how is the ofmd fandom coping with the fact that Izzy Enjoyers were right about literally everything and the first three eps are just The Izzy Hands Show? I've peeked at Izzy hate blogs and have been amused that it seems like they're just pretending none of those scenes happened and are just latching onto the one Stede/Ed scene while ignoring. literally everything we just saw

Why You Should Watch 君子盟 (张公案) | A League of Nobleman
Firstly yes it’s nobleman with an ‘a’ i.e. singular for some reason but yes unfortunately that’s the case.
Secondly yes this had multiple other names while it was still locked up in tencent storage but we finally have something, and a note that it’s loosely based on the novel 张公案 but there’s been a bit of drama between the author and the drama production, and in any case, the cases differ quite a bit. You can say we have a Chenghua’s 14th Year situation here where it’s closely related but veered off the original at some point to varying effects.
Tumblr media
Summary:
Zhang Ping is a poor, orphaned scholar who has to sell noodles part-time to make ends meet. He has a brain for logical deduction and is personally smart with quite a good memory. He is selling noddles at his stall as usual and minding his own damn business when Lan Jue, a high-ranking officer second only to the Minister of the Ministry of Rites, uses him as a distraction in a case. Lan Jue is the son of an official who was framed 20 years ago for treason, and he has to become Minister of Rites in order to get closer to the truth of his father’s unjust death, but his status as the son of a guilty man means that no one wants to recommend and support him to become Minister of Rites. Moreover, he’s been in contact with an enemy state, the state that his father went to before his death - but the letters are intercepted by the other person who’s in line to become Minister of Rites as well. The other official sets up a case to frame Lan Jue for treason and to push him out of the running for Minister, and Zhang Ping, who’s dragged into this unexpectedly, cannot help but interrupt to solve the case(s) that happen.
Tumblr media
Initially, it’s Lan Jue against Zhang Ping, as while Lan Jue isn’t a bad guy, he has laid a lot of groundwork and plans behind the scenes and Zhang Ping who looks at everything in black and white, and insists on pushing for justice no matter the situation, is a hindrance to his plans. Slowly, through each case and being stuck with each other, Lan Jue realizes that he’s strayed too far from the path that his father once wanted him to be on, and the person he originally was, all to set up ruse after ruse to get to what he wants. Albeit he is justified in doing so as he desperately wants to clear his father’s name, but it takes Zhang Ping and a teacher of his to remind Lan Jue that no matter what, he cannot break the law for his own personal motivations.
Tumblr media
Once they come to an understanding, Zhang Ping also realizes that Lan Jue and his friend Mo Wen are excluding him firstly to keep him safe, but also because Zhang Ping cannot seem to understand that there’s a time and place for everything, and his insistence at immediately solving crimes and cases especially when they’re targeted at Lan Jue and the treason case 20 years ago, will undo all the work he’s put in so far. So Zhang Ping decides to help Lan Jue, and promises that he knows what he’s doing this time if he’s involved.
Together, they unravel the truth behind Lan Jue’s father’s death, along with Zhang Ping’s noodle store colleague and Lan Jue’s only good friend, Mo Wen.

Why You Should Watch:
(1) ERM BROMANCE AND AN OT3 SHOULD ALWAYS BE A REASON TO WATCH ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE ALL GUYS???
Between Lan Jue and his friend Mo Wen: “Between you and I there is no need for thanks”
Tumblr media
“I could handle it by myself but SOMEONE just had to ‘save’ me so I would have to owe him a favour”
Tumblr media
Fainting Zhang Ping and Lan Jue being all !!!!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND everyone rushes to Lan Jue’s house to give him gifts on 粽子节 because they wanna curry favours with him, and Zhang Ping is the only one who gives him proper dumplings.
“No matter how big or small the gift, I cannot accept them.”
And then Zhang Ping gives the dumplings to Chen Chou, not knowing that Mr. Lan would walk away and run back to his stall to find him and ask for his dumplings under the table, but they were gone by then
Tumblr media
And what’s a bromance without a premature divorce right (Lan Jue stabs Zhang Ping, they agonize in the rain)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
+ Yes Lan Jingyi is in this as Chen Chou and he’s fucking hilarious
Tumblr media
(2) Also Lan Jue and Zhang Ping Face-Offs + COMEDIC MOMENTS APLENTY
“You’re a scholar but you’re selling noodles here, are you perhaps facing some difficulty?” “Because I’m poor.”
Tumblr media
“You’re not here to save him?” “No I’m not, I’m going now”
Lan Jue stuck with a noose around his neck and wolves waiting to eat him and Zhang Ping be like all nope not saving ya
Tumblr media
Zhang Ping pronounced dead and then sits up in bed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zhang Ping using the dates that are placed in the toilet to get rid of bad scents into the porridge he serves Lan Jue
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(3) THE CINEMATOGRAPHY IS GORGEOUS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
IS THIS A DANMEI/DANGAI?
No, it’s not, according to the author. The original novel had a lot of bromance and hinted at a relationship, but the author has specifically said this is no CP, not a danmei and the production itself should not even be considered a dangai (but the production went ahead and advertised it as such anyway and we all know how that turned out). She was pretty mad when she wrote the clarification post cuz people were asking her to put it under danmei classification on JJWXC. BUT Zhang Ping and Lan Jue can be seen as more than bros for sure.

HOW TO STEAL A MAN part 1
Bakugou Katsuki/Midoriya Izuku, Toga Himiko/Uraraka Ochako, Kaminari Denki/Kirishima Eijirou

Single father Katsuki.
His son is 5 and a rascal that thinks he should have a lover because "Dada looks lonely."
His son ran off one day at the mall and after a panicked search the boy came back dragging someone in his tiny hands.
"Dada this one! This one, I found you a love love."
Katsuki sees shining emerald eyes and dusting of cocoa on cheeks
Katsuki sees Deku and wants to faint.
Deku was his first love, a love since kindergarten that never came to be. Especially since Deku migrated to America after they graduated college.
So back then Katsuki took whatever he could since he couldn't have Deku's love.
His sperm.
Katsuki had so secretly stolen sperm from Deku and brought it to a surrogate to have Deku's child.
Now here was Deku back after 5 years.
He was fucked for three good reasons, so so fucked because,
1 - his child looked so happy holding Deku's hand.
2 - Seeing Deku again after a long time made him realize he was still so in love with the damn nerd.
3 - Deku is already married.
He was standing behind the ice cream booth that had 201 flavors while in his hand was the god forsaken flavor of spicy chocolate mint cream that his son loves so much. The stuffed rabbit backpack that was too small and too tight over his shoulder looked so out of place along with the ice cream on him. There were the toilet papers on his other hand too.
To be fair Katsuki did not look his best today. It's supposed to be just a trip to the mall to buy toilet paper and some ice cream as per his son's request. Just an ordinary day, supposed to be an ordinary day.
So he wore his comfortable off white t-shirt that was already baconed on the collar and sleeves and his faded khaki cargo shorts, and the finale was the gift from Kirishima, red crocs shoes on his sock feet.
In short he looked like a disaster. At least his son looked cute in his black shirt under an orange overall.
Of all the days that he isn't in his suit and tie and leather shoes it had to be the day his son dragged his wet dream back into his life.
Deku. fucking Midoriya Izuku is hand in hand with his son. Fucking Midoriya Izuku at 5’11, in a tight black turtle neck long sleeve shirt and equally tight denim jeans. His wavy green hair in an undercut.
If Katsuki thought of him as a wet dream back in college then today it's a raging flood of a fantasy!
But his libido wasn't the main problem as of now. It's the fact that his son is with his biological dad! The one who Katsuki stole his sperm from!
Plus he looks like shit infront of his long time crush for fucks sake!
Katsuki is sweating buckets.
“Dada, I found you a love love!” His son, Kiyoshi, repeated, large red eyes shining and his freckled cheeks in a light blush on how happy he is.
“Love love? Well, aren't you cute for a kidnapper?”
Katsuki's knees buckled at the sweet yet deep voice, like smooth honey whiskey going down his throat and going right down his whole body. It's been so long since he heard that voice. Why the fuck is he salivating?
“You shouldn't be giving your dada any problems, little guy.” Deku kneels in front of Kiyoshi, patting his head with his big scarred hands.
Deku hasn't seen him yet.
Maybe if he grabs his son and runs like mad he can save himself.
“Let's go say sorry to your dad now.” Deku stood up and faced him and those emerald eyes grew wide.
It was too late.
“Kacchan?”
Deku saw him in all his ugly glory.
Fuck. Great tutuly dudally fuck.
“Deku.” The name slips out of his mouth easily.
“Hi. It's been so long.” Still holding Kiyohi's hand, Deku walks towards him, it was a picture scene. Green wavy hair with blonde wavy hair, green doe eyes with red doe eyes and the same flock of freckles on fair skin, hand and hand walking towards him.
It was overwhelming.
Deku was in front of him now, Katsuki felt giddy. He likes to deny the fact that he is thrilled that he was still taller than Deku by half a head.
“How have you been?” He asked, looking up at Katsuki with the happiest smile.
“I'm good.” He could only reply courtly, scared that he might blurt out something wrong. He hopes his expression was giving him away.
“Yeah I can see that.” Deku says, still not removing eye contact.
Katsuki winces at his comment. What part of him looked good damn it. If anyone looks good here it's Deku and damn does he look way too fine.
Their eyes are stuck on each other, drawn in as if they were the only ones in the world.
Time seemed to have stopped as he stared into those deep pools of liquid emerald eyes.
“Dada?”
The small voice cut them off whatever trance they had.
Deku looks down at the small hand tugging at him. Katsuki could have sworn there was a flicker in his eyes. On edge and muscles tense, Katsuki becomes nervous. Did Deku notice? Did he figure it out?
“So this is your son?” Deku asked, bending down and lifting up the small child into his arms. Katsuki felt his heart constrict painfully just looking at them. There was something growing inside, something heavy and bitter, guilt.
“Yeah! I’m Dada’s but with no Mama! So Dada is lonely, so mister needs to be with dada so he won't be lonely!” Kiyoshi lifts his hands up in declaration in a loud voice.
“Oi brat!” Katsuki reprimanded his son, his face was burning red from embarrassment.
He takes him from Deku’s arms and scolds him but the small child just huffed.
“But it's true. Dada is lonely.”
“Where did you learn to talk back?”
The two bickered back and forth like both were like small children.
There was a melodious sound of laughter coming just beside him. Deku was laughing hard, almost hunched over holding his stomach.
“He’s definitely your son Kacchan. He’s just like you.” Straightening himself up and wiping the tears from laughter from his eyes;
Deku pats Kiyoshi’s fluffy head. Kiyoshi preens at the attention.
The weird flicker in Deku's eyes was gone, he seems to be more happy after all that laughter.
“Mister mister I like you! I think Dada will like you too so you need to-mmph.” Katsuki stops his sons from talking,
muffling his mouth gently as he could but god damn it why is his child such a loud mouth?
"Ok." He says with a drawn out voice. "It was nice seeing yah but we gotta go. This guy needs to poop. So bye." Katsuki hurriedly turns around, not caring for Kiyoshi's muffled protest
and not even looking at Deku's eyes as he tries to speed walk away from his biggest problem.
"Kacchan wait!"
Katsuki does not. He walks faster.
It should be fine. Deku would probably go back to the US soon and they won't meet up every again.
It hurts to think about it but it would be a disaster if he stayed.
"I've transferred back here for work. So I hope I'll be seeing you often, Kacchan!"
Oh fuck. Great tutuly dudally fuck.
-
-
She just wanted to enjoy her fresh hot Takoyaki. Delicious Takoyaki. Just what she wanted and just what she craved. It was the last piece.
Picking it up with her chopsticks towards her awaiting mouth. A perfect treat.
Her door flew open with a bang.
"Ochako!"
"Ahhhhh!"
Bang went to the door and bang went over her nerves from too much coffee this morning. Up her Tokoyaki went to the ceiling and stayed there like a half disco ball of carbs and octopus meat.
The two people stare at the new decor impassively then stare at each other.
"You owe me."
"Whatever! I have a bigger problem!"
What could be more of a bigger problem than her food!
"You owe me an order of Takoyaki!"
"Alright alright! I'll buy you one later. Just listen to me!"
"No later. Now!" She was really pissed. That was her last ball with the biggest piece of octopus and the most sauce!
"Oh my god, fine. It's just at the corner anyway. Just listen, yah."
They walked out of her house. Ochaco was still angry and puffed her cheeks.
She really wanted that last price but instantly felt better at the prospect of a new batch.
"So what's this all about barging into my place?" He asked as they were about to make a turn at a corner.
There was a deep exhale and that's when Ochaco knew this wasn't just something trivial.
"He's back."
"Huh?"
"Deku's back!" Her best friend Bakugou Katsuki almost screamed.
Stopped, frozen and wide eyed.
"No."
"Yes."
"Oh my god. You are fucked! And I don't mean it in the oohh ahhhh kind!"
"Shut up!"
Ohhh but how could she shut up? Katsuki was having a life crisis while Ochako… Ochaco was having the time of her life!
"I told you this was gonna bite you back in the ass!"
She had long warned him way back after Katsuki suddenly barged into her home with an ice box and eyes crazy wide.
///"I stole his sperm!"///
Damn if that didn't traumatize her. Thank heavens she vehemently refused to be the surrogate mom for his craziness.
The surrogate was someone abroad that this crazy ass rich bastard paid millions on.
But don't get her wrong, she loves Kiyoshi with all her heart but damn if she hadn't been waiting for this moment to arrive.
"I told you so."
Oh how it felt good to finally say those words. She is having a blast.
"Shut up. I thought this was never going to happen!"
Ochaco beckoned Katsuki to start walking again. He still owes Takoyaki after a.
"Pfft. Now what are you going to do? He's married already isn't he?"
"That's what I heard. Ochako I-"
"Kacchan."
Kacchan?
Ochaco sees Katsuki turn deathly pale then to a light pink, pink, darker pink to a deep blush.
She looked straight ahead and just before the Takoyaki booth was a man so fine she wanted to sing a damn gravy tik tok song out loud.
Wait, did Katsuki just say Deku?
Her round eyes were about to bulge out of their sockets. This guy was Midoriya Izuku a.k.a. Deku.
No wonder he stole sperm from this guy! He's hot as fuck. Ochaco would too if she wasn't a full out lesbian.
"You're here for Takoyaki too? The booth is still here after all these years huh. Just like back in highschool we used to eat here often."
The Deku guy passed by Ochaco and went straight for Katsuki. It was like he didn't see him at all.
"Deku." Was all Katsuki said. Ochaco stared hard at the wobbly expression her best friend had. She wished she could take a photo but she left her phone at home. Damn.
"I didn't get to ask earlier but I was wondering if you would have dinner with me this Friday? Just to catch up on everything."
She saw how Katsuki's normal mean eyes were wide like saucers.
"You can bring Kiyoshi with you. He is so adorable."
How his brows shut up and how the normal loud and rude Katsuki was silent with his long term crush being so near. It was a disaster.
Ochaco was living for it. Her smile was so self satisfied.
"Can we Kacchan? For old times sake?"
Katsuki was about to faint. Deku grabbed his hands with his own.
"Please." And gave him the puppy dog eyes.
He was doomed.
He nodded.
He was so fucking doomed.
"Thank you Kacchan." Deku still hasn't let go of Katsuki's hand, instead he gave him a brightest purest smile.
Ochaco and Katsuki were blinded. Damn gravy so clean and delicious! Oh but this one does have a missus. Too bad.
Ochaco will just have to appreciate the disaster truck of her best friend as it is.
"Oh you have someone with you."
Deku finally notices her and all she could do was smile even though she was completely ignored just earlier.
"I'm Midoriya Izuku and you are?" Deku raised his hand to shake in introduction.
"Ah I am-"
"She's Uraraka Ochaco!"
Ochaco had pulled away and was now in front of Katsuki as he had grabbed her arms. Showing her off to Deku like some kind of livestock.
"She's Kiyoshi's mom! So she has to come with us to dinner with Kiyoshi!"
The Takoyaki vendor dropped a ball on the pavement. So did Ochako's jaw.
She was frozen but slowly her head turned behind Katsuki, her soon to be ex best friend
The guy just mouthed sorry at her.
"Oh. I see."
She turns back to the sound of Deku and froze up like a rock during winter.
His bright green eyes have turned dark all the while looking at her. What is that?!
Oh great tutuly dudally fuck.
She is going to kill Katsuki.

