows with a view of the garden on the grounds.

“You keep actin real good, sweetheart.. You be good t’ me and I might get ‘em to let you out, get some color in those cheeks again.” the guard’s words sound so much like him that your fists clench before you can stop it, your nails leaving crescents in your palm because you dig in so hard as the fear settles in. He takes off the shackles so you can move freely. You’re still trying to figure out why they were necessary. Flinching when the guard leans into you real close and winks. “I’ll come round later, sweetheart. You best be good to me.”

And then a loud voice behind you. Heavy accent.

Shouting and shoving, a brown haired man and the guard rolling on the floor.

The fight’s broken up and the guard goes off to fix his injuries. The brown haired man sits down on the sill of the window. “Name’s Kit.”

You give him a weak smile and your eyes dart around, it’s almost as if you’re terrified that any minute, he’ll jump out, drag you by your hair down the corridor because you’re so close to another man.

You’re non-verbal for the most part, so you pick up the pen and notepad left behind for you.

I’m ___.

Kit furrows his brows and stares at you a few seconds when you shove the notepad at him. He finally takes it, brown eyes dancing over the words, a roguish grin playing at nice lips. He’s got a kind face and if you were more talkative, -maybe one day, the thought comes, you’d tell him so.

For now, you keep it to yourself.

He takes the pen from your hands and you bite your lip when rough and thick digits brush against your smaller and more delicate fingers. He’s got his head dipped low, eyes trained on the notepad. As his tongue rolls over his lips, he writes out what he wants to say to you.. Just in case all the noise and talking bothers you or somethin.

– That’s a pretty name, dollface. Heard what that guard said to y’. He won’t bother you again. I promise.

He holds out the notepad and you take it, biting your lips as you read over what he’s written out. You glance up at him and he’s studying you, curious.

It’s almost like he wants to ask you something, he’s just not going to.

- Thank you. You can call me whatever you like. Please don’t get yourself hurt or in any kind of trouble with the orderlies on my account, Kit. Please don’t.

You hold it back out to him and he takes it, reading. Dragging a big and rough hand through dark brown hair. Chuckling as he rubs his chin and thinks for a few seconds before reaching out to take the pen.

- Think I’m gonna call you doll. Dollface. You’re cute. Don’t worry your pretty little head, doll. Y’ need somebody to look out for y’, alright? Trust me.

He holds the notepad and pen back out to you and you take it, twisting the pen between your fingers as you gaze at the words on the paper. You can feel your cheeks burn when you read what he’s said about you being cute. It’s probably the first nice thing anyone’s ever said to you. You glance up at him and shake your head no at him, frowning. Then you take the pen and start to write out your response.

-Kit.. Please don’t. It’s not worth the trouble, okay?

It is, doll. And I’m going to, whether y’ want me to or not.

You sigh when he shows you the notepad. He’s probably one of those stubborn types. Nothing you say will matter, he’s going to do what he wants, regardless.

Do you want to walk around? The guard is full of shit. You can walk, you just can’t go out yet. They did it to me too.

You nod and he holds out his hand. You gaze at it warily but you reach out and you take hold of it. Kit pulls you up from where you’re sitting and he leads you out of the room. As you roam the halls with him, he tells you about what got him put in, he tells you that he knows some of why you were put in too and you swallow hard when he admits that. As you round a corner, he stops you both, putting a hand up against the column of your neck. “This is.. It’s okay, right?”

You nod. He smiles a little, it’s a sweet little grin, his cheeks turning a pale pink. “I’m gonna take care of you now, alright? Everything is gonna be just fine, doll.”

what instruments genshin characters would play (mondstadt edition)

a/n: hey yalls this is my first writing post bc i am in severe genshin brainrot rn 😀 anyways, some are based on my personal experiences and my opinions LMAO please excuse me if any characters might be ooc :’)

albedo:

-the oboe

-he’s smart as hell bro, i think he’d pick up a complex instrument for fun

-he practices the oboe during whatever little downtime he has in between (not a problem since he’s quick to pick it up)

-he learned alot of melodies and sweet songs to play for klee whenever she comes sees him

-he’s the chief alchemist, of course reed prices and maintenance aren’t a problem for him (klee accidentally set some reeds on fire one time)

amber:

-the drums!! specifically the tenor drums

-i feel like since she’s an archer, her arms and wrists can handle the chops of tenors

-she has stickers from klee, collei, and eula on the sides of her drums :’)

-collei’s stickers are usually just leaves from sumeru but shhh don’t ruin it for them

-one time, kaeya was holding her drums and dropped them on accident. she cried the rest of the day (they were unscathed but she side eyes her drums anytime kaeya is nearby)

barbara:

-since she’s a singer, she’s soprano

-yknow that one fiona scene from shrek 1? the one where fiona sings to the birds? yea

-she purposely screeches and goes off key whenever that one sicko is nearby (the one who crushes on her despite being an old HAG)

-at some point, barbara tried teaching jean how to sing… jean is now forbidden from singing near the church

-sometimes her fans faint from the sudden solo she has in the middle of an instrumental piece

-she’s also training in opera <3

bennett:

-the bass drum!!

-you may never notice the bass drum, but it’s there to support and carry the orchestra. it’s the most important instrument. (just like him in most of yalls teams)

-one time the conductor told him to play as loud as he can and he broke the concert bass drum. he now temporarily has to rely on a marching bass drum for the time being.

-he places stickers from klee, fischl, and razor on his drum ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡

-as a way of training his muscles, he LUGS it home every day to practice (his dads encourage him to do his best as they wear earplugs)

-sometimes he lays on his drum when he’s feeling tired

-whenever he breaks a bass drum, he and razor empty it out, climb in it, and have fischl roll them down a slope

diluc:

-i can see him playing the bass clarinet

-doesnt have a lot of down time, but since he’s good with his fingers ( 🤺) he has good muscle memory

-accidentally left his reed on the mouthpiece and didn’t play for a couple weeks due to work. the next time he opened the case, he found mold growing.

-kaeya anonymously leaves new reeds (the expensive ones) for him at his doorstep. diluc thinks it’s either jean or lisa leaving him the reeds :’)

diona:

-the trumpet

-she performs at the cats tail often to get people to stop drinking temporarily and focus on her

-anytime her dad tries talking to her while he’s drunk, she blasts her trumpet in his face and runs off

-i feel like she’d be a classy girlie and has a silver trumpet

-her music sheets are covered in cat paws

eula:

-i can see her rocking a tuba

-doesn’t show up for practice at all due to her status

-somehow already knows what is expected of her so no worries there tbh

-one time she found a half eaten sandwich inside her tuba and mika was so quick to air out the potential culprits 😭

fischl:

-the viola

-oz sometimes has to DRAG her to practice because she wants to be out and about

-who needs music stands when you can have oz amirite?

-says she’d never audition for a solo but you catch her often practicing ( ◠‿◠ ) no wonder she always gets them with ease

jean:

-i can see her playing the organ!!

