As twilight surrenders to the deep night, the Moon, rising gracefully, begins its celestial dance, obscuring the majestic Regulus, as it reaches its zenith along the meridian. Blessed Full Moon!
Regulus (Alpha Leonis) is a quadruple star system and the brightest object in the constellation of Leo currently found at 00°09’ tropical Virgo, 05°06’ sidereal Leo. Regulus, latin "prince" or "little king," the Greek "Kardia Leontos" translating to the "Heart of the Lion'' stands as a beacon in the Leo constellation. Across civilizations, from Babylonian reverence as "Sharru" and "Lugal" to Persian recognition as "Miyan," the center of their cosmic quartet, Regulus commands attention. Its significance extends to the 10th Lunar Station, the "Brow of the Lion," ancient elections for matters of conquest, construction, childbirth, and healing.
Regulus, rules temperance, royalty, and victory. Its talismans, provide solace from sorrow, quell wrath, and bestow favor upon the wearer, as one of the most fortunate of the 15 Behenian stars. Elections with the Moon here were done for the destruction of enemies and the incarceration of captives, for the completion and fortification of buildings, for the ease of childbirth and the curing of infirmities. Virtue cannot be bought or stolen; it must be earned.
In his Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Agrippa says of Regulus talismans that they “make a [person] temperate, keep anger away, and give grace.” As the moon waxes towards its full splendor, though not in direct alignment with Regulus, it still traverses its Lunar Mansion, casting an ethereal glow over the night. And amidst this celestial spectacle, keen observers may catch a glimpse of Alphard, adding another layer of cosmic intrigue to the nocturnal canvas.

Hi Siren! So, Regulus is a fixed star and not an asteroid and fixed stars are not commonly used in western astrology and so I can explain what they are, but I am not going to do a in deep post about them into it because I don't qualify as a the best source on the subject (there's a module extra at my school on the subject but I still can't do it 😅).
1. What are Fixed Stars and How They Work:
Fixed stars are distant celestial objects in the night sky that appear to be stationary relative to each other and form the background against which the planets and other celestial bodies move. They are considered "fixed" because their positions change very slowly over time, about 1 degree every 72 years. Fixed stars are grouped into zodiacal and non-zodiacal constellations. These constellations have mythological narratives associated with them, known as catasterisms, which vary across cultures. These stars were traditionally an integral part of astrology, lost some significance over time, but are now regaining importance in astrological interpretation in the western astrology, as far as I, Julia, know, it has always had its place in Vedic astrology..
2. Different Cultures and Narratives:
Different cultures have unique narratives associated with the constellations. Even cultures with limited contact have narratives that share similarities, indicating a shared human connection to the stars. Western astrology often uses Greco-Roman mythological narratives for interpretation, incorporating elements from other mythologies as well.
3. Benefic and Malefic Fixed Stars:
Fixed stars can be classified as benefic or malefic based on their astrological influences. For example, Algol (β Persei) is considered one of the most malefic stars, associated with challenging and intense energies. In contrast, Spica is considered one of the most beneficial stars.
4. Precession of the Equinoxes and Positional Changes:
The precession of the equinoxes causes gradual shifts in the positions of stars and constellations over long periods of time. This phenomenon impacts the positions of stars in relation to zodiac signs and constellations, which can lead to differences in interpretations between traditional and modern astrology.
5. Astrological Implications:
Fixed stars can be used in horary astrology to provide insights into future events and projects, particularly when they align with significant points in the chart, like the Sun's conjunction with Regulus in Virgo. They offer indications about qualities such as authority, generosity, courage, and more.
6. Finding Fixed Stars in Your Birth Chart:
The positions of fixed stars in your birth chart are determined by factors such as their brightness, size, and their alignment with key points like the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, and Imun Coeli. Astrologers use methods like the Ptolemaic method to calculate these positions and offer insights into an individual's life and traits. But since I know you're not going to do the calculations by hand, you can look up fixed stars on astro.com or on my favorite program Pegasus (this program has a very early 00's interface, but it calculates very well and has the option in english and other languages).

Algol and Perseus
The rescuer and the demon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sebastiano Ricci Antonio Canova
Algol is the beta star of the constellation Perseus, currently sitting at 26° Taurus, known as “the demon star” or "blinking demon", its name comes from the arabic Al Ghul meaning "the demon". To hellenistic astrology it represents Medusa’s head, which Perseus holds on one hand, while on the other he has his sword. An important characteristic of Algol is that its glow has a regular variation, it loses half of its brightness for hours and then it gains back. It was believed by astrologers to be an eclipsing star, which means that another non-visible body would be orbiting it and therefore eclipsing its light from time to time. They were half right, because it was later discovered to be an eclipsing star system, and that Algol was actually 3 stars, just like the Gorgon sisters are three: the imortals Stheno and Euryale, and the mortal Medusa. This is such a hallmark of Algol that it gave its name to its class of eclipsing variable: Algol variable.