Tumblr media
Park Serim was someone you truly despised.
The boy seemed to have it all: the looks, the smarts, the friends and even the surprisingly down-to-earth personality. You had lived in the same affluent neighbourhood where every family had at least one politician, doctor, lawyer, businessman, entrepreneur or heir to a conglomerate living under the posh roof of their mansion, and you were no exception. What complicated things was that your father and Serim’s father worked in the same industry, in pretty much the same position, and their companies were neck-to-neck in a constant battle. No wonder you two were destined to be rivals from the very start, especially because you were the same age.
You had both excelled at school, but what had fuelled your determination had been the pressure from your parents, not from him. In fact, he had never made a comment on the tense relationship between your parents, had never pointed out if he had scored one more point than you on a test, if he had earned a compliment from a teacher when you had made a mistake in the same class or anything that would have signalled that he had thought of himself as someone better than you.
On the other hand, all of the parents, all of the teachers and all of your classmates had made it apparent time and time again that you were the two top students in the year, just like how your parents had been at university. At one point, your mother had mused that not going to the same school with Park Serim would put you in the best light, yet your father had no intention of giving in, saying that it would look like you had tried to back away from the challenge, you had lost again Serim.
So you had stayed, living each day under the crippling pressure from your parents to do at least as well as Serim, if not better; in the watching eyes of your classmates who were yearning for some drama between you two, sneakily like mosquitoes looking for blood; and with the constant knot in your stomach that one day, you might mess it all up. You had held out because you had told yourself that university would be better, yet little did you know, you had been admitted to the same university with Serim, under the same department, albeit for a different course.
Tumblr media
Park Serim was someone you tried so hard to despise.
Yet, seeing the young, captivating man the lanky boy had grown into in the hallways, hearing his name in girls’ muffled conversations who were checking him out, and constantly being reminded that he was, in fact, a good person with a big heart - helping some girls with their boxes and suitcases when moving into the dorms, tutoring a junior who was struggling with Advanced Maths in the library, being in the students’ union and campaigning for accessible mental health options - made it truly difficult to despise him. He was your rival after all, so why couldn’t he be arrogant like his father, why couldn’t he have bad manners, why couldn’t he be the womaniser type, so that you could hate him? Most important of all, why… why on Earth could he never drag you down, humiliate you or trigger you to snap at him, to call him names, to hate him for the rest of your life?
The truth is, it was because he had never hated you in the first place, and he made sure that you knew that when he bumped into you at a students’ union party, and you (probably) looked pathetic in his eyes, standing in the corner with no one to talk to. You didn’t need his pity, so you left almost immediately after your conversation, puzzled about how to feel about him and his confession.
His words rang in your ears whenever you passed by him in the following weeks, his words were mocking you for all the past instances when you had made yourself see more into things, and made you believe that he truly hated you. Time after time, you found it more and more difficult to hate him, let alone when you crossed paths when you were both at your most vulnerable - when you both sat in the corridor, waiting for your respective counsellors, the ones he had campaigned so much for.
You had assumed that he had only done it for others because as selfless as he was, he always put others first, but as it turned out, he needed those sessions just as much as you did, but you wouldn’t have told him about your side if it hadn’t been for him speaking up first.
“Do you find the sessions useful?” He broke the silence that fell upon the two of you in this secluded part of the building, the grand door at the end of the corridor keeping out all the noises of cheerful giggling, shuffling feet and the mindless chatter of the carefree university students. The atmosphere on the two sides of the door could not have been any different, but you didn’t mind for you couldn’t really relate to all that was going on on the other side of it.
You turned your gaze towards the boy who was looking at you as if you had been an intricately put together equation that he couldn’t quite decipher. You didn’t blame him, you felt the same way towards him.
“I do,” you responded curtly, wondering how much he wanted to know. There was nothing pressuring in his gaze, if anything, he stared at you like someone who cared, but that just made you feel more vulnerable and even smaller than before.
“I’m glad,” he nodded, and whether it was relief on his part or approval, you couldn’t tell, but one thing was for sure, Serim did look lighter. His shoulders easened, and the ends of his lips turned upwards, only a tiny bit. There was a ghost of a smile playing on his lips, and even that was a bit bittersweet. You didn’t expect him to continue, but he did so as he turned his face from yours to look ahead of himself as if he was reminiscing.
“I do, too,” he added belatedly, referring to finding the sessions useful. He was playing with his fingers, busy drawing invisible patterns on his skin while talking. “I really needed someone to talk to, someone who doesn’t know about our families, or at least, someone who doesn’t judge. I feel like we’ve been in that suffocating atmosphere for so long, it was difficult to break out and think any differently than how we’ve been brought up.”
Looking at his side profile while listening to his words made you feel conflicted; a part of you only knew him from afar, from a safe distance, by the sidelines, and you had always made sure that it stayed that way. Now, you could see the flaws in his flawless facade; the slight blemishes along the edges of his skin, the bulge of his Adam's apple while he was pulling himself together for an answer, the slight shake of his long, delicate eyelashes. You realised that you had never looked at him before, you had merely looked through him - as if looking at him would burn you, it would hurt you, it would make you feel worse -, but now, you felt more understood than ever before. His words touched your soul, the part of you that you kept behind closed doors, tucked far away from the curious eyes, keys upon keys guarding the entrance.
“I’ve assumed that you didn’t feel this way. You looked like you were at peace with it all, like the pressure didn’t bother you,” you vocalised, the Serim of the present right in front of you and the Serim in your memories clashing against each other. You had always, wrongly, assumed that he had it under control, that he was like a stone that could never be shaken or swayed, but now you realised that he was neither stern, nor unbreakable.
“I’ve tried to make myself believe the same, that it didn’t bother me,” he admitted between shaky breaths, and he looked back at you when you inquired:
“Was it your choice to come here?”
It could have been his parents for all you knew even though you couldn’t imagine them taking his mental or physical health into account as long as he was the best. It could have been his peers taking note of his changing habits or his friends who were worried about him. It could have been a professor like in your case who was concerned seeing your fatigued state given your always overachieving self.
Serim nodded, slowly at first as if he was afraid of the consequences of his actions, then he bobbed his head a second time - more confident than for the first time.
“How about you?”
You nodded, too, and he yet again masked his face in something that prickled at your skin, solely because you weren’t used to seeing this, seeing all that curiosity and affection and need to protect. Your first instinct was to pull up the walls around you, to resist, to turn away.
“Don’t look at me like that,” you found yourself saying, the words leaving your mouth feebly despite the warning edge to them. Serim was understandably perplexed for you didn’t usually talk to him like that.
“Like what?”
“Like you care.”
“But I do,” he confessed without thinking twice about it, and your lips parted seeing how unwavering he was with his response. Seeing you blink at him in confusion, he answered your unasked question, too. “It hurts me to know that there’s someone who might have gone through the same that I did, or even if not the same, then something similar.”
The fragile confession that left his mouth while you were both waiting for your turn with your own counsellor made you seen, heard and understood by someone whom you had assumed to be feeling something completely different. Never in your life would you have expected Park Serim to be the one to deliberately want to care about you, but the truth is, you realised that you wanted to do the same. Seeing how much he helped out and cared for others around him - yourself included -, you didn’t want to wish anything ill onto him despite your parents’ rivalry.
You couldn’t say anything to his words though because the door of your counsellor’s office flew open, and after the student before you left, you were invited in. However, when you finished with your session, you found Serim sitting in the same chair after his own session, and despite the urge in you to walk past him as if you hadn’t knowledged his presence (like you usually did), you walked up to him, asking how he felt (something that was asked from you both at the beginning and at the end of your sessions). His smile was genuine this time when he replied that he felt good, he felt relieved.
“Me too,” you agreed, and let your lips curl a tiny bit upwards before giving in to his suggestion to walk back to the dorms together.
Because being together with him suddenly didn’t feel wrong or bad, it actually felt good. It felt like a safe haven to escape to, and you realised that Park Serim could never be someone you truly despised. Not anymore.

