4. Is there a popular pairing you don't necessarily dislike but aren't too invested in?

Not that I can think of. There are a lot I dislike and I won't invest any time in and go so far as to block the ship name and any variants so I don't have to see art or headcanons, etc, about it. So if it's not blocked and I see it and I think the art is cool I guess that means I don't dislike it? I often share it even if it's a ship I don't necessarily involve myself in. Like I don't write for SamBucky or SamTasha, or Stony (although I've apparently blocked Stony, tho I'm not sure when that happened lol), but if I see cool art I'll share it. But yeah....there's a lot I avoid by all means.

11. What's your favorite piece of fanart?

OMG HOW CAN YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE?! I literally have more than 600 pix of fanart for FrostIron -- some made specifically for me -- and 134 of WinterFrost. Anything by @batwynn and lightonlight I love. And you'll probably laugh but this is one of my favorites for FrostIron.

As for WinterFrost...I seem to have made a lot more edits for this ship than any other LOL. But millennium-h always did the BEST edits for WF, including making those pix of Hiddles kissing someone on the rocks MUCH BETTER (sadly, they left the fandom not too long ago). And like with FI, I have a lot of faves, but this is one I really enjoyed.

17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [Loki] would like?

I think it's obvious that Loki would be all over Shakespeare and any adaptation of his works. And he'd probably critique it better than Shakespearean scholars themselves. But I think that mischievous and love of chaos side of him would probably also be really into trash reality TV. Like the Real Housewives franchise. He'd have watch parties and hours-long discussions afterwards and everyone would be shocked by how accurate his psychoanalysis is. Because if there's anything people who are used to being overlooked and ignored can do it's read other people's emotions.

22. Give us a headcanon for [Tony Stark].

Aw man. I'm terrible at headcanons! I don't even know, man. Maybe that despite all his bravado (or overconfidence to cover for his insecurity) and need to prove himself to Howard, there's still enough of Maria in him that emerges in his tendency to take "lost" souls under his wing, not even to mentor but to give them a hand? Happy (loss of his boxing career, so he gave him a job), Peter, obvs, and even Steve, who he reluctantly helped bc y'know resentment. I say that's Maria bc considering how difficult Howard as a person was, who the fuck else could see anything redeeming enough to marry and have a child with him? She had to see something under the surface, yeah?

Idk. Told you I don't do headcanons. LOL

25. What's your least favorite thing [Bucky Barnes] said or did?

Killed Tony's parents??? IDK, there isn't much I dislike about Bucky, except that they didn't let him kiss Steve! I'm honestly just glad they never included that relationship from the comic in the movies bc I despise that actress and it would've bothered me to watch her shitty flirt-acting and whatever with Sebastian. It was bad enough with Fluffalo. Ick.

What made you ship it?

Fanart. That's what caught my attention about the ship first. So much gorgeous Frostiron fanart out there, and it got to me, and I started to ship them really hard. It helped to see a lot of the BTS stuff with Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Hiddleston being silly and flirty with each other and just having great overall friendship chemistry (and I'm a huge sucker for friends to lovers - for characters!).

What are your favorite things about the ship?

The snark and sass and diva-hood of these two characters that just meshes well together. They're sexy, they've got hearts of gold that a lot of people overlook because of their attitudes. They have so much in common, and they both come from a place that needs a lot of healing. Their love of fucking with people just works, and I think they'd pull epic pranks together on their found family. I think they'd never get bored with each other. I think that they bring out really good things in each other, things that probably surprise everyone else about them, and sure they probably have some doozies of fights that are more about cutting words than punching each other, but I think they have just as intense making up as well. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I would imagine there are some things I write or headcanon about them that would be unpopular, esp to other writers/readers. I mean, I know that people love to just constantly BDSM them as if that's the only way they can ever conduct their romantic/sexual relationship, but to me, that's maybe one tiny aspect of their relationship that means they'll never get bored, but ultimately they don't have to rely on that in order to have a good relationship. That's probably the biggest thing in the way I write them (and hell in the way I write them so far, that hasn't even come up yet) that probably makes a lot of other Frostiron shippers give my fics a big pass.