-mostly bc it’s easy for her to remember amongst everything else she has to do

-doesn’t practice very often due to work (；ﾞﾟ'ωﾟ'):

-sometimes plays to relieve stress and immerse herself temporarily

-barbara may have banned her singing, but she certainly doesn’t mind hearing a soft organ being played while she tidies up the cathedral for the next day

kaeya:

-tenor saxophone

-literally another reason why girls are attracted to him

-secretly wishes that diluc and him are paired up for a duet bc how FUCKING COOL WOULD THAT BE?? (๑>◡<๑)

-he is a strong hater of the soprano saxophone and no one knows why

-diluc anonymously pays for his repairs whenever kaeya has to get it fixed

klee:

-she’d play the violin

-albedo temporarily suspended her private lessons as klee kept running off to go blow up fish

-she got so upset one time that she played to soothe herself and ended up breaking a string which led to more tears

-don’t worry!! albedo paid to get it repaired :’)

-klee begged albedo to draw on her violin case. he drew dodoco on her case and now she brags about it everywhere she goes (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`)

lisa:

-she’d play the cello hello

-often shows up to practice because she enjoys seeing everyone (she’ll NEVER admit it)

-i feel like in her akademiya days, she would have done music education as a side project

-she takes great care of her instrument and plays for the traveler (not without another date to follow behind ahem)

mona:

-yknow i can see her playing the flute

-it’s all beaten up bc she can’t afford repairs ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

-somehow still manages to make it work?? no one knows how it’s possible with its current state

-fischl and her have been trying to make a duet together but they sometimes end practice early bc of their bickering

noelle:

-the euphonium

-SHE’S SO SWEET AND BRINGS SNACKS FOR EVERYONE TO EAT AFTER PRACTICE (mona stuffs her hat with them to take home)

-always practices and knows her material before practice (even dips into music theory)

-practices many solo parts but never seems to land her own ://

-gets too shy to play when singled out by the conductor :’)

razor:

-probably the timpani

-enjoys going wild on it

-sometimes if you squint enough during a ballad where timpani’s aren’t needed, you’ll find him sleeping behind his instrument

-bennett accidentally broke one of the drums and razor felt so let down by it that he lugged it all the to wolvendom so bennett wouldn’t touch it anymore

-likes to lay on it during downtime

rosaria:

-the tuba

-sees the instrument as a way of creating music without being exposed by a distinct sound

-definitely can’t read sheet music and goes by ear o(｀ω´ )o

-sometimes hides in her tuba case so barbara doesn’t come looking to drag her away to the church

sucrose:

-the triangle LMAO

-just like albedo, doesn’t have much time so she picked up a simple instrument to memorize

-gets slightly competitive with other triangle players

-my triangle is better than yours

-if you look on her music stand, she’ll have one page of her sheet music and the other page is an alchemy practice problem set (＞人＜;)

venti:

-ik it’s canon he can play the flute and lyre

-so his third instrument is the harp

-loves the sound it makes and he truly enjoys practicing when he’s not drinking

-the other archons sometime hear him from the winds carrying his musical notes to them

-he plays the among us theme song and sends it personally to zhongli (this has angered him to no ends)

-enjoys seeing his people playing in the same room and somewhat getting along! it settles his mind :))

-another wholesome point but the archons pooled enough mora and resources to make his beautifully crafted and most monstadt people are so confused on how he obtained such a luxurious instrument despite being a broke ass mf

Alright, some more Ahsoka thoughts under the cut. Spoilers beware.

So we actually get an opening crawl of sorts, and the Star Wars logo is red too. Filoni definitely trying to make this an event.

People have been rightfully comparing the opening scene where Baylan and Shin break into the New Republic ship to The Phantom Menace and A New Hope’s openers. Honestly not as on the nose as I was expecting.

The opening scene with Ahsoka where she finds the map did feel a bit too long. Like I understand trying to set a slower tone, but I feel like this went on for a bit.

Speaking of the map, anyone getting The Force Awakens flashbacks? All they needed to do was give it to Chopper, lol.

So the three figures in that mural... I have no idea if it’s going to be significant down the line, but the fact that there’s three of them makes one wonder... Mortis gods?

“Location of the last missing Imperial Grand Admiral”. So do they know where Sloane is? Or is she going to be presumed dead (along with the proto-First Order types?), like they seemed to think Thrawn was until the whispers of his return? Either way, just a small detail, and one that people are probably gonna get way too hung up over.

I will say Ahsoka definitely looks better than in previous appearances. IDK if it’s the performance, my own jadedness based on the controversy around Rosario Dawson, or an intentional character choice that is making it harder to connect with her at first, but Ahsoka weirdly doesn’t have that much of a presence? Like, there’s a stoicism to the character, but even when other characters are around, they always end up feeling like they stand out more than her. Hopefully they’re building to something, otherwise it’s going to be weird to have your lead character feel this distant.

“It’s never a straight line with you Jedi”. Why do I feel like Hera was thinking of Kanan when she said that? Maybe Ezra too for that matter.

I do wonder what Ahsoka specifically heard that lead her on the trail to Elsbeth, TBH.

So with Ahsoka and Sabine, we still don’t really know what happened. We know at some point Ahsoka agreed to train her, but then gave up on her and left.

Lothal looks cool! Okay maybe some shots do look clearly fake, but I like seeing that aesthetic translate into live-action, and also seeing Lothal after the Imperial occupation rebuilt.

Ryder Azadi is back, wasn’t sure if he would be back but it’s a cool connection nonetheless. Jai Kell is apparently Lothal’s senator now too. Stuff like this definitely adds to the feeling of it being a continuation.

Not sure how I feel about Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera. I THINK I like her? There’s one or two scenes where I find myself questioning it, but then there’s others where I think she works perfectly fine.

Of our main heroes, Sabine was easily the standout character. I do feel like they could’ve found a better actor to look the part (I do think she’s a bit pale for Sabine’s complexion, but that’s a whole can of worms to open and I’m probably not the person most invested in this topic), but even if her performance is quite different to what Tiya Sircar did, I feel like she manages to embody the character well in her own way.

I do like seeing Sabine the way we did. That opening scene for her with her on the speeder chased by the E-wings was pretty cool, the fact that the Kiners decided to have a rock track play over it only added to the feeling of Sabine’s rebelliousness (also NGL with the sudden change in sound from the usual Star Wars score, I thought for a moment they were playing a licensed song, but nope it’s just an in-universe track I guess XD). You do get the sense she’s feeling pretty lost after everything that happened. Like Sabine’s lothcat too.

Also, confirmation that Ezra recorded another message specifically for Sabine. No real comments on Eman Esfandi’s portrayal yet, but I do hope to see more of Ezra.

“But you’re like a sister to me.” This line is sweet of course but primarily I find it unintentionally hilarious because Season 1 Ezra was really trying to hit on her. Obviously this is Ezra at the end of Rebels and he grew out of that crush and his bond with Sabine was more serious and of course platonic... but still. Lol.

Just noticed Shin has a padawan braid. Seems like Baylan is still doing Jedi stuff but isn’t operating as one? Also, neat touch that Huyang was able to identify Baylan from his lightsabre, but not Shin because obviously hers would be constructed well after he was around to document it.