I'm a 'Martin won't ever publish another ASOIAF book' truther but in addition to King Bran being profoundly idiotic, Martin has major structural issues that are now too 'big' to 'fix' imo. Namely, the ages of the characters are ridiculous and are all wrong for where their arcs need to go. The characters on the show were aged up and even the younger ones grew up on screen so Bran and Sansa and Arya were at least into late teens/adulthood at the end of the show - one is 13 and other is currently 11 and Bran is like, what, 8 in books? sksksksksk Just absolutely disastrous.
The characters should have been in their mid to late teens at the start of AGOT, at minimum. Especially because Martin essentially treated them, and has them act, like adults. I'm sorry, but I don't think that man has any understanding between the mental and physical developmental differences between, say, a 14 year old girl and a 17 year old girl. Every character appears and acts like they are anywhere from 3 to 5 years older than they are.
Also, the POV structure, while interesting, has also been disastrous in actually getting the story moving because certain characters have to be in certain places for things to happen while others are just sitting around killing time.
Hmmm, I don't really agree about the POV structure. It functioned fine for three books and offered compelling court drama, battles, magical elements and intriguing plot-twists. AGOT / ACOK / ASOS are pretty well paced and I've even seen someone making the case that the series could even have ended in that point and would have been one of the best fictional fantasy experiments. I found myself agreeing and disagreeing. I think the ASOS ending would have still distinguished ASOIAF from other fantasy series in its toppling of the good-guys-win-everything type of wrap-up, but it would be way less ambitious than what GRRM ended up pursuing.
The pacing problems came about with AFFC/ADWD. And I'm not one to talk here, because I'm an AFFC truther and it's always been my favourite of the series, so my two cents on this is that Dany's Slaver's Bay plotline is too damn long. Tyrion is also taking too damn long to get to her. It's a drag. In the book she is supposed to solve the Quaithe riddle,* escape Vaes Dothrak, get herself an army + navy, make the decision to leave Slaver's Bay AND sail to Westeros, so that in TWOW she can fight Young Gryff, face-off the Others, become a mask-off tyrant AND get deposed? It's a lot.
I honestly think he should just give up the 7 book compartmentation, admit defeat and just add another damn book to the series to get Dany to Westeros and fit in his fAegon plotline. It's not like he doesn't have the pages. No one's gonna care if there are 8 books instead of magic no 7. But my guess is that he's hung up over some decisions he's made in the past and kept trying to make the gargantuan plot fit inside this neat box he envisioned - 7 books, King Bran, Caesar!Jon etc. It would explain why he tried a time skip between ASOS and AFFC and had to scrap it - it would make more sense for the Stark children to be older. But he characterized himself as a gardener-style writing who doesn't plan everything in advance and lets the story grow organically. In that case, he should make allowances if the story grew in a direction he did not initially predict and make the required changes! Maybe King Bran made sense when he first wrote the initial three-book outline, but that was a long time ago & many other plot points changed.
My advice is to just stop trying to make the plot fit the previous designs, stay true to the way the characters evolved and respect the themes you've painstakingly developed over the course of nearly 30 years. Otherwise what's the point? If your original ending doesn't fit anymore, think of another ending ffs. The show is irrelevant at this point, so what if the endgame will be different? IDK, I'd be thinking that this is my life's work and I have every right to do it justice. Perhaps that's what he's thinking too and why it's taking him so long.
I agree that the ages of the characters are ridiculous, but if a time skip really, really can't fit anywhere, it's better to compromise on the age issue and leave off with a teen monarch than it would be to impose a surveillance state in Westeros as the solution with all-seeing, all-knowing Bran. That's a starkly dystopic ending, if you ask me.
Not to mention that it clashes directly with the end of magic - how is Bran supposed to be the Tree of Sauron if there's no magic anymore and everything goes back to normal? On what basis does he even get to be king at all if he's just a regular boy? How will he even survive being pulled out of the weirwood net if magic leaves the realm of men?
*“To go north, you must journey south. To reach the west, you must go east. To go forward you must go back, and to touch the light you must pass beneath the shadow.” JFC, if Dany has to get to Asshai, I will fucking scream.

👋 Coming back
I talked about personal stuff a bit on my Twitter last year, but since I came back to Tumblr I feel like I should share it here too 🤏 especially since this is where it all happened and all
I'm not the type of guy to make long post (not anymore at least) but I've been thinking about it for the past days and I think that I won't be able to truly move on and enjoy my time back on Tumblr until I adress it here as well
There's A LOT of new faces around, assuming the majority of the active peeps don't know me 😳👋 (not complaining ghfhgf) so this will be a weird read, maybe? This isn't at all a "callout post", I won't name anyone or any situations in details, just -vague gesture- awknowledge things here and there, this is mainly about my experience (small TW for mention of su*cide)
I came back to Tumblr earlier this year after being away from public fandom spaces for ~a year (more or less) and I noticed that there was still "drama" (both light dramas and more serious harassment, using "drama" as a general term here) happening- and at first I didn't want to interact with any of it because it was hitting too close to home
I've been publicly harassed since mid 2021- and I know it's still happening, old dramas being digged up publicly sometimes- but the harassment back then wasn't anonym tho
Lowest point for me is when this fandom almost costed me my life, didn't know what to do, and ending up acting stupid in the middle of a panic attack- wouldn't be there if not for my close friends. That's when I realized that I needed to take a step back, to reconnect with what truly matter and to stop getting involved in things that were dragging my mental health down. Since then, I've been fully enjoying my and other's content again 😌
So when I came back and saw that the same people were still harassing (actively or passively) others? I wanted to say something, but I didn't really (left some comments, tags, sent some supportive DMs...)
Using this post to finally say- ayo, I've been there and the best advice I can say is, take a break 🤏 Take a break from the fandom when it becomes too overwhelming for X or Y reason. Small break, big break- whatever will work for you, but disconnect! Even if you think you're ok, it all pills up subconsciously (feeling burnout over Art, VP, Mods, starting to compare yourself to others, getting parano... those are all signs that you might want to back off a bit and spent time doing something else, ressource yourself!)
Also want to use this post to thanks all the people that were checking on me during that time away and to those who were still supporting my creations, it really gave me the strength to continue 🧡
Thanks also to everyone who came to "clear the air" since I came back! I know a big wave of new comers joined right as some drama was happening- and I get wanting to protect yourselves and blocking the persons mentionned in callouts! There is nothing wrong with protecting your space (don't let anyone tell you otherwise)
I met and connected with new people (something I thought would never happen again after everything) some of them I can now call good friends, and I'll forever be grateful for people who think for themselves and have their own opinions
Nothing happened, this post isn't a reply to anything/anyone or an attack or an attempt at "stirring shit up", I just needed to get it out, I guess? Needed to really close that door, and finally move on to enjoy Tumblr again. This is where I started and I still really like that place and how the fandom feels here 🤙 soyeh that's all HGFH thanks for reading

Note
I respect your opinions in here and I like that you don’t take anything too serious (not fighting pointlessly about a celeb relationship, not arguing with ppl who disagree with you).
Not everyone’s going to like a movie and that’s ok. Not everyone’s going to hate a movie and that’s cool too.
Some ppl on here are in their feelings right now about anything CE related bc they’re mad at him and this relationship he’s in.
TBH it’s kind of reminding me (on a way lesser level) of that whole Steven yeun Ali Wong and david choe drama. David is the one with the seriously problematic comments but Ali and Steven seemingly knowing about his tendencies yet continuing to work with him/enable him by supporting him despite the controversy is where ppl are upset at. Steven and Ali didn’t make those comments and I don’t think they support that type of behavior but them knowing about it and not calling him out is the issue. It’s enabling and also turning a blind eye where convenient.
CE dating AB is by extension dating her friends too. AB is the immediate person we should be side-eying bc she been friends with these ppl for a min. They have records of weird ass racist creepy comments for years and she’s BFFs with them still. Nobody knows exactly if she herself is the same as them but bc she surrounds herself with these questionable ppl you have to wonder about her.
CE letting himself be associated with her and her friends by extension is the issue bc ppl are going to assume he don’t care or is fine with it. That may or may not be true. Perhaps he only tolerated them bc of her - i.e. allowed her to bring her friends along. But him not saying anything doesn’t help. Him choosing to not address or continuing ignoring the situation while his name is attached to hers is the issue. Ppl can be mad and they’re allowed.
But it’s also not such a big deal that anyone needs to attack tumblr blogs about it. You can choose to forget or ignore or stop supporting the guy just like I’m sure ppl are going to stop supporting Steven and Ali bc of what happened with David.
Some ppl are gunna hate and drag and they can do that on their own spaces.
I’m glad you don’t buy into the toxicity and waste your time. I like that you spend the time blogging about the things you do like. And maybe throwing it some shade here and there haha. Keep doing you!
Thanks for your message. ✨🤎I just try to be neutral and ... shady at the same time if that's even possible. 🥺😈 like I always say people have to protect their peace. Especially on here. I'll keep posting light things for now.
PS. That whole thing with the cast of BEEF is disgusting.