My favorite thing about them: Mentally ill prince with family issues and muderous tendancies, my favourite things.

My least favorite thing about them: how terribly inconsistent their writing is. Each writer has tackled Loki in a wholly new way, and the end result is a jarring mess where what Marvel says the audience should think of Loki and the ways they actually write Loki are completely incongurrant. I fully believe that the reason why AoA works so well is because it had just one writer who really fleshed out Loki's past, present, and possible future characterisations and wrote the series with that in mind at all times.

My favorite canon relationship: I want to say Thor and Loki but part of Thor and Loki being the most inconsistently written characters is that their relationship is completely over the place and it means I can only care some of the time (which I hate for the record. You gave me extremely messed up royal siblings with bonus hero and villain angst, how did you mess that up)

Anyway, have you heard the good news of Loki and Verity? Genderfluid pansexual god of lies meets local ace nerd who has lie detecting powers. Become instant best friends. He rescues her by turning into a unicorn so she can ride him to get away from the police. She jumps on Thor's back in spite of being a very tiny skin and bones human so he'll stop attacking Loki. When the world ends, Loki puts her soul in a bracelet so she won't die. Icon behaviour on both of their counts.

My favorite non-canon relationship: FrostIron. What other ship sustains itself to that degree after only one canon interaction 12 years ago.

(I'm also partial to Loki/Fandral, but that's canon in the comics so doesn't count :p)

The sexuality I headcanon for them: genderfluid pansexual (again, canon in AoA. Disney you will pay for your crimes)

What I’d do if I could spend the day with them: Make them use their powers to act out the Loki season one I have in my head. Then get ice cream.

Random fact about them I like: I will never stop talking about how he goes fishing using a bazooka.

My favorite thing about them: He deals with his daddy issues so well <3 he's going to get such a good grade in kingship, something that is both normal and possible to achieve <3

Hi there!! Sorry for taking so long to answer! Life's been really busy lately, and unfortunately not always in a good way, but such is the way of life :'D And omg, thank you for your kind words, I really melted here, it means so much to hear it, now more than ever ;; Cheers to you too, my friend!

As to my thoughts on frostiron and cherik - honestly, it's a little overwhelming, I feel like there's so much I could say about either of the ships that I can hardly say anything at all, if that makes sense? Like I don't even know WHERE TO START. Also I’m not sure if you meant like, share headcanons or meta on the relationships themselves, or what I feel about the ships in general, but I realized that I should’ve clarified that already after a small rant, so... sorry :’D

Frostiron is probably the dearest, most precious ship for me, one that I have never stopped loving ever since discovering it, one that gained me a lot of amazing friends and even, dare I say, affected some of important life choices for me (well, not really, it was mostly Tony Stark's fault, but I'm not kidding when I say he played a major role in my University choice). I'm not really big on changing fandoms, only ever joined a few, so it may not be much, but still, there are fandoms and ships that you enjoy, and then there are fandoms and ships that stick with you, you know? So while I can enjoy new peices of media I discover just fine and will really get to it, I know for sure that I will still eventually come back to frostiron, even if it will be another short break :’D

Cherik is... a bit complicated for me right now, I guess, because while I was very much there when XMFC came out and was really into it, it didn’t feel like something I could really get into... then again, it happened at a time where I had a lot going on in my life, and not a year later I got sucked into frostiron, actually, so. :D But the force with which it hit me this time around, I feel like it has the potential to become another ship and fandom that sticks with me (I think by now it’s safe to say that I tend to cycle between three fandoms, and now it might very well become four). So what I mean to say is, cherik is both an old flame for me and a newest obsession, and I’m cautious to evaluate my involvement yet (I have yet to provide any content, ten year old drabbles and vids aside), but it’s been... a really long time since I fell for a (kinda) new ship quite this hard, and it couldn’t have come at a better time - with the amount of shit I have to deal presently, it became my saving grace to the point where I exist on no sleep, just coffee, alcohol and cherik, and it’s enough to keep me going and not break down completely :’D

I honestly can’t think of any tropes I hate at the moment (though I know I have several) but I will avoid certain topics/tropes that might trigger me. A/B/O is a big one for the lack of consent possible (but I will say, I trust Starsdidathing with that trope).

