Yandere Imagine: Dark Web Yandere
TW: Implied non-con, kidnapping, tormenting, enslavement. WC: 601
Dark Web Yandere, who controls many websites that deal explicit content and items, from drugs, to humans, to technology, to every time of devious porn. Money rolls in from all parts of the world as his empire grows exponentially each day.
Dark Web Yandere, who becomes completely numb to the suffering of others. Unless it affects him personally, it's just business. The world fades to black and white, and his life philosophy turns from "I'm making money to live the life of my dreams" to "The weak must live to the whims of the Superior, like they did at the foundations of early societies."
Dark Web Yandere, who is notified of an intrusion in one of his website's coding. Whoever was trying to get in made it through several layers of firewalls, and was attempting to make a backdoor. The yandere is annoyed, but knows they won't do anymore damage by the time he finds them.
Dark Web Yandere, who boredly looks through your social media. Finding who you were was easy, as your VPN was citizen-grade. It was foolish of you to attempt to steal from him, a little nobody like you.
Dark Web Yandere, who stares at your picture and considers you to be beneath him. He begrudges, though, that you had physical assets that could make up for your transgressions against him. Afterall, the emptiness in his mansion was grating on his nerves, and he could use company at night.
Dark Web Yandere, who makes quick work of hiring a kidnapper. Within 24 hours, you're stolen from your home, tied down with a bag over your head, and shoved into a van. An hour of driving and 6 hours of flying later, you step foot into a foreign land.
Dark Web Yandere, who takes the bag off your head and finds you much prettier than he anticipated. The tears down your cheeks, the terror in your eyes, your attention 100% on him... It goes straight to his ego.
Dark Web Yandere, who immediately elevates your position from bed slave to maid. He takes sick joy in destroying things for you to clean, trying to reduce you to a sobbing mess for him to console. He uses everything in his disposal to make you feel as powerless as possible, to teach you your place beneath him.
Dark Web Yandere, who's obsession with your misery stretches into other faucets of your personality. He wants to see every emotion you have to offer: your joy, your discomfort, your relief, your confusion, your pleasure. He wants to be the cause of all of them.
Dark Web Yandere, who goes from watching you through his home cameras to trailing behind you step for step. His gaze never leaves you, and his unpredictable behavior keeps your spidey senses constantly alert. He watches as the weeks of paranoia wear you down, until there's dark circles beneath your eyes and a sluggishness to your movements.
Dark Web Yandere, who holds you down and kisses you when you're too tired to fight back. Who knows he's your superior in every way, but who also surrenders to the overpowering feelings you give him. You were made for him in Heaven, a literal gift from God himself, and he wanted to experience everything God had to give him.
Dark Web Yandere, who can cum from your attention alone. He crowds over you when your attention drops for a second, pinning you to whatever surface and leaving you shaking. He thinks about you every second of the day, and will do everything in his power to ensure you do the same.

[SUMMARY: Negan becomes tempted with his younger sisters bestfriend.]
Smut
“You are one hell of a fucking tease, you know that?”
It had been five years since you had last seen your bestfriend Trish, growing apart then finding your way back, you both had a lot to catch up on. For a few days now the two of you had been hanging out, filling each other in on life and what not. She was still living with her older brother like she always did. He was almost twenty years older than her and when their parents died when she was fifteen he took her under his wing. You didn’t remember much of her brother besides the fact that he rode his motorcycle, always had different women and sometimes got into trouble. He had a temper that you heard of, but you never really saw much of it. Negan did his best to not get this way around his sister, but the town knew how he was.
That night she invited you back to her place for pizza. The two of you laughing on the couch when you heard the door unlock. Trish continued her story but you couldn’t help but get distracted as her brother appeared from the door. He was more much rugged looking than you last remembered but still handsome, hints of gray in his hair, he closed the door behind him before you realized Trish was calling for you.
“Earth to Carmella” she snapped her fingers making you look back at her.
“I’m asking if you want another slice before my brother takes over this pie” she chuckled as he walked towards the two of you. He figured she was home hanging out with one of her friends as usual, he didn’t notice who you were.
“Negan, you remember Carmella? Don’t you?” He took a double take at you, a bit of a surprised expression on his face.
“Shit. Look at you” you smiled in response.
“Could you believe it’s been five years since we’ve seen her?” Trish continued as she got up to find the remote. She didn’t notice how her brothers eyes never left you.
“Five whole years huh” Negan muttered as his eyes wandered down to your bare legs crossed beneath your skirt. He quickly caught himself somehow forgetting you were staring right at him.
“Hi, Negan,” his eyes shooting right back up to yours.
“She might stay over a few days if that’s ok, we have some plans early tomorrow” Trish sat back beside you flipping open a magazine as Negan took a step back rubbing his hand over his lips. Shit, you had changed so much.
The way he was looking at you causing you a tingly feeling in the pit of your stomach. Never had he looked at you this way before but you knew this look, you definitely saw him look at other women this way growing up.
His lips slightly curving into half a smile as he winked at you.
“Hello?” Trish looked up catching his attention.
Negan cleared his throat looking over at his sister.
“Can she stay or what?”
“Stay here?” Shit, he didn’t think it was the best idea for you to be staying in the same house with him. Negan knew he was attracted to you and he knew how he was when he wanted a woman. He knew he had to keep his distance from you. There was only so much he would be able to hold back.
“No the Empire State Building, yes obviously here, Negan where else?” He looked at her with a raised brow.
“Watch that smart mouth-“
“You’re not the only one with a sarcastic mouth in this family big brother. So can she stay or what?”
“Sure,” Negan cleared his throat before walking out the living room.
“What the hells up with him?” Trish mumbled to herself as you watched him leave the room. Her eyes back in the book as you hid a smile with the way Negan had been looking at you.
The two of you watched a movie as you heard Negan upstairs on his phone. He cursed a lot, you figured he was talking to some girlfriend he must’ve had. He closed his bedroom door before Trish caught your attention.
“Carmella” you looked over at Trisha who seemed annoyed.
“Are you even watching the movie?”
“Of course I am” you insisted as you crossed your arms and faced the television.
After a bit Trish decided to shower before bed while you offered to clean up the kitchen. Negan walked in expecting to find his sister but instead found you tip toeing putting away things in the cabinet. He stood for a moment watching you struggle to reach high up. Each time you tip toed your ass poked out a bit beneath your skirt, the sight beginning to turn him on.
“Fuck me-“ he whispered just as you turned around and gasped.
“Oh Negan, I didn’t know you were there” you spoke innocently not having heard him. The counter in front of him blocking the view of his arousal. Had you not been distracted with what you were doing you would’ve noticed the way his eyes were glued on you.
“Do you think you can help me real quick?” You turned back to the cabinets.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, sweetheart” he pressed his lips together hoping you wouldn’t insist. He knew he wouldn’t be able to say no to you for long.
“What do you mean?” You laughed a bit confused.
“It’s fast I promise” he made his way behind you planning to quickly help you and leave, making sure he wasn’t too close behind.
“I just need help to put these back in that spot” you tip toed once again showing him where to place the bottles.
“Why the hell isn’t Trish helping you with this shit, she’s the one who made this mess” he mumbled to himself frustrated that he was some how in this position with you.
“Look, I’m sorry I won’t bother you again” you looked back at him confused by his attitude. Standing back down flat on your feet you accidentally stumbled a few steps back stopping with your ass against him.
“Oh-“ Your body froze feeling what felt like a boner against your ass. Your lips parted as you stood still.
“Shit” you heard him whisper, neither of you moving.
“Negan?” You whispered without turning back.
“I’m gonna need you to leave the room, sweetheart.” He knew if anyone was going to leave it would have to be you. If he moved an inch more it would only be towards you.
“Why don’t you?” You teased without looking back, apart of you wanting to see what he would do.
“Shit, just do as I fucking say.”
Of course, you didn’t.
“I saw the way you were looking at me before” you spoke softly.
“Carm-“ you purposely pushed yourself back against him making his dick press harder against you.
“What the fuck are you doing?” He groaned as you felt him place one hand on your hip without realizing his reaction. He spoke in frustration but his body acted another way.
“It doesn’t feel like you have a problem with it” You bent over a little more looking back at him. A sneaky smirk on your face you watched as he looked down at your ass mesmerized. Negan looked like he didn’t know what the hell to do with himself. He was breathing heavy, you could tell he was fighting himself from lifting up your skirt.
“Go ahead, I know you’ve been wanting to see..”
“You are one hell of a fucking tease, you know that?”
“Is it teasing?” A hint of sarcasm in your voice.
“Shit, you know I can’t” he spoke without taking his eyes off your ass.
“What are you afraid of your sister?” Your question making him look up directly at you.
“Fuck no”
“So then?” you reached behind pulling up your skirt when he suddenly grabbed hold of your wrist.
“Don’t start what you can’t finish”
“And who said I couldn’t?” You pulled your arm back before slowly pulling up your skirt showing the black thong you wore.
“Oh shit…” he whispered as he slowly pulled your ass against him. He almost felt as if he was about to burst right in his pants. Turning to him you pulled him close, his eyes looking down at you as if he was hypnotized.
“What the fuck” he panted just before you placed your lips on his. Without questioning it he pulled you close, his hand brushing through your hair, his tongue swirling with yours you quickly reached down and unzipped his pants. His dick hard throbbing in your hand, his breath close against your lips.
“Do you have a condom” you whispered as you stroked him making his eyes close, each touch just making it harder for him to hold back.
“Damn you, Carmella” his hand sliding up the back of your thigh. He began kissing your neck making you feel weak in the knees.
“Well…do you?” You rolled your eyes back as he lifted up your leg pushing your underwear to the side.
“I’ll pull out…I promise” he kissed you as you balanced yourself on one foot, tip toeing enough to let him slip right in. A satisfying groan escaping his lips as he felt himself inside you.
“God damn you-fuck-“ he choked out, his hands holding you tight.
“Go ahead, fuck me” you whisperered. He grabbed you harder wrapping your leg around his waist.
“What’s this fucking mouth you suddenly got on you?” He thrusted hard making you stumble back against the counter. A whimper making him chuckle.
“What’s the matter, sweetheart? Is this too much for you?” You moaned as he rocked his hips against you. Looking over his shoulder towards the door, you made sure his sister hadn’t come down until he roughly grabbed your face turning it back to him.
“What are you afraid?” He teased distracting you from any concern as a shot of pleasure ran through you. Your eyes rolling back
“Carmella, where are you?” Trish suddenly called for you making you gasp.
“I’m-I’m coming!” You called out to her making Negan grin.
“You sure are” he groaned running his hand through your hair, tugging it enough to pull your head back.
“Shit Negan-“ you panted as he tugged harder.
“You know what, I’ll be down there in a sec, wait for me” Trish responded.
“We have to stop” you whispered in a panic as he squeezed his eyes shut.
“Fuck”
“Negan!” You whispered hitting him on the arm as he thrusted once more before holding himself still. You realized he came.
“Did you just-“ Trish making her way down the stairs cut you off. Negan quickly pulled out turning away to zip up his pants as you quickly fixed your skirt. Turning away you looked down at the sink in panic turning on the faucet pretending to wash something.
“Thanks for cleaning up I’ll finish, you can go shower if you want” Trish came in the kitchen stopping to look at her brother who looked a mess.
“Why are you so sweaty?” He rubbed his face trying to catch his breath.
“Why’d you leave such a fucking mess” he retorted as he quickly walked out the kitchen.
“Why is he so damn moody today?” Trish whispered.
“Who knows” you muttered still a bit lost with what had just happened discreetly trying to catch your breath.
“Why don’t you go shower, I’ll finish up here”
Without saying a word you quickly turned away and made your way up the stairs to see Negan standing in the hall as if he was waiting for you. He quickly grabbed your arm pulling you toward him as he checked behind you to make sure his sister stayed down stairs.
“I cannot believe you fucking did that”
“Shh” he hushed you still looking down the stairs.
“No, I won’t shh. I didn’t think you were gonna do that-“ he suddenly yanked you into the bathroom cornering you against the wall in the dark.
“Well I didn’t think we were gonna fuck” he snapped back at you in a whisper leaving you silent. The tension still running high between the two of you.
“You promised” The way he was staring down at you, you could’ve sworn he was distracted all over again. He knew he promised, he swore he didn’t mean to do it on purpose but he had no idea the damn hold you were gonna have on him. Just thinking about it was turning him on all over again.
“Negan!” You slammed your hand on his chest.
“Alright!” He whispered back taking a step closer.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have done that but you made it a little fucking hard for me to pull out, sweetheart-“
“Oh did I?” You crossed your arms with a raised brow.
“Oh fucking yes. That pussy of yours is-“
“Carmella-“ Trish suddenly called from downstairs cutting him off.
“You left your phone down here someone’s calling”
“Look I didn’t do it on purpose alright” he whispered quickly before hearing his sister come up the stairs.
“Just go!” You shoved him out quickly closing the door and turning on the shower.
Trish came in leaving your phone on the sink as you stood in the shower. Staring at the wall you still couldn’t believe what you had just let happen. Never in a million years did you ever think you would sleep with Negan. What stressed you out more was wondering how on earth you were suppose to stay in Trishs home now. There was no way you could let this happen again.