Speaking of which... no explanation on why Huyang is around. I mean, I’m not complaining, but it’s kind of wild this major piece of Jedi history was able to avoid being hunted down and destroyed by the Empire.

Morgan Elsbeth confirms she’s a Nightsister, and the temple on Arcada Ahsoka was raiding (which is what she got out of her in Mando S2) was apparently built by them. It sounds like the Nightsisters may have been bigger many millennia ago.

Alright so we still don’t know what the deal with Marrok is, if they’re a familiar face or just some new ex-Inquisitor. Elsbeth is lucky to have managed to hire three Force Sensitive mercenaries, huh? Marrok doesn’t even have any lines, lol.

So with Ahsoka and Sabine’s relationship, we’re not really sure what happened yet. I think we might learn more over the course of the show, but from what I can tell, Sabine’s feeling pretty disillusioned after losing Ezra (even acting surprised at the idea he might be alive), and even if it’s yet to come up, I’m sure the Great Purge on Mandalore affected her too. She isn’t at the celebration of Lothal’s liberation because that day is painful for her. She seems to be lacking a sense of purpose. Ahsoka probably saw these things and realised she couldn’t commit, hence leaving her. The fact that Sabine and Huyang confirm that she never showed any Force sensitivity is just salt in the wound. So I guess that still begs the question: what happened to make them initially train together in the first place?

I love how Huyang makes sad eyes when Ahsoka talks about how she left the Jedi (I think he does it in other scenes too but this was when it stood out to me the most). “Sometimes even the right reasons have the wrong consequences” I think is a standout line for sure, Ahsoka definitely still feels guilt for Vader’s existence. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is affecting a lot of her decisions, like her lack of faith in Sabine (maybe she’s afraid that being taught by the Jedi who became Vader would cause her to create that again?).

Oh yeah, Ahsoka saying she did some stuff that wasn’t very Jedi to get the map info from Elsbeth... yeah, still no Jedi, apparently. Even if she’s gotta get dark.

When Sabine reacts to Ahsoka mentioning the Nightsisters, I definitely think she was thinking back to the creepy ghost possessing her.

Shin is obviously young and seems quite impressionable, always asking questions and needing to know what to do from her superiors, so she’s still clearly inexperienced. She definitely wrecked Sabine there, though. Cue someone complaining about another character surviving a stab wound when characters like Qui-Gon never did or whatever.

I do think it’s cool that Sabine is still showing her wide skillset to do things like analyse the map and get info out of the HK assassin droid head. The one to one with Hera was nice too. I like that Hera thinks they’re gonna work best if they’re together and she’s trying to make that happen, heck even Huyang is. Lol at Hera also saying that them both being difficult is what she thought would “make it work”.

We catch up with Elsbeth on Seatos, who has some big teases and reveals. She describes the location she’s showing the map with it as being built by people from a distant galaxy millennia ago. So yeah, Star Wars is finally going extragalactic, at least in a major way. Seems Thrawn and Ezra wound up in this distant galaxy these people that traveled here did (I wonder if the connection between the Arcana and Seatos locations implies the Nightsisters also built this, implying that they themselves are extragalactic... which is one big can of worms to open for sure).

So Baylan describes the route they’re taking as the “Pathway to Peridea”. IDK if Peridea is this new galaxy or a specific world or place in it, but yeah. Apparently even the Jedi had stories about this.

Elsbeth acts and sounds very witchy, appropriate for a Nightsister. In a particularly eerie moment, she says Thrawn “calls to her” (which must be how she knows all of this shit to even get to him in the first place, how she knew she needed the map with the right route to this galaxy and all that) and even describes it as being from “across time and space”. Those specific words make me wonder if there’s some World Between Worlds type shit going on. Also what is even calling to her? Is it really Thrawn, or someone from this distant galaxy? If this IS Thrawn, what does this mean for him? What has he found that is enabling him to reach out this far?

Morgan is constructing a ship called the Eye of Sion to travel to Peridea, one that is pretty huge and requires hyperdrives of super star destroyers. Side note, but it’s cool that the villains seem to be ahead of the heroes here. And this is even without Thrawn’s strategic genius.

Okay, hiring a Jewish actor to play your shady businessman character... I think someone should’ve thought about the optics of that a bit more.

That one questionable casting choice aside, I do think it’s an interesting idea to have ex-Imperials who are still loyal to the Empire still working in places like these shipyards. Big structural change is hard, and it tracks with the New Republic we’ve seen to rush things and overlook things like this.

We see Chopper again, which is cool.

Huyang saying “Lady Tano” gives me Maul flashbacks, lol.

Sabine feels like Ahsoka came back just because she was useful to her, and well Huyang’s account of things certainly doesn’t help that (because it WAS Hera’s idea to let Sabine know the news). Also, Sabine cutting her hair and putting her armour back on. The haircut definitely called back to Kanan’s for sure.

The final conversation between Bayland and Elsbeth was interesting too. Through these episodes I’m definitely getting the impression Baylan is following some kind of code, or at least isn’t just simply just a bad guy there to do bad guy things. Honestly, Shin has seemed more ruthless so far, lol. But especially when he says stuff like “it would be a shame to kill [Ahsoka]” and how he doesn’t immediately attack in the opening scene of the first episode is intriguing. Anyway, the giant hyperdrive ring that is the Eye of Sion seems close to completion, I have a feeling next week it might be.

I do like the tone the show’s going for. It’s no Andor, but it does feel a bit more serious than The Mandalorian, with more scenes that slow down for character beats and such. Also appreciate that they’re truly trying to make this feel epic, even for a TV show filmed in the volume. Filoni is definitely getting better directing live-action, and of course after her Boba Fett outing Steph Green is great. It definitely is adding to the Space Opera feel more than say the Space Western that is The Mandalorian.

So yeah, enjoyed this premiere! Goddammit Filoni, still finding ways to suck me in. :P

Louis’s voice is my comfort place. When I noticed he had developed pitching problems, it just made me sad for him and mad (🤬🔪) at all the people who made him feel like he wasn’t good enough. Maybe it doesn’t make me the most technically-based admirer of music, but I would rather listen to Louis’s voice than any other current artist, tbh even when he had the worst of his pitching problems. Speaking and singing, too. I could easily listen to Louis sing or speak for many many hours. And I actually have, which can be bad for my sleeping schedule. I am so happy Louis has worked on his voice and that is mostly because it clearly makes him feel more confident and I always want our Louis to be confident in himself. I feel like no matter how much Louis works on his voice, there is a certain set of people who are always going to criticise it. It’s an easy and accepted target to criticise Louis for that, sanctioned and pushed by Syco from the beginning of 1D. And Louis’s voice has never sounded grating or whiny to me. And I only ever need silence in 1D songs for Louis’s solos. If a 1D song ever comes on, I always rewind Louis’s part multiple times so I can hear just him and then I can sing along with him. His solo music is a literal dream come true for me. Whole songs of just Louis? My favourite thing 🫂🔥

When Louis’ album came out, I really didn’t know what to expect. I liked his first solo singles but they weren’t my favorite genre— I preferred soft rock like Harry’s first album (which is why he was my favorite then).