Eclipses are associated with death, basically because light in astrology is life-giving, and loss of light is death. But it’s interesting that it's frequently associated with the "demonic", capital punishment and decapitation. Algol is telling a story about the decapitation of a “demon”, just like the lunar nodes (Rahu and Ketu) do in the Jyotish tradition when they cause eclipses. Ptolemy only tells us that the constellation of Perseus is like Jupiter and Saturn. Although Robson agrees with Agrippa about Algol specifically being of the nature of Saturn-Jupiter, and “the most evil star in the heavens”, causing a lot of fear whenever we see it activated in a chart. But I’m not here to scare anybody, don’t worry. It’s difficult, but I’ll try to lighten this up, because the most overlooked fact about Algol is that it also protects and can make revolutions and revolutionary heros.
"Perseus is like Jupiter and Saturn: but the nebula, in the hilt of the sword, is like Mars and Mercury." (Ptolemy - Tetrabiblos) "It causes misfortune, violence, decapitation, hanging, electrocution and mob violence, and gives a dogged and violent nature that causes death to the native or others. It is the most evil star in the heavens" (Vivian E. Robson - The Fixed Stars and Constellations in Astrology)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Illustrations from Al-Sūfī's book of fixed stars
Eletrocution or electrical problems are an issue with eclipses and apparently also eclipsing star-systems like Algol. This is noted by Christopher Warnock about his Algol talismans:
"I have had multiple reports and have myself experienced Algol’s tendency to cause electrical and electronic interference when the talisman is first used.  I mysteriously lost my Internet connection for an hour and my electronic thermostat died.  One user had his entire block lose power.  Less frequently but still regularly clients have reported that while wearing their Algol talisman, “weird” or “freaky” people took one look at them and fled." (Christopher Warnock - Fixed star, Sign and Constellation Magic)
Other one of its proeminent themes is vengeance, or the dichotomy of justice vs vengeance, but the effect of reflecting back evil that's sent towards its direction, or of ending curses describes it better in my opinion. About the images of the fixed Behenian stars, Agrippa says that:
“Under Caput Algol, they made an image whose figure was the head of a man with a long beard, having a bloody neck. This brought the good outcome of petitions, gave the bearer boldness and nobility, preserved members of the body from injury, helped against sorceries, and reflected evil attempts and evil incantations from enemies”. (Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy - Eric Purdue's translation)

Piero di Cosimo
This protection side of the star is illustrated by the story of the champion Perseus not just decapitating the demon but using its head to free Andromeda from her chains and saving her and her city from another monster, and then Athena herself starts using the head of Medusa as a symbol on her shield. As established, this is a star of the nature of Jupiter and Saturn. The nature of Saturn is evidenced even by the names given to the star: demon, cacodaemon, which is also the greek name for the 12th house. Imprisonment, monstruosity and madness are clearly the most important Saturn and 12th house themes. But Algol is a protective star, particularly in astrological magic, although I'll show how this kinda manifests in nativities as well. Algol is mainly of a jupiterian nature, that's why it does liberates. The head is an evil daemon but also a protection amulet. This is interesting regarding the eclipsing factor and the similarity of the significations with the Jyotish Rahu and Ketu. In western astrology the nodes are considered to have effects like Jupiter and Saturn, and the topic of imprisonment-liberation is explored in the dynamic of the two*.
With the new interpretations of the Medusa myth, some astrologers say that Algol can be about "female rage" or "dark feminine", or "feminine jealousy" etc. I think this is one of the stories that people mix the astrological meaning with the morality of the greek myth associated with the star the most. The greek myth is not really the star and the star is not the greek myth. In my opinion, you always must take into consideration that some things can be just the way the greeks or romans viewed a certain theme, and of course they would put a violated woman to represent a monster on a mindless vendetta, and it's not meant to be complimentary. I believe that's already way beyond Algol's effects, it could be just their misogyny projected onto the stars. I can think of examples where I can see that kind of story taking place, but that doesn’t mean that the star is about those things, but just that this is one possibility because we live in patriarchy and things around women's issues can get ugly in an Algol manner. The star can be about capital punishment, monstruosity, madness, captivity, violation, injustice, vengeance, evil daemonic influences etc, but it's not really about cishet women. So, even though I’m also using the greek myth here, I’m not giving the most importance to the detail that it is a story about a woman receiving unfair punishment and that there's a lack of comradery between women, because I'm interested in the star beyond what greeks and romans said, because the stars can’t be represented by just one hegemonic narrative. A lot of other cultures had their different stories about Algol, the Medusa one isn’t special to the point that we could assume every detail about it, even its moral issues (which are also in this case suffering a bit from anachronism), has meaning for the star associated.
Perseus is a spring time constellation very near the bull (taurus), and that may sound too nice for such a scary one. But in babylonian astrology, the stars of Perseus actually formed the constellation of the Old Man, who also held a decapitated head and a rod instead of a sword. Of it, Gavin White has an interesting perspective to share:
“At this time of natural abundance, the earth was thought to ‘open up’ in order to yield her bounty, but to the archaic mind this opening up was accompanied by a host of dangers, chief of which was the potential pollution from the dead who could gain easy access to the upper worlds at this pivotal time. In light of this belief, I would suggest that the Old Man, with his wand and prophylactic head, is banishing the ghosts of the old year and driving them back to the underworld.”