Writing a fic where Jango wasn’t a willing progenitor because his family is still alive on Mandalore so Palpy did some fucked up shit to his brain and now the clones exist but one day while visiting home Jaster (who I love writing as force sensitive af) is all ‘my child has something weird in his noggin I’m gonna unravel it’ and now they know who the Sith Lord is and Jango is all ‘well. Now that that’s outta my brain-‘ and wanders off to tell the alphas that they can leave with their vod’e as soon as the Sith Lord is killed and the alphas being paranoid as they are are like ‘okay what do we give you in turn???’ ‘What do you mean this is a freebie’ ‘nothing is free prime, what do you want’ ‘lmao idk just babysit the Jedi they seem kinda stupid a little’ and the clones take that to mean ‘they are stupid and get themselves killed keep them safe’ and Jango doesn’t correct them cause this is hilarious and allows them to dig into the Jedi histories as much as they want only for them to come back all ‘ahh, yes, we see the senate has them in a chokehold and barely better than slaves living in a Diaspora being forced to their Will and their numbers have been steadily declining over the past thousand years. We see. They need help’ and Jango is all ‘…they fucking what???’ Only for the clones to already be fucked off to claim the Jedi as part of their people and no they will not be leaving sure you can try and run but we are here to help you sorta thing and Anakin is very eager for this, they saved all the slaves on Tatooine and saved his mom and stopped him from getting married cause if he gets married without Obi walking him down the aisle his master WILL cry about it and Plo and Shaak are repeating the gai bal manda to anyone they come across and it’s really very annoying and Mace shoved Kenobi at the sternest clones he could find saying ‘this one bites, he’s feral; tame him and win the prize’ and tbh they don’t know what the prize is but that sounds like fun and Obi is very annoyed at all times except when they pull him into their sleepy piles because that’s nice and yea he likes these dudes, they did not tame him tho he still bites he’s still feral at least they tried.
Anyways. Alpha 17 and Cody are the most annoying jerks ever who won’t let him run off into danger without them and Miss Shmi is awesome and disgusted by her son eating live bugs too so we no longer know where Ani gets it from that’s a shame and Mace is grounding anyone who adopts a clone or gets adopted by clones everyone is grounded. The Mandalorian empire is sorta peeking in like ‘wow. Are the Jedi okay??? They look a little annoyed??? But I haven’t heard of any of them getting murdered this week so probably???’ And it’s kinda hilariously adorable. The Mandos didn’t know they needed to worry about the Jedi and they’re super pissed at the Sith for hurting their prince’s brain and so yeah let’s join the clones they look like they’re having fun in the temple?????

Title: Is It a Crime Part 2
Pairings: Todoroki Shoto x Reader
WARNINGS: Yandere themes, light swearing
Summary: Shoto isn’t fond of the quirk marriage his dad has arranged. At least, he didn’t think so at first.
Part 1: here
“Is it a crime
That I still want you?
And I want you to want me too
My love is wider, wider than Victoria Lake
My love is taller, taller than the Empire State
It dives, it jumps, and it ripples like the deepest ocean
I can't give you more than that, surely, you want me back”
-from “Is It a Crime” by Sade
You’d never seen Shoto so desperate.
The red-and-white haired man was near tears when he arrived at your door and, in wordless shock, you let him in. The typically emotionless male had never shown this much emotion to you and it made you feel a little unnerved.
“I made a mistake,” Shoto said, “Please, sign the wedding contract again. We can get married and… be happy together.”
You only miss people when they’re gone. That saying rang true here more than ever. You had left his sorry self behind and he must have regretted driving you away.
But that didn’t take back what you’d heard from him and how you’d been treated. It didn’t take back the feelings of disappointment and humiliation, the constant wishing that things would be different and the depression that followed when you realized things would never change.
Every day in that mansion had been awful, pointless, and heart-breaking. As soon as you had gotten home, you were sure you were in the right place.
You never thought you’d see Todoroki Shoto ever again.
Who’s to say that, once you went back, everything would be fine? What if everything went back to the way it was? What if he was only asking because you were a live-in maid and chef to him, and he just missed that?
Either way, the answer was clear.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t do that,” you said softly, “I don’t want to marry you.”
Shoto flinched like he’d been shot. His eyes went wide for a moment before narrowing in anger.
“You’re going to sign the contract,” He reiterated.
“No, I’m not. I’m not going back to that life, Shoto. I was miserable in that mansion and I’m not going to willingly walk back into it.”
Shoto stopped for a second, then spat, “Who said anything about ‘willingly’?”
Your expression turned stormy and you spun around, ready to walk away from him. He was a lost cause- a child throwing a tantrum. No way were you going to stick around and humor him.
Suddenly, a wall of ice appeared in your path. Shocked, you turned around to find Shoto with his right arm out as though he was pushing something invisible.
Fury shot through you like a white-hot knife. Reaching your own hand out, you pressed it against the smooth ice and focused your energy into it.
The giant ice wall shattered into millions of tiny pieces in an instant. You felt a rush of grim victoriousness when you saw Shoto’s wide-eyed expression. He had never bothered to ask what your quirk was, and you had never bothered to tell him.
“If you don’t mind,” you said hotly, “I’ll be leaving now.”
Shoto responded with a low growl and an air push from his left hand. Now, a wall of fire blocked your path.
“What the hell, Shoto?” you screamed, “You’re going to burn my house down!”
“I don’t care,” came the cold response. Shoto’s heterochromatic glare bored into you and you felt tears well up in your eyes. This was your childhood home! Your parents lived here! You lived here!
You ran to the kitchen and searched for a bowl big enough to fill with water. You had to put out the fire and fast, before it got out of control and burned this place to the ground. But as soon as you had surfaced, holding a mixing bowl victoriously, Shoto made a wall of fire that cut you off from the sink.
You fled the house, tears running down your face as you abandoned the place you grew up. There was nothing you could do now except run away from Shoto.
But there was no escape. Every way you turned, you were met with fire, until the only way to run was to the red-and-white haired man. Tearfully, you trudged back to him, disappointment weighing heavily on your shoulders.
“You still can’t force me to sign that document,” you said sharply.
“We’ll see about that, (Y/n). We’ll see.”

Rebel With A Cause
Echo x Gen! Reader
Warnings: None. Fluff and a kiss. A little bit of angst in relation to wartime and heartfelt goodbyes.
582 words
Notes: I decided to write a series of "goodbye" ficlets where the reader takes / removes something from each of CF99 as they part ways. I plan to do the others. I wrote Crosshair some time ago.
---
The Rebellion was in its infancy, yet you were amongst those placing themselves on the front lines, determined to make a difference in a galaxy that otherwise seemed uncaring and oblivious. Your native home had been overrun by the Empire and all its lackeys, leaving you to find a greater purpose, one shared with many others; it was something to be proud of, and you had never once looked back.
Neither had this soldier, a clone who had been dealt a rough hand in life, parts of him not man, but mechanical, yet this in no way put a damper on your feelings.
As in times of war, his was another hasty exit, leaving your heart aching and your mouth dry as he strode with purpose, meaning to board the ship that would carry him away.
“Echo!” you called out, desperation coating that single utterance of his name; your legs felt like jelly, even as you forced them to propel you forward. The distance was short, finding yourself to be in the presence of your lover before he could even turn around.
You stood before him and swallowed back your spit, butterflies having taken flight in your belly. Still, you would not allow him to leave without saying farewell; there was always the real possibility he would never return to you, or you to him.
“Officer,” he started, one of his brothers watching from aloft. Your gaze darted upward, and he drifted inside the cover of his ship; you were thankful Rex understood you wanted this time alone.
“Don’t leave without saying goodbye,” you pleaded, unable to stop the tears that were beginning to well in your eyes. That stoic face softened, brows knitting in concern. Echo reached out to you with his scomp, then hastily lowered his arm.
“I’m…” The clone trailed off, unsure of what to say, or how it might be received. You smiled at him, finally daring to take up the one hand left to him.
Carefully, deliberately, you removed his glove. He watched you intently, deep brown eyes rising to meet your face. It felt as if time stood still, the thrum and hum of the rebel encampment behind you all but dying on the breeze; it was welcomed wholeheartedly as it cooled and refreshed your balmy skin.
Gently, you lifted his wrist, setting his hand against the curve of your cheek. This allowed Echo to feel your sorrow as it trickled from you in discrete drops, your lips brushing the inside of his palm as you whispered your one and only wish: “Be careful.”
Echo drew you in, fingers curling behind your ear as his thumb swiped away your tears. His lips met yours, kissing you fervently, and as if his life depended on it.
Words no longer felt necessary, his sentiments expressed through the impassioned swirl of his tongue. You loosed a whimper, Echo pulling back to study the intricacies of your face, those things that made you, you.
“I will,” he affirmed, temporarily placating you. He took up the glove offered shyly back to him, stowing it away, then turned on his heel to board the ramp, one final glance cast in your direction.
This alone would keep you hooked, desiring nothing more than for this blasted war to end, a life spent by his side something that may have already crossed your mind.

This whole part is just King going, "My favorite color is dark, like my soul." also, this gif is so hot omfg I can't with him, I have a smut idea for him, and if I do, somehow wrap my head around it, I'll post it here and on ao3.
Yandere!King The Wildfire x reader Pt2.
Tumblr media
It was a hasty decision, done in reaction he is unsure what to call, hardy he could handle himself when in your vicinity, it was a feeling of something intruding someplace it had no business being.
Similar to you in this situation.
His room was devoid of human touch, obviously because he barely used it, postponing his sleep until the flames on his back would collapse in on themselves, and he felt the consequences every time. It complemented his suit and the general aura he tries to surround himself with when dealing with Kaidou's henchmen, dark and containing no distractions. One specially made bed with dark covers, straightened against the wooden walls, on the other side was a wardrobe that seemed giant to a normal-sized human; unlike others, it was decorated and carefully carved, leaves, waves, ships, eyes, and unseen mysterious symbols were embedded into the burnt wood.
``It's an interesting texture.`` He remembers thinking, though he can no longer put his finger on how he got it in the first place.
And yet, in the grim surroundings, there was a light his flames could never compare to; warmth, no matter how hard he tries, will never radiate from him. It was similar to that dark house where he first laid his eyes upon you. You who have not changed nor moved on from that moment, you who trembles and shakes, cry and call out for help, insult him, and corner yourself in a place where you feel defended.
He has been in your shoes before, a long time ago, he can't be sure.
Perhaps the understanding is the cause of his heavy heart, taken away from home in such a way... He can feel his throat close up as your hunched figure shines in his view. Grime stuck itself onto your limbs, knees, and hands decorated with splinters of all sizes, hair matted and filthy from ash and smoke, and its smell follows him in his showers as he allows himself to let free of his suit. It's so recognizable.
And if his heart clenched everytime he saw you in this horrible position, nobody had to know. Not even him, it was a can of worms King won't dare to touch.
He remembers bits of information about his race, long lost to time and humanity, the whispers that came in the form of dreams speckled across his mind and reflections; the delusions and validity are mixed within his remembrances, the real and fake are smelting into and out of each other, his past is forgotten even by him, the lineage of mighty warriors feared by all is smeared across the walls with mud and blood mixed with heartfelt feelings.
In a memory long before the laboratory, his tiny ears picked up information, a word that defines and tames a feeling of awe he is experiencing—a SoulMate.
Lost words from his Ma that he was too young to understand finally make sense, a connection of minds, unconditional love, and a total understanding of each other. It's about being oneself and knowing others, a SoulMate is following and understanding One's thoughts, but They're right there with the One, side by side. Completing the soul and tying the Lunarian instincts of animals into a pretty bowtie. A Soul and a Mate.
Love at first sight doesn't exist because even if King has not experienced it before, he is not fooled by others' thinking, Love dependent on sight is lust.
But he didn't see you first, did he? He felt you.
Kaidou is not obligated to put up with a civilian within his chambers, under his roof, where the empire buzzes with insignificant life, but it has been hours after they departed from your home island, now a kingdom of ash and debris, a few hours he has spent watching you with motionless crimson eyes.
The monster gets up from the throne, the squicking of leather alerting you of his movement, forcing you to turn towards him; the last time he made any move was when he sat down on the chair you can't quite make out in the dim moonlighting, your quivers, and sniffles fade out as he gets further away from you, his broad back is turned.
It's time he explained himself.
The cold yet quiet air is disturbed when he lights up the flames on his back, coloring this room in warm shades.
Your swollen eyes and snot-filled nose could only gasp for air as he slowly turned his face back to you.
``I'll come back.`` he slams the heavy door shut.
The smell of smoke lingers in the air, the disgusting dirt of your suffering sticks onto your skin, seeps through the crack, and marks the invisible scars into your psyche.
You wished, for the first time, that a promise would be broken.
``tsk...`` the angry and tear-stained eyes turn away from the door.
Left unchecked, fear turns into irritation, irritation into anger.
Balled fists shake, out of fear, out of anger.