However, in 2018 I was already a big fan of Louis’ and was patiently waiting for his album. When Two of Us came out, I was really excited to hear the rest of the album but still tentative; I didn’t know what the balance of the songs would sound like.

Louis’ performance at Hits Live Birmingham in May 2019 was a miracle. To come back after Fizzy’s death and perform with all his heart— technically brilliantly, looking like a sexy rock star, giving a flirty and seductive interview while being very cool— that was very impressive to me.

And of course CCME blew me away. The level of songwriting and the performance— while not technically perfect— was on another level. He was ready. Those songs were some of the best he had ever written.

And the performance in front of that mixed crowd, most of whom weren’t there to see him: he won people over.

However, the songs from Walls that we didn’t hear until the album’s release: Fearless, Only the Brave, Always You— those sealed the deal for me. I listened through the album getting more excited and more emotional every minute. I remembered a Tumblr post saying the blogger only listened to 1D for Louis’ solos, and another post saying we should all shut up during Louis’ solos, and now we have an entire album only of Louis’ singing. We had so few Louis solos in 1D that we couldn’t really hear all the technical brilliance of his voice — the ease of singing big pop choruses in 1D’s highest range, the emotional turns of phrasing, the raspy growl of the low range. And now there was a whole album and Louis did not disappoint. If anything, 36 minutes was way too short. He could equal any of the 1D boys in their vocal tricks and then some. The album also brought in beautiful, elegant, brilliantly placed falsettos (Always You, Defenceless, Only the Brave)— something I’ve always wanted to hear Louis sing.

His voice is a gift. There’s none quite like it. But you can say that about the rest of Louis too.

SOUTH ARCADE: THE ARC ANGEL TOUR

12.03.2024 @ O2 Academy 3, Birmingham (250 Capacity) ⚠️ TW: some flashing lights in video ⚠️

Written March 2024

First concert of the year and there’s no better way to kick it off than South Arcade. Having seen them just 6 months prior, I knew that it was going to be a good night and the Oxford-based band did not disappoint. Imagine if a 2000s pop it girl made rock music and you get South Arcade, a British rock band slowly breaking onto the scene. It’s a classic ‘pop diva has an emo phase’ sound and it’s absolutely wonderful to hear in real time. Having been on 2 tours already this year, they’re quickly becoming one of the acts to look out for in the coming years.

I had been in contact with the band about potentially coming to the gig beforehand to observe/help out as work experience - that didn't end up happening but they put me on the guestlist instead! I was still able to watch change-over in between sets though as we were at the barricade for the whole gig and it was interesting to watch because I actually knew what each crew member was doing and why.

The first opener was a heavy rock/metal band called Tropic Gold that I’d not heard of before, but I will definitely be checking them out at a later date. They were phenomenal. The second opener was a singer called Beren Olivia who had heard of but not yet listened to her music. Her set was just her and her guitarist, which meant that we got a nice, calmed down acoustic set of her punchy rock-influenced pop songs, including a part-cover of ‘Sugar, We’re going down’ by Fall Out Boy. I didn't realise till after the gig that she recorded backing vocals on one of my favourite songs, 'Every Heart but Mine' by Dylan, who I've gone to see in concert twice.

South Arcade blew all expectations, as expected tbh. We got to hear one of my favourites of their songs, ‘Nepo baby’ live as well as 2 unreleased songs, including ‘Riptide’ which is more than likely to be the band’s next single. To be able to hear covers of sk8er boi AND I kissed a girl in the same night was completely surprising and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Cody’s incredible drumming skills are enhanced by Harry & Ollie on Guitar and bass with just enough room to aid Harmony’s unreal vocals. It’s all the y2k nostalgia in a rock show but with clear modern rock elements coming through.

@artbyamixx had gotten the band to sign an in-progress zine in September, and managed to get finished copies to hand out to friends we had met last time and to the band members when we got the chance to talk to them after the show and they absolutely loved them. Each page corresponded with a single of theirs (the most recent ones) and she’d even hand-sewn stitches onto a picture of a heart on one page!

It’s crazy that in just under 6 months, the band are playing shows at venues over double the size, they’ve grown so much in such a small amount of time and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. At this rate I’ll be going to every one of their headline tours!

I've finished watching the new cm. Here are my thoughts:

Tbh i didn't think this was going to happen. I thought it was just a rumor or a lie, i didn't expect it to happen, let alone so soon.

I don't think this was necessary. CM ran for a really long time from 2005-2020 over the course of 15 seasons. I think where season 15 left off was good enough for the show. Considering that the show is very formula based imo it probably should have ended sooner because it was really repetitive, there wasn't any development, and when they released both of those things were true they'd come up with the most crazy, random, hysterical, bullshit ideas just to keep the show going.

I'm very glad that Reid is not here. That's probably the best decision they've made. Now they have to find a different plot point other than "let's fuck up Reid more than he already is"

This new version of cm is very different from the show we know and love. No theme song, longer run time (may just be bc it was the pilot), different tone, different dynamics, different acting, different budget, etc.

I think the acting all around was not good. It didn't come off as professional or convincing. The best parts are when the actors get back to the swing of their characters. Penelope Garcia was fantastic the whole time and she felt exactly how she used to be. Will and JJ's marriage is still as soft and tender as how it used to be. Luke still has chemistry and tension with Penelope. Even though JJ and Penelope don't have a single scene together, JJ gets excited when she sees her via video. Emily is still a good and passionate friend.

I think the best thing this did to the original cm is that it expanded things on a personal level off screen. The storytelling of the characters has always been sloppy, uncaring, and overall hit or miss with the show but i what happened in evolution is a great improvement! All this shit happened off screen and instead of leaving it alone, they actually told us what happened. Penny having her own baking club and setting up SOAR, JJ's kid, Rossi's wife dying, where the gang has been over the years, the dynamics, the situation, who's here and who isn't, all those details made it a better experience.

The events also feel realistic. The BAU not being what it used to be, everyone being divided, etc. It was a good touch

But even with that said some elements were very sloppy. I don't think this unsub was very compelling, there were definitely more innovative and creative ways to reintroduce the show. And the way they cut it off there at the end too. It's... intriguing. But not only that, but the way the BAU is now split up, the relationships, how that 1 guy was just walking over Emily the whole time, where JJ's kids were, i didn't understand those things and i needed further explanation. Although it's good to have off screen storytelling there are also moments were you need to explain what's going on.

Anyway the best part of the episode was Penelope and Luke. Will i come back to cm? Idk, if it proves itself worthy and peaks my interest again, then we'll see.