Fragile Lines [Chapter One] Bad Blood [Ignacio “Nacho” Varga]
Tumblr media
A/n: As I’ve been hinting around to for some time, here is the first chapter of my new story for the Better Call Saul fandom. One big thing to remember when going into this story is that the plot will be canon divergent; it does somewhat follow the plot, but along the journey it changes. Please enjoy.
Summary: Ariana is a down-to-earth ER doctor who lives a mildly stress-free life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Or so she thinks. As the younger sister of Chuck and Jimmy McGill; two troublesome attorneys, she is always being pulled into their everyday drama, especially when it involves the other.
Unbeknownst to her, she is soon dragged into a cluster of absurdity following a suggestion she gives to Jimmy and puts herself in the sights of Nacho Varga. Her simple life is about to take a turn for the worse and lines are about to be broken.
Warning(s): mentions death and drugs, mild blood, family drama, and lies.
Breathe... Breathe...
Ria stared at her teary blue eyes in the mirror as she scrubbed at the blood stains on her coat. She knew there was no point in it; blood was hard to remove from light-colored clothes, but still, she tried. Her mind was a labyrinth. She knew as an ER Physician things would be hard. Hell, she had five years of residency to change her mind, but day after day she came back. It hurt every time something terrible happened. And today was no different.
A nineteen-year-old patient of hers passed on her. He was barely an adult. Rushed into the ER with multiple gunshot wounds to the right upper and right lower abdominal quadrants, he bled out on her table. She tried her best to resuscitate him but to no avail. His life was in her hands, and she failed him. Ria hid in the bathroom between patients and cried her eyes out. She couldn't help it; she was human. And the worst part wasn't even over. The patient's closest family had to be notified; no one even knew their son or brother was dead. An anonymous caller dialed 911, leaving him there on Central Avenue near the Crossroads Motel, a place mostly populated by junkies. She wasn't certain, but she assumed the young man had crossed the wrong person.
It was too common in Albuquerque for someone to wind up dead due to drugs or a deal gone wrong. And this poor soul Ria failed to save was the city's most recent victim, as far as she knew.
Staring down into the sink, she watched the water swirl down the drain along with the blood from the washcloth she had been using; her hand rested on the sink, fingers bouncing to the keys of 'Clair De Lune', an action she often did to soothe herself. No one even told her that she was walking around with red on her collar until the triage nurse noticed and urged her to clean up. The nineteen-year-old's death was fresh on her mind; it occurred only an hour ago, but it was something Ria could not yet let go of. She turned off the sink and removed her coat, clipping her nametag onto the front of her black scrubs before she folded the fabric, tossing it over her arm. The stain wasn't coming out and she seriously needed to return to her work. Fixing her disheveled appearance in the mirror; her vibrant coral lipstick had been smudged a bit in the corner, she quickly washed her hands and slipped out into the hallway.
"Ariana?!" She heard a familiar voice shout. The tirage nurse, a woman in her mid-twenties named Karina, rushed over to her. "Two patients were just brought in. Both were in a skateboarding accident and broke each of their legs."
Ria narrowed her eyes in disbelief.
"Both of them?"
Karina gave her a knowing look and hummed.
"I know right? But your brother Jimmy brought them in and he is claiming the same thing occurred."
Ria sighed in annoyance. She felt a headache coming on.
"Have Montoya check the skateboarders. I'll talk to Jimmy."
Remembering her soiled coat, she removed it from her arm and offered it to Karina, asking her to toss it into the laundry. Having to wear one when speaking to immediate family members, she forgot to remove it when the last patient was brought in. With a quiet thank you, she sauntered toward the waiting room.
This would probably be looked down on as unprofessional, but she needed to know what happened; Jimmy was keeping something from them, and she just knew it. Ria walked into the busy waiting area and found her brother sitting to himself with a clipboard in his hand. His thin brown hair was unkempt and his dark suit pants were stained brown at the knees.
"Good morning, Jimmy," She announced as she stood in front of him with her arms crossed over her chest. "I already know the answer, but what do I owe the pleasure."
"I didn't know you were working today," her older brother deflected. His blue eyes looked her over, noticing the red and puffy bags beneath her eyes. "The pollen count must be high. You'd better take some Benadryl."
Ria snorted. Her brother was damn good at avoiding questions, especially when she was the one asking them. Reaching down, she snatched the clipboard from his hand and gave it a look over.
"Laurentius and Calvin Lindholm; skateboarding accident, or so I was told."
"Frick and Frack; not as good as they thought apparently," Jimmy retorted.
Ria narrowed her eyes and tossed him back the clipboard.
"And you're their lawyer now? Just seems a little... planned to me."
Jimmy was known for his elaborate schemes. He had been conning people since he was a kid and though Ria wanted to believe that becoming a lawyer had changed him, this visit proved otherwise.
"Oh come on!" Jimmy exclaimed in annoyance. "I didn't plan this. Those two are just idiots. And besides, I wouldn't be paying their medical bills if this were a scam."
He had a point.
"I'm only saying it sounds planned because of the likelihood of their injuries," Ria stated.
She hated pointing fingers at him, but this entire mess had Jimmy's name written all over it. Though perhaps she was being hard on him because of his past. Wasn't it her job to support him? Love him no matter how terrible he used to be?
"What happened to them, Frick and Frack? The truth please."
"They were in a skateboarding accident, Aria. Lawyer confidentiality, remember?" Jimmy pointed out.
She reckoned there was no point in asking him; he was dead set on not telling her the truth. This was no more than a waste of time.
"I have to return to my job... but I want to know that you're OK. Promise me."
"I am. I'm fine," Jimmy claimed.
The strange, frightened look in his blue eyes made Ria uncertain, but she had no option but to believe him. Saying her goodbyes, she turned to walk away, but Jimmy called out her name, immediately stopping her. She looked at him over her shoulder and raised a brow in question.
"Can you visit Chuck later? He asked about you."
"My shift doesn't end until late," Ria retorted.
It wasn't a complete lie; she was in for a 12-hour shift today and Chuck would be in bed before she got off. But the main reason she didn't want to visit him was because of their strained relationship. Neither of them saw eye to eye when it came to Jimmy and Ria could not stand to argue with him regarding the middle sibling; he always started on her every time Jimmy was involved with something that closely resembled a scam.
"See, that works out. Go see him in the morning. You can pick up some ice and that newspaper he likes so much; you know the one," Jimmy stated.
Ria took an uneasy breath.
"He asked about me?"
"Yeah," Jimmy retorted with a shake of his head. "All the time."
Despite this information, she wasn't certain about going, but if it helped her relationship with her brother even a little then she was more than eager to visit him. It felt nice to know that Chuck had asked about her on more than one occasion.
"I'll go tomorrow afternoon before work."
Jimmy grinned.
"Have fun."
She should have said no.
--
Parking near the curb outside Chuck's house on San Cristobal Road, Ria got out of her Honda Civic and sauntered over to the mailbox. She took her cell phone from her back pocket and put it inside, remembering her brother's strict rules, no electricity, and no batteries. He claimed to suffer from electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), an adverse physical reaction to electrical devices that sent him into a pained fit, often causing him to faint; one of the reasons she moved from Cicero to Albuquerque a year ago; to help care for him. Once she was done, she went back to her car and retrieved the items that her brother wanted; a 5-pound bag of ice and 'the Financial Times', a newspaper that focused on business and economic current affairs. Taking them to the front door, she grounded herself by touching a metal knob attached to the banister outside, knocking shortly after.
On the 3rd knock, she saw a shadow pass the peephole.
"Ariana?" Came Chuck's muffled voice. He almost sounded surprised to see her. "Did you ground yourself?"
"Like always. I have your newspaper and some ice," Ria retorted.
She raised the two items to emphasize her point and then waited for her older brother to open the door. As he did, backing up the stairs a bit as she walked in, Ria noticed the space blanket over his head and shoulders and frowned.
"Are you OK?"
Did he have an attack?
Chuck nodded, making her feel a little better.
"Jimmy crashed here drunk last night and forgot to ground himself."
She wasn't aware that he came by. Taking the ice into the kitchen, she tore a hole into the bag and dumped it into the cooler, having to arrange a few of the contents inside; bacon and a few bottles of water. As she stood, Ria took a quick look around and noticed that nothing much had changed since the last time she had visited Chuck. His house was an accident waiting to happen; lanterns were lying about, sitting on stacks of newspapers that he was too scared to take outside and put in the recycle bin. She frowned and turned to her brother.
"Was Jimmy OK? I just saw him yesterday and he seemed... dazed."
"Did you see him at the medical center?" Chuck asked, standing next to the counter. "Because he was there. He paid a bill for two young men who ridiculously happened to break both their legs in the same skateboard accident and that set him back in his funds."
So, he knew already. Ria took an uneasy breath. She wasn't aware that Jimmy had run out of funds, however. It seemed strange that he'd even tell Chuck about this issue. Regardless, he once again dragged her into another one of their squabbles.
"I talked to him when he brought them in."
"And?" Chuck asked.
He wasn't going to let this go it seemed.
"And I'm sure he told you the same thing he told me when I asked if it was a scam," Ria answered.
"You believed him, didn't you?" He asked with an astonished laugh. "Don't you see that he's conning for money again."
She was not in the mood for this.
"I didn't come over here to talk about Jimmy," Ria mentioned. "I came to see you."
"It's been two months since you've visited, Ariana. What reason did you come here? Did Jimmy ask you to?" Her brother asked, staring at her in pity.
Bouncing her fingers against her leg to the keys of 'Clair De Lune', she tried to fight back her tears. This was an ignorant idea, coming to see him. She honestly thought he would be happy to see her; all the excitement she had been feeling was gone, replaced with disappointment.
"I came here because you are my brother and I worry about you," Ria answered.
It wasn't a complete lie. Yes, Jimmy asked her to, but he also told her that Chuck wanted to see her too.
"Did you even ask about me during those two months?"
Chuck snorted in disbelief and shook his head. The space blanket crinkled in protest.
"Another fabricated lie from Jimmy. Don't you see that he hasn't changed? He does this all the time; pits you against me for some reason."
"You do that. You pit me against you," Ria argued as he pointed her finger at him. She was irate at this point. "Every time I come here all we do is argue about Jimmy. It's never 'how are you' or 'what have you been up to'. I've had enough of this, Chuck. You are both my brothers; I love each of you equally, but I am not going to let you slander him as you do."
This was an endless circle. Nothing ever changed. Ria didn't understand why there was so much bad blood between him and Jimmy, but the pointless fighting needed to stop. She just wanted them to get along; the three of them were supposed to be siblings.
"You should have never come here," Chuck uttered. "You should have stayed in Cicero; it was a mistake for you to unroot your life just for Jimmy."
Is that what he thought? Ria shook her head in disbelief.
"I moved here for you." She paused to angrily motion around. "And this... mess. Because you're sick."
"You moved here because Jimmy begged you to. And you gave up so much Ariana. Your career, your house, and Benjamin. I don't want you to give up more for him," Chuck mentioned.
He crossed a line. How could he blame everything on Jimmy? And why Benjamin? Why did he have to throw him in her face? Tears poured down her face as she stood there, staring at him in anger.
"You were right. It was a mistake to come here."
Tossing the newspaper onto the counter, Ria stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind her. As she sauntered over to the mailbox to collect her phone she considered kicking it over in a fit of rage but knew better than to steep so low. By the time she got into her car, she was wracked with sobs. Chuck was wrong. It wasn't Jimmy who ruined her two-year relationship with Benjamin, it was her. She didn't want to get married so soon; she wasn't ready to settle down just yet. And then Chuck got sick. It may have been Jimmy who asked her to move, but in the end, she decided to leave.
He didn't understand. He couldn't.
Her mother and father were dead. She lived 18 hours from her brothers. Ria didn't want to lose them either, especially considering how rare and unpredictable Chuck's condition was, so she moved. Yes, she tried to explain this to Benjamin but he didn't understand. He couldn't leave his life in Cicero for her. Perhaps she was being a brat; perhaps she should have never left. Often she considered calling Benjamin and asking to come home, but as far as she was concerned, that chapter in her life was over; he probably didn't think of her anymore. She tore it out and tossed it in the trash. And for what? A broken family with no plans to change.
"I'm a fucking mess," Ria uttered with a pained laugh.
She opened her phone and glanced at the time. Her drama would have to wait; it was time for work. As she drove toward Lovelace, she pondered calling her ex but decided against it. At least for now.
Not when I'm at my lowest.