Skywalkers apart au! It's so precious that Anakin gets to be a dad, a rebellion general Dad but he gets to be there for at least one of them and Padme survives and gets to be a mom and maybe someday they get to meet and it's so good.
Also the concept of General Skywalker of the Rebellion feels like it has so much potential cause he was such a big figure in the Clone Wars, he was the Hero, the General, he could probably get the various splinter rebel cells (they were very divided in the early Rebellion) to follow him by sheer reputation and charisma. Imagine Anakin being at Hoth, like the attack is going along the usual Imperial imminent victory and suddenly an AT-AT has been thrown clear across the landscape and an announcement sounds out "General Skywalker has entered the field" cue Rebel Counterattack due to morale boost and Imperial Panic.
What happened to the 501st here? Did he go to the Venator's crash site where Ahsoka was during Order 66 what did he think when he saw all the dead folks?
Fun thought, Starkiller being the apprentice in this AU, means that Sidious has probably been comparing him to Anakin (in part because he's bitter he didn't fall, in other part cause it's great for fueling the darkside) for years so the first time they face off he's gonna be full of spiteful hatred (all going according to plan) before Starkiller gets styled on by the Skywalker, cause Anakin isn't crippled by the suit and that means he's still massively powerful in the force and skilled in the blade (Vader was too, but less than a whole Anakin), I could see Anakin pulling a Lightside version of the Rogue One Hallway scene against Stormtroopers (or even inquisitors).
Rebel General Anakin Skywalker would be an Imperial Boogeyman.
Leia would probably appreciate it for a while but also she'd get a bit annoyed about her dad's reputation and "Legend" and the fact that she's probably got that entire thing to measure up to, making her more reckless or foolhardy. That's a big shadow to live under.
Padme on the other hand is probably in a very different situation reputation wise, she was the senator for the new Emperor's home planet, she's the old queen of naboo from the Trade Federation attack, she's a founding member of one of the oldest discrete rebellion cells but that still leaves some stigma. She's probably so very worried about Imperial surveilance on her or Luke or the rest of her family, and it doesn't help that the Inquistorious has probably been sniffing around for a while.
ok this is a veeeeery long ask so i'm gonna have a veeeery long answer which is gonna go under this readmore:
YES!! yes absolutely! tbh i decided a while back he never gets an official promotion to general, everyone just calls him General Skywalker for so long that it sticks loll. BUT YEAH I mean working with a Jedi is rare and awe-inspiring enough for any rebellion cell but working with the hero with no fear??? half the rebels are wondering if they can interrupt this mission to ask for his autograph
its extra funny bc for the first few years of the empire he's lowkey depressed and like agh i failed the order republic AND my family i'm a terrible horrible no good jedi who nearly turned to the dark side and while he's having this spiral there's some rebel standing next to him pointing and pogging
and yeah he's SO useful in big battles like that!! he's half a legend, half a ghost story, given most ppl think he died in the Purge but here he is, enacting justice on the empire!! tho he does struggle on quieter missions (which happen a lot more at first bc gotta hide from the empire) that you cant just blaze into. its a difficult shift to go from clone wars general skywalker to rebel general skywalker
yeah 501st same as canon ): but OHHH MY GOD yes thats SUCH A PERFECT IDEA, Anakin going with Rex and Ahsoka to the site and mourning them all (and probably going into another depression spiral lbr)
youre so right lollll obvs leia loves the one up she has in an argument of "well my dad's general skywalker, beat that" but as u say she absolutely wants to live up to that (+ is a very independent/stubborn person and would like Leia Skywalker, not just "General Skywalker's daughter" lol)
AND YEAH ABSOLUTELY Padmé and Anakin's roles in this au are both so interesting (is that egotistical to say) bc they're these upside down versions of their clone wars roles, both very loud people forced to quieten down and be Discreet about how they go abt helping ppl. Padmé is really struggling hiding so much (luke's force sensitivity, her rebel activities, all relations to anakin) and trying to protect Luke while helping the Rebellion WHILE trying not to seem suspicious. a lot on her plate -- only made worse by palpatine keeping a close-ish eye on her, and she can't tell why (is it bc of luke? the rebellion? anakin? or is it just his old favouritism or patriotism being VERY inconvenient??)
on the inquisitors, obvs you don't see a lot of them on coruscant -- but padmé's SO scared abt ppl (MAINLY SIDIOUS WHO, YA KNOW, TRIED TO TURN LUKE'S DAD SITH) finding out abt him and she hates that she's making him repress this part of himself but what choice does she have???

Listen there so much depth to Philza character when it comes to relationships. That it bleeds over into the family dynamic that the Skull and Flowers family has going on. Im so normal about them yall can fill my inbox with questions about it but-
Theres a theme of being left behind or left alone for a long time that connect Skulls and Flower family. This leads into how Forever does not grasp the familiar nature of Philza. Plus I find it so interesting that Forever has pursued Philza even though Philza has Missa. Before I go into the theme of being alone and how that reflects in the relationships Philza has I wanted to touch on something else.
Firstly I noticed that in Philzas relationship he is not as grandiose in his show of affection. He dyes his backpack black and puts a skull on it for Missa. But never voices that he may miss him, he simply takes it day by day. He does the same for Wilbur, Tallulah and Chayanne. He takes endless photos of the kids and puts them in photos books. Philza way of loving and showing he cares is one that is super gentle and very light. This is also why inherently Forever and Philzs would never work. Forever is someone who is loud about his loves and wants. It ultimately puts Philza off, and would cause problems down the line to which Forever would question if Philza even liked him at all. Coupled with the whole Philza look like his ex problem.
Forever fundamentally does not understand Philza nor who he is.
I realized this when Tallulah asked Philza "why does everyone I care about disappear?" which is a horrible question to ask the man who is always left alone. Philza comes from worlds of God and Goddess that he never gets to see. In the sea of endless life it solely himself and the crows. (His 5 yeah world.)
When he traveled with the Blood God. That was truly a time when he was not alone, fighting and warring taking over a whole continent. But when they became part of the Arctic empire or more like when they moved out to the Artic to be far away from government. Philza again was left alone in the cold snowy mountains in silence. Only on the whim that Techno would wake up from hibernations. Then one day Philza was left alone for good and he left those snowy mountains back to the world of Gods.
Then he enters qsmp, he paired off and he has Missa and He has another child. An his Son had a kid and this is the most Philza world had been filled with people. But it doesn't take long for that to fall away. Missa leaves with no confirmation on when he'll be back.
He marries the Goddess of Death and he never gets to see her but she is with him always.
His first Son appears but soon leaves for his band leaving Philza with his daughter. Wilbur is gone for so long. That it now seems as though Tallulah is Philza kid. An now Philza has a daughter and 2 sons. I don't even think Forever knows that Wilbur is Philza kid.
Philza is fundamentally a man left alone for so long that the loneliness and and silence is something he is so deeply connected with an understands. That it would break the spirit of any other person. That he is always waiting and will always wait forever.
Forever comes in with this light hearted air and it's refreshing. But the callous skin that has grown over Philza is so tough that Forever could not even make a dent. Because Philza devotions to the people he waits for is a endless. He waits for Goddess of Death, He waits for his son (wilbur), He waits for Missa. Forever says he loves him but he does not know him. An Philza does not wait for people for them not to see him. An I think that is what we were getting from Philza during the wedding. Your proposing to a man that you do not know the of life not the blood, sweat and tears.
But the waiting and loneliness doesn't just end with Philza. It is like baked into family core. Wilbur is alone and waited for his father when ever Philza disappeared. Chayanne wait for Missa to come home. Tallulah is becoming more like Philza in the way people leave her. But it's that type of trait that i don't think Forever could honestly deal with it. That could lead to a great resentment from a place of obsession. I should note that I don't think philza feels that loneliness anymore. I think those are so deeply rooted in him. That it's normal to be alone that he probably feels peace being alone. But I'm sure he was like Tallulah before but with no one to comfort him.
But that is the family Forever is trying to be apart of that he does not see it. He does not see beyond the looks. Even if there are an inkling of truth behind those words he says.

synopsis . you thought coming face-to-face with prince jake would be the end of you, but sadly, getting dubbed by him seemed to be the least of your worries. note. this was originally a secret santa fic with a different idol, so sorry if there are name mistakes! this is also a repost from my old account if it seems familiar. i also apparently wrote this at 4am so please excuse the mess that this is. tagging . @stealanity @haerinz