Starker and Thorki. Huge supporter of ship and let ship!! But personally, I just don’t like these.

💡: Tell me a headcanon (and who you wish would write it)?

I’m blanking on a headcanon, mainly because most of my headcanons for frostiron and winteriron are the same ideas that many of us have. And I’d happily read the same premise over and over again, done by different authors! There are so many writers in both fandoms that come to mind that I always enjoy reading. I’d tag people but then I’d surely forget to tag someone, and I don’t want to do that lol

Why do you write fanfic? I write fic because the authors are WrongTM. Lol, no, but actually. I write because I want to continue the story, or there’s a part of the story I think could be expanded upon or reimagined and I have an idea for it. 

What is your most overrated fanfic? I don’t think I really have an overrated fic per say, but if I had to choose it would probably be (non-Loki) Te Veo or (Loki) These, Our Bodies, Possessed By Light, just because it’s the first fic I wrote since coming back to AO3 so I don’t think it really deserves the hype given how much I’ve grown and improved since writing it. 

What is your most underrated fanfic? Underrated is either Like the Dawn or Phantom Limb. Like the Dawn is one of my personal favorites, and Phantom Limb more explicitly links Where Mischief Lies with the MCU in a way that was personally satisfying to me. 

What is your most overrated headcanon? I don’t know what this means? Something I consider to be overrated? I’m gonna go with a headcanon many people in the fandom seem to agree with maybe. Definitely that Loki didn’t die on the Ark when Thanos supposedly killed him. It’s overrated because we’ve never seen him die and the members of the Asgardian royal family we’ve seen die have vanished to Valhalla in golden sparks, which Loki didn’t do. So it seems pretty textbook that he wouldn’t be dead, whatever a stupid power-hungry titan said about it. 

What is your most underrated set of headcanons? As much as I hate it, it’s definitely the headcanon that Mobius is a Loki. (See my post about this for more details.)

What detail did you put in a work that you wanted people to notice? It’s the entirety of Bring You Safely Home to Me honestly, but it’s my lowest-performing Frostiron fic in the series so I’m counting it. It’s a retelling of a Norse myth of where Loki is just before the events of Ragnarok in the Norse mythological cycle. 

What thing(s) in canon do you have VERY STRONG OPINIONS ON? In the MCU, definitely how they’ve chosen to represent Loki’s genderfluidity (poorly). In the comics, how well subsequent authors have honored the character development Al Ewing has afforded Loki (not well for most runs since 2013).

What thing(s) in canon do you prefer glossing over in your work? We don’t talk about that Kiss, unless it was a distraction, and comics-wise we really don’t talk about Vote Loki. Loki is a thinly-veiled stand-in for an American presidential candidate who very unfortunately won an election seven years ago, and acts like him, and I hate it. I hate it with every fiber of my being. I hate that he showed up in the tv show, even as a bad guy cameo that got his hand bit off. I hate that I have to see merch for him all over the fucking place. If we never acknowledged his existence again it would be too soon.

What controversial fandom takes do you have, if any? Probably the most controversial are that I ship Thorki and I don’t ship Loki with who he kisses in episode six. Like I ship incest but not selfcest? I don’t know, just how it goes I guess. 

What is your writing schedule like? I don’t have a schedule. I get an idea, I think about it, and then go on a day or two or three day writing binge until it’s done, edit it as soon as I’m done, and post it. And then wait for inspiration to strike again. Rinse and repeat. 