Blog Stuff
^ Like, "FYI if you want to block tags" stuff
Little announcement here: Factor It In is on hiatus for now, probably for the rest of 2023. I know where the story is going overall and I know where the next chapter's going, but I struggled more than expected with the "Torus" voice (took like 6 weeks longer than the other chapters and all of it painful :'D)
I don't want to face a timecrunch struggle with TJ and Rose POVs (two characters who will be new to me), so I'm taking the bi-weekly update stress away and putting the 'fic on hiatus for now. But I wrote 77k before a hiatus was needed so I'm proud of that <3
We've got some 130 Prompts coming up as well as "Unicorn Years" for Origin in September (and hopefully a special Friday the 13th piece in October). In other words, FOP stuff is still bi-weekly as usual.
-> As a reminder, the 130 Prompts are posted in the order they are for a reason. You don't have to read them all if you don't want to, but extra context is always nice. If you've been dragging your feet on "Looking Back" by any chance... I might recommend that before the next update, which is "Sentry" ;)
On the "off" Friday I'm planning one-shots for various fandoms, especially shorter character studies. Really want to practice capturing a variety of voices, some quicker one-shots, and maybe I'll try some characters I don't use a lot. Or I'll be self-indulgent and focus on my faves... who knows.
Hoping to post more Come What May as well since you guys were excited to see it back <3... and it would be nice to actually finish a non-one-shot 'fic for the first time in. 7 years.
It's probably been obvious, but I also took a long hiatus from digital art. Traditional art is more comfy for me and I've been trying new digital programs, but haven't fallen in love with anything (i.e. I've been a vector artist for 10 years and moving from my safe space to different programs and styles is... painful).
I think I'm ready to start pushing my comfort zone, but be forgiving of my digital style because I'm playing around with new tools and this is a big jump for me, ha ha. I think I'm going to do some silly, low-stress fanfic doodles with very little attempt to make them look good, just testing stuff out.
I miiiiiight have a few PMV / animatic ideas, so we'll see
By nature of me posting art for my own 'fics, spoilers be upon ye if you're not up to date with my writing. Relatively recent stuff and/or stuff I consider "big" will get the #ridspoilers tag, but stuff I wrote 6+ months ago is less likely to get the tag, so that's how that goes.
-> #Dog's Life spoilers will get a unique tag because the weekly updates and drama make me say "Yeah, a special tag makes sense," so if that's a 'fic you think you want to read someday without spoilers, consider blocking that sooner rather than later :)
-> I'm also adding a #Pixels Imperfect tag to stuff from that universe (and I'll go back and add it to the chapters I already posted). "Pixels Imperfect" is the series name on AO3 for my digital gremlin Traffic SMP content (Everyone can freely wander around New Star Station outside the game and just puts on their roleplay hats when they go in, everything under this series fits under one umbrella of universe canon, etc.)
-> #Neighborhood Watch is the series name for "we take the roleplay lore seriously, this is their life, no digital world and no roleplay hat to take off" Traffic SMP content. I haven't posted anything for it yet, but I've got stuff in the works (I'm playing with a couple "making every season as canon as possible in one storyline" pieces and </3 it's big divorce speedrun hours for Clocker fam rn)
As for the other 'fics, I've been posting stuff like Origin, the 130, and Knots for 7 years and I feel okay about how that's going- I don't normally get spoiler Asks, but my general rule is to wait 1-2 weeks before I say anything spoilery on my blog. I think that's been working fine and we've got a good system, so I'm not changing anything there.
Lastly - and this is also part of the reason Factor is going on hiatus - it sounds like Traffic SMP Season 5 is just around the corner. For my followers who don't know much about this Minecraft deathmatch series, the creators only play for a few weeks - I think the shortest season was 6 weeks and the longest was 8 - and each creator puts out one episode a week (usually Friday).
So, it's a pretty short chunk of time and I don't want to be juggling too many things while it's coming out. I think this year I want to jump in and create some nice content while it's ongoing instead of just doodling off to the side and keeping it to myself... I need to dig up my old liveblog doodles I never shared, hm.
-> The traffic story canon gets reset every season (i.e. it's unscripted play, there's no continuous plot, and each season starts relationships from scratch), so if you've been enjoying any of my Traffic SMP reblogs, consider looking into it and riding that wave while episodes come out for a couple weeks and we can be hype together <3
-> Stuff for that season will be tagged #traffic spoilers, which is the tag I use across all the seasons, and I'll make a new post with my Season 5 spoiler tag once we get the name reveal.
-> As is traditional when I liveblog, I'll also use the tag #Riddle watches Traffic so you can block that too if you like. Just wanted to let people know in case I have any Traffic SMP followers who want to go in blind and don't want to risk seeing my posts before they have time to block my spoilers tag. #traffic spoilers still covers everything, including new season.
-> I also need to look into maybe switching from Traffic Life SMP as my blog tag to Traffic SMP because I think that's. the right name and it would probably be smart to tag properly... hm.
I think that covers everything I wanted to say. I'll add a list or link to my pinned post as well so people can figure out what to block for spoilers and stuff.
Thanks for enjoying my blog!

ngl US schools need to actually fucking learn about disabled people
Keep note that it has been a few years since I've been to a school that isn't online, and (I hope) things have probably changed since then.  Along with this, this is from my personal experience and only my experience in a few schools I've been in, coming from the state of Florida, so it could be different for you or anyone else. So do take this with a bit of salt.  This isn't really a PSA as it's more of just a rant, but I just want this off my chest.
Having said that, let's start. Also FYI I made this post on a different site, but I am putting this on here to maybe bring awareness on what I went through and/or bring light to others that may be going through this.
To put simply, TL/DR: Schools (especially the students and.. certain counselors) don't give a flying fuck about if you're disabled, if you don't have a cane, walking chair, crutches, or don't exhibit the most stereotypical form of a person with a disability: you will get mistreated. If you want more specifications, read below
In the amount of years I've been in school before 2020, almost every year actually sucked. Don't get it twisted, I love somewhat most of my teachers from that time, and one bus driver was pretty cool, but aside that, being at school actually sucked. I was disregarded of my emotions, and if I were acknowledged, I would either be belittled or treated with a form of "I'm actually so annoyed by your existence but I'm gonna pretend I'm not because you're a child and I don't wanna get in trouble". In cases I weren't treated like a idiotic drama queen, it was either my teachers/bus driver, or someone who tried to implements rules so I could actually focus and be okay, only to have it backfired because of everyone else.
By everyone else, I mean: bus drivers allowing violence and verbal abuse (not even kidding with that ngl), counsellors being belittling, insulting, and ignoring quite obvious issues, being dragged by quite a few teachers despite my willingness to walk by myself, ignorance of my disability/disabilities (hearing impairment and possible undiagnosed ADHD), lack of awareness of my quite obvious deteriorating mental health and rise in suicidal thoughts, and, obviously, semi-almost every employee's disregard and/or even prejudice to disabled people, specifically neurodivergent, hearing impaired people, and/or like the two in general.
An interesting example and pattern I've noticed are the students. Of course, kids are kids, and they probably don't give a shit, but in terms of disabled folk, they really didn't give a shit. Almost every single day, I and probably a few others had to endure a day of constant noise, unsolicited touching, insults, harassment, constant overstimulation, and even abuse in some instances. Hell, I remember one day (around the last year I was in IRL school) I actually snapped and had a mental breakdown on the bus, I was hitting myself, screaming, crying, you name it, I was most likely doing it. All because of the students. Despite them being told multiple times there are people who are very sensitive and need special treatment, they didn't listen at all, they never did.
As much as I was a bit sad for having to stay home in 2020 as I really liked my 3rd and 5th grade teachers (one of them bcz ngl she's one the reasons I'm still here and alive), I am beyond fucking glad that I didn't stay a year longer, because while I had some good memories, it was honestly kind of a nightmare, which led me to bottling up my emotions and pretending I wasn't hearing impaired for the sake of others, this obviously caused a lot of insecurities forming because of it.
(apologies for weird formatting, I'm not exactly used to writing big paragraphs on this website)

