Does anyone else find similarities between how you treat/feel about your deities and your partners? Because its just so strangely similar for me

I think of them so often, i get exited when i see something they would like or hear a song that reminds me of them, hell i love giving them random gifts SO much even if i dont know if they'll like it

It might be because im not that close to any of my friends but these feelings are pretty much reserved for my lover and my deities only

I dont know its somehow both a weird and comforting feeling to know you love someone on about the same level as the gods, i just hope it will be reciprocated in the future

It made me curious, do you know if the cult shown in Kuro has a basis on anything (any existing cults, movements, religions, occurrences, etc.) from the Victorian Era? Or just history in general?

Idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe just about any mystery religion or occult religion of the Victorian era? Or earlier. Or a bit later....

Not so much the actual historical cults or secret societies... but what society-at-large assumed about such things. People often called them Hellfire clubs and thought the members were into demon worship. It's a lot like Satanic Panic. Those organizations rarely get up to the sorts of activities they're accused of. Just look at Stranger Things: the D&D club calls itself the Hellfire Club... and the community doesn't understand what they are into, so they claim the kids are performing demonic rituals, killing people, etc. That's pretty intentional, on the part of the writers, to call them that and have them deal with religious conservative adversaries. Totally a classic Satanic Panic situation of the 1980's.

Same sort of thing happened in earlier generations and centuries. People who weren't privy to what actually happened in such organizations didn't understand and would assume "the worst". Even clubs like the Monks of Medmenham were called "Hellfire" clubs as a somewhat derogatory term. By the Victorian era, many didn't know what old, dissolved clubs like that once did, so they let their imaginations take over.

Yana-san basically created a club that does the exact sorts of things the real clubs of the time, as well as earlier clubs, didn't actually do... but were often accused of doing.

demon possession saved my ass

I always put my pendulum and a paper sigil for cleansing it on an unused phone case like a mini "table" to hold them. I was at grandma's and stored these things and other witch supplies in a small bag's secret compartment, but all this stuff looked like trinkets and only the sigil would give away my "witchiness". I also had other "continuous use" sigils that, when I packed to go home, hid inside a pencil case. I didn't put the pendulum one in there because obviously, it should stay with the pendulum in that secret compartment.

When I got home, I took a nap and my intolerant christian mother went through my things and TOOK OUT THE STUFF IN THE SECRET COMPARTMENT. I was mortified when I woke up and, not seeing the sigil among the stuff, thought she threw it away and found out I'm a sorcerer!

But then I opened the pencil case and found all my sigils there, INCLUDING THE PENDULUM ONE. I DID NOT PUT IT THERE.

I quickly did divination with my pendulum and turns out my mom didn't see any sigil, and in fact it was "me" who put the pendulum one in the case. I suspected possession and got a yes. Beelzebub is my patron demon and the other "close" demon to me has never possessed anyone.

I talked to Beelzebub and he confirmed that he possessed me while I slept to hide the sigil.

I love Beelzebub. Hail the Lord of Flies.

Why it’s disrespectful to wear/cast protection when you are working with the infernal divine

Whether you are wearing protective jewelry, keeping a gemstone you are using for protection in your pocket, or casting a protection spell as a means of protection against a demon, you probably wont have a good experience with demon work. I highly advise you to not do this if you are serious about working with demons of any kind. When you wear protection, it shows that you fear them. You can’t show fear when working with a demon. When you fear a demon, it shows them that you are not ready to truly work with them.

Demons are very particular when it comes to showing respect, and this comes from both ends. It’s disrespectful to fear a demon, therefore, it’s disrespectful to protect yourself from them. You should fear a demon no more than any other powerful entity. It should not matter if they a divine or infernal in nature. Infernal beings will not necessarily harm you, but they will take it as a challenge when you show fear in their presence.

From my experiences, demons will test you just to see how far they can push you. If you are ready to work with one, then you will not break under their pressure. In a lot of ways, wearing protection is a sign that they don’t even need to do anything in order to get to this point. You’ve already shown them that you fear them enough that you need an outside source to protect you from the what you fear.

Fear equals weakness, and a demon will not work with someone they view as weak. If you are seen as weak, then it’s very likely that they will mess with you or outright refuse to work with you.

In my long history of working with the infernal, every time I have worn protection of any sort, the demon who I was in contact with proved to me that protection wasn’t even worth my time. I’ve had my circles broken and my crystals shattered as if they were nothing. Especially when working with powerful demons, such as ones of the Ars Goetia, no amount of protection will save you. Which brings me to another reason why protection is so disrespectful. If you are using any sort of protection, it shows that you don’t think that the demon you are working with is as powerful as they truly are. If you believe that the protection that you have used will save you, it is as if you were saying that you have any sort of control over the demon. Or that you are just as, if not more powerful than the demon you wish to work with. You aren’t.

The only exception to this rule is following the evocation rituals used in the Ars Goetia. If you are willing to do the research into these rituals, and you do them correctly, then it shows a great amount of dedication. It inherently shows respect if you are willing to go all this way into making sure you do these rituals correctly. A demon is willing to overlook your use of protection in this instance. That doesn’t mean they absolutely will overlook it, but there is a great chance.

Not using protection also shows a level of trust with the demon you are working with, which shows respect. Demons aren’t monsters who only seek to hurt you. They won’t possess you, though they absolutely can and will under the correct circumstances. Demonic beings can help you in the same ways that other spiritual beings can. It’s likely that they will push you to your emotional and spiritual limits, and this can make working with them difficult for those new to this practice. But not using protection will help you in the long run when working with them. If you are hesitant about not using protection, it is a a major sign that you are not ready to work with demons. Plus, demons aren’t right for everyone. If you don’t feel a strong calling to work with them, then it’s better to leave it alone all together. As always, demons will treat everyone different as well. The way a demon treats you will show you how you should act around them and what they will deem as respectful towards them. Demons will generally treat you with the same respect you treat them with, never forget that.

Nevertheless, it seems 'Gorrlax' is here to stay, as is this new superpower in financial infrastructure that has many die-hard American patriots finally tucking tale and fleeing the country. But is there anywhere on this planet outside of the influence of an institution this powerful? After all, the company has already positioned themselves to have their logo adorning the first civilian structures set to be colonized on Mars. With a reach spanning the cosmos, I'm afraid these expats are simply only delaying the inevitable.