Tumblr media
Illutration from Gavin White's Babylonian Star-Lore
There's a lot of examples of charts for literal decapitation or capital punishment, injuries to the head or neck area as obvious manifestations of the star: The most famous is probably the catholic Saint George, who is said to have been executed by decapitation on April 23 back when that was the time of year when the Sun would conjunct Algol, and he later became associated with the constellation. Back then, Algol was at 2° Taurus. Gianni Versace, who had Algol on the descendant, famously made Medusa the logo of his brand and also died with a bullet to the head. Freud had Mercury with Algol, his 8th house ruler, and he died with throat cancer. Nick Yarris, who spent two decades on death row after he was wrongfully convicted of murder, has the Sun with Algol. Patrick Henry had Jupiter, and he was a murderer whose case influenced the abolition of the death penalty in France, which was done by the method of guillotine until its abolition. He was defended by Robert Badinter, who was an activist against the death penalty and could sucessfully propose its abolition in 1981. Badinter has Jupiter with the alpha of Andromeda in the first house. France has a thing with decapitation, some of the charts for its republics have either Algol or Mirfak activated, the alpha star of Perseus.
Algol and Madness
But I want to talk about Algol's special relationship with madness, in the demonized/criminalized sense, because after all, "the demon" is unwanted, it frequently represents the marginalized and their opression. In Brazil's history, especially during the military dictatorship organized and imposed by usamerican capitalist imperialism, asylums imprisoned and tortured mainly black people, women and queer people. Some asylums got so overwhelmed that they became concentration camps, like the famous case of Hospital Colônia in Barbacena, known as the Brazilian Holocaust case, where people died by the thousands from starvation, hypothermia, anemia, STI's, untreated diseases from the lack of hygiene etc. Some important psychiatrists, psychologists, psychoanalysts have Algol activated by some planet. Freud has Mercury, Fritz Perls has Jupiter, David Healy, who literally has a book titled "The Decapitation of Care", has Venus. But what's more interesting to me is the protection element of Algol in some cases and its role in mad liberation movements, after all, Perseus is a liberator. Algol shows up in very important people in the pysch field who question medical power and have antipsych views, and on important events of the psychiatric reform.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hospital Colônia de Barbacena - MG
Franco Basaglia, the main responsible for the dismantling of psychiatric hospitals and for the psychiatric reform all over Europe and in Brazil, had the Moon with Algol in the 10th house, representing his deeds, while ruling the 12th. In Italy, the Law 180 (Basaglia Law), the Psychiatric Reform law that determined the progressive extinction of asylums throughout the italian territory, was sanctioned with the Sun on Algol. In Brazil, on May 18, 1987, the exact day of the year that the Sun conjuncts Algol, a meeting of mental health workers at a conference was the major milestone for Brazilian health reform and the anti-asylum movement. And since that event, May 18th has become our national anti-asylum movement day, and it becomes more and more culturally relevant as a day to discuss psychiatric reform and the fight to guarantee the rights and autonomy of mental patients.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marches on May 18th
An important activist, Austregésilo Bueno, born with the Sun with Algol, survivor of compulsory hospitalization in asylums in the 70s, wrote a book "Canto dos Malditos" about his horrible experiences as a psychiatric patient treated with eletroshock therapy (another one of Algol's effects). He had his book adapted to film and his story played by the actor Rodrigo Santoro, who has Algol on the Ascendant. The name of the film is Brainstorm in English, but I find the original "Bicho de Sete Cabeças" much more compelling. It's a truly devastating story, and it's the story of thousands unfortunately.
One thing about Saturn and madness is the recurring idea of wearing masks. Masks and theatre have always been associated with Saturn. Saturnalia was a roman festival where all the roles switched, where kings pretended to be fools and fools pretended to be kings. In modern astrology Saturn ended up associated a lot with a raw and harsh reality, disregarding the most mystical and unreal characteristics of Saturn that have always been present. Although life, reality, identity and reason are always a performance, we're always wearing a mask and performing life. There's a point in the movie "Bicho de Sete Cabeças" when the protagonist is having a difficult time on his first days of being an inmate, he's fighting too much against the forced treatment and expressing too much unsatisfaction with his imprisonment, thus getting even more forcebly medicated and punished by the staff. At this point one of the older inmates shares an important advice with him:
"You have to pretend, who in this world doesn't pretend? You have to say that you're in a good mood, you have to say that you're not hungry, you have to say that you don't have a toothache, you have to say that you're not afraid, otherwise you can't do it, you can't do it. No doctor ever told me that hunger and poverty can lead to mental disorders, but those who don't eat become nervous, those who don't eat and see their family go without eating can go crazy, a discontentment can lead to madness, a death in the family, the abandonment of the great love. We even need to pretend to be insane when we're insane, pretend to be a poet when we're a poet."