If you do somehow manage to get to him, he is leaving

He's renting his own place on the other side of the Devildom and filing several restraining orders against you

He is not afraid to kill you at this point

Literally does not care how much trouble he could get in for killing the exchange student, he just wants to stop suffering

Mans already has zero patients left to begin with and you are driving him into the negatives

You're higher on his list than Lucifer at this point, which is honestly a huge accomplishment

However, you won't have much time to celebrate when he's on the verge of shoving your trombone down your throat

Only accepts it if you're using it to torment Lucifer, but that's it

Look, you are his precious human and he loves you very much

But he will not hesitate to kill you right now

As much as he'd hate to ruin his nails, he's not above getting violent when his beauty routine is on the line

5e Sona, the Maven of the Strings build (League of Legends)

Revealing my Champion Mastery just to say that I play a lot of Sona. Don’t flame me for playing Seraphine and Yuumi I swear to god, and I have no idea why Teemo is in my top 10 highest mastery champs ngl.

Anyways you have no idea how happy I am as a Sona main that my girl is now top tier. I came to League of Legends from Overwatch (yes really) and I used to main Lucio in OW along with some of the more “techy” characters like Symmetra and Torbjorn. (Came to OW from TF2 where I mained Engineer and Medic.) Sona was a natural fit for me as a champion who was both easy to play and very similar to Lucio. It also helps that I joined the Rift during the single most engaging meta to ever grace this game. I was kinda too shit to play Janna but the Ardent Censer meta is also why I have such a high mastery on Lulu tbh.

But enough about my history with League: Sona! Honestly when I think of an archetypical support Sona pops into my head a lot sooner than Soraka: a champion based on empowering their teammates in as many ways as possible with heals, shields, movement speed, and CC to hold the enemy team down. I’ve always loved playing her because she feels like much more of a macro oriented character than other supports, with team-wide support as opposed to keeping one person alive like Soraka or Yuumi or focusing on CC like Morgana and Nami.

I’m going to build most if not all the champions eventually but man I am happy to tackle Sona now. She’s always been on my mind as my main but it was pretty difficult to think of how to make her. I think this build is good enough though!

Wow that was much longer of an intro than I’m used to. You can really tell which champions I’m excited for lol.

GOALS

Everything in harmony - Sona boosts everyone on her team with her songs as they fill the air.

Triple time! - Sona’s ability to boost her whole team into a good position is always beneficial.

Crescendo! - Fun fact: Sona’s ultimate is canonically extremely painful as she forces you to contort your limbs against your will. Why is Sona needlessly macabre? Well remember that Riot also wrote Volibear as an Eldritch old god.

RACE

Sona is Human but if you want to be cool you can make her a Kalashtar for resistance to Psychic damage and advantage on Wisdom saves. Regardless we’re going to be making what’s known as a dollar store Kalashtar with Variant Human. Increase your Charisma by 1 as well as your Constitution because we kinda don’t need much else. You also get proficiency in one skill of your choice which will of course be Performance, and a language which you can pick as you fancy: you won’t be speaking it anyways lmfao.

That’s because “Only you can hear me summoner; what masterpiece shall we play today?” Grab the Telepathic feat to complete this dollar store Kalashtar package. Increase your Charisma score by 1 and get a 60 foot telepathy to speak while being mute. You also learn the Detect Thoughts spell and can cast it once without using a spell slot. "Did he want... four autographs? I don't understand."

ABILITY SCORES

15; CHARISMA - Charisma is tied to performance and all the other stuff a Demacian noblewoman is expected to be good at.

14; DEXTERITY - Something something medium armor; even if you wear a dress there’s no reason you can’t have some padding beneath it!

13; STRENGTH - Hey this isn’t something something medium armor!

12; CONSTITUTION - Sona may be squishy in League but I value not dying more than good skill checks honestly.

10; WISDOM - Speaking of not dying: Wisdom saves are more common, and Insight is more useful than most Intelligence skills.

8; INTELLIGENCE - We had to dump something so unfortunately Intelligence gets the short end of the stick. You may have studied under the illustrious Buvelle family but most of those lessons were music classes.

If you want a better stat array going 13 / 14 / 12 / 10 / 10 / 14 with Point Buy is perfectly viable, and if your DM is cool enough to let you multiclass without Strength then you’re more than welcome to dump it.

BACKGROUND

There’s two obvious backgrounds that fit Sona: the first is Entertainer for proficiency with Acrobatics and a skill of your choice (since we already took Performance lol.) You also get proficiency with Disguise Kits and your Etwahl! (That’s what Sona’s instrument is called btw.) Your background feature By Popular Demand allows you to play any stage once. "Some, just the once.” You can perform in exchange for a place to stay, and when you do so the local people will remember your wonderful performance!

But making an Entertainer Bard is kinda cliché, no? If you want to lean into Sona’s Demacian heritage go for the Noble background. This gives you proficiency with Persuasion and History as well as a gaming set of your choice: unfortunately Tellstones isn’t an option (unless your DM decides otherwise!) so a Dragonchess Set will do well enough. Oh and you get another language that you won’t speak: fun! Your Position of Privilege makes it easy for you to arrange meetings with other important people, and the commonfolk will be kind and cordial with you.

I personally opted to go for Noble when making this build, but if you want to choose Entertainer go right ahead! Backgrounds don’t affect too much overall and it’s up to you (and your DM) to make your own Sona!

THE BUILD

LEVEL 1 - BARD 1

I mean what else did you expect? Bards get proficiency in three musical instruments of their choice: a Lyre is the closest you’ll get to Sona’s Etwahl, though a Dulcimer is also pretty close. I’d also recommend grabbing a Lute since most magical instruments come in Lute variety.

You also get proficiency in 3 skills of your choice like Perception to watch wards, Insight to watch people, and Athletics for a bit of Tenacity to break out of grapples. (As well as potentially grab some people yourself! Although Acrobatics is also perfectly fine for escaping grapples.)

As a Bard you can boost your ADC with Bardic Inspiration, letting them add a d6 to attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws. You have a number of these equal to your Charisma modifier and they come back after a Long Rest.

But of course the main reason to play a Bard is to do Demacian-banned Spellcasting! You learn two cantrips from the Bard list like Vicious Mockery for some diminuendo, making it harder for the enemy to hurt your allies while also cutting them down to size. (I don’t know if your DM will let you slap your Etwahl angrily and then point at them judgingly, but you may have to break your vow of silence every now and then.) You can also learn Prestidigitation for all sorts of general magic stuff that you really shouldn’t do in front of anyone important.

You of course also learn 4 Bard spells like Cure Wounds and Healing Word for the atypical healing spells, Dissonant Whispers for some Hymn of Valor damage, and Detect Magic which you’ll likely be expected to cast as the designated support. *Sigh* Always gotta buy wards.

LEVEL 2 - BARD 2

Second level Bards could be called a Jack of All Trades, as you get to add half your proficiency bonus to any skill you aren’t proficient in. This means even if your ability scores are bad the skills you don’t have proficiency in are still good enough! You also get Song of Rest, letting your allies recover an extra d6 of health during Short Rests. And if you have Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything Magical Inspiration will let your allies add their Bardic Inspiration to the damage or healing of a spell they cast!

And finally you can learn another spell: against as the designated support you’re expected to take Identify.

LEVEL 3 - BARD 3

Third level Bards get Expertise in two skills: Performance is an obvious must and Persuasion would probably be good as well.