Far, far away, past the weeping willows of the dark forests and the scorching sands of the sunburnt deserts, there laid a small vine opening, covered with twigs and vines, embedded in secrecy. Only those who seek this door could enter, and only those who dared to venture could truly experience the treasure they were meant to seek for.
Here beyond this secret entrance lay the land of Senkō, a land filled with prosperity and enchantment alike. Home to one of the world’s most charming cities, this empire carried an aura of purity that wrapped around and around and encased you tight, never wanting to let go.
And in the center of it lay a prince to match, feasting on the fresh pears from the palace garden and radiating a smile that could rival that of the blazing ball of fire that shone upon him.
“Master Jake! You shouldn’t be eating those pears; those are for the royal family’s bouquet at the end of the month!”
Jake leaned against the tree, eyeing the half-eaten pear in his hands, before glancing at the short maid who had come to warn him against his irresponsible actions.
And then he grinned.
He watched the maid’s cheeks turn bright red, resembling the rubicund apples in the orchard nearby. Nations far and beyond have acknowledged Prince Jake’s dazzling smile and incredibly handsome aura, and he was well aware of it, using it to his advantage to get out of trouble. Being flattering was simply a pastime for him.
“Are you sure I can’t have a few more pears? I’m sure I can… let you have a bite of this one if you wish.”
The maid turned profusely beet red as if she couldn’t have possibly turned into more of a tomato, and with a quick squeal, she scampered back into the castle, leaving behind a laughing Jake and a half-eaten pear.
“Didn’t know you were the designated castle flirt,” a familiar voice remarked, causing Jake’s eyes to shift to the new subject.
“You seem quite observant, Commander Sunghoon. I wonder if you would like a bite too?”
Jake dangled the pear in front of Sunghoon, commander of the royal army and his best friend, only to be met with mock disgust and a silent scoff.
“Quite humorous aren’t you, Prince Jake? Anyhow, I’ve come to ask for your presence at the induction ceremony for our recruits. Can’t have the nation’s brightest soldiers be dulled by the absence of the ever so coquettish prince, can we?”
Jake, biting the last part of the almost-finished pear, met Sunghoon’s glance with a smile. “Well, what are we waiting for? Lead the way.”
Tumblr media
You were quite nervous.
Throughout all the rigorous training you’ve endured for the past two years, you’ve never felt so anxious. Wielding a blade and charging headfirst were tasks that came most naturally to you, but social integration and public speaking were far from your line of expertise. A million uncertainties were running through your mind at the very prospect of failure in being dubbed a soldier, and you hoped you wouldn’t end up being the nation’s royal laughingstock.
What if you tripped on stage? What if you accepted the wrong award? What if you—
“Nervous?” you heard a voice murmur next to you, filled with light amusement and tender undertones.
“In your dreams Ni-ki,” you whispered back, not willing to show weakness, although you supposed your best friend knew you better than you knew yourself.
He let out a soft chuckle, well knowing of your dishonesties, and patted your uniform-covered shoulder in a gesture for comfort.
“You’ll be fine Y/N. Besides, everyone tends to get a little weak-hearted while standing next to Prince Jake. If anything goes wrong you can just blame it on him!”
It’s not that simple, you wanted to retort, but you didn’t have the heart to diminish Nishimura’s extra-cheerful attitude today. So, you just dipped your head in respect as a mere thanks, hoping your nerves would settle down and let you breathe.
“Oh, that’s my name! See you on stage Y/N!”
You watched as Ni-ki pranced onto the carpet-covered stage, a smile flitting across your face in pure affection. Eons ago, you both had vowed to become the finest soldiers of the royal guard and here you were today, fulfilling your dreams side by side.
You found your eyes shifting from the now kneeling Nishimura to the man upright in front of him, slender hands repositioning a blade from Ni-ki’s left shoulder to his right, a movement proclaiming your best friend’s newfound royal status.
Prince Jake. The man of everyone’s dreams and desires alike. You wished you weren’t prone to his charms, but alas, everyone has their weaknesses. Jake Sim’s smile just happened to be yours.
Having been lost in your contemplations, you hadn’t realized time was nearing your turn until your wandering eyes noticed Ni-ki making his way off the stage.
“And now, let us welcome the highest-ranking recruit of this division, Y/N!”
It felt like a blur walking onto the platform, clad in combat boots and your royal uniform. Despite the loud clapping and the shrill cheering from your comrades, your eyes were trained on the man adorned in regal blue, a man you supposed you’d need to grow accustomed to.
Your breath hitched as he stepped forward to perform your accolade, and you mentally cursed yourself for having the qualities of a fangirl at this very moment. Ni-ki was right; Prince Jake had the vexatious ability to take anyone’s breath away (not that you were complaining).
“I don’t suppose you need this dubbing,” you heard, the faintest whisper of a melody so familiar yet so unique, “for your skills are far more worthy of recognition than my blade.”
Cheeks burning, you turned akin to a beetroot as you bowed your head in respect, heart thumping at the mere delight of such a wonderful man praising yours truly.
“We mustn’t skip formalities, your royal highness,” you whispered back, kneeling on one leg before him, “because even one as skilled as me would enjoy the honor of your unsheathed steel on my shoulders.”
You sensed the lightest grin pass across his face as he performed the rite of passing, and as he helped you stand back up to shake his calloused palm, he leaned in to make the faintest promise.
“One day, I hope I can have the opportunity to duel with you, the ever-so-skilled Y/N, in a match of fencing. After all, you aren’t quite the only one to receive such honor, hmm?”
Tumblr media
True to his word, Jake arranged a duel with you. Rather than just wanting to see your form in action, the fight was arranged for a more subtle aim: Jake’s desire to get to know you. Surprisingly, or rather, unsurprisingly, he admitted that he still remembered every detail of your first encounter. He knew it seemed a little obsessive, but then again, all the male characters in books have been victims of the love-at-first-sight syndrome.
Why exactly he found you so fascinating? He didn’t quite have the answer to that himself. Maybe it was the way your confidence was nowhere to be seen despite your highest-ranking title, or the fact that you were still able to utter out cautions about formalities despite looking like you were to go faint any moment. He couldn’t deny that he found you a little cute (just a little). He’d never had a knight fancy him, especially a high-ranking one, but he wasn’t one to carp. The thought of your duality merely aroused his attention, which is why he was so keen on carrying out this match.
Although, Jake’s plans didn’t exactly schedule themselves as he wanted, because when he arrived at the grass training grounds, uniform poised and blade in tow, he was met with the faces of the rest of your peers, eager eyes ready for action.
“Sunghoon, what is the meaning of this?”
“My apologies Jake, for how would the elders take it if the royal prince wanted an individual match with a recruit?”
“Oh, you know I meant no harm—”
“Obviously, however, other people simply don’t have the pleasure of knowing your royal highness as well as I do. I kindly ask you to adjust to the current circumstances and carry this forward as a teaching lesson, rather than a chance to fancy yourself with a new lover.”
Jake paled at Sunghoon’s words, turning to face him with an impeccable glare.
“Don’t be so surprised Jake; I too am capable of noticing wandering eyes. Whether your thoughts start as mere interest or mad infatuation, please be cautious of your actions. Tis the season to be betrothed, after all.”
With the warnings ringing throughout his ears, Jake stepped up to the platform, meeting your curious eyes. Simultaneously, you both bowed, and Jake was taken aback to the formalities you’d mentioned previously before. Today you looked more at ease, and he couldn’t quite figure out what for. Was it because combat came naturally to you? Or perhaps it was the reconnection of you both? Only time would tell.
Although this was an obligatory battle, seemingly for educational and ritual purposes, Jake could sense that you wouldn’t go easy on him. That wasn’t what worried him. Jake also wasn’t the most skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and he knew what the outcome of this event would be. That wasn’t what worried him either.
What worried him was the realization that he was excited to be with you again. He recalled the past few days, tracing through them to find that his mind had often wandered off to the upcoming battle with you. The thought of getting to know how you carried this particular interest of yours, the thought of meeting your gaze again, the thought of merely perceiving you had plagued his mind until this very moment. He felt like a fool, like a little boy eyeing a certain pastry he had craved through the windowsill. Maybe Sunghoon’s wandering eyes were right; maybe he was smitten with you.
He looked up to see you unsheathing your sword, preparing for the beginning. He mimicked your action, the blade unfamiliar and uncomfortable in his hands, designed to flaunt rather than to function. The both of you poised with your arm outstretched, blades crossing and knees bent.
He could tell by the slight grin on your face that you were well aware of the outcome. He wondered if you knew he visited for entirely different reasons than battle, but judging by your expression he knew the answer was quite evident.
He was so distracted by you that he didn’t even realize the start of the duel. He focused to see that you had knocked the heavy blade of out his hand (doing him a favor, really) and as it soared in the sky, you twirled him around and pulled his back flush against your frame, encompassing him in a body lock. Jake couldn’t care less about what you were doing to him. The mere feeling of you sharing contact with him was enough to make his brain go dizzy. And quite surprisingly, he sensed that you were affected too, due to the evident rising heartbeat against his chest.
As the fight commenced and the audience clapped (blasphemy really, Jake hadn’t carried out a single action the entire time), his attention focused on your figure, which was walking off the platform. He noted your slight trembling hands and your heavy breathing, accompanied by the lack of eye contact he had once received before.
Were you nervous? Embarrassed? Or perhaps, blushing? These thoughts haunted Jake as he returned to his chambers, falling into a restless sleep filled with you, you, and only you.
Tumblr media
A couple of weeks later, you had the opportunity to tour the extravagant castle. It was a part of your training, in case the palace ever fell under attack and you were required to defend it, however, most of your comrades took it as an opportunity to finally experience a sliver of royalty that they had never had growing up. As most of you came from poor backgrounds, the diamond chandeliers and velvet carpets seemed daunting and awe-striking, and you swore some of your units had hearts in their eyes as they dragged their fingers along the winding corridors of the palace.
You, however, weren’t quite as interested. The sole purpose for your visit was education and you made sure to concern yourself with only that, disregarding most of the accessories and amenities the palace had to offer. You didn’t really focus on most of the extravagant interior (although that was probably the most vital segment in your training) because you knew it was filled with barely-touched rooms designed to complement and boast. All fortresses were built with the sole impression of looking majestic, and the only part you deemed important for your training were the places in which the royal family frequented.
You were told that Jake enjoyed the palace gardens, so you ventured off to exactly there, mentally mapping out particular landmarks that you help you familiarize layout. You could see exactly why he frequented this location; the white rose bushes and worn stone paths resounded a sense of serenity, and you soon forgot about the actual reason you were here, continuing to inhale every petal and feel every path of grass underneath your sole-covered toes.
Somehow you had found your way to the fountain, sitting on the edge and tracing your palm across the clear water drawing ripples. You had laughed when you first found the location because of the angel sitting atop the basin, reminding you exactly of the man behind the reason you had come here.
Jake. It always seemed to steer back to him. After your duel you simply couldn’t stop your brain from wandering off to his presence, the way he moved, his pretty eyelashes, his kissable li—
“Y/N, are you okay?”
You hadn’t realized you were extremely close to falling into the fountain until Jake’s voice resounded, bringing you out of your quite embarrassing daydream. A flush covered your rosy cheeks as you locked gazes with him and nodded, letting him pull you up to your feet and away from the water.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, gripping your shoulders lightly.
Your brain felt dizzy from the direct contact, and your throat dried up as you attempted to speak.
“Training, walking around memorizing—”
“Calm down Y/N, I understand. Please take a seat love, you must’ve had quite the shock from almost falling into that fountain,” he responded, gesturing to a patch of pasture as he pulled you down next to him.
If your brain wasn’t malfunctioning already, it definitely was now. Love. The word floated through your head like dandelion seeds in rough winds, like a kite gone lost. No one had ever called you such an endearing term before, and despite not knowing Jake’s intentions behind it, you still cherished the four letters he had chosen to label you.
You wondered what Jake would say if he knew the reason you almost fell was the fact that you were daydreaming about him. Or perhaps he already knew? You turned to ask him something of the sort, only to meet his preset gaze on you already.
Maybe it was a part of your imagination, but he stared at you as if you held the universe in your arms. If Jake Sim was the sun, he stared at you as if you were an even brighter star speckled somewhere far, far away from his vicinity, yet so, so close. His stare was so warm, so tender that it made you want to shine more brilliantly to keep that expression within his eyes and his heart and never, never ever let go of it.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” you found yourself asking instead, your tense atmosphere dissipating and shifting into something more fond, more affectionate.
“Like what?” he returned, a slight grin on his face indicating he already knew the answer.
“Like you’re in love with me,” you blurted out, the impact of your words hitting you only after you’d recited them.
His gaze shifted, turning into something rawer and more emotional, almost as if you had crossed an unknown boundary and he didn’t know how to react to it. You could feel regret filling your feelings, and maybe he sensed that too because he changed the topic, effectively shutting down any potential outbursts.
“Come on Y/N, let’s get you back to the castle. Your comrades must be worrying about your absence.”
Since then, it had become quite the regular occasion for you to cross paths with the prince in the palace gardens (willingly or unwillingly, you wouldn’t answer). Sometimes you had Ni-ki in tow (only for him to be cast aside anyway), and sometimes you strolled alone, subconsciously keeping an eye out for the man that had somehow bewitched your heavy heart.
You didn’t know when the line blurred between admiration and romance, but you quite simply didn’t care because the Jake Sim had given you his time in return for conversation. He seemed to be enjoying seeing you, talking to you, breathing with you, sitting with you so close that your shoulders almost touched and you could lean over and kiss him. Out of all the pretty humans, he wanted your time, your affection, your words, and your smiles. And you certainly weren’t complaining.
At times you’d find yourselves talking about anything and everything in the world, and at others, you’d fall into silence, bedridden with comfort. His presence grew consolatory to you, an aphrodisiac you’d simply succumbed to throughout the routine of your lifestyle. His figure often occupied your thoughts before you slept, and you’d wake up to the chirping birdcalls in anticipation of your next meeting. Dreaming, you were, as you floated with your feet in the dappled clouds blessed with the warm sunshine that was Jake’s laughter.
Deep within your mind, buried for a later reflection was the hidden notion of restriction, of not being allowed to fall for the charms of his royal highness. A dangerous tightrope you pranced on, shying towards his flirtatious advances and straying away from the acceptance of your feelings. You knew that one day had to come to terms with reality, but that day was not today, not yesterday, not tomorrow. Soon, you presumed, soon enough to infiltrate your worries but not soon enough for you to distance yourself from your growing affections.
One day, when the night sky was particularly clear and the white stars were particularly bright, Jake asked you a simple question.
“Y/N, what happens when you… you want something you can’t have?”
You turned to your side, meeting the heavy, cautious glance of the human next to you. Jake always seemed very grown up to you, perhaps because of his princely duties, but at this very moment, he resembled a childish boy, as if he had broken a vase behind his mother’s back and tried to hide from his consequences.
You couldn’t tell if you enjoyed his cautious vulnerability, but you did have the slightest inkling of the layers hidden underneath his seemingly simple question.
“Well, it’s human nature, your royal highness. I suppose it—”
“No but, what happens?” he prompted, effectively cutting your words off and leaving you wordless.
“Well,” you started after some consideration, trying to phrase your answer quite sensibly, “well then, it’s simple. You bear the consequences. Because Jake, we all want what we can’t have.”
And the look on his face haunted your dreams for many nights.
Tumblr media
The royal banquet was an event many anticipated, Jake very well included. Delicacies from far and wide were served upon gold platters (made with numerous ingredients such as the pears Jake was discovered feasting on), and although it served as a chance for royal delegations with countries much like theirs, the entire palace staff was invited. It was an occasion simply to remember, and Jake being excited was a bit of an understatement.
Jake couldn’t deny that a factor of his enthusiasm was your attendance this year. Despite having many acquaintances, the only person Jake typically interacted with at formal events was Sunghoon, and your presence would be a nice contrast to his usual experience.
(And maybe he’d been waiting for a chance to see you outside of your occasional garden getaways, but he’d never admit to it.)
From the moment Jake arrived at the occasion, his eyes were searching for you. Although he knew training kept you for quite a while, his gaze was always focused on the entrance, hesitantly waiting with a chocolate mousse in hand.
“Sunghoon, when do you suppose the knights will arrive?”
“Your Highness, not to be disrespectful but you’ve asked this question thrice already. They will be here soon, I swear.”
“Sorry Sunghoon,” Jake responded, embarrassed but too bashful to care, “as you can see, I’m quite impatient.”
“It is quite obvious, your Highness. Here, why don’t we preoccupy ourselves with conversation? I’m sure our comrades from far and wide will be expectant to speak a few words with you, hmm? It will take your mind off, ahem, a particular other person.”
Conversation was the plan and Jake followed it, mingling with his guests to distract himself. As a prince, Jake was born and raised to frequent polite manners and converse equivalently, but truth be told, his usual acquaintances were young women seeking a way to his heart (and his money). At normal times he wouldn’t be bothered by such minor inconveniences, but today he just couldn’t seem to return the same flirtatious advances.
Maybe it was due to the certain soldier lingering at the tip of his tongue, the corners of his brain. Jake was extremely lucky that he was graced with a good enough appearance that women seemed to be entranced by because, without it, he most likely would’ve received complaints regarding his obvious disinterest towards people who garnered it.
He was able to flutter around casually until his mother pulled him aside, excitedly urging him to direct his attention to his father’s annual oration. Jake was, simply put, perplexed as to why she was so enthusiastic about a simple speech, but he followed his mother’s orders, anticipation bubbling inside his ever-so-faint heart.
He should’ve protected his heart while he could’ve.
“With proud honor, I would like to announce the betrothal of my son, Jake Sim, to the elegant princess of the Shin kingdom, Princess Yuna!”
The only emotion Jake felt was numbness. Despite Sunghoon shaking his shoulder like a madman and a multitude of cheers resounding around him, the only thing that phased Jake was the distant sound of a plate crashing, igniting an unknown fear hidden deep within his heart.
And as clapping echoed around Jake, he whipped around to see broken shards of glass speckled on the floor, and the love of his life running away with the intention of never seeing him again.
Tumblr media
In many novels you had read the phrase ‘the heart grows fonder with distance’, but you never assumed it to be true until you started evading the prince.
It had been approximately three weeks since your last meeting (not that you were counting), and you seemed to be facing insanity. Once a narrative that followed romance novels, your tale now diverged into that of heartbreak and sorrow, betrayed by the person whom you were most bewitched by.
No books in your library explicated how to heal a torn heart, so you confided in the most trustworthy source you knew: Nishimura Riki.
“See Y/N, this is why you should never trust a man.”
“But Ni-ki you—”
“I’m the exception.”
Was your best friend the most suitable option for comfort? Mayhaps not, but he tried to the best of his abilities, and you appreciated his efforts.
Three consecutive knocks startled the both of you and before you could even stand upright, Ni-ki had opened the door, coming face to face with the royal commander. The both of you bowed to your superior, who merely waved the formalities off and requested an audience for a short while.
“Knight Y/N, I request you see the prince immediately as—”
“With all due respect Sir Sunghoon, I have no desire of interacting with his royal highness ever again.”
“Y/N—”
“My decision is final.”
With a dejected expression and a heavy heart, Sunghoon left the building, leaving you with a shattered mind and a dull ache in your chest. Today’s interaction had broken the thin wall you had mentally built to separate you and your lover, and you traveled right back to the beginning as if you had just run away from a shattered glass plate and a wedding announcement.
The only word to describe your predicament was reality. You and Jake had spent weeks floating around in the heavens, soaring through the skies like kites let free. Now your feet were grounded, bound in shackles that hauled behind you, growing heavier and heavier with each teardrop.
You suppose there was a way to free yourself, but it wasn’t a solution that would be found yesterday, today, or tomorrow. Once soaring, you were now drowning, ruined in the faint memories of him, him, and only him.
Days passed with monochromasy, and you buried yourself in work with the hopes of distraction. The gardens were a plate untouched, unseen to your naked eye, and instead, you frequented the confines of your bed, once slumbering with dreams about a certain man now only to slumber with cold rivulets gushing down your cheeks instead.
Hatred filled your once curious heart, seeping deep within chambers once filled with pliant affection. You found yourself obsessively irritated at training, lashing out at your colleagues for the simplest of matters and aggressively sparring during practice. As a knight, you well knew that patience was key, but Jake Sim had ignited your murderous streak and cursed you with eyes of red vision, fury the only lens through which you noticed your surroundings.
But most ironically, you hated that you wished him back. Dusk was spent with tear-stained cloths and torn newsletters, every inch of your being reminding you of who you once were. And you hated that while you were suffering, he was enjoying his new fiancé, frequenting ballrooms and relishing lively conversation.
You wanted him gone (and yet you wanted him close). You really did.
Tumblr media
“So, Jake, what’s your favorite color?”
Jake hated everything about this setup. Currently, he was spending time with his bride-to-be (his parents had forced him to for a good relationship), and he wouldn’t be lying if he said this was extremely awkward. There was nothing wrong with Yuna per se; in all the right circumstances, Jake would’ve thought her an ideal bride. However, she wasn’t you. She wasn’t the one that he was in love with, the one that flitted through his dreams every night, the one he spent every day thinking of, the one he was smitten with.
“It’s blue. Yours?”
“Mine too!”
They both fell silent. Silence. Whenever the noise diminished between you and Jake, it felt comfortable. It was nice to cherish and he basked in it. But this silence? This silence was awkward, something he wanted to throw off a jagged cliff and never see again.
“You’re in love with someone, aren’t you?” Yuna suddenly asked, chewing on a piece of asparagus.
“What? Of course not. And even if I was, it wouldn’t matter.”
“Jake, I don’t want to spend an eternity with someone that doesn’t love me.”
His heart softened at her words, and he turned to glance up at her calculating gaze as if he was a mathematics theorem she was meant to prove. And Jake despised math.
“But we can’t—”
“We can Jake. If you will for something so badly, the universe will grant your wish. And I can see your desperation, Jake. You’re in love.”
“Stop. Please. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
They both fell silent again but this time it seemed tense, conniving. After a few moments of shifting the uneaten steak on his plate, Jake spoke up again.
“I apologize. I shouldn’t have been so impolite,”
“No no, the fault is mine. I intruded into decisions that you should be making, and I just heavily influenced you.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, have you ever been in love with someone Yuna? Do you know what it feels like?”
Yuna stopped playing with the food on her plate, freezing at Jake’s words.
“I have been in love, actually.”
Jake waited silently, noticing Yuna’s shaking hands.
“Love is a fragile thing, Jake. Once shattered, no matter how much you try to put the pieces back together, they won’t ever fit the same. I shattered it, Jake. I shattered my love for her because I wasn’t brave enough to back out of this arrangement.”
With caution, Jake outstretched his arm, silently holding Yuna’s as a sign of comfort. Although he couldn’t see her teardrops, he could hear them.
“Please Jake, please don’t make the same mistake as me.”
He looked up at her, teary-eyed and soulless, urging him on.
And then he ran.
He ran and he ran, as far as his legs could take him and even past the point of that, with only one goal in mind. Time felt supersonic, a blur that he seemed to experience only with the presence of you. Your name was all that echoed in his mind. He didn’t know where you were, or how you were doing, but he knew he had to find you. To tell you how much he loved you, how much he wanted you, how much of a fool he was letting you go. He was an idiot. But he was yours.
Your house was the first place he had visited, opening the door to a slightly angry Nishimura who relaxed once realizing the situation. He didn’t know where you were. He tried the training ground, only to see it empty. The garden, and the banquet hall, all empty. He felt like he was losing his mind, a game of cat and mouse making him a madman.
And then it hit him.
He burst open the doors to the stage, seeing you sitting on top, tracing mindless circles into the polished wood. You looked up at his entrance, your eyes filling with rage and angst as you turned to get up and leave the area.
He hated it. Eyes once filled with love and affection towards him now were violent. He loathed that he was the cause of your misery. And he was going to do everything to fix it.
“Y/N! Y/N please, please don’t leave. Just listen to me for five minutes. That’s all I ask.”
You stilled, your backbone facing him. “And why should I?”
“Because, because I made a mistake. I’ll admit it; I knew that day would come. I knew my fate was predetermined and it was my stupid fault for being a coward to not change it. And yes, I made a mistake in falling for you.”
“Is this what you—”
“But I don’t regret it. Not one bit. Because if loving you was a mistake, then I’d make it over and over again for the rest of my life. If loving you was a mistake, then suddenly I adore mistakes, because loving you was the best thing that could ever happen to me.”
He trudged up the platform, facing your tearful eyes.
“You once told me that we all want what we can’t have. I couldn’t have you Y/N. But I wanted you. I still do, so, so badly.”
He kneeled, handing you the sword he’d dubbed you with the first day you two had met.
“I want to be with you Y/N. No matter how hard it is, I want to try. So will you dub me as a knight for your love?”
He couldn’t tell what you were thinking. With tears streaming down your face and his heart pounding out of his chest, he braced himself for the worst, closing his eyes shut.
Only for you to shakily shift the blade from his shoulder to shoulder, dropping down to your knees and hugging him, crying into his shoulder.
“Knights swear an oath to never do the wrong thing, you idiot,” you speak softly, breathily, and he can feel your small smile against his shoulder. “Then I’ll be an idiot. Your idiot.”