What fanfic took the most research? Honestly probably Nothing Matters at the End of the World. I spent an obnoxiously long time reading quotes from the series, trying to find relevant phrases to serve as chapter titles. I read a lot of MCU wiki pages, and spent an uncomfortable amount of time reading about dinosaurs and their extinction event.

What fanfic of yours is your favorite? Like the Dawn. (Non-Loki favorite is The Courage of Stars, my most recent Good Omens fic.)

Do you read your own fanfic? Yes, more often than is probably reasonable. 

What character deserved more screen time? Like canonically? In Loki-featured comics, Cloud and Verity. In the show, Croki. 

What secondary character would you make the main character of the series? I’m gonna answer this in terms of my frostiron series, actually (Nights on the Roof). I like Idunn and Clint’s characters in the series, maybe not as the main characters, but maybe a part from their perspective could be fun. 

What character have you written the most for? Loki. That’s why I’m doing this on my Loki blog. After Loki, Tony. 

What character(s) would you never write for? Why? President Loki. Fuck that bitch. I’ve already explained why I hate him. He’s a terrible person and he makes no sense for any characterization of the character whatsoever.

What is your favorite fanfic trope? Least favorite? Favorite is enemies to lovers and hurt/comfort. Least favorites are hurt/no comfort, major character death, and Harry Potter AUs. Even when I was a fan, I wasn’t up for those. 

Where did you start reading fanfic? Where did you start writing? The N. My childhood best friend was writing a Harry Potter fanfic when we were 13 and posting it on there. I started writing it (online) on Cartoon Doll Emporium (I think) a year later. If not, then I started posting it on AO3 in college, but I’ve been handwriting it since middle school. 

Favorite fanfic platform? AO3 hands down. I don’t use anything else. 

How old is your blog? This one? Like a week and a half. How long have I been on tumblr (no, I’m not telling you my other account)? Like 13 or 14 years. 

When did you write your first fanfic? What was it about? Do you look back and still like it? First fanfic in general was an unfinished Chronicles of Narnia fic I started when I was 13 that I didn’t post anywhere because The N didn’t allow you to post anything until you were 14, and I was a goody-two-shoes who refused to lie about my age. I don’t remember it and I don’t think I still have it, but I probably wouldn’t still like it. First Loki fic specifically was History Books Forgot About Us in 2017. It’s the first version of These, Our Bodies, but it’s from Thor’s point of view. I still like it, and there are some good parts I had to leave out for the rewrite that got published since it changed perspectives, but ultimately the best version of the story is the one that got posted on AO3. 

What is your favorite fandom to write for? Marvel, definitely. Within that, probably the Avengers, because I think Tony and Loki have a really interesting dynamic that lends itself to a lot of possible storylines with many options for side characters. 

What niche character/fandom/trope is your guilty pleasure? I don’t really believe in guilty pleasures, but probably the most “problematic” pairing I write about is thorki. I have written (unpublished) fanfic of fanfic for this pairing. If you like thorki and genderfluid Loki, the To Know You Anywhere series by triedunture is heart wrenching and perfect. 

For reader insert writers, who do you imagine when you write your reader inserts (OC, yourself, canon character, etc.)? I neither write these nor read these. 

What compelled you to your go-to characters? Really? Loki is genderfluid, bi/pan, a fascinating anti-hero, and between Tom Hiddleston in the MCU and Al Ewing’s writing in the comics I’ve come to really latch onto Loki. He’s interesting and I like exploring him in different contexts, with different people.

OC writers, when did you first come up with the concept for your OC? I don’t write these either. 