14th August 2013
Dear Pete,
Working from home today because for the most part I couldn't drag myself out of bed. I know everyone will say I'm being my usual drama queen self, especially as it's not really like anything has gone wrong, but screw them because I dragged myself in there yesterday even though every morsel and taste of food I've ever consumed was hurled up during that walk to the office.
Nothing really went wrong. Oh yeah, except for questioning my entire existence, hating my job to the point I want to kill someone, my best friend running away, and accidentally having sex with my best friend's brother who just happens to also be my roommate (a tryst which everyone involved is now pretending never happened).
Other than that things are grand.
You remember Holly? You left a few months ago not five years ago, of course you remember Holly. Anyway, she's just taken a fancy-shmancy and overly impressive job with some pharmaceutical company writing all the articles for their new website. Working from home and setting her own hours, she is officially ten times more successful than me now. No wonder I didn't want to get out of bed this morning.
When I called Miranda to tell her I couldn't go in she raised some interesting points whilst loudly exhaling at me with such frequency that it had me questioning if she'd developed a breathing difficulty since the last time I saw her.
"Well if you're really sick, Olivia. Fine. I still need those articles before the day is over though. This shouldn't be another day you just wallow at home because one of your relationships didn't work out."
"But-" "There's no point protesting," she says in a tired voice. "You have worked for me long enough. Bronchitis, tonsillitis, plague, or zombie invasion, you would still come in. Failed date and you need a week on the couch. It has to stop, Liv." "Oh." Her tone softens. "Liv, it's not like I don't know what you're going through. I do. Being the only single at the party is exhausting. The constant questions, the sympathetic looks, people wondering what's wrong with you; but you can't keep letting it affect you so much though. There are going to be more bad dates. There may even be another failed relationship yet, but you have to keep living your life. Not everyone in your life should support your catastrophising each and every time he doesn't turn out to be Prince Charming." This is one of those times where there is just no response that doesn't sound meek. "I'm sorry." "Don't be sorry, be proactive. Fix it. Holly's job is going to be available. It's a promotion for you if you work at it, but no more sick days just because your life didn't turn out the way you hoped it would when you were sixteen and knew nothing about the real world. No more wasting days after each new date debriefing everyone in the office. There needs to be a change in your behaviour. I need to observe it. Nobody wants to work here forever and this could be your chance." "I'm sorry?" "Come on, Liv. This is publishing. There isn't a member of this team who doesn't have a screenplay or novel or some sort of vision of grandeur that they secretly wish they could indulge and which was the very reason they wanted to write for a living back at day one. If you get this position you get your name out there more. That novel or screenplay or stage play of yours, this position could be what gets you enough publicity to get it published."
Stunned silence follows because I have been blind-sided.
"Right," Miranda says after a pause. "Well that's all I have to say. You know where I stand. You know what your options are here."
And then, as if he'd waiting for the perfect time, that exact moment in the timeline of my life that would enable him to make the most cyclonic impact on my calm, he rang. Big Red.
Miranda's words were still fresh in my ears and her interpretation of how Big Red and men like him send me on an emotional rollercoaster still fresh in my mind. Feeling the skip in my pulse at his name on the screen for the first time in a week made my stomach fall. She was right. She was so, so very right.
Then my gag reflex kicked in for reasons that as yet are unclear to me.
"I just wanted to see how you're doing." "Why?" Monotone. This boy has not earned variations in pitch. "What's wrong with you? I just wanted to see how you're doing, babe. I missed you" "Well then maybe you should've made some time on the weekend. Or, I don't know, replied to a text, or answered a phone call, or given me some indication that you were alive." "Are you angry with me?"
It was the point where it was time to stop pretending that this had even a one percent chance of working. The man had been married before. Now he was acting like asking me to commit to a relationship and then ignoring me for the following week and a half was acceptable behaviour. Deal breaker.
"Yeah I am. Look this is done. Can we please stop pretending this might go somewhere? I don't have the energy." "Are you fucking serious?" Animosity and aggression slapped me through the phone.
"Why are you getting angry with me? You're obviously not so taken with me that you want to reply to one text a week or spend time together, so what's the point? All week you couldn't find two seconds to send me a text message after practically moving into my house the week before. Whatever is going on here is not normal." I say softly. I'm not fighting; I'm done. "Right, so I don't spend one weekend with you and it's fucking over."
It would be so easy right then, so easy to cave and invite him over, to apologise for my behaviour, but it's not there. After trying to force a symbiotic relationship on me like some sort of gross bacteria or amoeba or whatever the hell it is that has that sort of relationship, he'd disappeared. It was weird. It was exhausting. It made me question my self-worth.
After five years of being happily single I refuse to commit to something that reeked so depressingly of lacklustre and sub-par commitment.
Maybe in some far off galaxy relationships can look that way at the start and turn out okay, but I don't want them to. You can tell me I'm too fussy, that I'm waiting on a fairy tale or whatever other bullshit you're thinking, but I want a guy who can't get enough of me at the start. Not a guy who is desperate to own me but who I can't count on. I want someone who doesn't make me suspicious from day one.
"To be fair, I'm not sure that it ever really started," I say with dryness I didn't know I possessed. Then the phone goes dead.
Groaning, wishing he'd call back, wanting to call him back, but lying here knowing none of that changes anything. What do you even do with a thirty-year-old man who thinks that hanging up on someone is the appropriate way to end a conversation he isn't enjoying?
Miranda has given me a list of articles to write today, each less stimulating than the last, and I may be forced to gouge my eyes out with a pen just to get out of it. Procrastinating like I champion, instead of working I pulled that old manuscript from all those years ago up onto the laptop and I've been tapping away on the keys for hours now. What can I say? Miranda pays me enough that it pays the bills, but I can't do that job forever. I need to finish that stupid manuscript. Just like she said.
Hating so hard on how right she is.
Feeling so brave and heroic over here taking a chance and working on my goals, that I am contemplating going out and buying myself a cape. Of course those articles need to be written before I buy the cape because, as she said, it's going to be easier to get that novel published if she gives me Holly's old job, and I have a sneaking suspicion that capes are expensive.
After a few hours of tapping away and having it all float around in my brain there was so much going on in there that I needed to release the pressure valve a little. Taking a little break from staring at the computer I picked up the phone.
"Is everything okay?" "No, I'm confused. I told Big Red not to call anymore, Miranda is potentially offering me Holly's job, I am working from home because my feelings are hurt beyond repair, and overall I really don't think that gluten can be so bad for me that I can't occasionally have bread. Surely if it was going to kill me it would've done it by now. I mean, it's just one grilled cheese every now and again, right? How bad can that be?" "Liv?" His voice is stern. "Yes, Christopher?" "Interrupting me at work so you can whinge about your life is not okay. If it's an emergency, fine. If you have a medical question that can't wait, then absolutely. If you've flooded the apartment and don't know what to do, then that's acceptable and I will answer my phone. But ringing for a general chat about whether or not you can eat gluten is not okay." "But-" "No. Send a text and when I'm free I will call back." He doesn't sound cranky, just tired. Worn out of nearly two months of having to single-handedly deal with my crap I bet. "Fine," I reply sulkily whilst making a mental note to send him a reminder later about what his housemate duties entail.
"We can talk about everything when I get home." There was an emphasis on the word 'everything' that left me ill at ease and with a mild distaste in my mouth.
I wasn't there when he got home. I ran away to CrossFit so I could lift, jump, run, and altogether avoid him. Then I went to Andrew's till it was late and there was every chance Chris would be in bed.
Home, work, love. Those are the big three. I have an apartment that I am very happy with (although not going to comment on housemate) so that is one tick. If I can get this manuscript finished maybe I'll be able to tick off the second. Maybe two out of three will keep me happy enough.
Oh, that reminds me. I think I broke my toe. I kicked the entertainment unit in the dark whilst trying to find Buffy and avoid Christopher. I'd get him to look at it, but then I broke my toe whilst avoiding interacting with him in person and then I would've broken my toe for nothing.
I have a novel to finish. Also, I'm changing the lighting in my bedroom. I can no longer handle myself in direct light. I feel icky. Having a floor to ceiling mirror the length of one wall is not assisting in the building of self-confidence.
Lastly, if you didn't work it out, that "relationship" lasted about nineteen days. I think that officially makes it my shortest relationship ever. Look at me overachieving. I'm all about PRs.
Once again I am stretching the definition of “relationship” to mean whatever the hell I want it to mean.

♛ Spotted on the Upper East Side…
Name: Latife Levent Pronouns: She/Her Age: 20 years old   Hometown: Upper East Side, NY Occupation: N/A Social Status: Insider Faceclaim: Sila Turkoglu
Who Is Latife?
“Everybody knows she’s on the move with her six inch heels and an attitude to seal the deal, she shoots to kill.”
If it isn’t the star of the show! Latife Levent, be still my beating heart. You love being in the spotlight even if you have to ‘accidentally’ shove someone else out of it. Sure, you might be selfish but it’s not a crime. As you once said: selfish people live longer and that’s just, like, science. You love drama. If it’s boring, you leave. If someone’s boring, you leave them. You need to be surprised and entertained. Life is for living and if you’re not taking at least one risk per day, you’re not doing it right. Overreactions are your favourite kind of reactions and you, Latife Levent, are not afraid to cause a scene. You’ll fight dirty when the occasion calls and almost all your break ups have been via text. Your twinsie, Nilay, does her best to reign in your more destructive tendencies but let’s be honest, you simply cannot be contained. XOXO --Gossip Girl
A Little Extra
Drama has always run through Latife’s veins and telling her something like ‘it’s not that big of a deal’ will earn you an Emmy winning slap across the face. She isn’t above throwing tantrums when she doesn’t get her own way. If Latife has to, she has no problem with fighting dirty, especially when it comes to any who crosses them. Vapid, selfish and incredibly stylish, Latife Levent won’t apologise for who she is. It’s not like she doesn’t care, it’s not like she doesn’t j’adore her nearest and dearest it’s just, y’know, hard to remember to have a filter. The single most important person to Latife (after, well, Latife) is her twin Nilay Levent. They’re pretty much polar opposites but they’re also a team.
Latife is the loud, bubbly and adventurous one who drags Nilay along here and there. Nilay is the book smart and sensible one who makes sure they both get home in one piece. Their bond is unbreakable. Latife wants to burn bright, burn as bright as she possibly can even if that means ultimately she’s going to burn out. Latife needs things to be loud because when they get quiet, that horrible self doubt starts to creep in. That dread. Latife never dwells on that too long though. Even if she doesn’t know what the future holds, she knows it’s going to be okay. As long as Mercury is in retrograde, the coffee is iced and the heels match the handbag then everything will be okay. Everything will continue to come up Latife.
What Does Gossip Girl Have On Them?
Latife lived for getting on Gossip Girl! Every party Latife was at, they needed their cute outfit posted and ‘XOXO’d. Every messy relationship, every spat, Latife knew that being talked about was better than not being talked about. A secret though? She’s been mixed up with the wrong crowd- a dangerous crowd- more than once.
Connections
Nilay Levent - the twinsie! Nilay is Latife’s favourite person in the world not including themselves. They might be polar opposites but they complement each other. Nilay would do anything for Latife and Latife would do the same for her. If Latife wasn’t busy, obvi.
Serena van der Woodsen - the ‘old’ Serena van der Woodsen was totally legendary in Latife’s eyes. Serena was the funnest person ever at parties! Miss her.
Jake Hunter - Latife ended up offering to tutor Jake back in high school because he was totally hot. Did Latife  know what the hell they were talking about? Not at all. Did she pretend to be her sister to sell the story? Sure did! Did she get bored and ghost, meaning the real Nilay had to break up with him? Yup.
Camille Hunter - did Latife meet Camille when they over trying to tutor Jake? Yes but that’s so besides the point. They had a thing. They actually had a really good thing and Latife totally ruined it. RIP.

Quiet Haven (The "Quiet" part is wishful thinking, it hasn't been quiet there in years)
A place intentionally built right in the dead center of nowhere. Despite this the food grows well and the river runs strongly around the area. Their flag was also designed by the children more to humor them than anything else, and yet it remains hoisted proudly on their flagpole. Constantly waving in the wind and visible, as the winds there are quite constant and sometimes very strong.
Although… the water at times seems to glow at night, the resident mad scientist (title given affectionately) reassures it's not quite radiation and even if it was their filters were made to deal with it. And something is a bit… different about the soil though that's a more recent thing. The residents of Quiet Haven seem to age very slowly, several silent theories have many giving Newt (the resident mad scientist) suspicious glances but you won't be hearing complaints.
You'll find Quiet Haven has quite a range in settlers with varying backgrounds. The first main founders had been a group of Couriers that had gone rouge, (bringing with them deserters from both the NCR and Caesar's Legion, also dragging a member of the Legion along despite his kicking and screaming for some reason (though therapy and rehabilitation had successfully helped him adjust to his new life, therapy in general had become mandatory especially to those who needed to learn that Caesar's idea of life was a terrible way to go about things)). They also picked up orphans, travelers and so on along the way. This tendency to find and take in children with nowhere to call home (many found in the ashes of war and hiding in the ruins of where their tribes had once called home) would continue long after establishing the town. Hence why there's so many children and lot's of "adults" who are a bit in over their heads.
If you plan on staying a while you're more than likely to meet one of the sort of leaders of Quiet Haven (though, don't call him that). Duck had at first tried his best to be the town hermit, going out of his way to build his house as far away from the rest and plant his crops in an attempt at a wall, but this only resulted in people building closer to him and planting their own crops. There's no way they'd leave him alone, he has Repair skills, a green thumb and the kids listen to him. Doesn't help that Newt is his younger brother and any mischief he and the children get into is automatically Duck's problem one way or another.
Ask around and you're bound to run into the other respected individuals in the community.
Duck probably won't have any big jobs for you and he probably won't have much to give in Caps but a good word from him is guaranteed to get you a place to stay and supplies. He might not be big on talking but he'd always appreciate an extra hand with defenses or harvesting the food. You'll have to talk to one of the trackers, Fox specifically, or one of the other leaders if you're interested in helping with hunting though.
Quiet Haven is a community built on trust, understanding and the mutual agreement that they don't want to be involved in outsider drama, so upon arrival they'll be friendly but they won't necessarily trust you… especially not if you somehow caught wind of some of their pasts. But don't bring trouble to their doorstep or endanger the children and everything should be fine and dandy. That being said, until you build up a decent reputation with them… they'll be keeping a real close eye on you.
(I'm still kinda brainstorming what kind of culture and beliefs might have formed over time, though I think creature or number based names might be common because the rogue Couriers mainly referred to themselves by numbers and Six is also Duckling (or Duck) and his little brother is Newt and the tracker they dubbed Fox, so... I dunno.)
(Basically my version of Courier Six and another character I dubbed Seven, before the last battle ended decided "this isn’t where I want to be or where we belong." And just brought along with them anyone who wanted to get out of that nightmare too. And kept moving until they felt safe and far enough away from everything and everyone. Although the original intention was a Yes Man ending before they decided to just... leave the Mojave to figure itself out. Maybe they did get rid of the NCR general and Caesar before leaving or maybe they didn't. Depends the intended story that follows.)