DAY 9: "Did you really gift me an owl?" "You love the little one from Harry Potter, so i thought it would be a good gift."
You have known Rhys since you were very young, but even today you are still sometimes amazed at the shit he can pull off.
Your father worked for his father at the Night C. Corporation, was his right-hand man, and that always allowed the two of you to hang out and play together. As you grew up then you became closer and closer, being part of the same group of friends and supporting each other in the escapes you both made from your homes, tired of the toxic environment you lived in.
You never had a good relationship with or your own, and because of that you considered her mother to be your own, since she also considered you essentially a daughter.
You were beside him in all the moments of his life, both the good and the bad. You were by his side even as he buried his mother and sister, whom you also regarded as a younger sister and loved sincerely, who died in a car accident with the father of what was once his best friend, Tamlin, who was hardly hurt in the accident.
At the funeral, you had seen him shed only one tear, a single drop of weeping had run down his face during the entire event, as he stood next to his father, who as always had a hard, impenetrable gaze, although this time in his eyes you could actually see the pain of loss. Rhys had only let himself go with you, when you had gone to his room in the evening to tell him you were going home and to say good night. He had fallen to the floor in front of you, hugging your knees as he cried in despair, immediately you had lowered yourself to his level and hugged him, letting him vent in the crook of his neck as I gently stroked his back.
Eventually you had fallen asleep hugging him as you held him close, since he had asked you to stay and if he could hold you because he needed human contact, or rather he needed to feel you close.
A few months after this had happened his father had also died, however, from natural causes, leaving him holding his entire empire when he was little more than a boy.
You even here never abandoned him and helped him to run what was left to him, and he in return had appointed you vice president. Many had not appreciated this choice, along with that of hiring his most various friends on the board, and he in response had simply fired them.
And that brings us to where we are today. You just closed a deal today with Helion, the CEO of the Day&Day Company, and in keeping with tradition Rhys gave you a gift. You had taken the rounds of giving you a gift every time someone closes a deal after you had muddled through a virtually impossible one, and Rhys wanted to thank you.
You laugh thinking about what Rhys could have gotten you; last time it was a pink cowboy hat that now hangs above your bed. You enter his studio and are greeted by an incredible image.
Rhys is behind his desk, behind a small cage, inside of which is an owl inside.
"Whose owl is it?" You ask bewilderedly, as you approach. It's really beautiful, and you can't help but touch its feathers, feeling how biting they are.
"Yours." Your friend simply says, as he walks around the table to come beside you and put an arm around your shoulders.
"Did you really gift me an owl?" Ask shocked and amused at the same time.
"You love the little one from Harry Potter, so i thought it would be a good gift." He responds as if it were the most obvious thing.
"You are not well my darling." You comment before turning to him and looking into his eyes. "Thank you, though. I've always wanted an owl, ever since I saw Harry Potter when I was little." You finish laughing as you hug him.
He returns the gesture, but not before whispering something in your ear.
"They had thought of another gift also, however, I need to know if you want it or not." Rhys says, pulling away from the embrace a little, but still holding me in his arms.
It has been a few years now that the slight boundary between friendship and something more is becoming more and more blurred, constantly flirting with each other or through gestures that blatantly no two friends would ever make, so much so that your friends do nothing but tease you.
"And what would that be?" You ask in a whisper. He adjusts a strand of your hair, then approaches your ear again.
"Well a dinner in your favorite restaurant, at seven o'clock, just you, me and a bottle of wine." He proposes, and looking into his eyes you understand perfectly that tonight the relationship between the two of you will inevitably change, you have been pretending not to know this for too many years now by covering your eyes, but at the same time you cannot wait for the moment when it will happen.
"You can count on it." You respond by leaving him a kiss on his cheek, already dreaming of receiving a different kind of kiss from him this evening.