It's a powerful speech about the farce of medicine's ownership over the subject of madness, the farce of reason and that it must subjugate or dominate madness. Pretending and acting out the platonic ideal behavior at all situations under all circumstances, as if it's normal, that's the only way anyone is seen as sane.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bicho de Sete Cabeças (2000)
Another important date in brazillian history is the 13th of May 1888, the day of the passing of the law that abolished slavery, which also had Algol activated by the Sun. This was obviously not the definite end of slavery and not the end of the struggle of black brazilians, just like the Basaglia Law didn't mean mad liberation, but I'm just demonstrating how powerful Algol is to protect from evil and put an end to injustice in an official and legislative manner. Like Saint George defeating the dragon, Perseus defeats a monster that is impossible to defeat, the "impossible victory" and liberation is recurrent in the stories linked to it. Systemic opression and injustices a lot of times seem like impossible problems, it becomes harder and harder to imagine a world where they don't exist, but Algol events revolutionize the impossible.
"The important thing is that we have proven that the impossible becomes possible. Ten, fifteen, twenty years ago it was unthinkable that a mental hospital could be destroyed. Maybe mental hospitals will return to being closed and more closed than before, I don't know, but in any case we have demonstrated that the mad can be cared for in another way, and testimony is fundamental. I don't think that the fact that an action manages to energize itself means that it has been won. The important point is another, it is that now we know what can be done." (Franco Basaglia - Conferenze brasiliane)
An important honorable mention should be made to Carlos Marighella, a guerrilheiro in the resistance of the brazilian military dictatorship who was executed before he could see our democratization. He had Mars with Algol.
"The urban guerrilheiro is an implacable enemy of the government and inflicts systematic harm on authorities and men who dominate and exercise power. The main work of the urban guerrilheiro is to distract, tire and demoralize the military, the military dictatorship and repressive forces, and also attack and destroy the wealth of north americans, foreign managers, and the Brazilian upper class. But the fundamental and decisive characteristic of the urban guerrilheiro is that he is a man who fights with weapons; given this condition, there is little chance that he will be able to pursue his normal profession for a long time or the reference of the class struggle, since it is inevitable and necessarily expected, the armed conflict of urban guerrilla against the essential objectives: A. The physical extermination of the leaders and assistants of the armed forces and the police. B. The expropriation of government resources and those who belong to the big capitalists, landowners, and imperialists, with small expropriations used to maintain the individual urban guerrilheiro and large expropriations for the support of the same revolution. (Carlos Marighella - Manual do Guerrilheiro Urbano)
Algol in Cannes

Lunga in Bacurau (2019), the first queer Perseus I know
I’ve said here before how much I love Bacurau. The movie premiered in Cannes, on May 15, 2019, at 10 pm**. This is a chart full of fixed stars, with the Sun with Algol in the 6th house. You'll find in the film the Algol classic of extreme injustice being overcome. But one curious thing is that the Cannes Film Festival always happens around the same time of year when the Sun is at the last degrees of Taurus and beginning of Gemini, making a lot of the movies premiered at Cannes have Algol activated. And it shows. It’s a great opportunity to watch how varied the Algol themes can be. On that same year of 2019, they had: THE DEAD DON’T DIE by JIM JARMUSCH, a pretty obvious Algol zombie movie, whom you defeat by cutting off the head, of course; LES MISÉRABLES by LADJ LY, inspired by a real-life event of police violence that inspired the 2005 riots in Paris, it seems to have a very radicalized discourse about raging against violent injustices; ATLANTIQUE (ATLANTICS) by MATI DIOP has dead unpaid workers coming back as spirits possessing their city’s inhabitants to take vengeance on the tycoon who withheld their payment; LITTLE JOE by JESSICA HAUSNER is a film about a lab created flower that alters people's behavior in strange ways, and these last two kinda have the feeling of that "spring danger" Gavin White talks about. DOLOR Y GLORIA (PAIN AND GLORY) by PEDRO ALMODÓVAR has Antonio Banderas as the protagonist who develops dysphagia, caused by a caucified growth in his neck. Etc. And these are all just some of the 2019 films. I haven't watched most of them, but you can always look for the films which had their first screenings around 14-20 of May and they'll be rich in Algol content.
So, I'll leave you with that: a bunch of movie recommendations. Thank you for reading.

TENTH LORD in VENUS NAKSHATRAS
As always, recorded for my own benefit, published for yours. Sidereal placements used. General disclaimer is in my bio. Credit to KRSchannel for inspiring this series.
Find your 10th lord here, and find your 10th lord's nakshatra here.
The 10th house rules our life's honor. It represents the services we perform for society as well as the reputation we earn as a result. It is associated with the father and the career because traditionally, this is where both our standing in society and the role we performed in society would come from - inherited through the father's family line. However, in our contemporary world, this isn't always the case, which is why it's important to know the grander themes at play.
The three Venus-ruled nakshatras are Bharani, Purva Phalguni, and Purva Ashadha.
Venus is a planetary object that represents one's ideals and values. It is where we seek harmony and practice negotiation. We must look to Venus for earthly matters - beauty, pleasure, but also wealth and business. Venus is sensual and romantic, but also practical and tangible. Above all, it is not just about what is appealing, but what is useful. Hence, Venus has correlations not just to the arts, and to music, but also to mathematics, finance, logistics, and real estate.