Yoongi + "Do you even trust me? Because everytime you talk to me about them, it feels like you don't. " "[Name], I trust you more than I trust myself, believe me. It is them I'm wary of. " + fluffy (but very) angsty cause I like pain :D. Requested from this (love your work 💜 I just now you’ll do it perfectly [whenever inspiration hits you no rush] here’s a Yoongi smile for ya :]
pairing: min yoongi x reader
genre: angst, fluff
word count: 1.4k
a/n: well, this turned out longer than i intended lol. i changed the prompt a little bit to make it fit better, but i actually loved writing this soooo much, so thank you for requesting it! i hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Visiting Yoongi’s hometown was always fun, and the family gatherings that were held whenever he visited home were even more of a blast. That you had learned over the last four years you had been dating him.
However, during this past year, you couldn’t help but feel some kind of tension on Yoongi’s end. He would always be all smiles until the rest of his family started to arrive, and you couldn’t quite put your finger on which family member made his entire aura change.
What made the whole situation worse was that you couldn’t bring yourself to actually ask him what was going on to try and help him ease the tension, for there was a chance you were just overthinking everything and would end up starting some kind of family drama over nothing.
Today was no different.
He had been just fine up until an hour ago — the big gummy smile covering his face as he talked with you over a glass of wine, being erased the moment his uncle and aunt arrived, each of them with their respective sons.
So, now, you watched him from afar as he comfortably sat on the couch and talked to a few family members. Although he was visibly enjoying whatever it was they were talking about, you could tell he was sulking, especially when he would look for you from time to time.
You only snapped back from your thoughts when his mum handed you a list of the things she had just asked to go get to the store around the corner, telling you to have Yoongi go with you. Before you could go up to your boyfriend, however, Sungho, one of Yoongi’s cousins, who had heard the conversation you were having with your mother in law, offered to go with you.
At the moment, it had seemed like a good idea.
“Your mum asked me to go get a few things on the store” you let Yoongi know, sitting down next to him on the couch.
He nodded. “I’ll go with you”.
Before you could protest, his hand was holding yours and he was excusing himself from his family.
“You don’t need to go with me. Go back to them, it’s okay” you stopped him before he could reach the front door.
“I can help you bring the bags” he mindlessly shrugged.
“It’s okay, really. Sungho offered to go with me”.
His whole body tensed up, and you were left wondering if maybe, just maybe, Sungho had been the one he had a problem with all along.
“He what?”
“He offered to go with me…” you repeated, slower this time, unsure.
“But I am your boyfriend” he empathized.
“So? We’re just getting a few things on the store around the corner, it’s no big deal”.
“If you’re going somewhere so close, then why can’t I go”.
“I never said you couldn’t go” you pointed out. “You were just talking to your family and he offered, so I figured I wouldn’t bother you”.
“You never bother me” he stated. “What bothers me is that you decided to go with him”.
Glancing over to where everyone was, hoping they wouldn’t have heard your small discussion, especially Yoongi’s last words, you let out a sigh.
“Let’s not make a scene right here”.
That was something he agreed with.
Without another word, and not letting go of your hand, he dragged you to his bedroom, closing the door behind him as you took a seat on his bed.
“I don’t understand what the big deal is” you began, watching him come close to you. “He’s your cousin and we’re just going to buy a few things”.
“The deal is that he has no right to go anywhere alone with you when I am your boyfriend”.
“I know you’re my boyfriend, Yoongi” you glared at him. “And I’m pretty sure Sungho knows, too. Fuck, your entire family knows we are together by now”.
“That means nothing”.
“How can that mean nothing?” you scoffed. “Seriously, Yoongi, you’re making a scene out of nothing. We would already be back from the grocery store if you weren’t acting like this”.
He shook his head, letting out a humorless laugh. “Would you now?”
“What are you trying to imply?” you raised one of your eyebrows.
“Nothing”.
“No, Yoongi. You can’t just not explain what you meant by that”.
“Nothing, okay? I meant nothing, it’s just…” he sighed, running a hand down his face. “He would’ve found a way to have you all to himself for a little longer”.
“Have me all to himself?” you repeated his words, both hurt and disbelief clear in your voice. “Who do you take me for?”
“No,” he panicked. “I didn’t mean it like that”.
“Didn’t you now?” you stood up, making him take a step back. “Tell me, do you even trust me? Because, right now, it really feels like you don’t”.
“I trust you more than I trust myself”.
You rolled your eyes, trying to walk past him and out of the room, yet not being able to as he tightly held your wrist.
“I do! Y/N, I trust you more than anything, believe me” he pleaded. “It’s him I'm wary of”.
“Isn’t that the same thing?” you quietly spoke, hurt suddenly overshadowing your anger and having you look down, away from his eyes. “If you trusted me, you would know I would stop him, or anyone for that matter, the second they made a move”.
“I know,” he softly spoke, pulling you to him and cupping your face — forehead gently resting on yours. “Baby, I know. I’m sorry, okay? I trust you, but I don’t want him to even get the chance to make a move”.
“How do you know he’s even going to?” you mumbled.
Yoongi let out a shaky breath, as if your mere question had brought him bad memories. And they did.
“He likes you” he mumbled. “A lot”.
“He what?”
“He likes you” he repeated, wishing he would not ever have to say those words again. “He told me himself, and I… I mean, you’re mine”.
“I’m n—”
“Don’t give me your feminist speech right now” his warning earned an amused roll of eyes from you. “I know you don’t actually belong to anyone but yourself, but… you are mine, in a way”.
Shaking your head at how hopelessly cute he looked right there, you cupped his face as well, pressing a soft kiss to his nose before your thumbs gently caressed his cheeks.
“I am yours, you dork” your confession got a gummy smile from him. “Which is why I don’t understand what does it even matter that he likes me”.
“I… heard him tell his brother once that if I didn’t watch out, he would take you from me”.
You snorted. “As if he could”.
Your immediate reaction had seemed to bring him the reassurance he needed. Locking eyes with you, he smiled, letting out a chuckle of his own as his hands travelled down to your waist, tenderly wrapping around it.
“He’s an asshole, and he’s got a serious superiority complex if he believes for even a second that he would be able to take me away from you”.
Letting out a giggle this time, he pressed a small kiss to your forehead before he pulled you against his chest — arms tightening around you in the warmest of hugs.
“That’s my girl”.
You let out a contented sigh at the sound of that, tightly wrapping your arms around him as well and burying your face in the crook of his neck.
“I love you, okay?” your voice came out muffled. “So stop worrying about him”.
“I love you more” he whispered, having you plant a kiss on his hot skin — with just that, letting him know those words meant the world to you.
“Can I go get what your mum asked me to now?” you asked. “She loves me and I don’t wanna change that by taking too long and making her mad”.
You felt his chest tremble against yours as he silently laughed, then pulling slightly back so he could look at you with a questioning eyebrow. “Are you still going with him?”
“Nope, I’m going with you” you pecked his pink lips. “From now on, I’m showing him my heart belongs to Min Yoongi and Min Yoongi only”.
“Gross”.