What character(s) do you think you most resemble? Probably Verity. She kind of just goes through her life with this strange best friend who she cares about but is kind of doing his own thing that he occasionally brings to her doorstep. She doesn’t put up with any of his shit but is loyal and kind to him. She’s ace (I don’t make the rules, Al Ewing absolutely made her ace), so she wants nothing to do with Loki romantically. She’s about the only woman Loki isn’t related to who treats him decently, but she’s ace so she’s never gonna be in a romantic relationship with him.

this wasn’t my first piece of media i was a fan of, but it is the first fandom i joined. i started my foray into fanfiction (both reading and writing) with percy jackson! i would consider myself more of an outsider to the fandom now as i haven’t involved myself in it for a while, however i still have a look at my bookmarked fics from time to time and reread books of my choosing when i’m in the mood. i’m beyond excited for the show!!

CHECK! I own all the PJO, HOO, and TOA books, as well the first Magnus Chase and Kane Chronicles. I also own most of the guidebooks and a handful of Rick Riordan Presents.

2. Harry Potter

my jouney with harry potter started when i was 8 and it hasn’t stopped. i spent a good chunk of my childhood obsessed with all the content i could get my hands on, including books, pottermore content, and fan theories. i collected merch and all the side books i could get my hands on. i still have a shrine on my bookshelf. however, by the time i discovered fanfic, my phase was dying off. in light of jkr disgusting views and me discovering new media, my harry potter fanfiction fixtations are few and far between. that’s not to say they don’t exist though. everything from drarry, to next gen, to marauders era has been picked apart by my grubby little hands. i’m currently in a harry potter fic phase right now!!

I also have the Cursed Child and the first two Fantastic Beats (not buying anything related to this series anymore due to not wanting to support JKR). 3. Marvel Cinematic Universe

my introduction to the marvel fandom was a bit backwards because i started with the fandom and then got into the media. my first real slice of the MCU came from fanfic. i fell in love with “competent tony stark” and “team as family” fanfiction and subjected myself to all the ships, including my favourite, frostiron!! after months of reading fanfiction and getting a basic grasp of wtf was happening in the universe, i realized i should probably watch the movies. thus began my journey into binge watching the 20 or so movies that had been released so far (i got into it in the wait for endgame). now my favourite tropes are tony and peter father/son relationship and what would happen if everything didn’t go to shit. i love watching the new shows and movies (even if they aren’t the best).

my run as in nctzen came quick and never left. i found myself falling into the nct rabbit hole when quarantine began and imminently fell in love with all (21 at the time) members. i watched all their yt content, listened to all their music, bought their albums, illegally streamed nct life, hell i made fucking slideshows about them. as a haechan bias, i of course became obsessed with markhyuck as soon as i learned of its existence. most of my ao3 bookmarks come from this fandom as i did nothing but read nct fic for all of 2020. i love them all dearly and seeing any sort of nct performance puts a smile on my face.

bnha was far from my first anime but it was the first anime i read fanfic for sooo. i read the manga when i was younger but lost interest eventually due to it not being even close to complete. i picked up the anime a few years later and it took over my life. i binge watched all 4 seasons over a 2 week period and pirated the 5th a few months later. i love the focus and development we get to see for all the characters, main, side, and villain. i especially liked the ethics debate it brings up, what makes a villain/hero. i have 2 mha fic moods, hurt/comfort childhood friends redemption trauma bakudeku (could be platonic) and smoking hot lov as family fuck the hpsc todoroki family hotwings. both are fucking amazing and have such large canon and canon-divergent pools of content to pull from.

as you’ve probably noticed by now, i am a basic bitch. another fandom i got into for the fanfic, after watching a few streams, i was besotted with the character and personality of the members of this server. i still think they are all amazing, talented, creative people who deserve every bit of attention they get. i wasn’t really a lore girl but i indulged in it every so often. what i really liked was the dynamics between the streamers and the friendships that we got to watch develop over time. i admire the love and care they all seem to have for one another, even as they go off and do their own thing. i was also very into mcc up until a few months ago.