Do you have your 10th lord in a Venus-ruled nakshatra? That means you...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Priscilla Presley, Carrie Fisher, and Chloe Sevigny all have their tenth lords in Venus ruled nakshatras. Priscilla's is in Bharani, Carrie's is in Purva Phalguni, and Chloe's is in Purva Ashadha.
... rely on your in-born charms, connections, as well as cooperative abilities to navigate public life.
Individuals with this placement are era-defining trend-setters. They have particular opinions about the way everything is done, and are talented at coming up with ways to improve the world, but actually gritting their teeth and implementing real change does not come quite as naturally. Work bores them, but they negotiate brilliantly. They may get distracted by their own need for entertainment.
When it comes to famous natives with this placement, it all boils down to relationships, relationships, relationships. In some cases, this means nepotism babies. It might be that a famous partner or friend puts them in the public eye. Other times it just means they are such a pleasure to work with, people keep recommending them to others in need. It helps that these people are usually generous and willing to lend their services however they can. However, they can fail to take their responsibilities seriously.
More on the specifics of Bharani, Purva Phalguni, and Purva Ashadha below!
If BHARANI RULES the TENTH LORD, you...

Your profession surrounds you with beauty, or increases yours.
You like to keep your public and private life separate, and are thought of as mysterious or coy in the workplace because of it.
Superiors and peers actually react more favorably to public or professional projects you've procrastinated on.
Traveling for work usually goes poorly for you - everything that can go wrong will go wrong, late flights, traffic jams, accidents, or maybe the journey is so boring it throws you off your game.
You end up interacting with children a fair amount regardless of whether you actually like them or are in a related profession.
BHARANI is the Star of Restraint. Industries and career types favored are those involving food, child and animal care, midwifery, anything involving birth and/or death, event-based entertainment like dance and theme parks, contracting, and the court system.

and you may find...
You tend to meet your significant others at work or through the public sphere, such as at political events or through the state.
Inheritance plays a role in the way you interact with the public - whether such you leave or such you attain, or maybe even just in that you have to deal with a lot of nepotism in your field.

Can be driven to great passions by politics and by your career, both out of frustration and out of concern or enthusiasm.
Highly value popularity, and may seek local or national fame as a means of validating your overall worth.
and you may find...
Engaging with the public through volunteering and service has a cleansing effect on you in an emotional and spiritual capacity.
Simply being present seems to fan the flames of excitement of the workplace or in public - whether conflicts or celebrations.
You have a natural intuition for sensing the secrets or fears of coworkers, and of your society as a whole, but this does not extend to yourself - often, you have to have your own flaws or unhappiness pointed out to you by others in public settings.
You feel forced to settle for less than you deserve in return for your service, which leaves you sensitive to having other forms of control taken away, driving you to acting obstinate or inflexible.
Persuasion, especially of peers and the public, comes naturally.
Overseas travel for work or for service actually go more smoothly for you than those that require journeys only over land.
PURVA ASHADHA is the Invincible Star. Industries and career types favored are those involving motivation, management, art, pop culture, processing, hosting, debate, trade, public speaking, water and hydration, and travel or shipping by air and sea.
Hope this was helpful. Feel free to message with any questions, thoughts, or ideas. Part 3, focusing on 10th Lords with Sun Nakshatras, will be next! ♡

personal observation: if any of your asteroids/fixed stars falls in an empty house in your chart, it kind of lights up that house with its energy. it makes sense from an earthly perspective: if the planets are not at a specific point in the night sky, you’d be able to see all the stars in the dark.
but hey, take it if it’s accurate for you 💞 and comment/reblog asteroids you think get highlighted in your chart :)

ALGOL - Divine Femininity and the Power of Creation
Algol sits at the 26 degrees in taurus.
Algol is known as the "demon star" and is connected to the head of medusa but she is so much more than a castrophic star that brings hell to the planet.
'Algol' is a star of the most divine feminine energy on the entire sphere. It rejoices in the cosmic universe and creates from its darkness. Like the womb in the belly of women, we create from here and eventually we birth it into our reality.
What makes Algol a star of divine feminine energy?
She is connected to the Mother. Serpent/Dragon energy. Creatrix and is connected to art and beauty.
Most who fear this star never travel deep into the unknown, however this star teaches you is that the unknown is like getting to the garden of eden and finding the apple that gives you life.
Fixed Star Algol is a major point in the sky, its 'demon' traits are chaotic/yin energy and nothing to be afraid of. When Mother (Earth) is tired of our shit what is she going to do? bring chaos. which is what this star represents in a number of ways.
This chaos can come through art because it is very yin, and the language that it speaks is far bigger than what the 'name' of this star.
ALGOL - AL-KU-HOL - SPIRITS
I noticed with this fixed star that drugs, wine and alcohol play a big part here. im speaking of people who have this placement strongly. Any planet. Not just your big three.
This fix star is heavily connected the spiritual realm and the psychical realm gets a taste of this vibrant energy each time the sun passes through here.
The energy/frequency I would like to dip into with this star is Adam/Eve Tree of Knowledge/Life Serpent/Transformation Phoenix/Dragon Medusa and Lilith energy here. Yeah that was a lot. bare with me.