But more importantly you get to choose your Bardic College and if you want to both shield your allies and speed them up look no further than the College of Glamour! That’s because Mantle of Inspiration grants 5 temporary hitpoints to a number of creatures within 60 feet of you equal to your Charisma modifier (which can include yourself by the way!) Additionally those creatures can move up to their movement speed as a reaction without provoking opportunity attacks, making this a great tool to reposition an ally who’s caught in a dangerous position!

You’re also capable of creating an Enthralling Performance: if you perform for at least 1 minute, you can attempt to inspire wonder in your audience. At the end of the performance you can choose a number of humanoids within 60 feet of you who watched and listened to all of it, up to a maximum equal to your Charisma modifier. Each target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed by you.

While charmed in this way, the target idolizes you, and speaks glowingly of you to anyone who talks to them. They also hinder anyone who opposes you, although they avoid violence unless it was already inclined to fight for you. This effect ends on a target after 1 hour unless they take any damage, you attack it, or it witnesses you attacking or damaging any of its allies. If a target succeeds on its saving throw the target has no hint that you tried to charm it, and you can use this ability once per Short or Long Rest.

Finally you can learn second level spells like Hold Person, for a one-man version of your ultimate.

LEVEL 4 - BARD 4

Ah the first of many Ability Score Improvements. You may have noticed our deliberately uneven Charisma modifier: that’s because I’m going to be taking the Fey Touched feat for +1 to your Charisma, the Misty Step spell (for Flash, of course), and the Gift of Alacrity spell from Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount for a Song of Celerity! Accelerated movement? I concur.

You can also learn another spell as well as another cantrip! For your cantrip take Mage Hand for help warding those hard-to-reach areas, and for your spell take Lesser Restoration, because yeah it’s also your job to buy Mikael’s. *Sigh.*

LEVEL 5 - BARD 5

5th level Bards get a Font of Inspiration that lets their Bardic Inspiration come back after a Short Rest as well as a Long Rest. That’s good because your Bardic Inspiration increases to a d8, which also boosts your Mantle of Inspiration to grant 8 temporary hitpoints!

You can also learn another spell like Hypnotic Pattern: while it won’t do any damage and your allies can’t hit the dancing enemies it’ll still be the best recreation of your ultimate for now.

LEVEL 6 - PALADIN 1

I hope you weren’t expecting this to be a pure Bard build, because then I’d just be building Seraphine again! Grab your something something Medium Armor as well as a shield (well technically you need both hands free to play a musical instrument) it’s Paladin time, master of auras!

Paladins get a Lay on Hands pool equal to 5 times their Paladin level for some more healing. You can touch a creature to give them any amount of health from your Lay on Hands, or use 5 hitpoints from your Lay on Hands pool to neutralize a poison or disease affecting them. You also get Divine Sense to locate any Celestial, Fiend, or Undead as long as they’re within 60 feet of you and not behind total cover. Don’t worry it gets a lot more exciting later.

LEVEL 7 - PALADIN 2

Second level Paladins can choose their Fighting Style and you’re still more of a mage than a warrior, so Blessed Warrior will give you two cantrips from the Cleric list that use your Charisma! Guidance is an obvious must for a support and Toll the Dead is a great option if you want to go full AP.

Should you have options for attacks to target enemies who have high Wisdom? Yeah probably: Sacred Flame might be a good choice.

Of course cantrips also imply more Spellcasting! You can prepare a number of spells equal to your Charisma modifier plus half your Paladin level (rounded down) which is currently a freaking lot of spells. Let’s just go down the list, shall we?

Bless is great to buff your team and make them harder, better, faster, and stronger.

Command is a mostly harmless Enchantment spell that will force your foes to do as you, well, command. I’d argue “dance” is a reasonable Command.

Protection from Evil and Good is never bad to have in your back pocket in case you’re fighting either Kayle or Fiddlesticks.

And Shield of Faith will let you boost your ADC’s survivability with Ardent Censer!

I know you can prepare more spells but there isn’t much I want from first level of Paladin. I am contractually obligated to mention that you can also turn your spell slots into a Divine Smite if you hit an enemy with a melee weapon, but you aren’t really going to be using weapons in this build. That’s right boys hop aboard the caster Paladin train!

LEVEL 8 - PALADIN 3

Third level Paladins get to choose their Sacred Oath and Oath of the Watchers may seem weird but it’s really good at defending your allies. That’s because you get two different Channel Divinity options: Abjure the Extraplanar works similarly to the Cleric’s Turn Undead feature except it affects Aberrations, Celestials, Elementals, Fey, and Fiends.

Watcher’s Will meanwhile lets you choose a number of creatures you can see within 30 feet of you, up to your Charisma modifier. For 1 minute, you and the chosen creatures have advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws. This means that in a party of 6 this ability can give your whole party advantage on all mental saves, which is huge for keeping everyone alive against nasty casters! See? Demacia can use your magic!

Speaking of magic you get Alarm and Detect Magic as Oath spells. (Might want to swap Detect Magic from your Bard list with Mass Healing Word ty Tasha’s.) You can also use Harness Divine Power to regain a spell slot equal to half your proficiency bonus a number of times per Long Rest. And you get Divine Health, because you don’t take a sick day to stop complaining about Seraphine.

LEVEL 9 - PALADIN 4

4th level Paladins get another Ability Score Improvement: cap off that Charisma for maximum AP scaling!

LEVEL 10 - PALADIN 5

5th level Paladins can finally prepare second level spells! As a Watchers Paladin you get access to Moonbeam as well as See Invisibility, both of which are very good for dealing with incoming gankers.

You can also prepare spells like Aid to boost your allies’ HP, Prayer of Healing (ty Tasha’s) for some out-of-combat healing, and Warding Bond for a Knight’s Vow.

Oh and you get an Extra Attack, which sure would matter if you were actually using weapons.

LEVEL 11 - PALADIN 6

6th level reasons get the main reason Sona’s a Paladin: Aura of Protection! All your saving throws are increased by an amount equal to your Charisma modifier, which is a full +5 currently! But what’s special about this ability is that it also applies to your allies within 10 feet of you, letting you give out auras a plenty to keep your allies safe!

You can also prepare another spell but again: not much I really want. So we’re going to be waiting a little while longer once again.

LEVEL 12 - PALADIN 7

7th level Watchers Paladins get Aura of the Sentinel, or as I like to call it: Song of Celerity. When you or any creature of your choice within 10 feet of you roll for initiative, they gain a bonus to initiative equal to your proficiency bonus. While this may make positioning a little difficult (everyone’s going to have to huddle around you) this ability guarantees that you can speed up all your important allies to make sure they get their powerful abilities off!

LEVEL 13 - PALADIN 8

8th level Paladins get another Ability Score Improvement or a Feat. You may have noticed your uneven Constitution score: grab good ol’ Resilient Constitution for a boost to your health and even more insurance on your Concentration checks. With your Paladin aura and proficiency you’d have a +12 total to your Constitution checks currently, meaning that if you take 24 damage or less you won’t even have to roll for Concentration!