The tension between me and my headcanon that Loki saw all the possible futures, just like Strange did, but back before the Chitauri invasion of New York when Thanos gave him the scepter and "convinced" him to lead the attack on Earth. He showed Loki all the possible outcomes, all the ones where Thanos won, to help bend Loki's will to his cause. But Loki also saw the one where a man is a red and gold metallic suit defeats the Mad Titan, where his captors lose, and where life goes on. So when he faces the Avengers on Earth and that man, the Iron Man - Tony Stark, is amongst them, Loki knows he must lose and must do everything in his power to help the Iron Man succeed.

Loki lowkey liked to keep things lowkey, but Tony wouldn’t have any of that.

Because he was Tony Stark. So each time they made their (almost daily) public appearance together, it was Tony taking Loki to a fancy restaurant — hands holding and lots of kisses.

Tony spoiled Loki rotten with various expensive gifts, whether it be Gucci outfits, diamond rings or customized daggers with their initial engraved on it.

Breakfast in bed. Tony cooked, and Loki never had it in his heart to say his boyfriend couldn’t cook (Loki liked to think he was a savage and he could tell Tony the food was bad. He failed every time he saw the excitement look on Tony’s face when he ate something Tony made)

Loki could cook, however. He was pretty good at it. So most of the time he insisted to cook for them and made sure he never slipped it was because Tony’s cooking skills were horrible.

Loki being unreasonably jealous every time Tony spent too much time with a man or a woman for Loki’s liking. Because with Loki’s abandonment issues, his own thoughts kept telling him Tony was going to leave him just like everybody else did. It was only a matter of time

But Tony was never angry about it because Tony understood what Loki went through. So instead Tony would sit Loki down and assure him he wasn’t going anywhere, and he would keep assuring Loki that a hundred time a day every day, if that was what it took to make Loki believe him.

Lots of nightmares, too. It was an unspoken rule between them that they would wake the other up if the other started thrashing in their sleep.

They never talked about what the nightmare was about because there was no reason to. Just them being in each other’s arms was more than enough.

Tony was the first to say “I love you.” In Loki’s part, it was never that easy to confess his feelings, something he considered weakness, so openly. So during the first few months of their relationship it was Tony keeping telling Loki he loved him and asking if he knew that, and Loki would nod.

Tony understood Loki’s issues and he was being super patient and supportive and never rushed Loki to say it back.

When Loki did say it back, it was when he was absolutely ready and certain Tony was the one.

It was when Tony least expected it. Or, it was when they were fighting about something stupid they didn’t even remember what it was about.

But Loki just blurted out.

The “I love you” that stunned Tony.

The look on Loki’s face was something Tony didn’t think he could forget, and it hurt him because Loki looked hurt — like he was afraid Tony would push him away.

But Tony just gently, slowly, pulled him into a hug.

Their previous argument was utterly forgotten.

“I love you too, Lokes.”

Honestly, what relationship dynamic do you like best? Like, if you had to engineer a pairing that hits absolutely everything you like.

What's your ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PAIRING EVER to write?

I love so much about all the ships I enjoy writing, but I'm gonna have to go with Loki/Tony Stark if I must pick a favorite-favorite. There's something about all that sass and sarcasm and flirty smiles and the height difference and the shitty parenting and PTSD and panic attacks and mood swings and being touch-starved that just absolutely does it for me.

Honestly, what relationship dynamic do you like best? Like, if you had to engineer a pairing that hits absolutely everything you like.

A lot of the things that encompass Tony/Loki has what I love - angst/hurt/with lots and lots and lots of comfort, characters on pretty much equal footing with each other, even if it doesn't always seem like it at first, shared trauma-type experiences, shared interests, shared personality traits (like sass, sarcasm, similar sense of humor), matching sex drives. I don't like uneven power dynamics, I don't like d/s, I don't like the reliance on fetish to have any type of healthy relationship dynamic, and even though that's what a lot of the Frostiron fandom takes as headcanon that we ALL share, we don't, and I think there's more to Frostiron than all of that, and that's the cracks and crevices of their relationship I like to delve into. Of course, with all the ships I like to play with, I like to find those areas where these relationships are all similar, not the same but have similar qualities that I like to work with.