You travel through depths to get to where you are with this star conjunct your sun, moon, rising and venus. Lilith energy literally rises within you. It connects you the the tree of knowledge. In the Bible these are all metaphors, so metaphorically speaking, you carry the knowledge in the womb and are a creator who connects to the source of the universe. All that you are is mother in the flesh, but more in the mind and spirit. You are bound to go through the waters of the serpents and transform with each valley that you cross.
You are not scared to go deep into your shadow, in fact when you get use to it you may succumb to it more. THIS is where your power comes from. Your fears are transmuted into POWER. Your pain turns into POWER. You are what? POWER. And you are a walking force who connects to the energy of the Mother!
You are deeply connected to the roots of this soil and also cosmic and can see into the ethereal realms. You know the underworld because you been there, you know the higher realms because you've traveled there, and you come back to us in this earthly realm and show it to us be it expression, art, soul, style, music, dance, emotions etc. your rage is your truth and you can wear it as you like.
all your powerful emotions can be used in the form of creating something new. it is castrophic but also beautiful. your energy is feared by many but we see how powerful your aura is.
If you have this fix star connected to your sun, moon or rising. You are literally that energy walking among us everyday. every. damn. day.
now I WILL say this with fix stars is that you can tap into them at any time, Algol seems to show up and come through you at the right time if you have this placement. You tend to have an aura that scares people but are fascinated with you at the same time. Who is like this... Lilith :)
The energy is very dark. do not take this as bad or evil because it is not. Dark energy is also yin, yin is feminine. They go hand in hand.
I want to touch on Medusa but I will save it for another time. What I can say is (or may I will argue that) Medusa is another form of Lilith. She was casted aside and was lied on because her power was too much for some, so she became a 'monster' who could turn you into stone.
This is how people with this fix star walk among us. Your energy is that powerful, that mesmerizing you literally have people at their knees im not playing.

is there any significance in degrees for planets and signs in your natal chart? if so, what are the meanings behind them?
yes!!!!! and there's more than one way to consider them so i'm just going to mention what comes right to mind.
the most important thing about them is when things have the same degree (even in different signs) as each other because these will be the tight aspects, the strongest interactions in your chart.
the 29th and 0 degrees of any sign are also important, this is where things get wrapped up and started fresh. you can look up critical and anaretic degrees. sometimes critical degrees include some additional degrees but i find that none of them are as useful as 29 and 0.
also you can look into the sabian symbols. personally i don't use these much, but they are interesting to look at and think about. there is a sabian symbol for every degree of the sky.
and also you can look into fixed stars. these actually do move slightly, very very slowly over many many years due to the solar system's motion through the galaxy. but pretty much each star is at its own degree for the long haul. people get especially worked up about algol, spica, sirius, fomalhaut, and regulus, but there are loads of fixed stars, each of which has its own special (usually intense) meaning.

A star is about to explode
Tumblr media
The Blaze Star is about to go nova in the Northern Crown. For a day, this faint star will become as bright as the North Star. In the past, a new star appearing in the sky was a major omen and people would pay close attention to it, but people rarely understood that it could be a recurrent phenomenon.
Recurrent nova explosions basically happen when a star experiences a large explosion that is nonetheless not big enough to destroy it. In the case of the Blaze Star what happens is that a small white dwarf is orbiting close to a much bigger red giant star. The red dwarf has an “accretion disk” of chemicals around it and as the Blaze Star travels through it it takes in more and more glasses until this reaches critical mass and explodes. Then, for a day, the star becomes 1500 times brighter than it usually is. We know of ten recurrent novae but the Blazing Star has one of the longest known periods between recurrences - about 80 years.
The Blaze Star, also known as T Coronae Borealis (or T Crb) is currently at 18°22 Scorpio and it’s moving slowly through the Scorpio. The last time it lit up was 9 February 1946 when it was at 17°16, then before that it was at 16°10 on 12 May 1866. There’s also two documents that discuss the nova before it was properly discovered. It was observed in around 1787/8 and a medieval manuscript mentions the nova in mid Autumn of 1217 when it was at around 7°04. The Ursperger Chronicle reports it like this:
"In the autumn season of the same year, in the early evening, a wonderful sign was seen in a certain star in the west. This star was located a little west of south, in what astrologers call Ariadne's Crown. As we ourselves observed, it was originally a faint star that for a time shone with great light, and then returned to its original faintness. There was also a very bright ray reaching up the sky, like a large tall beam. This was seen for many days that autumn. The preachers also in these times asserted that many other signs had taken place in heaven and on Earth, which it would be too long to enumerate and to add to this brief account."
I share the full text here because I think as astrologers what it shows us is that ancient astrologers took events like novae seriously and if we are seriously making a case for following in their footsteps we need to do the same. But also, they didn’t understand what they were looking at. We are aware of ten recurrent novae in this galaxy and we didn’t have evidence of this phenomenon at all until the 1900s. Most people who saw a recurrent nova before that thought it was a possibly miraculous one off event. I am 100% expecting to find ancient mesopotamian, Chinese, or Indian records that show that someone somewhere noted a recurrence in ancient times. The ancients were so often able to see more and connect more than we give them credit for. But I’ve not yet seen any evidence of this. For now, we have to assume that the recurrence of nova explosions is something nobody understood until modern times.