LEVEL 14 - PALADIN 9

You are probably the only Paladin who cares about spells, so it’s nice that you get 3rd level spells now! Watchers Paladins get two very strong third level spells: Nondetection will help you deward and keep your allies safe from enemies that may try to sneak a peak at you, but Counterspell is the true best choice to stop danger from befalling your allies. What’s very good about Counterspell is that as a Bard you get to add Jack of All Trades to the skill check, meaning it’s far easier for you to deny an incomming spell than any other spellcaster! “Mages have enough problems without you.”

Of course you can prepare some more spells like Aura of Vitality for Aria of Perseverance, and Revivify for an ADC’s Guardian Angel. But having access to spells like Remove Curse, Dispel Magic, Crusader’s Mantle, and even Daylight on the Paladin spell list are all extremely useful to be able to prepare. Remember that you are doing yourself a disservice by not taking time to think about what the best spells to prepare would be for your current quest. "Every note is important."

LEVEL 15 - BARD 6

Now that we’ve got all our auras it’s time to go back to Bard for Mantle of Majesty! As a bonus action, you cast Command without expending a spell slot as you take on an appearance of unearthly beauty for 1 minute. During that minute you can cast Command as a bonus action on each of your turns without expending a spell slot. Additionally any creature charmed by you automatically fails its saving throw against the command you cast with this feature. You do have to concentrate on this feature (like a spell), and once you use it you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.

You can also learn another spell but there isn’t much I want from the third level of Bard, really. Oh and you get Countercharm which is awful and I hate it, but since you didn’t take a 10th level in Paladin I suppose you have to use it. Spend an action to give allies advantage on their saving throws against charms and fears, I guess.

LEVEL 16 - BARD 7

7th level Bard; 4th level spells. Freedom of Movement will let you help either yourself or an ally with Mikael’s Crucible, and Dimension Door is great to get into lane fast, or back to base fast!

LEVEL 17 - BARD 8

8th level Bards get another Ability Score Improvement, and if you don’t like the look of something something Medium Armor then the Eldritch Adept feat might be able to help. Take the Mask of Many Faces invocation to be able to cast Disguise Self at will to change your skins as you please.

Could you have taken this earlier? Absolutely. Are there better invocations? Yeah probably, but by level 17 you can make some of your own choices. Build your own Sona: this is merely a guide and you can make your own choices.

Speaking of own choices: take whichever spell you want at this level. There’s plenty of great ones for a 4th level Bard and I can’t recommend anything in particular to you. Every musician has their own style, and it’s up to you to find your own!

LEVEL 18 - BARD 9

9th level Bards get to pretend that increasing Song of Rest from a d6 to a d8 by total level 18 is helpful.

You do get access to 5th level spells like Mass Cure Wounds, which is like Mass Healing Word but better! "Harmoniously."

LEVEL 19 - BARD 10

10th level Bards get Expertise in two more skills: Perception is an obvious must to watch over your wards but beyond that? Honestly pick your poison with whatever skill you want since by level 19 you can make your own choices. (Though my personal choice would be Athletics to hopefully give some more safety against grapples.)

But of course the main boon of reaching level 10 in Bard is the Magical Secrets! ...I’m afraid I’m going to have to disappoint you again: there honestly aren’t any spells in particular I want as Magical Secrets. Sure I could recommend spells like Haste or whatever but are they really going to be that great by total level 20? To be honest even the spells on the Bard list like Animate Objects, Greater Restoration, Hold Monster, Rary's Telepathic Bond, Scrying, and Synaptic Static are very good (although I’d sooner replace some of your old spells with them.)

Again I know this is supposed to be a “guide” but most people won’t hit level 19 anyways, so I don’t think it’s that bad for me to recommend you take your own steps to make your own Sona. Hell, build some AP if you want! I know I would!

LEVEL 20 - BARD 11

Our final level is the 11th level of Bard and I’ll be honest: it’s just to add Otto's Irresistible Dance to your spell list. It can only affect one person but it’s still your ultimate by total level 20.

Oh and you were supposed to get a cantrip last level. Uhhhhh I dunno take Mending lol.

FINAL BUILD

PROS

The rhythm connects us all - You have dozens of spells to keep your team alive and active during a fight, not to mention that all your Paladin auras and abilities really help them give 110%. It’s worth mentioning that Gift of Alacrity combined with Aura of the Sentinel is a d8 + 6 to an Initiative roll, which will almost always guarantee that whoever you want to go first will be going first!

A true masterpiece should celebrate living - Despite your somewhat weird level split you maxed out the only stat which matters for you: Charisma. And woah holy shit turns out Paladins are really good with maxed out Charisma! +5 to all saves means even your lowest save is a +4, and the saves your proficient in vary between +13 for Dexterity and Constitution (both very common!) and a whopping +16 save on Charisma!

Curtains up; I'm ready - Jack of All Trades also does quite nicely to help your middling skills. Even though I dumped most of your mental skills you’re still proficient enough that you won’t be completely helpless when caught off guard. And when you’re in the zone with Persuasion or Performance you are easily the best girl around!

CONS

Don't make me get off stage - It was my intention to recreate Sona’s positional gameplay with this build but it does present some gameplay issues when trying to maximize your effectiveness. Where do you position yourself as a character who’s still primarily a squishy caster despite your good saving throws and AC? Can you give everyone in your party support, or are they too spread out to get value out of your 10 foot range auras?

Quiet, please! - You have a damn good concentration check, but what do you concentrate on? Not only do you have a ton of spells but they all scale very good with levels and you have spell slots that go far higher than your maximum level spell. It can be hard to choose what to do with those 7th and 8th level slots.

The world is cruel... Until that changes, I'll never stop playing - One of many “meta” problems with this build was my choice to focus almost entirely on support. Sure Toll the Dead is a great damaging cantrip but your only two damaging spells are Moonbeam and Dissonant Whispers. Again: you don’t have to follow my build point-for-point and while you’ll be flamed in League for building Sona full AP I don’t think your friends will mind if you take some damaging spells.

But if you can’t tell it was really hard for me to come up with those downsides. With the exception of the positional requirements a Bardadin is a very strong build and Sona is a very strong support. Boost your teammates with your own amazing power and make sure everyone’s alive and jamming! Your power may have been forgotten over the years but no one’s ever upset to have a great support at their side. And remember: Seraphine may be in K/DA but you’re in Pentakill, and you have your own label! No one can replace DJ Sona!

Everything you never thought to ask and never wanted to know about my Josépan playlist/history with and opinions of the ship.

Intro:

The journey of this playlist has been a long one, starting on Amazon Music and my old, janky and now defunct Ipad.

STRAP IN, CHILDREN AS I TAKE YOU BACK TO A MAGICAL TIME WHEN NEITHER LEGENDS OF THE THREE CABALLEROS; NOR THEIR CAMEO IN DUCKTALES HAD BEEN ANNOUNCED YET, MY BLOG ON TUMBLR DIDN’T EXIST (THOUGH I WAS LURKING) AND PANCHITO WAS STILL THE LEAST POPULAR CABALLERO, otherwise known as around late 2017.