Salt Water Tears
Made this awhile back. I’m not sure it’s it’s good or not but decide to post it anyways cause it’s taking space up in my notes
Poseidon might be out of character but screw it
Warning for abuse, misogyny and murder
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Love and hatred are powerful emotions that both the gods and humans alike
It is something that both experience to such a gripping degree
It can lead to both good and bad
Hate can lead to war but also change
And love can lead to something beautiful and can tear down even the mightiest of empires
It’s intriguing how both emotions despite being opposites can intertwine together like a coil
It’s especially to Aphrodite as the blond goddess spies on others love lives for fun
It’s fun to her as she sees as love can either consume and destroy someone from the inside out
Progressing slowly into that coil
Normally she watches over human stories for the gods don’t have much going except for affairs and the once beautiful feeling dying
But there is one tale of love and hate that has always stood out to her
Whether that be for its tragedy of an ending or beautiful start she personally isn’t sure
But whenever it came to the god Poseidon it was sure to be something interesting
And the tragedy of the only person he loved is certainly an example of that
You were born to a small village to a peasant family
In the grand scheme of the world you weren’t special
You didn’t have power or status but you did have one thing many people lacked
Respect for others and nature
Yeah, doesn’t sound like much but in your village where brutes ran wild without so much as a ounce of intelligence or care for anything around them it was a lot
It’s why you always lingered near the beachside where no one would visit
It was the only respite from your family who was already pressuring you to be married off
A fate you wished to evade as long as you could as to keep your freedom
Your mother was a constant reminder of what you feared
A worn down woman, one who felt no love for herself and abided by your hateful father
A man who didn’t know any love for anything but his own pride and image to the other men in the community
To be completely honest it sucked
You wished to have a different fate, to be able to explore the vast open sea like that of legends
Or travel to distant lands you’d heard whispers of
Not being confined to a home and used as an object to satisfy someone else’s desires
So there on that beach you let fantasy reign over your mind
Staring out towards the deep blue ocean with longing
Letting the salty air tussle your hair
Sea foam staining your dress
Picking up shells and feathers from the birds that you feed scraps of food to along with the colourful fish
Picking out the trash that somehow ended up in the water
Saving a few fish in the process
It’s odd but you feel as if the things that most consider just to be food to be your friends
Listening instead of telling you to shut up, that a woman should remain silent and submissive
You envy the fish
It’s yet another day of heading to the beach when you find someone there
Standing amongst the waves is a man
Blond hair that reminds you of the golden sand
Blue eyes that looks like the depths of the sea
He looks at you
You stare back
It’s kinda awkward for a bit as the crashing waves fill in for the silence between the two of you
You take a step backwards and you see him move as well
“I can leave if you’d like? I don’t want to bother”
“Your the one cleaning the beach. Why human?”
At him saying that you can’t help but feel a sense of confusion wags over you but you brush it off
Opting to instead just answer him
“It’s wrong how they treat the earth. it’s the least I can do considering I can’t change them”
He stays silent at that answer just watching you
Trying to see if your lying
But there is only truth, a guilty truth for it being the only thing you can do in this situation
He grunts and walks straight into the ocean
Beneath the sapphire waves as your left dumbfounded at what you just saw
Until realizing that he was likely a god
Specifically Poseidon
What the-
You return to the beach a few days later and find it empty as usual
Despite that you feel a presence occasionally watching you
Not threatening so to say but there
Watching with curiosity as you fish out glass bottles and old bits of torn cloth
It’s not much but you do your part
Along the way you pick up shells and string together small bracelets for yourself
All the while that feeling continues
And this becomes slightly normal until he appears again
This time though he approaches and your left cautiously letting him get closer
He stays a few feet away but it’s significant compared to the last time you met him
Let alone now knowing he’s likely a god or some other type of higher being
Now, you weren’t overly religious compared to a few others in the village that had pledged themself to worshiping the pantheon
But now having him in front of you is kinda having you question if you should go to a temple and pray
“I’m curious of you. Indulge me in this”
Your eyes widen a bit but you nod, soon finding yourself wrapped in conversation with the blond man
Talking with Poseidon is a bit of a challenge at the beginning
He is the epitome of a perfectionist, and rather cold to the point that you don’t know if something is pissing him off
Viewing himself as a perfect being despite how he had some glaring issues
Mainly being his arrogance and pride
But you suppose that’s how anyone would end up with such unimaginable power
But after many days of trial and error you find common ground with him
Mainly on topics such as the ocean and his family
It’s odd hearing myths you grew up hearing come from the perspective of someone actually there
Yet interesting nonetheless especially as you tell him the version you had heard through the grapevine
He seems to find some amusement in hearing the slightly skewered version of events from the humans perspective
Often times adding some snide remark about it that makes you laugh
The way in which you casually roll off the insults to both yourself and your entire race seems to catch his attention
He might’ve been confused, or maybe even angry to an extent but he didn’t bring it up
Especially as you asked of how the ocean worked
Its world and freedom that came with it
You can’t help but try to imagine the pictures he paints of the kingdom he rules
Colourful collections of underwater flora of sorts called coral
Or the deepest reaches of his domain where Apollo’s light can’t penetrate
At some point though it shifts from exclusively asking him things to him inquiring about you and your life
Why you kept coming here in the first place let alone felt obligated to try and keep the waters clean
Especially when in his eyes humans were all greedy and selfish
Nothing but bottom feeding scum
With all that reason it shouldn’t make sense as to why he’s so curious but you don’t comment on it and tell him the answer
From the moment you were born you were created for one purpose alone
Marriage
Before you could even open your eyes your father could see the money he could make off of selling you
Your mother couldn’t care less after being worn down over time
She could barely care for anything anyways when she was focused on pleasing him
Couldn’t even take care of you when you had gotten to the age of being able to walk and make conscious decisions
Leaving you to your lonesome in a place that would eat you up in not time
So with that you focused on survival
Ending up scavenging the forest for extra food to fill your empty stomach
Learning to see nature’s beauty in the process
Finding the beach that you’d come to see as an escape
A real home compared to that empty house full of nothing but violence and the possibility of getting screamed out
Growing up into a beautiful young woman didn’t help in all this
Getting the leering eyes from men twice your age within town
Your father’s greed growing as he realized he could capitalize off this even more
You can feel your freedom slipping away by the days now
Sand through your fingers into the inevitable fate of a loveless marriage to a pig of a man
One who would break you to his own satisfaction
Wanting to see the fire in your eyes be smothered by his own hands
With all that Poseidon asks something afterwards that makes you smile
“I insult you and your face, why aren’t you mad”
“I don’t mind when most of what you say is tinged with some sort of truth. Especially since your the only one who treats me as something other than an object”
During his visits after this he changes a bit
He sits closer to you on the sand
What used to be a few feet separating the two of you now becomes that of a foot
You don’t comment on it out of respect
Especially since the conversations between the two of you become longer
A few times you barely got back home in time to avoid a verbal battle with your father
You couldn’t come to care about that though
Especially as the conversations become more deep
Actual emotion leaking through the cracks and allowing you to see something in him that you hadn’t seen before
Even a few times giving you the honour of seeing a small smile
It makes something in you flutter at that
You bury those feelings though, it was absurd to think of him that way
A god
When your you
So you continue on without addressing it
It doesn’t help that he’s started gifting you stuff as well
Starting off as some pretty shells you craft into jewelry
To strings of pearls he says he wanted to get rid of
It sends mixed messages in your head
Especially since he continues his hating human talk
(Though he notably stops making comments about you)
And it stays that way
A limbo you found yourself pondering about until one night it all changed
The moon hung high up in the dark blue sky as you sit beside the sea god watching waves crash endlessly onto the shore
Foam coming up to gently nip at your toes, something that makes a small smile come to your face
The stars shined within the endless sea that was the sky held up by atlas
Yet another tale the tyrant of the sea had told you of during these taken
As of the moment he weaves pearls into your hair
He’s insistent to do so despite you telling him that it wasn’t necessary
But he is not one who listens often and this is a case of this
“Marry me”
“Huh?!”
Yeah so he just blurts that out
You certainly didn’t expect it, though anything from him is
“Did you not hear what I said? Marry me”
“I understand what you said I’m just confused”
“How could you be confused about what I said? It’s quite simple even for a simple human brain”
You deadpan a bit at that but quickly refute with “I’m confused cause I’m human and your asking that. You know I’m not a god”
“It’s not much of a problem”
“But I’m not-“
“I can make you one”
You go silent at that, watching as his eyes stare down into your own
Emotions bleeding out of those deep blue abyss’s
“Won’t your family be upset?”
“I don’t care”
“B-“
“I said I don’t care. If anything they’d be more confused than anything that I’ve found someone”
“I…” you pause for a moment
You love him, you know you do but your still afraid of being confined away
Loosing your freedom to a person you loved would be worse than that of a stranger
“Would I be able to travel. To see the world even if we are together”
He scoffs
“Of course you can. I’d give you the world if I could”
Whatever hesitation you had melts away
He sees this and holds his hand out
You take it
“Meet me here tomorrow. I will take you away from this place”
You nod, tears lining your eyes as a smile lights up your face
Going home you feel joy for once
Hopeful
Bbbb
When you go home that night your met with your father glaring you down
Before you can even walk through the door he’s yelling profanities
Accusing you of being a whore
That your a disappointment
As usual
Your mother is in the corner, staring yet not intervening even as he grows more angry
More violent to the point your getting legitimately scared
You may be a grown woman but you know he’s stronger
Your entire childhood is an example of that
Words are thrown between the two of you
A haze of anger blinding you as it did him
And then it happens
At first you can’t comprehend what had happened
Your mother screamed and look terrified
And then a pain entered your gut
You look down to see red staining your chiton
Staring back you see your fathers expression
He even seemed surprised by his action
Yet he holds up the blade again
Intent clear as to finish the job, it was too late to turn around now
You run
Bolting out the house and into the darkened streets
Through the old beaten path of the woods
Down into the sandy beaches you found to be a real home
But in that panicked state you found yourself in you end up tripping into the sand
Just by the waters edge as he catches up
The look in his eyes shines with intent
It’s almost immediate that Poseidon feels that something is wrong
There’s something that goes down his spine, a feeling of dread he’d never felt before
And somehow he knows it’s about you
In an instant he’s back at that beach, a place that was just for you and him
Now sullied by the sight of a man holding your form beneath the waters surface
He forgets to breath for a moment before that man is dead
Blood staining the sand as he kicks his disgusting form away
Your dead already
No breath filling your lungs except for the salt water he held domain over
There is no saving you
And that breaks something in him
Gently he takes your body into his arms, water absorbed into your clothes along with sand clinging to you
Those pearls in your hair are still there, glimmering in the moonlight as he holds you close
He destroyed the village
A large sudden wave completely decimating the inhabitants before they could even wake
He held no sympathy
How could he when they had only wronged you your entire life
Perhaps that’s why he hates humans so much
Because in the end they are selfish creatures that drain the light out of anything good
They lie
Cheat
And manipulate just to kill whatever spot of light is left in the abyss of shit they call a world There is no one left to tell the tale of that village
nor any landmarks left to signify it was ever even there
It’s name is only left on ancient maps, most of which are destroyed by time or by his own hand
It’s a petty act but one that is the only satisfaction he can get anymore
He sits alone in his throne room, the other throne long made for you is stashed away
Kept for his eyes alone that oftentimes can’t linger on it for more than a few seconds
He only allows himself to break on those lone nights when the crushing weight of it all come down on him once more
He hates that he cries, a perfect being such as himself shouldn’t do so
Yet you make him do it
A feeble human who had captured his cold heart
Only for it to be destroyed once you are taken
He never talks of your real name, only ever referring to you as “Amphitrite”
No one deserves to utter your name
Not even himself after he failed you
But Aphrodite knows
As does Hades who mourns his brother’s loss
Love and hatred coil around one another
Whatever respect he had for humanity forever died that day, leading him in a downward spiral of hatred
It’s amazing what love can do, isn’t it?

It's really interesting to compare Bode's story to Reva's, specifically in how they view family and the Jedi Order.
While it's a little unclear how Reva ended up in the Inquisitorius (I can't quite tell if they picked her up against her will and only after she was captured did she choose to use the position to try to kill Anakin, or if she intentionally let the Empire pick her up so she could join the Inquisitors so she could kill Anakin), there is a level of choice to what she's doing there. She knows what she is and where her loyalties lie and is choosing to keep hurting other Jedi in order to ultimately gain enough to power to get vengeance for the Jedi that Anakin killed. She's making this choice over and over again because she can't let go of her grief and anger enough to walk away. She's causing the same misery that she wants to get justice for, now.
Bode chose to join the Empire in order to protect his daughter and is hunting down the Jedi which leaves his daughter effectively captured by the same people who murdered his wife and would happily murder both him and his daughter anyway. He's putting his daughter right in the middle of the danger he's so scared of, constantly exposing her and leaving her alone with the enemy because he can't let go of that fear enough to find another way.
Reva still considers the Jedi family, despite what she's helping the Inquisitors do. She wants justice for her slaughtered family, for her desecrated home, for her lost life. And because of that, she does still have a strong connection to the idea of family, enough that Obi-Wan is able to use that to convince Reva to help distract Anakin long enough for the Hidden Path to escape. Reva is able to understand that there are other families among the refugees, families that will be getting destroyed if she doesn't help Obi-Wan escape with them, and so she does. She doesn't let Anakin destroy any more families. She's even in some ways touched by Owen and Beru's fervent defense of Luke, she's almost confused by the way they are willing to die for a Force sensitive child who isn't theirs. That concept of family MEANS something to her and is able to keep reaching her over and over again.
Bode, however, makes several snide remarks at Cal about how he could never understand the choice Bode made because Cal isn't a father. He's lessening the familial connection that existed (and still exists) between the Jedi, which seems to suggest that if Bode ever did feel like the Jedi were family, it wasn't enough. It almost makes me wonder if Bode was brought to the Jedi at the older end of the spectrum and so he still has memories of his birth family and struggles more with the Jedi lifestyle because of it, not unlike Anakin himself. And so when he makes a more "typical" family with a wife and a child, he considers that family more normal and his feelings for them more real and more powerful than anything Cal might feel towards the Jedi. And tellingly, the thing that truly gets him to betray Cal is the idea that Cal might want to help OTHER FAMILIES in the Hidden Path get to safety, potentially putting HIS family at more risk. He was willing to let Cal and maybe a few of Cal's friends come stay on Tanalorr, but the concept of just helping any family that needs it is a breaking point for Bode.
The concept of family, then, isn't really the same for Bode as it is for Reva. It doesn't truly mean the same thing to either of them and family for Bode is more about an extension of himself while for Reva family is about selflessness, it's about compassion and kindness and love. Reva can see other families, even families that look different from her own, and understand them. She can see them as equally as important as her own. She can want to protect them from feeling the loss that she has felt. Bode can't. Bode can't look at any other family and see them as equal, everything is inferior to his own because it's not about HIM.
And of course throughout the game we get comparisons between Bode and the Inquisitors, the Inquisitors keep getting called basically animals, dogs on Vader's leash, while Bode is something better.
But Reva is so much more human than Bode has ever been. Reva, an Inquisitor, has so much more capacity for understanding and compassion in her than Bode has ever shown. And we don't see that any clearer than in their reactions to the Hidden Path.