It was an understatement to say that Richie was protective of you.  The boy was downright insane about it.  Everyone in Derry knew not to fuck with (y/n), not unless they wanted Richie Tozier tracking them down and beating them half to death.
You’d given him a talk numerous times.  But not once did they work, it always went in one ear and out the other..
He’d beaten up three ex boyfriends, a couple guys that looked at you the wrong way, and Greta Keene.  He was proud of that amount.
But he’d promised that he would try his best not to act out on your behalf anymore.  And you made him pinky promise.  That’s a big deal.  And he didn’t want to break your trust or your promise.
However… once he walked past Henry Bowers and his dumbass friends, and heard your name being mentioned, he couldn’t stop himself from getting involved.
“What was that?” He spoke before he could think things through.
The boys turned to him, each bearing a scowl that wasn’t out of character.
“I said, (y/n’s) not fucking worth it,” Henry practically growled out.  “Now why don’t you fuck off, Tozier?”
“Your damn fucking right it’s not worth it,” Richie spat back, turning away, doing the right thing.  “I’d break your goddamn nose” He muttered under his breath.
“It’s not worth it to try and get in her pants,” Henry called out before Richie could walk far enough away.
He stopped in his tracks.
“Cause she’s such a slut anyways, it’s not a real victory to fuck-”
Richie had never whipped around so fast.  And with the punch he delivered went all common sense, and all the promises and reassurances he’d given you to prove he was going to ‘mature’ as you’d begged him to do. ___
“Hey, Richie,” You held your phone between your ear and shoulder as you painted your toes.  “This is like, my fifth message… so… call me back, I guess.  Okay, bye”
You sighed as you set the phone back on it’s holster.  Richie wasn’t the type of guy to stand you up, especially on taco tuesday.  And even if something came up, he always always, called.  But now he couldn’t even bother to return one of your calls, leaving you to assume that he was upset with you for some reason, and therefore ignoring you.
You weren’t sure what you did, and at this point, you also weren’t sure that he was going to tell you either.
When Richie didn’t want to talk to someone, he was the damn best at avoiding them.
But he’d never given you the cold shoulder.  And there was a time that you’d thought he never would.  Richie was your best friend, you trusted and confided in him more than anyone else, even the other Losers.  And in the last seven years of being his best friend, he’d never treated you this way.  In fact, he always treated you amazingly, like a princess, it was very surprising actually, the way he cared about you.
It was that care that always led him to picking fights where he shouldn’t be, though.  It started with your ex boyfriend.  He broke up with you once a ‘better, prettier’ girl showed interest (his words), and the next thing you knew, Richie was throwing him against the lockers.
When your next boyfriend straight up cheated on you, Richie took care of him too.
He broke the third one’s nose.
And then there was the Greta Keene incident… Beverly may have let it slip that Greta had been writing nasty rumors about you in the girls bathrooms.  And Richie declared that he didn’t have a problem beating up a girl if it was justified (and if that girl had man arms).  That was when you drew the line, and made Richie swear to try and control his anger.  And he pinkie promised to work on it, and that he wouldn’t get into any more fights over you.
You weren’t sure why he got so enraged over these things.  It was just drama, and you found it pointless that he tried to bring you justice, since he was so reckless about it.
It was getting late, and you knew that Richie wasn’t going to return your calls.  So you finished painting your toenails blue, and decided to spend the night in your room, reading, alone.
Even though you should have been eating a bunch of tacos and gossiping with Richie.
Just as you got situated in bed, and had turned off the overhead light in exchange for the soft glow of your lamp on the bedside table, there was a knock on the window.
When you glanced over, you could tell it was Richie by his silhouette, and you frowned slightly.
Nonetheless, you got up and unlocked the window, before sliding it open.
“Where the hell have you been?” You asked.
He could tell that you couldn’t see his face very well.
“Busy, you gonna let me in?” He grinned.
“Richie, it’s-” You glanced over your shoulder to the alarm clock on your table, before glaring back at him.  “-midnight.  Are you kidding me? Did I do something to piss you off?”
“What? (y/n/n), no-”
“Then how come you were dodging all my calls? And you’re seven hours late?” You asked, crossing your arms over your chest..
Richie crawled in through the window, even though you hadn’t invited him in yet.  But he figured it was only a matter of time before you cave anyways.
Your distressed face disappeared as you caught sight of him now that he was in the light.  His left eye was bruising, and so was his right cheekbone.  Along with a split lip and a bloody nose, it was clear what had happened.
“Oh, Richie…” You mumbled, hand reaching up to cover your mouth as your eyes widened at the sight of him.  “Tell me you didn’t-”
“Look it’s not what you think-” Richie tried to protest.
“Don’t give me that shit”
He knew he fucked up, because you weren’t yelling.  Your voice was soft, and low.  You were heartbroken.
He stared down at the ground, too anxious to look at you anymore.  Not when you looked so disappointed in him.
“You promised- you-you pinky promised me-”
“I know-! I know and I’m sorry, really, I’m really fucking sorry” He told you, desperately hoping that you’d forgive him.
You shook your head at him, and gestured for him to sit before you left the room.  Richie was the most frustratingly complicated person that you knew, and it drove you insane.  Why he couldn’t just walk away and not beat the shit out of people… you weren’t sure.  But it really hurt you that he didn’t even seem to try, and he broke his promise.
Richie was sitting on the side of your bed when you came back into the room.  He chuckled as he eyed the first aid kit in your hands, the same one that you’ve used the last four or five times you dealt with the aftermath of his episodes of rages.
“You don’t have t-”
“Yes I do” You cut him off and unpacked what you’d need.
You were upset, you were fuming, actually.  It angered you that Richie broke his promise, not even a month after making it.  That promise was important to you, because he was important to you.  And now here he was, waiting to be fixed up by you once again after he so stupidly, so recklessly got himself beaten to a pulp.
But no matter how angry you were, you remained silent.  Dabbing at the excess blood under his nose, which at least wasn’t bleeding anymore.  And when you were finished with his cheek, you moved on to rubbing cream over the bruise on his cheek.  Richie’s eyes fell shut as he sighed in relief at the feeling of the cool lotion, and your gentle fingers.
He knew your silence wasn’t a good thing.  In fact, it was the worst thing.  It meant he messed up beyond redemption.  And he’d never fucked up that bad before.  Sure, he’d pissed you off and frustrated you on the daily, but that was just the hallmark of his friendship, and it was never anything serious.  Just when he dragged you out in the middle of the night for slushies, or got you in trouble in class because he was running his mouth.  He’d never made you this genuinely upset before.
“(y/n)-”
“Save it” You muttered before he could even start with the apologies.
That was another hallmark of his friendship.  You knew what came next.  The apologies, the excuses, the begging for your forgiveness, followed by a playful ‘you know you love me, you need me’ and puppy dog eyes that you couldn’t refuse.  Except tonight, you might just be able to.
He took you by surprise when he didn’t protest, and snapped his mouth shut.  Your eyes met his for a moment, before you started applying a smaller amount of lotion on the bruise surrounding his eye.  It was going to look a lot worse in the morning, but this would help with the pain now.
You hated that your heart ached for him right now.  You hated that you wanted to cry and hold him and make him feel better.  Because you were so fucking mad-
“I don’t understand,” The words suddenly spilled out of your mouth, as if your mind just couldn’t take them swimming around in your head anymore.  “I just- I- I don’t fucking get it”
He nodded, ducking his head down, only for you to lift it back up by his chin and continue with the lotion.
“I care about you, dumbass, and all I asked, which I thought was simple, all I asked was for you to stop with the fighting-”
“I know” He mumbled back.
You stared at him skeptically, wondering if he really did know, or if he’d show up again in a few weeks with the same battered face and guilty look in his eyes.  Richie didn’t look back at you.  He couldn’t.
“Who?” You asked, trying to soften your voice so he wouldn’t whither away from you like he was doing right now.
“You’re not gonna like it” Richie answered, fingers pinching at your bedsheets in an attempt to distract himself.  From the pain that burned across his whole face, or from the intensity in your eyes, he wasn’t sure, but he needed the distraction.
He hadn’t had a smoke in months, but it sounded pretty damn good right now.
“Well, newsflash, I don’t like any of this,” You told him.  “But I think I deserve to at least know what happened”
Of course you do, Richie hung his head in his hands.  You deserve so, so much better.
You watched as he rubbed his palms over his eyes, and it took everything in your power not to take his hands and hold them in yours, to tell him it was okay and you forgave him.
“Bowers”
He muttered the single word without even looking at you.  But he didn’t have to look at you to know exactly what you looked like in that moment.  You probably had a dropped jaw and furrowed brows.  Disappointment, disgust, anger, all displayed in one heartbreaking look.
“Richie…” You murmured without meaning to.  “Why? Why would you-”
“I had to, okay?” He shot up suddenly.  “I know that you hate it, and as soon as I swung I- I knew I fucked up, but I had to”
You wanted to argue it, argue that there’s always another option, that he can always walk away.  But you bit your tongue.  Something about the way he spoke told you that there was more to this than his stupidity.
“I’m sorry, (y/n/n), I am.  But I… I don’t regret it”
Your heart sunk all the way down to your stomach.  Richie had such a toll on your emotions and he didn’t even know it.
“Tell me what happened” You said quietly, and shifted closer to him.
You wanted him to know he had your undivided attention, and that he should have the chance to at least explain what happened.  You pulled your leg up to rest on the mattress, and turned your body to face him.
Richie looked at you before looking back down at his hand, which was now fisted in your blankets.
“Richie,” You hummed, brows furrowing as you saw how reluctant he was to opening up.  “Tell me” The words were so soft, it was almost inaudible.
You wondered what Henry could have done that Richie didn’t want to tell you about.  He must have really outdone himself.
“He was just talking shit-”
“Richie,” You cut off his bullshit before he could even start.  “Come on, the truth”
“It’s not-”
“I deserve to know, Tozier! Whatever it is, I don’t care, okay? Just tell me-”
“He said you weren’t worth sleeping with!”
Just like that, you’d gotten him to snap.
And you shut up instantly, shocked by the outburst.  His words processed slowly in your head.
“He said it wasn’t worth trying because you’re- because you’re a slut, and it wasn’t fucking true!” Richie continued to yell.  Not at you, he just couldn’t contain his own anger anymore.
And you thought you were pissed.
“Motherfucker had your name in his nasty fucking mouth and he was telling his buddies fucking lies and I couldn’t- fuck I couldn’t walk away.  I should’ve fucking killed him”
You were staring at him, speechless.  You should’ve known it was about you, Richie was always so fiercely protective of you.  And Henry’s wouldn’t be the first nose that he’d broken protecting you.  But this wasn’t like before.  He’d beaten on your ex boyfriends after they broke your heart.  Henry hadn’t said or done anything to you, he was just doing what boys do.  (Make shit up because they think it makes them impressive when really they’re even shittier than they look)
“I didn’t mean to break your promise,” Richie huffed.  His face was slightly flushed after his mini tantrum.  His hands grabbed both of yours, holding them close to him.  “I’m so sorry I put you through this again”
You were still silent, but he knew this wasn’t a bad silence.  You were still processing, still trying to figure out how to forgive him while making sure this was the last time he crawls through your window looking like this.
“I hope you know that it came from a place of- of caring about you,” He added.  “Caring about you too much, I guess” He mumbled as an afterthought.
Your stupid lovesick heart skipped a beat at the sweet words.  Richie wasn’t one for words, at all, but he somehow managed to say the most loving things without even realizing it.
“I can’t promise it won’t happen again, that much is clear.  And if Bowers says one more goddamn thing about your ass I’ll fucking string him up- I will- but I can promise I’ll try, okay? I will, I’ll really try”
He squeezed your hands a little bit, hoping you believed him, hoping you trusted him.
Your eyes flickered between his for a moment, and you could see in them that he was being sincere, and that he was broken up over hurting you.
“You…” He started to speak, but trailed off unsurely.  “You deserve better” He finished.
His eyes flickered to yours for a brief moment, before he turned away.
You shake your head, before you let go of one of his hands, and took his chin between your thumb and index finger, turning him to look back at you.
“(y/n/n)-”
You cut him off when you leaned in and gently kissed him, trying to be mindful of his split lip.
Richie’s eyes remained focused on your closed ones, too stunned to close them, or really kiss her back.
He wanted to kick himself when you pulled away.  He managed to miss his fucking chance because he was too slow to do anything about it.
Your eyes fluttered open in such a beautiful way Richie swore you were holding his heart in your perfect little hands.
His brows were furrowed like you’d confused him, and you absolutely had.  He hadn’t expected you to kiss him.
“Why’d you do that?” He asked breathlessly, and your cheeks burned pink.
Your shoulders raised a bit in a shrug, and you had to bite your lip to keep from smiling too much.
“I just… wanted to” You whispered.
A smile twitched on the corner of Richie’s lips before his hand cupped your cheek, and he pulled you in again, so he could kiss you right this time.
Your lips were just as soft, if not softer, than he’d imagined they’d be.  And he’d imagined countless times what they’d feel like.  Daydreaming in class, before he fell asleep, and being right by your side for the last seven years.
Kissing you was bliss.
He did it again, taking your face in both of his hands and pulling you impossibly closer.  He could feel your lips smiling against his own, and once again, his heart was beating out of his chest trying to get to yours.
“I’m in love with you, (y/n/n)” He murmured when you parted, and you laughed softly.
“That makes sense,” You replied, reaching a hand up to play with the curls on the back of his neck.  “And… I love you too”
Richie gave you a sunshine smile, which you couldn’t help but return.
“I’m still upset, by the way,” You told him, still playing with the curls.  “But only cause I’m tired of seeing you covered in bruises, okay?”
He nodded, and you leaned your cheek further against the palm of his hand.
“I promise to try” He said, and then raised his pinky.
You looked from his hand and then back to him, a slight glare in your eyes.
“Come on, just do it,” He urged, you rolled your eyes, but he was persistent.  “Just link fuckin’ pinkies with me”
With a giggle you hooked your pinky with his, and held it for a moment.
“You want to go get tacos now?” He asked, and you grinned, nodding your head.
“You read my mind” You answered, and followed him back out the window.
It dawned on you that Richie was both your lover and your fighter.  And he held those titles proudly.
As he took your hand and walked alongside you down the street, he decided there were no other title he’d want to be labeled, besides yours. ___