A word on the origins of the playlist:

The playlist was not initially Ducktales focused because the two didn’t exist in Ducktales yet. I was rather unenthusiastic back in the day about this ship (oh how the times change) but I had stumbled across a song that didn’t fit them and Donald but fit just them very well and wanted to make an animatic of it. So, I cobbled together some songs I thought fit the vibe and made a playlist.

The history behind the story that inspired it:

I’ll spare you from starting at the very beginning. But, when “The Town Where Everyone was Nice” premiered I was already thoroughly and utterly obsessed with the cabs; I remember how beyond ecstatic I was for the episode. My hype for the Ducktales versions of José and Panchito continued far beyond what seems to have been normal for the average cabs fan. I found myself drawn to the ideas put forth by those versions of them. I don’t really remember what the tipping point was for me to break down and make my own college AU but eventually I did. It was affectionately dubbed “The TV Show That Will Never Happen AU.” José and Panchito were enemies to lovers or at least to friends. And it was around that time I began to go CRAZY with the headcanons as I got more active in the fandom. While my ideas for the Ducktales versions of them grew and grew, so too did the time between them appearing in “The Town Where Everyone was Nice” and their alleged next appearance in the show. When fans noticed the distinct lack of José and Panchito in the season two finale of Ducktales, Francisco Angones, @//suspenderofdisbelief on Tumblr answered these two separate asks that I might have engraved on tombstone one day:

I was GONE for the ship after that. I developed another AU for them based around their time in Baia trying to get people to fund their attempts to become famous musicians. Also, slowly falling in love... It was affectionately titled “The Fan-Comic that Will Never Happen” but not yet connected to my college AU. I don’t have much of a timeline for it after this point, but with that AU I really hit my stride for interpretations of the two characters and their dynamic. The version of them I hold dear in my heart and headcanons came to be. Then “Louie’s Eleven” came out and absolutely destroyed a lot of my headcanons (just kidding, just kidding). Since the new canon material didn’t really jive with a lot of the wholesomeness I had built up I was left with a lot of something else: angst. I LOVE angst, but the two’s bitterness and arguing...It was hard to accept at the time. Me and @cartoon-lizard on Tumblr, my IRL best friend, wound up writing a Josépan fic fueled on a bit of that angst and by her grace, a lot of my headcanons. I titled it “My Reverie is Being Haunted by That Ass.” In it Panchito makes an ass (rimshot noises) of himself by running off with a producer he met by chance during a visit in Duckburg to try to become famous. And doing so without so much as a second thought to the person he’s been living with/sort of dating for over a year. It took me a while but eventually I figured it out. These weren’t three separate AUs, these were three separate pieces of the same AU. And so my masterpiece never meant to be made came to be: “The Trilogy: College/Baia/Reverie.”

“The Trilogy” Itself:

The story will never be written for a variety of reasons, personal and practical. But if it ever were to be written it would be three separate fics, aka: College, Baia and Reverie.

College encapsulates their college years (duh).

To set the stage:

Panchito: A friendly, arrogant and easily excitable musician with big dreams, good grades and a whole lot of anxiety and insecurity. He has complicated feelings towards his identity as both trans and pan and how that might affect his dreams of becoming famous, but is overall bright eyed and innocent enough.

José: A lazy (depressed), charming, pessimistic, tbh kind of a douche and deep in the closet gay man. He tends to push forward a very “Manly man” persona to make up for his own deep seated internalized homophobia brought on by a shitty upbringing. He just got away from said shitty upbringing and doesn’t really have any hopes for his future...Maybe to travel a bit?

José and Panchito start as enemies, both fearing losing their one real friend, Donald, to the other. Despite this the three start a band and the two’s rivalry becomes far more friendly. They get particularly close during the trip down to Acapulco for spring break where the general feeling of being disconnected from life and reality leads to several rather romantic moments between the two...They almost become a thing several times but never quite do. However, they are very good friends by the end of college. The three stay in contact for a while after college but eventually lose touch…

Baia timeskips forward 13 years later (I know it's only 10 canonically, I always say 13 for reasons) to a conversation between Panchito and José on the Sunchaser at the end of “The Town Where Everyone Was Nice.”

Panchito: Life hasn’t been kind to Panchito...His need to be famous, to be something in order to be someone has led him to push a lot of people out of his life so he can better focus on “Work.” Or drive them out by constantly asking for their support, financial or otherwise. He has no friends and even his relationships with his loving and supportive family are strained. Currently, he’s working freelance as a performer at childrens’ birthday parties (in his eyes: a clown) and goes home to a sad, empty apartment every night to stare at a notebook full of half written songs and muster enough energy to eat cereal for dinner for the third time in a row. Needless to say, his optimism is wearing thin.

José: A lot of hard work on his part, some good therapy and mmm; drugs have put him in a pretty good place. He’s more or less got his life together now, is way less of a douche and is more of a realist than a pessimist. He’s also pretty much completely comfortable in his identity as a gay man. He’s been trying to explore romantic relationships, but unfortunately (likely due to the loveless marriage between his parents making him strive so hard to believe that love is real that he puts the unrealistic goal of true love above all else) feels incomplete without one and double unfortunately has a tendency to be drawn to toxicity and abusive situations. So other than a string of (short lived) bad relationships, he’s actually doing great!

Panchito has already asked Donald to drop everything and stay with him down in Baia to try to get funding for the band. Donald said no. José has a steady job, a decent apartment and a supportive friend group back home. He's also long since lost interest and hope in their college dreams of being famous...José says yes. The two have a bunch of wild and wacky shenanigans trying to get funding and both dance around their growing feelings for each other until it explodes and overwhelms them. They rush into a romantic relationship head first with no real ground for it to be built on and unrealistic expectations of what the other can give them. Despite all this, things seem quite happy...for a while…

“Don’t tell me you’re getting off on this, pervert”

Bakugo huffed softly, looking back at the camera where his comments were currently going insane over his current situation. He was bent over his bed with his skirt flipped up so the camera could clearly see the small pink butt plug resting prettily between his cheeks. He spread his cheeks more with his hands, giving a better view as he rolled his eyes, acting like his audience were the perverted ones when he was the one filming himself doing such lewd actions.

He had honestly never even used the toy or shown it on camera because…well it made him a bit nervous but it quickly became obvious to him that this user must have been the one to send it to him if he knew about it.

He always made sure to stretch himself before his streams so he wouldn’t have to go through the trouble of doing so with an audience but now he was starting to wonder if he shouldn’t have spent a little more time on it today… It was too late now though; he was already determined to prove that asshole that he could take the toy no issues.

He wondered for a moment how he should position himself. He just never thought someone so praised in the camming community would ever be watching him but now that he commented on his main account it was obvious…was he planning for this all along? Is that why he bought Bakugo that toy in the first place? He couldn’t help but smirk as he gave his outro before winking softly at the camera, unable to help himself as he gave one final message.

“And Kiri…You wouldn’t be able to handle me~”