The Northern Crown
The Coronae Borealis constellation is named after the garland Venus gave to Ariadne when she married Dionysus. It therefore traditionally has some Venus-Mercury themes. In some cases this seems to play out with a connection between the nova event and children. For instance Spiro Agnew had his Sun conjunct the Blazing Star and his wife’s pregnancy at the time of the novae encouraged him to go back to law school.
In some cases it can also relate to adult experiences of children and succession - for instance the month of the nova architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s son sent him a copy of his book about their relationship. It had the very Saturnian title: My Father Who Is On Earth. Frank was not happy and wrote notes throughout the book, his son responded to his comments. The book was published with the full disagreement available for everyone to read. This is all very Saturn-Venus to me - succession, children, creation, difficulty, and legacy all wrapped up in one story.
Passing the Torch from Conflict to Conflict
The most notable event at the last nova was the Soviet prosecutor giving his opening statement at the Nuremberg trials. A couple of Nazis had key signs on those strongly conjunct the Blazing Star - Wilhelm Frick (the architect of Germany’s anti-Jewish laws) and Alfred Rosenberg (the administrator in charge of occupied Russia). Oddly Frick was one of only two Nazis to refuse to testify in his own defense, and Rosenberg was the only Nazi executed following his trial who refused to give a last statement before being hanged. I don’t know what this is about but Hess, the other Nazi who refused to testify had the Blazing Star strongly trine is ascendent. Maybe the influence of the Blazing Star encouraged them to let their lives end with the mercy that we didn’t have to hear them whine about it. Because honestly, nothing of value was lost when the leaders of the WW2 Nazi Party were executed.
Passing the torch from one conflict to another seems kind of key to this nova. On the day of the nova Stalin gave his first major post war speech and said that another war was inevitable because of the "capitalist development of the world economy", and that the USSR would need to concentrate on national defense in advance of a war with the Western nations. This is considered by some to be the start of the Cold War. Meanwhile in Britain, Jewish ex-servicemen beat up a group of fascists who were trying to rebuild their movement - this was both a reflection on the war that had just gone and inspired the formation of the 43 group of anti-fascists which was an essential part of the post war anti-fascist movement. One conflict ends, but immediately, another one starts.
What I’m looking out for
We can expect the nova in the next six months so I’m keeping my eye out for conflicts that are ending and sparking an immediate new conflict. The change over from Israel invading Gaza to a more sustained occupation as part of their ongoing genocide against the Palestinians strikes me as a key one to watch for. The Blazing Star is loosely conjunct Ukraine’s MC and Pluto and its at a sensitive part of various Russian natal charts so this is a conflict to watch when the Blazing Star goes up.
Prince Harry is a key celebrity in this - he has the Blazing Star conjunct his MC and it’s interesting that we’re currently in a period where for the first time ever the British press has more complaints about Prince William’s wife than Meghan Markle. The monarchy is less of a joke than we make it out to be sometimes - the ongoing conflict between the Windsor siblings and their wives demonstrates major faultlines in British society on issues like how tolerant we are of secrecy within the executive arm of government, and how a lot of people understand race and racism. A shift in this conversation could be important.
Of course, with the conception connection some of the most important events of the transit might not become apparent right away. It could be conception, or women finding out they’re pregnant, or starting to tell people. The key thing seems to be how the arrival of a child impacts the parent and this is a really personal thing we might not be aware of unless this hits your personal chart at the right time in the right way.
In general, I’ll simply be watching out for a new star in the sky. Astrology isn’t just about fortune telling, it’s about forming a personal connection to the universe and watching an event like this is one way to do that. I also think astrology is about forming a link to the past. We do this by following the cycles of planets, or in this case, stellar explosions. We also do this by understanding our ancestors who also tried to understand the stars. We have an opportunity to understand the cyclical nature of an event that most past astrologers could only understand as miraculous. I think that’s really beautiful.
Underneath, for the nerds, I have the charts for the three known nova explosions so far:

"The earliest known depiction of the constellation Orion, according to Rappenglueck, was carved on a piece of mammoth tusk. This 32,000 year old artifact of the Aurignacian people of the Upper Paleolithic represents a male figure with arms and legs outstretched in the same pose as the constellation. The tablet also has 86 markings on its sides and back. Rappenglueck notes these are the number of days which when subtracted from a year equal the average number of days of human gestation. That number also matches the days that one of Orion’s brightest stars –Betelgeuse– is visible yearly, suggesting early skywatchers may have connected women’s pregnancy with the cycles of the celestial gods." Intimate Spiritual Diaries, 13: Tapping Into Ones Pure, Cosmic Alchemical Power
~~~
TLDR; I’m a “snob”, scholars & addicts, criminal fixed stars & more, why I get tired of people in general, the 6th, 8th & 12th Houses, everyone relates sometimes, hope of avoiding misunderstandings, & this is the core of each life-forms connection with the Divine.