"He's not my father!" - a luke skywalker fanfic idea (AU)
Kinda had this thought in my head for a while. Luke Skywalker is reborn in a galaxy where Order 66 never happened, Palpatine was killed by Mace Windu, Anakin never became a Sith and Padme lived. That doesn't mean everything is sunshine and rainbows. The empire still weighs heavily, its infrastructure not completely destroyed along with their leader. Little Luke Remembers. Nobody's having the best time. All Luke wants to do is go home.
_____________________________________________________________
Luke doesn't come to his memories right away. They come in nightmares. He has had constant nightmares since he was a child about the life he lived before (sequels notwithstanding) and when he is 9 years old something happens. Holding his father's lightsaber and lighting it, the breeze brushing through his hair and he thinks 'Oh'.
He passes out. The memories and the force caused him to convulse and scream. The force had always been fond of the young boy, not the passive serenity Obi-wan faced or the beating heart of Anakin Skywalker. However, the fondness did not abate the suffering to come. The windows crack and the walls shake. Anakin is trying to reach him, but something has slammed him and his wife into the wall. Luke's force presence shifting, morphing, and tearing. Leia wouldn't stop screaming. Echoing the anguish cries. This can't be happening. Anakin thought.
Anakin and Padme were adamant about not having the Jedi teach their children. The Jedi had come gently to ask, but quickly took their leave afterwards. They hardly talked to the Council. Perhaps from some anger or pain or maybe guilt. Perhaps it was a mistake to keep them away. Obi-wan had come around often and Luke loved him. Loved him so much that when the nightmares came only Obi-wan could comfort him. Sobbing into the man’s robes saying a nickname given by a long lost love.
"Ben. Ben. Why didn't you tell me?" The boy gripped the Jedi's robes tightly, squishing his little face to hide the tears, the terror.
Obi-wan would ask what, but the boy couldn't remember or couldn't say.
"Anakin. Padme. Have you thought about bringing him to the temple?" Obi-wan took them aside to ask after one such episode to where only Obi-wan could comfort.
Oh, how that stung both of them. Luke, during the suffering, hadn't recognized his mother. Treating her as if she were a stranger and Anakin, he treated him with resistance and violence. Oftentimes, Anakin had to take Leia aside while they wait for it to go down. Helpless to stop it.
Obi-wan's question sparked anger and a leaving to where little Luke hadn't seen his Ben for over a year.
When little Luke stopped screaming, they had rushed over. His force prescence injured, weak and cold. Quickly, they reached out to the very people they once didn't let him go to.
"Help you, we will." Master Yoda eyes gazed at the Chosen One's face. Anakin refused to look into them.
"The Jedi halls of healing may be the best place to monitor him." Master Windu, the Sith Slayer and Hero of the Republic stares at their exhausted figures. An offer of compassion of help despite all the animosity.
Both parents had tried so hard to keep him away, but they had reached their limit. At this point, Luke could die or kill someone. Padme could still feel the echoing of the force around her neck like hands trying to choke her.
"We'll be on our way in the morning." Padme's hoarse voice croacked out.
After ending the call they gathered little Luke and Leia into their arms and took them to bed. When they shut their eyes, the force lulling them to sleep they didn't realize Little Luke getting up and out of bed.
They didn't hear the packing of clothes, the grab of credits or the sound of the door shutting.
When they woke Little Luke Skywalker couldn't be found. He was gone.

Unrequited love is a real bantha
Angst / Slow burn / Fluff
Pt 1 of You Drew Stars
Everything… Our home… Our lives… It was all gone. Sunk to the bottom of the sea.
Kamino had became a second home to me when I was first assigned to my squad, Clone Force 99. Otherwise known as the bad batch. The council thought my presence would help the team to be less wreckless, but they were once again wrong.
I did my best to take care of my team, to keep them safe with each battle we were faced with. In time they came to feel the same, our once shaky team became a family.
The few years were filled with funny moments and sad ones from losing friends along the way. My life had been as simple as it could be thrust into a war… That is until order 66.
Everything became messy back then. I ran away that day with Kanan as we fled from the clones we once called friends who were hunting us. I managed to get him somewhere safe before our paths parted. It meant what we wanted, the two of us with our only connections to our lives before and the Jedi. I had to leave the young Padawan, the only safest option to keep our identities hidden. I prayed to the force every night that he was safe as I continued to my journey to find my squad. To somehow reason with them… Months passed before I was able to track down my makeshift family.
When I found them in that dingy bar, I couldn’t stop the tears from falling. It was like the missing pieces in my heart were put back together. Hugs and greetings were made and I still remember the shock I felt when Tech gently wrapped his arms around me.
“It’s good to see you again General.”
It was no secret between the squad that I had a particular soft spot for the intelligent clone. It happened slowly through our days of war and the only thing to keep me from curling in on myself were long conversations with him of absolutely anything. Those moments were carried with me in my recent days of being alone.
“I am no longer your General.” I joked.
“Impossible. You will always be our general.” Was his simple reply.
I smiled into his armor, “I missed you to, Tech.”
It didn’t take long to relise that they were on the run from the empire as well. They told me about how they found out chips were implanted in the heads of every clone trooper forcing them to follow order 66. A heavy weight left my chest from hearing that it wasn’t truly them, but returned just the same thinking about all the poor clones out there who have to commit such atrocities… Then they told me about Crosshair and the feeling of pain only grew.
Though I did meet a new friend by the name of Omega. She was a sweet girl with a brilliant mind and I quickly took her under my wing. Absolutely no one would hurt this bright soul.
From that moment on we spent months chasing after adventures throughout the galaxy and working under Sid. Sid however, knew nothing of me being a Jedi and I’d like to keep it that way.
Everything was different, but not different in a bad way. Our family grew closer as we slowly learned what we could be apart from war. Tech and I grew closer, noticed by all especially Wrecker who seemed to tease Tech any chance he got. I still remember the first time I fully opened my grief to Tech.
It was just after Camino being destroyed, Crosshair staying behind once again for his beliefs, destruction surrounded us all. It was odd that it was in that moment that what we have lost hit me in an aching force.
“I can’t breathe.” The words barely got out as I held on one of the crates lodged in the back of the ship, “I can’t-”
Everything was shaking as if an earthquake was occurring in that very room. It wasn’t until later that I realized it was because of me and my heightened emotions causing an imbalance in the force.
“It is quite normal to be experiencing lack of breath do to an accelerated heart rate. By my calculations you are having a panic attack.”
“Tech.” I pleaded with the clone.
“I apologize… I’m afraid the only thing to stop your condition is to get your heart rate down.”
“How?” I cried out, a wooden crate crumbling into pieces on the other side of the wall.
I didn’t notice the way Hunter entered the room or Tech silently nodding at him to wait outside.
“Everything is gone! Our home is gone! My friends are… Crosshair… The Jedi… My master Secura. My force, Master Billaba didn’t deserve to die either! If only I had stayed to help her, but instead I ran. And your home didn’t deserve to be destroyed! Everything! Everything is just… Gone.”
“You are not gone. I am not gone.” He spoke softly, “Neither is Hunter, Omega, Wrecker, Echo, or Crosshair wherever he may be… And you didn’t run. You helped your friend’s padawan escape, you saved that kid.”
My breathing began to slow down as I took in his words. He was right in a way… We were not gone.
“As for our home is not gone either because a place doesn’t make a home-” He took a small breath, “We make each other a home.”
“Tech…” I spoke his name as soft as a gentle breeze.
“Your heart rate seems back to normal. How do you feel?” He asked.
I wiped the sticky tears from my face as I took a breath, “Better.”
I gave him a soft smile, one he returned.
I think that was the moment my heart began to beat a little faster for the tall trooper. He gave me a feeling that I have only ever felt before I was taken in by the council. When I was, but youngling held close to my mother’s side… A feeling of comfort and home.
My feelings only grew stronger from there as I slowly came to the terms that I was in love with Tech… A problem in and of itself and so here I was trying to solve my problems in a bucket of mantell mix.
“I don’t know what to do Hunter.” I sighed, “Jedi were forbidden to form any attachements… But I am no longer a Jedi under the council.”
“You could always just tell him.” He suggested.
“Have you met your brother? I can barely touch him without the poor man freaking out. Imagine just suddenly telling him I like him… He would go into shock! No, I need to do this slowly… Ease into it maybe?”
“That seems… Stupid.” He chuckled and I followed it with a sigh.
“It’s the only option I have. I don’t want to ruin our friendship by suddenly confessing and I don’t even know if he likes me back yet.” My shoulders slumped, “Oh my force, what if he doesn’t even like me back?”
“I highly doubt that.” Hunter muttered under his breath.
“Come again?” I asked not hearing him.
“Nothing.” Hunter shook his head as he stood up, “Why don’t you try openly showing how you feel and see if he returns it.”
My brows furrowed, “Like flirting?”
Hunter nodded, “Yeah. Although I think it’s stupid to not just admit your feelings, but it’ll give you confidence and when you feel comfortable to confess, do it.”
Wreckers voice echoed throughout the cantina signaling their arrival.
“Oh look who’s back.” Hunter smirked as he patted my shoulder as he left, “Good luck.”
I took a breath before sliding off my stool to greet the other half of our team. I slid in beside Tech, his eyes barely glancing up from his holopad.
“General.” He greeted with ease.
“Tech.” I mused as I carefully pushed the holopad down from where he had it so close to his face.
I could see the confusion and slight embarrassment in his eyes, “How was the mission? I have no doubt you handled it perfectly as you always do, yes?”
“Ah…” He trailed off and I could see his nervousness already starting to rise and I hadn’t even touched him yet.
It was honestly adorable in a way that embodies Tech. I waited patiently for his response in no means of retreating. He was just about to answer just as Omega wrapped me up in a hug.
“You wouldn’t believe the adventure we had!” She smiled as I returned her hug, “There was this huge sea beast and Tech whipped the ship so fast it we almost crashed into a cliff!”
“You what?” Hunter stepped in causing Omega to pull away from and towards him.
“I wouldn’t say crash. I had everything perfectly under control.” Tech intervened.
“Yeah!” She grinned.
“Tech crashing? I’d never believe that.” I glanced back up at Tech with a cheeky grin.
“Indeed.” Tech’s lips twitched upward slightly in return.
If anyone would ask me describe Tech’s eyes. I would say it felt like the warmest of hugs when he would wrap me into his gaze. I thought maybe… Just maybe…
We could be.
“Say… Do you want to go get something to eat?” I asked him hoping that he would agree and we could get some time alone.
“Oh I’m starving! But only if you’re cooking!” Wrecker boomed.
I couldn’t even be angry at the big teddy bear when he rubbed his stomach as if he hadn’t eaten in weeks. Even though I know fully well that they are because, I made them the food.
I let out a breathy laugh, “Well we should get going then.”
Our family was crazy messy and dramatic, but it was perfect… Until it wasn’t.
“Before you guys go I have another mission for you! It involves one of my informants.” Sid waved at us to follow her into her office.
As we walked by the bar, I grabbed my mantel mix and handed it to Omega so that she could have something to snack on before dinner.
“Thank you!” She accepted the treat, happily shoving a handful in her mouth and passing the box to Wrecker so he could eat.
“She’s going to turn into Wrecker with her eating habits.” Tech sighed.
“I don’t know… She has quite a bit of each of your personalities.” I smiled gently at him as we entered the office, “If it’s any consolation, I like your personality the best.”
He fixed his glasses nervously, “I am intelligent so it’s only natural that you would think so.”
“I wouldn’t see it any other way.” I replied.
“Well now that you’re all here, this is my informant.” Sid motioned to the chair and we all directed our attention to the beautiful woman sitting in it.
“The name’s Phee.” She grinned.