If only more people would live naturally & consciously to be more like the Ascendant sign, this would contribute to causing the resolution and future lessening of many Sun (ego) mirroring off the Moon (emotions) patterns, which further complicate themselves as illustrated throughout the chart.
This is how working with Astrology promotes free will, not strict prognostication.
The Ascendant is the purest spark of Who creates each being, as we incarnate.
Uncovering the mysteries of the Ascendant causes recognition of the Divinity spark of the self, and that which is or had been buried in others.
The Ascendant is the spirit. The body drives the ego part of the human. This is why it's so important to not only regularly meditate, but ground, centre, and shield our energies from the chaotic emotion forms and thought forms of the masses.
But no, we often can't have that, because we get stuck in laziness (“thanks” trines). So then we ignore the lessons of Mars which are wise strategic actions, and react harshly towards ourselves & others. We allow ourselves to be distracted by the overly-luxurious Venus. We could work with other things, including specifically Venus for creative solutions.
The 6th House (and by association the 12th) in Astrology, form the axis where the everyday meets the esoteric.
This means, when in unawareness, constant subconscious-only attempts to process the forms of energy people expel in unawareness.
This functions as an un-oiled machine; a toroid which slows its spinning. Poor health in some form is a result, through the etheric layers of the body & thrown around dangerously also, inside the physical part of the body.
Everyone experiences what I described above at times in life, through transits involving either one of those houses, and transits involving their associated signs (Virgo & Pisces’) ruling planets, Chiron & Neptune.
Those of us who have developed and continue to develop the innate human ability for psychic skills, know this very well through our experiences, and have tools to protect ourselves, and transmute.
It’s constantly fatiguing though, to people like me, who have stuff like Sun, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Juno, plus more asteroids and fixed stars than I want to lengthen this post with, conjunct in the 6th. I also have my Ascendent at the anaretic degree (the 12th House), which indicates presentation of lesson completion energy. Each house has lessons for us all to learn in life.
In recent years, I’ve been congratulated by my Ancestors for having completed the lessons of the 1st house. We all have lessons in each house. I have others to learn, and am determined to. Gratitude to my Ancestors and to my earth angel (incarnated people) friends and family for all of your help.
Those of us with prominent emphasis on both of those houses are often misunderstood as snobby, when we're naturally either scholarly, or become addicts. Many of us, including me, are as friendly as anyone else, if people aren’t impatient & overly judgemental. Both houses, for various reasons, are partly to deal with, and heal, how very real it is that we have to both resolve our own shadow work, and the shadows of everyone else around us who is in unawareness.
We don’t get tired and isolate because we think we’re better than the rest of you. We do it because we require such healing retreats.
One final note on me being misunderstood, & how there’s hope: The fixed star Unukalhai. It is known as the star which compels those with already-criminally-configured natal charts, to act on their dark desires. As with everything else in Astrology, as it’s in the skies, we all have it somewhere in our charts. My birth chart has it in the 8th House (Scorpio), conjunct Uranus (shock, unusual innovation).
They’re also in a stellium with these fixed stars: Alphecca (“lord of death”, indicates gifted Astrology access), Zubenelgenubi (wrongful accusations, obstructions, lack of forgiveness), & Zubeneschamali (high ambition, good fortune, loss through enemies leading to influential friends).
The Arabic Lot of Courage is also in that stellium.
As that’s all in the heavily transformative-pushing 8th House, people instinctively think that when I’m casually giving good advice they seem to be asking for, because it’s something that’s worked for me, I’m trying to “lord of death”, them, and they think that I have hidden (criminal) intentions. Multiple times, people in unawareness have said to me, even after years of friendship, stuff like, “I just feel a darkness in you. I can’t continue this friendship.” I used to try and understand why, but they couldn’t or wouldn’t ever explain it further. This has happened through dating, as I’m always the one getting ghosted. This situations don’t involve anything even resembling what anyone could consider an altercation.
It’s mind control, and people give in to it.
Aside from shoplifting as a kid, to distract myself from being bullied by most of the kids at my school, I don’t have criminal behaviours. I felt guilty for the shoplifting because as my parents correctly lectured me about why it was wrong, I stopped.
I’m tired of lazy, sometimes even perverted people dumping their 6th / 12th / 8th trash on me, and avoiding their own karmic responsibilities for their own shadow work. Even those who have somewhat aware lifestyles do this.
May everyone learn personal responsibility, the tools to do their own shadow work, and thrive.
22/6/2023
“Capra, Capella, Hircine Queen: you are She whose cloven feet are the drums conjuring forth flame and torrent, whose horns graze the sky and draw down the swift howls of the storm. I ask not for mercy— only deliverance from fear, that I may stand tall amid the downpour, unflinching as the whip-crack of thunder crashes through dark clouds.Just because there are storms on the horizon does not mean one should cease sailing. I know this— for I have passed through the storm and lived. O Castor and Pollux: you lanterns in the dark, the First Fire and promises of blue skies! This catamaran is made to endure, and I have faith in St Elmo’s fire to guide me through the terror and the tempest.”