Crosshair’s hands didn’t shake when his mind was preoccupied. And right now, he was preoccupied by combat with his brother Echo.
Crosshair sat folded in concentration, elbows resting on his knees, mulling over the next possible Dejarik moves. Echo was sitting across from him, just as engaged as the sniper, though Crosshair couldn’t tell if his yawns were genuine exhaustion or a mediocre attempt to rush his turn. Either way, Crosshair wasn’t going to pass up a chance to win because somebody was trying to end the game quickly.
“C’mon, Cross. If you could manage a move during this rotation, I’d appreciate it.” The former ARC trooper quipped.
“Relax. I’m thinking,” he said in mild annoyance. “Nothing wrong with being careful and taking one’s time.” Crosshair hit a button on the board, causing the holo to shift as his character sauntered over and slayed Echo’s main player, leaving the match at a checkmate. “See? Patience is a virtue.” He said, smug with victory.
“Yeah, one of your only ones, too,” Echo shot back with a smile, pressing the shut-off button on the entertainment table. Crosshair couldn’t help the small smirk that crept onto his face. Echo stood up and extended his good arm out across the dark table for a handshake. “Good game, as usual, Crosshair.”
Crosshair took his brother’s hand, and they shook. As Echo walked away to his bunk, Crosshair sat back down, massaging his hand at the palm. His hands didn’t shake when his mind was thinking about a task at hand, but once it was quiet, it was all he could do to keep them still. He held his hands out in front of him, watching them twitch. He squeezed them into fists in an attempt to calm the shot nerves and shut them out from his mind. Crosshair leaned back into his chair and shoved his still lightly trembling hands deep into his pockets. This was not an attempt to keep them steady but rather if they were out of sight, they were out of mind. And for the most part, it worked.
It was unusual for the ship to be as quiet as it was. Hunter and Wrecker took Omega out to the Pabu market before it shut down for the day so they could grab some dinner for the crew. Since being informally stationed on Pabu for the past month or so, Wrecker had acquired quite an affinity for cooking and Omega was more than eager to help him. Each night, they came home with a new recipe from a local vendor. And before Eriadu, anybody within a 20 foot radius of The Marauder could’ve heard Tech’s tinkering, but ever since…
No. He wouldn’t think about that. He couldn’t. Not without completely breaking down. Crosshair was still a soldier. Whether he was tied to the Republic, the Empire, or to his brothers, he had to be strong. But, ever since Omega saved him from Mount Tantiss, from Hemlock’s unending torture, Crosshair had trouble finding it in himself to return to the steadfast man he once was. Things weren’t as black and white as he had once believed them to be. His brief loyalty to the Empire was misplaced, he knew that now. Maybe had he stayed true to his brothers, Tech would still be alive. He didn’t deserve that fate– nobody did. Not when Crosshair could have prevented it. Had he not chosen to be a “good soldier” for the Empire’s evil. Crosshair couldn’t help but feel like it was all his fault. Omega’s capture. Tech’s death. And the worst part was that they all held him with kiddie gloves, like he was made of glass, destined to shatter at any moment.
Crosshair could feel the headache coming. He stood up and opened the hatch of their home. The wind rushed in, whipping the scent of the salty sea around him. It was humid, but not oppressive. He hoped the fresh air would clear his mind. Making his way down the loading ramp and onto the weathered cobblestone of the island’s square, he could hear the people of Pabu in the lower levels starting to call their children in for dinner. Thankfully, due to pleasant weather, the market was taking place on the beach, far below where the Marauder was parked atop the island. The pinnacle was mostly empty, so Crosshair didn’t have to be greeted by the well-meaning citizens. He kept walking until he reached the lookout point not far from the ship.
The sun had already begun dipping into the vast, dark sea as it painted the sky in all its deserving beauty. Scattered across the strip of beach, Crosshair could see vendors beginning to flip on their candleorbs.
He pulled his rifle from behind his back and placed it into position against his shoulder as he’d done a thousand times before. Making sure the safety was on before pointing it down towards the beach, he peered into the scope, looking for his family. It wasn’t hard to spot the crew, as they were a stark contrast from the linen-clothed locals. That paired with Wrecker’s resonant voice, which could probably carry across the planet, made them easy to find.
Through the viewfinder, he could see Omega reaching into a basket for a fruit he had never seen before, her mouth moving. She turned around to show Hunter the new food and he smiled at her, dropping a few coins of the Pabuian currency into her free hand.
Crosshair didn’t realize he was smiling at the scene. He was glad she was safe now. Maker knows she deserved to be. Especially after everything the child had to endure.
He continued to trail the scope along until he found Wrecker, not far ahead. He was practically towering over all the booths. Crosshair tried to use the scope’s zooming feature to see what he was holding, but at such a distance, it was hard to tell.
The rifle began to tremble slightly in the sniper’s hands. He furrowed his brows in concentration and tried to hold his position as rigid as he could, but it was no use. He ripped his face away from the scope and held the rifle out in front of him in frustration. All he saw in his hands was his mistakes. He unlatched the scope and tore it from the barrel before brashly throwing it off the ledge of the lookout. Crosshair wouldn’t dare to damage his precious weapon, but he couldn’t bear to look at the scope any longer. Once he heard the distant clink of metal against the climbing stairs of Pabu, he laid the weapon on the stone wall, his hand lingering with regret for a second longer.
He turned back toward the Marauder and began to walk away. He didn’t want it in his sight anymore but, as a formally trained sniper, it was hard not to be in his sight. The very thing that he had found security in as a cadet now made him shameful. The very purpose he was created for was stripped from his identity without remorse by the Empire. What’s the use in having a weapon if you can’t protect your family?
Thankfully, as Crosshair approached the loading ramp, he could tell by the light snoring coming from Echo’s bunk, that his brother was napping soundly. He pulled out a toothpick from his chest pocket as he made his way to the cockpit. He didn’t like being alone so much anymore, so he lifted his feet up onto the dash, careful to avoid any switches that might start the engine and tried to follow in Echo’s footsteps for a nap.
He had just about nodded off when Batcher’s quick footsteps disturbed the quiet evening. Crosshair lifted a single lid and squinted out of the viewport and saw Omega riding atop Batcher, the pair headed for The Marauder. Besides clutching Batcher’s fur, she had a cylindrical object in her right hand.
Crosshair took his feet down and sat up to open the loading bay door for Omega.
“Cross!” She called frantically. “Cross where are you?”
“I’m here, Omega.” He said, meeting her at the door. “What’s wrong?”
She wrapped her arms tightly around his waist, burying her face into his torso. He gingerly laid a hand on her shoulder and knelt down to meet her at eye-level as she pulled away. She looked deeply into his eyes, her own filled with concern.
“I thought something had happened to you!” Her eyes had begun to fill with tears and her face started to flush pink.
“No, I’m alright. Why would you think that?” He asked.
Omega swiped at her tears with the back of her hand before offering up the scope he had thrown away. She opened her hand flat. The black metal was scratched and the glass inside had shattered. “I thought maybe somebody had taken you.”
Crosshair placed his hand over hers, wrapping her fingers back around the scope and lowering it in rejection. “No. I don’t want that.”
“What do you mean?” Omega said with a sniff.
“I can’t do that. Not anymore.” He said shortly. He didn’t want to bring up Tech. He didn’t want to explain his feelings of inadequacy to her. Not when she was the one who had saved him in the first place. It should have been him. He should have been the one to save her. He was pathetic and he knew everybody around him thought that, too.
“I understand, Crosshair.” She started. “You feel like you don’t have a purpose anymore. I used to feel that way, back on Kamino.”
She took his hand and they sat, leaning against the navicomp on the floor together. “I always wondered why I was different from the other clones. I wasn’t trained like everybody else, but nobody would explain my purpose to me.”
“Omega, I-“ Crosshair tried to escape the conversation.
“No, let me finish.” She interrupted, and he shut his mouth.
“All of you had a clear purpose. The Kaminoans designed you that way. But me? There was nothing special about me. I’m not a sharpshooter and I don’t have heightened senses. I’m definitely not as big as Wrecker and nobody is as smart as Tech was.’
Crosshair winced at the sound of his fallen brother’s name.
“But then I finally met you all, my brothers! And I realized what my purpose was. It may not be what they created me for on Kamino, but I know it to be true in my heart. My purpose is to protect my brothers. To protect you,” she explained.
Crosshair could feel the sting of his tears as they started to fall down his slender face.
“Omega,” he began softly, “I’m so sorry. For everything."
The tears wouldn't stop. She pulled him in for a hug and he let her. The two sat together as Crosshair silently let the emotions wash over him. And Omega let him. She knew Crosshair had not come to terms with everything he went through on Tantiss or with the Empire. But, she was observant and saw how his hands would tremble if he didn’t keep himself busy. She knew he needed this and she also knew he wouldn’t confide in any of their brothers like this. Even Batcher sensed something was wrong and came over to lay her head in Crosshair’s lap.
After a couple of minutes, Crosshair pulled away and straightened against the ship. He cleared his throat and looked down at Omega. She was smiling sweetly at him. Not with pity, but with understanding. With her signature kindness. Batcher hopped up and tried to lick his face, pulling them out of the moment.
“Batcher, that is truly disturbing,” Crosshair said in disgust as he tried to shove her off.
Omega laughed and Crosshair smiled.
“When did you get so wise?” He asked the young girl.
“Since I became a big sister!” She joked.
Hunter and Wrecker showed up not long after, arms full with their food supplies for the night. Wrecker had also managed grab a bag of Mantell Mix to split with Omega. If they didn’t have anything to munch on while making dinner, there would be no dinner to speak of.
“So, I guess you’re okay, then,” Hunter said, vaguely gesturing to Crosshair with his hand.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just… having a rough go of it, I suppose.” Crosshair answered. It was slightly more information than he would typically give away about his emotional state. Hunter knew well enough not to push him.
“Well good,” Wrecker chimed in. “‘Cuz I’m starving!”
“I’ll wake up Echo so we can get started!” Omega hopped up from the floor and rushed over to his bunk. The rest of the crew headed outside to start the fire.
The saturated colors of sunset were still stretched across the sky as the sun continued to pass behind the horizon. That was one of Pabu’s specialties. Due to the atmosphere and the reflections off the ocean, the sunsets lasted much longer than it did on any other planet the Bad Batch had ever been to.
Crosshair walked back out to the lookout once more to retrieve his rifle. He couldn’t leave it. For as much grief as it was giving him, he would always come back to it. He had no other choice. He slung it back over his shoulder and returned to the group to help prep their dinner.
As dinner waned into the evening, the stars crept upon the little family. They all crowded around the fire and told funny stories to Omega about each other from their time serving the Republic. And Echo had plenty from when he was still with the 501st. The little clone intentionally sat next to Crosshair during dinner to give him a prevailing sense of comfort over his anxieties.
“And so I said to Cross,” Hunter said, finishing his story between chuckles, “Cross, that’s a Tooka!”
The crew burst into laughter at the story.
“Did you really think it was a battle droid?” Omega asked her seatmate in disbelief.
“Unfortunately, yes...” He trailed off.
“Alright,” Echo began. “The fire is dying and we should probably head in soon. Hunter and I will clean up since Wrecker, Omega, and Cross made dinner.”
“Thanks, Echo!” She beamed at him.
“Yeah, thanks!” Wrecker said as he slapped Echo’s back in gratitude.
It was probably a little harder than he meant as Echo stumbled forward. He turned his head to give Wrecker a dirty look. The biggest batcher just shrugged sheepishly.
“Come with me, Crosshair. I want to look at the stars over the lookout.” Omega requested.
Crosshair picked up their dishes and handed them to Hunter, nodding in thanks. The pair made their way to the lookout point.
The stars were in full view, brilliantly shining in every color imaginable. This was something neither of them would ever get used to.
Crosshair held out his hand to Omega so she could climb onto the wall. She smiled up at him and took it gladly. She swept her legs over the side and tilted her head up to the sky, eyes wide in wonder. She kept her eyes on the sky but Crosshair was watching her.
He hadn’t ever been one to talk much, even before all the events that transpired, but he didn’t think he would ever find enough of or the right kind of words to tell Omega how thankful he was for her.
He lifted a leg over the wall and sidled up to his sister, wrapping his arm around her protectively.
Omega wouldn’t always be a child, and she certainly wouldn’t need her brothers to protect her forever. But, looking into the galaxy here, together, Crosshair resolved his new purpose. He would make the galaxy a safer place. For her.
